The term “the bride of Christ” is widely misunderstood. Many Christians assume that everyone who is saved automatically belongs to the Bride who will reign with Christ. Yet Scripture presents a far more searching picture. Throughout the Bible, the bride is portrayed as a virtuous woman—set apart, faithful, and wholly devoted to her Bridegroom.
