- 0:00Speaker 1: But you gotta line up behind our president Donald Trump
- 0:03Speaker 1: at Davos. He's gonna be there with all the billionaires, kazilionaires,
- 0:08Speaker 1: masters of the universe. Leaders are what we call first
- 0:11Speaker 1: world countries. In Switzerland, which was always famous for being
- 0:16Speaker 1: neutral and where you could hide money in a Swiss
- 0:19Speaker 1: bank account and of also Swiss mess hot chocolate. You know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: the hawk is talking it's getting cold out there, It's
- 0:28Speaker 1: gonna get colder, and it so reminds me of Greenland.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I don't think they've ever had a demonstration in Greenland before,
- 0:37Speaker 1: but over the weekend we are not for sale and
- 0:40Speaker 1: signs up with their reindeers. No means now, that's something
- 0:45Speaker 1: that Andrew Cuomo never understood, right, No means no. Uh,
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yankee go home, Yankee go home. As if we were
- 0:54Speaker 1: talking about a third world country in Central or South America,
- 0:58Speaker 1: Greenland is all any great hands off us, say make
- 1:02Speaker 1: America go away. These were demonstrations against us in Greenland
- 1:09Speaker 1: and in our best ally in Europe, Denmark, in Copenhagen,
- 1:15Speaker 1: and they're all scratching their heads and saying, what you know,
- 1:19Speaker 1: with part of NATO, you want to hit us with
- 1:20Speaker 1: a ten percent tariff these tariffs are ridiculous. The US
- 1:25Speaker 1: Senate needs to grow a pair. That's their responsibility and
- 1:28Speaker 1: saying no, we have the responsibility to issue tariffs. You know,
- 1:33Speaker 1: everybody wants to talk about James Monroe, the Monroe Doctrine
- 1:36Speaker 1: now called the don Doctrine by President Trump. No, no, no,
- 1:40Speaker 1: The more important president is James Madison, who created the
- 1:43Speaker 1: balance in government because he said, you cannot trust any
- 1:47Speaker 1: group of individuals to make decisions that are beneficial to
- 1:51Speaker 1: the people. That has to be checks and balances. The
- 1:54Speaker 1: guy who wrote the Constitution, the guy who wrote the
- 1:56Speaker 1: Bill of Rights. Maybe some of you out there want
- 1:58Speaker 1: to do away with the Constitute, do away with the
- 2:01Speaker 1: Bill of Rights. This is nuts, I'm sure right now
- 2:08Speaker 1: someone in Hollywood is planning on creating a movie. We
- 2:13Speaker 1: had Canadian Bacon, you remember in nineteen ninety five, done
- 2:16Speaker 1: by yes, Michael Moore, the documentarian. But this was a
- 2:19Speaker 1: movie with John Candy. Do you remember Crash as Sheriff
- 2:23Speaker 1: Bud Boomer, who was absorbing all the propaganda campaign to
- 2:30Speaker 1: villify Canada by Alan Alter. The president who needed who
- 2:35Speaker 1: needed a boost in his popularity. Although I had nothing
- 2:39Speaker 1: to do with the midterm elections. I was RAI a
- 2:42Speaker 1: prol man. I remember Jim Blueshi Ripped torn Dan Ackleroyd,
- 2:46Speaker 1: now all the Canadian actors. That was a great movie.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And remember the headline, help America fight the Canadians. Well
- 2:57Speaker 1: wait a second, you know recently Trump did that when
- 3:00Speaker 1: Trudeau is still the Prime minister. Hopelessly liberal. He said
- 3:05Speaker 1: he wanted to annext Canada and make it the fifty
- 3:07Speaker 1: first state. He said, Canada will dissolve without the Ussay. Well, then,
- 3:14Speaker 1: as I gotta tell you, I'm out in the streets
- 3:17Speaker 1: every day you go to Times Square, you get a
- 3:19Speaker 1: pretty good litmus tessue of the tourists who are coming in.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Tourism is down. The one group that always used to come,
- 3:24Speaker 1: that love coming to New York City, Canadians. Yeah, they're
- 3:28Speaker 1: not coming that much anymore. I wonder why, what is
- 3:33Speaker 1: wrong with our president? What happened to America? First? You know,
- 3:38Speaker 1: let's take care of things here in the USA course
- 3:41Speaker 1: of living, I mean, the affordability jobs for America. Let's
- 3:48Speaker 1: focus on America first. Now it's America wants to rule
- 3:51Speaker 1: the world. And I don't know about some of you,
- 3:56Speaker 1: maybe you're all into this. Maybe whatever way thes you're
- 4:01Speaker 1: on board. You're like high fiving him for this, and
- 4:06Speaker 1: you know there wasn't the attempt. Think back. A lot
- 4:09Speaker 1: of you aren't thinking back. He's always had this obsession
- 4:12Speaker 1: with Greenland. In his first term of office, he wanted Greenland.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And remember I think it was right after Hurricane Maria.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Hurricane Maria that was like twenty seventeen and
- 4:25Speaker 1: the like devastated Puerto Rico and he goes, ah, that's
- 4:28Speaker 1: costing us too much money to repair Puerto Rico. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: they've had an earthquake, they've had hurricane Why don't we
- 4:35Speaker 1: just swap Greenland for Puerto Rico. I'm asking you right now,
- 4:40Speaker 1: in this Arctic fridge, where would you rather be crashed
- 4:44Speaker 1: in Puerto Rico or Greenland? I think we know where
- 4:47Speaker 1: most Americans would go, Puerto Rico. And I remember he
- 4:52Speaker 1: had his fellow classmate, a Wharton School of Business, Ron Lauder,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you know, the cosmetics guy who had known Trump quite well,
- 5:02Speaker 1: will in New York, and he tried to convince President
- 5:06Speaker 1: Trump at the time of his first term I think
- 5:09Speaker 1: it was twenty seventeen or twenty eighteen swap Puerto Rico
- 5:14Speaker 1: for Greenland. This unbelievable obsession with Greenland, unbelievable obsession in
- 5:22Speaker 1: having a Nobel Peace Prize, and an unbelievable obsession of
- 5:27Speaker 1: not knowing the history of Eric the Red leaf ericson
- 5:35Speaker 1: how the Norsemen actually went west and they weren't trying
- 5:38Speaker 1: to find the east like Christopher Columbus five hundred years later.
- 5:43Speaker 1: And you know you could learn all this the annual parade.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, bay Ridge, you had no did you know
- 5:48Speaker 1: that crash? You know they have the Norwegian parade there
- 5:52Speaker 1: up third fourth Avenue in honor of leaf Ericson. They
- 5:55Speaker 1: stopped in the park there at like sixty eighth and
- 5:58Speaker 1: Erica read, Oh quite story. Maybe Americans need to go
- 6:04Speaker 1: back and study history and understand why our president couldn't
- 6:09Speaker 1: be more hopelessly wrong on this. So you can rise
- 6:13Speaker 1: to the occasion, you could explain to me on this
- 6:16Speaker 1: your time to be heard. Why, as the President has
- 6:21Speaker 1: told the Prime Minister of Norway, which by the way,
- 6:25Speaker 1: has nothing at all to do with Greenland, that it
- 6:29Speaker 1: is up to us to seize Greenland in the United
- 6:33Speaker 1: States to provide security for the world. Yeah, And have
- 6:41Speaker 1: I heard anybody challenge it? Other than Democrats. Obviously, they'll
- 6:45Speaker 1: challenge everything that Trump said. No, no, no, You know,
- 6:47Speaker 1: fellow Republicans, independence, people who believe that you process information
- 6:55Speaker 1: have it. It don't sound right. I guarantee you it
- 6:58Speaker 1: ain't right. One ain't one hundred three two one zero
- 7:01Speaker 1: seven ten. That's one eight hundred three two one zero
- 7:05Speaker 1: seven ten. Curtis Leewan from Mark Simone Today on the
