- 0:08back to the Simply Christ podcast hosted by Leon Martin,
- 0:11along with Aaron Keaton, Melvin Martin, Andrew Schrock and Dan
- 0:15Blatz. Let's get right to it.
- 0:18Thanks for being on here tonight, guys.
- 0:20We're having a discussion here before we get started.
- 0:24And sometimes we get off in the left field a little ways, but
- 0:27it's all good. So welcome tonight to the Simply
- 0:30Christ Bible study. Or we're going to look at God's
- 0:34Word and inspect it and see if we can learn something that
- 0:39would help us live this life more righteously and more holy
- 0:45and reflect the grace of the mercy of God even more than than
- 0:49before. So I think the answer is in the
- 0:53in the pages of the Bible here by and large, but it's up to us
- 0:57to kind of look at it and see. So that's what we're going to
- 1:00do. Before we do that, though, I'll
- 1:02open us up with the word of prayer.
- 1:04God, thank you for this day. Thank you for this beautiful day
- 1:07here in the Midwest. Thank you for your goodness.
- 1:09Thank you for your grace and mercy.
- 1:11God, we just pray for tonight's Bible study that we could talk
- 1:17about this clearly and with clear minds.
- 1:19Pray that you would help us to differentiate the words they
- 1:23should the way they should be, the way that you meant them to
- 1:27be understood. And God, I pray that our
- 1:29listeners could have open hearts, open ears at ourselves
- 1:33that we can learn of of you, God, so that we can serve you
- 1:37and honor and glorify you as we live our lives here on this
- 1:41earth. And so God, I just thank you and
- 1:44praise you in Jesus name, Amen. Yeah.
- 1:49So you're about ready for the camp over there, Andrew, this
- 1:54weekend, right? Yeah, probably a little bit more
- 1:58headache game this time and we're it's looking good.
- 2:03I don't have work planned for the rest of the week, so I'm
- 2:08still doing stuff around the farm here.
- 2:10But yeah, it should be very much ready.
- 2:13Yeah, Did it, did you get a lot of rain last week?
- 2:15I, I was in, I was in Indiana on Thursday, Friday and overnight
- 2:21and it had it stormed and rained a bunch.
- 2:23It's in northern Indiana there. We got a pretty good downpour
- 2:29yesterday, but it's been pretty dry and it's really nice out
- 2:33right now, so Oh yeah, it looks like it's going to be amazing
- 2:36weather. Yeah, looks like low.
- 2:39Saturday, Thursday, yeah, it's really beautiful.
- 2:44It'll be beautiful. And and it what's cool is like
- 2:4880% chance I think of rain Thursday and also Monday and
- 2:53where our camp is Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- 2:59That's cool, Pretty cool. Are you coming up, Melvin?
- 3:02Are you guys planning on being there though?
- 3:04Yeah. Oh yeah, I saw they're signed
- 3:07up. I was like, oh, there, we'll.
- 3:08Be there guaranteed. I'm bringing my camper.
- 3:11So I, I, I took my heater out of the camper, but it sounds like I
- 3:15should maybe put it back in. I might need that.
- 3:19I'm from the South. You know my blood's put thin.
- 3:22Yeah, upper 50s. That's perfect for blankets.
- 3:26Yeah, yeah. Oh, it's going to be different.
- 3:28You're not where you have your ACS, it's usually.
- 3:34You'll probably have your ACS setter like 55 or 60 anyway.
- 3:38That's what's so funny. Hannah's from South Mississippi
- 3:41and they're like, Oh yeah, got the heat.
- 3:43You know, that's not that bad. Then you walk in their house and
- 3:46it's freezing in there. It's.
- 3:49Hilarious. My wife accuses me of that too.
- 3:52She walks in the house and she's like, why is it so cold in here?
- 3:55Why turn the AC back? Yeah.
- 4:01Are you, are you any, do any of you guys pick mulberries or
- 4:06don't you have mulberries in Kentucky?
- 4:08Oh yeah. Yeah, we have mulberries, but I,
- 4:11yeah, I mean, that's something we never really picked, I guess,
- 4:15blackberries, you know, beside the road.
- 4:18We've got a pretty big patch across the road from our house
- 4:20here that we pick sometimes, but not mulberries.
- 4:23Yeah, I was, we got a bunch. They they grow in the fence rows
- 4:26here, of course, which I'm sure they do most places, but I like
- 4:30them. They're they're they make good
- 4:32Jelly or jam or whatever wine if you want to make that.
- 4:37But they're so tedious to pick. Is there, Andrew, do you guys
- 4:40pick any of that that you use or if you do, how do you do it?
- 4:45Basically the girls they go out and pick them some and one time
- 4:501 picker box. So I put a Torrado tree at the
- 4:54business here for. Now you're cutting out a little
- 5:00bit adder. I didn't get all that.
- 5:03One time a bunch of them and so I put a top under the tree and
- 5:09there and short the tree, but it's still a missed Yeah.
- 5:16So they're separated with it that.
- 5:18I was thinking to try that to see if that would work because,
- 5:21yeah, around here they're just getting ripe ready now.
- 5:23And like I said, they're good, but they're so tedious to pick
- 5:27any amount of. But what I'm picking up, I eat
- 5:30every other water, every two of that, put one in the bucket.
- 5:34Just get, get, and if you're not.
- 5:37What's that, Melvin? I said just get your children a
- 5:39bunch of ice cream buckets and let them pick a set of I can.
- 5:43I can see you probably not having the patience to pick them
- 5:45your children. Absolutely not.
- 5:52Yeah. All right, well, we'll get into
- 5:55the word here and see if we can pick up a few mulberries or some
- 5:58Nuggets out of there for us that way.
- 5:59So I think verse 8, if I'm correct, Kevin Hoppers, right.
- 6:09We're barely out of the snow up there.
- 6:11Yeah. Good.
- 6:12Good for him. I'm glad I don't live there.
- 6:15We're planning our second garden already, so.
- 6:18Yeah, yeah. You guys cropped one round
- 6:20already, didn't you? That's.
- 6:21Right, we were. We just dug our potatoes today
- 6:23and we were ready to put in another crop so.
- 6:25Wow, that's crazy. We're we're just getting our
- 6:28fresh strawberries here now, so. Oh, serious?
- 6:30Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:31Now we had strawberry. Our strawberries are over.
- 6:33We had strawberries a month ago or more.
- 6:38I just parted my sweet born and saw my in laws.
- 6:42They're picking sweet corn and like what?
- 6:45Wow, I had sweet corn for supper tonight.
- 6:49No kidding. Worse.
- 6:50Yeah. What in the world?
- 6:52We're a long ways off yet. Well, all right, verse 8,
- 6:59Colossians chapter 3, verse 8 is where we're going to be tonight.
- 7:03We're going to start off with anyway, that verse says, but now
- 7:07ye but now ye also put off all these anger, wrath, malice,
- 7:12blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
- 7:16And that comes after we talked to verse five last time where it
- 7:23says mortify. Therefore your members which are
- 7:25upon the earth, you know, fornication are clear list into
- 7:29order, affection, evil, concuba sense and covetousness, which is
- 7:33idolatry. And so now these this list of
- 7:41sins, I guess if you want to call it that, are kind of a
- 7:46little more like everyday stuff. It strikes a little closer to
- 7:50home a lot of ways, like talking about being angry to put that
- 7:55off wrath, you know, and and malice, just being mean hearted
- 8:02evil, just mean hearted nasty or blasphemy, filthy communication.
- 8:10That's, you know, common, this common stuff right here that
- 8:13we're talking about, isn't it, Andrew?
- 8:17Yeah, he was telling us the old man is crucified and the
- 8:21affections and lusts and everything, the body of sin is
- 8:24destroyed and all that we're completing Christ.
- 8:27And then when the people say, well, So what do you do then?
- 8:29You just, you just do what you want.
- 8:31He says, no, that's actually you got a benefit here.
- 8:33You're free from the this thing called sin and what's unclean
- 8:37and ungodly and dark. And he's like, if you don't know
- 8:40what that is, then here, here they are.
- 8:45Anger, wrath, malice, blaspheming throughout the
- 8:47communication. All those things are the things
- 8:50that you're free from. Walk like it.
- 8:52Walk worthy of the vocation, walk worthy of the Lord and all
- 8:55that. And I don't, I guess I don't
- 9:01really know why we need to be told.
- 9:02I guess it's nice to know specifically like all the
- 9:06darkness, you know, isn't it enough to know that we're
- 9:09delivered from darkness? But I've worked with believers
- 9:15and do still now and then. But especially in unbelieving
- 9:20circles, it's really annoying. But it's more annoying in
- 9:24believer circles when the atmosphere is dark, when there's
- 9:28a lot of dirty jokes or semi swearing or whatever, just
- 9:37constantly yelling at stuff or just that toxic environment.
- 9:42I think a believer, what Paul is saying here is an in a
- 9:45believer's environment, it's positive, it's clean, it's
- 9:49uplifting. And even swearing, there's a
- 9:52bunch of people now saying, well, swearing is not sin.
- 9:55It's angry swearing like you're angry or out of control or or
- 9:59whatever, but you can't curse and have a positive atmosphere
- 10:06right at the same moment. Like it's just it, doesn't it?
- 10:09It as much as you want to paint it, it's like, well, it's just
- 10:13we've been trained to think it's bad.
- 10:15No, a negative attitude and and basically cussing out things in
- 10:23what you would say consider in a godly manner.
- 10:26I I'm glad Paul just said filthy communication.
- 10:30Just there's a negative and a positive, and what you say and
- 10:35do is going to affect whether it's light or darkness and what
- 10:40atmosphere you create, whether it's with your family or at the
- 10:42workplace. And I'm telling you, if you're
- 10:44working with people that are constantly swearing, using God's
- 10:47name in vain and all that, and just losing their cool, getting
- 10:51angry and out of control. I really like what Dan was
- 10:55saying last time about anger. And it's true.
- 10:59We get angry and it's not sin a lot of times.
- 11:02God got so angry so many times. Was he sinning then?
- 11:06No, he got so angry. He says so and he's like his his
- 11:11fire was kindled and he was about to kill everybody.
- 11:14I mean, he was that angry. Was God sinning?
- 11:16No, it's a righteous fury against evil.
- 11:20And so I take it as this far, I think it's very healthy for the
- 11:26kids to see that I'm upset when they do things that are not
- 11:31right. Like they shouldn't see me being
- 11:34this pacifist that is just always happy, even when they do
- 11:37evil. They need to see that Andrew
- 11:39gets daddy gets upset and he gets angry because God gets
- 11:42angry. And but it's a very controlled
- 11:46angry out of love that they will always know of it.
- 11:50It's that love and passion that I have for righteousness that
- 11:52I'm upset. I would like to use the word
- 11:56upset more than angry when it comes to kids like my own
- 11:59children. Like they need to know that I'm
- 12:00upset. I'm not happy about the
- 12:02situation, but I don't need them to see me lose it.
- 12:08You know, lashing out, out of control and all that good.
- 12:13Stuff. Yeah, yeah, that's right.
- 12:17Being angry, like even like for your kids, it's good to see that
- 12:23when you're upset at unrighteousness or like when
- 12:27somebody you know, like this is God in a way, or even even when
- 12:34you hear a message or something that you're like, man, that was
- 12:37like not good. You know, it upsets you.
- 12:40That's actually showing them that you really care about the
- 12:44truth. And then that is really
- 12:46important. Like, so that's not bad.
- 12:48What is bad when you get so angry that you call the
- 12:50preacher, you know, just trouts all over it.
- 12:52That's that's, you know, that's ungodly.
- 12:55You can't explain that away at all.
- 12:57But yeah, no, but oh, you're muted.
- 13:03Hang on a second. Try that again.
- 13:09There we go all right, there we go.
- 13:12Can you hear me now? I was just going to say that I
- 13:17dealt with a lot of anger in my life previous to conversion.
- 13:22I got very angry at all the time, not all the time, but I
- 13:27would get I just dealt with anger a lot.
- 13:31And here's kind of the thing that I see about anger from,
- 13:37from my experience with anger. And still, sometimes I still
- 13:42struggle with that. It's something that it seems
- 13:46like I'm pretty easily tempted with.
- 13:49But after I got saved, I, I just, I had power over that the,
- 13:55the, the unrighteous anger. But one thing I was going to say
- 14:01about anger is I think where the difference comes in is when
- 14:05you're angry at like a situation or like you were saying
- 14:12something that your children did.
- 14:13If you're angry at that and not necessarily at the person or at
- 14:18your child, you know, like if you're like you were saying, if
- 14:23you call the preacher and you're just reaming him out, you're
- 14:27angry at him, right? And, and that I know and like in
- 14:32your, in your children's case as well, like when your children do
- 14:35something, you can get it's OK to be angry at maybe what they
- 14:40had done and, and whatever it is that that they have done,
- 14:44whether it's a bad thing or sin or whatever it is.
- 14:48But to be angry at the person themselves and knocking them
- 14:53down and, and degrading them or manipulating them, because it's
- 14:58so easy when you're angry to actually use it as manipulation.
- 15:05Yeah. And that's not good that that's
- 15:07not, that's not the right kind of anger.
- 15:10There's a there's a verse speaking about communication,
- 15:17filthy communication or, or swearing and that kind of thing.
- 15:22There's a verse that I come across a long time ago and it's
- 15:25just one of my favorite verses in Ephesians 429 where it says
- 15:30let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but
- 15:34that which is good to the use of edify and that it may minister
- 15:39grace unto the hears. That.
- 15:42Verse has stuck with me for a long time.
- 15:44And I just, I, I keep wanting to go back to that because as a
- 15:50teenager and as a young person, I had a foul mouth like I would,
- 15:55I would use foul language, a lock.
- 15:59And it's so easy to get snatched into that where as soon as
- 16:04something triggers you, it just, it flows out of your mouth
- 16:08without even thinking or trying sometimes.
- 16:12And anyway, it's just, yeah. And the Bible is pretty clear
- 16:17about. The.
- 16:19Communication out of your mouth that it may minister Grace and
- 16:22his use of edifying. So in other words, either you're
- 16:26speaking positively or upbuilding or you're speaking
- 16:31negatively or degraded it. There's there's not really a a
- 16:35middle Rd. hardly. It's so.
- 16:39Yeah, I agree. I don't I, I would say go far as
- 16:43as far as to say that there is no like no neutral word that's
- 16:49either it's either good or bad. Like there's not really.
- 16:53I mean, there's some that don't have as much impact as others,
- 16:56but their origin is either of peace or of, you know, hate or
- 17:00whatever. Yeah, Cameron.
- 17:05And I'll read it because that everyone can see that's, that's
- 17:08good. He said that only a fruitful,
- 17:11healthy fellowship with Jesus will bring an ability to detect
- 17:14and to fix these problems with ourselves.
- 17:16Draw close to Christ and he will give you light.
- 17:19The first steps are hard, but the peaceable fruits thereof are
- 17:22most excellent. And that's that's right.
- 17:25And that's exactly why it's I think it's important to read and
- 17:28study and know the word because that we'll, we'll find out here
- 17:33as we go on. Kind of what you know, he is
- 17:36instructing these these people here in Colossia, the ways of
- 17:41righteousness. That's what this book is.
- 17:42That's what we're reading and studying how to be rid of these
- 17:45things. And we'll even kind of see what
- 17:47his recipe is for it here. And yeah, you too, Cameron, that
- 17:54jesting is a trap. And I was when Andrew was
- 17:57talking, I was thinking the same thing.
- 17:59It irritates me. And I probably do it myself
- 18:02without thinking even. But suggestive jokes.
- 18:06OK, so you're not telling a a dirty joke, but it's a
- 18:10suggestive suggestive, which is just as bad in a lot of cases,
- 18:16you know? And, and the other thing is, you
- 18:18know, people like this is out of the public a lot.
- 18:21I see this, you know, people that would call themselves
- 18:24Christians, you know, that they're swearing or cussing a
- 18:27row and then they notice I have my kids with me.
- 18:29Then they're like, oh, I'm sorry.
- 18:31You know, I see the kids are with, you know, pardon me.
- 18:33I won't ever want to hear kids to hear that I'm like, you're
- 18:37using the name of God in vain, you know, in in relation to
- 18:41that. The kids hearing it is nothing.
- 18:43They know better. You know, it's not going to
- 18:44affect. Oh, yeah.
- 18:45I wish you wouldn't, but you know, so.
- 18:48Yeah, verse 9, lie, not one to another, seeing that ye have put
- 18:56off the old man with his deeds. And I think this kind of
- 19:01stretches back over verse 8 too. I don't know.
- 19:04I mean, it's maybe talking specifically about lying, but I
- 19:06think the reason that you would want to put this off, you know,
- 19:11evil Cubans, is covetousness, which is idolatry.
- 19:14All those other things, wrath, malice, blasphemy, is because
- 19:17they're part of the old man. They are not part put it off.
- 19:20Andrew, your comments on that? Yeah, and verse?
- 19:23Three says for or verse 2, set your affections and things
- 19:27above, not on things in the earth, for ye are dead and your
- 19:30life is hit with Christ and God. And then verse nine line out one
- 19:33another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his
- 19:36deeds. That's hard for me to believe,
- 19:40but that's what that's how God is counting it and that's his
- 19:46plan to put away sins. It's his plan to deal with our
- 19:49problem and he's telling us whether you like it or not, but
- 19:55the means by which we are we walk in righteousness and he
- 19:59spells out all the things that are bad to if you want to you
- 20:03want light. It's going to later tell us more
- 20:05about what the light is the fruit of the spirit.
- 20:07Other places tells us eat in detail the fruits of the spirit
- 20:11and what that looks like. So for those that think that
- 20:14this grace that we preach gives you license to send that you're.
- 20:19The Christ did all the work and that's just up to me to believe
- 20:22it. Well, here gives you a lots of
- 20:23details of what not to do as someone that is washed, someone
- 20:27that is redeemed, someone that is made free from sin.
- 20:31And so you can't. It's, it's cool that not only,
- 20:37it's a good thing that not only are we made free from sin by the
- 20:41sacrifice of Christ, but then he also tells us, look, now you've
- 20:45got the ability and the power that he's in Christ to walk in
- 20:48that freedom. And the way you do it is by
- 20:51having spiritual wisdom and understanding, like you said in
- 20:54chapter 1 of this book, that the reason we don't walk worthy of
- 20:57the Lord is the lack of spiritual wisdom and
- 20:59understanding. So now that we know what God
- 21:03dying and rising again did to us, it, it put our old flesh in
- 21:08the man to death so that we can walk in righteousness.
- 21:10Well, this is what he's talking about.
- 21:12Don't be angry, don't lie one to another, be a nice guy, be
- 21:17light, 'cause you've been made light.
- 21:19He's not telling us to be that way so that we become righteous.
- 21:22But because you are washed, because you are redeemed,
- 21:25because you are risen with Christ, because you are
- 21:27circumcised, because you are risen from the dead, now act
- 21:31like it. And you have the right and the
- 21:33power to walk in that which you are made and which is righteous.
- 21:37So it'd be not it would be A and you'd be inconsistent and you
- 21:43would be a hypocrite to embrace darkness when you're in the
- 21:47Kingdom of light. Like, come on.
- 21:50And how can you say you love the cross and you love
- 21:52righteousness, but then love sin and darkness at the same time?
- 21:56It just doesn't work that way. Del for.
- 21:59Sure. Yeah, that's right, Melvin.
- 22:01Yeah, I. I just looking at this Ephesians
- 22:04chapter 4 and you know, you hear a lot of terms these days that
- 22:11especially even in Christian circles about, you know, having
- 22:14to put off your old man or I'm, I'm dealing with my flesh or I'm
- 22:19dealing with you. And we do deal with our flesh.
- 22:20We do walk in the flesh sometimes.
- 22:22But here is specifically talking about our old man.
- 22:25And and I hear people say, well, I'm still, you know, this old
- 22:29man is rising up within me or whatever the terms are.
- 22:33And that's not really true. Old man is dead.
- 22:37He just cut down saying pretty clearly, but in Ephesians 4 he
- 22:41says, who? Let's see verse 19.
- 22:45Ephesians 4, verse 19. He says, Who being past feeling,
- 22:49have given themselves over unto the viciousness, and to work all
- 22:52on cleanliness with greediness. But ye have not so learned
- 22:57Christ, if so be that you have heard him and have been taught
- 23:01by him, as the truth is in Jesus that you put off concerning the
- 23:06former conversation, the old man which is corrupt according to
- 23:11the deceitful lust. So in other words, he's trying
- 23:14to say, look guys, before you learned of Christ, and before
- 23:19you put your faith in Christ, you were given over to this
- 23:23whole list that we just went through here in Colossians.
- 23:27He said you were that. But you have not so learned
- 23:31Christ that he's saying now that you are in Christ.
- 23:34That's not the truth. That's not who you are anymore.
- 23:38Your old man has been put off like he's been dead and he's
- 23:42been crucified. It says in Romans 6.
- 23:45And so, so to, to say that we're still our old man is rising up
- 23:51or, or again or whatever where that can't be true because not
- 23:57if you're born again, if you're in Christ, because that thing is
- 24:01dead. And so you're looking, you're
- 24:03like living like you were formulate before Christ like.
- 24:06And so you can't do you can't be living like that.
- 24:09I mean, not if you're born again.
- 24:11The truth is, is that your old man has been crucified with
- 24:15Christ on the cross. And so walk in that.
- 24:18I think the key to that was walking in that and, and
- 24:23trusting and putting your faith and, and understanding that that
- 24:27is where we're at. Because in Colossians 3, what
- 24:32was it, verse 7, he said that when he went through the list of
- 24:36the evil concoctious and idolatry and all that he says in
- 24:40the which he also walked some time when you lived in them.
- 24:44So in other words, he was saying you walk in this, but now you
- 24:48are not walking in that anymore. You're walking in the in the
- 24:52truth that your old man has been put to death.
- 24:56Yeah. That's right, You know, and I I
- 25:00know I was noticing earlier tonight when I was getting ready
- 25:04for this that it says several places here in our text, like
- 25:12verse 8, it says put off all these.
- 25:15You have put off all these modify your members.
- 25:18And in Ephesians chapter 6, it says put on the whole armor of
- 25:24God. And then here in a little bit in
- 25:27Colossians here, it's going to say put on.
- 25:30Therefore, you know, it tells us to put off and put on.
- 25:33And, and you see that a lot of the scriptures.
- 25:35And when you think about it, like when I, when I put on my
- 25:39clothes in the morning, you know, it's I, I do it
- 25:43intentionally, very intentionally.
- 25:45Like in other words, I look at the forecast, I look at what the
- 25:48temperature is. I think about what I'm going to
- 25:50be doing that day, and then I put the clothes on that I need
- 25:54for that day. It's very intentional.
- 25:57It's it's forward-looking, you know, and if we, if we read this
- 26:01the same way, like we think about it in the morning, we're
- 26:05like, yeah, OK, today I'm probably going to be temptation.
- 26:08The weather outside is terrible. You know, whatever you know,
- 26:11you're going to, you're going to.
- 26:12But so, so put on these things like intentional, be
- 26:16intentional. And you know, like before you
- 26:19even get tempted, know that you have the way is already made for
- 26:24you, right? See what I'm saying?
- 26:25Like it's not a it's not a I think to think about it after
- 26:29you've sinned, you know, after you've like you've run into this
- 26:34wall, you hit your thumb with a hammer and all of a sudden
- 26:37you're trying to deal with something.
- 26:39Whereas I think your reaction would be different if prior to
- 26:43that, you know who who was that? That's was it Daniel, I think.
- 26:48Was it Daniel? Yeah, I remember one of those.
- 26:52It says that that he purposed in his heart not to defile his body
- 26:56with the King's meat. He said, and you know, before he
- 27:00ever hit that temptation, he said, you know what, I'm going
- 27:04to stay pure. I'm going to keep my body pure.
- 27:07And you know, I maybe I'm off in left field by when it uses the
- 27:10words put off and put on. That's what that's what I had to
- 27:13think of like it's an intentional act.
- 27:15It's something that we got to consider maybe on that verse 10
- 27:25and there we go and it says and have put on the new man, which
- 27:28is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created
- 27:32him. And the only thing that I want
- 27:35to point out before I would let Andrew go on this is that this
- 27:39is not the sentence like to really get this, I really should
- 27:43be reading verse 910 and 11 together.
- 27:45But I I want you to go ahead and and comment on this.
- 27:49And we have put on the new band, which is renewed in the
- 27:51knowledge after the image of him that create.
- 27:53I think this is an interesting verse and a key verse to our
- 27:56success in walking, you know, separate from sin.
- 28:03Yeah, this, this is where I always like to point out the
- 28:07fact that we should do a search on mind, read everywhere where
- 28:14the Bible uses the word mind, what to mind so that when it
- 28:19talks about what we need to mind and reckon and and what the
- 28:23truth is. And that is knowing these things
- 28:25and spiritual understanding and wisdom is what is going to
- 28:30prepare us for the life that we are living.
- 28:33When we go up, like Leon was saying in the morning, when we
- 28:35get up, the way we're thinking the what what is on our mind and
- 28:41how we prepare ourselves emotionally and mentally.
- 28:46It's probably it's could determine how your day is going
- 28:49to go in a lot of ways. You're not just out there
- 28:52necessarily winging it. You're already prepared and
- 28:55aware that temptations out there and you've already kind of
- 28:59conditioned your mind that you're not going to fall for it,
- 29:02that you're going to be spiritual minded.
- 29:04You're going to be dressed up with that new man and that my
- 29:09mentality and mindset that you're free from sin, that
- 29:11you're you're a new man, you're a new creature and you're going
- 29:14to walk in that light today. And if you're oblivious to it
- 29:18and you just start feeding your brain with darkness and watching
- 29:21Youtubes and till it gets more and more corrupt, it normally
- 29:25does. The more you watch.
- 29:26All of a sudden it's just darker and darker and darker and all of
- 29:28a sudden you're like, wait, wait, wait, what am I watching?
- 29:31You know, it's just letting that mind, letting it, letting that
- 29:34mind getting corrupted and carried away.
- 29:39And I, I really think it's important to remember, like he
- 29:43said, put on the new man, put him on.
- 29:46He said, actually, no, he says you have put him on.
- 29:49And so it's interesting to me that a lot of religious people
- 29:54and and people that are still really fantasize about the laws
- 29:58of God and the law and the commandments, how that at the
- 30:04end of the day, that's still their excuse.
- 30:07Like, Oh, I'm, it's the old man. Did the flesh make me do it?
- 30:11You know, we're just these sinners and saved by grace.
- 30:15Hallelujah. And then the other ones is like,
- 30:18they love to keep the commandments and somehow, you
- 30:22know, God made these commandments.
- 30:23Well, this is far beyond commandments here.
- 30:27He's point putting his finger on our heart and our emotion.
- 30:30He's trying to get us emotionally stable within, like
- 30:35something that no law or letter in any way possible could do.
- 30:38He's getting into our mind, our thoughts, and our emotions.
- 30:42And I'm telling you why. When people tap into that, it is
- 30:45fun to be around them. They choose to be happy.
- 30:48They choose to be thankful. They choose to be positive and
- 30:52they built you up. They're encouraging on the alum
- 30:55minded person is always just kind of negative.
- 30:57Well, yeah, more of that. And the people would just get
- 31:00their act together and like they're the trash is laying
- 31:02around there. The kits these days they're just
- 31:04a bunch of you know what? The other day I had a guy say
- 31:08he's a youth pastor of all things.
- 31:10He's like talk about kids. He's like, you know, sometimes I
- 31:13can't tell the difference between the tools and the tool
- 31:15shed and my kids, you know, like, you really think that kids
- 31:19are going to do well with that attitude.
- 31:21You know, it's like, like, oh, my goodness.
- 31:25But then I'm sure that person would not like the idea that
- 31:28we're crucified, that the flesh is gone, that we are redeemed,
- 31:31you know, So that's where it's at right here.
- 31:35You love the law. Well, this would put the law to
- 31:39shame. This would produce a children of
- 31:43light that no law or letter can ever produce 'cause it goes
- 31:46directly to your emotions and feelings and it's telling you to
- 31:49take a grip, get a hold of it. You can.
- 31:52Jesus has made you new. You are a new creature.
- 31:55Old things are passed away. You have the ability and the
- 31:57authority and the right to be happy, cheerful and free and
- 32:02create a positive atmosphere. You're not deceptive, you're not
- 32:05lying to another, you're not out of control, angry.
- 32:07You're a lot of fun to be around and a lot of light, and
- 32:10everybody that's around you wants to be like that.
- 32:15Amen. That's good stuff, Melvin.
- 32:18Yeah, I like what he says here that he says he gives us the
- 32:24remedy. You would say like in other
- 32:25words, he doesn't say. He doesn't just leave it where
- 32:29he says you have your old man has been put to death.
- 32:32He says you have put on the new man.
- 32:36In other words, you have received a new creation.
- 32:39You're a new creation. You're a new creature.
- 32:42You're a new man. And, and that's, I think so many
- 32:46times we focus on, you know what, we shouldn't be doing this
- 32:50or I shouldn't be doing that or, or I need to be doing this or
- 32:53need to be doing that or, or Christian doesn't do this or
- 32:56Christian needs to do that or whatever.
- 32:58And you shouldn't be focusing on that, but you should just be
- 33:01understanding that, that we are a new creature and, and, and
- 33:06that gives us the power to be able to do what is right or
- 33:12speak life and, and all those kinds of things.
- 33:16Understanding that that I have, I am actually a new man.
- 33:21Like God doesn't just leave our old man dead.
- 33:24He has given us a new life and a new man.
- 33:27And it's, it's full of life, right?
- 33:29So I, I just like that. And it's just so powerful, I
- 33:36think, to understand that and to be able to walk in that and, and
- 33:41put our faith in, in a God that doesn't just leave us hanging,
- 33:45but he gives us, he gives us a new life.
- 33:49And yeah. Yeah, I this is really a big
- 33:55part of my testimony when I got saved and was delivered from
- 34:01sin. And you know, it says I, I love
- 34:05and this is important I think is it says that you have so it's
- 34:10past tense. It happened prior to this put on
- 34:13the old man and it says you have past tense.
- 34:19Hold on the new man. Imagine how we would live if
- 34:23that were not past tense that what if it would say and you can
- 34:29put on the new man. You know, while you were talking
- 34:33Melvin earlier about, you know, sitting and all the, you know,
- 34:37the old man rose up again, you know, or whatever you, we hear
- 34:40that in the world all the time. And that is not true.
- 34:44If if you send it the new one doing it the, and the old one is
- 34:49dead and gone. You, you don't have the ability
- 34:51to resurrect that old man. That one is dead and gone is
- 34:54completely out of the way. And this new this new one.
- 34:58And I don't, I don't know what you think.
- 35:00Can it be defiled? But I, I see a lot of a lot of
- 35:04Christians, maybe over the years.
- 35:06I've seen them come, you know, they, they really found
- 35:08something and, and then they cool off or whatever and it
- 35:15almost like they, they can't find the victory that they once
- 35:18had. And I, I don't know exactly what
- 35:20happens there. I probably a lot of stuff.
- 35:22I, I know it's, it's probably a combination of a lot of stuff.
- 35:25But the, the victory really is though, is that this new man?
- 35:30So if I, if I feel tempted, I could, I could literally say it
- 35:33out loud, just be like, Nope, but that old man that did that
- 35:37kind of stuff, he's dead and gone.
- 35:38I'm a new creation modeled after godliness, you know, after
- 35:44Christ himself. You know, this is this is a
- 35:47thing. Cameron said that again,
- 35:51addressing these issues with our humanity is difficult.
- 35:53And I agree with you. It is because we're not always
- 35:57100% successful. That is why we are to close
- 35:59ourselves with the spiritual supposition of the position that
- 36:03God clearly says that we have in Christ.
- 36:06We are assenting to something supernatural and that of God.
- 36:10That approach loads me up with enough joy at Thanksgiving to
- 36:13tackle these things. Praise the Lord.
- 36:15That's right. And it is supernatural and
- 36:18that's not just a fancy word. It is natural super like it's
- 36:24above the natural ability. You know, when something is,
- 36:29That's what the word literally means, is to be above, you know,
- 36:32whatever. And so, yeah, that's, that's how
- 36:35it is. But I, I love that.
- 36:37I think that's verse 9 to 10. That's key stuff right there. 11
- 36:43where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor
- 36:47uncircumcision, barbarian, Cynthian bond nor free, but
- 36:51Christ in all. Christ is all and in all
- 36:57there's. Yeah, Andrew, Yeah.
- 37:02I am not convinced yet. I know my Pearl teaches the same
- 37:05thing, that if you sentence the new man, I don't believe that
- 37:10just simply because I believe that we're saved by faith.
- 37:15I believe that in the in the heavenly reality, we are
- 37:18redeemed, we're free from the flesh.
- 37:21But in this life it's up to us based on our faith of whether we
- 37:26will acknowledge and walk after the flesh and reckon it that.
- 37:31But we have the capacity and not reckon it dead and walk after
- 37:34it. And if you walk after it you
- 37:36will fulfill it, which is sin. Otherwise in Romans 8, I don't
- 37:41think he would say that to to be carnal minded is death, but to
- 37:44be spiritual minded is life. So you got those two options to
- 37:47walk after. He says if you walk after the
- 37:50flesh you will die. And then he says the fruits of
- 37:54the flesh is this, and the body of sin where the flesh dwell,
- 37:59where the sin dwell is the body of flesh.
- 38:02So I don't think sin can dwell in a spiritual body.
- 38:05I don't think it can dwell because the the thing that
- 38:08destroyed had to be destroyed in order to destroy sin was the
- 38:12body of sinful flesh, and that was destroyed by faith.
- 38:18And I think we can now still walk after the flesh.
- 38:21And when we do that and do sin is because we we walked after
- 38:27the old man and the flesh because you wouldn't tell us to
- 38:30walk put on the new man and to walk in it.
- 38:33Well, he says we have put on a new man, but he wouldn't have to
- 38:36tell us who recognized the old man is crucified if it was a
- 38:42reality in our experience. It's a faith challenge.
- 38:46He's asking us to believe something that God did to us and
- 38:50to walk in that while in the heavenly places those blessings
- 38:54are there, but in this life we're still challenged to
- 38:58believe and walk against the flesh that we're in.
- 39:03That's my belief. And you can, if you got a good
- 39:06verse to wipe it out, I'd love to hear it.
- 39:11No, no, that's, that's interesting.
- 39:13I never, never heard it that way.
- 39:15As far as like Romans 6-7 or or Romans 8, you know, verses 6-7
- 39:21where it says to be carnally minded or to be spiritually
- 39:23minded. I don't think that you can go
- 39:25back and forth. I think you're either one or the
- 39:27other. You're either a new creation
- 39:29which is spiritually minded or you are the old man which is
- 39:32carnally minded. Well, read a little.
- 39:34Bit further read a little bit in the beginning there.
- 39:37If you walk after the flesh, you got this you what did you walk
- 39:41after? The Spirit is this so you can
- 39:44either walk after the one or the other.
- 39:45That's my belief. So, yeah, so.
- 39:48So you're saying like the flesh would be the old man?
- 39:51Is that what you're saying? Or when you walk out.
- 39:55Yeah, you can either. So when you my in my mind, if
- 40:01I'm sinning, I'm not believing that I'm crucified.
- 40:04It's I'm in unbelief and I'm or I'm not recognizing the truth.
- 40:09I'm not being reminded. Of the thing that God did to me
- 40:122000 years ago. And therefore I'm not benefiting
- 40:14from that at that moment. So I'm yielding, I'm turning,
- 40:18I'm obeying, I'm I'm following through with that unbelief and
- 40:22recognizing my flesh and walking after it.
- 40:25Or I can walk after the spirits and this might and remember my
- 40:29spiritual reality that in Christ Jesus, I'm free from that flesh
- 40:33and I don't have to obey it. What I got these two options.
- 40:37I can either obey the flesh or obey the spirit, and if I walk
- 40:41after the flesh, I die. If I walk after the spirit, I
- 40:43have light. But that's.
- 40:46All that's all. So I don't know.
- 40:49I'm going to have to think about that one.
- 40:50Yeah, yeah, me too. So.
- 40:52So you're saying that the blue bag give you some?
- 40:54Pushback, but I don't have a good verse to push back down.
- 40:57Why? Yeah.
- 40:59Well, yeah, why would he be? Challenging us?
- 41:02Why would he be challenging us if the other option wasn't
- 41:05there? Well, the only.
- 41:07Thing that kind of struggles in my brain is is this is that you
- 41:11know that. So it sounds to me like you're
- 41:13saying you're going from the old man to the new man, Not or or, I
- 41:16don't know, Remember, it's a. Remember, it's a faith
- 41:19challenge. We're believing in something
- 41:21that is not exactly our reality. Yeah.
- 41:24So that would be, to me, it would be like Abraham going
- 41:30through Hagar. You know, he had that option and
- 41:35he took it well. He walked after the flesh at
- 41:37that moment, sure, you know, and make the consequences for it.
- 41:44He wouldn't. He wouldn't be this great father
- 41:47of faith. He didn't have a challenge to
- 41:48walk, Not in faith, you know, Sure.
- 41:54Yeah, yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't agree with that
- 41:57necessarily, but that's fine. I'm I'm not, it's, it's a good
- 42:01discussion. Well, here's the thing that
- 42:03here's the thing that bothers me.
- 42:04Two things really with with what you're saying. 1 is that you're
- 42:08saying that our new the new creation is a spiritual
- 42:11creation. No, it's our reality in heaven,
- 42:14in heavenly places, I'm fully redeemed.
- 42:18I am seated in heavenly places. I am sanctified.
- 42:20I'm I am dressed in the new man. I have put on the new man, but
- 42:25that's a promise, and I can walk after that in this life right
- 42:31now, he recognizes in Romans that we're still in the flesh.
- 42:35Right after or before he said that we're.
- 42:37Yeah, no. Definitely.
- 42:38And he's like you. Can either walk after it or not.
- 42:41So we got that option. You can either renew your mind
- 42:44after the things of this world. Like look at all the challenges
- 42:47we just went through of the things that we can.
- 42:49Either it's like don't don't be angry, don't walk after that you
- 42:54have it says mortify there for your members.
- 42:56Why if they're already mortified like.
- 43:01Right, that one thing that comes to comes to faith.
- 43:04Remember, it's a faith challenge.
- 43:06He mortified them on the cross. And now he's asking us that are
- 43:10still in the body of flesh to believe it and walk in that
- 43:14outside of our reality. And it's kind of like I got to
- 43:18I'm I'm going to walk in it. But the challenge is, is to walk
- 43:21after the flesh. And he's telling us the
- 43:24authority that we have to not do it is the fact that in the
- 43:28heavenly places it's in in God's economy, it's already the
- 43:32reality that we are free. And in this life, you can walk
- 43:37after that freedom or you can walk after darkness.
- 43:44Yeah, the. Only the only thing that I'm
- 43:46going to say it right now, I'm I'm going to study some on it.
- 43:49Andrea, I would like to this weekend sit down and talk some
- 43:52more about this. But one.
- 43:54Thing that this is kind of the way I have seen it kind of like
- 43:58how Lean sees it that so the new man in my brain, the new man is
- 44:03is our new creation and and gives us power.
- 44:06We have the spirit in us now and gives us the power over our
- 44:09flesh and temptation where the old man, we didn't have that
- 44:15right. So the old man is buried.
- 44:17He's dead. And now we're walking in the new
- 44:19man. And, and when we do walk in the
- 44:22flesh or choose to walk in the flesh, I'm doing no, the flesh
- 44:26is not there. So the flesh you're saying is
- 44:30dead? You just said, yeah, you just
- 44:33said the old man is gone, so how can you walk after a flesh?
- 44:37The new man is not flesh, it's spirit.
- 44:40There is no flesh. So you have to say that the
- 44:43spiritual body, where I didn't know that the spiritual body can
- 44:47have sin like a spiritual man without flesh has sin.
- 44:51Because remember when he said that the body of sin in the
- 44:55flesh was destroyed? We were circumcised, but a
- 44:59fleshly part was circumcised and we we were In First Corinthians
- 45:0415, he says we were sown a natural man raised a spiritual
- 45:08man. We were sowing in dishonor.
- 45:11We were raising glory. We were, we were sown a natural
- 45:14body and now we're raised a spiritual body.
- 45:17So and he's telling us that's where the sin and death was
- 45:20destroyed by putting off that physical thing.
- 45:24And now we're challenged to believe it.
- 45:26And you can either believe it and walk in righteousness or let
- 45:32unbelief and darkness and deception, deceitfulness of sin
- 45:37darken your mind or cloud your mind to where you go after the
- 45:40flesh or you can walk after the spirit.
- 45:45I don't think the I don't think Jesus Christ me and him being
- 45:51one in the finished work of Christ is going to associate
- 45:55itself with sin. I think when we sin, it's we're
- 45:59we're we're going after the we're not believing in the
- 46:03redemption that's already there. Otherwise we would sin is
- 46:08defiling. So it would bring darkness to
- 46:10the new man. And I don't, I don't think that
- 46:12can be because then we're no longer or we're not redeemed,
- 46:15then I think we're completely redeemed.
- 46:17We're completely washed clean in Jesus Christ.
- 46:20We are ready to be revealed. We're unbelievable, unreprovable
- 46:23in this site. And if you we don't walk in
- 46:28that, if you don't believe it and walk in it, then we're in
- 46:32unbelief and we're listening to the world in darkness.
- 46:36So that verse like in first John where it say I was trying to
- 46:39find it quick but I and can't find it, it says it says that
- 46:43when ye are in God or in Christ ye cannot sin sin.
- 46:48Yeah. So what you're saying is that is
- 46:51like, like our spiritual new man is what cannot it's our?
- 46:55Heavenly reality, it's all the things that we've been saying we
- 47:00are redeemed. That's our heavenly reality.
- 47:02Our earthly reality is that we need to recognize this flesh is
- 47:05dead, which how would you recognize that it's dead if it
- 47:08was actually physically dead? So the challenge is to believe
- 47:14that it's dead to line up with our heavenly reality.
- 47:18Yeah, sure, I get that. Yeah, 100 and if.
- 47:20You walk in sin, and it's because you're walking after the
- 47:25earthly, carnal, fleshly, sinful, dark reality, and you're
- 47:30not walking after your heavenly reality, which is.
- 47:33The old, old man in your mind, So who sins?
- 47:35When you're you as a believer sins, Who sinned?
- 47:38Who's the sin held against? Me but it I've been crucified,
- 47:48I've been redeemed, so I'm covered.
- 47:49All my sins are colored as present and future.
- 47:52It's just I walked in unbelief and I sinned.
- 47:59If you're going to say that the new man is sin, then did Jesus
- 48:04Christ die for the new man too? I see.
- 48:09What? Yeah.
- 48:09Yeah. So then he would have to be
- 48:11crucified as well as what you're saying the new.
- 48:14Man would have to also be circumcised again then I see.
- 48:17What you're saying? Yeah.
- 48:20I'm about. To think about thou, yeah, I'll
- 48:22have. I'll have to because like the
- 48:24way that I read Romans chapter 8 verse 9 where it says but ye are
- 48:28not in the flesh but in the Spirit.
- 48:30If so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.
- 48:33Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is not of
- 48:36his, you know. So if the Spirit of God lives in
- 48:40you, then you are not in the flesh.
- 48:45Absolutely. Right.
- 48:47I mean. That's that's that's but if you
- 48:50read a little. Bit further, he tells us to not
- 48:52walk after the flesh again. It's our heavenly reality is
- 49:04that we're not in the flesh. I know that I am redeemed, I am
- 49:08crucified, I'm a spiritual body, but in this life right now, I'm
- 49:13not in this. My earthly reality is just not
- 49:17the same what I can live according to my heavenly reality
- 49:22as I believe it, the more I believe it and walk in it.
- 49:25If I put on that armor, if I put on that mindset, if I think of
- 49:30on those things, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever
- 49:32things are on us. If I have this knowledge,
- 49:35remember he says what we just read that verse where it says in
- 49:42verse 10 and have put on the new man, which is renewed in
- 49:46knowledge after the image of him that created him.
- 49:50It's renewed in knowledge after the image.
- 49:53So when we are not renewed in knowledge, we tend to practice
- 49:57the old like we're not renewed in that and then we don't walk
- 50:00in that. Yeah, that's, it's a good
- 50:06discussion. I I'm going to have to do a
- 50:07little bit of gear shifting on that one.
- 50:10Maybe we had our first disagreement, huh?
- 50:12Oh yeah. No, no, not really not.
- 50:14Necessarily it just. There was a couple other things,
- 50:17but yeah, I know that's I I love it.
- 50:19I love this kind of this is this is good discussion in my my
- 50:22opinion. I want to read what Cameron read
- 50:26or wrote. Trying to see it.
- 50:29Yeah. Walking after the flesh as a
- 50:31believer is walking after the law of sin that is in our
- 50:33members. Yeah.
- 50:34Yeah. There is a pattern of defilement
- 50:37in our muscle memory, in our hearts and our minds.
- 50:39Yep. I agree with that.
- 50:40God comes in taking up residence in our mortal body.
- 50:44He hangs with us, He lives in us.
- 50:46He convicts us and leads us. We can obey the new law of
- 50:50liberty of the Spirit of life in Christ or not.
- 50:56That's what you're saying, Andrew, right?
- 50:57Pretty much. Like, yeah, yeah, I don't find
- 51:02one verse where Jesus died for the new man or that somehow the
- 51:08new man's sins are covered. The new man, according to my
- 51:12understanding from what I read, is pure and righteous.
- 51:15It's yeah. No.
- 51:16I would agree with that. It's ready to be revealed.
- 51:19So if you're going to say the new man is sinning when we sin,
- 51:21then that's an awful new name sometimes.
- 51:27Yeah. Yeah.
- 51:28I. Did I was just in my brain?
- 51:30I have a hard time the the idea of going back to your old man or
- 51:34whatever, like if he's crucified.
- 51:36But I see what you're saying. It's it's our.
- 51:38I forget. It's a belief.
- 51:40It's a belief challenge belief. Challenge.
- 51:42Yeah, I see what you're saying. Just like Abraham, he was
- 51:45challenged to believe that he's a father of a great nation while
- 51:50he had no children. So his reality was different
- 51:52from what God's reality was. Yeah.
- 51:55And he went up and ran with Hagar.
- 51:57Well, God uses that story to tell us that to not do that, to
- 52:01not walk after your own flesh. Like, don't try to bring about
- 52:05it with your own works. Look at what that brought.
- 52:07I mean, we just supposedly ended a war with Ishmael again, like,
- 52:16so that was a bad, bad deal. And so, yeah, let's walk after
- 52:22the knee man. Yeah.
- 52:26Amen. Yeah, so I read verse 11, but we
- 52:30never actually got on. Yeah.
- 52:33Oh, sorry. Is that what we were supposed to
- 52:35talk about or I don't? Well, no.
- 52:37That's good. Like I said, I my.
- 52:39God sidetracked with your idea that the new man is singing.
- 52:42Yeah, no. You did.
- 52:43Andrew went off the tracks. Man.
- 52:47No, I. Think we went maybe back on the
- 52:49tracks? No, that's no.
- 52:51I'm just saying his brain went. A lot of people.
- 52:56A lot of people think that a, that a disagreement is
- 52:59unhealthy. I think it's the healthiest way
- 53:00to figure something out is to talk about it.
- 53:03You know, when someone gets offended, that's when it becomes
- 53:06kind of, yeah, but a good discussion.
- 53:09I'm definitely, I'm definitely not offended in any way.
- 53:11I I just have never been. I know I've heard Mike teach it
- 53:15very authoritatively and other people that you know, you are a
- 53:19new man. Well, I guess that's a big leap
- 53:22of faith. I don't.
- 53:23Maybe I'm not faith. I have that much faith.
- 53:26But then my question is then what happens with the sin that
- 53:30Christ died for the sin of the new man too then?
- 53:33But any rates? We kind of hashed that out
- 53:36already, but parts verse 11 where there's neither Jew nor
- 53:39Greek circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian,
- 53:42Sithian, bond or free, but Christ is All in all.
- 53:46So he brought us a full victory. He put us on, He dressed us up
- 53:49in his own righteousness, in his robe of righteousness in
- 53:52Revelations, when we're going to be revealed and when we're going
- 53:55to come out, we're going to come out dressed in the robe of
- 53:57righteousness, white robe. And so that's our heavenly
- 54:01reality. And Christ is All in all.
- 54:06He, he, he, we're circumcised based on his circumcision.
- 54:10So we're no longer putting off the old flesh by physically
- 54:14cutting, circumcising ourselves. We're we're no longer in
- 54:21redeemed based on our genealogies, whether we are a
- 54:24Jew or not. Like we don't have to be an
- 54:26Israelite to be a child of God. All that's done away,
- 54:30everything, all things that we need.
- 54:32We're completely complete in Christ Jesus and he is All in
- 54:36all. And he's telling us to walk like
- 54:38it, act like it, and stop walking after the flesh and
- 54:42darkness. Yep.
- 54:44Amen. Doesn't matter who you are.
- 54:46Doesn't matter who you are. Yeah.
- 54:48I that's what I like about it too.
- 54:51He's just he's in Christ. He's just making a simple point
- 54:55that in Christ we're All in all. It doesn't matter whether we are
- 55:01a, a slave. It says bond nor free says
- 55:04whether we're a slave or servant or or whether we're the master
- 55:09or it doesn't really matter in Christ, he his come, his
- 55:14completeness and his our victory in him over the flesh that we
- 55:20were talking about is the same for all.
- 55:22It doesn't matter who we are. I like in in revelations, I
- 55:27think it's 19 or 20 where it says where, where Jesus comes
- 55:30back on his great White Horse and it says that and the armies
- 55:33are with him riding on white horses.
- 55:36And that's going to be that's the Saints riding back with him
- 55:40on his great White Horse and wait on their horses.
- 55:44And that's going to be all of us.
- 55:46I mean, it doesn't matter where we're from or what color we are
- 55:49or whatever. So it that is so comforting, you
- 55:54would say, because a lot of religion and and all these other
- 55:59religions in the world, you know, and say, well, you need to
- 56:03be like this or you need to become like this, or you need to
- 56:05do this or, or whatever it is or, or dressed like this or
- 56:10whatever it is. And there's a lot of different
- 56:12things. But it that's in Christ.
- 56:15It's we are, he is our all and we are in he is in all of us is
- 56:22how he said, we saying, and that's just so beautiful.
- 56:26And that's what makes Christ so complete.
- 56:29And and he making him the Alderman high priest.
- 56:34Yeah, for sure. Yeah, that's right.
- 56:39And the best part of it is like, you know, Jew and Gentile,
- 56:42there's there's no difference. Male, female, you know, whatever
- 56:46there's yeah, it's there for everybody.
- 56:49Bond or free? Yeah, Yeah, that's right.
- 56:53You know, I think we're just going to quit there.
- 56:55I because it kind of goes into another kind of longer sentence
- 57:00there that I I just rather not pick apart.
- 57:02Probably we're that close. We'll just leave it leave it go.
- 57:06I I know for myself, I got a little I'm going to do have a
- 57:10little study here coming up about this whole thing.
- 57:16This is this is good. I love it.
- 57:19So anyway, hey that. That's what I like.
- 57:22That's what I like about getting together with, with brothers
- 57:26that, you know, when we maybe don't all think the same or we,
- 57:30something comes out where, you know, I might think differently
- 57:34about something than someone else.
- 57:36And, and that's OK. I, I like it took me a long time
- 57:39to learn that actually, because I'm kind of a peacemaker.
- 57:44Like I, I like when things are peaceful.
- 57:46I don't like a lot of conflict, but this is not really conflict.
- 57:49It's just it, it's not that we disagree that we get upset or
- 57:55anything. It when you can sit down and
- 57:58just be able to, to say, I just was talking with, with this with
- 58:02my wife the other day. And I think what happens when we
- 58:06are when people argue, whether it's with your spouse or whether
- 58:10two brothers or whatever it is in the church or whoever.
- 58:13When you argue is when you are interrupting each other and
- 58:17you're getting upset and you're just and, and and you're trying
- 58:21to interrupt and trying to say your thing and not letting the
- 58:24other person talk. Why can't we just let the person
- 58:27say his, what he wants to say, let him say it, let him do it
- 58:32then now I'll say what I want it.
- 58:34You know what I think about it. And then we just talk about it
- 58:37in a, in a peaceful manner. And and that's so that's
- 58:40sharpening each other. That's the that's awesome.
- 58:43I love that. Yeah, I'm no way, said I I'd be
- 58:46very happy to be have my mind changed on it.
- 58:49I just haven't personally gotten enough evidence where I would
- 58:54say that's the case. Yeah.
- 58:57And it's a new thought to me, so I'm going to study that song and
- 59:02we'll talk about it some more. Yeah.
- 59:05Coming up, you know, that's that's what I think that's what
- 59:07made Charlie Kirk so great. He was able to to have discourse
- 59:11with people, you know, in the most intense situations and just
- 59:16and still just and and I liked it.
- 59:18I like listen to it because it was often informative to me
- 59:22because he was saying this side, the argument was from the other
- 59:25side. And you could then you could,
- 59:27you could see both sides of the argument and draw your own
- 59:29conclusion based on what what they were saying this stuff.
- 59:32So that's. This is not.
- 59:33A salvation issue or anything. I I've, no, I, I, I don't even
- 59:37bring it up like it's well, I did now, but it's just I, I
- 59:47wouldn't look at you guys any different for believing that at
- 59:50all. Like I, I just personally
- 59:53believe that our heaven reality is different from our earthly
- 59:55reality and we're challenged to believe our heavenly.
- 59:58And if we believe our heavenly reality, we will act according
- 1:00:01to our heavenly more or if we can walk after the earthly and
- 1:00:05perish and die. Yep.
- 1:00:07It's a it's a reckoning issue about that's.
- 1:00:11My view, yeah. I agree with you 100%.
- 1:00:14I want to read you at what cover?
- 1:00:15We'll close with this further discussion.
- 1:00:17We will come to the new creature, the body of Christ.
- 1:00:21Some people can't fully grasp this thing.
- 1:00:22Some folks think the individual believer is a new creature.
- 1:00:26Again, not accurate, depending on context.
- 1:00:28Here. There's a huge thing happening
- 1:00:30in Christ. Fellowship of the mystery, Huge,
- 1:00:32awesome operation is what will come of it, and that is awesome.
- 1:00:36So, yeah. All right.
