- 0:08Speaker 1: Advice shog Hello, Hello, Hello, welcome to the Naughty but
- 0:15Speaker 1: Night Show. It's Monday. I'm Rob Shooter. Every Monday. Idea friend.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Garrett Vogel joins us, Garrett, are you there, Rob Shooter?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Get my wife's name out of your mouth. That's the
- 0:29Speaker 1: entire show. I think today we've got a lot of gossip.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Let's see how far we go because there's so much
- 0:35Speaker 1: to squeeze in. What time is it, my friends, it
- 0:37Speaker 1: is Oscar time time. Indeed, so Will Smith slapped Chris
- 0:43Speaker 1: Rock at the Oscars saying, afterwards, leave my wife's name
- 0:49Speaker 1: out of your effinger. Math, let me explain what went
- 0:52Speaker 1: down if you didn't see it last night. So the
- 0:55Speaker 1: Oscars were rolling along as normal. Then Chris Rock came
- 0:59Speaker 1: out and made some jokes, one of which were about
- 1:04Speaker 1: Jada Pinkett Smith and her hair lost. This is where
- 1:07Speaker 1: it gets complicated. She suffers with alopecia. I'm not sure
- 1:12Speaker 1: if Chris is aware of that, but he made a
- 1:14Speaker 1: joke saying she looked like g I Jane Tour. The
- 1:18Speaker 1: joke seemed to land quite well in the audience. At first,
- 1:22Speaker 1: people laughed, it's Chris Rock. It's always a little inappropriate.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Then out of the blue we see Will Smith get
- 1:28Speaker 1: up out of his chair and sitting on the front row.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He walked straight up the aisle, right up onto the
- 1:36Speaker 1: set and slaps Chris Rock around the face. Now, at
- 1:41Speaker 1: first I think people thought this was a sketch, this
- 1:44Speaker 1: was rehearsed, this was a joke. Then Will went to
- 1:47Speaker 1: sit back down and they cut the sound out because
- 1:50Speaker 1: there was a lot of cursing it going on. I
- 1:53Speaker 1: got the footage from Australia, so I know exactly what
- 1:56Speaker 1: they said. How did you make it overseas? But here
- 2:00Speaker 1: the States we get we get snubbed of the highest
- 2:03Speaker 1: point of the Oscars. It's live broadcast around the world
- 2:07Speaker 1: and different countries have different standards on language. So apparently
- 2:11Speaker 1: you can say the F word on Australian TV and
- 2:15Speaker 1: Japanese team we're living in the wrong place. You're in
- 2:18Speaker 1: the wrong place. Although it goes to show you now
- 2:20Speaker 1: it's all one global world, isn't it. So if you
- 2:22Speaker 1: banned something somewhere, you can get it somewhere else. So
- 2:27Speaker 1: I know it's all on the internet, so you can
- 2:28Speaker 1: get it. So what was said is Chris was absolutely
- 2:34Speaker 1: stunned and he said, I just got slapped in the
- 2:36Speaker 1: face by Will Smith, and then Will sat back down
- 2:39Speaker 1: and started screaming, leave my wife's name out of your mouth.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Chris responded saying it was a g I Jane joke.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It was a joke. It was a g I Jane joke.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Will was not having it. His face got the more
- 2:55Speaker 1: angry and he said it again, leave my wife's name
- 2:58Speaker 1: out of your fin math. Chris, who was visibly shocked
- 3:03Speaker 1: by all they said, I will, I will, and then
- 3:06Speaker 1: try to move along with the show. What were your
- 3:10Speaker 1: initial thought, Scarretts initial rethought, initial thoughts were just like
- 3:15Speaker 1: everyone else, it was fake, right, it was. It was
- 3:17Speaker 1: staged Will Smith's big night. He's he's playing a role
- 3:21Speaker 1: of a protective father in a family, and he's doing
- 3:24Speaker 1: the same thing here. But then here's where it got
- 3:28Speaker 1: real for me, where Chris Rock went for the typical like,
- 3:31Speaker 1: oh my god, my backs up against the wall. I
- 3:33Speaker 1: need to come up with excuses. First, It's not a
- 3:36Speaker 1: G I Jane joke. It was a joke about Jada Pinkett. Right,
- 3:39Speaker 1: you're not trying to offend g I Jane. You're trying
- 3:42Speaker 1: to offend Jada looking like g I Jane, right, that's
- 3:45Speaker 1: that's where you're going with So he already started backpedaling
- 3:48Speaker 1: from there. So at that point I knew Chris Rock
- 3:51Speaker 1: was in a real predicament because he was just trying
- 3:54Speaker 1: to defend himself at that point, right right right, he
- 3:57Speaker 1: stumbled too. It's the first time we saw Chris or
- 4:00Speaker 1: a flapper ball normally on stage. He is a rock. Now.
- 4:03Speaker 1: As the show went on, I had spies in the auditorium.
- 4:09Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of cameras there, so it's
- 4:11Speaker 1: actually not the hardest place to have spies. It's pretty public.
- 4:14Speaker 1: And my sources tell me Meredith O'Sullivan, who is Will's publicists,
- 4:19Speaker 1: she came out right away to talk to Will. They
- 4:22Speaker 1: got Chris out of the building. There was a loud,
- 4:25Speaker 1: audible gasp when it happened, and it seemed at first,
- 4:28Speaker 1: like us, everybody in the room thought it was a joke,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and then they realized this is not funny at all.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Puffy followed them Seawan Combs and he said, we're going
- 4:38Speaker 1: to solve this like family, and then quite what that means.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Chris Christmas already out of there, so there was no
- 4:46Speaker 1: solving this. After parties and Chris was not at the
- 4:49Speaker 1: after parties. Also, the reason I know that this was
- 4:52Speaker 1: real is that I had people at the rehearsals the
- 4:56Speaker 1: day before, and when Chris rehearsed, everybody has to rehearse
- 5:00Speaker 1: when Chris rehurst, Will was not there, So if they
- 5:03Speaker 1: were doing a bit together, that two of them would
- 5:05Speaker 1: have would have shown up. Then throughout the night, Will's
- 5:08Speaker 1: publicists kept running out every commercial break, running out also
- 5:12Speaker 1: too during the commercial breaks, her phone was going off
- 5:15Speaker 1: during the show. I'm sure she sat there watching it.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Also during the commercial breaks, which I think is so interesting,
- 5:21Speaker 1: celebrities came over. Nicole Kidsman gave Will a hug. I
- 5:25Speaker 1: think Bradley Cooper did his absolute hero Denzil Washington did
- 5:32Speaker 1: to the people close to Will, sitting by him, close
- 5:35Speaker 1: to him physically and close to him emotionally, they seemed
- 5:40Speaker 1: to support what Will had done. I think at home
- 5:43Speaker 1: the opposite. I think people at home were wondering why
- 5:46Speaker 1: have the police not being called and why has he
- 5:49Speaker 1: not been escorted out of the oscars? There were you well,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you know, it was interesting because I was starting to
- 5:54Speaker 1: think about it. How long has Will Smith had to
- 5:57Speaker 1: sit there and just take Panne after pann in joke
- 6:00Speaker 1: after joke and uncoupling after uncoupling. Question right to his
- 6:04Speaker 1: he just did a few weeks ago against when he
- 6:07Speaker 1: was sitting down with what was it Robin Roberts or
- 6:09Speaker 1: or or someone like that on the world's biggest stage
- 6:14Speaker 1: where you can argue, you know, ratings wise, but argue wise.
- 6:18Speaker 1: A lot of people were watching. He's probably just had enough,
- 6:21Speaker 1: you know what I mean. You could be suppressed so
- 6:23Speaker 1: much of just trying to trying to sit back and
- 6:26Speaker 1: take it and be the nice guy. But eventually you
- 6:29Speaker 1: can't be made fun of straight to your face in
- 6:31Speaker 1: front of that many people and have your your family's name,
- 6:34Speaker 1: you know, thrown around just for a joke. He's had enough.
- 6:38Speaker 1: He's from West Philadelphia, as we know, Like, you don't
- 6:40Speaker 1: mess with people from West Philly in a predicament like that,
- 6:43Speaker 1: especially when you're offending their family. I I think I'm
- 6:46Speaker 1: hearing you, but but I'm still having a hard trouble
- 6:48Speaker 1: with it because for me, it was silly jokes like
- 6:51Speaker 1: Amy Schuman made a joke afterwards, and everyone was worried
- 6:54Speaker 1: for Amy, now we thought. But Amy's joke though, was
- 6:57Speaker 1: more like, so what did I miss, you know, like
- 7:01Speaker 1: greful for her though, But when she opened the show
- 7:04Speaker 1: with Wonder and Regina, they were pretty out there then
- 7:07Speaker 1: I thought they were hilarious. It was like a roast
- 7:09Speaker 1: Amy solo set at the beginning of the show. To
- 7:12Speaker 1: me felt more like the Golden Globes. Are we now
- 7:15Speaker 1: not allowed to have Will at the Golden Globes or anywhere? Now?
- 7:19Speaker 1: I still think it's different. Think about how much how
- 7:21Speaker 1: much Will Smith has had to go through over the
- 7:23Speaker 1: last two ever since that Red Table talk of uncoupling,
- 7:27Speaker 1: of how many times people have just pushed them and
- 7:30Speaker 1: and questioned him and and poked fun at him, and
- 7:33Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, on on probably arguably his
- 7:35Speaker 1: biggest night where he wins an award, you're going to
- 7:39Speaker 1: You're just gonna chop them off at the knees because
- 7:41Speaker 1: at the end of the day, no one's gonna look
- 7:42Speaker 1: at Jada. They're gonna look at Will. They're gonna say, oh,
- 7:45Speaker 1: look look at Will. You know, like Will did bring
- 7:48Speaker 1: all this up himself when you're talking about robbing Roberts.
- 7:51Speaker 1: She was promoting his book. He talks constantly about his
- 7:54Speaker 1: relationship with Jada on the Red table. That's his wife's show. Okay,
- 7:58Speaker 1: So the two of them sat there until about their
- 8:00Speaker 1: relationship for the ratings, and they were allowed to say
- 8:03Speaker 1: things to one another. My point here, though, is, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: I do understand what you're saying, is that we should
- 8:09Speaker 1: be kinder to one another. But you can't have a
- 8:12Speaker 1: show about kindness and respect and loving for each other
- 8:15Speaker 1: and then somebody gets up and slaps somebody in the face.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He physically hit him. But then too, you can't you
- 8:22Speaker 1: can't sit there and make fun of someone's wife and
- 8:25Speaker 1: then say it wasn't a joke about your your wife,
- 8:28Speaker 1: it was about the movie franchise. It doesn't make sense.
- 8:31Speaker 1: He was going after he was making a joke about
- 8:33Speaker 1: his wife, and he just should if not, a true comedian,
- 8:38Speaker 1: like a comedian that was standing like hard in their ways,
- 8:41Speaker 1: would have said, you know what, yes, it was a
- 8:43Speaker 1: joke about your wife. He didn't. He went he went
- 8:45Speaker 1: the other way, meaning that it was true it was
- 8:48Speaker 1: a joke about his wife. You know's a joke about
- 8:50Speaker 1: Jada and her hair. Last not funny and you know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: kind of rude, particularly because we know that she has alopecia.
- 8:57Speaker 1: She's been very honest about that, But there's a place
- 8:59Speaker 1: for physical violence now, like now we're allowed to slap
- 9:02Speaker 1: people around the face if we don't like what they're saying.
- 9:04Speaker 1: For me, in my head exploded. I was so uncomfortable.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I know the crowd is uncomfortable moving forward. Now there's
- 9:10Speaker 1: conversations about what should happen should he lose his oscar.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Now there are very very very strict rules for people
- 9:18Speaker 1: that have the oscar, and not many people do. And
- 9:20Speaker 1: really these sort of popped up or were reinforced after
- 9:22Speaker 1: the Harvey wine scene scandal. So there's rules of conduct here,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and one of them is certainly not physical violence. So
- 9:32Speaker 1: I reached out to the oscar people. They have not
- 9:34Speaker 1: responded yet. The other question is, yeah, I'm trying to
- 9:39Speaker 1: get many. My head exploded. Like the other question that's
- 9:43Speaker 1: coming up is could he be arrested. I reached out
- 9:45Speaker 1: to the l a p D and spoke to them.
- 9:48Speaker 1: They said that they are obviously aware of the incident,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but Chris Rock has not filed a complaint and until
- 9:55Speaker 1: he does, they will not investigate this. But if he does,
- 9:58Speaker 1: they will investigate it. And hey, it's all there on video,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and when you tell the court, you know he made
- 10:03Speaker 1: fun of my wife, so I'm allowed to attack him.
- 10:06Speaker 1: That is not gonna hold up. He physically attacked somebody.
- 10:11Speaker 1: See that's where That's where I'll argue with you, Rob Shooter.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Where in a with a jury sitting there hearing the
- 10:17Speaker 1: story and then obviously hearing the evidence, and I think
- 10:23Speaker 1: nine times out of ten people will side, especially if
- 10:25Speaker 1: they're if they're they have a spouse or a significant other,
- 10:29Speaker 1: They're going to stick up for them. You know. I
- 10:30Speaker 1: think emotionally, you're right here. If somebody made fun of well,
- 10:33Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying. Like, but you've got to follow
- 10:38Speaker 1: the Lord and not allowed in America to punch somebody
- 10:42Speaker 1: in the face. You could call me horrible names, you
- 10:44Speaker 1: could call Darby my doggy, you called cold bruise horrible names.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm not allowed to punch you. And I like that
- 10:50Speaker 1: law well, of course. But I can also argue that
- 10:53Speaker 1: I was provoked to you know, like you provoked me
- 10:56Speaker 1: to to punch you. And I hope that you've got convicted. Garrett,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I really do hear. I hate physical violence. I was younger,
- 11:04Speaker 1: like people slapping each other, and I was sort of
- 11:07Speaker 1: really rough school and it was quite scary, and to
- 11:10Speaker 1: be watching is particularly a place that claims there for
- 11:14Speaker 1: love and harmony and peace, and we've all got to
- 11:17Speaker 1: support each other and everybody has rights, and then for
- 11:21Speaker 1: them to have this happen, and everybody pretended did you
- 11:25Speaker 1: get that part? Everybody pretended that nothing had happened apart
- 11:28Speaker 1: from Amy Schumer, right, everybody just capped on. Did he
- 11:31Speaker 1: try to sort of say something but failed a little
- 11:34Speaker 1: bit there? But not? Let's not blame him. The night
- 11:36Speaker 1: wasn't about him. This is doing you knew, you knew?
- 11:41Speaker 1: You know? Did he? You know very well from working
- 11:43Speaker 1: with him. Do you actually think after the Oscars he
- 11:46Speaker 1: sought out Will ended Chris Rock at a party. If
- 11:51Speaker 1: did he knew he could get a photograph out of it,
- 11:53Speaker 1: which he could have did. He would have loved nothing
- 11:55Speaker 1: more than sitting at the Vanity Fair party with Chris
- 11:58Speaker 1: on one side, Will on the other. He was brokering
- 12:01Speaker 1: peace in the Middle East, Like did he notice the
- 12:03Speaker 1: press opportunity? But knowing did he, I would say he
- 12:05Speaker 1: would be nervous, Like that's a huge audience, millions and
- 12:09Speaker 1: millions of people watching, and I think he would like that.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's a really uncomfortable position. What are you doing? Then
- 12:14Speaker 1: you've got to read the room a little bit, so
- 12:16Speaker 1: you know the room is split. Early reports today are
- 12:19Speaker 1: a lot of celebrities really supported Will and so afterwards
- 12:23Speaker 1: he won. So what do you do then? Do you
- 12:25Speaker 1: give him a standing ovation? Will is part of Hollywood?
- 12:28Speaker 1: He is loved in Hollywood. Do we stand up and
- 12:31Speaker 1: give a man a standing ovation that has just punched somebody,
- 12:35Speaker 1: slapped somebody else? Or do we sit down? Do we
- 12:38Speaker 1: leave it? Though? It's like you just attacked him and
- 12:42Speaker 1: he like Chris Rocky, we say it all the time,
- 12:45Speaker 1: like you could sit there and take it, but it
- 12:47Speaker 1: would like you know where the where the joke was
- 12:49Speaker 1: coming from. It was going directly at someone. And then
- 12:53Speaker 1: to say that, there's this fine line of like, you know,
- 12:56Speaker 1: as a comedian, I'm allowed to say whatever. No, just
- 12:59Speaker 1: like in anything and of life, you you could say whatever,
- 13:01Speaker 1: but you also have to stand up for your actions.
- 13:04Speaker 1: So he he offended the man's wife. You know, I
- 13:06Speaker 1: get it, I understand it. I don't And I like
- 13:09Speaker 1: that that we're on different sides because I think a
- 13:12Speaker 1: lot of people are some people are really standing up
- 13:16Speaker 1: for Will. To day, Tiffany Haddish has put out a
- 13:18Speaker 1: statement saying he was defending his wife. It's the most
- 13:20Speaker 1: beautiful thing she's ever seen. A lot of people that
- 13:24Speaker 1: were very uncomfortable and not really making statements. They're just
- 13:27Speaker 1: sort of disappearing. They don't want to talk about it.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I had reporters at the parties. Afterwards. Will turned up
- 13:33Speaker 1: at Vanity Fair and he was spotted dancing and joking.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Jada was there. Oh, after the incident, they had they
- 13:40Speaker 1: held hands garret for the rest of the night. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: had reporters watched them, so they were holding hands. Will
- 13:46Speaker 1: skipped the press room. So after you win, you normally
- 13:49Speaker 1: exit stage left or stage right, and he go straight
- 13:52Speaker 1: into the press room. Will did not do that. So
- 13:55Speaker 1: after he got his oscar, he then went back into
- 13:58Speaker 1: the audience and sat there holding his oscar in one
- 14:00Speaker 1: hand and Jada's hand in the other. You know, the
- 14:04Speaker 1: red table talk is open for business today. He's gonna
- 14:06Speaker 1: be the It's gonna be the biggest episode ever. They
- 14:10Speaker 1: will talk about this again. His books probably gonna spike.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I'm not saying he did this for either. Celebrities love publicity,
- 14:16Speaker 1: but they can also to be real people. I think
- 14:19Speaker 1: this was a real in the moment reaction, so it
- 14:22Speaker 1: will all be interesting though. So this weekend in Atlantic City,
- 14:25Speaker 1: New Jersey, Chris Rock is taking the stage for so
- 14:29Speaker 1: it's his I guess, his first show, and you know what,
- 14:32Speaker 1: it's a warm up show because he's going out on
- 14:33Speaker 1: tour with Kevin Hart and it'll be interesting to say,
- 14:38Speaker 1: see and hear if he does tackle or does he Definitely,
- 14:43Speaker 1: definitely it's gonna be big for both of them. Now. Actually,
- 14:47Speaker 1: both of them can make a lot of money from this.
- 14:49Speaker 1: There already super super rich, but both of them now
- 14:51Speaker 1: this is part of their celebrity story. If I sat
- 14:55Speaker 1: down with Chris in the next hundred years, I would
- 14:58Speaker 1: ask about this. If I sat down with Will I
- 15:00Speaker 1: would ask about this in a weird way too, And
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm sure his PR team told him this as well.
- 15:05Speaker 1: This now became bigger than him winning the Oscar, which
- 15:07Speaker 1: is a bit sad. We're not talking about the first Oscar.
- 15:10Speaker 1: It wasn't like Oscar was the first asker. We're not
- 15:14Speaker 1: talking about Lady Gaga and Liza Manelli, who I love
- 15:18Speaker 1: coming out at the end. We're talking about Will Smith,
- 15:21Speaker 1: which which brings us to our Pulse question of the day.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Should Will Smith have been arrested and escorted out of
- 15:27Speaker 1: the Oscars after hitting Chris Rock. I know where you are, Garrett,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and I think you know where I am. Yes or no?
- 15:33Speaker 1: He don to a page at Naughty Nice Rob or
- 15:36Speaker 1: a Facebook page Naughty Gossip and be sure to check
- 15:39Speaker 1: back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, we're gonna take
- 15:43Speaker 1: a quick break. We will be right Welcome back to
- 15:50Speaker 1: the Naughty but Nice Show, Garrett. We hardly ever disagree.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I like these shows where we really get into it exactly,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you know, because we don't have to agree. That's the
- 16:01Speaker 1: thing about friendship, like you could be friends but not
- 16:04Speaker 1: have to see the same way all the time. Absolutely,
- 16:07Speaker 1: and neither one of us are going to get violent,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and neither one of us are going to make fun
- 16:11Speaker 1: of each other's spouse. Let me point that out. So
- 16:14Speaker 1: let's get to the polls that the dar Thank you
- 16:16Speaker 1: very much, everybody. Hidi Montag accused Lady Gaga of sabotaging
- 16:20Speaker 1: her music career. We talked about this on our last show.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Do you agree with Heidi? Let's have a look. Percent
- 16:27Speaker 1: said Noah, they do not agree with Hidie. I think
- 16:31Speaker 1: I'm with you two. Don't forget to vote on today's
- 16:33Speaker 1: pollar controversial one today. I can't wait to see your results.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob at
- 16:39Speaker 1: Facebook pages and be sure to check back tomorrow. And
- 16:44Speaker 1: now let's have a special Nicest of the Garrett Darling,
- 16:51Speaker 1: let's do your nicest moment of the Oscars? What was
- 16:54Speaker 1: your favorite moment of the Oscars? From me was because
- 17:00Speaker 1: we've been watching it into my house for you know,
- 17:02Speaker 1: the last uh three months. Was watching the performance of
- 17:06Speaker 1: We Don't Talk About Bruno from Encanto, like the smiles
- 17:11Speaker 1: around my house, like it was that moment where it's
- 17:14Speaker 1: like this, I could understand what they say when a
- 17:17Speaker 1: song or a movie brings people together like it was.
- 17:21Speaker 1: It was that fun, you know, it put a smile
- 17:24Speaker 1: on my face. I love it. I love it. I
- 17:27Speaker 1: love it. Explain to people who don't have children, like
- 17:29Speaker 1: my good self, how big is this movement? It is big?
- 17:33Speaker 1: Like I mean, the joke a few years ago was
- 17:35Speaker 1: like all frozen, this frozen, that frozen, this, it's it's
- 17:38Speaker 1: now incanto, like you know what I mean, It's it's
- 17:41Speaker 1: it's that big, it's it's you know you start swapping
- 17:45Speaker 1: out words instead of Bruno. You start saying each other's name,
- 17:49Speaker 1: like we don't talk about you to know, so you
- 17:54Speaker 1: just start said that it didn't win because I think
- 17:56Speaker 1: Billie Eilish one with her brother for no time to wespond.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Well here's the thing, so no time to die one
- 18:03Speaker 1: because it was nominated. We don't talk about Bruno wasn't nominated.
- 18:06Speaker 1: They Lynn put in a different song that he felt
- 18:10Speaker 1: encompassed the movie the best, which I understand, um, but
- 18:13Speaker 1: I think if if Bruno at the time was submitted.
- 18:16Speaker 1: But again lin Manuel Mirandy even said, you don't know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like you don't know what's
- 18:22Speaker 1: going to just like blow up and what song is
- 18:24Speaker 1: just going to be like you know, right right right,
- 18:27Speaker 1: They picked the wrong song to nominate. Otherwise today Linn
- 18:30Speaker 1: would have had an oscar. He wasn't there last night
- 18:32Speaker 1: because his wife is positive with COVID. And nicest other
- 18:36Speaker 1: day and naughtiest of the day is the fact that
- 18:40Speaker 1: we're not talking about all these incredible winners. Let me
- 18:44Speaker 1: give you some of their names. Ariana Dabooza, who is
- 18:47Speaker 1: the second Latino to with an acting award. Guess who
- 18:51Speaker 1: the first one was Rita Marana in nine for the
- 18:54Speaker 1: same part in West Side Stories. She's also to the
- 18:57Speaker 1: first openly queer woman of color to win an acting award.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And I love when she said there is a place
- 19:03Speaker 1: for us, which is from a song in West Side
- 19:05Speaker 1: Story Jessica Chastain. We're not talking about her for winning
- 19:09Speaker 1: to Troy Catcher, we're not talking about him. Is beautiful speech,
- 19:13Speaker 1: not a dry eye in the hairs. We are talking
- 19:17Speaker 1: about one winner, and one winner only that's Will Smith,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and we're not actually talking about his win. And notice
- 19:25Speaker 1: the day let's end with a murmur of Rob. You
- 19:26Speaker 1: get a rubbie, Rob, you get a rob. Don't think
- 19:29Speaker 1: people that's right, keep your hands in your pockets should
- 19:33Speaker 1: be today's Rob. I don't get it, Garrett, I don't
- 19:36Speaker 1: get it. I've been so angry sometimes that I've wanted
- 19:40Speaker 1: to resort to. I think it's another level. Honestly, I
- 19:42Speaker 1: think I've been so angry, but I don't do it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I don't hit you know you know what I mean.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think it's another level. Rob. Just imagine on the
- 19:50Speaker 1: on the I mean, you are in a very high
- 19:53Speaker 1: profile relationship as it is already, but just it's another
- 19:56Speaker 1: level from that. You know, just where the level of pressure.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But I would have restrained myself. The two of them
- 20:03Speaker 1: might have walked out to the award show, but that's
- 20:04Speaker 1: what I might have done. I wouldn't have got up
- 20:06Speaker 1: on stage and hit somebody. I know myself, Garrett. I
- 20:09Speaker 1: don't hit people. I don't hit people. I think it's
- 20:12Speaker 1: a message to show our kids, our family around the world.
- 20:16Speaker 1: There's so much violence going on at the moment in
- 20:19Speaker 1: the world, and to get up on stage and punch somebody,
- 20:23Speaker 1: even somebody who you might think deserve to be punched,
- 20:26Speaker 1: it's just familiar. It's a moment. It's a step too far. Hey,
- 20:31Speaker 1: that's it for today. Thank you so much for listening
- 20:34Speaker 1: to our Oscars Special Garrett. We needed even more time
- 20:38Speaker 1: Smith Special, World Smith Special. He would have thought, this
- 20:42Speaker 1: is what we would have been talking about today. I'm
- 20:44Speaker 1: on TV and radio all day talking about the Oscars.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I made my notes, we have all my facts, so
- 20:50Speaker 1: you know what you say, I'll give you a little
- 20:51Speaker 1: tip today. So the whole thing is like, you watch
- 20:54Speaker 1: the Oscars, and the next day it's why did I
- 20:56Speaker 1: watch the Oscars? So no one watches And then Finally,
- 20:59Speaker 1: when something happens in the oscars, everything like how come
- 21:02Speaker 1: I didn't watch the ask people complain. They said they
- 21:05Speaker 1: wanted to make it a moment in culture. They certainly have. Hey,
- 21:10Speaker 1: that's it for today. Thank you so much for listening
- 21:11Speaker 1: to the naught even Eyes with Robin Garrett show, our
- 21:13Speaker 1: production of IHUNT Radio. Don't forget to subscribe on the
- 21:16Speaker 1: iHeart Radio app, Apple podcast. Wherever you listen, leave us
- 21:19Speaker 1: a reviewer. Remember, remember Will Smith, I hope you're listening.
- 21:22Speaker 1: If you're going to, you've got to be nice. Take
- 21:26Speaker 1: care of everybody here. It's not even nice with ro
