- 0:01Speaker 1: This production is brought to you by the Recess Bell.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I can't believe we're here already. Week one is concluded
- 0:16Speaker 1: of the 2026-27 NFL season. And we have week two
- 0:21Speaker 1: to worry about. But before any of that, first off,
- 0:24Speaker 1: this is the Recess Bell Sports. And I'm your host, Eric.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Williams right here. I'm proud. I'm happy to be here
- 0:31Speaker 1: for week one to really break down just one game.
- 0:34Speaker 1: We're going to break down one game here today. And
- 0:38Speaker 1: the game that we're going to break down, if you
- 0:40Speaker 1: know me, you know we got to break down Sunday
- 0:44Speaker 1: night's game in MetLife Giants Cowboys. Now I'm going to
- 0:49Speaker 1: start here because I'm going to save my thoughts for
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Cowboys. I'm going to give some praise to the
- 0:54Speaker 1: New York Giants and how they turn things around. And
- 0:57Speaker 1: it's very early for any organization to really judge, right?
- 1:02Speaker 1: But it does look like a different New York Giants team.
- 1:05Speaker 1: I mean, the feel around the team, the coaching staff,
- 1:09Speaker 1: the players, there's just more of an excitement around this
- 1:14Speaker 1: team now. This is no longer the same New York
- 1:16Speaker 1: Giants with Brian Dayball and Daniel Jones. I think those
- 1:23Speaker 1: New York Giants are in the past. And I'm saying
- 1:26Speaker 1: this as a Dallas Cowboys fan. Yes, it pains me
- 1:29Speaker 1: to have to say this. It does. But it's the truth.
- 1:33Speaker 1: This is a different Giants team. And they will be
- 1:36Speaker 1: exciting this season. But the schedule is tough, as we
- 1:39Speaker 1: all know. The NFC East schedule, it's not a cakewalk.
- 1:44Speaker 2: It's not.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And it usually never is a cakewalk, at least from
- 1:47Speaker 1: past history. At least I can go back, I don't know,
- 1:50Speaker 1: maybe three or four years. The NFC East schedule hasn't
- 1:53Speaker 1: been a cakewalk just because the NFC East has been competitive.
- 1:57Speaker 1: But also we don't get luck when it comes to
- 2:01Speaker 1: playing certain opponents. Like we don't get to play Cleveland
- 2:04Speaker 1: this year.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:06Speaker 1: We don't get to play Atlanta this year. So it's
- 2:14Speaker 1: a good feeling around the Giants organization. And I got
- 2:16Speaker 1: to believe some of this is also coming off of the...
- 2:19Speaker 1: championship win by the New York Knicks because the feeling
- 2:22Speaker 1: around New York right now, I mean, Aaron Judge just
- 2:25Speaker 1: came back into the Yankees lineup. Like I said, the
- 2:28Speaker 1: Knicks won the championship. The U.S. Open was here. I mean,
- 2:31Speaker 1: the feeling around New York as a whole. And yes,
- 2:34Speaker 1: this team, they do play in New Jersey, but this
- 2:36Speaker 1: is still a New York team. I mean, if you
- 2:38Speaker 1: had to ask me, the only real New York team
- 2:40Speaker 1: is the Buffalo Bills. But that's besides the point. The
- 2:44Speaker 1: feeling around New York right now with the New York
- 2:46Speaker 1: Giants and the New York Jets starting out 1-0 for
- 2:48Speaker 1: the first time since 2009. It's a great feeling around
- 2:54Speaker 1: New York right now. And as a New Yorker, I
- 2:55Speaker 1: can say that. It is. And you would have thought
- 2:59Speaker 1: the New York Giants won the Super Bowl with how
- 3:01Speaker 1: the fans reacted of how they beat the Dallas Cowboys
- 3:05Speaker 1: Sunday night. But you know what? Have that excitement. Please do.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm not going to take away that excitement from you.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I'm not going to. How is that fair for me
- 3:16Speaker 1: to do that? No, please have the excitement. Enjoy it.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Because next week you do play the Los Angeles Rams.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And yes, the Rams, they only scored seven points in Australia.
- 3:26Speaker 1: But one thing I will say about the Los Angeles Rams,
- 3:31Speaker 1: they don't have to get used to coming back home
- 3:34Speaker 1: and getting used to their time zone. They don't have
- 3:38Speaker 1: to do that. I feel like that's exactly why they
- 3:40Speaker 1: took the trip when they did and how they planned
- 3:43Speaker 1: it out. I feel like they didn't want to have
- 3:45Speaker 1: to get used to, even though it was a long
- 3:49Speaker 1: time before they had to play again, they had extra rest,
- 3:52Speaker 1: but they didn't want to have to get used to
- 3:55Speaker 1: the time zone and getting used to the West Coast
- 3:58Speaker 1: time zone, Pacific Standard time zone, whatever the case may be.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They didn't want to have to get used to that
- 4:02Speaker 1: again because that Whether you want to agree with me
- 4:06Speaker 1: or not, that is going to affect the walkthroughs, the
- 4:09Speaker 1: practice during the week. And then ultimately, it does creep
- 4:14Speaker 1: into the game and you start to see it. So
- 4:15Speaker 1: I feel like the Rams, I don't know if their
- 4:18Speaker 1: mindset was like, hey, it is what it is. We're
- 4:20Speaker 1: going to go into week one. If we come out 1-0,
- 4:23Speaker 1: all right, great. But if we come out 0-1, all right,
- 4:26Speaker 1: it is what it is. We still have 16 more
- 4:29Speaker 1: games left to play. And that's the beauty of it.
- 4:32Speaker 1: There's still 16 more games left to play in the
- 4:35Speaker 1: NFL season. So I'm not going to sit here and
- 4:38Speaker 1: evaluate teams one by one just yet. I'm not going
- 4:41Speaker 1: to do that just yet. That'll come at a later date,
- 4:44Speaker 1: maybe week four or five, when we start to see
- 4:47Speaker 1: what teams really are, what teams are still undefeated, what
- 4:50Speaker 1: teams look like they can battle to make a playoff push.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But I'm not going to do that after week one.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm not going to. But Like I said, shout out
- 4:59Speaker 1: to the New York Giants and everything that they got
- 5:01Speaker 1: going on in that organization. It really seems like they're
- 5:03Speaker 1: turning around. And shout out Jackson Dart. 23 of 29,
- 5:08Speaker 1: 230 pass yards, 54 yards on the ground, and three
- 5:13Speaker 1: touchdowns through the air. Cam Scadaboo, they took the air
- 5:18Speaker 1: out of the ball. Like the New York Giants, they
- 5:20Speaker 1: had a game plan. They had a game plan. They
- 5:23Speaker 1: came into this game with a game plan. We're going
- 5:25Speaker 1: to take the air out of the ball and we're
- 5:26Speaker 1: going to make sure the Dallas Cowboys, their offense, one
- 5:30Speaker 1: of the best offenses of the league, if you want
- 5:32Speaker 1: to agree with me or not, they can't get into rhythm.
- 5:36Speaker 1: We're not going to allow the Dallas Cowboys to get
- 5:38Speaker 1: into rhythm. And the time of possession tells the whole
- 5:42Speaker 1: story of the game. Because the New York Giants, they
- 5:46Speaker 1: had 36 minutes and 40 seconds with the ball in
- 5:50Speaker 1: their possession. And the Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand,
- 5:53Speaker 1: had 23 minutes and 20 seconds with the ball in
- 5:56Speaker 1: their possession. So they bled the clock. They did. The
- 6:00Speaker 1: Cowboys only had the ball twice in the second half
- 6:03Speaker 1: and they scored on both possessions. So that tells you
- 6:05Speaker 1: the whole story of the game. Also, the penalties, still
- 6:09Speaker 1: an issue for Dallas. But even though the Giants had
- 6:14Speaker 1: more penalties, I mean, they had one more penalty, but
- 6:16Speaker 1: they had 10 penalties and it cost them 114 yards.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And third down from both teams wasn't bad at all.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Wasn't bad. Like I saw a clip of CeeDee Lamb
- 6:27Speaker 1: and he was talking about how we got to get
- 6:30Speaker 1: better on third down and stuff like that. I don't
- 6:31Speaker 1: know if he was talking about the defense or the offense,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but both teams. I mean, obviously the Dallas defense has
- 6:37Speaker 1: to get better at stopping teams on third down. And
- 6:39Speaker 1: hopefully they go in and patch that up during the week.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But 9-4-11 on third down for the New York Giants
- 6:45Speaker 1: and 8-4-11 for the Dallas Cowboys on third down. But Man,
- 6:50Speaker 1: the Giants, it looks so promising, and it's just like,
- 6:55Speaker 1: even if they do win six games, seven games at most,
- 7:00Speaker 1: I think this team, they're going to build on that
- 7:02Speaker 1: for next year. You can see this team is still building.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So it's okay if they don't make the playoffs. You
- 7:08Speaker 1: get a mid-round draft pick in the first round. You
- 7:11Speaker 1: go back in the draft next season, you get better.
- 7:14Speaker 1: You get players that can help you, especially on defense
- 7:16Speaker 1: in the back end, which they didn't even play that bad.
- 7:20Speaker 1: May I add, they didn't play that bad. The back
- 7:23Speaker 1: end looked more promising than people have thought. It was
- 7:28Speaker 1: the defensive line that was kind of underwhelming to me
- 7:31Speaker 1: because they didn't really get that much pressure on Dak Prescott.
- 7:33Speaker 1: And I don't know if that was just Dak Prescott's
- 7:36Speaker 1: pocket awareness and how long he was holding on to
- 7:38Speaker 1: the ball and trying to get rid of it. But
- 7:42Speaker 1: I believe Dak wasn't even sacked one time in his game.
- 7:45Speaker 1: If anything, the Dallas defensive line looked better. I don't
- 7:49Speaker 1: know if that's just how they schemed up blitzes. I mean,
- 7:51Speaker 1: one of the blitzes, one of the sacks came from rookie,
- 7:55Speaker 1: first round rookie, Caleb Downs. And it was a combined
- 7:59Speaker 1: sack between, let me see here, Donovan Ezeraku and Jonathan Bullard.
- 8:04Speaker 1: So look, the Dallas defensive line on paper, yeah, they
- 8:09Speaker 1: played better. I just didn't see the pressure from the
- 8:13Speaker 1: New York Giants front seven. I didn't see it. Even
- 8:17Speaker 1: though there were certain times where pressure was created. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: one of those times was at the end of the
- 8:23Speaker 1: first half when Dallas and Dak Prescott turned the ball over.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And you essentially gave the Giants seven points. We can't
- 8:31Speaker 1: have that happen. Because look, even if you throw the
- 8:35Speaker 1: ball out of bounds, it's fourth down, you punt the ball,
- 8:38Speaker 1: and now the Giants are deep in their own territory.
- 8:41Speaker 1: So now they have to march down the field with about,
- 8:43Speaker 1: I don't know, a minute left. Less than a minute left.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I can't remember exactly what the time was during the
- 8:50Speaker 1: game when that interception happened, but you have to make
- 8:55Speaker 1: them work for their points. And the soft coverage on
- 8:58Speaker 1: that possession before the half ended, it reminded me a
- 9:02Speaker 1: lot of Matt Eberflus' defense. And you know what? Now
- 9:07Speaker 1: we're going to get straight into my thoughts on the
- 9:09Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys so far in week one. And this is no...
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know, dominant. This is no game-changing defense. We knew that,
- 9:20Speaker 1: but we expected them to be better, and it just
- 9:23Speaker 1: didn't look like that. You gave up 165 yards on
- 9:26Speaker 1: the ground. The Giants averaged four and a half yards
- 9:30Speaker 1: per carry. It just looked the same as last season,
- 9:34Speaker 1: but it's okay. I'm going to tell you why, because
- 9:37Speaker 1: we got to give it some time to gel. And
- 9:41Speaker 1: this is the part that I don't like about the
- 9:43Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys, and they've been doing this ever since Tony
- 9:45Speaker 1: Romo got hurt in 2016. They don't play the starters
- 9:50Speaker 1: in the preseason. Why? Because of Tony Romo. I just
- 9:56Speaker 1: feel like that's the reason why they don't play the
- 9:58Speaker 1: starters in the preseason anymore. You got to get these
- 10:01Speaker 1: guys reps. And yes, joint practices, they do help. They
- 10:05Speaker 1: do help at the end of the day. But you
- 10:08Speaker 1: got to get these guys out there in game situations
- 10:12Speaker 1: where they got to worry about the clock and they
- 10:15Speaker 1: got to worry about making adjustments on the fly. Like, yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you could probably do all that in practice, but in
- 10:20Speaker 1: an actual game where it matters. In preseason games, yes,
- 10:24Speaker 1: they don't matter, but they matter for... They're preseason games
- 10:29Speaker 1: for a reason. Get your guys out there. Let them
- 10:33Speaker 1: get used to playing because they haven't played football since January.
- 10:36Speaker 1: You just expect these guys to go out there in
- 10:38Speaker 1: week one and show themselves how they were playing in January, December,
- 10:42Speaker 1: November of last year. That's... It's not logical. They have
- 10:48Speaker 1: to start playing the players in the preseason. But I mean,
- 10:53Speaker 1: on to my next point. Look, I'm not going to
- 11:00Speaker 1: sit here and panic just yet. I'm not. Because I knew.
- 11:06Speaker 1: I woke up Sunday morning and I had a mood.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I had a feeling that this defense wasn't going to
- 11:13Speaker 1: look as great as people were hyping it up to be.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And a lot of people weren't hyping it up, but
- 11:20Speaker 1: you expected them to be better, at least average. They
- 11:23Speaker 1: didn't look that way. They didn't even look average. I mean,
- 11:27Speaker 1: there were a couple of standout players in this game,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but I don't know. There was a lot of miscommunication.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It just didn't look pretty on defense. It looked like
- 11:38Speaker 1: the same old Dallas defense from last season. But it's okay.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I have full belief that they'll get it together. But
- 11:44Speaker 1: you just might have to go trade for somebody. You
- 11:47Speaker 1: just might have to. You might have to go get
- 11:49Speaker 1: a solidified green dot to run that defense because I
- 11:53Speaker 1: just don't see it in Damarian Overshawn. He's great. He's talented, athletic,
- 11:58Speaker 1: but he can't stay healthy. And we saw it. He
- 12:02Speaker 1: went out in the game with a hamstring injury and
- 12:04Speaker 1: right now it's looking like he's going to miss at
- 12:06Speaker 1: least a week or two. So they gave Jay Sean
- 12:10Speaker 1: Barham the green dot. to run the defense. And when
- 12:13Speaker 1: that happened, the Giants took advantage. And that's when they
- 12:17Speaker 1: ran three of the same plays back to back to back.
- 12:24Speaker 1: You know exactly what I'm talking about too. The Devon
- 12:27Speaker 1: Singletary catches. They ran it back to back to back.
- 12:31Speaker 1: They might have ran it four times in a row.
- 12:33Speaker 1: I can't tell you exactly, but all I know is
- 12:35Speaker 1: they ran this play three or four times in a
- 12:38Speaker 1: row and there were no adjustments. Nobody was in the
- 12:40Speaker 1: flat to cover that. Jayshon Barham, I don't know if
- 12:43Speaker 1: there was communication between him and Christian Parker. I don't
- 12:47Speaker 1: know if Christian Parker really sniffed it out and if
- 12:49Speaker 1: he saw it because you got to give him grace.
- 12:52Speaker 1: He's a first time defensive coordinator, a first time play
- 12:56Speaker 1: caller on defense. I'm going to give him grace. Am
- 13:00Speaker 1: I even going to judge him based on how the
- 13:02Speaker 1: defense performs in the Washington game? No, I'm not going
- 13:06Speaker 1: to because it's still fresh. The players are still getting
- 13:10Speaker 1: used to it. And there's a lot of young guys
- 13:13Speaker 1: on defense. I mean, Caleb Downs is young, even though
- 13:15Speaker 1: he was one of the bright spots on the defense
- 13:18Speaker 1: Sunday night. Jayshon Barham, who I just mentioned, he's a
- 13:22Speaker 1: young guy, right? Ezra Rockwell is a young guy. There's
- 13:26Speaker 1: a lot of young guys on this defense, but there
- 13:28Speaker 1: are veterans that can help. I think you got to
- 13:31Speaker 1: turn it over to the veterans. Let them do what
- 13:33Speaker 1: they can do. But I don't know. I just... Am
- 13:39Speaker 1: I going into this Washington game hopeful that they can
- 13:42Speaker 1: turn this around and do something? Yeah, but it's going
- 13:45Speaker 1: to take a lot of film. First off, you're playing
- 13:50Speaker 1: Jaden Daniels. When you think about Jaden Daniels, he's kind
- 13:55Speaker 1: of the same type of quarterback Jackson Dart is. They
- 13:58Speaker 1: like to rely on their feet, so they're going to
- 14:00Speaker 1: move the pocket. You're going to see a lot of
- 14:04Speaker 1: throws in the flat when they're moving the pocket, a
- 14:06Speaker 1: lot of bootlegs. The tight ends. You're going to see
- 14:09Speaker 1: that a lot. And Dallas just didn't cover things in
- 14:12Speaker 1: the flat. They didn't cover up the bootlegs. It just
- 14:17Speaker 1: looked like the same Matt Iberfluh's defense. And I hate
- 14:20Speaker 1: the fact that I'm saying it, but do I have
- 14:23Speaker 1: faith it'll get better? Yeah, we just got to keep
- 14:25Speaker 1: it going along. We got to get in the film room.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Hatch this stuff up, please. But I thought this was
- 14:37Speaker 1: very interesting because I've never heard Brian Schottenheimer curse a
- 14:40Speaker 1: day in my life. If I'm just being honest. Maybe
- 14:44Speaker 1: I have last season. But. Here's Brian Schotthammer talking about
- 14:49Speaker 1: the young players on the defense and basically how frustrated
- 14:51Speaker 1: he was in this loss against the New York Giants.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You know, one of the things, not excuse, guys, we
- 14:56Speaker 2: did not play well. But you got young players and
- 15:00Speaker 2: young player closes in Jackson Dart boots and gets outside.
- 15:04Speaker 2: We don't push three different times to the flat route.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Excuse my language. Those are going to happen. And we
- 15:11Speaker 2: have to coach the young players better. But when you
- 15:13Speaker 2: play young players, it's part of the deal. And they
- 15:17Speaker 2: need to learn quickly.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And that's just all of us right now. We're all
- 15:21Speaker 1: frustrated just like that because it looks like we're seeing
- 15:23Speaker 1: the same team that's out there that we saw from
- 15:26Speaker 1: last season. And even at times last season for the offense,
- 15:30Speaker 1: it was very underwhelming. Sunday night was very underwhelming for
- 15:33Speaker 1: the offense as well. It was not a play over
- 15:36Speaker 1: 20 yards for that offense, and this is supposed to
- 15:39Speaker 1: be some high-powered offense? Come on. Where is it at?
- 15:45Speaker 1: I mean, like, okay, Dak, he had an 89 quarterback rating,
- 15:49Speaker 1: but look, you can't have that interception. And the reason
- 15:54Speaker 1: why I feel like they were driving down the field
- 15:56Speaker 1: was just because they took advantage of the matchups they
- 15:59Speaker 1: had on the outside, and They used that to their advantage.
- 16:02Speaker 1: And obviously, maybe CeeDee Lamb got some superstar calls, if
- 16:05Speaker 1: you want to say that. But I do feel like
- 16:07Speaker 1: he did get some superstar calls. And it's just the truth.
- 16:12Speaker 1: He did. Some of those calls that he got wasn't
- 16:16Speaker 1: really anything to throw a flag at. Not really. And
- 16:20Speaker 1: his touchdown, oh man. His touchdown, that was not a...
- 16:26Speaker 1: That was a push-off. It should have been a flag
- 16:28Speaker 1: on him. But it's okay. It's all right. Do I
- 16:31Speaker 1: have full belief that the offense will even pick it
- 16:33Speaker 1: up against Washington? Yeah, because I don't see anything in
- 16:36Speaker 1: Washington's defense that makes me panic. That makes me say, oh,
- 16:41Speaker 1: like we're not going to be able to move the
- 16:42Speaker 1: ball against them, even on Washington's offense. I think if
- 16:46Speaker 1: you can get to Jaden Daniels, make him feel uncomfortable
- 16:49Speaker 1: in the pocket. And yes, this is what I alluded
- 16:52Speaker 1: to before. They're going to try and move the pocket
- 16:55Speaker 1: for Jaden Daniels just because they don't want him to
- 16:57Speaker 1: feel pressured. They don't want him to feel that pressure.
- 17:00Speaker 1: So they're going to game plan for Jaden Daniels to
- 17:05Speaker 1: be moved out the pocket. And naturally, he's one of
- 17:07Speaker 1: those quarterbacks that will just move out the pocket because
- 17:10Speaker 1: he has the ability to. He's athletic. The guy can run.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I mean, we've seen it the two years he's been
- 17:18Speaker 1: in the league. And I mean, one of the reasons
- 17:20Speaker 1: why he missed so many games last season was just
- 17:22Speaker 1: because he's athletic. He likes to use his legs and
- 17:25Speaker 1: he put himself out there. He got hurt. And I
- 17:28Speaker 1: think there's just a lot put on Jackson Dart and
- 17:31Speaker 1: his health. We should be talking about Jaden Daniels the
- 17:34Speaker 1: same way. We should. But that's a discussion for another day.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I mean. Look, we got to show this up on defense,
- 17:42Speaker 1: but also on offense. I'm not going to let them
- 17:46Speaker 1: live this down. I'm not. I want to see more
- 17:49Speaker 1: carries in production out of Javante Williams. Even though you're
- 17:52Speaker 1: missing your best offensive lineman, maybe he is one of
- 17:56Speaker 1: the best guards in the NFL, Tyler Smith. But TJ
- 17:59Speaker 1: Bass didn't play all that bad. I actually really like
- 18:02Speaker 1: him as a backup.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I do.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Tyler Guyton on the left side as a left tackle
- 18:08Speaker 1: held his own against Brian Burns. He looked very well
- 18:10Speaker 1: in this game against the Giants. The offensive line actually
- 18:14Speaker 1: played very well. They actually surprised me. I expected it
- 18:17Speaker 1: to be worse. I did, especially against that Giants front seven.
- 18:22Speaker 1: But I don't know. It's week one. This is the thing.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Like you can't really judge based off what you see
- 18:27Speaker 1: out of one game. We got to take it week
- 18:29Speaker 1: by week. Because entirely this defense for Dallas, they can
- 18:33Speaker 1: look entirely different next week. The offense for Dallas, they
- 18:36Speaker 1: can look entirely different next week. The offense for the
- 18:41Speaker 1: New York Giants against the Rams Monday night, they can
- 18:44Speaker 1: look entirely different. Like it's just too early to judge anything.
- 18:47Speaker 1: But from what I saw, the Giants, the energy in
- 18:52Speaker 1: that organization right now, it's looking pretty good. And this
- 18:56Speaker 1: is not the same old New York Giants. I will
- 18:58Speaker 1: say that. But for the Dallas Cowboys, I hope they
- 19:02Speaker 1: can get it together. I truly do. Because if you
- 19:06Speaker 1: go into this Brazil game against the Ravens 0-2, look,
- 19:12Speaker 1: I'm already down on that game just based off of
- 19:15Speaker 1: how Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson looked against the Indianapolis
- 19:19Speaker 1: Colts on the road. And here's the thing. I think
- 19:23Speaker 1: I judged John Harbaugh and the New York Giants terribly wrong.
- 19:28Speaker 1: I did. How I judged, how I thought the Dallas
- 19:32Speaker 1: Cowboys were going to win Sunday night and how I
- 19:35Speaker 1: booked it, because I put cash down on the Dallas
- 19:38Speaker 1: Cowboys to not only win, but to cover a alternate
- 19:41Speaker 1: spread of six and a half points. I said, the Ravens,
- 19:45Speaker 1: if they play good without John Harbaugh, I mean, if
- 19:48Speaker 1: they play great and they did. I said, hey, John
- 19:53Speaker 1: Harbaugh had the same team last season, one of the
- 19:55Speaker 1: best defenses on paper, but he wasn't able to do that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: But I was totally wrong. I was totally wrong. John
- 20:04Speaker 1: Harbaugh made me of a fool.
- 20:07Speaker 2: He did.
- 20:09Speaker 1: But it's still early. It's still early. We can't jump
- 20:14Speaker 1: the gun on any of this stuff just yet. So
- 20:16Speaker 1: I want to say, Dallas fans, stay calm. It'll be
- 20:20Speaker 1: better days. Trust me. Hopefully next Sunday, we use this
- 20:25Speaker 1: as a tune-up game. It might be a close game.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It might not be. On both sides. We might get
- 20:32Speaker 1: blown out. Or we might blow out the Washington Commanders.
- 20:37Speaker 1: You just don't know how it's going to go. But
- 20:39Speaker 1: we need this to be a tune-up game for when
- 20:42Speaker 1: we take this trip to Brazil. Because I can't express
- 20:47Speaker 1: how important that Brazil game is. I mean, if you
- 20:51Speaker 1: come out of that Brazil game 1-2, okay, now you
- 20:56Speaker 1: have to go to Houston. See, and this is what
- 20:59Speaker 1: I was talking about earlier. Dallas' schedule, the whole NFC East,
- 21:04Speaker 1: their schedule is very tough. So you have to, the
- 21:09Speaker 1: Dallas Cowboys had to take advantage of that game Sunday night.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You had to win that game. It was a very
- 21:15Speaker 1: important game because I feel like every game on this
- 21:18Speaker 1: schedule this season is very important. Very important. Because you
- 21:23Speaker 1: have to play teams like the 49ers. The Arizona Cardinals
- 21:26Speaker 1: don't even look to be a pushover. We lost to
- 21:29Speaker 1: them last season. The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Arizona
- 21:31Speaker 1: Cardinals last season. They don't look to be a pushover.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I don't know if that's more of, you know, Justin
- 21:37Speaker 1: Herbert and Mike McDaniel not being on the same page
- 21:41Speaker 1: and the Chargers just being overrated. Or if the Arizona
- 21:45Speaker 1: Cardinals are actually no slouch. But I don't know. I
- 21:50Speaker 1: don't know. The schedule is tough. But we'll take it
- 21:52Speaker 1: week by week. And that was just my thoughts on
- 21:56Speaker 1: Sunday night's game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New
- 21:58Speaker 1: York Giants. So I'll say this on behalf of myself,
- 22:01Speaker 1: Eric Williams, and the Recess Bell Sports Podcast. I'm signing
- 22:07Speaker 1: off and I'll probably see you sometime soon because there's
- 22:10Speaker 1: a lot more that we have to talk about when
- 22:11Speaker 1: it comes to NFL week one, week two. We're going
- 22:17Speaker 1: to be doing this all season. So stay tuned for
- 22:20Speaker 1: me and I'll see you in the next one. Peace.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Thank you.
