- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. How's your week going? Luna: It's going well, Lucas. I've been practicing the days of the week, and now I'm ready for something new. Lucas: That's great. Since we nailed the days, let's dive into the months of the year. They're super useful. Luna: Oh, I love that. I always mix up the months in Spanish. Lucas: No worries, we'll take it slow. The first month is enero. Listen again: enero. Luna: Enero. That's January, right? Lucas: Exactly. And then comes febrero. Febrero. Luna: Febrero. That sounds a bit like February. Lucas: Yeah, many months are similar in English. Next is marzo. Marzo. Luna: Marzo. March. Easy. Lucas: And then abril. Abril. Luna: Abril. Hmm, that one's a little trickier. Abril. Lucas: You got it. The next one is mayo. Mayo. Luna: Mayo. That's May. So close to English. Lucas: Right. Then comes junio. Junio. Luna: Junio. June. Okay, I can do this. Lucas: And julio. Julio. Luna: Julio. July. They really are similar. Lucas: For sure. Now we hit agosto. Agosto. Luna: Agosto. That one's a bit different, but I like it. Lucas: Then septiembre. Septiembre. Luna: Septiembre. September. So close. Lucas: After that, octubre. Octubre. Luna: Octubre. October. Nice. Lucas: Next, noviembre. Noviembre. Luna: Noviembre. November. Almost there. Lucas: And the last one is diciembre. Diciembre. Luna: Diciembre. December. That's my favorite month because of the holidays. Lucas: Mine too. Let's put them all together. I'll say them slowly: enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre. Luna: Okay, my turn. Enero, febrero, marzo, abril, mayo, junio, julio, agosto, septiembre, octubre, noviembre, diciembre. Lucas: That was perfect. You really nailed it. Luna: Thanks. But I want to use them in a sentence. How would I say 'my birthday is in June'? Lucas: Great question. You can say 'Mi cumpleaños es en junio.' Let's break it down: mi cumpleaños means my birthday, es is 'is', en means 'in', and junio is June. Luna: Mi cumpleaños es en junio. I like that. So if I wanted to say 'my birthday is in December', it would be 'Mi cumpleaños es en diciembre'. Lucas: Exactly. You're catching on quickly. Luna: This is so helpful. I can already talk about months and birthdays. Lucas: Absolutely. And knowing the months helps you plan trips, talk about seasons, and more. Luna: Speaking of planning, I'm thinking of visiting Spain in October. How do I say 'I am going in October'? Lucas: You'd say 'Voy en octubre.' Voy means I go, en means in, and octubre is October. Luna: Voy en octubre. Perfect. I'm already feeling more confident. Lucas: That's the spirit. The more you practice, the easier it gets. Luna: Hey, before we wrap up, I just want to say that this podcast has been a game-changer for me. It's so easy to follow along. Lucas: I'm glad to hear that.
