- 4:56It airs on Thursday mornings, but been having some things
- 5:00going in true fashion, right? And true.
- 5:04Wait, things just tend to normally go right when it, when
- 5:08it rains, it, pours as they say. But 2022 is kicked off and
- 5:12started off in a rather interesting, sort of way.
- 5:16So this is going to be a pretty heartfelt and passionate
- 5:19episode. I'm gonna be talking about some
- 5:21things today that may lose me some subscribers or lose me some
- 5:26followers or you guys are entitled to your own thoughts
- 5:30and opinions about things. But you know, I've remained
- 5:33pretty. Be silent about this particular
- 5:36topic about this particular subject for about the last
- 5:40couple of years now and things are just become way too close to
- 5:45home for me, too. You know, I wouldn't say stay
- 5:51silent but for me to just sort of, you know, Not be vocal about
- 5:58it. And as you might suspect, plans
- 6:02have been quiet about it for the last couple of years.
- 6:05What could I possibly be referring to other than this
- 6:09covid-19 pandemic? So yeah, it's going to be one of
- 6:14those types of shows and I'm going to get pretty pointed.
- 6:18I'm gonna get pretty, you know, Unapologetic with the things
- 6:24that I've got to say about it. If you're still interested in.
- 6:30Sticking around for that. Thank you so much and if you're
- 6:35not and you want a bit, you know, dip out that's fine.
- 6:38You don't want to hear me ramble on for the next however, long,
- 6:43you know about this particular subject, I understand.
- 6:48But it is something that I have to say.
- 6:53Want to say, I'm going to be using my raspy voice to say it.
- 6:59so, you know, look this whole, this whole Global pandemic
- 7:07thing, this whole virus, whatever, pretty sore subject,
- 7:11for a lot of people it specifically, when it comes to
- 7:14the vaccine being vaccinated. Now, I'm not a doctor.
- 7:18I'm not a medical professional. I am not a scientist and I don't
- 7:26Buy into a lot of what the media says, but I do hear and I do see
- 7:30things from both sides of the spectrum, right?
- 7:33I do understand why people think that to get vaccinated is the
- 7:36way to go and I understand why people believe to be
- 7:40unvaccinated that it doesn't matter.
- 7:43And that you know this and that what I'm going to be speaking on
- 7:46today is where I'm where I've come to, you know, kind of where
- 7:52I started out with my thoughts on the whole thing what led me
- 7:55into Thinking the way that I think today and why stand
- 8:00staunchly, you know, behind what I'm about to say.
- 8:04So as I sit on this delicious single, malt islay from Ardbeg,
- 8:15It's absolutely delicious, nice and nice and smoking ice and PD.
- 8:23So you know, let's let's rewind a bit.
- 8:27Let's rewind a bit to the end of 2019, beginning of 2020.
- 8:32When all of this crap, hit the fan.
- 8:36I guess it's probably the beginning of 2020 when we really
- 8:38started hearing about it in the news and in the media you know
- 8:41people were Talking about it and it was getting attention.
- 8:44And next thing, you know, you know, there were mandated I say
- 8:50curfews and you know, you can't go here.
- 8:53You can't go there stores are closed down, businesses are
- 8:55being shut down. Labadee, blah blah.
- 8:58You know, people are dying and all this kind of stuff.
- 9:02And there's been a lot of, you know, thoughts around the world.
- 9:06And from a lot of different people about this.
- 9:08This whole thing, I'm not going to get into that particular.
- 9:11I'm going to be talking Civically about Where I Stood
- 9:15and where I currently stand and what led me to this stance on
- 9:18just the, the overall, you know, views on keeping people safe
- 9:26myself, my loved ones and why this is a heathen podcast, okay,
- 9:30I'm going to eventually get in come back and circle around to
- 9:34the to that aspect of it. So just, you know, entertain me
- 9:37bear with me as we go through. This is, you know, settle in.
- 9:40If you will get comfortable, we'll get there.
- 9:42So that, you know, beginning of 2020 when the World, As We Knew
- 9:47It changed entirely, you know, things that I never thought I
- 9:52would see in my lifetime things that if you're listening and
- 9:55watching that happen, that you probably never would have
- 9:59thought that you would have seen in your lifetime and the the
- 10:03attention that it brought on focusing on family, focusing on
- 10:10your loved ones, focusing on your nearest and Dearest.
- 10:12And taking care of those close to you, and taking care of
- 10:15yourself, taking care of your family.
- 10:17Your home, like, all these things came into a very, very
- 10:21big Spotlight during that time because people were scared and
- 10:25people were reacting out of fear and doing things that they
- 10:29normally wouldn't do because they were afraid, right?
- 10:33So all of that was happening and you know, it was pretty much the
- 10:39proverbial, you know? Prepare for the worst, you know,
- 10:43stock up on things or make sure that your rationing certain
- 10:47things to you don't know how long stores are going to be.
- 10:49Without I wouldn't, you know what, the direction of things
- 10:51are going to go in, you don't want to get caught with your
- 10:54pants down, like, you know, all these kind of prepare Tory
- 10:57measures that we would take. And it was it was basically
- 11:00almost like, you know, the you know, you see in a lot of like
- 11:03these movies or whatever, where their crops going on outside and
- 11:06people are frantic and everybody's like reaching out
- 11:08and shutting their windows and bolt in their doors.
- 11:11And all that. That's kind of what it was for
- 11:13me and the closest ones to me, you know, we got what we needed.
- 11:17We took the precaution that we did.
- 11:18The things that we needed to stay put for a while and we
- 11:22stayed Vigilant just in case, anything went sideways and I'm
- 11:28sure a lot of people did you know and then over the months of
- 11:32you know some our 2020 and whatnot.
- 11:36You know, we start seeing things happening where You know, it
- 11:42gets crazier, you know, and then we start seeing eventually that
- 11:46oh, well let's, you know, let's wear masks, let's do all these
- 11:49things and that's a whole Topic in and of itself where, you
- 11:52know, my body, my choice. So, you know, you can't make me
- 11:56wear a mask and just like, you know, my body my choice, you
- 11:59can, you know, make me that get vaccinated, it's my choice to do
- 12:04it. If I want, you can't tell me
- 12:05that I should have to do this to go places this net.
- 12:09So, We start seeing all that take place, you know, and I was
- 12:15when you know things started to quote, unquote, open back up.
- 12:19You know what I'm saying? When, you know, you could go to
- 12:21a restaurant when you could go to the stores a bit more freely
- 12:25or whatever and there was you have to wear your mask and
- 12:27there's people that were doing their best and they're doing
- 12:29their jobs, whatever to enforce those rules.
- 12:32I had no problem with wearing the mask, you know, and and did
- 12:36for the longest time, you know, not going to get into what, you
- 12:40know, the science behind it and does it work or not?
- 12:43It's like look man, you know you're part of this world and
- 12:46you know to go certain places in to do certain things like you
- 12:49want to play the game. You gotta play by the rules and
- 12:55You know, it's not me going, you know, I'm being the Sheep.
- 12:58I'm just doing what I'm being told.
- 12:59It's like, I gotta go get certain things and if I need to
- 13:01wear a piece of paper across my face to go do it, I'll be fine.
- 13:06You'll all be. You know, we'll all be fine if
- 13:08we just shut up and do it right? No, big deal.
- 13:12You know, and they said oh that's where it starts, you
- 13:14know, they ask you this to tell you to do that and then next
- 13:16thing you know it's boom they got you I got you by the balls,
- 13:19you know as they say or whatever and I don't buy into that hole.
- 13:25We call it conspiracy theories of, you know, government control
- 13:30and whatnot. I just don't.
- 13:32So anyway, we get to the point where, you know, 2020 is
- 13:36wrapping up And you know, we start seeing things get more
- 13:42relaxed and then we see all these different variants of the
- 13:47virus appear 2021 was, you know, probably like 20 20 continued a
- 13:56bit in that in that Arena. You know, there was a lot of
- 14:00crazy stuff with with travel restrictions and, you know, you
- 14:05can't fly unless you vaccinate. You can't.
- 14:07Go into a music venue. People getting refused business,
- 14:11right? Like you can't come here.
- 14:12You can't participate in this event unless you're vaccinated
- 14:15or unless you show proof of a negative test results, and all
- 14:18this other kind of stuff, people are getting all up in arms about
- 14:25it. You know, that's not fair, you
- 14:26can't do that in this and then you know, thinking of just
- 14:29themselves Thinking of just themselves and the end.
- 14:34And in the inconvenience of, you know, not being able to just do
- 14:40what they want, the way they want to do it, you know, you're
- 14:42infringing on my rights and all this other kind of stuff, you
- 14:45know, nobody's infringing on your rights.
- 14:46It's just that they need to again, play.
- 14:50Play play the game. You gotta play by the rules.
- 14:53So, I guess it was about mid 2021, right?
- 15:02It wasn't like right as soon as they came out with this vaccine
- 15:05information, right? Which is considering how young
- 15:10this variant of covid it is and although the flu virus or
- 15:15whatever you want to call it, like how however new this virus
- 15:18is right. The vaccine as I call it that
- 15:22was that was that's been presented to the moderna, the
- 15:25Pfizer, the jaw And Johnson the whatever, right?
- 15:28It's all very, very, very new stuff.
- 15:30And I understand where a lot of people are apprehensive and
- 15:33like, no, I'm not going to take that jab.
- 15:35I'm not going to take the job. I'm not gonna get poked, or
- 15:38whatever for something that, you know, they haven't had enough
- 15:41years and years and years and years, and years, and years of
- 15:43testing to prove, right? So I was very skeptical of
- 15:51taking the vaccine and that that is largely due to my upbringing,
- 15:58you know, and how I was born and raised in the kind of an
- 16:03environment that I was raised in.
- 16:06Not a lot of focus or attention or or Value placed on medical
- 16:13doctors and Physicians and things like that.
- 16:15It was we we approach things in a very natural and holistic
- 16:22fashion, you know, a lot of Eastern medicine practices and
- 16:27stuff so you know no synthetic drugs.
- 16:30No. You know, shot.
- 16:32So I wouldn't even take so much as an aspirin for a headache or
- 16:35an ibuprofen for headache. Nothing like that, all my life,
- 16:40all my youth at least into my, you know, early 20s.
- 16:44So there was that. There was all there was like
- 16:46that, that that little thing that hung on the back of my
- 16:48mind, I'm like, you know, I don't need this vaccine, my body
- 16:51will naturally build up antibodies for this thing from
- 16:56being exposed, you know, that's how you Build up immunities.
- 17:01Think that's how your body is designed to function, right?
- 17:04You're you're exposed to certain things, you get sick and then
- 17:07your body at the time is figuring out what to do to fix
- 17:10you, fix you fix the parts that are broken, you know, get you
- 17:13better heal you and so you build up immunity as you build up
- 17:19antibodies against certain things, you know, I grew up
- 17:23working on farms and working out in nature all the time, you
- 17:26know, climbing people's homes. Pairing chimneys and stolen
- 17:30wood, stoves all these kinds of outdoor you know mowing yards
- 17:35shoveling snow like I was Outdoors all the time.
- 17:37I was exposed to a lot of things growing up that I feel just help
- 17:44condition me into being a relatively healthy, young adult,
- 17:49and into n into my later adult years where I'm now mid mid
- 17:54adult years, So I didn't think that the vaccine I needed to do
- 17:58it, you know what I mean? And I'm like, I just, you know,
- 18:01not worried about it. If I get it I get it and it's
- 18:05what happens, whatever. And I was very singular.
- 18:08It was very, very singular. Focus was very selfish Focus.
- 18:11If you think about it, right? Well I'm fine.
- 18:13It's not going to hurt me. I'm healthy me.
- 18:15Me me, you know, I'll be fine blabbity blah.
- 18:22Well. Because I'm Heathen because I'm
- 18:28a heathen that, that follows the path that I do write a large
- 18:33part. That made one of the biggest
- 18:37parts of my belief structure in the way that I believe is that
- 18:43tribe is is where the the heart of heathen realize, right?
- 18:48The heart of heathen, realize at the tribal level at The Grass,
- 18:52Roots level. And what that means is that
- 18:56there is more To my existence than just me, there is the
- 19:03people that are near to me. My wife her parents are near and
- 19:08dear friends are extensions of family, right?
- 19:10Our kith nor kin other clans that we share in Thai weird with
- 19:15that, make up our tribe and As soon as I started to sit back
- 19:26and realize that it's not just about me it's about and
- 19:31protecting me it's not just it's not about that, it's about them
- 19:37and it's about doing what is best for them.
- 19:42You know, and we see examples of this probably most famously in
- 19:48the lore with regards to like tear and how tear is seen as a
- 19:52god Of Justice, right? Action and sacrifice, and
- 19:57sacrifice. That is done for the greater
- 20:00good, for the good of the tribe. You know, Odin himself was as
- 20:04was, his is known for sacrificing himself to himself
- 20:08and yes that is a sacrifice, he gives up you know he gave a died
- 20:14at the well in mirrors well to receive that wisdom or that
- 20:20knowledge and then he hangs himself for major seal.
- 20:23Nine days and nights to receive the power of the knowledge of
- 20:25the runes. So there's a sacrifice but it's
- 20:29a, it's a, it's a sacrifice of himself to himself for something
- 20:33that yes, you can argue and say that throughout the Lord in
- 20:35stories that that those gifts. Those things were used to help
- 20:40the aesir and help his tribe. But they were very much gifts to
- 20:46him for him, like things that he would benefit from greatly.
- 20:49You know, now look at tier, look at the sacrifice that tear gave
- 20:53the thing that Had to sacrifice was his hand.
- 20:56He had nothing to gain. By losing his hand, other than
- 21:03retaining, his honor paying that Shield, paying that debt as a
- 21:06were, paying that recompense for allowing the wolf to be to be
- 21:11bound. And it was a pretty deep thing
- 21:14if you think about it. But, you know, the gift that or
- 21:19the, or the gift, that that's the stat sacrifice, that tear
- 21:22gave. And I'm not trying to compare
- 21:26myself to the gods, but it's almost like to me You know, if I
- 21:31had nothing but myself to consider, then I wouldn't care
- 21:35and I wouldn't have gotten vaccinated but because I had
- 21:40others to consider right. If I'm going to be around other
- 21:43people and be around my elderly in-laws I'm going to be around
- 21:45my infant nieces and nephews you know if I'm gonna be around
- 21:49other people in the community to try to build build more on our
- 21:53tribe 2222. To nurture and grow our
- 21:59community in our area, then it would require me to, you know,
- 22:04again, take that put myself out of the equation, put myself out
- 22:08of the equation for others. So soon as I started thinking of
- 22:12that and I'll never forget this. But as soon as I started
- 22:15thinking of that, my whole approach to things changed, you
- 22:19know, it was, it was like, I'm not, I'm not so concerned about
- 22:22me getting this, this virus or whatever anymore.
- 22:25But I am concerned about being a carrier of it and potentially
- 22:30hurting harming or yeah hurting or harming, someone else that I
- 22:36love and I care about So once that happened it, I said it,
- 22:41never forget. It changed my entire approach.
- 22:43It changed my entire view on this whole thing.
- 22:47It wasn't so much about what is the media say.
- 22:49What is the you know what is fauci say what is you know the
- 22:55who say what are all these organizations?
- 22:57It was a media saying. None of that matters, right?
- 22:59None of that mattered. But a large part in a large
- 23:04portion of, you know, the information that that we were
- 23:06receiving is that this will Not prevent you from getting the
- 23:10virus. That's not what this is about.
- 23:12It's not going to prevent you from getting it but it would
- 23:16Lower the chances of spreading it.
- 23:19And when it does get spread, or as it does get spread, as you as
- 23:22you do, carry it, the the impact that it has would be way less
- 23:26severe than if you were unvaccinated.
- 23:29You know, and I also took the approaches.
- 23:31Okay, what harm is it coming to me?
- 23:33What harm is it doing to me to get vaccinated none?
- 23:36I'm a healthy individual, right? I understand, there are some
- 23:39people who have pre-existing, you know, they are
- 23:42immunocompromised. They have other things that
- 23:43could potentially put them at risk.
- 23:46Higher risk of getting, you know, getting the vaccine versus
- 23:51not getting the vaccine and just staying isolated and staying
- 23:53away. Understand that, take all those
- 23:55things into consideration as we as we as I'm talking about this,
- 23:58and as you're listening, You know, my my condition, my my
- 24:02stance on it was that I am a healthy hearty individual who
- 24:07has nothing to lose from, you know, from from taking this.
- 24:11But I have everything to gain for my people for my loved ones
- 24:16for taking and if I don't take it then it's a neglect on my
- 24:19part of their safety. So I, you know, went through the
- 24:27double Jabs, you know, did the Pfizer, one, whatever?
- 24:31And that was, like I said in the mid 20, 21, something like it
- 24:35was last year. I think it was, it was in the
- 24:37summertime because remember, it was hot matter of fact, my
- 24:40second round my second dose. I didn't have a ride to get to
- 24:46the place where I was going to get vaccinated.
- 24:48Get the second do. So I walked I walked there.
- 24:53Was about. Five miles round trip, maybe
- 24:57nothing long. But anyway, That happened that
- 25:02was at the end of August, beginning of September when I
- 25:04got my second dose. And so Here we are now.
- 25:13Very beginning of 2022. We just had our families.
- 25:18My wife's side of the family, had their Christmas celebration
- 25:22family dinner, whatever the end of December.
- 25:24Of course, our my mother-in-law, my wife's mother, her birthday
- 25:30was was either the day before New Year's Eve or New Jersey.
- 25:34Something like December 30th friend around.
- 25:36There had big, we had a dinner, you know?
- 25:40And then, just a few days ago, We get a group text message from
- 25:47my sister-in-law. Saying that her and her husband
- 25:52have both tested positive for covid.
- 25:56And that everybody needs to get tested.
- 25:59Everybody including my wife myself her cousin, her nephew's.
- 26:04Nice. Her elderly mother and father.
- 26:11And so here we go. Right?
- 26:13We all start making those arrangements and stuff as it
- 26:17stands right now. Her father has covid.
- 26:22Her nephew has covid. Her mother may not sure yet
- 26:28waiting for the test results, come back.
- 26:30I'm not sure yet, because I'm waiting for my test results to
- 26:33come back. My wife was rapid test.
- 26:35If she did the rapid tests and stuff and she's fortunately was
- 26:38- but they'd say that the rapid tests, right are not always 100%
- 26:44accurate. So they always send them off to
- 26:46the lab just for that second test right to make sure that
- 26:50that they got it. So, you know, wait to see in a
- 26:53couple of days when the test results, come back.
- 26:56What that says. So, you know, that time you're
- 26:59listening to this things may change.
- 27:01But as it stands right now, several members of our family
- 27:05who are all, by the way, Who are all fully vaccinated, have the
- 27:12virus. Now one could say, yeah, you see
- 27:17the vaccine doesn't do Jack squat.
- 27:19You know what I mean? Getting the shot doesn't matter.
- 27:22You still got it. Well, true, never once said that
- 27:27the vaccine was going to prevent you from getting it.
- 27:30Well okay let's look at the definition.
- 27:32What a vaccine is located at reader Buster's dictionary all
- 27:35day long, right? Back to the matter is is that
- 27:38whether you get it or not? Well you know they were
- 27:40vaccinated or not whether you get it, it's going to depend on
- 27:42a lot of things. How severe the reactions that
- 27:46you're going to have our You guys even listen to my voice
- 27:51over the last couple of weeks on the podcast and it's raspy, who
- 27:55knows? If I got it?
- 27:56I don't think I do, because I don't feel any other sort of
- 27:58way, I've just got this cough, and I have a fever.
- 28:01My throat's, not scratchy, it's just this upper respiratory
- 28:04thing. And this is indicative of what
- 28:08usually happens to me this time of year in Tennessee, because it
- 28:12goes from 75 degrees. One day to 40, 30 degrees the
- 28:15next day and it's this temperature flux is bipolar as
- 28:17heck. And you know, You're, you're
- 28:20bound to get upper respiratory illnesses and stuff.
- 28:23It's like Tennessee is the worst state to be subject to things at
- 28:30will. Mess with you like that, right?
- 28:35So anyway, why am I bringing all this up?
- 28:39What does this have to do with Heathen?
- 28:40Or you ask? What does it have to do with?
- 28:44Anything, you know, Heathen views on whatever?
- 28:49I mentioned before about the importance of community and that
- 28:53for me, he even re is going to thrive and continue to live and
- 28:58Thrive at the tribal level. And that tribe is everything in
- 29:00that tribe needs to be needs to grow out of your family, out of
- 29:06your kin out of your kiss. That's where tribe comes from.
- 29:09It's an organic growth out of those things that are already
- 29:12established. You have to nurture, you can't,
- 29:15you can't nurture something that is dying and you can't.
- 29:19You know, have that kind of growth if you don't have the
- 29:26opportunity to nurture it. And so I looked at it as this,
- 29:29right? I can't meet new people, I can't
- 29:32be a part of things in the community, if I'm not taking
- 29:34precautions to the best of my ability, you know?
- 29:39And for me, getting vaccinated was the best of my ability to
- 29:43keep other people around me. Safe, not just myself because I
- 29:47could care less what I want. Keep everyone else as safe as I
- 29:50can and I don't want to be the one that you know is responsible
- 29:54for infecting others. Now, this is where it get.
- 29:59This is where it's going to get a bit heated on my part because
- 30:05When we were over at my, you know, in-laws place during the
- 30:10holidays, and when we had our dinner, they knew they knew that
- 30:14they had been exposed least my sister mod that she knew that
- 30:17she had been exposed to somebody at her job who tested positive
- 30:22and rad covid. And she refrain from telling us
- 30:27until just the other day like two days ago. you know, so for
- 30:34the last week and a half We've all been floating around hugging
- 30:40on each other, wishing each other.
- 30:43Happy Holidays, happy New Year, happy birthday this, and that
- 30:47right? Without any knowledge about it,
- 30:51except for her. She knew she kept that from the
- 30:55family. She kept that from us, you know,
- 30:58and I can't say for sure why someone would have such a
- 31:04Blatant. Disregard of common sense to say
- 31:07something that important to your family, to your family, to your
- 31:13loved ones, you stand there and you hug me and you tell me that
- 31:16you love me. And then you refrain from
- 31:19telling me and the rest of us that you've been exposed to
- 31:23covid. Not knowing if you got it yet,
- 31:26but that you've been exposed, don't you think in the frickin
- 31:30base common sense of everybody's skull to do the basic things?
- 31:34Is that allow us to be more intelligent than Apes?
- 31:39That you would tell somebody this.
- 31:40That you would tell them that it's possible.
- 31:43I have covid. I've been exposed.
- 31:45Let's not have a holiday dinner. Let's not have a big dinner with
- 31:49everybody for the birthday. Let's postpone it.
- 31:51Let's just not do it whatever you know.
- 31:56Kind of idiot. Do you have to be what kind of
- 31:58mental case? Are you?
- 32:03To keep that information from your loved ones and you have the
- 32:05audacity to stand there. Look me in the eye.
- 32:10Look me in the face and Brace me.
- 32:13Tell me that you love me. That isn't love.
- 32:18You know, I don't care if you don't care, if you were waiting
- 32:22to see if you were positive or not waiting for the test results
- 32:25to come back. Because that ain't no good
- 32:28enough. Excuse man.
- 32:29That's not a good enough. Excuse.
- 32:32I'ma tell you right now, my tribe.
- 32:35In 10 days has arriola Bateson our, you'll Feast our annual
- 32:40you'll fees coming up. And if me, or anybody else
- 32:46that's coming was exposed to covid and knows about it.
- 32:50They're gonna know, we're not going to have our thing.
- 32:53We're not going to have AR get together, that's just it, right?
- 32:56Because I'm not going to put anybody at risk.
- 33:00I'm not going to put anybody In Harm's Way, just for the sake of
- 33:05A party. And it's an important one.
- 33:07Right? It's more than just a party.
- 33:09It's a very important pivotal thing for us.
- 33:14But I'm not going to put anyone at risk.
- 33:17You know if you know until you look back to the matter is I
- 33:20don't know if I have it. I could get a call tomorrow or
- 33:23an email tomorrow or Friday, you know, whenever and and it says
- 33:27that you tested positive, you got a quarantine for 10 days or
- 33:30whatever. Guess what?
- 33:32You'll you are not doing our. You'll thing guys, sorry.
- 33:37Well, postpone, it will move it to the week after will have it
- 33:39after whatever the case, maybe we'll do what we need to keep
- 33:43people safe but I'm not gonna keep that from people just so we
- 33:46can have our get together. You guys how irresponsible it
- 33:49is, how much of a breach of frith but that is, I've talked
- 33:53about first on this podcast, a number of times before, right?
- 33:56Guys, and I've said that frith is more than just being all
- 33:59happy-go-lucky peace and love and getting along.
- 34:05Fourth is about trust. Fourth is about obligation for
- 34:12it is about love and it's about maintaining peace but it's about
- 34:15all those other things that I already mentioned.
- 34:19That. You are obligated to each other
- 34:22like that. Like it's like an unspoken an
- 34:26unspoken rule. It's an unspoken oath.
- 34:31Almost, you know that you will. do what it takes to keep the
- 34:36frith and then to maintain that frizz and what a freaking breach
- 34:41of Faith was this Manta to I just can't get away from
- 34:47realizing that I was standing there.
- 34:49Giving you a hug. You gave me a hug.
- 34:51You told me. You loved me.
- 34:52And I told you that I loved you. And you knew that you were
- 34:56exposed. You didn't have the common
- 34:58sense. You don't have the mental
- 35:00presence. The tell us ahead of time and
- 35:06now look what's happened. You got your family, infected.
- 35:12Your 74 year-old 73 74 year old, father is ill.
- 35:18And as we all know this particular sickness, it can be
- 35:23pretty rough on the elderly. you know, your young nephew is sick,
- 35:32my wife, watches children, Runs a daycare.
- 35:40If you could have been exposed, she could have gotten those kids
- 35:42sick. We don't know what those kids
- 35:44that she watches. The kind of immuno compromised,
- 35:48is that they they may have right?
- 35:52See how it all trickle was down and all for what off because you
- 35:56don't want to. Miss a holiday dinner.
- 36:01And again, I can't say that. That was the case.
- 36:03I can't say that she consciously was like, oh, I better not say
- 36:05anything until I know or she's just so stupid that she didn't
- 36:08realize it. I'm thinking it's probably the
- 36:10latter. But man.
- 36:16So, the whole thing like what, how does this, you know, relate
- 36:19to Heathen reorder? That's how it relates to
- 36:22Heathen. Ryu, look out for your people.
- 36:24You look out for your tribe, you look out for your clan.
- 36:29You look out for your folk. You look out for your people,
- 36:32you take care of them and you do the thing that is going to Be
- 36:37safe for them, even if it means. A sacrifice for yourself.
- 36:46And I mean, you know, this is this is one of those things man.
- 36:52Wear Went forth is breached. You know, there's always now
- 36:59what, you know, can it be repaired and the Damage that was
- 37:03done be fixed. Is there anything that can be
- 37:06done to remedy this? And I and men that that Torn
- 37:12Thread and when you talk about stuff like this, I mean, I don't
- 37:22know. And now, some people may say,
- 37:25you know, while you're overreacting, Jesse, you know,
- 37:27you're overreacting, everybody's, you know, you're
- 37:29going to get sick and, you know, things are going to happen.
- 37:32I get that, I understand. As a matter of fact, I firmly
- 37:36believe that this virus is going to just be like another annual
- 37:43flu thing, right? Just like you can get the option
- 37:46to take your flu shot every year.
- 37:47Take the flu vaccine every year. This is going to be that you're
- 37:51going to get the option to be vaccinated every year for covid.
- 37:54Just like you can for the flu just for the for the common flu.
- 38:00This ain't going anywhere. So we say, oh, I'm just going to
- 38:03get it. And then, I'll build up my body
- 38:05will build natural antibodies antibodies to, you know, combat
- 38:08the virus. Sure.
- 38:10Go, right ahead. I mean, I don't get the flu
- 38:12vaccine every year. Matter of fact, I can't tell
- 38:14you. The last time I was, I opted to
- 38:16get the flu vaccine. It's been that long decades.
- 38:21I would say, yeah. The Lisa at least over a decade.
- 38:29I don't remember the last time I got the flu vaccine have I ever
- 38:33gotten the flu. Not that I know of.
- 38:36I had pneumonia a couple of times in my life.
- 38:41You know, as a very young child or infant as a child and then
- 38:44once in my adult years, it was walking pneumonia and how that
- 38:50could be what I got right now? I don't know.
- 38:51I don't kill, get checked out. I just take care of myself, the
- 38:54best that I can, that's me, but I also, you know, went to get
- 38:59tested when I found out that I was exposed to something that
- 39:02could potentially be spread to others and impact them
- 39:06negatively hurt them, people that I love people and I want to
- 39:09be, you know, Continuing my life with and preserving my life with
- 39:15right. So I guess what I'm trying to
- 39:21say is, first of all, don't be an idiot and if you've been
- 39:27exposed or you think you've been exposed or somebody around, you
- 39:30said I have I've been exposed to Let your people know, right?
- 39:34Don't be complacent about this whole thing, let your people
- 39:38know get tested. It's free.
- 39:42You know, you may wait in line, you may have to get a make an
- 39:44appointment right, but just check yourself.
- 39:49Get yourself checked for the love of the people around you
- 39:51for the well-being of your loved ones.
- 39:53And all you've got is yourself and you don't care.
- 39:57I mean, everybody's free to do what they want to rest in here
- 39:59telling anybody that they have to do one thing or the other.
- 40:01I'm not I'm just giving you guys my insight my perspective on
- 40:06this whole thing and how pissed off I've been over and it's been
- 40:12a while since I've been this royally mad about something just
- 40:17because I don't let things get to me too badly but when it
- 40:20comes to tribe man when it comes to my family, when it comes to
- 40:23Ken and comes to that sort of thing, it I get fighting mad
- 40:29about it. You know.
- 40:34And the crazy thing is, you know, this whole group text
- 40:36that's going around with, with members of the family.
- 40:40You know, the person who's the reason why we're all in this
- 40:43predicament to begin with is trying to tell people what to do
- 40:48to get out. Take your vitamin C, drink,
- 40:50plenty of water, get out, walk around it, shut up.
- 40:54It's your fault that we're here. It's your fault that we're doing
- 40:56so much. You sit down and learn a thing
- 40:58or two yourself to try to tell other people what to do.
- 41:01You got no freaking right. You know.
- 41:06And I'm not apologetic about that.
- 41:07People might be like oh, you know, gotta go easy.
- 41:10You know, it was a mistake. We've been dealing with this
- 41:14thing for the last two years now.
- 41:15Almost Where's your common sense?
- 41:19Where's your brain at? Where's your head?
- 41:22In or not thinking. You know, it's tough like this
- 41:26where I feel that shame is is absolutely warranted.
- 41:33Yeah, she should be ashamed of herself and she should be felt
- 41:37she should be made to feel shame.
- 41:44Oh, there it is. There's my harsh first podcast
- 41:51of of season 3. What a way to kick it off.
- 41:54Huh? What a way to kick it off.
- 41:56So let's end it on a good note, right?
- 41:58What has happened recently that we can end on a good note with
- 42:04like I said you loved it was coming up art our tribes.
- 42:07You will see sweet. We hold our, you'll celebration
- 42:12all around the traditional historical.
- 42:15You'll When I say traditional historical and talking about
- 42:20when the Germanic tribes celebrated, you'll that we know
- 42:24of historically, prior to the christianisation, period, prior
- 42:27to the Viking age prior to win. Scandinavia in all these other
- 42:33Germanic areas were converted to Christianity.
- 42:36When would during this like the time of haakon the good when
- 42:40you'll was moved to December 25th time, I way before, then.
- 42:45So we hold our, you'll as close to the historical date of when
- 42:51Ewell was held and briefly, right?
- 42:56You'll was held on the first full moon after the sorry, the
- 43:03third full moon after the was it.
- 43:07It was held on the 3rd full moon after the last new moon of
- 43:15winter solstice, so that that makes sense. you're going to
- 43:23have to really gain, but basically, when winter nights,
- 43:28when winter nights was held, typically sometime in around,
- 43:31october/november, somewhere around there, when that full
- 43:34moon hit, After that new moon, it was three full moons
- 43:42thereafter. So, it falls on a different.
- 43:44It's lunar base, right? So, it falls on a different day,
- 43:48every year, I think, last year, it was towards the end of
- 43:53January, and then this year it's January, the full moon falls, on
- 43:57January 17th, which is like a Monday or something during the
- 44:02week. It's weird.
- 44:03So we're holding ours going to be planning to hold hours.
- 44:07Are you a feast on on the Teeth, which is a weekend Saturday.
- 44:10Yes, it's a couple of days before the full moon, but we're
- 44:14close enough for right around it.
- 44:15And the weekend just works better for everybody in modern
- 44:20diet in modern times, you know, and in modern day, we got to
- 44:22kind of work around every each other's bit.
- 44:24You know, busy lives work schedules, when where you can
- 44:27get time off, that sort of thing.
- 44:30So, and we're going to have, you know, a bloat of sorts to the
- 44:36gods before our feast. And then after Feast, we
- 44:38typically, Would you know, do some gift giving and then sambal
- 44:44we hold a symbol ritual where we allow members of the tribe to
- 44:50you know give toasts boasts. And if they Cho choose, Oaths,
- 44:56Around the Horn, around the cup, we do ours, a little bit
- 45:01differently than maybe other people do, but we have a pretty
- 45:07solid structure. And to our sambal.
- 45:11And is it? Exactly?
- 45:13100% like sambal was held historically?
- 45:17No not exactly. But the reason that we don't
- 45:21100% keep to that particular things because of the members of
- 45:26the tribe who are involved to that capacity.
- 45:29You know that are maybe just not comfortable with being a part of
- 45:32it, in that sort of way. So we find other ways around it.
- 45:37But it is, you know, it is, we do keep it indoors which is kind
- 45:41of a requirement for sambal. You have to be indoors.
- 45:43We do have a central cup or horn that we You know, work over
- 45:49speak over. That sort of thing.
- 45:52We've done a couple different ways over the years, but the
- 45:55last year, we had really good success with the way that we did
- 45:59it. And we're going to continue
- 46:00that. We're going to make a slight
- 46:01modification to it this this year, but it's going to be done
- 46:06in a way that kind of is an odd or in a Maj to the historical,
- 46:12historically documented way of how it was done.
- 46:16I did a podcast. Actually, a long time ago, like
- 46:20during season one, when things weren't, even when it before, it
- 46:23was random even ramblings. It was just who I want to make a
- 46:26podcast and I'm just going to go call it midgard, musings,
- 46:29whatever, I did something on sambal.
- 46:34A while back matter. So if you like go through my
- 46:39catalog, my podcast catalog and you'll have to do that.
- 46:44It's like, it's not I'm here on YouTube, but it's in all the
- 46:47other podcast platforms if you just look through there.
- 46:50And it's like, it's how to stumble and that's like a part.
- 46:54One, two or three. I think it's, at least a two
- 46:56part. Podcast.
- 47:01Check it out. It's there are some things that
- 47:04I need to probably go back and revisit But it's pretty close.
- 47:10It's pretty close after Consulting with some very
- 47:13reputable sources that know the source material, you know, on
- 47:20how someone was done historically and having those
- 47:23Books themselves, some of those. Some of them tear like, you
- 47:26know, lady lady with the meat Cup and the meat.
- 47:32All some of those books are really hard to come by or if you
- 47:35can find them there like astronomical and their price.
- 47:41But anyway, rambled on a bit longer than I expected to about
- 47:44that. But anyways, that's some good
- 47:45things that we have looking forward to coming up.
- 47:48Assuming everybody is healthy and able to to attend safely,
- 47:52you know. So we're going to do that.
- 47:55My wife and I just finished giving each other gifts earlier
- 47:59this evening that we had under our tree.
- 48:03We still have, you know, members of the tribes gifts there for
- 48:07our event that we're going to give to them.
- 48:09But I got some nice beard oil. I could use all the help that I
- 48:16can get. So she got me some nice, you
- 48:18know, beard oils. Scott me Beowulf, the The The
- 48:23Saga Beowulf, The Saga. She got me a book that I've been
- 48:29wanting for quite some time, it's called Lund know, my book.
- 48:33It's about the settlers and And Iceland in and stuff.
- 48:41And being, it's a really reputable Source material for
- 48:45understanding like the Land claiming land, taking ceremonies
- 48:50things that were done prior to Christian times and Iceland and
- 48:54then some of the historical foundings of of Iceland and
- 48:59stuff like that. So I'm looking forward to
- 49:00reading that got this really neat Funko, Pop thing, not a big
- 49:07collector by any means. But let me let me kill my sister
- 49:11from Motorhead, right? She got me to, he was bronze
- 49:14Funko, Pop thing that she got me.
