- 0:39SPEAKER_08: That's Quarter Horse Racing Talk Weekly.
- 0:41SPEAKER_08: So glad you joined us this week.
- 0:43SPEAKER_08: We got a great episode.
- 0:45SPEAKER_08: As we feel like we're debuting the news about this upcoming project in the Quarter Horse Racing World, as this fractional ownership program of MyRacehorse.com is coming to Quarter Horse Racing.
- 0:58SPEAKER_08: And we were able to get on the phone with the director of partnership strategy and growth.
- 1:03SPEAKER_08: His name is Tyler Peoples.
- 1:05SPEAKER_08: And as you can see, he's the guy as it pertains to explaining this and growing this program as it expands into the quarter horse racing world.
- 1:13SPEAKER_08: And Tyler and I will go in depth about discussing their plan and kind of why they're wanting to look at quarter horse racing and get into that marketplace, as well as the hopes for the future of how the program will possibly change how people view ownership of racehorses moving forward.
- 1:30SPEAKER_08: And also here on the podcast, we got plenty of races to recap as last weekend's AQHA Challenge Championship happened in Albuquerque and I was there for that great night of racing that ended in another finale there in the AQHA Challenge Championship that has produced a potential another starter in the Champion of Champions and KJ Desperado, but we'll get to that, as well as the preview section with Yancey Guiman and myself as we look at the Golden State Million this weekend, as well as multiple big races out there at the Horseshoe at Indianapolis race course.
- 2:06SPEAKER_08: So as you can see, there's lots to get to here on this podcast.
- 2:09SPEAKER_08: So let me get out of the way and get to the commercial so we can get right into our featured guest, Tyler Peoples of MyRacehorse.com.
- 2:17SPEAKER_11: Purina is the choice of champion horsemen who want to feed the horse under their care the best, and its formula has proven to enhance the overall health and performance in the horse, and frankly, it's unmatched.
- 2:28SPEAKER_11: Go to Purinamills.com forward slash horse dash feed and see why their research-based horse feeds and supplements are the right solutions for your horses.
- 2:35SPEAKER_11: As Purina Horse Nutrition makes a difference, you can see.
- 2:39SPEAKER_11: Here's what you need to know about the upcoming stallion showcase at Royal Vista Ranch in Wayne, Oklahoma.
- 2:45SPEAKER_11: The ranch is opening the stallion barn for a full week during the Heritage Place Fall Mix Sale for breeders to stop by any day, from November 2nd through November 7th, to see one of the strongest lineups in the quarter horse industry in person, at their own pace, with the Royal Vista team on hand to walk you through each horse the breeder desires to look at.
- 3:04SPEAKER_11: Also, there will be stallion and ranch promotions running all week at Royal Vista, including special pricing on 2027 breedings booked during the showcase.
- 3:13SPEAKER_11: And important to note, you can go to RoyalVistaranches.com for a full list of promos for Stallion Showcase Week here at Royal Vista Ranch.
- 3:22SPEAKER_10: Alright, back to the show.
- 3:24SPEAKER_08: Alright, we're back, ready to jump in with our featured guest, Tyler Peoples of MyRacehorse.com.
- 3:31SPEAKER_08: And we were very fortunate to be introduced to him by Janet Van Weber at the Heritage Place September Yearling sale.
- 3:38SPEAKER_08: And the notion of this fractional ownership concept coming over into the quarter horse racing world on this level is what I feel certainly a step in the positive direction.
- 3:52SPEAKER_08: As it would be very hard to find how the possibility of bringing new people into the realm of horse ownership, as well as people becoming more fanatical about quarter horse racing as they're owning a piece of the horse that's going down the racetrack, as well as being a nationally recognized brand that potentially has the wherewithal of bringing existing myracehorse.com owners on the thoroughbred side, having them bleed over into owning quarter horses that are in quarter horse racing, becoming more aware of quarter horse racing.
- 4:29SPEAKER_08: It's just very hard to find a knock against this idea and this concept that's on its way and well underway to becoming a reality in the quarter horse racing world.
- 4:41SPEAKER_08: So without further ado, I'm gonna get Tyler on the phone and get him talking about this expansion into quarter horse racing with myracehorse.com.
- 4:53SPEAKER_08: All right, on the phone with Tyler Peoples.
- 4:56SPEAKER_08: He is the director of partner strategy and growth for myracehorse.com.
- 5:00SPEAKER_08: First off, Tyler, thanks for joining us this morning.
- 5:02SPEAKER_08: And we're super excited about what's on tap here for the quarter horse racing world as you introduce the program into our side of the fence here.
- 5:11SPEAKER_06: Good morning, Greg.
- 5:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we are we're thrilled to bring my racehorse over to quarter horse racing.
- 5:16SPEAKER_06: We are we're getting really close to to launching our first horse.
- 5:20SPEAKER_06: I would I would say we're now in the we're the coming soon era of of introduction here.
- 5:25SPEAKER_06: So you're gonna start hearing about us, you know, seeing more about us here over the next um 30 to 60 days, and we'll get a horse rolling and then uh and then we'll be live and more horses to come.
- 5:36SPEAKER_08: Tyler, first step is to tell us why quarter horse racing.
- 5:39SPEAKER_08: You know, we've we've most people that have even a running knowledge of watching some of the major events on the thoroughbred side should be familiar with myracehorse.com.
- 5:50SPEAKER_08: And and as I've done in the intro, there's really not a partnership that's on the same level of of having the amount of success that you guys have had, as well as really infiltrating the the mindset of those that follow racing as becoming almost a household name with myracehorse.com.
- 6:07SPEAKER_08: Why quarter horse racing would be the first question.
- 6:11SPEAKER_06: Great question.
- 6:12SPEAKER_06: Two parts there.
- 6:13SPEAKER_06: One is Janet Van Weber is leading an initiative to bring more owners into the sport of quarter horse racing.
- 6:20SPEAKER_06: So we've been working in cooperation with her.
- 6:22SPEAKER_06: She absolutely wants to bring this to quarter horse racing to help uplift the sport.
- 6:27SPEAKER_06: Um, and we are working with her to do that.
- 6:30SPEAKER_06: And then the other piece of that is from our end, we're looking for growth opportunities.
- 6:34SPEAKER_06: We are, as you mentioned, we're a name brand in Thoroughbred Racing.
- 6:38SPEAKER_06: We have over 100,000 owners on our platform in the United States, UK, and Australia.
- 6:45SPEAKER_06: And we're looking for additional growth opportunities to keep growing our product and bringing more horses to the track.
- 6:50SPEAKER_06: So quarter horse racing is a is a great new um place for us.
- 6:54SPEAKER_08: As it pertains to the success the success of MyRacehorse.com, Tyler, what's the actual chemistry or the actual winning equation that makes it successful on the thoroughbred side?
- 7:06SPEAKER_06: Giving people the opportunity to have access to what was previously unaccessible to them or um giving them an opportunity to be a part of something that they wouldn't have the chance to do on their own.
- 7:17SPEAKER_06: Horse ownership is expensive.
- 7:19SPEAKER_06: We know that.
- 7:20SPEAKER_06: At the highest level of the game, the the really exciting prospects at the sale and the biggest races, those are really high dollar horses, and there's very few people who can afford that on their own.
- 7:31SPEAKER_06: But when you can bring a couple hundred or a couple thousand or even ten thousand people together to fund a horse, fund its um its operating expenses, um, you know, the the cost of the horse, training fees, all of those things, you can bring that together.
- 7:45SPEAKER_06: You can give people access to something that they they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do on their own.
- 7:50SPEAKER_06: And it's a just an unbelievable opportunity to um be a part of something huge, cool, exciting.
- 7:56SPEAKER_06: Um you get to go to the track, you get to cheer on your horse, um, running at the highest level, or you know, we're we buy with that in mind, right?
- 8:02SPEAKER_06: Not everything pans out at the highest level, but those are the those are that's the target where you're where you're aiming.
- 8:08SPEAKER_06: But um, I would say that's the chemistry behind it.
- 8:10SPEAKER_06: It's the opportunity to do something that you wouldn't be able to do otherwise.
- 8:13SPEAKER_08: Tyler, with those that are even runningly familiar with myracehorse.com, the concept is to you guys to go to the yearlings sale, purchase, put it out and offer it to uh on a fractional ownership scenario where you have it on the website and you put a price on what it costs per share.
- 8:34SPEAKER_08: I'm assuming that's a going to be almost the parallel of what it will look like when it when it's time to put one of the first quarter horses up there on the site.
- 8:43SPEAKER_08: That's correct.
- 8:44SPEAKER_06: How you see our buy page now, how horses are presented and offered on our website will be the same with the quarter horses.
- 8:50SPEAKER_06: So you'll when you go to the quarter horse page, you'll have information to the the horse itself, his pedigree page or her pedigree page, um, a feature video, information about the trainer, the circuit that horse is going to be racing on, and then the financials that back that horse, the the total offering, the amount of equity that's being offered, the equity per share of the share price.
- 9:12SPEAKER_06: Um, and then we will break those down on a per share basis of what your percentage of your share is that's related to asset cost, the brokerage fee, the management fee, the organizational fee, and the operating expense reserve, which is our um that's our prepaid reserve model, which allows us to allocate funds for anticipated expenses at the time of the offering.
- 9:33SPEAKER_06: So those are gonna include, you know, training bills, vet bills, feed travel, other expenses that uh accompany horse ownership.
- 9:39SPEAKER_06: We know there's a long list there, right?
- 9:41SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 9:41SPEAKER_06: Um, but we'll pre we'll pre-fund that for I'll call it two years out.
- 9:45SPEAKER_06: That that can vary from horse to horse.
- 9:47SPEAKER_06: It's gonna depend on on kind of what the situation is on how far out we're funding.
- 9:51SPEAKER_06: Um, but that will allow us to um you only ever have a one-time payment required to become an owner with us.
- 9:58SPEAKER_06: You got you have no ongoing capital calls, no ongoing, ongoing fees.
- 10:01SPEAKER_06: One payment, you're a horse owner, your your expenses are covered.
- 10:05SPEAKER_06: Um and that's the that's the model we operate.
- 10:07SPEAKER_08: And that's very attractive, those that have done it both ways.
- 10:11SPEAKER_08: I've actually done it both ways, where we've you know, paid the training fees, the shoeing fees, the vet bills on a monthly basis, as opposed to buying a share in a myracehorse.com horse.
- 10:23SPEAKER_08: It's a upfront one-time payment.
- 10:25SPEAKER_08: And then you're essentially you're going along for the ride with the not only all the other people in the partnership, but one of the other things that myracehorse.com does a great thing of is it really keeps the owner interactive as well, unless you were near the racetrack, uh, where you would actually be able to go out in the morning and watch the horse work out.
- 10:47SPEAKER_08: You guys are bringing that video and all of that to the platform online there on myracehorse.com where those owner groups can actually follow along with the training and the process.
- 10:59SPEAKER_08: Even the braking process is actually covered in the on myracehorse.com.
- 11:04SPEAKER_08: Uh, even a horse that goes into a layoff, you you go visit the horse at the farm and and get pictures and video.
- 11:11SPEAKER_08: The the frequent updating of how the progress of the horse is going along is probably one of the I have to ask Tyler.
- 11:19SPEAKER_08: I'm assuming that's one of the formulas that works with MyRacehorse and keeps folks coming back and wanting to invest in it.
- 11:26SPEAKER_08: Oh, it absolutely is.
- 11:27SPEAKER_06: I I think it's the best feature of our product, right?
- 11:30SPEAKER_06: Not only, I mean, A, we talked about it, you can you can buy into something that uh you may not have an opportunity to otherwise, but you get a true owner experience when you're with us.
- 11:40SPEAKER_06: Um the behind the scenes look.
- 11:42SPEAKER_06: We owe that to you.
- 11:43SPEAKER_06: You're an owner, you're along for the ride with us.
- 11:45SPEAKER_06: Um, we're gonna give you horse updates, we're gonna let you know what the trainer's thinking about how this horse looks heading into a certain race or or in a certain training block, um, right when he's at the farm on RR, when he's when he's uh going through braking and training, maybe down in Florida or in Texas or um in California, kind of depending on where the horse is at.
- 12:03SPEAKER_06: Um morning workout videos.
- 12:05SPEAKER_06: We worked last week, uh horse we have in Indianapolis right now.
- 12:08SPEAKER_06: Um we wanted to get a workout video.
- 12:10SPEAKER_06: We sent a team to go get video at 6 uh 5.30 in the morning on uh on Wednesday last week to make sure we had her workout video finishing up her breeze, and we sent that out to owners uh either yesterday or we're going to this morning, so they get to see that, right?
- 12:23SPEAKER_06: Um no one else is at the at the track at 6 a.m.
- 12:26SPEAKER_06: doing that and sending that out to their owners.
- 12:28SPEAKER_06: Um that that's something that we do for for our ownership group.
- 12:31SPEAKER_06: And uh and you mentioned it, you know, just um you get to go experience the day with a lot of other owners who are in them on this horse with you, and that is incredibly invigorating when you get to the racetrack, and there's 50, 100, 200, 400, 1,000 people there.
- 12:48SPEAKER_06: And we've had all of those numbers happen at the racetrack, and everybody's cheering for that same horse.
- 12:53SPEAKER_06: You guys all kind of there's some camaraderie and knowing, hey, we're all in um on this same horse and we're excited about it.
- 13:00SPEAKER_06: And then we we overwhelm the paddock when we go over there to you know try to let owners in to see that.
- 13:05SPEAKER_06: Um we overwhelm the winner's circle.
- 13:07SPEAKER_06: When we do a winner's circle photo, we usually have to do it on the racetrack because there's so many of us there.
- 13:11SPEAKER_06: There's an energy bus behind my racehorse ownership group when we're at the track on race day.
- 13:16SPEAKER_06: Um it's it's an it's an incredible energy capture and it's a lot of fun to be a part of.
- 13:20SPEAKER_06: Um and that goes back to an initial point.
- 13:22SPEAKER_06: Like, why are we coming into quarter horse racing?
- 13:24SPEAKER_06: You know, Janet wants to capture that for quarter horse racing.
- 13:26SPEAKER_06: She wants to bring that energy in and and let's bring some some owners over to what you guys have as a really exciting sport.
- 13:33SPEAKER_09: And we'll be right back after these words.
- 13:36SPEAKER_11: He's one of the top three second-year sires in the country, and he's Eagles Fly Higher, with his top earner being Eagle on a June bug, the graded stakes winner with earnings of nearly$375,000 on the track.
- 13:50SPEAKER_11: Eagles Fly Higher is a grade one winner and two-time champion.
- 13:54SPEAKER_11: And he stands at the Louisiana Center for Equine Reproduction in Opalousis, Louisiana.
- 14:00SPEAKER_11: All right, back to the podcast.
- 14:02SPEAKER_08: As it pertains to the the actual design of how it works over on the thoroughbred side, where you have some bloodstock agent that's going to the sale picking out one of your prospects and then purchasing the prospect.
- 14:16SPEAKER_08: And then, of course, then you pick a horseman that you're going to align yourself with, and you're going to send that horse over to that that top name trainer is usually the way it works with myracehorse.com.
- 14:28SPEAKER_08: Talk about how that's going to be paralleled on the quota horse side.
- 14:31SPEAKER_06: Well, I'll tell you what, what we're finding out is the processes are a little bit different in the sales kind of arena of all of this.
- 14:38SPEAKER_06: What you just outlined for thoroughbred racing is how we operate with the thoroughbreds.
- 14:42SPEAKER_06: We have our bloodstock team.
- 14:43SPEAKER_06: Joe Moran's our head of bloodstock, and his team operates with him on East Coast, West Coast, and Central for the different sales that are going on for the thoroughbreds.
- 14:50SPEAKER_06: They hit the sales, they're looking at a lot of horses.
- 14:52SPEAKER_06: Um they're down at Fasty Tipton right now in Kentucky looking at horses.
- 14:55SPEAKER_06: So uh I know they're they're occupied most weeks, right?
- 14:58SPEAKER_06: There's always something new going on, an opportunity to look at some horses.
- 15:01SPEAKER_06: They will come up with their short list and pick horses that way.
- 15:04SPEAKER_06: Some of the trainers that we work with, we may, they may, you know, kind of share notes, share a short list, we come up with horses that way.
- 15:11SPEAKER_06: But but that's our selection process there on thoroughbreds.
- 15:14SPEAKER_06: What I'm finding, what we're finding out with quarter horses is it's a little bit more trainer-centric as far as um picking out the horses, training and prepping the horses for the racetrack, and then you know, actually training them through their career.
- 15:26SPEAKER_06: Thoroughbreds, we pick the horses at the sale, we send them to a training and braking facility, and then they go to the trainer sometime in the spring or the summer, you know, their two-year-old year.
- 15:36SPEAKER_06: Where quarter horse, it feels like it's it's a little more frequent that the trainer takes the horse, sends that horse to his or her stable, um, preps that horse, and then and then gets them uh to their string at the racetrack in the spring.
- 15:48SPEAKER_06: So that's something that's different for us.
- 15:50SPEAKER_06: In the case uh at the low sal sale a couple weeks ago.
- 15:52SPEAKER_06: So we've been participants here.
- 15:54SPEAKER_06: Um we've been at the sales, we've been at Heritage, we've been at Lo Sal, um was at the at the uh racing challenge over the weekend, you know, kind of making contacts, talking to people in the sport, learning more, absorbing, um, taking it all in, and then, you know, obviously studying blood stock as well.
- 16:11SPEAKER_06: And we worked with Paul Jones um and shared, you know, our short list with his short list.
- 16:17SPEAKER_06: He had a couple horses that he liked out of the Burns consignment.
- 16:19SPEAKER_06: It was important with us that we were going to partner with Burns on this first horse.
- 16:23SPEAKER_06: We had talked about that um heading into the sale.
- 16:25SPEAKER_06: So we picked a horse that Paul liked, and and that horse is at his uh his training facility now and prepping under his under his uh vision.
- 16:33SPEAKER_08: So the horse that is in the sales results, as Dr.
- 16:37SPEAKER_08: Burns and MyRacehorse.com is a partnership that is purchased, that is the anticipated or the the desired horse that will possibly be the first offering?
- 16:47SPEAKER_06: Yes, we are positioning her to be our first offering, should all go well as we get her through the the regulatory requirements that we need to meet before uh we we make her available for offer on our website.
- 16:58SPEAKER_08: As well as Paul Jones being the uh the selected horseman to guide this horse's career.
- 17:03SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 17:03SPEAKER_06: For this horse, Paul helps select this horse and the horse is at his training facility.
- 17:08SPEAKER_06: He's gonna be the trainer of record on this horse.
- 17:10SPEAKER_06: But I I I mentioned this at the racing conference over the weekend.
- 17:13SPEAKER_06: The way we operate in the thoroughbred model, we have 125 horses right now.
- 17:17SPEAKER_06: We work with 25 different trainers.
- 17:20SPEAKER_06: You know, the math on that breaks down to five a trainer, and it's not exactly that perfect, right?
- 17:24SPEAKER_06: There's some with more, there's some with just one.
- 17:26SPEAKER_06: But we operate with a lot of different trainers.
- 17:29SPEAKER_06: We operate with different um other ownership groups and owners that want to partner on horses with us.
- 17:34SPEAKER_06: The more partners that we have, the more, the more reach and the more scope we can have with this thing, the more horses we can bring to the table.
- 17:40SPEAKER_06: And and I want the quarter horse world to consider that as my racehorse comes to quarter horse racing.
- 17:45SPEAKER_06: Um, an opportunity to partner with us, trainers, owners, um, breeders.
- 17:50SPEAKER_06: Let's bring more horses and make them available through this opportunity.
- 17:52SPEAKER_06: Paul Jones is training this first horse, but um we we'd like to have horses in Texas and Oklahoma and Iowa and Louisiana and New Mexico and uh wherever there's a quarter horse racing jurisdiction that it makes sense to send a horse.
- 18:05SPEAKER_06: We want to be there the same way with our our thoroughbred offering has horses in in California, Kentucky, New York, Florida, um, Indiana, I'll be in Indiana over the weekend.
- 18:13SPEAKER_06: Um we're we're just kind of all over the place.
- 18:15SPEAKER_06: And and we we've found that our owners have different preferences.
- 18:18SPEAKER_06: There's some owners who really get behind Bob Baffert or really prefer Todd Pletcher or prefer Sappy Joseph Jr.
- 18:24SPEAKER_06: down in Florida.
- 18:25SPEAKER_06: Some prefer Phillies over Colts, some prefer turf over dirt, and uh sprinters over over classic distance types of horses.
- 18:32SPEAKER_06: So with the thoroughbreds, we make all of those, um, all of those available to as different options for for our audience.
- 18:39SPEAKER_06: It's a little tighter, right?
- 18:40SPEAKER_06: There's no uh there's no turf route races in in uh quarter horse racing, obviously.
- 18:44SPEAKER_06: So that's gonna be a change for us.
- 18:46SPEAKER_06: You know, it's it's a little bit more um straightforward on on the horses we're looking at and we're picking, but I would say that we're we're gonna make um selections, you know, to fit the criteria of what our owners are looking for and to compete at the highest level.
- 18:57SPEAKER_08: The other striking difference between the the thoroughbred world is that you're not overly focused on the two-year-old races, even though you guys offer them as yearlings and then they do run as two-year-olds and and hopefully continue on in the career into the three or the four.
- 19:12SPEAKER_08: But as it pertains to the quarter warts, we're so very focused on the two-year-old campaign, as well as trying to get a horse into a futurity, which comes futurity payments and all the other things that come into play with that, Tyler.
- 19:25SPEAKER_08: How is that going to be different than as it pertains to theoretically, if you're spending the same$160 or so for a share, I'm just throwing a number out there, as it pertains to going there on the thoroughbred side versus throwing the same type of money over and trying to buy a share on a quarter horse side?
- 19:43SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_06: So I think what I'll start with is we're gonna do what's best for the horse.
- 19:47SPEAKER_06: We've always operated that way with our thoroughbreds, and we'll operate that way with our with our quarter horses under the quarter horse model as well.
- 19:53SPEAKER_06: But the quarter horse model is set up, as you mentioned, to really be strong on their two-year-old year.
- 19:59SPEAKER_06: That's the target.
- 20:00SPEAKER_06: Um, that's when some lucrative races happen.
- 20:02SPEAKER_06: That's when the highest level races are happening, and we want to be a part of those.
- 20:05SPEAKER_06: So we're absolutely going to um focus on the two-year-old campaign with our horses.
- 20:10SPEAKER_06: Thoroughbreds, it varies.
- 20:11SPEAKER_06: You know, we have some horses that are ready to go, you know, early in the summer and and um and debut, and we hope that we're on the Derby trail or on the Oaks Trail.
- 20:18SPEAKER_06: There's others that debut later on and and um we try to find some summer races in a summer campaign, or or maybe they need to go on the shelf and they're gonna come back for a four-year-old or five-year-old campaign.
- 20:29SPEAKER_06: Um, Caldera is a great example of a horse who's on the shelf for a little bit.
- 20:32SPEAKER_06: He's come back and had a stellar four-year-old year with us this year.
- 20:35SPEAKER_06: Um, and then just kind of, you know, picking the spots that that make sense.
- 20:38SPEAKER_06: So and then we kind of talked about that.
- 20:40SPEAKER_06: But um, you know, thoroughbreds, there's a lot of different, there's a lot of different avenues to go.
- 20:44SPEAKER_06: It's it's a little more straightforward in quarter horse racing.
- 20:47SPEAKER_06: It's it's the futurities of two-year-old year, and then and then what uh exists uh beyond that for the horses you stay racing.
- 20:54SPEAKER_08: For those that don't know how the partnership works with myracehorse.com, Tyler, what would stop others from purchasing one horse and going and trying to splitting this horse into 150 shares or something themselves and actually offering that out and trying to do this fractional ownership concept theirself?
- 21:15SPEAKER_08: I I'm really want you to explain how the SEC gets involved and and how this is kind of you know, you know, it's more of a stock market-like type thing.
- 21:24SPEAKER_08: So that's kind of my preempt on this question.
- 21:27SPEAKER_06: Yeah, so our offerings are handled, uh, prepared for, overseen by the SEC and FENROP.
- 21:33SPEAKER_06: So we have to meet um regulatory guidelines on all of these.
- 21:37SPEAKER_06: It's it's it's got to be a very official process that's completed to get to an offering being made available.
- 21:43SPEAKER_06: These are private offerings.
- 21:46SPEAKER_06: So you know, these aren't stock market securities, they're private offering securities, which we'll we provide the financial details behind.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: I kind of mentioned that earlier that we'll come up with what our asset cost is, we figure in the brokerage fee, what our Management fee, organizational fee, and then operating expense fund is going to be the equity that we want to offer per share, what that's going to break down on a share price basis, and we present that to the SEC for approval or not approval.
- 22:11SPEAKER_06: And they may or may not come back with some questions on that and uh eventually determine that we're satisfied their requirements and um are able to offer a horse.
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: So that's kind of the background on that.
- 22:22SPEAKER_06: And then you know, we have a technology um platform with the broker dealer.
- 22:26SPEAKER_06: So uh the brokers handle the actual transaction piece.
- 22:30SPEAKER_06: You'll go to the My Racehorse website, you click on the buy page, that page will take you to the processing on that horse.
- 22:37SPEAKER_06: It really looks like it's all on the my racehorse page, um, but we we have a contract with a broker, they handle the transaction, they facilitate that, and then you become an owner and you are you are your horse shows up on the website, shows up on the app, and you're stable and you are a racehorse owner after that.
- 22:55SPEAKER_06: We can have you know as few as a couple hundred um owners in on a horse, we can have as many as I think our our our highest offered horse right now is 10,000 shares available in him.
- 23:06SPEAKER_06: So it's kind of a range in between those.
- 23:09SPEAKER_06: Um and then the technology and then um all of the legal requirements that have to be met, the compliance requirements that have to be met, we're set up as a security.
- 23:17SPEAKER_06: Whereas working with um in a traditional partnership, you're it's it's more simplistic, right?
- 23:24SPEAKER_06: If you have five or ten or or twenty owners on a horse, everyone just splits the horse by a uh a 5%, 10%, 20% fraction, um, and then it just kind of share in the costs, have ongoing management fees or ongoing expenses that they're taking care of to handle that horse.
- 23:40SPEAKER_06: Um and then there's different, you know, there will be different tax requirements within that I would call that traditional horse ownership versus our model where you've you've purchased the horse as a security.
- 23:51SPEAKER_09: And we'll be right back after these words.
- 23:55SPEAKER_11: Stand by for an announcement in three, two, one, go.
- 24:01SPEAKER_11: The two-time AQHA racing champion and grade one stakes-winning sire Uncle D will return to Oklahoma for the 2027 breeding season while standing at Kavanaugh Quarterhorses near Wayne, Oklahoma.
- 24:12SPEAKER_11: And not only that, but Uncle D has also been named as one of the stallion in the Fuego Stallion program.
- 24:17SPEAKER_11: He was the winner of the Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity, was named both the AQHA Racing Champion two-year-old and champion two-year-old Colt, and retired with earnings of over$689,000 before siring a grade one winner already in his stud career.
- 24:31SPEAKER_11: So that's the big news.
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: As top third-year sire Uncle D will return to Oklahoma for the 2027 breeding season at Cavanaugh Quarter Horses in Wayne, Oklahoma.
- 24:40SPEAKER_11: Make your plans now to book your mayors for the upcoming breeding season.
- 24:44SPEAKER_08: Now that you've seen the power of having a horse in the AQHA Racing Challenge, it's time for you to nominate your future runner into the program and put your runner inside the winner circle in one of these championship level races in the challenge program.
- 25:00SPEAKER_08: You can find all that information at AQHA.com forward slash racing.
- 25:05SPEAKER_10: All right, back to the show.
- 25:07SPEAKER_08: And one of the other unique things about myracehorse.com is in giving that scenario, Tyler, is that where you have 10 different people that are sharing the same horse and splitting it 10 different ways, their expenses and all that, all 10 of those people have to have licenses.
- 25:23SPEAKER_08: So if you take the horse from California and run him over in Riadoso, all 10 of those folks have to be licensed.
- 25:30SPEAKER_08: Uh the partnership has to be licensed.
- 25:32SPEAKER_08: Some racing jurisdictions require the stable names to have licensing and all.
- 25:37SPEAKER_08: MyRacehorse.com is absolutely different and as it pertains to that aspect.
- 25:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah, it it definitely is.
- 25:43SPEAKER_06: You hit it.
- 25:44SPEAKER_06: Um, under the traditional partnership model, anybody that's involved with the horse has to be licensed.
- 25:50SPEAKER_06: If you're you're one of four owners, one of 10 owners, one of 20 owners, you've got to have your license for that horse to participate.
- 25:56SPEAKER_06: Under our model, um, you own a piece of the the entity that we set up, um, of the of the racehorse that we're offering, our our offering.
- 26:05SPEAKER_06: So you own a piece of that.
- 26:07SPEAKER_06: My racehorse, the company, is the manager of that offering, is the manager of that horse.
- 26:12SPEAKER_06: We are licensed.
- 26:13SPEAKER_06: Those decisions that um that we facilitate, you know, on the owner basis, um, are all taken care of and captured through our license.
- 26:20SPEAKER_06: Um so our owners who own a share or a couple shares or however many shares you're gonna own of a horse, um, you do not have to be licensed.
- 26:27SPEAKER_06: Um you just you purchase your share and you are you're set with us.
- 26:31SPEAKER_06: I believe and and this may vary in different um different horse offerings, but typically the the amount that you're capped at the number of shares that you're capped at buying in one of our offerings is two and a half percent.
- 26:44SPEAKER_06: And that is because beyond two and a half percent, you would have to get license.
- 26:48SPEAKER_06: So we do cap it at um two and a half percent is what it would be is the most shares that would be available to one person of a horse.
- 26:55SPEAKER_08: That's good to know because as it pertains to uh an offering that you put out there, if if somebody that really likes his horse and just starts clicking the button to buy more shares, buy more shares, buy more shares, there there will be a cap.
- 27:10SPEAKER_06: Eventually they do hit the cap.
- 27:12SPEAKER_06: And I would say if you're looking to partner with my racehorse and want to own more than two and a half percent of a of a horse, let's talk about a more traditional partnership where, you know, hey, maybe on our 60, well, it's let's call it a 60-40 partnership.
- 27:24SPEAKER_06: Maybe you want to own 40% of the horse with us and under a traditional partnership, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_06: And then um that 60% that my racehorse owns, we're gonna set that up.
- 27:32SPEAKER_06: And that's that's the piece that we are going to offer to the um to our ownership audience.
- 27:37SPEAKER_08: And that's one of the things that I've seen is myracehorse.com.
- 27:40SPEAKER_08: If you look on the webpage or if you've been paying attention, one of the highest level of horses that you guys have offered, of course, is I believe kind of fits that model of the Kentucky Derby winner, authentic.
- 27:52SPEAKER_08: And so the scenario is he was doing very well in his three-year-old campaign, and myracehorse.com came in and actually partnered up with the owner.
- 28:02SPEAKER_08: And then then the offering for that horse was sent out to myracehorse.com subscribers, and you were able to purchase into that horse.
- 28:12SPEAKER_08: And then, of course, the horse goes on and wins not only the Kentucky Derby, but also wins the Breeders' Cup Classic that year.
- 28:18SPEAKER_08: Is that a possible model moving forward of once we have a promising two-year-old out there that myracehorse.com could theoretically partner up with that owner, do the 60-40 model as you're as you're explaining, and then offer that 60%, or is it 40% for y'all?
- 28:36SPEAKER_06: It varies.
- 28:37SPEAKER_06: So, what I'm proposing is we're getting started is a 60-40 where we are we have 60% of the horse.
- 28:42SPEAKER_06: We we're where possible, we like to have the controlling interest of the horse, and that helps us with what we can we can produce and share with our our ownership audience um and kind of navigate that journey.
- 28:52SPEAKER_06: But you you you mentioned you know authentic.
- 28:55SPEAKER_06: Authentic, we owned 12% of that horse.
- 28:57SPEAKER_06: So Spindthrift was the majority shareholder of Authentic.
- 29:01SPEAKER_06: Um B.
- 29:02SPEAKER_06: Wayne Hughes was the owner of Spendthrift Farm.
- 29:04SPEAKER_06: He really believed in the vision of My Racehorse, really believed in what Michael Barron's, our founder and CEO, was bringing to the table with My Racehorse.
- 29:12SPEAKER_06: And he wanted to uh give us the opportunity um to work with him and and bring an audience in on a really great horse in Authentic.
- 29:20SPEAKER_06: So he we we purchased 12% of authentic, made him available to, I think it was around 5,000 shares, so um however many owners purchase shares within that.
- 29:30SPEAKER_06: And it was it was between 3,000 and 5,000 owners there that got to you know participate in the Kentucky Derby, won the Kentucky Derby, won the Breeders' Club Classic with that horse.
- 29:41SPEAKER_06: And that was the model for him.
- 29:42SPEAKER_06: We've got other horses that we own 50% of or 51% of.
- 29:46SPEAKER_06: Um Bacho, the horse that's gonna run in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint next weekend at Keeneland, and he should be one of the favorites in there.
- 29:53SPEAKER_06: Um actually, he's had a really great summer.
- 29:54SPEAKER_06: He's won across across the pond over in the UK this summer for Wesley Ward.
- 29:59SPEAKER_06: And uh he's he's got some great figures coming into the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.
- 30:03SPEAKER_06: We're a 50% partner on that horse.
- 30:06SPEAKER_06: Sees the Gray, our 2024 Preakness Stakes winner.
- 30:10SPEAKER_06: And I believe he also won the Pennsylvania Derby for us later in the year, and then with stakes place and some other great races.
- 30:16SPEAKER_06: We owned 100% of that horse.
- 30:18SPEAKER_06: So you kind of see where I'm going with that.
- 30:20SPEAKER_06: We do different percentages of different horses.
- 30:23SPEAKER_06: Um we can still make that work and kind of the total offering and how we're gonna offer it and how many shares we're gonna offer that to different people to bring them in on some really exciting prospects.
- 30:32SPEAKER_06: So while we're starting with yearlings here this year, we absolutely do have our eyes on.
- 30:37SPEAKER_06: Hopefully, we have the opportunity to partner with um some exciting two-year-old prospects early in the season, give people a really exciting reason to come to the racetrack, cheer on that horse, be a part of the trials days, be a part of the big futurities, um, and really accelerate the momentum for this.
- 30:52SPEAKER_06: So absolutely that's what we're hoping for.
- 30:54SPEAKER_06: And if there's any listeners who are going to be feeling really excited about some prospects, let's talk and have a conversation.
- 30:59SPEAKER_06: I mean, this really is an opportunity to bring in thousands of new people, thousands of new owners to this sport.
- 31:06SPEAKER_06: And the other piece that I'll kind of lead into on that, on why that's important, is we're a little bit of a gateway into broader ownership.
- 31:15SPEAKER_06: Um, I'll use myself as an example.
- 31:18SPEAKER_06: I I've been a customer and user of my racehorse before I ever joined the company and started working for my racehorse.
- 31:25SPEAKER_06: I love the product, I love the model, I love the opportunity to buy in on an exciting prospect.
- 31:30SPEAKER_06: My first horse was Laneway back in 2019.
- 31:33SPEAKER_06: There was an opportunity that for a hundred bucks I could buy in on this into mischief cult that was going to be running in California.
- 31:40SPEAKER_06: He he was a couple hundred thousand at the sale, just a beautiful prospect.
- 31:44SPEAKER_06: I thought, oh my gosh, I gotta be in on that.
- 31:46SPEAKER_06: Um, and it gave me the opportunity to do so.
- 31:49SPEAKER_06: And got really comfortable with with what the model was on how to navigate ownership with that horse, made some connections that um that you maybe need for the ownership side of things.
- 32:01SPEAKER_06: And then I was comfortable to buy into a more traditional share, have a little bit more equity in a horse offering a couple years later that we campaigned um under, we I believe we called ourselves Chaux Parley Racing.
- 32:12SPEAKER_06: Um, and we had all boats well.
- 32:14SPEAKER_06: He was a Bodhi Meister cult that ran it um at Keeneland and won his debut race.
- 32:19SPEAKER_06: So we had a really cool experience that way, but it led into broader ownership.
- 32:23SPEAKER_06: Um and we we are finding that there's a fair number of owners who are intimidated by the ownership process, right?
- 32:30SPEAKER_06: Going into racing and trying to go to the sale and to the races and navigating a trainer and navigating the condition book, and all of those things are kind of daunting if you've never done it before.
- 32:39SPEAKER_06: Um, but I think we have more fans out there that are interested in that.
- 32:42SPEAKER_06: They just kind of don't know where to start.
- 32:43SPEAKER_06: We're a great place to start for that.
- 32:45SPEAKER_06: They join our platform, they get that experience, they get some confidence to move on to the next level, and they're participating in in larger partnerships or even on their own.
- 32:52SPEAKER_06: And we we that truly, truly facilitates more owners in the future.
- 32:58SPEAKER_08: I I've seen that happen, especially on the thoroughbred side, as it pertains to those people that had traditionally owned horses and then and and tried their hand at this fractional ownership scenario, and then it just spreads like wildfire.
- 33:12SPEAKER_08: The next time I talk to the person, they have like 20 different shares of horses and they're following and they're excited and they're having just as much fun as if they're paying 100% of the bills.
- 33:21SPEAKER_08: But the other thing that I was going to get it to, Tyler, is what kind of bleedover are you guys expecting or or anticipating where when you're offering these quarter horses out there to a traditional thoroughbred marketplace, how much bleedover do you kind of foresee or at least hope for that some of these thoroughbred guys are actually going to buy shares into these quarter horses that are being offered?
- 33:46SPEAKER_06: You said something a second ago I want to I want to go back to because you're absolutely right.
- 33:50SPEAKER_06: You can when you go to the racetrack on race day and a My Racehorse is running, you cannot tell the difference between a 40% owner of the horse, you know, if we have a partner, and a one-share owner of the horse.
- 34:00SPEAKER_06: Everyone is equally enthusiastic and thrilled about it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_06: Um, and uh, and that's gonna hold up in quarter horse racing as well.
- 34:06SPEAKER_06: It's just it it kind of doesn't matter what your equity is in the horse.
- 34:09SPEAKER_06: You own that horse, you have a stake in the game.
- 34:12SPEAKER_06: Race day is a blast when that's the case.
- 34:15SPEAKER_06: Um, as far as thoroughbred owners bleeding into quarter horse um ownership, we're absolutely going to present this to our thoroughbred owners and and work on making a push that they participate in quarter horse racing as well.
- 34:29SPEAKER_06: And and listen, not everybody will, right?
- 34:31SPEAKER_06: Um but we're we're going to push for some some bleed through over to quarter horse racing.
- 34:37SPEAKER_06: I think we're in areas where we have both quarter horses and thoroughbreds that participate, so Texas and then California and in Oklahoma.
- 34:45SPEAKER_06: I think we'll see a larger number of participants crossing over in those types of areas versus areas where maybe it's exclusively Kentucky.
- 34:53SPEAKER_06: But we're gonna present this as a really exciting opportunity, which it is.
- 34:57SPEAKER_06: Um watching horses just blast down the track for 20 seconds is a whole new angle, um, different than uh than a horse you know running a mile in a uh a minute and 36 seconds, right?
- 35:08SPEAKER_06: It's a it's a different kind of thrill, it's a different kind of exhilaration that they experience.
- 35:11SPEAKER_06: We're gonna show that to them.
- 35:13SPEAKER_06: We're gonna have content prepared to kind of teach and show what quarter horse racing is about and bring some over to uh to quarter horse racing.
- 35:20SPEAKER_06: So that is that is absolutely one of our goals.
- 35:23SPEAKER_08: Well, as you mentioned, Tyler, you guys have purchased an interest in a horse at Los Alamitas at the Low Style sale with Paul Jones being broken.
- 35:31SPEAKER_08: If everything goes exactly as it as traditionally with the MyRacehorse.com offerings on the thoroughbred side after y'all have purchased a horse on the Gearling sales in the summer there, what would be the time frame or the expected time frame if everything went as planned for people to be offered or allowed to be offered this uh this prospect that you guys have on the quarter horse side?
- 35:56SPEAKER_06: It's a fair question.
- 35:57SPEAKER_06: It's a great question.
- 35:59SPEAKER_06: I can't give you an exact date that this horse is going to be made available.
- 36:03SPEAKER_06: This horse is going through the offering approval process, and we have to respect the timeline that the SEC has to approve that.
- 36:10SPEAKER_06: So I can't give us a specific date yet.
- 36:13SPEAKER_06: That said, um, kind of if all goes well under timelines that we're typically used to with our other offerings, in Q4 of this year, we'll have a horse that we ideally will be able to make available for the quarter horse audience to to participate in.
- 36:30SPEAKER_06: And then kind of looking ahead, um, we we touched on it a few minutes ago where we're talking about you know buying into prospects in the spring.
- 36:37SPEAKER_06: I think that's when that's when we'll be active at the races and it's um you know, trying to have some conversations at the schooling races, to have an opportunity to to uh to buy in on some additional horses so that we have additional offerings that we can make available in the spring.
- 36:52SPEAKER_06: And is assuming all of these go well, which I believe they're going to, uh we will increase our participation at the sales starting next summer and really start building a stable looking ahead into the future.
- 37:03SPEAKER_08: All right, Tyler, thanks so very much.
- 37:05SPEAKER_08: We look forward to a follow-up as it pertains to when you guys are ready to launch to talk about the prospect and and kind of walk through the process of actually purchasing a share on the MyRacehorse.com platform once it's available.
- 37:20SPEAKER_08: And but we absolutely appreciate you coming on here and at least introducing the concept and kind of giving a forecast of what's coming for the quarter horse world.
- 37:29SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I so appreciate that opportunity to talk about My Racehorse and kind of what we're gonna bring to the table.
- 37:35SPEAKER_06: And I absolutely would love to have a follow-up conversation here coming soon.
- 37:40SPEAKER_06: Um, that we can talk about the actual horse that ends up being offered, the specifics you know around that offering, um, and then how to get on the website, how to go through the process.
- 37:50SPEAKER_06: It's a very easy process.
- 37:51SPEAKER_06: Um, and then you know, your live and then what your your expectations can be moving forward.
- 37:56SPEAKER_06: So I think that's uh that's something that we can talk about here, hopefully in the next you know, few weeks to a couple of months, um, and and have another conversation about that.
- 38:03SPEAKER_06: In the meantime, for listeners um who enjoyed this today and are thinking about um participating with my racehorse, go to debut.myracehorse.com slash US slash quarter horse.
- 38:17SPEAKER_06: That's our landing page on our my on our My Racehorse website right now.
- 38:21SPEAKER_06: See you're gonna get a visual of Wonderful, the Philly that we are um going through the process uh of of offering right now, um, or building our offering for, I should say.
- 38:31SPEAKER_06: So you get to see a picture of her, read a little bit about her, um, kind of see a commercial that talks about my racehorse and and what we're doing and what we're bringing to the table.
- 38:39SPEAKER_06: And then you're gonna have a call to action there to join the launch or stay informed.
- 38:43SPEAKER_06: Click those red links, put your email in there.
- 38:46SPEAKER_06: We're gonna accumulate those and keep you informed about when the offering is made available.
- 38:50SPEAKER_06: Next steps after that, you may get early an opportunity to indicate early interest and be one of the first to hear about her when she does go live and some of those things.
- 38:59SPEAKER_06: So go to the website, check that out, let us uh let us you know put your insert your email there so that we can um have information to share with you going forward.
- 39:07SPEAKER_06: Tyler, again, appreciate you getting on here and uh we look forward to it.
- 39:11SPEAKER_06: Thanks, Greg.
- 39:12SPEAKER_08: Appreciate it.
- 39:13SPEAKER_09: And we'll be right back after these words.
- 39:16SPEAKER_08: What do horses like?
- 39:18SPEAKER_08: Cyber Attack, a millionaire grade one winner of$1.72 million, Flash and Roll, an earner of$1.71 million, and a grade one winner, Cyber Monday, a grade one winner, earner of over half million dollars, grade one all-American Derby winner Rusty's Miracle, and the grade one winning Hot Simpting have in common?
- 39:38SPEAKER_08: They're all Riadosa Select Yearling graduates.
- 39:41SPEAKER_08: So buy your next champion, buy your next millionaire at next year's Riadosa Select Yearling sale.
- 39:48SPEAKER_10: All right, back to the show.
- 39:50SPEAKER_08: All right, we're back here, ready to jump right into the preview section.
- 39:54SPEAKER_08: Multiple really top races out in Indianapolis, but we're definitely gonna go out to the West Coast because the Golden State Million is the highlight of the weekend racing action in quarter horse racing for sure.
- 40:07SPEAKER_08: The grade one$1.1 million event that's going to be held on Sunday out there at Los Alamitos.
- 40:15SPEAKER_08: Yes, it we definitely have to talk about the fastest qualifier, Lightning Vacero.
- 40:19SPEAKER_08: But as we were looking at the past performances on this horse, he really hasn't done a tremendous amount to this point and and steps up and really she runs a really huge race to get into the field, but not only to get in the field, but as the fastest qualifier.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: Lightning Vacara is gonna crush him here.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: He went going away over Celtic Cowboy and high resolve.
- 40:44SPEAKER_03: This will be one of three going into the race out of the many, Rodriguez Barn.
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: And remember, I watched all the trials that night, and I mean, horse was a long shot on the rail, but he ran a really, really good race, and if he runs his trial race back, he'll definitely be a horse to beat.
- 41:01SPEAKER_03: It's just all of a matter if this is the lightning vicero we're gonna get or if times in Albuquerque were less than stellar.
- 41:08SPEAKER_08: Uh uh, just to clarify, I believe he has four in the field.
- 41:12SPEAKER_08: He has the first, the fastest qualifier, the third fastest qualifier, then the ninth and the tenth qualifier going into this final.
- 41:19SPEAKER_08: So he has a four-horse entry going to he's gonna have a busy night there putting the saddle on there at Los Almidas.
- 41:26SPEAKER_03: Yes, and he has had a lot of success in the past with the horses that he has shipped to Losal at the end of the year.
- 41:33SPEAKER_03: I think one of the ones that that horse is definitely gonna have to outrun, though, is Faultless.
- 41:38SPEAKER_03: This horse is by Golden Boy, who is really having a tremendous year.
- 41:43SPEAKER_03: He's the number one first crop sire in the nation by a landslide, and this horse has been super impressive all year.
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: He uh started out his campaign with a trial win for the Edberg Million Fraternity, and then he came back and run second in the finals there.
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: And then two starts back, he was third in the Pacific Coast fraternity.
- 42:06SPEAKER_03: And then he comes in ran a really good trial race here.
- 42:09SPEAKER_03: And um Scott Willoughby's horses have started to really heat up this last this last little bit.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: They ran really well, so I look for Faultless to be really tough in the finals.
- 42:18SPEAKER_08: Another horse you pointed out to me, Yancy, when we were talking about this race pre-podcast wise, is nuclear arsenal, horse that doesn't have the the greatest ability away from the gate for whatever reason, but uh certainly has the speed as they hit the wire going the the the distance of ground.
- 42:38SPEAKER_03: Yeah, nuclear arsenal.
- 42:40SPEAKER_03: Uh this horse reminds me a lot of his mom.
- 42:43SPEAKER_03: His mom was therm is thermal nuclear energy, and my dad actually rode that his mom in his first two outs, and this horse was uh one of the fastest two-year-olds on the grounds when she was running that year, but she almost got herself beat at the gates and then came flying at the end.
- 43:01SPEAKER_03: So if this horse can break, I definitely think he has a good chance.
- 43:05SPEAKER_03: He's also a two-time fraternity qualifier as well.
- 43:08SPEAKER_03: One more that I want to talk about that just impressed me on trial night is Reverently the second fastest qualifier.
- 43:15SPEAKER_03: This will be one of two horses trained by James Gonzalez in this race.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: Um this horse has just to me has got better and better.
- 43:24SPEAKER_03: Uh he looked really good in his trial, like I said, but the time before that, he ran third in his all-American trial.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: And the horse that won that trial was Happy Flying Bird, which went on to run fifth in the finals and also ran fourth in the Rainbow Futurity.
- 43:40SPEAKER_03: So this horse has faced um tough competition before, and if he can improve a little bit, I think he'll be a horse to beat in the finals.
- 43:49SPEAKER_08: And that's for the Golden State Million Out at Los Alamitas.
- 43:52SPEAKER_08: Now we head east into the Midwest there at Horseshoe, Indianapolis has multiple stakes races going on on the 24th.
- 44:00SPEAKER_08: Of October, several thoroughbred races, as well as, of course, the several feature races in the quarter horse ranks.
- 44:07SPEAKER_08: And we'll start with the the governor stakes.
- 44:10SPEAKER_08: Well over$300 something thousand dollars for this race, Yankee, and a tremendous field that we have to look at.
- 44:17SPEAKER_03: Yes, Greg, and one of the top runners in that race is the fastest qualifier.
- 44:22SPEAKER_03: The TW Apolitical Beach.
- 44:24SPEAKER_03: This horse is a apolitical Jess Philly, who has really did nothing wrong.
- 44:28SPEAKER_03: It has five starts, four wins, um, including a win in the Heartland Fraturity Stakes, two starts back.
- 44:36SPEAKER_03: He also won his trial to that race, then comes back and wins his trial for this race.
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: So really this horse hasn't did anything wrong all year and looks to be a tough horse to beat.
- 44:46SPEAKER_08: Yes, I would say not a tremendous amount of apolitical just Indiana Brads out there, but this Philly seems like she've got what her job was after that first race there in May, and then from then on has put on a four-race win streak and goes into this race with that win streak going into the finals of this$300-something thousand dollar event.
- 45:09SPEAKER_03: One more top runner in that race that she's probably gonna have to outrun is the 10 red sleeve.
- 45:15SPEAKER_03: Uh, this is another fraternity winner.
- 45:18SPEAKER_03: Uh, this horse brings six starts, four wins into this race.
- 45:21SPEAKER_03: And this horse was the winner of the grade three QHRA Stallion Fraternity, two starts back.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: And this horse also qualified for the Heartland Fraternity Stakes earlier in July.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: So this horse brings a good resume into this race and looks to be tough from the outside.
- 45:38SPEAKER_08: And we'll stay there in Indianapolis as we look at the field for the Miss Roxy Little Fraturity, a grade three event for Indiana Breds, and another great field of ten, and they have a real standout in this field of keep on rolling one, two, three.
- 45:52SPEAKER_03: This is definitely the horse to beat, in my opinion.
- 45:55SPEAKER_03: Uh, Flying Cowboy 123 Gelding was a winner of the Boco Fraternity at Sandy Ridge, two starts back.
- 46:02SPEAKER_03: And one thing that I really like about this horse that I put down is that if you go back to his his maiden race before his Boco Fraternity trial, the speed figure was fifty-six.
- 46:13SPEAKER_03: Then you go to his fraternity trial, it was sixty-nine.
- 46:16SPEAKER_03: Then the Boco Fraternity, it was seventy-four.
- 46:19SPEAKER_03: Then his trial for this race was eighty-eight.
- 46:22SPEAKER_03: So this horse continues to get if you go by speed figures and improvement wise, this horse has continued to get faster and faster, and he really looked impressive on trial day.
- 46:32SPEAKER_03: Um Luis Vilanco will be into riding.
- 46:35SPEAKER_03: He's a top rider in the Texas and Louisiana circuit.
- 46:38SPEAKER_03: So I think this horse will be tough to beat.
- 46:40SPEAKER_08: Yes, I was there in Kentucky watching this horse go down the racetrack there in the Boco Futurity, and I was impressed with this horse's performance there, and even more impressed in the trial race, and he is going to be absolutely tough to beat.
- 46:56SPEAKER_08: Nacho Secret, who was also in the Boco Futurity, comes out of that event, runs a second place performance in his trial to get into the field here.
- 47:05SPEAKER_08: The morning line guy has him at three to one, and certainly this horse has a lot of experience.
- 47:11SPEAKER_08: He's always seemingly there, throw out two races in his career, and he's he's got a pretty stellar resume, even though he's only hit the winner circle one single time in his career.
- 47:23SPEAKER_03: Uh, another top runner in this race is the 10 wild over Corona.
- 47:28SPEAKER_03: Two starts back.
- 47:29SPEAKER_03: This horse ran third in the QHRA stallion for turdy, and then four starts back, he was a first place finisher in the Jagger Rocket stakes.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: So I think this is another horse that will be tough to beat in the finals.
- 47:41SPEAKER_08: All right, and to close out our preview section here this week, we're gonna look at the Indiana Championship stakes.
- 47:48SPEAKER_08: $111,000 on the line here for these older horses going down the racetrack, 440 yards.
- 47:55SPEAKER_08: A Stellarfield, uh, certainly a horse that stands out in the field is Mr.
- 48:02SPEAKER_08: Michael, the grade one Leo stakes winner from 2025.
- 48:06SPEAKER_08: Certainly is not running at that form in his current state, uh, but has made I lick here seven last seven starts has been at horseshoe in Indianapolis.
- 48:18SPEAKER_08: It's clearly his home for him, and he's staying home here to run in this big event.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Greg, uh like you said, he he hasn't quite ran his best so far this year, but if he goes back to that 2025 form, I mean, like you said, he was first in the Leo, he also was first in the SLM Big Daddy, ran fourth in the Davishoff Championship, and so he's a horse that has always been there and has been super tough.
- 48:43SPEAKER_03: But the horse he's gonna have to beat, and it's a horse that's beating three times this year already, is the seven uh Tatcha's secret.
- 48:52SPEAKER_03: This horse pretty much just runs in in Indianapolis there, but this horse has put together quite the resume in Indianapolis.
- 49:00SPEAKER_03: He was first this year in the Oozer Park stake.
- 49:03SPEAKER_03: Um he was also second in the Bob Wood Memorial, which Mr.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: Michael was in and ran fourth.
- 49:09SPEAKER_03: He was also first in the Bradford stake earlier this year.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 49:12SPEAKER_03: Michael ran second in that race.
- 49:14SPEAKER_03: So these two horses have faced each other a bunch this year, and they look to be the top two horses going into the race.
- 49:21SPEAKER_08: And that'll do it for this week's preview here on Quarter Horse Racing Talk Weekly.
- 49:26SPEAKER_08: And hang on, we'll be right back after these words.
- 49:30SPEAKER_11: Introducing the overwhelmingly talented stallion roster of Lazy E Ranch, a roster that includes Grade 1 Super Derby winner Big Lou, the legendary sire Corona Cartel, the number one second crop sire in the country, Cyber Monday, and one of the all-time leaders in quarter horse racing, first down Dash.

- 50:15SPEAKER_10: Alright, back to the show.

- 50:21SPEAKER_08: And of course, this past weekend was the huge weekend in Albuquerque, the AQHA Challenge Championship night.
- 50:28SPEAKER_08: And of course, the highlight of that night of is always the Grade 1 AQHA Challenge Championship, the 440-yard event for the three-year-olds and upward, going for a$290,000 purse, with a berth into the Champion of Champions on the line and a stellar field, including multiple name brand horses that have seen plenty of headlines by winning stakes events either this year or throughout their career.
- 50:54SPEAKER_08: And let's send it over to the Downs at Albuquerque for this big grade one event.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: Racing in the AQHA Challenge Championship.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: And a good break for KJ Desperado.
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: Also, right there is Stetson down towards the inside.
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: We've got Scoops Dynasty.
- 51:08SPEAKER_02: But it's KJ Desperado in the middle of the racetrack on the outside of Hen Stetson.
- 51:11SPEAKER_02: Stetson and KJ Desperado, these two gonna battle it out.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: Stetson on the outside, KJ Desperado on the inside.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: KJ Desperado, Stetson, here's the wire.
- 51:19SPEAKER_02: KJ Desperado wins it by a head.
- 51:21SPEAKER_02: Stetson a good second there.
- 51:22SPEAKER_02: Scoops Dynasty was third, and Hooked and Gone was fourth.
- 51:26SPEAKER_08: The all-time leader in earnings for the sport, KJ Desperado gets it done for owners Kathy and John Lee and Ruben Meyers, and for trainer Wes Giles with Noe Garcia Jr.
- 51:37SPEAKER_08: in the irons on this seven-year-old apolitical Jess Gelding out of the Trace Ace Mare Trace Vesas.
- 51:44SPEAKER_08: As this legend in the sport out duels Stetson to the wire and earns a berth into the Champion of Champions with this victory.
- 51:51SPEAKER_08: And we caught up with Wes Giles after the race to talk to him about what's possibly next for this seven-year-old gelding.
- 52:02SPEAKER_04: I'm thinking so.
- 52:03SPEAKER_04: If everything looks good tomorrow, that's probably our plan.
- 52:21SPEAKER_08: Next up, the second most valuable race there on championship night at Albuquerque was the Grade 3 Ataquan Derby Challenge.
- 52:28SPEAKER_08: For the three-year-olds going 400 yards,$178,000 on the line for this grade three event.
- 52:35SPEAKER_08: And here's the call.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: Racing in the Ataquan Derby Challenge and a good break for this is my time down towards the inside.
- 52:41SPEAKER_02: We got Margaret's Cowboy.
- 52:43SPEAKER_02: Notorious got away a little slow.
- 52:44SPEAKER_02: Also on the inside is Corona Streak and Jess.
- 52:46SPEAKER_02: But it's on the lead.
- 52:47SPEAKER_02: It's Margaret's Cowboy, Corona Streak and Jess along the inside.
- 52:50SPEAKER_02: Margaret's Cowboy with a clear lead.
- 52:52SPEAKER_02: And Margaret's Cowboy and Miguel Romero is going to win the Ataquan Derby Challenge by two.
- 52:56SPEAKER_02: Tied for second between Notorious and Corona Streak and Jess.
- 52:59SPEAKER_02: And tied for fourth between the Greek freaking FDD El Hefe.
- 53:03SPEAKER_08: Margaret's Cowboy gets it done for trainer John Hamus, who owns this horse in partnership with Bradbury Racing, as both of those folks are also the breeders on this Flying Cowboy 123 gelding, who was ridden by Miguel Ramirez and stopped the clock at 19.296 seconds to take home the trophy there in the Attaquon Derby Challenge Championship.
- 53:25SPEAKER_08: Now it's time to look at the two-year-olds in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship, a grade two event.
- 53:31SPEAKER_08: $154,000 in the line for these two-year-olds going 350 yards.
- 53:36SPEAKER_02: Racing in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge and a very good break there for J.E.G.
- 53:42SPEAKER_02: Also right there is Den Hawken down towards the inside BP Jetliner.
- 53:45SPEAKER_02: But it's BP Jetliner with the lead.
- 53:47SPEAKER_02: Den Hawken in the middle of the racetrack.
- 53:48SPEAKER_02: Dan Hawkins, BP Jetliner, Den Hawken just in front.
- 53:51SPEAKER_02: Dan Hawken's gonna get there.
- 53:53SPEAKER_02: Dan Hawken and Brian Candonosa take the John Deere Juvenile Challenge.
- 53:57SPEAKER_02: Tied for second there between BP Jetliner and J.E.G.
- 54:01SPEAKER_02: Fascination B.
- 54:02SPEAKER_08: Den Hawkin gets it done for trainer Sammy Mendoza with Brian Candonosa in the irons for owner John Abringon.
- 54:10SPEAKER_08: Who this two-year-old gilding is by This Is an Eagle out of the Captain Courage Mayor Miss Anna's Courage, who stopped a clock at 17.244 seconds for the 350 yards.
- 54:21SPEAKER_08: And we were able to get a hold of Brian Canonosa for the post-race interview.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: And then gates open, he broke kind of in the middle with him, and about 25 yards out, he got the lead.
- 54:43SPEAKER_01: And he started to feel a little bit by himself when the horses come a little bit to him.
- 54:47SPEAKER_01: I kept asking him to go, and he never stopped.
- 54:51SPEAKER_01: Thank God.
- 54:53SPEAKER_08: The Distaffers went at it.
- 54:55SPEAKER_08: Moffal really nice Phillies and Mayors going at it here in the$129,000 Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge Championship, a grade one event.
- 55:05SPEAKER_08: There were three grade one events that night, and this is one of the three.
- 55:08SPEAKER_08: As these Phillies and Mayors go 400 yards down the racetrack there in Albuquerque.
- 55:20SPEAKER_02: Also trying to charge on the outside is Dynasty's Girl, but it's Jay's Freight Train in the middle of the racetrack.
- 55:24SPEAKER_02: Dynasty's girl is chasing gamely on the outside, but Jay's freight train's well clear.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: And Jay's Freight Train and Ruben Castro destroy them in the Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: Dynasty's Girl was second, tied for third between Jolie Lady and Flying Bandita.
- 55:38SPEAKER_08: Jay's freight train eluded class as she crossed the finish line for trainer Sammy Mendoza with Ruben Castro aboard for owner Marisol Alvarado as his freight train B Philly crossed the wire in 19.192 seconds for the 400 yards.
- 55:54SPEAKER_08: And we grabbed young Ruben Castro, who was the winning jockey after this performance.
- 55:59SPEAKER_05: Well, Mary, I mean she stood in there, left it on top and just finished on.
- 56:05SPEAKER_05: Asked her little bit just to keep her attention wanted to give a little look at the likes, but I mean she's a professional manager.
- 56:11SPEAKER_05: She comes out here and does what she needs to do.
- 56:17SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 56:18SPEAKER_07: What did it feel like crossing the wire in a grade one?
- 56:20SPEAKER_05: Man, it's been a lot of time trying to get this accomplishment and uh I appreciate the owners, trainers, you know, everyone for the opportunity and everyone that's been with every in every step with gig here.
- 56:33SPEAKER_08: And to round out the five championship races there that night in Albuquerque, it's the Grade One Q Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship for the Hook Horses going 870 yards for a purse of$127,000.
- 56:47SPEAKER_08: And we pick it up going down the stretch here in the Q-Racing Video Distap Challenge Championship.
- 56:53SPEAKER_02: I am out of here.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: Down along the inside is handing out candy, but I am out of here now.
- 56:57SPEAKER_02: Puts his head in front.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: On the inside, uh handing out candy's trying to fight back.
- 57:01SPEAKER_02: They come to the final 220, handing out candy on the inside.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: On the outside, I am out of here.
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: I am out of here handing out candy.
- 57:07SPEAKER_02: I am out of here just in front, 40 yards to go, and I am out of here, and Jose Enriquez take the Q Racing Video Distance Challenge by one.
- 57:15SPEAKER_08: I'm Out of Here gets it done for trainer Jason Driver for owner Sergio Abarra with Jose Enriquez aboard for the win for this five-year-old Corona's leaving you gelding, who is out of the Woodbridge Mare Carson City Girl, and stopped the time in 44.952 seconds for the 870 yards to come home a grade one winner.
- 57:37SPEAKER_08: And that's all the time we have for this episode of Court Horse Racing Talk.
