- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites of the podcast part of the
- 0:11Speaker 1: Volume Podcast Network.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I am Chad Noman of the Action Network.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Our division by division betting breakdowns have begun. We covered
- 0:19Speaker 1: the AFC South on Tuesday.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Today we move.
- 0:25Speaker 1: On to the equally important, equally respected, equally beloved also
- 0:34Speaker 1: southeastern region of football in the NFL, the NFC South,
- 0:43Speaker 1: home of teams and logos nobody outside of the region
- 0:46Speaker 1: cares about, but we're going to talk about them because
- 0:49Speaker 1: we do think there's betting opportunities to help me do
- 0:53Speaker 1: all of that. Let me bring in my COEs, my
- 0:55Speaker 1: companion Michael Padre my BFF Professional Better Simon Hunter.
- 0:59Speaker 3: So I'm hello, Chide, what's going on?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Listen?
- 1:03Speaker 1: You know nothing gets me more sighted and the chance
- 1:07Speaker 1: to talk about professional football in the Southeastern United States.
- 1:13Speaker 4: On April twenty fourth, nineteen seventy four, Florida's Tampa Bay
- 1:17Speaker 4: area was awarded the NFL's twenty seven franchise. The official
- 1:22Speaker 4: team name was announced as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who've
- 1:26Speaker 4: set a standard that any expansion team would be proud
- 1:30Speaker 4: to attain.
- 1:30Speaker 1: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do have a quarterback that we
- 1:36Speaker 1: love that we both think is top ten in Baker Mayfield.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The Bucks Division odds plus one oh two, Conference odds
- 1:45Speaker 1: thirteen to one, Super Bowl twenty eight to one, win.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Total at nine and a half.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Obviously, the biggest factor here is that Liam Cohne, the
- 1:58Speaker 1: offensive coordinator, has left to take over as the Jacks coach.
- 2:02Speaker 1: This will be Baker's third offensive coordinator in three years.
- 2:06Speaker 1: We do have Baker's a top ten QB as I said,
- 2:10Speaker 1: but do we worry Simon? A lot of his success
- 2:17Speaker 1: last year was predicated on him throwing more screen passes
- 2:22Speaker 1: than ever to help him manage pressure, which has always
- 2:26Speaker 1: been an issue for Baker. That man is EPA expected
- 2:30Speaker 1: points added on screens was significantly higher, the second highest
- 2:33Speaker 1: the past four seasons, behind just Patrick Mahomes.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Also helped him decrease the sacrate. So the Bucks have
- 2:41Speaker 2: won this division for a couple of years running. Now
- 2:45Speaker 2: are we selling the Bucks?
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hard not to want to sell him, right.
- 2:50Speaker 3: It's the same thing where it was last year, where
- 2:52Speaker 3: it's like, Okay, you know, that was a great year
- 2:55Speaker 3: from Baker, but we expected regression and then he came
- 2:58Speaker 3: out and had the best year of his career and
- 3:01Speaker 3: We're gonna find out pretty quick, right if it was
- 3:04Speaker 3: him or Liam, Like the guy left has now gone
- 3:07Speaker 3: to a different team, and we expect things in Jackson
- 3:10Speaker 3: well because of that, Right, we really respected his offensive
- 3:13Speaker 3: mind and the team did as well, Like they offered
- 3:14Speaker 3: him an insane amount of Money's probably gonna be the
- 3:17Speaker 3: highest paid offensive coordinator all football, and you know that's
- 3:22Speaker 3: that shows the kind of respect he has in this
- 3:24Speaker 3: league where he's he's using leverage against his former employee
- 3:28Speaker 3: while he's already on that jet to his new team
- 3:30Speaker 3: meeting back with the Jaguars. The whole thing was really scandless,
- 3:33Speaker 3: and you know the Baker got dragged into it, right.
- 3:35Speaker 3: They were trying to get Baker to be mad about it,
- 3:37Speaker 3: and Baker's like, I love that guy. Like that was
- 3:39Speaker 3: when the best Shaer's ever had. I loved working with
- 3:41Speaker 3: him and you saw them in the field. And the
- 3:43Speaker 3: question for me is, like this win does it catch
- 3:47Speaker 3: up too?
- 3:48Speaker 2: Like?
- 3:48Speaker 3: Because that was an insane season by Baker, and that
- 3:51Speaker 3: was without Godwin and Mike Evans for large portions of
- 3:54Speaker 3: that season. And they've gone out and they've drafted a
- 3:57Speaker 3: new rookie receiver that's got a ton of talent, so
- 4:01Speaker 3: they're like, Okay, we're already forward thinking because Mike Evans
- 4:04Speaker 3: here is aging out, God wins aging out. We're already
- 4:06Speaker 3: thinking forward. So now they are easily three to four
- 4:09Speaker 3: deep at receiver. That's a big deal for this team
- 4:12Speaker 3: that plans off throwing the ball a lot. And then
- 4:14Speaker 3: we saw Bucky Irving come out of nowhere last year
- 4:17Speaker 3: and really take off of there. So there isn't really
- 4:19Speaker 3: questions offensively. Their real questions to me, is going to
- 4:22Speaker 3: be the defense, right because I don't think Baker's have
- 4:25Speaker 3: the type of aerarhead last year like naturally, I think
- 4:27Speaker 3: there's gonna be some regression there. It's is this defense
- 4:30Speaker 3: good enough again and to keep doing what they've been doing,
- 4:33Speaker 3: which is one of the best dominant defense aginst the
- 4:35Speaker 3: run and we know Vi Devey, but there's a lot
- 4:37Speaker 3: of other pieces of that defense that's really come to check.
- 4:39Speaker 5: But their secondary has.
- 4:40Speaker 3: Been horrible, Like they are a bad secondary, and lucky
- 4:45Speaker 3: for them, this division there just has not been a challenger.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It feels like, you know, I mean, I'm not saying
- 4:52Speaker 3: it's Matt Ryan was the greatest quarterback ever, but he
- 4:56Speaker 3: dominated this division for a long time, and then Tom
- 4:59Speaker 3: Brady came in, and after he left, Baker's kind of
- 5:02Speaker 3: taking it over. And it's been kind of funny where
- 5:04Speaker 3: I mean, me and you finally came round. We both
- 5:06Speaker 3: put them our top ten, but I mean we really
- 5:08Speaker 3: didn't take Baker serious.
- 5:09Speaker 5: It took a while for us to get there.
- 5:11Speaker 3: So I get that, I get the number, but like,
- 5:13Speaker 3: do you want to bet plus one oh two on
- 5:15Speaker 3: this team?
- 5:15Speaker 5: I really don't.
- 5:16Speaker 3: And I'm having a tough time ticking their win toal
- 5:18Speaker 3: just because again it's another team that it's not a
- 5:23Speaker 3: brutal start to the year, but it's not an easy
- 5:25Speaker 3: one either, Like they have a first place schedule, they
- 5:27Speaker 3: have some tough games. But this is, to me, the
- 5:30Speaker 3: best team. They are the best team in their division.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I'm just not crazy about the odds. I wish they
- 5:34Speaker 3: were a little better, just because you know, we're about
- 5:37Speaker 3: to dive into it. Like people are really loving this
- 5:39Speaker 3: Atlanta team, so I thought these odds would be closer.
- 5:42Speaker 3: But you know, that's that's the that's the respect Baker's
- 5:45Speaker 3: getting this team, so it's earned. But to me, our
- 5:48Speaker 3: jobs value base, I'm just not gonna be touched on
- 5:50Speaker 3: number nine and a half.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I have them right at ten wins.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Another team that's like, I'm gonna am I gonna force
- 5:56Speaker 3: the over here, because I do think they'll get to
- 5:57Speaker 3: ten and seven, nine and eight. They just feel like
- 5:59Speaker 3: that's team. They have that much talent. It's just it's
- 6:03Speaker 3: just hard to get there where you like, we're about
- 6:05Speaker 3: to talk about the Elections Division. There's better value to me,
- 6:08Speaker 3: but I get the respect again A plus one oh two.
- 6:11Speaker 1: By the way, Mecca Abuka was the first round pick
- 6:14Speaker 1: the received Ohio State who they've added, and look, they've
- 6:19Speaker 1: got challenges all across the board. Like you said, that
- 6:21Speaker 1: secondary is pretty bad. I mean, the only thing they
- 6:24Speaker 1: have going for them is that there isn't a dominating
- 6:28Speaker 1: defense in this division. So anytime they're playing anyone in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the division, you have the potential because you have Baker,
- 6:36Speaker 1: because you have Mike Evans, because you have Bucky Irving,
- 6:39Speaker 1: you've got the potential to points on the board and
- 6:42Speaker 1: steel wins in the division.
- 6:45Speaker 2: As much as we sort.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Of don't like any of these teams, the games are
- 6:50Speaker 1: going to be lights out. Think about some of these
- 6:53Speaker 1: games in the NFC South last year, the Panthers made
- 6:56Speaker 1: so many games so exciting. The Saints earlier in the
- 6:59Speaker 1: year games exciting, the Falcons made games exciting, The Bucks
- 7:04Speaker 1: made games exciting because they're not quite good enough to
- 7:10Speaker 1: put teams away. None of them are, and so nine
- 7:13Speaker 1: and a half wins to me, just feels like too many.
- 7:16Speaker 1: You're gonna be sweating that, and there's no reason to
- 7:19Speaker 1: grasp it. It feels like it's overinflated because Baker had
- 7:22Speaker 1: the year that he had, because the team is clearly
- 7:26Speaker 1: the consensus favorite in this division. Zero value, your priced
- 7:33Speaker 1: out of the market. There's just no upside embedding this
- 7:36Speaker 1: team in any of these things.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Right now, you're smiling at.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Me, Yeah, I just and like you're breaking down here,
- 7:41Speaker 3: but it's just very telling. Where we just did the
- 7:45Speaker 3: AFC South, now we're doing the FC South. No team
- 7:47Speaker 3: in either divisions or ten wins and both, like both
- 7:49Speaker 3: these divisions are the lowest win totals of the season
- 7:52Speaker 3: because they're such bad teams. But like you talked about,
- 7:54Speaker 3: these are awful teams. When they play to their own division,
- 7:56Speaker 3: the games are always wonking and tight, and that's really
- 7:59Speaker 3: true NFC South. So I know it's very you look
- 8:03Speaker 3: at that nine and a half, You're like in their
- 8:05Speaker 3: own division, like they should steamroll the Saints, right we
- 8:08Speaker 3: at best case scenario, maybe they split with the Panthers
- 8:12Speaker 3: and you know Atlanta. So it's like you look at
- 8:15Speaker 3: them and you're just saying, well, those are easy wins.
- 8:17Speaker 3: How do they not get to the other four and
- 8:19Speaker 3: a half five wins?
- 8:20Speaker 5: I get why it's.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So so enticing, but it's just it's hard year to
- 8:24Speaker 3: year and to know that these type of wins are
- 8:26Speaker 3: gonna be in the division, right, it's just so fluky
- 8:28Speaker 3: up and down. So it's it's a good number once again,
- 8:31Speaker 3: another really sharp number by the book. Like I think
- 8:33Speaker 3: they really hung a good number here because I think
- 8:35Speaker 3: a general public are gonna going and bet this one,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and professionals will take the under.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Oh I one hundred percent believe the public is going
- 8:42Speaker 1: to bet this over. Yeah, they're gonna They're gonna play
- 8:45Speaker 1: the over. They're gonna hit the plus one h two because,
- 8:49Speaker 1: by the way, they're gonna see a plus number and
- 8:51Speaker 1: think what I can get the bucks for the plus
- 8:54Speaker 1: number to run their division when they've been dominating that
- 8:57Speaker 1: division for so many years and nobody else really improved.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Of course, the public is gonna bet the Bucks in
- 9:04Speaker 1: both scenarios, but we're not, No Simon, We're not gonna
- 9:11Speaker 1: do it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Will we bet the Atlanta Falcons.
- 9:16Speaker 4: The Atlanta Falcons were typified by the players who consistently
- 9:21Speaker 4: made the big play.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Which.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Falcons plus two thirty to win the division, thirty five
- 9:31Speaker 1: to one to win the conference, seventy to one to
- 9:35Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl, the win total at seven and
- 9:40Speaker 1: a half.
- 9:41Speaker 5: I mean, are you gonna you can go first? I
- 9:43Speaker 5: know you have.
- 9:43Speaker 3: You have some love here, a little bit of love
- 9:45Speaker 3: for Michael Pennox. I want to hear you break it down.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I do.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I do, and it's it's forcing me to want to
- 9:52Speaker 1: take the over on this team. My feeling on Penics
- 9:56Speaker 1: is basically I think we know what he is right
- 10:01Speaker 1: And look, I loved Penix. I've been following him long
- 10:04Speaker 1: before he was in the NFL, long before he was
- 10:07Speaker 1: at Washington. He was the quarterback at Indiana. He was
- 10:11Speaker 1: great in Indiana. You think back to the COVID years
- 10:14Speaker 1: when Indiana had a little bit of a run, it
- 10:17Speaker 1: was because of Michael Pennix before he was injured. That's
- 10:21Speaker 1: what got them into sort of contention in the Big
- 10:25Speaker 1: Ten for that one season. And he's not a guy
- 10:29Speaker 1: who's going to go off script. He's not a guy
- 10:31Speaker 1: who's going to make plays for you when things break down.
- 10:34Speaker 2: But he is a guy who can perform.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Very well, maybe even elite, when he's on schedule and
- 10:40Speaker 1: has good protection for a QB with a minimum of
- 10:43Speaker 1: one hundred dropbacks. Last year, only Lamar Jackson had a
- 10:47Speaker 1: better EPA Expected points added from a clean pocket than
- 10:52Speaker 1: Michael Pennix. Fantastic, and the Falcons will know that, so
- 10:58Speaker 1: will level of their team Right now? Can the Falcons
- 11:01Speaker 1: game plan to that? We know they have Drake London,
- 11:05Speaker 1: we know they have Bijeon, we know they have Kyle Pitts.
- 11:10Speaker 1: We know they have talent that might be used differently
- 11:12Speaker 1: with someone like Michael Pennix than it would have been
- 11:14Speaker 1: with Kirk Cousins or predecessors Desmond Ritter.
- 11:19Speaker 2: But how much of that can they really.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Mandate control when everybody in the league knows that, because
- 11:29Speaker 1: if the production does break down, he cannot create on
- 11:33Speaker 1: his own and the whole thing falls apart. And while
- 11:36Speaker 1: the Falcons have had elite run blocking for several years,
- 11:40Speaker 1: they're past blocking and just is mediocre to straight bad.
- 11:44Speaker 2: It's all on Penix and I'm gonna believe and.
- 11:48Speaker 3: We'll see, because they did lose arguably their best offensive
- 11:52Speaker 3: piece to the Bears.
- 11:54Speaker 5: They lost their center, so you know that's a big deal.
- 12:00Speaker 1: But the one thing I'll say about that he was
- 12:02Speaker 1: injured a lot last year, and so, like I was
- 12:04Speaker 1: thinking about this as I was trying to calculate the guy.
- 12:08Speaker 5: What's that they were bad last year?
- 12:11Speaker 3: Right?
- 12:11Speaker 1: But what my point is, he was injured a lot
- 12:14Speaker 1: last year. So whatever Pennis was doing last year to
- 12:17Speaker 1: show progress and success in a clean pocket, he's doing
- 12:21Speaker 1: with probably the same people that he'll be doing it
- 12:23Speaker 1: with this year because the other guy with the backup
- 12:25Speaker 1: was playing so much.
- 12:26Speaker 5: And I was gonna say, it's just hard to take
- 12:27Speaker 5: a lot away from Penis. Where he came in.
- 12:29Speaker 3: I think he had what eight hundred yards, three touchdowns,
- 12:32Speaker 3: and three picks, Like it's really nothing. There was nothing
- 12:35Speaker 3: really there when you go back and watch a tape, Yes,
- 12:38Speaker 3: he did make nice stars, but like you said, if
- 12:40Speaker 3: you get him off.
- 12:40Speaker 5: His spot, he was bad.
- 12:43Speaker 3: He was really bad when you took him off a
- 12:45Speaker 3: spot and his feet, you know, it's it's it's a
- 12:47Speaker 3: knock on him, right. His footwork is not the best
- 12:50Speaker 3: when you get him off because he could throws off balance,
- 12:52Speaker 3: which you don't want him to do because he's not
- 12:53Speaker 3: the arm power like that. So you know, this is
- 12:56Speaker 3: a team that I don't know what they're gonna be
- 13:00Speaker 3: because their defense was so insanely lucky last season in
- 13:04Speaker 3: many ways where I always go back to the coaching,
- 13:07Speaker 3: Like coaching has a lot to do with luck in defenses, right,
- 13:09Speaker 3: I mean the Vikings are the great example ever of
- 13:11Speaker 3: that with Flores, like you can take a little bit
- 13:15Speaker 3: of talent because we always talk the difference between the
- 13:17Speaker 3: best linebacker middle linebacker and football and the fifth best
- 13:21Speaker 3: middle linebacker on football. Sure it's pretty big, but the
- 13:24Speaker 3: best fifth line backround football on the twenty fifth.
- 13:27Speaker 5: It's very small.
- 13:28Speaker 3: And these coaches, they are the ones that make such
- 13:31Speaker 3: a big difference on these middle middle level guys.
- 13:33Speaker 5: So with the.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Falcons, their defense to me is bad, and I do
- 13:38Speaker 3: have major questions about their offensive line. But like you said,
- 13:42Speaker 3: when we talk about these teams, well, I get why
- 13:44Speaker 3: you're taking this jump in on this Falcons team with
- 13:47Speaker 3: Penix the quarterback is the year two bump like the
- 13:50Speaker 3: guy who they don't have much tape on, but you
- 13:53Speaker 3: see the good and if he can just grow on
- 13:55Speaker 3: that and get better, like we just said, if he
- 13:57Speaker 3: can find better move in the pocket, he gets better
- 13:59Speaker 3: at throwing off balance. Like I heard, he's been doing
- 14:01Speaker 3: the same type of training that Mahomes has been doing,
- 14:05Speaker 3: which is like he throws off one leg and does
- 14:08Speaker 3: like all these training different exercise throwing off balance and
- 14:10Speaker 3: working on his lower body. That to me is gonna
- 14:13Speaker 3: be a big step for Penick. So for a team
- 14:15Speaker 3: that has a ton of upside with the unknown, I
- 14:18Speaker 3: get why you're doing it because, like Penix comes in,
- 14:20Speaker 3: if he is just able to be a competent quarterback
- 14:24Speaker 3: something the fout because I've not had since Matt Ryan,
- 14:27Speaker 3: he could change out all offense because they have all
- 14:29Speaker 3: the weapons like Drake London Stud like Robinson Stud and
- 14:33Speaker 3: Kyle Pitts. We don't know, he's never had a quarterback.
- 14:35Speaker 3: So I'm with you. I like the pieces there.
- 14:39Speaker 5: I get why you're going with it.
- 14:40Speaker 3: But there's another team this division I love more. So
- 14:43Speaker 3: that's why I'm just not all in with you. I
- 14:45Speaker 3: get where you're coming from. I did bet their win total.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I have him at eight and a half. The win
- 14:49Speaker 3: total seven and a half, obviously a full game to
- 14:52Speaker 3: the over. I'll take that over on the win just
- 14:54Speaker 3: because of this division. Like the way this division shakes out,
- 14:58Speaker 3: it just feels like I'm I can't see what Chad
- 15:01Speaker 3: seeing here is like them in the Bucks, we could
- 15:03Speaker 3: both see them being nine and eight, ten and seven
- 15:05Speaker 3: fighting like they were last year and last year that
- 15:07Speaker 3: Atlanta did it without a quarterback. So yeah, major upgrade
- 15:10Speaker 3: to them. If Penis can take that next.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Step, dude, you have it at eight and a half.
- 15:14Speaker 1: The totals at seven and a half. Of the teams
- 15:16Speaker 1: we've talked about so far between the AFC South and
- 15:18Speaker 1: the Nancy South, that's the biggest discrepancy.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You haven't had.
- 15:23Speaker 3: A Tennessee was seven, So they were they were a
- 15:25Speaker 3: game and a half. But that's fair, you know, I
- 15:28Speaker 3: know it's the Penix thing. I've been watching tons of Penis.
- 15:31Speaker 3: The Tennessee was five and a half. I hadn't met
- 15:32Speaker 3: seven wins, okay, but yeah, like I just I'm with you.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I've been watching a ton of Penix day because to me,
- 15:38Speaker 3: I loved him in college so much like you know
- 15:42Speaker 3: a Duneesa is a great receiver.
- 15:45Speaker 5: He he obviously.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Helped the quarterback and what Penix did, but it was
- 15:49Speaker 3: also Penix, like he put up some of his passes
- 15:52Speaker 3: as touch passes are incredible. So I'm not disagreeing with
- 15:55Speaker 3: the talents there, and obviously my model believes in this team.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I'm just so hesitant o it because it's like I
- 16:00Speaker 3: watch them on field and I see so many bad habits,
- 16:03Speaker 3: and then when I dive into how lucky their defense
- 16:05Speaker 3: was and how it overperformed so much last year, it's
- 16:09Speaker 3: hard to get there.
- 16:10Speaker 5: It's like because last year, again they just had random wins.
- 16:12Speaker 3: They stole, like they beat the Eagles in Week two
- 16:14Speaker 3: on a two minute drive by Kirk Cousins.
- 16:18Speaker 5: You can't predict those things.
- 16:19Speaker 3: So it's like those ones are tough when you're diving
- 16:22Speaker 3: into their games last year and how they won some
- 16:24Speaker 3: and then you know how they fell off a cliff
- 16:26Speaker 3: once Kirk kind of couldn't get it right right once
- 16:28Speaker 3: defense is realized he can't move in the pocket, it
- 16:31Speaker 3: was over for Atlanta. So is that gonna be the
- 16:33Speaker 3: same problem here? Chat with Penix, Like that's the fear
- 16:36Speaker 3: is if they have another quarterback that can't move well
- 16:38Speaker 3: in the pocket. Every game, he's just gonna be facing
- 16:41Speaker 3: five rushers. It's just it's what it's gonna be.
- 16:43Speaker 1: So with an offensive line that is not great at
- 16:46Speaker 1: past blocking, So that's the fear. Totally get it, totally fair,
- 16:50Speaker 1: totally get it. You mentioned there's another team.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I feel a lot.
- 16:55Speaker 1: More strongly about bets related to our next two teams
- 17:00Speaker 1: then I do about the Falcons and the Bucks. So
- 17:05Speaker 1: let's dig in on the Carolina Panthers.
- 17:08Speaker 2: The loves of our lives.
- 17:14Speaker 1: Plus three ninety to win the division, fifty to one
- 17:18Speaker 1: to win the conference, one hundred and twenty to one
- 17:21Speaker 1: to win.
- 17:22Speaker 2: The Super Bowl.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Win total six and a half. In the final nine
- 17:29Speaker 1: games of the year, the Carolina Panthers went seven and
- 17:33Speaker 1: two against the spread, including four outright wins. Reminder, we
- 17:40Speaker 1: were so bullish on the Panthers. We talked about the
- 17:43Speaker 1: Panthers so much in the preseason, and then they went
- 17:47Speaker 1: out and totally shit the bed and made us look
- 17:50Speaker 1: terrible for the first eight weeks of the season.
- 17:54Speaker 2: What happened?
- 17:55Speaker 1: How did they turn it around? Bryce Young had been injured,
- 18:01Speaker 1: comes back, really kind of has nothing to lose at
- 18:04Speaker 1: this point, because in his first twenty or so games
- 18:08Speaker 1: he's been one of the worst first round quarterbacks, top
- 18:11Speaker 1: overall quarterbacks who's ever been drafted. He went from being
- 18:15Speaker 1: so bad amongst the worst in the NFL to middle
- 18:20Speaker 1: of the pack that, like any movement in his improvement
- 18:24Speaker 1: made him look like.
- 18:25Speaker 2: A viable starter.
- 18:26Speaker 1: But to me, the key, and we talked a lot
- 18:30Speaker 1: about this last year. You could see it on the field,
- 18:33Speaker 1: his decision making, Like he started scrambling to extend plays.
- 18:37Speaker 1: He's already incredibly accurate. His scramble rate jumped from twenty
- 18:42Speaker 1: five percent to forty percent forty seven percent. And this
- 18:45Speaker 1: wasn't because his offensive line is terrible. It's actually top ten,
- 18:50Speaker 1: top fifteen offensive line. It was him moving around in
- 18:53Speaker 1: the pocket to make plays and then using his accuracy
- 18:57Speaker 1: on the run. He'd keep his eyes downfield, he wasn't
- 19:01Speaker 1: looking at rushers, and he was making plays that helped
- 19:05Speaker 1: them stay in the game. Third down completions, fourth down completions.
- 19:08Speaker 1: He just got better.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Can we see that? Can we see that from Bryce
- 19:13Speaker 2: Young this year?
- 19:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like you just broke it down. It was incredible.
- 19:17Speaker 3: He was playing himself out of the league. It was over, right,
- 19:21Speaker 3: And what did Andy Dolton do to He cut his
- 19:25Speaker 3: hand or was he in a car accident? Something happened
- 19:27Speaker 3: with Andy Dalton?
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, like something fluky. It wasn't like.
- 19:31Speaker 5: And that's why he got his job back.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Right. It wasn't like Andy Dalton was ever going to
- 19:35Speaker 1: links just relinquish this job.
- 19:37Speaker 2: No, Bryce Young was done.
- 19:39Speaker 5: It was over.
- 19:40Speaker 3: And you know, we talk all the time how football
- 19:44Speaker 3: it's it's so heavily mental. That's why all these guys
- 19:47Speaker 3: got sports therapists, right, They're constantly working on their brain
- 19:51Speaker 3: and their mind, and it's it's really become a forefront
- 19:54Speaker 3: the last ten years of how mental, how important the
- 19:57Speaker 3: mental aspect of the football game is.
- 19:59Speaker 5: And you the best example is Bryce.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Young, Like he was miserable, like apparently it was just
- 20:05Speaker 3: dead inside.
- 20:05Speaker 5: I mean you would be too.
- 20:06Speaker 3: His first game, I believe he threw like two picks.
- 20:08Speaker 3: It was a train wreck to start the season. And
- 20:10Speaker 3: just kept getting worse and worse every week. And we
- 20:12Speaker 3: got caught, like Chad is talking about, like this is
- 20:14Speaker 3: a classic case of believing too much into a model
- 20:17Speaker 3: and not what you're seeing in front of you. And
- 20:19Speaker 3: I kept saying, but my models, telling me this is
- 20:22Speaker 3: a bad number and this team is way better than
- 20:24Speaker 3: their performing did not make sense. And then sure enough,
- 20:27Speaker 3: once he came back, like you said, they went seven
- 20:29Speaker 3: to two, that's when it made sense, where it's like, oh,
- 20:32Speaker 3: this is what my model is seen. When he puts
- 20:34Speaker 3: it together and plays within the offense, he's good. Like
- 20:37Speaker 3: when he's accurate. They do have they did have pieces
- 20:39Speaker 3: there around him. And now they've gone out and drafted
- 20:42Speaker 3: a wide receiver, which to me was the biggest deal
- 20:43Speaker 3: because you know, as much as we love Bryce Young,
- 20:46Speaker 3: his number one receiver is out and feeling like feeling.
- 20:51Speaker 5: He was supposed to be. These are his sunset years.
- 20:53Speaker 5: He's down there getting ready for retirem.
- 20:55Speaker 3: He's not supposed to be the number of receiver the Panthers,
- 20:57Speaker 3: And he was his most trusted receiver. Bryce anytime on
- 21:01Speaker 3: a big third down, that's who he trusted because he
- 21:03Speaker 3: knew he would run the he would run the right route,
- 21:05Speaker 3: and he would even if the window was crazy small,
- 21:08Speaker 3: he would.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Give him a window. He'd always have that window.
- 21:10Speaker 3: The fact that they went out and got a receiver
- 21:12Speaker 3: with a top ten pick, it's a huge deal and
- 21:15Speaker 3: you know, the the offense. You know, to me, it's
- 21:20Speaker 3: not my question when I'm betting this team. I have
- 21:22Speaker 3: this team at eight wins, so six and a half.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Chad knows. I liked that number a lot divisional odds.
- 21:29Speaker 3: You know, wish it was plus four fifty like it
- 21:32Speaker 3: was earlier, and it's down a plus four hundred and
- 21:33Speaker 3: three to ninety at Some books still love it, still
- 21:38Speaker 3: think it's good value, but it's tough that it's been
- 21:40Speaker 3: bet down because the pros are the same view as us.
- 21:42Speaker 3: It's like, if he did take that next step and
- 21:46Speaker 3: they've spent money on on some of these peace offensive
- 21:49Speaker 3: line of defense, this should be a good team. But
- 21:51Speaker 3: that's that's what the unknown is here is this defense.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Like they were so criminally bad last year, this defense
- 21:57Speaker 3: that even the games they were in they got totally
- 22:00Speaker 3: thrown out because it's like you're asking Bruce Shung, you
- 22:02Speaker 3: have to put up thirty five, thirty thirty eight points
- 22:05Speaker 3: in a game. It's just like they don't have the
- 22:06Speaker 3: offensive weapons to do that. So that to me is
- 22:09Speaker 3: our big fear here, Chazz. We're betting a team that
- 22:12Speaker 3: they might have even worse defense than the Saints. Which
- 22:15Speaker 3: we're gonna get into the Saints about being a train wreck,
- 22:16Speaker 3: but this that's a true statement that Panthers might have
- 22:18Speaker 3: the worst defense in this division. So that, to me
- 22:21Speaker 3: is what I'm really looking forward to in camp, seeing
- 22:23Speaker 3: what I'm gonna see from a defense. You know, the
- 22:26Speaker 3: it's not so such a preseason games now, I've learned
- 22:28Speaker 3: my lesson that it really is about the team practices
- 22:31Speaker 3: when they when they practice with other teams. That film
- 22:34Speaker 3: has been really valuable. They when they have practice against
- 22:36Speaker 3: other teams and you see what type of defensive sets
- 22:39Speaker 3: they're trying to run.
- 22:39Speaker 5: So it's definitely a team Panthers.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna dive more into their defense during this preseason,
- 22:45Speaker 3: but right now as we stand here, I'm just so
- 22:47Speaker 3: infatuated with their offense. I just trusted so much that, yeah,
- 22:51Speaker 3: I have to have to take the divisional odds.
- 22:53Speaker 1: So look, the receiver they drafted in the first round
- 22:56Speaker 1: was that kid McMillan from Arizona, And.
- 23:00Speaker 2: You know, a lot of people, I don't know enough
- 23:02Speaker 2: about him.
- 23:03Speaker 1: To weigh in and whether or not he's going to
- 23:05Speaker 1: be impactful, added value whatever it's going to be. Certainly
- 23:09Speaker 1: if Adam Thielen was his top target. Bryce Young's you
- 23:13Speaker 1: need to find an improvement there.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Agree with you.
- 23:17Speaker 1: This defense was just shredded, right, and even when they
- 23:21Speaker 1: started to get guys back from injury, they never got
- 23:24Speaker 1: very good. And it's what made it. It was what
- 23:27Speaker 1: made every Carolina Panthers bet so heart pounding. The fact
- 23:31Speaker 1: that they did win for those last nine games that
- 23:33Speaker 1: they also covered the spread in is encouraging, but a
- 23:38Speaker 1: lot of that was on Bryce Young. They have the
- 23:40Speaker 1: seventh easiest strength of schedule per Vegas win totals. I'm
- 23:46Speaker 1: so glad to hear me hear you say that you
- 23:49Speaker 1: like the Panthers as a division long shot or at
- 23:52Speaker 1: least over that six and a half win total, because like,
- 23:56Speaker 1: that's just blaring the wind total. To me, is the
- 24:00Speaker 1: real play for this team, because that is a blaring
- 24:04Speaker 1: discrepancy in the market. But then again, you know, we
- 24:09Speaker 1: could be falling into a trap.
- 24:11Speaker 5: We could.
- 24:12Speaker 3: But the thing I love the most about their schedule
- 24:15Speaker 3: is it is brutal how late they're buys their bye week.
- 24:17Speaker 3: I believe it's not until week fourteen or fifteen, like
- 24:21Speaker 3: something crazy late like that. When you look at their schedule,
- 24:23Speaker 3: lay it ends is they end New Orleans, Tampa and
- 24:27Speaker 3: then Tampa again when the last game of season. I
- 24:28Speaker 3: think Seattle's thrown in the middle there somewhere, so they
- 24:30Speaker 3: get to face Tampa twice in the final three weeks.
- 24:34Speaker 5: That's a big deal when we're.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Ben win totals, right, because Tampa if they do win
- 24:38Speaker 3: this division somehow like they did last year, and they
- 24:40Speaker 3: got a game out and they don't need it, that's
- 24:43Speaker 3: a huge throwaway for us the end of the season.
- 24:45Speaker 5: And even better.
- 24:46Speaker 3: If we're in this spot for Carolina stealle this division.
- 24:49Speaker 3: They're facing the divisional leader most likely too out of
- 24:52Speaker 3: the last three weeks. That's how you steal the season, right,
- 24:55Speaker 3: That's how you make it happen. So to me, when
- 24:58Speaker 3: I have a young team like they are, inexperienced, I
- 25:00Speaker 3: want that type of thing. I don't want them facing
- 25:02Speaker 3: the Bucks early in the year. I want them faced
- 25:03Speaker 3: the end of the year where you could coach these
- 25:05Speaker 3: guys up and have them in them a rhythm. Where
- 25:08Speaker 3: we saw it last year, This Panthers team got better
- 25:10Speaker 3: as a season went along.
- 25:11Speaker 5: That's so you know you have a good coaching staff.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So that that was something that jumped out to me
- 25:16Speaker 3: last year that I knew going to this year, I
- 25:18Speaker 3: was gonna keep drinking the cool lady. Like the way
- 25:19Speaker 3: they finished what'd you say, seven and two against the.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Spread right away I wins? Yeah, like really impressive stuff.
- 25:27Speaker 3: So you know, we we we might get a little
- 25:30Speaker 3: lucky here with the way the schedule makers did it,
- 25:32Speaker 3: where that that final three weeks facing the Bucks twice
- 25:35Speaker 3: could be a game changer for this team.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Well, look, I think they're opening game against the Jags,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and so we're going to learn a lot even in
- 25:43Speaker 1: that opening week. How close can we get to that
- 25:46Speaker 1: six and a half win total. It's gonna be a
- 25:48Speaker 1: tough play for us because we love betting on the
- 25:52Speaker 1: Jags and we love betting on the Panthers. So what
- 25:56Speaker 1: are we gonna do, Matt Mitchell when we post this
- 26:02Speaker 1: Q the conspiracy music? Because I have one right here, Simon,
- 26:13Speaker 1: you just said something really interesting to me. The end
- 26:16Speaker 1: of the season, they get the Bucks two of the
- 26:19Speaker 1: last three weeks. The NFL has made a really concerted
- 26:23Speaker 1: effort the past several years to backload the division matchups,
- 26:28Speaker 1: So there is something exciting that happens at the end
- 26:31Speaker 1: of the season where division races could be in play.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Right to me, this is the NFL saying we think
- 26:43Speaker 1: the Panthers are really the team that could have the
- 26:48Speaker 1: best shot at knocking off the Bucks.
- 26:52Speaker 2: By the way they're scheduling. This script is written my friend.
- 27:02Speaker 5: I wish it was so.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I don't know if the Panthers are on the schedule
- 27:05Speaker 3: makers radar yet, right, They probably do that the top fourteen,
- 27:09Speaker 3: top sixteen teams, and then they they're probably throwing like
- 27:13Speaker 3: two major markets like Chicago and some of their major market.
- 27:16Speaker 5: That's who.
- 27:17Speaker 3: That's who the schedules they dictate the the these NFC
- 27:20Speaker 3: South foes, they just throw them in a blender.
- 27:23Speaker 5: They make them their schedule match the real team.
- 27:25Speaker 3: So I view this as luck like they got really
- 27:29Speaker 3: lucky to meet chat where that's that's exact scenario they needed, right,
- 27:34Speaker 3: facing them three twice in the last three weeks, that's
- 27:37Speaker 3: a huge deal to me for this Panthers team, just
- 27:39Speaker 3: because if they would face them, like we said, if
- 27:41Speaker 3: they started the season opening at the Bucks, Okay, you
- 27:44Speaker 3: already own one against the division, against the top dog
- 27:47Speaker 3: in the division, that would be a guaranteed loss, right
- 27:49Speaker 3: them going down face Baker in Tampa Week one. So
- 27:53Speaker 3: to me, they caught a nice break then said they're
- 27:56Speaker 3: going down a floor. They're going to Jacksonville. Like that's
- 27:58Speaker 3: a much much nicer start to the season. They're heading
- 28:01Speaker 3: down to Tampa. So yeah, like you said, there's a
- 28:03Speaker 3: lot conspiracy.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I agree with you a little bit.
- 28:05Speaker 3: I think they did do the Panthers some favorites in
- 28:07Speaker 3: some ways, But that to me is insane.
- 28:11Speaker 1: The luck of the time, I will not stand for
- 28:15Speaker 1: Carolina Panther an NFC South disrespect. Who talks that way
- 28:21Speaker 1: about one of the eight divisions in the NFL. They
- 28:24Speaker 1: all deserve our equal respect.
- 28:28Speaker 2: They are all.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Worthy of being challenging division races. At the end, at
- 28:33Speaker 1: the end, they capture our attention. These are teams in
- 28:37Speaker 1: the National Football League.
- 28:38Speaker 2: They all matter.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Simon who says stuff like that, this guy, Well, one
- 28:45Speaker 1: of the teams that maybe shouldn't be in the NFL
- 28:47Speaker 1: is the New Orlands Saints.
- 28:48Speaker 4: What do you think about the Saints?
- 28:56Speaker 1: They are fourteen to one to win the division, in
- 29:00Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty to one to win the conference,
- 29:03Speaker 1: four hundred to one to win the Super Bowl, longest
- 29:07Speaker 1: odds of any team in the NFL to win the
- 29:10Speaker 1: Super Bowl longer than the Cleveland Browns, Jermaine, because the
- 29:16Speaker 1: win total for the Saints is five and a half.
- 29:20Speaker 2: And this is what's interesting to me. Last year the Pats.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Were three hundred to one and had a season win
- 29:29Speaker 1: total of four and a half. The Panthers were two
- 29:33Speaker 1: fifty to one and had a season win total of
- 29:36Speaker 1: five and a half. Even the Browns at four and
- 29:39Speaker 1: a half wins are at three hundred to one. When
- 29:45Speaker 1: you think about that, when you hear that as better,
- 29:48Speaker 1: what is that signaling to you? Because it is signaling
- 29:53Speaker 1: something to me.
- 29:55Speaker 3: I mean, it's simple not that the sports book are
- 29:57Speaker 3: begging anybody coming a dollar on this team if willing
- 30:02Speaker 3: to in a positive way, so that that, to me,
- 30:04Speaker 3: is the signal there. That's just all negative money right
- 30:07Speaker 3: now in the Saint It's nothing positive to me.
- 30:10Speaker 2: The signal is bet the under five and a half. Yeah, right,
- 30:16Speaker 2: that's ultimately what it's saying.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Like they're desperate for the money at four hundred to one,
- 30:22Speaker 1: But why would they put their number at five and
- 30:25Speaker 1: a half. That's what doesn't make sense to me. It
- 30:28Speaker 1: feels like they've inflated this number and I can't I
- 30:30Speaker 1: can't figure out why.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Really weird, I agree with you, This to me feels
- 30:35Speaker 3: like a number though. If this kid Shuck comes out
- 30:37Speaker 3: and he's just dog shit in this preseason, this will
- 30:40Speaker 3: go to four and a half, like they will have
- 30:42Speaker 3: to move it if he's just that terrible.
- 30:45Speaker 5: You know, this.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Football is a weird sport, right where it's like this,
- 30:50Speaker 3: this is the type of team. They have enough veterans
- 30:53Speaker 3: across the board that if he comes in he's just
- 30:56Speaker 3: comparable at the correct position, they could steal some games.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Right with Kamar, especially in the backfield, there is a
- 31:01Speaker 3: path there.
- 31:03Speaker 5: But I've gone and watched this kids.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Film and he is so raw and bad and injury prone,
- 31:10Speaker 3: and then you look at the guys behind him. It
- 31:12Speaker 3: feels like a full on reset without them saying it's
- 31:15Speaker 3: a full on reset. And you don't get that much
- 31:17Speaker 3: on football, right, but you have to when you're a
- 31:19Speaker 3: team that spent your money in the worst way on
- 31:23Speaker 3: bad players along contracts, And it's basically all these backloaded
- 31:28Speaker 3: years from the Drew Brees era catching up to them, right.
- 31:30Speaker 5: It's it's just.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Been the really brutal in the books, the money they've
- 31:33Speaker 3: they've allocated these different players.
- 31:35Speaker 5: So yeah, this was a game. I mean, this was
- 31:38Speaker 5: a line right away.
- 31:39Speaker 3: When I saw it open up, I jumped on the
- 31:41Speaker 3: under and I'm like you, I.
- 31:43Speaker 5: Was just like, am I the fish here?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Is?
- 31:46Speaker 5: Is this too easy?
- 31:47Speaker 3: Because it's I didn't get the five and a half
- 31:49Speaker 3: hanging that number either.
- 31:51Speaker 5: I just I didn't know what.
- 31:53Speaker 3: The book's models giving them back to even think they
- 31:56Speaker 3: could get the six wins this season, because that's hard,
- 31:59Speaker 3: Like when you don't have anything at the quarterback position
- 32:01Speaker 3: and anything behind it, that is really hard to steal games.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Like if you if they had Joe Flacco there, I
- 32:07Speaker 3: might have hesitation. Honestly, I know it sounds stupid, but
- 32:10Speaker 3: if they had a comparable veteran quarterback, just because they
- 32:13Speaker 3: have so many good veterans on the team, it would
- 32:15Speaker 3: give me. Paul as cheb I think you, I and
- 32:18Speaker 3: the public and most professional vetters are all the view
- 32:20Speaker 3: of this is just a team much like the Giants
- 32:23Speaker 3: that you know, they don't mind to tank the season
- 32:26Speaker 3: because in their minds there's a great group of quarterbacks
- 32:29Speaker 3: coming out next year and it's a good time to reset.
- 32:33Speaker 3: If you're an organization like the Saints in a division
- 32:35Speaker 3: that you.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Know, all these teams say what you want.
- 32:39Speaker 3: They have their quarterbacks for the most part, right the
- 32:41Speaker 3: team Bryce Young, it's his team for now. You know,
- 32:45Speaker 3: the Bucks obviously have their quarterback, and we think Michael
- 32:48Speaker 3: Pennox will be the Atlantis quarterback. They they don't have
- 32:51Speaker 3: any identity right now the Saints. So I think that's why.
- 32:54Speaker 3: I mean, you're both so confident in this one. And
- 32:57Speaker 3: there's always going to be the scenario of the vikings
- 32:59Speaker 3: like last year, right, there's always that randomness that if
- 33:01Speaker 3: a quarterback can come in and just shock a team
- 33:04Speaker 3: and breathe life into it. Nothing I've seen from this
- 33:07Speaker 3: kid Shuck has done that. Chet Like even the stuff
- 33:10Speaker 3: I'm reading Abouttle, it's just growing pain after growing pain,
- 33:13Speaker 3: after picked the linebacker, after picked in the cornerback, and practice.
- 33:17Speaker 3: It's just a steep, steep learning curve for someone like him.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Was a hell a lot of reps in college because
- 33:22Speaker 3: of injuries and other factors too. You are now in
- 33:24Speaker 3: the NFL at playing at the highest level, and you're
- 33:27Speaker 3: supposed to be the leader of this team. I think
- 33:29Speaker 3: it's just a lot to ask of a kid like this.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So yeah, I think we're in sink here. It's one
- 33:33Speaker 3: of my favorite bets, the under Saints five and a half.
- 33:37Speaker 1: It's Tyler Shock spelled s s h o u g
- 33:42Speaker 1: h but pronounced shock as in oh fuck, this guy's
- 33:47Speaker 1: our quarterback. Yeah, and I'll throw a little another little
- 33:52Speaker 1: conspiracy at you.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Ready. I love it, Okay, ruling Saints clearly.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Not not being aggressive to get quarterbacks, to get quality competition,
- 34:08Speaker 1: like you said, so many salary cap issues that here.
- 34:12Speaker 5: We go the coward take.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I don't know what's I don't know. I don't know
- 34:17Speaker 2: what the coward take.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Is about the Archie Manning.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's what I was gonna say. Yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 2: did he say that already?
- 34:24Speaker 3: I'm almost positive I saw one of his clips on
- 34:26Speaker 3: my YouTube pop up from the volume.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, I thought I was like, I thought
- 34:31Speaker 1: it was so far ahead of it.
- 34:34Speaker 5: No, I'm I'm with it.
- 34:35Speaker 3: I'm with you guys though, Like it's I've the expectations
- 34:38Speaker 3: Archie man Yeah, but he might not even come out
- 34:41Speaker 3: this year, Like he's right, that's what someone just say.
- 34:45Speaker 5: He might have come I don't I don't know if
- 34:46Speaker 5: he'll come out this year. But if he lights it up,
- 34:49Speaker 5: why would he not come out.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Like he lights it up. Yeah, he's got and he's guaranteed,
- 34:55Speaker 2: you know, as much as anything's a guarantee to be
- 34:58Speaker 2: the number one overall pick and go to the scene
- 35:00Speaker 2: and the Saints have the number one overall pick.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I would love for his dad to be like, no,
- 35:07Speaker 3: you're going back to college.
- 35:08Speaker 5: You ain't going yeah, New Orleans.
- 35:10Speaker 1: That's why we love sports, because there is symmetry and
- 35:14Speaker 1: poetry and romance, and we can all get behind these
- 35:19Speaker 1: stories because that is when we are at our happiest.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Who doesn't want a great family story about Arch Manning
- 35:28Speaker 1: going to the Saints, revitalizing the team, bringing back joy
- 35:34Speaker 1: to his hometown city, doing what his grandfather couldn't do
- 35:39Speaker 1: as the number one overall pick of the same exact team.
- 35:48Speaker 2: That is poetry. That's fucking Dylan Thomas shit right there.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Also, I love the thought of we were I think
- 35:58Speaker 3: two weeks into the season last year, the Saints were
- 36:00Speaker 3: two and oh, and there are people coming on different
- 36:04Speaker 3: TV shows, different airwaves saying, bet the Saints to win
- 36:07Speaker 3: the NFC, bet them to win the division. This is
- 36:10Speaker 3: a different team. They have all the pieces, So I
- 36:13Speaker 3: think of how far they've come from that two and
- 36:15Speaker 3: oh start to where we're at right now, horebably the
- 36:18Speaker 3: worst team in football. It just NFL comes at you
- 36:21Speaker 3: so fast, that can change so much. It's just I
- 36:25Speaker 3: feel for this franchise obviously. You know Drew Brees left,
- 36:29Speaker 3: Schean Payton left and left you holding the bag, right
- 36:31Speaker 3: with all these guys, you need to just blow it
- 36:34Speaker 3: all up and reset. You have a lot of veterans
- 36:36Speaker 3: on the team that you know, they're playing out their
- 36:38Speaker 3: contracts at the end, it's all coming to an end.
- 36:41Speaker 3: This is going to be a two three four year rebuild. Like,
- 36:45Speaker 3: they have so much work to do. So that's the
- 36:48Speaker 3: weird thing about them. That's why the books hung this
- 36:50Speaker 3: at five and a half, because they do have enough
- 36:52Speaker 3: veteran talent that if this kid Shuck comes in, he's good.
- 36:55Speaker 3: This could hit to me like me and chat just
- 36:57Speaker 3: talking about I think the books are way off the
- 36:58Speaker 3: mark here. I just everything I've s from this kid.
- 37:01Speaker 3: He is not the answer to their problems right here.
- 37:03Speaker 3: He's just naturally You see it right away. With some
- 37:05Speaker 3: of these guys coming in like they can read the
- 37:07Speaker 3: field or they just have the god given ability. He
- 37:11Speaker 3: has neither right now, so just it just feels like
- 37:14Speaker 3: dark days ahead. And I would tell you to grab
- 37:16Speaker 3: the five and a half now because I could see
- 37:17Speaker 3: this going to four and a half after a couple
- 37:19Speaker 3: of preseason games.
- 37:21Speaker 2: This has Chris Wanky vibes written all over it.
- 37:24Speaker 5: I agree.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Do you remember Chris Wanky? Were you old enough for
- 37:27Speaker 2: Chris Wanky?
- 37:28Speaker 5: Yeah? Was he Florida?
- 37:30Speaker 1: Chris Wanky was Florida State, had played baseball, got drafted
- 37:34Speaker 1: as a very old dude, went to the Panthers. They
- 37:38Speaker 1: put the ball in his hands and immediately with.
- 37:42Speaker 2: George Seffert, I think went one in fifteen.
- 37:45Speaker 1: That's brutal, And you know you feel bad for these guys,
- 37:49Speaker 1: right he's twenty five. Everyone like any other time, like twenty.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Five always too old.
- 37:53Speaker 1: But they're playing that office maturity and it's a it's
- 37:57Speaker 1: a hard spot to step into with an very good
- 38:00Speaker 1: team with a new coach who probably knows, Hey, we're
- 38:04Speaker 1: looking to play for next season, so do the best
- 38:06Speaker 1: you can this year.
- 38:07Speaker 2: We're going to give it to you. It could be
- 38:11Speaker 2: a very very tough road.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Favorite Bets, I feel like you and I are pretty aligned.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I made a list of my three favorite and I
- 38:21Speaker 1: think they correspond directly with yours. I just don't know
- 38:24Speaker 1: if they're in the same order.
- 38:27Speaker 2: So you go first.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Yeah, my favorite bets would be Panthers over six and
- 38:32Speaker 3: a half, Saints under five and a half, and then
- 38:35Speaker 3: the Panthers Division plus four hundred. I just to me,
- 38:39Speaker 3: that's the best value where you know, we'll talk right
- 38:41Speaker 3: before the season. I'll give it a couple of parlays.
- 38:43Speaker 3: I'll probably throw the Bucks into one. But as we're
- 38:48Speaker 3: saying right now, I don't have a single dollar invest
- 38:49Speaker 3: in that Bucks team and they win total Super Bowl
- 38:52Speaker 3: odds any of it. I'm just I don't know. I
- 38:55Speaker 3: hate that I'm so skeptical of this team, but I
- 38:57Speaker 3: just can't help it. There's just so many questions right
- 38:59Speaker 3: now what they're going to be like with all the
- 39:01Speaker 3: turnover at the offensive coordinator position.
- 39:04Speaker 1: I had Saints under five and a half, Panthers over
- 39:08Speaker 1: six and a half, uh, and then I had Falcons
- 39:11Speaker 1: plus two thirty. I just couldn't get there on the
- 39:16Speaker 1: Panthers to win the division.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I know it's the better value.
- 39:18Speaker 1: It's a little bit like the Titans play right, Like
- 39:20Speaker 1: why invested short numbers when.
- 39:24Speaker 3: Even after my old Bucks playing the Bucks twice in
- 39:26Speaker 3: the last three weeks.
- 39:27Speaker 2: You know, and now I think I'm rethinking it.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Yeah, so fuck it.
- 39:31Speaker 2: I'm with you, my man. Give me the panthers on it.
- 39:36Speaker 3: They're a little little guy on it, a little shekels.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Yeah, a little couple of win forty. Let's go party,
- 39:41Speaker 5: Let's go all right.
- 39:42Speaker 2: That was good. That was good. We're down. We've we've done.
- 39:45Speaker 1: We've done the Southeastern teams, We've done the AFC South,
- 39:48Speaker 1: We've now done the NFC South. The Favorites will return
