- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39When people ask me what kind of person I was like when I was a
- 0:42child, what kind of child was I like?
- 0:44What kind of teenager was I like?
- 0:47I would say I was a shy, introverted, nervous child and I
- 0:52don't really consider myself shy or nervous these days, but I do
- 0:57still consider myself introverted.
- 1:00Introversion, I think is a personality trait, whereas
- 1:03nervousness is linked to anxiety, and shyness quite often
- 1:07is a lack of confidence. This hypnosis session is all
- 1:11about reducing nervousness and reducing anxiety and helping
- 1:16people feel more calm. And that's because I was working
- 1:19with a client that was very, very hyper vigilant.
- 1:24They were on edge. I could tell from their
- 1:26mannerisms, their breathing rate, they were in a state of
- 1:30high alert and that's useful in certain contexts, but it's not
- 1:34useful all the time. It's exhausting and it's very
- 1:38difficult to relax and sleep if you're in this high alert state.
- 1:43So this is a hypnosis session to reduce nervousness, to reduce
- 1:47anxiety and to feel more confident and to feel more calm.
- 1:51You will get more value out of this if you can think of the
- 1:55kind of environments that it would be helpful for you to be
- 1:59more calm. I want you to think of maybe
- 2:01just one or two consistent triggers for nervousness.
- 2:05Now, for some people, that might be a job interview or a first
- 2:08date, or it might be an appraisal at work, or it might
- 2:12be speaking in public. Think of something where you get
- 2:16nervous, and then by just thinking about that, we're
- 2:18activating that neural pathway. So then when you listen to the
- 2:21session, you're going to get much more value from the
- 2:24suggestions in the neuroplasticity.
- 2:27If you do want a customized session, because this was
- 2:31calibrated to the client that I was working with, there will be
- 2:34a link in the description where you can schedule a completely
- 2:36free consultation call. We'll have a chat, and maybe we
- 2:39end up working together. For now, though, you might get
- 2:42some value from this one. So find a quiet, comfortable
- 2:44place, ideally in the kind of environment where you're not
- 2:47going to be distracted or disturbed.
- 2:49Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 3:24breathe in, breathe in that feeling of calm relaxation and
- 3:34as you exhale, feel that wonderful feeling of release, as
- 3:44if any tension, stress and worries are starting to leave
- 3:51your body. In your outward breath,
- 3:57breathing in relaxation and exhaling tension.
- 4:07Each breath takes you deeper and and deeper relaxed.
- 4:19In fact, the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you feel and
- 4:26the more relaxed you feel the deeper you breathe.
- 4:32And as you exhale, just elongate the outward breath.
- 4:41So your outward breath last longer than your inward breath,
- 4:47almost like you're sending a message there directly to your
- 4:55brain and your body, that it is safe to calm down and
- 5:03recalibrate. As your body relaxes, your
- 5:13imagination awakens. And I want you to imagine being
- 5:21on a quiet, private, peaceful shore of Lake MI.
- 5:28And I want you to imagine there's been recent storms and
- 5:33high winds, and I want you to see choppy waves and Gray skies,
- 5:44noisy waves crashing. And I want you to allow the
- 5:55volatility, the busyness of the waves to represent those times
- 6:04where you felt your brain was overthinking, hyper vigilant,
- 6:12doing too much. But as you breathe in that
- 6:19feeling of relaxation and exhale that tension, your breathing
- 6:28slows down and the waves start to calm.
- 6:35And as they calm, you feel more and more relaxed until after
- 6:49just a few breaths, the Gray skies are now blue skies and the
- 6:58choppy waves are now calm waters on the lake.
- 7:07And I wonder if you could imagine that you're wearing
- 7:10whatever clothing is appropriate to enjoy the water and just
- 7:17imagine a large, stable inflatable.
- 7:25And I want you to imagine climbing on top of that
- 7:29inflatable and paddling out there in the lake.
- 7:35And maybe you could imagine feeling the warmth of the sun on
- 7:38your back, that subtle rise and fall of the inflatable beneath
- 7:46you. Imagine lying on your front,
- 7:50watching the water, clear blue shimmering with light.
- 7:59And maybe you can notice how the ripples move, how the
- 8:04reflections dance and shift, and how you're breathing naturally
- 8:12synchronizes with the rhythm of the lake.
- 8:19And notice how it takes no effort at all, because your body
- 8:25knows how to relax here. Your nervous system recognizes
- 8:32this place as calm, safe, and peaceful, and as you float, your
- 8:45muscles relax, your mind slows, and your whole system drifts
- 8:53into a deeper state of quiet inner awareness.
- 9:00Each ripple, each ray of light takes you further into ease, and
- 9:11the calmer you feel, the more your unconscious mind becomes
- 9:19open and responsive, ready to access exactly the resources you
- 9:31need. And I wonder if you could
- 9:37imagine the gentle warmth of the sun soothing the muscles of your
- 9:43back, melting down through the shoulders, all the way into your
- 9:49chest and down your legs. And every wave of warmth tells
- 9:55your nervous system you are safe.
- 10:01You can soften. You can let go, and as the body
- 10:08relaxes, the mind becomes clearer, quieter and even more
- 10:16capable. And sometimes you can drift off
- 10:23into a dreamlike sleep. So in this calm state, your
- 10:31unconscious can bring to mind a moment in your life when you
- 10:36faced a real challenge. Not a small inconvenience, but
- 10:46something meaningful. Something that demanded courage,
- 10:51action, resourcefulness. And allow that memory, that
- 10:58moment to surface now and imagine you can see where you
- 11:04were, hear what was around you, and notice the version of you
- 11:13that showed up. Perhaps you didn't feel ready,
- 11:18and perhaps you were nervous then as well.
- 11:24But you acted. You moved, you decided, and you
- 11:33made progress. And because you did, the
- 11:41situation changed. And because you acted, your
- 11:47world expanded. And because you took
- 11:53responsibility, you overcame the challenge and just let that
- 12:02memory replay not as a distant event, but as evidence that you
- 12:11are capable of meeting challenges.
- 12:15You have already done difficult things.
- 12:20You already know how to do this. Step into that version of you,
- 12:29resourceful in that memory, and feel that resourcefulness.
- 12:34Come back online now. The strength, the clarity, the
- 12:44capability. And now, as you float on the
- 12:51water, you can begin to give nervousness a new meaning.
- 13:03What if nervousness is not a warning of danger?
- 13:08It's either a false signal or it's a signal of growth, a sign
- 13:16that you are at the edge of your comfort zone, the very place
- 13:22where expansion happens. Nervousness in your system is
- 13:31switching off. Resourcefulness is switching on,
- 13:37preparing you, activating you, sharpening your senses for
- 13:43something important. What if nervousness is just a
- 13:50body saying you're stepping into something meaningful you're
- 13:56about to learn, grow, and become more?
- 14:02What if it's not a barrier, but a threshold, and every time you
- 14:08do something that makes you nervous, you are stretching the
- 14:14boundaries of what your brain thinks you can handle.
- 14:22Your comfort zone expands and your confidence grows in this
- 14:31meaning, Nervousness becomes a compass pointing you towards the
- 14:38next version of yourself. And the more you understand
- 14:45this, the calmer you become. Your nervous system stops
- 14:52reacting as if something is wrong and starts responding as
- 14:59if something important is unfolding.
- 15:08Feel calmness spreading through you now.
- 15:11Steady, grounded, centred. Calmness in your breath,
- 15:18calmness in your thoughts, and even calmness in your body.
- 15:26And beneath that calmness, A deeper truth.
- 15:31You can handle this. You've handled things before,
- 15:39and you will handle things again.
- 15:45And now let's move to the future.
- 15:49I wonder if you could imagine yourself in the near future, in
- 15:54a situation that once made you nervous.
- 15:59I wonder if you can imagine yourself standing or sitting
- 16:02there, breathing steadily, grounded, clear, capable.
- 16:13Watch yourself respond differently, More calm, more
- 16:17confident, more resourceful, more in control.
- 16:25And notice how your nervous system stays balanced, how the
- 16:31thoughts stay organized, and how your actions flow naturally.
- 16:41Imagine yourself moving through that moment with poise, and
- 16:47afterwards feel the pride, the satisfaction, and the evidence
- 16:54that every time you lean into nervousness, you are disproving
- 17:05false evaluations and you are expanding who you are and you're
- 17:11becoming someone stronger, calmer and more capable.
- 17:17Every time that you do and step into that future version of you
- 17:23merge with yourself, becoming the new baseline, the new
- 17:27normal, the new identity. And then imagine floating back,
- 17:41back from the lake on that inflatable, back to the shore.
- 17:46But feel calmer, recalibrated, more resourceful, questioning
- 17:56whether things that make you nervous or even real evaluations
- 18:00or just false assumptions, false evidence that appears real.
- 18:07Isn't it time to call the bluff on all of these things that you
- 18:12thought were true but perhaps weren't?
- 18:21Imagine floating back from the shore all the way back to the
- 18:26present as you take a deep breath in through your nose and
- 18:31out through your nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 18:36your toes, connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I
- 18:43now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 18:49Starting to count 123 starting to wake 456.
- 18:57More alert 7-8. Open your eyes, open your eyes,
- 19:01910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
