- 0:00They're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:01Why not put it in one of the top three offensive players in the
- 0:13league? We're going to be looking at
- 0:14Aaron Judge and saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:17Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:20You don't see the one doing that.
- 0:21A game where you got to go for four.
- 0:24I told you Giant fans and Saquon Barkley this.
- 1:26You're listening to Jabba and the mouth.
- 1:28Mouth. Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:32No more snow, ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:34Stay away, Santa. Well, that's December.
- 1:37This isn't Christmas. We're in February.
- 1:40We're heading to March. Hopefully no more snow here in
- 1:43Long Island, New York, as the city is taking the brute of the
- 1:49winter on as we have been saying it.
- 1:52You're listening to Jabba and the Mouth.

- 2:35for all our shows is go to our website at
- 2:38www.worldwidesportsradio.com. So here's the situation, ladies
- 2:44and gentlemen. Tomorrow I have to fast for 30.
- 2:49So I started to fast last night at 12 midnight.
- 2:53I got to fast from 12:00 now to 2:00 in the afternoon tomorrow.
- 3:00So think about this. That's over 38 hours of fasting,
- 3:04no food, only liquids. Now, I know there's a lot of
- 3:08people that have dealt, dealt with this and done this.
- 3:11I mean, in the Indiana Indian culture, they do it once, I
- 3:15think it's once a year, once a week, where they only drink
- 3:18liquids. They don't eat.
- 3:20So they got a drink. They only can drink liquids for
- 3:22a week. I don't know what it's called,
- 3:24but whatever. So I, I feel for those people.
- 3:29I do, I feel for them. But the fact here is, yeah, why
- 3:33do you have to do that Fish? You got to make me look at food.
- 3:36I get sick just really realizing that I'm never going to be able
- 3:40to eat. I feel like I'm never going to
- 3:42eat again. But that's.
- 3:45Not food, Errol, that's what you had to paint do finger painting
- 3:49with. I gave you a paintbrush though.
- 3:50OK, well thank you. Well look like food so it made
- 3:54me a little bit hungry so. Sorry to get you hungry.
- 3:56Yeah, well, I told you you're going to do this one one way or
- 3:59another tonight. But I, the whole problem here is
- 4:04I got to wait 363036 to 38 hours to, to do this to, to get this
- 4:09procedure. By the time I eat, it'll be
- 4:11probably 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon.
- 4:15So I am, you know, it's funny because I was talking to fish
- 4:18early this morning and he was telling me.
- 4:20I could only imagine how angry you're going to be on the show
- 4:23because you're probably going to be craving food.
- 4:25And I, and I will tell you guys that there is a possibility at
- 4:29some point tonight, I'm going to probably RIP this mic off this
- 4:33stand because I am extremely hungry right now.
- 4:37And it's not like I've never fasted before.
- 4:39It's just when you're being told that you can't eat, it makes you
- 4:43even want to eat more. It's it's not that I've never
- 4:45done this before, It's just the fact that I know I can't eat.
- 4:49It pisses me off. That's all I'm going to say.
- 4:52So expect a little craziness on the show tonight like it always
- 4:56is. I I've always been crazy on the
- 4:58show, so I don't kick back on any of the crazy stuff that I do
- 5:01anyways. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 5:03we got a new segment. We call this concrete jungle.
- 5:08Welcome to the jungle. We got fun and games.
- 5:11You know where you are, jungle baby.
- 5:16Welcome. I'm trying to put Tiger Bomb on
- 5:18this jungle's nuts to the concrete jungle carousel.
- 5:29We got the concrete jungle carousel.
- 5:31We're going to go around all of the sports in the biz right now,
- 5:37starting off with the only well, actually, we're going to start
- 5:40off with basketball. We will get the hockey a little
- 5:42bit later, but here we go. Nixon Nets starting it off the
- 5:45Knicks stumble out of the All Star break.
- 5:48You just mentioned in some of it, so we'll start there.
- 5:50They got blown out by the Pistons at home 1/26 1:11 their
- 5:54first game out of the break. Kate Cunningham monster game.
- 5:58You know, there's a mini story out there, Errol, that it could
- 6:01be Luca. Luca.
- 6:03Well, Luca too actually, but Jokic and Shay might not be able
- 6:07to play enough games to be eligible for the MVP.
- 6:10And there's a lot of people putting money on Kade right now
- 6:13while he's still around to 1 to get the MVP because he would be
- 6:17the next guy if they're ineligible.
- 6:19Cade's killing it right now. He's killed the Knicks every
- 6:21time. The Knicks have gotten swept by
- 6:23the Pistons this season. 3 O in the regular season.
- 6:27They had a huge comeback against the Rockets After that, they
- 6:30were down 18, down as much as 25 at one point in that game.
- 6:34Storm back. I showed some of the highlights
- 6:35of it while you in the last segment.
- 6:37Jaylen Brunson had a clutch just doing Jaylen Brunson things.
- 6:41Clutch win. But then they didn't show up
- 6:43against Cleveland. Looks like James Harden broke
- 6:45his hand in that game. But it looks, I think he's
- 6:48day-to-day. He's actually not.
- 6:49It's just a fracture. Squeeze the T He's going.
- 6:51To be out. But the Knicks did not shoot
- 6:54well. Everyone had a bad shooting day,
- 6:55Brunson included. And Cat is just not putting the
- 6:59ball in the whole arrow. I disagree with you.
- 7:03Cat, before the Cavaliers game was playing good basketball.
- 7:06He was averaged 20, almost 20 and 10.
- 7:08So I disagree with you. I think Cat has played better
- 7:11since he came back from the All Star break.
- 7:13Here's the problem right now with the Knicks.
- 7:15These guys are being a lot of the players are inconsistent.
- 7:18Mikhail Bridges is inconsistent. He had 19 shots against
- 7:22Cleveland. Cavaliers only hit five of them.
- 7:24If you're inconsistent, you're not going to find ways to win
- 7:27against teams that are just as good as you, especially with the
- 7:30Cavaliers in their bench. You need to play up to your
- 7:33team's competitive nature. And the Knicks haven't against
- 7:36the talented teams that they, no, they played well against
- 7:39Houston, but they, they're, they're the really, Detroit has
- 7:43dogged them. And now you, you can tell that
- 7:45some of their competition is playing higher and better than
- 7:49the New York Knicks are. The Knicks have to play, I think
- 7:52more, more. They have to be more defensively
- 7:54sound. They got to be better on the
- 7:56boards offensively, and they got to do more on the defensive side
- 7:59of the ball in the most important parts of the game.
- 8:02At the tail end of the game, especially in the fourth quarter
- 8:05with 5 minutes left, the, the Knicks are giving too many easy
- 8:08buckets, too many easy threes. This team has been one of the
- 8:11best 3 point shooter teams at 3 point teams in in all of the
- 8:15NBA. Offensively they're probably the
- 8:17best offensive team in the NBA and even in defense they're
- 8:21ranked I think 8th or 9th right now in all of the NBA.
- 8:24But here's the thing, how many points do they give up in the
- 8:27tail end of games when it comes down to the Minnie and the
- 8:30gritty? That's the problem with the
- 8:31Knicks. It has nothing to do with Carl
- 8:33Anthony. He needs to show up in the big
- 8:35game. I disagree with you.
- 8:36I think Carl has played better since the All Star break since
- 8:39the Detroit game, so I disagree. The last two years the Knicks
- 8:42have been one of the few teams in the NBA that have been both
- 8:44top ten and offensive and defensive efficiency and it just
- 8:47needs to be a little more consistent with the three-point
- 8:49shooting especially. That was a big thing that hurt
- 8:51them against the Cavs. OG Ananobi's been mostly
- 8:53efficient this year but has had his lows.
- 8:55But British, like you said, is the main one.
- 8:56I think that has to really get going.
- 8:58Towns, yeah, he'll have his lows, but I agree with you
- 9:00mostly. Still good after the All Star
- 9:01break. Just got to fix that defense and
- 9:03the Knicks have to just get this depth to sync up.
- 9:04Again, he's never going to fix his defense because he's not a
- 9:07defensive player and I don't want to hear it from Knick fans
- 9:10crying about it. If you want a defensive player,
- 9:12you trade him in the offseason, you're bringing Giannis.
- 9:14That's the only way you're going to fix the problem they have.
- 9:17If you want him as a starter or make Mitchell Robertson the
- 9:20starter and and make Karl Anthony Towns the four make call
- 9:244, make Mitch 5. That's the way I go.
- 9:27I mean, that's the only way I would go if that's the case.
- 9:30But they're worried about time. They're worried about see what
- 9:33they do. They actually played the the
- 9:34Bulls in that span 2 and murdered them.
- 9:36But the Bulls have given up in general on this traded away
- 9:41Vujovic recently. You're right, he's he's done
- 9:43better. But you know, in the two games
- 9:45that they lost to the number one and I guess their other
- 9:48competition besides the Celtics and the east 13 pointer in both
- 9:52games. This guy needs to be putting up
- 9:54the three for them if they're going to be good offensively.
- 9:57It's just, you know, he's really important.
- 10:00Here's like they they undersell how important he is.
- 10:02Here's the thing, I think they need to play more to Karl
- 10:06Anthony Towns and less to Jaylen Brunson in certain games.
- 10:09If you get Karl Anthony Towns more involved in the game.
- 10:12And I want to give a shout out to Koran because that's what we
- 10:14were talking about on his show, The Blue and Orange Brunch.
- 10:18I, we went back and forth and and we believe and I, I agree
- 10:22with Koran cold heartedly that they have to run their offense
- 10:26Drew Carl Anthony Towns if they want to be a championship team.
- 10:31They cannot play that isolation basketball all game long with
- 10:35Jaylen Bronson. They have to every time they
- 10:37bring Carl Anthony Towns and make him the pin of the offense,
- 10:41you can see that they're a different team.
- 10:43That's all I'm saying. More Carl Anthony Towns, less of
- 10:46Jaylen Bronson. All right, let's move on to
- 10:49baseball offseason news. Starting to get into the
- 10:53pitchers and catchers we've got, that is long gone.
- 10:55We are now up to a whole bunch of preseason games before we get
- 10:59into the Yankees and Mets. This number 1 prospect the
- 11:02Pirates have, I don't know if you saw the home runs, he had
- 11:06two bombs. This kids crazy Connor Griffin.
- 11:08Connor with AK, pay attention to that name.
- 11:11But starting off Yankees, Mets guys, the Yankees have this DH
- 11:17that they traded for Derek Jeter gave them to us.
- 11:19His name is Giancarlo Stanton Errol.
- 11:22He can't open a bag of chips without pain.
- 11:25He has really, really bad bilateral elbow weakness.
- 11:30Still 2 years into this apparently debilitating
- 11:34condition that he thinks, and apparently is because he swings
- 11:37the bat too damn hard, he says he's going to tough it out.
- 11:40He's still eyeing 162 games season.
- 11:43He's never played more than 150 with the Yankees.
- 11:45It was his first season with them.
- 11:47It's obvious he decided not to have surgery to clean out the
- 11:50tendons in his elbows. Probably wouldn't have been
- 11:53great coming back from that. I guess he's playing out the
- 11:56string and that's going to call it a day.
- 11:58Well, the string needs to be cut, ladies and gentlemen, I
- 12:01honestly don't believe Giancarlo Stanton is going to play more
- 12:05than 100 games this year. His elbows are really, really
- 12:08bad all season long. Back and forth on the ILII just
- 12:11can't see it. I know he wants to believe that
- 12:13he's the same player and same young player.
- 12:16But even even when the Yankees went to the World Series a
- 12:19couple of years ago, when he took off his hat, when they they
- 12:21got in the AL East and and they won the AL East against the
- 12:25Cleveland Guardians. He looks older now.
- 12:27He's got the body, body of all like a, I don't even know, like
- 12:31some supermodel, but he his, his body's breaking down.
- 12:35When you're playing 162 games and you're as big as him and as
- 12:38strong as him and he swings the bat as fast and as hard as him.
- 12:42Eventually stuff start to go on your body and his elbows are
- 12:47going. It just he, the way he works
- 12:49out. I don't know if anybody's
- 12:50watched Giancarlo Stanton's workouts.
- 12:52This guy used to bench 300 lbs like it was nothing.
- 12:55I'm telling you, this guy is, he's built like a, you know,
- 12:59like a Hercules. That's what he is.
- 13:01But he's, he doesn't play like it anymore.
- 13:03I'd be surprised if he plays more than 100 games this year.
- 13:07I'll be surprised. I I'd say this, if he does it,
- 13:10he's worth every penny the Yankees give him because they're
- 13:12going to need him in the playoffs.
- 13:13But it's not going to happen. I think he's on drugs and
- 13:16whatever he believes he thinks he's going to do, he must be
- 13:18drinking or smoking something because it's not going to
- 13:22happen. And there's no reason for the
- 13:23Yankees to have to push that, either.
- 13:24They have enough guys that can slide the DH area.
- 13:26You have to make sure he's healthy for the playoffs.
- 13:28We all said all the time he's the Yankees second best playoff
- 13:30player consistently and sometimes their number one
- 13:32playoff player. I I think he's been their best
- 13:34playoff, him and Gleber Torres, he's no longer with the
- 13:37organization And and, and finally Aaron Judge showed up in
- 13:40a big playoff run but fell short because they couldn't get out of
- 13:43semis the divisional game. So.
- 13:46Especially like with the other key players that the Yankees had
- 13:48dipping at at points last year. Bellinger was pretty bad in that
- 13:51Blue Jays series. Your boy Jazz jism really
- 13:53disappeared in that Blue Jays series outside of the one game
- 13:55game. They have to be able to trust
- 13:57the kids and make it work. And if you want to make it work,
- 13:59have them get have a guy like Stanton around you to take a lot
- 14:01of pictures. I have always liked Giancarlo
- 14:04Stan ever since he came here. The Yankees got him for nothing.
- 14:06Nothing. Derek Jeter wrapped him up with
- 14:09a nice little bow and said here you can have them, OK.
- 14:13He gave the Yankees one of the best power hitters in baseball
- 14:15at the time, and the year before he was the National League MVP,
- 14:19but he has not been the same player in five years in a
- 14:23regular season. You want to set him up for the
- 14:25playoffs, set him up right. Don't play him more than 80
- 14:28games. Make sure he's 100% healthy for
- 14:30the playoffs. For him to come out and say that
- 14:32he wants to play or he thinks he believes with his bad elbows,
- 14:35he's going to play 162 games. He's only selling you a bag of
- 14:39balls, and I mean goodies. Bag of balls.
- 14:42That's about it. That's it, ladies and gentlemen,
- 14:45because that is not selling to me.
- 14:47It's offset to anybody's belief that he is going to play next
- 14:51year more than 100 games. A goodies bag of balls packed in
- 14:54with Pokémon balls and aliens and.
- 14:55Whatever it is, whatever kids like to play with.
- 14:58I mean, not those kind of balls, but you know what?
- 15:01The Yankees are going to retire CC Sabathia's number on
- 15:04September 26th. It's going to be the first guy
- 15:07since Paul O'Neill had #21 retired in 2022 with the
- 15:12Yankees, in 11 seasons, he had a 381 ERA, 127 WHIP, but also in
- 15:19the playoffs, 34297 strikeouts. He had 1700 strikeouts with the
- 15:25Yankees. Obviously Hall of Famer,
- 15:26left-hander, just incredible pitcher for the Yankees,
- 15:30obviously World Series champion. Yankee, that's all I'm going to
- 15:33say. He was a he was a monster.
- 15:36And he, he came from Milwaukee. He had all those perfect games.
- 15:39And I mean, CC stood for a lot for the New York Yankees.
- 15:43And yes, he took two big contracts from the Yankees, got
- 15:46paid a lot of money. But even with all the drinking
- 15:49problems and all the problems that he's had in the past and,
- 15:52and even weight problems, he stood for everything.
- 15:55And, and then when he had to redefine his pitching motion and
- 15:58and become a more finesse pitcher, not a power pitcher, he
- 16:01still accomplish a lot doing and playing that way.
- 16:04So I, I mean, CC really stood for a lot for the Yankees and I,
- 16:08I think it's well deserved. I think it's long overdue and I
- 16:12think the the man's going to be placed there and and remembered
- 16:16as one of the greatest Yankee pitchers of all time.
- 16:18Yeah, definitely one of the best ones when you look at starting
- 16:21consistency in this area. Yeah, he had a couple of years,
- 16:23like you were saying, when he had those drinking issues, but
- 16:25recreated himself in that 2015 season.
- 16:27I think especially when the Yankees were supposed to be one
- 16:29of the worst teams on paper in that tough division and they
- 16:31still made the playoffs. A lot of that had to do with
- 16:33him. And again, real first four
- 16:35years, peak years for the Yankees when they've had trouble
- 16:38signing these other starting pitchers in the past.
- 16:39He definitely will deserve it. Yes Mikey C he's a Hall of Famer
- 16:42easily. Not like what you.
- 16:43Were thinking years ago Mariano Rivera helped him with the cut
- 16:47fastball and even Andy Pettitte was teaching him some pitches
- 16:50that helping him with his change up.
- 16:52I mean, CC really redefined the way he pitched at the tail end
- 16:55of his career. Not many pitchers could do that.
- 16:57CC did. You're a power pitcher and
- 16:59you're throwing over 100 mph and then change everything because
- 17:02you can't throw over 9293 and, and completely change your
- 17:06motion and, and, and over one season and learn how to pitch.
- 17:11It says a lot about who he is as a player.
- 17:13Very well deserved. Congratulations to CC Sabathia.
- 17:16He tried everything. Remember the year he lost like
- 17:1875 lbs out of nowhere it seemed like and then he it thought that
- 17:22was going to make him better. He didn't have the fastball
- 17:24anymore when he lost the he was like thrown in the 80s and he
- 17:27couldn't do anything. Like his numbers.
- 17:29I just read them. They don't sound that great
- 17:31outside of the strikeouts with the Yankees because, you know,
- 17:34he got lit up for a couple of years there.
- 17:36It was real tough. But you know, there's only a
- 17:38handful of shoulder problems that figure out that well,
- 17:41shoulder problem, you know, the personal problems.
- 17:44But you know, the guy fought through it, came back absolute
- 17:48Hall of Famer. Congrats to him again, September
- 17:5026th if you're trying to go to that game.
- 17:52And let's talk about the Mets. There's a real interesting
- 17:55prospect that the Mets have who might end up with the team
- 17:59breaking out of camp. It's their top prospect, Carson
- 18:02Benge. He's the 16th overall prospect
- 18:05in baseball. He had a 282 average, 24
- 18:10Steelers, 15 homers last year at three different levels of the
- 18:14minors. He's trying to get right field
- 18:16job competing with a who's who of maybe who's not.
- 18:22We got Mike Tauchman, Brett Beatty, who I guess is a right
- 18:25fielder now. Tyrone Taylor and MJ Melendez
- 18:29are all competing for that spot on the roster.
- 18:32But this kid had a three hit game the other day.
- 18:34I just seems to be ready, which is pretty wild.
- 18:39And it could be someone that the Mets could get a real shot in
- 18:43the arm from this year. All right.
- 18:45First of all, if you know anything about Stearns and David
- 18:48Stearns, what he likes to do, he's not going to call a guy up
- 18:51in the beginning of the season. They want full control of his
- 18:54arbitrations. So that is not going to happen.
- 18:57That is not going to happen. They're going to have,
- 18:59obviously, if he has a good spring training, they'll
- 19:02probably send him back down for a couple of weeks until they
- 19:05they they have a chance to bring him up and it doesn't affect
- 19:08their arbitration and he could come up.
- 19:10This is the same thing what what Spencer Jones was doing for the
- 19:13Yankees in spring training. He looked unbelievable last year
- 19:16in spring training. Did the Yankees call him up?
- 19:18No. And and by the way, for all
- 19:20those Spencer Jones haters or whatever Brian Cashman said
- 19:24about him, Spencer Jones hit 277 last year.
- 19:27He had 35 home runs and eighty RB is by the way, is better than
- 19:31bench. Maybe not it's batting average,
- 19:33but power numbers were better than bench.
- 19:35And I know bench is, is like a top 15 prospect and Spencer
- 19:40Jones is not even a top 100. That doesn't matter to me.
- 19:43I, I'm just looking at the the, the facts.
- 19:46And the facts is if the, if the Mets want to bring them up
- 19:49early, that is not something that David Sterns likes to do.
- 19:53It will throw you off and and realize is that David Stearns is
- 19:56on the hot seat and he has to do this because it's going to do it
- 19:59in his way or his performance will probably save his job.
- 20:03That's the only reason why he would bring him up, because
- 20:06these moves that he made in the offseason may just shake your
- 20:08head. Yeah, Beatty is the one I think
- 20:10I think deserves the best shot first, even though Fish, like
- 20:12you're saying, it's not his natural position in his corner
- 20:14round field spot, but his offense is going to bring a lot
- 20:17more. You don't need the defense in
- 20:18center field like you did last year with Tyrone Taylor that
- 20:20couldn't hit. He hit in the clutch, which was
- 20:22good, but he really disappeared offensively the second-half of
- 20:24the year. Mike Tauchman, like, yeah, those
- 20:26two good years with the Yankees and like one good year somewhere
- 20:29else. Yeah, that's not really good to
- 20:30trust. Melendez is interesting because
- 20:31he had that good year two years ago at Kansas City but really
- 20:33fell off offensively. But I agree with you, Errol.
- 20:35I wouldn't rush him up right now.
- 20:37Don't. Put extra.
- 20:37Pressure on the kid Right now they'd have to try to do a.
- 20:40Lot Did Stearns ever do that in Milwaukee?
- 20:43He never did. Ever did.
- 20:45He is not going to change his ways because he the only way he
- 20:49does if he's really on the hot seat and he needs to rush his
- 20:52kid up because they got to pull lightning in a bottle and maybe
- 20:55this guy turns into a star and he looks like, oh, look, it's
- 20:58David Stearns. The man's a genius, an absolute
- 21:02genius. Yeah, it's not going to be
- 21:03because of him necessarily that they do it.
- 21:05I think it's also it would just be all right if April and maybe
- 21:07early May they have a really rough month of offensive
- 21:10outfield production from those right fields guys.
- 21:12Okay, yeah, give him a shot at that point.
- 21:14He's supposed to be this a dynamic defensive outfielder
- 21:17too, in addition to stolen bases.
- 21:18But again, you don't want to rush these guys up.
- 21:20The Mets, I know Nelson Figueroa, when we had them on
- 21:22last year, was praising the way they were developing my indoors.
- 21:25It's still been still raw in some areas.
- 21:28I think it's been mostly good, but not as good as it should be.
- 21:31Thumb up my ass. All right, all right, let's talk
- 21:36some football. There was a huge trade today.
- 21:38The Jets have made a big deal. The Jets traded edge rusher
- 21:43Jermaine Johnson to Titans for nose tackle to Vondre Sweat.
- 21:48Sweat's got two more years left on his rookie contract to a
- 21:51second round pick. It'll cost The Jets 1.7 million
- 21:54against their cap. It saves them 13.4 million
- 21:58against the cap. By trading Johnson in his fifth
- 22:01year option on his first round contract.
- 22:03He gets reunited with Bambi, Sala, Errol back in Tennessee.
- 22:11How do you like that steal for the?
- 22:14Well, I think it was a steal for The Jets.
- 22:17They get a nose tackle. They they've had problems
- 22:19stopping the run. This guy is going to be a big
- 22:21part of their run stopping game in the future.
- 22:24He's still a young player, has a lot to give to an Aaron Glenn
- 22:28defense or a future of another defense if Aaron Glenn doesn't
- 22:32work out over there because they have control of him.
- 22:35And Jermaine Johnson was going to get traded at the trade
- 22:37deadline last year if they were going to get the pieces or get
- 22:40what they were asking for. So they were looking to move
- 22:42Jermaine Johnson anyways. They didn't think that he was
- 22:45going to be a part of the future of this organization, at least
- 22:48with Aaron Glenn. I like Jermaine, I like what he
- 22:50said. Go check out on his Twitter
- 22:52page. He thanked all the Jet fans and
- 22:54and New York fans for everything that they did for him.
- 22:57He class act very well deserved. But Sweat, I think he's going to
- 23:00fit very, very well in this defense.
- 23:03I think they're going to rebuild this defense and free agency
- 23:06this offseason. And now they save $13 million
- 23:09and they don't have to overpay a nose tackle, which they've had
- 23:13problems doing and finding over the last couple of years.
- 23:15This guy is under control for the next two years.
- 23:18Slam dunk. And by the way, Moji still, I
- 23:20mean, everybody's questioning if Moji is going to be the guy, the
- 23:23right guy. He's looked like a genius in the
- 23:25last three moves he's made. Yeah, this is a second round
- 23:27pick that a lot of people thought have a first round pick
- 23:30obviously had the the DUI or whatever was that made him
- 23:33follow the second round. But he's big.
- 23:34He's six, 366 lbs. This is the guy that still has
- 23:37two years left on his rookie deal.
- 23:39Young enough where The Jets are still going to get some level of
- 23:41upside. They cannot be a rotational
- 23:44defensive tackle type thing with somebody that isn't as good as
- 23:46Quentin Williams there. Now I see Quentin Williams
- 23:48probably not, but he still has enough upside to make that kind
- 23:51of thing work. On the Titans side, they
- 23:52definitely need some edge pressure too.
- 23:54I do like the move for them trying to get bring in a guy
- 23:55that's solid, familiar with Fish.
- 23:57You want to know who their leading SAC guy outside of
- 23:58Jeffrey Simmons was for an edge rusher last year?
- 24:01It was Giants legend Jihad Ward. Like that.
- 24:03That's how raw they are. You also know that Jermaine
- 24:05Johnson just came back from an Achilles tear and the only guy
- 24:09that came back from an Achilles tear playing the same position
- 24:12he had was that was successful. It sucks.
- 24:15I do not believe that this was a good move for Tennessee and I'm
- 24:19not taking shots at The Jets and I'm not taking shots at Jermaine
- 24:23Johnson. I love him.
- 24:24I hope nothing but the best for him.
- 24:26This is going to fail, and it's going to fail quickly because
- 24:28Robert, AKA Bambi Sala is going to fail as a head coach over
- 24:32there, just like he did with the New York Jets.
- 24:34Yes, Fisher. And it's 8 kids, by the way.
- 24:36Eight kids. Fisher is true.
- 24:39Jeffrey Simmons led the team with 11 sacks.
- 24:41He was next with five. It's crazy.
- 24:43Look, you need a nose tackle to stop the run.
- 24:45It's something that they struggled with last year.
- 24:47I think it's a smart move. It's a thing they needed for an
- 24:50expiring contract that saves money.
- 24:51But Errol, they're sitting at #2 in the draft.
- 24:55You get a choice now of Bane or Bailey because it's not really,
- 25:01you know, it's really going to be the, you want to play that
- 25:043-4 kind of like that heavier guy.
- 25:07You know, it's not going to be so much like an outside rusher.
- 25:09You know, they like to play Johnson doing both.
- 25:11I think you need to have that versatility in today's game.
- 25:15Bain certainly could be the guy. What do you think?
- 25:20After hearing about the combine today and what Reese did, I
- 25:23don't know now. I mean, he just read he just ran
- 25:26a 4.46 as a pass rusher. He put on some weight in the
- 25:31offseason and he believes he's an edge rusher.
- 25:34A lot of people now I'm reading that people think the way you
- 25:37look today, you look like Michael Parsons.
- 25:39So I don't know. Now I, I, I, I, I think Reese is
- 25:43definitely involved in the conversation.
- 25:45Does do The Jets make Reese, you know, a defensive end or an edge
- 25:50rusher if he has that kind of speed in that kind of torque?
- 25:53Maybe they go that way. But I I like Bane too.
- 25:56I love them. Bailey.
- 25:57I love any one of these guys would be a great fit for The
- 25:59Jets. I would rather Bane.
- 26:02I would. But what Reese is doing today at
- 26:05the combine and and really just looking like a super superstar,
- 26:11it's going to be hard to pass up on a guy that can change your
- 26:14defense for the better. Super versatile defense too,
- 26:16which is what I think Aaron Glenn tried to do in Detroit and
- 26:20try to do with a lot of rotational defensive lineman
- 26:22outside of Hutchins. Remember when Hutchinson was
- 26:24hurt and he had that gruesome injury two years ago?
- 26:26We thought the Lions defense would fall off a Cliff.
- 26:28Speedy A 446. That is what wide receivers run.
- 26:36Wide receivers run and he's 2. Lead wide receivers run that
- 26:40kind. Of a speed and he ran that and
- 26:42he's he's a guy that's 230 something pounds I mean come on
- 26:45guys yeah you're you're that's. Ridiculous.
- 26:49So the issue with Reese, you know, do you take a guy at 2 and
- 26:52change his position? That's kind of wild.
- 26:54You know he's going to have to put.
- 26:55Up the real matter. You know, if he's going to play.
- 26:57That I don't know he's at. 2:30. 446. 30 I know, but if he's at
- 27:012:30 you get if, if one of those 300 something pound tackles gets
- 27:05their hands on you, you're going down.
- 27:07Dude, Michael Parsons got it. Michael Parsons, when he came,
- 27:09when he came to the the Cowboys, he was like 2. 15 lbs.
- 27:13He was 233. He got 1015 lbs.
- 27:15You need to get heavier, you know.
- 27:17But again, if you're going to play off ball, that's one thing.
- 27:19You know, I don't know what they'll do now.
- 27:20When he was in Ohio State, an interview Reese gave, he said
- 27:24that he was coached by Matt Patricia to be like Jamie
- 27:27Collins for the Patriots, who was an All pro for a few years
- 27:30back in that where he played inside linebacker.
- 27:33He rushed off the edge to play so versatile that you don't know
- 27:36where he's coming from. This guy would be like a Jamie
- 27:39Collins on steroids if he's running a 446 scheme.
- 27:43Versatility might excite some defensive coordinators, but
- 27:46speedy, you tell me. It reminds me of a linebacker
- 27:49named Isaiah Simmons also. Who I was a big chance at the
- 27:52time. Who I was a big fan of because
- 27:54he ran like a 446 or something at the combine and then he
- 27:57couldn't play because he didn't have a real position.
- 28:00I don't think Reese is like that.
- 28:01But at the same time, when you know Bane is probably going to
- 28:05be a freaking great player by the way, I wonder what choice
- 28:08you. Make.
- 28:08By the way, at the combine, he weighed in at 2:43.
- 28:11So I take back. That's pretty good.
- 28:13Yeah, he's 64, 243. That's what he weighed into
- 28:17today. So just so everybody knows, so.
- 28:20He might be going to. He's going to.
- 28:22Yeah, again, you can't be going to 6 foot 4 already with enough
- 28:25strength. And again, that kind of burst
- 28:27off the line of scrimmage is already going to be a big thing.
- 28:29That's what they're saying right now, I think.
- 28:31You weighed in. The versatility is still going
- 28:33to be an added bonus, too, because that was the same thing
- 28:34last year with Abdul Carter and he went in the top three.
- 28:36And Reese is probably a better, like more explosive raw pass
- 28:40rusher than Carter is. I don't know, maybe more
- 28:43explosive. I think the Carter's got the
- 28:45speed, but let's talk about the other.
- 28:47Pass. You're going to tell me?
- 28:48The Carter answer going to get. Hold on, hold on, You think
- 28:50Carter? Carter has the fastest guy,
- 28:52yeah. He's not faster.
- 28:54He did not run. The league he led the league in,
- 28:57he didn't think he ran. He led the league in quick
- 28:59pressures. I'm just.
- 29:00First off, 446, the 40 yard dash is not the measure.
- 29:04I'm just saying lineman. I'm just saying when you're
- 29:06looking at what he just did at the Combine, it's not.
- 29:10I'm sure the numbers for the thing he did is great too.
- 29:13I'm just saying like the the quick pressure thing with
- 29:17beating able to beat your man, Like they look at that as like
- 29:20the new like elite stat you want to see for a pass rusher is a
- 29:23rookie and not even playing like pass rusher for the whole
- 29:26season. Carter led the league.
- 29:28So there's there's like a lot. Giant fan.
- 29:31People excited. Giant fan, ladies and gentlemen,
- 29:34giant fan. But you know, but you know who
- 29:36they're not excited about Errol. They're not excited about Kayvon
- 29:39Thibodeau because Kayvon Thibodeau, everyone's saying, is
- 29:42all but out the door from New York right now.
- 29:46Connor Hughes, SNY Giants are listening to trade offers for
- 29:50Thibodeau. He's almost guaranteed to be
- 29:52gone. They're going to restructure
- 29:54Dexter Lawrence's contract. Like I said, probably.
- 29:57They said it came out today that Dexter Lawrence fought an elbow
- 30:01injury last season that they kind of hushed up that he played
- 30:04through. But the Ravens, Jaguars,
- 30:07Packers, Lions and Bears are teams that have expressed a lot
- 30:10of interest in trading for Thibodeau.
- 30:12The ranges are a third round pick for Thibodeau would
- 30:17probably get the job done right off the bat.
- 30:20And some people are talking, you know, similarly, they should do
- 30:23a player for player deal just like The Jets just did for
- 30:26Jermaine Johnson and get a guy at a position maybe like middle
- 30:29linebacker that the Giants need. Maybe it's not as valuable as an
- 30:32edge rusher that they can kind of swing a similar deal.
- 30:34I'd never liked Kevon Thibodeau. I never liked him.
- 30:38I I I remember when he was drafted.
- 30:40He was Shane's first draft draft here wasn't wasn't even a first
- 30:44draft here for Joe Shane, him and Neil.
- 30:46Evan Neil is not going to be a part of this organization moving
- 30:49forward and either is Kayvon Thibodeau.
- 30:52You got two guys that were drafted in the top ten.
- 30:54Look across look what he's doing right now.
- 30:56He just won a Super Bowl with Seattle, which by the way, the
- 30:59Giants could have drafted, but they decided to go with Evan
- 31:03Neil from Alabama. How did that work out?
- 31:05Kayvon Thibodeau, he's, he's been up and down as a New York
- 31:08Giant. He didn't fit there.
- 31:10He didn't fit the at any point with any of the defenses that he
- 31:13ran. The Giants are going to get a
- 31:15third round draft pick for me. I don't think for the New York
- 31:18Giants, Kayvon Thibodeau was ever going to be a part of this
- 31:22organization after his fourth year.
- 31:24I think that the Giants will move them.
- 31:26They'll get 1/3 or 1/4 for him. I don't think they get it any
- 31:28more than that. Maybe goes to another team.
- 31:31There are players that have gone.
- 31:33I mean, remember Ferrier, he left the New York Jets, he went
- 31:37to see, he went to Pittsburgh and became an All All pro
- 31:41defensive lineman, a linebacker maybe.
- 31:45Maybe that is what happened to Kayvon Thibodeau.
- 31:47He goes somewhere else. How about there's a guy that
- 31:50played for The Jets and the Giants, went to Seattle and
- 31:53became an All pro Π type of player in Williams.
- 31:56Maybe that happens with him. He goes somewhere else and
- 31:59really develops his skill. I just don't think it's going or
- 32:02ever was going to work with New York.
- 32:04Too much pressure and too many bright lights and and really the
- 32:08fans being at him when he doesn't do anything in games and
- 32:11man, he disappears in games. Yeah, I always thought he had
- 32:14the raw talent to do that. But Fish I was talking to you
- 32:16earlier about it like he never really developed that move set
- 32:19you would want for a guy that with his the level of
- 32:20athleticism. Now his problem at the beginning
- 32:22of his career, he was his power rushing game was not as strong
- 32:25and his run defense was struggle.
- 32:26Now run defense got good, but I think he still has issues with
- 32:29the move. Said he still has issues with
- 32:30the awareness. And now with Giants having like
- 32:32you said, Abdul Carter developing in the second-half of
- 32:34the year and obviously still having Brian Burns, it seems
- 32:36like cap space wise, he's definitely out the door.
- 32:39The other one I know you mentioned to me, Fish was
- 32:41Tremaine Edmonds A1 for one swap as a possibility.
- 32:44What about for the Packers? Quay Walker as an option of
- 32:46that, too, because he's got an expiring contract.
- 32:48They can't afford him. You, you giant fans, don't get
- 32:52it in your heads. If they bring in this guy or
- 32:54they bring in another guy, Walker's going to want money.
- 32:57That's one. And Dexter Loris, even if he
- 32:59takes somewhat of a pay cut, how much money do you think he's
- 33:02going to take? He's not.
- 33:03Maybe. Drops.
- 33:04It's not going to be a pay cut. They're going to give him a
- 33:06raise. They're going to give him an
- 33:07extension and lower the cap number this year and do the void
- 33:11year. They're not.
- 33:11They're not. That's what they're going to do.
- 33:13They're not going to lower his. They're not going to have a lot
- 33:15of money to work with, so I don't know where you think
- 33:17they're going to get Walker. He's going to want big bucks,
- 33:20so. Well, Thibodeau has a big
- 33:22contract, so if you move Thibodeau, then like it kind of
- 33:25matches up a little bit. What's his big contract?
- 33:27What's he making? It's the.
- 33:29Same 5th year option as what's his face Jermaine Johnson.
- 33:33I think he's a little higher because he was a top five pick,
- 33:35but he's 14. Yeah, slightly higher.
- 33:37So it's like 1516, you know what I mean?
- 33:41So it's like one of those that you can kind of fit a better
- 33:45guy. But Speedy I, I don't think
- 33:46they're going to do, I think more with what Errol's saying
- 33:48where they're going to try to save salary at this position,
- 33:51whether they draft somebody. I mean the Texas Tech kid,
- 33:54Rodriguez, as they say, it's like a second, third round pick.
- 33:56I'd be very interested in that kid to be honest with.
- 33:59You, by the way, by the way, Dom says 1414.7 according to spot
- 34:05track. So thank you, Dom.
- 34:07Yeah. So yeah, around 15,000,000 and
- 34:10it's a, it's a guy that I, I was excited about and he just,
- 34:14you're right, he just was more flash than anything.
- 34:17Else remember when the. Defensive ends were better.
- 34:19Remember when he got, he had those special made headsets when
- 34:22he, when he was coming into the league, it was just about when
- 34:24he was going to get drafted and he had these like I, I think it
- 34:28was Doctor Dre Beats, you know, headsets that he had made for
- 34:31him and his colors. I had just, I, I'm sorry, I
- 34:35never ever liked Thibodeau, never ever did coming from
- 34:39Oregon and we've how many Oregon guys that we've had on the show
- 34:42and they loved him and I, I told him straight out I'd like, I
- 34:45don't like him. I don't like, oh, you don't know
- 34:47how nice of a guy he is. I don't know.
- 34:48Nice guys finish last. As we all know.
- 34:52I've been a nice guy and I've, I wouldn't say finish last, but I
- 34:55sometimes think that I have. So there you go.
- 34:58A little bit of hockey. So the Sabres played the devil's
- 35:02last night, or is it 2 night things last night and it was a
- 35:06real like coming out party for Jack Hughes back home as the
- 35:11Olympic hero gave a speech to the crowd.
- 35:14So proud and so happy. The men's and women's USA Hockey
- 35:17teams brought gold back to the United States.
- 35:19He brought H Thompson off of the Buffalo bench.
- 35:22USA chance. It was really beautiful.
- 35:25Quinn was there too. Quinn Hughes in the stands with
- 35:29the family, you know, it's and she won a silver medal, as you
- 35:32know, when she was on the women's team back in 1992, was
- 35:36one of the most phenomenal female hockey players in the
- 35:40late 80s, early 90s. So that's really the only thing
- 35:43I got for the for hockey for that side of it.
- 35:46Braden Schneider might be traded by the Rangers, probably because
- 35:50Drury doesn't want to re sign them because it wasn't his
- 35:52original pick. He's he's not having a great
- 35:55year, but no one is on that team.
- 35:57And the Islanders have some trade targets.
- 36:00Errol, it's you know, second-half of the season they
- 36:02got 69 points. They're third in the metro, one
- 36:05point behind the Penguins, 2 ahead of the capitals on the
- 36:08fringe right now of getting that seed.
- 36:12And then many reports are linking them to get in some
- 36:14scoring on the wing. The Blues have a couple of
- 36:17wingers, Thomas and Kairu. Predators have Bunting and
- 36:22Forsberg might be available, especially with Barry Trotz over
- 36:26there. There might be a connection
- 36:28between the the old Islanders coach and the Canucks have a
- 36:32couple of wingers as well, Bowser, Garland and a center.
- 36:37Peterson's probably available. Who was going to have the
- 36:39biggest contract of anyone the Islanders would try to add.
- 36:43First of all, congratulations to Jack Hughes and, and, and
- 36:46celebrating and what he said about the New Jersey fans and
- 36:49how he's happy to be there and playing for such great fans.
- 36:52And I I've been to New Jersey, I've been to a devil game, even
- 36:56though sometimes you think that it's a dead place to go.
- 36:59New Jersey has great devil fans. They they pack out those
- 37:03stadiums, they back out those games, especially when you have
- 37:05a young superstar like a Jack Hughes, they're just not going
- 37:09to do anything this year. Jack has been out for a
- 37:11significant amount of time this year, but it was fun to watch
- 37:13Tage Thompson, his family was there, the crowd going wild,
- 37:17everybody screaming USAUSA. It's a great feeling.
- 37:19I had goosebumps watching it. So I love Jack Hughes.
- 37:22I think he's a young stud. He's going to be the face of
- 37:25United States hockey for the next two, maybe even 3 Olympics.
- 37:30So it was fun to watch. It was really, really great to
- 37:33watch it. And, and shout out to Tage
- 37:35Thompson too. Love the kid.
- 37:37As far as the Rangers, I don't think they trade Schneider.
- 37:41It's more Vincent Trochik. That's what everybody keeps
- 37:44talking about. Trochik is the guy that
- 37:46everybody's going to be looking at and he's the, he's going to
- 37:49be a guy that the Rangers can cash in on.
- 37:52They can get a lot back for a guy like Vincent Trochik, Braden
- 37:56Schneider. I I think they hold on to him at
- 37:58least until the offseason and maybe they move him and maybe
- 38:02Chris Jury screws it up even more And, and trades a lot, a
- 38:05lot of other pieces in the offseason.
- 38:07It makes the Rangers look like a an AHL team.
- 38:10I mean, he's been absolutely putrid as far as the Islanders
- 38:14are concerned. Remember this name and I think
- 38:16it's going to happen. It's Vancouver and it's Peterson
- 38:19and I think Peterson makes a lot of sense.
- 38:22Him and Bo Horvat play together, play together over there with
- 38:25Vancouver. They played on the same line.
- 38:27I Peterson has not been the same goal scorer since Bo Horvat has
- 38:31left and this guy at one point of his career was a 4040 goal
- 38:35scorer. I think Peterson is a slam dunk
- 38:38for the Islanders if you're willing to give up a first round
- 38:41draft pick for a guy that's under control.
- 38:43He's 27 years old and is he's still a young stud in this
- 38:47league that could be a star and an offensive option for the
- 38:50Islanders. It's Peterson.
- 38:51Stay away from the other. I like the Saint Louis blue kids
- 38:54I but I think Peterson's the guy.
- 38:56It's the home run. Yeah, I worry about with two
- 38:59guys on that list is Forsberg and Robert Thomas.
- 39:01With the Blues, both injury prone.
- 39:03I know you might get a discount with Barry Trots, view trade
- 39:05with Nashville, maybe go for Bunting.
- 39:06In that case, maybe the combination is Peterson, you get
- 39:09a center and then Bunting, you get a winger who's had some good
- 39:11scoring flashes in Toronto, did pretty well last year with
- 39:13Carolina, but not enough where they're able to keep him on the
- 39:15contract that he wanted and now Nashville.
- 39:17Disappointing. But yeah, I think he, Patterson,
- 39:20someone's kind of disinterested in Vancouver research.
- 39:22We talked about that last year with JT Miller.
- 39:24We talked about it last year with a lot of other players.
- 39:25They just really falling off to rock bottom.
- 39:27I think he gets a nice fresh start with the Islanders and the
- 39:29Islands with the money. Make it.
- 39:30Work. One last thing to talk about,
- 39:32and that is the rematch between UConn and St.
- 39:36John's. That went very differently.
- 39:38Now, if you remember, St. John's upset UConn by about 8-8
- 39:41or nine points. Not the same today.
- 39:44That game was at MSG. This game was embarrassing 72 to
- 39:5040. Rick Pitino's largest defeat
- 39:52since becoming St. John's head coach.
- 39:54They missed 12 straight shots in the first half and their last 24
- 39:59shots of the game, shooting 20% from the field.
- 40:04Tyrus Reed Junior 20 points for UConn with eight boards and six
- 40:07blocks. Caravan 14 points, four boards,
- 40:102 assists for the Huskies. Hoop happens.
- 40:14I'm not going to say it I I want to say it, but it is absolute.
- 40:19Hold on. I'm trying to find a nithin take
- 40:21on here. There it is, Ludu.
- 40:23That's it, there it is. Ludu.
- 40:25Here. Here's the facts.
- 40:27I I I know it's a game that you want to you want to get back.
- 40:30I know Pitino after the game said his piece.
- 40:33My team didn't play well. I didn't coach well.
- 40:36We got to play better. That's every coach.
- 40:38Every great coach is going to say that.
- 40:39It's going to give you a take. This is a team that won 13 games
- 40:42in a row. It's one game.
- 40:45Yeah, Yukon made him look like a, you know, a peewee basketball
- 40:49team. They did.
- 40:51And Danny Hurley won back-to-back national
- 40:54championships. And this guys one of the best
- 40:56coaches in all of college basketball and he's got a great
- 41:00recruiting class. This UConn team is one of the
- 41:02best in the nation. If they meet in at any point in
- 41:07the tournament, any point and they might win in the the
- 41:09championship game, they might meet meet in the Big East
- 41:13tournament, the Big East tournament.
- 41:15So they might see each other again.
- 41:17Best believe this won't happen again.
- 41:19Rick Pitino does not see games like this over and over and over
- 41:24again. This is a guy that's one of the
- 41:25best coaches in college basketball history.
- 41:28This is a born winner. He is going to make sure that
- 41:31his team feels it. I've seen what he did his first
- 41:34year. They had a camera.
- 41:35They had a St. John's, had a documentary for
- 41:39Paramount, had him following Pitino all last season.
- 41:43I think it was last season, the season before I think it was
- 41:45last season. And Pitino was very hard on his
- 41:48players last year, very, very hard on his players.
- 41:51This is a guy that knows how to push the right buttons.
- 41:54I believe St. John's will be fine.
- 41:56This is a wake up call for some of their players, veteran
- 41:59players, older players to play harder, play better and don't
- 42:03miss shots which they were missing a lot of them.
- 42:06Yeah, we talked about it a few weeks ago, weeks ago with Dan
- 42:08Hurley getting his wake up call on the defensive side where
- 42:10their defense was the stronger unit for the team.
- 42:12And now you look at Saint John's of this perspective, their
- 42:15defense has always been strong. Now they have 72 points to a
- 42:18team playing with a sense of urge with UConn.
- 42:20UConn had some Dodds recently. Even some of the games they won,
- 42:22they weren't playing as well as they should have.
- 42:24And all streaks for our mental coming on you.
- 42:26It's very hard in college basketball or really in any
- 42:28sport to just have an ongoing streak and have it sustainable
- 42:31into the Big East tournament and into the NCAA tournament, which
- 42:33obviously the bigger ceiling for a program like Saint John's.
- 42:36UConn has a championship pedigree.
- 42:37They showed it there. 40 points is alarming.
- 42:39A lot of it's one game. Like they they're not going to
- 42:43let it drag on them. Pitino's too good of a coach.
- 42:45Jesus, I mean, could you fill the the lines as fast as you
- 42:49did? I mean a little bit slower.
- 42:51I, I didn't even understand what you were saying.
- 42:54Jesus, throw me off. All right, that's it for the
- 43:00carousel. We'll take a spin again next
- 43:02week. Well, we took a spin on that
- 43:04one, and I definitely spin backwards with Speedy's notion
- 43:08of words and presentation of just spitting it out and making
- 43:13me sick to my stomach. I was like, it was like one of
- 43:15those, like, what do they call those?
- 43:18The horse things? What are the carousel?
- 43:20Yeah, the carousel. There it is.
- 43:22That's a normal. Point.
- 43:25Could you speak a little slower so I can understand?
- 43:27You Oh, we have another segment and a guest coming up.
- 43:28Well, oh, so that's what it is. So every time you speak, it's
- 43:35every time I hear you, I'm like, woof, woof, woof, woof.
- 43:38It's like, it's like a fastball coming at me and I'm not even
- 43:40seeing it. You know, that's all I'm going
- 43:43to say. Anyways, we call this all
- 43:44righty, then all righty, then all righty, all righty.
- 43:54All righty then, that's my face. Right there.
- 43:56That's my face. Every time I hear Speedy just to
- 44:00talk. I'm like, I'm like, what?
- 44:02What the hell? What the hell you know.
- 44:05Jesus. Well, all righty then.
- 44:07Tonight we're just going to go into an article Errol wrote.
- 44:10This one is about the USA gold medal win in the Olympics.
- 44:16US snowed in. In Canada snowed out.
- 44:20Let's remove this and put up the article.
- 44:23USA wins gold while New York was getting turned into a Slurpee.
- 44:26Yes, if you're not living in New York, pay attention.
- 44:29Sunday morning, 8:10 AM on the East Coast, the last day of the
- 44:32Winter Olympics. Outside New York, the worst
- 44:34Blizzard of the year was actively trying to relink my
- 44:38house to Connecticut and inside history, Team USA just defeated
- 44:43Canada to win its first Olympic gold medal since 1980.
- 44:46Yes, the first one since the legendary Miracle on Ice.
- 44:50Now listen, I wasn't allowed to see Mike Eruzione in the the
- 44:53boys shocked Soviets, Soviet Union men national ice hockey
- 44:56team. But like every red blooded
- 44:58American hockey fan, I've studied that team the way people
- 45:01study the subruder film and this team that Bill Garen put
- 45:04together. Youth speed, hard and just
- 45:08enough swagger to walk into a gold medal game against Canada
- 45:11and say, respectfully, we got this.
- 45:15No Crosby, no overtime trauma. And look, with all do love and
- 45:19do love and respect to Canadian royalty, no Sidney Crosby in the
- 45:23gold medal game, then no overtime flashbacks, no national
- 45:27PTSD, no Golden Bowl sequel. Just vibes, speedy.
- 45:34All right, we'll start. We got a mixed bag of comments
- 45:36here. We'll start with one that was
- 45:38kind of salty. This is Darth Devastator.
- 45:41US got very lucky in that game. Thank you Darth Devastator for
- 45:45devastating my thoughts of this gold medal.
- 45:49Lucky luck doesn't have anything to do with it.
- 45:52They had great gold ending and a guy stood on his head.
- 45:55Over the years. Canada got Lucky Against USI
- 45:58remember when Sidney Crosby won an overtime against Team USA in
- 46:02a goal that honestly was lucky? I mean, you're going to sit here
- 46:06and you're going to tell me that Canada hasn't been lucky over
- 46:08the years against Team USA? Luck has nothing to do with it.
- 46:12It's all about getting that goal, getting that opening pass
- 46:15and putting the ball, putting the puck right in the net.
- 46:17Luck had nothing to do with it all.
- 46:19Right, one of the more positive comments.
- 46:20Math nerd 61. Can we give a shout out to Jack
- 46:23Greenski for his game? Winning assists, body control
- 46:25and sheer will to get to the puck to Jack Hughes should be
- 46:27getting more praise than it's been getting.
- 46:29Thank you. What is it?
- 46:30Math. Math.
- 46:31Nerd 61. Math nerd, thank you for giving
- 46:33us your take. I agree where where in Ski was
- 46:36really really good throughout the tournament.
- 46:38He was the second best defenseman offensively on this
- 46:41roster, right behind Mr. Quinn Hughes, who was absolutely
- 46:46unbelievable. His brother gets the
- 46:48game-winning goal, scoring, you know, tribute.
- 46:51But Warinsky was a part of that. He he was the one that made that
- 46:54pass. He was the one that put his head
- 46:56up and got the pass right through the wickets of the
- 46:59defensive player and got it to Jack Hughes and pinned it right
- 47:04behind Mr. Pennington. Pinnington.
- 47:07I called him Pennington because he pinned it right behind him.
- 47:10I can't stand him. I couldn't stand him when I was
- 47:12over there at the Stanley Cup finals trying to interview him
- 47:14when they won the Stanley Cup with Saint Louis Blues.
- 47:16And I love the fact that he put the puck right behind him to win
- 47:20the gold. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the
- 47:23amazing USA glory gold. I call it the glory hole goal.
- 47:28That's what I call. It I'm sure you do all right.
- 47:31This one this one sounded like a Toronto Maple Leafs fan that's
- 47:34still living on 13 Stanley Cups that are all in the original 6
- 47:36era. This is a lab tech. 7 gold
- 47:38medals to actually beat can. What was that again?
- 47:417 gold medals to actually be Canada.
- 47:44Yeah, 7 gold. Oh, so thank you, a lab for
- 47:46making me even more sicker. First of all, I, I don't want to
- 47:50sit here and say that Canada hasn't been the most dominant
- 47:54hockey program in professional in in the hockey world.
- 47:58We all know they are. Since the Soviet Union, it's
- 48:01been all Canada. All the greatest and the best
- 48:03hockey players come from Canada. And I'm sure Neil Smith would
- 48:06agree with me on that when he comes in, there's no question.
- 48:10But here's the facts. It doesn't matter how many
- 48:12they've won. It matters what they have lost.
- 48:16And yes, ladies and gentlemen, 2026, the gold medal winners of
- 48:22the men's Olympic hockey is not Canada.
- 48:25It's not Connor McDavid who hasn't won a gold medal and
- 48:29hasn't won a championship. Ladies and gentlemen, it goes to
- 48:33the one, It goes to the only the one we call us.
- 48:38All right, next one from a peanut brittle latte.
- 48:40An interesting 1. Connor Hollebeck is not just a
- 48:42goalie, he's the Secretary of Defense.
- 48:45And Peanut, thank you for giving us your shout out.
- 48:48We love the take. Secretary of Defense, I don't
- 48:51know about that, but I there's no doubt about it that what he
- 48:56did was amazing. I, I that save against Tames of
- 49:00the Devon Tames to what really makes me sick.
- 49:02This guy made the Canadian team and by the way, he was drafted
- 49:06by the Islanders and the Islanders let him go to Colorado
- 49:08for nothing. They got nothing for Devon
- 49:10Dames. Makes me sick.
- 49:13All right, last one, this was an interesting 1.
- 49:14So Connor McDavid, who was the tournament MVP, he this guy
- 49:19Pirates say R said McDavid cost Canada that game.
- 49:23The back check was very weak. Pirate.
- 49:27Stop being a pirate. All right?
- 49:28I I mean, what are you on drugs? I mean, this guy pretty much was
- 49:33the best player on ice every time he was out there.
- 49:36I mean he was doing minute and 1/2 shifts and he was coming out
- 49:40after the 2nd shift, but the guy was playing practically the
- 49:44whole game. I don't know about you pirate.
- 49:46How many times have you skated on the ice?
- 49:48Do you think you could do a 32nd shift?
- 49:50Then again do a minute and 32nd shift as much as he did
- 49:53throughout that game. This guy is the best player in
- 49:55the world and to take shots at him and say that he's the reason
- 49:58why because I'm back checking. You can back check my foot in
- 50:01your ass, sorry. Maybe we should have a Karak
- 50:05David skate on a peg like Versus.
- 50:06You on a skate? What kind of take is that?
- 50:09Connor McDavid is the reason why Team Canada didn't win the gold
- 50:13medal. What are they nuts?
- 50:15I it had nothing to do with Connor McDavid, ladies and
- 50:19gentlemen, nothing to do with Connor McDavid.
- 50:22He played his ass off in the game.
- 50:24And I'll tell you this right now, on any given day, Canada
- 50:27probably wins that game. But Team USA, three on three,
- 50:30they, they made the moves, they made the plays that they needed
- 50:34to do to win that game. And congratulations to Team USA,
- 50:37very well deserved. And, and by the way, maybe the
- 50:40only championship Sullivan will win in the next 5 or 6 years
- 50:44because it's not going to be with the Rangers.
- 50:49I know Neil's going to love that one.
- 50:53And now, ladies and gentlemen, my deuce of the day.
- 50:56The deuce of the day, you log. Not a log, I don't have a log.
- 51:01But well ladies and gentlemen, as you want to well hold on I'm
- 51:12trying to get this smell my ass there it is You want to smell my
- 51:15ass. This is something that really
- 51:17stinks and if I had the button to press when it comes to the
- 51:20fart sounds, this is just as bad as this one.
- 51:23Jonte Porter is banned from the NBA, so you know what he decides
- 51:27to sign with who? The USB LS Super Hawks Who?
- 51:33Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Jonte Porter, who was banned, which
- 51:38if, if he's banned, everybody in the NBA should be banned because
- 51:41I'm sure they bet on basketball one way or another.
- 51:44He was obviously gambling in 2024 and currently awaiting
- 51:48sentencing and pleading guilty for related federal charges, is
- 51:51planning to play in an upstart pro basketball league, the
- 51:56Seattle Super Hawks. Well, it's not called the
- 51:59Seattle SuperSonics, so why don't we call them the Super
- 52:02Hawks? This is horrible and I feel bad
- 52:05for Jonte Porter. I, I, I understand, understand
- 52:08that he got caught. He did cheat.
- 52:10He did do something at the NBA does not allow and professional
- 52:12sports does not allow betting on their sports game.
- 52:15But to go and play outside of the NBA because you, you're
- 52:20obviously scraping for pennies or scraping for money or trying
- 52:23to believe that you're going to be something in a league that
- 52:26nobody's even heard of only says that you're reaching.
- 52:29This is a horrible move for Jonte Porter and it just shows
- 52:32you that he's never going to be back in the NBA.
- 52:35So my deuce of the day goes to Jonte Porter.
- 52:38What are you drinking or what are you eating?
- 52:41I farted. Well, that's all I'm going to
- 52:43say about that. Thank you to all the fans, all
- 52:46the people that listen to us and download us on Spotify and Apple
- 52:49on the video and audio, all the fans on TikTok and Instagram,

- 53:02starts moving. We need to get that thing
- 53:03moving. I mean, it's not easy.
- 53:05These these platforms are not easy to go, especially when
- 53:08you're you're not you're not on a big major platform, but we're
- 53:11we're getting there. And when when it moves in the
- 53:15right direction, we'll kick everybody on the way out,
- 53:17including the people that we can't stand.
- 53:19Yeah. And our YouTube channel, now our
- 53:21YouTube channel is, you know, moving and, but not moving fast
- 53:25enough. And we're not a niche.
- 53:27And I know people are going to say, well, if you talked about
- 53:30NBA, if you're talking about the Knicks or you're talking about
- 53:33just the Yankees, your, your, your platform on YouTube would
- 53:37really be booming. But well, that's not who we are.
- 53:40And, and we're not going to change that.
- 53:42Unfortunately, it might hurt our niche and, and where YouTube
- 53:46puts us as far as algorithm, but you know, we, we wish, you know,

- 54:37pride. And I don't know what he is, but
- 54:40he's going to Boston to hang out with his family and hang out
- 54:43with mom, you know, our favorite woman, you know.
- 54:51Being a timid with any of you midwits.
- 54:53Oh well, yeah, well, or one of these.
- 54:56You know this is a good one for you.
- 54:58No human is a beluga whale scientifically proven.
- 55:04Or this one. I like this one.
- 55:06I'm not yanking on a dead man's Dick.
- 55:08But I'm also never. Going to happen ever.
