Transcript
- 0:03[on-hold music] The FDA just approved updated COVID vaccines, which means it's a great time to explain why a senator told pregnant women that the COVID vaccine causes an eighty-two percent miscarriage rate.
- 0:18Short story, he made that number up, and you're never gonna believe how.
- 0:22Senator Ron Johnson, of course, started with a real twenty-twenty-one study of pregnant women vaccinated with the COVID vaccine, and then he threw seven hundred of them out and ran the numbers again.
- 0:33To clarify, he removed the women who got the shot too late in pregnancy for a miscarriage to be definitionally possible and then measured miscarriages.
- 0:42Look, the miscarriage rate for all known pregnancies is ten to twenty percent, and every one of those is terrible. My family has been there. It is terrible.
- 0:54But five years on from that study, the miscarriage rate for women who received the COVID vaccine before twenty weeks, it's thirteen and a half percent. That is terribly normal.
- 1:06The next time you receive a shocking number from a proud card-carrying member of a party that hates women and children, check their math, because there's a good chance they just simply deleted people.
