- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:38Hi, it's Adam here. How would you like to be
- 0:41exceptional and not just in the affirmation and feather fluffing
- 0:47way? I'm talking about actually being
- 0:50exceptional. Now, if you think of a normal
- 0:52distribution curve, you've seen that bell curve where it starts
- 0:55off shallow, goes up and then goes back down.
- 0:59Well, that bell curve represents a normal distribution curve in
- 1:03almost everything. So in intelligence, someone with
- 1:06very low intelligence is at the tail end on this side, and
- 1:09someone that's a genius level is on the other side.
- 1:12And that also applies with people that are very talented or
- 1:16very accomplished or high performers in anything else.
- 1:21So the best musician in the world is exceptional because
- 1:25they're at that tail end. They're going to be in the top
- 1:28naughty point 1% of all musicians that exist, and
- 1:32someone who is great at photography might be in that top
- 1:37naughty point 1%. Now it would be great if it was
- 1:40just based on talent. But.
- 1:42Actually, a lot have has been. Studied into how?
- 1:45People become exceptional and talent isn't enough.
- 1:50It requires a lot of focused work or discipline and clear
- 1:55sacrifice in certain areas to do what's necessary.
- 1:59And the client that I was working for in this session
- 2:02really desired to be exceptional in their career.
- 2:06And they knew that to do that they would have to be
- 2:08disciplined, structured, they would have to be in a positive
- 2:12mental state. And this almost creates a
- 2:14morning ritual for them. To.
- 2:17Access that state. So a state of exercising in the
- 2:20morning when it's nice and early, getting clear on their
- 2:23objectives, and then bringing that version of them to their
- 2:26workplace to do what would be required in order to be.
- 2:30In that top. Naughty point 1% to be
- 2:34exceptional. And a great way of thinking
- 2:37about this is that in order to be at the highest level, in
- 2:42order to have what other people don't have, you have to do what
- 2:46other people can't do. So if you are an average
- 2:49performer, if you are averagely interested in what you do and
- 2:53you have an average amount of effort, it's highly probable
- 2:56that in that particular area of your life you're going to be
- 3:00average. Now to be exceptional, we can
- 3:03look at this as a cause and effect relationship.
- 3:06You would have to do exceptional things in order to be
- 3:10exceptional. And that's the crux of this
- 3:13hypnosis session. Now hypnosis isn't magic, but it
- 3:16is very good at activating resource states or helping to
- 3:20form the belief systems to create self fulfilling
- 3:24prophecies. A lot of people have no desire
- 3:28to be exceptional. Where I grew up, which is in the
- 3:32UK, there's this element of almost conditioned and cultural
- 3:38conditioning of who do you think you are?
- 3:41If there was any aspiration to be good or great or exceptional,
- 3:47that almost was seen to be a bad thing.
- 3:50And I think lots of people are carrying these cultural
- 3:54conditionings where they want to fit in, they want to be normal,
- 3:58they don't want to have their head above the parapet.
- 4:01And therefore it can require courage and a belief in your
- 4:05convictions. Not because you think you're
- 4:07better than anyone else, it just means that you have a desire to
- 4:10do good things, impactful things, and make a difference in
- 4:14the world. O If there is a part of you that
- 4:16really craves to be exceptional in order to get the best out of
- 4:20this hypnosis session, I would encourage you to do 2 things.
- 4:24One, think of 1 area of your life that you want to be
- 4:28exceptional. Maybe you want to be an
- 4:30exceptional parent, or an exceptional partner, or
- 4:33exceptional in your career or your workplace or your business,
- 4:37or exceptional at fitness. But for this, just think of 1
- 4:40area of your life that you want to be exceptional.
- 4:43The top nought .1% of everyone that exists in that area.
- 4:48And secondly, to give yourself permission to imagine what that
- 4:52would be like. Because actually there is less
- 4:55competition to be exceptional than you would think, because
- 4:58most people aren't willing to do what exceptional people do.
- 5:03If you think of an exceptional tennis player, for example, they
- 5:07train hours and hours and hours every day and they have to go
- 5:11through injuries and they have to, you know, spend a lot of
- 5:14time with the right nutrients. Most people aren't willing to
- 5:17pay that price to be exceptional in that area because tennis is
- 5:21just a casual game that they play.
- 5:23So to be exceptional also means to be doing, to be willing to do
- 5:28what is necessary to get those kind of results.
- 5:32And actually most people aren't. So you might think it's
- 5:35impossible to be exceptional in this area that you're just
- 5:37thinking about, but actually it's suprisingly easy if you are
- 5:41willing to get absolutely clear on what that would mean and what
- 5:45is highly probable that you would need to do in order to be
- 5:49exceptional in that area. Now if this appeals, this
- 5:52session will be really useful. It was created for an individual
- 5:55and for them being exceptional was in the world of business and
- 6:00client management. So it would mean making lots of
- 6:03calls and doing things like that that might not apply to what you
- 6:06want to be exceptional in. So just disregard any
- 6:09suggestions that don't quite fit your circumstances and if you do
- 6:12like the idea of a bespoke session, working one-on-one with
- 6:15me where we get to create a hypnosis session specific to
- 6:19your circumstances. There will be a link in the
- 6:21description. Or you can visit my website
- 6:24adamadamcox.co.uk and there you can book a free consultation,
- 6:28call and we can have a chat and we might end up working
- 6:32together. For now though, find a quiet,
- 6:34comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 6:36disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 7:21Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 7:31resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 7:37And as you exhale, feel a wonderful feeling of release, as
- 7:43if any tension in your jaw, your eyelids as just melting away and
- 7:51leaving your body in that outward breath.
- 7:55And when you breathe in, breathe in deeper and longer in through
- 8:03the nose. And as you exhale, just allow a
- 8:11feeling of a release valve being activated, any suppressed
- 8:22tension, the stress or worries. Allow it to feel like as you
- 8:29exhale, the pressure valve is released, and the longer the
- 8:38outward breath, the more of any internal tension is suddenly
- 8:45released in that outward breath. The deeper you breathe, the more
- 8:53relaxed you feel, and the more relaxed you feel, the deeper you
- 9:01breathe. And as your body relaxes, your
- 9:08imagination awakens. So allow your physical body to
- 9:13stay exactly where it is, and imagine floating up outside your
- 9:20body, up through the ceiling, up into the sky.
- 9:29And just imagine floating to a beach.
- 9:36And not just any beach. I want you to imagine floating
- 9:41through space and time to Manhattan Beach on a sunny day
- 9:49with blue skies, calm waters. But on this day, I want you to
- 10:00imagine you have the entire beach, the entire boardwalk, the
- 10:05entire pier, all to yourself. It's like time has frozen and
- 10:13you have Manhattan Beach just for you.
- 10:16And perhaps you could imagine cycling on the boardwalk and
- 10:28walking in the sand. This is the playground of
- 10:34possibility. You could imagine surfing in the
- 10:36waves, or perhaps even levitating and floating above
- 10:44the beach looking down like a seagull.
- 10:51And I want you to notice the rhythm of the waves is steady,
- 10:57predictable, unforced, where each movement happens without
- 11:05effort and rather trying to relax, because you know that
- 11:16sometimes the harder you try, the more elusive it becomes.
- 11:21You simply allow the motion itself to do what it already
- 11:27knows how to do. So now imagine that you're there
- 11:33on the sand barefoot, and maybe the sand is warm or cool, and I
- 11:45want you to connect with a rhythm, not just of the waves,
- 11:48but your breathing. Almost like rhythm has a way of
- 11:55organizing the mind. And sometimes just by being on a
- 12:00beach, thoughts that aren't important disappear.
- 12:09It's almost like they disappear into the sand, like a wave that
- 12:14breaks the shore. And I want you to find that
- 12:19rhythm where you can guide your attention inward, without
- 12:28resistance, without force. Feel your breathing
- 12:35synchronizing with the waves. And I want you to imagine you
- 12:43find a stick, a bit of driftwood there on the shore, and I want
- 12:49you to stand on that wet sand where the waves meet the beach.
- 12:54And I'm going to countdown from 12:50.
- 13:02Each time I say a number, I want you to imagine writing that
- 13:08number in the wet sand, and then imagine the waves crash over
- 13:19that number and wipe it completely clean as if it was
- 13:24never there. With each descending number, you
- 13:31will feel like you're drifting deeper and deeper, relaxed,
- 13:38drifting to a place of enhanced neural plasticity when new ideas
- 13:46and identities take root that ripple into your future,
- 13:54creating an exceptional life. But for now, look at that sand
- 14:03and 10 Write the number 10 in the sand and see the waves wash
- 14:10it away. Feeling deeper, relaxed now 9
- 14:17Write the number 9 See it there in the sand, and allow the waves
- 14:24to wash it away. 8 You can make that loop the sign of Infinity,
- 14:36and see the waves wash it away. That's it.
- 14:42Each number takes you deeper and deeper relaxed. 7 Now write the
- 14:49number seven there in the wet sand, See it wash away. 6 Deep
- 15:01in the sand, and yet the wave washes it completely away. 5
- 15:07Feeling deeper, relaxed now number washes away.
- 15:14Arms, legs feeling limp, loose and heavy, feeling a desire to
- 15:19yawn as five becomes 4 Write the number down, see it wash away.
- 15:28Breathing deepens, feeling a sense of alignment with yourself
- 15:35#3 see it, wash away. That's it.
- 15:45Find yourself getting to that place not through force, not
- 15:50through discipline, but through permission.
- 15:54Each number takes you deeper. Relaxed too.
- 15:58And and see the waves wash it away.
- 16:05But the final #1 as it washes away, I want you to imagine
- 16:11falling backwards onto a comfortable bed there on that
- 16:16beach, and drifting off into a dreamlike sleep, one writing the
- 16:20number, the waves wash it away. And imagine falling backwards,
- 16:26head on a pillow. We're still hearing the sounds
- 16:29of the waves breaking on the shore.
- 16:34Nothing to do, nothing to force, nothing to strive for.
- 16:43That's it. And I want you to connect with
- 16:48an idea. An idea that movement.
- 16:57This isn't something you're doing, it's something that's
- 17:01happening. You can't remain perfectly still
- 17:07like a statue, even if you tried.
- 17:12Whether the movement is breathing, walking, running,
- 17:17cycling, rowing, your body already understands rhythm and
- 17:26your nervous system already recognizes repetition.
- 17:34And sometimes the brain is sneaky.
- 17:38They call it the law of reverse effect.
- 17:43So instead of trying to focus, focus arrives on its own.
- 17:51And as it does, everything unnecessary begins to fade.
- 18:03Thoughts that don't matter drift out to the edges, distractions
- 18:10lose relevance, and the mind simplifies.
- 18:16And I want you to think of an identity that's got you this
- 18:20far. An identity built on discipline,
- 18:28being competitive. And what if that was exactly who
- 18:36you needed to be to get where you are now?
- 18:44And I want you to embrace a new identity.
- 18:52But before you do, I want you to imagine seeing a hermit crab
- 18:58there on the beach. You know the ones.
- 19:02No shell of their own. They have to find a shell, make
- 19:06it their home. But some of these crabs continue
- 19:11to grow. And if they never leave, their
- 19:15shell growth stops. Sometimes they need to leave the
- 19:24shell they're in before they find a new shell with more space
- 19:31to grow. And all of this discipline and
- 19:38competition was exactly what you needed to fill the shell you're
- 19:44in. But what if the next shell is so
- 19:51big and it requires you to do things to another level?
- 20:02But not through force, not through rigidity, but through
- 20:08growth and aspiration. I want you to imagine seeing
- 20:18seeing that hermit crab leave. A normal shell, and it discovers
- 20:29a shell made of solid gold, twice as big as before, and
- 20:36engraved upon that new shell is a word.
- 20:45Exceptionalism. The hermit crab knows to be
- 20:52exceptional. They need to leave what feels
- 20:56comfortable and step into something that seems beyond the
- 21:06level that they were experiencing before.
- 21:13And I wonder if you can connect not to the behaviour of being
- 21:20exceptional, but to the identity of being exceptional, that it
- 21:30exists at a structural level, almost hard wired into your DNA.
- 21:41And that structural exceptionalism is not about
- 21:45intensity, it's about clarity and doing what would lead to the
- 21:57inevitable. And now, without effort, you
- 22:03begin to recognize something profound within.
- 22:10Not as an idea, but as a core sense of who you really are deep
- 22:17within. When you think back at previous
- 22:21careers, new things you've learned, the challenges you dare
- 22:28to take, you come to an intuitive conclusion.
- 22:37You are structurally exceptional.
- 22:42An exceptional does not mean impressive.
- 22:46An exceptional does not mean intense, and it certainly
- 22:50doesn't mean that you're perfect.
- 22:54Exceptional means that you're not relying on motivation
- 23:03because your rituals, routines and habits ensure that you are
- 23:11exceptional. Your behaviour and your choices
- 23:17happen while others would talk themselves out of them.
- 23:24Your standards remove choices rather than create pressure.
- 23:32And you don't need to wake up disciplined.
- 23:36You wake up aligned with your exceptional self, and as this
- 23:45identity starts to feel like a new home, I want you to imagine
- 23:53how mornings will work now. I want you to imagine what an
- 24:00average or mediocre person what time do they wake up, what do
- 24:04they do? And what time feels like it
- 24:10would be the ideal time to wake up for someone exceptional.
- 24:18And maybe there's a number, perhaps a window of time between
- 24:245:00 AM and 6:00 AM that it feels aligned to being
- 24:29exceptional. When the alarm sounds to wake
- 24:39you up. The average would hit the
- 24:43snooze, the exceptional lean in, lean into any sensation.
- 24:54They wake up tired. It's the exceptional that do
- 24:58what needs to be done, whether they feel like they have the
- 25:03energy or not. And if you wake up with energy,
- 25:09that's just further evidence of how exceptional you are.
- 25:14I want you to feel that you are starting to calibrate and
- 25:19connect, that your body understands the circadian
- 25:25rhythms, that when you wake up early, it's because you've got
- 25:31things that you're choosing to do.
- 25:35No need to scroll, no need to check.
- 25:38The temptations are not for the exceptional.
- 25:44The phone feels strangely irrelevant, like it belongs to
- 25:50someone else, or perhaps something that belongs to a
- 25:56later part of the day. I want you to imagine 1 cup of
- 26:03coffee, nothing more, just enough.
- 26:07And by 6:30, imagine already being at the gym, not rushed,
- 26:13not forced, simply under way. And then imagine what an
- 26:23exceptional individual would do with that hour of training.
- 26:31Imagine the focus, the intention.
- 26:38Repetition is a clean movement, deliberate.
- 26:42No need to overdo it, but equally no need to hold back.
- 26:48I want you to feel that your body is aligned, doing what is
- 26:54exceptional, without needing to do the impossible.
- 27:02Imagine completing the hour with the quiet satisfaction of
- 27:07something finished properly, knowing that even before 7:30,
- 27:12you've accomplished more in this two hours than many people have
- 27:22by lunchtime or even evening. And when it's done, it's done.
- 27:29It feels like it's already a win.
- 27:37Imagine feeling the dopamine, feeling the endorphins, feeling
- 27:43that you have primed yourself to do what you set out to do as a
- 27:51springboard to accomplish even more.
- 27:55The training energy stays in the gym, and the work mode brings
- 28:00out a different intensity. Because discipline for you is
- 28:07not effort, it's alignment. Exceptional people are
- 28:13disciplined not because they have to be, but because they
- 28:19choose to be. And these time blocks are not
- 28:23restrictions, not coercions. They are commitments to your
- 28:28future self, and because the weak is already prepared in
- 28:34advance, all of that Hemming and hawing those micro decisions
- 28:42aren't necessary. Execution becomes simple.
- 28:48The mind stops negotiating. You are aligned with your
- 28:53exceptional self, and to be exceptional you need to be
- 28:58intentional. And to be intentional means you
- 29:03need to have clarity on your intentions.
- 29:09Imagine once a week, almost automatically, you look at
- 29:16yourself in the mirror and you rate yourself from 1:00 to
- 29:2210:00. And it's rating is a framework
- 29:32based on how closely aligned you are with you at your highest
- 29:41levels of capability. But there is no perfectionism
- 29:45here. A6 or higher is success, and
- 29:52perhaps anything over than an 8 is evidence that you are
- 30:01exceptional as an identity and aligned with being exceptional
- 30:09with your standards. And that's when you feel most
- 30:13alive, when you're living in accordance with your identity.
- 30:22No analysis, no emotional charge, just a number.
- 30:30A lower number than you'd like is pause for reflection and
- 30:33refinement, and a higher number feels like a vote of confidence
- 30:42that you are aligned with the frequency that you are meant to
- 30:49be. As someone that is truly
- 30:54exceptional, perfection is irrelevant.
- 30:59It's consistency that compounds, and each week something improves
- 31:06quietly and you don't need to know what it is, but there will
- 31:12be clues. Maybe calls become cleaner,
- 31:17execution more efficient, decisions simpler.
- 31:26I want you to imagine now being on that beach but dreaming that
- 31:32you're cycling. They're on the boardwalk, and
- 31:38you begin to notice something expanding with each rotation.
- 31:47With each stretch of the boardwalk, your focus broadens.
- 31:55With each breath, discipline stabilizes.
- 32:00I want you to feel that momentum is compounding, and the nature
- 32:07of compounding is that it's not a blip.
- 32:13It's growth upon growth upon growth.
- 32:17Feel it's steadily rising reliably, can now almost
- 32:25effortlessly. Feel that even when cycling,
- 32:32your mind can take you forwards and backwards in time.
- 32:39You can remember renting a room. It becomes a beautiful
- 32:46apartment. Remember a time of anxiety but
- 32:54then became confidence. Remember the hassle of starting
- 33:00out and then becoming a leader, someone at the very top, and you
- 33:11can remember that untrained body compounding, shifting, growing,
- 33:17becoming strong and athletic. And then imagine doubling income
- 33:26and then thinking if you've done it once, you can do it again and
- 33:29then again. I don't want you to imagine
- 33:35there is a version of you in your future that has doubled
- 33:41your income several times, with a lifestyle that reflects that
- 33:48income. And what becomes clear is that
- 33:55each version of you already contained the next, That when
- 34:03you were disciplined, you were already exceptional.
- 34:09But when it's something you let go of, the good you enable the
- 34:16great. I want you to feel progression.
- 34:27I want you to imagine a future like you're seeing yourself,
- 34:32like you're someone else, living life with these routines, these
- 34:37standards. Not through discipline.
- 34:44The discipline is just a reflection of your identity, an
- 34:51identity built around exceptional standards.
- 34:55And I want you to think of landmarks, buildings, a mid
- 35:08century modern home. Think of the Los Angeles
- 35:17backdrop, a second home in Palm Springs.
- 35:23Travel that feels aligned, expansive and not frantic.
- 35:30See yourself with a beautiful, aligned partner.
- 35:37See yourself working out with a body that feels capable and
- 35:41strong. That's it.
- 35:47These aren't goals. I want you to feel that their
- 35:51milestones on your journey, the inevitable outcomes of living an
- 35:59exceptional life, and you're already moving in exactly the
- 36:06right direction. That's it.
- 36:12And then imagine what it would feel like.
- 36:19We get a different glimpse. I want you to imagine what it
- 36:30would feel like to truly connect with the truth.
- 36:36A profound sense of alignment with who you are.
- 36:42The future where you don't push anymore, you proceed in
- 36:49accordance with your identity. You operate at an exceptional
- 36:56standard. A standard that feels quiet,
- 37:00inevitable and stable. For others it looks like extreme
- 37:07discipline, looks like struggle. But for you, it doesn't feel
- 37:14that way. Morning discipline happens even
- 37:19before you think. Execution unfolds without
- 37:25friction, and growth continues without urgency.
- 37:34Ask yourself the question when you live truly in accordance
- 37:43with the exceptional version of yourself, Isn't it the case that
- 37:51all those goals become the side effect rather than the
- 37:57intention? When you live in accordance with
- 38:02who you truly are, great things happen.
- 38:09Exceptional things happen to those people that are
- 38:15exceptional. I want you to imagine what it
- 38:21would feel like to cycle back, back to the beach and see
- 38:25someone that looks just like you lying on a bed there in the
- 38:29sand. And then imagine leaving the
- 38:33bike, stepping into that version of you, leaving the bed and
- 38:38paddling in the wet sand and just feel a wonderful
- 38:42connection. I want you to feel like you've
- 38:49awakened in the new identity and that identity still contains
- 38:59that competitive edge, that discipline, But it's a side
- 39:05effect of being someone that lives exceptionally to leave
- 39:12this place but take this new identity and clarity with you.
- 39:17So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 39:22nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 39:27your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 39:33now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 39:36Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 39:44Open your eyes. Open your eyes, 910.
- 39:47Wide awake, Wide awake, wide awake.
- 39:58Thank you. So much for joining me on
- 40:00today's episode of The Hypnotist.
