- 0:00The only Donald I want to hear is Donald Duck. Do it. Do it. I'd do a Donald Duck
- 0:06impression somebody. I can't do one. I can't do one. There he is. Is that new?
- 0:10No, that's old. Yeah. Okay. Had that for a while. I just haven't seen you in
- 0:14person in a while. No. No. Or in duck. We're in duck. I haven't been in duck
- 0:18for a long time. Once it gets cold, once it gets colder,
- 0:24I'll be ducky. Our audience knows what
- 0:26you do. I'm writing down in duck.
- 0:32Welcome to Multiple Nerdgasm with your hosts Matt, Luke, and
- 0:39Dan. Multiple Nerdgasm, your guide to all
- 0:45things nerdy.
- 0:51I have my PAX ticket and I just remembered something cuz I told Dan when
- 0:55he buys this he has to tick yes to a megaort. The mega if he gets in I'm
- 0:59going to be so pissed. Well, I did tick yes. So, I don't know what the [ __ ] I'm
- 1:05going to do if they do choose me because I'm sure being way over my head. But it
- 1:08could be fun um floundering about trying to do all these challenges while people
- 1:13go, "Oh, it should be me up there." Including including Luke. Including me.
- 1:17It looks like boo. [ __ ] you, Dan. No, cuz I I've only seen a couple of time. I
- 1:23I watch I catch some of the tournaments that they have if I'm not seeing
- 1:27something else. And sometimes you do get like how did this person get there? But
- 1:31sometimes you just random. It's also the game as well. Yeah. Like a team game of
- 1:36charades where you're playing with someone you don't really know. Yeah.
- 1:39That's going to be a hard thing to do. H I was instinctively going to tick no
- 1:45obviously, but uh what I said to Luke as
- 1:49we left last year's packs was that the next time I come, I'm going to say yes
- 1:55to everything offered to me. And boy, am I going to have fun. If like Jim Carrey,
- 2:01hey, Denny, suck on this.
- 2:07Um yeah, like Jim Carrey. Yeah, cuz you know, like there were so many things I
- 2:11was just went that looks like I'm not going to do that. Maybe it would be fun,
- 2:14you know? And we did that dark fantasy experience on the last day and I'm like,
- 2:18we should have been doing this [ __ ] every day. Even that panel we just
- 2:22stumbled across where they were just doing drawing. We got to do more panels
- 2:25than one. Yeah. Yes. You're going to get to the hotel. Luke's just going to pull
- 2:29out a duck. Yeah. Get in it. Yeah.
- 2:36Don't know what I'm going to dress up this year. I've always wanted to go with
- 2:38Zack Branigan. Zack Brangan. If you go with Zack Bran,
- 2:42what's his little servant called? K. I could do K. You could do K. The finest
- 2:48velour. Tell the boy to lay on my formal shorts.
- 2:54What boy? You, Kip. You captain always goes down with the ship. Kiff,
- 2:58congratulations, kid. You're not promoting you to captain.
- 3:04Yeah. Yeah. for listeners. Um, we have seen more than just that one episode all those
- 3:09quotes came from. But is that from the one episode? I'm not sure. I have seen one episode.
- 3:15Love that dynamic. It's a great episode though. I actually Good opportunity now that
- 3:20we're talking about Stoner Animations cuz you know it's well known now that
- 3:24I'm just obsessed with Rick and Morty. Um, I've got one more season to go. I'm
- 3:28trying to pace myself now cuz I I I rocketed through way too quickly. Um,
- 3:33but I have started watching another one called Common Side Effects, which is new
- 3:39and it's very good and it's I guess you it definitely falls into the stoner
- 3:44category because it's actually about a hippie that finds a magic mushroom that
- 3:49cures literally anything. And he's on the run from the from big farmer trying
- 3:55to uh to exploit andor stop him. But
- 3:59it's just it's very funny. It's very dry and I'm liking it very much. What is
- 4:05this on the pirate bay? Matt, I don't know what it's on. All right. No, I think Well, I
- 4:12think the thing about Rick and Morty, I think cuz the same thing with Den
- 4:14Harmon, like with Community when you went back and rewatched that even three
- 4:18or four times, you picked up on something new every time. And I think
- 4:22that's going to be the same when you rewatch Rick and Rick and Morty is deep,
- 4:26man. It is so deep. Like there's at one point during sound like one of them,
- 4:32man. I am one of them. The only thing I'm not gonna do is like [ __ ] tell
- 4:36you that if you don't like it, you're [ __ ] stupid. But rock up with a I
- 4:40mean, I've never watched it, so I guess I don't Luke, you joke, but I was going
- 4:45to ask I was going to I was going to float this. I was I was I'm floating the I'm
- 4:49floating the pickle tattoo. Not necessarily the pickle tattoo, but a
- 4:53Rick and Morty tattoo, generally speaking. I've got the socks. do
- 4:57something. Don't do the Don't do the pickle tattoo. I'm fine with anything
- 5:00else, but the the pickle tattoo's been done. There's things that happen in
- 5:04oneoff episodes that like five seasons later they just dive straight into it.
- 5:08There's this one episode, it's somewhere in season one where something goes
- 5:12horribly wrong. And so Rick just goes, "Okay, we need to find a timeline where
- 5:18you and me," because there's infinite timelines, right? It's about the
- 5:20multiverse. He goes, "We need to find a timeline where you and I die today. and
- 5:24we just need to go to that timeline 1 minute after that and then just live
- 5:27there from now on. And so they bury the bodies of the Rick and Morty that died
- 5:32in that universe in the backyard and then just continue living as if nothing
- 5:37happened, right? And then like years later they revisit that because
- 5:42somebody's like blah blah blah what? And he's like, "Oh yeah, there are there are
- 5:46bodies in the backyard. Bodies of us." You know, now I wonder if it's something
- 5:51that was actually planned or something that they just I think they just keep
- 5:55going back. Yeah, I'd love to think it would it was planned, but it's almost
- 5:59it's almost equally as awesome if they just go Do you remember the episode in
- 6:04the first season where we did that? Why don't we just pretend that's a major
- 6:07plot point now? It's a like I said, I haven't watched it, but I know that I
- 6:10assume the tone of it is that that they could also just not do that and it
- 6:13wouldn't be like people wouldn't be like that's a plot hole. Remember they
- 6:16[ __ ] murder well not murdered but remember they bury those bodies and make
- 6:19out what's that plot hole like it's not a serious show like you can do that
- 6:23stuff but when it gets like it's it's like Futurama in the way that like
- 6:26there's episodes that brought me to tears you know like there's there's
- 6:30episodes that are so moving there's this one it's like the end of season 5 or
- 6:34something where his daughter um Beth and no one can remember her name because
- 6:38it's so generic and she like that's like this running gag but there's even a
- 6:42point where she's talking to a guy and he's like what's your name? She's like
- 6:45Beth. He's like, "I know you're saying it, but I just I just cannot hear it.
- 6:48It's just so generic." But, um, she realizes she's just had a drab life and
- 6:52and has been a housewife and all this stuff. And he's like, "Well, why don't
- 6:56you just go off and be yourself in the, you know, be a space traveler and
- 7:00stuff." And she's like, "Well, I've got to look after my family." He's like,
- 7:02"Well, I could do a clone of you right now that stays here and looks after your
- 7:06family while you go." And she's like, "No way." End of episode. Never visited
- 7:10again. years later, a [ __ ] Beth from Space comes and it turns out he did
- 7:15clone her. She just wasn't the clone, so she didn't know about it. And now
- 7:18there's two Beths, you know, like and it turns out she and they fight. They're
- 7:23like, "Which one of us is real?" And he's like, "I don't know." And there's
- 7:26this montage of him like growing his daughter in this like big [ __ ] tube.
- 7:30And he turns away so he doesn't see which one. He blasts off into space.
- 7:34Like it's [ __ ] moving as [ __ ]
- 7:40I mean, we've all been there. There's an episode where Morty starts
- 7:44dating Captain Planet, right? And it's it's it's a female Captain Planet,
- 7:49right? And Captain Planet like she's she's planet, but she looks like Captain
- 7:54Planet female, and she has all the abilities of Captain Planet, and they
- 7:57start dating, and it's really nice, but then she starts realizing that you can't
- 8:01passively fight against people who deny climate change and stuff. So she ends up
- 8:06like essentially becoming like an eotterrorist and she like caves in this
- 8:10mine with people inside and stuff and Morty has to break up with her because
- 8:14he he can't date this [ __ ] mass murderer and he's crying and she's
- 8:18crying. She's like but don't you love me? So like it's because I love you that
- 8:21I have to leave. Like it's just [ __ ] it just hits you right in the
- 8:26eotterrorist. Did you see that girl who threw the painting the paint or oil on
- 8:31that painting is now in prison? Is she for that or for something else? for
- 8:35that. Oh, okay. I think she got three years or something in prison. Good.
- 8:41Yeah. Don't do that. No. Nothing to do with She one of those anything. What was
- 8:46it? No. No. Something oil. Whatever those people are. Yeah. The the people.
- 8:50Stop oil. No. Stop oil. Do stop oil. Please stop oil. Yeah. Oil. Get rid of
- 8:55all the oil. The oil. Suck it out of the earth. Yeah. And just like the way they
- 8:59do it is just to piss everyone off, which Yeah. It's not helping you. Why
- 9:03you think it gets people talking? It's You say that, but I watched an interview
- 9:07where a guy was asking him and he was like, "Yeah, everybody says that, but it
- 9:10actually does." Like, yeah, you hate us, but you've heard of us. And where's your
- 9:14data, though? Where's your data that changed anything? They're saying they
- 9:17have the data. And the data says if they do nothing, they then no one gives a
- 9:22[ __ ] If they uh if they do like, you know, friendly, nice things, no one
- 9:26gives a [ __ ] If they're [ __ ] annoying, everybody complains, but
- 9:30people go, "What's this about?" And and it does move the move the needle more
- 9:35than other stuff. That's what they say. Is is that is that the same as like
- 9:38people heckling Jerry Seinfeld in Melbourne to like stop Israel invading
- 9:44Palestine? Same thing. Solved everything. Dan solved. Yeah. Solved.
- 9:48Yeah. Because you didn't know this, but Jerry Seinfeld actually was in charge of
- 9:53the war in Gaza. Yeah. You know who else was in charge? Kids that were going to a
- 9:58Jewish school in Canada. So, I'm glad they've [ __ ] been caught now, too.
- 10:02Yeah. Yeah. Who knows who's in the signal chat these days?
- 10:07[ __ ] hell. What a Hey. Hey, I know. Not on the show. No politics. And I'll get kicked
- 10:14out. Um, I watched a show. I watched the first episode of a show I've been
- 10:19waiting for. Finally on Britbox Ludwig. This is the show where David
- 10:26Mitchell, one of my favorite comedians,
- 10:29plays uh he he's twins. One twin is a uh
- 10:35is DCI of of in um Cambridge in England. He's like a detective chief
- 10:40inspector. One brother is a shutin who designs puzzles for a living for
- 10:46newspapers and solves puzzles. He goes by the pseudonym Ludwig. He does that cuz he likes
- 10:52Beethovven. The the detective brother goes missing
- 10:59under suspicious circumstances and his wife calls the brother and says, "I need
- 11:03you to go into the police station and get his notebook. Just pretend to be
- 11:07him." And he's like, "Fuck that." Anyway, he gets convinced to do it. But
- 11:11then when he goes in there, everyone thinks he's the detective and they're
- 11:14like, "Come on, crime scene." And he gets dragged along to a crime scene.
- 11:18Turns out he's quite good at solving murders. and then TV show.
- 11:24And it's really good. It's funny and uh and and and and cool. I I don't know
- 11:29like and it has to be television cuz I'm pretty sure if I was working with
- 11:32someone every day and then they disappeared and their twin walked in the
- 11:35next day, I'm pretty sure I'd be able to work out it wasn't. I've got a great
- 11:39quote for you, Luke. And in fact, I meant to send this to you guys earlier
- 11:42in the week just just for laughs. Um this
- 11:47is where is it? here. Mary Kate Olsen of
- 11:52the Olsson twins. Right. Mhm. Yeah. On being asked if she ever gets mistaken
- 11:57for her sister. Right. This is what she said. Right.
- 12:02To me, the difference between us is pretty obvious. She thinks the opposite
- 12:07of fire is water. I think the opposite of fire is no fire.
- 12:13[Laughter]
- 12:17solve for itself. Well, you're right, Luke. I think
- 12:23because it's a television show. It's a comedy. No, no. Exactly. It doesn't
- 12:26matter at all. It's just it's it's stop you there. Personal anecdote. I used to
- 12:31work with a girl that I did not know had a twin. Oh. I saw the twin in the city
- 12:35once and went to and I thought it was her and I and even when I started going,
- 12:41"Hey, how are you?" And she starts going, "Fine." I'm like, "Oh, what are
- 12:44you I was just like waiting for my boyfriend who will be here any minute. I
- 12:48was like, "Okay, weird. All right, see you Monday." Like, yeah,
- 12:54they must. You think they'd be used to it, but you still thought someone was a
- 12:58bit weird. It wasn't a So, we have cousins. You've met them as
- 13:04the Jennis cousins. Uh, twins. Um, and I could not tell I knew
- 13:11any of them were twins. You've got She's got identical twin cousins. Yeah.
- 13:16It's possible that I met them both and thought they were thought they were the
- 13:19same person. Yeah. So I at first No.
- 13:23Wait, who? Maddie and like Auntie like
- 13:28Mary Lou's daughters. Oh yes, them. Sorry. Yeah.
- 13:34Um and at first I could not tell them apart. But now instantly I can just see
- 13:41one of them. Fire, no fire. I just have
- 13:45to ask the trigger word fire and then they Yeah. water or no fire and Yeah.
- 13:51And then I know. Um but now instantly if I just see one of them I can tell. But
- 13:55yeah, but I can see like if you didn't I
- 14:01think if you hadn't maybe if I only met one of them I'd get confused. I don't
- 14:04know cuz I don't really know how I know. I just know. But also, he's I just tell
- 14:08they just look different in subtle ways like Yeah. sub subtler ways than usual. He's he's
- 14:14quite senior. So, I think if my boss's twin walked in, even if it was a tiny
- 14:19bit off, I still probably wouldn't allow myself to see the difference because
- 14:24Yeah. You think of it. Yeah. Well, that that too. Did you like it, though?
- 14:29Because I found it very good. The the show? Yeah, the show. Oh, you watched it
- 14:34as well? Yeah, I've seen it all. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I've
- 14:38seen it. Oh, yeah. I didn't wait for things to come on, man. All right, fine.
- 14:43Yeah. No, I did. I liked it a lot. I'm excited to watch more. I I was surprised
- 14:48by the appearance of uh [ __ ] the guy from the witch. He pops up. Guy from the
- 14:54Witch. Yeah, the guy from Yeah, the guy with really deep voice. Yeah. Oh, he's
- 15:00in all of uh Robert Edgar's movies, I think, actually. Yes, he is. He's also
- 15:04in a really good movie called Sagar Wayne and the Green Knight if you
- 15:07haven't seen it with De Patel pays plays Gwane. Oh, and he plays the Green
- 15:12Knight. It's [ __ ] excellent. Oh, I meant to watch that. I I know the movie.
- 15:16Maybe it's just called The Green Knight anyway from a couple of years back.
- 15:20Yeah, it's really good. It's probably the second best King Arthur movie after
- 15:25Excalibur between that and Disney's The Sword in the Stone.
- 15:31There's not that many good King Arthur movies. There's not that many because he
- 15:35wasn't that good. No, King Arthur was excellent. They're just for some reason
- 15:38there's not that many good movies. Audio book I listened to when I was growing up
- 15:42and that's the King Arthur that I know. Yeah, same actually. I I'm in the ex and
- 15:47I borrowed it from Penri Library on cassette and that's that's King Arthur
- 15:51from that. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So, does Li stay good? Cuz I'm
- 15:55enjoying it. I enjoyed the first episode. Yeah. Excellent. All right.
- 15:58Good. Well, it's also it's a good thing they've only they only have what six to
- 16:0210 episodes. So, they're not going to try and I think Yeah, I think they're
- 16:06long though. They're not like the 20 minute episodes of like, you know, black
- 16:09books or something. But, uh yeah. Yeah. It's not like not zany comedy, but it's
- 16:14very funny. The taxi picks him up. The taxi driver's like, "Are you uh you
- 16:19know, like to talk or should I put the radio on?" And he like ignores him and
- 16:22he goes, "Oh, I'll put the radio on then." And then they pull away and you
- 16:24just hear him go, "Sorry, could you turn that off?
- 16:28Just funny. That's excellent. Yeah, that's right. Cuz all the way to
- 16:33Cambridge from Yeah, that's right. Yeah, it's like an hour drive or something.
- 16:36Yeah. [ __ ] beautiful city though. I've never been to Cambridge. Yeah.
- 16:40Well, is it Oxford? Which one is it? It's a college town. I can't remember
- 16:43now. Cambridge. Cambridge. Cambridge. Yeah. Um, speaking of detectives, um,
- 16:47I've been listening to this podcast that's just the Sherlock Holmes short
- 16:51stories. I think I've mentioned that I was listening to it before. Um, and I
- 16:55like them and I like the characters and I like the the pros and everything, but
- 16:58I'll say this, he's not clever. They're just ridiculous scenarios with only one
- 17:04possible solution and then he's written to guess what that is. Like, you know
- 17:10what I mean? It's like, okay, well, I couldn't I could I as the reader
- 17:13couldn't have figured this out because he hadn't given me all this information.
- 17:16Yeah. Yeah. That's But you couldn't get away with writing a a mystery like that
- 17:21now. No. No, not at all. Yes. Yeah. That's a frustrating thing is when the
- 17:28answer is just was never available to you. It wasn't there. Yeah. Yeah. He saw
- 17:32something that was never mentioned. That was the Yeah. He just happens to know
- 17:36something cuz he was happened to be at the races on a day this one specific
- 17:40horse came in and that is and you're like, "Okay, well, I couldn't possibly
- 17:43have known that, could I?" M I do like sorry the L that scene where he he
- 17:48figures out who the killer is cuz he does basically does like a puzzle and he
- 17:51goes and so it was you and then that then they're like and then they're like
- 17:55why would she do that? He's like oh I have no idea.
- 17:58Yeah. Yeah. I just I just know that she did it and then Yeah. And then the
- 18:02sergeant's like yeah but we you can't do that. You have we have to have some
- 18:06evidence. and he's like, "Oh, yeah." Yeah.
- 18:13Yes. The um the wife of the brother is quite good. She's cropping up in a few
- 18:19things as well. She is in this great show that I watched last year called Spy
- 18:24Among Friends, which is a true story of
- 18:27um two MI6 agents and they've been best
- 18:32friends for like 30 years and then one day one of them finds out that the other
- 18:37one's a Russian double agent.
- 18:39And he's more upset that he lied to him
- 18:44as a friend than as, you know, an enemy combatant. Yeah. And it's very it's very
- 18:51good. But she's she's an interrogator. She's an like
- 18:55that that would hurt though. Yeah.
- 19:01Yeah. Be like if Luke was suddenly like one of you guys spy.
- 19:06Imagine that. Imagine Luke was like, "Anyway guys, got to go home." Yeah.
- 19:12Yeah. Yeah.
- 19:16It's all been a ruse. Yeah. Don't know what for. Don't know what I'm
- 19:21getting out of you two, but I think we might not be the marks. Might just be
- 19:27the cover. Well, you never know. Yeah. Look, something else I've been
- 19:34watching. If we're just going to list TV, I just finished last night Paradise
- 19:39on Apple TV. This one I do. No. [ __ ] It's not on Apple. It's on Disney. They
- 19:45only watch Apple TV shows that start with the letter S. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 19:48Seance silo shrinking. Oh, you said shrinking. No, Jenn.
- 19:54I haven't watched shrinking. It is good. I do recommend. Okay. You've have said
- 19:59that before and I should give it a try. Um, Mosquito Coast is quite good on on
- 20:05Apple as well. C. That was on there. What? As in S E, not the letter C. C.
- 20:12Yeah. The one with Jason Mamoa. We We can't see. He's blind. Oh, isn't that
- 20:17terrible? or they're all blind or something. Okay. It sounds like a an
- 20:21Might Shyamalan plot. Yeah. Some science fiction thing. I I I haven't watched it.
- 20:27So, fair enough. Um, no. Paradise is on
- 20:31Disney. Uhhuh. Uh, and it's very good. And if I said too much about it, it
- 20:36would be a spoiler, so All right. Watch it. The trailer does a
- 20:41pretty good job of of teasing it without telling you what it is. Um, but I
- 20:46enjoyed it being revealed to me as I was watching the show. So, I'll allow you
- 20:51the same uh experience if you want it. Luke's literally reading about it right
- 20:55now. No, I I've already It's not I don't think it's for me. I guess from the name
- 21:01No, no, no. Paradise. It could be. It could very well be paradise. All right.
- 21:05Paradise is the name of the place they live. The word paradise, you're like, I
- 21:09don't like the vibes. Paradise. American political thriller. That does not sound
- 21:13like No, it's not. It's not an American political thriller. It it it it is a science
- 21:19fiction story wrapped in an American political
- 21:24thriller. Okay. I might look into it.
- 21:28He won't. No.
- 21:33All right. Um, so I speaking science fiction, I started playing a game. Yes.
- 21:38Tell me more. I went on to play Atom Fall cuz that came out yesterday. I also
- 21:43played it yesterday. I'm interested to know what you think because I'm about to finish it.
- 21:50Yeah. I I haven't played for that long. Yeah. Yeah. Will you I was kind of
- 21:55stumped by the when it asked you to choose your difficulty settings. All
- 22:00right. Because Matt I've never come across this before. Usually you just
- 22:04have easy, medium or hard or you know story mode or you know but this this is
- 22:08like there are three elements to this game. Exploration, combat and survival.
- 22:15And so there's like nine combinations of of difficulty where you're like the
- 22:20combat's hard but the survival and the exploration are easy or the
- 22:25exploration's hard but the combat you and I'm like I don't really know. I
- 22:31haven't played the game yet. What I started off with, I started everything
- 22:34on the default settings and then now everything is on the lowest because
- 22:40that's why you finished again. Yeah. Well, no, it's just cuz I got annoyed.
- 22:43That doesn't seem a lot to it. You set the time to But this time doesn't
- 22:48pretend to not be a a short game. Yeah. No, it doesn't. There are there are six
- 22:54endings to this game. M. So once I sort of worked that out, I'm just trying to
- 22:59play through just a very quick one just to get out the way because I hate it
- 23:02because there's choices to make with now these guys will hate me over these
- 23:06people. And what kind of game is it? Is it Sounds like it's got a story at
- 23:10least? Fallout. Fallout without the campness. Yeah, it's a rolled back
- 23:15fallout. That's like I'm enjoying it. Um you can kill people. I only played it
- 23:21for about two hours. Um, but that's a decent amount for me to Yeah, a decent
- 23:27amount for me to just play in one go. So, I've basically I've come out the
- 23:30tunnel and I've like looked around the
- 23:34nearest place. Um, I like it. I like the controls. The combat's
- 23:41uh, you know, satisfying. Something I've seen people complaining about, which I
- 23:44don't get, is people going, "Oh, this looks like a last generation game and
- 23:47stuff." And I looks fine. Yeah, it looks okay to me. Yeah. No, it looks fine to
- 23:53me. I mean, it doesn't it doesn't make you go, "Oh, [ __ ] wow." No, it's not
- 23:57like when I'm playing Assassin's Creed and it's like, "Oh my god, this looks
- 24:00like a picture or anything." But it's not terrible. But no, it really is just
- 24:04a game where you start talking to someone and that can be that person you
- 24:09escape with and that'll give you an achievement. That's one of the endings.
- 24:11And then it's just the only thing I really wish this game had was fast travel.
- 24:16Oh, yeah. Right. Fast travel. It doesn't have any at all. Amazing game. No, I'm
- 24:20not even I've not even opened the map at this point. I'm not even far far enough
- 24:23really in to care about where I am in respect to any anywhere else. Yes.
- 24:27Annoying with the running backwards and forwards, but yeah, I very quickly just
- 24:31turned auto difficulty down cuz I got it's hard to find even ammo is
- 24:35difficult. Yeah. Yes. Like ammo was so sparse. I was like for like an hour I
- 24:41was walking around four bullets and trying to conserve them. Yeah. I had two guns
- 24:47equipped on onto like fast, you know, fast equip one with one each with one
- 24:52bullet in it. Yeah. So that during combat I could quickly switch like at
- 24:58least it shocked a couple of times legitimately made me jump. Yeah, you can
- 25:03bluff. Yeah, you can pull a gun on somebody and then they back down. Yeah.
- 25:06Okay, good. But then their friends walk around the corner and Yeah. Yeah. Then
- 25:10you got to run. Then you pull out four other guns and you bluff with those,
- 25:12too. I don't. But the good thing is if you get a head all these guns got one
- 25:15bullet in it. Who wants style head shot they drop dead sort
- 25:21of like that. Except for the like ghoul things in
- 25:26which case it's um some ones in the
- 25:30tunnel. Yeah. Yeah. I just I died many times and the [ __ ] out of me. I'm not
- 25:36going to go near them every Yeah. [ __ ] Yeah. really quite quite quite
- 25:42scary. I don't know. I reckon give it a go. It is on Game Pass, so I was going
- 25:46to ask on Game Pass. Yeah. Yeah, why not? Yeah, it was either it was either
- 25:49that or um it was either that or go back to
- 25:53uh Chernobyl Stalker. Yeah. Um which I
- 25:58also have but it seems like it would ask a lot more of me and this is just a kind
- 26:04of a fun easy game. I mean, not that it's easy, but it's just easy to play.
- 26:08Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like even if you come back to this game after a little while,
- 26:12it won't take you long to work out what you're doing. Going back to Chernobyl.
- 26:16Yeah, I got to start that again. Yeah, only play that for an hour, but I gota I
- 26:20got to start all over again. I um I was thinking the other day,
- 26:25speaking of game pass games, can I just say one more thing? Of course. The one
- 26:28more thing I don't I didn't like about the game is I have no idea what the
- 26:31story really is. It's cuz you skipped the dialogue always. No, no. Well, the game starts
- 26:37with it does do a bit of a cut scene at the start that hey, there was this power
- 26:42plant. Something went wrong. And then you just wake up and a scientist comes
- 26:47over and goes, "Oh, who are you? Take this key card. I'm going to die
- 26:53now." And then you're on your own. And it's Yeah. There's no customer
- 26:57characterization, no how you got there or anything. It's just you wake up.
- 27:01Yeah. No first first actor is in the vault while you're Yeah. Just going to
- 27:06put this out there. He just said customer characterization, which I love.
- 27:11I think we want to maybe write that down for a potential title. If is in duck is
- 27:15not suitable. Customer characterization. I meant character. I know you meant
- 27:22character customization. That's why I pointed it out. It's only because I love
- 27:26you. It's great. But I don't know. I'm going to I'm going to see if I can have
- 27:30customer characterization as the title in duck as the caption and an image that
- 27:36encapsulates both somehow. Perfect. But yeah, you don't don't even know if
- 27:42you're playing a male or female. So, I just assume I'm playing a female. Of
- 27:45course. Yeah, I assume that because you're a video game transvestite.
- 27:51There's there's a new game coming out soon where you play as a female that I
- 27:57played at least one game all the way through without knowing I was playing a
- 28:01female. Oh, what's that? Metroid. Oh. Oh. Oh, I wanted to mention Metroid
- 28:07actually, but just briefly before that, I was thinking about Indiana Jones just
- 28:11talking about Game Pass. Well, yeah, because they've patched things, right?
- 28:16But there's expansion coming at some point. Oh, correct. cuz I was like, I'd
- 28:20go back and get the rest of the stuff, but then I realized, no, no, no. Let's
- 28:23not do that because you don't want to get sick of that game before the
- 28:25expansion comes out. So, I'm going to wait for that. So, and I meant to ask,
- 28:29does anybody know when that's coming out? No, I don't I don't know what
- 28:32they've said. Uh, Giants DLC,
- 28:38did you guys see the [ __ ]
- 28:41um weird control spin-off slash the
- 28:46first person thing? Yeah, that looks bizarre. Who was asking for that?
- 28:52Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, multiplayer. I just That was weird. I think it's odd
- 28:58that they're putting their money on Control 2 when I don't think Control is
- 29:03as popular a property as other properties they have in the Remedy
- 29:08verse. It could be just it's an easier game to make, I suppose. So cuz I don't
- 29:14even though there was a lot to control 2, it was a lot of backtracking. So
- 29:19reusing of assets, maps, maybe.
- 29:23Yes, true. Yeah, I see. Yeah. Okay. Don't know when it's coming out. No
- 29:28specific release date, but it's got to be soon. Yeah. All right. There's a
- 29:32question coming this week for Avowed, but I don't care. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm
- 29:37I'm out of it. I've got a segue from that, too. But you did mention Metroid
- 29:42and earlier you mentioned people complaining about how Adam Fall does not
- 29:46look like a looks like a previous gen game. Yeah. Did you watch the Metroid 4
- 29:51trailer? Yeah. I'm excited about it, but it
- 29:55definitely does look like a a retro game
- 29:59of sorts at this at this point. It Yeah. Yeah, that's true. Not in a bad way,
- 30:05just in a way that I was just like ah kind I mean it just looks like Metroid
- 30:08Prime. Yeah. Yeah. Like Yeah. So it reminded me a little bit of No Man's Sky
- 30:15as well as scanning things and Oh,
- 30:23hello. Go for dad.
- 30:29Good morning. Are you there? It's just creepy that
- 30:36she's just breathing into it. What are you
- 30:44doing? Are you Are you there?
- 30:48Can I play with my super?
- 30:51Yes, you can. Can you get them?
- 30:58[Laughter]
- 31:02Can I help you? What do you need?
- 31:08Do you need me to get them for you? She's made that perfectly clear.
- 31:12Okay, I'll be there in one minute. Hang on one sec. Okay,
- 31:19Matt's house is officially too big. Yeah.
- 31:34[Laughter]
- 31:38I'll be back in a minute. I'm sorry. I'll do more research into DLC for
- 31:44Indiana Jones. I'd be interested in playing that. You've got to finish it. I've got to
- 31:50finish it. I It so annoys me that I was really enjoying that game, but then I
- 31:55when I got to that game break and it took them what, six weeks, two months to
- 31:59fix. You're actually pretty close to the end cuz you're in Thailand, right? Yeah.
- 32:03Yeah. Like Sam. Yeah. You not much after that. But yeah, it was just so annoying
- 32:09that it just going back just has the same magic did.
- 32:15Yeah. Especially since I've considered replaying it just for the fun of it and
- 32:20doing it slightly differently. But actually, it's the
- 32:24Thailand bits that I think, oh, but all those [ __ ] caverns and [ __ ] that make
- 32:30me. So it's not like if you were still in Cairo or somewhere and you were just
- 32:34going back and doing picking up there, it might feel a bit easier to get back
- 32:38into. But yeah, when you're on the boat and got around like that and Yeah, it
- 32:43was a lot. It asked a lot of you. It was great, but it it just it Yeah, you only
- 32:47want to do that once. Yes. Yeah. And if I'd stopped, I'd think I'd find it very
- 32:52hard to get back in. But no, I really think the DLC I reckon will be You know
- 32:57what? It might I reckon it'll come out in April. April's very release on PlayStation 5 in
- 33:03April. April's day after tomorrow. Don't forget. Yeah, but I did
- 33:09say we would know in with if it was coming within four weeks surely. I don't
- 33:14know. Wait, what did you say was coming in April? It's going to PlayStation 5 in
- 33:19April. Oh, yeah. That's true. PlayStation 5 on the 7th of April. 17th
- 33:23of April. So that might be a bit of a hey, PlayStation get that, but then we
- 33:28get the DLC. I think they're more likely to hold off
- 33:34even if it was ready so that they could launch the DLC
- 33:40simultaneously with Xbox and PlayStation like in like 4 months. I know, but it's
- 33:44been a long time. And look, this came out in December. Yeah, it would be good
- 33:49to keep it to top us up and keep us going. Yeah. Throwback. Super Kitties.
- 33:54You got them? Got them. Yep. But yeah, waiting six months for because I know um
- 34:00the Cyber Punk DLC. Yes. That took too long and I have a hard time. While it's
- 34:06great, it was a hard time getting back into it because I had to remember how to
- 34:11play it. Yeah. Yeah, that's fair. Remember what my skills were and how
- 34:15everything but that it came out. If they if they brought out Skyrim DLC right
- 34:20now, I'd drop everything. Dive right back in.
- 34:23Yeah. Yeah. Scar's a bit easier though.
- 34:29[Laughter]
- 34:36See you. Yeah. See you. Okay. I'm coming. Tell her. Yeah. Tell
- 34:40her you're on your way, mate. Come on. 104. 104.
- 34:48All right. What's something quick we could talk about while he's not here?
- 34:51Yeah. Oh, he'll hate us if we talk about Rust without him. He'll hate us if we
- 34:56talk about Rust news. Odyssey without him. Um,
- 35:01would he care about Snow White? I don't care if he does. No one cares
- 35:06about Snow White. I'll say this though, actual audience
- 35:12score for this seems to be far higher
- 35:15than critic score really. And I think because critics now aren't just people
- 35:22that, you know, review for the Chicago Tribune, you know, it's just any, you
- 35:27know, anyone with a YouTube channel and stuff and they were going to hate this
- 35:30anyway. Yes. Like I listened to Critical Drinker review of this right during the
- 35:35week and he spent months saying that Rachel Ziggler or whatever her name is,
- 35:41uh, who I only know from this movie, but maybe she's in other stuff. I I don't know.
- 35:46um but how she's poisonous and you know she's ruining the movie and and he was
- 35:51like I'll admit it she was actually the only decent thing about the movie was
- 35:55her performance. Okay. See I don't know nothing about her. I don't know everyone
- 35:59hates her for some reason. She's very lefty. She
- 36:06she supports Palestine which is fair enough. Everybody does. But in
- 36:10Hollywood, where a lot of people are Jewish, being openly supportive of
- 36:15Palestine gives the impression that you're you're anti-Israel. And you know,
- 36:19it's it's a bit too political for a leading lady. Plus, she went out and
- 36:23said a whole bunch of stuff about how she said, "I've refused to sing the
- 36:29Someday My Prince will come song because, you know, my Snow White don't
- 36:34need no man." and uh and said, you know, "Oh, I actually
- 36:39think it's gross that he that he kisses me while I'm asleep." And you know, why
- 36:44you agree to being Snow White? Yeah. I mean, it does. Yeah.
- 36:50Like it cuz don't get me wrong, it is
- 36:53weird. Yeah. This guy that you never met comes across someone who's looks dead
- 36:59and he goes, "I'm going to get in on that." I've missed something. You have? Yeah,
- 37:05unfortunately we're talking about Snow White. It's far more wholesome than it
- 37:09sounds, right? But then then but she's not doing herself any favors now cuz she
- 37:14like she tweeted the other day, "Oh, I went I'm went to see it. I'm literally
- 37:18the only person in this cinema and people like it's not a good sign.
- 37:23Yeah, it's not doing well." No, but I don't think the lowest rated movie ever,
- 37:28I think, at the moment. But they also they had uh like they spent a lot of
- 37:32money on re-shoots because of all the you know like first they had to recast
- 37:37the dwarves cuz they cast dwarves and then somebody was like you can't cast
- 37:41dwarves and so they had to redo all that with CGI dwarves. Why can I not cast dwarves?
- 37:47Cuz it's exploit exploitative. I don't know. Cuz they're not dwarf dwarves. They're
- 37:53my Yeah, they're magical creatures. Yeah. Like it's like maybe that people
- 37:56were like apparently they don't even use the dwarf in the movie.
- 38:02H height challenged. But yeah, like but in saying this, this
- 38:07was never a movie I was going to go see. God, no. No. Even if and I'll be honest,
- 38:13I don't I I've watched I watched the Aladdin live action remake. I think
- 38:17that's the only one I've seen. I haven't seen the Beauty and the Beast or the
- 38:20Little Aladdin one. I didn't realize it was [ __ ] garbage, mate. It's [ __ ]
- 38:25Oh, the one with Will Smith. Yes, that's right. That would probably be the only
- 38:30one that I would I was sort of close to seeing because I remember that was the
- 38:34only real cartoon that I remember. Guy Richie directed it for starters. Yeah,
- 38:38but it's hard to watch Aladdin now. It's a bit racist. It's a bit racist. It's
- 38:43not that hard to watch it. We We have watched it. You know what I
- 38:47quite liked? I quite liked Mufasa the um Oh, yeah. the recent uh Lion King
- 38:53prequel. Quite good. We watched The Lion King and then the Lion King 2, the old
- 38:59animated Lion King 2. This is Lion King 2 in a there's this weird
- 39:04reccon thing where there's like other lions who were following Scar.
- 39:10Okay. And they were like got exiled and I'm like that wasn't in the movie. Well,
- 39:15this Mufasa movie does this complete retcon where Scar and Mufasa aren't even
- 39:21real brothers. And Scar is the son of a king, but Mufasa is an adopted son. So,
- 39:26he is meant to be the king. But Mufasa was just a better leader and the people
- 39:32followed him instead, which is why he was like, "Give me my throne. It's me."
- 39:36I tell you though, the music in those [ __ ] movies is the the best musical
- 39:42score in any Disney or any other [ __ ] movie. Who did that music, dude? Remind
- 39:47me. Oh, I think it might have been um I think it might have been
- 39:51uh I was going to make a joke, but I can't I was I can't Yeah, I was going to
- 39:57say the name of someone we know, but I'm not I'm backing out of it. It's Hans,
- 40:02but I know it's hard. I've got no joke. I've got no joke, so I'll just say it.
- 40:06Yeah, fine. No, but it's funny because everyone remembers Hans for [ __ ]
- 40:10Inception and Yeah. Interstellar stuff. It's like actually not even Gladiator
- 40:15these days. Oh, yeah. True. Batman is the one that he's known for most now, I
- 40:20think. Yeah. Before I to know, sorry, I know you guys
- 40:27had to move on. Metroid 4 looks good. Uh, you got psychic powers apparently in
- 40:31this. Looks good. Just Yeah. The only thing is that just I was like, oh, they
- 40:35didn't kind of like fancy it up or anything really. Yeah, I guess they must
- 40:40have had a meeting where they were like, we can't make it too different. And
- 40:44also, it's on the Switch, which I guess not that the Switch is great, but it's
- 40:47not like like a, you know, pushing the limits of graphics capabilities except
- 40:53for the cloud. The cloud games on the Switch are are pretty impressive. Yeah.
- 40:58Nintendo would do those first party games like that, though. Yeah, cuz the
- 41:03um I played both the latest Resident Evils like seven and eight on the Switch
- 41:09and they are [ __ ] incredible. Yeah, right. But I reckon they may have looked
- 41:16to try and make it look newer or something, but sometimes that looks
- 41:20wrong. That's that could be true, too. Yeah, cuz Metroid does have a look.
- 41:26Yeah. And people get upset when you change things. Think of Monkey Monkey Island. How
- 41:32people lost their [ __ ] over that. That's a great game though. Mhm.
- 41:39Yeah. Yeah. But people I just different.
- 41:42I The third Monkey Island is in some ways my favorite and I know that's
- 41:48blasphemy because it's not he wasn't involved Ron, but I love that game.
- 41:54I It's a funny game too. It's just Yeah. went a different kind of direction in
- 42:00some Yeah. But all all the Monkey Islands were different enough that I
- 42:04don't understand why people are freaking out about the most recent,
- 42:08you know, it's all just updated in a way. It's like walk around and walk move
- 42:15with the stick. Yeah. Yeah. And but I mean it was a great game. Who gives a
- 42:20[ __ ] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and as Ron Gilbert said, I already made the game
- 42:26that you're talking about. It's called [ __ ] Secret of Monkey Island. And
- 42:29then I made another one, Secret of Monkey Island 2. Play those. Yeah.
- 42:36People don't like making the same game every time. They do like to mix it up.
- 42:39And if you want [ __ ] pixel art, point and click, play [ __ ] um a billion
- 42:45others that are out now. What's What's the No, no, but that he made Files
- 42:49River. [ __ ] great game. Yes. Great
- 42:52game. Mhm. That is a in a way the new Monkey Island is actually quite
- 42:59um simple in certain ways and Thimbleweed Park is the opposite. It's
- 43:04like if you don't know adventure games and you're not into puzzles, Thimbleweed
- 43:08Park is going to be [ __ ] annoying cuz it's very puzzly and complicated and
- 43:14Yeah. Like it doesn't hold your hand. It's like Yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 43:21And like Yeah. Like I like newspaper place. You just got to [ __ ] walk
- 43:25around reading all the newspapers and stuff like it makes you work for it.
- 43:29Yeah. Um you know what's not a good game and this will surprise nobody is the
- 43:34Peppa Pig game for Xbox.
- 43:37Um which Luke's played it. I have. I enjoyed it
- 43:44for start. I mean it's very easy to get a achievements because you you just let
- 43:48the game run and and the achievements clock up. But it's literally just
- 43:52walking between cutscenes. There's no actual game mechanic whatsoever.
- 43:57The Bluey game's a little like that. I guess you collect stuff and you walk
- 44:01around, but the blue game was very simple. Harper wanted to play games today and I
- 44:06put that on and then she got bored of it so quickly. Really? So quickly. Yeah.
- 44:11That we ended up just playing um more of um Link to the Past, which she loves. Yeah.
- 44:18Um, and it's it's, you know, it's a great 30-year-old game. And yeah, my
- 44:24favorite game. It's the first game I ever finished. Very good game. I
- 44:28finished. Yeah, I haven't finished it yet. We we may finish it, but we don't
- 44:31play it consistently enough to to finish. Or maybe the first I'd finished
- 44:35stuff like Sonic and stuff, but that was the first game where
- 44:38Yes, with a story. With a story. Yeah. Not just run to the end of the screen,
- 44:43jump Sonic. I didn't I never finished Sonic. I'm going to go back. I want to go back
- 44:50and finish all the Sonics. Yeah, this is a thing. I went back and
- 44:55finished um Wonder Boy like a couple years ago. Just [ __ ] How is that?
- 44:59That's a game I've never finished. I mean, it doesn't like there's no [ __ ]
- 45:03end cuts scene or anything. You just, you know, it's just four levels on
- 45:08repeat get harder. Yeah. But I just wanted to be able to look my 10-year-old
- 45:12self in the in the eye and say, "You did it. You did it. You did it."
- 45:15further than just being on the skateboard. Yeah, that's actually I
- 45:18avoid the skateboard. I hate the skateboard now. When I was a kid, if I
- 45:21didn't get that skateboard, I would kill myself and go back to the start. But um now
- 45:31I can't find Is she in the closet?
- 45:37I don't know. Have you looked? Have you looked?
- 45:46I found
- 45:49him. How's the closet door opening? Sorry, guys. You thought this was a good
- 45:56idea, didn't you? This was her idea. Oh,
- 45:59insisted that I kick this off. Awesome. That's great. Promise. I'm going to
- 46:05guess it was in the closet. Yeah, I'm going to guess it was in the
- 46:08closet as well. Oh, Lambie is definitely in the closet. Oh, Lambie. Doc
- 46:13McStuffins's Lambie. Oh,
- 46:16yeah. Um, games avowed. Pillars of Eternity is in the same world. Pillars
- 46:23of Eternity. I don't know if you guys talked about this while I was no out.
- 46:26Uh, Pillars of Eternity is getting a patch, a new update. It's 10-year-old
- 46:30game, which is a [ __ ] great game. It's getting turn-based combat. Yes, I
- 46:34saw this. I love that. I'll [ __ ] replay the game. Like, I prefer
- 46:38turn-based combat. Yes. No, I don't know. I still like
- 46:42turn-based. I know they've got away from it from a lot of games like they really
- 46:45have as a staple, but I enjoy it so much better more. Yeah, same. So, I'll I'll
- 46:51replay this game. Well, I mean, you can certainly you think about it, you can be
- 46:55very strategic. Yeah, I probably won't replay it because I don't have time, but
- 46:59I it made me want to. I guess that's the But just to be clear, they're not
- 47:02remaking the game. They're just patching the old game so that you Yeah. It's a
- 47:05It's kind of a They said it's a um a kind of a beta trial feature of
- 47:12they've Yeah, cuz the game wasn't designed that way. So, they said, you
- 47:15know, your mileage may vary on it. But um when I was a kid, turn-based used to
- 47:22frustrate me though, like a little kid. Yeah. Like the first time I started playing the
- 47:26um the uh the AD and D Mhm. video games they
- 47:32came out with on AmIgga, I was like, "Oh, don't they just run at me?" I
- 47:37[ __ ] smash them when you know I had to really No, I like reorient cuz the
- 47:42game this I think Troka is the same. This is Pillars of Sony's Obsidian and
- 47:47then if you trace the history back they did like Boulders Gate and that but then
- 47:50at a certain point they made Arcanum. Troka made that game, Arkan. We've
- 47:55talked about it before, I think. Yeah. Um, so I meant to check that out and I
- 47:58never did. That game you could choose between real time or turn-based. And I
- 48:04think actually you could switch while you're playing, but I always put it in
- 48:08turn-based. It's just always been my preference because Arinum A R C A
- 48:14NUM between uh of Arinum of Steam and Magic Obscurer. I think the subtitle.
- 48:20Yes, this looks very good. Yeah, it's a great game.
- 48:25Um, yeah, it's about a world where everybody's been using magic, but now
- 48:30technologies been developed and they're finding that the technology makes magic
- 48:34not work and vice versa. Like you can't have both. Like they
- 48:39interfere with each other. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Like if you're a wizard and you
- 48:44start using a gun, your spells go wrong kind of thing. It's like Yeah. It's
- 48:49cool. This owes This interface owes a lot to Diablo. Sure. Yeah. Which is fine
- 48:56by me. You're going to copy copy from the best. Yeah. Yeah. But it's got Yeah.
- 49:01this opening cinematic where you're a passenger on a on a big blimp like a
- 49:05like a like a steam and then these orcs in there orcs in [ __ ] fighter planes
- 49:12come and shoot the thing down and I was just like what is this? It's great. That
- 49:17reminds me I because I've still got Humble Bundle
- 49:22and I'm yes still refuse. I still every time I go to cancel they go you're on
- 49:26this really good deal you can't do it but I remember this month they gave me a
- 49:28key for Home World 3 so I'm actually going to play a PC game for the first
- 49:33time in a long time cuz I love Home World. Now is that a bargain considering you
- 49:38don't you pay every month and you've not gotten a game you want in a very long
- 49:42time. Well I it's the first time I've looked at it in a very long time. I need
- 49:46to start giving away more keys. Patreon people, email me. I'll
- 49:51send you a key. That's the [ __ ] system, is it? Yeah.
- 49:57Reach out to any way you can. I'll give you a key. And how are you going to
- 50:01verify that they're Patreon people or I trust people. You could Yeah, just Well,
- 50:06you got to give him some kind of clue in the in the afterparty. Yeah. Wink wink.
- 50:10Just email Luke and he'll give you stuff. Yeah. Yeah. He doesn't. He
- 50:13doesn't know or care if you're a patron. But do become a patron, but he doesn't
- 50:18care. So, just be clear. If I buy it right now, I'll give
- 50:23you something. Aranum is worth I think so. Yeah. If you
- 50:29make sure it'll run. Hold on. What are you getting it on?
- 50:33Steam. Let me see if I've got a key for it.
- 50:42I'll look into it for you. I mean, if it was on Switch, I might get it on Switch,
- 50:47but I doubt it. I Yeah, I don't think it's I'll look into it later. Playable
- 50:51on Switch. Yeah, it's like an old PC, you know, like Yeah, you need a
- 50:58mouse and possibly you need a keyboard, too. Well, I got both of those things right
- 51:04here. Let me let me know, Luke, cuz I've just
- 51:08logged in. So, I'm going to click add to look. I got to go back
- 51:15months because I'm so bad at logging into this. Oh, Vampire Masquerade
- 51:20Bloodlines. The original. Why are you recommending that? Oh, Activision. Oh, this is by
- 51:27Activision, is it? Oh, okay. I didn't need any convincing. Yeah. Yeah, it's a
- 51:32Troker. It's uh But yeah, I think it's like the team that made Fallout 1 and
- 51:36two, actually. Okay. Yeah. Right. I mean, yeah. Right.
- 51:42Yeah, Troka. It is too. Yeah. It's 10 bucks. Buy it. Yeah. Okay. If I
- 51:48find it, I'll give it to someone else. Yeah, I'm happy to pay $10.
- 51:54Yeah, I think it's worth it in real time. Great
- 51:59game. Um, speaking of games, there's a game that you guys apparently aren't
- 52:04going to get to play coming out. Silent Hill F. I actually was really looking
- 52:11forward to this. It looks cool from the trailer, right? Yeah. Sorry, I'm just uh
- 52:15I actually got a shock that it's been 13 years since the last actual entry. I
- 52:21know. Is that true? Silh Hill 4. Um I forget what it was. I was reading
- 52:26in the article. Um but yeah, it's been 13 years.
- 52:30It can't be Silent Hill 4. I think is it must have been longer since Silent Hill
- 52:344 came out. But yeah. Yeah. But anyway. Yeah. So this new one has apparently
- 52:38been refused classification in Australia. For people who aren't in
- 52:40Australia, what that means is you can't sell it. Yeah.
- 52:46So it's going to be something and that usually means drug use because they've
- 52:51gotten a little bit better in drug use. It's used to be um even sex is okay.
- 52:55Normally now it's sort of um
- 52:58grape grape grape grape. Yeah. Yep. That's why Fantasmagoria got banned back
- 53:05in the day. cuz there's a scene where her husband
- 53:10Mhm. does that does has a grape. Yeah.
- 53:12Um but also game and yeah, drug use isn't something that'll get you banned.
- 53:18It's if it's a showing drug use as being good. So it gives you a positive
- 53:23positive Yeah, that's right. Positive effects of drug use. Yeah.
- 53:29Yeah. So that's a bummer. Um unless they change whatever. The the other thing is
- 53:34that apparently it's unusual about this is that they haven't said specifically
- 53:37why. Um apparently you can submit a request to find out why if you want to
- 53:43know. Yeah, look that's it's not they haven't said why to the developers. I
- 53:47believe that's the case or whatever. No, no, you just send it to I've done this
- 53:50before. Um all you have to do is you send it to the Australian board and go,
- 53:54"Hey, why did you do this?" And you back and go, "Here's the reason." That's not
- 53:57unusual. They do this. They don't announce most of the time. They don't
- 54:01Okay. I thought some I think this article or something else said that they
- 54:05actually normally the information is just made available if you want it. This
- 54:09time they just didn't say. Yeah, but I think it's more I think sometimes the
- 54:13other time where they're getting new information from is the developer coming
- 54:16out. Yeah, we've been this has been banned for this reason. This is a shame
- 54:21because I've been watching this one develop and this one looked very good
- 54:24and I was getting very psyched to be playing a new Silent Hill. Don't worry,
- 54:28I know how you can get it and play it on the Xbox. No problem. Get me to buy it
- 54:33and send it to you. Yep. Or does that work? Just No. Or we just
- 54:38get Matt to buy us some gift cards. You change the region of your console to
- 54:42America. Enter the gift card on an alt account. Yeah. Buy it. Make that alt
- 54:49account your home console. Move back to Australia with that installed and you're
- 54:52done. Move back to Australia. I am way out of date with Silent Hill because
- 54:58Silent Hill Downpour was the last one on the 360. I've never even heard of it.
- 55:04Daniel licked the music for it. The guy did sound did not lick anything.
- 55:09He died. Daniel licked it. Oh, because of that. Yeah, I guess so. The game got
- 55:14banned in Australia and he was like, "Fuck you." No. Um, and then Silent Hill Homecoming,
- 55:21which I've also not played, was uh banned in Australia too till they Oh,
- 55:26does it say why that was uh similarly banned, but then edited and released in
- 55:32a censored This is why I call [ __ ] on this article. It was similarly
- 55:36banned. We don't know why the first one, this was banned, but similar to this
- 55:39one. No. Well, being banned is the similarity, I think, in that sentence.
- 55:44There's different reasons for being banned. They could they were banned.
- 55:48They were both banned. I think that's what they mean. But I Well, this Silent
- 55:52Hill Downpaw was not reviewed. Well, no.
- 55:57No, it was not. This was This was going to be the big comeback. Are they
- 56:04still Activision Collection 54? The good thing is now with the Xbox as being
- 56:10there's no reg lock anymore. So, you can very easily just order this overseas and
- 56:13you've got it. H I'll let you try and let me know if it
- 56:18works. No, I meant a physical copy. Luke, should I play? All right.
- 56:24Assassin's Creed Shadows. I want to It looks good. Looks really good. I'm
- 56:30enjoying it. Um it is a little bit It's different to Bajala. It's more like
- 56:36um what was the other ones before that? There was Origins Odyssey and
- 56:41Origins. No different to that as well. Oh, the world's different. The the way
- 56:47you the way you find missions is different. It's it's it's different, but I'm
- 56:52enjoying it. I I would play it. If you're not that if you want to try it
- 56:56out, do a trial of Ubisoft Plus for a
- 56:59month. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay. Do I get a free month? I don't know if you
- 57:05do. Just give me a free month, Luke. I I can't give you a free month. Son of a
- 57:11[ __ ] I would if I could. Why are you doing this?
- 57:15All right. I just pay for mine.
- 57:19Oh, you can get Fantasmagoria. Yeah. 1495 right now. There you go. On
- 57:24GOG? No, on Steam. On Steam. I've got it on GOG, I'm pretty sure. I want to play
- 57:29that. It's Oh, no. No. The reason why you get it on Steam is because PC titles
- 57:35aren't rated the same as consoles. Yeah.
- 57:40Yes. Get it now. How much do I Made Redemption? Oh man, I loved this game.
- 57:45Oh yeah, $10. I'm going to put it in my wish list. Maybe. Maybe one day. Maybe
- 57:51someone will buy it for you. Actually, no. I think I'm pretty sure I
- 57:55do have a key for Vampire Masquerade. Oh, you do? I'm pretty sure I do.
- 58:01Interesting. Let me have a look. Just amassing these keys. Yeah, I am. Here you go.
- 58:08Um, Legend of Zelda during the this kathuffle about the
- 58:14Switch 2, Nintendo just announced that The Legend of Zelda live action movie
- 58:20will be released in March 2027. And everyone was like, "What?" Yeah, that's
- 58:24happening. So, yeah, just in there's an app that you can get. I think it's called
- 58:30Nintendo today that uh if you want to keep up to date on the Switch 2 because
- 58:34there's a Switch 2 uh you know announcement thing, Nintendo
- 58:38Direct next week, which is going to have more info. There was no Switch 2 stuff
- 58:41in the Nintendo Direct the other day that had Metroid and all that in it. Um
- 58:44and then they said, "Yeah, get this app if you want news." And then in there was
- 58:48just, "Oh, by the way, Legend of Zelda live action movie March 2027."
- 58:52Okay. Yeah. I do not think Zelda movie is going to be good. I just I just
- 58:59can't. Live action, too. Not like the Mario one. I mean, the tone of it would
- 59:04be different anyway. But yeah, but how your going to be mute?
- 59:11Is it? Well, Link doesn't talk. Well, when I'm
- 59:16Link, he doesn't talk. He swears when he he gets beaten up. But um
- 59:23yeah, Link doesn't talk, does he? Or have they started making
- 59:28Yeah, that's all he all he said his entire life. That's what he ejaculates.
- 59:33Orgasms constantly. Yeah, it's his kink getting hit. Maybe it's just the way I
- 59:38play the game. Imagine that. Oh, duck. Imagine a barbar like imagine your kink
- 59:43was getting hit and then you were like, "Fuck it. I'm just going to be a [ __ ]
- 59:46adventure fighter." Yeah. And then everyone's like, "I don't want to fight
- 59:50that guy." [ __ ] not him.
- 59:56Um, so yeah, no trailer, no Oh, no cast, nothing. Director director of one of the
- 1:00:03Planet of the Apes movies, but there are so many of them now that Oh, is that
- 1:00:06true? I didn't know that. There you go. I haven't I haven't even seen the last one.
- 1:00:12I I haven't seen the one. I've seen the one the last the one that came after the
- 1:00:17Wahberg one. There was a Mark Wahberg one. The Tim Burton one. Yep.
- 1:00:24Oh, no, no, no, no, no. And then there was the other one that had Franco in it.
- 1:00:29Yeah, that's the Franco. Forget the Mark part six of the Mark. Yeah, no, no. When
- 1:00:35I say forget it, what I mean is it's not part of that. Yeah, it's not cannon
- 1:00:39series. No, I was just trying to remember who was in it. Yeah, it's
- 1:00:41Franco Franco. These these get this um I've heard they're good. Andy Circus.
- 1:00:47That's right. They're excellent. The Franco's the worst of them all. And it's
- 1:00:50excellent. I don't know why I haven't seen them. It's just same. Is it that I
- 1:00:54don't want to or it's just this hasn't come up? There's too many now and like
- 1:00:59can they can they really be that different from one another at this
- 1:01:01point? You actually don't know which I'd have to look. I off the top of my head I
- 1:01:05wouldn't know which one to watch first. So yeah.
- 1:01:10Yeah. Cuz they're all generically titled Rise of the Planet of the Apes Planet of
- 1:01:13the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Yeah. Which which comes first?
- 1:01:17Yeah. War or the Dawn or the Rice? Or the egg? Egg of the Planet of the Apes?
- 1:01:22chicken or or the ape.
- 1:01:28Um, there's a trailer for Rust. Yes, the
- 1:01:34Rust movie. And in fact, yeah, I watched it just before the show. Anyone in it?
- 1:01:40Well, here's the thing. Is there is there is there is there a scene where
- 1:01:44Alec Baldwin holds a gun pointing directly down the camera and the the
- 1:01:48lens just shatters? Yes, but it is conspicuously absent throughout the
- 1:01:53entire trailer. And then the very very last shot is of him in that church
- 1:01:58drawing the gun and then it cuts to the the credit block. What
- 1:02:04you think that was intentional? I can't imagine it wasn't.
- 1:02:10It's gross to say, but it's free marketing in a way to remind people of
- 1:02:15that. Yeah, cuz at first I was like, why didn't they just change the name of this
- 1:02:17[ __ ] movie? And then I was like, well, because why would you have seen
- 1:02:21it? [ __ ] famous. I might not have watched this. Yeah. The thing is, I'm
- 1:02:25probably still not going to watch this. I'll watch it. I'm not going to go to
- 1:02:28cinema for it. I'll watch it when it comes out on whatever when I when it's
- 1:02:34on Tortuga. Tortuga just means turtle, you know?
- 1:02:40Just putting that out there. Yeah. When it's on a turtle. when a turtle comes in
- 1:02:45with a Blu-ray perched on its shell. Oh, have you seen this? So, um, Warner
- 1:02:52Brothers DVDs that they were selling in like early 2000s were getting this like
- 1:02:56disc rot. They're actually replacing them. What? Really? But they're not
- 1:03:01replacing them with the same movie evidently. They're just whatever you get. So,
- 1:03:07you'll send it off to go, "Hey, I got disc." And they'll go, "Great." and
- 1:03:12they'll throw a random DVD and send it back to you. That's [ __ ] stupid.
- 1:03:16Well, I did see the reason for that is stupid, but it makes some sense in that
- 1:03:21the um they don't have the rights to some of them anymore, which is that same
- 1:03:25thing with like the whole thing's a mess. This actually,
- 1:03:29you know, we talk about how you should buy physical media because at least they
- 1:03:32apparently not. Apparently that doesn't [ __ ] matter. Well, yeah. DVDs I was
- 1:03:36when this will keep up. Evelyn DVDs are meant to last like 30 to 100 years,
- 1:03:42right? So, that's a pretty 100 years is a long time, but we're coming up 30
- 1:03:46years on a lot of them. I was going to say, yeah, I'm going have to dig that
- 1:03:49box of DVDs out of the basement and see if any of them are disintegrating.
- 1:03:54Cuz I think people do talk about it like, I've bought this on on disc,
- 1:03:58therefore I will have it forever. But apparently that's not the case. And you
- 1:04:03know what? If you if it falls apart, they're not going to give it to you
- 1:04:06again if they It's the same way. It's a little different, I guess. Like, if they
- 1:04:10lose the rights to something on streaming, they just take it away from
- 1:04:13you now. Yeah. But like DVD, if it disintegrates, you just won't get a new
- 1:04:19one. The thing is, that's why you need to buy it in DVD and then rip it. Back
- 1:04:23it up. Rip it. Just about It's about collecting as well. And that is gone.
- 1:04:29Like that's why we like to have DVDs is because I've watched this movie and now
- 1:04:32it goes on the shelf of movies I have watched. And that's why people write
- 1:04:36letter box reviews and stuff like that is because they need to keep track of
- 1:04:40it. And even like within Xbox, right? I was looking through my, you know, do you
- 1:04:45ever do this? Do you ever just go into your library of owned games to just look
- 1:04:48at games you've owned? Like I just And then I was looking and I'm like, "Oh,
- 1:04:53look. It's it's Far Cry, you know, three, four, five. Wait, wait a minute.
- 1:04:57I own I own more than that. And then I'm like, "Oh, no way. I own physical copies
- 1:05:01of them, but now they're not in this library, but these ones aren't in that
- 1:05:06library." Like, and that annoys me. Mhm. Yeah.
- 1:05:12Yeah. My my I think my Xbox library is getting up to like a thousand or
- 1:05:15something. It's sad. Games or movies? Games.
- 1:05:21If both could share them and loan them out to friends and Hey, remember when
- 1:05:26the Xbox One came out, Xbox Microsoft wanted me to share my games? The
- 1:05:31internet like that idea and and we the audience begged them not to do it. Yep.
- 1:05:36I really like movies anywhere. All pay that um service where you can buy it and
- 1:05:40it just appears in all your different things. But it bugs me some movies
- 1:05:44aren't on it. Like for example, Terminator 2 I own on I think I bought
- 1:05:50it on Amazon and it's just not part of Movies anywhere. So right if I look on
- 1:05:56my Apple TV, just go into my movies, it's not in there and I have to think,
- 1:06:00oh [ __ ] like and I'm sure I mean everybody has this problem right now
- 1:06:03because where wherever you buy it, you have to keep track of them. But it's
- 1:06:06just annoying that some of them some of them on here, some of them are on
- 1:06:09Google. I've bought them on Google before cuz it's cheaper there sometimes
- 1:06:11and it's just like [ __ ] was all in the same place. So I can just see all of
- 1:06:15them. That's why I just stick to only get only place I buy movies is on Xbox.
- 1:06:21Yeah. Just that way I know where they are on your Xbox. Yeah. On my Xbox. But
- 1:06:28they're not from Tortuga.
- 1:06:32They're all in my Plex library. I uh I watched two Schwarzenegger movies
- 1:06:37this this week. Did you go camel in any of them? No, I didn't. But I do love
- 1:06:43that movie. So we know which movie you watch Con and the Barbarian. I didn't
- 1:06:46watch Conan and the Barbarian. Although I will because I've I watched last week
- 1:06:51I watched it. It [ __ ] it's so good.
- 1:06:54It the writing it has no right to be
- 1:06:58written that well. You know this this you can trust like it's just [ __ ] D.
- 1:07:04Like it's [ __ ] such a good movie. But um I'm I'm going to watch all of the old
- 1:07:09Anie Annie movies again because like I watched some of his bodybuilding dockos
- 1:07:14and stuff last week and I was like now I want to watch these movies. I'm not
- 1:07:18necessarily watching in any order. I watched one the other night and I've
- 1:07:22always known that I liked this movie but when I was watching it I actually
- 1:07:25thought to myself this is one of my favorite movies ever and that is
- 1:07:31Predator. Oh yeah. Like that is such a good movie. It's fantastic. It's
- 1:07:37a great action movie, but it's also a great science fiction movie. Yeah. And
- 1:07:44and just that the the the misdirection of they they think
- 1:07:50they're there for one thing, but the CIA has a secret plan. They're actually
- 1:07:53there for something, but the [ __ ] alien thing has nothing to do with any
- 1:07:57of that. Yes. Like that's just a shitty coincidence for these guys. Like it's
- 1:08:03it's so good. And the scene where they just go down the rainforest, the jungle.
- 1:08:09Yeah. Just because you think when he's shooting and he comes and he walks up
- 1:08:14next to him, you think he's going to go, "Hold your fire." Like, "Calm the [ __ ]
- 1:08:17down." He just shoots as well. And then the other, "Fuck it. I guess we're all
- 1:08:22just shooting into the [ __ ] woods." Yeah. So good. There's one scene where
- 1:08:28they where they take the camp where for some reason they felt it necessary for
- 1:08:32Arie to have not one but two corny oneliners. But if you ignore those Did
- 1:08:38he say stick around in that one? No. Yeah. Stick around. And then and then
- 1:08:42there's I don't know something else. But um that's Commando where he kicks the
- 1:08:47guy under the pipe. Just let off some steam. You're a farmer. He has a couple of
- 1:08:53acres. Um, but other than that, it is the tightest
- 1:08:58script that you could imagine. But strangely, I watched another movie
- 1:09:03called Stay Hungry, right? Okay. Um,
- 1:09:07which is if you don't count Hercules in New York, which hadn't come out yet,
- 1:09:13Stay Hungry is actually his first movie. Okay. And he plays a bodybuilder from
- 1:09:17Austria. And it's just this classic '7s movie where the plot is just an
- 1:09:22investment banker wants to buy a gym because he wants to knock down a whole
- 1:09:27city block, but he starts working out of the gym and getting to know the people
- 1:09:30at the gym and then becomes friends and then doesn't want to buy it. You know
- 1:09:34what I mean? Like just classic plot, oldfashioned movie plot. Um, but Anie is
- 1:09:40supernaturalistic in it. Like he talks with his accent and stuff, but he's an
- 1:09:45immigrant, so it fits. He's not trying to be a Green Beret born and bred
- 1:09:49American with with just this ridiculous accent. And like I was like, okay, he
- 1:09:54actually can be extremely realistic. Yeah. When he wants to or at least could
- 1:09:59before he realized he didn't have to. I can tell you why it has an R rating.
- 1:10:05Two women prostitutes saw a great deal of cleavage cleavage in their dresses.
- 1:10:10One goes into a rub down massage room at a spa room and takes her top off. Both
- 1:10:15breasts fully exposed. Good lord. But
- 1:10:20can you watch that? I did watch it. In fact, I've got to I've got to admit
- 1:10:24something. So, this film stars Sally
- 1:10:27Field, right? Sally Field. Um, who I
- 1:10:32probably know most as Forest Gump's mom.
- 1:10:36I know her more from Cannonball Run. No, which was after this as well. I guess
- 1:10:41neither of those surprise me. [ __ ]
- 1:10:44beautiful movie. Like she is a knockout. And she plays just this this [ __ ]
- 1:10:51she's she's Anie's girlfriend, but then she falls in love with the the banker
- 1:10:54who's um Tron. What's his name? Uh oh,
- 1:10:57Bridges. Bridges. Yeah, Jeff Bridges. He's charming as [ __ ]
- 1:11:04Um but she's [ __ ] gorgeous. I was like, "Oh, man. Man, I I wouldn't have
- 1:11:09if somebody said or even when she was young, she was pretty. I'd be like,
- 1:11:11"Yeah, don't give a [ __ ] mate." No. Beautiful. No, she was gorgeous back
- 1:11:15then. Beautiful. Yeah. I'm sure she's fine now, but back then.
- 1:11:20Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine. I'm sorry. Sally. Yeah. Yeah. But she's
- 1:11:26not patron Sally. Listen to Sally.
- 1:11:31It'll be fine. Yeah. If you'd go Sally Field right in and tell us,
- 1:11:37would you do her now just for the memory of doing her when you watch the old
- 1:11:41movies? Like Luke often said that I was going to say Luke always said that about
- 1:11:45charact and I still would with Debbie Harry. I did. You guys didn't respond to
- 1:11:49my [ __ ] Mary kill that I sent in the the WhatsApp, but it looked for some reason that
- 1:11:56picture of Kenny Baker looked like he was trapped inside the R2 and I was
- 1:12:01That's how I like him. That's how I like him. Very easy
- 1:12:04to [ __ ] Mario.
- 1:12:10I mean, I think the the answer is obvious to the No, I had a hard time
- 1:12:14with it. That's why I didn't answer. My favorite meme, though.
- 1:12:18I think he would have used No, I had a very hard time with this. I Let's be
- 1:12:24clear. It's because it was Natalie Portman and Carrie Fisher, right? Kenny
- 1:12:26Baker was the obvious, I think. Yeah. Like, no offense to Kenny Baker. You
- 1:12:32could probably also [ __ ] the one you marry, right? They're not saying marry
- 1:12:35and never [ __ ] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But but the way I look at it, the one that
- 1:12:39you [ __ ] you get the [ __ ] once. The one you marry. So, I I I'll be honest, guys,
- 1:12:44and I love Carrie Fisher. I'd only want to [ __ ] up her once. I wouldn't want to
- 1:12:48know. That's what I was like, it seems quite obvious to me. Crazy is good in
- 1:12:51bed. Yeah. Once, mate. Once. Yeah. You
- 1:12:57know, you see all the guys she was [ __ ] married to. They didn't stay
- 1:13:00married to her for long. She was I [ __ ] love Carrie Fisher, but I do
- 1:13:06not want to marry Carrie Fisher. I think I think I could stay married to her. All
- 1:13:10right, fine. Dan Oilman. Yeah. Tell you what, we will each grow
- 1:13:16once then and then you can marry
- 1:13:21and we'll just all murder Kenny Baker resurrect him from the dead and
- 1:13:27murder him. Yeah. Yeah. This was only one of them was alive in that that we
- 1:13:33had to go off. Yeah, true. Oh, that's true. Yeah, but I I prefer the meme
- 1:13:37that's um um hey Anakin, [ __ ] Mary, kill Padme.
- 1:13:43[Laughter] Challenge accepted.
- 1:13:50Have you seen that one where some it's the you know that meme of them talking
- 1:13:54and and he's like the and oh god what is the the dialogue? Um I oh I think our AI
- 1:14:00could be good and um and plot right. Yeah to enhance the plot right to
- 1:14:05enhance the plot right in the last famous P with huge tips. Massive tips.
- 1:14:12So good. So good. Very funny. Um, we
