- 0:00What's up, everybody? Charlie Marlow here.
- 0:02Let's break down the big game. Can I call it the Super Bowl?
- 0:05Will I get sued if I call it the Super Bowl?
- 0:07All right, Seahawks, Patriots. The best team won.
- 0:13Let's be real, Wasn't a good game at all.
- 0:16Even the final score. What, 2913?
- 0:20It wasn't even that close. I saw a stat that Drake May had
- 0:25the most passing yards in any quarter in the history of the
- 0:28Super Bowl with something like 235 in the fourth quarter.
- 0:32And I was like, wow, that's what you call stat padding, folks.
- 0:37That's what you call garbage time.
- 0:39That's where all the crazy stuff happens for gambling purposes,
- 0:42right Where? Look, almost there.
- 0:45The over almost hit. Remember that Kenneth Walker
- 0:50touchdown was called back that would have went over after that
- 0:53game had no business going over. I'm not just saying that because
- 0:57I took the under. Let's start there gambling.
- 1:00I did a show with Brendan Schaeffer on STL Sports Central
- 1:04and I gave my prediction. This was Friday.
- 1:07I said 2720 Seahawks. But then when it got time to
- 1:13actually bet, I got afraid. I got afraid.
- 1:17I didn't bet the Seahawks and I actually took the under.
- 1:21So I changed my mind. But that was based on following
- 1:24the money 'cause I know I'm not a good gambler.
- 1:27But here's the thing, I know probably some of you don't care
- 1:29about gambling, so I'll just move on to the actual game.
- 1:33This is where also, though it does, it does lead into gambling
- 1:37because I was thinking as I'm thinking, who's going to win
- 1:40this game? I was always wanting to go
- 1:44Seahawks, but I'm like, man, am I just I think what happens is
- 1:48we just think too much. It's paralysis by analysis.
- 1:53I'm thinking Patriots 4 1/2. Can they keep it close?
- 1:57So again, I deserve no credit because I didn't actually pull
- 2:01the trigger on the bet. But leading into the game, I was
- 2:04thinking to myself, OK, the Seahawks beat a really good Rams
- 2:10team in a great game. I think most people would agree
- 2:13the NFC was the better conference.
- 2:16And I'm just thinking, and some of this now is hindsight, but
- 2:19I'm thinking about the Patriots. And I was thinking, do the
- 2:25Patriots, I'm not going to say they don't deserve to be there.
- 2:28That's not that's not what I'm trying to say.
- 2:30But the question is, would the Patriots have beaten the Broncos
- 2:34if Bo Nicks was healthy? Don't you think it's pretty fair
- 2:38to say the answer to that is no? And I'm not?
- 2:41Look, I have no dog in the fight.
- 2:42You can probably make the argument the Bills, should it be
- 2:45the Broncos, remember the crazy interception at the end of that
- 2:49game in overtime? Heck, maybe again, it didn't
- 2:54happen. But you can make the case that
- 2:56the Bills, they beat the Broncos.
- 2:59They probably beat the Patriots. They're in the Super Bowl.
- 3:01But again, I think when you watch that game, I know it was
- 3:04crazy weather, snow, cold, Broncos, Patriots, Jared
- 3:09Stidham, but you're watching that and you're thinking, man,
- 3:12if Bonex is healthy, the Broncos win that game.
- 3:15By the way, if Sean Payton kicks the field goal early, it's tied
- 3:18right? Who who knows what's going to
- 3:20happen? So anyway, I'm not even trying
- 3:22to discredit the Patriots. I know it probably sounds like
- 3:24that. But I guess my my point is, when
- 3:29you watched the game last night, if you really kind of thought it
- 3:31through and some of this happens in hindsight, it's not shocking
- 3:36at all that the Seahawks won this game easy.
- 3:39And look, a lot of the pundits, basically everybody was picking
- 3:42the Seahawks. And that's the one thing when
- 3:44everybody picks one team, it makes you want to go the other
- 3:47way. But guess what?
- 3:49Sometimes folks, the public is right and sometimes all the
- 3:52pundits are right. And sometimes it's just pretty
- 3:55obvious before so, but then even more so after the fact that the
- 4:01Seahawks were just the better complete team just all across
- 4:06the board. That defense is freaking crazy.
- 4:11Sam Darnold manage the game in the Super Bowl.
- 4:15I know he had a bunch of turnovers in the regular season,
- 4:16but Kenneth Walker deservingly the MVP because he dictated the
- 4:22pace of that game. He controlled the game,
- 4:24especially in the first half. You had all the field goals, but
- 4:28like, you can't, you can't give the, you can't give the MVP to a
- 4:31kicker. Kenneth Walker was the reason
- 4:34that the Seahawks had all those field goals and it got to
- 4:38whatever it was 12 zip and all that.
- 4:40Great story, obviously for Sam Darnold.
- 4:43You love those stories of just guys who it's not easy
- 4:48overcoming adversity to have success.
- 4:51Let's be real. And by the way, the Seahawks
- 4:55from a pass catching standpoint, Walker catching balls out of the
- 5:00backfield, Jackson Smith in Jigba, best receiver you got.
- 5:05You got Barner caught a touchdown and that was a big
- 5:08gambling play was him to be a touchdown scorer.
- 5:10A lot of people made money on that.
- 5:11Shaheed the speedster. You got a lot of different ways.
- 5:16Sam Darnold can go there. Drake May it wasn't all on him,
- 5:21but man, he was not ready for the big stage.
- 5:23He just wasn't. Look, the Seahawks defense was
- 5:26in his face the whole frickin game.
- 5:28But and and that kid, he'll probably be back, you would
- 5:30think, but he was not ready for the big stage in that game.
- 5:34There was a lot of passes where he was just little bit behind,
- 5:37little bit in front, just not crisp, not sharp.
- 5:40But it probably wouldn't have mattered.
- 5:42Probably wouldn't have mattered. And then also, I mean, give the
- 5:45Patriots defense credit early because they were bending but
- 5:50not breaking with all those field goals.
- 5:51So if the Seahawks can convert touchdowns, that game's freaking
- 5:56a blowout. I mean, it really was a blowout.
- 6:002913 doesn't feel like a blowout.
- 6:03But into the third quarter, whatever it was when the
- 6:08Seahawks, they, well, they scored on defense, but you never
- 6:12really had a ball game. I guess for a second there it
- 6:14was, what was it, 19 to 7 or something like that?
- 6:17You could kind of just hope and pray that something crazy could
- 6:19happen. But did you ever really think, I
- 6:23mean, 1/4 in 1/4 into the game, did you ever really think the
- 6:26Patriots were going to win the game?
- 6:29I did not. So there you go.
- 6:31Congrats to the Sea Pigeons commercials and all that.
- 6:35I love the Duncan commercial. I like the toilets commercial.
- 6:39I even thought the one, I think it was Coinbase where they just
- 6:42did like a karaoke. I thought that was memorable.
- 6:45Your, your budget was like 0 for that, even though you have to
- 6:48spend however much millions of dollars for the ad space.
- 6:51But I thought that was memorable.
- 6:53The halftime show, which is what everybody's talking about,
- 6:55because in our world everything is political and everything has
- 6:58to be political. I'd heard a Bad Bunny, never
- 7:03really knew any of his songs. So I was like, alright, I'm
- 7:06gonna, I'm gonna obviously watch this dude and see what it's all
- 7:09about. And this is what I've done
- 7:10recently because I don't know anything about music anymore.
- 7:13So some of these halftime shows, like I'd heard of Kendrick
- 7:16Lamar, I like some of Kendrick Lamar's songs, but the halftime
- 7:19show last year really opened my eyes to Kendrick Lamar.
- 7:22Even a couple years ago, Bruno Mars, I was just not a person
- 7:25that knew a lot about Bruno Mars.
- 7:27And the halftime show opened my eyes to Bruno Mars.
- 7:30So Bad Bunny look, not necessarily my cup of tea.
- 7:37And I I thought the production value was really cool.
- 7:40I didn't love it Look had nothing to do with the the
- 7:45Spanish songs because some of it, I mean, La Bamba, La Bamba
- 7:49is one of my favorite songs growing up.
- 7:51I love that movie. Ritchie Valens and Lou Diamond
- 7:55Phillips Despacito. Isn't that all Spanish?
- 7:58It just wasn't my cup of tea, but I thought it was cool.
- 8:02The dude is an American citizen, he's from Puerto Rico.
- 8:05I know the Hispanic community loved it, so it's all good.
- 8:08I know you got the turning point halftime show.
- 8:10I just think, I mean, I laugh. The fact that we have to have
- 8:13competing halftime shows in 2026.
- 8:17It just shows where we are politically, where everybody's
- 8:19nuts. I'm telling you, people are just
- 8:21nuts. There are people that they can't
- 8:24have any thoughts that aren't political.
- 8:26I't sorry. And if that's you, I love you,
- 8:28but stop. Just stop because like we're
- 8:32we're breaking our brains people.
- 8:34Not everything has to be political, but there you go.
- 8:38Seahawks better team told you about Bad Bunny commercials.
- 8:43Plus I can't watch every single commercial.
- 8:45So I don't know. I'm sure there was some I
- 8:47missed, but I like Duncan at the end with Tom Brady.
- 8:52That was good. Jennifer Aniston and the toilet
- 8:55ones made me laugh. So there you go.
- 8:58If you're in Saint Louis, Triad Bank, Best thing I ever did for
- 9:01my rental property business, taking all my commercial loans
- 9:04from a big a big National Bank that didn't care about me to a
- 9:09local bank in Frontenac. Triad Bank, my guy, Matthew
- 9:12Tobin, relationship based banking.
- 9:14I'm telling you, Triad Bank, they get, they do retail
- 9:16banking, they do it all. Got a rental property this past
- 9:19summer on Memorial Day weekend. We bought it and I had to talk
- 9:23to Matthew Tobin on a holiday weekend and he hooked me up and
- 9:25I hated doing it. But they take care of you.
- 9:28And I think I've had like 5 or 6 loans with Triad Bank over the
- 9:31course of the last 5-6 years. We have two now.
- 9:33We've done some buying and selling, but always work with
- 9:36Triad Bank. The last 5-6, maybe 7 years.
- 9:39It is Saint Louis lawn care. Look, the snow is going to be
- 9:43melting soon. Get your lawns cut, get your
- 9:46mulch fresh for the spring. They do landscaping.
- 9:51I got some Arbor Vita out there, got a juniper, got a bunch of
- 9:53boxwoods. They trimmed the boxwoods.
- 9:56You got Saint Louis equipment, stlmowerrepair.com.
- 9:59Saint Louis lawn care is stllawncare.com, but if we have
- 10:03more snow, they do salt, bulk salt.
- 10:07They can service your plows. They got plows, they got mowers,
- 10:10they got small engines, blowers, trimmers, all that.
- 10:14stlmowerrepair.com. All right, Didn't want to go
- 10:17super long. Busy weekend I had to admit I
- 10:22shouldn't give myself credit for this, but I datted I datted hard
- 10:25this weekend. We had daddy daughter dance
- 10:28Friday, we had basketball for my son Saturday morning basketball
- 10:33for my daughter Saturday afternoon and then this is again
- 10:38it's my fault. I shouldn't get any credit for
- 10:39this because I put all these projects off, but I had all
- 10:43these things I was supposed to build over the last couple
- 10:45months and I just been putting them off.
- 10:47And so this was the weekend of just building crap.
- 10:52Look, I don't know if my hand, my hand was never bleeding
- 10:54because I had to put on a a glove.
- 10:57But like all the Allen wrenching and the the screwing.
- 11:02I put together this kids table, 4 chairs and a table for my
- 11:07kids. I swear I counted every one of
- 11:10these chairs had 24 screws to screw in for a frickin little
- 11:14kids chair. I think every chair took me
- 11:16honestly like 30 minutes plus the table.
- 11:19It was probably like, it was probably like a three hour
- 11:21project. And then Sunday I put together a
- 11:27coffee table that was not that difficult.
- 11:30And then Sunday afternoon before the Super Bowl, I put together a
- 11:34basketball hoop that we bought for outside.
- 11:37So again, I don't really, I shouldn't get any credit for
- 11:39that because really it's the fact that I put these projects
- 11:42off. I could have built a kids table
- 11:45like around Christmas time, I think the coffee table, I think
- 11:48it was in our storage room for months, months and months and
- 11:50months. So it's on me.
- 11:52But I actually feel good that I accomplished some things this
- 11:55weekend and got a bunch of projects done that I need to get
- 11:59done. You know how that is.
- 12:00Sometimes it piles up, sometimes we procrastinate, or at least I
- 12:04do. All right, there you go, Super
- 12:06Bowl and all that. Love you all.
- 12:08Triad Bank, Saint Louis lawn care Saint Louis equipment
- 12:10corner butcher. Seahawks baby Seahawks, Super
- 12:16Bowl champs. All right.
- 12:18See ya.
