- 0:38Music.
- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:02In today's hectic world, it seems that there is just too much to do and too little time to do it.
- 1:09This is a trick of the devil to keep us busy and out of God's word and out of God's will.
- 1:14The truth of the matter is that there is a time to every purpose under the heaven.
- 1:19Please join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries,
- 1:23as Kim explores the limitless opportunities we have when we give God our time.
- 1:28Hello, and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:33I'm just really excited as we begin to embark on this lesson,
- 1:38and we begin to take time to look at that all-important event in our life, which is time.
- 1:44And time is an event, because what time is, is event management.
- 1:48And we're going to watch hours and minutes of our day tick off and we need to
- 1:55be investing them as opposed to just spending them.
- 2:00And the Bible says that we need to lay up our treasures in heaven where moth
- 2:06and rust doth not corrupt.
- 2:08And that's how we invest our time by making sure that we spend our energies,
- 2:15our efforts, and our time on heavenly things.
- 2:19If you would, please turn to John chapter 15 and verse 5.
- 2:24We're actually going to spend our lesson time, most of it, out of Ecclesiastes chapter 3.
- 2:30But I want you to look at what he says in John chapter 15 and verse 5.
- 2:34He says, I am the vine, ye are the branches.
- 2:38He that abideth in me and I in him, the
- 2:41same bringeth forth much fruit for without me ye can do nothing we could spend
- 2:48probably an eternity discussing the truths in that little verse but what i want
- 2:56you to see is that he says that he's the vine and we're the branches.
- 3:00As children of God, we are offshoots of him.
- 3:05We're called Christians because we are to be Christ-like.
- 3:09We are followers of Christ. Therefore, we are not the main stem from which all the nourishment comes.
- 3:17We're not the main stem from which we get our strength.
- 3:20And we're not the main stem from which the roots go to give us position.
- 3:26You see, he is because he's divine. vine and we're offshoots of that vine.
- 3:33So we need to be looking to him for our strength.
- 3:36We need to be looking to him for our position.
- 3:41And friends, we need to look to him so that we realize that we are part of him
- 3:47and that we're not giving the orders, but we are following.
- 3:51And he says that he is the vine and we are the branches. And if we abide in him, he abides in us.
- 4:00Then he says, look closely at what he said.
- 4:03He says, when I abide in him, he abides in me, I bring forth much fruit.
- 4:11Friends, you want to be a productive person. You want to be a productive Christian.
- 4:17Do you want to be all you can be?
- 4:20Do you want to be all that you were intended to be. Remember in Jeremiah 29,
- 4:2411, he says that he knows the plans that he has for you.
- 4:29He has an expected end.
- 4:32And in order to find yourself at that place at the end of this journey that
- 4:37he intended you to be, it's extremely important that you walk the life he intended for you.
- 4:45And he says, if you're in me and I'm in you, you're going to bring forth much fruit.
- 4:49And he follows that with this well
- 4:53without me you can do nothing how interesting then is it that many of us plan
- 5:00our days our weeks our months our years our life our careers our goals without
- 5:07ever acknowledging or asking his help.
- 5:13Without ever consulting the
- 5:15creator of our being, the one with whom he purchased us with his blood.
- 5:21I'm speaking to Christians who go about willy-nilly doing their thing day after
- 5:26day, ignoring God, all in the name of being all that they can be.
- 5:32Friends, at this very moment in time, we have the opportunity to stop.
- 5:39Remember he said, be still and know that I am God. Remember that in Ephesians
- 5:436, he said, when you've done all that you can do to just stand,
- 5:46we have the opportunity right now, this very moment, and over the next few moments of this lesson,
- 5:52to stand in the presence of God and allow him to reveal to us that all important
- 6:00concept of how do we manage our events.
- 6:03He said, lay them at his feet and follow.
- 6:07And we're going to talk about today how you can get the most out of your day,
- 6:13how you can lay your head on your pillow at night in full assurance that you
- 6:20got done exactly what he wanted you to do.
- 6:24So often we plan our days and we plan God right out of it.
- 6:29He doesn't have any time whatsoever to wiggle his way in for us to acknowledge his presence.
- 6:34And then I think one of the most amazing things that I've found myself doing
- 6:39at different stages of my life is planting him in in a box.
- 6:43Okay, God, I'm going to study from 6 to 6.30.
- 6:46Well, it's great that you have a scheduled time with God and you have a meeting time with God.
- 6:51But I submit to you, ladies, gentlemen, young and old alike,
- 6:57when is the last time that you scheduled a half an hour date with that significant
- 7:03person you love? You don't.
- 7:06You may schedule what you're going to do, but you don't schedule how much time
- 7:11you're going to spend. You have a ballpark idea, perhaps. but you don't just
- 7:15say, okay, we're going to dinner. Pick me up at 6.
- 7:19I'll be back at 7.15. You certainly don't go, pick me up at 6. I'll be home at 6.30.
- 7:27Yet, we do that with God. And we think we're doing something fantastic that
- 7:33we've scheduled some time with Him.
- 7:35So right now, as we're beginning to look at our lives and beginning to move
- 7:39forward with how we want to spend our time investing in our heavenly future
- 7:46and in being all that we can be for Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
- 7:52As we're beginning to do that, I want you to just plan on time with God and
- 7:59allow Him to tell you when it's all said and done, when He's finished giving
- 8:04you what you need for that day.
- 8:07And as you're making your plans in order to make sure that you don't plan him
- 8:12out do plan him in and do intend on spending time with him but when he knocks on your door,
- 8:22unexpectedly in the form of a co-worker in need stop what you're doing trust.
- 8:28Him to let you get your work done,
- 8:32but don't ever put anything above that amazing opportunity he's just placed in front.
- 8:38God knows what you need to get done. And you know what?
- 8:43He created the night and he created the day and he places it on a 24-hour cycle
- 8:50and he knows exactly how much sleep you need.
- 8:52He knows how much exercise you need And he knows how many things you need to do,
- 9:01Go to him in prayer early. The psalmist David said, early in the morning I rise.
- 9:08Friends, the first thing we need to do as we begin to look at time is realize
- 9:13that it all belongs to him.
- 9:16And he is in control. And he knows what's best.
- 9:20And he knows exactly what you need to get through the day. No other book you read can tell you that.
- 9:26No other conversation that you have can give you all that you need for that day.
- 9:33But a little talk with Jesus makes it right.
- 9:37Will you pray with me, please? Our kind and most gracious, dear Heavenly Father,
- 9:40I'm just so excited that I know that you are in this place.
- 9:46And I'm so excited, Lord, that I know that you can open our hearts and our minds
- 9:51and you can allow us to hear exactly what you have for us.
- 9:54And Lord that you can just revolutionize how we spend our time and help us to
- 10:01invest it in heavenly causes and in heavenly ways.
- 10:05Lord teach us to hear you.
- 10:08Discipline us to come to you asking you what you'd have for us.
- 10:13Speak to us over the next few moments I pray.
- 10:16Bless these lips of clay and all these
- 10:19things we ask in Jesus name and all the God's people said amen
- 10:23in ecclesiastes chapter
- 10:263 it begins with to everything
- 10:29there is a season and a
- 10:32time to every purpose under heaven
- 10:35perhaps what we need to do is
- 10:38really just park a little while in verse 1 perhaps we need to realize what purpose
- 10:46we have in life jesus told us in luke chapter 19 and verse 10 that he came to
- 10:53seek and to save those which were lost.
- 10:59What's your purpose? What purpose has he come into your heart for?
- 11:05No doubt that he come to seek and to save you.
- 11:09And as your savior, he has redeemed you, a fallen man in a fallen race.
- 11:16And when it's all said and done, he will take you to be with him.
- 11:22But you know, my friends, he didn't save you to sit on the sideline.
- 11:28No, he said, go ye into all the world and teach and preach the gospel.
- 11:32He said, ye are the light of the world. And then he went further to say,
- 11:35hey, don't hide it under a bushel, but set it out so all the house can see.
- 11:40And he said, ye are the salt of the earth.
- 11:44He said, ye are my witnesses.
- 11:48Friends, his purpose was to save you so that you could show others the way.
- 11:55He said in John chapter 14 and verse 6, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
- 12:00And no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
- 12:04He tells us in John chapter 15 and verse 5, as we were speaking about just a
- 12:09little bit ago, that when he's in us and we're in him, that we bring forth much fruit.
- 12:17His purpose is that you bring others to him.
- 12:21Through the marvelous work of grace that he makes in your life every day,
- 12:26through the incredible display of mercy that he gives you every moment of every day.
- 12:35But we're so messed up as human beings that we seek a purpose.
- 12:42We're constantly trying to figure out, why am I here?
- 12:46What am I supposed to be doing? How can I make a difference?
- 12:50These are all wonderful, wonderful, noble ideas.
- 12:55But friends, that's sort of the world. Taking a piece of what God has said,
- 13:01saying it a little differently, spinning it a little alternatively,
- 13:06and getting you into other things as opposed to the word of God to find your purpose.
- 13:13Huge popular book, The Purpose Driven Life.
- 13:18He displayed for you. Rick Warren showed you exactly what he felt the word of God was saying.
- 13:25And he was right in that he said there is a purpose and you should live your life to that purpose.
- 13:31And that purpose is that God should be your center and your love and your devotion
- 13:36to him should be your motivation.
- 13:38And every act that you do, every response that you make, Every plan that you
- 13:44have should be embodied by the Christ that lives inside of you.
- 13:50And when you do that, you'll bring forth much fruit.
- 13:55What's the problem? Many of us just feel we don't have time.
- 13:59And that's why we're speaking as lovingly and as gentle as I know how,
- 14:04that you need to spend time wisely.
- 14:10It's a precious gift. Do you realize it can't be bought or sold?
- 14:15You can't get any more, but it can be lost.
- 14:19You can waste it, and you can't get it back.
- 14:23And all of us have the same amount of time per day, but not all of us have the
- 14:28same amount of time in our lifespan.
- 14:31And you don't know how many days you've been allotted on this earth.
- 14:35So I submit to you, you don't have any time to waste.
- 14:39You've got a job to do, and that's to be God's ambassador.
- 14:44What manner of love the father has bestowed upon
- 14:47us to be called the sons of god he loves
- 14:50us that much and the amazing miracles
- 14:54that he performs in our life should make
- 14:57such a change in us that
- 15:00others can see in second corinthians 5 17 he says
- 15:03that old things are passed away behold all things become new
- 15:06we are new creatures in christ the work of love that he manifests upon us changes
- 15:12us and though our sins were a scarlet they are white as snow though our works
- 15:17of righteousness are as filthy rags he imputes his righteousness in us and when
- 15:21he looks at us he sees our potential,
- 15:24not our faults because he sees the blood his sinless perfect blood and so as
- 15:33we begin to read in ecclesiastes chapter 3 beginning now in verse 2 he says
- 15:38a time to be born and a time to die,
- 15:42A time to plant and a time to pluck up that we just planned in A time to kill
- 15:48and a time to heal A time to break down and a time to build up.
- 15:52Time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance.
- 15:59A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together.
- 16:03A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing.
- 16:08A time to get and a time to lose. A time to keep and a time to cast away.
- 16:14A time to rend and a time to sow a
- 16:17time to keep silence and a time
- 16:20to speak a time to love and a
- 16:23time to hate a time of war and a time of peace what
- 16:27prophet has he that worketh in the wherein he laboreth
- 16:30i have seen the travail which god has given to
- 16:33the sons of men to be exercised in it he has
- 16:36made everything beautiful in his
- 16:39time also he has set the world in
- 16:42their heart so that no man can find out the work
- 16:45that god maketh from the beginning to the end i know that there is no good in
- 16:49them but for a man to rejoice and to do good in his life and also that every
- 16:54man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor it is the gift
- 16:58of god i know that whatsoever god doeth it shall be forever.
- 17:03Nothing can be put to it nor anything taken from it and god doeth it that men should fear before him.
- 17:11That which hath been is now, and that which is to be hath already been.
- 17:16You see that? God knows the past, and he knows the future simultaneously.
- 17:23Oh, how he loves us. And God requires that which is past.
- 17:28And moreover, I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was
- 17:32there, and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
- 17:35I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked,
- 17:41for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
- 17:49You want to get it all done? Come to Calvary and get your orders for the day.
- 17:55You want to end up in the very best place that you can possibly be for you?
- 18:01Come to Calvary and allow him to set your course.
- 18:06You want to succeed beyond everyone's expectation?
- 18:11Come to Calvary and allow him to set your goals and objectives.
- 18:18There is a way that seemeth right unto man, but the end thereof is destruction.
- 18:23You see, you can labor all day and get nowhere.
- 18:26You can spin your wheels. But God says that he knows the way.
- 18:32And when he is directing your footsteps, the path you trod will be the one directed by God.
- 18:40And you will be productive because he said that when I'm in you and you're in me,
- 18:46you bring forth much fruit when
- 18:50we talk about the purpose under heaven we need to work well you see because
- 18:57he set us out there as an example he set us out there as a model for others
- 19:00to follow in ecclesiastes 9 10 he says whatsoever thy hand findeth to do do it with thy might,
- 19:07for there is no work nor device nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest.
- 19:13Everything you do due to his glory first corinthians
- 19:1610 31 says whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do do all to
- 19:21the glory of god colossians 3 23 says and whatsoever you do do it heartily as
- 19:26to the lord and not to men set your purpose to please god not as men pleasers but pleasing God,
- 19:36the creator of heaven and earth,
- 19:39the maker of all things,
- 19:41the one who bought you with a price.
- 19:44You see, the only applause you need is that of Nelskaard Hands.
- 19:52See, there's a purpose under heaven. And that purpose, my friend,
- 19:57is found in Jesus Christ.
- 20:00As you begin to make your plans and you're looking at how you spend your days,
- 20:07I ask you this question, friend, what is your purpose?
- 20:12And what is it that you're trying to accomplish?
- 20:15And who is it that you're trying to please for you see he said go about doing good,
- 20:22Galatians 6 10 says as we have therefore opportunity let us do good unto all
- 20:26men especially unto them who are of the household of faith Acts 10 38 says how
- 20:33God anointed Jesus of Nazareth the Holy Ghost and with power who went about
- 20:37doing good and as you begin to look at your purpose.
- 20:42Remember he said live righteously. He says good and upright is the Lord,
- 20:46therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
- 20:49He says in Proverbs 12 too that a good man obtain the favor of the Lord,
- 20:53but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
- 20:57When you go about setting your purpose on how you're going to spend your time,
- 21:01what dictates you and motivates you, take time to love.
- 21:06For in Proverbs 10, 12, he says hatred stirreth up strifes, but love covereth all sins.
- 21:131 Peter 4.8, he said, And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves,
- 21:18for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- 21:211 John 4.11, he said, Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
- 21:30To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
- 21:35My charge to you, my friend, is this. Who are you pleasing with your purpose?
