- 0:12SPEAKER_01: And we're doing an investigation here at Hunter's Tavern, uh, previously known as Hunter's Inn in Trumbull Township.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: So uh we got access by Mike and Patty to come in here, meet everybody, uh, see if we can talk to some old souls in here.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: So we also have Sammy joining the investigation, Ryan, who's not on the camera right now, and as you all know, Bird.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: So uh Becca, tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: Uh, what brought you in today?
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Well, first and foremost, hi guys, I'm Becca Freshly.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It's so nice to meet you.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: If you want to catch me, come follow me on BeccaFresh.com or any social media, Becca Freshly.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited to be here.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm living out a little childhood fantasy because a little Becca loved ghost hunts.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: My first ghost hunt was in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna give you guys a little behind the scenes of my life that most people don't know about me.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: I was actually a Civil War reenactor and I did Living History.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: So I got to gotta Ooh, excuse me.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: I got to go to a lot of really cool places.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: My first ghost tour was actually in Gettysburg on the battlefield in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: And Devil's Den.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And oh my goodness.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: That was dark.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: That was a very oh it was like a a fog of darkness, but you could see everything.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: It was crazy.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Just heavy.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Heavy.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Heavy.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: It's like somebody put like 50 weighted blankets on you and it's like, okay, walk.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: We we've talked about that before too, where you know, a lot of people feel that uh maybe spirits are still involved in the reenactment- not reenactments, obviously, but those that passed are still on the battlefield.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: They still see and feel everything that happened before.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: Do you believe in that too?
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Did you get a sense of that or just the heavy feeling of death or we absolutely it's a joke in the reenacting community that we are dressing up as them and then they think that it's normal.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Except, what are these cars?
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: What are these people?
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Like, there's been pictures where I could swear, like, there's just like this random little sliver in the marching line filling up an extra slot at the end of the line, and I'm like, wow, that parade was during the day.
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Like, why is there a random line in it?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: I wish I had that picture.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: My dad's got it.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So how uh when did you get out of that?
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Uh the reenactments.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Um, about when I turned 16.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, I still have a little bit of involvement in it.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I actually work for for I'm I'm sorry, not work, but I belong to a government chartered organization for that civil war.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so very interesting.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: We go around, we attend different gravestones of the um Union and Confederate soldiers, but mostly the Union.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So yeah, we'll travel around to different places, and I was actually able to be blessed and go to Washington, DC and go there uh with my dad and my mom.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: The energy there, it's an old town, it's so heavy.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: It it felt like Gettysburg, you know?
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: It's cool to be able to travel to all these places and feel the different types of vibes, energies, dark, heavy, light, they all have something, and that's why I love it.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: It's every different place, there's something interesting.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: So you you mentioned Devil's Den.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Was that your favorite part of being in Gettysburg, or was there anywhere else that you'd like to speak on?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: I love all of Gettysburg.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Um, there's so the Jenny Wade House, which that's so popular, you know about the Jenny Wade House.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Your girl stuck her finger in the hole.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I didn't oh that sounded bad.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: It's not like that.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Promise, promise.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: But there's a bullet hole you stick your finger in, and it's said, do you know the legend?
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: No.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: So it's said that if you stick your finger in the hole, that you'll only be blessed with one marriage.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: I believe that I believe that's what it is.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: I would love for you guys to correct me if I'm wrong.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: I I'll admit when I'm wrong, but it has something to do with like love, marriage, finding a boyfriend, something of that nature.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Don't remember?
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I was like eight years old when it happened.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: I'm almost 30 now, so a couple decades later I'm a little rusty.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: Well, I failed.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: I when I was there and did the tour, should have stuck my finger in the hole at Gettysburg.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: You too.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Saved me a couple hundreds.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Boys!
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: But anyways, yeah, so that that location actually, I went on a ghost tour down there, and they said it's the eighth most haunted place in the United States.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I believe it.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: Jenny Wade House.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I believe it.
- 4:51SPEAKER_01: So shout out to them.
- 4:53SPEAKER_01: We'll be out there sometime, I'm sure, right, Ryan?
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: I'd love that.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: You probably already have it planned somewhere down the road.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: May I suggest we go during Remembrance Day weekend?
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: When's it?
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: I believe in November.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: I was just holding it.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, colder the better for Ryan.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: But I could do some talks and we could probably get something going where it's pretty cool.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Maybe in the future.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Wow, would you influence others to let us go down there?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Let's see what you do there.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, did you like that?
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: Wow, that was snazzy.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: Yep, yep.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: If you haven't caught it.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Smart on his feet.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Influencer.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: That's what the government classifies me as, anyway.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: So Okay.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: The government.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Let's not talk about them.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: So uh what um so obviously I reached out to you, um, just wanted to get you involved with our group, and you actually volunteered to come out here and do a podcast, and then you were like, hey, if you're ever gonna do an investigation, I'd love to do one.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: So besides the Civil War reenactments, what what brought you into spirits and I know you talked a little bit about religion before the podcast started, so would you like to speak on that?
- 6:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so um I've been pretty spiritual and in tune my whole life.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, even as a child, I would say things that would spook my parents.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: And um there was a time where I wasn't religious and it was very dark and very deep in my life, and um it I was in a room full of demons, and the only familiar face was God's face, and that gave me the confidence to come here tonight and know and f completely know I will be safe no matter what, because God's got my back.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Absolutely no matter what.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: So that's my complete view on things.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: I've seen demons, I've seen darkness, they've they've I've seen a whole room of them, and then you see God, and it's just like dad, you know what I mean?
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: I've always been a daddy's little girl to my own dad.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: He's an embodiment of God, and so is I'm I'm just so blessed.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Well, that's gotta be comforting then coming in here.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: So uh that we don't expect, so coming in here, um, we're gonna meet with Mike and Patty, the owners of this building.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: Uh, they just took over about four to six months ago.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so they're new to it.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Uh mentioned that we did the ghost hunt, they actually follow our podcast.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: That scared me.
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: There's a guy trying to get in right now, guys.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: And the door's locked, and all you see is a little head and a hat peeking around.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Whew! My heart rate just spiked.
- 7:39SPEAKER_00: We're all just like looking at it now, waiting for her to come back.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: I didn't know what was going on.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: Um I'm talking about Patty and Mike, and all of a sudden everybody goes crazy.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: So, anyways, um they follow our podcast uh in our group and they watch everything we do.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And I was bringing it up when I was actually here drinking water at this bar.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Yes, water, heavy water drinker.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: Don't touch bourbon, not a fan.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: But, anyways, uh talked to them about this.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: They asked if we did anything local, and that's when we uh talked about coming in here, and they actually gave us the access to this place, which I don't believe anybody's ever done an investigation here, and we've been doing a lot of new places lately.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Uh Ryan's kind of authorized us to try to go out and find our own haunts and uh set up our own things within the group to diversitize.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: So cool.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Thanks for the leeway, Ryan.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: Like this sounds really fun, so we're the first.
- 8:40SPEAKER_01: The first here that I know of, so this will be uh a big thing for them with advertising and you know history.
- 8:47SPEAKER_01: So uh we took a couple pictures that we'll add to the podcast later on from horse and carriage to the 50s up on the wall.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: So the 50s slash 60s.
- 9:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Alright, so uh Sammy, anything to add that any feelings that you got when you walked in today?
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: No, I didn't get any.
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Nothing walking in?
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: Nobody breathed in your ear here yet?
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: No.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: Not yet.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: What about you, Becca, when you walked in?
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: What was your feeling walking in the building?
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Walking into the building, I definitely it's not that I didn't feel uninvited.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: I just felt like something's hanging out.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: And so I walked in.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: I was just looking, observing, looking at the different things.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: A few things caught my eye.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: And I don't know if you see what's back behind us, but there's a piano over there.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: And what's the device that we have on that right now?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: What do we have?
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: EMF.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: Okay, so there's that on there.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: And I walked in the middle of the area.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: I was, I don't know, what about two feet away?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: You would say two, three feet away, and it just started going off immediately when I walked up, and I'm like, oh wait, maybe it's my phones, maybe it's my watch, you know.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: I want to debunk this.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: So I take everything off and I go back over, and it doesn't do anything.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: So we bring our phones back and we're trying to get it go.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: It does a little bit right when we get next to it, and then it stops.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: And I was like, interesting.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: And that was right after we were talking about how we wanted them to play the piano for us tonight.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: So that would be really cool if that happened.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: But either way, that was a really cool, like first interaction.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: I mean, I believe I caught it on camera, so if I did, hopefully we can insert the footage now.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: But if not, y'all have to take my word for it.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Take her word for it.
- 10:37SPEAKER_01: Alright, but anyways, uh, we just wanted to get this uh pre-interview done with you, Becca, um, before we start the investigation.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: You'll be here with us for a couple hours.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and uh soon we'll be going dark, lights out.
- 10:49SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do a quick tour with the owners after we insert them into the next podcast here for a short little talk through, and uh hopefully we'll get some answers for them and the public here in Trouble Township.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was so great to meet you guys.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited for tonight's investigation.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Let's go!
