- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Where the plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Dude, they said I got to come off the bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench, live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Cane Studio.
- 0:37Speaker 3: All right welcome back here otb monday morning monday show
- 0:41Speaker 3: brought to you by bayou automotive all right number two
- 0:46Speaker 3: mr jacob hesser is uh changing tires right now flipping
- 0:51Speaker 3: tires maybe maybe get a little workout in as well
- 0:53Speaker 3: i heard he picked up the whole car he picked
- 0:55Speaker 3: up the whole car are you serious that's the.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Rumor I just pictured that in my head.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Changes the tire and he starts flipping it.
- 1:06Speaker 5: I'm Jake.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Jake.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Me Jake.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Me Jake. Okay, you know how I know that college
- 1:19Speaker 2: football is back, baby?
- 1:21Speaker 4: How do you know? How do you know?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Jealous.
- 1:26Speaker 6: Jealous.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Oh my God, I'm on the edge of my seat
- 1:28Speaker 4: saying it already.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Because we got absolutely crushed on our pontoon parlay. We
- 1:35Speaker 2: are so back. And it started out hot.
- 1:37Speaker 4: We're so back.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Yeah, dude.
- 1:39Speaker 5: We're in mid-season form.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The first game from Dublin, Ireland. Well, I picked TCU
- 1:47Speaker 2: to just blow out North Carolina. It didn't happen. No.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Because North Carolina won. Apparently, nobody got the message to
- 1:54Speaker 2: tease you as quarterback. Because he was straight garbage.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Was he?
- 1:59Speaker 2: He was terrible.
- 2:00Speaker 5: When, dude, all they did were like, yeah, we understand
- 2:02Speaker 5: he's from Harvard, but trust us, he's going to be
- 2:04Speaker 5: really good. They said that pregame, and I'm like, that
- 2:06Speaker 5: worries me. That worries me that you guys are overly
- 2:10Speaker 5: confident in this guy that's never played in this situation.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I don't believe you one bit. Yeah, they lose 15-10
- 2:18Speaker 2: to North Carolina. Is Bill Belichick, is he back?
- 2:21Speaker 4: No, TCU's just not good.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So.
- 2:23Speaker 5: TCU was sloppy in that game, like the snap over
- 2:26Speaker 5: the punter's head. They screwed up a lot of stuff.
- 2:28Speaker 5: Like to me, they seemed like the more talented team. However,
- 2:32Speaker 5: Belichick's team is a lot better than a year ago.
- 2:35Speaker 5: I think all 10 of TCU's points were in the
- 2:37Speaker 5: first quarter. I mean, that defense stepped up. And then
- 2:42Speaker 5: they were killing them, Matt, on those little stretch runs
- 2:45Speaker 5: in the first half. At one point in the second half,
- 2:49Speaker 5: TCU had 15 carries for six yards.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it was early on, TCU was gashing them,
- 2:55Speaker 2: and North Carolina just made adjustments, some simple adjustments. I
- 3:00Speaker 2: think Belichick knows how to adjust to stretches and any
- 3:05Speaker 2: one specific type of run, and TCU couldn't keep up
- 3:07Speaker 2: with it. They couldn't make their counterpunch, their counteradjustments to
- 3:12Speaker 2: what North Carolina was able to do, and that was
- 3:14Speaker 2: a sloppy game. The game after that, though, I thought
- 3:19Speaker 2: Virginia looked really good. Virginia looked awesome. That game wasn't close, ever. No,
- 3:24Speaker 2: it wasn't ever in question. Their quarterback looked like a surgeon.
- 3:28Speaker 2: He was operating their offense very efficiently. They looked very disciplined.
- 3:33Speaker 2: And I didn't watch the whole thing, but when I was,
- 3:34Speaker 2: because we were working around the house and playing outside, obviously.
- 3:38Speaker 2: But when I sat and watched that, I was like, man,
- 3:41Speaker 2: they look like a mid-season form team. North Carolina State
- 3:44Speaker 2: looks like this is the first time they've ever played together.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Virginia has, like, He said this on the broadcast before
- 3:50Speaker 5: the game, literally the most experienced offensive line in college football.
- 3:54Speaker 5: They have fifth, sixth, and their center is a seventh
- 3:57Speaker 5: year player.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 3:58Speaker 5: So, I mean, you got that kind of experience up front.
- 4:00Speaker 5: When I heard that pregame, I was like, crap, we
- 4:02Speaker 5: took North Carolina State. Because when I heard Virginia had
- 4:05Speaker 5: that big offensive line, I was like, oh, a lot
- 4:08Speaker 5: of game one. Like, that's going to help you a lot.
- 4:10Speaker 5: And it did because they just ran the hell out
- 4:12Speaker 5: of the ball.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Bo Pribula, 9 of 11 pass, 155 yards, two
- 4:17Speaker 2: touchdown passes, but also 15 carries for 110 yards. So
- 4:22Speaker 2: that was like the definition of efficiency.
- 4:24Speaker 5: That's all they did?
- 4:24Speaker 2: That's all they did. 9 of 11, it just tells
- 4:27Speaker 2: you they didn't have to throw it a lot, but
- 4:28Speaker 2: when they did, 9 of 11, 155 yards, two touchdowns.
- 4:31Speaker 5: And a lot of it was like designed quarterback power.
- 4:34Speaker 5: Like the running back was essentially the lead blocker. Pribula
- 4:37Speaker 5: would just follow behind that big O line. I mean,
- 4:38Speaker 5: he got seven yards of pop pretty much. It felt
- 4:41Speaker 5: like in the first half.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I mean, after that, do you feel like can Virginia
- 4:44Speaker 2: make some noise in the ACC?
- 4:46Speaker 5: It's going to be tough to find an O-line better
- 4:49Speaker 5: than that. Remember, they played Duke in the ACC championship
- 4:53Speaker 5: a year ago. I mean, where'd they go last year?
- 4:56Speaker 5: Nine and four?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair. It's crazy thinking about that, that Miami
- 5:01Speaker 2: did not make the ACC championship. Yeah. All right, let's
- 5:10Speaker 2: go through a little pontoon parlay.
- 5:15Speaker 4: So that didn't hit, obviously, either.
- 5:16Speaker 2: No, yeah, it didn't hit. Did we hit any picks?
- 5:20Speaker 4: One, Taylor's.
- 5:21Speaker 2: We got one?
- 5:21Speaker 5: We got one. One of five.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Tay-Tay should get the chain for that.
- 5:25Speaker 5: I take it back. Virginia did not win nine games
- 5:29Speaker 5: a year ago.
- 5:29Speaker 2: The least ass pick of all.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Virginia was 11-3 in 2025, and their O-line's back.
- 5:38Speaker 2: No preseason rank as well.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Is Virginia getting disrespected?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Virginia?
- 5:45Speaker 4: Underrated? Virginia disrespect.
- 5:49Speaker 6: That's going to be my clickbait title.
- 5:53Speaker 2: We don't stand for it here at OTB. Virginia is
- 5:56Speaker 2: going to get the respect they deserve.
- 5:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 5: North Dakota State, that did hit. They dominated.
- 6:03Speaker 2: It was 30-37. I'm trying to remember our picks. Can
- 6:05Speaker 2: we go through our picks? Do you have them? I
- 6:07Speaker 2: don't have them, but I think I remember them. We
- 6:09Speaker 2: definitely took Hawaii.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Hawaii.
- 6:12Speaker 2: They got to be about 10.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Okay, so.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Hawaii was getting four.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So TCU minus eight and a half didn't hit.
- 6:19Speaker 6: NC State plus four did not hit. North Dakota State
- 6:22Speaker 6: minus seven hit. Hawaii plus four, no. UNLV minus four
- 6:25Speaker 6: and a half, no. Memphis beat them. Which is really
- 6:28Speaker 6: funny because Dan Mullen came out with an Elvis impersonator.
- 6:32Speaker 6: And if you're going to do something like that, you've
- 6:34Speaker 6: got to win that game.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I kind of respect that.
- 6:35Speaker 8: I respect it.
- 6:36Speaker 4: No, I love it. I love that move. But you've
- 6:39Speaker 4: got to win that game.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Except I don't feel like the Elvis impersonator stayed in character.
- 6:43Speaker 4: He didn't? I didn't see, like, the full video.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I feel like at least the clip that I saw,
- 6:48Speaker 2: he was kind of, like, smiling and laughing.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Oh, stop smiling.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Not laughing.
- 6:51Speaker 5: You're supposed to have your lip curled.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Exactly. He kind of broke character a little bit.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Yeah, you're supposed to have your lip curled, and you're
- 6:56Speaker 4: supposed to be shaking your hips.
- 6:58Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Were you impressed with Florida State at all, beating New
- 7:03Speaker 2: Mexico State 34-17?
- 7:04Speaker 5: No, New Mexico State's not a good football program.
- 7:07Speaker 2: No.
- 7:08Speaker 5: No.
- 7:08Speaker 2: So Florida State not back yet?
- 7:10Speaker 5: No.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:11Speaker 5: No, I mean, honestly, the most impressive was the Bison,
- 7:16Speaker 5: North Dakota State. Like, that's their first game in FBS.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yes. How much do you know about that program? A lot.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I know that at one point they won.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Has there been like a long-term coach there?
- 7:29Speaker 1: No.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Okay, so remember Chris Kleiman, Kansas State? Chris Kleiman kind
- 7:32Speaker 5: of started that dynasty. They've gone through three different coaches now.
- 7:36Speaker 5: The new guy, actually I think he's only been there
- 7:38Speaker 5: about two years, but at one point they had won
- 7:42Speaker 5: like eight of the ten FCS national championships at one point,
- 7:46Speaker 5: like over a ten-year stretch. It was incredible.
- 7:55Speaker 4: We're going to redeem ourselves.
- 7:56Speaker 2: What?
- 7:57Speaker 4: We're going to redeem ourselves.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I mean, look, nobody really tries hard on week zero.
- 8:01Speaker 4: No.
- 8:02Speaker 2: No.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I didn't put any thought into that.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I mean, just look at TCU. Like, nobody tries.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Yeah, they didn't try at all.
- 8:08Speaker 2: On week zero. So we got to get better. There's
- 8:10Speaker 2: only one direction our pontoon parlay can go, and that's up. Mm-hmm.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'll tell you about our friends over at Rouse's.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Hey-o.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Rouse's.com, baby. We are going to be there. Friday, football Friday,
- 8:24Speaker 2: looking forward to it. Hey, I was driving to work
- 8:27Speaker 2: this morning, and I picked up my coffee, and then
- 8:30Speaker 2: I looked at the map to check out if there
- 8:33Speaker 2: was traffic. There was a red line all over iTunes.
- 8:35Speaker 2: So I was like, nope, not doing it. So I
- 8:37Speaker 2: pulled over, turned into the parking lot, and it was
- 8:40Speaker 2: the Rouse's over there on Blue Bonnet. This is like
- 8:42Speaker 2: 6 o'clock, 6.15 in the morning. There was like 20
- 8:45Speaker 2: cars there, and all the employees getting there. getting everything ready,
- 8:49Speaker 2: getting the shelves stocked, probably making sush, probably making a
- 8:52Speaker 2: lot of ready-to-eat meals, maybe some lunches, maybe some sandwich platters,
- 8:59Speaker 2: whatever it is. They were getting ready for the best
- 9:00Speaker 2: experience for you, the consumer, the customer, the best grocery
- 9:06Speaker 2: experience out there. And Rouse's certainly gives you that best
- 9:08Speaker 2: grocery store in Louisiana because it's a Louisiana company, and
- 9:12Speaker 2: they care about you. They care about the product they
- 9:14Speaker 2: give you, the experience they give you, And we are
- 9:17Speaker 2: fired up to be partnering up with them again every
- 9:19Speaker 2: single Friday this football season. And it starts this week.
- 9:24Speaker 2: So we're there. Come check us out. Come give us
- 9:26Speaker 2: a high five.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I need stuff for my tailgate.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Oh, they got you.
- 9:30Speaker 4: They do?
- 9:30Speaker 5: They got you. They'll cover the spread.
- 9:32Speaker 4: They got all of it?
- 9:34Speaker 2: Huh?
- 9:34Speaker 4: They got all of it?
- 9:35Speaker 2: They got everything you could ask for.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Their chicken tendies are so good.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Tendies are good.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Unlike OTB, they'll cover the spread.
- 9:40Speaker 2: They will.
- 9:41Speaker 5: We're bad at spreads. The house is great at them.
- 9:44Speaker 6: Yep.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Go check it out. If you want perfect hydration. If
- 9:47Speaker 2: you want to get your tailgate ready to roll, man.
- 9:51Speaker 2: They got it all. They got the beers. They got
- 9:55Speaker 2: the chicken tendies. What do you like? What is y'all's...
- 10:00Speaker 2: ideal tailgate?
- 10:02Speaker 4: Stuff like that.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Just fried, disgusting stuff.
- 10:06Speaker 5: And if you want... If you want like a non-fried option.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Disgusting as in like bad for your body.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Right. Sandwich tray is not bad if you want to
- 10:11Speaker 5: go a little bit lighter. But most of the time.
- 10:12Speaker 4: It gets too hot out there though.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Yeah. The sandwich tray.
- 10:15Speaker 4: The sandwich tray gets too hot out there. You got
- 10:16Speaker 4: to eat them quick.
- 10:17Speaker 5: You got to eat them quick.
- 10:17Speaker 2: The second half of the season type situation.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I get that. Well, whatever it is, make sure
- 10:23Speaker 2: it's Rouse's. Rouse's.com. Was there some news out of Tampa Bay?
- 10:31Speaker 4: Oh, Jack Pyburn?
- 10:32Speaker 2: Jack Pyburn.
- 10:33Speaker 4: Does he play for Tampa?
- 10:34Speaker 2: No.
- 10:35Speaker 4: I think he's going to come play for LSU.
- 10:36Speaker 2: He's going to play for LSU.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I think so. I think that's what the sources are saying.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Do you think that... Does LSU have to claim him
- 10:44Speaker 2: off waivers?
- 10:46Speaker 4: Oh, that's a good question.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Is it free agency or transfer portal? Where are we
- 10:51Speaker 5: at with this situation? What do we call him?
- 10:55Speaker 2: Man, there's been so much... Daily is the news that's
- 10:59Speaker 2: sitting between this whole... LSU tip of the spear when
- 11:03Speaker 2: it's trying to push the envelope on the competitive advantage
- 11:06Speaker 2: and the legality, what's legal, what's not legal, how far
- 11:10Speaker 2: do we push this situation? Um, and it kind of
- 11:14Speaker 2: all started with this Jack Pyburn situation a couple of
- 11:17Speaker 2: weeks ago. Uh, was it, maybe it was a week.
- 11:19Speaker 2: There's been so much happening. It's been like, it's been
- 11:22Speaker 2: so much happening every single day. It feels like it
- 11:24Speaker 2: was a month ago, but I know it was probably
- 11:26Speaker 2: a week ago. Um, So do we anticipate him being
- 11:31Speaker 2: on the roster week one?
- 11:34Speaker 6: Oh, I don't know about week one. I think they
- 11:36Speaker 6: have a court day on the 2nd.
- 11:39Speaker 4: It was supposed to be today, but I think they
- 11:40Speaker 4: moved it to the 2nd.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:43Speaker 4: For another TRO for him? I think, I don't know.
- 11:47Speaker 5: He said last week, Piper did, if he's not on
- 11:50Speaker 5: a team by September 1st, which is tomorrow. I look
- 11:55Speaker 5: at it, even though the Bucs cut him, which... Dude,
- 11:57Speaker 5: but he led the entire NFL in sacks in the preseason.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I'm wondering if another team is not going to go
- 12:03Speaker 5: pick him up before the end of the day tomorrow
- 12:06Speaker 5: because he had a hell of a preseason. Every team's
- 12:09Speaker 5: dealing with a lot of injuries. So, like, I know
- 12:11Speaker 5: he said, like, if he doesn't make the team, he's
- 12:14Speaker 5: going to come back to LSU.
- 12:16Speaker 4: I think he probably asked to not make it, though.
- 12:19Speaker 2: You think so? I don't know. Well, his interview, he said,
- 12:22Speaker 2: he said, I hope I make the 53, man.
- 12:24Speaker 6: People can say whatever they want. In front of whoever
- 12:29Speaker 6: to placate.
- 12:30Speaker 5: He makes that final 53 though. I think his, his
- 12:33Speaker 5: contract would have been like 885,000. So like, is LSU
- 12:38Speaker 5: paying that much for Jack Piper?
- 12:40Speaker 2: No, but also like, it's not only that, it's also
- 12:43Speaker 2: one year being active towards retirement pension, things like that
- 12:47Speaker 2: towards accredited season in the NFL. And is it that
- 12:52Speaker 2: far fetched that they put you on practice squad and
- 12:54Speaker 2: you get activated at some point during the season? I don't,
- 12:57Speaker 2: think it is especially with the the performance that he
- 13:00Speaker 2: was able to to put on tape i guess how
- 13:04Speaker 2: about this question like if he ends up being on
- 13:07Speaker 2: the roster for lsu and tampa does want him back
- 13:10Speaker 2: at some point they have an injury or two on
- 13:13Speaker 2: the defensive line like can they get him.
- 13:16Speaker 5: Back i know the nfl has kind of came out
- 13:19Speaker 5: and said you go back to college after training camp
- 13:22Speaker 5: like you're pretty much going to be ineligible for 2026.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yeah, the NFL did come out and say that.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Yeah, so he could go back next year, but not
- 13:29Speaker 5: this year. 2026, you go back to college, can't come back.
- 13:33Speaker 2: But what if Tampa's like, we really want him back?
- 13:36Speaker 5: I just think he's surprising all the way around. I
- 13:38Speaker 5: thought he played good enough. I thought Tampa had a
- 13:40Speaker 5: big enough need. It's an odd situation.
- 13:43Speaker 2: You got to think that the whole situation surrounding these players,
- 13:47Speaker 2: whether it's fair, unfair, that's for you to decide. you
- 13:54Speaker 2: got to think that it played maybe a significant part
- 13:58Speaker 2: in the decision-making by the GMs and the teams. Certainly
- 14:03Speaker 2: did for the kid from Cleveland, the tight end. The
- 14:07Speaker 2: news came out one day, he was cut the next day.
- 14:10Speaker 2: So you got to think that when these NFL teams
- 14:13Speaker 2: are making these final roster cuts and finalizing their 53-man roster,
- 14:18Speaker 2: that this– the noise around all this is playing a
- 14:22Speaker 2: big part. So, you know, I know these, I know
- 14:25Speaker 2: these guys, they, they feel like there was an unfair
- 14:28Speaker 2: disadvantage placed on them with the five, the five or
- 14:32Speaker 2: five rule coming out and they're not being a part
- 14:35Speaker 2: of it. And they wanted to put their name in,
- 14:37Speaker 2: you know, give themselves the best chance at prolonging their career,
- 14:41Speaker 2: giving them the best chance to make money in their career,
- 14:43Speaker 2: which nobody can blame anybody for that. If they're going
- 14:46Speaker 2: to allow you to do that. But, and trying to
- 14:49Speaker 2: help themselves out. Did they, you know, did some of
- 14:52Speaker 2: them end up hurting themselves because NFL teams just don't
- 14:56Speaker 2: want that distraction and that noise around their program. And
- 15:00Speaker 2: when it comes to finalizing the last roster, um, that,
- 15:04Speaker 2: that final 53 men roster, did that play any part
- 15:07Speaker 2: in people getting cut, released early, not really having the
- 15:11Speaker 2: same opportunities that they would have if they weren't part
- 15:14Speaker 2: of this old TRO situation. So who really knows? We'll see. Um,
- 15:19Speaker 2: But I think everybody is just sitting back. And as
- 15:25Speaker 2: LSU fans, I don't know if anybody really cares as
- 15:28Speaker 2: long as it makes LSU better. Is that pretty much
- 15:32Speaker 2: the common consensus?
- 15:33Speaker 4: I think that's the general consensus. Yeah, I think so.
- 15:36Speaker 2: That's not really my opinion.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Right, but generally, I think it is.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Generally, people, they don't really care what happens or where
- 15:43Speaker 2: you get your players as long as it makes LSU better. And,
- 15:47Speaker 2: you know. We'll see. I guess we'll see. Ross said
- 15:51Speaker 2: something was Thursday. Some, like, final chance for the court
- 15:54Speaker 2: appeals or something. A judge talks Thursday or something. I
- 15:59Speaker 2: guess we're going to know the final roster on Friday,
- 16:01Speaker 2: I guess.
- 16:02Speaker 8: I guess so.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Thursday or Friday.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I mean, why not?
- 16:03Speaker 2: I mean, why not? Yeah. Day of. I guess could
- 16:08Speaker 2: he miss the first game and then some of these
- 16:10Speaker 2: guys be there week two?
- 16:12Speaker 7: It'd be.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Like, when do you start school?
- 16:15Speaker 4: That has been my question about this. Like, are you
- 16:17Speaker 4: even– What is school now?
- 16:19Speaker 2: What is school?
- 16:22Speaker 5: We discussed that with how screwed up the college football
- 16:24Speaker 5: playoff timeline is because you would have to enter the portal,
- 16:28Speaker 5: school would start, and you're potentially still playing.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Can you take University of Phoenix online classes and play
- 16:35Speaker 2: for LSU?
- 16:36Speaker 4: Great question.
- 16:37Speaker 5: You can intern at a driving range and play for
- 16:40Speaker 5: South Carolina.
- 16:41Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 16:41Speaker 5: So why not?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Only if you're the starting quarterback, though. Fair enough. All right.
- 16:48Speaker 2: It's so funny to say all that, to think about
- 16:51Speaker 2: all that. All right. We're going to break. When we
- 16:52Speaker 2: come back, we are going to talk. Did Scotty Shuffler
- 16:56Speaker 2: just become the highest earning golfer in the history of golf?
- 17:00Speaker 1: What?
- 17:01Speaker 2: Let me think so. Talk about it. We'll come back
- 17:04Speaker 2: right here on Off the Bench.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Why are you laughing? People say that normally. Totally normal.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Just super normal.
- 17:13Speaker 7: You're right.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Go to getgordon.com. Get Gordon. Gordon McKernan, injury attorneys. Have
- 17:19Speaker 2: you been injured? Well, there's an expert out there. There's

- 17:28Speaker 2: car accident, truck accident, injured on the job site, doesn't
- 17:32Speaker 2: really matter. Give them a call. They should be your
- 17:34Speaker 2: first call because when something happens like that, you don't
- 17:38Speaker 2: really know what to do. Well, what you should do
- 17:41Speaker 2: is call Gordon McKernan and his team. Dial the eights.

- 18:03Speaker 2: to getgordon.com.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn. Presented by Bayou Automotive. One, two, three,
- 18:35Speaker 1: take my hand and come with me because you look
- 18:37Speaker 1: so fine that I really want to make you mine.
- 18:40Speaker 2: All right, welcome back here. I'm off the bench. Monday morning,
- 18:43Speaker 2: Monday show brought to you by Bayou Automotive. I just
- 18:47Speaker 2: realized earlier when I was talking about Tommy's Windows and
- 18:51Speaker 2: Doors and Siding that nobody hit me with the Yo Tommy.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yo Tommy! Thank you. That's all I needed. I didn't
- 18:59Speaker 2: want to sell them short, sell our listeners short, so
- 19:01Speaker 2: thank you. Thanks for being alert, Taylor. Somebody that was
- 19:07Speaker 2: alert over the weekend, Scotty Scheffler. Scotty Scheffler wins the
- 19:12Speaker 2: Tour Championship. That's the pretty much locking up Player of
- 19:18Speaker 2: the Year awards. He's won, I think, the Jack Nicklaus
- 19:20Speaker 2: Player of the Year awards the last four years. But
- 19:23Speaker 2: he wins the prestigious Tour Championship, which has, I think
- 19:28Speaker 2: by far, the largest purse payout. of any tournament throughout
- 19:32Speaker 2: the year. Of course, it's their points that get added
- 19:35Speaker 2: up every year and they play a series of tournaments
- 19:37Speaker 2: to end the season. And one, one champion is named
- 19:41Speaker 2: at the end of this year. It is Scotty Scheffler
- 19:43Speaker 2: winning his second tour championship. Rory actually has three of
- 19:48Speaker 2: these tour championships. But Scotty winning his second right here. Okay.
- 19:54Speaker 2: He becomes the all-time career earning leader, which is no
- 19:59Speaker 2: surprise to anybody. People are getting paid more now for
- 20:02Speaker 2: sports than they ever have. But when Tiger Woods is
- 20:06Speaker 2: second place, to now Scotty Scheffler in career earnings, it's
- 20:12Speaker 2: still a huge deal. It's a big milestone. Anybody want
- 20:15Speaker 2: to guess what the career earnings for Scotty is? Just
- 20:19Speaker 2: on the course. This is not marketing dollars. This is
- 20:23Speaker 2: just from purse winnings in his career.
- 20:27Speaker 5: 125 mil.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Wander?
- 20:31Speaker 4: That makes me feel like what he said was close.
- 20:33Speaker 5: So, like, I don't know. I don't actually know.
- 20:36Speaker 4: What's, like, the average?
- 20:39Speaker 2: Average, like, career earnings?
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess. How much did Tiger make?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Okay, so Tiger made $ 120, 000. Okay, I'll say $ 130, 000 for Scotty. $ 130, 000, right?
- 20:46Speaker 2: Just a little north of $ 130, 000, 000 now because I.
- 20:47Speaker 6: Believe the purse for winning the tour championship is $ 10, 000, 000 plus,
- 20:49Speaker 6: something like that.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So he jumped. Tiger Woods, $ 130, 000, 000, $ 390, 661 he has made
- 20:51Speaker 2: in his career. And that comes over, I believe it's
- 21:12Speaker 2: 22 victories over the last couple of years. He's only
- 21:18Speaker 2: won three tournaments this year, which is low for him.
- 21:21Speaker 5: He's got a lot of top tens.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Pretty much every time he's got multiple, at least second,
- 21:28Speaker 2: tied for second, top fives. There's hardly ever, I don't
- 21:32Speaker 2: even know if he missed a cut this year. He
- 21:34Speaker 2: might have. He did.
- 21:35Speaker 5: He missed one. it was about three weeks ago. Cause
- 21:37Speaker 5: remember we talked about it as his first cut missed
- 21:39Speaker 5: and like whatever, however many, like 70 tournaments or whatever
- 21:43Speaker 5: it was.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Golf is hard. Golf is really hard.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Um, I went at top golf all the time.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Okay. You, so you angry birds. Yeah. Yeah. Is that
- 21:55Speaker 2: the game you play at top?
- 21:56Speaker 6: No, I just, whatever one where you knock over the house.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 21:59Speaker 5: Well, you gotta play a little, little colored rings or whatever.
- 22:03Speaker 2: For sure. Um, To play at that level, like the
- 22:07Speaker 2: difference between a professional golfer and like a really good
- 22:11Speaker 2: amateur is such a wide margin. It's insane how good
- 22:16Speaker 2: these guys are and how consistent they are. So to
- 22:20Speaker 2: do what he does against the other, like the best
- 22:22Speaker 2: players in the world, I think we talked about the wide,
- 22:25Speaker 2: like there's a bigger gap. And when you look at
- 22:28Speaker 2: the points in the world, the world rankings in golf,
- 22:32Speaker 2: there's a bigger gap between him And Rory McIlroy at two.
- 22:37Speaker 2: There's a bigger gap in between those two than Rory
- 22:40Speaker 2: McIlroy and like the 5,000th ranked golfer in the world.
- 22:45Speaker 2: That is astonishing to me. Yeah. Because he is so
- 22:48Speaker 2: incredibly and impossibly consistent. So no surprise that he wins
- 22:55Speaker 2: the Tour Championship. No surprise that he is the all-time
- 22:58Speaker 2: leading earner in professional golf history at $ 130 million or so.
- 23:04Speaker 2: caddy's sitting pretty nice.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Well we were talking before the show about like what
- 23:08Speaker 5: it takes to be a caddy i just googled it
- 23:10Speaker 5: caddy ted scott he made six million dollars.
- 23:13Speaker 2: This year um yeah i mean it's usually he's made
- 23:21Speaker 2: six million the last couple years just because scotty's made
- 23:24Speaker 2: about 50 to 60 million but with 130 000 or
- 23:27Speaker 2: 130 million in career earnings that you know Usually a
- 23:31Speaker 2: caddy gets paid 10%, so that'd be $ 13 million in
- 23:33Speaker 2: career earnings. Pretty impressive.
- 23:36Speaker 4: That is impressive.
- 23:37Speaker 2: If I do say so myself.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Me think so.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Me think so. I was trying to say like old, like,
- 23:43Speaker 2: me think so, my lady.
- 23:45Speaker 4: I know what you were trying to do.
- 23:46Speaker 8: It didn't hit, though.
- 23:47Speaker 2: It didn't hit.
- 23:48Speaker 5: I'm not always going to be the most accurate on, like,
- 23:51Speaker 5: which club to tell Scotty to hit. But when he
- 23:54Speaker 5: asks for one, I whip it out that bag as
- 23:56Speaker 5: quick as possible for $ 6 million.
- 23:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 4: You think he got that good, good?
- 23:59Speaker 2: You going to whip it out as quick as possible
- 24:01Speaker 2: for $ 6 million?
- 24:02Speaker 5: Anytime, anywhere.
- 24:03Speaker 2: You going to whip it out?
- 24:04Speaker 8: $ 6 million?
- 24:04Speaker 5: You going to whip it out?
- 24:05Speaker 2: You going to whip that thing out?
- 24:05Speaker 4: As quick as possible.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 24:07Speaker 8: As soon as he asks.
- 24:07Speaker 5: Any course you can think of, buddy.
- 24:10Speaker 2: He said, six bucks, I'll whip it out.
- 24:13Speaker 4: I'll whip it out.
- 24:14Speaker 2: I don't need $ 6 million.
- 24:15Speaker 5: 8 a.m. tea time, Saturday evening, doesn't matter.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Scotty says jump, I say how high.
- 24:20Speaker 5: $ 6 million?
- 24:20Speaker 2: I'll do whatever you want, bud.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Two squirts?
- 24:23Speaker 5: Dude, you can even point and laugh for $ 6 million.
- 24:26Speaker 5: I ain't even worried about that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: You'd be the ultimate hype man, wouldn't you?
- 24:29Speaker 1: That's right.
- 24:29Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, you got this.
- 24:33Speaker 5: Scotty, you need like a shoulder massage before you get
- 24:35Speaker 5: in this backswing? $ 6 million, I'll pretty much do whatever
- 24:38Speaker 5: you need me to do.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Whipping it out, shoulder massages.
- 24:41Speaker 5: Yeah, whip it out.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Do two squirts to the back of the neck.
- 24:46Speaker 2: A little recall last week. You know, you know. Has
- 24:52Speaker 2: anybody watched one shot of golf this year? Yeah. You have?
- 24:56Speaker 5: Not this weekend, but yeah. I've actually watched a little bit.
- 24:59Speaker 5: I've been home a lot the last month. Why have
- 25:04Speaker 5: you been home a lot the last month? Golf's a lot.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Those tournaments are four days all day. I've tuned in
- 25:10Speaker 5: a little bit more than normal.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yes. I can tell when you were not only locked
- 25:15Speaker 2: into the TCU North Carolina game, but you knew everything
- 25:18Speaker 2: about the Virginia North Carolina State game, the North Dakota
- 25:22Speaker 2: State game. You're going to watch all. This might be your.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Highest volume of football consumption this season.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Any sport.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Ever. Of all the sports. Probably. Did you watch the
- 25:33Speaker 2: Joker last night? No.
- 25:36Speaker 5: But I heard it was a little heartbreaking for him.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It was. I watched the end of it. Four and
- 25:42Speaker 2: a half hours, I think. His longest first round match
- 25:44Speaker 2: of his career. He lost. Didn't even look good doing it.
- 25:48Speaker 2: He was throwing up everywhere. Was he? Yeah, he was puking.
- 25:53Speaker 2: His back was hurting. He had a sore throat for
- 25:56Speaker 2: a month and a half, I think, before. Oh, and
- 25:58Speaker 2: the acoustic environment wasn't where it needed to be. It
- 26:01Speaker 2: was not good. Hey, Jake, what's up? Hey, what's up? Hey,
- 26:04Speaker 2: we're about to go to break.
- 26:05Speaker 8: All right.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Where are we at?
- 26:07Speaker 8: All right, I see it.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I see it.
- 26:08Speaker 8: I think I see it.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah. We're kind of on time, so what you see
- 26:13Speaker 2: is right.
- 26:13Speaker 8: Okay, all right. Yeah, more OTV when we come back.

- 28:04Speaker 8: All right, welcome back in OTB here on this Monday morning.
- 28:07Speaker 8: I apologize. I had to go handle a flat tire
- 28:11Speaker 8: situation with my whole crew.
- 28:14Speaker 2: How'd it go?
- 28:16Speaker 8: I'll fight somebody today. Okay. At some point, I'll fight
- 28:19Speaker 8: somebody today.
- 28:21Speaker 2: So I just got to fight.
- 28:22Speaker 8: And, and Han, if you're listening and you're like, who
- 28:24Speaker 8: fights there? That's a loser.
- 28:25Speaker 7: If you fight, I'll fight you today. If you walk
- 28:27Speaker 7: in here and say something, I'll fight you today, Han.
- 28:31Speaker 8: Good God. And they, You got a flat tire, so
- 28:34Speaker 8: don't have time to fix it.
- 28:35Speaker 7: They got to get to school. It's all four boys.
- 28:38Speaker 7: They're on like the outskirts of campus. So they just
- 28:40Speaker 7: start walking because that's what boys do. They were going
- 28:43Speaker 7: to be late. Had to go pick them up. Had
- 28:45Speaker 7: to walk them into the office. Hey, here's why they're late.
- 28:47Speaker 8: Send us an email. Why do you think I walked
- 28:50Speaker 8: into this office? That's a whole different situation. Had to
- 28:54Speaker 8: go leave a note in the car because you know
- 28:55Speaker 8: who gets to fix that after the show. Your boy.
- 28:58Speaker 7: Hey, please don't tow my car, LSU. I semi work
- 29:01Speaker 7: here on Saturdays. i love you i'm appreciative of you
- 29:04Speaker 7: don't tell my car uh so we'll see how it
- 29:06Speaker 7: goes uh sweat was involved because it's hot as hell
- 29:10Speaker 7: outside it's going to be even hotter when i change
- 29:13Speaker 7: that tire on the asphalt here coming up at 1005
- 29:15Speaker 7: yeah if you see me today and i'm a little
- 29:18Speaker 7: bit irritated i apologize unless you're hunt i'll fight you
- 29:21Speaker 7: right now hunt right now right now hunt punch you
- 29:23Speaker 7: square in the face.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Something about your face I don't know why I'm picking
- 29:28Speaker 2: on Hunt.
- 29:29Speaker 8: I love you, Hunt.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Just kidding. We're actually not. Today it's your turn. He
- 29:32Speaker 2: was not actually going to fight because we love Hunt.
- 29:35Speaker 8: We do love Hunt.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Don't let us take.
- 29:39Speaker 6: It.
- 29:40Speaker 2: I hope that you... I hope we didn't just alert
- 29:44Speaker 2: tow truck drivers.
- 29:46Speaker 8: I don't even care.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I'll fight them today, too. Well, you're not going to
- 29:50Speaker 2: find them. They're in the wind.
- 29:52Speaker 5: They're cranking up the radio trying to hear, where's that
- 29:54Speaker 5: car again?
- 29:56Speaker 8: I hope you get there the same time I do today.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 8: That actually worked out perfectly.
- 30:02Speaker 2: What was your go-to move? Front kick? That's your leader?
- 30:05Speaker 8: No, you ever seen Bill Goldberg?
- 30:06Speaker 7: Like Leonidas?
- 30:07Speaker 8: The spear? Yeah. Yeah.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Spear. Roundhouse? Kick to the face?
- 30:10Speaker 8: No, no.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You ever seen a roundhouse kick to the face in
- 30:13Speaker 2: these pants? I don't think so.
- 30:16Speaker 8: If you go with the move, they got you here.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Spear. Spear them? Yeah. That's your go-to street fight move?
- 30:23Speaker 4: Break the wrist, walk away. Break the wrist, walk away.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Now I know how to defeat you. You've told me
- 30:28Speaker 2: your move.
- 30:31Speaker 4: Grab my arm.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Other arm.
- 30:33Speaker 4: My other arm.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Did I hear a wheeze right there?
- 30:38Speaker 8: I feel like I heard a wheeze.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Napoleon Dynamite will make you wheeze.
- 30:41Speaker 8: I don't know who the wheeze was, but somebody wheezed.
- 30:43Speaker 2: My other arm. Oh, that's good. Good clean fun. So
- 30:49Speaker 2: what did y'all talk about? I'm sorry, dude.
- 30:50Speaker 8: No, it's fine.
- 30:51Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 30:52Speaker 8: You got me more fired up for game week. This
- 30:54Speaker 8: is how I want to feel all week long.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Good.
- 30:56Speaker 8: I don't want to lose this feeling.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Nope.
- 30:58Speaker 5: We talked.
- 30:59Speaker 8: If I saw Dabo right now, I'd punch him.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 31:02Speaker 5: Yeah, but I don't want that smoke. Talk to LSU,
- 31:06Speaker 5: mock game day.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Oh, I liked it.
- 31:08Speaker 8: I don't know how y'all felt about it.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Matt's being typical hater.
- 31:13Speaker 7: The biggest hater in the world. I don't understand him sometimes.
- 31:16Speaker 7: Sometimes I think he wakes up and he's like, I
- 31:18Speaker 7: like that. And then we're like, hey, we kind of
- 31:20Speaker 7: like that.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I'm like, I hate it. I didn't say I hated it.
- 31:24Speaker 2: I said it was a little bit over the top. No,
- 31:26Speaker 2: I think it's great. Kind of dorky.
- 31:28Speaker 8: I think it's great because last year they didn't stay
- 31:30Speaker 8: at La Cooke.
- 31:30Speaker 2: But just kind of.
- 31:31Speaker 8: Hold on.
- 31:31Speaker 7: You've already had your moment. Last year they stayed at
- 31:34Speaker 7: the Renaissance. They're going back to the La Cooke Hotel.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Oh, they're going back to La Cooke?
- 31:38Speaker 8: Yes, which I think is smart. It's right there on campus.
- 31:41Speaker 8: Just go to La Cooke.
- 31:42Speaker 2: It's great.
- 31:43Speaker 8: You can get on the bus. Boom, you're at the stadium.
- 31:45Speaker 7: There's an atmosphere, like a feel when you're at La Cooke.
- 31:49Speaker 7: You're like, it's game day. here in Baton Rouge on campus.
- 31:52Speaker 7: So they stay at the hotel. They do the whole deal.
- 31:55Speaker 8: They do the tiger walk because you've got.
- 31:56Speaker 7: 50 new players, 70 new coaches on this team. They've
- 32:00Speaker 7: never done that before. Do you want them doing that
- 32:02Speaker 7: for the first time next weekend when there's all the
- 32:04Speaker 7: people's 35 deep?
- 32:07Speaker 2: That's a lot of coaches to holler at.
- 32:09Speaker 5: That's what I just said last segment. I'm like, These
- 32:11Speaker 5: guys have never been here. Make them as comfortable as
- 32:13Speaker 5: possible game one.
- 32:14Speaker 8: Like, hey, this is how we do it. Okay, it's
- 32:15Speaker 8: not too big. This is a stadium.
- 32:17Speaker 7: They were doing, like, I think Dixon McMakin was on
- 32:19Speaker 7: the mic. I'm pretty sure that was him. I sat
- 32:20Speaker 7: in the north end zone, but I'm like, I hid.
- 32:22Speaker 7: I'm like, I'm going to watch this. I'm just going
- 32:24Speaker 7: to sit here, watch for a little bit, go up
- 32:26Speaker 7: to the booth, do a deal, come back, and I'm like,
- 32:29Speaker 7: right here.
- 32:30Speaker 8: All right, let me watch this series. Okay, we're good.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Out.
- 32:34Speaker 7: And I actually think it was a good idea. They
- 32:39Speaker 7: did all the songs. They did all the dances. They
- 32:41Speaker 7: had the cheerleaders. It's like, this is what it's going
- 32:44Speaker 7: to be like for you 40 new players, 50, however
- 32:47Speaker 7: many it is.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 32:49Speaker 8: They're going to be here. So the first time they
- 32:51Speaker 8: hear it, is it going to be the same?
- 32:52Speaker 2: No, it's not.
- 32:52Speaker 8: You can't replicate that. But at least they know what
- 32:54Speaker 8: to expect somewhat.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I liked it. I thought it was a good idea.
- 32:59Speaker 2: I think it's great. I hope they're ready. I know
- 33:02Speaker 2: they're going to be ready. They're going to be more
- 33:03Speaker 2: ready than any team ever. I'm not being a hater.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I said it was a good idea. You got to
- 33:10Speaker 2: have them all. You got to go through something. And yes,
- 33:13Speaker 2: some of it was, you know, a little dorky.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Just embrace it. I've embraced it.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I'm not, I mean.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Embrace it.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I don't have to do anything.
- 33:20Speaker 4: You're a hater. Are you Shador?
- 33:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Now you got to get an attitude with me.
- 33:28Speaker 5: I don't have to do nothing in life.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I ain't got to do nothing.
- 33:30Speaker 4: I'm trying to help you. Every time I try to
- 33:34Speaker 4: help someone, they want to catch an attitude with me.
- 33:38Speaker 2: I'm going to be cheering harder for LSU than any
- 33:40Speaker 2: of y'all.
- 33:43Speaker 4: I'm glad.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I don't believe you. They played all the songs? Like,
- 33:49Speaker 2: who played the songs? The band?
- 33:51Speaker 4: There's the guy up there and everything. The PA guy.
- 33:56Speaker 2: Lane loves some songs being played.
- 34:02Speaker 4: As long as he doesn't stop playing Set It Off,
- 34:04Speaker 4: we're all good.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I will say that I would assume that, okay, so
- 34:09Speaker 2: I'm assuming at the hotel, the players are bunked up
- 34:14Speaker 2: with a buddy. I would assume that coaches, they can't
- 34:19Speaker 2: stay there. There's not enough rooms to house all these coaches.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I'm sure there are two-door rooms.
- 34:23Speaker 8: Are the coaches? I'm sure like full-time position coaches. I'm
- 34:28Speaker 8: sure that they get their own room.
- 34:30Speaker 2: But do they even stay there the night of? Oh,
- 34:31Speaker 2: that's true. Because the coaches didn't stay there when we
- 34:34Speaker 2: were there, right? It was just the players. Yeah, they
- 34:36Speaker 2: would do the bed check. Which I always thought was BS.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Some coaches. I always thought that.
- 34:42Speaker 8: I was like, y'all get to go home. I want
- 34:44Speaker 8: to say like Moffitt stayed back in the day, though, right?
- 34:47Speaker 2: I mean, somebody had to police us.
- 34:48Speaker 8: Him and Sam.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody had to police him.
- 34:51Speaker 8: Sam Niter.
- 34:52Speaker 7: Uh-huh.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Hey, Matt, you in your room, bud? Room check. Room check.
- 34:57Speaker 8: Coach Nader.
- 34:59Speaker 4: That's a pretty good Nader.
- 35:01Speaker 5: You do the best Nader I've ever heard.
- 35:04Speaker 7: We're going to have dinner in the Chattahoochee room.
- 35:06Speaker 2: 7 o'clock.
- 35:07Speaker 8: Be there.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Don't be late.
- 35:11Speaker 8: Coach Saban don't like that.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I remember one time Saban just ripped Sam Nader.
- 35:17Speaker 8: How do you rip Sam Nader? Like the greatest human
- 35:19Speaker 8: being of all time.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Just crushed him one time. Like he was a third-string cornerback.
- 35:26Speaker 5: What'd he do?
- 35:28Speaker 2: Good question. Something was off with the schedule, like a
- 35:31Speaker 2: bus was late or something. It was the night before
- 35:34Speaker 2: he came. My God.
- 35:36Speaker 7: I've told y'all, Coach Saban ripped the Lycook staff because
- 35:42Speaker 7: they had eggs and bacon for a 6 a.m. pregame
- 35:46Speaker 7: meal when we were playing Mississippi State on Jefferson Pilot Sports.
- 35:51Speaker 7: Because he didn't want anything to be different. And he
- 35:54Speaker 7: didn't know why we didn't have steak and noodles like
- 35:56Speaker 7: we always had. And he'd been preaching all week long.
- 35:59Speaker 7: It's the same.
- 36:00Speaker 8: The time doesn't matter.
- 36:02Speaker 7: And the first thing they see when they wake up,
- 36:04Speaker 7: eggs and bacon, not steak and noodles. And ripped everybody's ass.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Everybody.
- 36:10Speaker 7: The chefs, the waitresses, Coach Nader. I'm sure Coach Moffitt
- 36:14Speaker 7: caught some strays as well.
- 36:16Speaker 8: Everybody.
- 36:16Speaker 2: In fairness, even in night games, we still had breakfast.
- 36:19Speaker 2: And that was the breakfast. So which one was different?
- 36:23Speaker 2: It was like a can't win situation for the staff.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Even if they served the pregame meal, he'd been mad
- 36:28Speaker 2: because the breakfast wasn't there. He's just ready.
- 36:31Speaker 8: He was ready.
- 36:34Speaker 2: He was ready.
- 36:35Speaker 8: And we got after him that day too. We beat
- 36:38Speaker 8: him like 42 to nothing. And Phillip Maxwell got a
- 36:41Speaker 8: block in the back on return.
- 36:43Speaker 7: Kurt Saban met that young fella at the numbers and
- 36:49Speaker 7: grabbed him by his face, Matt.
- 36:51Speaker 8: Like, walked him to the sideline. I was like, I
- 36:54Speaker 8: was a freshman. I'm like.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Coach, we're about 40.
- 36:56Speaker 7: Man, this is what it's about, right? Coach, their quarterback
- 37:02Speaker 7: just threw his 19th pick of the game.
- 37:04Speaker 2: We're okay. It's because of the eggs.
- 37:07Speaker 7: It was also a bazillion degrees that day.
- 37:12Speaker 2: It's probably going to be pretty hot this weekend, too.
- 37:14Speaker 8: Probably so.
- 37:14Speaker 7: Bro.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Hot AF.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Probably so.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Game day?
- 37:20Speaker 6: Gonna be here yeah yeah 500th show i believe did
- 37:23Speaker 6: they just announce that no it's been they announced that
- 37:26Speaker 6: like yeah months.
- 37:28Speaker 8: Ago were y'all surprised we had uh we had you
- 37:31Speaker 8: might not.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Have but reese said we had reese no i remember.
- 37:33Speaker 8: That but they had announced it.
- 37:35Speaker 6: At that time okay i thought he had said oh
- 37:37Speaker 6: maybe it was the oxford yeah the oxford one where
- 37:40Speaker 6: he told us that they were going to be there
- 37:41Speaker 6: without telling us yeah right yeah okay we.
- 37:43Speaker 5: All surprised they didn't do a week zero game day No.
- 37:47Speaker 5: They've done it the last couple years.
- 37:48Speaker 8: They've done it in the past.
- 37:49Speaker 4: But there wasn't anything really that good unless they were going.
- 37:51Speaker 5: To go all the way to Ireland.
- 37:53Speaker 8: I think they've gone to Ireland before, right?
- 37:54Speaker 5: Yeah, they have. They did it last year.
- 37:56Speaker 2: That would have kind of watered down the brand if
- 37:58Speaker 2: they would have done one of these games.
- 37:59Speaker 8: Did we miss every pick on the pontoon outside of Tay-Tay's?
- 38:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we were 1-4.
- 38:03Speaker 8: Oh, boy. Bursting out of the gate.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:07Speaker 2: We've got to get our feet under us a little bit.
- 38:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Well, we hit the first week last time.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Yeah. We hit week zero last week?
- 38:14Speaker 8: I think it was.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and then we didn't hit again.
- 38:16Speaker 5: I don't remember. I think it.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Was week zero.
- 38:19Speaker 8: Maybe we hit, like, the back end, yeah.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Okay, so maybe we're in for a good year.
- 38:21Speaker 8: We had a lot of, like, four or three and ones.
- 38:24Speaker 8: We had a lot of three and ones.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:26Speaker 8: A lot of three and ones.
- 38:26Speaker 2: A lot of one and threes.
- 38:28Speaker 8: A lot of one and threes.
- 38:28Speaker 2: A couple two and twos.
- 38:30Speaker 8: No, not really. It was, like, one or the other. Like,
- 38:32Speaker 8: one and three or three and one. Look, week zero
- 38:36Speaker 8: is hard. Nobody knows if anybody's good.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so.
- 38:39Speaker 8: UNLV Memphis was actually a pretty good game, though.
- 38:41Speaker 1: It was.
- 38:42Speaker 2: It was a really good game. I liked most of
- 38:43Speaker 2: that game.
- 38:43Speaker 5: Marcus Stokes had a really good game, a quarterback.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 5: And I like Charles Huff.
- 38:47Speaker 8: Yeah, he's a good coach.
- 38:48Speaker 2: We were talking about how good Virginia looked this weekend.
- 38:52Speaker 8: And they were good a year ago.
- 38:53Speaker 2: They could be a legit team. Yeah. They could be
- 38:55Speaker 2: a legit team.
- 38:55Speaker 8: Virginia looked really good at quarterback.
- 38:57Speaker 5: We brought it up. They were 11-3 last year.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:59Speaker 5: I mean, they played for the ACC championship. And honestly,
- 39:01Speaker 5: if they win that, they're probably in the playoff.
- 39:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 39:06Speaker 6: Maybe since we, like Taylor was saying, since we hit
- 39:09Speaker 6: week zero last season and then we didn't hit again
- 39:12Speaker 6: until the end, maybe we're about to go on a run.
- 39:15Speaker 2: I think so. Like a 10-week run on the pontoon parlor.
- 39:17Speaker 2: And you know what they say.
- 39:18Speaker 5: If you're going to lose, lose early.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 8: Who says that?
- 39:22Speaker 2: They? Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 5: You know, all of them.
- 39:24Speaker 4: They do be saying that.
- 39:25Speaker 2: They.
- 39:26Speaker 8: Do be saying that. All right. Clock Integrity. It's new

- 42:09Speaker 2: Saying they might have been involved in the tire situation.
- 42:12Speaker 8: They probably slashed it.
- 42:13Speaker 7: Yeah. Well, what y'all don't know is I had to leave,
- 42:16Speaker 7: but the tripod held it down. And now we're back.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Three's up.
- 42:20Speaker 8: So if you're going to take us down, it's got
- 42:22Speaker 8: to be more than one at a time.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Yep.
- 42:25Speaker 8: Power in numbers.
- 42:28Speaker 4: You can cut the head off the snake. I don't
- 42:30Speaker 4: know how to finish that song.
- 42:32Speaker 8: Whatever that is, though.
- 42:35Speaker 2: If you cut the head off the snake, it's dead.
- 42:40Speaker 4: Maybe if you cut the tail off the lizard.
- 42:43Speaker 2: You better cut the head off the snake.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Because the tail regrows.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Can't cut the arms off because it doesn't have any.
- 42:52Speaker 4: I said lizard. Like if you cut the tail off
- 42:54Speaker 4: the lizard.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Lizard. Salamander.
- 42:56Speaker 5: Just thinking of water boy.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Salamander. Eating a snake.
- 43:00Speaker 7: Lizards are just like, you think you got me?
- 43:03Speaker 8: I got you.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I got you.
- 43:04Speaker 8: I'm going to be back.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yep.
- 43:06Speaker 8: Stronger than ever.
- 43:08Speaker 2: See you tomorrow. From the lizard. We have all the
- 43:14Speaker 2: lizards at our house. We got a lot of skinks.
- 43:20Speaker 5: Yeah, we do too.
- 43:21Speaker 2: You know what I'm talking about? You don't. You don't skink?
- 43:24Speaker 8: Skink?
- 43:25Speaker 2: You've never heard of a skink? It's like a lizard,
- 43:26Speaker 2: but they're a little.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I thought you were saying skunk in a weird way.
- 43:28Speaker 7: I did, too.
- 43:28Speaker 2: They're a little bit slimier and weirder.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Skinny, slimy, like dark-colored lizards.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Dark-colored, like.
- 43:33Speaker 5: It's kind of what I would.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Darkish, blackish, reddish.
- 43:36Speaker 8: I just call those lizards.
- 43:37Speaker 4: Yeah, same. I'm looking at it.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they're kind of gross-looking. Yeah.
- 43:40Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, the bluish tail.
- 43:41Speaker 2: They get pretty big. They get pretty big. Yeah, they're
- 43:44Speaker 2: little skinks.
- 43:45Speaker 8: Skinks.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Our little outdoor cat loves to hunt a skink.
- 43:48Speaker 5: There you go.
- 43:49Speaker 2: There you go. That's them.
- 43:50Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, I see plenty of those.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Blue tail?
- 43:52Speaker 4: Yeah, skink.
- 43:52Speaker 2: Yeah. That's a lizard. That's a skink. That's a lizard.
- 43:56Speaker 8: What's up? That's just a fancy lizard.
- 43:59Speaker 2: One of the fancy-dressed lizards. Yeah.
- 44:02Speaker 8: Oh, I'll grab that son of a gun and throw
- 44:03Speaker 8: him in the lake.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Pinstripes? Yeah.
- 44:05Speaker 5: They hard to catch.
- 44:06Speaker 2: No, I'll catch him. He'll be in the lake.
- 44:08Speaker 8: I'll throw him right in the lake.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Get out of here.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 44:12Speaker 5: I've never seen a skink go less than, like, 60
- 44:15Speaker 5: miles an hour crawling. Every time I see them, they're like.
- 44:17Speaker 8: Well, this fullback goes 61 now.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Let me tell you, there are little skink Heads and
- 44:23Speaker 2: torsos laying around the Flynn household all over the place.
- 44:26Speaker 2: On display. My cat is trained. If they go 60
- 44:30Speaker 2: miles an hour, she's going 61. That's right. Because she
- 44:32Speaker 2: gets them.
- 44:34Speaker 4: They're kind of cute.
- 44:36Speaker 8: I didn't know those were things of a flying lizard.
- 44:38Speaker 2: Kind of like a flying squirrel.
- 44:40Speaker 8: I guess so.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Which is false advertisement. True.
- 44:43Speaker 8: More of a gliding squirrel.
- 44:47Speaker 2: All right. They just got extra skin in their armpits.
- 44:49Speaker 8: I don't love that.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Dude, those little things.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Little armpit skin.
- 44:56Speaker 5: Those little skinks can move three meters per second.
- 45:00Speaker 8: Wow.
- 45:01Speaker 2: That's a lot for being like this big. Especially when
- 45:03Speaker 2: Jake throws them. Oh, I throw them.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Straight in the leg.
- 45:08Speaker 8: Straight in the leg.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Are they as slimy as they look?
- 45:11Speaker 8: No, not really.
- 45:13Speaker 2: Wet?
- 45:14Speaker 8: Slicker and goose poop, but not slimy.
- 45:15Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I got it.
- 45:19Speaker 8: That's another Saban saying. I don't really know what it means.
- 45:24Speaker 7: Slicker and goose poop. I wouldn't say poop, though. They
- 45:27Speaker 7: also say, like, blank through a tin horn.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Yeah. The slicker one. I don't know. What does that mean? Like,
- 45:35Speaker 2: you could slip on it, maybe?
- 45:36Speaker 8: I don't know. He used to say it all the time.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes, sir. That makes sense, sir. I get it.
- 45:41Speaker 2: The way you said it, I understand it. Yes, sir.
- 45:46Speaker 8: He would, when he was describing, typically like a returner
- 45:49Speaker 8: is when he would use it.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Sure. Now, this guy is.
- 45:51Speaker 8: Slicker and goose.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Did he ever say that about you?
- 45:54Speaker 7: Um, tougher than a $ 2 steak, probably more me than
- 45:57Speaker 7: slicker than goose poop.
- 46:01Speaker 8: I was never real slippery. We all have our skills.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Skinks have a dry, hard skin covered in smooth, shiny,
- 46:12Speaker 2: overlapping scales. They have visible legs, claws for climbing, sometimes
- 46:19Speaker 2: movable eyelids.
- 46:21Speaker 5: Sometimes. Sometimes.
- 46:22Speaker 2: Sometimes.
- 46:24Speaker 8: Like, when in Rome, you know?
- 46:25Speaker 2: Depends on, like, if you're gritty or not. That's true.
- 46:29Speaker 2: All right.
- 46:29Speaker 7: When we come back, I don't know what y'all talked
- 46:31Speaker 7: about while I was gone, but I do want to
- 46:33Speaker 7: take a look at the depth chart as it currently
- 46:35Speaker 7: sits for LSU football as it is game week here
- 46:37Speaker 7: on OTB.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Off the bench. All right, Matthew. Your time to shine, sir. What?
- 46:45Speaker 8: Well, LNG.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Let's talk about Caterus. Are you kidding me?

- 47:08Speaker 2: creating jobs here in Louisiana. It's about supporting local businesses,

- 47:16Speaker 2: world's leading energy hubs. Through its natural gas production in

- 47:29Speaker 2: As construction continues on Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Catalyst is proud
