- 0:05Speaker 1: Hello, my love, Welcome back to the bonus episode of
- 0:08Speaker 1: Give Them All a Podcast. I am here with comedian.
- 0:13Speaker 1: And also, you produce, produce your.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Podcast, produce you uce content.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah, produce content. You produce your podcast. And are you
- 0:26Speaker 1: you said you.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Had Jerry Bruckheimer, I'm talking.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You said you had a like Netflix special content.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I made the special. I got a book coming out.
- 0:38Speaker 1: See like you're you wear money hats, I wear them all.
- 0:42Speaker 1: So when you do, because you have the thirty seven
- 0:45Speaker 1: and still single. But you said you just filmed something
- 0:47Speaker 1: with your parents.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I filmed a new special, stand up special called The
- 0:52Speaker 2: Family Plan.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And that's what you are hoping goes to a streamer. Yeah,
- 0:56Speaker 1: so you very much produce, like you have a hand
- 0:59Speaker 1: in making the content that's going to streamer.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah. When you're a stand up comedian, you got to
- 1:03Speaker 2: be the writer, the performer, the the clown. You know,
- 1:09Speaker 2: you got to do it all.
- 1:11Speaker 1: That feels like I was talking to my brother the
- 1:13Speaker 1: other day. The writing aspect sounds like so much work.
- 1:16Speaker 1: The way a comedian can talk about something, go on
- 1:19Speaker 1: a tangent and be able to wrap it back to
- 1:22Speaker 1: the beginning is a skill that I don't think I
- 1:25Speaker 1: could ever conquer.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Well. It took me years to like get better at
- 1:29Speaker 2: stand up. I'm still you know, stand up is you
- 1:32Speaker 2: have to love it, yeah, to do it. You can't
- 1:34Speaker 2: do it because if you don't love it, you don't
- 1:36Speaker 2: want to work at it. And it's a lot of
- 1:38Speaker 2: hard work, right, and it's also done very slowly. It's
- 1:41Speaker 2: like chipping away at a you know, at a statue.
- 1:44Speaker 2: You're trying to like get a joke, you know, and
- 1:47Speaker 2: you only get one chance to do it because you
- 1:48Speaker 2: need the audience to hear how they react, and you
- 1:52Speaker 2: got to say it the right way, and you got
- 1:53Speaker 2: to believe even if it doesn't work well. I said
- 1:55Speaker 2: it that way last night and the work last night.
- 1:57Speaker 2: So it's a slow process, you know. Bill Burr I
- 2:00Speaker 2: heard him say, He's like, if you get a new
- 2:02Speaker 2: minute a week, by the end of the year, you'll
- 2:05Speaker 2: have fifty two minutes, which is as special And I
- 2:10Speaker 2: kind of think that's a perfect way to think about it,
- 2:13Speaker 2: because new minute a week would be really writing. Okay,
- 2:18Speaker 2: so I think it takes two years to have a
- 2:21Speaker 2: special be pretty good.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Who is your favorite comedian?
- 2:25Speaker 2: I love Kevin James, The King of Queens, and he
- 2:29Speaker 2: has a standing. He had a stand up special that
- 2:31Speaker 2: I like love called Sweat the Small Stuff. It's on YouTube,
- 2:35Speaker 2: it was on Comedy Central that it's so good it
- 2:38Speaker 2: still works. It's like a late nineties like he's doing
- 2:40Speaker 2: bits that like some of them aged out because you know,
- 2:45Speaker 2: technology and life, but a lot of them really are
- 2:48Speaker 2: like classic bits. He's just he's not known as much
- 2:52Speaker 2: as a stand up as he is like Paul Blart
- 2:54Speaker 2: or like yeah, King of Queens, but like he is
- 2:57Speaker 2: a stand up, So that's like a special. And then
- 3:00Speaker 2: like current like David Tel's like the Comedians comedian, like
- 3:03Speaker 2: everyone loves Dave, like Dave's like amazing. There's people I
- 3:07Speaker 2: love just that I'm friends with that are like great,
- 3:11Speaker 2: you know, Michelle Wolf and Michael Chay, Nimesh Patel, these
- 3:15Speaker 2: are all like close friends of mine that are all
- 3:18Speaker 2: like so good, you know.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I like Andrew Santino that I've just recently, well I
- 3:26Speaker 1: shouldn't say recently in the past year. I watched Cheeseburger
- 3:29Speaker 1: on Netflix.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Yup, I saw he's very funny. I've been on his
- 3:32Speaker 2: podcast A Great Guy.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah, wait, the Bad Friends podcast. Now, I went on
- 3:37Speaker 1: his solo one.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I love this.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a great guys, very funny.
- 3:41Speaker 1: For the bonus, I want to ask you some rapid
- 3:44Speaker 1: fire questions.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Let's do it and advice.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I don't know how rapid you are, but I just
- 3:50Speaker 1: a player.
- 3:51Speaker 2: What do you do when preseason ends? And should you
- 3:56Speaker 2: go to the games? I didn't. I don't know. I'm
- 3:59Speaker 2: still guessing. You know.
- 4:02Speaker 1: No, he says he's not ready to date but still
- 4:05Speaker 1: text me every night? What does that mean?
- 4:08Speaker 2: That means he's attracted? It's a mess. Let's just start.
- 4:13Speaker 2: It's a mess because the words matter here. He's not
- 4:17Speaker 2: ready to date, but he texts me every night? Okay,
- 4:20Speaker 2: so what does date mean? Like? Have you gone out
- 4:25Speaker 2: and hooked up and he doesn't want to be your
- 4:27Speaker 2: boyfriend and you'd like a boyfriend.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Or.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You want to go on a date and he won't
- 4:33Speaker 2: even go on a date?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, because if he's only texting you at night, that
- 4:36Speaker 1: sounds like he's trying to get all up in it.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's like not even This person's problem is
- 4:42Speaker 2: they're not really zoning on what they want. Take it
- 4:45Speaker 2: back a step. I would like a date is way
- 4:49Speaker 2: simpler and more defined. Then I'm not ready to date.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I don't even know what the fuck that means. Like,
- 4:56Speaker 2: I've never even said that sentence to a woman. So
- 4:59Speaker 2: if I've said it, then he's just trying to keep
- 5:03Speaker 2: the ball in the air. When someone keeps texting you
- 5:06Speaker 2: and says I don't want to date and that's a
- 5:08Speaker 2: vague thing. I'm not ready to date, but I keep
- 5:10Speaker 2: texting you, they're just trying. Men love vague options. We
- 5:18Speaker 2: were told from a young age approach approach, approach, pursue
- 5:22Speaker 2: or supersue. That involved a lot of losing, like a
- 5:29Speaker 2: lot of being turned down. Yeah, so when your whole
- 5:32Speaker 2: life you're told pursue approach, they like it. They want
- 5:35Speaker 2: you to go up and ask them on a date.
- 5:37Speaker 2: When you have someone who's agreed to like that, they
- 5:42Speaker 2: think you're hot and they want to text you back,
- 5:45Speaker 2: you kind of hold on to it because you're afraid
- 5:47Speaker 2: that you'll go without and you'll never have like another
- 5:52Speaker 2: woman who will say yes to It's like a survival thing,
- 5:55Speaker 2: all right. I'm not trying to apologize for it. I'm
- 5:57Speaker 2: just giving a reason to it. So, like, why does
- 5:59Speaker 2: he keep texting is because we'd like to put leftovers
- 6:02Speaker 2: in the fridge. We don't want to like and I
- 6:04Speaker 2: know that grosses you out, but I'm saying, like, you
- 6:08Speaker 2: don't want to go without you don't want to be hungry.
- 6:10Speaker 2: So I got to make sure there's someone who I got,
- 6:14Speaker 2: someone who I'm texting, because at some point maybe I'll
- 6:18Speaker 2: be like in the mood for all right.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So you would tell this woman to just stop even in.
- 6:23Speaker 2: GEI I wouldn't say that, because that's not how I
- 6:25Speaker 2: give advice. I would say to them, what do you
- 6:28Speaker 2: want and make it specific, say it out loud.
- 6:32Speaker 1: So let's say I would like to go on dates,
- 6:37Speaker 1: but not be exclusive.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Make it smaller. What do you want next week?
- 6:46Speaker 1: I want to go out with you.
- 6:47Speaker 2: I want to go on a date.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I want to go on a date. Well guess what,
- 6:50Speaker 1: So I was already said he's not ready to date.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Well that's but this is my point. You can't tell
- 6:55Speaker 2: people what to do. They got to find it out
- 6:56Speaker 2: on their own.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So to this person who's texting and tech texting with
- 7:01Speaker 2: someone who says they don't want to be dating because
- 7:03Speaker 2: they don't they're whatever the fuck is wrong with them,
- 7:07Speaker 2: I would say them they should write to them. Hey,
- 7:09Speaker 2: I just want to go. I'm looking to go out
- 7:11Speaker 2: and get drinks next week. Make a plan. I'm in.
- 7:14Speaker 2: But if you can't, that's what I'm looking for in
- 7:17Speaker 2: a partner right now. And if you can't do that,
- 7:19Speaker 2: we have to stop text.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And then he will probably won't want us for the
- 7:22Speaker 1: first time and just say I don't I'm well, he won't.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Say anything, he'll probably disappear, he'll probably make an excuse. No,
- 7:28Speaker 2: he won't be honest. Oh he'll he'll he'll text you
- 7:31Speaker 2: in three weeks. But I'm trying to get the person
- 7:34Speaker 2: who's texting with the guy who keeps texting, they need
- 7:38Speaker 2: help to right. You know, this question doesn't come from
- 7:41Speaker 2: a place of power. This question comes from a place
- 7:44Speaker 2: of weakness and not acknowledging that they are doing something.
- 7:49Speaker 2: They're like, they're you know, they're insane. They keep texting
- 7:53Speaker 2: with someone that they're getting mad at if they if
- 7:56Speaker 2: they were able, they would just stop. They wouldn't write
- 7:59Speaker 2: at us.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Well, that's why I'm excited for the next question.
- 8:02Speaker 2: That's my point. You know what I mean? Do you
- 8:03Speaker 2: get what I mean? Like, yes, I know what you mean,
- 8:05Speaker 2: Like I just like I don't like when someone gives
- 8:07Speaker 2: rules like, it's.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Just like, I think it's much easier to give the
- 8:11Speaker 1: advice that you're giving because I've given this advice to
- 8:14Speaker 1: my friends, and in the moment I'm put in that
- 8:16Speaker 1: same situation, I suddenly have zero rules. I don't know
- 8:21Speaker 1: how to go about anything right.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Any advice is easier to give them take no question.
- 8:26Speaker 2: But I'm saying for this person, if I say to them, hey,
- 8:30Speaker 2: what do you want and they can't answer that question,
- 8:32Speaker 2: it's more there. It's it's now their fault, like they
- 8:36Speaker 2: gotta they have to like be a participant in this.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Of course. Yeah, he watches every story but hasn't texted
- 8:44Speaker 1: in two weeks. Does that mean anything?
- 8:46Speaker 2: Yes?
- 8:47Speaker 1: Really, what does it mean?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Watching someone's story means you're attracted to them? That's it. Okay,
- 8:54Speaker 2: So that's the problem with the stories thing. People are like,
- 8:56Speaker 2: it doesn't matter. It does, but it doesn't. Watch your
- 9:00Speaker 2: stories mean something. But it doesn't mean they like you.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It just means they're attracted you. I it's like looking
- 9:07Speaker 2: at someone walking down the street. I've checked out a
- 9:12Speaker 2: woman's ass as she passed me on the street. Of course,
- 9:16Speaker 2: that doesn't mean I want to go on a day with.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Them, So it's just like looking at you.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Well, because the reason they're looking at your stories all
- 9:23Speaker 2: the time is because the stories that go to the
- 9:25Speaker 2: front are the people's pages you're interacting with the most.
- 9:28Speaker 2: So acknowledge that.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Wow, you just taught me something I had no idea.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I mean you knew that. No, I just think you're
- 9:35Speaker 2: not looking at someone's stories that like of a paid
- 9:37Speaker 2: your friends that you would interact the most with on
- 9:40Speaker 2: Instagram don't come up front, front and center. They do.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I thought it just posted the story that's most recent.
- 9:48Speaker 2: No, it's an account you've interacted with, and it's account
- 9:52Speaker 2: you've touched, an account you've searched, an account you've liked.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Those come up first. The ones that are at the
- 10:00Speaker 2: way end are the ones you've stopped really caring about.
- 10:04Speaker 2: So they're looking at you, they're interacting with you, even
- 10:10Speaker 2: if they're not liking your page is on the front
- 10:15Speaker 2: end of their their views. Yeah, so it means they're attracted.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So it's hard to say to someone they keep watching
- 10:23Speaker 2: my stories and you're like when you say it's nothing, like, well,
- 10:25Speaker 2: that's not true. It means they're attracted you. I mean,
- 10:28Speaker 2: I if it really affects you and you're getting annoyed
- 10:30Speaker 2: by it. How about you block them? If that's too
- 10:34Speaker 2: much for you, that's okay. How about you mute them?
- 10:37Speaker 2: How about you block them from your stories? Like, we
- 10:40Speaker 2: can take actions, right, you can take actions to get
- 10:43Speaker 2: rid of this. Is it if it's because and we
- 10:46Speaker 2: have to acknowledge, is it bothering me? Like there are
- 10:49Speaker 2: points where I'm watching all these stories, I'm like, what
- 10:50Speaker 2: the fuck am I doing here? And you have to
- 10:53Speaker 2: be you know I'm gonna and these are ways. There
- 10:55Speaker 2: are ways to do it without letting them know. And sometimes,
- 10:59Speaker 2: but sometimes that hurts people to do.
- 11:01Speaker 1: To mute someone, Yeah, you.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Feel bad that you're they don't even care. They don't
- 11:06Speaker 2: even know that I muted them, Like you just lose
- 11:09Speaker 2: like they're again seeing their face watching your stories. It
- 11:14Speaker 2: does hit you in a place. At least someone cares,
- 11:17Speaker 2: at least they're looking. So I get why people ask
- 11:21Speaker 2: about it. Think about it people.
- 11:23Speaker 1: By the way, there's so many of my friends who
- 11:25Speaker 1: always say he watched my stories. I don't understand why
- 11:29Speaker 1: he takes back They're right, I met someone on vacation.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Now what Well, that one's hard because the long distance
- 11:38Speaker 1: thing is like fun for five seconds.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I would need to know more to the story. But
- 11:43Speaker 2: based on this, if I have to answer this question now, what, hey,
- 11:48Speaker 2: what's that?
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm just I have a good one for you, going.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Well, the vacation didn't answer that quick? I would say
- 11:54Speaker 2: if you met someone on vacation, I would ask what
- 11:57Speaker 2: the plan is next? You know, and if you can't
- 11:59Speaker 2: answer that and you don't want to put yourself out there,
- 12:01Speaker 2: then it's not worth your doing.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I think it's just like you had fun and call
- 12:06Speaker 1: it a day.
- 12:06Speaker 2: I mean, that's not for me to say, like, this
- 12:10Speaker 2: is why.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I can't do what you do, because I love having
- 12:13Speaker 1: control and telling pody. I would say it's my most
- 12:15Speaker 1: favorite thing to do.
- 12:16Speaker 2: If a friend of mine was like, I went on vacation,
- 12:17Speaker 2: I met this guy or I met this girl and
- 12:19Speaker 2: they're awesome and I really like there's something there, I
- 12:23Speaker 2: would go, Okay, if that's the case, what's happening next
- 12:27Speaker 2: month for you two to get to know each other more?
- 12:29Speaker 2: At a basis, all you want to do is get
- 12:31Speaker 2: to know them more. You're not asking for more than that. Okay,
- 12:36Speaker 2: so hey, I really and you have to be vulnerable
- 12:40Speaker 2: like you don't. You can't have it all. You can't
- 12:44Speaker 2: have an amazing time and cobo with someone and then
- 12:48Speaker 2: you know, and then they you know. Then it's easy
- 12:51Speaker 2: from then on there on out. And I don't care
- 12:53Speaker 2: what romantic comedy you saw that told you what was
- 12:56Speaker 2: going to happen. That way, you got to lose something
- 12:59Speaker 2: and sometimes losing like you know, losing the ability to
- 13:04Speaker 2: like guard yourself. Hey, I it was a great time meeting. Hey,
- 13:09Speaker 2: what happened this weekend? What really surprised me? This is
- 13:13Speaker 2: the text I was saying, what happened this weekend really
- 13:14Speaker 2: surprise me? I don't know. I'm not seeing anyone right now,
- 13:18Speaker 2: and I feel like I really want to get to
- 13:21Speaker 2: know you more. If you're up for that, let's make
- 13:24Speaker 2: a plan for a few weeks out and again to
- 13:29Speaker 2: like meet safely and or you come to me, or
- 13:32Speaker 2: I come to you, and we see if we like
- 13:35Speaker 2: each other again. Maybe it's not, Maybe maybe it is,
- 13:40Speaker 2: Maybe it's not. I mean I've done this where I've
- 13:42Speaker 2: gone to.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Like, would you take a friend or go solo?
- 13:46Speaker 2: I think you take a friend. Yeah, I think you
- 13:48Speaker 2: take a friend. I think you make it as easy
- 13:50Speaker 2: as get your own room. Totally make it as easy
- 13:53Speaker 2: as possible. Again, you can't have it. All these things
- 13:56Speaker 2: cost money, right, you can't afford it. Don't make your
- 13:58Speaker 2: life a detriment. Maybe it's now's not the time, but
- 14:02Speaker 2: if you can afford to get your own room and
- 14:03Speaker 2: go with a friend to like, I mean, I've been
- 14:06Speaker 2: in that situation where like I've been on the road
- 14:07Speaker 2: and then like you know, the person came with their
- 14:10Speaker 2: friend and got their own room and you know, had
- 14:13Speaker 2: their own weekend and then we got to hang out again. Yeah,
- 14:17Speaker 2: and see if this is worth and worth is a
- 14:22Speaker 2: tough word because I'm not saying they're not worth it,
- 14:24Speaker 2: but like the idea, like can this be something we
- 14:27Speaker 2: try and that's all you're trying to do. Keep it small,
- 14:31Speaker 2: keep the stake small.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Okay. I like that, especially because I'm into finding people
- 14:36Speaker 1: who don't live near me, which I don't know, I
- 14:38Speaker 1: don't understand that.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, because that's because well, everyone's nice when you're leaving.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's also nice to be like right, it's like easy.
- 14:46Speaker 2: You know, I'm so nice to people and they're like,
- 14:48Speaker 2: oh I'm going I'm like, oh, I see you. You
- 14:51Speaker 2: were great, you know, you know who I'm mean to.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I don't know when I'm leaving. Oh really, Oh yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 2: it's the same as like a woman in your town.
- 15:02Speaker 2: You know what I might move here?
- 15:03Speaker 1: Really no, no, no, I sent a naughty riskue text
- 15:10Speaker 1: after a few drinks. He didn't respond. Am I blocked
- 15:15Speaker 1: or just humbled the no response? You know when you're blocked.
- 15:20Speaker 1: If you have an iPhone, by the way, deal breaker,
- 15:22Speaker 1: If my text goes through green, it's and you text like,
- 15:25Speaker 1: if you have an Android, we're good. Here goes back
- 15:29Speaker 1: to the khaki pants.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Listen, that's your ex or your own. I would say
- 15:36Speaker 2: two things. Sometimes let me let me give some empathy
- 15:40Speaker 2: to the guy who doesn't get back to your dirty text.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:45Speaker 2: What gets looked over is that you have to be
- 15:49Speaker 2: in the right mind space to send a dirty text.
- 15:52Speaker 2: You also have to be in the right mind space
- 15:53Speaker 2: to receive a dirty text. So I have gotten text
- 15:56Speaker 2: from women where it's like this hot, awesome text and
- 16:01Speaker 2: I'm like in an uber going to a podcast, and
- 16:06Speaker 2: I'm like, I don't have the ability the mindset I
- 16:09Speaker 2: am not in right back to this mode. So and
- 16:14Speaker 2: this happens with like when you're like distance with someone
- 16:18Speaker 2: like their time zone is eight pm and you're like
- 16:21Speaker 2: four and you're like, how do I write titty at
- 16:25Speaker 2: four pm? You know, like I you know, like it's
- 16:27Speaker 2: like it's way harder than it gets credit for. So
- 16:31Speaker 2: I would say to this person, I don't know if
- 16:34Speaker 2: they're blocked. I don't know if they should be. I
- 16:36Speaker 2: don't think they should be humbled. Maybe you hit the
- 16:39Speaker 2: other person at an hour that wasn't the same for
- 16:43Speaker 2: them as it was for you. Okay, that's my one thing.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Now if you write to them, hey, that was pretty
- 16:50Speaker 2: I think it's okay to be turned off again. Don't
- 16:51Speaker 2: be confused, be turned off. Like I said in the
- 16:54Speaker 2: other episode, Okay, hey, it really kind of annoyed me
- 16:58Speaker 2: that you never got back to the text. I was
- 17:00Speaker 2: really like feeling you that night, and I think they're
- 17:04Speaker 2: going to write back either. That's you. We call it
- 17:07Speaker 2: the reveal on the podcast. Ok So, it's like the
- 17:10Speaker 2: talk is stupid, Like when should we have the talk?
- 17:14Speaker 2: I think that's never worked. It's not good. If you
- 17:17Speaker 2: have to have the talk, it's gone. I think the
- 17:20Speaker 2: reveal is a better option. So the reveal is letting
- 17:24Speaker 2: someone know that you how you feel and then just
- 17:26Speaker 2: shutting the fuck up.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:28Speaker 2: So, hey, I sent you a I sent you some
- 17:32Speaker 2: nudes and a fun text the other night. It really
- 17:35Speaker 2: let me down that you never got back to it.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Now shut the fuck up, okay, because at that point
- 17:45Speaker 2: they're gonna come back with a response. It's either caring
- 17:49Speaker 2: or it's like it's an it's a breakup because they
- 17:53Speaker 2: know that you're farther ahead than maybe they are, or
- 17:56Speaker 2: it's an explanation. Hey, I gotta be honest with you,
- 17:59Speaker 2: and I would say to the person who wrote this,
- 18:01Speaker 2: have some empathy for the explanation. It might be you
- 18:05Speaker 2: caught me out like the worst time, because a sexy
- 18:08Speaker 2: text getting back to it isn't just everything's nothing much,
- 18:12Speaker 2: you know, and.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It's very a lot of pressure on the receiving end.
- 18:17Speaker 2: We have to have empathy for the receiving end of
- 18:20Speaker 2: a dirty text because that end of it is not
- 18:23Speaker 2: as easy because everyone thinks, well, you should feel lucky
- 18:26Speaker 2: you're seeing my titty, and you go, I am lucky.
- 18:30Speaker 2: That's why I want to give a response that's deserving
- 18:33Speaker 2: of this titty. But I'm not in the place to
- 18:36Speaker 2: write a response to the titty. So This is where
- 18:40Speaker 2: I think we get like. I think this is a
- 18:42Speaker 2: more layered answer than maybe they would.
- 18:45Speaker 1: It is. In the last time I sent like dirty
- 18:48Speaker 1: text messages, it was kind of a while ago, but
- 18:51Speaker 1: I just remember it's almost like for play, right, Like
- 18:55Speaker 1: you're wanting to each text that's going back and forth,
- 18:59Speaker 1: trying to one up the other person because you want
- 19:02Speaker 1: to get to the climax, right, It is a lot
- 19:05Speaker 1: of pressure. The first person to send off the dirty
- 19:08Speaker 1: text actually has to be easiest.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Right because they are all you have to do it
- 19:11Speaker 2: in their undies feeling west and.
- 19:14Speaker 1: All you have to do is I'm feeling wet right now, right.
- 19:17Speaker 2: And now now, and it's like okay, and now you've
- 19:22Speaker 2: got to go to like the mindset of like, okay,
- 19:25Speaker 2: how do I get her? You know.
- 19:28Speaker 1: It's a lie. This is why I I sometimes wish
- 19:32Speaker 1: I could be a lesbian, because that would be easy.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I know, I don't think you want that. Really, you
- 19:38Speaker 2: want to date a woman, I can tell you right now,
- 19:41Speaker 2: A lot of work. It can be a lot of work.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Okay. The next one I have for you is we've
- 19:47Speaker 1: been dating for six months and he still hasn't introduced
- 19:50Speaker 1: me to a single friend. Is this low key secret girlfriend.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Energy you're dating in the back alleys.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Oh, it's kind of the best kind.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Though, Listen. It's everything serves its own purpose. Yeah, but
- 20:02Speaker 2: this person you're dating in the alleys, you're not on
- 20:05Speaker 2: main street. The biggest issue they have isn't that they're
- 20:09Speaker 2: being hidden, it's that the breakup is just easier. Yeah,
- 20:13Speaker 2: you have to weave someone into your life to make
- 20:17Speaker 2: you know, like to make it go any further. So
- 20:20Speaker 2: you that, listen, they're dating six months, six months may
- 20:25Speaker 2: as well be one month.
- 20:27Speaker 1: When do you think is a good time to like
- 20:31Speaker 1: what I mean, is there like a limit on? Okay,
- 20:35Speaker 1: we've been out three times? Why am I not being introduced?
- 20:38Speaker 2: No?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Or is it kind of like maybe you guys don't
- 20:41Speaker 1: know each other well enough? Do you find that it's
- 20:42Speaker 1: all in the communication.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It's all in the communication, like all things, Like I
- 20:46Speaker 2: talk about.
- 20:47Speaker 1: This all the time. It's such a simple concept, but
- 20:49Speaker 1: it's actually very complex.
- 20:50Speaker 2: No. Well, it's also like, listen, I've dated people for
- 20:54Speaker 2: six months and like it's it's hovered in this one
- 20:59Speaker 2: spot really like this person, And the reasoning was, you know,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I wasn't really ready to make it more than it was.
- 21:09Speaker 2: And I also didn't. There's a little scheduling aspect to it.
- 21:15Speaker 2: If I'm going to be which sounds like bullshit, but
- 21:17Speaker 2: it's like, I'm looking at my schedule. I'm not going
- 21:19Speaker 2: to be in the same city for this long. How
- 21:22Speaker 2: could I get to know someone? You know, when you're
- 21:24Speaker 2: getting to know someone over text, it's just not the
- 21:27Speaker 2: same and you get bored, right and and for me personally,
- 21:31Speaker 2: and I think like you as well, and I think
- 21:35Speaker 2: the audience can relate to this more than they would
- 21:37Speaker 2: maybe admit. But honestly, there's dating pre social media, and
- 21:44Speaker 2: then there's post social media. So like if you and
- 21:48Speaker 2: your you know, the third basement that you're dating, put
- 21:53Speaker 2: it on Instagram, Okay, there's a different responsibility. If this ends,
- 21:58Speaker 2: you have to undo it. You have to answer to
- 22:02Speaker 2: a greater world. Same with the listeners. Even if you're
- 22:05Speaker 2: not a person who posts on social media, you have
- 22:07Speaker 2: two hundred followers that are your friends that care about
- 22:10Speaker 2: your life, that would are watching.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that are wonder right.
- 22:15Speaker 2: So like six months, you go, do I feel confident enough?
- 22:19Speaker 2: And I think with my dating life, I want to
- 22:21Speaker 2: be like I want to be sprinting, and I think
- 22:25Speaker 2: when if you're holding up at all, you're like, Okay,
- 22:28Speaker 2: let me keep this pre social media or keep this
- 22:32Speaker 2: pre meeting my friends, because then I'd have to undo
- 22:35Speaker 2: that if it doesn't go right. And so I don't
- 22:39Speaker 2: think that's a good thing for this person's scenario. Like
- 22:43Speaker 2: I don't think that they're in a good spot if
- 22:45Speaker 2: they want more.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Well, and we see and I operate off of ego,
- 22:49Speaker 1: which is hard to believe when I'm in the AA
- 22:53Speaker 1: program because we try to silence that. But for me,
- 22:56Speaker 1: like I wouldn't say anything to him because I would
- 22:58Speaker 1: be afraid of the response and feeling rejected. So I
- 23:01Speaker 1: lead with ego.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Here's my question of the person and my question to you, Okay,
- 23:08Speaker 2: how would you feel if you were writing this email
- 23:11Speaker 2: a year from now, If you were writing I haven't
- 23:13Speaker 2: met his friends yet and it was a year.
- 23:15Speaker 1: In Oh, now you've now, I would be like, I
- 23:18Speaker 1: wish I would have been more forward, because now I've
- 23:21Speaker 1: wasted a year when I could have cut this off
- 23:24Speaker 1: in six months.
- 23:24Speaker 2: And here's how I help this person. Okay, go out
- 23:27Speaker 2: with your friends, have some spritzes. Yeah, text this guy,
- 23:32Speaker 2: hay him out with my friends. I want you to
- 23:33Speaker 2: come hang out and see if they'll come.
- 23:36Speaker 1: That's cute. I like that. And then that way, it
- 23:38Speaker 1: still feels okay if he doesn't come, because you're with
- 23:41Speaker 1: your girls and you're a little buzz.
- 23:42Speaker 2: And vulnerability produces vulnerability. Now you have a right to
- 23:46Speaker 2: say if he does come, great, he's meeting your friends.
- 23:50Speaker 2: You've inched forward. If he doesn't come, you can say, hey,
- 23:54Speaker 2: I made an effort today. I tried to get you
- 23:56Speaker 2: to hang with my friends and I and you just
- 23:59Speaker 2: basically and you were doing nothing. Yeah, you didn't really
- 24:02Speaker 2: have a great excuse. I feel let down by that,
- 24:05Speaker 2: right if and if he and so that's a conversation.
- 24:11Speaker 2: So now you're getting deserving of a conversation. I think
- 24:13Speaker 2: she deserves to have a conversation anyways, but maybe this
- 24:16Speaker 2: helps her have that. You know, Hey, I try to
- 24:19Speaker 2: do something fun and you just didn't. Really you weren't.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You gave me nothing.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah, or he comes and you go, hey, you met
- 24:26Speaker 2: my friends and that was so much fun. I want
- 24:27Speaker 2: to do that with your friends now too. So now
- 24:29Speaker 2: it makes that conversation easier.
- 24:31Speaker 1: Okay, I love all of this. I'm implementing it all
- 24:34Speaker 1: into my.
- 24:34Speaker 2: There you go. Last question you're dating?
- 24:38Speaker 1: Okay, I wanted to ask you the IG one.
- 24:44Speaker 2: He's in sidelinebacker.
- 24:47Speaker 1: He never compliments me, but he compliments other women on
- 24:50Speaker 1: ig Call him on it or just dump him.
- 24:52Speaker 2: You gotta dump him.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I think that guy sounds like a fucking dick.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a lack of beyond not comment on you, like,
- 25:01Speaker 2: forget that social media is a public place. And would
- 25:05Speaker 2: he feel comfortable with your friends seeing that he's like commimenting, Like,
- 25:09Speaker 2: is that who you want to date? I don't know, No,
- 25:11Speaker 2: that's that's that would be a turn off to me.
- 25:14Speaker 2: But I'm saying like, I also don't like to tell
- 25:16Speaker 2: people what to do, but I just think like you
- 25:20Speaker 2: have a leg to stand on if you were to, like,
- 25:22Speaker 2: but you're not going to fix this guy? Is No?
- 25:24Speaker 1: I think this is a hymn issue when you I
- 25:26Speaker 1: don't know this.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, you're not going to fix a guy who
- 25:29Speaker 2: thought so little of you that they didn't care about
- 25:33Speaker 2: this being seen.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fucked up. Okay, this happens to me all
- 25:41Speaker 1: the fucking time. I'm seeing someone new but still dreaming
- 25:44Speaker 1: about my ex. Is that just emotional lag.
- 25:47Speaker 2: What the fuck is I don't know what emotional lag is.
- 25:50Speaker 1: I don't know what that is either, But what is that?
- 25:52Speaker 1: I know you're not some like dream interpreter, but like
- 25:55Speaker 1: I feel like that isn't normal.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I would say, if they're not muting and blocking an X,
- 26:00Speaker 2: you're doing yourself at a service. She's dreaming about it,
- 26:03Speaker 2: I know, but the dreams happened, right, You're subconsciously coming
- 26:08Speaker 2: across things. You have the listen. It's not you used
- 26:12Speaker 2: to before social media. I remember, like what there was
- 26:15Speaker 2: one time my dad, mom and I, like I was
- 26:18Speaker 2: like a young kid, and we like went for ice cream,
- 26:21Speaker 2: and then we left the ice cream place and we
- 26:22Speaker 2: got in the car and my dad was like my
- 26:24Speaker 2: mom was like, that was your dad's ex girlfriend, you know,
- 26:27Speaker 2: Oh my god, oh my god, and she was giving
- 26:29Speaker 2: them ship. That was the only time you could really
- 26:32Speaker 2: see an ex like you didn't have to, Like you
- 26:34Speaker 2: had no ability to because like if I saw an
- 26:37Speaker 2: ex at ice cream and I'm with my kids and family,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I would already know everything about their lives. I would
- 26:43Speaker 2: know that they were going to be at ice cream,
- 26:44Speaker 2: like you know, like because there's some sort of there's
- 26:47Speaker 2: a level of knowledge I would have that I'm not
- 26:49Speaker 2: like proud of it, Like that's kind of how it goes.
- 26:52Speaker 2: It is such like a funny thing to think about,
- 26:54Speaker 2: like my dad being like yeah I was an X
- 26:57Speaker 2: and like oh in them catching up and like the moment,
- 26:59Speaker 2: like having no idea what they've been up to, and
- 27:03Speaker 2: this is so different today. So it's like, I don't know,
- 27:05Speaker 2: I think we should want a little more of what
- 27:07Speaker 2: my parents had and a little less give right, So
- 27:10Speaker 2: like why don't we create that world for ourselves and
- 27:12Speaker 2: be an active participant in our life and our health
- 27:14Speaker 2: and be like, Okay, I'm gonna block my X on everything.
- 27:17Speaker 2: And it's not because I hate them.
- 27:20Speaker 1: You can because there's no reason.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Self, you know, making yourself feel good. This is all
- 27:27Speaker 2: mental health, Like it's not. And here's the scenario that
- 27:31Speaker 2: never happens. Tell me the X going, hey you blocked me. No,
- 27:35Speaker 2: that never happened, Never happens, and never afraid of It's like,
- 27:38Speaker 2: you know, you ever see those videos of like what
- 27:40Speaker 2: you what people think is going to happen when friends
- 27:43Speaker 2: come over and they're like you haven't cleaned your you know,
- 27:45Speaker 2: the duster you're like, yeah, like that never happens. People
- 27:49Speaker 2: don't act that way. When you see your block, you go,
- 27:51Speaker 2: I'll get away. Obviously I bothered them. I need to like.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm still so I.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Have sex dreams. I'm saying, like, get spurred by something, right,
- 28:03Speaker 2: but like, are something from your current? I don't know.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I think sometimes it's it's the uni. I see I'm
- 28:09Speaker 1: a little bit deeper than you on this. I think
- 28:11Speaker 1: it's your I think it's the universe trying to implant something.
- 28:14Speaker 1: So I'm gonna tell you a very brief story and
- 28:16Speaker 1: then we can move on. Because this question was like
- 28:18Speaker 1: one of my favorites because it happens to me relatable.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I had this boyfriend and we were very very young. Okay,
- 28:28Speaker 1: he was still in college. He lived in La, I
- 28:31Speaker 1: lived back in Utah. We met through social media, and
- 28:36Speaker 1: we were together for quite a long time, I would say,
- 28:39Speaker 1: and then on and off once I moved out to LA. Anyway,
- 28:43Speaker 1: cut to he gets married, has kids, I find my
- 28:47Speaker 1: person and we have a baby, and I want to say,
- 28:51Speaker 1: maybe like two three years ago, I see that, and
- 28:56Speaker 1: I was still hooked on this guy, like I've always
- 28:58Speaker 1: been hooked on him. I can shake the fucking feeling.
- 29:01Speaker 1: It's been years, it's been over a decade. I cyberstock him.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I'm done with my X now. And he's deleted all
- 29:12Speaker 1: of his photos of his wife and he's changed, changed
- 29:17Speaker 1: that he's not married, like she's taken out of his bio.
- 29:20Speaker 1: So I slide in the DM. We start talking. I
- 29:23Speaker 1: go out to Vegas and he wants to link up.
- 29:27Speaker 1: He apologizes for everything that he put me through years ago.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I should have been there for you in a different way.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I want to say that I'm sorry. I asked him
- 29:37Speaker 1: about the wife, and he goes, well, I wanted to
- 29:39Speaker 1: tell you that we're going to try to work it out.
- 29:42Speaker 1: And I was like, I totally respect that you have children.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You should fucking do that. I go back to La.
- 29:48Speaker 1: He sends me a message a few weeks later. He's like, Hey,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm in LA. I'd love to get lunch with you.
- 29:53Speaker 1: And I said, I'm not going out with someone who
- 29:55Speaker 1: has a wife. I'm just not telling it. He said,
- 29:57Speaker 1: it's ended. He portrays four months now that he and
- 30:03Speaker 1: his wife got a divorce because of my trauma. I
- 30:07Speaker 1: am not buying it. I need to see paperwork. I
- 30:10Speaker 1: keep having dreams every night of his wife coming in
- 30:14Speaker 1: and catching us together. Even though he's saying they're done,
- 30:18Speaker 1: it just keeps coming up. So I plan to go
- 30:21Speaker 1: to Vegas to see him because I'm like, okay, like,
- 30:24Speaker 1: if you're saying like I want to believe you, I'm
- 30:27Speaker 1: holding on to his apology because it was just like
- 30:29Speaker 1: the most beautiful and necessary for my soul apology. My
- 30:33Speaker 1: friend says to me, so, you're gonna see him while
- 30:36Speaker 1: you're out there. I said yeah, And she did he
- 30:38Speaker 1: send you the proof of his divorce? And I said no?
- 30:42Speaker 1: And she goes, you're not hanging out with him. I
- 30:43Speaker 1: will not allow it. So I don't see him. I
- 30:49Speaker 1: continue to dream about him all the livelong day. I
- 30:52Speaker 1: literally over the weekend had another fucking dream about him
- 30:56Speaker 1: and the wife. I get onto social media to cyberse
- 31:00Speaker 1: talk again. She's got her ring on, he's got his
- 31:03Speaker 1: ring on, They've got pictures together, and I'm like, the
- 31:08Speaker 1: universe fucking did that for me?
- 31:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:11Speaker 1: Is that not wild?
- 31:13Speaker 2: It's wild? I think it's there's one part of the
- 31:17Speaker 2: story that like, I would like never acknowledge what the apology?
- 31:22Speaker 2: What do you mean you wouldn't acknowledge, Like I wouldn't
- 31:25Speaker 2: think of that as like a plus.
- 31:27Speaker 1: No, well, it's all been what.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm saying before you got to the you know, when
- 31:33Speaker 2: you're telling the story, Yeah, you're like the apology, you know,
- 31:36Speaker 2: hit me so hard because he apologized for all the
- 31:39Speaker 2: things he did. I kind of live in a world
- 31:41Speaker 2: of like what else was he gonna say? Like that's
- 31:45Speaker 2: the only way to start with you is to acknowledge
- 31:47Speaker 2: the past. Yeah, Like I don't think that's like a
- 31:49Speaker 2: heroic apology. No, No, the apology coming.
- 31:53Speaker 1: That's actually new. No one has ever said that to
- 31:56Speaker 1: me before, right, Like.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I think the apology is like the easiest, most self
- 32:01Speaker 2: serving thing for him to do because you're in Vegas, right,
- 32:04Speaker 2: You're in Vegas. He's got to make you feel happy
- 32:07Speaker 2: to be there. He's got to acknowledge the past. Like
- 32:11Speaker 2: that's like a maneuver more than it is like twelve steps.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Who Yeah, but I'm with you on the universe and like, yeah,
- 32:21Speaker 2: like something in your body told you, like there's something
- 32:24Speaker 2: off here, and it's probably your body saying like because
- 32:29Speaker 2: your mind is going that apology meant so much to me,
- 32:32Speaker 2: but your body's going. Anyone could have done. That's like,
- 32:35Speaker 2: I don't think there's just nothing to lose from the apology. Totally,
- 32:40Speaker 2: no risk taken. That's my two cents for wow that.
- 32:44Speaker 1: No one has ever pointed that part out. That is
- 32:47Speaker 1: the only opener.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Right, What else is it gonna say? Hey, been a while,
- 32:52Speaker 2: Like you acknowledge that you fucking cheated on me and
- 32:55Speaker 2: we had this weird, fucking bast and it's crazy that
- 32:58Speaker 2: we're here right now, like acknowledge what I was because
- 33:00Speaker 2: usually with an X the last text is like some
- 33:04Speaker 2: sort of anger, Like it's like being like happy birthday
- 33:07Speaker 2: after someone's like, well fuck you, and you can like
- 33:10Speaker 2: scroll up and you're like, wait a minute, I just
- 33:12Speaker 2: yelled at you. The next thing can't be happy birthday.
- 33:16Speaker 2: You have to acknowledge the thing above.
- 33:17Speaker 1: It's right, Oh my gosh, I needed that.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm happy that could help out all and wed
- 33:25Speaker 2: something came in the way, but I came in the way.
- 33:28Speaker 2: But I think you knew in your heart that that
- 33:31Speaker 2: apology was bullshit. Yeah, or was just easy to me.
- 33:36Speaker 2: That's an easy apology.
- 33:37Speaker 1: You know, most people, they can be shitty at a
- 33:40Speaker 1: certain time in their life, and you hope as they
- 33:41Speaker 1: get older, they become you know, nicer people. I'm like, wow,
- 33:46Speaker 1: age actually made you a shittier person.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Well, I mean if I was to give him empathy
- 33:51Speaker 2: when people you know, when people are lonely, yeah, they
- 33:56Speaker 2: are men generally, to go back to something we talked
- 33:59Speaker 2: about before, men people generally go the easiest route, right.
- 34:06Speaker 2: In general, people take the easier route as opposed to
- 34:09Speaker 2: the harder route. So when you're lonely, who do you
- 34:12Speaker 2: go back to? What you're familiar with and the list
- 34:17Speaker 2: of people who have said yes to your naked body
- 34:19Speaker 2: before so and sometimes it's an X from way way
- 34:24Speaker 2: far ago or way way long ago, or sometimes as
- 34:27Speaker 2: the person you just left. That's why people go back
- 34:29Speaker 2: to their significant others. When you break up with someone,
- 34:31Speaker 2: there's one less person to hug, text and hold okay,
- 34:35Speaker 2: and you have a void and your whole next step
- 34:40Speaker 2: is to try and fill that void because it feels bad.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And a lot of times people do it with the
- 34:45Speaker 2: person that they just left. That's why you get back
- 34:47Speaker 2: with an X or it's someone from your past right
- 34:52Speaker 2: that there's less to explain, you know, what do they say?
- 34:56Speaker 2: There's an economic I was an economics major in college.
- 34:59Speaker 2: I really put that to use. It's more expensive to
- 35:04Speaker 2: hire someone new than it is to retrain an old employee.
- 35:12Speaker 2: So that is the same for data. Yeah, so it's
- 35:15Speaker 2: way more expensive to go on hinge and go on
- 35:18Speaker 2: a first date and meet new person and get them
- 35:22Speaker 2: to trust you. That costs way more money than it
- 35:24Speaker 2: is to go back to someone who's already working at
- 35:27Speaker 2: the company. And you worked at his company. You knew him,
- 35:30Speaker 2: you trusted him, you had a familiarity with him, you
- 35:33Speaker 2: knew how the penis worked, you knew that he could fuck.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Yeah, like all these things that like aren't important, but
- 35:38Speaker 2: you knew.
- 35:40Speaker 1: You know who the hero is in this the front
- 35:43Speaker 1: my friend, your friend.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah, your friend is a true hero because they reminded
- 35:47Speaker 2: you of what you had already said.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, damn. Thank you for doing the boner episode.
