Survivors Fight to Protect Bessborough Site
Survivors of the Bessborough mother and baby home in Cork are ready to chain themselves to construction equipment to stop a planned 140-apartment development on the site, after Cork City Council’s approval was appealed. Over 900 children died there between 1922 and 1998, with hundreds more unaccounted for — and no thorough search has ever been done.
