- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous podcast. Today it
- 0:09Speaker 2: is just me, well not just me. Ben isn't here,
- 0:12Speaker 2: but I am joined by one of Bachelor Nation's most
- 0:16Speaker 2: famous members, Tyler Cameron. Tyler, You're not really just a
- 0:21Speaker 2: Bachelor alum anymore.
- 0:22Speaker 3: You are an alum.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Of so many shows. You are you know, Special Forces
- 0:28Speaker 2: Master Winner than you, you have Dancing with you had
- 0:33Speaker 2: the Dirty Dancing Show, and you're runner up on the
- 0:35Speaker 2: Dancing Show. I was see they couldn't have made you
- 0:39Speaker 2: the winner because you already have too much Swayze to you, Like,
- 0:43Speaker 2: do you get that often that like you look like
- 0:46Speaker 2: it you could be a young Patrick Swayzey.
- 0:48Speaker 4: I got a little bit of of that, especially during
- 0:50Speaker 4: that show. There's a lot of the comparisons, but I
- 0:54Speaker 4: mean it's honor. He is one just the most handsomest
- 0:58Speaker 4: and a stud and great looking and also just such
- 1:01Speaker 4: a talent, you know, watching his movie and Roadhouse, watching
- 1:04Speaker 4: Tardie Dancing and watching Point Break like, he is just
- 1:06Speaker 4: incredible and it was cool to try and be Johnny,
- 1:11Speaker 4: you know.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah, He's truly just a legend and someone that I
- 1:16Speaker 2: feel like women and men both idolize yes and.
- 1:21Speaker 4: The exactly like men love him, women love him like
- 1:24Speaker 4: he is easy to put me what you want to
- 1:27Speaker 4: be in that world.
- 1:28Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:29Speaker 3: And now you have a new show.
- 1:30Speaker 2: It's called Oh my Gosh, it's Going Home with Tyler Cameron.
- 1:37Speaker 2: And this is the first time where it's truly your show.
- 1:43Speaker 2: So tell everyone what it's about, Little Little elevator synopsis.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I'm excited going Home with Tyler Cameron. Essentially, you are
- 1:51Speaker 4: coming home with me. You are going to my house,
- 1:55Speaker 4: my hometown, meet my family, meet my friend, and see me,
- 2:00Speaker 4: you know, see me dive into this construction career that
- 2:03Speaker 4: I've been going after for the last probably two three
- 2:06Speaker 4: years really since kind of says COVID happened, and you
- 2:10Speaker 4: guys kind of get you know, the view of what
- 2:13Speaker 4: it's like, and you're gonna see I'm not perfect, I'm
- 2:16Speaker 4: gonna mess up. I'm going I'm gonna learn, You're gonna
- 2:19Speaker 4: see me screw up, and I'm gonna see me grow
- 2:22Speaker 4: from it. And I wanted, like, like when I was
- 2:25Speaker 4: talking to production, I was like, guys, I want this
- 2:27Speaker 4: to be real.
- 2:27Speaker 5: I want us to be raw.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I don't want it to be perfect like you see
- 2:31Speaker 4: a lot of these other home shows.
- 2:32Speaker 5: I want people to see my mistakes.
- 2:33Speaker 4: So I'm I'm learning, I'm growing, and I'm just like
- 2:36Speaker 4: every other person going into a home and trying to
- 2:38Speaker 4: renovate and try and make it better. And I think
- 2:40Speaker 4: that comes across and I'm excited for this show to
- 2:43Speaker 4: come out and people to see that story.
- 2:47Speaker 2: When you were last on our podcast, you just did
- 2:49Speaker 2: an interview with Ben. I was basically on maternity leave,
- 2:52Speaker 2: and I you know, Ben and I will be honest,
- 2:54Speaker 2: we don't always listen to the interviews that each other
- 2:57Speaker 2: do back, but with you, I really wanted to and
- 3:00Speaker 2: I love what you were talking about. You're like, you know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: I got off the show. It was all sparkle and
- 3:06Speaker 2: limelight and Hollywood, and I think it was just around
- 3:09Speaker 2: that time, especially given the timeline that you just gave
- 3:11Speaker 2: us that you were just like, I need to ground
- 3:13Speaker 2: myself again. And I feel like this show is going
- 3:17Speaker 2: to display what you've been doing, because you have been
- 3:21Speaker 2: able to be very involved with media, but also you're
- 3:23Speaker 2: doing this, so you kind of have You're a Hannah
- 3:25Speaker 2: Montana Tyler.
- 3:27Speaker 4: It's funny said because we always joke around about it,
- 3:29Speaker 4: Like I literally I love it because I get to
- 3:31Speaker 4: live like this grungey construction life. Like I'm wearing beat
- 3:36Speaker 4: up work boots and you know, I got clothes that
- 3:41Speaker 4: will have stands in them forever now, and that's my
- 3:43Speaker 4: wardrobe here in town.
- 3:44Speaker 5: And I love it.
- 3:44Speaker 4: And and then when I go to New York, it's
- 3:46Speaker 4: like we dress up, we look nice, we go out
- 3:49Speaker 4: and we do nice things, and so it's like the
- 3:52Speaker 4: best of both worlds.
- 3:53Speaker 3: The best of both worlds.
- 3:55Speaker 5: Exactly exactly, So it's great. I love what I do.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I love being in the space, and honestly that nothing
- 4:06Speaker 4: has made me feel more fulfilled and happier than being
- 4:10Speaker 4: home and doing these and starting these businesses and being around.
- 4:14Speaker 5: The friends I grew up with.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Like we get we have great friends from the show,
- 4:19Speaker 4: but I got better friends back at home, and so
- 4:22Speaker 4: I've always liked to stick with my people.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Well, you have your friends and your family involved with
- 4:28Speaker 2: the show, your dad, your two brothers, and then your
- 4:31Speaker 2: best friend is his name Ryan or Rob?
- 4:34Speaker 5: Rob?
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Rob, So Rob's involved. You basically have to convince
- 4:39Speaker 2: Rob to move to Jupiter, Florida, leave his home base
- 4:43Speaker 2: in Georgia to be part of your construction company Image one.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Can you give us a little teaser as how that's.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Going to go.
- 4:51Speaker 4: It's tough, you know, Rob has he's got a kid
- 4:56Speaker 4: who's entering high school, and he's got a beautiful daughter
- 4:59Speaker 4: who he was in kindergarten, you know, and having him
- 5:04Speaker 4: down here like it's tough because he's missing you know,
- 5:07Speaker 4: he missed his daughters like first basketball games, and he
- 5:11Speaker 4: missed some of his sons you know, sports and stuff
- 5:13Speaker 4: like that. And that's hard for any father, I'd imagine.
- 5:17Speaker 4: And so my whole thing was like, man, let's bring
- 5:20Speaker 4: the whole family down here. Let's let's go after this
- 5:22Speaker 4: together and see what we can do. And it just
- 5:24Speaker 4: kind of like a you know, trial to see will
- 5:28Speaker 4: he won't he bring his family down and try and
- 5:31Speaker 4: make something more out of this.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And what about your brothers? What were they doing before
- 5:35Speaker 2: you're trying to get them involved with this.
- 5:37Speaker 5: So my one brother's in the army, there's no getting
- 5:41Speaker 5: him involved.
- 5:41Speaker 4: He loves what he's doing. He's and he you know,
- 5:45Speaker 4: he loves where he's at. My other brother, uh he he.
- 5:51Speaker 4: We tried it, and you guys will see we worked
- 5:53Speaker 4: all together, but you know, he's you'll see more about
- 5:56Speaker 4: us and how we work together and how that goes
- 5:59Speaker 4: in the show.
- 6:00Speaker 5: But he's a firefighter.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Now okay, great, Well you make clear during the first
- 6:05Speaker 2: episode you're like, Dad, I know that you are the
- 6:08Speaker 2: experienced one with construction, you're a general contractor, but you
- 6:11Speaker 2: are not part of my company.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Why was that?
- 6:15Speaker 2: Is he just retired or you were like Dad, let's
- 6:17Speaker 2: not mix family like dad and son and this.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Yeah. I love my pops.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I've tried, I've worked, I have products I do do
- 6:24Speaker 4: with him, you know. But I'd love to do my
- 6:29Speaker 4: own thing, you know, and I love to you know.
- 6:31Speaker 4: Part of me wants to put my dad in a
- 6:33Speaker 4: position where like, hey, Pops, like I just want you
- 6:36Speaker 4: to come around and hang out, yeah, and and help
- 6:39Speaker 4: me if you can hand and I want I won't
- 6:41Speaker 4: put my pops at ease, you know. And he's worked
- 6:43Speaker 4: so hard for us for so many years, and he's
- 6:45Speaker 4: and he probably work till he dies just because he
- 6:47Speaker 4: loves doing it. But part of me wants to prove
- 6:49Speaker 4: to him that I can do this on my own.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I don't need you to hold my hand. And as
- 6:54Speaker 4: a parent, I think you'll see it's hard for him
- 6:56Speaker 4: to let go because he wants to be sold all
- 7:00Speaker 4: my life, you know. But it's it's tough. We've definitely
- 7:05Speaker 4: had some blowouts. We've had some great times, but working
- 7:09Speaker 4: with family and friends can be very, very tough. Everyone says,
- 7:12Speaker 4: don't do it. And when everyone tells me don't do it,
- 7:15Speaker 4: I always got to see for myself.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta play out Devil's advocate there.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Well, as part of the show, you are going to
- 7:24Speaker 2: renovate your mom's house. Now, your mom passed away four
- 7:27Speaker 2: years ago. I can't believe it's been four years. That's
- 7:30Speaker 2: got to be the most emotional thing. How and why
- 7:33Speaker 2: did you decide to renovate it and then tell me
- 7:37Speaker 2: how emotional it was to just change parts of her house?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Well, I actually the real backstory who it all is?
- 7:46Speaker 4: So a week before my mother passed, my dad was
- 7:49Speaker 4: handing her like the documents of the house, like it
- 7:53Speaker 4: is finally paid and clear. This is your house, you know,
- 7:59Speaker 4: and it's always been a goal of his and he
- 8:02Speaker 4: made that happen. And then my whole thing was you
- 8:05Speaker 4: got the house now I could renovate it for her,
- 8:07Speaker 4: And I was flying in I was flying home on
- 8:11Speaker 4: the twenty eighth. Who shoot the is the reel which
- 8:14Speaker 4: is like what you shoot shoot the shell the show,
- 8:16Speaker 4: And she was supposed to be a big part of it,
- 8:18Speaker 4: and then her accident happened at twenty seventh, so then
- 8:20Speaker 4: we had to postpone the shoot, postpone everything. Then COVID
- 8:24Speaker 4: happened right after that. So then this is a real
- 8:26Speaker 4: happened like way way after that.
- 8:29Speaker 2: You know, this is a real for which show.
- 8:32Speaker 5: For this construction show?
- 8:34Speaker 2: No way, So this was has been the works for
- 8:37Speaker 2: over four years.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Yeah, oh wow.
- 8:40Speaker 2: So this was like an opportunity that you were you
- 8:43Speaker 2: had gotten soon after The Bachelor I rapped.
- 8:46Speaker 4: M and so we were so then so then you know,
- 8:51Speaker 4: my mom's accident happens, Well yeah, accidently we can say
- 8:56Speaker 4: happens and then and then COVID happens right after it,
- 9:00Speaker 4: and so we can't film anything, you know, And and
- 9:03Speaker 4: so me and my agent were like, you know, like
- 9:07Speaker 4: what do we do?
- 9:07Speaker 5: You know?
- 9:08Speaker 4: And we ended up me and my buddy shot something,
- 9:11Speaker 4: you know, and we shot together. We put it together.
- 9:13Speaker 4: That's how we sold it, you know. But she was
- 9:17Speaker 4: supposed to be a part of it. Every step of
- 9:19Speaker 4: the way, and she she was supposed to be that
- 9:22Speaker 4: realer to help me find my house, is to help
- 9:23Speaker 4: me find my next projects and be a huge part
- 9:26Speaker 4: of the show. And the last you know part of
- 9:29Speaker 4: the show was I was always going to surprise her
- 9:31Speaker 4: with her own home renovation because her house, her house
- 9:34Speaker 4: needed it so badly. So I mean, you'll see, it
- 9:38Speaker 4: was very emotional at the end to finish up her house.
- 9:44Speaker 4: I was always excited to do it, and we were
- 9:45Speaker 4: doing that was so amazing, so like excited and thrilled
- 9:48Speaker 4: because such great change was happening and this needed to
- 9:50Speaker 4: happen for many many years. And then to get to
- 9:54Speaker 4: that point when I'm supposed to be handing her the
- 9:57Speaker 4: keys to her house, you know they you know, that's
- 10:02Speaker 4: when I got emotion. I was like, damn, like she
- 10:04Speaker 4: should be here with us right now and enjoy this.
- 10:06Speaker 4: This is for her, and for that to not happen,
- 10:09Speaker 4: that was heartbreaking. But to share it with my brothers
- 10:12Speaker 4: and to share it with my dad and everyone has
- 10:15Speaker 4: still made it special.
- 10:16Speaker 2: So who's going to have the house now?
- 10:19Speaker 4: So I lived in it right afterwards and then and
- 10:23Speaker 4: it was such an amazing house, and I was like
- 10:26Speaker 4: I can never sit still, Ashley, and I was living
- 10:29Speaker 4: in it, and I was singing to myself, like this
- 10:33Speaker 4: isn't right.
- 10:34Speaker 5: You know.
- 10:34Speaker 4: I put a bunch of money up in to make
- 10:36Speaker 4: this house right, me and my dad did, and to
- 10:38Speaker 4: do it for ourselves and my brothers. But I didn't
- 10:42Speaker 4: feel right living in it, and so I decided I
- 10:45Speaker 4: wanted to turn this into a rental and share it
- 10:48Speaker 4: with everybody.
- 10:48Speaker 5: And I turned into an Airbnb.
- 10:51Speaker 4: And what's great about that is now, like it's kind
- 10:54Speaker 4: of like the gift. It's like the gift that keeps
- 10:56Speaker 4: on giving for mom, because you know, it's it's booked,
- 10:59Speaker 4: it's busy, it's rented, and my brothers are able to
- 11:01Speaker 4: make some money off a bit. But one day maybe
- 11:04Speaker 4: it becomes one of their first homes for their family
- 11:07Speaker 4: when they have a kid. You know, I would say,
- 11:08Speaker 4: like when you all have a kid and need a home,
- 11:10Speaker 4: like this is here for you guys.
- 11:12Speaker 2: You know, Oh that's fantastic. I love that idea. I
- 11:15Speaker 2: love that you kept it, you know, so like you're
- 11:17Speaker 2: still the owner, but yeah, it's shared in that like
- 11:21Speaker 2: you could always go there if.
- 11:23Speaker 4: You need exactly that'll be a house that will forever
- 11:25Speaker 4: cherish our whole lives. So I don't think you'll never
- 11:29Speaker 4: be able to get that out of our hands forever,
- 11:32Speaker 4: because like that's where thirty one years of our lives
- 11:36Speaker 4: has been a part of. You know, I lived on
- 11:38Speaker 4: I haven't lived there all thirty one years, but we
- 11:40Speaker 4: lived on three different houses in that neighborhood my whole life.
- 11:43Speaker 5: But we've always kept that house, you know.
- 11:45Speaker 4: And when the market crash and we lost everything, we
- 11:48Speaker 4: moved back to that house, you know, And so that
- 11:52Speaker 4: home has you know, I had so many tears, so much,
- 11:55Speaker 4: so much joy and so much pain everything, you know,
- 12:00Speaker 4: so to finally make it something special again. And honestly,
- 12:04Speaker 4: like when my mom lived there, it was a home.
- 12:06Speaker 4: And when she was gone, like everyone kind of saw,
- 12:08Speaker 4: like during quarantine, what the house turned into because everyone
- 12:11Speaker 4: was watching.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Whenever I watched Quarantine crew house.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Yes, like that was a quarantine crew house and they
- 12:17Speaker 4: saw all kind of disaster. Everyone would be talking to me,
- 12:20Speaker 4: clean up your house, fix this, fix that. I'm like, ah,
- 12:22Speaker 4: one day, not right now. And then I turned to
- 12:24Speaker 4: a frat house basically did and now it's back to
- 12:29Speaker 4: being a home and it's beautiful and we maintain it
- 12:31Speaker 4: and we you know, it's well kept now and uh
- 12:34Speaker 4: it's it's like our pride and joy.
- 12:46Speaker 2: That was four years ago, the quarantine crew house and
- 12:49Speaker 2: how we all watched, how you guys spent your time there.
- 12:53Speaker 2: What do you look back and think about about that, Tyler,
- 12:57Speaker 2: that version of you, oh.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Man, just the careless, care free wild times that like
- 13:04Speaker 4: there was no responsibility, Like we just had to sit
- 13:06Speaker 4: in the house and hang It felt like summer camp,
- 13:07Speaker 4: you know. We just sat in the house and like,
- 13:09Speaker 4: I know, it wasn't so great for others and it
- 13:12Speaker 4: was tragic time, you know, but like I think about
- 13:15Speaker 4: that time like it was me, Matt, Hannah, you know,
- 13:20Speaker 4: Brown Bear, Katie Doule, like some of my greatest friends
- 13:24Speaker 4: all in the house and we just hung out and
- 13:26Speaker 4: just were with each other for months and months and months,
- 13:29Speaker 4: and it was you know, it was all honestly, it
- 13:32Speaker 4: was healing because that was right my mom passed away
- 13:35Speaker 4: with him like a week and a half, two weeks,
- 13:38Speaker 4: and so to be there and to have everyone around us,
- 13:41Speaker 4: it was like the best thing that could have ever happened.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Instead of like going back to New York City or
- 13:46Speaker 4: doing anything like that.
- 13:47Speaker 2: So what happened when it was over, you know and
- 13:52Speaker 2: we could all kind of live normal lives again, did
- 13:54Speaker 2: you have like a jarring transition act?
- 13:58Speaker 5: No?
- 13:59Speaker 4: I think so I got I got a girlfriend over
- 14:01Speaker 4: quarantine and uh and and she was a South Florida girl,
- 14:05Speaker 4: and so we were always kind of in that house
- 14:08Speaker 4: and hanging in that house. And she always gave me
- 14:10Speaker 4: crap like I ain't ever moving into this house the
- 14:12Speaker 4: way it looks, you know, And I was like, what
- 14:15Speaker 4: do you mean, I'll just put a carpet over there
- 14:16Speaker 4: and you know, hang some drapes over here, and she
- 14:20Speaker 4: was like no, no, no, And looking back, I don't
- 14:23Speaker 4: blame her. That house was a wreck, you know. I
- 14:28Speaker 4: mean there was water spots everywhere, mold everywhere.
- 14:30Speaker 5: It wasn't safe.
- 14:33Speaker 4: So, you know, I kind of at that point in time, though,
- 14:37Speaker 4: I was like, I'm afore I'm here. I already had
- 14:40Speaker 4: a couple of restaurants that I got involved with here
- 14:43Speaker 4: in Florida, and I already had two properties that we
- 14:46Speaker 4: were building houses on in Florida. So I was like,
- 14:48Speaker 4: I'll just be here, and COVID changed the game, like
- 14:50Speaker 4: I don't have to be in New York or LA.
- 14:52Speaker 4: For all these castings and meetings, we can hop on
- 14:53Speaker 4: a zoom and I can be I can be there
- 14:56Speaker 4: in the day.
- 14:57Speaker 5: You know.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Yeah, So when you doing the renovations on the house,
- 15:01Speaker 2: did you make it exactly what you would imagine your
- 15:05Speaker 2: mom would want to see, like the details and all
- 15:07Speaker 2: of that, like, but architecturally, architecturally.
- 15:12Speaker 4: It is I think it would be above and beyond
- 15:16Speaker 4: what my mom would want it because my mom she
- 15:18Speaker 4: has like that, you know, like the cheesy nautical yeah
- 15:22Speaker 4: thing that everyone does. My mom definitely falls in that category.
- 15:26Speaker 4: So we would have had to be like, Mom, that's
- 15:28Speaker 4: great and all, but we're going to do this special,
- 15:30Speaker 4: make it really really nice, because I mean this thing
- 15:32Speaker 4: is beautiful. I mean this is something that you know,
- 15:35Speaker 4: we bring clients to they see, you know, we've signed
- 15:38Speaker 4: deals to renovate people's homes based off of bringing them
- 15:41Speaker 4: to that house, you know. And it's definitely more of
- 15:45Speaker 4: the times, and you know, it's it's the call of
- 15:48Speaker 4: japandee like Japanese Scandinavian vibes within the.
- 15:52Speaker 2: House Japanese and Scandinavian.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Yeah, And it has to deal with like the wood
- 15:57Speaker 4: finishes and the stone finishes and all that stuff, as
- 15:59Speaker 4: well as like the furniture is more like mid like.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Modern.
- 16:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I was stumbling and mubbling over my words mid
- 16:08Speaker 4: century modern. I almost had mid tenery modern, mid century modern.
- 16:16Speaker 4: So I mean it's really cool space.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Oh nice, Okay, So we will be able to see
- 16:21Speaker 2: this when the show, Well, the show is coming out now,
- 16:23Speaker 2: it's out now Amazon Prime Video April eighteenth. Yeah, we were.
- 16:28Speaker 2: We can't air it until so don't now April eighteenth.
- 16:32Speaker 2: And why did you go with Amazon Prime?
- 16:34Speaker 5: Did you? Why?
- 16:36Speaker 2: Amazon? Especially since this has been in the works for
- 16:39Speaker 2: a while.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I think Amazon was the biggest believer in our vision
- 16:43Speaker 4: because we didn't want to just make a home rental show,
- 16:46Speaker 4: Like we wanted you to also see like Jupid in
- 16:49Speaker 4: my life and like my friends and my people and
- 16:51Speaker 4: those relationships and all that stuff and.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Heart reality show.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's like it's definitely a blend of both,
- 16:58Speaker 4: you know, Whereas you know, you kind of some of
- 17:01Speaker 4: the other you know now works wanted a real strict
- 17:04Speaker 4: home rental show, so we were you know, this this
- 17:07Speaker 4: was definitely the best fit. And I also feel like Amazon,
- 17:11Speaker 4: like when you need something for your house or when
- 17:13Speaker 4: you need something, what do you call it?
- 17:15Speaker 5: You call Amazons?
- 17:16Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, so I feel like they're just they're
- 17:18Speaker 4: and with the design they're and with renovations. Like so
- 17:20Speaker 4: many times we'd be in the pitch, we'd call Amazon,
- 17:23Speaker 4: you know, we would go online and buy whatever we
- 17:25Speaker 4: needed and then be there the next day. Like it's
- 17:27Speaker 4: just I just think that Amazon is so on with
- 17:31Speaker 4: the times and and they're doing great stuff, and you know,
- 17:33Speaker 4: on Prime but also like in store.
- 17:37Speaker 2: And you have some of your bachelor friends on you
- 17:38Speaker 2: have Hannah Brown, she's in an episode now. You and
- 17:41Speaker 2: Hannah have had just the most up and down of relationships.
- 17:47Speaker 2: You know, your friends, you're not friends, you're dating. You're
- 17:49Speaker 2: not dating now obviously you're not dating. What is your
- 17:53Speaker 2: relationship like now? And what should we expect to see
- 17:56Speaker 2: from her on the show?
- 17:58Speaker 5: Relationship is great, I think you'll see like it's we
- 18:03Speaker 5: have to figure out how we work together.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Yeah, right, like every time you see each other, it's
- 18:08Speaker 2: like wiggly.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Exactly exactly, because you know, we've we've definitely had our
- 18:13Speaker 4: pass of ups and downs, like you said, and I
- 18:16Speaker 4: think we definitely work them out. We definitely work them
- 18:20Speaker 4: out and it's for everyone to see. But what I
- 18:23Speaker 4: love about Hannah is like anything she does, she goes
- 18:26Speaker 4: full speed, one hundred miles an hour and gives it
- 18:29Speaker 4: her all.
- 18:30Speaker 5: And she did that. You know.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I called her on a big favor. I was like,
- 18:35Speaker 4: my designer can't take on this work she's got. She's
- 18:38Speaker 4: too full, can't do it like this person loves vaccination,
- 18:43Speaker 4: loves me, loves you. Like it should be huge, and
- 18:47Speaker 4: it's also the biggest I've ever been in, Like help
- 18:51Speaker 4: me get this client.
- 18:52Speaker 2: You know, the biggest house you've ever been in, and
- 18:54Speaker 2: you're having Hannah decorate it.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, just because she was that big of a
- 19:00Speaker 5: Bachelor fan.
- 19:01Speaker 4: I walked into the house and she had my book
- 19:03Speaker 4: and I uh and like a like a Tyler Urban Dictionary,
- 19:08Speaker 4: like t shirt on, like she's a big man of
- 19:11Speaker 4: the shows, you know what I mean. And I mean
- 19:13Speaker 4: this is like I've driven by this house so many
- 19:15Speaker 4: times in Jupiter. I was like, that house is amazing,
- 19:17Speaker 4: like I would like that's a dream home. And they
- 19:22Speaker 4: called and it was incredible, and but I had no designer.
- 19:25Speaker 4: I was like, well, I was like thinking a lot
- 19:30Speaker 4: of options and I kicked around a lot of ideas
- 19:32Speaker 4: and and then I was like, well, Hannada, she had
- 19:35Speaker 4: a pass in this, you know, and this lady loves
- 19:39Speaker 4: bachelor like loves, love loves, and there was Well.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I have to say, from what I've seen of Hannah's
- 19:45Speaker 2: place is on Instagram, they're very cute. She does a
- 19:48Speaker 2: great job putting them together.
- 19:49Speaker 5: She does a great job. She does a great job.
- 19:51Speaker 4: So I was I was confident in the sense that
- 19:54Speaker 4: she was going to give us her all and and
- 19:57Speaker 4: do her homework and make sure like she meets to
- 20:00Speaker 4: clients needs, just not confident in how we were going
- 20:03Speaker 4: to jive.
- 20:04Speaker 5: Mmm.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Interesting, you just weren't sure how this one time was
- 20:07Speaker 2: going to go because every.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Time it's different exactly exactly, you know. So I think,
- 20:13Speaker 5: but I think we're both like in.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Such a place now where we're accepting we understand each other,
- 20:18Speaker 4: you know, and our passes, our past.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Yeah, especially with her being engaged. So Jason tark is
- 20:25Speaker 2: also on the show.
- 20:27Speaker 5: Yeah, Jason's there.
- 20:28Speaker 3: What role does he play?
- 20:30Speaker 5: So Jason, you know he's a money guy.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say, you have to. He's talking
- 20:34Speaker 2: about financing these.
- 20:35Speaker 4: Politice dollar this dollar on his Instagram, And yeah, I
- 20:39Speaker 4: was like, you know, I was like, oh I need
- 20:40Speaker 4: you know, I could use a few dollars to help
- 20:42Speaker 4: me do this. And uh so he's kind of like
- 20:46Speaker 4: my partner. He's he's the money guy and helps, you know,
- 20:49Speaker 4: help on some money. And and we renovated this house together.
- 20:53Speaker 3: And you renovated Jason's house.
- 20:55Speaker 4: No no, no, another guy, okay, no, like we renovated
- 20:58Speaker 4: in airbnb that we we turn into an Airbnb.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Oh so it's an investment thing for him.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:04Speaker 4: So and this is really just a cool, like funky
- 21:07Speaker 4: little nautical boat house that we you know, that we
- 21:09Speaker 4: may happen.
- 21:11Speaker 2: So why is your you know, supposed bachelor Bessie Matt
- 21:15Speaker 2: James not part of the show.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I feel like you have a too.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Oh he is okay, all right, all right, So you
- 21:23Speaker 2: guys are still are you still as close as you
- 21:26Speaker 2: used to be? Because sometimes we see headlines where it's
- 21:28Speaker 2: like I can't be such good friends with Rachel like
- 21:33Speaker 2: all that we.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Had, we've had, We've had our growing pains for sure,
- 21:38Speaker 5: you know.
- 21:39Speaker 4: But yeah, me, Matt, me, Matt are great. I actually
- 21:42Speaker 4: just saw him yesterday. Everything, you know, we're great. Beat
- 21:47Speaker 4: him in some pickleball yesterday. But yeah, Matt came down.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Like what you see is like we had the last
- 21:52Speaker 4: supper at my mom's house, and so am I anyone
- 21:55Speaker 4: who spent a lot of time has been a part
- 21:58Speaker 4: of my mom's house and part of my mom. And
- 22:01Speaker 4: that has definitely been a part of both you know,
- 22:04Speaker 4: with the quarantine crew and then also his relationship with
- 22:06Speaker 4: my mother. So I really wanted him to be a
- 22:09Speaker 4: part of it, and he was there for that, and
- 22:11Speaker 4: then he also showed up for the gala.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I was going to say, you raised three hundred and
- 22:15Speaker 2: fifty thousand dollars at this gala.
- 22:18Speaker 5: Yeah, it's been amazing.
- 22:19Speaker 3: What was the cause?
- 22:20Speaker 4: So we're raising money for scholarships for students that are
- 22:23Speaker 4: in need here, you know, within my town county. Now
- 22:29Speaker 4: now we do it now we do everything in North County,
- 22:31Speaker 4: North Plumage County. So yeah, that year we raised three
- 22:36Speaker 4: hundred fifty thousand dollars. This year we raised four hundred
- 22:40Speaker 4: and fifty thousand dollars and all that money is going
- 22:43Speaker 4: to our kids. We now have if you go to
- 22:46Speaker 4: basically I'll put it this way, if you go to
- 22:48Speaker 4: an in state public school and you have our scholarship
- 22:52Speaker 4: your tuitions.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Completely cover for that's amazing.
- 22:55Speaker 4: So this year we're adding fourteen new students on, so
- 22:59Speaker 4: that'll us at twenty one students total, and we're just
- 23:02Speaker 4: going to keep growing up.
- 23:04Speaker 2: You're killing it, Tyler.
- 23:16Speaker 3: How do you do it all?
- 23:17Speaker 2: You've just kept chugging along, You've stayed relevant for the
- 23:21Speaker 2: past five years. What's your secret?
- 23:24Speaker 5: Take your shirt off?
- 23:26Speaker 3: That is the best, most honest answer of all time.
- 23:30Speaker 2: So you take your shirt off, and you can do
- 23:33Speaker 2: such good because you give the people what they want and.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Then you're able to manipulate.
- 23:39Speaker 4: You got to use a thirst shop every now and
- 23:41Speaker 4: then to get you back in the mix, you know,
- 23:44Speaker 4: so like I ain't dead, you know.
- 23:47Speaker 2: All right, Well that's a good entrance way into some
- 23:50Speaker 2: fun questions that I have for you that I know
- 23:53Speaker 2: you have to go. So I'll wrap this up soon.
- 23:54Speaker 5: But you.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Let's talk about you and Nick on Special Forces.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You both are guys that love taking your shirts off,
- 24:04Speaker 2: both such prominent successful members of bachclination. When you went
- 24:07Speaker 2: into that, were you like, oh, this is my main competition.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I have to make sure to beat this guy out,
- 24:13Speaker 2: especially because at the time I wasn't sure.
- 24:15Speaker 3: You could tie because you guys ended up.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Like tying and all being crowned the winners or was
- 24:19Speaker 2: it like I'm I have a friend woho.
- 24:23Speaker 5: Honestly, it's the first one.
- 24:25Speaker 4: It was like, I ain't going out before this dude
- 24:27Speaker 4: in Bachlination goes out and that's for damn sure. Yeah,
- 24:31Speaker 4: And so I was, you know, I wasn't gonna lose
- 24:33Speaker 4: to him. There's no shot in hell.
- 24:36Speaker 3: I think that's why both of you ended up at
- 24:38Speaker 3: the end.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Yeah. And also like Hannah Brown, Oh Yeahna Brown finished
- 24:43Speaker 5: the show.
- 24:43Speaker 2: That's right, you had to beat Hannah too.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I was like really going through it, and I wrote
- 24:49Speaker 4: all my issues down on a penn and pad, you know,
- 24:52Speaker 4: and I was like I can't, I can't, I can't
- 24:54Speaker 4: hop out, you know. And then I was like, man,
- 24:57Speaker 4: if Hannah Brown gets through this and you don't, you'll
- 25:00Speaker 4: never hear the end of it, you know. And so
- 25:03Speaker 4: I mean, I already had so much respect for her,
- 25:07Speaker 4: but for Hannah to get through that show, that was
- 25:10Speaker 4: one of the I played football. I went through two days,
- 25:12Speaker 4: I went through Hell, I went through getting killed by
- 25:14Speaker 4: big dudes on the football fields, like Hannah is a beast,
- 25:18Speaker 4: you know. But and then also having Nick there too,
- 25:21Speaker 4: I was like, I can't lose the Nick, you know,
- 25:23Speaker 4: and that's just and I think Nick had that competitive
- 25:25Speaker 4: edge of them too. But what's funny is like by
- 25:27Speaker 4: like day three and four, I never really spent time
- 25:30Speaker 4: with Nick, you know, I was like, I don't really
- 25:32Speaker 4: like this guy a lot. And and when we get
- 25:35Speaker 4: just being those situations and sit there and talk through
- 25:37Speaker 4: a lot of things and just learn about each other,
- 25:39Speaker 4: like I came to really love Nick and who he is,
- 25:42Speaker 4: and he's just he became, you know, became an amazing
- 25:45Speaker 4: friend ever since, and like I got so much love
- 25:47Speaker 4: for the guy and became so proud of him for
- 25:52Speaker 4: completing the show. Because there was a time on that
- 25:55Speaker 4: show where I was like Nick's done.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember that dip.
- 25:59Speaker 5: He was and then he just it was day sticks.
- 26:03Speaker 4: He was shot and I could see in his eyes
- 26:05Speaker 4: and you can see it every time I see those
- 26:07Speaker 4: someone's eyes have been gone two hours gone in five hours.
- 26:11Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden, Day seven came around.
- 26:14Speaker 4: He had like a you know, second win, and he
- 26:16Speaker 4: was a beast and that was like just so cool
- 26:18Speaker 4: to see someone, you know, beat that internal battle within
- 26:22Speaker 4: them and become such a dog and make it through
- 26:26Speaker 4: and I just made me have so much respect for him.
- 26:29Speaker 4: And I mean, I'm like, that guy will do anything,
- 26:32Speaker 4: you know, when it's for his kids, family, friends, like
- 26:35Speaker 4: he'll he'll he'll go through hell and back, which she did.
- 26:37Speaker 5: You know.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's such a teddy bear inside but has such
- 26:40Speaker 2: a hard shell sometimes.
- 26:42Speaker 3: And I love that.
- 26:43Speaker 2: That show really showed a side of him that I
- 26:46Speaker 2: think Bachelor fans haven't been able to see.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, it strips off that, you know, it takes away
- 26:51Speaker 4: that show and it makes me very vulnerable and real
- 26:54Speaker 4: and raw and we had to rely on each other
- 26:56Speaker 4: and he was so great for that.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Okay, so Maria from this past season of The Bachelor,
- 27:04Speaker 2: people are saying that, you know, she wasn't she wasn't
- 27:08Speaker 2: selected to be the bachelorette. And some people are going, well,
- 27:13Speaker 2: you know what, she has bigger and better things. Look
- 27:15Speaker 2: at what Tyler did after not accepting the role. What
- 27:21Speaker 2: would your advice be to somebody who has such prominence
- 27:26Speaker 2: amongst the fandom right now but is not going to
- 27:29Speaker 2: be the lead.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Strike while the iron's hot. I think she's done an
- 27:34Speaker 4: amazing job. I didn't get to watch the season, but
- 27:37Speaker 4: I think she's done such an amazing job captivating the
- 27:39Speaker 4: audience and the people like I feel like this is
- 27:43Speaker 4: the first year in a few years that we got
- 27:44Speaker 4: people buzzing about the show a bunch now, you know.
- 27:47Speaker 4: And I think she's got a strike while the iron's hot,
- 27:51Speaker 4: you know, be creative, think about what her lane and
- 27:53Speaker 4: what her focus is, and go for it.
- 27:55Speaker 5: You know.
- 27:55Speaker 4: I think people love her because she's real and raw
- 27:59Speaker 4: and honest and keep delivering that.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You can't avoid this question. I'm so sorry you mentioned
- 28:06Speaker 2: that there's somebody in your presence right now named Tate.
- 28:09Speaker 2: She's also on the show. People are talking about you
- 28:12Speaker 2: possibly dating. Is this a thing?
- 28:15Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 28:18Speaker 2: What has made you be so private about relationships since
- 28:22Speaker 2: maybe your relationship with Gigi, just.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Because once you make it public for everybody, it's everyone's
- 28:31Speaker 4: dance to pick on it and make their pains about it.
- 28:35Speaker 4: And I'm okay with that. I can deal with public scrutiny.
- 28:38Speaker 4: I've been getting this since I was fifteen years old
- 28:41Speaker 4: and playing varsity quarterback at my high school.
- 28:44Speaker 2: And you're just not like a classic movie quarterback. Wow, Tyler.
- 28:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like the most shit on person in
- 28:50Speaker 4: the county like there was there was Remember there was
- 28:51Speaker 4: a post mate about me. It had like one thousand
- 28:54Speaker 4: I had a thousand comments on it and it was
- 28:56Speaker 4: called when the Lights Are on Cameron's Off.
- 28:58Speaker 5: You know, it's like a post secret. No.
- 29:00Speaker 4: It was like one of the blogs about high school
- 29:03Speaker 4: sports within the county. It's like what we all would
- 29:05Speaker 4: go to to read up on the news and stuff.
- 29:06Speaker 4: And it was just ripping me apart, you know, And
- 29:08Speaker 4: I was like, so I've been dealing with this my
- 29:10Speaker 4: whole life, you know, And but others I don't want
- 29:16Speaker 4: them to have to go through that, you know, or
- 29:18Speaker 4: at least not right away in a sense.
- 29:21Speaker 5: But you know, I don't know.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I just like, I like keeping things private to myself
- 29:26Speaker 4: and one day maybe, but I'm just I'm just I'm
- 29:32Speaker 4: worried about focusing on work. Go to my career, go
- 29:34Speaker 4: to my life, and I'm really happy doing what I'm doing.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Respectable answer. My last one is a little bit for
- 29:41Speaker 2: myself and a little bit for people who are thinking
- 29:44Speaker 2: about getting a new house remodeling. What is something that
- 29:48Speaker 2: you think that a house should totally have, something that
- 29:51Speaker 2: people don't normally think about in your building and constructing today,
- 29:57Speaker 2: Like what is a component to a house that you're like, oh,
- 30:00Speaker 2: you have got to make sure you get that.
- 30:03Speaker 4: I think everyone needs to have an area in their
- 30:05Speaker 4: house that they can be decompressing, and you know, like
- 30:10Speaker 4: I think you need to have find a space where
- 30:12Speaker 4: I can get away from Jared, I can get away
- 30:14Speaker 4: from the baby, and I can just be by myself
- 30:16Speaker 4: and be me.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Whether that's building yourself a little office.
- 30:20Speaker 3: My glamor room. I think I have that.
- 30:23Speaker 2: It's my glamorom slash guest room, but it's basically like
- 30:25Speaker 2: my dressing room and office.
- 30:27Speaker 4: And I think that's so important. And like for me,
- 30:30Speaker 4: for instance, like I always have people over. Actually I'm
- 30:33Speaker 4: putting two offices upstairs, one for me, one for the foundation.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Like my executive director will work here in the house,
- 30:40Speaker 4: you know, like everyone who works me will work here
- 30:42Speaker 4: in the house. You know, will shoot all my workout
- 30:45Speaker 4: that is right here in this gym, you know. Like
- 30:48Speaker 4: So I need a space that's private within my own
- 30:51Speaker 4: house that's I can step away from. And I'm building
- 30:54Speaker 4: that right now outside my primary bedroom. I put in
- 30:58Speaker 4: these fresh stores. Won't you open to the fresh stores?
- 31:00Speaker 4: To go to a deck, and that deck is going
- 31:01Speaker 4: to have like a sunholme sauna.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I love a deck off of a main bedroom.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Yeah, and I'm had like my own little coal plunge
- 31:09Speaker 4: and I put this like fence all around it and
- 31:11Speaker 4: these beautiful arch gates and everything, and you can see
- 31:15Speaker 4: through it kind of.
- 31:16Speaker 5: But it's gonna be my naked space. I won't be
- 31:18Speaker 5: out there. I'm gonna be out there tann and naked.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Sure you want to tell the ladies out there about this.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Oh, I got no neighbor to the right of me.
- 31:25Speaker 5: So if you're over there peaking, you're really sketchy. And
- 31:29Speaker 5: you got to go through like a jungle of woods
- 31:31Speaker 5: to get to the side of my house, you know
- 31:33Speaker 5: what I mean.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Yeah, Well don't don't you know to think that ladies
- 31:37Speaker 3: won't do it.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Oh, I know I've already had. I've already had crazy
- 31:40Speaker 5: people come to the house before.
- 31:42Speaker 3: So I love that like part.
- 31:43Speaker 2: If he just doesn't care, you're just like, if you're
- 31:45Speaker 2: that crazy as fun as well, you know whatever.
- 31:47Speaker 5: You're crazy, Yeah, exactly. So I mean it's my little oasis.
- 31:53Speaker 4: And I think everyone should try and find ways to
- 31:55Speaker 4: put a place in their house where they can kind
- 31:57Speaker 4: of decompress, recoup, and catch. Sometimes you just got to
- 32:01Speaker 4: get away to catch your breath, and I think that's important.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Okay, well, Tyler, your show airs April eighteenth. It's out there, guys,
- 32:11Speaker 2: streaming on Amazon Prime. Is there anything else that you
- 32:14Speaker 2: want to talk about with the show or your life
- 32:16Speaker 2: right now? Anything to share last words with our audience?
- 32:21Speaker 5: Just check out the show.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I think it's a place where you're going to see
- 32:25Speaker 4: me for who I really really am, you know, and
- 32:27Speaker 4: not just like bits and pieces of me. I think
- 32:29Speaker 4: everyone got to see me on the Bachelorete as a
- 32:32Speaker 4: guy dating a girl, and then you see pieces of me.
- 32:36Speaker 5: On Special Forces. But this is like real raw.
- 32:40Speaker 4: It's me trying to build a business, it's me failing,
- 32:42Speaker 4: me picking myself up, it's me navigating what the real
- 32:47Speaker 4: world is really like.
- 32:48Speaker 2: You know.
- 32:49Speaker 4: I think we've been blessed, you know, me, you Jared
- 32:52Speaker 4: Ben to the light that we've been given from you know,
- 32:56Speaker 4: the Bachelor world. But this is kind of me stepping
- 32:59Speaker 4: back into the real world, i'd say, and giving it
- 33:02Speaker 4: a real shot against other people who really do this
- 33:05Speaker 4: stuff every day.
- 33:06Speaker 5: You know.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Well, Tyler, we have been like so grateful for the
- 33:10Speaker 2: time you gave us, and we hope the show does
- 33:11Speaker 2: it really well for you, and we hope to see
- 33:14Speaker 2: you soon in person. You're serious, delight, I.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Appreciate you someone, thanks for your time, and we'll definitely
- 33:19Speaker 4: get up there and hang out the coffee shop soon.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, bye, thank you.
