- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello everybody, welcome to another Radio Archive Hour here from
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Radio Hall of Fame Phil Henry Show and our
- 0:05Speaker 1: Radio Archives at philhenryshow.com.
- 0:07Speaker 2: This is from the year, what year is this, bud?
- 0:10Speaker 3: Let me just double check it.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I told you you've got to have that ready.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Yes, November 99.
- 0:15Speaker 2: November what?
- 0:15Speaker 4: 99.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It's 90, now say it clear, bud. November 99, Steve Bozell,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and this is when Steve and his wife and the
- 0:23Speaker 1: kids had just moved into their new home in Corona, California.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Steve was a construction contractor. And he calls our show
- 0:28Speaker 1: traumatized after his home was silly stringed on Halloween night.
- 0:32Speaker 1: He considers this a personal attack against him since none
- 0:35Speaker 1: of the other homes on the street were vandalized. Steve
- 0:39Speaker 1: Bozell and the silly string.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I mean, that's kind of right. Yeah, it took you
- 0:44Speaker 2: a while. Do you own your own home?
- 0:45Speaker 4: I do own my own home. We have lived in
- 0:47Speaker 4: our current residence about four years. We live in a
- 0:50Speaker 4: neighborhood where there are quite a few kids. We've got
- 0:52Speaker 4: a lot of families, especially on our street. We do
- 0:54Speaker 4: live on a cul-de-sac, which means that we have, I think,
- 0:57Speaker 4: a nice, safe neighborhood. There's not a lot of through traffic,
- 1:00Speaker 4: so the kids can trick-or-treat up and down a lot
- 1:03Speaker 4: of these streets because they are cul-de-sacs.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So you don't get a lot of vehicle traffic going through.
- 1:06Speaker 4: That's correct, yes.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, what's the deal? So you guys were trick-or-treating last night?
- 1:12Speaker 4: No, my wife took the two girls out to trick-or-treat,
- 1:16Speaker 4: and I stayed at home. And we had... do Halloween
- 1:21Speaker 4: up maybe more so than other families because it's a
- 1:24Speaker 4: fun holiday for us.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I want to ask you, I'm sorry, you own your
- 1:28Speaker 5: own home now, and how long have you lived in
- 1:30Speaker 5: this home?
- 1:31Speaker 4: We lived in this home for four years.
- 1:33Speaker 2: All right. And is that the only house that you've owned?
- 1:36Speaker 4: No, sir. I'm from Knoxville, Tennessee originally, and we owned
- 1:39Speaker 4: a home there for 10 years before we moved out
- 1:41Speaker 4: to Southern California.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All right, so you had your wife's out with the kids.
- 1:47Speaker 4: My wife was out with the kids, and we do Halloween,
- 1:50Speaker 4: you know, what kind of candies the kids like. We
- 1:53Speaker 4: found out the kids love the Reese's Pieces or the
- 1:56Speaker 4: Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, the Reese's Sticks, now and laters.
- 2:01Speaker 4: They love Milky Ways. We carve a couple of jack-o'-lanterns.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I cut up two jack-o'-lanterns. We had all the music.
- 2:07Speaker 4: We do prerecorded spooky music and all the Halloween music.
- 2:12Speaker 4: My wife and I also dress up. We get into
- 2:14Speaker 4: costume for it.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So that you're in costume when the kids come to
- 2:17Speaker 2: the door?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 2:19Speaker 2: What do you dress up as?
- 2:20Speaker 4: Well, I get into a Dracula cape, and I do that, and,
- 2:24Speaker 4: you know, those fake Dracula teeth or whatever. It's a
- 2:27Speaker 4: little difficult to talk to the kids with those, but
- 2:30Speaker 4: my wife dresses up in kind of a good witch,
- 2:33Speaker 4: a Wendy the Witch costume, and we really strive year
- 2:35Speaker 4: in and year out to do what we can. Now,
- 2:38Speaker 4: we're doing this anyway... Last night.
- 2:42Speaker 2: You went to a therapist today, correct?
- 2:44Speaker 4: I went to a family therapist. Halloween's my favorite holiday.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I love Halloween so much. It's a kid's holiday, but
- 2:51Speaker 4: I think it brings out a lot of imagination. I
- 2:54Speaker 4: also called my attorney this morning as soon as I
- 2:57Speaker 4: got back from Dr. Spell's office.
- 3:01Speaker 2: You don't have to mention anybody's name here, okay? All right, sir?
- 3:05Speaker 4: Yes, sir, I understand that.
- 3:07Speaker 5: Just don't mention anybody's name, doctor or lawyer or otherwise,
- 3:10Speaker 5: to protect their anonymity.
- 3:11Speaker 4: I understand that.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead.
- 3:14Speaker 4: About, I'd say a little bit after 8 o'clock, the
- 3:18Speaker 4: doorbell rings, and we've been going along pretty good. We've
- 3:20Speaker 4: been giving out candy. We've got a lot of trick-or-treaters
- 3:22Speaker 4: coming to our house. So the doorbell rings about 8 o'clock.
- 3:26Speaker 4: I go to the door. My wife has since come
- 3:28Speaker 4: back with the two little ones. We've got two. We've
- 3:30Speaker 4: got a 5- and 6-year-old, both of my daughters, so
- 3:32Speaker 4: they don't stay out too late. They went out about,
- 3:35Speaker 4: I'd say, 6, and they came back about 7. Okay. Okay.
- 3:40Speaker 4: Doorbell rings. I open the door. There's a group of
- 3:44Speaker 4: kids there. They say trick-or-treat. My wife was the first
- 3:49Speaker 4: one to notice it, and I took down a note
- 3:51Speaker 4: that my attorney told me to note down to use
- 3:53Speaker 4: that time. And our entire front door, as well as
- 3:58Speaker 4: the gate outside leading to the front door, as well
- 4:01Speaker 4: as our garage door, have been covered in silly string.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I have been a homeowner, sir, for Now.
- 4:07Speaker 2: This was covered in silly string.
- 4:09Speaker 5: If anybody knows what that is, it's the stuff that
- 4:11Speaker 5: shoots out of a can?
- 4:12Speaker 4: I don't know. It's something that kids squirt out of
- 4:14Speaker 4: a can. It's like a long string. It comes in
- 4:16Speaker 4: different colors, and it covers everything. And it's all over
- 4:24Speaker 4: the car. It's all over the garage door. It's all
- 4:26Speaker 4: over our front door. It was all over the gate
- 4:28Speaker 4: that leads out to our front door. And I tell you,
- 4:34Speaker 4: I've lived in this house for four years. And before that,
- 4:36Speaker 4: we lived in our own home for 10 years. And
- 4:39Speaker 4: every single solitary year, we had never had any problem
- 4:44Speaker 4: like this. I had my home in Knoxville, Tennessee. I
- 4:47Speaker 4: own my home here in Corona. It's 14 straight Halloweens.
- 4:50Speaker 4: And every year, I'd say, what a great Halloween it's been.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Next year is even going to be better. And for
- 4:56Speaker 4: the first time since I've been a homeowner, we got
- 4:59Speaker 4: silly stringed. And I asked myself and I asked my
- 5:04Speaker 4: wife what it was that I did wrong or what
- 5:06Speaker 4: we could have done to prevent this. And we just
- 5:09Speaker 4: sit and think about it. I can't seem to come
- 5:12Speaker 4: up with many answers. I had told my doctor. that
- 5:18Speaker 4: I felt a little bit inadequate about this. He asked
- 5:21Speaker 4: me why. I said there are a number of issues.
- 5:23Speaker 4: First of all, the fact that none of the other
- 5:25Speaker 4: houses on our block had been silly-stringed, none of them
- 5:28Speaker 4: had been TP'd, there had been no any kind of
- 5:31Speaker 4: vandalism or tricks or whatever you want to call it.
- 5:34Speaker 4: He said to me that I might have been taking
- 5:37Speaker 4: this personally, and I said to him, I am the
- 5:39Speaker 4: only home on our block that had his house silly-stringed.
- 5:44Speaker 4: I got no sleep last night because I was worried
- 5:48Speaker 4: that now someone is in the neighborhood trying to make
- 5:56Speaker 4: me look like a fool. None of the other houses
- 5:59Speaker 4: got silly string, but I got silly string. That's 14
- 6:01Speaker 4: straight Halloweens that we had never got silly string. Now,
- 6:05Speaker 4: I have two homes. We have a very well-lit home.
- 6:09Speaker 4: You can see our home up and down the street.
- 6:12Speaker 4: All of the neighbors obviously can see this. Somebody out there,
- 6:16Speaker 4: one of the kids, I don't know who, was trying
- 6:18Speaker 4: to make me look like a fool and trying to
- 6:21Speaker 4: humiliate my family. My doctor said not to take it personally,
- 6:24Speaker 4: and I was so humiliated because it made me look foolish. And,
- 6:28Speaker 4: of course, my next-door neighbor, who you told me not
- 6:31Speaker 4: to mention any names, I'll just say his first name
- 6:33Speaker 4: is Bill, has had this running thing going on with
- 6:37Speaker 4: me that he doesn't like the way that we decorate
- 6:39Speaker 4: our home. So I don't know who it is.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Well, do you suspect your next-door neighbor?
- 6:43Speaker 4: I don't know who it is. I could very well
- 6:45Speaker 4: be my next door neighbor. I don't know. We do
- 6:48Speaker 4: decorate our home on Halloween. We love to do it up.
- 6:52Speaker 6: All right.
- 6:59Speaker 5: You sound like you're having a hard time talking about this.
- 7:02Speaker 5: And I want to be very, very clear. You went
- 7:05Speaker 5: to your therapist this morning. Because your home got silly-stringed.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I went to talk to our family therapist this morning
- 7:12Speaker 4: because there's someone on the street who is trying to
- 7:15Speaker 4: make me look foolish and trying to make my family
- 7:18Speaker 4: look like a fool. Because we've been four years on
- 7:20Speaker 4: this block and nobody had ever silly-stringed or TP'd our
- 7:23Speaker 4: home or any of that nonsense. And ten years our
- 7:26Speaker 4: home in Knoxville, Tennessee, nobody had ever TP'd the home
- 7:29Speaker 4: at all. And now this has happened to me. And...
- 7:35Speaker 4: I have contacted an attorney, and I can tell you this, Mr. Henry,
- 7:38Speaker 4: that there is some grounds in his opinion for emotional distress,
- 7:41Speaker 4: not only for vandalism but emotional distress, but I don't
- 7:44Speaker 4: yet know who done it to me and who done
- 7:46Speaker 4: it to my family.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Well, is this a legal issue or is this a
- 7:50Speaker 2: psychological issue? What do you think is going on with you?
- 7:54Speaker 4: I think that someone obviously has it in for me
- 7:58Speaker 4: or my family, but I need to deal with that.
- 8:02Speaker 5: So somebody is trying to make you look like a
- 8:04Speaker 5: fool by silly stringing your house, but you need to
- 8:07Speaker 5: psychologically deal with that.
- 8:08Speaker 4: I need to kind of bust through whatever this persecution
- 8:12Speaker 4: is and then deal with it in a positive way.
- 8:15Speaker 2: All right, Steve, will you hold on? Mr.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Bozell from Corona, whose home was silly stringed last night.
- 8:21Speaker 5: This was an emotional trauma for him to the point
- 8:23Speaker 5: where he went to a doctor this morning, took off work.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Apparently he's lived on the street for four years. His
- 8:30Speaker 5: house has never, ever been... silly-stringed or attacked in this way.
- 8:34Speaker 5: He lived in his home in Tennessee for 10 years
- 8:37Speaker 5: and there has never been any such incident. And right
- 8:41Speaker 5: now he is experiencing an emotional episode that at least
- 8:46Speaker 5: has necessitated a visit to a psychologist.
- 8:49Speaker 2: This is the Phil Henry Show.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Phil Henry Show at 1-800-449-8686. Day after Halloween, I didn't
- 8:55Speaker 5: quite think we'd be dealing with emotional trauma from adults.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And this is unusual.
- 9:01Speaker 5: But a listener of ours out in Corona, Steve Bozell,
- 9:06Speaker 5: basically you had your home silly-stringed, and this has never happened.
- 9:09Speaker 2: To you before.
- 9:10Speaker 4: It has not happened in the years that we've lived here.
- 9:12Speaker 4: And we've lived here four years and in the ten
- 9:14Speaker 4: years prior to that. So I've been a homeowner for
- 9:17Speaker 4: 14 years. I've never had my home vandalized in that manner.
- 9:22Speaker 4: I've never had children come to my home and disrespect
- 9:24Speaker 4: in that manner, especially considering the fact that we have
- 9:27Speaker 4: done everything that we can to– Really bring the spirit
- 9:30Speaker 4: of Halloween to our home. We love Halloween, and we
- 9:33Speaker 4: have gotten all the good candy. We don't give out
- 9:35Speaker 4: no popcorn bags. We don't give out no nut bags.
- 9:38Speaker 4: We don't give out no dried fruit. I have never,
- 9:41Speaker 4: ever given out no popcorn bags.
- 9:45Speaker 2: You said you researched the candy?
- 9:46Speaker 4: Well, we know exactly what the kids love. They love
- 9:48Speaker 4: the Reese's sticks. They love the Now and Laters, the
- 9:50Speaker 4: Milk Away, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. I've never not
- 9:53Speaker 4: given out no raisin boxes, and I never will. And
- 9:56Speaker 4: that's just a personal thing that I've always felt for myself.
- 9:59Speaker 4: And so we have the enjoyment of the children of mine.
- 10:02Speaker 4: And for me to hit the door, and I can
- 10:03Speaker 4: tell you exactly, it was 8.03, because my attorney told
- 10:05Speaker 4: me to write down the exact time that I'd seen
- 10:07Speaker 4: Silly String at my door. I'll tell you, that took
- 10:09Speaker 4: the wind out of my sails.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Well, I appreciate how you get into the spirit of Halloween,
- 10:14Speaker 5: I'll tell you that much. I also appreciate how this
- 10:17Speaker 5: has affected you to the point where you actually went
- 10:19Speaker 5: and talked to a professional today.
- 10:21Speaker 4: I can tell you, Mr. Henry, I did not sleep
- 10:24Speaker 4: last night. I had a very difficult time sleeping last night,
- 10:26Speaker 4: I should say.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Let me go to your neighborhood, in fact. Here is
- 10:29Speaker 2: Corona on the Phil Henry Show.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Hello?
- 10:31Speaker 7: Hi.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Yes.
- 10:33Speaker 7: I just want to say, I don't think.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Are you calling from Corona, ma'am?
- 10:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Do you know the neighborhood I'm talking about?
- 10:40Speaker 7: What neighborhood is this?
- 10:42Speaker 4: Well... We're up near the hills. Where were you last? Well,
- 10:47Speaker 4: I'm not saying you did it, but you know what
- 10:50Speaker 4: part of Corona you're in?
- 10:52Speaker 8: You probably wouldn't know it.
- 10:53Speaker 3: It's small.
- 10:54Speaker 7: But I know what you're talking about. It's a nice area.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 10:57Speaker 7: And, sir, it's... I don't think this is a personal
- 11:01Speaker 7: thing at all. I'm 15 years old, and when I
- 11:04Speaker 7: was younger, I used to do this to people I liked.
- 11:08Speaker 7: If someone toilet papered my house, I would come to
- 11:11Speaker 7: school excited, like, oh, guess what happened? I got toilet papered.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Well, that's no. The way it works with a trick-or-treat
- 11:16Speaker 4: is they give you a trick if they don't like
- 11:18Speaker 4: the treats or whatever. We always give out the very best.
- 11:23Speaker 4: That's what the kids have told us anyway.
- 11:25Speaker 7: I don't think that any trick-or-treaters is taking the slang
- 11:29Speaker 7: term trick-or-treat as something personal, like if they don't like
- 11:33Speaker 7: your treats, they'll trick you. It's Halloween night, and they
- 11:35Speaker 7: didn't do any permanent damage to your home.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Well, who would do it? Because my children are too
- 11:40Speaker 4: small to have any friends who'd be around Silly String.
- 11:43Speaker 4: I've got two daughters who are five and six years
- 11:45Speaker 4: of age.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I've got to ask the lady to turn her radio down.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I can hear it in the car there.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Okay?
- 11:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:50Speaker 7: Okay, I'm sorry.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all right.
- 11:52Speaker 4: You know, who do they know? Five-year-old child going around
- 11:55Speaker 4: with a silly string in me. Somebody, I think, is
- 11:58Speaker 4: trying to intimidate my family, and that's the thing that
- 11:59Speaker 4: scares me the most.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Intimidate your family?
- 12:01Speaker 4: That's where I really feel this is coming from, yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 7: Sir, I honestly don't. Just to give an example, my parents'
- 12:07Speaker 7: friends toilet papered us on their 20th anniversary with happy
- 12:10Speaker 7: anniversary across our lawn. It is not always a personal thing,
- 12:15Speaker 7: and even if it.
- 12:16Speaker 4: You said that the people know you, though. Right.
- 12:19Speaker 8: Even if they don't know you, sir.
- 12:20Speaker 4: That's what scares the hell out of me.
- 12:23Speaker 7: But, sir, it was in a good way. And I
- 12:26Speaker 7: don't think this is a personal thing, especially on Halloween night.
- 12:30Speaker 7: Kids are going around doing things just randomly. They will
- 12:34Speaker 7: pick a house randomly. I have friends who.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Have done it... I have never given out a raisin box.
- 12:41Speaker 7: Honestly, sir, on Halloween night, you're lucky that you didn't
- 12:43Speaker 7: get eggs.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I will tell you this, and the reason why is
- 12:45Speaker 4: because my wife and I, on Halloween, we don't give
- 12:47Speaker 4: out no raisin box. I have never given out a
- 12:49Speaker 4: raisin box.
- 12:50Speaker 7: Sir, I can almost promise you that the people that
- 12:53Speaker 7: did this to you did not go trick-or-treating at your house.
- 12:57Speaker 5: They just walked up possibly and started smearing the door
- 13:00Speaker 5: because they could probably be caught.
- 13:03Speaker 7: Have you talked to any of your neighbors?
- 13:05Speaker 4: I've talked to....
- 13:07Speaker 2: Who is your neighbor?
- 13:08Speaker 4: I have a neighbor. His name is Bill Bozinger. Mr.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Bozinger has always been a little bit jealous of the
- 13:12Speaker 4: way my wife and I do up Halloween. And I'll
- 13:16Speaker 4: tell you right now that I feel in my heart
- 13:19Speaker 4: that this guy Bozinger did it. But I can't prove it.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Have you thought about talking to him about it?
- 13:25Speaker 4: I talked to him, and of course he naturally denies
- 13:27Speaker 4: all of this. Or his sons. He's got two twin sons.
- 13:29Speaker 4: They're both 15 years of age.
- 13:31Speaker 7: Maybe his son's doing it as a practical joke for
- 13:33Speaker 7: fun on Halloween.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Well, you know something? I'll say this.
- 13:36Speaker 5: I think the lady's making a good point about being
- 13:38Speaker 5: a practical joke.
- 13:39Speaker 6: Well, I will say that.
- 13:40Speaker 9: Sure, it's Halloween.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and kids do that. You understand that.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Kids do that.
- 13:44Speaker 7: I mean, I'm not a malicious person, and I've done
- 13:48Speaker 7: this to random houses. It's not.
- 13:52Speaker 4: They do it to places where they don't give you
- 13:53Speaker 4: no good treat, you know? No, sir. I've never given
- 13:55Speaker 4: out no popcorn bag or anything.
- 13:57Speaker 7: I don't think there is a person under... 16 years
- 14:00Speaker 7: old who understands trick-or-treat that if you don't get something
- 14:03Speaker 7: you like, you have to trick the person. It's not
- 14:05Speaker 7: like that, sir.
- 14:07Speaker 4: I'll say this, that I have been through an emotional
- 14:10Speaker 4: trauma and my family's been through an emotional trauma that
- 14:14Speaker 4: we're still trying to come to terms with.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Well, sir, I think maybe you and your wife have
- 14:18Speaker 7: been through an emotional trauma and maybe you've convinced your
- 14:20Speaker 7: children that this is emotional.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Uh-oh, car phone gone.
- 14:26Speaker 4: All gone. And she's about to get to a good
- 14:28Speaker 4: place where she can explain.
- 14:29Speaker 5: I know, but she's gone. The car phone went out.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Here is Newton on the Phil Henry Show.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Hello.
- 14:35Speaker 7: Yes.
- 14:37Speaker 8: You can't be serious. You can't take this personal. This
- 14:40Speaker 8: is just a random accident.
- 14:41Speaker 4: I've never, ever had no silly string.
- 14:43Speaker 6: It doesn't matter.
- 14:44Speaker 4: I've never had no silly string on my house.
- 14:47Speaker 8: These kids probably have never trick-or-treated at your house. They
- 14:51Speaker 8: came up, and they did this, and they took off
- 14:53Speaker 8: because they were doing it as a joke.
- 14:56Speaker 4: Let me say, practical jokes are not funny. There's nothing
- 14:58Speaker 4: funny about this. This is mean-spirited.
- 15:00Speaker 8: I'm not saying it's funny, but the kids are kids,
- 15:03Speaker 8: and they're going to think it's funny.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Why do you think kids put silly string on doors
- 15:07Speaker 5: and things? I mean, that's a rhetorical question.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. To be cruel, and I don't
- 15:12Speaker 4: think any kid did this. I think Bozinger did it.
- 15:14Speaker 4: I think one of his two sons did it. They're 15-year-olds.
- 15:16Speaker 4: I don't call them little boys anymore. Those are young men.
- 15:19Speaker 4: And I had, as I have mentioned, and I've tried
- 15:22Speaker 4: to make very clear, I've never given up one popcorn bag.
- 15:25Speaker 4: I've never given out one raisin box. I've never given
- 15:28Speaker 4: out no nut bag. And I ain't never given out
- 15:30Speaker 4: no fruit. All right? Only the top of the line
- 15:34Speaker 4: candy do I give out. And I get silly string.
- 15:38Speaker 8: If you think that your neighbor is the one who's
- 15:41Speaker 8: done this, he's an adult.
- 15:44Speaker 5: Well, the guy wouldn't admit to it.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I've never given out a poplar bag.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I know that. Okay, we've got to take a break here.
- 15:51Speaker 5: Phil Hendry Show at 1-800-449-8686.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Phil Hendry here.
- 15:55Speaker 5: The issue of vandalizing homes or trick-or-treat or whatever on Halloween,
- 16:00Speaker 5: people talk about this. You get your house. Like last year, Mr. Bozell,
- 16:04Speaker 5: I got Steve Bozell from Corona who's on the line
- 16:06Speaker 5: with us. His home was silly-stringed last night. Last year,
- 16:08Speaker 5: we had our candy stolen. That was at our front
- 16:12Speaker 5: door because we took the kids out, you know, to
- 16:16Speaker 5: go trick-or-treating.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 16:17Speaker 5: And when we came back, We left a big bowl
- 16:20Speaker 5: of candy basically with a sign that said, please take one.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Well, that was a big mistake because obviously we had
- 16:23Speaker 2: some kids.
- 16:24Speaker 4: They came by and somebody took it all.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Someone had taken it all. We had a little sign
- 16:29Speaker 5: that said, boo, you know, trying to get into the spirit.
- 16:32Speaker 5: And obviously a group of probably bigger kids with no
- 16:35Speaker 5: adults around came and dumped it into their bag.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I don't know that you can keep this from happening.
- 16:43Speaker 4: I understand, but I think what you're failing to hear
- 16:45Speaker 4: and what a lot of your listeners are failing to hear, sir,
- 16:47Speaker 4: is that while it may have happened to you and
- 16:50Speaker 4: it happens on occasion to other people, it has never,
- 16:52Speaker 4: ever happened to my home. And the reason why it's
- 16:55Speaker 4: never happened to my home is we don't give out
- 16:56Speaker 4: no bad treat. We give out only the finest, the
- 16:59Speaker 4: Reese's stick.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I know you've never done a Raisin Box.
- 17:02Speaker 4: We've never done a Raisin Box, and plus we get
- 17:05Speaker 4: into the spirit of it. And I think that what's
- 17:08Speaker 4: happened here is I think my family's gotten targeted. And
- 17:11Speaker 4: I just wonder what I've done wrong and what we
- 17:13Speaker 4: can do in the future to prevent something like this
- 17:15Speaker 4: from happening again because it has traumatized our home.
- 17:20Speaker 5: And do you hear there's a lot of people saying
- 17:21Speaker 5: that you shouldn't take this as personally as you are?
- 17:24Speaker 4: I'm working on that, but I'm also working on the
- 17:26Speaker 4: reality that it could either be Bill Bozinger lives next
- 17:30Speaker 4: door to me or his twin sons or somebody on
- 17:33Speaker 4: the street that obviously wants to send me a message.
- 17:36Speaker 5: All right, here is Tampa on the Phil Henry Show.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Hello. Hello.
- 17:41Speaker 6: Traumatized. He's traumatizing himself. I live across the street from
- 17:46Speaker 6: a middle school. This happens to me. I've lived here
- 17:48Speaker 6: for five years. October was my fifth year here, and
- 17:52Speaker 6: every year it happens. I don't take it personal. This
- 17:55Speaker 6: is the worst thing that happens to me all year.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Everything happens to you.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Thank God.
- 17:59Speaker 4: Every single year.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Every year.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Mister, if I were you, I'd start looking into that.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Why?
- 18:04Speaker 4: Because I'm sure not everybody's house on your street gets hit.
- 18:08Speaker 6: A bunch of houses on this side of the street
- 18:11Speaker 6: across from this school get hit every year.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Not every house, okay?
- 18:15Speaker 6: Not every house.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Okay, why is that?
- 18:18Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Well, I've got the answer because I believe you're getting
- 18:21Speaker 4: targeted somehow. And I don't know what kind of candy
- 18:25Speaker 4: you give out on Halloween. But, you know, these kids,
- 18:27Speaker 4: they don't want no Raisin Box.
- 18:29Speaker 6: Well, let's see.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I understand that. What do you give out on Halloween?
- 18:32Speaker 6: $ 10, 000, Reese's Cups, Junior Mints.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Junior Mints, Charmed. No, wrong.
- 18:36Speaker 6: Three Musketeers.
- 18:38Speaker 4: That's good.
- 18:38Speaker 6: Sugar Daddies.
- 18:39Speaker 4: That's wrong. Whoppers.
- 18:41Speaker 2: What was the one you didn't... It.
- 18:43Speaker 6: Doesn't have anything to do with it. You're taking it personal.
- 18:45Speaker 6: You've got this vendetta that you think that somebody's out
- 18:48Speaker 6: to get you, and you're wrong.
- 18:49Speaker 4: No one's out to get you.
- 18:51Speaker 6: You are traumatizing yourself. You are traumatizing your kids. You
- 18:54Speaker 6: are traumatizing your family, and you're making way too big
- 18:56Speaker 6: a deal out of what's going on. It's no big deal.
- 19:00Speaker 6: There are bigger issues in your life, in your family.
- 19:03Speaker 6: in the world than what you're talking about.
- 19:05Speaker 4: What do you want to say?
- 19:07Speaker 6: You're a big baby.
- 19:09Speaker 4: No, I've got two nephews, I'll tell you. You give
- 19:10Speaker 4: that junior mince, mister, you're asking for trouble.
- 19:13Speaker 6: You're a big baby.
- 19:14Speaker 4: No, no, I've got two nephews who tell you this.
- 19:17Speaker 4: You're a big baby. Do you want some cheese with
- 19:21Speaker 4: that wine? How are you qualified to diagnose my paranoia,
- 19:24Speaker 4: as you call it?
- 19:25Speaker 6: Wait a minute you just said it how are you
- 19:27Speaker 6: qualified paranoia no you are paranoid i didn't say that
- 19:30Speaker 6: you just diagnosed yourself you are paranoid you're probably laying
- 19:34Speaker 6: this on your kids and god forbid that they grow
- 19:36Speaker 6: up to be like you what are you telling the
- 19:38Speaker 6: kids way to.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Be no this guy called it paranoia i didn't call
- 19:41Speaker 4: it paranoia i said how he qualified to diagnose.
- 19:44Speaker 6: It you okay i didn't even say the word paranoia
- 19:47Speaker 6: you brought.
- 19:47Speaker 4: It up you most certainly did and I didn't. Unless
- 19:52Speaker 4: you get the message about junior mints. Which apparently you haven't, correct?
- 19:56Speaker 6: Go ahead.
- 19:56Speaker 4: You haven't gotten a message on that?
- 19:58Speaker 6: Go ahead.
- 19:58Speaker 2: What's the message on Junior Mints, that it's a bad candy?
- 20:01Speaker 4: It's the kind, one of those candies kids cannot stand.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 20:04Speaker 4: So you know what all kids like? I happen to
- 20:06Speaker 4: know what they hate.
- 20:07Speaker 6: It's obvious you don't because they did your house wrong.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Isn't that true?
- 20:11Speaker 4: That's the whole thing. It can't possibly be from a
- 20:13Speaker 4: candy that I'm giving out. There's something else going on.
- 20:14Speaker 4: I do my Halloween research.
- 20:15Speaker 6: Maybe it's because you're a paranoid schizophrenic.
- 20:18Speaker 4: There he goes again.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Maybe that's what it is.
- 20:20Speaker 4: There you go again. Trying to diagnose what you think
- 20:23Speaker 4: I've got a disease.
- 20:24Speaker 6: Anybody who's listening to you can tell that you are
- 20:28Speaker 6: definitely making much too much of a difference.
- 20:31Speaker 5: Is a kid going to get so angry at someone
- 20:32Speaker 5: that he's going to silly string the house because he's
- 20:34Speaker 5: got junior mints?
- 20:35Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 20:37Speaker 6: They do it because there's an opportunity to do it.
- 20:39Speaker 6: It doesn't matter who the person is. You know what
- 20:42Speaker 6: upset me in my house? I've been here for five
- 20:44Speaker 6: years when somebody kicked my door and stole all my stuff.
- 20:48Speaker 6: That's what upset me. That's the only thing that's happened
- 20:50Speaker 6: to me since I've been in my house that upset me.
- 20:51Speaker 4: That's going to happen. That's going to happen. What are
- 20:55Speaker 4: you talking about?
- 20:56Speaker 6: When somebody robbed my home.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Those things are going to happen.
- 21:01Speaker 6: Those things are going to happen. But a silly string
- 21:03Speaker 6: in your house, that's just the worst.
- 21:05Speaker 4: That's what you got insurance for, sir.
- 21:07Speaker 5: Okay?
- 21:09Speaker 4: Silly string.
- 21:09Speaker 6: Well, you got insurance for that, too.
- 21:11Speaker 4: No, I do not. That's a personal attack, okay? Wait
- 21:14Speaker 4: a minute.
- 21:14Speaker 5: The guy just said that.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Some guy just went into his.
- 21:16Speaker 6: Somebody doing damage to your home?
- 21:18Speaker 4: Somebody went into your home. You got insurance for that,
- 21:19Speaker 4: don't you? Yeah, of course I do. All right, okay.
- 21:22Speaker 4: So what's the big deal? You know that's going to happen.
- 21:25Speaker 6: You are nuts. You are nuts.
- 21:28Speaker 4: You know what?
- 21:28Speaker 6: You didn't spend enough time on the couch today because
- 21:32Speaker 6: you are nuts.
- 21:32Speaker 5: Well, I am interested to know, thanks for your call, sir,
- 21:34Speaker 5: what the doctor said to you.
- 21:36Speaker 4: The doctor told me that I should not take and
- 21:38Speaker 4: basically tell me what a lot of these people are saying,
- 21:40Speaker 4: not to take it personal, but I told him that
- 21:41Speaker 4: I was humiliated because they made me look like a fool. Okay,
- 21:45Speaker 4: and not everybody.
- 21:46Speaker 2: How are you made to look like a fool?
- 21:47Speaker 4: Let me just say that. Farmers insurance will not cover
- 21:50Speaker 4: Silly String on my house. They laughed when I called
- 21:53Speaker 4: them up. And I made the phone call this morning
- 21:56Speaker 4: at approximately 7.15 because I knew my agent was in.
- 21:59Speaker 4: And I said to my agent, got the name of Rick, listen,
- 22:04Speaker 4: you got to get over here because I got Silly
- 22:05Speaker 4: String last night. Now I want an assessment. I don't
- 22:08Speaker 4: know how quick you guys can cut a check.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Well, wait a second, man.
- 22:11Speaker 5: They ain't going to cover your pad for Silly String, okay?
- 22:15Speaker 4: Well, no, but I'm saying they will cover you to
- 22:17Speaker 4: have your home burglarized. So that's the point that I'm
- 22:20Speaker 4: trying to make, you know. You get your home burglarized,
- 22:22Speaker 4: you expect that because you have insurance for that. I
- 22:24Speaker 4: got my ass Silly String last night. You think Farmers
- 22:26Speaker 4: Insurance is going to cut me a check?
- 22:28Speaker 5: I would not expect them to, and I don't know
- 22:30Speaker 5: why you would make a claim like that, but I
- 22:31Speaker 5: will tell you this.
- 22:32Speaker 2: The doctor agrees with some of these callers. You're taking
- 22:34Speaker 2: it very, very personally, all right?
- 22:36Speaker 4: But I was targeted. It was my only house on
- 22:38Speaker 4: the block that got silly string last night. My ass
- 22:40Speaker 4: got silly string. I didn't see Bozinger's ass get silly string.
- 22:43Speaker 4: I didn't see anybody else's, sir. And that's the point
- 22:45Speaker 4: that I'm trying to make.
- 22:46Speaker 2: All right. Here is Wichita on a Phil Henry show.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Hello.
- 22:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 4: Hey, you know, he may not give out raisin boxes
- 22:54Speaker 4: or bags of popcorn, but he does give out the
- 22:57Speaker 4: most whining I've ever heard. And he's got to be
- 23:00Speaker 4: the biggest baby I've ever heard. Are you talking to me? Yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 4: What am I saying that doesn't resonate with every homeowner?
- 23:08Speaker 4: Are you on your own home? You bet. You do?
- 23:13Speaker 4: I find that hard to believe.
- 23:16Speaker 8: I find it hard to believe that a grown man
- 23:17Speaker 8: like you is such a baby.
- 23:19Speaker 2: What is your point, sir?
- 23:20Speaker 4: Well, you're just a baby.
- 23:21Speaker 3: You ought to quit your whining or go home and
- 23:23Speaker 3: cry to your mother.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Well, I'll tell you what. The minute you own your
- 23:26Speaker 4: own home, you let me know. Yeah, okay. Okay.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Here is Santa Barbara on the Phil Henry Show.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Hello.
- 23:32Speaker 6: Yeah, man, you got to get over this.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Are you eating right now? Are you eating right now?
- 23:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Okay, see you later. Swallow your freaking food before you
- 23:40Speaker 2: call this show.
- 23:41Speaker 5: 1-800-520-1-800-449-8686.
- 23:41Speaker 3: 1-800-449-8686.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Phil Henry's show here.
- 23:42Speaker 8: Mr.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Steve Bozell on the line from Corona, who is apparently,
- 23:44Speaker 5: and I got to tell you something right now.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I'm agreeing with a lot of these callers. You're distraught
- 23:57Speaker 2: and upset.
- 23:58Speaker 4: You're agreeing with them why, sir? Because of the fact
- 24:00Speaker 4: that I take it personal, that I find Halloween to
- 24:03Speaker 4: be an important holiday?
- 24:04Speaker 2: No, no, I'm agreeing with them that you're overreacting.
- 24:08Speaker 5: You are taking it personally, but you're overreacting to the
- 24:11Speaker 5: fact that you got silly-stringed.
- 24:12Speaker 4: My ass got silly-stringed. Nobody else's ass got silly-stringed. Now, Bozinger,
- 24:17Speaker 4: who lives next door to me, I confront him. I
- 24:19Speaker 4: asked him about that. He told me he did not.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Okay, you already asked him. He didn't do it. You
- 24:23Speaker 2: asked his two sons?
- 24:24Speaker 4: I asked. He's got twin sons, 15 years of age, right?
- 24:27Speaker 4: And he said that they had not done it. And
- 24:31Speaker 4: so I know he's lying to me, number one.
- 24:34Speaker 2: So you do suspect him?
- 24:36Speaker 4: That is correct. Now, I can do one of two things.
- 24:39Speaker 4: I can sue him, or I can certainly exact some
- 24:42Speaker 4: kind of recompense or retribution whereby it's even-steven, okay? And
- 24:48Speaker 4: I have advised him today that I know he did it,
- 24:53Speaker 4: And that I will silly string his ass at some
- 24:56Speaker 4: future date when he's not expecting it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Now, you've told this guy you're going to go silly
- 25:02Speaker 2: string his house.
- 25:03Speaker 4: I'm going to silly string his ass because I know
- 25:04Speaker 4: he did it. And he won't know when or where.
- 25:08Speaker 4: But I'm going to get him.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And what about the insurance claim that he's going to make?
- 25:13Speaker 4: Well, that's between him and his insurance company.
- 25:15Speaker 5: And when he gets his house silly string, he's going
- 25:17Speaker 5: to know that you did it.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And that's the difference between him and me. I'm a man.
- 25:19Speaker 4: He's not. And I can certainly stand up for myself
- 25:22Speaker 4: and say, I'm the man that did it.
- 25:23Speaker 5: All right, here's Longview on the Phil Henry Show.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Hello.
- 25:26Speaker 7: Hi.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I just wanted to say that it is absolutely a
- 25:30Speaker 3: random event that occurs not only on Halloween, but every
- 25:34Speaker 3: Friday and Saturday night.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Everybody's calling it random. Why do you call it random?
- 25:40Speaker 3: Because that's exactly what it is. It happens to you
- 25:42Speaker 3: one time in 13 years or whatever you said. That
- 25:45Speaker 3: means it's a random event. If it happens every year,
- 25:49Speaker 3: that means it's a bunch of kids having fun with you.
- 25:51Speaker 3: If it happens once every 13 years, that's just simply
- 25:54Speaker 3: a random event. No, no.
- 25:55Speaker 4: They only happen to my house on the street.
- 25:58Speaker 3: That's the whole point. That's what the word random means.
- 26:03Speaker 3: When I was a kid, I did this all the time.
- 26:05Speaker 3: We'd go and toilet paper everybody's houses. On Halloween, you
- 26:08Speaker 3: find the pumpkins and you smash them against the ground.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I mean, this happens all across America, and surely this
- 26:15Speaker 3: is a joke.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I had absolutely no reason to fear that my home
- 26:20Speaker 4: gets silly string on account of the fact that I've
- 26:22Speaker 4: said to you that my family and I have celebrated
- 26:24Speaker 4: Halloween together. to the true spirit of it. We dress
- 26:28Speaker 4: up in costume. We give the children great candy and everything.
- 26:31Speaker 4: We have three or four jack-o'-lanterns out. In other words,
- 26:33Speaker 4: we do our home up very, very beautifully.
- 26:35Speaker 3: You keep talking about the traditions.
- 26:37Speaker 4: That's exactly correct. Now what happens is I come to
- 26:41Speaker 4: the door. And I got silly string all over my door, okay?
- 26:45Speaker 3: Listen, you keep talking about you hand out great candy.
- 26:48Speaker 4: I'm not handing out no popcorn bags.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I didn't say that. You say you hand out great candy.
- 26:52Speaker 3: That's a tradition of Halloween. What you hand out is
- 26:54Speaker 3: a tradition of Halloween. Guess what another tradition of Halloween is?
- 26:57Speaker 3: Silly string, toilet paper, and good young fun.
- 27:01Speaker 4: That's all it is. That's what happens when you hand
- 27:04Speaker 4: out the popcorn bag. No, it doesn't.
- 27:06Speaker 2: It happens to everybody.
- 27:08Speaker 3: That's why it's a random event. It's unbelievable that you
- 27:10Speaker 3: would possibly take this personally.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Everybody is saying that they're going to silly string your
- 27:15Speaker 5: house whether you're giving out the best candy or the
- 27:17Speaker 5: worst candy.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Bull crap.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Bull crap?
- 27:19Speaker 4: That's exactly what I feel. I think you guys are
- 27:23Speaker 4: not telling me something.
- 27:24Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 27:25Speaker 4: What are you not telling me?
- 27:26Speaker 3: Do you think this is a personal conspiracy against you?
- 27:29Speaker 7: No.
- 27:29Speaker 4: Well, sir, when I'm the only house on the block
- 27:34Speaker 4: that gets his ass silly stringed, What do you think
- 27:36Speaker 4: about that?
- 27:37Speaker 3: I think that, like I said, it's nothing personal. You
- 27:40Speaker 3: keep going back and forth. One time you think it's
- 27:42Speaker 3: my next-door neighbor. It's probably his twins. It could be
- 27:45Speaker 3: this and that. And then next time you say, it's
- 27:47Speaker 3: only happened to me. It was the only.
- 27:49Speaker 4: One that did happen to me. It was the only one,
- 27:50Speaker 4: but I suspect it's both of your twins.
- 27:52Speaker 3: But if you suspect it's your neighbor, then you have
- 27:54Speaker 3: nothing to be paranoid about.
- 27:56Speaker 4: How do I know?
- 27:56Speaker 3: If he is simply jealous that on Halloween you decorate
- 27:59Speaker 3: and you do a little bit better than he does.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I saw that bastard laughing. How do I know the
- 28:02Speaker 4: twins didn't do it?
- 28:04Speaker 3: That's the whole point. What if they did? That should
- 28:07Speaker 3: put your mind at ease.
- 28:08Speaker 2: If you knew the twins did it, okay.
- 28:10Speaker 4: Well, to me, that's purposeful vandalizing of private property by
- 28:14Speaker 4: the twins.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Absolutely not.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Oh, well, sir, you and I disagree. I respectfully disagree
- 28:19Speaker 4: with you.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Did you ever toilet paper somebody's house as a kid?
- 28:22Speaker 4: No, sir, I did not. No, sir.
- 28:23Speaker 3: And so you think that anybody that does that is
- 28:26Speaker 3: purposely trying to terrorize somebody else?
- 28:28Speaker 4: I think there is some intimidation factor, yes.
- 28:30Speaker 5: The twins came over and silly stringed your door and
- 28:32Speaker 5: there's some intimidation.
- 28:34Speaker 4: I mean, well, that's why I'm going to get him back.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I'm getting him back.
- 28:37Speaker 3: How are you going to get these people back?
- 28:38Speaker 4: I'll silly string his ass.
- 28:40Speaker 3: You do that. That would, right there, that you have
- 28:43Speaker 3: become a vandalizer.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 28:45Speaker 5: You become the person that you don't want to be.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Thank you for your call this evening, sir. I'm going
- 28:49Speaker 5: to silly string Bozinger and the twins. That's the last,
- 28:52Speaker 5: the latest word we got on that.
- 28:54Speaker 4: 1-800-449-8686.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Phil Henry Show.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Mr.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Bozell, I want to ask you a question.
- 28:59Speaker 5: You say you've never given out any bad candy. You
- 29:01Speaker 5: don't know why your home was silly stringed. What do
- 29:03Speaker 5: you call bad candy? You mentioned popcorn balls.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I can tell you, Mr. Henry, because we do love
- 29:08Speaker 4: Halloween at our house, I can tell you the candies
- 29:10Speaker 4: that kids will not stand for. We don't give out
- 29:13Speaker 4: no mounds. We don't give out no Almond Joy and
- 29:15Speaker 4: none of that coconut because no kid is going to
- 29:18Speaker 4: stand for no coconut. We don't give out junior mints.
- 29:21Speaker 4: We don't give out what do you call them, peppermint patties.
- 29:25Speaker 4: I would rather strangle on my own spit than give
- 29:28Speaker 4: out no mounds, no almond joy, none of that.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Well, how do you know this? Because you guys have
- 29:32Speaker 2: researched the candy?
- 29:33Speaker 4: Because I just know what kids like. And I know
- 29:36Speaker 4: the kids love the Reese's stick and Reese's Pieces peanut
- 29:39Speaker 4: butter cup, the Milky Way. They love the Snickers. They
- 29:41Speaker 4: love the Now and Later. Now and Later is a
- 29:42Speaker 4: new one. But ain't no kid on earth is going
- 29:46Speaker 4: to stand there and allow you to put a peppermint
- 29:47Speaker 4: mint in his bag if he knows what it is
- 29:49Speaker 4: you're trying to pull off. And I ain't doing no
- 29:52Speaker 4: nut bag neither. Because I learned my lesson. We did
- 29:54Speaker 4: nut bags here about... Well, I think I was still
- 29:56Speaker 4: in Tennessee. We did nutbags. That was bad. You look
- 29:59Speaker 4: at the kids' faces. Now, that's the one time I
- 30:02Speaker 4: thought we would get our ass silly string. The year
- 30:04Speaker 4: my wife insisted on giving out nutbags. And I told her,
- 30:07Speaker 4: I said to her, and again, I don't want to...
- 30:09Speaker 4: I realize I'm sounding emotional.
- 30:10Speaker 5: You're sounding extremely emotional about something that is sounding very trivial.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Well, I want to make this point. I told my wife,
- 30:16Speaker 4: I'm asking you, please. You do a nutbag, our ass
- 30:19Speaker 4: gets silly string. Please don't do that. Now, I realize
- 30:22Speaker 4: it sounds stupid.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I realize it sounds very stupid.
- 30:27Speaker 4: But you have to understand how much we enjoy Halloween
- 30:29Speaker 4: and how much we're the only ones got silly string.
- 30:33Speaker 4: And I think that's been missed in a lot of
- 30:35Speaker 4: what we're talking about.
- 30:36Speaker 2: All right, Brayman on the Phil Henry Show.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Hello.
- 30:39Speaker 10: Hello.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Yes.
- 30:41Speaker 9: The deal about the candy, that is not true. I
- 30:44Speaker 9: have a 10-year-old little boy that happens to love peppermint
- 30:47Speaker 9: patties and the mounds and the coconut.
- 30:51Speaker 4: No way. Not a chance.
- 30:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 30:54Speaker 4: No, ma'am. He's being nice to you. They hate that
- 30:57Speaker 4: coconut crap.
- 30:58Speaker 9: No, he's not being nice because he'll go in the
- 31:01Speaker 9: store and that's what he picks is those junior men.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Well, I mean, your child's aberrant. I'm sure he's a
- 31:06Speaker 4: good kid, but he's just not the norm. And she
- 31:09Speaker 4: just didn't.
- 31:10Speaker 9: Well, he's raised in the country.
- 31:13Speaker 4: Well, maybe you like the coconut out in the country
- 31:15Speaker 4: or something like that because you don't have no coconut
- 31:17Speaker 4: trees out there. I don't know what it is, and
- 31:18Speaker 4: I'm not trying to say. But you give out a
- 31:20Speaker 4: damn peppermint patty, and you're asking for trouble.
- 31:23Speaker 9: It has nothing to do with the candy.
- 31:26Speaker 4: Well, ma'am, what do you know?
- 31:28Speaker 5: Well, what a lot of people are saying, it has
- 31:30Speaker 5: to do with the fact it was a random event.
- 31:31Speaker 4: Not a random event when I'm the only guy on
- 31:33Speaker 4: the street that got it.
- 31:34Speaker 8: Well, okay.
- 31:34Speaker 4: And I know Bozinger gives out peppermint patties. He didn't
- 31:36Speaker 4: get no silly string. He gave out peppermint patty. My
- 31:39Speaker 4: kid went over there one year. He got one of
- 31:41Speaker 4: those popcorn balls. God damn.
- 31:44Speaker 9: You've got to be putting me on with that. It's
- 31:46Speaker 9: about like somebody toilet papering a house. Here in Cobb
- 31:49Speaker 9: County a couple of years ago, a couple of girls
- 31:51Speaker 9: toilet papered a house. Well, the gentleman pulled up in
- 31:55Speaker 9: his driveway. Well, he decided to chase the girls. The
- 31:58Speaker 9: girls went around the curve. Two of them are dead.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Well, now, see, that's what you get for toilet papering
- 32:04Speaker 4: a house. What are you talking about? The girls hadn't
- 32:09Speaker 4: been there, man. That wouldn't have happened. I bet you
- 32:10Speaker 4: he got good candy, too.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Look, she just said the two girls are dead, okay?
- 32:16Speaker 9: It has nothing to do with the candy.
- 32:19Speaker 5: It has to do with it was just a, you know,
- 32:21Speaker 5: they decided.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Go ahead, tell me why.
- 32:22Speaker 2: It was just.
- 32:24Speaker 9: A random act.
- 32:25Speaker 3: I mean, why did the.
- 32:26Speaker 9: Girls toilet paper the house?
- 32:27Speaker 4: What do you give out on Halloween?
- 32:30Speaker 9: I give out all kinds of different things.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Like what?
- 32:33Speaker 9: The now or later.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Kids love those.
- 32:36Speaker 9: Yes, I do give out junior men.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Sorry, bad mistake. Bad mistake. You do that, you're asking
- 32:42Speaker 4: for trouble. They're little kids.
- 32:45Speaker 2: They're little kids.
- 32:46Speaker 9: They get a lot of candy on Halloween.
- 32:48Speaker 2: The little tiny kids.
- 32:49Speaker 4: No, but you get your kid down 9, 10, 11.
- 32:50Speaker 9: One Junior Mint is not going to make a difference.
- 32:52Speaker 4: You lay a Junior Mint in a kid's bag, and
- 32:55Speaker 4: all hell's going to break loose. Now, I know. I've
- 32:59Speaker 4: seen it happen to a lot of very dear friends
- 33:01Speaker 4: of mine. We lost a couple up the street. I
- 33:04Speaker 4: forget when this was. It was about 19, probably about 19,
- 33:08Speaker 4: just when I moved in, 94. We lost a couple
- 33:10Speaker 4: up the street. You know what a popcorn ball tastes.
- 33:14Speaker 7: Like?
- 33:14Speaker 4: It tastes like real balls, if I may be so
- 33:18Speaker 4: bold as to say.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Okay, I got that. What do you mean you lost
- 33:21Speaker 2: a couple up the street?
- 33:22Speaker 4: Yes, we did.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Cedar City on the Phil Henry Show.
- 33:25Speaker 4: Hello.
- 33:25Speaker 8: Hi.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Yes.
- 33:28Speaker 10: Did you clean up your silly string?
- 33:31Speaker 4: What?
- 33:31Speaker 10: Have you cleaned up your silly string?
- 33:33Speaker 4: I don't understand your question.
- 33:35Speaker 10: What's not to understand? Did you clean up the silly string?
- 33:40Speaker 4: My attorneys told me to watch what I say.
- 33:43Speaker 10: Oh, your attorneys told you?
- 33:44Speaker 4: Okay.
- 33:44Speaker 6: You're pathetic.
- 33:45Speaker 10: Okay, it's silly string. Take a hose to it. That's
- 33:48Speaker 10: all you've got to do. Take a hose to your door.
- 33:51Speaker 10: And for your information, this Halloween, we gave out Junior Mints,
- 33:55Speaker 10: thank you, in the little tiny boxes. And guess what?
- 33:59Speaker 10: We did not give silly string. We did not get
- 34:01Speaker 10: toilet paper. We did not get eggs or anything else.
- 34:04Speaker 10: We've got little tiny kids from what? four up until
- 34:09Speaker 10: 19 years old coming to our door. And, yes, we
- 34:13Speaker 10: gave out Junior Mints. We gave out all kinds of junk.
- 34:15Speaker 10: But you know what? We didn't get egg. We didn't
- 34:17Speaker 10: get silly string. Nothing happened.
- 34:18Speaker 4: They'll give you a reprieve, but next year you try
- 34:20Speaker 4: to pull that.
- 34:21Speaker 8: You need help.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Why do I need help, ma'am?
- 34:23Speaker 6: What is the big deal.
- 34:24Speaker 10: About silly string?
- 34:25Speaker 6: God, it washes off.
- 34:27Speaker 10: Take your lazy ass out there and wash your door.
- 34:30Speaker 4: First of all, ma'am, I'm going to ignore that, but
- 34:32Speaker 4: first of all, we have brand-new oak doors, beveled glass,
- 34:35Speaker 4: beveled glass. You understand what I'm talking about, don't you? Oh,
- 34:39Speaker 4: you think that's funny? In a way.
- 34:40Speaker 10: You know, I spent $ 10, 000 in the front.
- 34:41Speaker 4: Of our house just in the doors alone. And you're
- 34:47Speaker 4: telling me to take my, quote, lazy ass out there
- 34:50Speaker 4: and hose it off?
- 34:51Speaker 10: Yeah, if you cared about your $ 10, 000 doors, your $ 10, 000 doors,
- 34:55Speaker 10: you would go out there and wash them off.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Well, lady, you're the one giving out Junior Mints. You're
- 35:00Speaker 4: the one playing Russian roulette, not me, okay?
- 35:02Speaker 10: Russian roulette? I've been doing it forever.
- 35:04Speaker 4: You know what, ma'am?
- 35:04Speaker 10: Junior Mints, ass.
- 35:08Speaker 4: What's the difference? What's the difference?
- 35:09Speaker 10: Would you rather it be silly string that they did
- 35:13Speaker 10: to your front door? Or seriously, would you rather have
- 35:15Speaker 10: them egg your windows, bust your windows out, or egg
- 35:19Speaker 10: your vehicles, which is.
- 35:21Speaker 3: Not good for your car?
- 35:22Speaker 4: It would be more honest.
- 35:23Speaker 6: More honest?
- 35:24Speaker 4: It would be much more. I'd respect that. I would
- 35:27Speaker 4: respect that.
- 35:27Speaker 2: If they busted out the windows in your car.
- 35:29Speaker 10: That's windows that you've got to replace in your house.
- 35:33Speaker 10: And you're whining and crying over some stupid silly string?
