- 0:10Speaker 1: Mike Golic Senior is with us. His son, Mike Golett Jr.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Was with us a couple of weeks ago. He told
- 0:16Speaker 1: us that he got engaged, So Mike put us there.
- 0:18Speaker 1: When you learn that your son, we love very much,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Mike Golett Junr. When you found out the news that
- 0:25Speaker 1: your son was engaged to be married.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Oh obviously we were ecstatic. I mean, he's our oldest
- 0:32Speaker 2: and the last one to be married. We're happy he
- 0:34Speaker 2: found someone. I mean, the dude's got a million friends, yeah,
- 0:38Speaker 2: a million friends. But we're very very happy that he
- 0:42Speaker 2: found someone. And Ainsley is just she's fantastic. And he
- 0:46Speaker 2: did it, you know, the old fashioned way. They were
- 0:49Speaker 2: on a trip to see her family, her parents and
- 0:52Speaker 2: her brother, and he asked Ainsley's father, you know, permission
- 0:57Speaker 2: and the whole deal. So yeah, I was happy, be
- 1:00Speaker 2: happy to see that the uh uh, that the young
- 1:03Speaker 2: man did it the old fashioned way. But uh, very
- 1:06Speaker 2: very happy, very happy, and very very happy to know
- 1:09Speaker 2: that I will not be spending nearly the money I
- 1:11Speaker 2: spent on Sydney's wedding that I that I will on
- 1:14Speaker 2: Mike in Ainsley's wedding.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Oh, don't you worry, My friend, you'll be spending.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Listen, listen after Sydney's wedding where the the cherry on
- 1:24Speaker 2: top was, Oh, we're gonna have fireworks for an extra
- 1:28Speaker 2: six thousand dollars. Uh, nothing, nothing affects me. I was
- 1:33Speaker 2: numb at the end of that one of the amount
- 1:35Speaker 2: of money that that costs me. I just stopped asking, right,
- 1:38Speaker 2: I just I just didn't want to know. So there's
- 1:42Speaker 2: no way anybody in the family would match Sydney's.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Uh listen now, right, exactly right.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:49Speaker 3: And here's the funny thing, Michael, We'll get to you
- 1:51Speaker 3: in just a second.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Me and Mikey a who have gotten to know your
- 1:55Speaker 1: family very well. We're concerned because Junior feels like he
- 1:59Speaker 1: has a lot of sat over what's going to happen
- 2:01Speaker 1: at this wedding. And I want you to tell him
- 2:03Speaker 1: and the audience and everyone he has no saying he
- 2:06Speaker 1: has none.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I mean he could think he does. But quite honestly,
- 2:13Speaker 2: for the women, finding a man that asked them to
- 2:17Speaker 2: marry them is the last piece of the puzzle, right,
- 2:21Speaker 2: I mean, the guy is just the fill in spot
- 2:25Speaker 2: to finish the equation of the wedding that every woman plans, right,
- 2:31Speaker 2: I mean, there has to be a last piece of
- 2:33Speaker 2: the puzzle, and that's just the guy. Whatever guy it's
- 2:36Speaker 2: going to be, that's just the guy. And that's what
- 2:39Speaker 2: Mike is. Yes, she will be nice and she will
- 2:44Speaker 2: ask him his opinion and then she'll do what she wants,
- 2:48Speaker 2: which is completely understandable, completely understandable the way I've always
- 2:53Speaker 2: looked at it. Less than a year into my marriage
- 2:57Speaker 2: and I'm going on thirty nine years of it. I
- 3:00Speaker 2: let my wife make the decisions. That way, there was
- 3:04Speaker 2: no pressure on me boom and nothing was my fault. Yes,
- 3:08Speaker 2: because I didn't make any of the decisions. I mean,
- 3:11Speaker 2: guys are dumb at this age of getting married. They
- 3:15Speaker 2: wanted to be involved in all the decisions.
- 3:17Speaker 4: No, you don't, right, No you don't, No, you don't.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Listen, Mike Golic Senior has taught me everything about marriage
- 3:24Speaker 1: I need to know.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been a guiding light for me.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Listen, everyone knows you're a big romantic. So we are
- 3:31Speaker 1: wondering here nothing and nobody says romance like Mike Golic Senior,
- 3:36Speaker 1: how did you propose to your lovely wife?
- 3:40Speaker 2: It was horrible, It was it was just it was horrible.
- 3:47Speaker 2: There was a concert in Chicago. She lived in Chicago,
- 3:50Speaker 2: and I went to visit her, and there was a
- 3:53Speaker 2: concert in Chicago Jack Wagner.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Oh wow, Yes, at Lake Taho Stable.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, now Lake Tahoe Starr exactly, yes.
- 4:04Speaker 2: But we didn't necessarily go to see him. The opening
- 4:08Speaker 2: band was the Michael Stanley Band, which is from Cleveland,
- 4:12Speaker 2: and I grew up on Michael Stanley's music, God Rest
- 4:15Speaker 2: his Soul. So we were really going to see Michael
- 4:18Speaker 2: Stanley and probably stay for some of Jack Wagner. So
- 4:22Speaker 2: I got the ring before the trip, and she picked
- 4:26Speaker 2: me up at the airport and we got into the
- 4:28Speaker 2: parking lot of the concert, and I'm horrible with any
- 4:32Speaker 2: kind of secret. I said to her, I have the ring,
- 4:36Speaker 2: do you want to see it? I mean.
- 4:40Speaker 3: It was seler, I.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Mean it was horrible. So basically I proposed to her
- 4:46Speaker 2: in a horrible way in the car in the parking
- 4:48Speaker 2: lot as we went in to see Michael Stanley open
- 4:51Speaker 2: for Jack Wagner. We went in, we went backstage, saw
- 4:55Speaker 2: Michael Stanley and the guys told him about the engagement.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You know, congratulations all around, backslapping all around. Then we
- 5:03Speaker 2: basically left, but it was. It was one of the
- 5:06Speaker 2: worst engagements of all time.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Does she still give you shit about it?
- 5:12Speaker 2: I mean, I mean I think she's nice about it,
- 5:15Speaker 2: and stop giving me shit about it? Yeah, because it's
- 5:19Speaker 2: just you know, the bottom line is it's worked out well.
- 5:22Speaker 2: But yeah, it's just it. Uh. I was not very
- 5:25Speaker 2: good with it.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Mikey, Why are you shaking your head over there?
- 5:30Speaker 4: Because I'm disappointed. I mean, you know, you look up
- 5:32Speaker 4: to somebody, you go, you know, if I could be
- 5:35Speaker 4: like anybody, it's you know, I watch him with his family,
- 5:37Speaker 4: I watch it with his grand I watch him like
- 5:40Speaker 4: every time I go, I'm like, you know, what if
- 5:42Speaker 4: I could?
- 5:42Speaker 2: And then I hear that it's like, well, I guess oh, Mike.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Mike and Jake did it so much better than I,
- 5:50Speaker 2: so much, so much better.
- 5:53Speaker 3: They learned how to not do it from you learn how.
- 5:55Speaker 2: To not do it. It's exactly right. Jake actually took
- 5:58Speaker 2: it had his fiance meat at the class that they
- 6:02Speaker 2: met in at Notre Dame, the actual classroom that they
- 6:05Speaker 2: first met at Notre Dame, and that's where he proposed
- 6:08Speaker 2: it was very very good. So yeah, they so outkicked
- 6:12Speaker 2: what I did.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Mike, have you thought about making it up to her
- 6:15Speaker 5: with maybe a vowel renewal?
- 6:18Speaker 3: How about that?
- 6:20Speaker 2: I would screw that up somehow, I would.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I would just thought that counts though, Mike. That's it.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I mean it is. I mean, listen, next year is forty.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I'll get a good gift for that one, and then
- 6:34Speaker 2: you know there'll be fifty. But yeah, I mean to
- 6:38Speaker 2: try and relive the moment. I handled it so poorly.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I just think everybody would mock me.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Mike, how do you feel?
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm just trying to get my to figure out where
- 6:48Speaker 1: I am in the pecking order?
- 6:49Speaker 3: Am I a table one guy? I feel like I am.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I mean, what do you think at Junior's wedding? Yeah,
- 6:55Speaker 1: Junior's wedding, Yes, right next to you.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Well, here's the thing, given the fact that you probably
- 7:01Speaker 2: won't show, I will see that that we He wouldn't
- 7:05Speaker 2: put you at table one because then there would be
- 7:07Speaker 2: a chair missing.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So too, I got a plus one. I mean exactly.
- 7:12Speaker 2: So while you may be a table one friend, you'll
- 7:16Speaker 2: be a table twenty three attendant because you'll blow it
- 7:21Speaker 2: off and table twenty three having an empty chair looks
- 7:24Speaker 2: better than table one having an empty chair.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 7:27Speaker 1: If Junior has the wedding he thinks he's having, that
- 7:29Speaker 1: he's not having. But if it's poolside and Ed Orgeron
- 7:33Speaker 1: is wearing a bathing suit, I'll be there.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Okay, Oh, Ainsley so badly would love that Orgeron to
- 7:41Speaker 2: officiate the wedding. Now heads back in coaching. Got a job,
- 7:44Speaker 2: so we'll see if he has the time. But that
- 7:47Speaker 2: would that would be her dream come true.
- 7:49Speaker 3: Mikey A, how do you feel about Golick being the
- 7:52Speaker 3: director of food. It's a perfect role for him, you know.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Could you I don't know you could think of anybody better.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Quite honestly. The keys I think to a wedding are
- 8:06Speaker 2: not so much the meals, because you gotta you have
- 8:08Speaker 2: so many people. You gotta have the basic chicken or
- 8:11Speaker 2: steak or fish. It's what comes later. What snack do
- 8:15Speaker 2: you bring and what dessert table do you have? Those
- 8:19Speaker 2: are the keys. Like we were at a wedding in
- 8:22Speaker 2: Charleston for a very good friend of ours and late
- 8:25Speaker 2: late coming to the end, they brought in on trays
- 8:29Speaker 2: McDonald's cheeseburgers and fries. It was awesome.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Wow.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. It was, It was great. So that
- 8:37Speaker 2: to me is the key when the wedding's starting to
- 8:41Speaker 2: go on and carry on, what snacks do you bring in?
- 8:45Speaker 5: Mike, how would you feel about the guy at the
- 8:47Speaker 5: open bar wedding who goes to the bartender and asks
- 8:50Speaker 5: for Shirley Temple?
- 8:53Speaker 2: Oh, I mean he would have to be removed, that's daily.
- 8:57Speaker 2: What was it interesting at Jake and Jenny's wedding which
- 9:01Speaker 2: was at Notre Dame. The wedding reception was in a
- 9:05Speaker 2: very popular hotel, the morris In been right on campus,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and they couldn't they wouldn't allow shots at the bar.
- 9:17Speaker 2: But but the bartenders were very smart. They were just like,
- 9:23Speaker 2: just ask for a drink. Neat neat obviously, for those
- 9:27Speaker 2: that don't know, is a whiskey. Neat is whiskey without ice.
- 9:31Speaker 2: It's basically a shot. So that's and I think to
- 9:36Speaker 2: this day, Jake and Jenny's wedding still has a record,
- 9:39Speaker 2: I think for some of the most alcohol drunk, drunk,
- 9:42Speaker 2: drink whatever at a wedding. Yeah, it was, it got going.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Any drink could be a shot if you think about it,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I mean exactly, yes, exactly yes, So you would throw
- 9:51Speaker 1: this person out of the wedding because Taylor actually did
- 9:54Speaker 1: this Shirley Temple.
- 9:57Speaker 2: I mean it's one thing to ask for, like a
- 9:59Speaker 2: diet cod which is cool, yes, but a Shirley Temple.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Macho mane Mike Golic over here, shame in the Shirley
- 10:07Speaker 5: Temple community.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Like I said, if you don't want to drink that
- 10:11Speaker 2: that's cool, that that's fine. But Shirley Temple is a
- 10:16Speaker 2: well bit.
- 10:17Speaker 3: The problem is he just ordered the Shirley Temple.
- 10:20Speaker 1: There was no shot at tequila, no vodka, soda, just
- 10:23Speaker 1: just a Shirley Temple.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Mike.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I mean, so Shirley Temple wasn't chasing anything. That was
- 10:28Speaker 2: the man drink.
- 10:29Speaker 5: So I was the designated driver that night. But I
- 10:32Speaker 5: wanted to, you know, I want I didn't want to
- 10:34Speaker 5: get a coke. I didn't want to spread. I kind
- 10:36Speaker 5: of wanted to, you know, get a little crazy. So
- 10:38Speaker 5: I went with the Shirley Wayne. So I know Mike
- 10:40Speaker 5: very well.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Now he's gonna say, you know what, you're a good kid,
- 10:42Speaker 1: very responsible, good job by you.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:45Speaker 2: No, No, you want to get a Shirley Temple is
- 10:51Speaker 2: getting crazy? Wow, you are on a hand, Taylor, you
- 10:55Speaker 2: are nuts.
- 10:56Speaker 3: You don't know, Taylor though. I mean, Mike.
- 11:00Speaker 1: The one thing, and you will appreciate this that we'll
- 11:03Speaker 1: never have to worry about as a podcast or as
- 11:05Speaker 1: a radio show, is that our executive producer will miss
- 11:09Speaker 1: a day because he's too hungover. It's just that, right,
- 11:11Speaker 1: that's a good thing.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yes, well, there is something to that that's responsible. Yes,
- 11:16Speaker 2: I do appreciate that.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yes, Mike, we're one hundred days away from the start
- 11:20Speaker 1: of college football. It seems like we're headed towards not
- 11:24Speaker 1: next season, but the following a twenty fourteen playoff. I
- 11:28Speaker 1: think it's absurd. You are completely nuking your regular season.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It's crazy. Obviously, coaches love it because then they can
- 11:36Speaker 2: coach a team that they said made the playoffs.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yes, it's right, Yes, I mean I don't know.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Greg Sankey, the commissioner of the SEC, doesn't want it,
- 11:46Speaker 2: does he know? So if he doesn't want it, let's
- 11:50Speaker 2: be honest, there's a power for but there's really a
- 11:53Speaker 2: power two. And let's be real honest, there's a power one. Yeah,
- 11:58Speaker 2: and it's Greg Sanky. So that's the one thing Mike
- 12:02Speaker 2: and I when we have done a show, when we
- 12:05Speaker 2: talked about the power for maybe separating that I disagreed with,
- 12:09Speaker 2: because even though there's four commissioners, they will never all
- 12:13Speaker 2: agree on anything, and Greg Sankee is the most powerful
- 12:17Speaker 2: of the commissioners. Even though the Big Ten is kind
- 12:20Speaker 2: of taken over as the better conference of football wise,
- 12:25Speaker 2: Greg Sankie still holds all the power. So I really
- 12:30Speaker 2: hold out hope that that it'll only go to sixteen
- 12:33Speaker 2: and know higher than that, Mike.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Even if it goes to sixteen, which I guess is fine,
- 12:37Speaker 1: but you're still gonna have a scenario. And this is
- 12:39Speaker 1: the problem. And I don't care what the coaches say.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I don't care what the university say. You're going to
- 12:44Speaker 1: arrive at a point where Ohio State and Michigan is
- 12:47Speaker 1: meaningless and they're going to rest players. And I don't
- 12:49Speaker 1: blame either coach for doing so. I don't, I really don't.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, whenever you hear a player or a
- 12:57Speaker 2: fan of Ohio State and Michigan say that the outcome
- 13:01Speaker 2: of that game is more important than the playoffs, that's laughable, stupid.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I mean, you're going for a national I understand it's
- 13:07Speaker 2: a great rivalry. I get it, But if you could
- 13:11Speaker 2: have a lose the Big Ten championship and win the
- 13:13Speaker 2: as Ohio State I think is done, and win the
- 13:17Speaker 2: National championship.
- 13:18Speaker 3: They did it.
- 13:19Speaker 2: That that's the thing. If you get to that point,
- 13:23Speaker 2: that would be bad. Yeah, when you get to rivalry
- 13:25Speaker 2: weekend and those games become resting games, that's hitting a
- 13:31Speaker 2: very very bad point.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Yes, Mike.
- 13:34Speaker 5: There was a headline from the NFL this week Jacoby
- 13:37Speaker 5: Brissett is not present as his team begins its first practice,
- 13:40Speaker 5: a voluntary OTAs the starting quarterback has been staying away
- 13:44Speaker 5: as he seeks a raise for twenty twenty six. My
- 13:47Speaker 5: question for you is, who the hell does Jacoby Brissett
- 13:49Speaker 5: think he is?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Well, I mean, here's here's here's the thing. Listen, overall,
- 13:55Speaker 2: I agree with you. You signed Gardner Minshew Gardner Minsha
- 13:58Speaker 2: could step in and be the starter, no problem.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You drafted Carson Beck.
- 14:03Speaker 2: And the thing about it is it's not like they're
- 14:05Speaker 2: going to compete for the title this year a year. Yes,
- 14:09Speaker 2: while Jacoby Brissett may be looking for I mean, listen,
- 14:13Speaker 2: you hear reports he's looking for a two hundred and
- 14:15Speaker 2: fifty million dollar deal. He's not gonna get that, and
- 14:18Speaker 2: that just again could be the agent throwing out a
- 14:20Speaker 2: big number and you take obviously less than that. He
- 14:23Speaker 2: wants to make more than the nine million he's supposed
- 14:25Speaker 2: to make, but he's not gonna make fifty million dollars.
- 14:28Speaker 2: So there's a wide range in the middle. And listen,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I don't blame a player for trying to get as
- 14:35Speaker 2: much as he could get, as long as you understand
- 14:38Speaker 2: where you are in the pecking order, right get as
- 14:42Speaker 2: much as you can. If you have to hold out
- 14:44Speaker 2: for a while, that's fine, but understand the line. Understand
- 14:49Speaker 2: where you fit in that line. He's not a two
- 14:52Speaker 2: hundred and fifty million dollar quarterback. He's not a fifty
- 14:55Speaker 2: million dollars a year quarterback. But I'll say, as a
- 14:57Speaker 2: former player, I hope he gets it. I'd love to
- 15:00Speaker 2: see him get it, But he shouldn't miss time trying
- 15:05Speaker 2: to get it because he's not going to get that.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Because Arizona could just say, all right, Gardner, Minshew's our starter.
- 15:10Speaker 2: We're not gonna waste any more time with this. If
- 15:14Speaker 2: Jacoby is asking for an outlandish amount.
- 15:17Speaker 4: The Cardinals are underdogs in all seventeen games as of
- 15:22Speaker 4: this point. Right now, Jacoby Brissett, you might want to
- 15:25Speaker 4: wonder what the point of your season is before you
- 15:27Speaker 4: start holding out for more money.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Uh, again, this is the time to do it. He's
- 15:32Speaker 2: not missing anything. He's been in the league long enough
- 15:35Speaker 2: he can pick up any offense. So when push comes
- 15:39Speaker 2: to shove, when training camp starts and you can just
- 15:43Speaker 2: it's not like it's like, oh, we have to start
- 15:45Speaker 2: Carson becka rookie. If Gardner Minshew who's been a starter,
- 15:50Speaker 2: been a backup, he's certainly a quality enough quarterback to
- 15:55Speaker 2: take over there. So Jacoby Brissett's playing the game here.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's okay because that's what you do to try and
- 16:02Speaker 2: get more money. As I said, he just has to
- 16:04Speaker 2: understand where the line is for him.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Mike Joe Burrow guarantee we'll get to Aaron Rodgers in
- 16:10Speaker 1: a second. Did Joe Burrow guarantee they're gonna win the
- 16:13Speaker 1: Super Bowl? I think he did, and I believe him.
- 16:17Speaker 1: He said it's the most talented team he's had, and
- 16:20Speaker 1: he's been on teams that have been to a Super Bowl.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Well, I mean, listen, when you talk about talented team, basically,
- 16:26Speaker 2: they they up the defense, right. They they went after
- 16:30Speaker 2: the defense in free agency. That was obviously huge for them.
- 16:36Speaker 2: So then that's obviously where they had to go. They
- 16:38Speaker 2: had to give their coordinator out Golden some some people
- 16:42Speaker 2: to work with and and again you look at the division.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Is Baltimore as strong as they've been? Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers
- 16:51Speaker 2: is coming back, Aaron Rodgers was okay, right, but he's
- 16:54Speaker 2: not the Aaron Rodgers of the Aaron Rodgers lower and
- 16:58Speaker 2: Cleveland is Cleveland. Yeah, so you certainly have a chance.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Your offense, there's no worries. Maybe pick up the running
- 17:06Speaker 2: game a little bit, but from a scoring standpoint and
- 17:09Speaker 2: a passing standpoint, they're one of the best in the league.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Their defense has to pick up the slack, there's no
- 17:14Speaker 2: doubt about it. But you can have a good defense
- 17:18Speaker 2: and make a run. But if you have a great
- 17:20Speaker 2: defense like Seattle, you have a better chance obviously of winning.
- 17:24Speaker 2: But I look at their division and I say, yeah, yeah,
- 17:27Speaker 2: they can win the division because of the talent they
- 17:30Speaker 2: have and the fact that is Baltimore. Really, do we
- 17:33Speaker 2: just automatically say Baltimore anymore? I don't know if we do.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yep stick out to here from my friends over at
- 17:39Speaker 1: FanDuel right now, New FanDuel customers can bet five dollars
- 17:42Speaker 1: and get one hundred and fifty in bonus bets if

- 19:38Speaker 1: What'd you make of Aaron Rodgers coming back for another season?
- 19:41Speaker 1: And do you believe him when he says next season
- 19:43Speaker 1: will be his last season?
- 19:45Speaker 2: I mean, I won't believe that until we're through training
- 19:49Speaker 2: camp next year and the season starts right, yes, because
- 19:54Speaker 2: he could be a guy that says he's done and
- 19:56Speaker 2: then all of a sudden in training camp, some major
- 19:58Speaker 2: quarterback on a great team gets hurt and they they
- 20:02Speaker 2: you know, they they call in the righty yeah. Uh,
- 20:04Speaker 2: and Aaron's like, oh, okay, all right, I'll play another year.
- 20:08Speaker 2: So I would I would say, yeah, I wait to
- 20:11Speaker 2: make sure there was no injuries and uh, and the
- 20:14Speaker 2: season started before I. I believe him, I I I get
- 20:18Speaker 2: him contemplating, and I get Mike McCarthy, you know, being
- 20:22Speaker 2: the guy that he spent so much time with, even
- 20:25Speaker 2: though it seemed to and not end well in Green Bay,
- 20:28Speaker 2: that they still have a relationship. And again, I wouldn't
- 20:33Speaker 2: pick them to win the division. I would put both
- 20:35Speaker 2: Cincinnati and Baltimore over them. Uh, quite honestly. But uh
- 20:41Speaker 2: and is it? Is it just stunting the growth of
- 20:44Speaker 2: a potential quarterback there right of of Will Howard? I don't.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I don't.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I don't think Drew Aller I I I have not
- 20:53Speaker 2: been a Drew Aller fan. Uh. But Will Howard? I mean,
- 20:56Speaker 2: do you start his clock? Mason Rudolph? We know he
- 21:00Speaker 2: has been around or is there not the quarterback of
- 21:02Speaker 2: the future on this roster just yet? But you're now
- 21:06Speaker 2: waiting another year to start that clock?
- 21:10Speaker 4: Mike, I'm curious how you think Aaron Rodgers' legacy will
- 21:14Speaker 4: be viewed because he's so unliked but there was no
- 21:18Speaker 4: like legal troubles or anything, and what he did on
- 21:21Speaker 4: the field was amazing. But he's just so not likable.
- 21:25Speaker 3: He's strolling into the Hall of Fame five years in
- 21:27Speaker 3: the day he retires.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Well yeah, I mean, he's definitely gonna do that because
- 21:31Speaker 4: because of the play on the field. But I'm just
- 21:32Speaker 4: wondering how you think will look back on Aaron Rodgers.
- 21:35Speaker 2: One of the greatest quarterbacks ever played. Yeah, I mean,
- 21:38Speaker 2: without question. Again, people that don't know him, you don't
- 21:43Speaker 2: have to break bread with him. If you think he's
- 21:44Speaker 2: a weird dude, that's fine. There's plenty of plenty of
- 21:49Speaker 2: guys like that. I've I've always gotten along with him,
- 21:51Speaker 2: known him now for years. But is he a little quirky, Yes,
- 21:55Speaker 2: But I mean, as you mentioned, no legal troubles or
- 21:59Speaker 2: any thing like that. He's just a very opinionated guy
- 22:03Speaker 2: on world issues, which we know in today's world. I mean, yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 2: you did that, just draws a line. But he's one
- 22:11Speaker 2: of the greatest quarterbacks ever played, one of the most
- 22:13Speaker 2: accurate quarterbacks ever play, and he belongs in the big
- 22:17Speaker 2: room in the Hall of Fame.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Just go.
- 22:19Speaker 1: It's a weird place to go back to But I'm
- 22:20Speaker 1: gonna go back to Jack Wagner for a second since
- 22:23Speaker 1: you told that story.
- 22:24Speaker 3: You know, I'm walking Tailor around Lake Tahoe last year.
- 22:27Speaker 1: It was his first year there, and he's asking me
- 22:29Speaker 1: who Jack Wagner is.
- 22:30Speaker 3: And I'm like, Hey, that's first go Jones from General Hospital.
- 22:33Speaker 3: What are you talking about? Days of our lives? Right?
- 22:35Speaker 1: And I explained to him Mike, And I'm wondering if
- 22:38Speaker 1: you agree that at one point Jack Wagner and his
- 22:41Speaker 1: like Pete Jack Wagner was more.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Famous than any of the people who were at Lake Tahoe.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Oh, I think so. I think so. When when soap
- 22:51Speaker 2: operas were big, and especially General Hospital, I watched the
- 22:54Speaker 2: ABC ones, I watched all my children in General Hospital?
- 23:00Speaker 2: General Hospital was it? Oh, there's no doubt that he was.
- 23:04Speaker 2: He was one of the most popular guys on the course.
- 23:07Speaker 2: I actually when I when I played for the first
- 23:10Speaker 2: time in Tahoe, I actually, you know in that in
- 23:13Speaker 2: that meeting, you know that we have all the golfers
- 23:17Speaker 2: and stuff. Yes, I actually sat next to him and
- 23:20Speaker 2: I contemplated, and I ended up doing it. I told
- 23:23Speaker 2: him the story of my engagement. He was so nice.
- 23:26Speaker 2: He probably couldn't have given a ship. He probably didn't
- 23:29Speaker 2: know who I was, right, And I'm sitting there like
- 23:32Speaker 2: a like a Kidney candy store telling him this story. Yes,
- 23:36Speaker 2: I left that. I left out the part that we
- 23:38Speaker 2: were really there to see the Michael Stanley.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Band, Mikey. Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 1: He consistently does this where he doesn't give himself enough
- 23:46Speaker 1: credit for people knowing who he is. Miles Teller is
- 23:49Speaker 1: at the same tournament and he cornered you for two
- 23:52Speaker 1: hours because he loves you.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Oh, Miles Teller and I got to golf with him.
- 23:56Speaker 2: That was awesome.
- 23:58Speaker 4: That was that was that.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Let me tell you that tournament got the plane in
- 24:03Speaker 2: a couple of years before they finally threw my ass
- 24:05Speaker 2: out as I sucked. Was everything it was cracked up
- 24:10Speaker 2: to be. I mean, that thing was just it's just
- 24:13Speaker 2: such a great, great tournament. Yeah, Miles tell her that
- 24:17Speaker 2: was a lot of fun golf with him. But yeah,
- 24:19Speaker 2: telling Jack Wagner that story. As I was telling him
- 24:22Speaker 2: that story, I'm like, God, what am I doing? He
- 24:25Speaker 2: doesn't give a damn. But he acted very nice and
- 24:29Speaker 2: very interested, So I give him credits for that.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Are you tired of Knicks? Fans.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Yet, Well, I'm from Cleveland, so obviously I like the players. Unfortunately,
- 24:40Speaker 2: thought they had the game wrapped up with seven some
- 24:43Speaker 2: minutes agoing up twenty two. I mean, you know, and
- 24:46Speaker 2: people are blaming Kenny Atkinson not calling a time out.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Took two with him. I get trying to save one.
- 24:53Speaker 2: If you have a challenge, should he have called the
- 24:55Speaker 2: time out to break the moment? And yes, but when
- 24:58Speaker 2: you're down twenty two and you get out scored in
- 25:01Speaker 2: the last seven minutes of regulation, in five minutes of
- 25:04Speaker 2: overtime forty four to eleven, it ain't just the fact
- 25:08Speaker 2: that the coach didn't call time out. Okay, hit a bucket,
- 25:11Speaker 2: one bucket, Donovan Mitchell all of a sudden couldn't hit anything.
- 25:16Speaker 2: You're leaving You're leaving James harden on Jalen Brunson to
- 25:20Speaker 2: just get blown by. Yes, I mean, there's so much
- 25:25Speaker 2: it has to go right for the Knicks and so
- 25:27Speaker 2: much it has to go wrong for Cleveland. But man,
- 25:30Speaker 2: that was such an opportunity for Cleveland that San Antonio
- 25:36Speaker 2: took advantage of in Game one against Oklahoma City that
- 25:40Speaker 2: Cleveland could.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Not Mike, You've been doing this both of us. We've
- 25:43Speaker 1: been doing this for so long and at times I've
- 25:45Speaker 1: thought to myself, We'll never see something better than Michael Jordan.
- 25:49Speaker 1: And I'm not saying it is better than Michael Jordan.
- 25:51Speaker 1: It's just different and unique and something we've never seen before.
- 25:55Speaker 3: And it's Wenby. It's incredible.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's it's if you talk about out, you know, the
- 26:01Speaker 2: the old the old talk radio question of who you
- 26:05Speaker 2: spending the most money to watch in person? Yeah, it's Wemby,
- 26:08Speaker 2: Yes right, yeah, I mean it's Wemby. Listen watching Michael Jordan,
- 26:12Speaker 2: or watching Lebron, or watching Steph Curry or watching what
- 26:16Speaker 2: you know, SGA, one of the young guns is great.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But to see a seven four, seven five guy, he's
- 26:22Speaker 2: a unicorn. So amongst I think basketball players are the
- 26:26Speaker 2: best athletes in the world. And there's even obviously levels
- 26:30Speaker 2: on the basketball court. And and Wemby at seven four
- 26:34Speaker 2: to dribble the way he does and and shoot the
- 26:37Speaker 2: way he does and plug I mean literally Oklahoma See
- 26:41Speaker 2: Oklahoma City is doing drive buys in the paint because
- 26:44Speaker 2: they won't put up a shot in the paint when
- 26:46Speaker 2: Wenby's in the game. And then Wemby's on the sideline
- 26:49Speaker 2: and they're driving like they're at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to
- 26:53Speaker 2: the basket. Yes, I mean, he is, without question the
- 26:57Speaker 2: guy to watch in the NBA.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Ye all right, Mike, we have a new game. We
- 27:02Speaker 1: know you love the games around here, so I think
- 27:05Speaker 1: you're like, yeah, it's a new game that we call
- 27:09Speaker 1: one Table.
- 27:10Speaker 3: All right? Do we have imaging for this tailor? We do? Oh?
- 27:14Speaker 3: Very exciting.
- 27:14Speaker 7: All right, there's one table left at the hottest spot
- 27:18Speaker 7: in town, and everybody wants it. Who's getting it and
- 27:23Speaker 7: who's getting left? Outside? Greatness gets seated, everyone else waits.
- 27:30Speaker 7: This is one table.
- 27:33Speaker 3: It's one table.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Mike.
- 27:35Speaker 1: You're the host at the restaurant. Okay, and so you
- 27:38Speaker 1: decide who gets this table. Two different people are walking in.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Taylor has the first one for you.
- 27:43Speaker 5: So, Mike, this table is going to be in South Bend, Indiana.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Brady Quinn walks in, and Rudy Rudiger walks in.
- 27:52Speaker 3: Oh wow, who gets the table?
- 27:54Speaker 2: That's Brady Quinn. It's not even close. Wow. Really, Rudy
- 27:58Speaker 2: might not get let in the door, what I mean? Yeah?
- 28:02Speaker 3: All right, all right, Now Tim Brown walks in.
- 28:06Speaker 2: See Tim was a teammate of mine at Notre Dame.
- 28:11Speaker 2: I tell you that Tim Tim Brown.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Story, no, no, please do.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I was. I was a senior captain at Notre Dame.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Tim Brown was a true freshman out of Dallas, and
- 28:22Speaker 2: we played Perdue opening game his true freshman year, first
- 28:25Speaker 2: game my senior year. He's back there to receive the
- 28:28Speaker 2: opening kickoff right, and what does he do. First time
- 28:31Speaker 2: he touches the ball, He fumbles. Perdue recovers on like
- 28:36Speaker 2: their four yard line, right or our four yard line.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So we thought the offense is going on the field.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Now we're scrambling putting our helmets on, defenses running out
- 28:45Speaker 2: on the field, and me being you know, a supposed
- 28:48Speaker 2: leader and the captain. I get in front of Tim
- 28:50Speaker 2: Brown as he obviously feels horrible. He's a freshman. He
- 28:53Speaker 2: first time he touched the ball, he fumbled. Stopped me
- 28:56Speaker 2: and I said, dude, don't worry about it. We're gonna
- 28:57Speaker 2: need you. You know, everything will be all right, all good.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I tried to pep him up, patted him on the
- 29:02Speaker 2: button as he ran off the field, and I ran
- 29:04Speaker 2: on the field and I said to myself, that kid's
- 29:06Speaker 2: never gonna make it. He's got a Heisman Trophy, Heisman Trophy,
- 29:14Speaker 2: College Hall of Fame, NFL Hall of Fame. And that's
- 29:17Speaker 2: what I said. That's me knowing talent, right, But yeah, listen,
- 29:22Speaker 2: I love Brady Quinn. I absolutely love Brady Quinn. But
- 29:25Speaker 2: I think he would even understand Tim Brown was a
- 29:28Speaker 2: teammate of mine.
- 29:29Speaker 1: All Right, so this restaurant is in Philadelphia, you were
- 29:33Speaker 1: the host of said restaurant, and in walks Jalen Hurts
- 29:36Speaker 1: and at the same time, Nick Foles walks in.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Who gets the table?
- 29:41Speaker 1: Wowyeh, Probably Jalen Hurts, but maybe Foles.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I mean, that's the only other choice. It should be
- 29:52Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts. Yeah, yeah, it would be Jalen Hurts. Yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 2: he would get the seat. All Right, you decide this.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Don't let me sway you I mean, no, no, okay, Jalen.
- 30:02Speaker 3: All right, Jayleen, I tell you have another one.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yep, I have one. This table is going to be
- 30:07Speaker 5: in New York City because we don't want anybody having
- 30:10Speaker 5: a home court advantage. Oh wow, Tony Kornheiser walks in
- 30:15Speaker 5: and Mike Wilbaum walk in.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Neutral sight, who gets the table? Yeah?
- 30:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I would probably I would love them both. I
- 30:22Speaker 2: would probably uh seat Michael Wilbon.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah would I who wants Cornheiser in
- 30:28Speaker 1: the restaurant anyway?
- 30:29Speaker 3: Crotchety, Oh no, I.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Mean I would have Tony in there. I know Michael
- 30:33Speaker 2: a little better, Yes, then I know Tony, so I
- 30:36Speaker 2: would go Michael.
- 30:36Speaker 3: All right, Now, Chris Berman walks in.
- 30:40Speaker 2: It'd probably be Boomer listen. I wouldn't I wouldn't have
- 30:44Speaker 2: to worry about my side of the conversation. I would
- 30:47Speaker 2: just be listening to Boom.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Mikey, do you have one here?
- 30:52Speaker 4: Sure? Uh, this table will put it in Minneapolis.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Oh, Randy monks, Randy Moss walks in, Chris.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Carter walks, Oh wow, CC well again, Chris Carter was
- 31:04Speaker 2: my teammate in Philly. Uh though those were some rough
- 31:08Speaker 2: years for him personally, and then he went to Minnesota
- 31:11Speaker 2: and just was was fantastic. Yeah, Buddy Ryan said he
- 31:14Speaker 2: always cut Chris Carter and to drive get him and
- 31:17Speaker 2: do him a favor and get him out of Philadelphia
- 31:19Speaker 2: and to help him, and it certainly did. But Jack, Chris,
- 31:23Speaker 2: Chris is a friend of mine. Chris is a teammate
- 31:25Speaker 2: of mine, So it'd be Chris Carter all.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Right, So this is in South Bend, Indiana. I realize
- 31:31Speaker 1: he has passed. He may you rest in peace. Okay,
- 31:36Speaker 1: But Lou Haltz at his peak, walks into the restaurant
- 31:39Speaker 1: at his peak peak.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Lou Holtz fresh off.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Of national championship, okay, and Marcus Freeman walks in.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Who gets the table?
- 31:50Speaker 7: Wow?
- 31:51Speaker 1: One has won a national championship. The other is good looking,
- 31:55Speaker 1: but very good looking.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I would probably go with Marcus. I'd probably go
- 32:00Speaker 2: with Marcus. Yeah.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's disrespectful a Haltz. I mean, jeez, is it though?
- 32:06Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you know what, There'll be others
- 32:08Speaker 2: in the restaurant willing to take Lou at their table. Yeah,
- 32:13Speaker 2: he has found the loophole everyone.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, Taylor has one, Mike y A
- 32:19Speaker 1: has one, and then a guy ahead Mike yet.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Okay, Mike Golick Junior walks in. Jake Golic walks in.
- 32:27Speaker 4: Who gets the table?
- 32:28Speaker 3: Where? Where's the where's the restaurant? Where is it?
- 32:30Speaker 4: This doesn't matter, it's it's the Golic household.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Okay, listen, It's it's both or nothing. There's no way
- 32:36Speaker 2: I can pick that. You know that, right? You know
- 32:39Speaker 2: I can't do.
- 32:39Speaker 4: That unless Sidney walks in.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Then there, let's do it this way. Sidney walks in,
- 32:42Speaker 3: Mike Golick Junior walks in.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Still still still really really couldn't do it, Mike Junior
- 32:50Speaker 2: still really really couldn't.
- 32:52Speaker 3: Couldn't do it right, And Sydney would be using your
- 32:54Speaker 3: credit card.
- 32:55Speaker 2: So yeah, Sidney would say, Okay, if I can't sit
- 32:58Speaker 2: at the table, give me your credit card to my own.
- 33:00Speaker 1: No, even if she sits at the table, she's still
- 33:03Speaker 1: using your credit card, all right, Taylor, Yeah, yeah, no doubt.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Taylor has one more. We'll get you out of here. Mike,
- 33:07Speaker 1: thank you for doing this.
- 33:09Speaker 5: So this one is with three people that all grew
- 33:12Speaker 5: up together. The table's gonna be in Dallas, Texas. Matthew
- 33:16Speaker 5: Stafford walks in, Scotty Scheffler walks in, and Clayton Kershaw
- 33:21Speaker 5: walks in.
- 33:21Speaker 2: Like, oh wow, he gets the table.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Three Highland Park alumni walk in.
- 33:27Speaker 2: I would I would Scotty Scheffler. I mean, I just
- 33:32Speaker 2: for the fact that I haven't met him, I know
- 33:35Speaker 2: the other two, and I would just love to have
- 33:38Speaker 2: conversation with him. And it wouldn't all be about golf, obviously,
- 33:42Speaker 2: I hate to burden him with that, but yeah, I
- 33:44Speaker 2: think I think it would be Scotty Scheffler. It wouldn't
- 33:47Speaker 2: be about golf, and it would be about the night
- 33:48Speaker 2: he spent in jail.
- 33:49Speaker 3: So okay, last one for you. Okay, this table's in
- 33:54Speaker 3: Lake Tahoe.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Jack Wagner walks in, Okay, and Travis Kelson he walks in,
- 34:01Speaker 1: and you know who Travis is breaking?
- 34:02Speaker 3: So who gets the table?
- 34:05Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:05Speaker 2: That would be Travis Kelcey. I actually know Travis would
- 34:08Speaker 2: get along with him very very well. Both from Cleveland. Yes,
- 34:12Speaker 2: so yeah, it would be It would be Travis and
- 34:15Speaker 2: the the the accompanying people that would come with it.
- 34:20Speaker 2: It would be a large table.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Yep.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Jack would be so disappointed. I mean he really would.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I know, shared that story with him that he didn't
- 34:27Speaker 3: listen to.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I mean yeah, yeah that he ended up being very
- 34:32Speaker 2: nice and then said, who the hell.
- 34:36Speaker 3: It sounds like you liked the game one table, Mike?
- 34:38Speaker 3: Is that fair?
- 34:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 34:39Speaker 2: That was pretty good.
