Transcript
- 0:02My question is, if you ruptured your ACL,
- 0:06would you go seventy miles an hour on
- 0:08two sticks?
- 0:09Let's talk about that.
- 0:22I love the chase and the hunt,
- 0:23and I set the pace when I'm running.
- 0:25I always take what I'm wanting,
- 0:26I always give it one hundred.
- 0:28Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.
- 0:29Play the game like it's nothing.
- 0:31I'm always thankful for something.
- 0:32Don't take for granted, stay humble.
- 0:34Now wake up!
- 0:35It's time to look at the enemy.
- 0:37Look in the mirror if he is no
- 0:39friend to me.
- 0:40It's not working out,
- 0:42maybe it's the chemistry.
- 0:43It's time to break up so I can
- 0:45make a better me.
- 0:46D-E-M-M-W!
- 0:51It's lunch time.
- 0:53What is going on, everybody?
- 0:54Welcome to Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:56Man,
- 0:57I haven't seen some of these people in
- 0:58a little, in some time, man.
- 1:00We've got Ken Walters doing some ribeyes.
- 1:03We've got Mike DeVito in the chat.
- 1:04We've got Jason Bourne.
- 1:06Hey, you never know where that man is.
- 1:09He could be on a mission at any
- 1:10given time.
- 1:11Dear God, that's Jason Bourne.
- 1:13It's one of my favorite,
- 1:13it's one of my favorite things of all
- 1:17time.
- 1:18And as Trent Olive always says.
- 1:23What's going on?
- 1:25We've got Terry.
- 1:27We've got Frida.
- 1:28We've got Jenny.
- 1:30Man.
- 1:31All the people.
- 1:34Love it.
- 1:35Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne.
- 1:38Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne.
- 1:42It's one of my favorite GIFs.
- 1:44Every time I see somebody doing something
- 1:46absolutely ridiculous,
- 1:47that's usually my go-to.
- 1:49Jesus Christ, that's Jason Bourne.
- 1:52We're going to get into some stuff today
- 1:53before we get into too much.
- 1:55Um,
- 1:56spectator tickets for syndicate crown go
- 1:58on sale this Friday at noon Eastern time.
- 2:03Uh, so back in Knoxville again, love,
- 2:07love Wilson Park, man.
- 2:09If you,
- 2:10he puts on a great event and he
- 2:12does everything he can to make it the
- 2:13best experience for everybody.
- 2:15They usually have stuff like outside the
- 2:16arena,
- 2:17inside the arena stuff to do for the
- 2:19whole family.
- 2:21Um,
- 2:22I have said over and over again that
- 2:23semifinals are my favorite time of the
- 2:25year to go see an event.
- 2:27It's more intimate.
- 2:28You get to see more people.
- 2:29You get to sit and have conversations.
- 2:32The athletes are more accessible.
- 2:34It's the best time to go watch an
- 2:36event.
- 2:37So those tickets are available this Friday
- 2:40at noon Eastern time.
- 2:42Get them while they're hot.
- 2:45Um,
- 2:46so you broke some news to me in
- 2:49your personal life,
- 2:50your personal competitive life.
- 2:53All right.
- 2:54Moving on the air.
- 2:55You are actually heading on the road.
- 2:58Yeah.
- 2:58Next Friday I'll be flying to, uh,
- 3:01South Carolina to attend or not just
- 3:03attend to compete at fitness of the coast,
- 3:06um, on a team because,
- 3:09so we always talk about how awesome the
- 3:10masters community is, right?
- 3:14We're probably the biggest proponents of
- 3:15them outside the actual Masters podcast
- 3:18that happened.
- 3:19I met a dude my first year at
- 3:21Legends.
- 3:22His name's Dwayne.
- 3:23He was in my age group.
- 3:25Awesome dude.
- 3:26We hit it off, hung out,
- 3:28bullshitted all weekend.
- 3:30and been trying to get together and do
- 3:32a competition together basically since
- 3:35then and just haven't been able to link
- 3:37up.
- 3:37Well, he hit me up Monday morning,
- 3:40noonish, whatever it was,
- 3:42because he apparently tore his bicep at
- 3:43TFX over the weekend,
- 3:45which I do not recommend.
- 3:47TFX, yes.
- 3:48Tearing your bicep, not so much.
- 3:52And wanted to see if I could take
- 3:53his place on a team at Fitness to
- 3:56the Coast.
- 3:58And this is how good of a dude
- 4:00this dude is.
- 4:01He's like, just get there.
- 4:03He said,
- 4:04my wife still wants to go because their
- 4:07son and stepdaughter like live in the
- 4:10area.
- 4:10So I'm going to go visit them.
- 4:12He said, take my ticket,
- 4:14go on my team, you know, partner up.
- 4:18It's co-ed.
- 4:19So I'm going in.
- 4:21Master's, thirty-five, thirty-nine.
- 4:23Yay.
- 4:23FYI,
- 4:24I'll be forty-nine in a month and a
- 4:26half, two months, whatever it is.
- 4:28But you look...
- 4:30I feel seventeen if you really want to
- 4:32know the truth about it.
- 4:33So my wife would say I act twelve
- 4:35if you really want to get down to
- 4:38brass tacks.
- 4:40But anyway,
- 4:40they have already got an Airbnb.
- 4:44He says it's three bedroom.
- 4:46Come on.
- 4:47He said, just get here.
- 4:49He said, you'll be doing me a favor.
- 4:50And I was like,
- 4:51this is a golden opportunity.
- 4:53I've wanted to do fitness at the coast.
- 4:54I missed that.
- 4:57Thanks, Mike.
- 4:59Mike says,
- 5:00don't look a day over forty eight.
- 5:03I've been wanting to do fitness to the
- 5:05coast and just have it, you know,
- 5:07sign up for the qualifiers for whatever
- 5:08reason.
- 5:09They're usually they happen usually right
- 5:10when I'm training for legends and whatever
- 5:13else.
- 5:14So I haven't had an opportunity to and
- 5:16this kind of fell in my lap.
- 5:18So, yeah,
- 5:19I'm going over there competing with
- 5:22Anastasia Alexander as my teammate.
- 5:25And we're going to be on the floor
- 5:28Saturday and Sunday.
- 5:29cool hopefully they stream it again this
- 5:31year we can get uh some peeks at
- 5:34you ortega is going to be there i'll
- 5:36see you there take them uh larry mentally
- 5:41i'm twenty but i move like i'm ninety
- 5:43this dude again larry stop talking about
- 5:46my friends like that it's not me
- 5:51Uh, Sten says physical age, not mental.
- 5:53Um, and Lito, I feel at seventeen too,
- 5:56but my joints say otherwise.
- 5:57See, I would,
- 6:00when I met Lito last year at the
- 6:01Masters Games,
- 6:02I would not have said she was a
- 6:04Masters athlete.
- 6:05If I would have just walked up to
- 6:06her on the street,
- 6:07no way would I have said she's a
- 6:09Masters athlete.
- 6:11No, I can believe that.
- 6:12Just from seeing her videos and the
- 6:14content that she posts and whatnot,
- 6:15the shock of red hair, first of all,
- 6:18is probably your first indication that
- 6:20there's no possible way this chick's a
- 6:21Masters athlete.
- 6:23But then in everything I've seen,
- 6:25she does not come across as being,
- 6:28and don't take this the wrong way, Alito,
- 6:31as being as old as she is.
- 6:33The other thing it shows is like CrossFit
- 6:35is the age-defying drug.
- 6:37It's amazing how it works.
- 6:39Isn't it?
- 6:39Like you get healthy and you do all
- 6:41the things you're supposed to do and you
- 6:43look younger than you are.
- 6:45look it feel it move like it i
- 6:48tell people all the time i told my
- 6:49class this morning um as we were warming
- 6:52up i was we had a brand new
- 6:54girl who is three weeks in and like
- 6:59we do air squats if you're in my
- 7:00warm-up you're doing air squats at some
- 7:01point and i said if you want to
- 7:03get a solid flex on somebody at the
- 7:05grocery store and you got to get something
- 7:06off the bottom shelf drop into a squat
- 7:09And just sit there for a second because
- 7:11people will look at you like you are
- 7:13an exotic animal that they have never seen
- 7:15before.
- 7:16They don't understand how you can do it.
- 7:17Only babies can do that.
- 7:19No, it's not how it works.
- 7:22CrossFit is the fountain of youth.
- 7:24And Vicky says, Lito,
- 7:25you are one of my goals, girl.
- 7:29Lito's fit, man.
- 7:30Really fit.
- 7:32Come on, Shannon.
- 7:33Shannon does not look her age.
- 7:37I was told I look like someone's grandma
- 7:39on the floor by a photographer.
- 7:42Yeah.
- 7:42And then you did things that no,
- 7:43but none of them could actually do.
- 7:45Correct.
- 7:47Correct.
- 7:50Says former CrossFit Games champion
- 7:51Shannon Bones.
- 7:57Mike DeVito,
- 7:57I show grocery store dominance by going
- 7:59into the fifteen items or less,
- 8:01like with thirty items.
- 8:03No, just walk in there like this.
- 8:05What are you going to do about it?
- 8:07What are you going to do?
- 8:10I'm ringing all these up.
- 8:14All of us are probably younger than a
- 8:15twenty-year-old just sitting on the couch.
- 8:18That's a fact, Fredo.
- 8:21At the grocery store,
- 8:21I have to step on the bottom shelf
- 8:23to reach the top shelf.
- 8:24That'll get you looks, too.
- 8:25Hey, Meredith.
- 8:27Same.
- 8:27But you can do it.
- 8:29Yeah.
- 8:30But you can do it.
- 8:31Yeah.
- 8:31You got enough balance and strength and
- 8:33coordination to be able to actually stand
- 8:35on that thing and reach up and grab
- 8:36whatever you need and then come back down
- 8:38off of it.
- 8:38A hundred percent.
- 8:41Chad and Newfie,
- 8:41I always say I'm still seventeen.
- 8:43My whoop says twenty-eight.
- 8:45Actual age is thirty-eight.
- 8:46See?
- 8:48Fountain of youth.
- 8:49Fountain of youth.
- 8:52My fitness age on my Garmin refuses to
- 8:54get below forty five and a half because
- 8:57it still reads BMI instead of actual like
- 9:00body fat percentage.
- 9:02And so like my BMI is like thirty
- 9:04because I weigh one hundred eighty five
- 9:05pounds and I'm five foot six.
- 9:06So it's like you could get down to
- 9:08like thirty something.
- 9:11But apparently my watch thinks I'm fat,
- 9:13which is fucking hilarious.
- 9:17This is what someone told me when I
- 9:19first started CrossFit.
- 9:21When Arnold Schwarzenegger won Mr.
- 9:22Universe,
- 9:25the ultimate physique competition in the
- 9:28world, at the time he won Mr. Universe,
- 9:31his BMI said he was obese.
- 9:33Yeah, a hundred percent.
- 9:36such a thing why it's taken us all
- 9:41this long to flip the food pyramid maybe
- 9:43we can flip the freaking bmi calculation
- 9:46as well just give i'm in the news
- 9:49it's it's useless a dude literally made it
- 9:52up like i forget it was the seventies
- 9:54or the eighties or something like that but
- 9:55like he just kind of made up some
- 9:56calculations and then we everybody just
- 9:58rolled with it all righty uh larry says
- 10:02if his bmi gets down to thirty he
- 10:04might not wear a shirt anymore
- 10:08If mine gets down to thirty,
- 10:09I am never wearing a shirt.
- 10:11I will go into the twenty items or
- 10:13less with thirty going.
- 10:15All right.
- 10:21So yesterday I caught up on the Rich
- 10:23Froning podcast.
- 10:24Okay.
- 10:26And I'm going to preface this with Rich
- 10:32is my friend.
- 10:34favorite male athlete of all time.
- 10:36Absolutely.
- 10:37I've said that a million times on the
- 10:38show.
- 10:39I think he is the greatest athlete to
- 10:41ever come through CrossFit.
- 10:43And regardless of the dominance of Matt
- 10:46Frazier,
- 10:46I think Rich would have done whatever it
- 10:48took to compete against Matt in the time
- 10:51that they were together.
- 10:52Right?
- 10:53Absolutely.
- 10:54But this whole be, and I know,
- 10:57I know I'm going to,
- 10:58I know some of this is clickbait to
- 10:59get people to click on their stuff, but,
- 11:02However, in the middle of the podcast,
- 11:04they talked about why people aren't
- 11:07signing up for the Mayhem Classic.
- 11:09Why would you not?
- 11:10Why would you not?
- 11:12And then Scott Vandersloot is saying,
- 11:15if I am an elite athlete who is
- 11:18a top ten games athlete,
- 11:20I would want to go up against the
- 11:21best in the world.
- 11:22And I would want to come to...
- 11:25And then they talked about the good old
- 11:27days of the Central East where Rich had
- 11:29to go up against the Marcus Hendrens and
- 11:31the Dan Bailey's and the Scott Pan chicks
- 11:33and all of those people all in the
- 11:35same regional.
- 11:36Right.
- 11:38Apples to oranges, buddy.
- 11:40Back then you had no choice.
- 11:41Wherever you lived, you had to compete.
- 11:45Now you have a choice.
- 11:46It's the way the season is structured.
- 11:48Two,
- 11:50I'm glad that you love your event so
- 11:53much that you think it is the only
- 11:56option for people.
- 11:57But I love Wilson Park and Syndicate Crown
- 12:01has been a very well-run event for several
- 12:03years.
- 12:06Why do you think everybody thinks yours is
- 12:08the premier event and everything else is
- 12:11like step down?
- 12:14And I guess when you're creating it,
- 12:15you need to think about that.
- 12:17You need to think that that is the
- 12:18case.
- 12:20But the fact of the matter is Wilson's
- 12:21been doing this a long time.
- 12:24And he's really damn good at it.
- 12:28Right?
- 12:30The other thing,
- 12:31people don't live all on the East Coast.
- 12:36Some people live in Europe.
- 12:38Some people live on the West Coast.
- 12:40And there are options much closer and much
- 12:42more easy to get to than Cookville,
- 12:45Tennessee.
- 12:45Right?
- 12:47And have the nostalgia factor that are
- 12:50people throwing in just by being at
- 12:53Delmore, regardless of who's running it.
- 12:56People want to go because that's where
- 12:57it's at.
- 12:58Right.
- 13:01There are so many factors to this,
- 13:03and I am putting most of this on
- 13:05Scott Vandersloot.
- 13:06He was the one saying and kind of
- 13:08calling people out that if you are an
- 13:12elite athlete,
- 13:13you should not be afraid of anybody.
- 13:15I don't think half the field that said
- 13:18no is afraid of anybody.
- 13:20I think they just had better options in
- 13:22the overall scheme of the season.
- 13:25And then you take someone like James
- 13:27Sprague who was set on Savan yesterday.
- 13:29I'm only doing one semifinal so that I
- 13:32can collect the biggest contract I earned
- 13:35at WFP.
- 13:37So I'm only doing one semifinal and I'm
- 13:40confident if I can get my spot in
- 13:42that one and I'm making it close at
- 13:44NorCal.
- 13:46They're spoiled for choice.
- 13:49You got Mayhem, Syndicate, Legends,
- 13:54NorCal.
- 13:55That's just here.
- 13:57That is just here in America.
- 14:00Not counting French Throwdown, Far East.
- 14:04I'm sure I'm forgetting four of them.
- 14:07You're spoiled for choice.
- 14:09So to say that people are scared to
- 14:11go is, you know who's scared to go?
- 14:14People who don't sign up for any of
- 14:15them.
- 14:16People who don't do any of the qualifiers
- 14:18for any of them.
- 14:19That's who's scared to go.
- 14:20Or somebody's scared to go.
- 14:22To do a ten K row and go
- 14:23to the Far East in the qualifier so
- 14:27the competition's low over there.
- 14:29I may or may not know somebody who
- 14:31signed up and did the ten K row
- 14:33and the one rep max that left.
- 14:37I mean, cannot confirm nor deny,
- 14:39but I may or may not know somebody
- 14:40who did that and was just as bad
- 14:44as anticipated.
- 14:47Who's watching those videos, by the way?
- 14:50I have no idea.
- 14:53And what are they watching for?
- 14:56I do look at mayhem as a premier
- 14:58event,
- 14:58but people have to look at their chances
- 15:00and what's financially beneficial for each
- 15:02of their personal situations.
- 15:04And it's even more than that, Larry.
- 15:05And I look at it as a premier
- 15:06event too.
- 15:07Like I went to the first ever mayhem
- 15:09classic.
- 15:10It was a great experience.
- 15:12I, I loved every single minute of it,
- 15:15but it doesn't mean that syndicate crown
- 15:17is not a premier event either.
- 15:19Correct.
- 15:20Right.
- 15:20You're not the only show in town that,
- 15:25And flying into Knoxville, still tough,
- 15:28is still easier than flying into
- 15:29Cookville.
- 15:32Because you can't.
- 15:33Because you can't.
- 15:35Yeah.
- 15:37Unless you're hopping a crop duster into a
- 15:39field, you're not flying into Cookville.
- 15:43You're renting a helicopter to drop you
- 15:47off at Cookville High or whatever
- 15:51community college they got laying around
- 15:53over there.
- 15:54That's about the extent of it.
- 15:56Oh, that's hilarious, dude.
- 15:58Free to three to five hour travel versus
- 16:00a twenty hour plus one.
- 16:02Most would choose the one closer to you.
- 16:05Yes.
- 16:07Yes.
- 16:07One hundred percent.
- 16:10Why would you not?
- 16:13It doesn't matter where you go.
- 16:14If you qualify high enough,
- 16:16you finish high enough at whatever
- 16:17competition you go to,
- 16:18you are still going to make the games.
- 16:22So why would you not take the one
- 16:23you either think you have, A,
- 16:24the best shot at, B,
- 16:26is the closest slash most convenient to
- 16:28your house, to where you live,
- 16:30to where you stay, to where you train,
- 16:32to where you're going to be at that
- 16:33time of the year,
- 16:34whatever that looks like.
- 16:36Why would you not?
- 16:37The outcome is going to be the same.
- 16:39The field might be a little bit different.
- 16:41They're going to be different at all of
- 16:42them.
- 16:43Wilson's is going to be the most,
- 16:45I would say,
- 16:45the most exclusive because if you didn't
- 16:48sign up for the Open,
- 16:48if you're not actually in it or if
- 16:50you're already qualified,
- 16:50you don't get to go.
- 16:53which is the only one,
- 16:56as far as I know,
- 16:56the only person that's doing that,
- 16:58and that's the only one that's making any
- 16:59sense out of it.
- 17:03Anna Shoup says, I love the Sneaker Crown.
- 17:05This will be my third year going.
- 17:07Sneaker Crown is awesome,
- 17:08and they do such a good job running
- 17:10the event.
- 17:12Vicky says,
- 17:12I didn't get that same vibe as you
- 17:13did.
- 17:14Maybe I'm reading too little into it.
- 17:16Well, see, Vicky,
- 17:17this is where we're just a little bit
- 17:18different.
- 17:20And again, much love, Vicki.
- 17:21We talked yesterday.
- 17:23Love that she has these comments, right?
- 17:26I'm doing a talk show every single day
- 17:29where I need to come up with topics.
- 17:33So when I'm listening,
- 17:35I'm listening for these small things for
- 17:37us to be able to discuss.
- 17:40And I really did feel like Scott
- 17:43Vandersloot specifically was very,
- 17:46very adamant about people ducking
- 17:50competition in the current format of the
- 17:54CrossFit season.
- 17:55I don't think Rory or Rich,
- 17:59although sometimes they agreed with things
- 18:01he said,
- 18:02I don't think that they were as adamant
- 18:07as Scott was about competition.
- 18:09that specific piece but when he came in
- 18:12saying well listen you had to go up
- 18:15against the tough and you and you didn't
- 18:16complain and you didn't do this and
- 18:18nobody's complaining right now also that
- 18:22was years ago right and you had to
- 18:25go where you lived there was no he
- 18:28had no choice you had to go up
- 18:30against who you had to go up against
- 18:32if i'm jason hopper i can literally go
- 18:35wherever i want to go
- 18:38Whichever one I want to sign up for,
- 18:40it doesn't matter.
- 18:43Or any one of those guys.
- 18:45Uh,
- 18:45Kenneth DeLapp been a member of the show
- 18:47for twenty months.
- 18:49That's almost two years.
- 18:50Two straight years.
- 18:52The original lunch show.
- 18:55You got it, man.
- 18:56And Kenneth's been with us for a long,
- 18:58long time.
- 19:00He is the man.
- 19:02Absolutely.
- 19:06Jenny says it still should be that way.
- 19:08I hope they bring back regionals for that
- 19:09reason.
- 19:12I want them to bring back regionals,
- 19:14but I don't.
- 19:14It's not because of the competition.
- 19:16It's because that it brings the
- 19:18competition close to the affiliates where
- 19:21the people are from.
- 19:22And then the affiliate support is much
- 19:24bigger than what we have currently with
- 19:27semifinals.
- 19:28That's my main reason for wanting
- 19:30regionals back again.
- 19:32I would say that plus standardized
- 19:35programming.
- 19:40God, I hate standardized programming.
- 19:42But anyway, I get it.
- 19:43I get it.
- 19:43That's a show for another day,
- 19:45maybe later this week.
- 19:48Tristan,
- 19:49the people they want to go are ducking
- 19:51because they have so many options and the
- 19:53people who would go aren't invited or
- 19:55won't qualify for half the semis this
- 19:57season.
- 20:01Coach T speaking facts.
- 20:07And what the cowboy said.
- 20:11Cowboy.
- 20:17This is something we talked about
- 20:19yesterday about Pat Vellner having an
- 20:22ablation done yesterday,
- 20:24and it was on his story.
- 20:26He actually came out on Instagram and
- 20:29explained what the process was.
- 20:32He had an atrial flutter, not full AFib.
- 20:35It's a different rhythm than an AFib,
- 20:38but it was happening during competitions.
- 20:41and putting him out of breath.
- 20:43And so him and his wife had agreed
- 20:45once the twenty five season was done,
- 20:48they would look to get the ablation to
- 20:50get that fixed so that the twenty six
- 20:53season is OK.
- 20:55He also stated in that Instagram video
- 20:57that it's about a two week recovery time
- 21:01before he can start ramping up the
- 21:03workouts again.
- 21:05uh so right now he's just resting um
- 21:08and that was i saw that maybe an
- 21:10hour ago on instagram um but atrial
- 21:13flutter not atrial fib fibrillation
- 21:17fibrillation easy for you to say yeah um
- 21:23so um uh regionals were the best in
- 21:30my opinion i i think they brought a
- 21:32lot it
- 21:34They're the best for the fans for sure.
- 21:37Yeah.
- 21:38It's figuring out the monetary piece of
- 21:40it.
- 21:42And I'm sure there are some brains that
- 21:47can figure out some ways to save on
- 21:49the monetary piece.
- 21:51Because if you're getting more affiliates
- 21:53to show up and support the athletes,
- 21:56you're getting more gate receipts.
- 21:58So there's got to be a way.
- 22:01I'm in the Central or Central East or
- 22:03whatever it was,
- 22:05whichever version we were doing.
- 22:06Nashville was sold out every time we went.
- 22:09Oh, I bet.
- 22:10Central East was sold out in Cincinnati or
- 22:13Columbus every time we went.
- 22:16So the gate receipts would be higher.
- 22:18The problem we had at that time is
- 22:19some of the regionals weren't as strong
- 22:22and they did not get the attendance like
- 22:24California and Central got during those
- 22:27times.
- 22:29Southeast region.
- 22:30You can say it.
- 22:33It's fine.
- 22:34Shanna says just say AFib.
- 22:35Yeah.
- 22:37Sometimes I like to challenge,
- 22:38and then I realize halfway into it,
- 22:39I'm like, it wasn't worth it.
- 22:42Maybe I should not.
- 22:46Ortega says, no one is ducking.
- 22:47It's strategic.
- 22:48What's the best route to qualify for the
- 22:50games?
- 22:53Yeah.
- 22:54Vicky's going to make Corey a combo hat,
- 22:56half baseball, half cowboy hat.
- 23:00I'd rather her go with the original thing
- 23:02she read, half and then a third.
- 23:03I'd like to see how she's going to
- 23:04make that work.
- 23:08Math is hard.
- 23:09Math is hard.
- 23:12Cowboy in the back or front?
- 23:14Make it reversible so he can go either
- 23:16way.
- 23:16Yeah,
- 23:17just going to put one side and then
- 23:18one side.
- 23:21Go down the middle.
- 23:22Yeah, absolutely.
- 23:24Split it right down.
- 23:27Okay.
- 23:30So anyway,
- 23:31that was my line of the why is
- 23:35Mayhem getting butthurt over this whole
- 23:37thing.
- 23:37It was really Scott Vandersloot who was
- 23:39really kind of attacking the athletes for
- 23:41it.
- 23:41They have a great lineup at Mayhem,
- 23:44regardless of everything.
- 23:46They put together a really good lineup.
- 23:47It's going to be fun to watch.
- 23:49I'm sure they're going to put together a
- 23:50great show.
- 23:51So yeah, there's all that.
- 23:56um yesterday we were going to talk about
- 23:58and we ran out of time and that
- 24:00is should crossfit have an all-star or pro
- 24:04bowl type game at the end of the
- 24:06season and i and i say this because
- 24:09uh the nfl is getting attacked right now
- 24:11the pro bowl flag football game happened
- 24:13last night
- 24:14Really atrocious to watch,
- 24:16really hard to watch.
- 24:18I liked it better when they did like
- 24:20skills competitions instead of an actual
- 24:23game of any kind of type where like
- 24:25quarterback had to hit moving targets.
- 24:27And they even had a center thing where
- 24:30you had to like snap the ball through
- 24:32holes, right?
- 24:33And you got points and they did a
- 24:36tug of war.
- 24:36Like that stuff was more fun to me
- 24:38than like actually playing the game.
- 24:40i saw a highlight this morning of joe
- 24:44burrow and them like out there and then
- 24:48uh oh who was it anyway he caught
- 24:53an interception and ran it back and like
- 24:55i didn't realize what i was looking at
- 24:57until just now when you said that they
- 24:59played a flag football game that that's
- 25:02what it actually was and i'm like it
- 25:05looked like they were goofing around and
- 25:08like playing a pickup game
- 25:11That's what it looked like from the
- 25:12highlight that I saw.
- 25:13I would never have known that's what that
- 25:15actually was.
- 25:19That's wild.
- 25:22Vicky said,
- 25:23typing without glasses on is hard.
- 25:25Yeah.
- 25:25After sinus surgery,
- 25:26I couldn't wear glasses for a couple of
- 25:28days.
- 25:28Texting was nearly impossible.
- 25:34As far as CrossFit having one, dude,
- 25:36what John George says right there is one
- 25:39hundred percent.
- 25:40I want to see CrossFit athlete doing a
- 25:42workout for fun.
- 25:43Isn't that the theme of was that
- 25:45California has gone for?
- 25:47Yeah.
- 25:51Even even regular water pollution.
- 25:54Like not even SoCal dude,
- 25:55like they're out there and they're
- 25:57competing,
- 25:58but it's for them to compete and have
- 26:01fun and maybe win, you know,
- 26:02a little bit of prize money or whatever
- 26:04the case may be.
- 26:06They're not doing the wild,
- 26:08crazy shit that they would normally do to
- 26:11try to win workouts.
- 26:12Right.
- 26:12They're not Matt Fraser diving over the,
- 26:16like hitting his chest piece and falling
- 26:17three feet off the concrete and
- 26:20to get second place in the uh what
- 26:24was it former's nightmare whatever
- 26:26whatever it was called right yeah oh
- 26:28strongman's fear excuse me strongman's
- 26:30fear he didn't even win that workout but
- 26:33he was trying to get those points so
- 26:34bad and beat um wachowski wachowski
- 26:39wachowski so bad mike wazowski's a whole
- 26:41different person has two eyes mike one
- 26:46mike one yeah um
- 26:49you don't get that if they're just out
- 26:51there doing it front.
- 26:53I mean, Ken Walter says no,
- 26:57because it's an individual sport.
- 26:59So CrossFit pro bowl game wouldn't be any
- 27:00different than any other competition.
- 27:02However,
- 27:03seventies ABC wide world of sports
- 27:04superstars would be great.
- 27:06Yes.
- 27:07I think that'd be cool.
- 27:09Or what the lab said right there and
- 27:11a celebrity all-star game,
- 27:13make them play softball.
- 27:16Yeah.
- 27:17Kalipa would be last pick.
- 27:19hundred percent hundred percent put them
- 27:23make them play softball make them do
- 27:26something that's actually athletic and see
- 27:28who can and who can't host some
- 27:30personalities or other sports athletes at
- 27:32the ranch the problem with that is you
- 27:37have to get the participation of the other
- 27:38athletes right do like uh remember mtv
- 27:42used to do rock and jock
- 27:45But here we get out there, right?
- 27:50Something along those lines,
- 27:51but you got CrossFit athletes and an
- 27:53actual athletes, right?
- 27:55So you got Tyson Beijing is on a
- 27:57team with with Justin Medeiros.
- 28:01And they have to do something athletic.
- 28:04Right?
- 28:05Yeah,
- 28:06I know that Justin can actually throw a
- 28:08baseball,
- 28:09ten feet and hit and hit somebody in
- 28:11the glove.
- 28:12We know Tyson can.
- 28:15Here's my dilemma with that.
- 28:17CrossFit seems to get stuck in a rut
- 28:19when they have an athlete in another sport
- 28:23that loves CrossFit.
- 28:25And I love Tyson Bajan.
- 28:27I am the biggest Chicago Bears fan you
- 28:29will ever meet.
- 28:31I watch everything that dude is on.
- 28:33I want more than...
- 28:39I want more than just Tyson involved,
- 28:41right?
- 28:41I want other.
- 28:42That's what I'm saying.
- 28:43Like you'd have to,
- 28:44you'd have to go form it out and
- 28:46figure out who's doing CrossFit and who
- 28:48isn't, you know,
- 28:49in the wide world of sports.
- 28:51Cause I'm sure there's a ton of people
- 28:54that are still doing it,
- 28:55but be able to get them together and
- 28:57get them in the same place and do
- 28:59something along those lines.
- 29:00That would be fun to watch.
- 29:03Then you get to see them doing stuff
- 29:04that they don't normally do.
- 29:07There's that event over in the UK.
- 29:08I don't think they did it this year,
- 29:10but they did it the past two years.
- 29:12And one of the things was there was
- 29:14like an American Ninja Warrior course.
- 29:17Watching the CrossFitters attempt the
- 29:19Ninja course was fun for me to watch.
- 29:22If you added pieces like that to something
- 29:25where you brought them together,
- 29:26that would be really cool to me.
- 29:29The more I was thinking about it last
- 29:30night, I thought maybe we already have...
- 29:34Yeah, Patrick Clark said Fit Fest.
- 29:36That's what it was.
- 29:39Maybe we already have our all-star game.
- 29:42And initially you think, well,
- 29:44Waterpalooza, SoCal, right?
- 29:45You're bringing people North America
- 29:48versus the world.
- 29:49It's kind of this big thing.
- 29:50And that could be it, kind of.
- 29:52But I think Rogue is it too.
- 29:55Rogue essentially is taking the best
- 29:58athletes from that season and
- 30:01I know their new formula goes back a
- 30:03few years.
- 30:04Right.
- 30:05If they went back to the old way
- 30:07of basically taking the top fifteen from
- 30:10the games and moved in and had the
- 30:15Invitational,
- 30:16that essentially becomes your all-star
- 30:17game.
- 30:18It's the best of the best with all
- 30:21of their expenses covered,
- 30:23coming to have fun,
- 30:25but there's serious money on the line.
- 30:27Like,
- 30:28you're not getting half-assed effort at
- 30:30Rogue.
- 30:30No.
- 30:32But you're also getting the best of the
- 30:34best, getting their expenses covered.
- 30:36It's like a reward for them for making
- 30:39it there.
- 30:40And because their rogue programming is so
- 30:42specialized,
- 30:44you're not seeing people do stuff like
- 30:46they would normally do.
- 30:47That handle with the weight on it,
- 30:50they had to move up the stairs this
- 30:53year.
- 30:55Like that's not a games event type thing
- 30:57that most love log is not a game,
- 30:59not necessarily.
- 31:00They have had it at the games,
- 31:01but generally speaking,
- 31:02that's a rogue thing, right?
- 31:07Alito says, I mean, I might be biased,
- 31:09but if you want to test athleticism,
- 31:10it shouldn't be something that only
- 31:11Americans can do.
- 31:12American Ninja Warrior is just the
- 31:14American version of it.
- 31:15It is actually not an American thing.
- 31:17It is a an Asian Japanese thing.
- 31:20I believe it came out of Japan and
- 31:22it is spread around the world.
- 31:24It's an obstacle course race that is
- 31:27worldwide.
- 31:28There just is an American version that's
- 31:30televised called American Ninja Warrior.
- 31:33Yeah.
- 31:33Um,
- 31:34but that it would actually was born out
- 31:36of Japan and has spread around the world.
- 31:39Uh,
- 31:41she was referring to the football thing.
- 31:42Yeah.
- 31:43I don't,
- 31:43the football is not an example to use
- 31:45in this.
- 31:45It was terrible.
- 31:47Um, but no, I would, I,
- 31:54especially like an obstacle course, right?
- 31:55Like that,
- 31:55where it's not just how fit you are,
- 31:58where you have to have all the, um,
- 32:01guess it is kind of how fit you
- 32:02are because it's balanced coordination
- 32:03speed strength agility like it's all of it
- 32:06put together at once and to see if
- 32:08you can catch these things and then swing
- 32:10from one thing to another one and you
- 32:12know uh the salmon ladder and just all
- 32:15those why that stuff is wild to watch
- 32:18dude absolutely and then some of the
- 32:21bigger bodies
- 32:23right the jason hoppers and whatnot i
- 32:26would love to see hopper and roll through
- 32:29the american ninja course and just just to
- 32:30see he might be fantastic at it i
- 32:33have absolutely no idea but it would be
- 32:34fun to watch well what was fun is
- 32:36um so when fit fest did that last
- 32:39year or last year i think it was
- 32:41I think Patrick was actually the one
- 32:42filming it.
- 32:43He filmed them trying it.
- 32:44And you could see them adapting as they
- 32:47were going through it.
- 32:48The first time through,
- 32:49they weren't doing well.
- 32:51Second time through, all of a sudden, oh,
- 32:52they made it a little bit further.
- 32:54Third time through, oh,
- 32:54now we're starting to get it.
- 32:56And it was really fun watching those with
- 32:59high athleticism figure it out faster as
- 33:03they're going through it repeatedly.
- 33:06Yeah.
- 33:08And so that would be fun.
- 33:09And it would be a competition that would
- 33:11favor the smaller athlete that their grip
- 33:16strength would hold up more because
- 33:18they're not supporting two hundred and
- 33:20thirty pounds on a bar.
- 33:24Dangling from one arm trying to swing to
- 33:27the next one.
- 33:27Yeah.
- 33:30Yeah,
- 33:30so I think there could be things that
- 33:33would make that a lot of fun.
- 33:34I think you could add something like that
- 33:36to like Guadalupalooza SoCal,
- 33:38which is like an adaptable athletic type
- 33:41thing as one of the events that would
- 33:44make it fun.
- 33:46I just think that like SoCal has to
- 33:48like get it refined down a little bit
- 33:50more.
- 33:51They've only done it two years.
- 33:52Maybe give them a little bit more time
- 33:54to get it refined and maybe we will
- 33:57have something there.
- 33:59I think the only thing that is my
- 34:01biggest drawback with SoCal is in the past
- 34:03two years that it's been around,
- 34:05it's been so sponsor dependent.
- 34:07Yeah.
- 34:09And maybe,
- 34:10and I don't think their tier is sponsoring
- 34:12it this year.
- 34:13So maybe it won't be a sponsor dependent
- 34:15moving into the future.
- 34:17Love it.
- 34:20Oh yeah.
- 34:25Amanda Fillers,
- 34:26we found a place with an obstacle course
- 34:27in twenty seventeen and got to go practice
- 34:30there beforehand.
- 34:31Yeah, I see.
- 34:32I worked as a as a volunteer to
- 34:34twenty seventeen games in the O course and
- 34:36it helped with that whole thing.
- 34:39That was so much fun to watch.
- 34:42So I'll watch the documentary just to
- 34:44watch that part of it,
- 34:46just to watch watch Matt fall off,
- 34:48Pat fall off like right.
- 34:50That was the eighteen was when they fell
- 34:53off.
- 34:54Yeah.
- 34:54Eighteen was the where they had.
- 34:55Oh, yeah.
- 34:57Randy at the end.
- 34:59One where it was freezing cold outside.
- 35:01Yeah.
- 35:02It was snowing.
- 35:04Yeah.
- 35:04Snowing in August.
- 35:07Yeah.
- 35:08That one was fun to watch, too,
- 35:09with the caving ladder and and all of
- 35:11that good stuff.
- 35:12But yeah, no,
- 35:13both of those were fantastic.
- 35:17I think a test of common things that
- 35:18CrossFit can be beneficial,
- 35:20but just at extreme levels.
- 35:22That's why I love events like Strongman
- 35:23Sphere from the games.
- 35:24That's another twenty seventeen event.
- 35:26One of my favorite events ever.
- 35:28You know, I've told the story on here.
- 35:30My job was to run down,
- 35:31grab the yoke and bring it back to
- 35:33reset in between every event.
- 35:36And that was one of the highlights of
- 35:37my CrossFit life, getting to do that.
- 35:41And it was we were in the pit.
- 35:44Because it was a raised floor back then.
- 35:47And watching that when Matt and Brent went
- 35:49over the edge, it was freaking awesome.
- 35:55And just falling over the side.
- 35:57And not even for first place.
- 36:00That's what got me.
- 36:01That's what that dude was willing to do
- 36:03and didn't even get first place.
- 36:05That's amazing.
- 36:06It's fun to watch.
- 36:08And the choose-your-own-adventure style,
- 36:09right?
- 36:10Because...
- 36:11which you got to pick whatever you wanted
- 36:14to take first and then they added the
- 36:16handstand walk piece for a gymnastics
- 36:20aspect to it and that made a huge
- 36:23difference like fukowski failed two two
- 36:26handstand steps from the fit the one line
- 36:30and where he would have won that by
- 36:31a landslide and there would have been no
- 36:33going over the edge no uh climbing snail
- 36:39was a fun one to watch
- 36:41And Frida, that's a great point.
- 36:43And I think we're all missing that outdoor
- 36:46aspect of CrossFit competition.
- 36:51We've been inside for a couple years now.
- 36:54We've lost all of the strongman's fear,
- 36:57obstacle course, snail,
- 37:00those types of things.
- 37:01It would be awesome to get back to
- 37:04a point where we could break those things
- 37:07out again.
- 37:08The, uh,
- 37:09and maybe during an all-star competition
- 37:11or at the end of the season.
- 37:14Chaos.
- 37:15That's a,
- 37:15that was another one where you just go
- 37:20into your judge tells you to stop.
- 37:22I didn't know.
- 37:23Yeah.
- 37:27All, all good stuff.
- 37:30I, the more we're inside,
- 37:32the more it's predictable.
- 37:35The more it's predictable and the less
- 37:37excited, like it comes to,
- 37:38it ends up coming down to the race
- 37:40and it's less spectacle than it used to
- 37:42be.
- 37:43And not that the spectacle is more
- 37:44important than the race,
- 37:45but you have to have a good balance
- 37:47of both.
- 37:47I think you have to have something that
- 37:49is fun to watch and has a good
- 37:51race at the same time.
- 37:52When you can't tell where anybody's at,
- 37:56or you have to rely on the,
- 37:57you know,
- 37:58the screen or the announcer or something,
- 38:00you know, chase or bill,
- 38:01whoever to tell you, Hey,
- 38:02this person is right here or whatnot.
- 38:05You can follow it,
- 38:06but it's not as exciting as, holy shit,
- 38:10Katrin just made it to the sled,
- 38:13the pulling thing, whatever,
- 38:15I forget what it's called,
- 38:16and she is smoking everybody.
- 38:18It's not even close.
- 38:21Watching them move across the floor or
- 38:22whatnot.
- 38:23That kind of stuff was way more fun
- 38:26for me.
- 38:26The killer cage.
- 38:29The fact that that has never came back,
- 38:32all those pieces and parts are sitting in
- 38:33a warehouse somewhere.
- 38:36like that was fun to watch yeah that's
- 38:39why rogue owns five buildings in columbus
- 38:41hundred percent hundred percent like like
- 38:44like pc said they're all sitting around
- 38:46somewhere in a warehouse and the fact that
- 38:49they've never been used again you know put
- 38:52them in a different configuration put
- 38:54different stuff in in between and whatnot
- 38:58make folks do that uh shanna says you
- 39:01should hold the games in the pacific
- 39:02northwest and summer mild temps for
- 39:04outdoor events
- 39:08she's not wrong.
- 39:08Uh,
- 39:10one reason why rogue is a better viewing
- 39:12experience right now,
- 39:14especially if they can find a place where
- 39:15they go back outside.
- 39:17Yeah.
- 39:19Um, you know, in, I,
- 39:21I was not a fan of the baseball
- 39:23seating and structure hill.
- 39:26The hill was fun to watch,
- 39:29especially in the rain with Chandler doing
- 39:31the,
- 39:31the butt slide down the arm photo slide.
- 39:38Those are the things that then live in
- 39:40infamy, right?
- 39:42Me and my wife were watching it, right?
- 39:44And he goes sliding down the thing and
- 39:46she sat up in her seat because she
- 39:48was only half paying attention.
- 39:49She goes, is he sliding down?
- 39:51Yes, he is.
- 39:52It's the fastest way down.
- 39:56If you've never walked that hill,
- 39:59it is steep.
- 40:01It is a serious, no joke, steep hill.
- 40:05But yeah.
- 40:09What else do we got?
- 40:09I don't know where we're at with time.
- 40:11Okay.
- 40:16So I talked about it in the open.
- 40:17Lindsey Vonn tore her ACL,
- 40:19ruptured her ACL.
- 40:21She announced that she is going to try
- 40:24to compete at the Olympics next week.
- 40:29Downhill skiing with a ruptured ACL.
- 40:32How old is she?
- 40:36This will be her last Olympics.
- 40:39Well,
- 40:39it's going to be her last one way
- 40:41or another.
- 40:42She already has a robotic knee on the
- 40:44right side.
- 40:45This was her left.
- 40:48Do you think that...
- 40:54So we had like a text thing with
- 40:56Jamie and Carolyn and Lex.
- 40:58Do you think that it's even safe for
- 41:01her to do that?
- 41:02No.
- 41:03No.
- 41:05How could it be?
- 41:06They reach speeds of seventy to eighty
- 41:08miles an hour.
- 41:09Yeah.
- 41:11That's what Mark Phillips says right
- 41:13there.
- 41:13Yeah.
- 41:14I mean, that's insane.
- 41:15Mark Phillips.
- 41:16I can't imagine how she's going to do
- 41:17this.
- 41:20So I get so when Bill blew his
- 41:23at a killing finals.
- 41:25Right.
- 41:25And he finished the workout.
- 41:27How he did that, I don't know.
- 41:29How he did that, I don't know.
- 41:30But adrenaline, he was in the process,
- 41:33blah, blah, blah, moving still.
- 41:35Probably more bouncing on one foot than
- 41:37the other one at that point because he
- 41:38already had an imbalance,
- 41:40according to the dude that he's.
- 41:42But this is already done.
- 41:44So, like,
- 41:44is she going to crutch her way up
- 41:46to the – because Bill was on crutches
- 41:47for six, eight months, like after surgery,
- 41:50whatever it was.
- 41:51I saw him a whole lot.
- 41:52So if it's blown,
- 41:54how are you even going to get on
- 41:55skis?
- 41:57So apparently I watched a doctor today
- 42:00kind of explain it.
- 42:02And he thinks that she can do it
- 42:03practicing because she's not going to
- 42:06reach.
- 42:07She's not going to go to that extreme.
- 42:08Like you just talked about with Frazier
- 42:11and Fikowski finishing the sphere and the
- 42:13effort they put at the end.
- 42:14When you're practicing,
- 42:15you're not putting that much effort in.
- 42:17So the turns aren't as tight.
- 42:19The speed isn't as great.
- 42:21So it's going to feel okay to,
- 42:24for a minute like all braced up but
- 42:27the problem is you're going to get into
- 42:28a trouble spot and you're going to try
- 42:31to engage the stuff that you've been
- 42:33trained to engage and it's not going to
- 42:36be there yeah and then you fall down
- 42:38the mountain instead of slide down it dude
- 42:43i don't um where shauna shanna a lot
- 42:48lots of splinting of the knee for support
- 42:50i guess
- 42:52How much limiting,
- 42:53what limiting factor is that going to be?
- 42:59So watching this video,
- 43:00the ACL is what keeps your tibia,
- 43:05the bottom bone, from the top bone,
- 43:08from going out in front of it.
- 43:10The tibia from going out.
- 43:11And so when it tears,
- 43:13it goes out in front and then snaps
- 43:15back.
- 43:16but then the, the, the ligament is gone.
- 43:19Yeah.
- 43:19Right.
- 43:20So now she doesn't have that kind of
- 43:22go preventing it from going out forward.
- 43:26And it's also at an angle.
- 43:28So it'll actually spiral without the
- 43:31support is the way the,
- 43:32this doctor explained it.
- 43:34And when,
- 43:35if that knee becomes the outside knee that
- 43:37she has to push on to turn and
- 43:40And she has to engage that and it's
- 43:41not there.
- 43:43It's going to be,
- 43:45it could be dangerous at seventy miles an
- 43:47hour.
- 43:48It could be dangerous at seven miles an
- 43:50hour.
- 43:53Much less seventy miles an hour sliding
- 43:55down the side of a mountain.
- 43:57That just sounds like a terrible idea.
- 43:59And I get it.
- 43:59Like I see what Terry says.
- 44:01Oh, you know,
- 44:03she's not ready to accept that her Olympic
- 44:05career is over.
- 44:07She's already accomplished all of these
- 44:09things.
- 44:12Right?
- 44:13I would still be looking to want to...
- 44:14At forty-one, dude,
- 44:15I'm going to tell you from experience,
- 44:16and you know as well, she's still young.
- 44:20So, like, do you want to...
- 44:23You still want to walk?
- 44:24You still want to be able to run?
- 44:26You still want to stay fit,
- 44:27active the rest of your life?
- 44:30to to to risk it just for to
- 44:33say well i made the i made the
- 44:34olympics and i'm going do my event that
- 44:37everybody knows me for just so i can
- 44:38slide down the side of a mountain and
- 44:40maybe make it all the way to the
- 44:42bottom without tearing without making it
- 44:44worse because you already need surgery
- 44:46it's already gone yeah well i know but
- 44:49that part's going but then what else is
- 44:51going to happen whenever like you said
- 44:53whenever she has to
- 44:55She just goes into what she normally would
- 44:57do to that.
- 44:58I,
- 44:59my only fear is does she end up
- 45:00in a wheelchair at forty five because she
- 45:02has nothing left in either knee.
- 45:05As that said,
- 45:05do CrossFitters appear soft to people like
- 45:08that with all of our safety conversations?
- 45:11don't know i that's all relative like what
- 45:15people think about things um i watched the
- 45:18thing on get up this morning where uh
- 45:20they were counting down the five guttiest
- 45:22performances of all time like people that
- 45:24fought through injury and and they
- 45:27couldn't even agree on the set and it
- 45:28was comical like what somebody thought was
- 45:32they brought up michael jordan's flu game
- 45:34and one of the athletes was like so
- 45:37he fought through the sniffles to play a
- 45:39game
- 45:40You know,
- 45:40she's going down a mountain with no ACL.
- 45:42There's a tiny bit of... Yeah.
- 45:46Slight difference.
- 45:48I think Terry's got it.
- 45:48I think she just is not ready to
- 45:50accept that her Olympic career is over.
- 45:53When we all get to that point where
- 45:54we're walking away, it's tough,
- 45:56no matter what that sport is or what
- 45:58level we reach.
- 45:59Walking away says...
- 46:03And look,
- 46:03I understand that's what she's doing.
- 46:05Like she wants to end it on her
- 46:06terms, not anybody else's.
- 46:07I get that mindset.
- 46:10I just don't know if it's all the
- 46:14way torn,
- 46:15like how much worse are you going to
- 46:16make your leg, your hip,
- 46:19your knee specifically,
- 46:20like anything that's all attached to that
- 46:21shit by going compete at the Olympics and
- 46:25doing what you do,
- 46:26which is ski down a mountain at a
- 46:29million miles an hour.
- 46:30So, Ken,
- 46:31she actually tore it last week after she
- 46:34won the World Cup.
- 46:36She just had a press conference yesterday
- 46:37saying she was still going to compete.
- 46:40She was actually airlifted off the
- 46:43mountain less than a week ago.
- 46:46And that's where they found out she tore,
- 46:48she ruptured the ACL.
- 46:55Larry Young,
- 46:56I know a guy after several ACL surgeries,
- 46:57last time he just didn't fix it and
- 47:00wore the ACL brace,
- 47:02played softball for years at a high level.
- 47:04Yeah,
- 47:04I think softball and skiing down a
- 47:07mountain at seventy miles an hour are a
- 47:09little bit different.
- 47:10Slightly.
- 47:13She also said she's doing this to honor
- 47:14her mother who died of ALS to bring
- 47:17more awareness to the disease.
- 47:20That's admirable.
- 47:21I just don't want her to, I like,
- 47:22I just hope she isn't like compromised for
- 47:25the rest of her life because of it.
- 47:28Um, so, uh,
- 47:37if you can't run on it,
- 47:38you should not ski on it,
- 47:41especially not high impact.
- 47:46All right.
- 47:47One last thing before we go.
- 47:50WFP released their rule book for the
- 47:51season.
- 47:52It's out there for everybody to view.
- 47:55The only thing I'm going to say about
- 47:56this, and it's going to be super short.
- 47:58Last year,
- 47:59I was very supportive of the WFP in
- 48:02the decision they made with Alex Kazan and
- 48:04that they said that they had changed the
- 48:06rule and that cannibalism
- 48:09Yeah.
- 48:10Cannabinoids are,
- 48:11were not actually illegal anymore.
- 48:14They had changed that.
- 48:15However,
- 48:15they released the rule book again.
- 48:17They are still in there.
- 48:19Get your paperwork done, please.
- 48:20Like I tried to support you in that
- 48:22saying that you can make the decision and
- 48:24maybe the paperwork didn't keep up with
- 48:26it.
- 48:26Don't a year later,
- 48:27put it back out with the same damn
- 48:29thing.
- 48:30Come on.
- 48:32I tried to support you on that front.
- 48:34I tried,
- 48:36but you can't keep doing stuff like this.
- 48:39Get a better editor.
- 48:43Street drugs.
- 48:54I'll miss that.
- 48:58Correction coming.
- 49:00The Gazan rule.
- 49:06Especially after all the flack they got
- 49:07over it.
- 49:11Yeah, again,
- 49:13I don't think it should be illegal.
- 49:14I think that marijuana is legal in most
- 49:18states now.
- 49:20It should be fine.
- 49:21It's fine in most pro sports.
- 49:23Just get the paperwork right.
- 49:25It's not exactly a performance-enhancing
- 49:28drug.
- 49:29Yeah.
- 49:36I mean, come on.
- 49:36I mean,
- 49:36there are beliefs that it helps with
- 49:38recovery.
- 49:39Fine.
- 49:40So does magnesium.
- 49:41Let them have something to recover.
- 49:43Yeah.
- 49:43So does magnesium.
- 49:45So does proper hydration and nutrition.
- 49:47And so like,
- 49:48so do a lot of things.
- 49:51The money you could make at the concession
- 49:53selling Doritos and Cheetos.
- 49:54Dude, screw that.
- 49:57Like it all of a sudden now, um,
- 50:00what is it?
- 50:00HDR CBD shows up and like,
- 50:03they're just selling gummies at their,
- 50:04at their booth.
- 50:05Good Lord.
- 50:07Yeah.
- 50:09make a million dollars add the games oh
- 50:12yeah no we ran out it'd run out
- 50:14in three hours uh last thing before we
- 50:17go i saw that you got you tried
- 50:20the strawberry lemonade third c uh i did
- 50:23yeah i did it's good stuff it's good
- 50:26stuff it's a little i will say this
- 50:29and third take note it's a little chalkier
- 50:32than i expected like it stays in the
- 50:35glass but that's that's
- 50:38Like I'm sitting there with my, my,
- 50:39my thing, mixing it wrong.
- 50:42And as I get a little bit leftover
- 50:43in the bottom of the glass,
- 50:44but all that does is makes me put
- 50:45some more water in it, shake it up.
- 50:47And then I drink the rest of that
- 50:48too, as well.
- 50:49Cause I'm not letting any of that stuff
- 50:50go to waste.
- 50:52I will say this too,
- 50:53and this is going to sound ridiculous
- 50:55because I'm sure it's the exact same
- 50:56formula,
- 50:57but I feel like I've been sleeping better
- 50:59with the strawberry lemonade than I did
- 51:01with the salted caramel chocolate.
- 51:04They tell you not to heat it up.
- 51:08And I put it in warm milk,
- 51:10the other one I did.
- 51:11And this, I just make myself a glass,
- 51:12like it's a regular glass of strawberry
- 51:14lemonade.
- 51:15And dude, within an hour,
- 51:17I am picking my head up.
- 51:19Like, okay, I'm going to bed.
- 51:22And you can get yours at thirdsy.com
- 51:24backslash Jazzy.

- 51:34I don't even know what they are.
- 51:35They're top secret.
- 51:38So but we'll probably hear something out
- 51:40in the next week.
- 51:41With that, guys,
- 51:44Mike DeVito said if we ban marijuana,
- 51:46we need to ban water, melatonin,
- 51:48knee braces, et cetera.
- 51:50Yeah, melatonin's bad.
- 51:51Thirdsy doesn't have that.
- 51:52Thirdsy is a much better recovery
- 51:54solution.
- 51:55It doesn't have that awful melatonin feel.
- 51:58There we go.
- 52:00Kenneth DeLapp, who's winning,
- 52:01twenty six point one.
- 52:05I saw Patrick say it was.
- 52:07Yeah, Patfield versus Mertens.
- 52:11I never bet against Colton in an open
- 52:14workout.
- 52:15Nope.
- 52:17Especially an early one that's probably
- 52:18going to have burpees.
- 52:21Yeah, I'm not betting against Colton.
- 52:24Not for the Open.
- 52:25Not happening.
- 52:28Deuces from the stable.
- 52:30Awesome.
- 52:31With that, guys,
- 52:32have a great rest of your day.
- 52:34We'll be back tomorrow on Lunch with the
- 52:35Clydesdale,
- 52:36and we've got more to talk about.
- 52:38And we'll probably revisit a little bit of
- 52:40this.
- 52:41With that,
- 52:42we'll see everybody next time on Lunch
- 52:44with the Clydesdale.
- 52:46Bye, guys.
