The Empty Man
Aired: Nov 7th, 1952. Marshal Matt Dillon buys Chester a birthday watch and settles in for a quiet supper with Kitty Russell — until she warns him that young Tara Henry, the orphaned girl he rescued months earlier, has fallen in with a hollow, dead-eyed drifter named Jack Grace at the Texas Trail saloon. Dillon promises to speak to Tara's adoptive family, but Grace may already have gotten to them first. A quiet character study of frontier menace hiding behind good manners.
