- 1:38Speaker 4: are less than a week away.
- 1:39Speaker 6: Jeez.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Is birthdays coming up on Tuesday? Wow? Yeah, we got
- 1:45Speaker 4: the weekend audio coming up. Sea Bass will have that
- 1:48Speaker 4: for us, all the trending news headlines birthdays part of
- 1:50Speaker 4: our birthday. Let us in the world of entertainment all
- 1:52Speaker 4: coming up here on the Woody show Menace you you
- 1:57Speaker 4: were talking about Krispy Kreman, are they falling on hard times? Yeah?
- 2:02Speaker 7: And their stock is way down the stocks I just.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Read something about like Krispy Kreme may not survive. People
- 2:10Speaker 4: worship it.
- 2:11Speaker 7: I think they'll still always be around, but the popularity
- 2:14Speaker 7: has a dude obliterated.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Well, apparently they are in such an operating hole. First
- 2:21Speaker 4: of all, hole because they they tried all these different
- 2:24Speaker 4: things they did that uh not collab, but they did
- 2:28Speaker 4: a partnership with McDonald's, which they thought was going to
- 2:30Speaker 4: be and that created so much extra overhead and all
- 2:34Speaker 4: that it was a logistical nightmare. Uh. You see them
- 2:37Speaker 4: trying to move into other places, you know, you can
- 2:39Speaker 4: see them in the grocery stores and to check out. Yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 4: and they got away from and this is where people
- 2:44Speaker 4: screw up a lot of times. They get away from
- 2:45Speaker 4: the core of what they do, which was great. Yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 4: which was these stores and the hot doughnut sign that
- 2:51Speaker 4: was flashing. We still did that. No, they did that,
- 2:54Speaker 4: but I'm saying they got away from that. And when
- 2:56Speaker 4: they tried to expand, it's like kind of when things
- 2:57Speaker 4: fell apart because they added all these extra costs and things.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I just don't, you know, and.
- 3:02Speaker 8: It kind of waters down the brand, the urgency, the
- 3:05Speaker 8: exclusivity exactly.
- 3:07Speaker 4: There's a whole big article about how it was. It
- 3:09Speaker 4: was kind of kind of it was a screw up
- 3:11Speaker 4: for them, and they may not survive it. They may
- 3:15Speaker 4: be in a nosetive greg that they can't pull out.
- 3:18Speaker 4: They've been mad.
- 3:19Speaker 9: Mid they've have been and the worship because of that,
- 3:22Speaker 9: don't worship light. There's so much worship. Give me a break.
- 3:25Speaker 6: They're good in the store, but at the grocery store,
- 3:27Speaker 6: those boxes they're bad.
- 3:28Speaker 8: Yeah, I wouldn't. It wouldn't occur to.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Me to get the I mean, I think there used
- 3:32Speaker 4: to be a worship break. I don't feel like that that's
- 3:34Speaker 4: the case anymore.
- 3:35Speaker 9: Because when you have somebody like the men who say, yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 9: are they good? Sure their donuts, how can they be bad?
- 3:41Speaker 9: But then they say, oh, you gotta get the hot.
- 3:43Speaker 9: When they're hot and they're glad.
- 3:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like to me, it's like saying, okay,
- 3:47Speaker 4: you have you can have this fresh baked chocolate chip cookie,
- 3:51Speaker 4: or you can have one right out of the oven
- 3:53Speaker 4: fresh baked. The fresh baked is way back. That's so
- 3:56Speaker 4: that that's what caused the worship.
- 3:58Speaker 8: Do you want a beer or do you want to
- 4:00Speaker 8: ice cold?
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yeah? Like I like though they feel like they're just
- 4:03Speaker 4: so light and they're hot and they just like melt
- 4:07Speaker 4: in your mouth.
- 4:07Speaker 7: I don't worship, but I think it's just liquid sugar.
- 4:10Speaker 7: But here's another thing that I heard some people talking
- 4:13Speaker 7: about this and they say, also like when it comes
- 4:17Speaker 7: to like Duncan and then Starbucks, they've added so many
- 4:21Speaker 7: things for like competition, Like chrispy Kreme really hasn't done that,
- 4:26Speaker 7: you know, like you know you go there for donuts,
- 4:29Speaker 7: but like Duncan, like you can go there every day
- 4:33Speaker 7: because who's going and getting donuts every day?
- 4:36Speaker 10: You lived across from a Duncan And I never bought
- 4:38Speaker 10: a donut there once, but I would get coffee sandwiches.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Tries. The coffee thing obviously, you never think about it.
- 4:46Speaker 4: They're not known for coffee that Duncans didn't. Yeah, Duncan
- 4:50Speaker 4: did a really great job of branding themselves for coffee.
- 4:54Speaker 10: Here's the other thing too, This is what happens to
- 4:57Speaker 10: a lot of the brands. Is Krispy Kreme. Yes, they
- 4:59Speaker 10: were very good for a long time, know its worshiping then,
- 5:01Speaker 10: but a lot of the like custom and of sorry
- 5:04Speaker 10: they'll have the custom. Donut shops blew up around the country.
- 5:08Speaker 10: Think of your Voodoo Donuts, which is not just a
- 5:10Speaker 10: Portland thing anymore, and so they kind of outshine.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Yeah, that started the same way that Remember that you
- 5:15Speaker 4: went through the gourmet cupcake places had gourmet cookies crumbled and.
- 5:21Speaker 10: There's so many of those shops around all kinds of cities.
- 5:23Speaker 10: Now that the Krispy Kreme isn't especial anymore.
- 5:25Speaker 4: The other people that kind of got away from who
- 5:27Speaker 4: they are and what they do. Cracker Barrel, I mean,
- 5:28Speaker 4: look at that whole disaster. What happened. Yeah, So the
- 5:32Speaker 4: the CEO because the whole like logo change and the refresh,
- 5:35Speaker 4: the remodel they were doing. The CEO says the redesign
- 5:38Speaker 4: was not about politics or ideology. Uh just wants to
- 5:42Speaker 4: make it clear. They just wanted to be more visible
- 5:45Speaker 4: from highways and to appeal to younger customers. That's why
- 5:48Speaker 4: they changed the logo. Well it was about politics, well
- 5:52Speaker 4: because you know, people tried to make it about I
- 5:54Speaker 4: forget what it was something about like the old guy
- 5:56Speaker 4: that was in the in the I forget what that.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I forget what the angle or the conspiracy theory on
- 6:00Speaker 4: that did.
- 6:02Speaker 10: My favorite part about that is our customers demanded this change.
- 6:05Speaker 10: Then three days later when they did it, they're like,
- 6:07Speaker 10: our customers didn't demand That's.
- 6:10Speaker 4: What radio stations say all the time, anytime they change
- 6:12Speaker 4: a format, they do anything like we heard did.
- 6:17Speaker 10: Some stupid manager I had an idea and it sucked.
- 6:19Speaker 4: The change was part of a seven hundred million dollars
- 6:22Speaker 4: modernization planned, and backlash from just all corners of the
- 6:26Speaker 4: country on the internet. It led to Cracker Barrel reversing cores,
- 6:29Speaker 4: keeping the old logo, pausing all the store remodels, and
- 6:33Speaker 4: firing the consulting firm behind the logo redesigned seven hundred
- 6:37Speaker 4: million bucks. But despite all the fuss, the company says
- 6:39Speaker 4: they are still focused on their turnaround plan, which does
- 6:42Speaker 4: include menu updates, digital upgrades, and loyalty perks.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Loyalty hard for Cracker.
- 6:50Speaker 4: I do like Cracker Barrel. It's always a good meal too. Yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 4: and that store, man, you can get the Buckeyes, you
- 6:54Speaker 4: can get all your random crap. The country store you
- 6:57Speaker 4: get the rock and tears out front the game. I'm in,
- 7:00Speaker 4: I'm in Yeah, eight seven seven forty four. Woodie sent
- 7:03Speaker 4: us a text over to two two nine eighty seven
- 7:06Speaker 4: more WHATOI show is next? Hang on?
- 7:12Speaker 7: What's up? Woody Show podcast listeners? It's menace. It is

- 7:40Speaker 4: All right, welcome back, yea. It is Thursday, October the
- 7:43Speaker 4: twenty third. Today's National iPod Day. Perfect for a throwback Thursday.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Oh yeah, the iPod sure love the iPod menace. Its
- 7:51Speaker 4: National croc Day. Although is that the kroc as in
- 7:54Speaker 4: the footwear or kroc as in crocodile? Dial interesting, probably crocodile.
- 7:59Speaker 7: Well no, no, it is c October. So yeah, yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 7: what do you mean? What does it mean? It's you
- 8:07Speaker 7: rock out with your crock set? Okay, cool?
- 8:09Speaker 4: Do that? I didn't know that was the thing.
- 8:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Uh oh. We were talking about Duncan and some of
- 8:14Speaker 4: their delicious offerings. Dude, the Duncan Boston Cream donut. Oh man,
- 8:21Speaker 4: it's a National Boston Cream Pie Day. It's a National
- 8:25Speaker 4: paralegal Day. Sure, this is exciting. It's a national slap
- 8:30Speaker 4: your co worker day, power slap? Yeah, what do you show?
- 8:37Speaker 4: Power slaph?
- 8:37Speaker 6: I mean we've been pitching this in meetings and today's today.
- 8:40Speaker 7: I mean, I'll let Sammy because I don't think it
- 8:43Speaker 7: would hurt.
- 8:44Speaker 4: But like Morgan didn't we somebody pitched an idea where
- 8:48Speaker 4: we were going to ask sea bass questions and if
- 8:50Speaker 4: he got it wrong, it would be kind of therapeutic
- 8:52Speaker 4: for Samy, like she gets to smack him across the
- 8:55Speaker 4: And he said no, no, I said, what's my benefit?
- 8:58Speaker 4: Like what do I get?
- 8:59Speaker 8: Will you get to know?
- 9:01Speaker 4: If you're so smart you wouldn't get them, you wouldn'tet
- 9:03Speaker 4: them wrong anyway?
- 9:04Speaker 10: It matter And I can I can do questions anytime.
- 9:07Speaker 10: What's what's again? There's no upside from me?
- 9:09Speaker 8: How smart you are?
- 9:11Speaker 4: I'm sorry, I don't know fun for the show. What
- 9:14Speaker 4: I'm saying is you got to give give me the
- 9:16Speaker 4: two sides of this thing. Be more fun content. It's
- 9:18Speaker 4: mold day, all day mole like yeah, ante is swallows
- 9:27Speaker 4: depart from San Juan Capistrano days a mass migration where swallows.
- 9:32Speaker 4: First of all, swallows flock and nest inside San Juan
- 9:35Speaker 4: Capistrano on or around the twenty third, and then they
- 9:39Speaker 4: returned to Argentina for the winter. That's so hard, a babe,
- 9:42Speaker 4: how do they know the date? We gotta go? Birthdays?
- 9:47Speaker 4: The port of birthday coming up in a few minutes minutes.
- 9:49Speaker 4: What's happening in the world of entertainment.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Well, Jennifer Aniston revealed what she asked for after Friends
- 9:55Speaker 7: became a hit. Now, she heard through the grapevine that
- 9:58Speaker 7: you know, when your show becomes a it, that you
- 10:01Speaker 7: get free gifts, and she found out from other actors like, yeah,
- 10:04Speaker 7: they got televisions and vacations with private jets and all
- 10:08Speaker 7: kinds of stuff. So when they asked her what she wanted,
- 10:11Speaker 7: she said, a washroom, dryer. Just what do you mean
- 10:15Speaker 7: do you think she has expensive? This is like a
- 10:17Speaker 7: year one, you know, this is not like, no, I
- 10:19Speaker 7: believe her year twenty. I'm saying that she didn't ask
- 10:21Speaker 7: for the moon and the stars. Maybe she know any better, though,
- 10:27Speaker 7: I guess I've ever done. Like your first negotiation was
- 10:30Speaker 7: something and then you didn't know any better, so you
- 10:32Speaker 7: didn't really know what to ask for it.
- 10:34Speaker 4: And you're like, oh, I should have yes for more.
- 10:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Well there was there was a radio guy that I knew,
- 10:40Speaker 4: and this is this is a really big job, and
- 10:43Speaker 4: they wanted him really bad, and he was trying to
- 10:45Speaker 4: see how serious they were. And so when they asked him, well,
- 10:48Speaker 4: you know, what's it going to take, he goes, I
- 10:50Speaker 4: want He lists like a super crazy expensive we're talking
- 10:53Speaker 4: like a four hundred thousand dollars luxury car, and they're
- 10:57Speaker 4: like all right, yeah, damn, And they sent them to
- 11:00Speaker 4: they set it up, they said, they sent him to
- 11:01Speaker 4: a dealership and again he just got to pick it out. Wow,
- 11:04Speaker 4: not for the day, not for the day, No, that
- 11:06Speaker 4: was that was like, that's it. And then he signed
- 11:09Speaker 4: some insane deal.
- 11:10Speaker 8: Good for him, Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 7: That's that happened. To our friends Man Kim, their band,
- 11:14Speaker 7: and they're telling me about this gig that they just
- 11:16Speaker 7: really didn't want to do. So they just do something
- 11:19Speaker 7: like ridiculous at promoters and they said, Okay, well, I
- 11:22Speaker 7: guess we're going to do it.
- 11:23Speaker 4: And that's the thing. He didn't even think that they
- 11:25Speaker 4: were going to do it, and they did it. And
- 11:27Speaker 4: he has it and he says he like never drives
- 11:30Speaker 4: it or rides it. What that man grew up to be?
- 11:32Speaker 7: Greg That's right, yeah, yeah, yeah, And that's the power
- 11:37Speaker 7: of negotiation, you know. All right, Dwayne the Rock Johnson,
- 11:43Speaker 7: his latest movie, which will be Jumanji three, is in
- 11:47Speaker 7: production and we've all been waiting for it. Jumanji actually
- 11:51Speaker 7: is a two billion dollar franchise and they are the
- 11:55Speaker 7: beneficiaries of the new California tax credit because you know,
- 11:58Speaker 7: everybody's gone all over the country to go shoot movies.
- 12:01Speaker 7: Now we just get a beneficiary at a menace and
- 12:03Speaker 7: sound yeah you did. And so everyone's shooting all these
- 12:06Speaker 7: movies all over the country, and then Hollywood is losing
- 12:09Speaker 7: out and they're not you shooting movies in Hollywood or
- 12:11Speaker 7: California anymore. So they're getting a text credit of fifty
- 12:16Speaker 7: three million dollars on this movie.
- 12:18Speaker 8: So why did it take so long to figure that out?
- 12:20Speaker 7: To make it cheaper to make movies in California?
- 12:22Speaker 8: I don't know what I mean, Like everybody left, everybody
- 12:25Speaker 8: is gone. It's like, oh wait a second, maybe we
- 12:27Speaker 8: should make it affordable.
- 12:29Speaker 4: What do they call it? It's some kind of thing
- 12:30Speaker 4: where you are so like overconfident.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Yeah that people stick around.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yeah, like that you become delusional, right and don't they'll
- 12:40Speaker 4: never whatever, And so people basically call your bluff right
- 12:44Speaker 4: and they do it. See, there's a term and I
- 12:47Speaker 4: can't think of the term. It's too early Hubris. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 4: like I would know a word like that. Yeah, that's
- 12:53Speaker 4: what I'm thinking about. Menace Hubris Huberris. You heard it, right.
- 12:56Speaker 7: But it's just like now all these yes, they've been
- 13:00Speaker 7: going everywhere else for years now, like Nevada, They've in Atlanta, Yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Pittsburgh, shoot a bunch of stuff.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Are they gonna come back?
- 13:09Speaker 4: No?
- 13:10Speaker 7: I mean, I mean, fifty three million dollars is a
- 13:12Speaker 7: big tax credit.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I mean it could it could be interesting because they
- 13:16Speaker 4: already have built an infrastructure in California, Hollywood or whatever.
- 13:20Speaker 4: And if that's where the majority of the cast, the crew,
- 13:23Speaker 4: the whoever, they don't have to move a production somewhere
- 13:26Speaker 4: to be on location. That could then save some money,
- 13:28Speaker 4: but like is it enough of a break from what
- 13:30Speaker 4: they used to charge people?
- 13:32Speaker 8: Well, and once you're already set up, Like isn't it
- 13:34Speaker 8: Marvel that's all set up in Atlanta? Like that's all
- 13:37Speaker 8: like they're done.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yeah, well there was there was something about like there's
- 13:40Speaker 4: a thing in Los Angeles. It's called film La, I think,
- 13:44Speaker 4: and like even if you like, let's say Sea Bass
- 13:47Speaker 4: and I we're going to just shoot something, we'd have
- 13:48Speaker 4: to go and get something from them on our own
- 13:51Speaker 4: street to shoot something. If we're going to use it
- 13:54Speaker 4: to make some kind of film, that's technically I'm sure
- 13:57Speaker 4: plenty of people do it without doing that, but that's
- 13:59Speaker 4: what you're supposed to do. Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 7: I was listening to James Gunn do an interview with
- 14:03Speaker 7: Tom Segura on their podcast, and I guess James Gunn
- 14:06Speaker 7: he set up like a whole thing in Charleston where
- 14:09Speaker 7: that's he moved all his production there. Yeah, so like
- 14:12Speaker 7: he convinced all his editors, all his like camera people,
- 14:16Speaker 7: everybody that he's ever worked with just to move to
- 14:18Speaker 7: Charleston and now they just have like a big compound
- 14:21Speaker 7: that they that's aw there. So that's that's pretty cool.
- 14:24Speaker 7: All right, A judge has thrown out for the second time.
- 14:30Speaker 7: This happened a little while ago, but we didn't talk
- 14:31Speaker 7: about it. So I thought i'd bring it up. That
- 14:33Speaker 7: kid that was on the cover of the Nirvana album.
- 14:35Speaker 11: Oh yeah, yeah, it was a child pornography and then uh,
- 14:41Speaker 11: they said, nah, dog, sorry, it's not a child pornography
- 14:44Speaker 11: and you're not gonna get any money off that dude.
- 14:47Speaker 11: That album came out in nineteen ninety one, and I
- 14:49Speaker 11: do remember when I saw it.
- 14:50Speaker 7: For the very first time.
- 14:51Speaker 4: You thought it was hilarious.
- 14:52Speaker 7: I was like, ew gross.
- 14:54Speaker 4: You were like, ooh gross, or you thought because you
- 14:56Speaker 4: thought winners were hilarious. Now it's just like, is that
- 14:58Speaker 4: something you grew into?
- 15:00Speaker 7: I grew into and it's adult wieners that are hilarious. Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 7: Because I remember seeing it in the record store, I'm like,
- 15:07Speaker 7: why is there a naked baby on this?
- 15:10Speaker 4: Do you think he grew up to have a big
- 15:11Speaker 4: penis greg? I wonder? I have no idea, Like did
- 15:15Speaker 4: he just keep growing and his penis stayed the same
- 15:17Speaker 4: or do you think like you know he ended up
- 15:20Speaker 4: it was like some big hots and anybody. I don't know.
- 15:22Speaker 4: I'm trying. That's what you should do.
- 15:24Speaker 7: Yeah, you should do only fans.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm trying to picture the cover. But remember menace.
- 15:28Speaker 9: You brought up that thing called penis amnesia, which is
- 15:31Speaker 9: a real thing. You don't remember penises. You don't remember that.
- 15:34Speaker 9: I can cover, of course I do, but I can't
- 15:37Speaker 9: picture it right now in Yeah, I can't remember. Yeah, here,
- 15:42Speaker 9: look like I look the theories as to if he
- 15:45Speaker 9: grew up to be a shower.
- 15:48Speaker 4: He was a shower in the photos, a baby shower. Okay,
- 15:56Speaker 4: all right, timed out for your birthdays. We're gonna sit.
- 16:05Speaker 3: And you know, don't.
- 16:08Speaker 9: A baby show. Yeah, yeah, I google googled it. Yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 9: he's probably hung today. Thank you for a baby in
- 16:16Speaker 9: a pool, agreed.
- 16:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm saying, probably bigger than some micro penis men, right,
- 16:21Speaker 4: Probably a baby as a like an infant. Yeah, hey,
- 16:25Speaker 4: check out the penis for yourself. Just break out that
- 16:26Speaker 4: album card. Yeah, check it out.
- 16:28Speaker 9: And then there's a picture of the kid as an adult,
- 16:32Speaker 9: recreating the pose.
- 16:33Speaker 4: He's wearing a bathing suit of horse. So how distraught
- 16:36Speaker 4: can he be?
- 16:36Speaker 8: How he's exploiting his own fame.

- 17:20Speaker 4: steinberg Rue and the Hunger Games. Okay, yeah, sure, real
- 17:24Speaker 4: twenty seven. I've never seen the Hunger Games, but I
- 17:26Speaker 4: know it's big. She's a good little I actually think
- 17:28Speaker 4: you'd like it. You know who that is?
- 17:29Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 17:30Speaker 4: Should I keep including her in future? Okay?
- 17:33Speaker 8: The only thing I've ever heard of her.
- 17:34Speaker 4: In She's Out, Okay, ang Lee the director, Yeah, Probatch,
- 17:38Speaker 4: you tiger hitting butthole Life of High The Hulk Broke
- 17:41Speaker 4: Back Mountain seventy one today and Ireland Baldwin only mentioning
- 17:45Speaker 4: because it's Alec Baldwin's rude, thoughtless little pig daughter bitch.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Remember she laughs about that. Now, that was such a
- 17:52Speaker 4: scandal in that pitch. Yeah, it shows how frustrated you
- 17:56Speaker 4: get with your kids. Uh huh, yeah at different times. Anyway,
- 17:58Speaker 4: She's thirty years old today. Your porno birthday is Riley
- 18:02Speaker 4: Starr and today's birthday girl. She was voted by her
- 18:05Speaker 4: classmates most likely to suck seed get it, and she
- 18:09Speaker 4: has proved that correct in four hundred and twenty fine films,
- 18:12Speaker 4: including two Tongues Means Twice The Rimming Volume one. She
- 18:17Speaker 4: was in Boss Cher's Wife with Hot Secretary, also one
- 18:20Speaker 4: of genus favorite It's as big as her forearm right,
- 18:23Speaker 4: Oh my god. She was in Servicing Peter's Peter also
- 18:27Speaker 4: Contractor Lays Pipe Volume one. She was in Dildo Focus Group,
- 18:32Speaker 4: Starts Threesome that Tends to happen and who can forget
- 18:36Speaker 4: her unforgettable role and a picture is worth a thousand whrees. Yeah, God, that's.
- 18:42Speaker 10: A Riley Star most Fun item on her Amazon wish list,
- 18:46Speaker 10: she has a Pokemon six and forty eight piece Poky center.
- 18:51Speaker 10: When you build a little Pokey center for your Pokemon, okay,
- 18:54Speaker 10: and they play Pokemon on that alright, yep, okay, it's
- 18:59Speaker 10: all legos Man.
- 19:00Speaker 4: You play Lego. She's twenty nine years old today, and
- 19:03Speaker 4: at your porno birthday, your celebrity birthdays and that Thursday
- 19:06Speaker 4: morning pre Friday, look at what's happening in the world
- 19:08Speaker 4: of entertainment here on the Woodies Show, Welbo Mac a
- 19:19Speaker 4: Throwback Thursday. It is the Woody Show. Got the phones open?
- 19:24Speaker 4: Eight seven seven forty four. Woodie sent us a text
- 19:27Speaker 4: over to two two nine eight seven. Check in with us,
- 19:30Speaker 4: tell us who you are and then where around town
- 19:32Speaker 4: you are and listening to the Woodies Show this morning. Yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 4: on a throwback Thursday topic. You know, technology, it's changed
- 19:39Speaker 4: a lot, Yeah, in the last thirty years, so much
- 19:42Speaker 4: so that there are a ton of things that people
- 19:44Speaker 4: did back then that no one would even have to
- 19:46Speaker 4: worry about doing now. These are some things, some nineties
- 19:51Speaker 4: things that people did that we don't have to do now,
- 19:54Speaker 4: like get off the phone so somebody could use it.
- 19:57Speaker 4: That was always a thing, or like you couldn't be
- 19:59Speaker 4: on the phone if you were online, Yeah, because it
- 20:02Speaker 4: would knock you offlines exactly. Ladies aren't wearing pantyhose to work.
- 20:07Speaker 4: I don't even remember the last time I saw a
- 20:08Speaker 4: woman wearing that. Do they still sell those? I don't know? Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 4: are they still like the little egg eggs? I don't know.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Stand in line to buy tickets for anything?
- 20:20Speaker 8: I kind of miss that.
- 20:22Speaker 6: I miss physical ticket?
- 20:23Speaker 8: Yeah, me too, saved the stub up to the window.
- 20:26Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 20:27Speaker 7: I slightly think that's going to come back a little
- 20:29Speaker 7: bit because of at least people that are throwing events
- 20:32Speaker 7: that want to try to get away from scalpers. But yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 7: who says that they physical tickets? Somebody can't just like
- 20:38Speaker 7: buy the tickets and then go.
- 20:39Speaker 10: I'm supprised there hasn't been a class actually lawsuit because
- 20:41Speaker 10: there has to be some kind of disability or some
- 20:43Speaker 10: kind of thing where like I have to I have
- 20:46Speaker 10: to own a smartphone to come to your event. Yeah,
- 20:50Speaker 10: that that doesn't seem that that'll seem right.
- 20:51Speaker 7: I want to stay off the grid.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Things people did back in the nineties, they don't do now,
- 20:56Speaker 4: banging erasers together, get the chalk off.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Yeah, clapping a razor has.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Schools don't have actual chalkboards. They're all they're all whiteboards.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Or even more so now they have these smartboards, which
- 21:07Speaker 4: are crazy. They'll show video they can do it's crazy.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Wow.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty neat printing off driving directions like quest.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Back when I first started in radio, I worked in
- 21:20Speaker 4: the promotions department. I was an intern, and we have
- 21:22Speaker 4: to go with all these dumb little events and set
- 21:24Speaker 4: the prize wheel and the tent and stuff like that.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Had no idea where some of these places were, and
- 21:28Speaker 4: so you know, you either get like handwritten directions from
- 21:31Speaker 4: somebody in the office who worked or lived in that
- 21:33Speaker 4: area before, or you know, when map quest came around,
- 21:37Speaker 4: then you start printing that stuff off and you're like, wow,
- 21:39Speaker 4: this is awesome, this is the future. And then came garment.
- 21:45Speaker 4: No more getting up to change the channel or prying.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Uh oh yeah, dude, what about the uh typing out
- 21:53Speaker 4: essays and work documents using a library or just like
- 21:57Speaker 4: a shared computer.
- 21:58Speaker 8: Yeah, you have a word process or you're.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Lucky rewinding VHS tapes we had a rewinder cutting out coupons.
- 22:06Speaker 8: I do that cut them out.
- 22:09Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 6: They made for my grocery store right on, and they're
- 22:12Speaker 6: custom for the things I buy. So it's like, why
- 22:14Speaker 6: would I not save a couple of books lucky?
- 22:16Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 22:17Speaker 7: Yeah? Do people still do?
- 22:19Speaker 4: Do stores still do double coupons?
- 22:21Speaker 6: What does that mean?
- 22:22Speaker 4: It means like.
- 22:23Speaker 8: Certain days of the week, it's like it's I guess.
- 22:27Speaker 6: There's deals like Fridays, there's more points that you can get.
- 22:30Speaker 4: I thought they got rid of all the cup I
- 22:31Speaker 4: thought it was just like you had the Shopper's Advantage
- 22:33Speaker 4: card or whatever. The hell.
- 22:34Speaker 7: Yeah, it's all that stuff that you throw away in
- 22:37Speaker 7: the mail.
- 22:38Speaker 6: Yeah, go through it.
- 22:39Speaker 4: But they really cracked down on the coupons ever since
- 22:41Speaker 4: Extreme Coupon and came out and everyone found out about it.
- 22:44Speaker 8: Like you can't really double up the way you used
- 22:45Speaker 8: to be able to do.
- 22:46Speaker 4: And some of the people in the nineties doing this stuff.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Greg probably still does this. Licking stamps and using envelopes.
- 22:52Speaker 6: I do I do it.
- 22:53Speaker 4: I don't lick them. I buy the forever ones that
- 22:54Speaker 4: are stickers.
- 22:55Speaker 8: You lick the envelope, I don't.
- 22:57Speaker 4: How else would you close it, I like it and
- 22:59Speaker 4: tape it. The bitch be trippings. I was going through
- 23:03Speaker 4: that whole phase where I was cleaning out different areas
- 23:05Speaker 4: of the house, right, and I had all this stuff.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I set it aside. I'm like, this can it doesn't
- 23:09Speaker 4: belong here, but does belong somewhere else. And so my
- 23:11Speaker 4: wife comes in. She goes, oh, you're getting rid of
- 23:12Speaker 4: all this stuff. I go, no, no, no, we can use these.
- 23:14Speaker 4: She goes, well, these are old and there were stamps.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I go, they're called forever stamps.
- 23:18Speaker 3: The name.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I go, yeah, so like they don't expire, Like we
- 23:22Speaker 4: can hold onto these for fifty years. And let's just say,
- 23:26Speaker 4: in fifty years from now, if we're alive and we
- 23:29Speaker 4: want to mail something, and if the mail is still
- 23:32Speaker 4: a thing, you could put this on it and they
- 23:34Speaker 4: will send it. They go back, yeah, oh, oh okay.
- 23:41Speaker 10: She she just loves to buy and then throw things away,
- 23:44Speaker 10: like she's like she needs to keep keep things coming yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 10: keep things going out.
- 23:48Speaker 4: We went through a while there where it's like getting
- 23:52Speaker 4: rid of things that we would still use, but I
- 23:55Speaker 4: get things that you don't use. But I go, hey,
- 23:56Speaker 4: where's the you know, like the thing that like cores
- 23:59Speaker 4: the like an Apple Corp. We have those, And I go,
- 24:02Speaker 4: whatever happened to?
- 24:03Speaker 9: Oh?
- 24:03Speaker 4: I threw that away? I watch I never I never
- 24:05Speaker 4: used Oh you never use it? Throw it away? Yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 4: And so I went out and I bought another one
- 24:10Speaker 4: because I used it. The kids would use.
- 24:12Speaker 9: It, so well, yeah, I don't use It's like throwing
- 24:16Speaker 9: things away just to like, I don't get it.
- 24:18Speaker 4: I don't just used every last kitchen gadget. Right, That's
- 24:21Speaker 4: what I said. We have plenty of that. We don't
- 24:23Speaker 4: use that away, right. Is this the woman who bought
- 24:25Speaker 4: the microwave s'mores maker? Uh? No, I want that though. No,
- 24:30Speaker 4: she didn't buy a MiG you were. She was telling
- 24:32Speaker 4: us something about something she bought where you like, you know,
- 24:34Speaker 4: crackers in No. My uh, my friend Tony that we
- 24:36Speaker 4: talked about quite he bought that case of dia maker
- 24:40Speaker 4: my parents. By the way. Yeah, yeah, it looks like
- 24:43Speaker 4: a George Foreman kind of.
- 24:44Speaker 7: They get those lines in the.
- 24:48Speaker 4: Dammit, you need something to like you can trace with
- 24:50Speaker 4: the knife where to cut a case of Yeah, eight
- 24:54Speaker 4: seven seven forty four. Wood sent us a text over
- 24:57Speaker 4: to two two nine eighty seven.
- 24:58Speaker 7: You are here.
- 24:59Speaker 4: Now and we are into another new hour insensitivity training
- 25:07Speaker 4: for a politically correct world. Thank you for being here,
- 25:10Speaker 4: going us see your valuable time today. I'm WOODI. That
- 25:13Speaker 4: is Greg Gory all right, yeah, yeah, yeah, there's a
- 25:19Speaker 4: menace her birthday month boy. Yes, Uh, there's Morgan. She's
- 25:24Speaker 4: our associate producer, Sammy, you're gonna turn your micro on here, Morgan,
- 25:28Speaker 4: hold on, Hell, there we go, executive producer. There's Gina Grant.
- 25:33Speaker 4: So we got sea Bass. Phones are open eight seven
- 25:35Speaker 4: seven forty four. Woodie, you can send us a text
- 25:38Speaker 4: over to two two nine eighty seven email email at
- 25:40Speaker 4: the woodieshow dot com, which is where this whole conversation started. Recently,
- 25:45Speaker 4: we had that email Gabriella, I think it was the
- 25:48Speaker 4: mom and she had that situation with her her son
- 25:53Speaker 4: got busted with a burner phone and it turns out
- 25:56Speaker 4: that it was purchased by the mother of the girl
- 26:00Speaker 4: of the girlfriend that they were trying to keep him
- 26:02Speaker 4: away from me and sneaking out of the house and
- 26:05Speaker 4: doing the whole thing. Yeah, So she's like kind of
- 26:08Speaker 4: at her wits end, not sure what to do, was
- 26:10Speaker 4: asking for some advice and listeners had a lot of
- 26:12Speaker 4: good advice, one of which was to you know, get
- 26:15Speaker 4: the cops involved corruption of a minor and dangerment was like, yeah,
- 26:19Speaker 4: in the middle of the night, she's like ubering him
- 26:21Speaker 4: to It's the the girlfriends keeping out your own daughter,
- 26:25Speaker 4: and it's so weird, so crazy. Anyway, we got a
- 26:27Speaker 4: lot of feedback on just in Jetta. Somebody said, restraining order,
- 26:31Speaker 4: you can look into something like that. It's just tough, man.
- 26:33Speaker 4: When I mean as a as a father of a
- 26:35Speaker 4: sixteen year old son, her son I believe was fifteen,
- 26:39Speaker 4: sixteen year old son, it's tough because they're independent in
- 26:44Speaker 4: so many ways. And I mean, this is a person
- 26:46Speaker 4: who's able to drive, and they're in high school and
- 26:49Speaker 4: while they're not adults and they're not fully developed yet,
- 26:51Speaker 4: they're still dumb af they are. It's it's, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 4: it's just difficult to navigate a situation. It's not as
- 26:58Speaker 4: easy as when they were like sick, right, you know,
- 27:01Speaker 4: and you say no and no dessert and you go
- 27:03Speaker 4: to bed early and that's that, you know, and things
- 27:05Speaker 4: like that. Anyway, so we got one of these after
- 27:06Speaker 4: hours voicemails from somebody who wanted to share their story
- 27:11Speaker 4: of you know, their difficult, and this is gonna make
- 27:14Speaker 4: your ovaries just like shrivel up and die, ladies and fellas.
- 27:17Speaker 4: It's gonna make you swear off any idea of, you know,
- 27:21Speaker 4: dumping one inside and trying to have a baby. Just Joe, Yeah,
- 27:24Speaker 4: just Joe. Nothing wrong with you know, putting in other places.
- 27:28Speaker 4: You don't have to put it there, you don't have
- 27:29Speaker 4: to make a baby. You can be very experimental. Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 4: So here's the after hours voicemail in response to that
- 27:36Speaker 4: listener's email story.
- 27:37Speaker 13: Hello call because I was listening to Gabrielle's story and
- 27:42Speaker 13: I had a daughter who was dating a boy who
- 27:46Speaker 13: was doing similar things. He got expelled from the school
- 27:49Speaker 13: they were at. He's burn her phone after I took
- 27:53Speaker 13: away all of her devices, she couldn't talk to him anymore.
- 27:57Speaker 13: She ended up trying to kill herself twice or the relationship,
- 28:01Speaker 13: and I had her put in the mental hospital. After
- 28:04Speaker 13: she came out, she's still found ways talking to him.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Uh.
- 28:07Speaker 13: The police were no health at all because she was
- 28:11Speaker 13: almost eighteen, so they said, oh, well she's almost eighteen,
- 28:13Speaker 13: so in a few months she's going to be able
- 28:15Speaker 13: to do what she wants anyway, which she ended up
- 28:18Speaker 13: doing it's gonna she started eighteen, she moved out within
- 28:21Speaker 13: with him. I ended up getting calls in the middle
- 28:23Speaker 13: of the night twice to go pick her up from
- 28:25Speaker 13: the house because they have got specifical altercations. But she
- 28:29Speaker 13: finally wrought.
- 28:31Speaker 12: Up with him.
- 28:31Speaker 13: That she was waving with him for almost a year
- 28:34Speaker 13: and didn't talk to me the entire time, expect when
- 28:37Speaker 13: she needed something, And she finally did break up with him,
- 28:41Speaker 13: and then she moved back home. Everything was going good.
- 28:45Speaker 4: Okay, so everything was going good to this thing. Did
- 28:48Speaker 4: it stay good? They broke up? Did it stay did
- 28:50Speaker 4: it stay good? No? No, no, no, no, no, okay,
- 28:56Speaker 4: everybody's guesses. No, all right, let's find.
- 28:58Speaker 13: Out everything was good. Then he killed himself.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Yeah, the boyfriend killed himself. Yeah, God, so she I
- 29:07Speaker 4: guess had tried a couple of times during their religions
- 29:09Speaker 4: because it was that good.
- 29:10Speaker 8: Uh huh.
- 29:11Speaker 4: And then now they break up and everything else that
- 29:13Speaker 4: the boyfriend ends up actually killing himself, and then his family.
- 29:20Speaker 13: Blamed her for breaking up with him and that's why
- 29:22Speaker 13: he killed himself. And then everything was okay with her
- 29:26Speaker 13: for a while, but then she got a new boyfriend
- 29:28Speaker 13: who wasn't a bad certain but she was able to
- 29:31Speaker 13: take complete controllers of the relation morphan made him believe
- 29:36Speaker 13: we were these horrible parents and this and that because
- 29:38Speaker 13: we wanted her to clean up after herself at home,
- 29:41Speaker 13: take care of her responsibility and stopped constantly disrespecting everyone
- 29:46Speaker 13: in the house, which is being made my husband treating
- 29:49Speaker 13: up like gardens all the time. Well, her boyfriend believed
- 29:53Speaker 13: everything she said, and then she ended up moving out again.
- 29:57Speaker 13: I haven't talked to her in office for eighteen months
- 29:59Speaker 13: because you ready, for people that never cared about her,
- 30:02Speaker 13: never should care of her, and she even had a
- 30:05Speaker 13: baby with him, and I haven't even seen my granddaughter.
- 30:09Speaker 13: So that's pretty much if they can't get the son
- 30:13Speaker 13: to start making good decisions for herself, like, that's pretty
- 30:16Speaker 13: much what they have the listener they were too. Therapy
- 30:18Speaker 13: didn't help, the police, DI didn't help, nothing help, and
- 30:23Speaker 13: nothing is still helping. And I can't even call her
- 30:25Speaker 13: and talk to her and I don't even get to
- 30:28Speaker 13: see her in Yes, So I wanted to write, you know,
- 30:33Speaker 13: from someone sorry all through this and it's still going
- 30:35Speaker 13: through this that accuse her, Okay, love everybody, Bye bye bye.
- 30:41Speaker 4: So that's called this is why you say, and people
- 30:46Speaker 4: you can argue with me, so you're blue in the
- 30:48Speaker 4: face about Wisby. You can love your kids, but you
- 30:52Speaker 4: can hate being a parent, And that right there, I
- 30:54Speaker 4: think paints it perfectly. Yeah, she loves this girl, she
- 30:58Speaker 4: loves her daughter, but you think she likes any of
- 31:01Speaker 4: that going through any of that? That's the parenting part. Aunts, uncles,
- 31:06Speaker 4: you don't have to deal with that stuff. You may
- 31:07Speaker 4: get called in to try to like intervene and have
- 31:10Speaker 4: a conversation, but you, as the parent, you are on
- 31:14Speaker 4: the line on that one for life. Right. So that's
- 31:17Speaker 4: why the whole idea of like you love your kids,
- 31:19Speaker 4: but you hate being a parent, that's what that is
- 31:22Speaker 4: right there.
- 31:23Speaker 6: It's that because you can do everything right as a
- 31:25Speaker 6: parent and the kid.
- 31:26Speaker 7: Yeah, does it sucks? My thing is trying to constantly
- 31:29Speaker 7: interact with that? Does that even help at all?
- 31:32Speaker 4: You know?
- 31:33Speaker 7: Does that change anything? It's not like they're gonna the
- 31:35Speaker 7: kid is gonna wake up one day and go, you
- 31:37Speaker 7: know what, mom, yesterday, You're absolutely right, I'm gonna turn
- 31:41Speaker 7: everything around. It just takes time and then they have
- 31:44Speaker 7: to realize themselves, like, hey, why am I living this way?
- 31:47Speaker 4: I don't have to. That's why I've told my son
- 31:49Speaker 4: a number of times. I'm like, man, I can sit
- 31:51Speaker 4: here and give you all the advice. You're either gonna
- 31:52Speaker 4: take it or leave it. Part of me just needn't
- 31:55Speaker 4: want you to go through it because you'll have to
- 31:57Speaker 4: experience it to really understand it. Yeah, you're not gonna
- 32:01Speaker 4: You're not gonna get it until you fall in your face.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah, I know this sucks.
- 32:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I know it sucks. And your parent you want
- 32:07Speaker 7: to save them and you want to keep them from
- 32:09Speaker 7: all these bad things happening, but they might just have
- 32:12Speaker 7: to go through it because they're not going to listen as.
- 32:14Speaker 4: A non parent.
- 32:15Speaker 9: Here's my part that I don't understand. Lots of families
- 32:20Speaker 9: have a black sheep in the family, and I'm not
- 32:22Speaker 9: talking to somebody who's just kind of an a hole.
- 32:24Speaker 9: I'm talking about people who are like drug adds, destruct,
- 32:26Speaker 9: thieves in and out of jail, rob their own relatives,
- 32:31Speaker 9: you know, bad people. If that person was in my
- 32:34Speaker 9: life and was my kid, just because he came out
- 32:37Speaker 9: of my sperm, I could see myself saying, you know what,
- 32:41Speaker 9: I don't love you. I really could Yeah, like I
- 32:44Speaker 9: love you, but I don't know what it's like.
- 32:47Speaker 4: The other thing, yeah, that the other thought that comes
- 32:51Speaker 4: up is you know you you love them, but you
- 32:54Speaker 4: don't like them. Yea, I love you, but right now
- 32:56Speaker 4: I don't like you, and I love you only because
- 32:59Speaker 4: your family.
- 33:00Speaker 7: So Greg, I've noticed with people like the black sheep
- 33:03Speaker 7: of the family, they're always babied, They're always.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Everybody else and the family.
- 33:12Speaker 7: Yeah, the family like does everything for them And like, dude,
- 33:16Speaker 7: why acting like garbage.
- 33:18Speaker 8: It's like there the whole family is like health hostage.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I hate this stuff. Doesn't sound like she was
- 33:24Speaker 4: doing anything right as a parent. Really, it sounds like
- 33:27Speaker 4: she was doing everything she could. There was therapy, she
- 33:30Speaker 4: took away all the phone. She tried to keep this
- 33:32Speaker 4: girl away from this guy. Like that's why she related
- 33:35Speaker 4: so much to Gabrielle's email. That's the thing, you, it's
- 33:41Speaker 4: really easy to be, uh, you know, a backseat driver, right,
- 33:46Speaker 4: Like I would never let my kid cry in an airplane,
- 33:48Speaker 4: okay or in that situation, Like what are you gonna do?
- 33:51Speaker 4: That's what you should drive me crazy when you hear
- 33:53Speaker 4: remember the show love line. Of course, Doctor Drew and
- 33:55Speaker 4: Adam Carolla like it was always the parent's fault. From
- 33:59Speaker 4: doctor was always the parents. And I remember saying the
- 34:02Speaker 4: doctor drew at one point, I said, don't you think
- 34:04Speaker 4: it's possible that she's just a whore? And the parents
- 34:08Speaker 4: were great parents, and she tried section She's like, man,
- 34:11Speaker 4: this is great and she and she went all in
- 34:15Speaker 4: on it. I had nothing to do with the parents
- 34:17Speaker 4: were good parents, they taught her right and whatever. But
- 34:19Speaker 4: like man, she got a little taste of horror and
- 34:21Speaker 4: she loved it. I had nothing to do with anything
- 34:24Speaker 4: that the parents did or didn't do.
- 34:25Speaker 8: He wasn't buying it because he believes.
- 34:28Speaker 4: That everything there must be some type of trauma or
- 34:30Speaker 4: some type of addiction or some type of.
- 34:33Speaker 9: I totally disagree because one if it's a kid and
- 34:35Speaker 9: he's out and he finds what seabast and I call
- 34:38Speaker 9: creek porn, like you find a magazine by the creek
- 34:41Speaker 9: and that's where you learn stuff from.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's your parents and bought you totally.
- 34:45Speaker 8: Yeah smut, Yeah, exactly.
- 34:49Speaker 4: What's that? Yeah, I'm I'm sorry, I'm sorry you're dealing
- 34:52Speaker 4: with all that that that blows, but also very helpful
- 34:55Speaker 4: for anybody out there. I mean, you know, I take
- 34:57Speaker 4: comfort even knowing that you're not You're not alone in this,
- 35:02Speaker 4: in this struggle, in this, in this world of parenting,
- 35:05Speaker 4: parenting is an impossible job. Seven one four texting over
- 35:08Speaker 4: absolutely right. I could see myself writing people off. You
- 35:12Speaker 4: guys are describing my brother, says the seven one four.
- 35:16Speaker 4: All right, we're gonna take a quick break. We'll come back.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Trending news headlines coming up for you. Next, Gina Grad's
- 35:21Speaker 4: gonna have those eight seven, seven forty four. What is
- 35:23Speaker 4: the phone number? You can set us a text over
- 35:25Speaker 4: to two two nine eight seven More wood shows. Next,
- 35:28Speaker 4: hang on, Big, you're in here out a needy story.
- 35:33Speaker 4: Big here in the car, and he's the wires.
- 35:38Speaker 1: The Woody Show, embecile, he's our Miscole Now show.
- 35:48Speaker 4: And let's go check in with Gina Grad.
- 35:51Speaker 8: But we have another update with the lou jewelry heist.
- 35:55Speaker 8: Cops say they found traces of DNA left on the stuff,
- 35:57Speaker 8: like helmets and gloods of DNA.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Wasn't like we're going to steal this.
- 36:03Speaker 12: I'm gonna line drive on right into this tiara.
- 36:15Speaker 4: We're so getting away with these guys. We're never gonna
- 36:17Speaker 4: find this. It's gonna be ruly.
- 36:21Speaker 8: Are you sure it was it?
- 36:22Speaker 5: You guys? If I had that kind of jewelry, yeah, absolutely.
- 36:27Speaker 8: Well they was going to get a match with that DNA.
- 36:30Speaker 8: In the meantime, the Loop director spoke to the French
- 36:32Speaker 8: Senate and called the museum's perimeter security a terrible failure.
- 36:36Speaker 8: She also said that while the internal the insight alarms
- 36:38Speaker 8: and cameras were fine, the external camera completely missed where
- 36:42Speaker 8: the thieves broke in, and she stressed that the museums
- 36:45Speaker 8: now committed to beefing up their security. They may even
- 36:48Speaker 8: add an on site police station. And she submitted a resignation,
- 36:52Speaker 8: but it was refused, so I guess they didn't blame her.
- 36:57Speaker 8: Great question. NFL can Missioner Roger Goodell held a press
- 37:01Speaker 8: conference at the annual Fall Owners Meeting and said the
- 37:04Speaker 8: league has no plans to change this year's Super Bowl
- 37:07Speaker 8: halftime act with Bad Bunny.
- 37:09Speaker 4: Did anybody think they really would know?
- 37:10Speaker 8: I don't think so.
- 37:11Speaker 7: Well.
- 37:12Speaker 8: Some people got all crazy about Bad Bunny performing City's
- 37:15Speaker 8: not American despite being from Puerto Rico, and others are
- 37:18Speaker 8: pissed that he sings in Spanish, but Goodell says that
- 37:20Speaker 8: the halftime decision every year is carefully thought through and
- 37:23Speaker 8: says they've never selected an artist that didn't have some
- 37:27Speaker 8: sort of blowback or criticism. So does everybody move on?
- 37:30Speaker 4: I still cannot, for the life of me, understand why
- 37:33Speaker 4: anybody truly cares of who performs at the half Like
- 37:37Speaker 4: you either like them or you don't. It's fine, it's
- 37:39Speaker 4: going to be something different every year. You're not gonna
- 37:41Speaker 4: like it every year. Uh, it's just part of the
- 37:44Speaker 4: whole thing. It's like it's before Sunday.
- 37:47Speaker 8: Well, that's the thing.
- 37:50Speaker 4: It's the halftime show is it's not the whole event.
- 37:52Speaker 8: Well, I have a question for hardcore football fans, and
- 37:55Speaker 8: I assume that's most of you. So you're watching the
- 37:57Speaker 8: game and it's a big deal, and then the halftime
- 37:59Speaker 8: show comes on, and are you are you still sitting
- 38:00Speaker 8: there watching it?
- 38:02Speaker 4: I watched it as a fan, like as a as
- 38:04Speaker 4: a fan of the game. I'm there for the game.
- 38:07Speaker 4: I don't care about the national anthem, who sings it.
- 38:10Speaker 4: I don't care about halftime stuff. If I happen to be,
- 38:13Speaker 4: you know, around, I'll watch it. But typically that's what
- 38:15Speaker 4: I'm doing my socializing, because when I'm not watching the game,
- 38:19Speaker 4: I'm watching the commercials and so and when the game's on.
- 38:22Speaker 4: I'm not socializing, that's my point.
- 38:24Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 38:24Speaker 4: I'm watching the game.
- 38:25Speaker 8: Football fans who care about the.
- 38:26Speaker 7: Halftime show something to complain about.
- 38:29Speaker 8: Exactly Well, the Mega Million's jackpots still climbing after there
- 38:33Speaker 8: was no winner from Tuesday. One person in Illinois did
- 38:36Speaker 8: win a cool three million for matching all five.
- 38:39Speaker 4: Okay, and so much, so much, not just confetti, not
- 38:45Speaker 4: like jewel heist ribbon, but like pretty good three million
- 38:49Speaker 4: from the window to the wall. I'll take it so much.
- 38:53Speaker 4: Ribbons if I won that, you never heard, really.
- 39:00Speaker 5: Get it?
- 39:00Speaker 8: I got the image ribbon.
- 39:03Speaker 4: Craig and I have been making that same joke for
- 39:05Speaker 4: two decades now, yeah, twenty years. Yeah, I whipped the
- 39:10Speaker 4: ribbon out. Yeah that's hot.
- 39:12Speaker 8: So the jackpots now it's six hundred and eighty million.
- 39:15Speaker 8: That's the ninth largest spot, Yeah, in Mega Million's history.
- 39:18Speaker 8: If you win and take the up sum, though, don't
- 39:20Speaker 8: get too excited. You only get three one hundred and
- 39:22Speaker 8: eighteen million. And keep in mind the odds of winning
- 39:24Speaker 8: the jackpot are one in about three hundred million, according
- 39:28Speaker 8: to experts. So you're saying there's a chance, and the
- 39:32Speaker 8: San Francisco Giants have made history. They're the first MLB
- 39:36Speaker 8: team to ever name a college coach as their manager
- 39:39Speaker 8: with zero prior MLB experience. The Giants needed a new
- 39:44Speaker 8: manager decided to go with University of Tennessee baseball coach
- 39:47Speaker 8: Tony Battello. It's the first time that a Major League
- 39:50Speaker 8: baseball team is hired a coach with no big league experience,
- 39:52Speaker 8: but Bottello led Tennessee to a national championship two years
- 39:56Speaker 8: ago and says he's excited to take on the challenge,
- 39:58Speaker 8: feels grateful for the opportunity. You, So we'll see.
- 40:00Speaker 4: What what's the difference. I mean, every once in a
- 40:02Speaker 4: while they'll hire a former player, right, like a Mike Matheeni,
- 40:05Speaker 4: you know, the Aaron Boone. They hire these guys.
- 40:08Speaker 8: He knows what he's doing.
- 40:09Speaker 7: Yeah, it's college baseball different from.
- 40:12Speaker 8: Are the rules different?
- 40:13Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 40:13Speaker 7: Do you go backwards?
- 40:14Speaker 4: I'm not sure how, But like I'd be interested to
- 40:16Speaker 4: know what are they paying this guy compared to what
- 40:18Speaker 4: the average salary is for a first time manager. Is
- 40:21Speaker 4: this kind of like what radio does or what all
- 40:23Speaker 4: these other industries do. They'll take somebody with less experience
- 40:26Speaker 4: and use that as an excuse to pay them less
- 40:28Speaker 4: than what you know they're paying other people in a
- 40:31Speaker 4: similar position.
- 40:32Speaker 8: Very good points, Well a few. I don't know that answer, Yeah,
- 40:35Speaker 8: but that does seem likely. A few weeks back, did
- 40:38Speaker 8: he was sentences, you know, to four years in prison
- 40:40Speaker 8: for charges of transportation to engage in prostitutions.
- 40:43Speaker 4: I know, it's still hard to hear. I know.
- 40:45Speaker 8: Apparently things are not going very well. According to one
- 40:47Speaker 8: of Diddy's friends, he just survived an alleged prison attack
- 40:51Speaker 8: where he allegedly woke up with a knife to his throat. Well, yeah, exactly, yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 8: did it?
- 40:57Speaker 4: Did it? Yeah? Did?
- 40:59Speaker 8: These lawyers can earned it, and says that a guard
- 41:01Speaker 8: was able to stop everything before anything even crazier went down.
- 41:04Speaker 8: The friend also thinks the encounter was meant to send
- 41:07Speaker 8: a message over an actual attempt on Didy's life, but
- 41:10Speaker 8: his lawyers now very worried about his safety.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Guys, guys, Yeah, the conspiracy theory, we would say that
- 41:18Speaker 4: the lawyers, the Diddy team set that up.
- 41:22Speaker 8: Aid someone.
- 41:22Speaker 4: Yeah, and then they can use that as an excuse
- 41:25Speaker 4: to say we're worried about his safety.
- 41:26Speaker 8: Yeah, right, what's it called to commute the sentence or
- 41:29Speaker 8: to what is he asking Trump for?
- 41:31Speaker 4: I thought commute our commute was like it not expanded,
- 41:35Speaker 4: but like get a changed from prison time to house arrest.
- 41:39Speaker 8: Is that we're talking about signy. I can't think of that.
- 41:42Speaker 4: I don't know. Okay, well, and that's criminals.
- 41:44Speaker 9: I don't have a lot of totally redundant to say,
- 41:48Speaker 9: you're worried about his safety. Any lawyer or family member
- 41:51Speaker 9: or loved one is going to worry about the safety
- 41:53Speaker 9: of somebody behind bars.
- 41:54Speaker 8: Right someone you're paying to worry about your safety. We're
- 41:57Speaker 8: worried about the safety of the public. That's why he's
- 41:59Speaker 8: in there.
- 42:02Speaker 4: Exactly weird argument from someone who's such a fan.
- 42:05Speaker 8: She holds.
- 42:10Speaker 3: Well.
- 42:10Speaker 8: The folks at General Motors say they're planning to offer
- 42:13Speaker 8: not just hands free driving, but eyes off driving.
- 42:16Speaker 4: Did you see the video? I saw the headline, so
- 42:20Speaker 4: Our Tech corresponded here in the Woody Show, rich Demiro
- 42:23Speaker 4: rich on Tech. We have to schedule another segment with
- 42:26Speaker 4: because there's so much to catch up on. He was
- 42:28Speaker 4: just in New York where they unveiled this thing, and
- 42:31Speaker 4: it looks super cool. It's what Menace has been wanting.
- 42:33Speaker 4: So this is not hands free. This is eyes off
- 42:36Speaker 4: the road, so eyes off driving with this new escalade,
- 42:42Speaker 4: and I think it was the Hunger Games. They're they're
- 42:44Speaker 4: playing something on the big display in the middle of
- 42:47Speaker 4: the dash and they're telling you straight up you don't
- 42:50Speaker 4: have to watch the road. Yeah, do whatever.
- 42:55Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what has been asking for.
- 42:58Speaker 8: It's the escalade, i Q. That's that's the one. And
- 43:01Speaker 8: in the meantime, GM will be rolling out conversational AI
- 43:05Speaker 8: in cars starting next year using Google Gemini.
- 43:07Speaker 7: Oh you have a friend.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 8: The goal exactly is for drivers field to plan roots,
- 43:11Speaker 8: text people even develop their own AI. They want to
- 43:15Speaker 8: develop their own AI that hones it on each driver's
- 43:17Speaker 8: personal habit.
- 43:18Speaker 7: So it's like, you love driving, buddy, because my current
- 43:20Speaker 7: AI is dumb as hell. Man, and the chat GBT
- 43:24Speaker 7: that I've been trying to use in the car, I'm like,
- 43:26Speaker 7: I know the answer is wrong that you're giving me,
- 43:29Speaker 7: and they go, oh, sorry about that, Sorry, buddy. I
- 43:32Speaker 7: looked into it further and you're correct.
- 43:35Speaker 4: But there's a whole video on rich de Muro's at
- 43:39Speaker 4: rich on Tech. Yeah you could. You could see the
- 43:41Speaker 4: whole thing, dude, that's awesome.
- 43:45Speaker 8: Yeah, I do have.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Well, now, I was gonna remember that be a man guy.
- 43:49Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, he's like this Boston dude or whatever.
- 43:54Speaker 4: He had something about, oh yeah about navigation in car navigation, right,
- 43:58Speaker 4: this is pretty fun sing that avigation on your car
- 44:01Speaker 4: to a man's voice. Never take directions from a woman.
- 44:06Speaker 4: It's a stupid that.
- 44:12Speaker 8: Well, there's been a new discovers This is funny. New
- 44:16Speaker 8: discovery out in Montana signed to say they've discovered a
- 44:19Speaker 8: new species of dinosaur. They're calling it Bronto Thols, Harmony
- 44:24Speaker 8: and then harmonious. The dinos, thought to have lived seventy
- 44:28Speaker 8: five million years ago during the Late Crestaceous period, was
- 44:31Speaker 8: part of a family that menace. I gave you a
- 44:33Speaker 8: piece of paper. Maybe you can help us pronounce the
- 44:35Speaker 8: family it was part of.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Oh yeah, not too much. A six year old boy
- 44:41Speaker 4: would be able to say it, because the six year
- 44:43Speaker 4: old boys love dinosaurs.
- 44:45Speaker 7: We went through that right, Wow, as twenty letters. So
- 44:50Speaker 7: it's the pincious Sonori.
- 44:55Speaker 4: A Derney adorney. He got it.
- 44:59Speaker 8: There's any of us.
- 45:08Speaker 6: Patchy Seplosaurida.
- 45:12Speaker 8: That's very close.
- 45:13Speaker 4: All right, Greg, did you I haven't seen better? Uh,
- 45:21Speaker 4: pachy Cephala day. Yeah, that's what I was. Yeah, yeah, right,
- 45:28Speaker 4: sophalous absolutely syphilis.
- 45:32Speaker 8: It sounds like it sounds like a Harry Potter spell. Yeah,
- 45:35Speaker 8: it doesn't sound like English. But other things we know
- 45:38Speaker 8: about this guy. It seemed to have been a ten
- 45:40Speaker 8: foot long herbivore that walked on two legs, had a
- 45:43Speaker 8: big old dome shaped head. So got new datas hour
- 45:47Speaker 8: and that's what's going on.
- 45:48Speaker 4: All right, Thank you very much. Ginograd got it, but
- 45:50Speaker 4: this one. Don't take medicine when you're sick. Just keep
- 45:52Speaker 4: on coughing and complaining about it. Be a man, Yeah,
- 46:00Speaker 4: my guest voice is a man. It's like an Australian man.
- 46:03Speaker 4: I just changed it because I was sick of the
- 46:04Speaker 4: serie voice lady, and so I changed it to a
- 46:08Speaker 4: British lady. I did. It's pretty good.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Somebody sneezes say, God, blush, you almost shut the up.
- 46:18Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. Be a man. Yeah, it's a show.
- 46:26Speaker 4: So Hall of Fame Pitcher Randy Johnson remember the big units.
- 46:32Speaker 8: Oh damn, we had the big dumper.
- 46:35Speaker 4: Yeah, back in the day. He was the big unit.
- 46:37Speaker 4: I'd rather tall dude.
- 46:40Speaker 14: He uh.
- 46:42Speaker 4: He threw a pitch one time it hit a bird.
- 46:44Speaker 4: It just and the thing like exploded, and and and
- 46:50Speaker 4: now he's like a professional photographer. Oh yeah, he's had
- 46:54Speaker 4: a lot of big sporting events. I mean he's really
- 46:56Speaker 4: good and he's well respected within the photography world and
- 46:59Speaker 4: really yeah, that's what he's been doing in his retirement.
- 47:02Speaker 4: He also goes around signing autographs at different things, different
- 47:04Speaker 4: you know, uh signing events, And he did one of
- 47:08Speaker 4: those and one of the fans asked him to sign
- 47:09Speaker 4: a jersey and he denied the fan. Not because Randy
- 47:14Speaker 4: Johnson's dick, As a matter of fact, it's the opposite.
- 47:16Speaker 4: It's actually a very caring and thoughtful reason why he
- 47:20Speaker 4: doesn't do it. And so here he is explaining to
- 47:23Speaker 4: one of the fans why he won't sign jerseys for people.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Randy Johnson, one thing that I don't sign because the
- 47:30Speaker 3: one thing that he raised money for charities why charity
- 47:34Speaker 3: and some other people's charity, because there's.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Not a lot of them sloating out there. I was
- 47:38Speaker 4: doing this way back and there's long time ago.
- 47:41Speaker 3: So yeah, why because's one thing. I mean, everything else
- 47:48Speaker 3: there's signed, but one thing that might raise a little
- 47:51Speaker 3: bit more money.
- 47:52Speaker 15: For a charity.
- 47:53Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's not a lot of these sign jerseys
- 47:56Speaker 4: out there with him exactly right, So he saves out
- 48:00Speaker 4: or he really wants to make a you know, impact
- 48:02Speaker 4: with the.
- 48:02Speaker 9: Charity, which that's when he'll only sign a jersey.
- 48:05Speaker 7: I hear it's impossible to get Dave Girl to sign
- 48:10Speaker 7: a guitar, right because he says that he's not a
- 48:13Speaker 7: good guitar player.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Well, I don't know, Dave, you're a great I hear.
- 48:20Speaker 7: He doesn't sign him, he doesn't sign him. But you
- 48:23Speaker 7: know who's also super into photography is mashaw Lynch.
- 48:27Speaker 4: Masha mashaw l Lynch.
- 48:32Speaker 7: Yeah, he's a super into it all right.
- 48:34Speaker 4: So who who does he? Who does he sound like? You? Guys?
- 48:38Speaker 4: I I can tell you. I know who Randy Johnson is.
- 48:42Speaker 4: I've known who Randy Johnson is. I don't know if
- 48:44Speaker 4: I ever heard him speak until this clip, Like, who
- 48:48Speaker 4: does he sound like? Think about it?
- 48:49Speaker 3: One thing that I don't sign because it's one of
- 48:52Speaker 3: the things that he raised money.
- 48:54Speaker 4: For charities, my charity charity, because there's not a lot
- 48:58Speaker 4: of them floating out there. Okay, I'm I'm kind of
- 49:02Speaker 4: getting a hint of two different people. Okay. One is
- 49:05Speaker 4: she puts the lotion in the basket. Okay, on its skin.
- 49:11Speaker 4: It does this whenever it's toll.
- 49:14Speaker 16: Mister, my family will pay cash.
- 49:16Speaker 6: Whatever ransom you're asking for.
- 49:17Speaker 4: They'll pay it.
- 49:19Speaker 1: It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it
- 49:22Speaker 1: gets the hose.
- 49:23Speaker 4: Agarrett, you let me go on home Press charges up
- 49:30Speaker 4: put the back. I don't sign Jersey.
- 49:36Speaker 8: Yeah, you definitely sound like it was like we've blurred
- 49:38Speaker 8: out their name and voice to protect their little bit.
- 49:42Speaker 7: Yeah, but there's one like other internet clip that it
- 49:45Speaker 7: sounds like, yeah, yeah, the first thing I thought of,
- 49:50Speaker 7: and then dumb ass tiers like great, that's that's that's
- 49:52Speaker 7: all I'm gonna hear.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Now, Absolutely, yeah, it's it's dead on.
- 49:56Speaker 3: I heard it.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Apparently Dave Grohl doesn't sign anything, not just guitar.
- 50:00Speaker 8: Oh really, Yeah, he thinks he's a bad everything.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Well because people will just sell them. Yeah. So yeah,
- 50:06Speaker 4: I get that. You're watched Silence of Land. Everybody's here
- 50:08Speaker 4: seen that that movie. I took an entire college class
- 50:11Speaker 4: on it. My wife just told me the other day
- 50:13Speaker 4: she plans to watch it for the first time the
- 50:15Speaker 4: first time between now and uh and Halloween. She's never
- 50:20Speaker 4: seen it. Well, we all have that. But what's I said?
- 50:22Speaker 4: I hadn't seen sixteen candles? Right, yeah, so good.
- 50:26Speaker 8: Yeah she's gonna love it.
- 50:28Speaker 4: I know how much you love musicals.
- 50:29Speaker 8: I love musicals.
- 50:31Speaker 4: How about the silence of the lamb musical?
- 50:36Speaker 11: It's told.
- 50:39Speaker 17: Stern gets the hose wornet Stoner's one more thing, simple little.
- 50:48Speaker 4: In the baskets in the basket. All these stupid women,
- 50:58Speaker 4: all the same.
- 51:01Speaker 3: Helps me not to think of their RESSU man, so
- 51:05Speaker 3: I call them instead of by their name.
- 51:10Speaker 6: Mister, Please, no more rabise. There's no excuse.
- 51:14Speaker 7: The family is probably wondering where Robbie.
- 51:18Speaker 3: You. So your skin gets a little stuff drying of
- 51:21Speaker 3: your big friend most just put on your skin.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Yeah you can watch it sometimes you could check it out.
- 51:28Speaker 8: Yeah, I need tickets.
- 51:30Speaker 4: Yeah, put lotion into bash is.
- 51:32Speaker 3: One thing that I don't sign because one thing that
- 51:36Speaker 3: you can raise money for charities, money on charity from
- 51:39Speaker 3: here right.
- 51:41Speaker 8: Absolutely denominated the.
- 51:43Speaker 18: Fact that much of the word morons is pretty good shown.
- 51:50Speaker 4: Hill out a new hour insensitivity for a politically correct world.
- 51:57Speaker 4: I'm one. That's great gory. We got menaced. Good morning
- 52:01Speaker 4: to you, Good morning sea Bass is here. Oh yeah,
- 52:03Speaker 4: we got Sammy, we got Morgan. Phones are open eight
- 52:07Speaker 4: seven seven. You can send us a text over to
- 52:11Speaker 4: two to nine eight seven if you like check in
- 52:13Speaker 4: with us, but we are checking in with Sea Bass.
- 52:15Speaker 4: Who's got this week in audio?
- 52:17Speaker 8: Via the form of our original trademark game.
- 52:19Speaker 4: Who dis you'll get music from a popular known artist.
- 52:24Speaker 4: You know this name? Does it have to be a musician?
- 52:27Speaker 4: Could just be a celebrity of some kind, right, eh,
- 52:29Speaker 4: Mike become a note?
- 52:30Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, it's a person, a name of notes. This
- 52:33Speaker 8: is their news song dream as one?
- 52:35Speaker 4: Who is okay? Who is.
- 52:40Speaker 15: Even through the chism Scott.
- 52:46Speaker 8: My dream? You know it is Miley Cyrus. But what sucks?
- 52:53Speaker 7: It definitely sounds like it's a musical for like soundtracks and.
- 52:58Speaker 4: Listen, Gray, you're doing a great job because it is
- 53:02Speaker 4: Miley Cyrus's new song for Yes, the next Avatar movie,
- 53:08Speaker 4: and she thought it couldn't suck anymore.
- 53:10Speaker 8: She sounds like Tricia Patus for anyone who heard.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Her voice for me is nails on a chalkboard, smoky,
- 53:18Speaker 4: like I don't like Stevie Nicks, I don't like Miley
- 53:21Speaker 4: Cyrus's boys. Yep, Well you don't like their speaking voices,
- 53:25Speaker 4: and the speaking voices either sound like dudes. I just
- 53:31Speaker 4: body whatever.
- 53:35Speaker 8: So you who knew we were having yet another Avatar movie?
- 53:38Speaker 7: That people?
- 53:38Speaker 4: I guess then who knew they've been hyping it?
- 53:40Speaker 10: Yeah, they've been hyping Avatar in general for fifteen years.
- 53:43Speaker 10: But I did no idea the third Avatar movie was out,
- 53:45Speaker 10: and we're gonna pretend we follow this series again.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Yeah, but never never saw a frame of it. I mean,
- 53:50Speaker 4: obviously I know what it is. I heard the rides dope. Yeah,
- 53:52Speaker 4: it is awesome at Disney in Orlando. For so in Orlando,
- 53:57Speaker 4: they have two rides for it. One is like kind
- 53:59Speaker 4: of like the was the Caribbean super boring? That one sucks,
- 54:03Speaker 4: But the other one that's like virtual reality like VR,
- 54:06Speaker 4: that is awesome, right next level. I've not been on it,
- 54:10Speaker 4: but I met with it.
- 54:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:12Speaker 4: I check it out on like Miley Cyrus's voice on,
- 54:14Speaker 4: like Millay Syrus's voice. Yeah, like if I ever had
- 54:16Speaker 4: a boner that wouldn't go away, like said, if a
- 54:19Speaker 4: bonner lasts more than you go see a doctor, just
- 54:22Speaker 4: put on Miley Cyrus' what do you like a fangirl
- 54:26Speaker 4: for Mia she's my number one.
- 54:28Speaker 6: Really, I would, honestly, that's the one girl I would
- 54:30Speaker 6: probably like scissors.
- 54:33Speaker 4: Clam slam with Miley Cyrus.
- 54:35Speaker 6: Like I'm waiting for the day I see her in
- 54:36Speaker 6: the hall.
- 54:37Speaker 4: Really, I love it. This is not on her as
- 54:40Speaker 4: a person. That again, it's just how you know the voice.
- 54:43Speaker 6: But I actually like her voice too.
- 54:44Speaker 8: But Morgan, I think she'd be down because remember she
- 54:46Speaker 8: did that cover with Ariana Grande. Was like flirting with
- 54:48Speaker 8: her the whole time.
- 54:49Speaker 4: I thought she was like a part time lesbian. Yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 4: I think she is part of Miley Cyrus.
- 54:52Speaker 6: She has a blast. I think she has a.
- 54:54Speaker 8: Category lesbian for attention.
- 54:57Speaker 4: Because that's like what's her face, the the other the
- 55:00Speaker 4: chick with the bows, what's her name? Yeah, I mean
- 55:09Speaker 4: part time lesbian.
- 55:10Speaker 8: You probably hate her voice. I guess I'm Jojo.
- 55:13Speaker 6: Yes, she's actually worse.
- 55:14Speaker 4: I can't. I can't place her voice. My daughter, my
- 55:17Speaker 4: daughter at one point was into all the bows when
- 55:20Speaker 4: those when that was a big thing. She's a yeller.
- 55:22Speaker 4: She always yelled.
- 55:24Speaker 6: She drives down with her face on the outside of
- 55:26Speaker 6: her car.
- 55:27Speaker 10: In case you're not sure, all right, This week and audio,
- 55:29Speaker 10: this one is specifically for Sammy that we've got before Halloween.
- 55:34Speaker 10: Our first Christmas song has been released. More on Christmas
- 55:37Speaker 10: is started. But it's it's they're doing it. There's doing
- 55:41Speaker 10: a normal, like a classic.
- 55:42Speaker 4: What do they call this? A standard?
- 55:43Speaker 8: Okay, Christmas time is here, Christmas time.
- 55:52Speaker 13: And she.
- 55:55Speaker 4: Should be apt the children Karen Carpenter Ai Karen Carpenter
- 56:04Speaker 4: from Beyond Title, and I guesses I really I do
- 56:13Speaker 4: like the vibe of the holiday season.
- 56:15Speaker 8: This is the most depressing.
- 56:17Speaker 4: I don't like the obligation of the like.
- 56:20Speaker 8: With the little kids the Peanuts. That's right.
- 56:24Speaker 4: I'm just gonna say, yeah, I'm just.
- 56:27Speaker 6: Gonna go like Katy Perry, I have.
- 56:28Speaker 4: No idea, Greg, you are much closer it is Trisha
- 56:32Speaker 4: Year would I like her? I like her cooking show,
- 56:36Speaker 4: at least in the music video that has to come
- 56:39Speaker 4: with that song, like Cookies.
- 56:42Speaker 7: There's stations already playing Christmas.
- 56:46Speaker 4: Yeah. I see the radio industry news every morning, I
- 56:48Speaker 4: get this newsletter or whatever, and every day now it's
- 56:51Speaker 4: the it's the daily thing from now till one of
- 56:54Speaker 4: all the stations that are going on now, the earlier
- 56:57Speaker 4: you go Christmas, that just means is a comple eat
- 57:00Speaker 4: format flip that station's gone and everybody's been fired. Ye,
- 57:03Speaker 4: Merry Christmas.
- 57:04Speaker 7: A couple of week scows like flipping around and there
- 57:07Speaker 7: was a station already on.
- 57:08Speaker 4: This crazy all right this weekend audio.
- 57:10Speaker 8: Al Right, So this next one, I'm not gonna lie
- 57:11Speaker 8: much tougher. The name you do know?
- 57:14Speaker 10: Uh, but and this is a musical artist. But she
- 57:16Speaker 10: has a new song about about AI called Artificial Angels.
- 57:20Speaker 4: Artificial Angels? Who is this is what it feels like
- 57:24Speaker 4: to be hunted by some face smarder than.
- 57:33Speaker 8: To warn you. It's annoying, It's horrible.
- 57:42Speaker 9: Grass I see myself here, Yeah, at a bar getting wasted, okay,
- 57:50Speaker 9: kind of like it is?
- 57:51Speaker 4: Alright, yes, me? Is this a name like Paul Room? Would?
- 57:55Speaker 4: Now you know the name?
- 57:57Speaker 5: You can?
- 57:58Speaker 4: Yes?
- 57:59Speaker 7: I have a grass?
- 58:00Speaker 4: Is it grime? What's what's a guest rhymes? She's a
- 58:07Speaker 4: weirdo experimental musical artist, as you can hear.
- 58:10Speaker 7: She always has been.
- 58:11Speaker 4: But yeah, I never knew, I never knew her music.
- 58:13Speaker 4: Said it like, I hate I hate all the vocal
- 58:17Speaker 4: parts of it, but I like the music. Yeah, the
- 58:20Speaker 4: music part. It's got the heavy industrial nine inch nail
- 58:23Speaker 4: stuff that Greg likes totally and she has an elon baby,
- 58:28Speaker 4: which I like.
- 58:31Speaker 8: Oh dash beat.
- 58:34Speaker 4: The gay bars are gonna love their yeah yeah again.
- 58:38Speaker 4: If you can just take out all the yeah, we
- 58:41Speaker 4: just take out all the singing. Yeah, it'd be cool.
- 58:43Speaker 4: We can use that for a when we come back
- 58:45Speaker 4: from a commercial break, you know. So it sounds like
- 58:47Speaker 4: one of those things. You know, we're gonna honor you
- 58:49Speaker 4: with our coming back from commercial music.
- 58:51Speaker 7: But that's why the whole.
- 58:52Speaker 4: Room know her name once you said it. I know
- 58:55Speaker 4: from the news, you know. Yeah, all right, Well, we're
- 58:57Speaker 4: gonna take a quick break. We'll come back. We've got
- 58:59Speaker 4: some more Woody Show for you. Phones open eight seven
- 59:03Speaker 4: seven forty four Woody. You can send us a text
- 59:05Speaker 4: over to two to nine eight seven. How dumb are
- 59:10Speaker 4: you on the wood Show. I'll be right back. Welcome back, everybody, right,
- 59:19Speaker 4: you recognize the song? This is the song we were
- 59:27Speaker 4: just playing by grinds it. I said, man, this would
- 59:30Speaker 4: be really good if you just took all the lyrics
- 59:31Speaker 4: out of it and talk about So I just stripped
- 59:34Speaker 4: all the vocals out of it.
- 59:36Speaker 8: This sounds way better.
- 59:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 59:37Speaker 4: See, this doesn't sound bad.
- 59:40Speaker 19: The original.
- 59:41Speaker 4: I'm saying, we just get rid of all her vocals
- 59:43Speaker 4: and stuff. Oh, by the way, somebody got really mad
- 59:45Speaker 4: that I don't like Miley Cyrus's voice. Can you imagine
- 59:49Speaker 4: being a fan of something and just because somebody isn't
- 59:52Speaker 4: also a fan and says anything that, you know whatever,
- 59:55Speaker 4: taking this guy. The audacity of the slam Miley's voice.
- 59:59Speaker 4: I said, myle Cyrus's voice is like nails on a
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: chocolate And I did point out, just for this, just
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: for a record, that this is nothing about her as
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: a person or anything like that. It's just it's just
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: the voice. It's not for me. The audacity to slam
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: Miley's voice when we all have to sit through hours
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: of fart, jokes, man humor and a group of people
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: that clearly hate each other but play it up on
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: the air just for a chance of getting a couple
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: of laughs in the morning, is insane. Insane, especially when
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: you're working in the music industry. Non Morgan and Menace
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: are the only ones with class. Being an a hole
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: for attention is worse than being a lesbian for attention.
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Imagine getting like that invested in fandom that city.
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: They started off the text wrong, though, said have to
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: listen to.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Yea anyway, back to this week and.
- 1:00:51Speaker 10: Audio, and we got some more seasonal appropriate issues here
- 1:00:54Speaker 10: with pumpkin theft. Yes, people are stealing pumpkins, so well
- 1:01:01Speaker 10: not well, okay.
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: We'll get into that.
- 1:01:02Speaker 10: This is from Inside Edition, who's got some audio from
- 1:01:04Speaker 10: a man and the family whose pumpkins were stolen.
- 1:01:07Speaker 15: Oh no, America is being hit by a wave of
- 1:01:10Speaker 15: pumpkin porch pirates. So why all the pumpkin thefts? While
- 1:01:14Speaker 15: prices could be a big reason, Just Grolo says, this
- 1:01:18Speaker 15: guy absconded with two pumpkins that her daughter Leah had
- 1:01:22Speaker 15: grown on the family's property in Michigan.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: How did seven year.
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: Old Leah feel?
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: Heartbroken?
- 1:01:30Speaker 8: Heartbroken?
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: Absconded, absconded, I don't.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: What in context? Oh, they stole them.
- 1:01:39Speaker 8: I mean yeah, they took.
- 1:01:40Speaker 15: Off, says this guy absconded with two pumpkins that her
- 1:01:44Speaker 15: daughter Leah had grown on the family's property.
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: Yeah, this is like, just say stole, yeah, just say yeah.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: Gang just said that.
- 1:01:56Speaker 9: Pins wuld be as much as four or five dollars.
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: And that's the thing, if you afford one, you should
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: just steal one.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: Walk up to a porch. And this was, by the way,
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: as we're about to hear this is an old man
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: who just who drove his car up, walked up to
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: a porch, saw two pumpkins at a residential neighborhood, and
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: said those are for me. I'll be taking this here
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: pumpkins again.
- 1:02:15Speaker 7: So I'm just gonna well, abscond these Like, okay, what
- 1:02:20Speaker 7: with the okay, what what is the actual purpose of
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: saying abscond instead of just sound fancy?
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Yeah? Well, also it's a variety a journalist, goddamn it,
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: because subscond also, but see, every word has subtexts, so
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: like abscond really means to take and and run away
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: with essentially, So like if Greg were to, let's say,
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: take your wallet off the desk, he wouldn't really be
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: absconding with it. He might be furtively placing it in
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: his front list. Then nobody understand what the hell you're
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: saying your story, then they have to google it.
- 1:02:51Speaker 10: Well, okay, so they got they caught this guy on video,
- 1:02:53Speaker 10: which is why we have this story. Uh he They
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: released it to the local you know, neighborhood Facebook pages
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: or next door or whatever, and the.
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: Dude showed up.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Oh yeah, here's the audio.
- 1:03:02Speaker 15: Mom says the day after she posted the video, the
- 1:03:04Speaker 15: guy who took the pumpkins reappeared.
- 1:03:07Speaker 13: He did bring back two big pumpkins, and then he
- 1:03:11Speaker 13: looked on the camera and he said, sorry.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: Sorry, take that pumpkin pirates.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: There's this guy like in his seventies.
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: He two separate different pumpkins. Don't know what he did
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: with the first ones. He probably carved him. I knew
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: I'd get caught.
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: They look good.
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: Weird thing to do this weekend audio speaking of spooky
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: says there's a reason to watch one of those ghost
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: hunting shows. I think the only people who I know
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: who watch ghosting shows are is your aunt Chrissy. She
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: loves that stuff because I don't know, I don't know
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: why you watch it because nothing ever happens. I guess
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: what they've ever They never found a ghost.
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: I can't watch any of those. All it is is like,
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: did you hear that?
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: A night pitching cameras so it must be with a
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: tape recorder. Where are you? And then they play it back.
- 1:04:06Speaker 10: I'm here like, okay, well, something actually interesting happened happened
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: on one of those shows. Uh, this is one. It's
- 1:04:12Speaker 10: called Ghost Adventures. And here is some some audio of
- 1:04:15Speaker 10: the show as well as a little voiceover to tell
- 1:04:17Speaker 10: you about it.
- 1:04:17Speaker 14: Suddenly, Aaron gets a notification on his phone and we
- 1:04:21Speaker 14: can sense something is wrong.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Dude, Okay, well.
- 1:04:27Speaker 14: But at this point we will not be showing any
- 1:04:31Speaker 14: further footage.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: But it is at this moment that.
- 1:04:34Speaker 14: Aaron receives a call from the police that his wife
- 1:04:37Speaker 14: has been arrested and charged.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: With conspiracy to commit murder by hiring a hit man
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: to have Aaron kill. That's the show. Yeah, we've had
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: forty five seasons of people not by the Ghosts. Ghost
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: Adventures sounds okay, I'll watch that episode. Sounds better than
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: Goat Adventures is going to be the end of Goat Adventures.
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: Sounds way better, okay, And then we're not gonna talk
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: about this further, is what Sorry, this is.
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: About to get interesting. Top the tape.
- 1:05:08Speaker 10: Yeah, so this was apparently this has been unfolding in
- 1:05:12Speaker 10: court as this has been that was taped earlier of
- 1:05:14Speaker 10: the Ghosting Adventuring.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a real thing.
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: This was a hit man on a guy who runs
- 1:05:19Speaker 10: a ghosts hosts for all his ghost money.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: In a case you're wondering, good adventures old clip that
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: we played on the show this guy, uh, he has
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: a goat, like a stubborn goat that was like on
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: top of his jeep and he was mad at the goat, like, oh,
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: come on, what are you doing? Come on, get off
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: the jeep. No, no way, Come on, babe. The ghosts
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: from top of my jeep. How did you get up there?
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Come come here, Suirley, come on. This is a big
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: no note. That is going to be the end of
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: good adventures. That's right, that's it, guys, You're own it.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: No more good adventures.
- 1:06:05Speaker 10: This week in audio, well, speaking of ghosts and AI
- 1:06:08Speaker 10: and all that stuff. Channel four in the UK they
- 1:06:11Speaker 10: did a report on AI, you know, as everybody's doing
- 1:06:13Speaker 10: these days.
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: But at the end there was a special twist.
- 1:06:17Speaker 20: AI is going to touch everybody's lives in the next
- 1:06:20Speaker 20: few years, and for some it will take the jobs,
- 1:06:23Speaker 20: calls center workers, customer service agents, maybe even TV presenters
- 1:06:28Speaker 20: like me because I'm not real.
- 1:06:30Speaker 17: Whoa, because I'm not real, I still talk like, yeah,
- 1:06:41Speaker 17: this could have been fixed.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: In posts.
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: We've already posted videos like that news reporters and we said, like,
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: you know, Greig was taking a major dump that word.
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: It looks legit.
- 1:06:52Speaker 10: And because if all you need is somebody doing a
- 1:06:53Speaker 10: voiceover on a random street, you know, somewhere in jolly
- 1:06:56Speaker 10: old England, what do we want to pay someone to
- 1:06:59Speaker 10: go out there for?
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: It?
- 1:07:00Speaker 14: Is?
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: He masked with this week I audio on audio here.
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: This is from a Thurston County sheriff. A d u
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: I arrest happened and this guy crashed his car, ran
- 1:07:08Speaker 4: out through the woods. I used to had a great
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: time running away until he tripped himself up in a
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: bar or sorry, not a bobbed wire fence. Bobbed wire.
- 1:07:16Speaker 4: Menace was convinced it was bobbed wire. So it's very
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: funny because he was like upside down by his shoes
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: and they pull him out and get him bobbed, get
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: him back in the cop car.
- 1:07:25Speaker 10: When he gets back in the cop car, courtesy of
- 1:07:27Speaker 10: the onboard cameras, this happens.
- 1:07:34Speaker 19: Sorry, he couldn't have told you about you.
- 1:07:43Speaker 16: God stood there.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: Peeping from Menace. Yeah, it's almost goes the Randy bar
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: thing that was the Papa John's garlic sauce that he
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: was chugging.
- 1:07:56Speaker 8: I can't that happens.
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: Held they sold him by like a gown. Yeah, and
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: then he was just like not having a good time.
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, oh god, because the saw so much thicker
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: than like your beer. So you get into U I
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: now you've puked in the back of the car. Oh boy, God. Sorry, yeah,
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: sorry about that.
- 1:08:22Speaker 19: Just come on, dog, sorry, sit in it.
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: Oh there he is.
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: Oh yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: So yeah they plastic seats.
- 1:08:41Speaker 7: I like that. But you hit a point where you
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: feel like you just don't have anymore, but you keep
- 1:08:46Speaker 7: on going.
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it's what's up with? What's going? So sports were
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Jeff G. Hey, good morning, Jeff g.
- 1:08:58Speaker 21: Good morning, and good morning squad. Thursday, everybody. The World
- 1:09:01Speaker 21: Series kicks off tomorrow in Toronto. Dodgers are already there.
- 1:09:04Speaker 21: They flew out yesterday. You know, Dodgers' first baseman, Freddie Freeman,
- 1:09:08Speaker 21: lost his mom when he was only ten years old,
- 1:09:10Speaker 21: and Toronto is a very special place to him.
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: Listen to this.
- 1:09:14Speaker 18: Both my parents are born and raised in Canada, especially
- 1:09:16Speaker 18: in the providence of Ontario, comm from the Toronto area.
- 1:09:19Speaker 18: Dad from Windsor, So it is special.
- 1:09:23Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:09:23Speaker 18: Every time I go there, it just kind of you
- 1:09:25Speaker 18: just have this like feeling inside that you feel just
- 1:09:27Speaker 18: a little bit closer.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: To my mom.
- 1:09:29Speaker 21: Hopefully Freddie enjoys his time up there in Toronto with
- 1:09:32Speaker 21: his family, and hopefully he does well for our Dodgers
- 1:09:34Speaker 21: out on the field. Don't forget you can win your
- 1:09:36Speaker 21: tickets right here to the World Series on the Woody
- 1:09:39Speaker 21: Show Tappy in every morning five to ten. Moving on
- 1:09:42Speaker 21: to the NFL Thursday Night Football. My Chargers are hosting
- 1:09:45Speaker 21: the Vikings. Chargers are favored by three and a half.
- 1:09:47Speaker 21: NBA Jazz beat the Clippers by twenty one in their
- 1:09:50Speaker 21: season debut. And you know, Charles, Kenny, Shack and Ernie
- 1:09:53Speaker 21: made their debut on ESPN last night and they didn't
- 1:09:57Speaker 21: miss a beat.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: Listen to this.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: I was nervous today, not gonna lie because every person
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: who's ever touch the ball wanted to be on ESPN.
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: They are the greatest sports network ever and to be
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: working with these guys is on an ap privilege.
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: It is do you want to nap?
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: If all like kissing?
- 1:10:14Speaker 21: That was some heavy ass kissing by Charles Barkley Man
- 1:10:17Speaker 21: NHL Ducks and Boston today at four pm, Kings in
- 1:10:20Speaker 21: Dallas at six pm, and finally this morning, multiple NBA
- 1:10:23Speaker 21: players including Terry Rozier and a coach Chauncey Billups were
- 1:10:28Speaker 21: arrested by the FBI for gambling violations, including betting on
- 1:10:31Speaker 21: games and holding private high stake poker games. Listen, when
- 1:10:35Speaker 21: are people gonna learn just because you make tens of
- 1:10:37Speaker 21: millions of dollars doesn't make you above the law. Well,
- 1:10:41Speaker 21: unless you're a politician. I'm JEFFG. And that's your SoCal
- 1:10:43Speaker 21: sports all.
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: Right, Jeff, Yeah, okay. And you know what I like
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: about Greg Fitzsimmons. I liked that he is scheduled for
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: a certain time and shows up early early. You've had
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: it before with someone's schedule and then they never even
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: make it. Yeah, they show up or they're like an
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: hour late. But no, no, Greg Fitzsimmons is here, cool
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: and early. Good to see you.
- 1:11:11Speaker 16: It's about late because uh Woody asked me to come
- 1:11:15Speaker 16: in at I live in Venice.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: Can you come in at seven am?
- 1:11:19Speaker 16: I'm like, I do comedy at night, so I'm actually
- 1:11:24Speaker 16: morning radio.
- 1:11:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm late compared to any want to be here.
- 1:11:27Speaker 16: Yeah, but no, good to see you guys. Thanks for
- 1:11:30Speaker 16: having me in. We got we got a big benefit
- 1:11:33Speaker 16: that I'm promoting.
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so that's that's what he hit me. Up goes, Hey,
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: I'm doing this thing, this you know charity think a
- 1:11:38Speaker 4: big benefit and I won't know if any any time
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: to come in. I'm like, of course. We also say,
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: like you know, certain people have an open invite and
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: they can come in. And we moved Heaven and Earth.
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: We moved all the really big, fun, exciting segments around
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: to make sure that we can accommodate you coming in
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: this week.
- 1:11:55Speaker 16: I have a flatter, thank you so much. Let me thankful,
- 1:11:57Speaker 16: huge fan of the show. And why do you guys laugh?
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: But because people.
- 1:12:06Speaker 16: Seven it's my first preset. Yeah, I don't like the music,
- 1:12:10Speaker 16: but I like you.
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: Guys a lot.
- 1:12:13Speaker 8: Make two of us too.
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: We neither do one.
- 1:12:18Speaker 7: Yeah, what's the shore though?
- 1:12:19Speaker 16: It like it's it's called best Buddies and it's uh
- 1:12:23Speaker 16: people with intellectual disabilities.
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: I started working with them like fifteen years ago.
- 1:12:27Speaker 16: They helped them find housing, internships, jobs, and so I
- 1:12:31Speaker 16: do a comedy show once a year.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: This year we got Andrew Santino.
- 1:12:35Speaker 16: Craig Robinson, Ron Funches, and Andy Letterman and a big
- 1:12:39Speaker 16: surprise guest Sunday Night at the comedy store.
- 1:12:42Speaker 5: Tickets at fitsdog dot com.
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: When you say that like what, uh, what is it intellectual?
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: What is it intellectual disability?
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: Intellectual disability? So is that like a nice way of saying, no,
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: it's what does that? Does it mean?
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: I have an app?
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: What does a cover?
- 1:13:01Speaker 16: I have an app? And it spins out what the
- 1:13:04Speaker 16: new name is as it changes.
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm just wondering, like I'm legit asking that question.
- 1:13:10Speaker 16: Autism downs some are very high functioning. We have a
- 1:13:14Speaker 16: guy who does the show every year who is who
- 1:13:18Speaker 16: has autism, and I kind of mentor on how to
- 1:13:21Speaker 16: do stand up comedy and he, uh, he will be
- 1:13:24Speaker 16: there this year and he crushes.
- 1:13:28Speaker 10: Well, we got a guy too, Yeah, he's standing giving
- 1:13:32Speaker 10: the intellectual disability in the room.
- 1:13:35Speaker 4: Do you not have a spectrum somewhere?
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: No?
- 1:13:38Speaker 10: I think that's it's very fashionable to claim you're on
- 1:13:40Speaker 10: the spectrum these days.
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: But that doesn't mean it's not true.
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: But we've talked about it, like legitimately, yeah, I've never
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: been never been tested, everybody, but do you believe that
- 1:13:46Speaker 4: you even you believe that you?
- 1:13:48Speaker 10: I think well, like Elon Musk claims Asperger's and I
- 1:13:50Speaker 10: think anybody who's like smart can basically do that.
- 1:13:53Speaker 4: But the.
- 1:13:56Speaker 10: Claim, oh did you guys see, I got my new
- 1:13:58Speaker 10: truck nuts from my cyber truck, very cool.
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: Three D printhos for on eve.
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: I put a painted black glossy so it matches.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: That's really cool. Yeah, that's really cool.
- 1:14:16Speaker 8: Thankler.
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: Greg Fitzsimmons is here. His lit a special you know Mate,
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: streaming now on YouTube. He also has his own podcast
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: and fitz Dog Radio podcast. You can listen to it
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: on his website, Greg Fitzsimmons dot com. Uh, we're right
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: in the middle of wrapping up a segment so we
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: can make room for the big Greg Fitzsimmons appearance, fitz
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: Simmons appearance, So let's wrap it up. What we got
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: this weekend audio.
- 1:14:36Speaker 10: This is some audio from church Bishop Marvin Winans. He's
- 1:14:40Speaker 10: collecting donations and.
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: This guy he's doing a big presentation where if you
- 1:14:45Speaker 4: have a big dollar donation, you come up to the
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: front of the podium and tell the whole church how
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: much you're donating.
- 1:14:50Speaker 10: And this lady she drops off some checks. But the bishop,
- 1:14:53Speaker 10: you know, he has some questions about these checks.
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: Hi, ROBERTA.
- 1:14:56Speaker 22: McCoy given faith and stand in unity with the VISI
- 1:15:00Speaker 22: in a perfected Church of sewing this seed of one
- 1:15:02Speaker 22: thousand dollars plus two hundred and thirty five dollars and
- 1:15:07Speaker 22: receiving the blessings to come to all that participating, and.
- 1:15:10Speaker 4: You were thinking like, yeah, that's nicely. So if you
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: have a big dollar donation, you get to go up
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: and talk.
- 1:15:16Speaker 8: Well that's the idea, now tell everybody.
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: So she comes up and she presents this in front
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: of the whole church to the pastor's blessings. His reaction
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: is this and that's only twelve hundred dollars. Yes, y'all not.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: Listening to what I'm saying.
- 1:15:31Speaker 16: If you have a thousand plus one thousand, okay, I'm
- 1:15:35Speaker 16: gonna work.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: On the other hand, well, that ain't what I asked.
- 1:15:38Speaker 3: You to do.
- 1:15:40Speaker 4: Oh my god. And then right into a number church number.
- 1:15:45Speaker 8: Wow, that doesn't seem very Christian.
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: So here's it, now, garbage. This is they've explained. It
- 1:15:50Speaker 4: is that jewish, right, I mean, is that what you're saying?
- 1:15:51Speaker 8: Now, that's funny, you said, I get it.
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: Okay, they said, he said, it's ahead of time. Let's
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: start with the two thousand dollars up.
- 1:15:58Speaker 10: So that's when he said a thousand plus A found
- 1:16:00Speaker 10: were listening and she didn't pay attention with her Measley
- 1:16:02Speaker 10: twelve hundred.
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: Right, she couldn't hear over her sad check, Yeah, twelve
- 1:16:07Speaker 8: hundred bucks is I mean what God doesn't look at that.
- 1:16:10Speaker 7: There was some video going viral just recently where the
- 1:16:14Speaker 7: pastor pulled out his gold Bentley onto the stage and
- 1:16:18Speaker 7: he started talking about it.
- 1:16:20Speaker 8: Are you going to tie that?
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: I'm like, how are.
- 1:16:22Speaker 4: You gonna, like, with a straight face, yeah, do.
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: That and still go to that church.
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: I went to church growing Catholic, the real church.
- 1:16:30Speaker 16: Yeah, black church, all white with rock bands like Jesus.
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: Was no amps.
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: Yeah, and that was it.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:39Speaker 16: Our priests were broke. They were like hippies. They lived
- 1:16:43Speaker 16: upstairs in the in the rectory.
- 1:16:45Speaker 8: Oh they really did.
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: Yeah, they lived upstairs.
- 1:16:48Speaker 16: And they were like you know that one of them
- 1:16:50Speaker 16: was having sex with the women in town. I found
- 1:16:52Speaker 16: out she was like all right, it was an adult Yeah, yeah,
- 1:16:56Speaker 16: thank you taking a break from from the kids.
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: And uh. Father McDonough. He used to come up with
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: an acoustic guitar.
- 1:17:02Speaker 16: And play Morning Is Broken by Kat Stevens who's now
- 1:17:05Speaker 16: a Muslim church like Christian stuff.
- 1:17:10Speaker 5: Now.
- 1:17:10Speaker 16: It was a great It was a great Catholic Church
- 1:17:13Speaker 16: and and I have the Lord Jesus Christ in my heart,
- 1:17:16Speaker 16: I just don't have him in my head.
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that's my financial plans right exactly. Yeah. This week
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: in audio, we would do our version of The Golden Bachelor,
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: the Golden Bachelorette. And I go through our audio services
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: here and they give us clips. Oh, check out what's
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: happening on the Real Golden Bachelor. And I listened to
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: this and I'm like, what, what? What are people doing?
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: How is this interesting? You take a listen?
- 1:17:38Speaker 8: All right, are you in love with my mom?
- 1:17:40Speaker 6: Have you told her that.
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: I'm not in love with your mom yet? Because I
- 1:17:45Speaker 4: don't know I'm on that stage yet.
- 1:17:47Speaker 8: Okay, do you think you can get there by the
- 1:17:49Speaker 8: end of this journey?
- 1:17:50Speaker 6: I mean we're looking.
- 1:17:51Speaker 4: At I don't know.
- 1:17:53Speaker 15: But if you don't get there with any of these women, are.
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: You gonna just say, hey, I'd still like to date
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: the end of this. I don't know. Wow, Ours is
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: way better.
- 1:18:03Speaker 8: Yeah, it's pretty ribical. I think Greg would be more
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: interest in ours.
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: Also, like, how long have they even been hanging out?
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: Well, that's like a week. A dumb question always been No,
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: I just better see Greg we do a version of
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: this when they have this on ABC. We do a
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: version on our show called Woody Show a Golden Bachelorette.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: And so Sea Bass goes on the old lady webcam
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: sites and he talks to the nice old ladies who
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: are wearing like vibrating panties. Yeah, guilf dot com, guilt
- 1:18:32Speaker 4: dot com, Yeah, and and talk to them and it's
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: very nice and it's very respectful, asking them if.
- 1:18:37Speaker 10: You give them, you can give them a dollar and
- 1:18:39Speaker 10: it'll it's connected to the thing and their panties and yeah, yeah, here.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: I'll give you.
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: Uh, you don't have any feeling left down there.
- 1:18:46Speaker 8: That's probably true.
- 1:18:48Speaker 4: By the judging by the reaction, I think they do
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: either that they're faking, which I can't imagine. Yeah, here's
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: just here's an example. Yeah, he just trying to get
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: to my fall up. And I love fall It's my
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: favorite time of year.
- 1:19:03Speaker 7: What are you talking about, yes, Sebastian, I love it.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: It's when when Yeah, so, like the thing is like
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: a what how much like thirty cents at a time
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: dollar dollar? They only get thirty Yeah, So that's that's
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: that's the that's like the digital version of throwing the
- 1:19:26Speaker 4: money up on the stage of the strip class. Didn't
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: you hear how how meaning? Like how real that was? Like, oh, Sebastian,
- 1:19:32Speaker 4: that's so good. Yeah, yeah, I believe this one's a
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: little bit more convincing. I am where and he talks
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: to these chicks and yeah, there's tips going back and forth.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: It's fun.
- 1:19:48Speaker 8: Wait are you hard way way better?
- 1:19:50Speaker 16: Well, it's just I have a vision of you know,
- 1:19:53Speaker 16: my mom's pension is running out, and that's nice to
- 1:19:56Speaker 16: know there's options besides being a Walmart greater right for
- 1:20:00Speaker 16: the next chapter.
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: Yeah, you don't have to leave the house. You have
- 1:20:03Speaker 8: to leave the bedroom.
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: Somebody somebody had a question on the on the text
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: about Yeah, I really want to know how Sea Bass
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: handles the Golden Bachelor situation during his time. Is he looking?
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: Is it gross?
- 1:20:15Speaker 13: Like?
- 1:20:15Speaker 4: How is he handling it? The questions are hilarious. But
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: is he like sitting there joeing? Does he have to
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: look away? Oh my god, I'm dying. It cracks me up.
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: It does take Yeah, I am taking care of myself.
- 1:20:27Speaker 4: Show everyone one handed type.
- 1:20:29Speaker 7: I've actually watched Sea Bass like Recourse some of these,
- 1:20:32Speaker 7: and it is like cuckingchair all.
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: Right, Well, Greg fitz Simmons is here. We're gonna take
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: a quick break. More with Greg is alloted. Time actually
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: starts here in this next hour. We get into that
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: next on The Woody Show. Hang on, what is weird
- 1:20:52Speaker 4: the wood Show? Greg Fitzsimmons is here. Yeah, yeah, thank
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: you for coming in and being here. And you know,
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: always like having you on the show. And I mean, look,
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: I like the vibe. The vibe is a good is
- 1:21:07Speaker 4: a good fit. It's a good it's a good hang.
- 1:21:09Speaker 4: It's always it's always fun, great storyteller. Who do you
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: think is really killing it right now? As far as
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: comedy goes, who are the guys in your opinion? Like,
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: we like your comedy, so like who do you like? Yeah?
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: Who do you think?
- 1:21:21Speaker 16: David Teal is always, to me the best comedian of
- 1:21:24Speaker 16: the country. He has been for twenty years and if
- 1:21:26Speaker 16: you get a chance to see him.
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: Yeah, especially since I mean he's a club comic.
- 1:21:30Speaker 16: I mean, Louis c K to me is the best
- 1:21:33Speaker 16: comedian period in the last really twenty years.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: But he's a theater comic.
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: Okay, Dave love comic is David is a down.
- 1:21:42Speaker 5: In dirty basement comic.
- 1:21:44Speaker 16: Yeah, who riffs, who messes with the crowd, who stream
- 1:21:48Speaker 16: of consciousness right, and then also has the hardest, tightest
- 1:21:52Speaker 16: comedy out there.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: And then Louis is just brilliant.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: Yeah, bro, I didn't know much about him until he
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: started blowing up. Was like Shane Gillis, Oh yeah, you're
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: a new fan of his, right. Anthony jessel Nick is
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: another guy that Shane loves.
- 1:22:05Speaker 5: Shane.
- 1:22:05Speaker 16: Yeah, and then you know, you got there's some guys
- 1:22:07Speaker 16: out of New York, Mark Norman and Sam Morrell and
- 1:22:11Speaker 16: Jo List. There's a whole bunch of these guys that
- 1:22:13Speaker 16: are like, you know, a generation behind me that are
- 1:22:16Speaker 16: really really like, you know, there are people that are
- 1:22:19Speaker 16: not looking to parlay comedy into a TV career or whatever.
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: They just are pure road comics.
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: Yeah. You know what keeps popping up to is uh
- 1:22:29Speaker 4: uh British Jimmy Carr. Oh yeah, that's amazing. The dude
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: he's sharp.
- 1:22:36Speaker 16: He's so damn if you hear him in interviews, he's like,
- 1:22:39Speaker 16: you know, these British comics they make me ashamed because
- 1:22:43Speaker 16: they're just they're just like I had a guy on
- 1:22:47Speaker 16: uh the other day, on my podcast, Bridge something Bridge and.
- 1:22:53Speaker 4: Like but he was on your show and you can't
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: remember his name.
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: I don't remember anything.
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: Like tomorrow somebody said he was m Greig literal. Really,
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: I don't do something. It's yeah something I know.
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: It's a goldfish ash every last.
- 1:23:09Speaker 16: So funny, and he's like he learned different languages and
- 1:23:12Speaker 16: he performs in different languages, and it's like, you know,
- 1:23:15Speaker 16: I I just want to, you know, touch myself and
- 1:23:19Speaker 16: sleep and then go do the show.
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: Yeah, when I'm on the road.
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: Yeah, we could check out fitz Dog Radio podcast. It's
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: a it's available. We can get right there on the
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: website Greg Fitzsimmons dot com. Yeah. I see these guys
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: or like the Jimmy Carr thing, and just in general,
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: I'm always impressed by comedians. Is it is it hard?
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: Like what's the hardest part? Is it just being on
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: the road part? And then the comedy part is just
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: a talent either have or you don't have? Or Yeah,
- 1:23:45Speaker 4: I say they I do comedy for free, but they
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: pay me to travel. Yeah that makes sense.
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: I was just in Vegas last week.
- 1:23:54Speaker 16: Brad Garrett has a club and at the MGM, and
- 1:23:57Speaker 16: it's a beautiful club and Brad comes down and does
- 1:24:00Speaker 16: of the shows, and he is the greatest guy of
- 1:24:03Speaker 16: all time.
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: He just is super generous.
- 1:24:06Speaker 16: Like last time I was there, it was Valentine's Day
- 1:24:08Speaker 16: and we couldn't find a table because it was Vegas,
- 1:24:10Speaker 16: and and so Brad got us a separate room in
- 1:24:15Speaker 16: the best restaurant, the MGM. We had our own there's
- 1:24:17Speaker 16: like a speakeasy room that opens later. He had them
- 1:24:20Speaker 16: open it just for us. We had our own waiter.
- 1:24:23Speaker 16: Uh picked up the check at the end of the
- 1:24:26Speaker 16: meetum there. He just like gave me a huge bonus,
- 1:24:31Speaker 16: took me out gambling and just kept throwing hundreds in
- 1:24:33Speaker 16: front of me.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: And he's just really and he's just he's just the
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: greatest guy.
- 1:24:38Speaker 16: But anyway, it's seven nights and you know, you real,
- 1:24:42Speaker 16: like Vegas is a horrible place and you go there
- 1:24:46Speaker 16: and it's just like, you know, I'm gambling. I'm playing, Uh,
- 1:24:52Speaker 16: I'm playing blackjack, be ause I figured how much can
- 1:24:55Speaker 16: I lose playing blackjackets A lot a lot. When you
- 1:24:57Speaker 16: get the dealer, you know, the dealer who's like from
- 1:25:00Speaker 16: some southeastern Pacific.
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: Island you've never heard of.
- 1:25:04Speaker 16: She's got like nine vowels in her name and she
- 1:25:06Speaker 16: gets a twenty one every single time, like she's doing
- 1:25:10Speaker 16: witchcraft and stuff. At one point she gets to two
- 1:25:13Speaker 16: and then a three and then a sixteen of spades.
- 1:25:17Speaker 16: I'm like, wait, I want to play again. And I
- 1:25:23Speaker 16: walk out to see your picture on the wall. Employee
- 1:25:26Speaker 16: of the month.
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: That's not what you want.
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: Yeah, she's their best table person.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:25:31Speaker 16: And then you've got like seven nights a week. Is
- 1:25:34Speaker 16: Saturday night there and you see gaggles of women. Is
- 1:25:37Speaker 16: it called a gaggle jeans the gaggle. Yeah, once it's
- 1:25:39Speaker 16: over three, it's a gaggle. And on their way out,
- 1:25:43Speaker 16: they've got on, you know, five inch heels, the hairs up,
- 1:25:47Speaker 16: the sparkles.
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: They're ready to go out.
- 1:25:48Speaker 16: And then I see them after the show on their
- 1:25:50Speaker 16: way home and the shoes are in the hand, and
- 1:25:53Speaker 16: I thought that means you can't hit on those girls anymore.
- 1:25:58Speaker 16: They're out of the game. They're still on the field,
- 1:26:00Speaker 16: but they're out of the game. It's like eight ball.
- 1:26:02Speaker 16: If someone's got a splatter on them, you can't shoot
- 1:26:04Speaker 16: them again.
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a football player. Yeah, yeah, the football player.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: After the game he takes he's carrying like the jersey
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: that still has the pads and yeah, like he's not
- 1:26:14Speaker 4: ready to go in and play anymore. So it's just
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: really like because I think every time I see comedians
- 1:26:19Speaker 4: or talked, didn't hang out, you know with comedians, it
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: just seems like everybody's always having fun, right you see
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: it that way? Yeah? Yeah, like because like, uh, okay,
- 1:26:29Speaker 4: last time that I saw you not in this environment
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: was at Burt Kreischer's event in Pittsburgh at the PBG
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: Paints Arena and he had like this big like after
- 1:26:40Speaker 4: party thing and a bunch of Steelers players were there
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: and all these other dudes were there, and like everybody's
- 1:26:45Speaker 4: just kind of hanging out and having a good time.
- 1:26:47Speaker 4: And that's when you know, Greg and I were just
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: sitting there chopping it up and everything, and it's just
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: they'll do it again tomorrow after after the next show,
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: just wherever they're at. It would be a different group
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: of friends or people that are fans that come by
- 1:26:58Speaker 4: to this like after party toys like that. Always seems
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: to be having the best time with him in Pittsburgh
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: all day and all we did is go shopping and yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: I know you're more you're more on the quiet side,
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: like you're not throwing like a big after party a discretion.
- 1:27:16Speaker 5: That makes it differently. I struggle on the road.
- 1:27:20Speaker 7: Have you tried not having it?
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: Have you just tried?
- 1:27:24Speaker 16: It? Actually is the answer. I mean it literally is
- 1:27:27Speaker 16: just sometimes you just got to go. I just don't
- 1:27:29Speaker 16: feel this way right now.
- 1:27:30Speaker 8: Ye just don't don't act this way.
- 1:27:32Speaker 16: And but you know, uh, I just when I'm on
- 1:27:37Speaker 16: the road, it's just like I've got my this is
- 1:27:41Speaker 16: got really heavy. But no, I mean, I I have
- 1:27:45Speaker 16: fun like I'm married, but like I will have sex
- 1:27:48Speaker 16: with waitresses like that, and then I don't drink.
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: But when I go on the road, I'll drink.
- 1:27:53Speaker 8: Oh it doesn't count.
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: That's kind of like when cigarettes don't count drinking.
- 1:27:59Speaker 16: I mean, when you're so and you're not screwing around
- 1:28:01Speaker 16: your wife, like this is just not that much because
- 1:28:04Speaker 16: the staff will be like, hey, we're going out to
- 1:28:06Speaker 16: the you know, the the whatever bar, and I'm like,
- 1:28:10Speaker 16: for what, I don't drink.
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: I'm not gonna hit on it. This is going to
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: only lead to trouble.
- 1:28:15Speaker 4: Are you an anti social person?
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Outside of it social Like I live in Veniceon.
- 1:28:21Speaker 16: My neighborhood is very social and we have the I mean,
- 1:28:24Speaker 16: we raised kids together and I've had friendships for twenty
- 1:28:27Speaker 16: five years with the same like ten couples, and we
- 1:28:30Speaker 16: play beach volleyball every Sunday, we have poker nights, dinner parties.
- 1:28:35Speaker 5: We just you just walk in and out of each
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: other's houses.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: And so that's cool. But maybe like on the road
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: hanging social comedy club, like you're like, that's the part.
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: Like it's like hanging out co workers. Like when they
- 1:28:47Speaker 4: have these little they try to force everybody here to
- 1:28:49Speaker 4: be friends. They do like with other stations. It's not
- 1:28:52Speaker 4: that you don't like these people. It's fine, but it's
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: like if it's a choice between I can be at
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: my house, I can go home now, or I can
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: hang out here for the free pizza in the iHeartRadio sweatshirts,
- 1:29:03Speaker 4: they're gonna be raffling off.
- 1:29:05Speaker 16: People always go like how is Cincinnati? And I'll just
- 1:29:08Speaker 16: go like is that where I was? Like I went
- 1:29:10Speaker 16: from the airport to the hotel to the club and
- 1:29:12Speaker 16: that's it. But then I went to Alaska. This is insane.
- 1:29:16Speaker 16: I was in Alaska two weeks ago and I'm not
- 1:29:18Speaker 16: making up a word of this story.
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: What part Fairbanks okay, because we just went on the
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: Disney Alaska cruise.
- 1:29:27Speaker 16: Oh I love Juno's my favorite. So I get there
- 1:29:31Speaker 16: and uh, and I'm there for like three nights. So
- 1:29:33Speaker 16: I say to the guy that owns the theater, I go,
- 1:29:35Speaker 16: I'd love to do something fun during the day. So
- 1:29:38Speaker 16: he calls me back and he goes, I got this
- 1:29:40Speaker 16: guy and he is like from this famous outdoorsy family.
- 1:29:45Speaker 16: They've got a company that's had like ATVs and snowmobiles
- 1:29:49Speaker 16: for generations, and he's a huge fan of yours and
- 1:29:51Speaker 16: he wants to take you out and you have an adventure.
- 1:29:54Speaker 16: So now I'm kind of intimidating because I grew up
- 1:29:55Speaker 16: in New York. I've been living in LA I'm soft
- 1:29:58Speaker 16: and these guys are you know, he's the guy they
- 1:30:02Speaker 16: want to crush every finger and You're like, all right,
- 1:30:04Speaker 16: you're not gay.
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: I get.
- 1:30:07Speaker 16: And so now I'm like, all right, I'm gonna be wet.
- 1:30:10Speaker 16: I know I'm gonna get wet today and I'm gonna
- 1:30:12Speaker 16: be cold. But then I was like, all right, man up,
- 1:30:14Speaker 16: just man up, like you said, don't be depressed. So
- 1:30:18Speaker 16: the guy picks me up and he's in a monster truck.
- 1:30:20Speaker 16: The wheels are as tall as I am, and he's
- 1:30:23Speaker 16: he's hauling like a dune buggy that's covered in mud.
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: And so I get in and he but but he's
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: like this gentle guy.
- 1:30:31Speaker 16: He's retired, he's selling the business. He's moving down to Mexico.
- 1:30:34Speaker 16: And I'm like, all right, I think I'm I think
- 1:30:36Speaker 16: I'm in say fans. He seems like a really decent guy.
- 1:30:38Speaker 16: He's talking about his wife and his kids.
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: So we're driving down.
- 1:30:42Speaker 16: Looking at the Alaska Pipeline because I've never seen it before.
- 1:30:45Speaker 16: So we're on like a side street and then a
- 1:30:48Speaker 16: police siren goes off, and I was like, what, I go,
- 1:30:51Speaker 16: you didn't do anything.
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: He goes, this is bad. I'm like, what do you mean?
- 1:30:56Speaker 16: This is bad?
- 1:30:57Speaker 5: He goes this is bad.
- 1:30:58Speaker 13: I go what.
- 1:30:59Speaker 16: So the cops starts walking up to us, and he
- 1:31:02Speaker 16: takes a plastic baggie with white powder and he hands
- 1:31:06Speaker 16: it to me and he goes, get rid of this
- 1:31:08Speaker 16: and it spills, some of it, spills on my pants,
- 1:31:11Speaker 16: snuff it under the seat in the back. The cop
- 1:31:13Speaker 16: walks up. He goes, huge, dude. He goes license a registration.
- 1:31:18Speaker 16: So the guy goes, get my registration out of the
- 1:31:20Speaker 16: glove coupbox.
- 1:31:21Speaker 8: I open it up, and a.
- 1:31:22Speaker 16: Baggie with pills and one hundred dollars bills starts falling out.
- 1:31:26Speaker 16: I shove it back in with my hand. I cover
- 1:31:28Speaker 16: it with paper, and the cop goes, what are you hiding?
- 1:31:32Speaker 16: So what are you hiding? So did I hand him
- 1:31:35Speaker 16: the bag of drugs? So now I'm an accessory to
- 1:31:37Speaker 16: a felony, and so the cop grabs. He goes, both
- 1:31:41Speaker 16: of you, put your hands on the dashboard. So I
- 1:31:44Speaker 16: got my hands on the dashboard and I'm and the
- 1:31:47Speaker 16: cop takes his license and he goes back to the
- 1:31:50Speaker 16: car to run it comes back and he goes, sir,
- 1:31:52Speaker 16: do you know you have an outstanding felony warrant? And
- 1:31:55Speaker 16: he goes yeah. I go yeah, why did the seven?
- 1:32:01Speaker 16: So then the guy goes uh.
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: He goes, are there any firearms in the car?
- 1:32:07Speaker 16: I'm sure there's a rocket launcher here somewhere, and he says, uh, no,
- 1:32:12Speaker 16: there's not. And so then the cop takes the guy
- 1:32:15Speaker 16: out of the car and he cuffs him right in
- 1:32:18Speaker 16: front of me, and he uh.
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: He pats him down, and then he.
- 1:32:21Speaker 16: Takes him back to the car and he puts him
- 1:32:23Speaker 16: in the back of the car, and I'm sitting there
- 1:32:24Speaker 16: going like, I got a show in four hours.
- 1:32:27Speaker 5: I just flew like eleven hours to get up here
- 1:32:29Speaker 5: and do the show. And so he comes back and
- 1:32:32Speaker 5: he goes and he's standing off the back window. You
- 1:32:36Speaker 5: know that power move, yeah, And he goes, uh oh,
- 1:32:39Speaker 5: and I took my hands off the dashboard. At one
- 1:32:41Speaker 5: point he goes, put your hands back on the dance.
- 1:32:44Speaker 5: I put my hands back on the dad.
- 1:32:46Speaker 16: And then he's like, he goes, I'm not coming close
- 1:32:48Speaker 16: to the car because that's fentanyl on you.
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 1:32:52Speaker 16: So now I'm frozen. And he's like, where are you from?
- 1:32:56Speaker 16: And I said California? I said, dude, I'm a comedian.
- 1:33:00Speaker 16: I said, I'm here to do his show. I met
- 1:33:02Speaker 16: this guy twenty minutes ago. And he goes, he goes,
- 1:33:05Speaker 16: oh really, he goes, I'm not buying it. He goes,
- 1:33:07Speaker 16: you're from a drug feeder state. And I don't think
- 1:33:10Speaker 16: you're comedian because you're not funny.
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: I'm like, I'm not funny. Like, at what point was
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: I going to ask? My pants are?
- 1:33:20Speaker 4: And you don't think this is funny? A great bit someday.
- 1:33:24Speaker 16: So he goes, where did you get the drugs? I
- 1:33:26Speaker 16: go to the glove compartment. He goes, no, he said,
- 1:33:29Speaker 16: they're yours done, and so he goes, are you feeling
- 1:33:34Speaker 16: any effects of the fenceadel I go yeah, I said,
- 1:33:37Speaker 16: I feel really lightheaded. I'm freaking out, and he goes, well,
- 1:33:40Speaker 16: I have anarkham.
- 1:33:43Speaker 5: In the car. So he goes, don't move. He goes
- 1:33:46Speaker 5: get out of the car, but don't stir it up.
- 1:33:49Speaker 16: So I get out and we walked back to the
- 1:33:51Speaker 16: car and he opens up the back door to the
- 1:33:54Speaker 16: police car and my driver gets out and then the
- 1:33:57Speaker 16: two of them look at me and they go, we're
- 1:34:00Speaker 16: coming to see your show tonight, and they start.
- 1:34:01Speaker 5: Laughing the whole thing.
- 1:34:03Speaker 7: God who.
- 1:34:06Speaker 16: Fell around. I was on all fours out of relief,
- 1:34:11Speaker 16: and also I started laughing.
- 1:34:13Speaker 5: I could stop laughing. I was laughing for like ten minutes.
- 1:34:16Speaker 4: Yeah, at that point, sure that it was.
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: I felt like I was.
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: Uh in training day uncontrollable laughters. What happens in that
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: situation right before a heart attack. That's how you know
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: you're about to have a heart attack.
- 1:34:30Speaker 16: So we drive back to the cops house and uh,
- 1:34:33Speaker 16: he changes and then we get into the and then
- 1:34:36Speaker 16: he gets into the monster truck and we drive like
- 1:34:38Speaker 16: an hour and they take me to these hot springs
- 1:34:41Speaker 16: that they have up there, and we all get into
- 1:34:45Speaker 16: our bathing suits and we jump into this hot springs
- 1:34:48Speaker 16: and it's like it's like boiling and there's like pockets
- 1:34:52Speaker 16: of heat that hit you and you have to like
- 1:34:54Speaker 16: dive because so and then and then we go directly
- 1:34:58Speaker 16: into an ice building.
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: It's made out of ice.
- 1:35:02Speaker 16: It's the only super Yeah, it's the only frozen building
- 1:35:07Speaker 16: in the world. And they and the guy bring the
- 1:35:10Speaker 16: guy that owns this place brings us in and he's
- 1:35:12Speaker 16: like an Alaska cowboy. And then they have a bar
- 1:35:15Speaker 16: set up and it's a it's an ice bar. It's
- 1:35:18Speaker 16: made out of ice. And then the stools have like
- 1:35:20Speaker 16: elk fur.
- 1:35:21Speaker 4: It's like that place that you can't take pictures minutes.
- 1:35:24Speaker 7: The ice bars in Vegas. They always want you to
- 1:35:26Speaker 7: pay for the photographer.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: Like, yeah, they gave us.
- 1:35:33Speaker 16: Let people do social media to get so much more marketing. Yeah,
- 1:35:36Speaker 16: and they got this ice sculpture guy who's in there
- 1:35:39Speaker 16: and uh. And so they sit down at the bar
- 1:35:41Speaker 16: and they start drinking. They've got a tap that pours
- 1:35:44Speaker 16: apple teenies. So these guys sit down and they proceed
- 1:35:48Speaker 16: to have like seven Apple teenies. And I'm sitting there
- 1:35:52Speaker 16: going like, and we're telling bar jokes, like and they're
- 1:35:54Speaker 16: the most of the ones from the Alaska Gues racist, right,
- 1:35:58Speaker 16: And so I'm sitting there watching these two guys get
- 1:36:01Speaker 16: drunk and and tell racist jokes. And then and then
- 1:36:04Speaker 16: we leave and they're stumbling and my guy gets behind
- 1:36:08Speaker 16: the wheel and I go, hey, dude, I go, why
- 1:36:11Speaker 16: don't I be.
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: The Disney driver? He goes, I'm fine and I could
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: get pulled over. Yeah, I go, dude, I go, I'm
- 1:36:19Speaker 5: not getting in this truck. I go, I'm driving.
- 1:36:21Speaker 16: So now I'm behind the wheel of an eight ton
- 1:36:24Speaker 16: monster truck on these winding roads.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I would love the driving. You're towing a doom buggy.
- 1:36:29Speaker 16: Towing a dune buggy with two guys laughing at me
- 1:36:32Speaker 16: the entire time about how they got And then I
- 1:36:34Speaker 16: get back to the hotel and I was already late
- 1:36:37Speaker 16: for the show I had that night.
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: They came to the show and hackled me throughout the performance.
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: So funny. Yeah, I love Fitzdog. His storytelling is so funny. Agreed,
- 1:36:50Speaker 4: You can see why We love having this guy in.
- 1:36:51Speaker 4: Greg fitz Simmons is here, ladies and gentlemen. He's gonna

- 1:37:08Speaker 4: For tickets, go to fitzdog dot com. It's f I
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: t Z d O G dot com.
- 1:37:21Speaker 19: One all right.
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: Greg Fitzsimmons is here. Check them out on his website,
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: Greg Fitzsimmons dot com, Instagram at Greg Fitzsimmons Twitter, of
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: course you can find in there. Which one do you
- 1:37:34Speaker 4: find you're putting yourself, you know, most effort into, like
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: of all the social media I think for us, it's definitely,
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: uh what Instagram and any Facebook menace or like?
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: I mostly do.
- 1:37:44Speaker 7: Yeah, I would say Instagram. I mean that's where we.
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: Have this strongest. Yeah.
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: I do my Space and friends there, but I haven't
- 1:37:51Speaker 5: been to the site in a little while.
- 1:37:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: Now I do Instagram.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: I mean I do my like Instagram the most.
- 1:37:57Speaker 5: I do two podcasts a week and so I put
- 1:37:59Speaker 5: the up like usually a clip from those, but I'm
- 1:38:03Speaker 5: not very active.
- 1:38:04Speaker 16: I need to be.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: It's stupid. It's like it's the whole business now.
- 1:38:07Speaker 16: It used to be if you did the Tonight Show,
- 1:38:09Speaker 16: you could draw at the clubs, and now you have
- 1:38:12Speaker 16: to do uh social media constantly, and I just I
- 1:38:16Speaker 16: hate doing it.
- 1:38:18Speaker 4: If you don't want to talk about it's time. We're
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: having fun here and I'm not trying to get like,
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: you know, like serious. But you weren't invited to be
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: part of that whole What was the big comedy festival? Yeah,
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: you were you part of that.
- 1:38:31Speaker 16: You weren't part of that because it was in Vegas
- 1:38:33Speaker 16: that weekend, Garrett weekend. Yeah, No, you know, Look, I
- 1:38:38Speaker 16: I would uh, I would say that going over there
- 1:38:45Speaker 16: is okay because you are bringing new ideas. I mean,
- 1:38:50Speaker 16: you're going over there into a place that is shut
- 1:38:53Speaker 16: down and not exposed to Western thought. And I think
- 1:38:57Speaker 16: I think you could justify it as long as you
- 1:38:59Speaker 16: go over there saying I'm going to talk about stuff
- 1:39:01Speaker 16: they wouldn't want me to talk about, not like be
- 1:39:04Speaker 16: an outlaw. But I would think that, you know, I'd
- 1:39:07Speaker 16: be scared, but I would donate the money to charity,
- 1:39:10Speaker 16: and then I would I would talk about stuff that
- 1:39:12Speaker 16: might push the boundaries.
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: Yeah, because there was. Man, a lot of these comics
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: got lit up on that backlash.
- 1:39:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: But man, when you get think about, I mean, is
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: how it is, think about the average person and they
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: have like some huge chunk of chain. People go like, oh,
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: you sold out? Well yeah, and what was it? Menas,
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: what's that quote you always said?
- 1:39:31Speaker 7: Oh yeah, it's from Charlotte and the God. He says,
- 1:39:33Speaker 7: I can't wait to sell out?
- 1:39:34Speaker 4: Yeah, there was.
- 1:39:35Speaker 7: Somebody has to buy in.
- 1:39:36Speaker 4: That means that people have to like believe in you.
- 1:39:40Speaker 4: There is behind you, There's something like that. The only
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: people who say they wouldn't sell to the people who
- 1:39:44Speaker 4: have never had the opportunity. Yeah you know. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:39:47Speaker 4: look a big payda to do what you already do.
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: But you're a plumber. Someone says, hey, man, I want
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: you to repipe my house. All right.
- 1:39:57Speaker 7: I normally don't go to that part of town, but
- 1:39:58Speaker 7: I think for this, I my thoughts on it is like,
- 1:40:01Speaker 7: why are we trying to go and police everybody everywhere
- 1:40:03Speaker 7: else when we still have a lot of problems here.
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:40:06Speaker 16: No, it's true if you if you there's a lot
- 1:40:08Speaker 16: of countries, which countries do you decide? You know, like
- 1:40:11Speaker 16: what about what about England? They colonize the world. They
- 1:40:15Speaker 16: starved the Irish to death during the famine. It wasn't
- 1:40:19Speaker 16: a famine. The English basically took all the food out
- 1:40:23Speaker 16: of Ireland while there was a potato like there was
- 1:40:26Speaker 16: plenty of other good crops, and they starved a million
- 1:40:29Speaker 16: people to death.
- 1:40:30Speaker 5: And another thank you very much? Am I not supposed
- 1:40:36Speaker 5: to do? Is awesome? London is awesome.
- 1:40:40Speaker 4: When everybody was giving Chick fil A a bunch of
- 1:40:42Speaker 4: heat about you know, homophobia, whatever, I'm like, the chicken
- 1:40:45Speaker 4: is delicious. I separate my politics from my chicken. I
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: separate my politics and things from music or movies, because
- 1:40:52Speaker 4: if you have to agree with everything that this band
- 1:40:55Speaker 4: or whatever the people in the band like like, you
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: won't like anybody.
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: No the kk K, and I'm not saying that you
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: take out for the KKK.
- 1:41:03Speaker 16: They're bake salesbelievable air.
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: Yeah, seven bars, that's true. Tire For now. The other
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: thing you got to check out if you enjoy Greg
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: Fitzimmons and the storytelling and his comedy, it's uh, it's
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: on YouTube. It's his latest special it's called you Know Me,
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: And part of the new special, it's you talk about
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: how like when kids become teens, right like they think
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: that you are so uncool. I'm kind of going through
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: that right now. My son's fifteen, my daughter's thirteen. It's
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: rob How old are your kids now?
- 1:41:37Speaker 5: Well, now they're twenty five and twenty. That seems to
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: be the best, Like you're out of the woods.
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: Yeah, because now it's a good early part of their
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: adulthood where they're kind of struggling and they kind of
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: have more of an appreciation. Well, no, I can't wait
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: for my kids to struggle.
- 1:41:51Speaker 16: That is just fun because like you know, they they
- 1:41:54Speaker 16: they're at the age when they start thinking they're smart now.
- 1:41:57Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: And so here's anversation I had with my daughter the
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: other day. This is word for word. Hey dad, what'd
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: you do today?
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: Oh?
- 1:42:05Speaker 16: I went on like a thirty mile bike ride. She goes,
- 1:42:08Speaker 16: look at you, Louis Armstrong. I said, you want Lance
- 1:42:18Speaker 16: arms Strong?
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: And she goes, is that the guy that walked on
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: the moon?
- 1:42:21Speaker 8: Oh my god? Yea stretch Armstrong?
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, getting yeah, because man, uh, they I don't know,
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: like I wonder sometimes like do you survive? This is
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: like I think you either it's live or die. Like
- 1:42:46Speaker 4: getting through the teenage part of parenthood right.
- 1:42:50Speaker 16: Well, keeping them off drugs is really hard because like
- 1:42:53Speaker 16: both my kids got very into weed because it used
- 1:42:56Speaker 16: to be you came home and you smelt like weed. No,
- 1:43:00Speaker 16: you just eat a gummy or you got a vape pen,
- 1:43:02Speaker 16: right and every and you know, once you know California,
- 1:43:06Speaker 16: I saw a change. My kids were teenagers when it
- 1:43:08Speaker 16: got legalized, and all of a sudden, they were just high.
- 1:43:11Speaker 16: It just became like every single adult thought it was
- 1:43:15Speaker 16: novel to have a vape pen or gummies in their
- 1:43:18Speaker 16: sock drawer. And you're a kid, it's the first place
- 1:43:21Speaker 16: you go. You go to your parents' sock drawer. You
- 1:43:23Speaker 16: find the vibrators and you're like mo and and so
- 1:43:29Speaker 16: like it's just it's really hard to stop it.
- 1:43:32Speaker 5: You know, there's not much you can do.
- 1:43:34Speaker 4: So the best advice, like for for something like me
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: is my wife and I, you know, we get to
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: the point where we're ready to you know, pull our
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: hair if we if we could quit these kids, we
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: would sometimes you know, I've said, like you love them,
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: but you hate being a parent, or you can say
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: I love you, but I really don't like you right now.
- 1:43:50Speaker 5: Yeah. My parents used to say that's it, and I.
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: Try to be I'm like kind of the more cool,
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: calm one. My wife is the one losing her mind,
- 1:43:57Speaker 4: I know, and she starts fighting, dirty, arguing, name calling.
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: The same with the kids. Oh yeah, she'll get into it.
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: I got to like sometimes like, oh, you have sons
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: and daughters. My son is fifteen, my daughter's thirteen, so.
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: I really have a rough time from thirteen to eighteen.
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: It is really hard.
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: But like right now, it's my son and my daughter
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: who are because they are the same person and so
- 1:44:20Speaker 4: they have to have these So any kind of advice
- 1:44:22Speaker 4: you have will I'll accept because I just think you
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: know something you have to.
- 1:44:27Speaker 5: You have to make them feel like they can talk
- 1:44:30Speaker 5: to you about anything.
- 1:44:31Speaker 4: Yes, but they can, That's is true.
- 1:44:33Speaker 16: Yeah, I mean I just think you can't be judgmental,
- 1:44:36Speaker 16: you can't be authoritarian. I mean, this is the new
- 1:44:38Speaker 16: school of parenting. Some people think that this is wrong,
- 1:44:41Speaker 16: that you should, you know, be really strict with your kids.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: You're an old Irish coow. You got your ass kicked.
- 1:44:45Speaker 4: I got my ass kicked, I got be right, and
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: you wish you could still do that. I told my
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: wife the other day, I'm like, wouldn't it be great
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: like in the old days, Like we just beat the
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: crap out of here? Yeah, I know, and be done
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: with it. I got the beatings and the.
- 1:45:01Speaker 7: All of it.
- 1:45:02Speaker 4: Silent hat what he loves.
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: It more debilitating than my father used to beat me.
- 1:45:10Speaker 16: But I would have taken that over a week of
- 1:45:14Speaker 16: neither parents speaking a word to make I mean, think
- 1:45:16Speaker 16: about what that absolutely.
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: My mom gave me the silent treatment once for a week.
- 1:45:21Speaker 9: My dad was out of town on business and for
- 1:45:23Speaker 9: one week not one word was spoken. It was the
- 1:45:28Speaker 9: most awkward and the worst feeling in the world. You
- 1:45:30Speaker 9: talk about depression is when you don't want to be
- 1:45:33Speaker 9: where you are. I just wanted to be somewhere else,
- 1:45:35Speaker 9: and I'm a kid, I'm at home. It's not like, Hey,
- 1:45:38Speaker 9: I'll be at my weekend place.
- 1:45:40Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're.
- 1:45:40Speaker 4: Stuck at home with a mother who won't speak to you.
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: It's in that situation, okay. But now, Greg, as as
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: a married dude and your wife's mad and she gives
- 1:45:50Speaker 4: you a silent treatment, is that not awesome? That's fantastic, right, Yeah,
- 1:45:56Speaker 4: you want to be there's a switch that happens at
- 1:45:58Speaker 4: some point in your life. Were like getting the soilent
- 1:46:00Speaker 4: treatment goes from when you're a kid. It sucks to
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: it rules and you're like, what did I do? But
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: let me know, I want to do this again.
- 1:46:08Speaker 5: It's okay to have that.
- 1:46:09Speaker 16: But I really do believe in that thing of like,
- 1:46:11Speaker 16: don't go to bed angry, like because if you if
- 1:46:14Speaker 16: you can straighten it out, it's such a bad hangover.
- 1:46:18Speaker 16: If you get up in the morning and you were
- 1:46:19Speaker 16: angry the night before and you hadn't dealt with it,
- 1:46:21Speaker 16: you know, and you wake up and you think, oh,
- 1:46:23Speaker 16: that's right, we're mad at each.
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:46:26Speaker 8: And the other way, I'm like, you know what, sleep
- 1:46:28Speaker 8: on it.
- 1:46:28Speaker 4: Yeah, because you're not. Something happens when you sleep. Let
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: me just go to sleep.
- 1:46:34Speaker 12: Leep.
- 1:46:34Speaker 4: Yeah, something happens when you sleep, you know, just you
- 1:46:37Speaker 4: wake up and whatever you thought. Yeah, it's like right
- 1:46:39Speaker 4: after you, Joe, right as soon as you're done everything
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: that seemed like a good idea seconds ago, it's no
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: longer a good idea gone, yeah, and you just kind
- 1:46:47Speaker 4: of made me move on and just shrug it off.
- 1:46:49Speaker 16: But that is the problem, is you're fatigued, and that's
- 1:46:52Speaker 16: the moment where the real parenting usually comes in. It's
- 1:46:56Speaker 16: the end of the night, and you gotta be It's
- 1:47:00Speaker 16: all about consistency.
- 1:47:01Speaker 5: You want to have boundaries.
- 1:47:02Speaker 16: I'm not saying like I'm saying, be gentle with them,
- 1:47:05Speaker 16: but also have consistent boundaries.
- 1:47:06Speaker 4: Were you cool parent as far as like, you know,
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: were the kids allowed to get away with certain things
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: or super You say you're strict.
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: I was strict.
- 1:47:15Speaker 16: My wife was not as much, which I think it's
- 1:47:17Speaker 16: good to have a good cop bad cop thing. But
- 1:47:20Speaker 16: I was strict, and but I didn't yell. I yelled
- 1:47:25Speaker 16: once and I was just talking to my daughter about it.
- 1:47:27Speaker 16: We had dinner last night. Here's was great about my daughter.
- 1:47:30Speaker 5: She's twenty two. She lives in the guest house in
- 1:47:31Speaker 5: the back.
- 1:47:32Speaker 4: Yeah because pretty cool. She comes in. Yeah, guess yes,
- 1:47:37Speaker 4: it's perfect, the guest quarters.
- 1:47:39Speaker 16: And she comes in and she she she likes to
- 1:47:41Speaker 16: have dinner with us, and she likes to talk to
- 1:47:43Speaker 16: We have dinner and then we sit there for three.
- 1:47:45Speaker 5: Hours and talk about life. It's actually really amazing.
- 1:47:48Speaker 4: That's the point I want to get to That's what
- 1:47:51Speaker 4: my wife and I keep thinking about, like if we
- 1:47:52Speaker 4: can survive this on the other end, is this so?
- 1:47:55Speaker 4: I'm sure some people feel about working out, like mom,
- 1:47:57Speaker 4: I'm I can't get myself to work out, But like
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: you when you like, you're eventually gonna be able to
- 1:48:02Speaker 4: look in the mirror and at the zone feel good
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: about it. Right, Eventually we're gonna be able to get
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: through this, and we're gonna be able to look at
- 1:48:07Speaker 4: them and go, you know what it was worth about daughters?
- 1:48:10Speaker 4: Like when a girl turns thirteen, that's when she starts
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: hating her parents. Is that true?
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: Oh my god, so true? That is what I didn't
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: hate us? Like, thank god, we never got the I
- 1:48:21Speaker 5: hate you. I don't know that I could have handled.
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: We've got that. I feel like we get that on
- 1:48:26Speaker 4: a pretty regular base. Oh you've been told that? Oh yeah,
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: oh god, I know it's not real. People say that
- 1:48:34Speaker 4: stuff in anger. But then I can't wait to move out.
- 1:48:36Speaker 4: I'm like, yeah, I can't wait for you to move
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: out like that. Look, we have so much in common, man.
- 1:48:44Speaker 5: I'm moving out all right. Your suitcase is on the
- 1:48:46Speaker 5: front porch.
- 1:48:47Speaker 4: I'd made that joke since the kids were born. I said, hey,
- 1:48:49Speaker 4: you know what birthday is one through seventeen. You tell
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: me what you want on your eighteenth birthday, I can
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: tell you what you're getting. It's luggage.
- 1:48:55Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 1:48:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:48:56Speaker 16: But I but we I think we stood by her
- 1:48:59Speaker 16: through tough teen years. So when she turned like eighteen,
- 1:49:03Speaker 16: she just completely came back and looks at us for advice.
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:49:08Speaker 16: And you know, the pandemic happened right around that age,
- 1:49:12Speaker 16: and she and my wife would just have cocktails every night. Yeah,
- 1:49:18Speaker 16: you play games and like the pandemic was actually really
- 1:49:21Speaker 16: good for our family.
- 1:49:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:49:23Speaker 9: Well that's why there's that old saying, the older you get,
- 1:49:25Speaker 9: the smarter your parents get. Yeah, because you realize, oh man,
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: they were right right.
- 1:49:30Speaker 4: Yeah, but we were talking about going to bed angry,
- 1:49:33Speaker 4: waking up. It's post not clarity. Yeah, that's the real.
- 1:49:39Speaker 4: Greg fitz Simmons is here. Yeah, he's hosting the Best
- 1:49:42Speaker 4: Buddies Benefit of the Comedy Store on Sunday. The show.
- 1:49:46Speaker 4: A bunch of other comedians are on there and the
- 1:49:48Speaker 4: tickets are available Fitzdog f I t Z dog dot com. Alright,
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: well we have Greg Fitzsimmons here, Yes, and Greg has
- 1:50:02Speaker 4: his podcast fitz Dog Radio podcast. You can get it
- 1:50:05Speaker 4: by going to Greg Fitzsimmons dot com. I'm sure it's
- 1:50:09Speaker 4: on all the different podcast platforms and and stuff like
- 1:50:12Speaker 4: that too. Also Greg Simby hosting the Best Buddies Benefit
- 1:50:16Speaker 4: at the Comedy Store on Sunday. The show features Andrew Santino,
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: you got Craig Robinson, who are some of the other names.
- 1:50:23Speaker 16: Ron Funches and Andy Letterman and then a special guestsial
- 1:50:28Speaker 16: surprise guest too big to men, not allowed to mention.
- 1:50:33Speaker 4: So what is that because like maybe they have another
- 1:50:35Speaker 4: gig and don't want to take away from.
- 1:50:37Speaker 16: Yeah, they have a huge theater show and I'm coming
- 1:50:40Speaker 16: up and so you can't say their name, right.
- 1:50:43Speaker 4: We've run up again stuff like that before. There's always
- 1:50:45Speaker 4: a reason, you know. But yeah, it's a and it's
- 1:50:48Speaker 4: a benefiting the Best Buddies charity and so you know,
- 1:50:52Speaker 4: Greg was talking about that earlier, just helping people, you know,
- 1:50:54Speaker 4: get by and get gigs and you know, be able
- 1:50:58Speaker 4: to be independent.
- 1:50:59Speaker 16: I guess is people with intellectual disabilities that are able
- 1:51:03Speaker 16: to they live in group homes where they can get
- 1:51:06Speaker 16: to the point where somebody from Best Buddies comes by
- 1:51:08Speaker 16: a couple of days a week, make sure that you
- 1:51:11Speaker 16: know if things are running smooth in the house. But
- 1:51:13Speaker 16: for the for some of these people, they've lived with
- 1:51:15Speaker 16: their families their entire lives, and now they're able to
- 1:51:18Speaker 16: do independent living.
- 1:51:19Speaker 8: And that's such a gift to the families. Oh my god. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: just like let them be independent.
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: Yeah, and then they.
- 1:51:25Speaker 16: Get internships that a lot of times turns into jobs
- 1:51:28Speaker 16: because when you have somebody working for you sometimes that's
- 1:51:31Speaker 16: on the spectrum.
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: They're like unbelievably good work.
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: They're way better.
- 1:51:37Speaker 16: Yeah, everybody loves them just being around them, like like, well,
- 1:51:40Speaker 16: me and my wife will go bowling sometimes will take
- 1:51:43Speaker 16: like some somebodies bowling. You just there, it's like prozac.
- 1:51:49Speaker 16: You feel so good. They're just there's no cynicism, there's
- 1:51:53Speaker 16: no malice. They're just happy people.
- 1:51:56Speaker 13: Uh.
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: It's yeah, it's kind of a gift. That's why we
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: love them.
- 1:51:59Speaker 8: That's why Morgan I love on the spectrum. It's not cynical.
- 1:52:02Speaker 8: It's just these lovely people.
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: Just without that who love trains exactly what. Yeah, there
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: was there was a guy he owns a business. I
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: saw something. There was like a not a documentary, but
- 1:52:13Speaker 4: there was like one of those like CBS Sunday Morning
- 1:52:16Speaker 4: type things. They did features like yeah, an interest on
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: this guy. He's got a son who's on the spectrum
- 1:52:24Speaker 4: and just like really smart kid, very like good hard worker,
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: just couldn't get a job, and so he hired him
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: in his company, right the dad's company, and ended up
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: like just dusting everybody. And then they started a whole
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: different company and they just hired like all people who
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: are kind of like him, and with fewer employees, they
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: smoke the competent. I forget what the industry was, so
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: it became this thing. And so now it's an organization
- 1:52:54Speaker 4: kind of like what you're talking about that you know,
- 1:52:57Speaker 4: helps people get into those positions because these companies they're
- 1:53:00Speaker 4: looking for somebody who actually cares, who doesn't want to
- 1:53:02Speaker 4: quite quit and you know.
- 1:53:03Speaker 16: Yeah, and when I was in Boston, I visited the
- 1:53:07Speaker 16: it was this company in the Prudential Center and they
- 1:53:10Speaker 16: had somebody that worked there and uh from Best Buddies
- 1:53:15Speaker 16: And there was a major snowstorm in Boston and they
- 1:53:17Speaker 16: said nobody showed up.
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: To work except him, he.
- 1:53:23Speaker 4: Guy.
- 1:53:24Speaker 5: And then so and then I do this thing.
- 1:53:26Speaker 16: Tom Brady, to his credit, was the face of best
- 1:53:29Speaker 16: buddies for years. He was like the guy and you know,
- 1:53:34Speaker 16: like knew a lot of the buddies and would show
- 1:53:36Speaker 16: up for the benefits. So I did this bike ride
- 1:53:38Speaker 16: from Boston to Cape Cod to raise money. So I
- 1:53:41Speaker 16: fly in and the night before the bike ride, they
- 1:53:45Speaker 16: had a celebrity touch football game at Harvard Stadium and
- 1:53:51Speaker 16: all Edelman and Gronk and Slot off her chair so much,
- 1:53:59Speaker 16: and they all showed up and it was like celebrities,
- 1:54:03Speaker 16: well people like me that were playing against the Patriots,
- 1:54:09Speaker 16: and buddies on the field mixed in.
- 1:54:12Speaker 5: And so I end up on on Brady's team and I.
- 1:54:16Speaker 16: Meet him and he is godou like you feel this
- 1:54:21Speaker 16: angly since you need him.
- 1:54:23Speaker 5: He looks right in your eyes and you know he's
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: a legend.
- 1:54:26Speaker 16: And so we get in the huddle and he's telling
- 1:54:28Speaker 16: the buddy's all right, you run over there to the left,
- 1:54:32Speaker 16: you run straight up there.
- 1:54:33Speaker 5: And then I'm looking at him like a puppy, and
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: he's like, what are you looking at? Just go out.
- 1:54:38Speaker 16: And so a couple of plays later, I'm running down
- 1:54:41Speaker 16: the sideline and I look over my shoulder and Tom
- 1:54:44Speaker 16: Brady is looking at me and he takes the ball
- 1:54:48Speaker 16: back and he pops up this tight soft spiral and
- 1:54:53Speaker 16: I'm running and I got my arms out for a
- 1:54:55Speaker 16: basket catch. I'm like, I'm going to catch a pass
- 1:54:59Speaker 16: from Tom Brady. Don't don't blow this, don't trip soft
- 1:55:03Speaker 16: hands bringing it. Ball lands on my hands, I pull
- 1:55:06Speaker 16: it in, I catch it. But then I had two
- 1:55:08Speaker 16: best buddies in front of me, so I deeked them
- 1:55:11Speaker 16: out and I scored a touchdown.
- 1:55:13Speaker 4: And I look back and I just see Tom Brady
- 1:55:15Speaker 4: with his face in his hands. But here's the thing
- 1:55:19Speaker 4: that's that's a good life lesson.
- 1:55:21Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:55:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not always.
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: Gonna be people moving out of your way, you know,
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: with the snow plowing right talking about that here five
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: six two. I participated in the Best Buddies program in
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: high school. I was assigned a kid with special needs,
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: and I took him around the school and I'd befriended him.
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: My job was supposed to be to make them feel
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: normal and with friends and with love. Best Buddies is awesome.
