- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the to the pod.
- 0:10Speaker 2: You know what time it is. It's off the edge
- 0:11Speaker 2: of me, your host Cam jordan' oh man.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We're getting blessed. We're getting blessed with two for. Here
- 0:16Speaker 1: we go, We're getting blessed with a two for.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You know about Adam Thielen is a pro bowler, you know,
- 0:22Speaker 2: just just a guy who was a stable for the
- 0:23Speaker 2: Minnesota Bike is now with Carolina Panthers Wide receiver one
- 0:27Speaker 2: for real. I mean when you talking about possession receiver,
- 0:29Speaker 2: my guy is fris Is Stack.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Put it loon one. Bryce, We're gonna talk to you too.
- 0:32Speaker 1: It fell the come on.
- 0:34Speaker 2: We were sitting next to Bryce Young showing a miss
- 0:36Speaker 2: talent and mist growth this year. I mean, what you
- 0:39Speaker 2: overcame this year was nothing short of amazing, just because
- 0:43Speaker 2: you know, there was a stint where uh you know,
- 0:46Speaker 2: the red rocket came in.
- 0:47Speaker 1: And was out there throw a red rocket rifle. I've
- 0:49Speaker 1: always messed that.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Up, but anywhere.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but Andy Dalton, you know, and then you took
- 0:54Speaker 2: over and you came back with a vengeance.
- 0:56Speaker 4: My boy appreciation.
- 0:57Speaker 1: What's your mindset like?
- 0:59Speaker 4: Uh, just just.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Want to keep stacking, you know, just want to be consistent.
- 1:02Speaker 5: While I was doing I was gravy for the opportunity.
- 1:05Speaker 5: And then I just want to be be consistent, lean
- 1:08Speaker 5: on guys like this, uh, which which helped, you know,
- 1:11Speaker 5: just lean on the team, and yeah, I just want
- 1:13Speaker 5: to be.
- 1:14Speaker 1: A picture of consistency.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Adam feeling, come on, man, wherever they put you, you
- 1:17Speaker 2: show out and you don't get the process that you deserve.
- 1:20Speaker 2: So I'm just gonna give your flowers now. Boy, it's
- 1:22Speaker 2: always it's always pleasure to see you. You take the
- 1:24Speaker 2: field and like, no, Adam feeling like he's getting older.
- 1:27Speaker 2: You can guard them, and yet you snag everything. I'm like, bo,
- 1:29Speaker 2: stop disrespecting people that don't need to be disrespected.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Man, Well, we and I talk about a lot. You know.
- 1:33Speaker 6: I'm just really good at finding zones, you know, find
- 1:37Speaker 6: holes in the defense.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Not fast enough to beat man the man cover just.
- 1:42Speaker 2: You know, wow, tell them I'm white without saying craft,
- 1:46Speaker 2: you understand the defensive spot. I don't like it for you, bro, No,
- 1:49Speaker 2: I've seen I've seen the burners on. You know we're
- 1:51Speaker 2: not doing that. But I mean, just you guys, chemistry,
- 1:55Speaker 2: how did that? How did that go along? This last
- 1:56Speaker 2: two years?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:57Speaker 5: Yeah, well for me, honestly, just just coming in his
- 2:00Speaker 5: rookie not knowing how to you know, not know what
- 2:02Speaker 5: you expect, not knowing what what everything was trying to
- 2:04Speaker 5: find my footing. Having a guy like Adam who has
- 2:07Speaker 5: had so much success for so long he was I
- 2:11Speaker 5: appreciate he was super super communicative.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Is that how you say that communicative communicator? I appreciate.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I see what I was like.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I just go over it.
- 2:19Speaker 5: But he communicated super well about He was super open
- 2:23Speaker 5: about about talking, Hey, this is how I see things?
- 2:25Speaker 4: How do you see things? Just want to be on
- 2:27Speaker 4: the same page.
- 2:28Speaker 5: And having that urgency about it for me as a
- 2:29Speaker 5: young guy coming in was super beneficial. And I was
- 2:33Speaker 5: always wont to hear his opinions on stuff because you know,
- 2:35Speaker 5: he had seen a lot more He's seen a lot
- 2:36Speaker 5: more NFL ball than I had one to hear that,
- 2:38Speaker 5: and him making himself available and then obviously that translates
- 2:41Speaker 5: to the field of you know, it's a lot gets
- 2:45Speaker 5: open a lot, So it's always just crafty.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly exactly his own covers man.
- 2:52Speaker 5: So I'm always uh, yeah, he he makes it makes
- 2:55Speaker 5: it a lot easier for me to be a position.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Look, you with Obama. You you've been to Carolina. You
- 3:01Speaker 2: guys have ran in some country, you.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Know, like, but you got a receiver to you didn't
- 3:07Speaker 6: want sc right, Yeah, I mean Bama of the North.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I guess.
- 3:14Speaker 6: About they think about Mankato. Uh, it's a southern Minnesota. Wow,
- 3:22Speaker 6: we can just call it's Minnesota state. It sounds a
- 3:24Speaker 6: little better.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I mean, I was born to eating prairie.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But what we're not gonna do is ever say Minnesota
- 3:28Speaker 2: anywhere is country. It's Canada. It's the very nice, polite people.
- 3:34Speaker 2: But I mean, let's talk about the kid Xavier. I'm
- 3:37Speaker 2: not even leg leget Okay, yeah that makes sense. When
- 3:42Speaker 2: he talks, I cannot like. And I've been I've been
- 3:45Speaker 2: to Opelousas, I've been to Lake Charles. I mean, I'm
- 3:47Speaker 2: throughout Louisiana. No, it's he's one of those like New
- 3:52Speaker 2: Iberia types.
- 3:53Speaker 6: My favorite thing is in receiver meetings is no one
- 3:56Speaker 6: knows what he's saying except for me. So so Coach
- 4:00Speaker 6: more will literally ask me a question, Xavier will respond
- 4:03Speaker 6: and then Coach will immediate look to me like what
- 4:06Speaker 6: did he say? And I have to translate and then
- 4:09Speaker 6: everyone's like why are you the one who's translating. It
- 4:11Speaker 6: doesn't make any sense, but for some reason, I just
- 4:13Speaker 6: understand what he's saying.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Ah, got it, got it? Hints why is the south
- 4:17Speaker 1: of the North? Yeah?
- 4:17Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So in a huddle, yeah, you called out a play.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 1: In practice he comes to you when he starts talking
- 4:26Speaker 1: to you. Hey, I mean I've.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Gotten better too.
- 4:30Speaker 5: I honestly I feel like at first adjustment, but like
- 4:33Speaker 5: I think, going to Bama, we had a couple of
- 4:34Speaker 5: guys that I'm not gonna lie. He's he's the most egregious,
- 4:37Speaker 5: but we've had a couple of guys that were closed.
- 4:39Speaker 5: So I've gotten better. And when we have union meetings
- 4:42Speaker 5: to this day, like he'll say something. Whenever he says
- 4:45Speaker 5: something in union meeting, he'll say, you know, something like normal,
- 4:48Speaker 5: I'm gonna try to do his voice, but something like okay,
- 4:50Speaker 5: so I got an outside released on that and legit
- 4:53Speaker 5: will be signed for two sakes. Everyone just start cracking
- 4:55Speaker 5: up and like this is like week seventeen. I'm like, bro,
- 4:58Speaker 5: I heard him, Like is everyone still this behind?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yes?
- 5:00Speaker 4: So I think I've adjusted a little bit.
- 5:02Speaker 5: It's just yesterday I seen him, Uh and it was
- 5:05Speaker 5: like a little loud where we were at and it
- 5:07Speaker 5: was dark. So I'm like, all right, bro, I'm not
- 5:10Speaker 5: gonna lie man, like I can't Like normally I do better,
- 5:13Speaker 5: I know, but like not right now, Like I can't
- 5:15Speaker 5: even reach your lips.
- 5:17Speaker 4: I'm not gonna lie this. We can't have a conversation.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I just want to know.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Like, like we saw the viral clips of like Thanksgiving
- 5:25Speaker 2: came around and he came in with the.
- 5:27Speaker 1: With the coon. He tried it right there with the raccoon.
- 5:29Speaker 1: There we go.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I was like, I was like, yo, who actually, Like
- 5:31Speaker 2: I've ate some wild stuff, Like I've gone to Japan,
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've ate some wild stuff. I've gone to Korea. I've
- 5:35Speaker 2: gone to you know whatever, Egypt. I've had some some
- 5:38Speaker 2: some random meats. You know, I've gone to Liberia and
- 5:40Speaker 2: had some bush meet pauls wild And then when I
- 5:44Speaker 2: think about just like so he comes in with you
- 5:46Speaker 2: know whatever whatever it was, it was raccoon right tried it.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Well, here's the deal.
- 5:51Speaker 6: So SO built a pretty good relationship with him over
- 5:54Speaker 6: over the year, you know, and he's my guy. I mean,
- 5:57Speaker 6: I love that kid. He's a great kid, works hard.
- 5:59Speaker 6: He tried to do things the right way. So when
- 6:01Speaker 6: you have a guy like that, you just kind of
- 6:03Speaker 6: root for guys like that, right as you know.
- 6:05Speaker 3: And so anyways, we build up a strong relationship.
- 6:07Speaker 6: So over the season he's like, hey, man, like raccoon
- 6:11Speaker 6: is so good, Like you'll like it, I promise you.
- 6:13Speaker 6: I'm like, all right, like you know, we got a
- 6:15Speaker 6: good relationship. I'll trust you. I'll try it. So, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 6: he kept saying he's gonna bring in never did. Finally,
- 6:21Speaker 6: around Thanksgiving time, brings it in to the locker room
- 6:23Speaker 6: and it's like it's like he didn't have it in
- 6:26Speaker 6: the cooler, like it was just like in a tupperware
- 6:29Speaker 6: and he's like just like carrying it through the locker
- 6:31Speaker 6: room like not cold, like this is just like you,
- 6:34Speaker 6: this is room temperature.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Raccoon. You tried it and I tried it.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Did you try it? That's my last question. I did
- 6:39Speaker 1: not try it.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I have super spece.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I appreciate it.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Tap out and uh yeah, yes tomorrow I got nothing
- 6:49Speaker 6: so I'll see them all. So anyways, I took a
- 6:53Speaker 6: little pinch of it and I tried it.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It was like it's like a pitch of dip and he.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Swears that it's like good, and it's not good. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 6: it's not good. It's just like super well they obviously
- 7:05Speaker 6: his I think it's his uncle who makes it and
- 7:07Speaker 6: is like he swears, but oh, he's the only one
- 7:09Speaker 6: that can cook, the only one I'll eat it from.
- 7:11Speaker 6: And so I think they just put so much seasoning
- 7:13Speaker 6: on it. It's like you're just tasting tasting seasoning, got it,
- 7:16Speaker 6: you know, but like the actual meat is like it's disgusting.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Ah, yeah, I figured, you know, I'm not I'm gonna
- 7:23Speaker 2: lie like I get it. They say, like raccoons wash
- 7:25Speaker 2: their hands for the eat. What is the guy to
- 7:27Speaker 2: do what they're eating? You know, Like I'm I'm savage.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm glad I tried it though, cause it's like, you know,
- 7:32Speaker 2: you now know you never want any raccoon again.
- 7:33Speaker 6: Yeah, and like it's it's kind of cool, like how
- 7:35Speaker 6: many people have actually eaten raccoon?
- 7:37Speaker 1: Okay, I mean yeah, it's not gonna be me.
- 7:40Speaker 2: And I've had like random foods now, like I think
- 7:44Speaker 2: I've had horse and I didn't like wow, yeah, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I hope I have never had dog.
- 7:49Speaker 1: But then again, I've gone to some places where I
- 7:51Speaker 1: never asked.
- 7:52Speaker 6: I think it just makes it worse that you like,
- 7:54Speaker 6: know what a raccoon is, you know what I mean,
- 7:57Speaker 6: Like if it was just like here's some meat, like
- 7:59Speaker 6: try it.
- 8:00Speaker 7: Yeah, you might partake. Yeah, I'm like, you've had that
- 8:03Speaker 7: rabbit before, right, Yeah, I've had rabbit. That's fine with that,
- 8:05Speaker 7: Like rabbits. Rabbits are fine, right, you know in my
- 8:08Speaker 7: mind like eventually I'll have armadillo one day. I've had
- 8:11Speaker 7: snake multiple times, crocodile, crocodile.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I think I've even had like shark somewhere blue whale,
- 8:18Speaker 2: which will probably get me struck by peda. But of course,
- 8:21Speaker 2: come on, my my six year old, no, my yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 2: my six year old loves octopus. Goes out of her
- 8:27Speaker 2: way to say, yeah, dad, give me the give me
- 8:29Speaker 2: the legs, and I know exactly what she's talking about.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I'm like, baby, Okay.
- 8:33Speaker 2: We also lived in Spain for three months, so like
- 8:35Speaker 2: I've opened up their minds to other things, you know,
- 8:37Speaker 2: lived in Spain and somewhere she became a fan of
- 8:39Speaker 2: of poopo, which is octopus, and she's.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Like, yeah, give it, that's funny. Yeah, monsters not what
- 8:44Speaker 3: I was eating when I was six.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, absolutely not.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out how to create a chip
- 8:49Speaker 2: for these kids, cause these kids are growing up like
- 8:52Speaker 2: the NIL era college kids, Like what do they actually
- 8:55Speaker 2: have to want?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Like the video game? Yeah they get those, like, you know,
- 9:00Speaker 1: don't have to worry about a food. I was going
- 9:01Speaker 1: to be there. Yeah, Like what where is their chip?
- 9:03Speaker 1: Their house? Amazing?
- 9:05Speaker 3: I know, I I often think about that.
- 9:08Speaker 6: I'm like, maybe when I'm done playing that we should
- 9:10Speaker 6: like move into like a you know, I don't know, yeah,
- 9:14Speaker 6: small little place just yeah, like hey, this is this
- 9:19Speaker 6: is like it's not just like you don't get to
- 9:21Speaker 6: just do whatever you want and have this cake little easy,
- 9:24Speaker 6: easy way in and out. But you know, I think
- 9:26Speaker 6: you just try to install those those that foundation and
- 9:30Speaker 6: and make sure that they understand, like you know that
- 9:32Speaker 6: you have to work hard and work for the things
- 9:34Speaker 6: you want, right, But it's hard to do.
- 9:35Speaker 2: It's hard to do, Like you can work hard and
- 9:37Speaker 2: do everything else, but you expect now to be rewarded.
- 9:40Speaker 6: I know, I know, I agree, it's it's tough, but
- 9:42Speaker 6: it makes you think differently when you have kids, right man.
- 9:44Speaker 2: That's all I'm like, I said, I'm trying to figure
- 9:46Speaker 2: this part out. I'm like, man, I've never had jay.
- 9:48Speaker 2: So I got to college and I bought them. My
- 9:51Speaker 2: kids came out like Jordan Brand athletes.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Yeah, every year they got a new pair every year,
- 9:56Speaker 6: like every three bucks.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Like oh man, like we got the family set, you know,
- 9:59Speaker 2: like it's it's a beautiful, awesome thing to do. But
- 10:02Speaker 2: I'm like, where's their chip? Anyways, I'm thinking, I'm thinking
- 10:07Speaker 2: in my in my line of working, I've seen you
- 10:09Speaker 2: start to grow in the space, which.
- 10:10Speaker 1: You never really did.
- 10:11Speaker 2: When I say space, the media space, Like, so you
- 10:13Speaker 2: see a future in the media, I mean the last
- 10:16Speaker 2: few years you started you started dabbling.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Yeah, no, I I really enjoy it. Definitely see a future.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I don't know what that looks like. But yeah, I
- 10:25Speaker 6: love talking.
- 10:25Speaker 3: About the ball.
- 10:27Speaker 6: I love meeting you guys talking about how they got
- 10:30Speaker 6: to where they are. I love all sports. So I
- 10:34Speaker 6: grew up playing four sports all the way through high school.
- 10:36Speaker 3: So yeah, so.
- 10:40Speaker 1: What's that Minnesota will be soccer?
- 10:42Speaker 3: We I never played soccer.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I was a soccer guy.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't know what it was.
- 10:48Speaker 6: I went to one soccer I have a soccer story,
- 10:50Speaker 6: but I went to one soccer practice when I was
- 10:53Speaker 6: probably five six years old, and my mom drops me off.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I get there.
- 10:59Speaker 6: The first thing we did was run laps around the
- 11:01Speaker 6: entire field, and I immediately never went back, never went
- 11:04Speaker 6: back to ever went to a soccer practice. Cover again,
- 11:07Speaker 6: like that, that's not me. Like, give me a ball
- 11:09Speaker 6: and give me a goal. I'm good, okay, But like
- 11:13Speaker 6: so the four sports football, basketball, baseball, and golf.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Oh wow, yep yep.
- 11:19Speaker 6: All the way through high school and then even even
- 11:21Speaker 6: my first year of college, came back and played summer
- 11:23Speaker 6: baseball just because I just I love to like I
- 11:25Speaker 6: love the.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Change of scenery. You know, I got a little add
- 11:28Speaker 3: you know.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, nobody's ever said, oh man, yours focus is so strong. No, no, no,
- 11:34Speaker 2: it's it's fleeting.
- 11:35Speaker 6: Yeah and so and so I just wanted to change
- 11:37Speaker 6: the pace. And then that made me excited.
- 11:38Speaker 3: You know.
- 11:39Speaker 6: When it went from football to basketball season, it was
- 11:42Speaker 6: like a whole new challenge and got to lock in
- 11:45Speaker 6: and you got to practice, and like you have this
- 11:47Speaker 6: urgency to get better quickly because you have like two
- 11:50Speaker 6: week break between football season and basketball season to like
- 11:53Speaker 6: get your skills, you know, freshened up. Where most of
- 11:56Speaker 6: the kids are just playing basketball. So they've been playing
- 11:59Speaker 6: all fall ball and all that. It's like, no, I'm
- 12:01Speaker 6: gonna find a way to be better than you with
- 12:03Speaker 6: two weeks of practice.
- 12:04Speaker 1: For sure.
- 12:05Speaker 2: It's the competitive in you. Like that's how we stay competitive.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I love the idea of like not singlely focusing on
- 12:12Speaker 2: one sport. Yeah, kids these days are like oh yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 2: like thirteen years old, like, yeah, I'll just play football,
- 12:16Speaker 2: tackle football.
- 12:17Speaker 1: How do you just play one sport?
- 12:19Speaker 6: I I have parents come up to me all the time, like,
- 12:22Speaker 6: you know, at watching my kids play sports.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Hey, what do you what do you think of them? Yeah?
- 12:25Speaker 6: What do you think about Like, well that too, but
- 12:28Speaker 6: you know, you get to like what do you think
- 12:29Speaker 6: about multi sports?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Do you think they should be specialized or not?
- 12:32Speaker 6: You know, but I always think it's like I wouldn't
- 12:34Speaker 6: be where I am without the sports I played, like
- 12:37Speaker 6: without basketball, Like most of what I do is from basketball, right,
- 12:40Speaker 6: body control and you know, being able to feel the
- 12:45Speaker 6: game and like feel the space around you is mostly
- 12:49Speaker 6: from basketball.
- 12:50Speaker 3: High pointing the ball and stuff like that.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Social awareness Yeah, yeah, absolutely. In soccer, you driven on
- 12:55Speaker 2: the ball, you have to be aware of not only
- 12:57Speaker 2: with the defender in front of you. But who's coming
- 12:59Speaker 2: for you? Yeah from the side, wow, crazy from you know,
- 13:04Speaker 2: from whatever the attack it is. I mean basketball, the
- 13:07Speaker 2: same way as you're drilling up, dribbling up the court,
- 13:09Speaker 2: you could have a trailer headed your way. You could have,
- 13:11Speaker 2: you know, a guy that you you try to pass to,
- 13:13Speaker 2: but oh man, you know you can't make a cross
- 13:14Speaker 2: court of pass. I'm like if I did, if I
- 13:16Speaker 2: just played football, just imagine just growing up a defensive lineman.
- 13:20Speaker 1: How shifty are you going to be?
- 13:21Speaker 2: Not so shifty if all you do is grow up
- 13:24Speaker 2: as a wide receiver. Yeah, you're gonna be fast and catch,
- 13:26Speaker 2: but like, are you gonna be able to be physical?
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:28Speaker 6: I always say like if I'm if I'm a scout
- 13:32Speaker 6: or if I'm a GM. Yeah, the first thing I'm
- 13:35Speaker 6: I'm watching is like, what what what they do in
- 13:37Speaker 6: high school basketball? Like were they scoring points where they
- 13:42Speaker 6: Like I don't want a guy that was a rebounder. Yeah,
- 13:44Speaker 6: I want a guy that was like dog getting the paint,
- 13:46Speaker 6: scoring points right, And like, that guy's gonna be good
- 13:49Speaker 6: receiver probably, And I want to I.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Want to know his mentality. Speaking of that, if you're

- 15:50Speaker 2: coach that understood technique, formation, recognition and help you in
- 15:55Speaker 2: those ways, you could become a better player. I'm I'm
