Welcome to the Weekly Brief, where we cover the
• 0:02
strategic developments shaping the region. Hello.
• 0:05
Today, our focus is on a key diplomatic meeting
• 0:08
in Dubai that signals a strengthening of ties
• 0:12
between the UAE and Bahrain. That's right. His
• 0:15
Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayr, he's the
• 0:18
MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,
• 0:21
officially welcomed His Excellency Talal Yousaf
• 0:25
Fakhro, the new Consul General of Bahrain and
• 0:28
Dubai and the Northern Emirates. And while it
• 0:31
was an introductory meeting, the conversation
• 0:33
quickly zeroed in on future collaboration. His
• 0:37
Excellency Al -Tayr emphasized the deep relations
• 0:41
between the two nations and Dubai Electricity
• 0:44
and Water Authority. Electricity and Water Authority's
• 0:45
specific goals. He said, and this is a direct
• 0:48
quote, That is such a clear roadmap for partnership.
• 1:08
And he further solidified that cooperative stance.
• 1:11
He added, and again, we're quoting directly,
• 1:14
His Excellency Altair also emphasized Dubai Electricity
• 1:18
and Water Authority And that vision was clearly
• 1:27
shared. The new Consul General responded very
• 1:30
  positively, acknowledging Dubai Electricity and
• 1:33
  Water Authority's international standing. His
• 1:36
Excellency Talal Yusuf Fakro, and we're quoting
• 1:39
verbatim here, He commended Dubai Electricity
• 1:43
and Water Authority's efforts and global achievements
• 1:46
in the energy, water, innovation, and sustainability
• 1:49
fields and expressed Bahrain's interest in enhancing
• 1:53
cooperation and deepening the partnership with
• 1:56
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in areas
• 1:59
of mutual interest. So what this tells us is
• 2:02
that this was far more than just a diplomatic
• 2:04
formality. It's the foundation for a strategic
• 2:07
partnership focused on some of the most critical
• 2:09
sectors for the future, sustainability and innovation.
• 2:13
Exactly. It's a powerful start to the new consul
• 2:16
general's mission and a testament to the shared
• 2:18
vision within the region. As nations increasingly
• 2:21
focus on these specialized areas like renewable
• 2:24
energy for their diplomatic outreach, it shifts
• 2:27
the nature of international relations from traditional...
• 2:30
to more practical, project -based partnerships.
