Latest / Michelle Explains Anime, Poorly / 86 [Eighty-Six] Ep.17- I Won't Forget
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's your person, Michelle. I suppose I'm back. I
- 0:05Speaker 1: got a new air conditioner, but it's still so loud
- 0:07Speaker 1: that I can't really run it. Well, I am doing
- 0:10Speaker 1: the podcast, so yay, everything's fine. So yeah, let's just
- 0:16Speaker 1: get right into eighty six because everything sucks. So Episode
- 0:21Speaker 1: seventeen of eighty six is called I Won't Forget, which
- 0:25Speaker 1: could be positive or negative, honestly, depending on what's going
- 0:29Speaker 1: on that you might forget about and why you might
- 0:33Speaker 1: forget about it, I guess. So if you remember at
- 0:36Speaker 1: the end of the last episode, things were really bad.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I think that the base was about to get exploded.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Shinn was standing by the window and then all of
- 0:44Speaker 1: a sudden he got really freaked out. He was starting
- 0:45Speaker 1: to run towards Frederica, and light was like blasting in
- 0:49Speaker 1: the window, and then that was it. Right, So we
- 0:52Speaker 1: don't start there at all, thanks so much. We start
- 0:56Speaker 1: on a close up of a street light, and everything's
- 0:59Speaker 1: kind of obscure. We could see that, like there's fire
- 1:03Speaker 1: light at the bottom of the screen, so something is
- 1:05Speaker 1: on fire below the street light, and embers are like
- 1:09Speaker 1: flying up into the air, and then the whole scene vibrates. Oh,
- 1:14Speaker 1: also during this area, there's just music, there's no sound effects,
- 1:18Speaker 1: so the scene starts to vibrate and we see that
- 1:22Speaker 1: it is a legion. Well, multiple legion are on that
- 1:27Speaker 1: street that Lena like always stands at the crosswalk of
- 1:29Speaker 1: looking all sad when everyone else is like super happy, great.
- 1:33Speaker 1: And there's this big Legion thing and it like rests
- 1:35Speaker 1: its foot on one of the buses. That's like real
- 1:38Speaker 1: fucked up. I don't think there's people inside it or
- 1:40Speaker 1: anything anymore. And everything is on fire everything pretty much,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and so like the Legion are like firing, and we
- 1:47Speaker 1: get like a shot of them like through the window
- 1:50Speaker 1: of like a shop that they're passing, and there's lots
- 1:52Speaker 1: of Alba like in the streets running around. It's like
- 1:55Speaker 1: the buildings are getting hit and we see on like
- 1:58Speaker 1: the side of a building this graffitied sign says eighty
- 2:00Speaker 1: six stay away, which seems stupid, really stupid. And then
- 2:05Speaker 1: we see a bunch of Legion going over like this
- 2:07Speaker 1: bridge over maybe like a canal or something. We cut
- 2:10Speaker 1: to Lena's arm like extended forward, and at this the
- 2:13Speaker 1: Legions start to get shot at and like exploded, and
- 2:17Speaker 1: then we see Lena like in mid yell, but of
- 2:19Speaker 1: course we don't hear anything because we're just doing music.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And juggernauts are like firing on the Legion and they're
- 2:25Speaker 1: like getting hit, and then we see like a line
- 2:27Speaker 1: of what I guess are mortars like across this canal,
- 2:31Speaker 1: like shooting at the Legion. Lena is in this like
- 2:35Speaker 1: outside like ops area because maybe there's no more inside
- 2:38Speaker 1: areas that they can be in, and there's a bunch
- 2:40Speaker 1: of like big screens and like computers and stuff, and
- 2:42Speaker 1: Annett is there like working on a computer, and Lena
- 2:46Speaker 1: is talking to some dude, and then there's like an
- 2:48Speaker 1: explosion nearby and Lena winces and turns in shock, and
- 2:53Speaker 1: the Legion are like right fucking there. We cut back
- 2:56Speaker 1: to Lena, Annette and the guy just looking on. Lena
- 3:00Speaker 1: raises her aunt to her chest and we see a
- 3:02Speaker 1: shot of her glowing power raid through her hair. She
- 3:04Speaker 1: extends her arm and says something that we can't hear,
- 3:07Speaker 1: but probably fire, and we see a shot of the
- 3:10Speaker 1: missiles firing at the Legion as they walk down the
- 3:12Speaker 1: streets and the city burns. Let me go the opening theme. Yay.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Back from the opening, we finally find out what happened.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I guess. We have this really close shot of kind
- 3:24Speaker 1: of like Frederica with shins like hand over her head,
- 3:28Speaker 1: kind of like protecting it and also blocking her view,
- 3:32Speaker 1: and it is August twenty seventh, twenty one forty nine.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Sen's like, are you okay? THEO says, I guess yeay,
- 3:40Speaker 1: they're okay. Carna says, where are we? Probably the same
- 3:44Speaker 1: place she were when this started. I'm not sure what
- 3:47Speaker 1: that means. Frederica opens her eyes because they've been closed
- 3:50Speaker 1: up until now, and we still don't see anybody. We're
- 3:53Speaker 1: still in that shot of Frederica right and says their
- 3:56Speaker 1: targets the forward base. Sin's like yeah, and it's like shit.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Frederica starts to pull away and she's like, what's going on?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Shin like actually fully tries to cover her eyes now,
- 4:07Speaker 1: and he's like, don't look. We finally like pan over
- 4:11Speaker 1: and we see Shin, who is bleeding from his head.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Of course he is, so there's like a gap in
- 4:16Speaker 1: his hands, you know, because he's got fingers and stuff,
- 4:18Speaker 1: and it doesn't cover her eyes all the way, so
- 4:20Speaker 1: she can actually see him slightly from that area, and
- 4:24Speaker 1: we hear a voice say, someone, come help, and another
- 4:27Speaker 1: one say over here too. Frederica gasps. Another guy says
- 4:31Speaker 1: my arm. Frederica like clenches her fists, and someone like
- 4:35Speaker 1: screams in the background, and we see that there's just
- 4:39Speaker 1: blood and debris like all over the ground. And then
- 4:41Speaker 1: we are just like looking through this like really narrow
- 4:43Speaker 1: opening at blue sky and there's like cheering and lots
- 4:49Speaker 1: of like busted up mechs like littering this kind of
- 4:52Speaker 1: like wasteland area, and they're just like blood everywhere too.
- 4:57Speaker 1: And then I totally understood what was happening is that
- 4:59Speaker 1: Frederica is kind of remembering her past. I guess someone
- 5:03Speaker 1: was shielding her eyes back then too, and her eyes
- 5:06Speaker 1: widened and she gasps. We get a better shot of
- 5:09Speaker 1: the present now, and we can see that the windows
- 5:11Speaker 1: have been flown out, and Shin and Frederica are kind
- 5:14Speaker 1: of like shielded behind it like sideways table, and Sin says,
- 5:19Speaker 1: an you please, Andrew walks over. Of course, she reaches
- 5:23Speaker 1: out for Frederica and then embraces her, and Frederica's like
- 5:27Speaker 1: Kitty did this. Andrew says, let's go, and Frederica's like, shiney,
- 5:33Speaker 1: you're not gonna do this right. You're not gonna end
- 5:35Speaker 1: up like Kitty, right, Fuck leave him alone. Shin. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 1: he's just kind of glancing in her direction, and then
- 5:43Speaker 1: he turns his head away and he's like, yeah. Fuck.
- 5:49Speaker 1: We get to a TV with like a breaking news
- 5:53Speaker 1: feed on it, and I can't see what it says
- 5:55Speaker 1: on the screen because the captions are over it, but
- 5:58Speaker 1: it's showing like this big cret with like floodlights all
- 6:01Speaker 1: around it and a voice I assumed the newscaster says.
- 6:05Speaker 1: The first barrage hit the eighth's mechanized forward operating pace
- 6:09Speaker 1: FOB fourteen seventy Two minutes later, FOB thirteen was struck.
- 6:15Speaker 1: We see Marcel and some other guys like in the
- 6:17Speaker 1: hospital looking at this in horror. We cut to someone
- 6:21Speaker 1: who we really can't see, sitting at a desk somewhere
- 6:24Speaker 1: writing something with like a pen or a pencil, and
- 6:27Speaker 1: the newscaster continues. Fifteen hours later, the fifth infantrys FOB
- 6:32Speaker 1: twenty eight and FOB thirty were struck. There's a picture
- 6:36Speaker 1: of Eugene in the room. Oh yeah, that's not good,
- 6:40Speaker 1: the newscaster continues. The artillery strikes wiped out all fob's shit.
- 6:45Speaker 1: We see Ernst's office now, and like there's some folks
- 6:48Speaker 1: there and it is August twenty eighth, twenty one forty nine,
- 6:52Speaker 1: And I thought that this was the newscaster, but I
- 6:54Speaker 1: think it's just this blonde dude that's talking to Ernst.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And he says, the four regiments stayed at their bases.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Approximately twenty thousand people were wiped out. Oh, that seems
- 7:06Speaker 1: like a lot of people. Ernst is looking at this
- 7:09Speaker 1: screen with like the casualties from the four bases on it,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and it actually totals twenty thousand and ninety four people.
- 7:16Speaker 1: The blonde guy continues. The ultralong range artillery behind this
- 7:20Speaker 1: is believed to be a new type of legion. Ernest
- 7:23Speaker 1: looks at a screen with a mech called Morpho on it,
- 7:26Speaker 1: like a diagram of it, and the blonde guy says
- 7:29Speaker 1: that we will refer to as the Morpho. It's estimated
- 7:32Speaker 1: specs r as follows eighty millimeters caliber, effective range of
- 7:36Speaker 1: four hundred kilometers, which is two hundred and forty eight
- 7:40Speaker 1: point five four to eight miles. What the fuck. Initial
- 7:44Speaker 1: velocity of eight thousand meters per second also on the
- 7:48Speaker 1: screen is like the accuracy of these things, which didn't
- 7:51Speaker 1: make any sense to me. Like it's got an initial velocity,
- 7:54Speaker 1: effective range in caliber accuracy, like what maybe I just
- 7:59Speaker 1: don't understands. Caliber accuracy is ninety three point nine effective
- 8:03Speaker 1: range is ninety six point three percent accurate, and initial
- 8:07Speaker 1: velocity is ninety seven point two percent accurate. I don't
- 8:10Speaker 1: know what's going on there. Whatever flung guid continues, this
- 8:13Speaker 1: would be impossible for a normal canon. Yeah, we believe
- 8:16Speaker 1: it's to be a rail gun, So I should tell
- 8:19Speaker 1: you what a rail gun is, because I didn't know
- 8:21Speaker 1: what it is. I just thought it was a gun
- 8:22Speaker 1: that was on rails. I've never watched a certain scientific railgun.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Is that what it's called? Certain magical index? A certain
- 8:30Speaker 1: scientific railgun. I think I'm right about that. So I
- 8:33Speaker 1: don't really know what a rail gun is, so I
- 8:35Speaker 1: looked it up. It is a linear motor device that
- 8:38Speaker 1: uses electromagnetic force to launch high velocity projectiles. It doesn't
- 8:44Speaker 1: use explosives. It just relies on the projectiles high kinetic
- 8:49Speaker 1: energy to do damage. But still don't really understand. But
- 8:52Speaker 1: it doesn't like have explosives. It uses electromagnetic force, So
- 8:57Speaker 1: that's pretty interesting. And scary maybe, especially if it can
- 9:02Speaker 1: shoot and hit a target from over two hundred and
- 9:05Speaker 1: forty eight miles away. Anyway, there's a bunch of guys
- 9:08Speaker 1: sitting like behind him at this table and they're looking
- 9:11Speaker 1: over the specs arnstance like a rail gun. He looks
- 9:15Speaker 1: down at a tablet. This was in their report when
- 9:18Speaker 1: we took him in. He is looking at Spearhead stats,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I guess. And we can see Shin, Ryden and theo's stats,
- 9:25Speaker 1: and there's really not that much that we don't know
- 9:27Speaker 1: about them. It doesn't say they're birthdays or anything, but
- 9:30Speaker 1: we do know that, at least according to this, they're
- 9:32Speaker 1: all sixteen, which is insane. And Shin's ethnicity is Onyx
- 9:38Speaker 1: slash Pyrope. His height is one hundred and seventy five centimeters,
- 9:43Speaker 1: so that's about five foot seven, and his weight is
- 9:46Speaker 1: seventy four kilograms, which I just looked up and that
- 9:48Speaker 1: is one one hundred and sixty three pounds. Ryden's ethnicity
- 9:52Speaker 1: is icon and he is one hundred and eighty five
- 9:57Speaker 1: centimeters tall, which is six feet tall, and he weighs
- 10:01Speaker 1: eighty five kilograms, which is one hundred and eighty seven
- 10:04Speaker 1: pounds and theo is a jade and he is one
- 10:09Speaker 1: hundred and sixty five centimeters tall and that's about five
- 10:13Speaker 1: foot four and he weighs sixty three kilograms, which is
- 10:17Speaker 1: about one thirty eight And now you know for some reason.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Also on the screen, it says attacked by Legion long
- 10:24Speaker 1: range weapon, most likely a railgun. I wish you guys
- 10:27Speaker 1: paid attention to these things, the blonde guy continues, Yes,
- 10:31Speaker 1: it's incredibly powerful. We believe that the fifteen hours between
- 10:34Speaker 1: the second and third strikes were used to replace the barrel.
- 10:38Speaker 1: During this time, the Western Front forces loaded up every
- 10:41Speaker 1: cruise missile they had and launched the saturation strike immediately
- 10:44Speaker 1: after the fourth volley. It's showing a diagram of what
- 10:47Speaker 1: happened on the screen. Now, he continues, the strike seems
- 10:51Speaker 1: to have dealt some damage, but it did not destroy
- 10:53Speaker 1: the railgun. We hear someone clearing their throat, and Ernst
- 10:57Speaker 1: looks over and there's this dude on a screen, and
- 11:01Speaker 1: he has red hair, and he's wearing like a military uniform,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and the screen says that it is Crown Prince Zafar.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I didn't rock maybe I'm not sure. From the United
- 11:11Speaker 1: Kingdom of Roo Gracia. Anyway, he says, with regard to
- 11:15Speaker 1: the damage, our autonomous units infiltrated the Legion held territory
- 11:20Speaker 1: and managed to observe the morpho. You didn't land a
- 11:23Speaker 1: direct hit, but you did severely damage it. Yeah. We
- 11:27Speaker 1: panned to another screen with like an older lady who's
- 11:30Speaker 1: also in a military uniform, and she either has red
- 11:32Speaker 1: hair or blue hair. I can't really tell. It's like blue,
- 11:36Speaker 1: but then there's like some red underneath. And I wasn't
- 11:38Speaker 1: sure if she was wearing some sort of like headscarf
- 11:40Speaker 1: or what's going on here. It's really weird looking anyway,
- 11:43Speaker 1: doesn't really matter. This is Lieutenant General bell Agis of
- 11:48Speaker 1: the Alliance of Wald and she nods. Says, if you
- 11:52Speaker 1: could get that close, couldn't you just have eliminated the morpho?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Zafar kind of laughs, and he says, unfortunately they can't
- 11:59Speaker 1: carry that kind of payload and many had to be
- 12:02Speaker 1: destroyed just to get one. In general, Aegis is like,
- 12:05Speaker 1: I see, so you spent quite a lot on this.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Safar says, we're all about to embark on a joint operation.
- 12:12Speaker 1: There's no sense in hiding anything. Mutual trust is the
- 12:15Speaker 1: most powerful way to bind two humans or two nations
- 12:19Speaker 1: earnest size. The issue at hand is how to deal
- 12:23Speaker 1: with the Morpho and these supposedly sentient Legion General Agis
- 12:27Speaker 1: is like sentient Legion commanders. We've seen them here. Safar
- 12:31Speaker 1: says the Legion's weakness was that they rely on their
- 12:34Speaker 1: numbers and strength, but are tactically simple. General Agents says
- 12:38Speaker 1: that large offensive might have been an attempt to learn
- 12:40Speaker 1: more troops to the front lines. Aegis ends a far
- 12:44Speaker 1: together say it makes my head hurt, and then they
- 12:47Speaker 1: kind of look up at each other, like what the fuck, dude,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the blonde guy is like. Continuing from its movement and
- 12:54Speaker 1: last known firing position, the morpho is likely to be
- 12:57Speaker 1: a train based weapon that uses the old high speed
- 13:00Speaker 1: railway network, so it's also literally a rail gun. I'm
- 13:04Speaker 1: so excited. Anyway. We see a map of like all
- 13:07Speaker 1: the rail lines, like the rail network, and he says,
- 13:11Speaker 1: given the available roots and its movement radius, little red
- 13:15Speaker 1: explosions like go all over the map, every one of
- 13:18Speaker 1: our nation's capitals could be within firing range. Fuck. We
- 13:21Speaker 1: get these really interesting shots where like all of the
- 13:23Speaker 1: leaders are looking at the map and like their capitals
- 13:26Speaker 1: are like right over their eyes. It's cool, and I
- 13:28Speaker 1: don't think I described it very well. So we learned
- 13:31Speaker 1: that the capital of Wald is Capella arc Stelli is
- 13:36Speaker 1: the capital of Roegracia, and sanct Jutter, which we already knew,
- 13:40Speaker 1: is the capital of giod The blonde guy continues, Its
- 13:43Speaker 1: current location is the train terminal in Krutzbeck City. We
- 13:46Speaker 1: estimate it'll take a minimum of eight weeks for the
- 13:49Speaker 1: repairs and for it to become combat capable again. If
- 13:52Speaker 1: we can't find some countermeasure by then, we'll be defeated.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Art says, what countermeasures do we know that'll work? This
- 14:00Speaker 1: dark haired guy says, none that we know of. We're
- 14:03Speaker 1: now in a different room, like a dark room, around
- 14:05Speaker 1: a big table, and they're like screens in the middle
- 14:08Speaker 1: of it and like on a wall. And the dark
- 14:11Speaker 1: haired guy who is standing says, our anti airguns aren't
- 14:14Speaker 1: fast enough to shoot it down, and we don't have
- 14:16Speaker 1: enough to try. We're bringing in more cruise missiles from
- 14:18Speaker 1: the other war zones, but the legion jamming means we
- 14:21Speaker 1: can't guide them. We see some like destruction on a
- 14:24Speaker 1: screen and it says provided by the United Kingdom. Of
- 14:28Speaker 1: rural gracia. There's like something shooting like from the sky,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I guess, and the dark haired guy continues, and their
- 14:35Speaker 1: slow speed makes them easy targets for the Legion AA.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I think that's probably anti aircraft. Maybe we see the
- 14:44Speaker 1: thing in the sky like shooting back down now and
- 14:47Speaker 1: he continues. The Morpho itself seems to have powerful AA weaponry.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Another air strike likely would not work any better without
- 14:55Speaker 1: air superiority. An air to surface attack will be extreme difficult.
- 15:00Speaker 1: And yet it lies outside our artillery range. There's a
- 15:03Speaker 1: map showing this. Some guy says, then we'll have to
- 15:07Speaker 1: eliminate it using ground troops. Everyone looks super fucking worried,
- 15:11Speaker 1: and this guy with the mustache says, hmm, and all
- 15:15Speaker 1: out offensive by every soldier in the western theater into
- 15:18Speaker 1: Legion held territory. He's holding his thumb up to Morpho
- 15:22Speaker 1: on the map. A strike one hundred kilometers deep into
- 15:24Speaker 1: enemy territory, swarming with Legion. Some other guy says, even
- 15:28Speaker 1: if we bring in all our immediately available reserves, we
- 15:31Speaker 1: lost twenty six percent of our forces on that front
- 15:34Speaker 1: in the last attack. Pulling troops from other band lines
- 15:36Speaker 1: is in an option, so we'll have to do it
- 15:39Speaker 1: with what we have. Why just pull them from other places?
- 15:42Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know anything about war. Another guy says,
- 15:45Speaker 1: we've brought down the numbers of legion in the area
- 15:47Speaker 1: by roughly the same amount, but they outnumber us by
- 15:50Speaker 1: so much. To begin with. We get a quick cut
- 15:53Speaker 1: of feet walking, and then that guy continues their manufacturing
- 15:57Speaker 1: plants are unharmed. In two months, they'll be more of them.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Quick shot to the feet walking again. The mustache guy
- 16:04Speaker 1: says it's a handy thing to have the power to
- 16:07Speaker 1: protrict destruction, but nothing else. Shot of Shin from behind
- 16:11Speaker 1: his bandana is blowing in the breeze. Back to the
- 16:13Speaker 1: mustache guy. Whatever unit we choose to send to eliminate
- 16:17Speaker 1: it will die. Yay. Some guy says, yes, that's why
- 16:22Speaker 1: we should choose who are most likely to succeed and
- 16:25Speaker 1: least likely to be missed. No, we see Shin's feet
- 16:30Speaker 1: walking and he stops. That black haired guy who was
- 16:33Speaker 1: talking a lot is standing outside of like a hangar,
- 16:36Speaker 1: and it is August twenty ninth, twenty nine. Shin is
- 16:40Speaker 1: standing over by a reagon leaf because there's a bunch
- 16:42Speaker 1: of ragon leaves and the rest of Spearhead is kind
- 16:45Speaker 1: of approaching him, and the black haired guy says, so
- 16:48Speaker 1: you're the eighty six. He walks towards them. Of course,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I've seen your ages, but you really are still kids.
- 16:54Speaker 1: They're just silence, and then he continues, I'm sorry, I've
- 16:58Speaker 1: read the reports. You have incredibly strong combat abilities and
- 17:01Speaker 1: aren't even afraid of death. Come on, yeah, Spearhead does
- 17:05Speaker 1: not look pleased. He continues, You're not in the Republic anymore.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Don't do anything reckless. The Federacy isn't like the Republic.
- 17:12Speaker 1: No one here is replaceable. He starts to walk past them,
- 17:15Speaker 1: for better or worse. Fuck yeah, I don't know about that.
- 17:19Speaker 1: I think we were just discussing who we were gonna
- 17:22Speaker 1: let die. Actually, I'm not really sure that the Federacy
- 17:26Speaker 1: is any better than the Republic. I mean, they are,
- 17:28Speaker 1: they definitely are, because the Republic is basically just not sees.
- 17:33Speaker 1: But fucking you guys aren't great guys either. THEO and
- 17:37Speaker 1: Rydan kind of like sighed eye him as he leaves,
- 17:40Speaker 1: and then we see the dining room. We have a
- 17:41Speaker 1: shot of like their table and like the lower part
- 17:45Speaker 1: of their torsos, but like not their faces, and Frederica says, Shine,
- 17:50Speaker 1: what's wrong. Shin's eyes are closed and he says nothing.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Theo's like, you're still tired. That last fight was probably
- 17:56Speaker 1: pretty noisy for you. Didn't you get overwhelmed near the end? Mum,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna wait to talk about all of
- 18:04Speaker 1: this until the end because I have like a lot
- 18:06Speaker 1: of things to say about the fact that Shinn is alone,
- 18:11Speaker 1: So let's wait on that anyway, and says, you didn't
- 18:15Speaker 1: even notice the legion's retreat. Frederica is like, I knew it.
- 18:19Speaker 1: That's not how you usually fight. I synchronize with you,
- 18:22Speaker 1: and you didn't even respond at all. Shin's like synchronized.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Frederica's like, you didn't even notice. She kind of looks
- 18:29Speaker 1: at the rest of them and says, you all should
- 18:31Speaker 1: get some rest, especially Shine. You know at the bottom
- 18:34Speaker 1: of your hearts that you're all exhausted. Theo's like, at
- 18:37Speaker 1: a time like this, that'd be rough. Frederica says, maintaining
- 18:42Speaker 1: a soldier's mental health is an important part of the military. Yeah,
- 18:46Speaker 1: I don't know that I'm seeing that, especially since you're
- 18:49Speaker 1: eighty six, you should be given some special consideration. Karina
- 18:52Speaker 1: was about to take a bite of her egg, and
- 18:54Speaker 1: she bristles like at the mention of eighty six, and
- 18:56Speaker 1: she says, I don't want that. I don't want to
- 18:59Speaker 1: be treated different out of pity. She says it loud
- 19:02Speaker 1: enough that everyone in the room hears her, and it's quiet,
- 19:06Speaker 1: and they're all kind of like looking at her like pissed,
- 19:09Speaker 1: like super angry that they exist sort of, and some
- 19:13Speaker 1: dude says eighty six. Frederica kind of gasps, and Brydon
- 19:18Speaker 1: says Krana Crana's like, I'd much prefer to be looked
- 19:22Speaker 1: at that way. I'm used to it, right in like
- 19:25Speaker 1: kind of scoff laps, and THEO says, well, we got
- 19:28Speaker 1: lucky this time, but the whole basic kept blown up
- 19:30Speaker 1: at any moment. We get a shot of like the
- 19:33Speaker 1: base I think from above, with just an area that's
- 19:35Speaker 1: like really fucking damaged, and then we cut to like
- 19:38Speaker 1: a shot of like empty kind of like those food
- 19:41Speaker 1: trays where you dispense the food from in a cafeteria,
- 19:44Speaker 1: and THEO continues, Everyone's on edge, Andrew's like they said
- 19:48Speaker 1: it it'd take two months to repair morphone. We shouldn't
- 19:51Speaker 1: expect any attacks until then THEO was like, that estimates
- 19:55Speaker 1: based off five seconds of footage from some shady foreign
- 19:58Speaker 1: country and some weird psychic power. I bet they feel
- 20:01Speaker 1: that they can't trust it, Corarina says, but Chin knows
- 20:04Speaker 1: the truth. Theo's like, but they didn't believe it until
- 20:07Speaker 1: they heard that voice. Karina looks kind of disgusted, and
- 20:10Speaker 1: she's like, well right, and says, but still there's been
- 20:14Speaker 1: no major trouble or confusion. The Veteracy trains his soldiers well,
- 20:18Speaker 1: too much exposition, guys, and the soldiers still look super
- 20:23Speaker 1: pissed by the way. THEO says, the republic soldiers would
- 20:26Speaker 1: have turned tail and run. I wonder if the Major's
- 20:28Speaker 1: still alive. They all look over at him, like what
- 20:31Speaker 1: the fuck THEO. And Andrew's like THEO, and THEO says, oh,
- 20:37Speaker 1: Karina's like she wouldn't run, Andrew's like Karna, And they
- 20:42Speaker 1: all look over at Shin, who is like not paying attention,
- 20:47Speaker 1: and after a second he's like what, THEO says, don't
- 20:51Speaker 1: tell me, he doesn't realize it. He does, and JW's like,
- 20:56Speaker 1: is there anything we can do about morpho right, and says,
- 20:59Speaker 1: we got two months to come up with a plan.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Even if we do, though it probably won't be a
- 21:03Speaker 1: good one. THEO says, it'll probably be us again. Raydon's like, probably.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Frederica says, are you okay with that? Shin is drinking
- 21:12Speaker 1: his coffee during this, and we see that he hasn't
- 21:15Speaker 1: even touched his food at all. I'm getting worried about him.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Krana says, I just told you, and then we go
- 21:20Speaker 1: to the title card, episode seventeen, I Won't Forget. We
- 21:25Speaker 1: cut to a low shot of a bench that's in
- 21:27Speaker 1: a park where like behind the bench, and all we
- 21:29Speaker 1: can see is the legs of two people who are
- 21:31Speaker 1: sitting on it, and one of them has real small
- 21:34Speaker 1: legs like a kid, and the other one has big
- 21:36Speaker 1: legs like an adult. And the big leged person has
- 21:39Speaker 1: a cast on their right leg. And it's August twenty eighth,
- 21:41Speaker 1: twenty one to forty nine, so back to yesterday. The
- 21:44Speaker 1: guy on the bench says, you want me to give
- 21:46Speaker 1: it to him again? And we hear a little girl
- 21:48Speaker 1: say there's no answer. The guy's like, can I take
- 21:53Speaker 1: a look. It's Nina, by the way on the bench.
- 21:55Speaker 1: We see her now, but we can't see the adult person.
- 21:59Speaker 1: We can't see his face least. She nods, but she
- 22:02Speaker 1: looks super concerned. Maybe she's afraid it's not a good
- 22:04Speaker 1: enough thing or whatever. The guy opens the letter and
- 22:09Speaker 1: he gasps and he clenches his teeth, but then smiles
- 22:13Speaker 1: and very quietly says, it's easier to blame it on
- 22:16Speaker 1: somebody else. He puts the note in a blue envelope
- 22:21Speaker 1: and we see him stand from behind the bench, so
- 22:23Speaker 1: we still don't know who is. He gets his crutch
- 22:26Speaker 1: and says, be careful on your way home. Nina looks
- 22:30Speaker 1: maybe a little bit pissed off, I think, And then
- 22:32Speaker 1: we see that it is Marcel and he holds up
- 22:34Speaker 1: the letter and he like has that whale sticker. Oh fuck.
- 22:38Speaker 1: So Nina sent Shinn the letter and Marcel delivered it.
- 22:43Speaker 1: He says, I'll make sure he gets it. Fuck. We
- 22:47Speaker 1: cut to a note being passed through a crack and
- 22:48Speaker 1: Chin's door. He looks over at this and sees someone
- 22:52Speaker 1: kind of walk away through the frosted glass, and the
- 22:54Speaker 1: note falls to the ground and Shin walks over. It's
- 22:57Speaker 1: September one, twenty one, forty nine. He stares at it,
- 23:01Speaker 1: and we had a flashback to the note on the
- 23:03Speaker 1: seat of his Reagan leaf. We see him in the
- 23:06Speaker 1: Reagan leaf open it and then stare at it as
- 23:09Speaker 1: his eyes widen, and it says, why did you kill
- 23:13Speaker 1: my brother? Give him back? Nina runs. He smiles as
- 23:18Speaker 1: the cockpit closes, and we hear Nina say, I guess
- 23:23Speaker 1: in his head, why did you abandon him? Shin's eyes
- 23:27Speaker 1: are closed. Nina continues, why didn't you save my brother?
- 23:32Speaker 1: He opens his eyes and smiles in a way that
- 23:35Speaker 1: is not the way you want a human being to smile.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And he kind of sees her in front of him,
- 23:41Speaker 1: like maybe she's on the screen in the Reagan leaf,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and she says, you killed him right. Shin is still
- 23:49Speaker 1: smiling the worst smile ever, and he says yeah. We
- 23:54Speaker 1: cut to his Reagan leaf as it bursts through a
- 23:56Speaker 1: bunch of legion and Nina says, I was waiting for
- 23:59Speaker 1: him to come back. Shin smiles. We cut back to
- 24:02Speaker 1: the fighting again. Nina says, you knew I was waiting.
- 24:07Speaker 1: We cut to the dead expression in his eyes as
- 24:10Speaker 1: the glass cuts his cheek. Nina says, give me back
- 24:13Speaker 1: my brother. More fighting back in his reaganly. Marcel is
- 24:18Speaker 1: like hovering over him like kind of on the screen,
- 24:21Speaker 1: and he says, why should you be the one to survive?
- 24:24Speaker 1: Why is it always you? We're going back and forth
- 24:27Speaker 1: between like fighting and Shin as like blood drips down
- 24:30Speaker 1: his cheek and we hear a voice say, you have
- 24:32Speaker 1: no reason to live. I don't know who this is.
- 24:34Speaker 1: By the way. The screen shifts to like Federacy soldiers
- 24:38Speaker 1: like side eyeing him, and the voice continues, you have
- 24:42Speaker 1: no one waiting for your return. The blood is dripping
- 24:45Speaker 1: onto Shin's bandana. He says, that's right. We hear Marcel say,
- 24:50Speaker 1: if you'd have died instead of him, there's a legion
- 24:53Speaker 1: in front of him now and it's like lifting up
- 24:54Speaker 1: his arm, or maybe it's also about to shoot. I
- 24:56Speaker 1: got really confused. And at that moment, the sun breaks
- 24:59Speaker 1: through the clouds and there's this weird static and we
- 25:02Speaker 1: cut to Shin's ear with the scar on it, and
- 25:05Speaker 1: we hear Lena say I won't forgets yeay title drop.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Shin gasps. We see sparks from those fireworks back in
- 25:14Speaker 1: the last chre just falling, and we hear Shin say
- 25:18Speaker 1: major back to now. Shin is about to open the
- 25:22Speaker 1: new envelope but there's a knock on the door, so
- 25:24Speaker 1: he stops, and we hear a voice say, Lieutenant knows it.
- 25:27Speaker 1: General Richard wants to speak with you. Shin tosses the
- 25:30Speaker 1: letter on to the table. Okay, he looks to the
- 25:33Speaker 1: side and closes his eyes. We have like a close
- 25:36Speaker 1: up of the side of his face. Okay before we
- 25:37Speaker 1: go onto the next scene. That's a weird place to stop,
- 25:40Speaker 1: but I need to because we need to talk about this.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Did Shin really hear Lena's voice just then? I think
- 25:45Speaker 1: that he did. I mean, I know that he doesn't
- 25:48Speaker 1: have a power raid anymore, but he's kind of what
- 25:51Speaker 1: the power raid was based on. So maybe he just
- 25:53Speaker 1: got when the sun came out, like it was just
- 25:56Speaker 1: right and he heard her. I'm not sure, but I
- 25:58Speaker 1: don't think he thinks he heard her, especially because he's
- 26:01Speaker 1: having these like weird kind of hallucinations or whatever's going on.
- 26:05Speaker 1: But I think that he heard her and that basically
- 26:08Speaker 1: saved his life. Right then. It's pretty cool, But the
- 26:11Speaker 1: rest of this isn't cool. Like Marcel probably shouldn't facilitate
- 26:16Speaker 1: Nina giving Shin these notes. Why does Nina even know
- 26:21Speaker 1: any of this shit? Like it's not gonna help her.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Did Marcel tell her? Like, what the fuck? So I
- 26:27Speaker 1: can understand why Shin's mental state is deteriorating so rapidly now,
- 26:32Speaker 1: because it was already really bad, but now it's just
- 26:34Speaker 1: like a mess. I mean, like an entire fucking mess.
- 26:39Speaker 1: And I think if I got that letter after I
- 26:41Speaker 1: had mercy killed someone that I cared about, I think
- 26:44Speaker 1: it would just destroy me. So I get it. Anyway,
- 26:49Speaker 1: Let's go back to what's going on now. So we
- 26:52Speaker 1: had that close up shot of the side of his face,
- 26:54Speaker 1: and we hear a voice say, you can hear the
- 26:56Speaker 1: legions' voices. We cut to a similar shot and in
- 26:59Speaker 1: a different location, the voice continues, you know where they are.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Shin and Greth are standing like in the office of
- 27:06Speaker 1: the eye patch guy whose name is General Richard. I guess,
- 27:09Speaker 1: and he says, do I understand that correctly? Shen's like, yes, sir,
- 27:14Speaker 1: General Richard says, where are they? Shinn walks over to
- 27:18Speaker 1: a map that sound like a big, big screen and
- 27:21Speaker 1: he closes his eyes and he just touches the spots.
- 27:24Speaker 1: The spot turns red and he just starts scribbling lots
- 27:27Speaker 1: of red areas on the map, GREATH Gasps. He is
- 27:31Speaker 1: kind of swiping and putting red on the map until
- 27:35Speaker 1: he reaches San Magnolia, and General Richard says, forget the Republic.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Shin opens his eyes and they widen because remember he
- 27:43Speaker 1: didn't realize where he was pointing. General Richard says, that's enough.
- 27:48Speaker 1: It seems like you're telling the truth. If you have
- 27:50Speaker 1: that ability, you're even more suited for this operation. No,
- 27:55Speaker 1: it's quite simple. Our three nations will launch a full
- 27:58Speaker 1: assault as a decoy. Shin like walks back over now,
- 28:02Speaker 1: and he's just kind of staring down at his hands.
- 28:05Speaker 1: General Richard continues, lure the enemy's main forces to their
- 28:09Speaker 1: respective fronts and withdraw. The Special Assault Force will then
- 28:12Speaker 1: make an aerial entry into Legion territory, which will now
- 28:16Speaker 1: be less defended. GREATH Gasps, he continues. They will destroy
- 28:20Speaker 1: the Morpho Greth looks pretty upset. He continues, I'm assigning
- 28:26Speaker 1: Lieutenant Shine Nosen and the fifteen members of Nordlich to
- 28:29Speaker 1: the Special Offensive. We get this weird upside down shot
- 28:32Speaker 1: of Shin and his super blank expression, and General Richard says,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you'll be the vanguard of the largest joint operation in history.
- 28:41Speaker 1: The edge of the spear that pierces the Legion's defenses.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Fuck Spearhead, come on, really, you got the same name.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Shin winces at that word. He continues, give this your all.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Greth says, permission to speak. General General's like, what is it? Wenzel.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Greth says, this is a suicide mission for real? Why them?
- 29:05Speaker 1: General Richard kind of makes a humph noise, cutting her off,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and then says something. But we hear another voice overlaid
- 29:13Speaker 1: on top say, because you're eighty six. The window behind
- 29:17Speaker 1: Shin brightens and he looks like he understands or notices something,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and a voice says, I don't think that's what he's saying.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Oh so all the dead Spearhead members are standing behind Shin,
- 29:32Speaker 1: and Diyah's like, well, it is what he means. The
- 29:35Speaker 1: background of General Richard's office just kind of ends at
- 29:39Speaker 1: Shin and just his white past that, and Kujo says,
- 29:43Speaker 1: we can't assign anyone with a family to this insane mission. Huh.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Someone else is like, I guess eighty six aren't welcome
- 29:49Speaker 1: no matter where they go. In the foreground, Greth is yelling,
- 29:55Speaker 1: but we cannot hear what she's saying. And then someone
- 29:58Speaker 1: who I think is Leka says she knows that, and
- 30:00Speaker 1: she's still getting mad she can't change it. Someone else
- 30:04Speaker 1: is like, like that princess, I think. Kujo says, I
- 30:08Speaker 1: don't know anything about that, and someone else is like, wow,
- 30:12Speaker 1: I can hear the Legion's voices all the way to
- 30:14Speaker 1: the Republic's capital. A guy with blonde hair says, did
- 30:18Speaker 1: the white pigs all die? A black haired kid who
- 30:21Speaker 1: at one point I knew his name, says they're on
- 30:23Speaker 1: their way to hell. This brown haired kid says, I
- 30:26Speaker 1: don't know if hell exists, but it's all the same
- 30:28Speaker 1: when you're dead. Dia is like, die is scum or
- 30:31Speaker 1: die with pride? And then to Shin, he's like, it's
- 30:34Speaker 1: how you live that's important, right, is like we lived
- 30:37Speaker 1: with pride right up until the very end, Kujo says,
- 30:41Speaker 1: and that was only because of you, Undertaker are reaper.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Don't forget that. Thank you. Kujo disappears and is replaced
- 30:48Speaker 1: by his little scrap of metal and it clings to
- 30:51Speaker 1: the ground, and the rest of them pretty much in unison,
- 30:54Speaker 1: thanks Shin, and they become their little metal pieces, and
- 30:58Speaker 1: kind of all the ones clattered the ground behind Shin.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Shin looks hurt and he says, I'm left behind always.
- 31:09Speaker 1: We have a pre close shot of Shin, like his
- 31:13Speaker 1: head and maybe a little bit of his chest, and
- 31:15Speaker 1: all of a sudden, we see the top of Lena's
- 31:18Speaker 1: military cap and a little bit of her hair just
- 31:20Speaker 1: pass him by, and Lena says, I won't let you die.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Shin kind of sighs, totally hurt and says, then I
- 31:31Speaker 1: wanted you to live longer than we did. We see
- 31:34Speaker 1: Lena continuing to walk away. Her cab is over her
- 31:36Speaker 1: eyes so we can't see her face, and she says,
- 31:39Speaker 1: don't leave me. She's like, that was my wish. Oh.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Lena's feet step into a field of red spider lilies,
- 31:49Speaker 1: and the background is just black now besides this red
- 31:52Speaker 1: field that Lena is in, But Shin is not in
- 31:55Speaker 1: the red field with her, and Lena says, I won't forget.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Shin blinks and his eyes widened, and then he looks
- 32:03Speaker 1: like he's about to cry like me, and he says Sionada.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Red spider lily petals blow past him, and we transition
- 32:12Speaker 1: back to now. We see his reflection in the window
- 32:15Speaker 1: and it is sunset. The sky is orange and there's
- 32:19Speaker 1: little rain droplets kind of on it because it's been
- 32:21Speaker 1: raining off and on. His eyes are closed and he
- 32:23Speaker 1: almost looks content. And one of the little rain droplets
- 32:27Speaker 1: on the window falls down almost in front of his eye,
- 32:30Speaker 1: and it looks like he's crying. And we hear General
- 32:34Speaker 1: Richard saying someone has to do it in that respect,
- 32:37Speaker 1: you have experience in Legion territory. Shin opens his eyes now,
- 32:41Speaker 1: but he still looks peaceful, and the General continues, if
- 32:47Speaker 1: you've done it once, you can do it again. The
- 32:49Speaker 1: Federacy saved you from the battlefield. If you've come back
- 32:53Speaker 1: to it, it means you're willing to do this. Grath
- 32:56Speaker 1: looks like she wants to fucking kill him. General continues,
- 33:00Speaker 1: Or is a soldier's job dying in battle? There's kind
- 33:03Speaker 1: of a beat and he rubs his hands together. Is
- 33:05Speaker 1: part of the job. Shin like half smirks at this
- 33:11Speaker 1: and says, understood. Fuck. We now see a fence passing
- 33:17Speaker 1: us by and buildings like we're obviously in a motor vehicle,
- 33:21Speaker 1: and it's sunsets, and we hear Greth say, are you disillusioned,
- 33:25Speaker 1: lieutenants that the world you ended? Up In was no
- 33:29Speaker 1: better than this. I'm a little bit disillusioned. We hear
- 33:33Speaker 1: Shin say it's the best illusion to the problem at hand.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Without taking now Morpho, no matter what the costs, it'll
- 33:40Speaker 1: be difficult for the Federacy to maintain its battle lines. Greth,
- 33:43Speaker 1: who is driving this vehicle, says yeah. Shin is looking
- 33:48Speaker 1: out the window nod at her, and he's in the backseat.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Greath continues, But all we need for this mession is
- 33:53Speaker 1: your power. As long as the Morpho is destroyed, I'm
- 33:57Speaker 1: allowed to say how this operation is done, said the
- 34:00Speaker 1: other foreign units on the mission. You don't have to
- 34:02Speaker 1: go yourself. You and your friends have to stay here.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Shin's eyes narrow. Greath continues, and when the war is over,
- 34:12Speaker 1: quit the military. Shin tightens his fist. You fought more
- 34:16Speaker 1: than enough for your homeland, which refused to protect you,
- 34:19Speaker 1: So Shin cuts her off. So Greth looks kind of surprised.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Shin continues, you want us to see being who we
- 34:26Speaker 1: are for your pity and sense of justice. Is that right?
- 34:30Speaker 1: He is looking down and we're seeing him through the
- 34:32Speaker 1: rear view mirror, so we can't really see his eyes,
- 34:34Speaker 1: and he says, I'm grateful that you saved me, but
- 34:37Speaker 1: that doesn't give you the right to pity me. It
- 34:39Speaker 1: doesn't give you the right to tell me not to
- 34:41Speaker 1: fight or run from battle and make someone else fight
- 34:43Speaker 1: for me. I refuse to be like the Republic or
- 34:45Speaker 1: to turn my eyes from the war until the day
- 34:47Speaker 1: the end comes. He raises his hand to his face
- 34:51Speaker 1: and he says we but he's cut off by like
- 34:54Speaker 1: a car horn beeping and greath has to stop really
- 34:58Speaker 1: hard because she almost hits into a truck that is
- 35:00Speaker 1: going perpendicular and carrying a bunch of Reagan leaps. Great job, Greth,
- 35:04Speaker 1: I get it. Shin was talking a lot, which is
- 35:07Speaker 1: not normal anyway, She's trying to collect herself and then
- 35:10Speaker 1: she hears the door open and Shin says, there may
- 35:13Speaker 1: be a time lag that causes the mission to fail.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I'll take direct command of the assault team. He gets
- 35:18Speaker 1: out and closes to the door. Greth looks kind of hurt,
- 35:22Speaker 1: which I don't know. Man. We see Ernst in his
- 35:26Speaker 1: office and like a blonde guy's in front of him,
- 35:29Speaker 1: and it looks like Ernst is looking at like a
- 35:30Speaker 1: report or something, and actually no, it is like all
- 35:34Speaker 1: the spearhead's profiles again, and we see that under Sin's
- 35:38Speaker 1: picture it just says psychics, like in a big red box. Hey,
- 35:43Speaker 1: Ernest says, I guess we can't keep quiet about it
- 35:46Speaker 1: any longer. He puts his hand on his head. We
- 35:49Speaker 1: see a window now it's dark outside and raining, and
- 35:53Speaker 1: that black haired guy from earlier's reflection is in it,
- 35:56Speaker 1: and he says, I'm sorry for making you the hard job. General.
- 35:59Speaker 1: He is in General Richard's office, and General Richard says,
- 36:03Speaker 1: it's fine. This is a division commander's responsibility. He stands
- 36:07Speaker 1: and he looks at a map and sighs. Do you
- 36:09Speaker 1: think he'll be able to come back? Even alone? So
- 36:13Speaker 1: we just care about chin, I guess, the black haired
- 36:16Speaker 1: guy says. Strategic planning HQ says the odds of survival
- 36:19Speaker 1: are close to zero. Soldiers would be furious if one
- 36:22Speaker 1: of their friends was sent out on a mission like that,
- 36:24Speaker 1: but they'll accept it if we send the Republic's monsters. Fuck.
- 36:28Speaker 1: We got to Shin, who is sitting in his room
- 36:31Speaker 1: on the couch, and the note is open on his
- 36:34Speaker 1: desks next to him, and that red light from the
- 36:37Speaker 1: top of the tower is like pulsing in the background,
- 36:40Speaker 1: and we hear the black haired guy say they'll smirk
- 36:43Speaker 1: and say it's an appropriate mission for the eighty six fuck.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Shin is holding raise little piece of scrap metal in
- 36:50Speaker 1: his hand, and the black haired guy continues, if you're
- 36:54Speaker 1: a match for a monster, that means you're a monster yourself. Yeah.
- 36:57Speaker 1: So Shin is smiling again, like in the worst way.
- 37:00Speaker 1: You can smile again, but this one kind of looks
- 37:03Speaker 1: like I would interpret it as the smile that you
- 37:06Speaker 1: have when the world is about to end. But it's
- 37:08Speaker 1: pretty funny that it's gonna end this way. And the
- 37:10Speaker 1: black haired guy continues, if death is so attractive to them,
- 37:14Speaker 1: then why don't we let them have it. I don't
- 37:17Speaker 1: think they ever said it was black haired guy that
- 37:19Speaker 1: I don't know your name. We see the note now,
- 37:22Speaker 1: which is just a drawing this time of what I
- 37:25Speaker 1: assume is a mech but I don't really know. It
- 37:27Speaker 1: looks like a triangle, like a really big greenish triangle,
- 37:30Speaker 1: but around it are lots of little red stick figures
- 37:33Speaker 1: that are clearly supposed to be dead bodies. What the fuck, Nina.
- 37:37Speaker 1: We get to a map showing the path that Nordlich
- 37:39Speaker 1: will take to mor Fo and then to theo Karina
- 37:43Speaker 1: and what looks like a bunch of other people sitting
- 37:45Speaker 1: around them in a dark room. It's September two, twenty one,
- 37:48Speaker 1: forty nine. Everyone is just staring blankly at like, I
- 37:52Speaker 1: guess the screen in the front. Greth, who is standing
- 37:55Speaker 1: at the front of the room, says, any questions, Yeah,
- 37:59Speaker 1: it's dead silence. We cut to them leaving and someone
- 38:04Speaker 1: slamming their fists into the wall. I think it was Greth,
- 38:06Speaker 1: but like I wasn't really sure, and then only Spearhead
- 38:10Speaker 1: and Bernholdt are left. There's another guy still in there,
- 38:13Speaker 1: but he's getting up to leave, and Bernholdt says, Commander,
- 38:16Speaker 1: I appreciate you not abandoning us, but I can't watch
- 38:19Speaker 1: kids at the age of my and my relative's children
- 38:22Speaker 1: going off to die. If you change your mind, that's fine,
- 38:26Speaker 1: tell us to go without you. Shin closes his eyes
- 38:29Speaker 1: and says nothing. Burnholdt just sighs, stands and leaves. So
- 38:34Speaker 1: only Spearhead is left in the room. Right in size Well,
- 38:38Speaker 1: it's a bad enough plan that they're saying that. They
- 38:41Speaker 1: all kind of chuckle. Shin's like the Lieutenant Colonel said,
- 38:44Speaker 1: we're free to refuse. Krana is like, no way if
- 38:48Speaker 1: we run now, we're no different than the white pigs.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Angie's like, you snapped it her too, right, We feel
- 38:54Speaker 1: the same way. THEO stretches, but we were chosen for
- 38:57Speaker 1: the most dangerous part because where he's six right right
- 39:01Speaker 1: and stands right, Anju and Karna also stand and Theo's like, well,
- 39:06Speaker 1: we're going because we're eighty six. Yeah, everyone except for
- 39:10Speaker 1: Shin starts to walk out. THEO says, but I feel
- 39:14Speaker 1: kind of lonely. They all look a little bit sad
- 39:16Speaker 1: and right, and it's like, yeah, Shin is just still
- 39:19Speaker 1: sitting and right, and it's like Shin. Karina says, let's
- 39:23Speaker 1: go eat. Shin looks up and AND's like, what's for
- 39:26Speaker 1: dinner today? THEO says, I want something hot. This place
- 39:29Speaker 1: is so cold. Shin stands up and goes to catch
- 39:32Speaker 1: up with them, and A's like right right, and says
- 39:35Speaker 1: you think, And A's like it's too cold for girls.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Theo's like what and they all laugh. Let me go
- 39:41Speaker 1: the ending theme, So this time we have Shin standing.
- 39:45Speaker 1: His head is cut off by the way as the
- 39:47Speaker 1: pieces of metal fall behind him, and he's red and
- 39:49Speaker 1: the pieces are blue. And then we go to Lena
- 39:53Speaker 1: standing in the red flower field which is white now
- 39:55Speaker 1: and she's blue and Shin is standing outside it and
- 39:58Speaker 1: he's red. And let me go to black screen and
- 40:01Speaker 1: we're still in the ending theme, but we go back
- 40:03Speaker 1: to normal pictures. First we're looking through a cracked window
- 40:07Speaker 1: at the destruction of I think District one. Then we
- 40:11Speaker 1: get a shot of that street that Lena's always at,
- 40:13Speaker 1: just fucked the fuck up. Then that sign that says
- 40:17Speaker 1: eighty six day away. Then the memorial that Lena was
- 40:21Speaker 1: out when you talked to Shin just destroyed and there's
- 40:24Speaker 1: like dead eighty six like on the ground and fucked
- 40:27Speaker 1: up juggernauts. He cuts to some crumbly looking statues, and
- 40:32Speaker 1: then we go to Lina's bedroom. The windows are broken
- 40:35Speaker 1: and the curtains are torn, but that's clear box with
- 40:39Speaker 1: all the little faces in it. It's still there. It's
- 40:42Speaker 1: September second, twenty one, forty nine. And then we see
- 40:45Speaker 1: the next episode title card special visual commentary episode which
- 40:49Speaker 1: we will not watch because I don't think I have
- 40:51Speaker 1: access to it. And that's the end of the episode. Hooray.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I guess. So closing thoughts, yeah, they're just being put
- 41:00Speaker 1: right back in the most dangerous mission again because they're Spearhead,
- 41:04Speaker 1: because they're eighty six, just fucking stupid. I mean, I
- 41:07Speaker 1: get it, I get why they're the group that's chosen,
- 41:10Speaker 1: they are the most skilled, but fucking really, really really,
- 41:17Speaker 1: I'll say it one more time. Really it's just the
- 41:20Speaker 1: same thing over and over again for these kids. And
- 41:23Speaker 1: I get it, like they don't want to turn this
- 41:26Speaker 1: down because I can't even imagine being in a place
- 41:29Speaker 1: where you know you're the most skilled person and you
- 41:32Speaker 1: know that if someone else goes for you, which they could,
- 41:36Speaker 1: you're basically sending them to die. I totally respect them
- 41:41Speaker 1: for being like, no, I'm not going to metaphorically sign
- 41:46Speaker 1: someone's like death lawrant basically by deciding that I don't
- 41:50Speaker 1: want to do this, it's not fair. I mean it's
- 41:53Speaker 1: not fair to them either, But to deflect that horror
- 41:58Speaker 1: onto another human being is just really really shitty. And
- 42:03Speaker 1: they're better than that, and they know that they are,
- 42:05Speaker 1: so they can't back out. But it's not fair. But
- 42:09Speaker 1: what I think I really wanted to talk about is
- 42:12Speaker 1: what's going on with Shin I mean, we obviously you
- 42:15Speaker 1: know what's going on with Shin not good things. But
- 42:21Speaker 1: I think what's happening and what's been happening with Shin
- 42:24Speaker 1: and why he's kind of quiet all the time is
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think he's just straight up dissociating a lot of
- 42:29Speaker 1: the time, and that's why he appears not to be listening,
- 42:34Speaker 1: because that's definitely what he was doing when General Richards
- 42:37Speaker 1: was telling him, like, we're gonna go, let you guys die,
- 42:40Speaker 1: he was not really there anymore. I mean, I feel
- 42:43Speaker 1: like there's a there's probably a specific disorder that he's doing.
- 42:47Speaker 1: There's I know, there's that one disorder where like you
- 42:51Speaker 1: have that really specific like inner world, you know, like
- 42:54Speaker 1: you have a really good imagination, but in a way
- 42:56Speaker 1: that it is disruptive. I just look that up. It
- 42:59Speaker 1: is called malady aptive daydreaming, like you're using daydreaming too
- 43:04Speaker 1: much and it's a coping mechanism. So I think there's
- 43:07Speaker 1: kind of a little of each maybe going on in there,
- 43:10Speaker 1: where like he's just not there a lot of the time,
- 43:14Speaker 1: which makes sense. I mean, that's kind of what we've seen.
- 43:17Speaker 1: A lot of the time, he's just not present in
- 43:20Speaker 1: the moments and it's just getting worse now because I
- 43:25Speaker 1: don't know, but it's sad because all of his like
- 43:28Speaker 1: weird dissociative states are maladaptive daydreaming states are like super mean,
- 43:33Speaker 1: you know, I mean not all of The one that
- 43:36Speaker 1: we saw today when he was in the office was
- 43:39Speaker 1: less mean than the other ones, where like he saw
- 43:42Speaker 1: Nina basically telling him like why did you let my
- 43:45Speaker 1: brother die and shit like that, and people being really
- 43:47Speaker 1: nasty to him. That kind of sucks, but it was
- 43:50Speaker 1: kind of nice, like he almost got some closure in
- 43:53Speaker 1: the one in the office where like he let go
- 43:57Speaker 1: of Lena, which is really really sad because I don't
- 44:00Speaker 1: even know if she's dead, but he like let her
- 44:03Speaker 1: go and resigned himself to being in the situation that
- 44:08Speaker 1: he's always in, being the Reaper. You know, it sucks,
- 44:13Speaker 1: but yeah, I think a lot of his kind of
- 44:16Speaker 1: like nothingy personality and what we saw obviously when he
- 44:20Speaker 1: was in the Juggernaut, uh the Reagan Leaf last time,
- 44:23Speaker 1: where he like didn't even notice he got hurt and stuff.
- 44:26Speaker 1: He's like not really there, you know, he needs to
- 44:29Speaker 1: not be there. He needs to separate himself because this
- 44:31Speaker 1: is just too traumatic at this point, So that's what
- 44:37Speaker 1: I think is going on with Shin. I also wanted
- 44:39Speaker 1: to point out during that whatever the hell when he
- 44:42Speaker 1: was with the other members, the dead members of Spearhead,
- 44:45Speaker 1: and he said that he's always alone, and then also
- 44:49Speaker 1: earlier when THEO said, oh, you must be like really tired.
- 44:53Speaker 1: I bet they're like really chatty because there's a lot
- 44:54Speaker 1: of them. I realized that, like the rest of Living,
- 44:58Speaker 1: Spearhead doesn't have have that deep, horrible camaraderie that they
- 45:03Speaker 1: used to have with Shin where they could hear all
- 45:05Speaker 1: of the shit he was going through all the time.
- 45:07Speaker 1: It's over because there's no more power aid, so he
- 45:10Speaker 1: is truly alone in his experience again, which probably feels
- 45:15Speaker 1: really bad because he's always alone. He's always the last one,
- 45:19Speaker 1: and he's afraid he's gonna be the last one again,
- 45:21Speaker 1: and he doesn't want to be. He doesn't want to
- 45:23Speaker 1: be the one that keeps living when everyone he loves dies,
- 45:27Speaker 1: So everything's just a mess. I'm not sure he wants
- 45:30Speaker 1: to keep living anyway. So I think that's all I
- 45:35Speaker 1: got for this week. I'm real pissed off because I
- 45:38Speaker 1: was trying to get in touch with the doctor for
- 45:39Speaker 1: like three weeks and she was like, I don't know.
- 45:41Speaker 1: I don't know what's wrong with you. Thanks, that's not
- 45:44Speaker 1: very helpful anyway. I will something again next week, I hope,
- 45:50Speaker 1: and I hope you have a really good whatever. Yeah,
- 45:54Speaker 1: I do later weeps
