- 2:58McCall Properties spent more than a decade planning
- 3:00a dramatic remake of a former courthouse and
- 3:04jail tower in Cambridge. After gutting the building,
- 3:08knocking off the top several floors, and adjusting
- 3:10the ground level to be far warmer to the surrounding
- 3:13neighborhood than the previous judicial building,

- 3:21stream NBC 10 Boston News for free 24 hours a
- 3:25day, 7 days a week, wherever you are. Now onto
- 3:33sports. For the first time in history, the reigning
- 3:37champions of South America and Europe will meet
- 3:40for the World Cup title as Argentina and Spain
- 3:43square off for the final on Sunday. Spain boasts
- 3:47the best defense, allowing only one goal in seven
- 3:51matches, while Lionel Messi is chasing the golden
- 3:54boot with eight goals and four assists. Argentina
- 3:58has scored nine goals and Spain has scored 11
- 4:01during the tournament. Spain's strength lies
- 4:04in possession, with Rodríguez preventing counter
- 4:07-attacks, while Oyarzabal and Moreno have combined
- 4:10for seven goals. Argentina's attack heavily relies
- 4:14on Messi's magic. Predicted lineups include Unai
- 4:19Simon for Spain and Emiliano Martinez for Argentina.
- 4:24The match will take place on July 19th at 3 p
- 4:26.m. Eastern Time at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford,
- 4:30New Jersey. In local sports, the Red Sox are
- 4:34rolling. After sitting 14 games under .500 in
- 4:38late June, Boston is 1 -9 straight heading into
- 4:41this afternoon's matchup with Tampa Bay at Fenway.
- 4:46First pitch is 135 against the Rays with Jake
- 4:50Bennett on the mound facing Griffin Jacks. The
- 4:54real story here is the pitching dominance. Since
- 4:58early May, the Sox rotations posted the lowest
- 5:01error in baseball at 3 .22. That's impressive
- 5:05considering they've battled injuries to Crochet,
- 5:09Suarez, Gray and others. Spot starters like Bennett.
- 5:13Patent Hall and Eduardo Rivera have stepped up
- 5:17and kept that momentum rolling. The rotation's
- 5:20on pace for its fifth -best season since 1975.
- 5:25And there's plenty of fuel for today's game.
- 5:29This team's fighting back into wild -card contention,
- 5:32and they've got the pitching to do it. In top

- 6:35bets against SpaceX, driving bearish positioning
- 6:38to nearly one -third of the company's public
- 6:41float as the struggling stock hovers below its
- 6:44initial public offering price. About 185 million
- 6:48SpaceX shares are now sold short, representing
- 6:52roughly 29 % of the company's publicly tradable
- 6:55float and about $25 billion in bearish wagers,
- 7:00according to S3Partners. The position has ballooned
- 7:04from an estimated 40 million shares, or roughly
- 7:075 % to 7 % of the float, just three weeks ago.

- 8:34back to the show. Let's talk tech. San Francisco
- 8:40Mayor Daniel Lurie is advocating for tougher
- 8:43rules following a significant traffic jam caused
- 8:46by Waymo's robotaxis. The mayor has urged state
- 8:50regulators to enhance regulations for autonomous
- 8:53vehicles. after these robo -taxes became immobilized
- 8:57in heavy July 4th traffic, exacerbating gridlock.
- 9:02In a letter to the State Department of Transportation,
- 9:05Lurie highlighted previous incidents that showcased
- 9:08the inadequacies of California's current regulatory
- 9:11framework. He proposed that manufacturers demonstrate
- 9:14four core operational capabilities to prevent
- 9:18future disruptions. including real -time adjustments
- 9:21to routes and sharing operational data with local
- 9:25agencies. Waymo operates approximately 1 ,000
- 9:29robotaxis in the Bay Area and completes over
- 9:32500 ,000 paid rides weekly. And in entertainment
- 9:39news, one of the biggest blockbusters of 1996,
- 9:44Independence Day, told the story of an alien
- 9:47invasion of planet Earth. resulting in the mass
- 9:50destruction of several cities, which won the
- 9:52film the Best Visual Effects Oscar. While many
- 9:56have tried to replicate its formula, including
- 9:58director Roland Emmerich, none have succeeded
- 10:01like the original. A key reason is that Independence
- 10:05Day focused on the characters, making viewers
- 10:08invested in their stories. Later films, however,
- 10:12celebrated destruction without addressing the
- 10:14tragic implications, failing to capture the core
- 10:17emotional impact. Disaster films should not exploit
- 10:21massive casualties as a selling point. Well,
- 10:25all righty folks, it's time for the quote of
- 10:28the day. And today, our quote comes from the
- 10:32American author and humorist, Mark Twain. And
- 10:36he said, the secret of getting ahead is getting
- 10:39started, emphasizing the importance of taking
- 10:42the first step in any endeavor to overcome inertia
- 10:45and begin the journey towards success. And that's
- 10:50a wrap for this morning. You can check out our
- 10:53Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok for some captivating
