Speaker 1: is Will Compton and the Commissioner of College Football. Give

Speaker 1: going to happen in Ann Arbor?

  Speaker 2: Are they dead?
• 0:24
Speaker 1: Can they come back to life? Find out that with
• 0:26
Speaker 1: a bunch more picks. On this show, big hugs, tiny kisses.

Speaker 2: Welcome to another episode of The Locker Room. Before we start,
• 1:04
Speaker 2: just a reminder for everybody tuning in. Bussin' and Paint
• 1:07
Speaker 2: on Campus will be in Ann Arbor this Friday for
• 1:10
Speaker 2: ESPN on ESPN, 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
• 1:14
  Speaker 3: Be there.
• 1:15
Speaker 2: We love a live audience. We love a live crowd.
• 1:17
Speaker 2: We had a few hundred last week in Baton Rouge.
• 1:19
Speaker 2: But the boys, this crew right here, will be at
• 1:22
Speaker 2: Ann Arbor this Friday afternoon. Be there. Or be square, man. Yeah,
• 1:28
Speaker 2: be square. As always, we are presented by the number
• 1:31
Speaker 2: one sportsbook in America. That is the FanDuel Sportsbook. Before
• 1:34
Speaker 2: we get into these stats from last week on FanDuel's
• 1:37
Speaker 2: new college football pick-em, just a reminder. Responsible. Responsible. Responsible.
• 1:43
Speaker 2: We love to have fun, but we like to be
• 1:44
Speaker 2: responsible when we gamble. You can go to FanDuel.com slash play...
• 1:49
Speaker 2: with a plan or the responsible gaming section in the app.
• 1:52
Speaker 2: But everybody who tapped in last week and saw how
• 1:55
Speaker 2: you can bet against the spread against us three, 250,000
• 1:58
Speaker 2: folks made their free picks and 256 of those people
• 2:00
  Speaker 2: went 10 out of 10 and are splitting over $ 1, 900
• 2:02
Speaker 2: in bonus bets. That's a round of applause. I saw
• 2:11
Speaker 2: a couple people in our mentions. Oh, you say we
• 2:14
Speaker 2: need to get the crowd juice? Late to clap. I know.
• 2:16
Speaker 2: I'm ready for people to see Jack McPherson's sign back
• 2:19
Speaker 2: there that he made. Now, unfortunately, none of us were perfect.
• 2:24
Speaker 2: Kudos to Josh for getting five out of ten, correct?
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: Congrats, Josh.
• 2:26
Speaker 2: But Will and Taylor, the boys, we only got three
• 2:29
Speaker 2: picks right last week. Really?
• 2:30
  Speaker 3: It's okay.
• 2:31
Speaker 2: That's 30%. That sounds like seven programs failed us. Yeah,
• 2:34
Speaker 2: we're nice in baseball. Which netted? What's TK, TK? We
• 2:42
Speaker 2: just put an acronym on here? TKTK of you, a
• 2:48
Speaker 2: FanDuel Profit Boost Token. The fun doesn't stop here. You
• 2:52
Speaker 2: might be wondering, I'm having so much fun.
• 2:53
  Speaker 3: What is TKTK?
• 2:55
Speaker 2: FanDuel's College Football Pick'Em is back for week two, and
• 2:57
Speaker 2: the game is live right now. No entry fee, no wagers,
• 3:01
Speaker 2: just you and your chance to win big. Make your
• 3:02
Speaker 2: free picks before kickoff. Check out our picks on social,
• 3:06
Speaker 2: and come back each week for another shot at bonus
• 3:08
Speaker 2: bets and Profit Boost Tokens for beating Peyton and the boys.
• 3:11
Speaker 2: Download the FanDuel app, play College Football Pick'Em for free,
• 3:15
Speaker 2: Only on FanDuel. FanDuel.com slash Boston. Way to break that down.
• 3:20
Speaker 2: Have you figured out TKTK? No, I haven't. What is TKTK?
• 3:24
Speaker 3: Do we know? There's so many things. There's so many
• 3:26
Speaker 3: things that come at you on a daily basis. There's
• 3:28
Speaker 3: so many things that happen around you and you just
• 3:30
Speaker 3: let it roll off your back. Someone throws an acronym
• 3:33
  Speaker 3: at you.
• 3:35
Speaker 2: Sorry, I was two places at once.
• 3:37
Speaker 1: We got an AI translation here.
• 3:39
Speaker 2: CKTK on FanDuel is a placeholder error indicating that content
• 3:43
Speaker 2: is temporarily missing or has not yet been uploaded.
• 3:45
Speaker 3: Oh, so it's not on you.
• 3:46
Speaker 2: Got you, got you. Glad we got to the bottom
• 3:49
  Speaker 2: of that.
• 3:49
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 3:50
Speaker 1: We interrupt this episode to give you the Ford segment.
• 3:53
Speaker 1: This Ford leaderboard segment is presented by Ford. A hard
• 3:57
Speaker 1: day's work starts with one thing, someone willing to do it.
• 3:59
  Speaker 1: And where there's a will, there's a Ford F-Series truck.
• 4:02
Speaker 1: Let's get into the segment. We have the four leaderboards
• 4:05
Speaker 1: sitting here. It looks like Peyton and I, from a
• 4:07
Speaker 1: win-loss standpoint, we're the exact same. Peyton has edged me
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: out right now.
• 4:11
Speaker 2: He has 3.2. 3.2 units. I'm sitting in second at 2.68.
• 4:17
Speaker 1: And then Will Compton in a strong third place at
• 4:20
  Speaker 1: negative 11.39.
• 4:21
  Speaker 2: Top three.
• 4:22
Speaker 3: They're back in operating.
• 4:31
  Speaker 2: Down 67%.
• 4:32
Speaker 1: Will, you're not in the NFL locker room, but last year,
• 4:35
Speaker 1: Delaney Walker started abysmal. Probably the worst start anyone's ever
• 4:39
Speaker 1: seen in a gambling season. and ended up coming back
• 4:42
Speaker 1: and winning. So I think that's good to watch Delaney
• 4:45
Speaker 1: focus on what he's been doing in the offseason and
• 4:47
Speaker 1: kind of taking over that kind of game plan.
• 4:49
Speaker 2: I expect a big November out of you. Dude, I
• 4:51
Speaker 2: expect a big week two out of Willie.
• 4:53
  Speaker 4: Oh, really?
• 4:54
Speaker 2: Let me tell you guys. You guys know this philosophy.
• 4:57
Speaker 2: In a world of massive pessimism, what is there? Pessimism.
• 5:00
Speaker 2: There's opportunity. Okay. If the stock market crashes, what is
• 5:03
Speaker 2: the opportunist going to do? Put the money in. Buy, buy, buy.
• 5:06
Speaker 2: If the housing market crashes, what's an opportunist going to do? Buy, buy, buy.
• 5:09
Speaker 2: If Willie C is down 67% after week one, what's
• 5:12
Speaker 2: the opportunist going to do? Bet on Peyton Taylor. Bet
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: on Willie C. Bet on Willie C. I took a
• 5:17
Speaker 2: big punch to the gut.
• 5:18
  Speaker 3: So what?
• 5:19
Speaker 2: I'm standing here. I'm looking at all of you right now.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: Who's going to feel confident after going down 67%? Nobody,
• 5:24
Speaker 2: except for Willie C. And I feel good about my
• 5:26
Speaker 2: picks this week. You feel great about your picks this week.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: I like my bag this week. I am a little
• 5:30
Speaker 2: confused on a few games. Josh Pate has a question.
• 5:32
Speaker 3: What I'm going to say is not my thought. This
• 5:34
Speaker 3: is not me talking.
• 5:35
  Speaker 2: Oh, no.
• 5:36
Speaker 3: I'm going to say the pessimist would look at you
• 5:39
Speaker 3: and say, how do you know you hit the floor?
• 5:42
Speaker 3: How do you know you didn't fall some of the
• 5:44
Speaker 3: way but then the dust clears, it's like national treasure.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: They're falling down the shaft, but then they look down
• 5:48
Speaker 3: and they still can't see the bottom. Or to put
• 5:51
Speaker 3: it another way, how do you know it won't get
• 5:52
Speaker 3: worse this week? That's what the pessimist would say.
• 5:56
Speaker 2: Man in the arena. Yep.
• 5:57
Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
• 5:58
Speaker 2: Like I've been throughout. When in doubt, Roosevelt. Man in
• 6:03
Speaker 2: the arena. Like you don't think I've been down 67%
• 6:05
Speaker 2: of my life in some phase? In multiple phases of
• 6:08
Speaker 2: my life. Like I've seen the bottom. I know what
• 6:10
  Speaker 2: it looks like.
• 6:11
  Speaker 4: Yep.
• 6:13
Speaker 2: Man in the arena.
• 6:14
  Speaker 3: I'll tell him.
• 6:17
Speaker 2: Man in the arena. First show was in the books.
• 6:21
  Speaker 2: ESPN show.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: How about that time?
• 6:23
Speaker 2: That was a fun time. Josh Payne, really, you ran
• 6:26
Speaker 2: a lot of that.
• 6:27
Speaker 1: And the first, it's really our first time doing actual
• 6:30
Speaker 1: television or hosting a show on real television. I thought
• 6:33
Speaker 1: you came in and did an incredible job. My favorite
• 6:35
Speaker 1: part of the entire show is when they're in our
• 6:38
Speaker 1: ear going into like the third break and Will is
• 6:41
Speaker 1: giving a breakdown of what's to come.
• 6:42
Speaker 2: Hey, we got the A gap next. And we, in
• 6:45
Speaker 2: all of our ears here, 10 seconds.
• 6:48
Speaker 5: So Will's greatest decision was instead of letting it fade
• 6:55
Speaker 5: out and having nine, eight seconds of just quiet as
• 6:57
Speaker 5: people look at the landscape of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, it's
• 7:01
Speaker 5: Will counted down with us.
• 7:03
Speaker 1: We got nine seconds, eight until we go to a
• 7:06
  Speaker 1: commercial break.
• 7:07
Speaker 2: Stick with me here. Have some empathy. It's the first time.
• 7:10
Speaker 2: It was the most bustle with.
• 7:11
Speaker 1: The boys S thing I've ever seen on mainstream television.
• 7:13
Speaker 2: It was amazing. Yeah. When we get back.
• 7:15
Speaker 3: Oh, I'm hearing we got 10 seconds left.
• 7:17
  Speaker 2: Nice. Yeah.
• 7:19
Speaker 3: We worked it out.
• 7:19
  Speaker 2: It was awesome.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: We worked it out.
• 7:21
Speaker 1: It was a good showing in Baton Rouge. We expect
• 7:24
Speaker 1: a good showing in Ann Arbor. Ann Arbor right now,
• 7:27
Speaker 1: it's in chaos. It's down 67%. The pessimists would sit
• 7:31
Speaker 1: there and say, how do you know this is not
• 7:32
Speaker 1: rock bottom? We'll find out this week. But the only
• 7:35
Speaker 1: way to really get a good gauge, a good temp,
• 7:37
Speaker 1: on that town is to see who shows up on Friday.
• 7:41
Speaker 1: Shows up on Friday at Ferry Field, are they going
• 7:44
Speaker 1: to come, show out, and be ready to take on Oklahoma.
• 7:47
Speaker 2: Before we get into the breakdown of it, where are
• 7:50
Speaker 2: you at? Like friend to friend checking on my board.
• 7:53
Speaker 2: Because you've seen a lot of phrases. The Michigan Bell Mary,
• 7:57
Speaker 2: the Michigan Screwjob, the Michigan Miracle. Where are you at?
• 8:04
Speaker 2: in your mind, mentally, physically, and emotionally?
• 8:07
Speaker 1: You take 24 hours to digest what's taking place. I
• 8:10
Speaker 1: think the best thing for this school is that even
• 8:13
Speaker 1: though there is a win, we have a win in
• 8:15
Speaker 1: week one, nothing feels like a win in that game.
• 8:19
Speaker 1: Most people would actually say that we didn't actually win
• 8:21
Speaker 1: that game, that the Big Ten went behind the max back,
• 8:24
Speaker 1: stabbed them, and allowed us to have one more second
• 8:26
  Speaker 1: on the clock.
• 8:28
Speaker 2: It is what it is. 47 yard Hail Mary.
• 8:30
Speaker 1: I don't know what the odds are in that, but
• 8:32
Speaker 1: to do that twice and get one is I think
• 8:34
Speaker 1: a way better stat than it would be for anybody else.
• 8:39
Speaker 2: I see the fan base. Rush the field. My initial
• 8:42
Speaker 2: thought on that is yuck. I don't like it. It
• 8:45
Speaker 2: makes me feel hesitant. I pulled the leash back a little.
• 8:47
Speaker 2: People hated your celebration. People hated my celebration. That's where
• 8:50
  Speaker 2: I was going.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: It was like, then I look at my celebration and
• 8:52
Speaker 1: as we're leaving Baton Rouge and flying back to Nashville,
• 8:56
Speaker 1: I'm like, I can't believe you just kind of got excited.
• 8:58
Speaker 1: I think I can't believe you got that excited about
• 9:00
Speaker 1: Western Michigan. And the reality is this. Those fans in
• 9:04
Speaker 1: that stadium and myself at the tarmac, we're not getting
• 9:07
Speaker 1: excited about beating a Mac team who won the Mac
• 9:10
Speaker 1: last year, actually a really good team. They're going to
• 9:12
Speaker 1: be solid this year.
• 9:13
Speaker 2: Kudos to Western. Yeah. We are.
• 9:16
Speaker 1: excited at the idea that our season isn't over. Because
• 9:19
Speaker 1: if you lose that game, the season is over. All
• 9:23
Speaker 1: the hopes and everyone buying stock in August and July
• 9:27
Speaker 1: and people talking about Bryce Underwood's camp, how much better
• 9:29
Speaker 1: he looks, look how great our roster is. Kyle Whittingham
• 9:32
Speaker 1: sitting at a press conference saying he will give him
• 9:34
Speaker 1: an A plus in the season. It just all feels
• 9:36
  Speaker 1: like a lie.
• 9:36
  Speaker 2: At that point.
• 9:37
Speaker 1: And the only thing you would have to hang your
• 9:38
Speaker 1: hat on is regardless of what people said or what
• 9:41
Speaker 1: people want to believe, we're 1-0. So that's me celebrating
• 9:45
Speaker 1: the same way the fans are of like, Western Michigan
• 9:48
Speaker 1: has nothing to do with it. It's what our season
• 9:52
Speaker 1: is still alive. That's what makes the excitement and all
• 9:55
Speaker 1: the rushing rushing the field.
• 9:57
Speaker 2: Do I love them rushing the field? No. Do I
• 9:59
Speaker 2: love me jumping up and down and hugging Peyton Klump? No,
• 10:02
  Speaker 2: I don't. I don't love that.
• 10:03
Speaker 1: That has to be my reaction in week one versus
• 10:05
Speaker 1: a max school. But that's the, that was the most
• 10:07
Speaker 1: honest reaction I could have possibly had.
• 10:09
  Speaker 2: MFSGA.
• 10:11
  Speaker 3: TKTK.
• 10:15
  Speaker 2: Mayfield.
• 10:15
  Speaker 3: Oh.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: And that's a good opportunity to bring up how people
• 10:21
Speaker 1: want to tell people how to fan. Like guys can't
• 10:25
Speaker 1: run on the field and be excited about their team.
• 10:27
Speaker 2: Seriously. Saved an entire 2026 season. Yeah.
• 10:29
Speaker 1: Possibly saved an entire 2026 season. Because there's a lot
• 10:33
Speaker 1: of examples out there that we can look at in
• 10:35
Speaker 1: a week one or early in the season for college
• 10:37
Speaker 1: teams in the past that have gotten their ass kicked
• 10:39
Speaker 1: in one week. and then go on to win the
• 10:41
Speaker 1: national championship, lose to an inferior opponent, and make it
• 10:44
Speaker 1: to a national championship. We have plenty of examples of that.
• 10:48
Speaker 1: So for someone to say, hey, make field storming great again,
• 10:51
Speaker 1: it's just one of those things where it's like, why
• 10:54
Speaker 1: are we gatekeeping fandom? People can't go out and fan
• 10:57
Speaker 1: the way they want. The only thing I will not
• 11:00
Speaker 1: stand for when it comes to fandom is jumping off
• 11:02
Speaker 1: the bandwagon of your team so early. That's a fake fan.
• 11:06
Speaker 1: Someone who, when the stuff gets a little tough, you're
• 11:08
Speaker 1: in the trenches, you sit there and you're like, you
• 11:10
  Speaker 1: know what?
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: I'm out.
• 11:12
Speaker 3: You gotta be a trench guy.
• 11:14
Speaker 1: If you're going to say, I'm putting my name behind
• 11:16
Speaker 1: this team, the first time adversity strikes, you don't just
• 11:20
  Speaker 1: run and hide.
• 11:21
Speaker 2: You don't just, you don't run away. You stick with
• 11:23
  Speaker 2: your team.
• 11:24
Speaker 1: And if you make a statement two weeks prior saying,
• 11:27
Speaker 1: I'm not judging my team, Until week two, you stay
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: with that team.
• 11:31
Speaker 2: You don't waver inside of adversity.
• 11:33
Speaker 1: When there's turbulence on a plane, if you were to
• 11:35
Speaker 1: look at the flight attendant and she's shitting her pants,
• 11:38
Speaker 1: you're not going to be feeling pretty good. Be the
• 11:39
Speaker 1: flight attendant for your team when things aren't going well.
• 11:41
Speaker 2: That's what you need.
• 11:43
Speaker 3: It seems really, really personal.
• 11:45
  Speaker 2: No, no.
• 11:45
Speaker 3: Are you talking to the wall behind me or are
• 11:47
Speaker 3: you talking to me?
• 11:48
Speaker 2: It's more at... Thank you.
• 11:51
Speaker 1: My statement is more at this toxic warehouse that we
• 11:56
Speaker 1: live in where people want to sit and tell people
• 11:59
Speaker 1: how to be a fan. We've got great fans in
• 12:01
Speaker 1: this building. Every single one of you are great fans.
• 12:05
Speaker 1: But because someone hasn't been a fan long enough or.
• 12:08
Speaker 2: They, okay, not Jared. Well, clump fan how you want.
• 12:14
Speaker 2: Fan how you want.
• 12:16
Speaker 1: If you're going to tie your name to a team,
• 12:19
Speaker 1: It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if things are going
• 12:22
Speaker 1: well or not. At some point, you have to be
• 12:24
Speaker 1: realistic about your team, but not in week two.
• 12:26
Speaker 3: Not in week two.
• 12:27
Speaker 2: Never in week two. You do that after week two.
• 12:31
Speaker 2: You do that after week five.
• 12:33
Speaker 1: But if fans want to be excited about the fact
• 12:36
Speaker 1: that their dreams of 2026 season, do we forget that
• 12:39
Speaker 1: we sat here March, April, May, and we see the
• 12:43
Speaker 1: world start to get nasty.
• 12:44
Speaker 2: A war started. around the world. June and July. Because
• 12:49
  Speaker 2: football wasn't around.
• 12:50
  Speaker 3: That was it.
• 12:51
Speaker 1: People say it's because football wasn't around. Now we get
• 12:54
Speaker 1: to football and we have all these fan bases that
• 12:56
Speaker 1: have hopes and dreams and aspirations of reaching the pinnacle.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: And you almost lose to a Mac team. And at
• 13:04
Speaker 1: the last second, some say after the last second, you
• 13:08
Speaker 1: get a second chance at life. You're rebirthed and you
• 13:11
Speaker 1: have your opportunity to keep your playoff dreams alive. I
• 13:15
Speaker 1: think that deserves storming on the field. I think you
• 13:17
Speaker 1: can fan however you want, but what we will not
• 13:19
Speaker 1: do is turn our backs on the team that we love.
• 13:21
Speaker 2: After one week. That's how I feel about that.
• 13:23
Speaker 3: We will not do that.
• 13:24
Speaker 2: That's how I feel about that. Hmm.
• 13:28
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 13:34
Speaker 2: I'm trying to figure out where he is mentally, physically,
• 13:36
Speaker 2: and emotionally. I feel like a lot was happening there
• 13:38
Speaker 2: to where one time I thought it was kind of
• 13:40
Speaker 2: directed at Peyton. No, actually, none of that was ever
• 13:42
Speaker 2: directed at you. I thought we were talking how you.
• 13:44
Speaker 3: He just stared a hole in me, but it wasn't
• 13:45
  Speaker 3: directed at me.
• 13:46
  Speaker 2: Then he goes.
• 13:47
Speaker 1: You were like my direct line of sight. So that's
• 13:49
Speaker 1: when you thought it was at you. I thought I'd
• 13:51
Speaker 1: turn to who this is really about.
• 13:53
Speaker 2: As I keep going.
• 13:54
Speaker 3: But can I tell you? Can I tell you?
• 13:55
  Speaker 2: Go ahead.
• 13:56
Speaker 3: You were seated right next to me. He was across
• 13:58
Speaker 3: from us. And there was... what was hour 15, hour
• 14:01
Speaker 3: 10 minute flight back from Baton Rouge. And there was
• 14:03
  Speaker 3: like a solid, I don't know, 10 or 15 minute
• 14:06
Speaker 3: chunk after the high had worn off. And you're all
• 14:10
Speaker 3: kind of looking at your phone. How long is it
• 14:11
Speaker 3: until we land? There was about a 10 or 15
• 14:13
Speaker 3: minute chunk where you kind of had this look. And
• 14:17
Speaker 3: it was kind of, you're not looking at anyone. You're
• 14:19
Speaker 3: kind of just, you're lost in your thoughts. And at
• 14:22
Speaker 3: that point, I didn't say anything because I wanted to
• 14:24
Speaker 3: take it all in. And I wanted to give you
• 14:25
Speaker 3: your space to take it all in. And then you
• 14:27
Speaker 3: kind of broke and you said, we rushed the field
• 14:31
Speaker 3: against Western Michigan after beating them. But, but I basically
• 14:35
Speaker 3: rushed my own field. And so you owned it in
• 14:38
Speaker 3: the moment. We were all witnessing it, experiencing it. And
• 14:40
Speaker 3: that moment I said, Wednesday is still a long way away.
• 14:45
Speaker 3: Where will he be Wednesday? And I got to tell you,
• 14:47
Speaker 3: I'm happy. Are you? I'm very happy for you. You're back.
• 14:51
  Speaker 2: I'm back.
• 14:51
Speaker 3: You're back. And you're going to, you're going to board
• 14:53
Speaker 3: a plane and you're going to go up there Friday
• 14:55
Speaker 3: and And you're going to pick whoever you pick to
• 14:57
Speaker 3: win the game. I'm sure there'll be some honest, thorough analysis.
• 15:01
Speaker 3: You'll give Oklahoma a good look. And then come what may,
• 15:04
Speaker 3: it'll tee up and we'll kick it off Saturday at
• 15:06
Speaker 3: noon Eastern time, right? Michigan Eastern time?
• 15:08
Speaker 2: Yep. Yep. Yep. Noon Eastern time.
• 15:10
Speaker 3: A lot of people see pessimism. A lot of people
• 15:12
Speaker 3: see a reason to sell. But isn't there also maybe
• 15:14
Speaker 3: an opportunity to buy in here at the very, very
• 15:18
Speaker 3: bottom of the barrel? Because as angry as I was
• 15:21
Speaker 3: at the procedure and the way the Big Ten office
• 15:24
Speaker 3: handled it, that's in this cup right here. The Michigan
• 15:28
Speaker 3: Cup's like a whole separate cup. The Michigan Cup is, yeah,
• 15:31
Speaker 3: the offense didn't look anything like I hoped it would. Yeah,
• 15:34
Speaker 3: it was a lethargic performance. But what did I expect
• 15:36
Speaker 3: them to do? I expected them to start 1-0. Record
• 15:39
Speaker 3: book says 1-0. So now Oklahoma comes to town and
• 15:43
Speaker 3: you know, we get to do, we get to put
• 15:44
Speaker 3: the wounded animal theory to test.
• 15:46
  Speaker 2: The difference is.
• 15:47
Speaker 6: Normally, no one loves them more, but normally the wounded
• 15:54
Speaker 6: animals coming off a loss, you're coming off a win
• 15:57
Speaker 6: and everyone's treating it like a loss.
• 15:59
Speaker 3: And now you get an opportunity against an Oklahoma team.
• 16:03
Speaker 3: You went to their building, they beat you last year.
• 16:05
Speaker 3: They come to your building and you got a really,
• 16:07
Speaker 3: really good defense and the whole world's going to doubt you.
• 16:09
Speaker 3: And so I have, I've looked at this game ever
• 16:12
Speaker 3: since the previous one ended and I've said, I know
• 16:15
Speaker 3: what America's reaction is about to be. Is that going
• 16:18
Speaker 3: to be my reaction?
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: It's loud.
• 16:20
Speaker 2: The whole country is against Michigan right now. Michigan is
• 16:23
Speaker 2: essentially the LSU of the big time.
• 16:25
Speaker 3: Let me, okay, let's throw this out there. Let's throw
• 16:27
  Speaker 3: this out there.
• 16:28
Speaker 2: Because that's a very, very, very loaded statement.
• 16:30
Speaker 3: As far as public opinion.
• 16:31
Speaker 2: As far as public opinion.
• 16:31
Speaker 3: It's like wanting them to lose.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: Clearly the offense is not the same right now. That's
• 16:34
Speaker 2: not what I'm saying, fellas.
• 16:35
Speaker 1: It will get there.
• 16:37
Speaker 2: Yes, it will. That's a great take.
• 16:38
Speaker 3: This year will it get there?
• 16:40
Speaker 1: Listen, I reserve my true opinion about Michigan until after
• 16:43
  Speaker 1: week two.
• 16:45
Speaker 3: Do you think the whole world's against Michigan or the
• 16:48
Speaker 3: world's angry at the big 10?
• 16:50
Speaker 1: I don't think the world has zoomed out enough to
• 16:53
Speaker 1: realize they should be angry at the big 10.
• 16:54
Speaker 3: Shame on the world.
• 16:55
Speaker 2: Shame on the world. Indeed. I think.
• 16:57
Speaker 1: Because of 21 through 23, all the stuff that happened
• 17:01
Speaker 1: with Sharon Moore in the off season this past year,
• 17:03
Speaker 1: there's clearly a negative light that is on Michigan. I
• 17:06
Speaker 1: am not too ignorant to see that. And because this
• 17:09
Speaker 1: comes up and the logo is Michigan, they don't see
• 17:13
Speaker 1: that they don't make the call and make the decision
• 17:15
Speaker 1: for an extra second or the second not to be
• 17:17
Speaker 1: fully done. That is a big 10 decision that took place.
• 17:21
Speaker 1: Michigan is catching shrapnel because of the last four or
• 17:23
  Speaker 1: five years.
• 17:24
  Speaker 2: And I can.
• 17:25
Speaker 1: fully get on board with that. I can understand why
• 17:27
Speaker 1: the hate's there. I can understand why like people that
• 17:30
Speaker 1: aren't even Oklahoma fans are gonna fly to this game
• 17:32
Speaker 1: just to root against Michigan. And I think that's exactly
• 17:35
Speaker 1: where Michigan needs to be right now.
• 17:37
Speaker 2: I'll tell you this too.
• 17:38
Speaker 1: Around noon central time yesterday, we were sitting in this
• 17:42
Speaker 1: nice air conditioning office and what was taking place in
• 17:44
Speaker 1: Ann Arbor on that practice field will be forever known
• 17:46
Speaker 1: as Bloody Tuesday. I have been told that is one
• 17:51
Speaker 1: of the most physical and painful practices that any program's
• 17:56
Speaker 1: gone through in the last 25 years. And there's a
• 18:00
Speaker 1: big issue with physicality on the line of scrimmage. I
• 18:03
Speaker 1: think they got after it yesterday in a way that
• 18:08
Speaker 1: I'm hoping will show up on Saturday.
• 18:09
Speaker 2: In a way that you can't really write in a
• 18:11
Speaker 2: book because it was that bloody.
• 18:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't write that. You can't put that in
• 18:14
  Speaker 1: a Disney movie.
• 18:15
Speaker 2: I know that. You can't do that. Is there a
• 18:17
Speaker 2: part of you that's like bloody Tuesday in week two?
• 18:21
Speaker 2: this soon already? Like we just got out of training camp.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: Given the circumstances of what took place and how lethargic,
• 18:28
Speaker 1: your words, of Michigan was on the opposite side of
• 18:30
Speaker 1: the ball, yes. And you go back and watch the
• 18:33
Speaker 1: first drive, like it was like the first, they marched
• 18:35
Speaker 1: on the field 75 yards and score.
• 18:37
Speaker 2: But they didn't play clean. They had a botched snap.
• 18:41
Speaker 2: Bryce threw in a double coverage at one point. The
• 18:44
Speaker 2: run game wasn't super efficient. Even the one that Bryce
• 18:47
Speaker 2: almost scored on where he rolled out, if that was handed,
• 18:49
Speaker 2: that would have been a touchdown right away. There were
• 18:51
Speaker 2: things you saw where it's like, yeah, the result was six,
• 18:54
Speaker 2: but it wasn't like, wow, look at this operation taking place.
• 18:57
Speaker 1: The line of scrimmage wasn't moving the way it was
• 18:59
  Speaker 1: supposed to move.
• 19:00
  Speaker 2: I can tell you're a caged animal and you're ready
• 19:02
Speaker 2: to cook, so I'm just going to interject and just
• 19:04
Speaker 2: say what the line is on this game, and you
• 19:06
Speaker 2: can keep going and build off of last week's performance.
• 19:08
Speaker 2: But right now, surprise, surprise, Oklahoma at Michigan, the line
• 19:11
Speaker 2: right now has moved. It is now 4.5. Oklahoma's favored
• 19:15
Speaker 2: by 4.5. The over-under on this game, the total is 43.5.
• 19:22
Speaker 2: Go ahead, continue to get in the kitchen. I've said
• 19:24
  Speaker 2: a lot.
• 19:24
Speaker 1: I'd love to hear your guys' opinion about where this
• 19:27
Speaker 1: game stands. I've kind of given my opinion. We can
• 19:31
Speaker 1: talk about the game. I think Oklahoma's a great football team.
• 19:35
Speaker 2: But go ahead. I think this is Bryce Underwood's biggest
• 19:39
Speaker 2: game of his life. Agreed. Because you listen to Coach
• 19:42
Speaker 2: Whittingham come out this past week in press conferences, and
• 19:45
Speaker 2: the feeling seems to be that his name is written
• 19:48
Speaker 2: in pencil as a starter. Even everybody who last year
• 19:52
Speaker 2: where Bryce Underwood was either playing well or he wasn't
• 19:55
Speaker 2: playing well, it was up and down, it was up
• 19:56
Speaker 2: and down, and then coming into this year, it was confidence.
• 19:59
Speaker 2: Now I feel like that confidence in the public favoritism
• 20:02
Speaker 2: of Bryce Underwood has now turned and your fingers are
• 20:05
Speaker 2: crossed behind your back, hoping that he is going to
• 20:08
Speaker 2: turn it around because like everybody is now on the
• 20:10
Speaker 2: fence of Bryce Underwood. Because you look at last game,
• 20:13
Speaker 2: like it was, it was not very good to put
• 20:16
Speaker 2: it as lightly as possible. Bryce is a first read cat.
• 20:22
Speaker 2: Every throw that I seen him break down, because there
• 20:24
  Speaker 2: wasn't a lot. I had a little jokingly sarcastic tweet.
• 20:27
Speaker 2: Great news. Michigan didn't show a lot of offense when
• 20:29
Speaker 2: they face Oklahoma next week. But again, there wasn't a
• 20:32
Speaker 2: whole lot of offense shown because out of the 12
• 20:34
Speaker 2: throws that Bryce has, five of them are screens. And
• 20:38
Speaker 2: then you have the other ones that happen. He has
• 20:42
Speaker 2: an interception or a pick six that does get called back, right?
• 20:44
Speaker 1: He said the DB steps out of bounds. But he
• 20:47
Speaker 1: had one in the first quarter as well. And only
• 20:50
Speaker 1: because the DB tips it while his foot is out
• 20:52
Speaker 1: of bounds that it wasn't an interception.
• 20:53
Speaker 2: His only big throws were the Hail Mary and then
• 20:56
Speaker 2: a botched snap that he fumbles and he throws it up.
• 20:58
Speaker 2: And my man... One hands it. But other than that,
• 21:01
Speaker 2: he knows where he's going pre-snap, and he's going there
• 21:04
Speaker 2: no matter what. The pick six, the throwing into a
• 21:07
Speaker 2: cloud corner, and he gets his tight end yopped. And
• 21:10
Speaker 2: he's kind of smiling after it. I don't really know
• 21:13
Speaker 2: if he's meaning it. I have no clue. And then
• 21:15
Speaker 2: other throws where he's trying to get the ball downfield,
• 21:18
Speaker 2: he's forcing into double coverage. He's not going through any progression.
• 21:23
Speaker 2: But if Michigan's going to have a shot to win
• 21:24
Speaker 2: this game, in my opinion, they're going to have to
• 21:26
Speaker 2: do two things. play penalty-free because they shot themselves in
• 21:30
Speaker 2: the foot a lot with penalties, and they're just going
• 21:32
Speaker 2: to have to win on early downs because this Oklahoma
• 21:36
Speaker 2: defense is fast. They're physical. They get after your ass.
• 21:40
Speaker 2: And offensively, there's just not a lot of hope in
• 21:44
Speaker 2: my brain that Bryce is just going to turn it
• 21:46
Speaker 2: around all of a sudden. when his coach is kind
• 21:48
Speaker 2: of saying his name's written in pencil, when everybody's on him,
• 21:51
Speaker 2: they're on the fence now of not being really confident.
• 21:53
Speaker 2: They got their fingers behind their back. And it's like
• 21:56
Speaker 2: all of that pressure, I know he gets paid a
• 21:58
Speaker 2: shit ton of money, but all of that going on
• 22:01
Speaker 2: in the psyche of a 19 year old that knows
• 22:04
Speaker 2: Only he knows if he's going to get to where
• 22:06
Speaker 2: he's working his progression.
• 22:07
Speaker 1: And one more thing on Bryce is like, yeah, he's 19.
• 22:09
Speaker 1: He's making a bunch of money. But this is probably
• 22:11
Speaker 1: the first time in his life he's dealing with this
• 22:13
Speaker 1: type of adversity from people judging you in a negative
• 22:16
Speaker 1: light on the field.
• 22:16
Speaker 2: Yeah. Torrey, he's truly getting questioned as a football player. Yes.
• 22:20
Speaker 1: Your identity that you've probably had since whenever you put
• 22:23
Speaker 1: the cleats on for the first time is now in
• 22:25
Speaker 1: question that you're not who you thought you were.
• 22:26
Speaker 2: Yeah. Publicly. And then when you look at Oklahoma and
• 22:29
Speaker 2: John Mateer, to me, John Mateer is what you hope
• 22:32
Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood would be. Because when I watch Mateer, like
• 22:34
Speaker 2: he didn't have all the biggest stat line in the world.
• 22:37
Speaker 2: But when you watch him play, he's somebody that has
• 22:39
Speaker 2: very calm feet. He seems very confident. He's going through
• 22:43
Speaker 2: progressions when he is in those moments of throwing the
• 22:45
Speaker 2: ball downfield. There's one clip out there. where he's got
• 22:48
Speaker 2: a fire zone coming in his face. And his first
• 22:51
Speaker 2: read is the seam flat player where it looks like
• 22:54
Speaker 2: it's man to man. He feels like he's a little
• 22:55
Speaker 2: too tight, but his feet are calm and poised to
• 22:58
Speaker 2: where he goes backside and hits old buddy over the
• 23:00
Speaker 2: middle while he's getting hit. The run game, you can
• 23:03
Speaker 2: tell that they want to establish the run. What is it, Avant,
• 23:06
Speaker 2: number nine? Yeah, number nine. You can tell that this
• 23:09
Speaker 2: is a team that wants to be physical and run
• 23:11
Speaker 2: the ball this year based on how bad they were
• 23:13
Speaker 2: at the line of scrimmage last year. And you go to,
• 23:16
Speaker 2: they're going to see a lot of, Michigan is going
• 23:18
Speaker 2: to see a lot of 12 personnel sets. They might
• 23:20
Speaker 2: open it up a little bit more. Oklahoma might not
• 23:22
Speaker 2: have shown a lot last week, but they're going to
• 23:24
Speaker 2: be in a lot of two tight end sets and
• 23:26
Speaker 2: those boys can block.
• 23:28
Speaker 3: Those dudes can block, man.
• 23:30
Speaker 2: There's not going to be a lot of film that
• 23:31
Speaker 2: you see on these tight ends to where they had
• 23:33
Speaker 2: an MA, a misassignment or lost physically at the line
• 23:35
Speaker 2: of scrimmage. So I feel like all of that, I
• 23:37
  Speaker 2: trust Michigan's defense. I trust Oklahoma's defense. I'm confident about
• 23:43
Speaker 2: Oklahoma feeling good offensively. I feel like I haven't seen
• 23:46
Speaker 2: enough there. This is a massive John Mateer game because
• 23:48
Speaker 2: he's going to be put in those situations where it's
• 23:50
Speaker 2: third and medium and he's going to have to make
• 23:51
Speaker 2: some magic with his feet or keep his eyes downfield.
• 23:54
Speaker 2: I like the under most in this game just because
• 23:57
Speaker 2: the way it swung, Michigan kind of being in a
• 23:59
Speaker 2: wounded animal situation. They're going to obviously open up the
• 24:03
Speaker 2: playbook and you just hope Bryce Underwood is going to
• 24:07
Speaker 2: make the correct decisions, run the ball a little bit more,
• 24:10
  Speaker 2: go through progressions.
• 24:11
  Speaker 3: I don't feel like it's there, but where I'm.
• 24:13
Speaker 2: Going to go with my bet, I'm going to go
• 24:15
Speaker 2: two units on the under, Oklahoma, Michigan. I like that pick.
• 24:20
Speaker 2: That's where my analysis is gonna be. I like that pick. Joshua?
• 24:23
  Speaker 3: Quick potty break.
• 24:24
Speaker 2: Boom. Lucy, shout out Lucy. No free shout outs. This
• 24:28
Speaker 2: is the daily. Espresso is my favorite. Hands down and
• 24:31
Speaker 2: that bite and burst thing where it pops in your
• 24:32
Speaker 2: mouth and hits you with flavor. God, I can't get
• 24:34
Speaker 2: enough of it. It never gets old. I mostly use
• 24:37
Speaker 2: it to lock in. Whether I need a little energy boost, pre-workout, post-workout,
• 24:40
Speaker 2: doesn't matter. It works every which way. These bad boys
• 24:43
Speaker 2: go up to 12 milligrams. So if you need a
• 24:45
Speaker 2: little something with a little more kick, They've got you covered.
• 24:48
Speaker 2: And the thing we respect most, independently owned, proudly American made,
• 24:53
Speaker 2: not some big tobacco brand playing dress up. And that
• 24:56
Speaker 2: matters to the boys. Lucy is the only pouch doing
• 24:59
Speaker 2: long lasting on demand flavor like this. You can get 20%

• 25:16
Speaker 2: nicotine is an addictive chemical. Let's get back to the conversation.
• 25:20
Speaker 3: It would really shock me if Michigan got run off
• 25:22
Speaker 3: the field. It would not shock me at all if
• 25:24
Speaker 3: Michigan won the game. It's like waves in a bathtub.
• 25:27
Speaker 3: That's how college football works. That's it doesn't just stay
• 25:30
Speaker 3: on one side. Like every action has a reaction. I
• 25:33
Speaker 3: don't know if it's equal or opposite. So you and
• 25:36
Speaker 3: I were talking about. The concept that sometimes teams just
• 25:40
Speaker 3: are not ready to play what they know is an
• 25:42
Speaker 3: inferior opponent. And then the result will track, which is
• 25:46
Speaker 3: kind of a version of what happened last week. Now,
• 25:48
Speaker 3: maybe there are just terminal flaws with this team, but
• 25:50
Speaker 3: like you said, we don't know that. It's week one.
• 25:52
Speaker 3: So week two comes around, Oklahoma comes to town. Let's
• 25:56
Speaker 3: say that dynamic was in place. I don't have to
• 25:57
Speaker 3: worry about that against Oklahoma. I know everyone will be
• 26:00
Speaker 3: up against Oklahoma. So I'm going to get your absolute best.
• 26:03
Speaker 3: At this point, we've got to find out what your
• 26:04
Speaker 3: best is. I think it's really dumb, like you said,
• 26:07
Speaker 3: for anyone to think, oh, man, Bryce Underwood's got to
• 26:09
Speaker 3: step up and win this game. You're not going to
• 26:11
Speaker 3: get a great game out of him. You're not going
• 26:12
Speaker 3: to get a great box score game out of him.
• 26:14
Speaker 3: What you can get is what Georgia Tech did last
• 26:17
Speaker 3: year with Haynes King, knowing what you got at quarterback
• 26:21
Speaker 3: and running the crap out of him. because that's what
• 26:24
Speaker 3: gives you the best chance to win. And I can
• 26:26
Speaker 3: tell you those two tailbacks going 16 for 59 yards,
• 26:29
Speaker 3: that's not going to get it done. Like to me,
• 26:31
Speaker 3: I know Bryce Young or Bryce Underwood rather is the
• 26:34
Speaker 3: face of all this, but like offensive line not taking
• 26:38
Speaker 3: over the game last week, those tailbacks not taking over
• 26:41
Speaker 3: the game, like collectively, just as a team, even if
• 26:44
Speaker 3: it's close at half, even if it's close mid third quarter,
• 26:47
Speaker 3: you're Michigan. Eventually you just lean and you lean and
• 26:49
Speaker 3: you lean and they break cause they're Western and you're
• 26:52
Speaker 3: just Michigan. So that never happened. So like, there's gotta
• 26:54
Speaker 3: be a soul searching program wide. not just the quarterback position.
• 26:59
Speaker 3: And if I were to look up Saturday and let's
• 27:02
Speaker 3: say it's like 17 to 16 Michigan in the fourth quarter,
• 27:05
Speaker 3: it's probably not because Bryce Underwood's thrown for 310 yards.
• 27:09
Speaker 3: His stat line probably looks pretty pedestrian, but he's protected
• 27:12
Speaker 3: the ball. They've owned field position. They have not let
• 27:16
Speaker 3: Oklahoma be number one in red zone scoring percentage, which
• 27:20
Speaker 3: they were offensively last year. They've taken care of business
• 27:22
Speaker 3: down there. They've held them to threes. Like they've done
• 27:25
Speaker 3: the critical things, hidden yardage stuff, team football, complimentary football.
• 27:30
Speaker 3: That's what Michigan should be capable of. Like it wasn't,
• 27:33
Speaker 3: but two weeks ago, we sat here and you and I,
• 27:36
Speaker 3: and I think maybe Will contributed, but it was mainly
• 27:39
Speaker 3: you and I locked into the idea that maybe Michigan's
• 27:41
  Speaker 3: a sneaky playoff contender. I haven't forgotten why I felt
• 27:45
Speaker 3: that way. And the reasons I felt that way are
• 27:47
Speaker 3: all still on this team. The problem is that's feel.
• 27:51
Speaker 3: And eventually Oklahoma comes to town. I believe in Oklahoma too,
• 27:56
Speaker 3: but they're not smoke and mirrors. Oklahoma's not flash. They're
• 28:01
Speaker 3: not sizzle. Oklahoma's a wrecking ball. And you don't find
• 28:04
Speaker 3: yourself offensively against that kind of team. So to me,
• 28:08
Speaker 3: the path is, can I scratch out 20 points here?
• 28:12
Speaker 3: And then can I make that enough? That's, to me,
• 28:14
Speaker 3: the Michigan plan. And if they score non-offensively, great. But
• 28:18
Speaker 3: I'm saying 20 offensive points. Can I find those? And
• 28:22
Speaker 3: if I can, I'm very happy with that. And at
• 28:24
Speaker 3: that point, I take my chances. I think their shot
• 28:27
Speaker 3: here is doing that. is running Bryce Underwood as much
• 28:31
Speaker 3: as you need to, and then finding a way to
• 28:33
Speaker 3: bait John Mateer into some of those hero balls that
• 28:36
Speaker 3: he throws up sometimes, and hoping that you can get
• 28:38
Speaker 3: a pick, hoping that maybe defensively you can make something happen.
• 28:42
Speaker 3: That scenario does not surprise me at all if it happens.
• 28:45
Speaker 3: I'm like a really, really slight one-unit lean to Oklahoma
• 28:50
Speaker 3: minus four and a half, or five and a half?
• 28:52
Speaker 3: Five and a half?
• 28:53
Speaker 2: Five and a half in the last hour. Really? Because
• 28:54
Speaker 2: it was at six and a half. We got up
• 28:55
Speaker 2: to six and a half yesterday, this morning. So it's
• 29:01
Speaker 2: moving around quite a bit. It's moved to another point.
• 29:04
Speaker 3: I got to tell you.
• 29:05
Speaker 2: What do they know?
• 29:06
Speaker 3: Maybe they don't. It's bouncing all around the place. Maybe
• 29:08
Speaker 3: they don't know anything.
• 29:08
Speaker 2: They're trying to figure it out. You know the public,
• 29:10
Speaker 2: the tickets, the heavy percentage is Oklahoma. Yeah, absolutely. And
• 29:14
Speaker 2: as they should be.
• 29:15
Speaker 1: Like all the things we broke down about Michigan and
• 29:18
Speaker 1: how bad they were on offense, it was as a fan,
• 29:22
Speaker 1: like I know all the anger that's put towards Michigan.
• 29:26
Speaker 1: But the one thing that I would hang my hat
• 29:27
Speaker 1: on as a guy that wore the maize and blue
• 29:29
Speaker 1: and be excited about every single time is, any team
• 29:31
Speaker 1: that went and played Michigan, you would think to yourself like, oh,
• 29:34
Speaker 1: you have to buckle your chin strap up a little
• 29:35
Speaker 1: bit more and put some more air in your helmet.
• 29:36
Speaker 1: Because that is at the very least going to be
• 29:39
Speaker 1: an extremely physical game that there are more, more times
• 29:41
Speaker 1: than not going to win. That did not take place
• 29:44
Speaker 1: in week one. I have a lot of respect. For Oklahoma,
• 29:47
Speaker 1: clearly we had a quarter zip situation back in the playoffs.
• 29:50
Speaker 1: But still, the school, the pageantry, the blue chip, all
• 29:53
Speaker 1: of it, John Mateer bulking up, looking a whole lot better.
• 29:56
Speaker 1: I like Oklahoma a lot this year. They returned seven
• 29:59
Speaker 1: starters on the defensive side of the ball. They got
• 30:01
Speaker 1: a nose tackle that is supposed to be an elite cat.
• 30:04
Speaker 1: They got guys that are just disciplined and do not
• 30:07
Speaker 1: make mistakes. On the opposite side of the ball you
• 30:09
Speaker 1: brought up, they ran 12 a lot. They ran 12,
• 30:10
Speaker 1: 50 plays out of their, what, 63 plays? And then
• 30:12
Speaker 1: they had 11 more.
• 30:13
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 30:16
Speaker 1: On an 11 personnel. So they are, Brent Venables, which
• 30:19
Speaker 1: we've talked about, is they were horrendous at running the
• 30:21
Speaker 1: ball last year. This year, there's a concerted effort to,
• 30:24
Speaker 1: we need to run the ball better. So they get
• 30:26
Speaker 1: the two transfer tight ends, both great blockers. The one
• 30:29
Speaker 1: from Colorado State is a little bit better of a
• 30:31
  Speaker 1: pass catcher.
• 30:31
Speaker 2: Rocky Beers. Rocky Beers. What a name.
• 30:35
Speaker 3: And 89's like thick.
• 30:36
Speaker 2: You can tell he loves blocking.
• 30:37
Speaker 1: The thing that gives me Hope and optimism is Oklahoma's
• 30:43
Speaker 1: injuries that have taken place on their offensive line. Their
• 30:46
Speaker 1: left tackle, who is an elite talent, I think this
• 30:49
Speaker 1: kid's got a very special future, especially on Sundays. He's
• 30:53
Speaker 1: nursing this right arm. Like you see it throughout the game.
• 30:55
Speaker 1: I think he only played like 17 snaps and they're
• 30:57
Speaker 1: wondering if he's not. And they have a couple more
• 30:59
Speaker 1: guys that are backups that are injured that may or
• 31:01
Speaker 1: may not be back coming into Saturday. But if he
• 31:03
Speaker 1: does play, the guy going against him is John Henry Daly,
• 31:05
Speaker 1: who had 11 and a half sacks before he tore
• 31:07
Speaker 1: his Achilles last year at the University of Utah. On
• 31:09
Speaker 1: the other side of him is Dom Nichols, who had
• 31:11
Speaker 1: two sacks against a Western Michigan team that threw the
• 31:14
Speaker 1: ball like 14 times throughout the game. So this is
• 31:16
Speaker 1: a very talented, very aggressive defensive line. And I say
• 31:21
Speaker 1: defensive aggressive hesitantly Because what gets teams into trouble with
• 31:25
Speaker 1: John Mateer is over-aggression in your pass rush. So there
• 31:29
Speaker 1: has to be a level of rushing the passer, making
• 31:32
Speaker 1: John Mateer feel uncomfortable to throw those hero balls, but
• 31:36
Speaker 1: also keeping it in a cage rush where he doesn't
• 31:38
Speaker 1: have a lot of outlets to go and run. Because
• 31:40
Speaker 1: you're going to have a Todd Bowles, a Nathaniel Staley
• 31:43
Speaker 1: out there basically mirroring John Mateer the whole time, shadowing him,
• 31:46
Speaker 1: watching him. So if he does break out of contain,
• 31:49
Speaker 1: you have a guy on him quickly so he can't
• 31:50
Speaker 1: hurt you with his legs. Offensive side of the ball.
• 31:54
Speaker 1: You have so many guys returning on the offensive line.
• 31:56
Speaker 1: I think the whole team has starting experience from last year.
• 32:02
Speaker 1: You have a little bit of an exchange taking place
• 32:04
Speaker 1: of who's going to really start at the guard position.
• 32:07
Speaker 1: But Harding, the O-line coach, he's one of the best
• 32:10
Speaker 1: O-line coaches in college football. He's had multiple first-round picks
• 32:12
Speaker 1: at the University of Utah. He's been with them for
• 32:14
Speaker 1: a long time. Then there's Bryce. And I think you
• 32:19
Speaker 1: put it perfectly about this kid– This is truly judgment
• 32:23
Speaker 1: day for him. This is not like a, hey, we'll
• 32:26
Speaker 1: get him next week type of mentality when it comes
• 32:28
Speaker 1: to Michigan. After Whittingham's thoughts about the public at the university,
• 32:32
Speaker 1: we are truly going to find out on Saturday who
• 32:36
Speaker 1: this kid is and what he's truly made of. Because
• 32:39
Speaker 1: this is the first time in his life that he's
• 32:40
Speaker 1: been backed into a corner and people have pointed out
• 32:42
Speaker 1: and be like, maybe you're not the football player we
• 32:44
Speaker 1: thought you were. And two things are going to happen.
• 32:46
Speaker 1: He's going to adapt or he's going to die. And
• 32:47
Speaker 1: I think the way you adapt is you sit there
• 32:50
Speaker 1: as Jason Beck, the offensive coordinator, and you say you
• 32:51
Speaker 1: have one, maybe two reads. And once those two reads are–
• 32:55
Speaker 1: if they're not clean, get out, use your legs.
• 32:58
  Speaker 2: You run them.
• 32:59
Speaker 1: I think there's been a lot of– negativity surrounding like
• 33:04
Speaker 1: his toughness about like when, when people are at his feet,
• 33:07
Speaker 1: when the pocket starts to close a little bit, that's
• 33:09
Speaker 1: when you see a lot of those throw in a
• 33:10
Speaker 1: double coverage, taking hits, fumbling. To me, it's like, Hey,
• 33:14
Speaker 1: like you need to prove that you're tough. You need
• 33:16
Speaker 1: to prove that you can make the decisions and you
• 33:17
Speaker 1: can take care of the football. But at the end
• 33:19
Speaker 1: of the day, one game and how bad that rush
• 33:22
Speaker 1: was when you have all of your starters back from
• 33:24
Speaker 1: the year before on the offensive line, it can't be
• 33:27
Speaker 1: that way. There's to me, it's like, We looked at
• 33:31
Speaker 1: Whittingham and it's like this coach is a winning head
• 33:34
Speaker 1: coach at a, no disrespect, a program that doesn't get
• 33:37
Speaker 1: the same amount of talent as Michigan gets. Yet every
• 33:40
Speaker 1: year he's put nine, 10 wins on the board and
• 33:43
Speaker 1: he's doing it without a drafted quarterback. The last drafted
• 33:47
Speaker 1: quarterback he has was Alex Smith in 2011. That was
• 33:51
Speaker 1: a first round pick. So all those things considered, if
• 33:54
Speaker 1: your quarterback is not doing well, Kyle Whittingham should be
• 33:57
Speaker 1: the perfect coach to have on your team. to make
• 34:01
Speaker 1: your offense still successful in those ways. You had Jordan Marshall,
• 34:04
Speaker 1: who rushed for, I think he was like 38 yards
• 34:06
Speaker 1: away from 1,000 yards last year. You have Savion Hyder,
• 34:09
Speaker 1: who was the best running back in his class.
• 34:11
  Speaker 2: You got, who's.
• 34:13
Speaker 1: The receiver, number three, Marsh. Andrew Marsh, who had almost
• 34:18
Speaker 1: 1,000 yards last year, and with a quarterback that had
• 34:20
  Speaker 1: bad numbers.
• 34:21
  Speaker 2: J.J.
• 34:21
Speaker 1: Buchanan, who was truly the only highlight of the offense.
• 34:25
Speaker 1: He had 125 yards receiving. So you have all this talent,
• 34:30
Speaker 1: Put the ball down. Make it gritty. Don't look at
• 34:34
Speaker 1: scoring a touchdown on a drive as a win or
• 34:35
Speaker 1: a loss. Sustain drives in the first and second quarter.
• 34:39
Speaker 1: Don't go three and out. Figure out a way to
• 34:40
Speaker 1: move the sticks, even if it ends up in three.
• 34:43
Speaker 1: Even if you end up taking five, six minutes off
• 34:44
Speaker 1: the clock and then end up punting. Those are the
• 34:47
Speaker 1: small things when you're in a position like this offense
• 34:49
Speaker 1: is that is going to breed success for the long
• 34:52
Speaker 1: haul because I believe that this defense is going to
• 34:54
Speaker 1: keep this game close. We have a great defense. We
• 34:58
Speaker 1: have Two corners and a safety that will play on Sundays.
• 35:02
Speaker 1: We have three Dean linemen that I believe will play
• 35:04
Speaker 1: on Sundays. We have so much talent, and Jay Hill,
• 35:07
Speaker 1: who we'll get to BYU in a little bit, had
• 35:09
Speaker 1: a top 20 defense with a BYU logo on his hat.
• 35:15
Speaker 1: And then people talk about how can you make this
• 35:18
Speaker 1: big of a turnaround? How can this take place? And
• 35:20
Speaker 1: yet we forget that two years ago, Notre Dame goes
• 35:24
  Speaker 1: and beats Texas A & M in a dramatic fashion,
• 35:26
Speaker 1: the next week lays an egg against NIU and still
• 35:28
Speaker 1: makes it to the national championship. We forget that 2014,
• 35:33
Speaker 1: Virginia Tech walked into Columbus, Ohio and beat that ass
• 35:36
Speaker 1: 35-14 and Ohio State went and won the national championship
• 35:39
Speaker 1: that year. So one week doesn't define a team. I've
• 35:42
Speaker 1: said from the beginning, week two is where I judge
• 35:44
Speaker 1: my team and I'll continue to judge my team. I
• 35:47
Speaker 1: got five units on Michigan Moneyline.
• 35:51
Speaker 2: Oh, shit. I got five units, Michigan Moneyline. If you're
• 35:54
Speaker 2: not going to back your team. Talk to them.
• 35:56
Speaker 1: If you're not going to back your team in moments
• 35:57
Speaker 1: of adversity, shame on you. That's the only thing that
• 35:59
Speaker 1: can make you a bad fan.
• 36:03
Speaker 2: Damn. You're coming for blood this way.
• 36:04
Speaker 3: This is going to be bloody Saturday for Taylor 1.
• 36:06
Speaker 1: This will be the most physical game anybody will watch
• 36:08
Speaker 1: this college football season.
• 36:11
Speaker 2: I got to, I got to. I got to digest that.
• 36:13
Speaker 2: That took me out of nowhere. I think I talked
• 36:15
  Speaker 2: for 15 minutes.
• 36:16
Speaker 3: I might have talked for 15 minutes.
• 36:18
Speaker 2: You laid out the entire roster of Michigan.
• 36:22
Speaker 1: Dude, we are going to talk about other games. This
• 36:25
Speaker 1: is the one that matters. Like all the other ones.
• 36:28
Speaker 3: Texas Ohio State, boys.
• 36:30
Speaker 1: You guys have a great time on this show. This is,
• 36:33
Speaker 1: it's more than a game. This is, dude, we sit here.
• 36:38
Speaker 4: Since the season ends, and you just hope that your teams,
• 36:42
Speaker 4: you watch the transfer portal, you watch spring ball, and
• 36:45
Speaker 4: you get to week one and that happens, I can't
• 36:47
Speaker 4: have my season end like that.
• 36:49
Speaker 2: You won't have your season end like that. I will
• 36:51
Speaker 2: not have my season end.
• 36:52
Speaker 1: And if it does, I am on the Titanic, and
• 36:56
Speaker 1: I am the captain of the ship, and I will
• 36:57
Speaker 1: watch that water come in, and I can't wait to
• 36:59
Speaker 1: drown with my team if that's the case.
• 37:01
Speaker 2: It's an honor to die with that team this weekend,
• 37:03
Speaker 2: if that's the case. So now you're dying? I'll kill myself, dude.
• 37:09
Speaker 2: It's going to be an honor to die with my
• 37:10
  Speaker 2: team this weekend.
• 37:12
  Speaker 3: We're laughing.
• 37:13
Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. Anyway, that's how I feel. Under, under,
• 37:17
Speaker 2: Michigan Moneyline. No, Josh went.
• 37:20
Speaker 3: No, I went OU. I went OU for one unit. Wow.
• 37:26
Speaker 3: You never gave it away.
• 37:27
Speaker 2: It's all words, dude.
• 37:28
Speaker 3: You never gave away.
• 37:29
Speaker 2: It's all words. I can't play the game.
• 37:31
  Speaker 3: The table slapped.
• 37:31
Speaker 2: I can't play the game. Josh, I can't play the game.
• 37:35
Speaker 3: Of course you understand.
• 37:35
  Speaker 2: I wish to God I could. I wish I could
• 37:37
Speaker 2: get out there for one more. One more round. I
• 37:40
Speaker 2: know you do, bud. Fuck, man. Where are we at next, boys?
• 37:50
Speaker 3: I'm just, you know, you try and think ahead. You
• 37:53
Speaker 3: try and plan ahead in life. And I'm just thinking Saturday, 5.30,
• 37:58
Speaker 3: 6 o'clock, dust has settled. We know the result. I
• 38:03
Speaker 3: picked Oklahoma. I think I may pull for Michigan.
• 38:07
Speaker 2: That you're in a great spot to do it because
• 38:08
Speaker 2: you only put one unit on it.
• 38:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, like I'm, if it took that to save your
• 38:12
Speaker 3: life in the most literal of senses, I may pull
• 38:17
  Speaker 3: for Michigan.
• 38:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, because five, six- He just went Josh Pather. He
• 38:21
Speaker 2: won't move his unit.
• 38:22
  Speaker 3: I know.
• 38:23
Speaker 2: And trust me, I know where the trenches are. No, no, no.
• 38:25
Speaker 3: You stay far away from the unit.
• 38:27
  Speaker 2: No, no.
• 38:28
Speaker 3: I know what I want to do in my unit.
• 38:30
Speaker 2: I'm in the trenches and I'm looking out and going, guys,
• 38:32
  Speaker 2: you coming?
• 38:33
Speaker 1: And I got one guy going, I think you're going
• 38:35
Speaker 1: to lose, but only by a little bit.
• 38:37
Speaker 2: And the other guy going, going to be a low
• 38:38
Speaker 2: scoring game. And I just got my helmet on and
• 38:41
  Speaker 2: I'm sitting there and I'm.
• 38:42
  Speaker 3: Like, there's a lot of them because there's a lot
• 38:44
  Speaker 3: of help, fellas.
• 38:46
Speaker 2: Could use some help over here. Holy shit, there's a
• 38:48
  Speaker 2: lot of them.
• 38:50
Speaker 3: There sure is, man. There really is.
• 38:52
Speaker 2: That's the whole country?
• 38:53
Speaker 3: That's the whole country coming at me?
• 38:55
Speaker 2: I'm not going to lose it. It's going to be
• 38:56
Speaker 2: low scoring. It's going to be low scoring. Good game.
• 38:58
  Speaker 2: Good game.
• 38:59
  Speaker 3: Great game.
• 39:00
Speaker 2: I hope to God it's a good game, man. Fuck. Hey,
• 39:05
Speaker 2: Tennessee at Georgia Tech. Yeah. Pays on Brandon. Pays on Brandon.
• 39:13
Speaker 2: Tennessee at Georgia Tech right now. Tennessee is favored. Faison
• 39:18
Speaker 2: Brandon's first start on the road at 12 and a half.
• 39:20
Speaker 2: The over-under on this game, 55 and a half. Josh,
• 39:25
Speaker 2: do you have a good feel about this game? Do
• 39:26
Speaker 2: you feel confident about this game?
• 39:28
  Speaker 3: Not a great one, no. Our number's 12 and a
• 39:30
Speaker 3: half right now. Model is screaming Georgia Tech. And yet,
• 39:34
Speaker 3: I listened to Brent Key at his press conference yesterday
• 39:37
Speaker 3: laughing about his own team. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe it's
• 39:41
Speaker 3: mind games. Or maybe when the guy said, hey, so
• 39:44
Speaker 3: Josh Heupel says you've got a physical team. And when
• 39:46
Speaker 3: Brent Key said, Did Josh say that before or after
• 39:49
Speaker 3: week one? If he said it after week one, I
• 39:51
Speaker 3: think he's just trying to be funny. Maybe Brent keeps
• 39:53
Speaker 3: being dead serious. Maybe they just don't have what they
• 39:55
Speaker 3: thought they had. Colorado went in. There was no fluke
• 39:59
Speaker 3: that Colorado won that game. It feels like it was
• 40:01
Speaker 3: a long time ago, but like Colorado went in there
• 40:04
Speaker 3: and like, kind of handled Georgia Tech. Didn't dominate them,
• 40:07
Speaker 3: but like they handled Georgia Tech in a way that
• 40:09
Speaker 3: was really surprising. And you're not ever going to convince
• 40:11
Speaker 3: me Georgia Tech wasn't up for the game or anything
• 40:13
Speaker 3: like that. It's a home opener. It's on national TV.
• 40:16
Speaker 3: So Tennessee, the only thing I wonder is like, I
• 40:20
Speaker 3: think Tennessee's really good on the offensive line. They got
• 40:23
Speaker 3: at least two really good tailbacks. It is a true
• 40:26
Speaker 3: freshman quarterback's first start against legit competition on the road.
• 40:30
Speaker 3: So like you kind of wonder how he'll handle it.
• 40:32
Speaker 3: If you want a wounded animal, This is your wounded animal.
• 40:35
Speaker 3: This is Georgia Tech after having Dion come into your
• 40:39
Speaker 3: house and beat you. And now that was the one
• 40:42
Speaker 3: spotlight game. This is your bigger spotlight game. This is
• 40:44
Speaker 3: the SEC coming to your backyard. You're a double-digit dog
• 40:47
Speaker 3: in your own building. You've still got a lot of newness.
• 40:50
Speaker 3: They're so new as a team. They brought in so
• 40:53
Speaker 3: many new pieces, new coordinators, new players all over the place,
• 40:56
Speaker 3: new quarterback. I just wonder if it's settled in enough.
• 41:00
Speaker 3: So I don't have a lot of confidence at all
• 41:02
Speaker 3: in this game. I certainly think Tennessee is going to
• 41:04
Speaker 3: end up winning the game. That has big implications for
• 41:06
Speaker 3: us traveling down the road, possibly, if Tennessee wins or
• 41:09
Speaker 3: loses this game. I very slightly lean Georgia Tech plus 12.5.
• 41:15
Speaker 3: This is another one-unit bet for me.
• 41:18
Speaker 1: So you're in the leader of the clubhouse, and now
• 41:20
Speaker 1: you're getting conservative with your units.
• 41:21
Speaker 3: I'm just looking out the window.
• 41:23
Speaker 2: Yeah. Sitting out there going, this is nice. I want
• 41:25
Speaker 2: to stay in here. Playing not to lose in week two.
• 41:27
Speaker 3: That guy over there is already down 11. That guy
• 41:30
  Speaker 3: here is dead.
• 41:31
  Speaker 6: No, no.
• 41:31
Speaker 2: This guy is right behind you. In the unit category,
• 41:35
Speaker 2: this week, though, if.
• 41:36
Speaker 3: It goes my way.
• 41:37
  Speaker 2: We've got a long season.
• 41:38
  Speaker 3: We do.
• 41:38
  Speaker 2: It's a long season. It's a long season.
• 41:41
Speaker 1: There was a couple of whispers yesterday, like, hey, you
• 41:43
Speaker 1: did pretty good in the first locker room. And it's
• 41:45
Speaker 1: just like, that's pickles on a sandwich.
• 41:47
Speaker 3: We take them and leave that poison.
• 41:48
  Speaker 2: It's rat poison.
• 41:49
Speaker 1: Because it's like, yeah, where you start in week one
• 41:52
Speaker 1: is not where you finish.
• 41:53
Speaker 2: Shout out Michigan week two. Do not go anywhere because
• 41:56
Speaker 2: I am here to protect your pockets. This football season,
• 41:59
Speaker 2: whether you're buying tickets, booking travel, or shopping for team gear,
• 42:02
Speaker 2: protect your pocket with Visa. Tapping to pay for a
• 42:06
Speaker 2: bootleg Jersey without checking the card, not a pro move
• 42:09
Speaker 2: tapping to pay with visa. That's a pro move. Visa
• 42:12
Speaker 2: runs more than 500 security checks to identify fraud before
• 42:16
Speaker 2: each transaction is approved. So you don't have to worry
• 42:20
Speaker 2: except for how that medium Jersey fits after another dozen
• 42:22
Speaker 2: wings this season. Remember a great defensive play is when
• 42:26
Speaker 2: you pay with visa, the most trusted way to pay
• 42:29
Speaker 2: for football fans everywhere. Um, I like all the things
• 42:33
  Speaker 2: you said.
• 42:34
Speaker 1: Georgia Tech, when they get Justice Hayes, when you talk
• 42:38
Speaker 1: about the size of their offensive line, Mendoza, he just
• 42:41
Speaker 1: watched his brother win a national championship. I'm really impressed
• 42:44
Speaker 1: with the way Mendoza played that game, given the fact
• 42:46
Speaker 1: that they could not run the ball at all. What
• 42:49
Speaker 1: concerns me the most with Georgia Tech is their offensive-defensive line. Colorado,
• 42:53
Speaker 1: kind of the biggest news coming out of Colorado in
• 42:55
Speaker 1: the offseason was how small their team looked and how
• 42:58
Speaker 1: little they looked. Yet, They own the line of scrimmage
• 43:01
Speaker 1: on both sides of the ball. And I also agree
• 43:03
Speaker 1: with you where Tennessee has a much better offensive line
• 43:07
Speaker 1: than Colorado has. And when I put on the film
• 43:09
Speaker 1: against Furman, I don't think Tennessee's offensive line played particularly well.
• 43:13
Speaker 1: Like they just kind of leaned on guys. Sanders, that
• 43:16
Speaker 1: left tackle, I think he is like another world talent where,
• 43:19
Speaker 1: you know, probably a first round pick, but he's very
• 43:22
Speaker 1: raw technically to where some of these Furman defensive linemen
• 43:25
Speaker 1: are getting him like falling over at the hips, kind
• 43:27
Speaker 1: of waist bending quite a bit and getting around him
• 43:29
Speaker 1: a little bit. But I love Josh Heupel. And I
• 43:34
Speaker 1: love his play calling ability. I love how he has
• 43:36
Speaker 1: a freshman quarterback starting for the first time. And as
• 43:39
Speaker 1: much yards as he's thrown for, he didn't put too
• 43:41
Speaker 1: much on his plate with super complex routes and having
• 43:46
Speaker 1: multiple reads. It was, hey, you got these one or
• 43:49
Speaker 1: two things. If that doesn't work out, extend the play.
• 43:51
Speaker 1: If you see something else, if not, run. It was
• 43:52
Speaker 1: a very simplistic game plan. But I like the way Heupel,
• 43:56
Speaker 1: if things aren't working in the pass game, he'll go
• 43:58
Speaker 1: to the run game. And he has that ability with
• 44:00
Speaker 1: Bishop in the backfield with that offensive line. And obviously
• 44:03
Speaker 1: with Faison Brandon, his ability to run the ball. I
• 44:06
Speaker 1: love the story of Georgia Tech going into week one,
• 44:09
Speaker 1: getting embarrassed, coming out in week two.
• 44:11
Speaker 2: But I'm not, I put the film on it.
• 44:14
Speaker 1: I'm not so sure that Furman's defensive line isn't better
• 44:17
Speaker 1: than Georgia Tech's defensive line based on the film that
• 44:19
Speaker 1: I saw. And they were playing against better talent. So
• 44:22
  Speaker 1: I like Tennessee minus 12 and a half here. I
• 44:25
Speaker 1: think Mendoza, he hurt his ankle in the second quarter
• 44:30
Speaker 1: of that game. He was hobbling around a little bit.
• 44:32
Speaker 1: Clearly had fight, had leadership, character, the whole thing when
• 44:35
Speaker 1: he was playing and tried to will his team into
• 44:38
Speaker 1: an almost win. But Tennessee, I think, is too good.
• 44:43
Speaker 1: I think their defensive line is too good. They got a,
• 44:46
Speaker 1: what is it? What's the kid's name?
• 44:47
Speaker 2: Avian? Aaron? Arian. Aaron Carter.
• 44:51
Speaker 1: He's coming back after the suspension because he took some
• 44:53
Speaker 1: money to get on a flight to go see a scout.
• 44:55
  Speaker 2: He's back.
• 44:55
  Speaker 1: He's a great defensive player. I like Tennessee a lot
• 44:59
Speaker 1: in this position. Dude, hit the table again.
• 45:02
Speaker 2: I'm not hitting the table. You only get one.
• 45:03
Speaker 3: You only get one.
• 45:04
Speaker 2: You should try. You only get one.
• 45:05
Speaker 1: I'll put three units on it. I'll put three units
• 45:08
Speaker 1: on Tennessee minus 12 and a half.
• 45:10
  Speaker 3: Is that legal?
• 45:11
Speaker 2: I just, I slapped it. It's at three and a half.
• 45:13
Speaker 2: He's going to hit the table.
• 45:14
Speaker 3: I like the confidence. Can I say this?
• 45:17
  Speaker 2: Three units.
• 45:17
Speaker 3: That number is 12 and a half right now?
• 45:19
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 45:20
Speaker 3: Let's say that Faison Brandon deep throw highlight that was
• 45:24
Speaker 3: circulating Twitter, because you know people didn't watch the Furman game,
• 45:26
Speaker 3: so they saw that highlight. Let's say that doesn't circulate
• 45:29
Speaker 3: like it did. And let's say the ending of that
• 45:32
Speaker 3: Colorado game really is just Alberto Mendoza leads them down,
• 45:37
Speaker 3: Georgia Tech scores, Colorado does not have time because Georgia
• 45:40
Speaker 3: Tech handles their timeouts more properly, and Georgia Tech beats
• 45:42
Speaker 3: Colorado close. What do you think that number would be?
• 45:46
Speaker 2: I think it would be 7.5.
• 45:46
Speaker 3: I think it would be like 8.5 or 9. So
• 45:49
  Speaker 3: I think it's overinflated. That's why I'm taking Georgia Tech
• 45:52
Speaker 3: to cover Tennessee to win one unit.
• 45:54
Speaker 2: That's fair. So you're playing pretend.
• 45:57
Speaker 3: No, I'm not. Sometimes we have to. Let's pretend you.
• 46:01
Speaker 2: Don't see that clip. Dude, Brent Key's got to be
• 46:05
Speaker 2: disgusted with what he saw on tape against Colorado. Colorado,
• 46:08
Speaker 2: to your point, Taylor, they were able to run the football.
• 46:11
Speaker 2: I mean, nine penalties. Also, you talked about Mendoza, but
• 46:14
Speaker 2: five for 13 on third down. If you're Brent Key,
• 46:16
Speaker 2: you got to be like, what the... Like, no disrespect
• 46:19
Speaker 2: to Colorado, but what are we doing against Colorado and
• 46:22
Speaker 2: getting pushed around by Colorado? Tennessee, in my opinion, is...
• 46:26
Speaker 2: They're a team that's going to be sitting there in
• 46:28
Speaker 2: the conversation of the SEC. And in my opinion, maybe
• 46:33
Speaker 2: itching for the playoffs, like an eight plus win Tennessee team. Dude,
• 46:37
Speaker 2: I love Hypo with quarterbacks. It does not matter who
• 46:40
  Speaker 2: the quarterback is.
• 46:41
  Speaker 3: He's proved it.
• 46:42
Speaker 2: Nico had his best year when he was a freshman
• 46:44
Speaker 2: with Hypo at Tennessee. It was like, who is this
• 46:46
Speaker 2: Joey Aguilar kid? He wasn't a runner whatsoever. He balled out.
• 46:51
Speaker 3: And now you got Faison Brandon, who is a stud.
• 46:54
Speaker 3: He is a dude.
• 46:55
Speaker 2: He had a couple freshman moments to where maybe he
• 46:57
Speaker 2: missed a receiver or his timing was off or his
• 47:00
Speaker 2: alignment was off mentally for what the receiver was going
• 47:02
Speaker 2: to do to where he whips one out of bounds.
• 47:04
Speaker 2: But I like the ability. He didn't look like a
• 47:06
Speaker 2: freshman back there. He had a lot of poise. And
• 47:09
Speaker 2: I listen to you say like, yeah, this veteran offensive
• 47:12
Speaker 2: line didn't have the best game in the trenches. but
• 47:17
Speaker 2: also a part of me as I watch the tape
• 47:18
Speaker 2: because they run a lot of these 30 backfield looks
• 47:21
Speaker 2: to where there's three guys in the backfield. So it's
• 47:23
  Speaker 2: like a one-team. Yeah, exactly. And there's a lot of
• 47:27
Speaker 2: moving parts because you have true quarterback design run. You
• 47:30
Speaker 2: have zone reads with sifters and pullers. You have RPOs
• 47:34
Speaker 2: off of it. You have quarterback draws. You have a
• 47:37
Speaker 2: lot of things that they're trying to do from a
• 47:39
Speaker 2: schematic standpoint to where I just think this veteran group
• 47:42
Speaker 2: will get going and they will get more comfortable to
• 47:44
Speaker 2: where there will be more wrinkles. And maybe you could
• 47:47
Speaker 2: break this down on an offensive line standpoint, but maybe
• 47:49
Speaker 2: that puts you on your heels a little bit more
• 47:51
Speaker 2: because you might not know what the defense is going
• 47:54
  Speaker 2: to give you.
• 47:54
Speaker 3: When they see looks like that.
• 47:56
Speaker 2: Like teams that are now going to be practicing against
• 47:58
Speaker 2: some of these looks, there's a lot of things that
• 48:01
Speaker 2: you have to do because it's not like a traditional
• 48:03
Speaker 2: two tight ends on the ball or one tight end
• 48:04
Speaker 2: off the ball. And the gap might change once or
• 48:07
Speaker 2: the gap might change with pullers. It's like, yo, there
• 48:09
Speaker 2: are three guys back there to where pullers can happen.
• 48:12
Speaker 2: Sifters can happen. You can flood a zone one way.
• 48:15
Speaker 2: And also you've got to worry about what is my
• 48:16
Speaker 2: responsibility if it is a zone read or if it
• 48:19
Speaker 2: is an RPO to where you're a little hesitant, especially
• 48:22
Speaker 2: on the second level, to where you might not get
• 48:24
Speaker 2: back in that window in time. Because Faison Brandon is
• 48:26
Speaker 2: doing a great job of seeing the one key he
• 48:29
Speaker 2: needs to see to where This is a design run,
• 48:31
Speaker 2: but it's a run pass option. I'm going to whip
• 48:33
Speaker 2: it out to the side with Mike Matthews. And you've
• 48:35
Speaker 2: got a back like Deshaun Bishop in the backfield who
• 48:38
Speaker 2: had over 1,000 last year. To me, this offense is
• 48:41
Speaker 2: going to do nothing but get better. And I just
• 48:43
Speaker 2: think what I saw from Georgia Tech's defensive line And again,
• 48:46
Speaker 2: the penalties, the five for 13 on third down. I
• 48:49
Speaker 2: like Tennessee a lot here. I like him at minus
• 48:52
Speaker 2: 12 and a half. I like him so much. This
• 48:54
Speaker 2: is my pound the table bet.
• 48:55
  Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
• 48:55
  Speaker 2: You're on five.
• 48:56
  Speaker 3: I love Tennessee.
• 48:57
Speaker 2: I know freshman quarterback on the road for his first time.
• 49:01
Speaker 2: Jesse was in my ear before. I started to let
• 49:04
Speaker 2: a little bit of doubt come in my brain about it. But, man,
• 49:07
Speaker 2: when I watch this offense, I think they're going to
• 49:09
Speaker 2: do nothing but get better and get more comfortable in
• 49:12
Speaker 2: all of the scheme that they're doing because they have
• 49:14
Speaker 2: a lot there. And Faison Brandon, he can whip the
• 49:17
Speaker 2: ball around and he can run. We're going to be
• 49:19
Speaker 2: talking about Camargo. Taylor here in a little bit, but
• 49:21
Speaker 2: kind of an iteration of that guy where you can
• 49:23
Speaker 2: do anything. He can do anything. He's got freak athletic ability.
• 49:25
Speaker 2: From the offensive line's perspective, what you're saying, when you
• 49:27
Speaker 2: have that kind of wing teeth, 30 back, it can
• 49:30
Speaker 2: look very confusing for an offensive lineman because when you
• 49:33
Speaker 2: condense everything in there, we have three backs in the
• 49:35
Speaker 2: backfield behind the line of scrimmage. Now you get more
• 49:38
Speaker 2: linebackers and safety is kind of in the box as well.
• 49:41
Speaker 2: But the simple way to do it is like if
• 49:43
Speaker 2: you're going to run a zone read or a gap scheme,
• 49:46
Speaker 2: look out of those. And then the backfield has their
• 49:49
  Speaker 2: crazy motions.
• 49:49
Speaker 1: And shifts and everything. That's going to be much more
• 49:51
Speaker 1: confusing for the defense. It just becomes a number game.
• 49:53
Speaker 1: So if you're the left tackle in the situation, you
• 49:55
Speaker 1: count one, two, okay, I go to three. to where
• 49:57
Speaker 1: you know at this play, I'm going to the three
• 50:00
Speaker 1: spot here. So you can count off to where it
• 50:03
Speaker 1: looks really like there's a congested box. But at the end,
• 50:06
Speaker 1: it's all going to kind of open up because you
• 50:07
Speaker 1: have one back going this way, another one going that way,
• 50:10
Speaker 1: face is not rolling out. So you can just count that. Okay,
• 50:14
Speaker 1: I have this guy or the guy that ends up
• 50:15
Speaker 1: in this spot. So you can really simplify with that
• 50:19
Speaker 1: kind of wing T look as an offensive lineman. It's
• 50:21
Speaker 1: just a matter of the coach going, Hey, don't, don't
• 50:23
Speaker 1: talk about Mike's and Sam's and wills or Jack's or plugs.
• 50:26
Speaker 1: Like you just need to go one, two. That's my
• 50:28
  Speaker 1: guy right there.
• 50:29
  Speaker 3: Right.
• 50:29
Speaker 1: You know, or you're going to a location like power,
• 50:32
Speaker 1: any kid out there that runs power or wants to
• 50:34
Speaker 1: run power. If it's to the left side, close your eyes,
• 50:37
Speaker 1: go to one o'clock and you're going to be correct.
• 50:39
Speaker 1: Like it's really just gaps. It's so simple when you
• 50:42
Speaker 1: do the base place. Cause you can, the best thing
• 50:45
Speaker 1: about Josh Hypel is he runs a thousand different motions.
• 50:49
Speaker 1: He has a thousand different looks, but 90% of his
• 50:52
Speaker 1: plays are so basic. It's the window dressing that takes place.
• 50:56
Speaker 1: So it's very easy on the offensive line and it
• 50:59
Speaker 1: looks very confusing. But at the end of the day,
• 51:01
Speaker 1: if you took a snapshot at the end when the
• 51:03
Speaker 1: ball is snapped, it's like, okay, this is clearly a
• 51:06
Speaker 1: West Wing alignment and they're running duo. They're running zone.
• 51:10
  Speaker 2: And that's where.
• 51:11
Speaker 1: Especially in college when you have these younger cats, you know,
• 51:14
Speaker 1: we're about to talk about BYU in a second. Some
• 51:15
Speaker 1: guys are 30, but you get into a position where
• 51:18
Speaker 1: it's like guys aren't going to be able to differentiate
• 51:20
Speaker 1: all the American primeval. It's making a comeback.
• 51:22
Speaker 2: Into like a question for you or maybe just an
• 51:25
Speaker 2: assumption like on the scouting card when you're going against
• 51:28
Speaker 2: what the defense could potentially do. You're seeing all the
• 51:31
Speaker 2: scouting cards to where they're trying to run it correctly.
• 51:34
Speaker 2: Whereas an offensive lineman, you might be seeing your second
• 51:37
Speaker 2: level player who's in the three count who might just
• 51:39
Speaker 2: make a mistake and they just get a little unsure.
• 51:41
Speaker 2: Do I still go this direction? Do I just pound
• 51:43
Speaker 2: down here to where you're kind of thinking a little
• 51:45
Speaker 2: bit to where all the classroom work is like, hey,
• 51:47
Speaker 2: if they make that mistake, Here's where the upside is.
• 51:50
  Speaker 2: Here's where it's beneficial. Don't worry about this. Because I
• 51:52
Speaker 2: feel like you are going to get a lot of
• 51:54
Speaker 2: confusion when you are trying to game plan against the
• 51:57
Speaker 2: 20 and 30 look backfield sets that you get against Tennessee.
• 52:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's where it turns into you go from
• 52:02
Speaker 1: the number count to you go to spots. Like middle
• 52:04
Speaker 1: of the field is where you're going to where the
• 52:06
Speaker 1: mic would usually be. You're going to go backside to
• 52:08
Speaker 1: where the wheel would usually be.
• 52:09
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 52:10
Speaker 1: And that makes it so much easier. A lot of
• 52:12
Speaker 1: offensive line, and we can go back to the mission
• 52:14
Speaker 1: game and talk about it, but I won't, is sometimes
• 52:17
Speaker 1: you just got to pull the ripcord and realize you're
• 52:19
Speaker 1: going to a location and the guy that's in that
• 52:22
Speaker 1: spot is most likely going to be your guy. And
• 52:24
Speaker 1: if you just simplify the game, now you can play
• 52:26
Speaker 1: a hell of a lot faster. Tennessee, they didn't play
• 52:30
Speaker 1: great on the offensive line. They had an inferior opponent,
• 52:32
Speaker 1: so they were very successful. But they have so much
• 52:36
Speaker 1: talent on that offensive line, other than that right tackle
• 52:38
Speaker 1: was a little shaky. He moved into guard, but.
• 52:42
  Speaker 2: That's how I feel.
• 52:42
  Speaker 1: I like 12 and a half, and I like buying
• 52:45
Speaker 1: Wilcox and Sokolow now when we started the show, when
• 52:48
Speaker 1: we talk about the pessimist versus the optimist. I was
• 52:50
Speaker 1: kind of on the pessimist side, like I don't know
• 52:51
Speaker 1: what I was going to do. But now that we're
• 52:53
Speaker 1: in the trenches together, I love Tennessee.
• 52:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, there we go. I'm at three. I'm at three
• 52:57
Speaker 2: on that one. Going to Michigan's office, do you guys
• 53:00
Speaker 2: have a lot of veterans on your offensive line? We
• 53:02
Speaker 2: have a lot of guys that have starts, yes.
• 53:04
  Speaker 3: Okay.
• 53:05
Speaker 2: Yes. I was trying to bait you into breaking down.
• 53:08
Speaker 2: I can. I was going to say.
• 53:10
Speaker 3: No, please don't. We can do that if you want.
• 53:12
Speaker 1: Yeah, if we want to spend another hour on Michigan,
• 53:14
Speaker 1: we can do that on the show.
• 53:16
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, yeah. Hell yeah, folks.
• 53:20
  Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
• 53:20
Speaker 2: You brought up the 30-year-olds playing for BYU. Let's just
• 53:23
Speaker 2: go down to Arizona. Let's go down to Arizona at BYU.
• 53:26
Speaker 2: They're playing in Provo. BYU is favored by 7.5 here.
• 53:29
Speaker 2: The over-under on this game is 47.5 points. Who's got
• 53:33
Speaker 2: a great feel for this game? Because I don't. You don't?
• 53:37
Speaker 2: Was it with the line chain? No, it's seven and
• 53:39
  Speaker 2: a half still.
• 53:39
Speaker 3: Seven and a half.
• 53:40
Speaker 1: So last year, this game goes into double overtime, correct?
• 53:43
Speaker 1: Arizona's winning this game by about 10 points. And then
• 53:46
Speaker 1: Bachmeier and what was it?
• 53:48
  Speaker 2: What was it?
• 53:49
  Speaker 3: Martin?
• 53:49
Speaker 2: LJ Martin. LJ Martin. Rushing attack with LJ.
• 53:54
Speaker 1: Martin and company. They ended up coming back. They went
• 53:57
Speaker 1: into double overtime. Listen, BYU, their whole game plan is
• 54:03
Speaker 1: establishing the run game. They've been very successful at it.
• 54:05
Speaker 1: Bachmeier last year as a freshman did a great job
• 54:07
Speaker 1: rocking the 47. That's up for interpretation whether you like
• 54:11
Speaker 1: that or not. But Fafita, I love the storyline of
• 54:14
Speaker 1: this kid Noah Fafita. He's a grown-ass man. Freshman year,
• 54:18
Speaker 1: he's got TMAC. So that's a great outlet for you
• 54:21
Speaker 1: to have. As a freshman, you know you have a
• 54:24
Speaker 1: top 10 pick in the NFL draft at the wide
• 54:26
Speaker 1: receiver position for you that you can just feed to
• 54:28
Speaker 1: over and over again. Sophomore year hits, it's his first
• 54:30
Speaker 1: year with Brennan, and you see his numbers go down
• 54:32
Speaker 1: quite a bit. The success they had was on the
• 54:34
Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball. Go into his junior year
• 54:37
Speaker 1: and has, what, over 30 touchdowns and single digits and interceptions.
• 54:41
Speaker 1: The kid has had growth, and because of that sophomore slump,
• 54:44
Speaker 1: I love... where he's at now. He's got two receivers,
• 54:48
Speaker 1: or he's lost three receivers. He's got two in Richardson
• 54:51
Speaker 1: and Spivey that are both different. One little smaller, quicker guy.
• 54:56
Speaker 1: And then Richardson, who's a little bit big. I think
• 54:58
Speaker 1: Richardson's the smaller one. Spivey's the big one. Spivey, bigger guy,
• 55:02
Speaker 1: can get those 50-50 balls. Everything they run in Arizona
• 55:06
Speaker 1: is out of 11 personnel. It's RPO all the way
• 55:09
Speaker 1: This game, I think, is going to come down to
• 55:12
Speaker 1: who the defensive coordinator is at BYU, Papinga. It's his
• 55:15
Speaker 1: first year as a DC. And if you remember before
• 55:20
Speaker 1: Jay Hill got to BYU, a lot of fans, a
• 55:24
Speaker 1: lot of boosters were kind of calling for Kalani Shataki's head,
• 55:26
Speaker 1: saying they can't get it done, especially on the defensive
• 55:28
Speaker 1: side of the ball. This is kind of Big 12 football.
• 55:30
Speaker 1: Jay Hill comes in, their defense is top 20 in
• 55:33
Speaker 1: college football, and kind of all that dust settles so
• 55:35
Speaker 1: much so that Crumble Cookie comes in and saves him
• 55:37
Speaker 1: from going to Penn State. I I like both these
• 55:40
Speaker 1: teams scoring a lot of points. I like BYU's offensive
• 55:44
Speaker 1: line and establishing the run. But on the other side
• 55:46
Speaker 1: of it, I love Fafita and his ability to push
• 55:49
Speaker 1: the ball down the field, make good decisions, and use
• 55:51
Speaker 1: his legs when he needs to. So I'm going to
• 55:53
Speaker 1: take the over in this game.
• 55:55
  Speaker 2: 49.5? Nope, that's Arizona. They're 47.5. You know what?
• 55:59
Speaker 1: I'm not going to take the over. I'm going to
• 56:00
Speaker 1: take Arizona plus 7.5. I'm going to take Arizona plus seven.
• 56:04
Speaker 1: I think this game is a lot closer than people think.
• 56:06
Speaker 1: I think Arizona's going to have the ability to score
• 56:08
Speaker 1: a lot of points. They have a great safety in BYU.
• 56:11
Speaker 1: But I like Arizona plus seven and a half.
• 56:13
Speaker 2: I'll go three on that.
• 56:15
Speaker 3: Oh, okay. You want to know where I'm at? I
• 56:19
Speaker 3: would love. I woke up this morning and I thought,
• 56:22
Speaker 3: what am I going to eat for breakfast? Where's Willie
• 56:25
Speaker 3: on this Brigham Young game? Not in that order, Eddie.
• 56:28
Speaker 3: Not even in that order.
• 56:30
Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously BYU's rushing attack versus Arizona's front seven. I
• 56:33
Speaker 2: do like what Arizona has defensively. And then it's going
• 56:36
Speaker 2: to be Fafita against this BYU secondary. Them going into Provo,
• 56:40
Speaker 2: here's where my pick comes in. Because what I'm doing
• 56:42
Speaker 2: here is I'm going, I like this confidence of BYU
• 56:48
Speaker 2: winning the game. I like the confidence of BYU covering,
• 56:50
Speaker 2: but my confidence isn't all the way there. So I'm
• 56:52
Speaker 2: going to go two unit confidence level, but I'm also
• 56:55
Speaker 2: going to buy a point. I'm going BYU minus six
• 56:58
Speaker 2: and a half because... BYU last year haunted my entire season.
• 57:03
Speaker 2: I think I betted against them damn near every week
• 57:05
Speaker 2: thinking that they wouldn't get it done. And they did.
• 57:07
Speaker 2: They beat my ass last week. And Arizona hasn't won
• 57:10
Speaker 2: in Provo since 1975. BYU has an eight-game home winning
• 57:14
Speaker 2: streak against Arizona. So I like BYU here, but I
• 57:18
Speaker 2: am going to buy a point, hedge a little bit,
• 57:19
Speaker 2: and get that six and a half because I hate
• 57:21
Speaker 2: the seven and a half. You see BYU winning by seven,
• 57:26
Speaker 2: I'd be running through my TV. Yeah. So I'm going
• 57:28
Speaker 2: to buy a point here and go minus six and
• 57:30
  Speaker 2: a half BYU.
• 57:31
  Speaker 3: Is that legal?
• 57:33
Speaker 2: It's a unit. That is legal. You can put whatever
• 57:35
Speaker 2: unit you want. It's my units.
• 57:37
Speaker 3: You go from, you go. Yeah. So when I was
• 57:42
Speaker 3: looking at it last night, it went from one 10.
• 57:43
Speaker 2: And if you, if you buy a point to go
• 57:45
Speaker 2: minus six and a half, it'll be for the viewers
• 57:47
Speaker 2: out there. It'll be minus minus one 48. All right.
• 57:51
Speaker 2: Cause it's a unit. We're going units. Just unlock something
• 57:55
  Speaker 2: for you, Josh.
• 57:57
Speaker 1: This doesn't feel like a Josh move to do that.
• 58:01
Speaker 2: It kind of unlocks something for him right there. Look
• 58:02
Speaker 2: at his brain ticking.
• 58:04
Speaker 3: Where you at? It is weird to see that point
• 58:06
Speaker 3: spread that low, isn't it?
• 58:08
  Speaker 2: I don't think so.
• 58:10
Speaker 3: What are you about to do?
• 58:13
  Speaker 2: Alt line?
• 58:14
Speaker 3: No, I'm not going to do it. Actually, the thought
• 58:16
Speaker 3: hadn't even entered my mind.
• 58:18
Speaker 1: We're going to have this episode to bring you Jack Daniels.
• 58:21
Speaker 1: Have you heard of Jack Daniels? But did you know
• 58:23
Speaker 1: they have multiple flavors of Tennessee whiskey?
• 58:25
  Speaker 2: Jack Honey.
• 58:26
Speaker 1: Jack by name, honey by nature. Bold like Jack, smooth
• 58:29
Speaker 1: like honey. Authentically Jack and naturally smooth. A little bit
• 58:32
Speaker 1: of honey, a whole lot of Jack.
• 58:33
Speaker 2: Jack Apple is another one. Pick boldly.
• 58:37
Speaker 1: Real crisp apples, real Jack Daniels, Jack to the core.
• 58:41
Speaker 1: And then Jack Blackberry. The only Blackberry bursting with Jack.
• 58:45
Speaker 2: Let's get back to this episode.
• 58:46
Speaker 3: I was going to go Brigham Young. I was just
• 58:48
Speaker 3: going to lay the points. I, man, the more I
• 58:53
Speaker 3: think about it, I still think I'm going to go
• 58:56
Speaker 3: Brigham Young and lay the points. So I'm going to
• 59:00
Speaker 3: go minus seven and a half. I don't mind that.
• 59:02
Speaker 3: And it may land on seven and I text you
• 59:04
Speaker 3: and I just. Just simply should have bought a point.
• 59:07
  Speaker 3: Just one point.
• 59:08
Speaker 2: You remember when Brigham Young went to Texas?
• 59:10
Speaker 3: Tech last year? It was the biggest game in the
• 59:12
Speaker 3: Big 12 all year. And there was a lot of
• 59:13
Speaker 3: buildup and it ended up being Texas Tech kind of
• 59:16
Speaker 3: pulling away in the game because over four quarters, BYU
• 59:20
Speaker 3: couldn't stand up to it. But nobody in that league could.
• 59:24
Speaker 3: I can't help but think this ends up being how
• 59:26
Speaker 3: that game feels. And I feel like it's the kind
• 59:28
Speaker 3: of game where Fafita thinks he's got to do a
• 59:29
Speaker 3: little bit too much. And if he hits, great, they'll
• 59:33
Speaker 3: win the game. It'll be an upset. But there's just
• 59:35
Speaker 3: as much, if not a greater likelihood of he forces
• 59:39
Speaker 3: too much and mistakes happen. And Brigham Young's great at
• 59:41
Speaker 3: just sitting there waiting for you to do it. It's
• 59:43
Speaker 3: like they say, well, you can't go through us. So
• 59:45
Speaker 3: you're going to try and go over us or around us.
• 59:47
Speaker 3: We don't think you can do that either. And we'll
• 59:49
Speaker 3: be there to cash it in when you try too hard.
• 59:51
Speaker 3: I just think that's more likely the game script here.
• 59:54
Speaker 3: And there's so many commodities about Brigham Young that you know,
• 59:57
Speaker 3: that you trust. Like you said, they've all been there
• 59:59
Speaker 3: a long time. It's a good point about the D.C. churn,
• 1:00:02
  Speaker 3: and I can't know about that until I know. That's
• 1:00:04
Speaker 3: why I'm not going to go under. But I do
• 1:00:06
Speaker 3: think Brigham Young does enough here offensively, and I think
• 1:00:10
Speaker 3: they force enough mistakes to where they actually win and cover.
• 1:00:12
Speaker 3: It's two units for me, not a ton of confidence,
• 1:00:15
Speaker 3: but I will lay the seven and a half bravely.
• 1:00:18
Speaker 2: So get you a point. No, I want... So not
• 1:00:21
  Speaker 2: a tough.
• 1:00:21
Speaker 1: Can I sway you at all in that the D.C.
• 1:00:24
Speaker 1: Gonzalez for Arizona, their defense last year was number one
• 1:00:27
Speaker 1: in opposing quarterback rating in the Big 12?
• 1:00:29
Speaker 3: That is a good point.
• 1:00:30
Speaker 2: Does that sway you even a little bit?
• 1:00:32
Speaker 1: Because Gonzalez, like, what he's shown there is he knows
• 1:00:35
Speaker 1: how to game plan against BYU. Like, BYU is the
• 1:00:38
Speaker 1: better team. They have more talent. Fafita and then a
• 1:00:41
Speaker 1: couple of wide receivers that may or may not be
• 1:00:44
  Speaker 1: great players. But it's... They're losing the D.C. You're replacing
• 1:00:48
Speaker 1: Jack Kelly, who had 10 sacks last year. So you
• 1:00:50
Speaker 1: need to find your pass rusher. You have a great safety.
• 1:00:53
Speaker 1: You had a phenomenal freshman year. But it's like, who is,
• 1:00:57
Speaker 1: I guess, who's going to take over that defense? Because
• 1:01:01
Speaker 1: Jack Kelly was that guy. He was the heart and soul.
• 1:01:03
Speaker 2: Now he's kind of, he's gone now. Yeah.
• 1:01:05
Speaker 1: And so that's where I kind of sit. I'm like,
• 1:01:07
Speaker 1: seven and a half feels like too many points for me.
• 1:01:09
Speaker 1: If it was at six and a half, I'd probably
• 1:01:11
Speaker 1: lean the other way as well. But seven and a half, Arizona,
• 1:01:13
Speaker 1: they seem to play them well. Veteran quarterback, a DC
• 1:01:18
Speaker 1: that has played them well before, and a DC on
• 1:01:21
Speaker 1: the other side of BYU who is an unproven guy
• 1:01:25
Speaker 1: when that was the strength of their team last year.
• 1:01:27
Speaker 2: Unproven, but also if I can give any pushback. And
• 1:01:31
Speaker 2: remind me his last name. Papinga. Papinga, who's working the
• 1:01:35
Speaker 2: phones and didn't really lose anybody in the transfer portal. Like,
• 1:01:38
Speaker 2: you bring back six all-conference guys. You get a couple
• 1:01:41
Speaker 2: transferred over. Like, kept the continuity together to where the
• 1:01:44
Speaker 2: guys in the building must believe in the cat. Like, yes,
• 1:01:47
Speaker 2: unproven on paper, it's his first year and everything else.
• 1:01:50
Speaker 2: But to me, there's something to that continuity and that
• 1:01:53
Speaker 2: culture that BYU has built to where I am still
• 1:01:56
Speaker 2: bullish on them defensively because they got a good secondary, man.
• 1:01:59
Speaker 2: I mean, they were top 15 in the country last year.
• 1:02:03
  Speaker 2: So I can't sway you?
• 1:02:04
Speaker 3: I'm not swayed only because I think if you walk
• 1:02:06
Speaker 3: into that kind of dynamic, it's not you bringing your
• 1:02:09
Speaker 3: defense into Brigham Young that all of them need to learn.
• 1:02:12
Speaker 3: Like they're all pretty much still there. It's probably, and
• 1:02:15
Speaker 3: I don't know this, I'm not that close to that program,
• 1:02:17
Speaker 3: but it's probably more You're coming here to run our defense.
• 1:02:21
Speaker 3: It's probably the dynamic. That doesn't change my mind on
• 1:02:24
Speaker 3: the idea that I think they'll force enough mistakes. I
• 1:02:27
Speaker 3: think that's where some production comes. I think that's where
• 1:02:30
Speaker 3: some plus field position comes, more so than just I
• 1:02:32
Speaker 3: think their offense is going to go up and down
• 1:02:34
Speaker 3: the field. Sounds like both of y'all are on a
• 1:02:36
Speaker 3: Brigham Young seven-point win, by the way.
• 1:02:38
Speaker 2: I'm right there. Yeah, I'm right there. My computer tells
• 1:02:41
Speaker 2: me that it's right.
• 1:02:41
  Speaker 3: Where it's at.
• 1:02:42
  Speaker 2: My model.
• 1:02:43
  Speaker 3: I'm like 10 to 13 point. That's where I am.
• 1:02:45
Speaker 2: Louis Locke's model has it at seven. And your boy,
• 1:02:48
Speaker 2: they're going to play some smart football whether you wait
• 1:02:49
Speaker 2: for him to make a mistake. Because again, you got
• 1:02:51
Speaker 2: to check their birth certificate. You get a lot of
• 1:02:53
Speaker 2: 30-year-olds playing for BYU.
• 1:02:54
Speaker 3: A lot of 30-year-olds. A ton of them.
• 1:02:57
Speaker 2: Guys my age out there. SEC versus Big Ten. Do
• 1:03:01
Speaker 2: you have something before we go there? No, go ahead.
• 1:03:04
Speaker 2: Here we go. SEC versus Big Ten. We got another
• 1:03:07
Speaker 2: matchup taking place up in Minnesota. Mississippi travels up to Minnesota.
• 1:03:11
Speaker 2: The line on this game is essentially a pick-em. Right now,
• 1:03:14
Speaker 2: my card is reading just 0.5. It doesn't matter. This
• 1:03:17
Speaker 2: is a Moneyline game. It's Minnesota favored or Mississippi State
• 1:03:21
Speaker 2: favored by one and a half. The over-under on this
• 1:03:23
Speaker 2: game is 55 and a half points. Yeah. Can I
• 1:03:25
Speaker 2: just read you? These are players of note for Minnesota.
• 1:03:28
Speaker 2: Drake Lindsey, your quarterback. Good player. Darius Taylor is their
• 1:03:31
Speaker 2: running back. Everything kind of goes through them.
• 1:03:33
Speaker 1: Javon Tracy, great returner and great wide receiver. He set
• 1:03:36
Speaker 1: a record in the Big Ten just last week. On defense,
• 1:03:40
Speaker 1: Anthony Smith, number zero.
• 1:03:42
Speaker 2: And then Bush, T.J. Bush.
• 1:03:44
Speaker 1: A transfer from Cal. Those are the notable players that
• 1:03:48
Speaker 1: you need to watch out for in this game. This
• 1:03:50
Speaker 1: is the one from Mississippi State, Kamario Taylor.
• 1:03:53
Speaker 2: Oh, but he is the one. That he is him.
• 1:03:57
Speaker 2: The kid is incredible.
• 1:03:59
  Speaker 1: I don't want to take your joke, so I won't,
• 1:04:01
Speaker 1: but this guy is extremely accurate down the field. There
• 1:04:04
Speaker 1: was multiple times that the offensive line broke. He's in
• 1:04:08
Speaker 1: a pinch. All of a sudden, guys are dragging on
• 1:04:10
Speaker 1: his legs. He gets away, still able to run the
• 1:04:12
Speaker 1: ball down the field for 30, 40 yards or throw
• 1:04:14
Speaker 1: a dime to somebody. He is one of the most
• 1:04:17
Speaker 1: confident quarterbacks I've ever watched play college football.
• 1:04:20
Speaker 2: This kid truly believes in himself.
• 1:04:21
Speaker 1: And from a quarterback standpoint, the number one thing you
• 1:04:24
Speaker 1: need is to have the confidence in yourself to deliver
• 1:04:26
Speaker 1: the ball. Now they played UL Monroe, who's not a
• 1:04:30
Speaker 1: great football team. Their offensive line didn't get a lot
• 1:04:34
Speaker 1: of push. The defensive line on Mississippi State, I thought
• 1:04:39
Speaker 1: Monroe did a great job of winning the line of
• 1:04:41
Speaker 1: scrimmage in that situation. And Kamario Taylor, As talented as
• 1:04:45
Speaker 1: he is throwing the ball down the field, there's a
• 1:04:47
Speaker 1: couple he gets where he just back kind of loops out.
• 1:04:50
Speaker 1: He throws it, puts a muffin at his feet, five-yard in,
• 1:04:53
Speaker 1: feet are planted, everything looks good, and then all of
• 1:04:55
  Speaker 1: a sudden it's in the dirt or it's a little
• 1:04:56
Speaker 1: bit wide. Ball gets tipped, but Monroe's defense, they just
• 1:04:59
  Speaker 1: can't figure out a.
• 1:05:00
Speaker 2: Way to get the ball.
• 1:05:01
Speaker 1: I think if you play against better talent, which they
• 1:05:03
Speaker 1: are this week, he's going to give up the ball
• 1:05:07
Speaker 1: a few times. I think Minnesota, as much as they
• 1:05:10
Speaker 1: kind of lack the talent, in the Big Ten to
• 1:05:13
Speaker 1: compete at a college football playoff national championship level, P.J.
• 1:05:18
Speaker 1: Fleck always has those guys in the right spots at
• 1:05:20
Speaker 1: all times. Drake Lindsey, when he's 6'4, 235, and he
• 1:05:23
Speaker 1: can throw an absolute rope. Taylor in the backfield, the
• 1:05:27
Speaker 1: whole game plan is how do we get him the
• 1:05:29
Speaker 1: ball out of our opening plays? If we have 15
• 1:05:32
Speaker 1: opening plays, we would love to get him the ball
• 1:05:33
Speaker 1: 11 times. You saw in the first couple of drives
• 1:05:36
Speaker 1: of the game, they want to establish the run. I
• 1:05:37
Speaker 1: think their offensive line is pretty good. I know they're
• 1:05:40
Speaker 1: somewhat inexperienced. But on the defensive side of the ball,
• 1:05:43
Speaker 1: everyone is in the right space, right place at all times.
• 1:05:46
Speaker 1: The defensive line can rush. They played East Illinois last week.
• 1:05:49
Speaker 1: There's not a whole lot to go off of that,
• 1:05:51
Speaker 1: except for there was one drive East Illinois had to
• 1:05:52
Speaker 1: score a touchdown. Their success came from misdirection, where the
• 1:05:57
Speaker 1: offensive line, the quarterback would go this way, the ball
• 1:05:59
Speaker 1: would go out to the flat the other way, and
• 1:06:00
Speaker 1: they would gain 15, 20 yards. That became East Illinois'
• 1:06:04
Speaker 1: game plan. And after that drive, every time they tried
• 1:06:08
Speaker 1: to try that after that, Minnesota was on top of
• 1:06:10
Speaker 1: it in the right spot. So that tells me that
• 1:06:12
Speaker 1: this team makes great on the sideline. They make changes
• 1:06:15
Speaker 1: on the sideline quickly and efficiently. So I like Minnesota here.
• 1:06:20
Speaker 1: I'll take the points. I mean, if you want to
• 1:06:22
Speaker 1: give them to me, I'll take them. I'll take plus
• 1:06:24
Speaker 1: one and a half, and I'll put four on this.
• 1:06:27
  Speaker 1: I like Minnesota.
• 1:06:29
Speaker 2: Do you like Minnesota? You're very confident.
• 1:06:31
Speaker 1: I feel really good about Minnesota in this game at home,
• 1:06:35
Speaker 1: just outside of Dinkytown.
• 1:06:38
Speaker 2: I got you. My confidence is low. I'm one unit
• 1:06:40
Speaker 2: on this. SEC versus Big Ten. Penalized versus unpenalized. Electric
• 1:06:45
Speaker 2: Factory versus a true pro. It's essentially Dallas Carter versus Permian,
• 1:06:49
Speaker 2: if you really think about it. I like the under.
• 1:06:53
Speaker 2: I like the under this week of 55.5. I'm only
• 1:06:55
Speaker 2: going to place one unit on it because I'm just
• 1:06:57
Speaker 2: not the most confident. I am obsessed with Kamario Taylor.
• 1:07:01
Speaker 2: This dude can run like a deer. He's got a
• 1:07:04
Speaker 2: piss missile for an arm. If every play was designed
• 1:07:07
Speaker 2: over 20 yards, he's hitting it. Because you get him
• 1:07:08
Speaker 2: out of the backfield or you get him underneath, he's
• 1:07:10
Speaker 2: still got that piss missile of an arm going at
• 1:07:12
Speaker 2: it towards like, hey, buddy, you can dial it in.
• 1:07:13
Speaker 2: Just hit my man in the flat. But my confidence
• 1:07:16
Speaker 2: here is out of one. Both offenses put up a
• 1:07:18
Speaker 2: lot of points last week. And the freak that Kamario
• 1:07:20
Speaker 2: Taylor is, I can see everybody salivating on the over.
• 1:07:24
Speaker 2: I'm just going to go under because I think they're
• 1:07:26
Speaker 2: going to play. They're going against a good football team.
• 1:07:28
  Speaker 2: I don't know who's going to win clearly, but Minnesota's
• 1:07:33
Speaker 2: a lot more efficient offensively. They're a lot more fundamentally
• 1:07:36
Speaker 2: sound defensively. I think they're going to slow the game
• 1:07:38
Speaker 2: down a little bit. And again, if you have a
• 1:07:40
Speaker 2: couple turnovers to where it's just Camario kind of running
• 1:07:42
Speaker 2: around and making plays happen, I just see this being
• 1:07:45
Speaker 2: not a low-scoring game, like getting up close to that
• 1:07:47
Speaker 2: 55-and-a-half mark, but I like the under. I like the
• 1:07:49
Speaker 2: under this week. One unit, one simple, one simple unit,
• 1:07:53
  Speaker 2: tiny little unit.
• 1:07:54
Speaker 3: Just a little teeny unit.
• 1:07:56
Speaker 2: Just a little teeny tiny unit.
• 1:07:58
Speaker 3: I know a guy who roots for Mississippi state. He's
• 1:08:01
Speaker 3: in sports media, college football media. And I told him
• 1:08:05
  Speaker 3: Monday at 8 22 AM. If you're smart, you'll brand
• 1:08:08
Speaker 3: this week as Camario Taylor versus the big 10. And
• 1:08:12
Speaker 3: he said, he texted me back something doubtful. I don't
• 1:08:16
Speaker 3: want to use his exact words. And I said, you're
• 1:08:18
Speaker 3: going to win this week. And he said, I've been
• 1:08:21
Speaker 3: a fan of this team for a long time. And
• 1:08:23
Speaker 3: I said, yeah, but they put me in their hype video.
• 1:08:26
Speaker 3: He didn't respond back. Not important. It's my most confident
• 1:08:37
Speaker 3: game on the board all week. I'm going to slap
• 1:08:40
Speaker 3: the table on it. Mississippi State will go up there
• 1:08:42
Speaker 3: and they'll win by a touchdown or more.
• 1:08:44
  Speaker 2: Wow.
• 1:08:45
Speaker 3: Yeah, feel really good about it.
• 1:08:46
Speaker 2: Feel really good about it.
• 1:08:47
Speaker 3: I think they'll come out of this week massively overhyped,
• 1:08:49
Speaker 3: but that's something that we can deal with in week three.
• 1:08:51
Speaker 2: Right, we'll temper those expectations after.
• 1:08:52
Speaker 3: What time is this kickoff? Do you know, Klump?
• 1:08:54
  Speaker 2: 2.30 since. Okay.
• 1:08:55
  Speaker 3: So you're taking.
• 1:08:58
Speaker 2: Them plus one and a half?
• 1:08:59
Speaker 3: I sure am. No, minus one and a half.
• 1:09:01
Speaker 2: Minus one and a half.
• 1:09:03
  Speaker 3: Beautiful.
• 1:09:04
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:09:04
Speaker 1: All of us are just in different spots right now.
• 1:09:05
  Speaker 2: You feel that?
• 1:09:06
Speaker 3: I mean, you're... Everything you said about Kamario Taylor, I
• 1:09:10
Speaker 3: actually believe about him. I agree, dude.
• 1:09:12
Speaker 2: You think he's going to beat all 11 out there
• 1:09:13
  Speaker 2: on the field.
• 1:09:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he'll be the best player on the
• 1:09:15
Speaker 3: field Saturday. I'm not talking about from NFL draft. I'm
• 1:09:18
Speaker 3: not talking about all that. I'm saying the play that
• 1:09:20
Speaker 3: he has Saturday, I think it'll grab a lot of eyeballs.
• 1:09:24
Speaker 3: I'm talking about casuals. We watch him. We've already known
• 1:09:27
Speaker 3: about him. And I think maybe some people have heard
• 1:09:29
Speaker 3: his name, but they haven't watched him.
• 1:09:31
Speaker 2: They definitely started to this week because that viral clip
• 1:09:33
Speaker 2: of him essentially being flat-footed. Shoulder squared, roping at 60
• 1:09:36
  Speaker 2: yards downfield.
• 1:09:37
Speaker 1: They set a school record by over 100 yards of
• 1:09:40
Speaker 1: what the previous record was of total offense.
• 1:09:42
Speaker 2: Yeah. And what is he, 6'4, 230? Yeah, the kid
• 1:09:46
Speaker 2: is fucking fast, bro. Yes, I agree.
• 1:09:50
Speaker 1: The only thing I have hesitation in is the short
• 1:09:53
Speaker 1: yard throws that are just total gimmies that he just
• 1:09:56
Speaker 1: kind of puts in the dirt every once in a
• 1:09:57
Speaker 1: while from an accuracy standpoint.
• 1:10:00
Speaker 2: Like the overconfidence sometimes.
• 1:10:01
Speaker 1: First play of the game, they roll out, he tries
• 1:10:04
Speaker 1: to throw a vert, and there is an underneath route
• 1:10:07
Speaker 1: about 20, 25 yards that is wide open that'll be
• 1:10:10
Speaker 1: massively explosive, and he doesn't take it because he wants.
• 1:10:13
Speaker 1: He wants what we're talking about. It's how athletic he is,
• 1:10:16
Speaker 1: how he's not afraid of anything. He can throw a
• 1:10:18
Speaker 1: rope from a flat footed, all the things. And he
• 1:10:21
Speaker 1: can do all those things. I'm banking on Minnesota slowing
• 1:10:25
Speaker 1: this game down, about the defensive line having a good
• 1:10:27
  Speaker 1: pass rush.
• 1:10:28
Speaker 3: Just playing a smart football team.
• 1:10:30
Speaker 1: Just a smart, gritty, salty football team.
• 1:10:34
Speaker 2: Like, slow it down.
• 1:10:34
Speaker 1: You're going over a high-tempo offense versus an offense that
• 1:10:37
Speaker 1: wants to control the clock. They want to sit there.
• 1:10:40
Speaker 1: And you're playing up in Minnesota. They're going to lean
• 1:10:42
Speaker 1: on you. I'm just not strong on their defensive line
• 1:10:46
Speaker 1: at Mississippi State. They didn't feel to me like they were...
• 1:10:50
Speaker 1: really answering the physicality of UL Monroe.
• 1:10:54
Speaker 2: Yeah. And to your point too, people who are tuned
• 1:10:57
Speaker 2: in that could be casuals, you started to hear Camario
• 1:10:59
Speaker 2: Taylor's name, buy the stock in Camario Taylor, but also
• 1:11:02
Speaker 2: can't quit buying the stock in the Fleck Bank because
• 1:11:05
Speaker 2: they're going up to Minnesota. You got old PJ Fleck
• 1:11:07
Speaker 2: up there. They're not going to make a mistake.
• 1:11:10
Speaker 3: Not a single one. That's why Minnesota's in the playoffs
• 1:11:11
  Speaker 3: every year.
• 1:11:12
Speaker 2: They can get beat, but they're going to be in
• 1:11:14
Speaker 2: the right spot while they can beat.
• 1:11:16
Speaker 3: I'm hearing 70 degrees and sunny.
• 1:11:18
Speaker 2: Yeah. Great day for some ball.
• 1:11:19
Speaker 3: But yet, if Mississippi State wins this game, check back
• 1:11:23
Speaker 3: with me in December, and I will fully count this
• 1:11:26
Speaker 3: as a Southern team winning a game up North in
• 1:11:29
Speaker 3: Northern conditions. Because no one will even remember by that point.
• 1:11:33
Speaker 2: That's the SEC painting I love. They went up to Minnesota.
• 1:11:35
Speaker 3: They went all the way up there.
• 1:11:37
  Speaker 2: All the way.
• 1:11:38
Speaker 3: Yeah, they didn't even beat St.
• 1:11:39
  Speaker 2: Louis.
• 1:11:40
Speaker 3: I feel good about this game. This is a five
• 1:11:42
Speaker 3: for me. I'm 1-0 on the season on five-unit bats.
• 1:11:45
  Speaker 3: I'm undefeated.
• 1:11:47
  Speaker 2: Yeah, you are.
• 1:11:47
Speaker 3: Ah, you son of a bitch. You are too, boy. God.
• 1:11:53
Speaker 2: As we've won. You're never as good as you are.
• 1:11:56
Speaker 2: You're never as bad as you think you are. We
• 1:11:57
Speaker 2: had the entire floor around that Baylor-Auburn game. Yeah, that was.
• 1:12:02
Speaker 2: A big portion of the floor sitting around that Baylor-Auburn,
• 1:12:05
Speaker 2: that two-point conversion. And just, man, when it was, what
• 1:12:07
  Speaker 2: was it, fourth and 10, fourth, 11, 12? You're talking
• 1:12:10
Speaker 2: too loud about the game. Can I be honest too? Yes,
• 1:12:13
Speaker 2: of course. It was fourth and long and DJ Lagway.
• 1:12:17
Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, this is where we're going to hit here.
• 1:12:20
Speaker 2: And DJ Lagway made it happen. But then he DJ
• 1:12:23
Speaker 2: Lagwayed on that emotion.
• 1:12:24
Speaker 3: DJ Lagwayed on that last play.
• 1:12:26
Speaker 2: Can I tell you something? It's even more important than
• 1:12:28
Speaker 2: Josh with these five units is he has successfully gotten
• 1:12:32
Speaker 2: us off the scent of he bought stock in DJ
• 1:12:35
Speaker 2: Lagway again this year. He said, hey, I wasn't wrong.
• 1:12:39
Speaker 2: I was just early. And he had three turnovers, two turnovers.
• 1:12:44
Speaker 2: He was crippled. He was crippled.
• 1:12:45
Speaker 3: He was dragging around a peg leg.
• 1:12:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, but then it started going well and then he
• 1:12:48
  Speaker 1: started looking good.
• 1:12:49
Speaker 3: DJ Lagway should have gone to the hospital at halftime. Instead,
• 1:12:52
Speaker 3: he went to that locker.
• 1:12:53
Speaker 2: Room and he did his best. He made it, for
• 1:12:55
Speaker 2: damn sure, made it seem like that.
• 1:12:56
Speaker 1: If that ball was just here instead of here, they'd
• 1:13:00
  Speaker 1: win that game.
• 1:13:01
Speaker 3: Pray for Prairie View this week. DJ's not done.
• 1:13:05
Speaker 2: I'm not done. Oh, Josh. I'm not going to say....
• 1:13:11
  Speaker 3: Are you serious?
• 1:13:13
Speaker 2: It's crazy we're over an hour into the show and
• 1:13:15
Speaker 2: you're just now realizing Sherm's not here.
• 1:13:17
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 1:13:17
Speaker 2: What is your friendship really?
• 1:13:18
Speaker 3: What did you say about foxholes and week two and
• 1:13:20
  Speaker 3: all that stuff?
• 1:13:21
Speaker 2: I'm with you, dude. I'm alone in my foxhole. Actually,
• 1:13:23
  Speaker 2: I got clumped.
• 1:13:25
Speaker 1: I got clumped in my foxhole, which is the worst
• 1:13:27
Speaker 1: guy to have in your foxhole.
• 1:13:30
  Speaker 2: I love him.
• 1:13:31
Speaker 1: I think he's great. He is the worst person to
• 1:13:34
Speaker 1: have in your foxhole with you.
• 1:13:35
Speaker 3: I'll tell you what, he makes you feel confident.
• 1:13:37
Speaker 2: The Michigan game has turned him so much that he's
• 1:13:38
Speaker 2: gone back to being a troll on the internet.
• 1:13:40
Speaker 1: Or he's just saying, the most outlandish shit. I'm sitting
• 1:13:43
Speaker 1: there rocking my baby, and I'm just like, bro, we
• 1:13:46
  Speaker 1: got to.
• 1:13:46
Speaker 3: What are we doing?
• 1:13:47
Speaker 2: We can't be doing this.
• 1:13:48
Speaker 3: What are we doing?
• 1:13:49
Speaker 2: Yeah. Your name's attached to mine. All right, Josh, we're
• 1:13:52
Speaker 2: on the show, so I'm not going to say how
• 1:13:55
Speaker 2: are your crimson tie going to do in Kentucky. But
• 1:13:57
Speaker 2: right now, Bama favored, double digits on the road, minus
• 1:14:00
Speaker 2: 10.5 at Kentucky. The over-under on this game is 49.5. Oh.
• 1:14:05
Speaker 2: We have some paper popper stats, and hopefully it's about
• 1:14:08
Speaker 2: Alabama performing on the road under DeBoer.
• 1:14:11
Speaker 3: It is how they perform on the road under Kalen DeBoer.
• 1:14:13
Speaker 3: Kalen DeBoer is a ranked favorite on the road. Seven
• 1:14:16
Speaker 3: and five, straight up. Four and eight against the spread.
• 1:14:22
Speaker 2: This is Delaney Walker stats.
• 1:14:23
Speaker 3: He's catching Kentucky in week two. So even if Kentucky
• 1:14:26
Speaker 3: is going to be bad this year, they don't know that.
• 1:14:28
  Speaker 3: They're healthy. They're at home. It's really the first. It's
• 1:14:33
Speaker 3: kind of like the premiere. Last week was the dress
• 1:14:35
Speaker 3: rehearsal against the Penguins of Youngstown State. This is the
• 1:14:39
Speaker 3: season debut to the world of Will Stein as a
• 1:14:43
Speaker 3: head coach. So you got two new quarterbacks in this game.
• 1:14:48
Speaker 3: Keelan Russell's making his first meaningful start. So is Kenny Menchie.
• 1:14:52
Speaker 3: I'm looking forward to seeing how Menchie performs. Keelan Russell
• 1:14:54
Speaker 3: wants all things break down for him. He can bail
• 1:14:58
Speaker 3: himself out with his legs. I don't think that's Kenny
• 1:14:59
Speaker 3: Menchie's game per se. Bama last week, it was a
• 1:15:04
Speaker 3: big final score against East Carolina.
• 1:15:07
  Speaker 6: Yeah.
• 1:15:08
Speaker 3: Looks good. The box score looks good. If you watch
• 1:15:11
Speaker 3: the game, which I did in your hotel room, without
• 1:15:14
Speaker 3: you there, and I appreciate that.
• 1:15:15
  Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
• 1:15:17
Speaker 3: No context needed. Absolutely no context needed. Operationally, it was unsound,
• 1:15:22
Speaker 3: which is not the first time you've said that about
• 1:15:24
Speaker 3: a team with a first-time starter at quarterback. But there
• 1:15:27
Speaker 3: was a lot of stuff that you don't have to
• 1:15:28
Speaker 3: pay the price for last week, that if you duplicate
• 1:15:31
Speaker 3: it on the road against Kentucky, you would have to
• 1:15:34
Speaker 3: pay the price for, like Ryan Williams dropping balls. No
• 1:15:37
Speaker 3: one cares because you won the game and he still
• 1:15:39
Speaker 3: had over 100. But you do that this week, you
• 1:15:41
Speaker 3: probably do pay for it. I do think that defensively,
• 1:15:47
Speaker 3: you had to love what you saw from Bama last week.
• 1:15:50
Speaker 3: And that was really more so than the quarterback position,
• 1:15:52
Speaker 3: what I was watching all throughout fall camp and to
• 1:15:54
Speaker 3: start the year. Because that was the area last year
• 1:15:57
Speaker 3: you could get them a little bit, especially short yardage.
• 1:15:59
Speaker 3: They were like 15th of 16 in terms of total size.
• 1:16:02
Speaker 3: I think I said that last week up front. So
• 1:16:04
Speaker 3: they've greatly upgraded there. They're much deeper personnel wise there
• 1:16:08
Speaker 3: right now. So when they go on the road this week,
• 1:16:11
Speaker 3: everyone will, similarly to what we talked about with other teams,
• 1:16:14
Speaker 3: they'll be watching the quarterback position. To me, I'm just
• 1:16:17
Speaker 3: as much watching EJ Crowell at tailback, who's probably their best,
• 1:16:21
Speaker 3: even though he's a true freshman. I'm really watching that
• 1:16:24
Speaker 3: offensive line have to go on the road for the
• 1:16:25
Speaker 3: first time. That's still very much a work in progress.
• 1:16:28
Speaker 3: I'm watching Keelan Russell. Some of his escapability in some
• 1:16:32
Speaker 3: plays that broke down last week against inferior athletes. Is
• 1:16:36
Speaker 3: he still upright against a legitimate SEC team on the road?
• 1:16:41
Speaker 3: Remains to be seen. I do think if the Kentucky
• 1:16:45
Speaker 3: run game is not there. I don't know that they
• 1:16:48
Speaker 3: have the skill at wide receiver against Bama secondary to
• 1:16:51
Speaker 3: really take advantage. I don't think they have game changers
• 1:16:53
Speaker 3: at wide receiver. I think Alabama does have that ability.
• 1:16:57
Speaker 3: I have not gotten to where I can trust them
• 1:17:00
Speaker 3: on the road under DeBoer in this spot though. So
• 1:17:04
Speaker 3: as far as the spread goes, I'm taking Kentucky plus
• 1:17:07
Speaker 3: 10 and a half. It is a one unit bet
• 1:17:10
Speaker 3: for me. Another low confidence game. I think the number
• 1:17:13
Speaker 3: is almost dead on the money, right? So I think
• 1:17:15
Speaker 3: It's like Tennessee. I think Tennessee will win on the road,
• 1:17:17
Speaker 3: but not cover. I think Bama will win on the road,
• 1:17:19
  Speaker 3: but not cover.
• 1:17:20
Speaker 2: So you're really betting one game this week.
• 1:17:22
Speaker 1: You got one game that you feel the most confident about,
• 1:17:24
Speaker 1: and that's Mississippi State.
• 1:17:25
Speaker 3: My entire life is in the hands of Kamario Taylor.
• 1:17:28
Speaker 2: Yeah. It was DJ Lagway. Kamario Taylor, this is a
• 1:17:31
  Speaker 2: reputation game.
• 1:17:32
  Speaker 3: Sure was.
• 1:17:32
Speaker 2: It was a DJ Lagway.
• 1:17:33
  Speaker 3: Sure was.
• 1:17:34
Speaker 2: Kamario Taylor is a reputation game for you.
• 1:17:36
Speaker 3: DJ came through for me.
• 1:17:38
Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, he did.
• 1:17:40
Speaker 3: You know, there was a rumor floating around that I
• 1:17:41
Speaker 3: took Baylor outright, which, as we all know, is complete nonsense.
• 1:17:44
Speaker 3: And I don't know who propagated it.
• 1:17:45
Speaker 2: You had your opportunity to speak on it.
• 1:17:47
Speaker 3: On live TV. I don't know who spread the rumor.
• 1:17:49
Speaker 2: Didn't shun it. Almost could have been a hero.
• 1:17:53
Speaker 3: We're in the entertainment business.
• 1:17:54
  Speaker 2: No doubt.
• 1:17:55
Speaker 3: And it was a lie, but it was an entertaining lie.
• 1:17:56
Speaker 3: So I let it ride. Okay.
• 1:17:58
Speaker 1: And I literally told you before commercial break, I was like, hey,
• 1:17:59
Speaker 1: I'm going to serve it up like this.
• 1:18:01
Speaker 2: Come on in. Yeah. And I thought to myself, surely
• 1:18:04
Speaker 2: he's not going anywhere.
• 1:18:05
Speaker 3: No, what happened is you told me during the break,
• 1:18:07
Speaker 3: but the people were talking in my ear. And so
• 1:18:09
Speaker 3: all I saw was, I had no idea it was coming,
• 1:18:13
Speaker 3: but I am taking Kentucky plus the points.
• 1:18:16
Speaker 2: One unit. I got a paper popper set. Go ahead.
• 1:18:21
Speaker 2: I hate this line. Oh, wow. That's my paper. Does
• 1:18:24
Speaker 2: it sit on the paper right there? Yeah.
• 1:18:26
  Speaker 3: That is great.
• 1:18:26
Speaker 2: At the very top.
• 1:18:27
  Speaker 3: Hate this line.
• 1:18:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. I did enjoy seeing Alabama try to
• 1:18:31
Speaker 2: run the football. I feel like it was more by
• 1:18:34
Speaker 2: design from old coach Grubb. They did not do a
• 1:18:36
Speaker 2: very good job of it. Again, I almost said Kamario Taylor.
• 1:18:41
Speaker 2: But Russell, Keelan Russell, having over 80 yards on the ground,
• 1:18:44
Speaker 2: then you want to go back and look at the tape.
• 1:18:46
Speaker 2: And it's all scramble drill. The dude is a freak
• 1:18:48
Speaker 2: athlete as well. Similar to... the Kamario Taylor, Faison Brandon. Yeah,
• 1:18:54
Speaker 2: I don't like this line. I'm just going to tail
• 1:18:56
Speaker 2: Josh with one unit, and that's strictly just for the camera,
• 1:18:59
Speaker 2: just going to tail Josh Pate with one unit. Part
• 1:19:02
Speaker 2: of me wanted to go over in this game, but Yeah,
• 1:19:05
Speaker 2: I like Minchie and Stein.
• 1:19:06
Speaker 3: I like that pairing.
• 1:19:07
Speaker 2: I will go on record and say I like Minchie.
• 1:19:10
Speaker 3: Wow. That's on the record.
• 1:19:11
Speaker 2: But against the secondary, against O'Hubbard in the secondary... If
• 1:19:15
Speaker 2: they show up, if Alabama's not able to run the
• 1:19:17
Speaker 2: football that well, that's clearly an under vibe for me.
• 1:19:21
Speaker 2: I like both offenses being able to move the ball.
• 1:19:23
Speaker 2: That would be an over. Again, I hate everything about
• 1:19:26
Speaker 2: this line. I'm leaning on DeBoer and Bama traveling on
• 1:19:29
Speaker 2: the road as a double-digit favorite. And the stat, four
• 1:19:33
Speaker 2: and eight, you know, against the spread. I'm just going
• 1:19:36
Speaker 2: to go ahead and take Kentucky. One unit plus ten
• 1:19:38
  Speaker 2: and a half.
• 1:19:39
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 1:19:40
Speaker 2: And also, it's like, to your point, Kentucky's kind of
• 1:19:44
Speaker 2: juiced right now just internally with momentum that they could
• 1:19:47
Speaker 2: have going because they don't know if they're bad or not.
• 1:19:49
Speaker 2: They don't know if they're good or not. You know,
• 1:19:50
Speaker 2: they got this breath of fresh air with Coach Will
• 1:19:53
Speaker 2: Stein who does have the confidence in the media, who's
• 1:19:56
Speaker 2: got those guys believing, who we've been to. We've been
• 1:19:59
Speaker 2: to the program out at Oregon when he's there where
• 1:20:01
Speaker 2: he's got everybody kind of dialed in and talking ball
• 1:20:04
Speaker 2: with him to where they're all going to know what
• 1:20:06
Speaker 2: to do. They're going to know how to win this game.
• 1:20:09
Speaker 2: It is going to be against a great secondary against Bama.
• 1:20:12
Speaker 2: So I'm just going to go Kentucky plus 10 and
• 1:20:14
  Speaker 2: a half, one unit. Yeah, I think that's great. I
• 1:20:17
  Speaker 2: like Stein.
• 1:20:19
Speaker 1: I think he's an incredible, was an incredible offensive coordinator
• 1:20:21
Speaker 1: at Oregon. He's had multiple quarterbacks that are in the
• 1:20:24
Speaker 1: NFL or going to the NFL. I think the thing
• 1:20:27
Speaker 1: he does incredibly well is having his quarterback see the
• 1:20:30
Speaker 1: entire field and make very good decisions and don't put
• 1:20:34
Speaker 1: themselves in positions to give up the football. He does
• 1:20:37
Speaker 1: a great job of painting a picture. These are how
• 1:20:39
Speaker 1: these defenses look, but you have a great secondary in Alabama.
• 1:20:43
Speaker 1: They came in, and you know the head coach is
• 1:20:46
Speaker 1: an offensive guy, and you can see it the way
• 1:20:47
Speaker 1: they spent their money in the transfer portal. They juiced
• 1:20:50
Speaker 1: their offensive line. They tried to get a bunch of weapons.
• 1:20:54
Speaker 1: Some guys that had great first years get hurt and
• 1:20:57
Speaker 1: then come in, but still you've seen a little bit
• 1:20:58
Speaker 1: on film of like, oh, this guy had 800 yards receiving.
• 1:21:01
Speaker 1: This guy is a five-star. This freshman is pretty good.
• 1:21:04
Speaker 1: I love the balance of Kentucky from a run and
• 1:21:09
Speaker 1: pass standpoint. I can see the secondary being an issue,
• 1:21:14
Speaker 1: but I think they'll make up for that in the
• 1:21:16
Speaker 1: run game. But I also love Keelan Russell and his
• 1:21:19
Speaker 1: ability to scramble. I don't think the run game, I'll
• 1:21:22
Speaker 1: be proven wrong if they ever do, that the run
• 1:21:24
Speaker 1: game's gotten better because it really is all scramble drill
• 1:21:27
Speaker 1: and an elite athlete getting away from inferior opponents. Ryan Williams,
• 1:21:31
Speaker 1: other than that, who else is going to show up
• 1:21:34
Speaker 1: when your number one wide receiver does have this yep
• 1:21:36
Speaker 1: type of issue? The big news coming out of Tuscaloosa
• 1:21:39
Speaker 1: this week is that he's not going to be wearing
• 1:21:41
Speaker 1: gloves during the game, and that's going to fix everything.
• 1:21:43
Speaker 1: The offensive line for Alabama.
• 1:21:45
Speaker 2: Does make me worried.
• 1:21:47
Speaker 1: I think they have a freshman at left tackle, two
• 1:21:51
Speaker 1: sophomores that have little to no starting experience, and then
• 1:21:55
  Speaker 1: their center.
• 1:21:56
Speaker 2: Is a transfer from Cal Poly.
• 1:21:58
Speaker 1: So they have not a lot of continuity, not a
• 1:22:00
Speaker 1: lot of guys that have experience in SEC games, and
• 1:22:03
Speaker 1: I think they could work against them. But as much
• 1:22:05
Speaker 1: as it'll work against them, Keelan Russell's athletic ability will
• 1:22:09
Speaker 1: keep the chains moving. I like the over in this game.
• 1:22:12
Speaker 1: I like both teams scoring a lot of points. It's
• 1:22:14
Speaker 1: 49 and a half right now. I'm going to put
• 1:22:16
Speaker 1: three units on it. But I'm excited about Will Stein
• 1:22:20
Speaker 1: in Kentucky. If I had to pick one, I think
• 1:22:22
Speaker 1: Alabama walks away with this win. and we just still
• 1:22:25
Speaker 1: have question marks on both sides. Like, can Alabama still
• 1:22:28
Speaker 1: run the ball? Is Kentucky good? Are they kind of
• 1:22:30
Speaker 1: middle of the pack? What are they going to be?
• 1:22:32
Speaker 1: I don't think any questions truly get answered at the
• 1:22:34
Speaker 1: end of this game, but I think it'll be exciting
• 1:22:36
Speaker 1: for a lot of fans to watch. So I like
• 1:22:38
  Speaker 1: the over.
• 1:22:40
Speaker 3: I could get with that.
• 1:22:42
Speaker 2: I like that. I had it on there, but I'm
• 1:22:44
Speaker 2: just like, you know what? I don't have the best feel.
• 1:22:48
Speaker 1: Minchie, dude, I think Minchie's kind of nice.
• 1:22:50
Speaker 2: And if he is, that's plus 10.5. He'll be there. Yeah.
• 1:22:53
Speaker 2: It'll be there for us. One unit sitting right there
• 1:22:56
Speaker 2: for the taking. Yeah, absolutely. We got gravely game of
• 1:22:59
Speaker 2: the week. Yep. Gravely game of the week. Texas, Ohio State.
• 1:23:06
Speaker 2: Ohio State traveling to Austin. I said it last week
• 1:23:09
Speaker 2: on the show, Steve Sarkeesian, you zoom out and look
• 1:23:11
Speaker 2: at this entire season. He could be somebody potentially entering
• 1:23:15
Speaker 2: the A-gap. This is a Huge game. And we are
• 1:23:18
Speaker 2: blessed to get to see a game like this still
• 1:23:20
Speaker 2: during this era of college football with Ohio State going
• 1:23:23
Speaker 2: down to Austin, Texas. Because in a lot of pockets
• 1:23:27
Speaker 2: of college football, these are both the best of the
• 1:23:29
Speaker 2: best in each conference, especially talent wise. You still have
• 1:23:32
Speaker 2: the question mark, like what's Ohio State's offensive line going
• 1:23:35
Speaker 2: to be? But this is a huge game that had
• 1:23:37
Speaker 2: implications last year that Stark is up on the in
• 1:23:40
Speaker 2: front of the press saying that you take this game
• 1:23:42
Speaker 2: out of it. or we come out on top of
• 1:23:45
Speaker 2: this game, that decided the playoff spot for Texas.
• 1:23:48
Speaker 1: And to mention the fact that they win the box
• 1:23:50
Speaker 1: score against Ohio State last year in week one, but
• 1:23:54
Speaker 1: they just didn't win the actual game. I think they
• 1:23:55
Speaker 1: had over 100 more total yards on offense.
• 1:23:58
Speaker 2: This game, I think, is perfect.
• 1:24:00
Speaker 1: The line is perfect where it's like you go with
• 1:24:02
Speaker 1: your heart, you go with your belief because both teams
• 1:24:04
Speaker 1: are extremely talented, and all the question marks that you
• 1:24:07
Speaker 1: may have had about them seems like they've answered.
• 1:24:10
Speaker 2: We talked about Texas.
• 1:24:11
Speaker 1: Their biggest issue last year was running the football. Last year,
• 1:24:14
Speaker 1: they had 12 rushes for over 20 yards in the
• 1:24:17
Speaker 1: totality of the season as a team. And Hollywood Smothers
• 1:24:20
Speaker 1: did that by himself last year. So they've answered that.
• 1:24:23
Speaker 1: They got Relique Brown, who also rushed for 1,000 yards.
• 1:24:26
Speaker 1: They brought in a tackle from Wake Forest, a lot
• 1:24:28
Speaker 1: of different transfer guys in the middle, and then they
• 1:24:30
Speaker 1: have Goosby at the left tackle position. You turn on
• 1:24:33
Speaker 1: the film in week one, it's against nobodies, but the
• 1:24:36
Speaker 1: offensive line looks like they're moving as a cohesive unit
• 1:24:39
Speaker 1: as opposed to five guys working individually, which is a
• 1:24:43
Speaker 1: good sign when you're worried about the run game. Three
• 1:24:46
Speaker 1: wide receivers that could be wide receiver ones anywhere else.
• 1:24:51
Speaker 1: Arch Manning, after the third quarter of Mississippi State, has.
• 1:24:54
Speaker 2: Turned into the Manning we believe he could be.
• 1:24:56
Speaker 1: But then you flip to the other side and it's like, oh,
• 1:24:58
Speaker 1: Ohio State has a bunch of draft picks on the
• 1:25:00
Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball.
• 1:25:01
Speaker 2: What's going to happen there?
• 1:25:03
Speaker 1: Well, Matt Patricia has already proven to us that he
• 1:25:04
Speaker 1: can do that because he had the number one defense
• 1:25:06
Speaker 1: in the country last year. And Arvel Reese, we didn't
• 1:25:08
Speaker 1: even know what that name was at this point in
• 1:25:10
Speaker 1: the season. Julian Sane, the biggest knock on him is
• 1:25:13
Speaker 1: that when pressure starts to come, he doesn't do a
• 1:25:15
Speaker 1: good job with the football. Well, we saw one play
• 1:25:17
Speaker 1: last week where he's getting hit as he's throwing a
• 1:25:20
Speaker 1: deep double move to Jeremiah Smith. And that ball is
• 1:25:24
Speaker 1: placed perfectly. So you look at everything and it's like, yeah.
• 1:25:28
Speaker 1: Both these teams seem to have answered their questions. Where
• 1:25:31
  Speaker 1: I lean is, I lean the A-gap. I lean with
• 1:25:34
Speaker 1: Sark and Muschamp, knowing that his specialty is getting quarterbacks uncomfortable,
• 1:25:40
Speaker 1: which would work in favor against what the knock has
• 1:25:42
Speaker 1: been on Julian Satan, even though he's beefed up a
• 1:25:44
Speaker 1: little bit. I like Texas at minus one and a
• 1:25:48
  Speaker 1: half here.
• 1:25:49
  Speaker 2: It's at home.
• 1:25:50
Speaker 1: They have to travel. I think both teams could walk
• 1:25:53
Speaker 1: out of here with a win. Clearly, the line says
• 1:25:55
Speaker 1: the same thing, but at the end of the day,
• 1:25:56
Speaker 1: it's like, I'm just going to go with the home team.
• 1:25:59
Speaker 1: I think Arch has a get-back game here, and they cover.
• 1:26:02
Speaker 1: I'll put three units on that.
• 1:26:05
Speaker 2: You have a good feel?
• 1:26:06
Speaker 3: Not really. I'm going to go two units on Texas
• 1:26:08
Speaker 3: minus the points. But do you feel like we're kind
• 1:26:10
Speaker 3: of trying to will Texas into one of these big
• 1:26:13
  Speaker 3: wins finally?
• 1:26:13
Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely. I could see that. But it's like.
• 1:26:17
Speaker 1: I mean, we talked about the wounded animal theory in
• 1:26:18
Speaker 1: the beginning of the show, like Sark is every bit
• 1:26:20
Speaker 1: of that. He just might not know it yet. Like
• 1:26:23
Speaker 1: when you see a deer get hit and they kind
• 1:26:24
Speaker 1: of run off, like they know something bad happened, but
• 1:26:26
Speaker 1: they don't know how bad the damage actually is. This
• 1:26:30
Speaker 1: is one of those games Sark has to win if
• 1:26:33
Speaker 1: this agap is going to kind of start to get
• 1:26:34
Speaker 1: a little bit more quiet because you talked about the
• 1:26:37
Speaker 1: egos of texas the cowboy hats the pageantry you know
• 1:26:40
Speaker 1: bevo like this school has is a blue chip school
• 1:26:43
Speaker 1: that demands national championships and he has the roster they
• 1:26:47
Speaker 1: have the boosters money in it so i think in
• 1:26:50
Speaker 1: a lot of ways yes because on the other side
• 1:26:52
Speaker 1: you look at ohio state it's like oh they've won
• 1:26:54
Speaker 1: a national championship the biggest knock on them is they
• 1:26:55
  Speaker 1: haven't won a big 10 championship in a few years
• 1:26:57
Speaker 1: but they still are playing for national championship. They're in
• 1:27:00
Speaker 1: semifinals every single year. Like Ryan Day is sitting pretty
• 1:27:04
Speaker 1: on his side of the fence. And it's like, we're
• 1:27:06
Speaker 1: kind of looking at Sark like, bro, we're rooting for
• 1:27:08
Speaker 1: you here. We kind of need you to get this done.
• 1:27:10
  Speaker 3: That's how I feel.
• 1:27:11
Speaker 1: In order for the SEC to have serious relevance. And
• 1:27:15
Speaker 1: if the SEC does win this game, it's like after
• 1:27:18
Speaker 1: week one, everyone's going to overreact. But we would also say,
• 1:27:21
Speaker 1: Ohio State's now your clear number one based on what's
• 1:27:24
Speaker 1: taking place in week one.
• 1:27:26
Speaker 3: So I agree with everything you just said. I still
• 1:27:30
Speaker 3: think it's out there for Sark. Like I keep waiting
• 1:27:32
Speaker 3: for it. I do think last week, granted it's, they
• 1:27:37
Speaker 3: didn't run Arch at all last week. His mobility will
• 1:27:40
Speaker 3: be part of their game plan this week. They had,
• 1:27:42
Speaker 3: maybe this is a paper popper. I don't know. They
• 1:27:44
Speaker 3: had a tackle at or behind the line of scrimmage
• 1:27:47
Speaker 3: 11 times per Tyler Horka. That's Texas's offense. Getting met
• 1:27:52
Speaker 3: at or behind the line of scrimmage. could be an aberration,
• 1:27:55
Speaker 3: could be something that pops up early against Ohio State
• 1:27:58
Speaker 3: and they look like they're in quicksand and they can't
• 1:28:00
Speaker 3: get started at all. So I'm keeping an eye on that.
• 1:28:03
Speaker 3: I really think both defenses have a net advantage against
• 1:28:08
Speaker 3: these offensive lines until proven otherwise, which just leads me
• 1:28:12
Speaker 3: to think, is this the kind of game where things
• 1:28:14
Speaker 3: look kind of discombobulated? There's not a whole lot of
• 1:28:17
Speaker 3: rhythm and boom, Jeremiah Smith for 70. or boom, Ryan Wingo,
• 1:28:21
Speaker 3: Cam Coleman for 65. Because it doesn't feel like the
• 1:28:24
Speaker 3: kind of game where either offense is just consistently moving
• 1:28:27
Speaker 3: the ball. It feels like pick your spots, take your
• 1:28:31
Speaker 3: shot kind of game. And I also think back to
• 1:28:33
Speaker 3: the last couple of years, like I can picture Ohio
• 1:28:36
Speaker 3: State watching what Georgia has been able to do to Texas.
• 1:28:40
Speaker 3: the last three times they played them and saying, we
• 1:28:42
Speaker 3: can do that. Not to mention we did it to
• 1:28:44
Speaker 3: them last year in Columbus. But I also picture Texas
• 1:28:47
Speaker 3: watching what Miami is did to Ohio State in the
• 1:28:51
Speaker 3: playoffs and saying, wait a minute, we got Colin Simmons here.
• 1:28:54
Speaker 3: So we could get after them. Plus, we're going to
• 1:28:56
Speaker 3: have home crowd advantage at our back. So we could
• 1:28:59
Speaker 3: disrupt every bit as much. If there's any doubt about
• 1:29:01
Speaker 3: Julian's saying and how he handles pressure, we can put
• 1:29:04
Speaker 3: it on him. And so I think it's just like
• 1:29:06
Speaker 3: it's irresistible for us. It's a movable object, at least
• 1:29:09
Speaker 3: in your mind it is, if you're either one of
• 1:29:11
Speaker 3: these teams. To me, it's as simple as if I
• 1:29:13
Speaker 3: think all things else are pretty evenly matched, I'll just
• 1:29:16
Speaker 3: ride home field. And so I'll go Texas minus one
• 1:29:19
Speaker 3: and a half. It's two units for me. Can't wait
• 1:29:22
  Speaker 3: to watch it.
• 1:29:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel the same way.
• 1:29:24
Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, both these
• 1:29:25
Speaker 1: teams are very equal and look great against each other
• 1:29:29
Speaker 1: on paper. And that's where home field is the thing
• 1:29:32
Speaker 1: that just moves me to the side of Texas.
• 1:29:34
Speaker 3: I think Texas needs to win it. Ohio State would
• 1:29:36
Speaker 3: love to win this thing. I think Texas needs to
• 1:29:38
  Speaker 3: win this game.
• 1:29:39
Speaker 2: I think they feel that expectation going into it. All
• 1:29:41
Speaker 2: of the Pressure even coming off the loss last year,
• 1:29:44
Speaker 2: being a three-loss team, trying to argue your way into
• 1:29:47
Speaker 2: the playoffs, the potential A-gap that Sark could be going in.
• 1:29:50
Speaker 2: Everybody in Texas is going to feel this moment this Saturday,
• 1:29:53
Speaker 2: and I think they're ready for the moment come Saturday.
• 1:29:55
Speaker 2: Where I'm kicking myself and kicking us three is I'm aligned. Oh, no.
• 1:30:01
Speaker 2: On Texas. You need to go Ohio State. Oh, no.
• 1:30:04
Speaker 2: I can't do it. Matter of fact, I have a text.
• 1:30:05
Speaker 2: I'm not going to say if it was from Arthur
• 1:30:06
Speaker 2: Smith or not. But if you, Taylor, he says, and Delaney,
• 1:30:10
Speaker 2: but I guess he doesn't. watch the show. But if you,
• 1:30:13
Speaker 2: Taylor and Delaney pick Texas on your show, you will
• 1:30:15
Speaker 2: all be known as Judas to me. And dude, yesterday,
• 1:30:20
Speaker 2: this is one of those games too, where I wake
• 1:30:21
Speaker 2: up each morning and I'm kind of different on this
• 1:30:24
Speaker 2: game where yesterday I felt like I felt confident about
• 1:30:27
Speaker 2: Ohio state today. I'm where I'm kicking myself is that
• 1:30:32
Speaker 2: this is a game where you pick Ohio state because
• 1:30:34
Speaker 2: it's like, until it happens with Texas, you have to
• 1:30:37
Speaker 2: show me that this is going to happen at Texas.
• 1:30:40
Speaker 2: Whereas we're all three rooting for this to happen this
• 1:30:43
  Speaker 2: weekend in Texas.
• 1:30:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, but why are we, the better question is why
• 1:30:47
Speaker 1: are you two rooting for it to happen? Because clearly
• 1:30:51
Speaker 1: people are going to be like, oh, Taylor went to Michigan.
• 1:30:53
Speaker 1: He wants us to fail. It's like, well, they are
• 1:30:55
Speaker 1: my Big Ten champion. But that's honestly not how I
• 1:30:58
Speaker 1: feel in this situation because I do love Art, whether
• 1:30:59
Speaker 1: that was him or not. But also, you shouldn't say
• 1:31:03
Speaker 1: whether it was or not. And if you want to
• 1:31:04
Speaker 1: talk about Judas, like he became that the minute he
• 1:31:07
Speaker 1: decided to sign on with Ohio State to me.
• 1:31:08
Speaker 2: That's a great point. Yeah. You talk about stabbing one
• 1:31:11
Speaker 2: of your boys in the back.
• 1:31:11
Speaker 1: You talk about burning bridges. Like he called us friends
• 1:31:14
Speaker 1: at one point. And so I pick a different team.
• 1:31:16
Speaker 2: That's crazy. Quick break from the episode. Quick break from
• 1:31:19
Speaker 2: the conversation. Again, make sure you are subscribed to this channel.
• 1:31:22
Speaker 2: Make sure you're dropping comments throughout the episode. But we
• 1:31:24
Speaker 2: are brought to you by Neutral. Neutral tastes great. Tastes
• 1:31:26
Speaker 2: so much better than anything else that is out there.
• 1:31:28
Speaker 2: It's made with real vodka and real juice. That's what
• 1:31:30
Speaker 2: makes it delicious. Pineapple, watermelon. They also have new flavors,
• 1:31:34
Speaker 2: lime and strawberry. Perfect for social occasions because it's such
• 1:31:37
Speaker 2: a crowd pleaser, especially during football season. Think on the
• 1:31:41
Speaker 2: beach with friends, at an outdoor bar, on the lake,
• 1:31:43
Speaker 2: or even at your boy's birthday party. It's the perfect
• 1:31:46
Speaker 2: time of year to grab a 12-pack of Neutral for
• 1:31:48
Speaker 2: the beach or grab a bucket deal in your favorite
• 1:31:50
Speaker 2: bar to celebrate football season. Neutral, keep it tasty. Let's
• 1:31:55
Speaker 2: get back to this episode. But go on, sorry. I
• 1:31:58
Speaker 2: was going to say we're blessed now because we're a
• 1:32:01
Speaker 2: year's worth of experience for both Julian Sane and Arch Manning.
• 1:32:04
Speaker 2: Like we got them in the opener last week. Very young,
• 1:32:06
Speaker 2: very green. Went against good defenses. It was a defensive battle.
• 1:32:09
Speaker 2: My favorite part about this game is the Matt Patricia aspect,
• 1:32:13
Speaker 2: is the Will Muschamp aspect. So where I'm coming out
• 1:32:16
Speaker 2: on leaning Texas and like, yeah, I guess you could
• 1:32:19
Speaker 2: say rooting for Texas. is I think both coordinators, there's
• 1:32:21
Speaker 2: going to be a moment to where one of them
• 1:32:23
Speaker 2: has something dialed up in the second half. And a
• 1:32:25
Speaker 2: turnover takes place to where the quarterback, their quarterback is
• 1:32:28
Speaker 2: in position to go out and win the game. And
• 1:32:30
Speaker 2: I just think that moment this year belongs to Arch Manning.
• 1:32:33
Speaker 2: So for that reason, that's why I like Texas minus
• 1:32:35
Speaker 2: one and a half at home. I just think Arch Manning,
• 1:32:37
Speaker 2: he is ready for this moment, especially when you look
• 1:32:39
Speaker 2: at how he finished last year. Just all of the
• 1:32:43
Speaker 2: noise that's been around this kid. I like Julian saying, too,
• 1:32:45
Speaker 2: I just think Texas is going to get a turnover.
• 1:32:47
Speaker 2: They're going to be in enemy territory. It's going to
• 1:32:50
Speaker 2: be up to Arch Manning to go and win that game,
• 1:32:52
Speaker 2: whether it's the last series or a couple before, and
• 1:32:55
Speaker 2: then the defense bows up and Ohio State isn't able
• 1:32:57
Speaker 2: to figure it out at the end. I just think
• 1:32:59
Speaker 2: the moment is for Arch Manning, and I'm going Arch
• 1:33:01
Speaker 2: Manning in the moment on Saturday. So that's where I'm
• 1:33:03
Speaker 2: on the one and a half.
• 1:33:04
  Speaker 3: 7.30 Eastern.
• 1:33:06
Speaker 2: Prime time. All right, birthday party will be over. Good. Yeah, listen,
• 1:33:11
Speaker 2: we got Michigan, Oklahoma at 11. Like, after that game,
• 1:33:15
Speaker 2: we got a birthday party to be up for.
• 1:33:17
Speaker 3: So you're not going to watch Camario Taylor up in Minneapolis?
• 1:33:20
Speaker 2: It'll be on the game. It'll be on the TV.
• 1:33:23
Speaker 2: You'll be aware. Yeah. We'll be, I'll be sitting there. Oh, that's,
• 1:33:26
Speaker 2: that's great, sweetie. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. Oh, look at
• 1:33:29
  Speaker 2: that Pokemon.
• 1:33:29
Speaker 1: And then she'll walk away and be like, so what is,
• 1:33:31
Speaker 1: what is Kamario Taylor? What's Minnesota?
• 1:33:34
Speaker 2: Depending on the result of this Michigan, Oklahoma game, there's
• 1:33:36
Speaker 2: a couple of different situations.
• 1:33:37
  Speaker 3: Yep.
• 1:33:38
Speaker 2: Tell them. There's one where I am just alone, finding
• 1:33:41
Speaker 2: a TV to watch Kamario Taylor and trying to give
• 1:33:43
Speaker 2: my man as much space as possible. Cause I don't know,
• 1:33:46
Speaker 2: I won't know what to do during that afternoon, but
• 1:33:49
Speaker 2: then there's the other situation. where the confidence level five
• 1:33:52
Speaker 2: and that money line hits and Michigan shocks the world
• 1:33:54
  Speaker 2: against Oklahoma.
• 1:33:55
Speaker 3: Can you imagine him at 3.30?
• 1:33:56
  Speaker 2: I look like a genius.
• 1:33:57
Speaker 3: It's a party for you. The kids just happened to
• 1:34:00
  Speaker 3: be there.
• 1:34:00
Speaker 2: He took it over.
• 1:34:01
  Speaker 3: We're playing Pokemon.
• 1:34:01
Speaker 1: If Michigan wins this game, dude, there's going to be
• 1:34:05
Speaker 1: a wake up for every Michigan fan who's hating on
• 1:34:06
Speaker 1: Bryce Underwood right now. And I will look like a genius.
• 1:34:10
Speaker 1: But the most likely scenario is I look like a
• 1:34:14
Speaker 1: fucking dumbass at the end of this whole thing.
• 1:34:16
Speaker 2: And I'm good with those odds.
• 1:34:18
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:34:18
Speaker 2: We'll be playing Pokemon. We'll be playing the game, excited
• 1:34:21
Speaker 2: around the kids. Just being, we're going to both be
• 1:34:22
Speaker 2: Ash Ketchum. I won't be there if we lose. I'm
• 1:34:23
Speaker 2: going to be Brock with Onyx, dude. Yeah. And then
• 1:34:26
Speaker 2: we're going to be checking out Kamario Taylor. Just vibes
• 1:34:28
Speaker 2: are going to be high. We're going to be like,
• 1:34:29
Speaker 2: we can't wait to see this Ohio State-Texas game. Man,
• 1:34:32
Speaker 2: was it great to get that monkey off your back. Yeah. Hey,
• 1:34:35
Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood, I can't believe you threw for 350. I, yeah.
• 1:34:38
Speaker 2: I'm with you. But when, like, you guys commanded the
• 1:34:41
Speaker 2: line of scrimmage. Yeah. Bryce made the plays when he
• 1:34:43
Speaker 2: had to. Blake Frazier, Sprags, Guarnera. These guys just get
• 1:34:47
  Speaker 2: after it.
• 1:34:49
  Speaker 1: Owning Oklahoma's defense.
• 1:34:52
Speaker 2: Owning them. Brent Venable's crying.
• 1:34:55
  Speaker 3: Wow.
• 1:34:56
  Speaker 2: Yeah, dude.
• 1:34:57
Speaker 3: Go that far, huh?
• 1:34:57
Speaker 2: If you lose that big, you'll probably cry.
• 1:34:59
Speaker 3: Do you do fan fiction at all? You're doing it
• 1:35:04
Speaker 3: right now, actually. I'm just saying, do you normally participate
• 1:35:07
  Speaker 3: in fan fiction?
• 1:35:08
Speaker 1: I was doing something wrong there. There's a website that
• 1:35:10
Speaker 1: actually has my ID in for it.
• 1:35:12
Speaker 2: No, what is that?
• 1:35:13
Speaker 3: Fan fiction is like, I grew up in the South
• 1:35:16
Speaker 3: and it never snowed in Georgia. and I always wanted
• 1:35:19
Speaker 3: to see snow. So we did what is called wishcasting,
• 1:35:22
Speaker 3: where you turn on the weather channel, you look at
• 1:35:24
Speaker 3: the seven day forecast, and it doesn't matter if it
• 1:35:26
Speaker 3: says 52 and rain, you're thinking to yourself, nah, it'll
• 1:35:29
Speaker 3: be colder than 52. It's gonna snow next Thursday. but
• 1:35:35
Speaker 3: we're fictionalizing it, weather fictionalizing it. You can do that
• 1:35:38
Speaker 3: in football. You can get yourself sucked down that rabbit hole.
• 1:35:41
Speaker 3: You can even, hey, it's going to snow. I'm banging
• 1:35:43
Speaker 3: the table. It's going to snow. It doesn't change the
• 1:35:45
Speaker 3: fact that it's not going to snow. So all I'm
• 1:35:47
Speaker 3: saying is I used to be heartbroken every Christmas morning
• 1:35:50
Speaker 3: as a kid growing up because I thought all the
• 1:35:53
Speaker 3: fairy tales and the storybooks where you saw snow on Christmas,
• 1:35:56
Speaker 3: that meant it snows on Christmas. But in Harris County, Georgia,
• 1:35:59
Speaker 3: it doesn't snow on Christmas. And I would wake up
• 1:36:02
Speaker 3: every morning completely dejected That's just grass outside. There's no snow.
• 1:36:07
Speaker 3: But I did that to myself. It's not God's fault.
• 1:36:10
  Speaker 3: It's not the weatherman's fault. It's my fault. But I
• 1:36:13
Speaker 3: didn't know how to assignate blame properly. I didn't know
• 1:36:15
Speaker 3: how to take personal responsibility as a six-year-old kid. Now,
• 1:36:19
Speaker 3: you may think to yourself, well, once you're a full-grown adult,
• 1:36:21
Speaker 3: you'll know how to do that. But not always.
• 1:36:25
Speaker 2: He just fan fiction theoried your ass, bro. Yeah, he
• 1:36:28
Speaker 2: just fan nonfiction me.
• 1:36:30
Speaker 3: So you're saying I'm you at six.
• 1:36:31
Speaker 2: Maybe it's all irrelevant.
• 1:36:32
  Speaker 3: Maybe it's nonsense.
• 1:36:33
Speaker 2: You're saying I'm you at six.
• 1:36:35
Speaker 3: I'm saying you're going to look out on the ground
• 1:36:37
  Speaker 3: at 3.30 Saturday.
• 1:36:39
Speaker 1: Yeah, and there'll be a birthday party going on. And
• 1:36:41
Speaker 1: I'll have the biggest smile on my face in the world.
• 1:36:43
Speaker 3: There could be snow out there. There could be snow.
• 1:36:45
  Speaker 3: I told you I think it's going to be a
• 1:36:46
Speaker 3: close game. But I said it with low confidence. You
• 1:36:50
Speaker 3: slapped the table five units on this.
• 1:36:52
  Speaker 2: I did.
• 1:36:52
Speaker 3: There's no doubt in your mind.
• 1:36:54
  Speaker 6: No.
• 1:36:56
Speaker 2: We too. We too.
• 1:36:58
Speaker 1: Post week two is when I will give my true
• 1:36:59
Speaker 1: opinion about Michigan. Until then, I ride with my team.
• 1:37:02
  Speaker 3: That's great.
• 1:37:03
Speaker 2: So you could be off of them after week two.
• 1:37:05
  Speaker 3: Yeah. Oh, shit.
• 1:37:07
  Speaker 2: What?
• 1:37:09
Speaker 1: I will have to take a real look in the
• 1:37:10
Speaker 1: mirror and have a conversation about what Michigan really is
• 1:37:12
Speaker 1: this year after week two.
• 1:37:14
Speaker 2: What? Not to call you out on your fandom, you.
• 1:37:20
Speaker 3: Said you can't leave the team.
• 1:37:22
Speaker 2: Hold up the sign, Jack. We ride with Michigan until
• 1:37:26
Speaker 2: the wheels fall off.
• 1:37:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, if Michigan gets embarrassed against Oklahoma, the wheels would
• 1:37:31
Speaker 1: technically be off at that point.
• 1:37:32
Speaker 3: That's not going to happen.
• 1:37:32
Speaker 2: And then you have to sit there. But the speech
• 1:37:34
  Speaker 2: you gave is.
• 1:37:34
  Speaker 1: I'm not saying F, I wouldn't say F Michigan, Bryce Underwood,
• 1:37:37
Speaker 1: put him in a casket, he's done. I would have
• 1:37:39
Speaker 1: a realistic look like, okay, clearly we're not the team
• 1:37:42
  Speaker 1: we thought.
• 1:37:43
Speaker 2: You're out of the foxhole.
• 1:37:45
Speaker 1: No, I'm in the foxhole, but I just know like,
• 1:37:46
Speaker 1: I'm jumping on the grenade now. And I know when
• 1:37:49
Speaker 1: it blows up, my pulse is done.
• 1:37:50
Speaker 3: But that's how you would want to go.
• 1:37:52
Speaker 2: Yes, we've had the conversation.
• 1:37:54
Speaker 1: I told you this, I would love for you guys
• 1:37:55
Speaker 1: to be in the foxhole with me. You go one unit,
• 1:37:57
Speaker 1: but then you tell me a story that says you're
• 1:37:58
Speaker 1: really five units. Talking about a six-year-old Josh Payton. I'm
• 1:38:01
Speaker 1: the kid looking out the window being, I hope there's.
• 1:38:03
Speaker 2: Snow on the ground. Oh, he's not in the foxhole.
• 1:38:06
Speaker 2: I'm in the foxhole. No, you're not. Yes, I am.
• 1:38:08
Speaker 3: I took the under.
• 1:38:08
Speaker 2: No, this guy, I do not want this.
• 1:38:10
Speaker 1: To turn into me versus you versus you. And we're
• 1:38:13
Speaker 1: all like separately on different teams. I'm saying I have
• 1:38:16
Speaker 1: a team right here and I'm in the foxhole of
• 1:38:19
Speaker 1: this team. I look around and I don't even see
• 1:38:23
Speaker 1: many Michigan fans in this foxhole with me.
• 1:38:25
Speaker 2: I don't see you guys with me. I see somebody
• 1:38:27
Speaker 2: on One Unit Oklahoma and I see somebody on the, under.
• 1:38:31
Speaker 2: I took the under. Yeah, that is a roundabout- 20 points, 2017,
• 1:38:37
Speaker 2: the under hits, you win, we all win.
• 1:38:41
Speaker 3: 17 to six, Oklahoma, of course, he and I win and-
• 1:38:45
Speaker 3: you're nowhere to be found. That's another trap door that
• 1:38:48
  Speaker 3: could open.
• 1:38:48
Speaker 2: You go back to the foxhole and be like, this
• 1:38:49
Speaker 2: is why you don't go in the foxhole with Taylor.
• 1:38:51
Speaker 2: So I get it. I don't blame you.
• 1:38:53
Speaker 1: I'm not mad at you. This is not your fight.
• 1:38:56
Speaker 1: This is my fight.
• 1:38:58
  Speaker 2: Okay.
• 1:38:59
Speaker 1: And on 3.30, if it doesn't go my way, guess what?
• 1:39:03
Speaker 1: I'll smile when I see you. I'll give you a hug.
• 1:39:05
Speaker 1: You'll look into my eyes and know the truth, but
• 1:39:08
Speaker 1: we out here for a kid's birthday party.
• 1:39:10
Speaker 2: Yeah. And the, yeah. But it's going to be back here,
• 1:39:14
  Speaker 2: not out here.
• 1:39:15
  Speaker 6: You know?
• 1:39:16
Speaker 2: I'm just going to let it eat.
• 1:39:19
Speaker 3: Are you guys going to storm the field if you win?
• 1:39:21
Speaker 2: I think here's what I think, dude. Jack the sign.
• 1:39:24
Speaker 2: Cue the sign. I think we storm the field the
• 1:39:27
Speaker 2: rest of the season.
• 1:39:28
Speaker 3: You do it after every game.
• 1:39:29
Speaker 2: Do they do that?
• 1:39:30
Speaker 3: Yeah. No matter what.
• 1:39:31
Speaker 2: Don't tread on fandom. Your sign's wrong. Don't tread on fandom.
• 1:39:34
  Speaker 3: That says Saturday.
• 1:39:36
  Speaker 2: Fandom.
• 1:39:37
Speaker 3: People who tread on fandom are treading on Saturday. You're
• 1:39:40
Speaker 3: endorsing the flag. You wore that last week.
• 1:39:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that. But I also agree with
• 1:39:46
Speaker 1: don't tread on fandom. And that's a better sign. Because
• 1:39:50
Speaker 1: unless you just go, I'm done with my team, you're
• 1:39:53
Speaker 1: allowed to celebrate however you want. Is it what I
• 1:39:56
Speaker 1: wanted to happen? No, but I wanted to beat Winston
• 1:39:58
Speaker 1: Michigan by 50. I would have loved for that to happen.
• 1:40:01
Speaker 1: And I've been like, all right, we're ready for week two.
• 1:40:04
Speaker 1: And maybe we're sitting in a foxhole together. Maybe we're
• 1:40:06
Speaker 1: also sitting in a foxhole together.
• 1:40:08
Speaker 2: He called you a six-year-old. He did.
• 1:40:11
  Speaker 3: All good.
• 1:40:13
Speaker 2: All good. Let's get out of here. Well, we got nothing. Hey,
• 1:40:20
Speaker 2: save me. Let's get out of here. Two. Two units
• 1:40:27
Speaker 2: on the Texas Longhorns. Dude, Arthur Smith, I love you.
• 1:40:31
Speaker 2: One of the first five episodes on Bustin' with the Boys.
• 1:40:33
Speaker 2: I love you dearly.
• 1:40:35
Speaker 3: Could you tell him to stop confusing with me and
• 1:40:36
Speaker 3: Delaney Walker? I get so tired of people doing that
• 1:40:38
Speaker 3: to me. It's an easy next up.
• 1:40:41
Speaker 2: Dog of the week. Let's get our dogs of the week.
• 1:40:44
Speaker 2: Mine's going to be easy here. I'm going Charlotte plus
• 1:40:47
Speaker 2: 47.5 against Ole Miss. I love both dogs against LSU
• 1:40:50
Speaker 2: and Ole Miss because neither Ole Miss or LSU is
• 1:40:52
Speaker 2: going to even care about who in the hell they're
• 1:40:54
Speaker 2: playing this weekend. They're all on to week three. They're
• 1:40:56
Speaker 2: all on to we'll get to that game next week,
• 1:40:58
Speaker 2: but they could give a shit who they play this weekend.
• 1:41:01
Speaker 2: They're running cards right now on the practice field as
• 1:41:04
Speaker 2: we speak. They're reviewing tape as we speak as you
• 1:41:06
Speaker 2: watch this on Wednesday evenings. They were reviewing the film
• 1:41:09
Speaker 2: for next week on their opponent, LSU or Ole Miss.
• 1:41:11
Speaker 2: So this is Charlotte plus 47.5. That's the reason why.
• 1:41:15
  Speaker 6: All right.
• 1:41:16
Speaker 3: I am going Old Dominion plus I believe I got
• 1:41:18
Speaker 3: 19.5 against Virginia Tech. I think people are a little
• 1:41:22
Speaker 3: bit too amped up about that week one win. And
• 1:41:26
Speaker 3: James Franklin boldly defended his players for dapping up the troops.
• 1:41:30
Speaker 3: Officials threw a flag on it. James Franklin said that's
• 1:41:33
Speaker 3: an un-American penalty. He wasn't wrong. But it has nothing
• 1:41:36
Speaker 3: to do with Old Dominion this week. So I like
• 1:41:38
Speaker 3: Virginia Tech to win, but not to cover. I got
• 1:41:40
Speaker 3: an ODU plus 19.5.
• 1:41:41
Speaker 2: You know what you'll like? My parlay. Go ahead, Taylor.
• 1:41:45
Speaker 2: Talk of the week.
• 1:41:46
Speaker 1: Yesterday in our team meeting, Jack Coleman sat there and
• 1:41:48
Speaker 1: gave us a whole breakdown on the man in the
• 1:41:50
Speaker 1: red bandana and how this guy during 9-11 went up
• 1:41:54
Speaker 1: and down 20 flights of stairs and saved 18 people.
• 1:41:57
Speaker 1: Boston College, every year. remembers the man in the red bandana.
• 1:42:02
Speaker 1: And they have red bandanas on. The whole student section
• 1:42:05
Speaker 1: wears it. The cheerleaders wear it. And they celebrate this
• 1:42:08
Speaker 1: unnamed man who was selfless, looked death in.
• 1:42:11
Speaker 2: The eye, and said, I'll save these people before I go.
• 1:42:15
Speaker 2: I think that's absolutely beautiful. They play Rutgers this week.
• 1:42:18
Speaker 2: And I've got Rutgers covering, plus three and a half.
• 1:42:21
Speaker 1: I like Rutgers. They switch the quarterback up. You're never
• 1:42:24
Speaker 1: as bad as you think you are, and you're never
• 1:42:26
Speaker 1: as good as you think you are. BC didn't play great.
• 1:42:29
Speaker 1: BC don't look good. I'm not saying red bandana game
• 1:42:32
Speaker 1: doesn't go to BC. I'm just saying Rutgers coverage and
• 1:42:35
  Speaker 1: it's a lot closer.
• 1:42:35
  Speaker 3: Oh, that's good.
• 1:42:36
Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:42:37
  Speaker 3: That's classic.
• 1:42:38
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 1:42:38
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:42:39
Speaker 1: Also, Rutgers is doing the 36, right? Because there was
• 1:42:42
Speaker 1: 36 men and women.
• 1:42:44
Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 37 for the firefighters. Okay.
• 1:42:50
Speaker 2: So it's a very patriotic game.
• 1:42:52
  Speaker 3: Fair enough.
• 1:42:53
Speaker 2: You wish both teams could win. Isn't the.
• 1:42:57
Speaker 2: Betting against Boston College Red Bandana and the.
• 1:42:59
Speaker 3: Game is being played on 9-11. Yeah, other than that though.
• 1:43:04
Speaker 1: And timeout, isn't his name? I'm betting against the spread.
• 1:43:09
Speaker 1: Totally different than 9-11, Man of Red Bandana. It just
• 1:43:14
Speaker 1: happens to be that night.
• 1:43:15
Speaker 2: And you also said unnamed man. Like, doesn't he have
• 1:43:17
Speaker 2: a name? Is it like Wells Crowther?
• 1:43:19
  Speaker 3: Yeah.
• 1:43:20
Speaker 1: But to the people in those towers, they did not
• 1:43:24
  Speaker 1: know his name.
• 1:43:26
Speaker 2: The people in those towers. This unnamed man. I think
• 1:43:31
Speaker 2: it's on the jerseys. Do it for Wells.
• 1:43:33
Speaker 1: Do it for Wells is on the back of the jerseys.
• 1:43:36
Speaker 1: You guys know what I'm saying, man. I think we're
• 1:43:39
  Speaker 1: getting saved.
• 1:43:41
Speaker 2: You want to check out this parlay?
• 1:43:43
Speaker 3: I got to hear this. I got a parlay.
• 1:43:44
Speaker 2: I got a unit on this parlay this week. Oh,
• 1:43:49
Speaker 2: come on, Jack. Hold the sign up. Hey, hold up, Cody.
• 1:43:53
Speaker 1: I said I like Rutgers this week, and you're like, yo,
• 1:43:55
Speaker 1: I love Rutgers this week. And then you go and
• 1:43:57
Speaker 1: just do the 9-11 thing to me just now?
• 1:43:59
Speaker 2: Oh, no. That's something I'll never forget, dude. I will
• 1:44:03
  Speaker 2: never forget that.
• 1:44:04
Speaker 3: I'm in your foxhole.
• 1:44:05
Speaker 2: You're not. This parlay, check it out. Mizzou money line.
• 1:44:14
Speaker 2: Alabama money line. BYU money line. Tennessee alt line minus
• 1:44:20
Speaker 2: six and a half. Virginia Tech, Alt-Line, minus nine and
• 1:44:27
  Speaker 2: a half.
• 1:44:28
Speaker 3: We can still both win. Go ahead.
• 1:44:30
Speaker 2: Iowa Alt-Line, minus six and a half.
• 1:44:32
Speaker 3: That's half a dozen so far.
• 1:44:35
Speaker 2: Plus 487. Okay. That is plus 487? Yeah, because there's
• 1:44:41
Speaker 2: some heavy favorites in there. You don't say. All right.
• 1:44:45
Speaker 2: We're going to see what that one unit does. All right.
• 1:44:49
Speaker 1: East Tennessee State, plus 35.5. Let me get Louisville, minus 36.5.
• 1:44:53
Speaker 1: Who are they playing? Doesn't matter, does it?
• 1:44:57
  Speaker 3: It literally doesn't.
• 1:44:58
  Speaker 2: It does not.
• 1:44:58
Speaker 3: It could never have mattered less.
• 1:44:59
Speaker 2: They lost to Ole Miss the way they did. North
• 1:45:01
Speaker 2: Dakota State Air Force, over 47.5. Three games only, plus 585.
• 1:45:04
Speaker 3: Okay. Check my numbers here.
• 1:45:13
Speaker 2: You out-odds me there. With half the games.
• 1:45:18
Speaker 3: I remember my teams. I think I got Georgia Southern
• 1:45:21
Speaker 3: plus 20 and a half. What are you doing right now?
• 1:45:23
Speaker 2: You making them look up your parlor?
• 1:45:24
Speaker 3: I'm just making sure I got the numbers right. I
• 1:45:27
Speaker 3: didn't even write anything down. Georgia Southern against Clemson plus
• 1:45:30
Speaker 3: 20 and a half. And I got Ohio State Texas
• 1:45:34
Speaker 3: under 49 and a half. Damn, I like that one.
• 1:45:38
  Speaker 3: One unit.
• 1:45:39
  Speaker 2: Just a two-piece.
• 1:45:40
  Speaker 3: Just a two-piecer.
• 1:45:41
Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, last week, did you go as
• 1:45:43
Speaker 2: a parlay? Not on the show, but in general. Auburn
• 1:45:48
Speaker 2: Moneyline and Baylor plus seven and a half?
• 1:45:51
  Speaker 6: No.
• 1:45:52
Speaker 3: I thought those would happen.
• 1:45:53
  Speaker 2: Those are correlated.
• 1:45:53
  Speaker 3: I don't think I could.
• 1:45:54
Speaker 2: Have done that. I saw you put out the tweet.
• 1:45:56
Speaker 2: I was like, I was playing some 3D chess if
• 1:45:58
Speaker 2: he put that on there. I don't think you can
• 1:46:00
  Speaker 2: bet that.
• 1:46:01
Speaker 1: I did bet UCLA and the over.
• 1:46:05
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you guys hear me? What'd you say?
• 1:46:08
Speaker 1: UCLA and the over. I bet that got that hit.
• 1:46:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a good hit.
• 1:46:12
Speaker 3: That was a really good one. It was a good
• 1:46:13
Speaker 3: game too. 21-0 run in the fourth quarter.
• 1:46:15
Speaker 2: Man. I had two bowls of cereal because, dude, I
• 1:46:18
Speaker 2: don't know how you guys felt. I was just exhausted
• 1:46:22
Speaker 2: from that entire day. But I'm sitting there. You finally
• 1:46:24
Speaker 2: take the socks off, kind of peel them off your feet.
• 1:46:27
Speaker 2: The family was out of town in Maine, and I'm
• 1:46:28
Speaker 2: just sitting there on my couch with a bowl of
• 1:46:30
Speaker 2: Honey Nut Cheerios. Let's go. Just being excited. Dude, it
• 1:46:35
Speaker 2: was so hot. It was. In Louisiana. It was hot.
• 1:46:38
Speaker 3: It was a hot one.
• 1:46:39
Speaker 2: So much fun though. Had a great time. Actually, it
• 1:46:41
Speaker 2: wasn't that fun, to be honest, because that game.
• 1:46:44
Speaker 1: Honestly, it wasn't that fun because Jesse and his commentating
• 1:46:47
Speaker 1: in the bus had me wanting to send myself through
• 1:46:50
Speaker 1: a wall. When we're on the bus driving to the airport,
• 1:46:53
Speaker 1: I already told him this. He knows all these answers.
• 1:46:54
Speaker 1: He thinks Oklahoma's going to beat Michigan's ass this weekend.
• 1:46:57
Speaker 2: Is that what you think, Jesse?
• 1:47:00
Speaker 3: Oh, God damn you.
• 1:47:03
Speaker 2: Good. You know what that is? Disrespect. That's sheep mentality.
• 1:47:07
Speaker 2: That's disrespect. He's just joining everybody else. Yeah. We'll see
• 1:47:10
Speaker 2: you on Saturday, buddy. Come to the birthday party? No,
• 1:47:12
Speaker 2: because you'll be scared. You'll be scared in front of
• 1:47:14
Speaker 2: my kid. What's that? Did it? Yeah, because that slapping
• 1:47:19
Speaker 2: you just did, man. I was about to give it
• 1:47:21
Speaker 2: to you. The line on the Ohio State-Texas, I know
• 1:47:24
  Speaker 2: it's going to move 48.5 and 49.5, but that's the
• 1:47:26
Speaker 2: current line right on points, 49.5? 49.5. I'm surprised you
• 1:47:30
Speaker 2: didn't go under then for your pick, your two-unit pick.
• 1:47:35
Speaker 3: Saved it for the parlay. Got to roll with Texas. Yeah,
• 1:47:37
Speaker 3: saved it for the parlay. Got you, got you, got you.
• 1:47:39
Speaker 2: Gentlemen, hey. Great show.
• 1:47:41
Speaker 3: Great show. Good luck to us all.
