Latest / Moming and Me: The Podcast / You Can’t Claim to Care When Consideration Doesn’t Show Up
Transcript
- Najah: Consideration is really not that hard. It's simply stopping long enough to think about how what you do might affect somebody besides you. That is respect. And I'm not talking about expectations. Some people are overbearing. and expect everybody to revolve around their wants and needs. And that's not what I'm talking about. I don't expect anybody to center their life around me. The only thing I expect from people is common courtesy and a basic level of human decency. But you cannot keep telling me you care about me while making decisions like I never crossed your mind. If you don't consider me, you don't care. Simple. And I'm not asking anybody to read my mind. I will absolutely communicate when something affects me. But once I tell you. I'm not telling you twice. Because doing it again isn't a misunderstanding. It's disregard. And baby, my life is not a game. And my time is too expensive to waste Teaching grown people how to consider somebody beside themselves. Show me once that what I communicated affects me, doesn't matter to you. Don't worry about it. I'll move accordingly.
