- 0:00SPEAKER_01: You know, Allie, it's uh it's a whole team effort.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: Uh and uh I think we have to remember that sometimes when one person is just not at the peak performance, the rest of the team comes along and wants to raise them up and and help them get across the uh finish line?
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: The well, that or the end zone line, because that's exactly what happened in California, where a deer scored a touchdown uh and here you go.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: This deer keeps going all the way.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: 20, a 15, the 10! Touchdown deer! Touchdown!
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: They're really great runners.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I've seen them like hip and hop all over I-86.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Oh, right in front of your car?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: I've seen more dead deer on the side of the road.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's rough.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Maybe they should uh make it onto the football field instead of I-86.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: That would be nice.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Um There's a lot of dinner that's on I-86 right now.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: More than I care for.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I don't know why.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: When I see roadkill.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: You don't see it often, but the truck that goes by and tosses them in.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: Oh, I know somebody that did that once.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there was uh That's the most Hector thing I've ever heard.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: No, that is the no, not that.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: I'm not talking the person that's like, well, that there's some fresh meat.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: We're gonna take it home.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: I'm talking you work for the city or the town.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: I've seen it, and you are the uh brand new guy.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: You're the new guy.
- 1:15SPEAKER_01: This is this does not happen to Hank, who's been there for 35 years, who gets to sit in the truck with his yellow shirt, of course.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: He's like, Tyler, get out there and get that shovel right out.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Get that raccoon and then you throw him up there.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: And then what do they do with them?
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I've always wondered.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Like a good question.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: Don't they have an incinerator somewhere?
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: I didn't know if it was an incinerator or if it's like.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: One one day a year.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Or is it that they have like uh an animal mound?
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Like the surface.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: It is a great question.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Does anybody have the answer to this?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: There's gotta be a spot.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: What do they do with all the roadkill that they pick up off the the side of the road?
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: I've seen the trucks doing this.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Like it's a rough job.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh, I it's a job I never want to.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: No, they can't disgust the thing.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that is true.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: What do they do?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Do they have a giant incinerator and they just, you know, I mean, it smells like a brisket cooking for, you know, 12 hours or I assumed it was a big pile somewhere.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, where um Wait till the aliens land and uncover that grave and be like, what creatures lived here?
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Because Cosella goes to the dump, right?
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: The one in Bath.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Uh Wow.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: I just heard every one of your lung bubbles collapse when you just took that breath.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Holy emphysema.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Totally about it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Can we please get an Holy Emphysema?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Thanks a lot, Scott.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: Can we get an O2 tank?
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: I have a wheeze.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I have a wheeze.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: You do.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Can I call you wheezy?
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Yes, you can.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: So anyway.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Um, back to this.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Back to if anyone knows the answer to this.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: Well, why not keep it gross?
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: You can.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, hold on.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: We got a text on this.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: I think they just chuck them in the tall grass behind the town building.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: No.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: No way.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Where are you texting from?
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Mansfield.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay, that would might make sense.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Okay, yes.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Maybe down there that's what they do.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: I was thinking, how well do you know Corning Painted Post?
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Because I you know where the last stand is, right?
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And it's by the middle school.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: So across the street is a residential neighborhood.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Now, I'm not saying this is the truth.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: I'm just this is where I think it goes.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: So there is a residential area, then there is a uh cemetery back there.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: All the way in the back.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And then past there.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: Not the pet cemetery, but the roadkill cemetery.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: And then there's, oh, how spooky, right as we're getting into Halloween.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Scott.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: And then there's a hiking trail over there.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: But I every time I hike back there, there's always these big trucks that come back there.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: And I bet you, is that where they're dumping them?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know the answer to that.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: I don't either.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I just know they pick them up from time to time.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, hold on a second.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Here's another text.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I was stuck behind one of the roadkill trucks exiting into Mansfield again.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I'm just a totally different person.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: And they said, and I had to pull over.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: The smell is so bad you could taste it.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: I love that expression, by the way.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: I know, me too.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Chewing on it.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Anyway, if anybody has the answer, if anyone.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: I really would like to know.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: What do you do with them?
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, how are they disposed of?
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Because there's got to be some process that doesn't contaminate a large area.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Or water or anything.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, get on the Wink106 app and send us a little message either with the notepad or the microphone.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, now we all want to know.
