Victor Willis, the legendary voice behind Village People’s disco anthems like “Y.M.C.A.” and “In the Navy,” has died at 74 after a brief illness. A founding member who left the group in 1980 but returned in 2017 thanks to a landmark court ruling granting him partial ownership of the band’s hits, Willis also battled public struggles with addiction.
