- 0:56Speaker 2: of this podcast delivered right to your phone, tablet, or

- 1:03Speaker 2: greatest thing since freezing cold takes. One of the most
- 1:09Speaker 2: amusing Twitter handles to follow is at Old Takes Exposed.
- 1:13Speaker 2: It's devoted to finding and sharing strong opinions expressed by
- 1:17Speaker 2: members of the media that turned out to be horribly wrong.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I thought about it this week while preparing for the
- 1:23Speaker 2: Cincinnati Washington game, because if you remember the twenty twenty draft,
- 1:28Speaker 2: quite a few people expressed the opinion that the Bengals
- 1:31Speaker 2: should not draft Joe Burrow with a number one pick,
- 1:34Speaker 2: they should take defensive end Chase Young. With all due
- 1:38Speaker 2: respect to Young, who has been to a Pro Bowl,
- 1:41Speaker 2: I think everybody would agree that the Bengals got it right.
- 1:45Speaker 2: You can still find those freezing cold takes on the Internet,
- 1:48Speaker 2: including a radio show appearance by none other than Carson Palmer,
- 1:52Speaker 2: who made the case that the Bengal should take the
- 1:55Speaker 2: pass rusher since they already had Andy Dalton at quarterback.
- 2:00Speaker 2: All due respect to the Red Rifle, who's been to
- 2:02Speaker 2: three Pro Bowls, I think everybody would agree that the
- 2:05Speaker 2: Bengals got it right. Now, let's get to Saturday's preseason
- 2:09Speaker 2: finale at FedEx Field. On their first twenty two possessions
- 2:13Speaker 2: of the preseason, the Bengals did not score an offensive touchdown.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That streak ended on their final drive last week in Atlanta,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and on their first drive in Washington, the Bengals found
- 2:24Speaker 2: the end zone again. Bengals do not have a touchdown
- 2:27Speaker 2: pass yet in the preseason, they'll send two receivers out
- 2:30Speaker 2: to each side of the formation. Browning catches a shoulder
- 2:33Speaker 2: high snap, scanning the field, throws over them all, leaping
- 2:37Speaker 2: catch by Yo Si Vosh touchdown, and andre Yosi Vosh
- 2:42Speaker 2: is doing the gritty Jamar Chase style in the back
- 2:46Speaker 2: of the end zone. Jake Browning was in for the
- 2:48Speaker 2: first two series and went six for six for forty
- 2:51Speaker 2: two yards. In that touchdown. He appears to have wrapped
- 2:54Speaker 2: up the backup quarterback job and spoke to Dave Lapham
- 2:57Speaker 2: after the game.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Play about as high level as you could possibly play
- 3:02Speaker 3: in a competitive situation.
- 3:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, you're we're gonna play perfect. But I
- 3:07Speaker 4: feel pretty good about what I put on tape and
- 3:09Speaker 4: all that, and practice has been going well, so we'll
- 3:11Speaker 4: see those thing shakes out and yeah, it's always a
- 3:14Speaker 4: good feling film like you played well and put your
- 3:16Speaker 4: best so forward.
- 3:17Speaker 3: You feel like you're seeing the field really well. I
- 3:19Speaker 3: mean you' getting the ball out of your hand pretty quickly. Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 4: I think it helps to be in my third year
- 3:24Speaker 4: in this offense. Watch Joe operate a lot and be
- 3:29Speaker 4: really engaged throughout the last couple of years on Peace
- 3:31Speaker 4: squad and see how he operates and try and mimic
- 3:34Speaker 4: it because it obviously works for him.
- 3:36Speaker 3: What about this offense? What are the expectations do you
- 3:39Speaker 3: think for this offensive football team this year?
- 3:41Speaker 4: I mean that's more of a Joe question, but I
- 3:43Speaker 4: think always the expectation offense is going to be high,
- 3:46Speaker 4: and the expectation in the locker room for offense and
- 3:48Speaker 4: defenses is high and high expectations.
- 3:51Speaker 1: But one game at a.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Time, graduations on big performances. Thank you.
- 3:57Speaker 2: It was seven nothing Bengals after a quarter, but veteran
- 4:00Speaker 2: Washington quarterback Jacoby Brissett tied the game in the second,
- 4:04Speaker 2: moves up in the pocket, avoids a hit, fires deep downfield.
- 4:07Speaker 2: It's got a wide open receiver at the ten who
- 4:10Speaker 2: makes the catch, spins away and takes it into the
- 4:14Speaker 2: end zone for a touchdown. Mitchell Timsley with a touchdown
- 4:19Speaker 2: catch for Washington.
- 4:21Speaker 3: And Jordan Battle is the one who missed the tackle
- 4:24Speaker 3: at the five yard line. He tried to put a
- 4:27Speaker 3: pretty big hit on him at that point. Don't try
- 4:30Speaker 3: to put a crushing glow on him, just grab him
- 4:34Speaker 3: and get him on the ground.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Trevor Simeon took over at quarterback on the Bengals third
- 4:38Speaker 2: drive and promptly drove the team into field goal range
- 4:41Speaker 2: for Evan McPherson. Then again, Evan is within range as
- 4:46Speaker 2: soon as he walks into the stadium, The snap, the placement,
- 4:49Speaker 2: and the kick a high spinning, end over end kick
- 4:52Speaker 2: and it is good from fifty eight yards away from
- 4:57Speaker 2: Money Mack and the Bengals take ten to seven lead,
- 5:01Speaker 2: and it looked like they would add to that lead
- 5:03Speaker 2: the next time they got the ball. As the Bengals
- 5:05Speaker 2: drove from their own fourteen to the Washington twenty six
- 5:09Speaker 2: with twenty three seconds left in the half, Simeon fakes left,
- 5:13Speaker 2: throws it deep, and it is pated around and picked
- 5:18Speaker 2: off in the end zone by Washington Chase Whittaker winds
- 5:22Speaker 2: up with a football after it got deflected. Although the
- 5:26Speaker 2: Bengals did not score on that drive, they got a
- 5:29Speaker 2: good look at an undrafted rookie running back out of
- 5:32Speaker 2: East Tennessee State who did not get the ball in
- 5:34Speaker 2: the first two preseason games Jacob Sailors. He finished with
- 5:39Speaker 2: nine carries for twenty seven yards and added two catches
- 5:42Speaker 2: for fourteen more. He also had a long run wiped
- 5:45Speaker 2: out by a penalty. I spoke to him after the game.
- 5:50Speaker 2: How did it feel to finally get that opportunity?
- 5:52Speaker 1: You know? It was fun?
- 5:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it was great gratefulfillings as being out there after
- 5:56Speaker 5: just preparing for so long and as us waiting for
- 5:58Speaker 5: an opportunity.
- 5:59Speaker 3: You know.
- 6:00Speaker 5: And I love the game of football, regardless of if
- 6:02Speaker 5: I got the ball in my hands or not. But
- 6:03Speaker 5: I'm confident that's what I do best as a football player,
- 6:06Speaker 5: So I was I'm just.
- 6:07Speaker 6: Blessed that I got to display that on this type
- 6:09Speaker 6: of stage.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm sure you were. You know, the butterflies were going
- 6:12Speaker 2: before you got that tap on the shoulder and they
- 6:14Speaker 2: said go on in there and show us what you
- 6:16Speaker 2: can do. What was the feeling like when they gave
- 6:20Speaker 2: you the green light and you knew you were going
- 6:21Speaker 2: in the.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Game, feeling this incredible focus. You know, let's make sure
- 6:26Speaker 5: this is the one opportunity that I've prepared essentially since
- 6:28Speaker 5: I was five years old for, and I just wanted
- 6:31Speaker 5: to make sure that I left it all out on
- 6:33Speaker 5: the field, a model that got me where I am
- 6:35Speaker 5: today is no doubt, and I just wanted to make
- 6:38Speaker 5: sure when I walked off the field, I left no
- 6:40Speaker 5: doubt and just being the best teammate, I could be
- 6:42Speaker 5: the best player everything representation of the Bengals organization.
- 6:46Speaker 6: And I'm confident that I displayed that.
- 6:48Speaker 2: We're talking to Jacob Sailors. You had some good runs.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Unfortunately the best one got knocked out by a penalty
- 6:54Speaker 2: at twenty seven yard run. But as my broadcast partner
- 6:57Speaker 2: Dave Lapham pointed out, that film still exists. Yes, sir,
- 7:00Speaker 2: the Bengals and every team in the league is going
- 7:02Speaker 2: to see what you did on that run.
- 7:04Speaker 5: Absolutely, and uh, I'm just grateful that I got that
- 7:06Speaker 5: opportunity and uh, let let the my my talents take over.
- 7:12Speaker 5: I'm just blessed that my office a line was able
- 7:14Speaker 5: to clear away for me and the receiver's block well downfield.
- 7:17Speaker 5: So that's what it takes for a team to have
- 7:20Speaker 5: a successful play, and I'm just blessed that I was
- 7:22Speaker 5: in that situation at that time.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Did your heart drop when when you heard that there
- 7:26Speaker 2: was a flag?
- 7:28Speaker 7: Uh?
- 7:28Speaker 5: You know it wasn't so much that a job, you know,
- 7:31Speaker 5: just upset, a little disappointed, but at the end of
- 7:34Speaker 5: the day, it.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Was grateful to be honest.
- 7:37Speaker 2: So next forty eight hours, seventy two hours or nerve
- 7:41Speaker 2: wracking time for everybody in your position throughout the NFL,
- 7:45Speaker 2: how are you going to dealing with for the next
- 7:46Speaker 2: few days.
- 7:47Speaker 5: I'm just gonna encourage myself through the grace of God,
- 7:51Speaker 5: talk to people that helped got me to where I
- 7:53Speaker 5: am today, and without them I'd be going crazy, you know,
- 7:58Speaker 5: just being in this situation, the doubt that naturally creeps
- 8:01Speaker 5: in and not the not knowing. But I'm just gonna
- 8:05Speaker 5: engolve myself and the grace of God and whatever he
- 8:08Speaker 5: sees fit, he's.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Going to carry it out, and I'm okay with him.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Quite a good show and tape. Congratulations, appreciate it. That's
- 8:14Speaker 2: running back Jacob Sailors. The Bengals fell behind for the
- 8:18Speaker 2: first time in the third quarter when former Georgia quarterback
- 8:21Speaker 2: Jake from who should replace Aaron Rodgers in State Farm
- 8:25Speaker 2: ads so it could be Jake from State Farm through
- 8:29Speaker 2: this touchdown pass first and goal less than a yard
- 8:33Speaker 2: away for the Commanders from Catches a shotgun snap, throws
- 8:37Speaker 2: a pass out to the right and the wide open
- 8:40Speaker 2: receiver makes the catch for the Washington td It is
- 8:44Speaker 2: Bryson Tremaine, who had five yards of separation over near
- 8:49Speaker 2: the forward right pylon. At the end of the third quarter,
- 8:52Speaker 2: it was Washington fourteen Cincinnati ten. In the fourth, Simeon's
- 8:57Speaker 2: final drivet quarterback ended with a short field goal by
- 9:00Speaker 2: McPherson to make it fourteen thirteen. But Jake from State
- 9:04Speaker 2: Farm I can't stop saying it struck again from will
- 9:08Speaker 2: look to throw his pass over the middle cut for
- 9:11Speaker 2: the touchdown by tight end Brandon Dillon.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Well, the Bengals just played zone defense at the seven
- 9:19Speaker 3: yard line. Everybody just dropped back inside the goal line.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I mean they tried to form a pick of fence
- 9:26Speaker 3: at the goal line basically, and you know there were
- 9:30Speaker 3: holes there. Receivers just run down and hook it up
- 9:34Speaker 3: between two defenders and its touchdown pass.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The two Washington quarterbacks finished with three touchdown passes, no picks,
- 9:41Speaker 2: and a passer rating of one twenty point eight against
- 9:44Speaker 2: the Bengals secondary that was light on cornerbacks, Like all
- 9:48Speaker 2: of the starters on both sides of the ball, Chitabayo, Wooge,
- 9:51Speaker 2: Cam Taylor, brit and Mike Hilton didn't play. Additionally, Dj Turner,
- 9:56Speaker 2: Sidney Jones, and Marvel Tell were out with minor injuries
- 10:00Speaker 2: that left three corners dj Ivy, Alan George and Jalen Davis,
- 10:05Speaker 2: and the Bengals pulled Davis early in the game to
- 10:09Speaker 2: make sure that he didn't get hurt. Thirty three year
- 10:11Speaker 2: old Mike Thomas, who's been a safety for the bulk
- 10:14Speaker 2: of his twelve NFL seasons, played most of the game
- 10:17Speaker 2: out of position at slot corner. Dave Lapham shares his
- 10:21Speaker 2: thoughts on Mike Thomas's value later in the podcast. Down
- 10:26Speaker 2: by eight with ten minutes to go, the Bengals turned
- 10:28Speaker 2: to third string quarterback Reed Senate, who was added to
- 10:32Speaker 2: the roster after Joe Burrows strained his calf on the
- 10:35Speaker 2: second day of training camp. Sinnate finished the preseason tied
- 10:39Speaker 2: for the team lead in touchdown passes. He catches a
- 10:42Speaker 2: shotgun snap, He's gonna throw it high end, gut him,
- 10:45Speaker 2: nobody near shut With Jackson touchdown, Bengals a thirty four
- 10:51Speaker 2: yard touchdown strike. Now the Bengals can go for two
- 10:56Speaker 2: and try to tie the score.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Boy, you talk about a blown coverage man Chevitz, I
- 11:01Speaker 3: mean he was twenty yards open.
- 11:03Speaker 2: It was one of those plays where the receiver is
- 11:06Speaker 2: so open that you worry that he's going to drop
- 11:09Speaker 2: the ball. Here's Shadwick Jackson.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, those are the hard ones for sure.
- 11:13Speaker 6: You know ran my route.
- 11:14Speaker 8: I seen it kind of blowing the cover as I
- 11:16Speaker 8: knew I was wide open, as I saw in the ball,
- 11:18Speaker 8: and there I got to do after that as was focus.
- 11:20Speaker 1: On that and you know, get his own.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Can you describe the feeling of catching an NFL touchdown
- 11:25Speaker 2: pass even though it was a preseason game.
- 11:27Speaker 8: Yeah, that was a great feeling, no matter the circumstances
- 11:30Speaker 8: of the preseason regular season. And like I said before,
- 11:33Speaker 8: these got just give me a chance. Fan was a
- 11:36Speaker 8: great team with a lot of great teammates, so it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Was very fun.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Jackson finished the preseason with nine catches for one hundred
- 11:42Speaker 2: and twelve yards and as a strong candidate to make
- 11:45Speaker 2: the practice squad. The Bengals failed on the two point
- 11:48Speaker 2: conversion attempt and trailed twenty one to nineteen with six
- 11:53Speaker 2: and a half minutes to go, and the Bengals defense
- 11:55Speaker 2: get the ball back for the offense on third down
- 11:57Speaker 2: and nine near midfield, drops back to throw against the
- 12:01Speaker 2: format rush. He gets head and sacked brought down. Raymond
- 12:06Speaker 2: Johnson was there. Gunter was nearby. The Bengals defense gets
- 12:11Speaker 2: a huge sack and Washington will punt with less than
- 12:15Speaker 2: four minutes to go. It gave Sennate a chance to
- 12:17Speaker 2: be the hero, and he drove the Bengals to the
- 12:19Speaker 2: forty yard line. With two minutes to go. They were
- 12:22Speaker 2: about twenty yards away from giving McPherson a shot at
- 12:26Speaker 2: a game winning field goal, but a sack and two
- 12:29Speaker 2: incomplete passes led to this fourth down and fifteen Shotgun
- 12:34Speaker 2: Snapp to Senate, he's back to throw. He's gonna fire
- 12:37Speaker 2: deep downfield for Schdrick Jackson broken up incomplete, no penalty flag,
- 12:43Speaker 2: and Washington will take over with one forty to go.
- 12:47Speaker 2: The final score Washington twenty one, Cincinnati nineteen. The Commanders
- 12:51Speaker 2: won all three of their preseason games. The Bengals went
- 12:55Speaker 2: two and one. If I had to pick a preseason MVP,
- 12:59Speaker 2: i'd with rookie wide receiver andre Yosi Bosh. He led
- 13:03Speaker 2: the team with twelve catches for one hundred and twenty
- 13:05Speaker 2: nine yards in a touchdown, and I spoke to the
- 13:08Speaker 2: sixth round draft pick out of Princeton after the game.
- 13:12Speaker 2: We're in the locker room, wide receiver Andre Yo si Vosh,
- 13:14Speaker 2: who caught his first touchdown pass albeit the preseason. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 2: you interrupted me to say preseason. You're not counting it.
- 13:22Speaker 3: No.
- 13:22Speaker 9: I mean it's nice you note again the end zone
- 13:24Speaker 9: to help your team win in the preseason, but you know,
- 13:26Speaker 9: I just want to get there on the real Sundays
- 13:29Speaker 9: and you know, help my team in that way as well.
- 13:31Speaker 9: So I appreciate this one, but the room oneses still coming.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You'll get your chance in fifteen days and hopefully you
- 13:36Speaker 2: have one in Cleveland. Tell us about that play, though,
- 13:38Speaker 2: because you got wide open the back of the end zone.
- 13:42Speaker 9: Yeah, they seem I mean they literally they're running man,
- 13:44Speaker 9: and I think they switched off because TT ran out.
- 13:47Speaker 9: But I don't think they're supposed to switch off, And
- 13:49Speaker 9: so I just ran free and I just hopped up
- 13:51Speaker 9: and back the ball.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Jake Browning put it in a spot where, had there
- 13:54Speaker 2: been somebody nearby, you could have used your height and
- 13:57Speaker 2: your fathing ability to go up and get Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 9: I think he was probably just you seing a little
- 14:00Speaker 9: bits in case somebody is on me, see if I
- 14:02Speaker 9: can make the play, and yeah, it's a good ball
- 14:04Speaker 9: from you, I could get it. So I'm just glad
- 14:06Speaker 9: I came down with it.
- 14:07Speaker 2: We're chatting with andre yoci Bosh. How would you describe
- 14:09Speaker 2: your preseason?
- 14:10Speaker 9: It was good, you know, I have made some good plays,
- 14:13Speaker 9: had some plays where I need to learn from, you know,
- 14:15Speaker 9: just learning from us. Skill errors, technique errors, even just
- 14:19Speaker 9: play errors. You know, just all learning so I don't
- 14:22Speaker 9: make the same mistake twice, you know, don't make the
- 14:23Speaker 9: run the wrong routes on some plays. And it's been
- 14:27Speaker 9: up and down, but in my mind it's all up
- 14:29Speaker 9: because I'm always learning.
- 14:31Speaker 2: I think a lot of people said when you were picked,
- 14:33Speaker 2: can he make this step up from IVY League competition
- 14:37Speaker 2: to NFL competition? How quickly did you realize, yeah, I
- 14:40Speaker 2: can played this level.
- 14:41Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I think OTAs was a
- 14:44Speaker 9: good indicator of that when I first came. You know,
- 14:46Speaker 9: I knew my athletic prowess and it's just about getting
- 14:49Speaker 9: the skilled down and I have confidence in myself to
- 14:51Speaker 9: get the skills down and just facing more press than
- 14:53Speaker 9: I have facing the IVY League which I have the
- 14:55Speaker 9: physical abilities to do, and it's just all learning. And
- 14:58Speaker 9: I think that once I got here fro Tias, I
- 15:01Speaker 9: was pretty a set in who I was.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I would assume you don't have much to worry about
- 15:06Speaker 2: over the next few days in terms of making the roster.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Do you feel pretty comfortable.
- 15:10Speaker 9: I'm not sure you to be honest, you know, I
- 15:12Speaker 9: still play out there like I'm trying to make the
- 15:14Speaker 9: fifty three because we have a lot of receivers, so
- 15:16Speaker 9: I'm still not really sure how the numbers work, you know.
- 15:19Speaker 9: But I'm just hoping for the best, and I'm just
- 15:20Speaker 9: hoping I'm going to be a bengu You've.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Had a great camp, great game tonight. Congratulations.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Thank you.
- 15:27Speaker 2: It seems appropriate that the Bengals appeared to have found
- 15:30Speaker 2: a gem in the sixth round of the draft this year,
- 15:33Speaker 2: since recently inducted Hall of Famer Ken Riley was also
- 15:36Speaker 2: a sixth round draft pick back in nineteen sixty nine.
- 15:40Speaker 2: The Bengals Booth Podcast is brought to you by Bengals

- 15:50Speaker 2: app There were two injuries of note on Saturday. Joseph
- 15:54Speaker 2: Osai hurt his right ankle and Deontay Smith heard his
- 15:57Speaker 2: left shoulder. Neither appeared to be in bad shape after
- 16:01Speaker 2: the game, but we'll have to wait and see. Dave
- 16:04Speaker 2: Lapham caught up with Zach Taylor.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Preseasons. Over coach, it's over. What are your what are
- 16:12Speaker 3: your thoughts at this point in time?
- 16:13Speaker 7: I thought the guys competed hard, gave us a chance
- 16:15Speaker 7: at the end, got ourselves in some good situations that
- 16:17Speaker 7: we'll learn from as a team.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Beneficial for the entire team.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Jake Browning, I was just talking with him a little
- 16:24Speaker 3: bit and get in the Atlanta game, he six of
- 16:27Speaker 3: his eight plays on his touchdown drive went for first downs.
- 16:30Speaker 3: He goes four for four for forty two yards, rushes
- 16:32Speaker 3: a couple of times for thirty three more. Tonight goes
- 16:35Speaker 3: six for six for forty two and a touchdown. So
- 16:38Speaker 3: in the last couple of quarters, ten for ten eighty
- 16:40Speaker 3: four yards and a touchdown, rush for thirty three more.
- 16:42Speaker 3: He responded big time.
- 16:43Speaker 7: Yeah, good to see. You know his job is protect
- 16:45Speaker 7: the football and put us in the end zone. And
- 16:47Speaker 7: I thought he's done a nice shot by that, so.
- 16:51Speaker 3: I know you were more than hamstrung on the back end.
- 16:53Speaker 3: You only had three cornerbacks available to you. What about
- 16:56Speaker 3: Mike Thomas doing everything that he's asked to do. I mean,
- 16:59Speaker 3: that guy. Any team is a better football team with
- 17:02Speaker 3: that guy as part of it, isn't he.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Yeah, there's no question, you know, that's why he's been
- 17:05Speaker 7: such a key part of what we've done here the
- 17:07Speaker 7: last couple of years. And everybody in the team loves him,
- 17:09Speaker 7: coaches love him. He's willing to do whatever it takes
- 17:10Speaker 7: to get the job done, and that's what he did
- 17:12Speaker 7: again today.
- 17:13Speaker 3: How frustrating was it though, not having you know, all
- 17:16Speaker 3: hands on deck kind of back there to maybe quell
- 17:19Speaker 3: some of the things that I mean, you had to
- 17:20Speaker 3: play a lot of softs z own and go from there.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Yeah, that's just part of the preseason.
- 17:24Speaker 7: You know, we're not the only team that has to
- 17:26Speaker 7: deal with that, and that's just one of the things
- 17:27Speaker 7: that you get overcome.
- 17:28Speaker 6: And I thought our guys for the most part did that.
- 17:30Speaker 3: What about your young running backs assess their performance tonight?
- 17:33Speaker 6: Good the good things.
- 17:34Speaker 7: You know, all three of those guys did an ice job,
- 17:37Speaker 7: making efficient games on first second down for us, had
- 17:40Speaker 7: some good short yard he runs as well, So I
- 17:42Speaker 7: was pleased with that group.
- 17:43Speaker 6: As a whole.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Yo, see Vosh continues to show. I mean he made
- 17:46Speaker 3: a great play in that touchdown reception. I mean looking
- 17:49Speaker 3: at him out there when he's by himself out there,
- 17:51Speaker 3: he looks like a quasi tight end. I mean he's
- 17:53Speaker 3: a big body guy that can run and jump.
- 17:55Speaker 6: Yes, he did an ice job.
- 17:56Speaker 7: Jake did a good job getting through the progression and
- 17:57Speaker 7: finding them, and he came down with a big play.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So, coach, where does it go from here? I mean,
- 18:02Speaker 3: I know, now you've got a long process here. I mean,
- 18:05Speaker 3: take us through the next forty eight hours. What are
- 18:08Speaker 3: you going to do as an individual, as a coaching staff,
- 18:11Speaker 3: as an organization? What goes on?
- 18:12Speaker 7: Yeah, we'll meet his coaches, We'll maybe we do can
- 18:14Speaker 7: his staff and make the decisions that are best for
- 18:16Speaker 7: an organization, you know, and then we'll go from there
- 18:19Speaker 7: and have our team meeting and talk to some of
- 18:20Speaker 7: the players and then get to work on Cleveland.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I know a couple of guys that was injury reporting,
- 18:25Speaker 3: a couple of guys that didn't sound serious injury part
- 18:29Speaker 3: of it. Did you come out okay? Do you think?
- 18:31Speaker 6: I think so.
- 18:32Speaker 7: But again, we'll always give it a night to sort
- 18:34Speaker 7: some of them out and see how they feel tomorrow.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the thing. It's that first night sleep, see
- 18:39Speaker 3: what it feels like the next morning. We've both been there, right,
- 18:43Speaker 3: appreciate your time. Thanks a lot, awesome, Thank you, Dave.

- 19:03Speaker 2: Radio guys recap. The preseason is overlap. It ends with
- 19:07Speaker 2: a twenty one to nineteen loss to the Washington Commanders
- 19:10Speaker 2: here at FedEx Field. Now the nervous time begins for
- 19:14Speaker 2: a lot of youngsters who are wondering if they are
- 19:15Speaker 2: going to be one of the sixty nine guys with
- 19:18Speaker 2: a golden ticket, whether it's on the fifty three man
- 19:20Speaker 2: roster or the sixteen man practice squad.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Yeah, and the ones that aren't on the sixteen man
- 19:26Speaker 3: practice squad here did they put enough on tape for
- 19:29Speaker 3: other teams around the league to say I saw something
- 19:32Speaker 3: there that he showed and stepped up in a time
- 19:36Speaker 3: when we were looking for people to maybe do that.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Or other guys are going to get opportunities with other
- 19:42Speaker 3: teams on their sixteen man practice squad. And that's going
- 19:44Speaker 3: to be the interesting thing with the roster death. You
- 19:47Speaker 3: wonder how picked over the Bengals sixteen man practice squad
- 19:50Speaker 3: is going to be in a quick fashion, you know so,
- 19:55Speaker 3: and that's in order to get off that sixteen men,
- 19:57Speaker 3: they're gonna have to go to some of these fifty
- 19:59Speaker 3: three man roster.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I think there's going to be some guys on the Bends.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Sixteen man practice squad that might be on somebody's fifty
- 20:06Speaker 3: three men roster. Potentially. He's going to be interesting to
- 20:08Speaker 3: see how many of those there might.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Be safe to say Jake Browning has won the number
- 20:13Speaker 2: two quarterback.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Job, Yeah, I would think so. I mean, his numbers
- 20:16Speaker 3: are are pretty impressive. You know, he had to step
- 20:20Speaker 3: up and get it done. And last week his quarterback
- 20:23Speaker 3: rating one thirty five point four were in four for
- 20:26Speaker 3: four for forty two yards and then tonight, he goes
- 20:29Speaker 3: six for six for another forty two in a touchdown,
- 20:31Speaker 3: ten for ten eighty four yards and tests on quarterback grinning.
- 20:34Speaker 3: He's going to be well up into the one forties.
- 20:36Speaker 3: And you know, he showed mobility. I think he showed
- 20:38Speaker 3: that he understands the offense. And Duke Tobin had an
- 20:41Speaker 3: interesting thing that he was talking about with us at halftime.
- 20:44Speaker 3: He says, his mind is the big thing. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 3: he understands that, he sees it. He gets the ball
- 20:49Speaker 3: out of his hand quickly as a result of that.
- 20:51Speaker 3: So they seem to be pretty high on.
- 20:53Speaker 2: One guy who is not going to be worrying about
- 20:56Speaker 2: having a spot on the roster is andre Yosi Bosh.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I'd have to say he was the bengals most impressive
- 21:01Speaker 2: preseason player, had a touchdown catch in the game tonight,
- 21:04Speaker 2: and was terrific in all three preseason games.
- 21:07Speaker 3: He was I mean, I think that, you know, like
- 21:11Speaker 3: Duke was talking about with us at halftime, again, he
- 21:13Speaker 3: was another part of the subject matter and he had
- 21:15Speaker 3: traits There's no doubt about it that they really liked.
- 21:19Speaker 3: And the only knock was the level of competition, you know,
- 21:22Speaker 3: playing at Princeton playing in the IVY League. Well, he
- 21:26Speaker 3: showed that he could step up. I mean, I think
- 21:30Speaker 3: the other thing, you know, you talk about Jake Browning's mind,
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yolsivash has to have a pretty strong mind himself in
- 21:36Speaker 3: terms of not raw intelligence and football intelligence. And sometimes
- 21:40Speaker 3: it doesn't equate to football intelligence, but it does to him.
- 21:44Speaker 3: He picks it up quickly. He's gifted. I mean, he's big,
- 21:48Speaker 3: he can run, he can jump. There's not much he
- 21:51Speaker 3: can't do physically. I think I think his future is
- 21:54Speaker 3: extremely bright.
- 21:54Speaker 2: There's no question the Bengals always had at least one
- 21:58Speaker 2: running back on the practice squad. We didn't know anything
- 22:01Speaker 2: really about Calvin Tyler and Jacob Sailors. They hadn't played
- 22:04Speaker 2: in the preseason. Jacob Sailors had a good game. He
- 22:06Speaker 2: got the ball eleven times, he had a twenty seven
- 22:09Speaker 2: yard run. They got wiped out by a penalty. If
- 22:11Speaker 2: nothing else, he certainly enhanced his chance of being on
- 22:14Speaker 2: that practice squad.
- 22:15Speaker 3: He did, you know, I mean, all you can ask
- 22:18Speaker 3: the young guy to do is to step up when
- 22:20Speaker 3: given the opportunity. And it's almost like all those guys
- 22:24Speaker 3: are like, hey, thanks for giving us everything. You give
- 22:27Speaker 3: us a training camp. Here's your opportunity to go put
- 22:31Speaker 3: something on tape. Now it's up to you to go
- 22:33Speaker 3: do it. He stepped up and did a big time.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I thought he was really good. I mean he caught
- 22:39Speaker 3: the ball well out of the backfield. I mean I
- 22:41Speaker 3: didn't notice anything glaring as Simon Arrows on his part,
- 22:45Speaker 3: So I mean I think that he helped himself a ton.
- 22:48Speaker 1: There's no question.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Last year at cutdown Day, Bengals added guys to their
- 22:54Speaker 2: fifty three man roster from other teams, and they were
- 22:57Speaker 2: drafting late or choosing late in the waiver process, and
- 23:00Speaker 2: they still were able to do it. Max Sharping arrived
- 23:02Speaker 2: that way, Devin asi Ossi got here that way. J
- 23:06Speaker 2: two fella got here that way. What do you think,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I mean, are they going to do something similar this year?
- 23:11Speaker 2: Is there a position group that you think that they
- 23:13Speaker 2: might target.
- 23:14Speaker 3: That's a good question. I mean, you know, you think
- 23:16Speaker 3: potentially running back, But then guys show up and play
- 23:20Speaker 3: the way they play tonight. I mean they may you know,
- 23:24Speaker 3: be able to make things happen for their practice squad
- 23:27Speaker 3: in that regard. And I do think the one big
- 23:30Speaker 3: positive that came out of the night, there's a couple
- 23:32Speaker 3: of guys that were nicked up, Osai being one, and
- 23:36Speaker 3: there was an offensive player that will lose Jontay Smith
- 23:41Speaker 3: in the offensive line. It doesn't sound like they're speaking
- 23:44Speaker 3: with Zach after the game. It doesn't sound like they're
- 23:47Speaker 3: devastating injuries. But you always want to give it overnight
- 23:49Speaker 3: and see what it's like the next morning. But I
- 23:52Speaker 3: don't think they're going to be any kind of a
- 23:53Speaker 3: long term thing. So but the thing that you know
- 23:58Speaker 3: that I thought was a big key is don't let
- 24:01Speaker 3: injuries have to be part of the evaluation process. In
- 24:03Speaker 3: other words, you know, it's just let the guy, is
- 24:06Speaker 3: his skill set good enough? Did he play well enough
- 24:08Speaker 3: to make the football team. It's like, oh, now I
- 24:10Speaker 3: gotta claim this guy, put this one on waivers, see
- 24:14Speaker 3: if he can clear waivers, and then cut this guy
- 24:17Speaker 3: and put this guy back on our roster, and all
- 24:19Speaker 3: those manipulations that they had to do they've had to
- 24:21Speaker 3: do in the past because of injuries. A guys, he's
- 24:25Speaker 3: only gonna be out six weeks, He's not gonna be
- 24:26Speaker 3: out the entire sit, but he has to be on
- 24:28Speaker 3: the fifty three men roster before he can go on
- 24:30Speaker 3: ir it looks like they've avoided all that. So I
- 24:32Speaker 3: think that's a big deal. And I think they'll just
- 24:34Speaker 3: be able to build their roster based on, you know,
- 24:37Speaker 3: instead of juggling injury semantics, they just can the guy
- 24:42Speaker 3: hopeless or not.
- 24:43Speaker 2: One of the most interesting decisions they have to make
- 24:45Speaker 2: this weekend involves one of our all time favorites, Mike Thomas.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Truly one of the great people that's ever come through
- 24:52Speaker 2: the Bengals locker room ever and fifty plus years of
- 24:55Speaker 2: the franchise. If they keep for safeties, he's probably not
- 25:00Speaker 2: one of the four. He's got tremendous special teams value.
- 25:03Speaker 2: If he's not on the fifty three man roster, you
- 25:05Speaker 2: can keep six veterans. They would love to have him
- 25:07Speaker 2: on the practice squad if he's willing at thirty three
- 25:11Speaker 2: years old. It's going to be very interesting to see
- 25:13Speaker 2: how that comes down.
- 25:14Speaker 3: It really is. And I told him after the game
- 25:18Speaker 3: that I said during the game that any roster is
- 25:21Speaker 3: better with Mike Thomas on that roster. He was very appreciative.
- 25:25Speaker 3: You know, I mean, he is that guy. I said,
- 25:28Speaker 3: you know what, forget football, I'm going to campaign for
- 25:31Speaker 3: him to be president of the United States.
- 25:34Speaker 5: Yur.
- 25:34Speaker 3: He actually started laughing, but I mean he, I mean,
- 25:37Speaker 3: he is a he is a special dude. It's going
- 25:42Speaker 3: to be it's going to be very interesting. And the
- 25:43Speaker 3: thing he held a very very important squat person protector
- 25:48Speaker 3: for Darren Simmons. And you know, I was thinking about
- 25:51Speaker 3: this last night as I was putting together my own
- 25:53Speaker 3: roster twenty five offense, twenty five defense, and three specialists
- 25:56Speaker 3: and then maybe you know, playing with it after that, if.
- 25:59Speaker 1: He's not one of the guys.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Man, you have a snapper that's in his second season,
- 26:05Speaker 3: he's got twenty games under his belt, counting playoffs, and
- 26:08Speaker 3: then you have a personal protector or a Jordan Battle
- 26:10Speaker 3: that's a rookie and a rookie punter. Potentially, it looks
- 26:13Speaker 3: like that that's going to be the case. I mean,
- 26:17Speaker 3: Mike Thomas took all of the personal protective snaps for Darren.
- 26:20Speaker 3: And in the very first game you go up to Cleveland,
- 26:23Speaker 3: they have a very good special teams coach and you know,
- 26:26Speaker 3: tight game, loud clock's running down, they run a funky
- 26:32Speaker 3: formation and it might be tough on the rookie. So
- 26:35Speaker 3: those are the kind of things that you think about
- 26:38Speaker 3: but if you make that decision, you have confidence that
- 26:41Speaker 3: Jordan Battle and others can handle it.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Or Mike Thomas went out there and this game played
- 26:45Speaker 2: out a position at corner because they needed somebody to
- 26:48Speaker 2: do it. Here's a thirty three year old guy who's
- 26:50Speaker 2: been playing safety and not cornerback for many, many years.
- 26:54Speaker 2: You know, did what the team needed him to do.
- 26:56Speaker 3: He will do anything that his football team passed of him.
- 27:00Speaker 3: And to me, I mean, I think, I think he
- 27:04Speaker 3: is the ultimate teammate. I mean, he really is. I
- 27:06Speaker 3: don't I think if they if you put into a
- 27:10Speaker 3: computer all the requirements both physically mentally, all the intangibles
- 27:16Speaker 3: that you need to have the perfect teammate. Michael Thomas
- 27:20Speaker 3: comes spitting out of.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Their final question. What's your concern level for Heavin McPherson
- 27:25Speaker 2: after the preseason?
- 27:28Speaker 1: Not real high, not real high. Sky's the limit there.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I mean, that dude, he just he throws dynamite caps
- 27:36Speaker 3: on his toes before the game, in the pregame and
- 27:38Speaker 3: they start exploding. During the game. It is amazing to
- 27:42Speaker 3: see the ball come off that guy's foot. I mean,
- 27:45Speaker 3: it's you know, you I remember, you know, watching Major
- 27:49Speaker 3: League Baseball guys are batting practice and just hearing the
- 27:51Speaker 3: ball come off their bats, seeing their swing, and then
- 27:54Speaker 3: I mean, how does it make that noise? It doesn't
- 27:56Speaker 3: make that noise normally, you know. And the same thing
- 27:57Speaker 3: with him striking football. Some guys have this inate ability
- 28:02Speaker 3: to just crush. He's won.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, get from fifty eight during the game and sixty
- 28:07Speaker 2: five yards during the pregame.
- 28:08Speaker 3: War months, and he's done that before. I mean, I
- 28:10Speaker 3: remember practice, he ended of practice to hit from sixty five.
- 28:13Speaker 3: We were right behind them, yep, just right down the middle.
- 28:16Speaker 2: It's pretty good, dude.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Come on, it's unbelievable.
- 28:20Speaker 2: By the way, Happy birthday to lapse wife Lynn and
- 28:23Speaker 2: his granddaughter Lucy. The season opener at Cleveland is now
- 28:27Speaker 2: two weeks away. Here's hoping a certain quarterback is able
- 28:30Speaker 2: to start practicing this week. The Bengals Booth podcast is

- 28:48Speaker 2: get to know the person under the pads. Time for
- 28:53Speaker 2: some fun facts with defensive end. Raymond Johnson the third
- 28:56Speaker 2: from Sumter, South Carolina, the home of the Shaw Air
- 29:00Speaker 2: Force Base. When you're home, do you see a lot
- 29:03Speaker 2: of F sixteens and fighter jets overhead.
- 29:05Speaker 1: All the time? That's all we hear.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Baby.
- 29:07Speaker 10: You go see them flying around, you go see them landing.
- 29:09Speaker 10: You know, Shaw Air Force Base or something to South Carolina,
- 29:11Speaker 10: can't miss it.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Did a bunch of your friends have parents that worked there?
- 29:16Speaker 1: I had quite a few military friends. I did.
- 29:20Speaker 10: A lot of new ones every year. You get like
- 29:21Speaker 10: new friends just because of that military base.
- 29:23Speaker 2: So we're visiting with Raymond Johnson the third. What sports
- 29:26Speaker 2: did you play growing up?
- 29:27Speaker 10: I did basketball, baseball, football, and track?
- 29:32Speaker 2: What in track?
- 29:33Speaker 10: All the big stuff you know, like shot put and discus?
- 29:36Speaker 6: No, right, guy of etts? You know?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Did you have any interest in non sports activities?
- 29:43Speaker 10: Nonsports activity? I love music, So I was trying to
- 29:46Speaker 10: dabble in music a little bit. I'm not like I'm
- 29:48Speaker 10: a crazy good thing or anything, but I'm great at
- 29:50Speaker 10: like writing lyrics and songs and stuff like that.
- 29:53Speaker 2: All Right, you've gotten interesting talent other than football. I
- 29:57Speaker 2: heard you say in an interview that you feel like
- 29:59Speaker 2: you've always an underdog. Has that been a big motivator
- 30:02Speaker 2: for you?
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:03Speaker 10: Man, just uh, anything I've done in life, I always
- 30:06Speaker 10: felt like the underdog cause it's always I'm always being overlooked.
- 30:09Speaker 10: I felt like, uh like, coming in high school, I
- 30:11Speaker 10: was only a three star and I didn't get that
- 30:14Speaker 10: rank until you know, after my last senior year, stuff
- 30:17Speaker 10: like that, and I always felt like, you know, I
- 30:19Speaker 10: was a dominant player, probably one of the best in
- 30:22Speaker 10: the state, and you know, I felt like that's just
- 30:24Speaker 10: started my underdog journey. And then when I went to college,
- 30:27Speaker 10: I went to a smaller Division one uh if uh
- 30:31Speaker 10: G five school, so it continue my underdog mentality. Of
- 30:34Speaker 10: course I wasn't drafted, and you know I'm here now
- 30:36Speaker 10: in the NFL and still underdog mentality.
- 30:39Speaker 2: So Georgia Southern was that school? Why did you choose
- 30:42Speaker 2: the egos? Uh?
- 30:45Speaker 10: It was basically the whole recruiting process. The Eagles stayed
- 30:47Speaker 10: with me through thick and thin. You know, even if
- 30:50Speaker 10: I wasn't sure I would actually qualify academically, cause you know,
- 30:54Speaker 10: I was a a knucklehead in school at the time,
- 30:56Speaker 10: so not taking it serious as I should. But you know,
- 30:58Speaker 10: Georgia Southern was there the whole time in their family.
- 31:01Speaker 10: They all family.
- 31:02Speaker 1: It's a family team, it's a it's family all around.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Egan Nations. Shout out to Egan Nation.
- 31:07Speaker 3: By the way.
- 31:08Speaker 2: A self proclaimed knucklehead in the classroom when you were young,
- 31:12Speaker 2: would you have gone to one of the big powerful
- 31:14Speaker 2: schools in South Carolina or nearby? Do you think if
- 31:16Speaker 2: you had paid better attention to your grades? I definitely do.
- 31:19Speaker 10: I think I think I would have failed to either
- 31:23Speaker 10: USC or Clemson, and those guys were showing interest, of course,
- 31:26Speaker 10: But like I said, knucklehead.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Man, well you changed your ways by the time you
- 31:32Speaker 2: got to college majored in sports management. Could you see
- 31:35Speaker 2: yourself working in a front office or for a college
- 31:39Speaker 2: athletic department someday after your playing careers finished.
- 31:42Speaker 10: I actually could either working in the front office or
- 31:47Speaker 10: going to the big screen man, because I you know,
- 31:49Speaker 10: I love to talk about the game. You know, always
- 31:52Speaker 10: been great at speaking out publicly. So you know, either
- 31:56Speaker 10: that or broadcasting or one of those things. Anything around
- 31:58Speaker 10: the game is it sounds.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Good to me.
- 32:00Speaker 2: So you could see yourself as a color analyst done
- 32:02Speaker 2: a football broadcast man.
- 32:03Speaker 6: You know.
- 32:04Speaker 1: You notice.
- 32:06Speaker 2: We're visiting with Raymond Johnson the third. As you mentioned,
- 32:09Speaker 2: you weren't drafted, but many teams tried to sign you
- 32:12Speaker 2: immediately after the draft. You chose the New York Giants.
- 32:15Speaker 2: As it turns out, that was your favorite team growing
- 32:19Speaker 2: up in Sumter, South Carolina. Why did you become a
- 32:22Speaker 2: Giants fan?
- 32:23Speaker 10: Like all little kids, you know, you think you're running
- 32:25Speaker 10: back growing up and stuff and Tiki Barbara I was
- 32:27Speaker 10: huge on him. So they started out with Tiki, and
- 32:30Speaker 10: then as I got older, start developing on the dev
- 32:32Speaker 10: side of the ball and stuff. You know, I started
- 32:34Speaker 10: learning about guys like Alt and then you know, I'm
- 32:37Speaker 10: looking at this D line with Osu Yu Minari and
- 32:40Speaker 10: Justin Tuck and Jason Peter.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Paul and stuff. So it's just it's just that culture. Man.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I always loved it.
- 32:46Speaker 2: You're wearing the number fifty six in a Bengals uniform?
- 32:50Speaker 2: Is that for Lawrence Taylor?
- 32:52Speaker 1: It's not.
- 32:53Speaker 10: But you know, now that you say something, that's an
- 32:54Speaker 10: interesting thing. Though, I can get to start viewing it
- 32:56Speaker 10: that way. I definitely can.
- 32:58Speaker 2: It's a good guy a copy it is great guy
- 33:00Speaker 2: to coffee after being or after signing with the New
- 33:03Speaker 2: York Giants as an undrafted free agent. You made the
- 33:07Speaker 2: opening day roster a couple of years ago and wound
- 33:09Speaker 2: up playing in fifteen games. That's an incredible accomplishment. Described
- 33:12Speaker 2: that phone call when cut down weekend, they call you
- 33:15Speaker 2: up and say you've made the team.
- 33:18Speaker 10: Which is what is crazy. It actually wasn't a phone call.
- 33:20Speaker 10: When you get the phone call, that means you don't
- 33:22Speaker 10: make the team. So I didn't get a phone call.
- 33:24Speaker 10: And you know, coming into the league, I didn't really
- 33:27Speaker 10: know as much about fifty three man rosters and all that.
- 33:29Speaker 10: All I knew was like, you know, you either on
- 33:31Speaker 10: the team or you're on practice squad, you know, So
- 33:33Speaker 10: I never really knew about the call and if you know,
- 33:37Speaker 10: if you're on a fifty three year o on practice squad,
- 33:39Speaker 10: so you know, I found out that I was actually
- 33:41Speaker 10: on an official roster through like on the website and
- 33:45Speaker 10: then an interview shortly after practice and stuff. So I'm like, whoa.
- 33:48Speaker 10: You know, I didn't have no clue, but I'm glad
- 33:50Speaker 10: I did.
- 33:51Speaker 2: So not getting the phone call in this case was
- 33:54Speaker 2: the greatest thing. The greatest thing. Yes, sir, we're talking
- 33:57Speaker 2: to Raymond Johnson, the third You spent last year with
- 34:00Speaker 2: the Bengals on the practice squad. How did you approach
- 34:02Speaker 2: it when you didn't get to play in the games.
- 34:06Speaker 10: Just as an opportunity to get better and tone in
- 34:08Speaker 10: on my craft, getting a chance to go against a
- 34:13Speaker 10: championship caliber guys, you know, and making the most of it,
- 34:16Speaker 10: so you know, at first, of course, I don't think
- 34:19Speaker 10: I liked it at first, but just looking back on it,
- 34:22Speaker 10: I'm definitely thankful for it because it helped me took
- 34:24Speaker 10: my game to a next level.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I believe all right. Time for some wild card topics
- 34:28Speaker 2: now with Raymond Johnson the third? Have you had any
- 34:31Speaker 2: other jobs other than professional athlete?
- 34:33Speaker 1: Have I had any other jobs? Uh?
- 34:36Speaker 10: Yeah, you know. I used to do yard work all
- 34:40Speaker 10: the time for money and stuff. A lot of blue
- 34:43Speaker 10: collar jobs actually, like moving stuff, moving trees, branches and
- 34:46Speaker 10: stuff with some of my families and their friends and
- 34:49Speaker 10: businesses and stuff like that. But never really think that's like,
- 34:52Speaker 10: you know, a white college job or paperwork anything, and neever,
- 34:55Speaker 10: that sort.
- 34:55Speaker 2: That stuff helps helps build strength.
- 34:57Speaker 1: It does it very different, it does.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Do you have any hidden talents?
- 35:02Speaker 1: I can rap?
- 35:03Speaker 10: I can rap and I'm great at freestyling on the spot.
- 35:06Speaker 10: I don't know why. Well, actually I do know why.
- 35:09Speaker 10: My dad used to always wrapping the car and just
- 35:12Speaker 10: freestyle and stuff, and I don't know. As I got older,
- 35:14Speaker 10: I just I became great at it. So it's kind
- 35:17Speaker 10: of you know, it's funny.
- 35:19Speaker 2: On the flip side of that, what are you terrible at?
- 35:22Speaker 1: I'm terrible at golf.
- 35:23Speaker 10: I want to get better at that, just because when
- 35:25Speaker 10: I'm done with football, of course, I want to be
- 35:27Speaker 10: out there on a you know, on the course, cutting up.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Man.
- 35:30Speaker 2: It's a game for life. That's a good thing about golf.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Have you ever had a pet?
- 35:36Speaker 1: I had a few. I had a lot of dogs
- 35:38Speaker 1: growing up.
- 35:40Speaker 10: I had like a rock Waller, a pig, a poodle,
- 35:45Speaker 10: and now me and my fiance have like a Yorkie
- 35:48Speaker 10: and a shit too, so a Yorkie and Shitsu nick.
- 35:51Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm I'm a dog person.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Who is the greatest athlete of all time in any sport.
- 35:59Speaker 10: I'm gonna say Serena Williams. Serena Williams. She don't get
- 36:05Speaker 10: a lot of credit, and I think it's because she's
- 36:07Speaker 10: a woman. But Serena is a crazy athlete and if
- 36:11Speaker 10: you study her closely, you can. You can definitely make
- 36:14Speaker 10: that argument for her.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Are you a tennis fan.
- 36:17Speaker 10: I'm not, but that's also one of those sports. I'm
- 36:18Speaker 10: trying to double him more. Just you know, I'm trying
- 36:21Speaker 10: to dobble in a little bit of everything.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Good for you, sir. All right, final question, this one's
- 36:26Speaker 2: a little bit deep. If you could meet anybody in history,
- 36:30Speaker 2: living or deceased, could be an athlete and entertainer, a statesman,
- 36:34Speaker 2: who would that person be?
- 36:35Speaker 1: That's a great question.
- 36:37Speaker 10: So if I could meet anybody, I think I would
- 36:39Speaker 10: want to meet my great grandfather. I heard from my
- 36:43Speaker 10: great grandmother, who loves to talk a lot by the way,
- 36:46Speaker 10: that I remind him, I'll remind her of him a lot.
- 36:49Speaker 10: And he was a tall guy too, great man.
- 36:53Speaker 1: From what I heard.
- 36:55Speaker 10: I heard he was a good looking fellow. So you know,
- 36:57Speaker 10: of course it runs and ags. Not surprised, but I
- 37:01Speaker 10: would definitely want to beat my great grandfather definitely.
- 37:05Speaker 2: That's an excellent answer, Raymond. Best of luck in the
- 37:08Speaker 2: final preseason game and throughout the season. I appreciate your time, yes, sir,
- 37:11Speaker 2: I appreciate you too.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I think the scoring crew in Washington jypped Raymond Johnson
- 37:17Speaker 2: out of a half sack on Saturday Night. I believe
- 37:19Speaker 2: he finished the preseason with two sacks and a team
- 37:22Speaker 2: high five quarterback hits. That's going to do it for
