A suspect has finally been charged in connection with the devastating Pickett Fire of August 2025 — Juan Luis Gutierrez Marfil, a 45-year-old from Napa, faces felony charges for recklessly starting the blaze that scorched over 6,800 acres, destroyed five buildings, and caused more than $60 million in agricultural damage. The fire took 17 days to contain and left a massive economic wound to Napa’s wine country. Marfil is set to appear in court on September 9th as authorities move forward with legal proceedings.
