Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five wist and they
- 0:09Speaker 1: are a whistle.
- 0:10Speaker 2: So yeah, it's too bad, But what did you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles.
- 0:17Speaker 3: When they whine?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Anybody have a whistle? You do have one?
- 0:23Speaker 1: All right?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Kevin's running up. You gotta get a whistle here? Who
- 0:27Speaker 2: can whistle? First? What's up? Everybody? Brought to you by
- 0:29Speaker 2: DraftKings sportsbook and official sports betting partner of the NBA.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Download the DraftKings app and use to go Bobby Sports
- 0:35Speaker 2: to get back in the action. Hit it Kevin in
- 0:39Speaker 2: a small room that is loud. Coming up later. Former
- 0:42Speaker 2: MLB All Store eight time goal Glove winner Jim Edmonds.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Jim's also in the Cardinals Hall of Fame. We talked
- 0:47Speaker 2: about what do we do to get out of a
- 0:49Speaker 2: slump if rivalries are for real? With players too, his
- 0:52Speaker 2: love for country music and a whole bunch more so.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Jim Edmond's coming up. You can follow Jim on Instagram
- 0:57Speaker 2: at Jim Edmonds fifteen. But a lot of fun. Let's
- 1:00Speaker 2: start and just get it over with. I don't find
- 1:04Speaker 2: joy in this, Kevin, But what the heck's happening?
- 1:07Speaker 1: Bro?
- 1:07Speaker 2: With the Celtics. What I can't believe they lost. I
- 1:12Speaker 2: can't believe they lost. But yesterday, I can't believe the
- 1:15Speaker 2: lost that game and it was not even close, not
- 1:18Speaker 2: even that. I can't believe they blew it. I was
- 1:21Speaker 2: surprised it wasn't more of a game.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Later.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Yeah, that's maybe it's a heat of the moment thing
- 1:26Speaker 4: right now, But that's the lowest as far as embarrassing
- 1:30Speaker 4: moment I've had as a Celtics fan in quite some time.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Just not even showing up when your back's a goingst
- 1:34Speaker 4: a wall and just got smoked.
- 1:37Speaker 2: What are you blaming on the coaching?
- 1:38Speaker 4: Everything?
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's the easy out is the coaching.
- 1:41Speaker 4: And I get that because he didn't have them ready
- 1:43Speaker 4: to go and they should have been ready to go professional.
- 1:46Speaker 4: And that's why I come back to that where I'm like, well,
- 1:48Speaker 4: you have one of the top five players in the
- 1:49Speaker 4: NBA and Jason Tatum, like, that's on him to get
- 1:52Speaker 4: them to get going. Al Horford, he's a veteran, he's
- 1:54Speaker 4: been around a long time, been through a lot. That's
- 1:55Speaker 4: on him to get them going. So you can blame
- 1:58Speaker 4: the coach as much as you want when it comes
- 1:59Speaker 4: to getting them ready x's and o's and all that
- 2:02Speaker 4: and sposure we all know is way better code, which
- 2:03Speaker 4: is fine, but at least show you care. I mean,
- 2:06Speaker 4: don't get blown out from the get go and loose
- 2:08Speaker 4: balls and bad passes, and it just seemed like they
- 2:11Speaker 4: wanted to go home. They're ready to go to Cancun,
- 2:13Speaker 4: as they.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Say, do they win game four?
- 2:17Speaker 4: No, I have zero confidence.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Now. Oh man, Miami's kind of come out of nowhere
- 2:24Speaker 2: again playing team. We can't forget that. Yeah, they had
- 2:30Speaker 2: to play in and barely got in. I think the
- 2:32Speaker 2: Chicago game was close, right, I mean it feels like
- 2:34Speaker 2: ten years ago. But wasn't that Bulls game close? Yeah?
- 2:37Speaker 2: Uh so he rolled past Celtics won twenty eight, one
- 2:40Speaker 2: to oh two. They're up three to zero in the
- 2:41Speaker 2: Eastern Conference Finals. That is not good. I don't There's
- 2:44Speaker 2: never been anyone to come back. This goes for both series.
- 2:47Speaker 2: There's never been anybody come back from three ever. There's
- 2:50Speaker 2: been three one oh well, one to three, there's been
- 2:53Speaker 2: in baseball. Your team did it the Red Sox.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I know. And the funny thing is in Game three
- 2:56Speaker 4: against the Yankees that that season, they were down. I
- 2:59Speaker 4: think they lost like eighteen and nine in Game three,
- 3:01Speaker 4: and you were like, oh man, this is ugly. So
- 3:02Speaker 4: that's the only thing keeping me a little bit alive here.
- 3:04Speaker 4: I'm like, we've seen this before.
- 3:06Speaker 2: I also don't feel bad for any sort of Boston
- 3:08Speaker 2: sports fan. You're like, oh, it's the lowest in the
- 3:10Speaker 2: Eastern Conference Finals. We didn't show up for Game three.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Try being a Razorback fan or a Cubs fan your
- 3:17Speaker 2: whole life.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I did see going into this series. Fourteen years in
- 3:21Speaker 4: a row, a Boston major force sports team has made
- 3:23Speaker 4: it into the final four of their sport, whatever it
- 3:25Speaker 4: may be, which is pretty good.
- 3:27Speaker 2: You know, for you guys, though, it has been kind
- 3:29Speaker 2: of rough with the Bruins going down early early after
- 3:32Speaker 2: they had the greatest season ever. I don't think about hockey,
- 3:34Speaker 2: but even I know that was quite the collapse. Celtics
- 3:37Speaker 2: down O three. Listen, they still can no one's ever
- 3:41Speaker 2: done it before, but I guess they're still in it.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That's tough. Patriots, the whole Coordinator debacle. Yeah, it's been
- 3:50Speaker 2: pretty rough, but I say pretty rough as then you
- 3:52Speaker 2: had the greatest regular seas of all time, and then
- 3:54Speaker 2: also you're in the Eastern Conference Finals, so that's rough.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the way that they're going about it, though.
- 3:59Speaker 4: I mean, it was embarrassing to watch that team on
- 4:01Speaker 4: the court last night.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I felt bad. I don't even like to message people
- 4:05Speaker 2: when they lose because I don't like to be messaged.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I didn't hear anything from anybody that's respect then, yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 4: which I appreciate that.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That is respect. Nuggets and Lakers, and we'll get to
- 4:14Speaker 2: the title title on the second, but the Nuggets on Lakers,
- 4:16Speaker 2: same situation. I just expected the Lakers to win this
- 4:21Speaker 2: last game. If any back in La, I expected to
- 4:25Speaker 2: win Game three. Thought they may get lucky and win
- 4:28Speaker 2: one or two. They didn't. Okay, go back home and
- 4:30Speaker 2: win game three. Nope. It's ugly. It's like I don't
- 4:39Speaker 2: say men and boys, but it's like a team that
- 4:44Speaker 2: is highly skilled and have gone to practice versus a
- 4:47Speaker 2: team that's just really athletic and shows up Unlet's just
- 4:50Speaker 2: see what happens, and that's not what it is. That's
- 4:52Speaker 2: what it looks like to me, like a team that's
- 4:54Speaker 2: really well coached. The players know exactly the scheme they're running.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That if one of the two teams can do it, though,
- 5:01Speaker 2: I think the Lakers can do it over the Celtics. Yeah,
- 5:03Speaker 2: but I only think that because they have Lebron James.
- 5:05Speaker 2: That's it.
- 5:06Speaker 4: And they've shown somewhat of a fight.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Well, and they've done little Lebron's done three to one
- 5:10Speaker 2: before come back from that.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess the greatest team of all time.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And I don't think that's going to happen. But I'm
- 5:16Speaker 2: very disappointed in the Lakers.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Isn't that why the Lakers and the Celtics down O
- 5:20Speaker 4: three in the final.
- 5:21Speaker 2: It hates that.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Oh I can't stand it.
- 5:23Speaker 2: They the fact that Miami think about the Lakers and
- 5:27Speaker 2: Celtics if they were to play again, all the fun,
- 5:30Speaker 2: bird magic, mckam, I need all of that throughout the
- 5:35Speaker 2: year's history, Kareem and they getting either team and they
- 5:39Speaker 2: get Lebron of now brutal, but man, Denver looks so good.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yeah, they look awesome.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Denver has shooters, obviously, they have Jokic. It's like they
- 5:54Speaker 2: have a piece for every part of the puzzle that
- 5:56Speaker 2: you need to have whenever you just are putting together.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I watched the redeem team. I'll talk about a second,
- 6:03Speaker 2: but they put that team together for a reason, like
- 6:04Speaker 2: players did certain things. They didn't just go out and
- 6:06Speaker 2: grab a bunch of players who are the best players.
- 6:08Speaker 2: They got people who did certain things. And it's almost
- 6:11Speaker 2: like that's what the Nuggets did because whenever you start
- 6:15Speaker 2: to look at Aaron Gordon, he ain't gonna score a
- 6:19Speaker 2: lot of points, but man, he's gonna be in the
- 6:21Speaker 2: right place at the right time. He's gonna play defense.
- 6:23Speaker 2: He's They didn't ask him to score a lot of points,
- 6:27Speaker 2: but he Aaron Gordon goes the whole game, dude, I know,
- 6:32Speaker 2: like he's jack U KCP call well Pope. He shoots
- 6:38Speaker 2: elite and when they close it on Jokic, okay, just
- 6:43Speaker 2: toss it on out. So between him, Michael Porter, Junior
- 6:51Speaker 2: Denver is so much better than I guess. I won't
- 6:54Speaker 2: say that we give them credit for, but nobody just
- 6:56Speaker 2: cared because they've never won. They're in a small market.
- 6:59Speaker 2: They don't have any crazy marketable star, or at least
- 7:03Speaker 2: one that's been marketed to us. Your kids look like
- 7:06Speaker 2: somebody's uncle. Jamal Murray. Is he elite? Is he's been
- 7:11Speaker 2: playing like it when they play their two man game.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I don't know how he stopped it, because as soon
- 7:17Speaker 2: as they bring in a third guy aggressively to try
- 7:20Speaker 2: to stop if it's a pick and roll up top
- 7:22Speaker 2: or they got two shooters. It's crazy.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Yeah, they look really They're very surprising to me.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Austin Reeves awesome though, I know the fact that they're
- 7:32Speaker 2: not giving him the ball more and saying, hey, go
- 7:35Speaker 2: do your thing.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I think Russell's been pretty bad lately, Daniel Angela Russell. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 4: Austin Reeve is gonna make He's gonna do pretty well. Yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 4: he's gonna do pretty well well. I hate that for
- 7:45Speaker 4: you guys. Thanks man.
- 7:47Speaker 2: If anything, I have a new appreciation for the Nuggets
- 7:51Speaker 2: and Jimmy Butler.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, well, I guess we'll get into it. But
- 7:56Speaker 4: I can't hate Jimmy Butler. I've tried.
- 7:57Speaker 2: There's no way to hate Jimmy Butler. He's not done anything.
- 8:00Speaker 2: It just be that dude, that's it. Yeah, that game
- 8:05Speaker 2: two whenever your boy was talking trash to Butler.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Grant Williams.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, when that was happening, were you like, don't don't,
- 8:18Speaker 2: don't wake the Giant.
- 8:19Speaker 4: No, I really didn't hate it, And I even texted
- 8:22Speaker 4: this to my dad and my brother during the time
- 8:23Speaker 4: they hated it. They were like, shut up, Grant, blah
- 8:25Speaker 4: blah blah. And I was thinking the same thing as
- 8:27Speaker 4: some other people were thinking. Were at least, he's so
- 8:29Speaker 4: showing something because you showed a little fight, and I
- 8:31Speaker 4: know you wake the bear quote unquote, but guess what,
- 8:33Speaker 4: we have a bear too in Jason Tatum. I don't
- 8:35Speaker 4: know the bear, So Jason, you gotta wake up too.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I was just glad to see somebody had some fight,
- 8:40Speaker 4: some type of anger, some type of emotion, because the
- 8:43Speaker 4: rest of the team has no emotion.
- 8:45Speaker 2: It's it's bad undrafted players on the Heat roster. The
- 8:49Speaker 2: Heat currently have four key contributors that went undrafted. That's
- 8:53Speaker 2: and the reason I had even thought to care about
- 8:55Speaker 2: this was Caleb Martin. Yeah, who was just contributed did
- 9:01Speaker 2: all playoffs a lot of these guys. You're like, it's
- 9:04Speaker 2: Jimmy and the rest, But I mean, these guys are
- 9:09Speaker 2: all playing pretty consistent. But Kayla Martin from Nevada has
- 9:14Speaker 2: just been there and whatever they've needed from him, he's
- 9:17Speaker 2: given them nothing spectacular but ten points here, six seven
- 9:21Speaker 2: rebounds there. Jimmy Butler thirtieth pick from Marquette bam Adebayo
- 9:25Speaker 2: thirteenth pick from Kentucky. This is Miami. Duncan Robinson undrafted
- 9:30Speaker 2: from Michigan. Boy, he made a bunch of money for
- 9:32Speaker 2: undrafted Duncan Robbins made him, didn't He just get paid
- 9:36Speaker 2: big time?
- 9:38Speaker 4: Him or Hero?
- 9:40Speaker 2: Maybe both? Look up Duncan Robbinson much money. I know
- 9:42Speaker 2: Hero got paid.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I know Hero got paid after that bubble. I
- 9:45Speaker 4: want to say earlier year after.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Gabe Vincent undrafted from that House Berkeley.
- 9:53Speaker 4: No, University of California, Santa.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Barbara, Santa Barbara got it. God dang, we don't even
- 9:58Speaker 2: know the initials and they're undrafted. That's a trouble. Max
- 10:02Speaker 2: strust And drafted from Nepaul Kayla Martin I drafted from Nevada.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Caul Lowry twenty fourth pick from Memphis. Kevin Love fifth
- 10:08Speaker 2: pick from UCLA. Kevin Love's old. He actually isn't, but
- 10:13Speaker 2: he's just been around for so long.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Lowry's older. Well draft year. Lowry was two years before that.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I did not even realize telling her of fourteenth we
- 10:20Speaker 4: t what do you make Mike?
- 10:21Speaker 2: I still got nothing. I got an internet over here?
- 10:23Speaker 2: You have no internet? No, that's it? Red, Do you
- 10:26Speaker 2: have anything over there, I can check everybody. Well, I
- 10:29Speaker 2: can check everybody. Everybody failed me. Kevin and I are
- 10:31Speaker 2: trying to do a good sports show over here. Now,
- 10:33Speaker 2: if your nets down, Mike, I blame Reid because he
- 10:35Speaker 2: had a cell phone.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Duncan, Oh, mine's.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Are we down? Duncan Robinson salary. I don't know if
- 10:48Speaker 2: you guys know this. In my my internet's then it
- 10:52Speaker 2: just said you want to use cellular data? Well, yes
- 10:53Speaker 2: I do. Let's see it. Are you been getting that?
- 10:56Speaker 2: Even myself? Dad is a world ending yes? Oh, here
- 11:00Speaker 2: we go. H let's see Doucan robins side five year,
- 11:04Speaker 2: ninety million dollar contract with the Heat, including eighty million
- 11:07Speaker 2: guaranteed an average salary of almost twenty million dollars. Oh yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 2: I feel like he be paid undrafted. I mean that's
- 11:12Speaker 2: what reads about to happen. Eastern marketsall too didn't play
- 11:16Speaker 2: in versus Arkansas wasn't good enough apparently to which shall stay?
- 11:21Speaker 4: Oh Austin Reas Yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, I think you
- 11:23Speaker 4: said read for a second.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Reads, I'll read him.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Hey reach tall though, Yeah that is maybe Boston's roster
- 11:33Speaker 2: Jayalen Brown third pick out of cow poor for third
- 11:35Speaker 2: pick out of Florida, Mark Smart sixth pick out Oklahoma State,
- 11:39Speaker 2: Tatum third pick out of Duke, and they got a
- 11:41Speaker 2: lot of high Those four dudes were picked higher than
- 11:43Speaker 2: anybody on the Miami team.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Well, good luck to Yeah, I don't care. I mean,
- 11:49Speaker 2: I would like to see Boston win because it's your team,
- 11:51Speaker 2: but I don't really have any sort of personal interest there. Thanks,
- 11:55Speaker 2: but I hope you win. Thank you, But that'd be tough.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Very all right, Let's go to the till Tattle name
- 12:03Speaker 2: ever the ttle Tuttle.
- 12:11Speaker 4: There's a lot of talk over the weekend with how
- 12:13Speaker 4: difficult the course was PJ Championship Oak Hill. What's the
- 12:16Speaker 4: toughest course you've ever played?
- 12:18Speaker 2: You see the ball going to the rough? Yeah, I
- 12:20Speaker 2: mean it almost literally disappear down that there was a
- 12:26Speaker 2: ball that was plugged in the sand. Was a Scheffler, Nope,
- 12:30Speaker 2: it was the guy that finished behind uh Hobland, didn't
- 12:35Speaker 2: Hobblin hit one of the sand of it completely?
- 12:36Speaker 4: It was gone right?
- 12:37Speaker 2: Yes, now not the same, that's just I think bad luck.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Where the rough was so bad, are so long purposefully
- 12:45Speaker 2: that the ball would get lost there with a lot
- 12:46Speaker 2: of lost balls or a lot of balls hard to find.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Hardest course ever played was probably the Blessings Course, which
- 12:51Speaker 2: is in Arkansas and Fayetteville, for two reasons. One, they
- 12:55Speaker 2: had kind of said before it went up there, head,
- 12:56Speaker 2: it's a really hard course, but it's really nice. I
- 12:58Speaker 2: think it's the University of Arkansas course like home course. Secondly,
- 13:02Speaker 2: I'd hurt my shoulder playing basketball in the University of
- 13:07Speaker 2: parksas basket ball arena because they gave a towist my
- 13:10Speaker 2: bachelor party the whole thing. We played for hours, right, yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it's fine, turned it all on. It's crazy. We never
- 13:15Speaker 2: really got to talk about it. Probably not supposed to now,
- 13:17Speaker 2: but who cares. They gave me the whole thing. They
- 13:19Speaker 2: turned on all this thing, picture music, had the locker
- 13:23Speaker 2: room all fill of food. It was an amazing thing.
- 13:25Speaker 2: One of the most special days for my bachelor party.
- 13:28Speaker 2: That being said, I hurt my shoulder and then I
- 13:30Speaker 2: went out in the first few all the Canda Swing
- 13:31Speaker 2: golf Club. So the course seemed hard and I just
- 13:34Speaker 2: couldn't move, But everybody else was like, that was a
- 13:36Speaker 2: really hard course. I wish I could have experienced it.
- 13:39Speaker 4: I wish I had more than one reason for you
- 13:40Speaker 4: that's right, all right. Next question after Michael Block's memorable
- 13:43Speaker 4: hole in one on day four, you have a most
- 13:46Speaker 4: memorable shot.
- 13:47Speaker 2: That shot by the way, because he didn't see it
- 13:50Speaker 2: go in and I was watching it and neither did
- 13:52Speaker 2: I because it went straight dunk, it went right in
- 13:55Speaker 2: the hole, meaning and if it had just to the
- 13:57Speaker 2: left or right of the whole thing, but it flew
- 13:59Speaker 2: on by, but it went straight in the hole. Crazy.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I've never even seen a hole of one, never had one,
- 14:04Speaker 2: never seen one. Really cool to see him because that
- 14:09Speaker 2: shot actually is what got him into next year's because
- 14:11Speaker 2: he finished top fifteen, and had he not hit the
- 14:13Speaker 2: whole of one, he'd have been two shots on the
- 14:16Speaker 2: wrong way of it. So, for me, most memorable shot
- 14:19Speaker 2: not even on a yeah, I like in a actual round.
- 14:24Speaker 2: When I went to Pebble Beach last year, we did
- 14:27Speaker 2: the Par three Celebrity Part three Championship and everybody was there,
- 14:30Speaker 2: like forty people, and I was in the round with
- 14:32Speaker 2: Aaron Rodgers, and I remember who else was in my group,
- 14:35Speaker 2: but I just not beat Aaron Rodgers. But I'm up
- 14:38Speaker 2: on the pedestal and it's, you know, one twenty or
- 14:41Speaker 2: so away, everybody's sitting at the par three nervous as
- 14:44Speaker 2: crap could feel it. I was feeling so nervous that
- 14:49Speaker 2: I did a whole bit where I changed balls. I
- 14:53Speaker 2: only did that so I could calm down because I
- 14:54Speaker 2: had a white ball, and I was like, I got
- 14:56Speaker 2: up to the ball and I was just like, oh,
- 14:58Speaker 2: I don't even know. I got people everywhere. Ain't that good?
- 15:01Speaker 1: Anyway?
- 15:02Speaker 2: I was like, so I reached my pocket, I pulled
- 15:04Speaker 2: out a pink ball. I was like, I'm changing balls,
- 15:06Speaker 2: and I put it down switchballs. I just did that
- 15:07Speaker 2: to kind of regroup. Yeah, and then I stuck at
- 15:09Speaker 2: like ten feet from the pin and I won my
- 15:13Speaker 2: round and I got to the finals. I think I
- 15:15Speaker 2: finished maybe third overall out of forty because I hit
- 15:19Speaker 2: My next round shot was pretty good too, but nothing
- 15:21Speaker 2: like that first one. Jim Nance is calling it. You
- 15:23Speaker 2: hear him, He's like, not.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Why.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I kind of blacked out right when I swung and
- 15:31Speaker 2: it landed. I was like, oh my god. I wasn't
- 15:33Speaker 2: happy that I did well. I was happy I didn't
- 15:36Speaker 2: humiliate myself and hit somebody or miss completely.
- 15:38Speaker 4: That would be so nerve wracking for me people around me.
- 15:41Speaker 2: It was really nerve wracking.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Yeah, no way.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And I don't get nervous for performing as much, nearly
- 15:49Speaker 2: as much as I used to. I mean I used
- 15:51Speaker 2: to be nervous, specially when started doing standout, where I
- 15:53Speaker 2: started doing music. It's kind of hard to be nervous now,
- 15:56Speaker 2: even live TV. I wouldn't even call it nervous. It's
- 15:59Speaker 2: just kind of like an excited energy more than it's nervous,
- 16:02Speaker 2: because I'm not I've done it enough to know that
- 16:04Speaker 2: the worst thing that can happen, I'm still gonna be okay.
- 16:07Speaker 2: So once you've done it in repetition that many times,
- 16:09Speaker 2: it doesn't matter what it is, and you're comfortable because
- 16:13Speaker 2: you know, as bad as it gets, you're still gonna
- 16:14Speaker 2: be all right. And that's it's it is worst. You're fine,
- 16:17Speaker 2: You're loose. I wasn't loose there, Hey, I wasn't lose
- 16:21Speaker 2: like of a shot though. It's on my Instagram if
- 16:23Speaker 2: you guys want to scroll back and see it. But boy,
- 16:25Speaker 2: it was a tough one. Boy, it was a tough one,
- 16:28Speaker 2: all right. Go ahead.
- 16:28Speaker 4: There's a lot of hype around Victor Wimbanyama. Hopefully I'm
- 16:31Speaker 4: saying that right, Going to the Spurs in the upcoming draft.
- 16:34Speaker 4: Who's the most hype athlete you remember of any sport?
- 16:37Speaker 2: It's easy to probably say Lebron. And I'm a little
- 16:39Speaker 2: older than you, so you probably don't remember Lebron being
- 16:41Speaker 2: on Sports Illustrated. Oh I do, Yeah, I do.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I was what twelve, thirteen, eleven, So yeah, no,
- 16:46Speaker 4: I do. I remember. The hype was huge for him.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Yeah, it was the first high school games. I think
- 16:50Speaker 2: that we're on ESPN when they would show just those Irish,
- 16:54Speaker 2: the Green Irish. But to me, that's not who I'm picking.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Im picking Bryce Harper because I remember him being a
- 17:01Speaker 2: high school kid and then being on Sports Illustrated and
- 17:04Speaker 2: how he went to the wood Bat League instead of
- 17:07Speaker 2: I just remember all he lived in Las Vegas. It
- 17:09Speaker 2: was Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper, Bryce Harper, and he's one
- 17:12Speaker 2: of those rare athletes that did what they were supposed
- 17:16Speaker 2: to do, maybe more. I mean, think about the ype
- 17:17Speaker 2: of Lebron and what he's been able to do. He
- 17:19Speaker 2: met and achieved more than the hype would have led
- 17:24Speaker 2: you to believe, and nobody ever reaches their hype level.
- 17:28Speaker 2: So I'm gonna go Bryce Harper, and he did it,
- 17:31Speaker 2: and Lebron and he did it. But look at Tiger
- 17:34Speaker 2: Woods too. Ticker's won every amateur championship for years college
- 17:40Speaker 2: and he did it.
- 17:41Speaker 4: See I don't remember the Tiger hype.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a different kind of hype. It was
- 17:45Speaker 2: like this kid just wins everything.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It wasn't like wait till you see what this kid does.
- 17:49Speaker 2: He was already doing it at that level, just dominating everybody,
- 17:53Speaker 2: even in college. So then he went pro and he
- 17:56Speaker 2: just kept on. So it wasn't so much hype as
- 17:59Speaker 2: it is look at how great he is right now
- 18:02Speaker 2: and he's probably just gonna keep going. Different kind of hype.
- 18:04Speaker 2: It was more like an excitement for this how good
- 18:06Speaker 2: he was going to get instead of we have crazy
- 18:09Speaker 2: projections of this guy.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Which is crazy too because you never hear that with
- 18:12Speaker 4: a golfer, right, I mean, is there any other golfer
- 18:14Speaker 4: that you remember when there were young college coming up?
- 18:17Speaker 4: Do you really hear about even the speech or the.
- 18:20Speaker 2: It's just not a sport that is consumed by enough
- 18:26Speaker 2: people that enough people are going to care that it's
- 18:28Speaker 2: going to develop into something everybody's whispering about talking about
- 18:31Speaker 2: when Binianna's type stuff where they're like, he's the greatest
- 18:34Speaker 2: possible player in any sport. He's a great of all time,
- 18:38Speaker 2: and he maybe seven to five. I saw him next
- 18:40Speaker 2: to Rudy Gobert. Do you see him standing next Rudy Gobert.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah, he made him look normal.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Yeah, like not sure, but made Rudy Gobert, who's over
- 18:48Speaker 2: seven foot tall, just look pedestrian. It was crazy. So
- 18:52Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with Bryce Harper. But I like Bryce
- 18:54Speaker 2: all right.
- 18:54Speaker 4: Next last one here, we talked about Jimmy Butler and
- 18:56Speaker 4: how much he's loved. Who's the most liked or loved
- 18:59Speaker 4: athlete you can remember?
- 19:01Speaker 2: We talk about Tiger. The weird thing about Tiger is
- 19:03Speaker 2: of all the shady stuff he's been up to and done,
- 19:06Speaker 2: and the bad ways he's treated people, not even people
- 19:08Speaker 2: that he's been having sex with. So love him. I
- 19:11Speaker 2: love him, I root for him. So I think Tiger
- 19:16Speaker 2: because when you look at all the crap he's done
- 19:20Speaker 2: to himself to others, and the fact that he's so
- 19:22Speaker 2: universally loved bulletproof. So I'm gonna go Tiger Woods. Michael Jordan,
- 19:30Speaker 2: even kids didn't get to see him play. Love him
- 19:31Speaker 2: because the brand. But yeah, I'm gonna go Tiger Jordan.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I was not a Michael Jordan guy because I didn't
- 19:39Speaker 2: like the Bulls because they won all the time. It
- 19:41Speaker 2: annoyed me, So I was not I was the rare
- 19:44Speaker 2: non Jordan guy. Who who do you think it is?
- 19:47Speaker 4: I would probably go with Tiger off the top of
- 19:49Speaker 4: my head. I think Steph's another big one.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Yes, very loveable. Yeah, I like st.
- 19:52Speaker 4: Everyone likes Steph. I've even last year when they beat
- 19:54Speaker 4: the Celtics in the finals, I was like, it's just
- 19:56Speaker 4: Steph Curry, Like, Okay, that's cool.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he's hard to dislike it.
- 19:59Speaker 4: Like it's just like Jimmy.
- 20:00Speaker 2: That's the tittle tattle.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Thank you name ever.
- 20:04Speaker 2: The tittle Tattle with a reminder of the twenty five

- 20:17Speaker 2: in them you may not, but have faith in them.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I'm going Boston plus a point and a half because
- 20:22Speaker 2: they're getting a point a half, and then I'm going
- 20:24Speaker 2: under two sixteen because I think for them to win it.
- 20:27Speaker 2: They just can't allow Miami to say, I'm just this
- 20:30Speaker 2: is only a Boston's got a win bet more than like,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I believe it in my bones. I'm going, this is
- 20:35Speaker 2: my bet here, it's my parlay Boston plus point and
- 20:37Speaker 2: a half and under two sixteen. I just can't see
- 20:39Speaker 2: them losing it again. I can't Kevin and the heat.
- 20:43Speaker 4: There's no way they can say that hot right.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Or that motivated human nature. So build the twenty half
- 20:50Speaker 2: whistles parlay. Get in there. We built it for you.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Plus one and a half Boston under two sixteen.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Go.
- 20:58Speaker 2: I don't know, I doubt I'm trying to really give
- 21:01Speaker 2: you like some I know, I bet it just because.
- 21:04Speaker 4: I want him to win, like my hypeman over here.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I know. But the more I talk about it, I'm
- 21:08Speaker 2: just like, it's what a four Kno, But I'd said,
- 21:10Speaker 2: I said what I said plus one and a half
- 21:12Speaker 2: under two sixteen. If you want to take twenty five

- 21:36Speaker 2: I love baseball. I love Jim Edmonds, even though I
- 21:40Speaker 2: hated him, it was respect. I hated the Cardinals. Being
- 21:44Speaker 2: a Cubs fan, you hate the Cardinals, but I just
- 21:46Speaker 2: always wish we had Jim Edmonds. He is so good.
- 21:48Speaker 2: He'd track down any boy. I just he's making those
- 21:50Speaker 2: over the shoulder catches running straight back center for William
- 21:53Speaker 2: May style catches. So this is us with former MLB
- 21:56Speaker 2: All Star and Cardinals Hall of Famer Jim Edmonds, which
- 21:59Speaker 2: we talk about I hate for the Cardinals growing up
- 22:01Speaker 2: as a Cubs fan, how much I rooted against him
- 22:03Speaker 2: because he was so good. It was a root against,
- 22:05Speaker 2: but it was a respect. He wants to move to Nashville.
- 22:08Speaker 2: We talk about that country music. You can follow Jim
- 22:10Speaker 2: on Instagram at Jim Edmunds fifteen. Man, it's cool for
- 22:14Speaker 2: me here he is Jim Edmonds. Jim, what's up man?
- 22:18Speaker 3: Hey?
- 22:18Speaker 1: How are you hey? Good?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Let me tell you I used to hate you, man.
- 22:21Speaker 2: I used to hate your guts because I was a
- 22:22Speaker 2: massive I grew up a Cubs fan. I'm gonna tell
- 22:25Speaker 2: you watching you track down balls constant, Oh, it would
- 22:29Speaker 2: kill me. I knew no ball was safe. It didn't matter.
- 22:32Speaker 2: You couldn't you couldn't gap you, you couldn't do anything
- 22:35Speaker 2: that was also respect. So it is an honor to
- 22:38Speaker 2: talk to you, Jim, because he drove me crazy as
- 22:41Speaker 2: a kid. But man, did you ever think I just
- 22:44Speaker 2: think there wasn't a ball you couldn't catch? Did you
- 22:46Speaker 2: feel like that out there?
- 22:48Speaker 3: Yeah? Sometimes I really did. I thought that that was
- 22:51Speaker 3: like kind of my goal or kind of my.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Job, you know what I mean.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Your job is to do whatever you're doing the best
- 22:58Speaker 3: to your ability, and I just thought that was my
- 23:01Speaker 3: I took pride in it, just like anything else.
- 23:03Speaker 2: You know, when you were coming up were you I think,
- 23:06Speaker 2: what do you have eight gold gloves? If I tell
- 23:08Speaker 2: me if I'm wrong? Okay? When you were coming up
- 23:10Speaker 2: through you know, miners, even playing as a teenager, were
- 23:13Speaker 2: you that guy as well that could track down balls
- 23:15Speaker 2: in the outfield or were you such an athlete you
- 23:17Speaker 2: just played wherever they put you.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I think a little bit of both. I know I
- 23:21Speaker 3: grew up playing soccer, grew up playing football, a little
- 23:24Speaker 3: bit of basketball and baseball, but we practiced a lot.
- 23:27Speaker 3: And I always thought that because I practiced so much
- 23:32Speaker 3: on an open field, that I used to run around
- 23:34Speaker 3: the outfield and chase balls from the other guys that
- 23:37Speaker 3: would hit, And so I think that that helped a lot.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Was there a when you got to the majors? Was
- 23:44Speaker 2: there initially some sort of adjustment to speed or were
- 23:48Speaker 2: you just naturally there already, as you know, a young
- 23:51Speaker 2: twenty year old.
- 23:52Speaker 3: I think the minor leagues, you know, help each level.
- 23:55Speaker 3: And when I got drafted, I was only seventeen, so
- 23:58Speaker 3: that first year rookie ball and then a ball, and
- 24:01Speaker 3: then a ball again, and then double A and then
- 24:04Speaker 3: triple A. It's I don't know, it's kind of like,
- 24:07Speaker 3: you know, like I mean, do you think you're ready
- 24:09Speaker 3: for doing what you were doing when you were working
- 24:12Speaker 3: in Arkansas?
- 24:13Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 24:14Speaker 2: But I still don't think I'm ready to do what
- 24:16Speaker 2: I'm doing nowhere you could see you just with our
- 24:19Speaker 2: eyeballs crushing it. I completely understand your point, Like I'm mature.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I had a friend, Greg Swndell, who talked about coming
- 24:25Speaker 2: up and you know, very brief in the majors. His
- 24:27Speaker 2: first start, he goes out and he just destroys people
- 24:30Speaker 2: and he's pitching. He's like, this is this is easy.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Second game he got lit up hard and he was like, oh,
- 24:34Speaker 2: this is not easy. And I was completely wrong. Yeah,
- 24:37Speaker 2: but that his adjustment was was wrong. At first he thought, Wow,
- 24:41Speaker 2: this is crazy, this is so easy. But then it
- 24:43Speaker 2: turns out it was a lot harder than he thought.
- 24:44Speaker 2: I just wonder what that adjustments like when you get
- 24:46Speaker 2: up to pro ball.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Well, wow, when I first pro ball is huge because
- 24:51Speaker 3: coming from high school, you know, you're basically facing basic
- 24:56Speaker 3: pictures back in those days. It's a little different now,
- 24:59Speaker 3: but you know, a guy would throw a fastball and
- 25:01Speaker 3: a curve ball, and that was basically it. And when
- 25:03Speaker 3: I got to pro ball, I was I hadn't quite
- 25:05Speaker 3: turned eighteen yet, I was late for my senior year,
- 25:09Speaker 3: and then I was facing guys out of junior college,
- 25:11Speaker 3: out of college and sliders velocity. I think got struck
- 25:15Speaker 3: out man probably seventy five percent of my first fifty
- 25:19Speaker 3: at bats.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It was tough, it really was.
- 25:21Speaker 3: It was like and that was just in the minor
- 25:23Speaker 3: that was just the lowest level of the minor league.
- 25:25Speaker 3: So I think after you know, like I said, year
- 25:27Speaker 3: by year and day by day, you just kind of
- 25:30Speaker 3: pick it up, and I guess you either do or
- 25:33Speaker 3: you don't.
- 25:33Speaker 2: You know, when I think back to some of your plays,
- 25:36Speaker 2: just going from memory here, I think when I think
- 25:37Speaker 2: about the most is not even a Cubs game, it's
- 25:39Speaker 2: a NLCS against the Astros. And when you would make
- 25:43Speaker 2: plays in the outfield that were I mean really the
- 25:46Speaker 2: ones where you would just take off running like Willie
- 25:48Speaker 2: May style with your back to the bat, like that's
- 25:50Speaker 2: what I visualize you doing over and over again. But
- 25:53Speaker 2: some of those plays, did you ever wonder do I
- 25:54Speaker 2: actually have the ball or not? Because they were just
- 25:57Speaker 2: like so extended.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Well, I'll tell you what it is. Don't let it
- 26:00Speaker 1: fall out.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I mean, I think if you were to catch up
- 26:04Speaker 3: on maybe the play in Kansas City, you can see
- 26:07Speaker 3: my first reaction was to reach in my glove with
- 26:10Speaker 3: my bare hand because I thought, man, if I run
- 26:12Speaker 3: all this way and the ball pops out of my glove.
- 26:15Speaker 1: I am gonna be pissed. So that was kind of
- 26:18Speaker 1: that was kind of the thing.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You know, you watch you still watch highlights day and
- 26:23Speaker 3: guys will dive and the ball will bounce out or
- 26:25Speaker 3: jump up and knock.
- 26:26Speaker 1: The ball out the wall. So that was my biggest fear.
- 26:29Speaker 3: So unless I hit the pocket perfect, I definitely try
- 26:32Speaker 3: to throw my other hand in there.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Did you ever do the thing where you were winning
- 26:35Speaker 2: by ten runs or losing by ten runs and you
- 26:37Speaker 2: would go on to pitch a little bit as like
- 26:39Speaker 2: the okay, we don't want to waste anyone that's in
- 26:41Speaker 2: the ballpen. Did you ever do that at all?
- 26:42Speaker 3: I did it once in the minor leagues. I was
- 26:45Speaker 3: a pitcher growing up my whole life, and it's all
- 26:47Speaker 3: I ever wanted to do was to pitch one game
- 26:50Speaker 3: in the big leagues. And I never did I think that.
- 26:54Speaker 3: When I got to Saint Louis, LaRussa knew that I
- 26:56Speaker 3: would probably throw my arm out trying too hard, so he, uh,
- 27:01Speaker 3: he wouldn't let me do it. But he wasn't too
- 27:04Speaker 3: keen on that as much as they are nowadays. He
- 27:06Speaker 3: was a little bit more like, we're gonna, you know,
- 27:09Speaker 3: we're gonna gut this out what we got and if
- 27:11Speaker 3: it's really bad, then we'll just use somebody literally like
- 27:15Speaker 3: a reserve infielder that just knows that they won't go
- 27:18Speaker 3: out and hurt themselves. But no, I was always my uh,
- 27:22Speaker 3: it was always my biggest dream.
- 27:24Speaker 2: What was coach LaRussa like day to day? I just
- 27:28Speaker 2: you know, from being with Oakland and Canseko maguire and
- 27:30Speaker 2: all those guys to then being with the Cardinals. His
- 27:34Speaker 2: every day demeanor from afar seems very stoic. What was
- 27:38Speaker 2: he like every single day?
- 27:40Speaker 1: Same? Same it was? It was uh. I told him
- 27:44Speaker 1: one time when he finally retired, I said, you know,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you have a pretty good personality. Too bad baseball ruined
- 27:48Speaker 1: it for you. But but he was.
- 27:51Speaker 3: He was like, hey, how you doing And he said,
- 27:53Speaker 3: I'll let you know after the game. You know, every
- 27:55Speaker 3: day it was just his whole life was about winning
- 27:58Speaker 3: that day, that game, learning being better. It was incredible.
- 28:05Speaker 3: It made me such a better person and player and human.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And you know, he was like a father, even at
- 28:13Speaker 3: twenty nine, thirty thirty one years old. He was just
- 28:16Speaker 3: such a teacher, still in a motivator. I thought it
- 28:18Speaker 3: was it was pretty awesome to be around. I you know,
- 28:23Speaker 3: I'm not surprised, but you know your sports and there's
- 28:26Speaker 3: very few guys like that. You know, you can think
- 28:28Speaker 3: of the top coaches out there in the world, right
- 28:30Speaker 3: you think you're Belichick's and guys like that, maybe you're
- 28:34Speaker 3: Andy Reeves now in the NFL. And you think about
- 28:36Speaker 3: there as a couple of guys in college and there's
- 28:39Speaker 3: not too many guys like that in baseball anymore. And
- 28:41Speaker 3: they're just they get the best out of you think,
- 28:43Speaker 3: because they have learned from a lot of different people,
- 28:46Speaker 3: and they really they're really focusing on all the details.
- 28:49Speaker 1: And I think that's why some.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Of those coaches are always, you know, the same coaches
- 28:54Speaker 3: are always successful year.
- 28:56Speaker 1: In a year out.
- 28:57Speaker 2: When I think about coaches that I've seen from far obviously,
- 29:01Speaker 2: but it's like Tommy Lesorda in LA, it's Tony Laruss,
- 29:06Speaker 2: you know, with the bash Brothers in Oakland obviously those teams,
- 29:08Speaker 2: and then with Saint Louis it's even Dusty Baker. Now
- 29:13Speaker 2: what are those guys to you? What do they have
- 29:15Speaker 2: in common that creates this longevity and also this respect,
- 29:19Speaker 2: the seeming respect and you know, within the team all
- 29:24Speaker 2: the time.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I think that one thing as a leader, I think
- 29:28Speaker 3: you can't do is ever waiver.
- 29:30Speaker 1: And I think.
- 29:32Speaker 3: The things that those guys do is you know that
- 29:35Speaker 3: they don't waiver. They always have your back no matter what.
- 29:39Speaker 3: That comes first. You know, the players come first, the
- 29:42Speaker 3: game comes second. It's like a family, and so you
- 29:45Speaker 3: respect that. And then they give you feedback that you
- 29:50Speaker 3: need and they treat you like a man, you know,
- 29:52Speaker 3: and they expect the best out of you. But they
- 29:55Speaker 3: also know that there's going to be days you're not
- 29:57Speaker 3: your best.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Would you go and say, hey, I'm not feeling good?
- 30:00Speaker 2: Can I take the day off? One hundred and sixty two?
- 30:02Speaker 2: Anythings in a year? Yeah, is a lot, Like how
- 30:05Speaker 2: does that conversation go with one of those guys?
- 30:07Speaker 3: You know, It's funny, it's it usually goes the other
- 30:09Speaker 3: way around. They'll say, like, you look, you know, he
- 30:11Speaker 3: don't look like you're up the standards.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Last couple of days and give a day off, and
- 30:16Speaker 1: you're like, you know, you.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Take pride in playing every days. You know, I would
- 30:20Speaker 3: think like for you, same thing. You know, you have
- 30:22Speaker 3: big weekends and you've got to wake up on Monday morning,
- 30:24Speaker 3: and I'm sure there's days you're just like, oh my gosh,
- 30:27Speaker 3: I just got to do this. And then you get
- 30:29Speaker 3: there and it's just like, you know, here's the show,
- 30:31Speaker 3: here we go. But yeah, there's no really back in
- 30:34Speaker 3: those days, if you ask for a day off, you
- 30:36Speaker 3: might not get another day to play. So I remember
- 30:38Speaker 3: wanted to come out of the lineup. You know, there
- 30:41Speaker 3: was a guy named Wally Pip. I'm sure you're very
- 30:43Speaker 3: familiar with.
- 30:45Speaker 2: How lu Gary got so famous, I mean, got hurt
- 30:49Speaker 2: and all of a sudden, well let's replace some with
- 30:50Speaker 2: this young guy for a little bit, lou Gary who
- 30:52Speaker 2: then turns in one of the greatest of all time
- 30:53Speaker 2: Hall of Famer. That story is so legendary, the Wally
- 30:56Speaker 2: Pip story. But was Wally really that good though, Jim,
- 30:59Speaker 2: that's the question I ask. But couldn't they put him
- 31:01Speaker 2: somewhere else? He was so good?
- 31:03Speaker 3: And that's true actually right nowadays they would be like, okay,
- 31:06Speaker 3: well we'll put you in right field and red field.
- 31:09Speaker 3: But clearly he wasn't as good as the rest of
- 31:12Speaker 3: the guys. And I think it makes for a great
- 31:15Speaker 3: story though, doesn't it.
- 31:16Speaker 1: I think about it.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Yeah, And that story is held up forever because the
- 31:19Speaker 2: freaking iron Horse, like he's the dude they made movies
- 31:23Speaker 2: about him. They Yeah, so Wally pipped to me, he's
- 31:26Speaker 2: like the Beatle Pete Best, you know, the original drummer.
- 31:28Speaker 2: It's oh, you're like, man, what could have been? Who
- 31:31Speaker 2: knows what Pete Best would have done if he had
- 31:34Speaker 2: just you know, if he would have been kicked out
- 31:35Speaker 2: of the Beatles before they got famous.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Well, there's a lot of that, right, I mean, there's
- 31:39Speaker 3: in your business, in every business, and how many how
- 31:41Speaker 3: many band members do you think stepped aside before somebody
- 31:45Speaker 3: got big or couldn't do it anymore because they weren't
- 31:47Speaker 3: making enough money to survive and had a family. Maybe
- 31:50Speaker 3: before these guys were you know, single and having fun.
- 31:53Speaker 1: I mean, gosh, you can.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Probably there's probably millions of stories like that.
- 31:58Speaker 2: My manager was a rummer for a and heat. My
- 32:01Speaker 2: manager's fifty now, but he was a drummer for a
- 32:03Speaker 2: pretty famous band. And he got out about three months
- 32:06Speaker 2: before they hit and signed the record deal because again,
- 32:09Speaker 2: he just wanted to be They were broke, they were poor,
- 32:11Speaker 2: and he was like, I can't do it. We have
- 32:13Speaker 2: a kid coming. So he got he got out and
- 32:16Speaker 2: then like three months later they hit big. And it's
- 32:19Speaker 2: crazy to think that he was like, I just I
- 32:21Speaker 2: can't but I imagine that happens with ballplayers too. Some
- 32:24Speaker 2: right where you're playing in the miners, you're not making
- 32:26Speaker 2: much money, and you're like, I just can't do this
- 32:28Speaker 2: anymore and you jump when I don't know, maybe you
- 32:33Speaker 2: had the potential. Does that happen ball at all?
- 32:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's funny you say that. See, I
- 32:39Speaker 3: was probably nineteen and our second round pick was our
- 32:43Speaker 3: shortstop starting in a ball high a ball right away,
- 32:47Speaker 3: and halfway through the season, he just quit, this isn't
- 32:50Speaker 3: for me. I'm going to go home and hang out
- 32:52Speaker 3: with my girlfriend basically, and we're like, what, like, you're
- 32:55Speaker 3: a number two pick and then you know, like and
- 32:57Speaker 3: the second round pick, our shortstop that.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Was huge, obviously potential, and he just said, I'm done.
- 33:05Speaker 1: I'm out. He didn't play a full year. Crazy?
- 33:08Speaker 2: Did they not do what they do now where they
- 33:11Speaker 2: basically dive into all the you know, mental health reports,
- 33:15Speaker 2: the love of the game, the passion fact because it
- 33:17Speaker 2: seems like you would know that about a player that
- 33:19Speaker 2: if they didn't absolutely love it, you wouldn't draft him.
- 33:23Speaker 3: At this point, Yeah, I think you can't measure heart obviously, right,
- 33:27Speaker 3: and then homesick I don't know. There's a lot of
- 33:29Speaker 3: people out there and never been away from home. Yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 3: I was. I was kind of shocked because I don't
- 33:34Speaker 3: think he was out of high school. I think he
- 33:35Speaker 3: was out of like a JC or something. But really
- 33:37Speaker 3: good players just maybe just didn't have it in him.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Maybe it had enough, you know.
- 33:41Speaker 1: So you moved on.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Did I see that you're moving to Nashville on your Twitter?
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'm man, I'm trying. I'm we have been looking for
- 33:48Speaker 1: a year. Uh, you know, the prices have gone crazy.
- 33:53Speaker 3: But we were just there this weekend and we found
- 33:56Speaker 3: a really nice piece of property. But you know, I've
- 33:58Speaker 3: been struggling with find a place on a golf course
- 34:00Speaker 3: or find We've been looking for twenty thirty forty fifty acres.
- 34:04Speaker 1: So a lot of friends there. I love it there.
- 34:07Speaker 3: We're we're there a lot, and so yeah, we're we're
- 34:11Speaker 3: definitely gonna move there. I got a son who's a sophomore.
- 34:14Speaker 3: He's got his last week of school, and as soon
- 34:16Speaker 3: as he's out of the house, we might be headed
- 34:17Speaker 3: that way.
- 34:19Speaker 1: If not before.
- 34:21Speaker 2: What's your handakeeutt, what's your handicaff? Yeah, I feel like
- 34:24Speaker 2: you professional athletes, for example, one of my best friends
- 34:28Speaker 2: is Andy Roddick, the tennis player, and he had never
- 34:30Speaker 2: played golf, and all of a sudden he starts playing
- 34:31Speaker 2: golf and he goes to like a four in eight
- 34:33Speaker 2: months because hand eye coordination is so freaking good. I
- 34:35Speaker 2: just want to I want to kill him. So that's
- 34:37Speaker 2: not the case with me. So what about a guy
- 34:39Speaker 2: like you that would hit a ball and can run
- 34:40Speaker 2: fast for a living? How how good are you a
- 34:41Speaker 2: golf You know.
- 34:43Speaker 3: I stopped playing about three or four years ago. But
- 34:45Speaker 3: I'm one of those guys that just once I picked
- 34:47Speaker 3: something up, I just go and go and go until I.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Get pretty good. And I got down to like an
- 34:53Speaker 1: eight or nine. Maybe you're not playing at all anymore.
- 34:56Speaker 1: I don't play at all now.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I used to have a house in Palm Springs on
- 35:00Speaker 3: the golf course, and they still have a house up
- 35:01Speaker 3: in Idaho. Right when I retired, and then when we
- 35:04Speaker 3: moved back to Saint Louis to you know, the kids
- 35:07Speaker 3: all get in school and and do all that, I.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Just kind of gave it up. It's hard to play,
- 35:13Speaker 1: you know.
- 35:14Speaker 3: It's funny is in Missouri here especially it's always raining
- 35:17Speaker 3: or it's hot or it's cold, there's like no kind
- 35:19Speaker 3: of like, you know, we don't have convertible weather here.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I think the weather's a little better in Nashville than
- 35:24Speaker 3: it is here. And it just kind of hated going
- 35:27Speaker 3: out and one day hitting off matts and the next
- 35:29Speaker 3: day it's car path only, and I'm just like, I
- 35:32Speaker 3: guess I got spoiled and the golf courses I belonged
- 35:34Speaker 3: to in the past in California, and so I just
- 35:36Speaker 3: kind of wasn't that important, especially because then also with
- 35:40Speaker 3: the kids, I'm just kind of like trying to play
- 35:42Speaker 3: dad the best I can now that I'm retired.
- 35:44Speaker 2: What do you do for fun? Then you're not dad?
- 35:47Speaker 2: But if you're not playing golf, what are you playing
- 35:48Speaker 2: pickleball at all?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Like that? Nah? Yeah, I too many injuries.
- 35:54Speaker 3: I've seen too many people already go down and pick
- 35:56Speaker 3: the ball. And I've been playing it. I was planning
- 35:59Speaker 3: about actually about eight or nine years ago when it
- 36:02Speaker 3: first started going through our country club. And for fun, really,
- 36:07Speaker 3: I don't know nothing. I mean, just chill, work out,
- 36:11Speaker 3: listen to music, go to concerts, you know, I mean,
- 36:17Speaker 3: hang out with my wife like chill. I mean, like
- 36:22Speaker 3: I think my fund's over baseball was fun for me.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Man, that does seem like to be the most fun,
- 36:28Speaker 2: like to be like, young, athletic, good looking playing center
- 36:32Speaker 2: field for the freaking Cardinals. Other than the Cardinals part,
- 36:36Speaker 2: it sounds like an amazing life.
- 36:38Speaker 1: I didn't realize you were such a Cubs fan.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm a whole life. It was a curse until
- 36:42Speaker 2: it wasn't anymore. Though.
- 36:43Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 36:44Speaker 3: I think that I listened to you a lot, and
- 36:46Speaker 3: I think I know a lot about listening to what
- 36:49Speaker 3: you guys do and stuff, and I don't think I've
- 36:51Speaker 3: heard a lot about the Cubs as much as you know,
- 36:53Speaker 3: hear a lot about Arkansas and all that other stuff
- 36:56Speaker 3: that you do. But yeah, I was surprised. But that
- 36:59Speaker 3: makes sense, right in.
- 37:00Speaker 2: A rough few years, you know, so it's a lot
- 37:05Speaker 2: of talk about Also, you know, baseball for us doesn't
- 37:09Speaker 2: really do at least in talk. People don't really like
- 37:12Speaker 2: to hear a lot of baseball talk unless it's about superstars.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, And you know, the Cubs kind of went
- 37:18Speaker 2: through a process there. We didn't know who was going
- 37:20Speaker 2: to be on the team year to year, and our
- 37:21Speaker 2: show was on in Chicago for a long time, but yeah,
- 37:24Speaker 2: there's not a lot to talk about but the Cubs.
- 37:25Speaker 2: And be honest with you, when we I grew up,
- 37:27Speaker 2: my grandfather was a Cubs fan, so my stepdad was
- 37:29Speaker 2: a Cubs fan, so it was just kind of passed
- 37:31Speaker 2: on to me. I would I would never wish that
- 37:33Speaker 2: for anyone, but growing up in Arkansas, we used to
- 37:35Speaker 2: go to Bush and play like Legion ball, like Championships
- 37:38Speaker 2: in Bush Stadium, which was always awesome.
- 37:41Speaker 3: And I've that's Cardinal Country down there, right, Are you
- 37:44Speaker 3: from Hot Springs?
- 37:44Speaker 2: I am from Central Arkansas.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Yeah, down there for a charity event, and man, that's
- 37:49Speaker 3: Cardinal Country down there. And it's that kind of mix, right,
- 37:51Speaker 3: It's like half Cubs, half Cardinals.
- 37:53Speaker 2: It's only Cubs if you were watching it on WGN
- 37:57Speaker 2: the whole time, but it's mostly Cardinals because we had
- 37:59Speaker 2: the team and then the single A team for the
- 38:02Speaker 2: Cardinals forever, and that was like the big trick for me.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Every year we would go to watch the Arkansas Travelers
- 38:08Speaker 2: because you know, they were the single A team for
- 38:11Speaker 2: a long time. That fed into the Cardinals and you'd
- 38:13Speaker 2: go and you'd get autographs and you'd hope they make
- 38:15Speaker 2: it and they never make it, and you just had
- 38:16Speaker 2: some random cards signed by some dude who's now walking
- 38:19Speaker 2: down the street. So that was kind of the situation there.
- 38:22Speaker 2: But yeah, I respected the Cardinals, but since everybody loved them,
- 38:25Speaker 2: I hated them. But that's but I got to play
- 38:28Speaker 2: in the stadium and it was pretty cool. I remember
- 38:30Speaker 2: getting these balls, Jim. I don't know if you guys
- 38:31Speaker 2: ever hit him with batting practice because we would go
- 38:34Speaker 2: and we get to see all the facilities back then,
- 38:36Speaker 2: and the batting practice balls were smaller than normal balls,
- 38:39Speaker 2: which made sense because if you hit smaller balls, it
- 38:42Speaker 2: makes that bigger ball easier to hit. Did you ever
- 38:44Speaker 2: hit with tiny batting practice balls?
- 38:47Speaker 3: No, not really, there's sometimes they're different because their practice
- 38:51Speaker 3: balls are Also they get the craft beat out of
- 38:54Speaker 3: them because they'd get hit so much, and they don't
- 38:56Speaker 3: last very long, so that's probably another thing too. They're
- 38:58Speaker 3: either brand new all the time time or they're smashed
- 39:02Speaker 3: in from getting hit. But no, not not purposely. Did
- 39:05Speaker 3: they change the balls out, but probably over time. And
- 39:08Speaker 3: I'm sure if you have a ball, like I have
- 39:10Speaker 3: a ball from like the All Star Game in ninety five,
- 39:14Speaker 3: and it looks like it's this big compared to like
- 39:17Speaker 3: this big now, But just in time they get they
- 39:21Speaker 3: were tighter. They were you know, in the nineties, everything
- 39:23Speaker 3: was the balls are rock hard, that bats a rock card.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Everyone was doing steroids. The ball was flying out of
- 39:29Speaker 3: the ballpark. So I think they changed over time, I
- 39:32Speaker 3: really do. They say that they don't, but I can
- 39:34Speaker 3: promise you one that they're not the same.
- 39:37Speaker 1: Year in and you're out.
- 39:38Speaker 2: You have a guitar behind you, and I feel like
- 39:41Speaker 2: you're a country music guy? Am I? Right?
- 39:42Speaker 1: Am?
- 39:42Speaker 2: I right on this? What's the guitar for? Back there?
- 39:45Speaker 2: What is that?
- 39:45Speaker 1: That's Eric Church?
- 39:47Speaker 3: I got that. I got one from Eric, I got one.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Jason Alden over there? Yeah, I am.
- 39:55Speaker 1: I you know what, you know how these worlds collide? Right?
- 39:58Speaker 3: I'm sure you probably either friends with a lot of
- 40:01Speaker 3: uh you said Andy Roddick and a couple of those
- 40:03Speaker 3: guys like I think music and baseball have a huge connection,
- 40:07Speaker 3: which I was surprised.
- 40:09Speaker 1: So I met Luke through Adam Wayne Wright.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Then I met Jason through DJ Silver with John Perdue.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I'm sure you probably know him and his family, and
- 40:21Speaker 3: then just kind of took off from there. I met
- 40:23Speaker 3: H's become friends with Cole Swindell. He knew Rick and
- 40:27Speaker 3: Keel Like it's just random house like everyone just kind
- 40:31Speaker 3: of like kind of mingled and stayed in touch with
- 40:33Speaker 3: a lot of guys and uh yeah, I really, I
- 40:35Speaker 3: really enjoy it.
- 40:36Speaker 2: It's interesting you mentioned Rick and k because Rick was
- 40:40Speaker 2: a pitcher when I first knew Rick, like he came
- 40:43Speaker 2: up the system like crazy, crazy prospect. Then whatever happened
- 40:48Speaker 2: to him emotionally, psychologically, I don't know, and then he
- 40:52Speaker 2: ended up being a good outfielder as well, like play.
- 40:55Speaker 2: But that's one of we talked about Wally Pip like
- 40:56Speaker 2: changed positions like they did that with Aank. You for
- 41:00Speaker 2: a different reason, what because I struggle sometimes if I'm
- 41:05Speaker 2: playing golf, like I get nervous. I played the Pebble
- 41:06Speaker 2: Beach prom and I was scared to death. And I'm
- 41:08Speaker 2: not scared to do anything. I'm my knees were shaking.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Jim nance was calling it. I don't get nervous with
- 41:13Speaker 2: Jim at all. I can do stand up front of
- 41:15Speaker 2: thousands of people. I can do live TV. I scared
- 41:18Speaker 2: to death and I couldn't fix it. When Ank, You'll
- 41:21Speaker 2: goes through something like that, like did you have any
- 41:24Speaker 2: of those moments where also you were just psychologically not
- 41:27Speaker 2: in tune with yourself.
- 41:28Speaker 1: No, not like that.
- 41:30Speaker 3: You know, I always tease Rick, and this is a
- 41:32Speaker 3: crazy credit to his ability to He was probably the
- 41:35Speaker 3: only guy ever to make it to the big league swice.
- 41:37Speaker 3: If you think about that. He came up.
- 41:39Speaker 1: He was nineteen that year.
- 41:41Speaker 3: It was my first year in Saint Louis, and in
- 41:44Speaker 3: the playoffs he lost it and then lost the.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Field for throwing.
- 41:47Speaker 3: And then after a year and a half of try
- 41:49Speaker 3: and he went back and said, I'm just going to
- 41:51Speaker 3: be an outfielder.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Actually he quit for a.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Couple of days, and then I think LaRussa talked to
- 41:55Speaker 3: him into going back and trying to be an outfielder.
- 41:57Speaker 1: And I thought, man, what a this guy was like.
- 42:00Speaker 1: He could have been Randy.
- 42:01Speaker 3: Johnson, you know, I mean, this guy is electric. He
- 42:04Speaker 3: had the best, they said, the best left handed curve ball.
- 42:06Speaker 1: In the game. He was nineteen, He threw ninety four.
- 42:09Speaker 1: It just was wicked.
- 42:10Speaker 3: But you know, his upbringing and a lot of things
- 42:13Speaker 3: that he had to deal with, it just probably wasn't
- 42:15Speaker 3: at the time mentally as strong as he was hoping
- 42:17Speaker 3: to be. And now he's all. I mean, I love him.
- 42:20Speaker 3: I still keep in touch with him. I see him
- 42:22Speaker 3: a lot. He was working for TV with us for
- 42:24Speaker 3: a little bit, and now he's doing some stuff in
- 42:26Speaker 3: Florida with boats and fishing and stuff. So but yeah,
- 42:30Speaker 3: what a what a crazy story, huh? I mean, one
- 42:33Speaker 3: day he couldn't throw the ball over the plate, and
- 42:35Speaker 3: you know, a year and a half later, he's starting
- 42:37Speaker 3: in center field for the Cardinals. So crazy.
- 42:40Speaker 2: When you would get into a slump, how would you
- 42:41Speaker 2: get out of a slump?
- 42:42Speaker 1: I would hit a lot.
- 42:44Speaker 3: I would hit. There's two things. Either stop hitting completely,
- 42:47Speaker 3: Like if you had a chance to.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Take a day off, you probably would.
- 42:50Speaker 3: I wouldn't hit the day before the day off, and
- 42:52Speaker 3: then I would just kind of wing it for a
- 42:54Speaker 3: day or two. And then in other days when we're
- 42:56Speaker 3: at home, I would just hit.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Extra into my hands blood. I mean.
- 43:00Speaker 3: And there's times when you have energy and you're not
- 43:02Speaker 3: doing well, and there's times you're just dead tired. So
- 43:04Speaker 3: you then it's just back off and just let your
- 43:06Speaker 3: ability take over. So it's all up here usually in
- 43:10Speaker 3: the mind.
- 43:10Speaker 1: You know, you get out of out of sync with
- 43:13Speaker 1: your body and out of sync with your mind.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Two final questions. Did you like playing in all Star games?
- 43:19Speaker 2: You know, now we hear players they don't like it,
- 43:21Speaker 2: they'd rather have the days off. Did you like playing
- 43:24Speaker 2: and being around all those other guys?
- 43:25Speaker 1: I loved it, I really did.
- 43:27Speaker 3: I could see if you play in you know, ten, twelve,
- 43:30Speaker 3: fifteen of them, it would be a little bit of
- 43:32Speaker 3: a nuisance because you're always expected to do so much.
- 43:35Speaker 1: But I had a blast.
- 43:36Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's your obligation to at least
- 43:39Speaker 3: be unless you're seriously hurt or beat up, to go
- 43:43Speaker 3: and you know, represent your team and do that stuff.
- 43:45Speaker 3: I thought it was you know, it's a lot of fun.
- 43:48Speaker 3: You got a lot of camaraderie. There a lot of
- 43:50Speaker 3: interesting you know, it's funny to see the pictures and
- 43:53Speaker 3: the hitters kind of look.
- 43:55Speaker 1: At each other. You know.
- 43:56Speaker 3: That's like all these rivalries and guys that you might
- 43:58Speaker 3: not like on one side, but then you play with
- 44:01Speaker 3: them and you love them. So yeah, it's a weird scenario,
- 44:04Speaker 3: but I thought it was kind of cool. I enjoyed,
- 44:07Speaker 3: you know, being around those guys. And how do you
- 44:10Speaker 3: not you know, how do you not be excited about
- 44:14Speaker 3: being around the best of the best, you know, kind
- 44:16Speaker 3: of like going to an awards ceremony, right, and you're
- 44:18Speaker 3: actually now one of those guys Like I love That's
- 44:22Speaker 3: what I.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Love about you.
- 44:23Speaker 3: It is like you've done everything and you've kind of
- 44:26Speaker 3: gone through what you've gone through, and all of a sudden,
- 44:28Speaker 3: look who are you? You know, look what you have
- 44:30Speaker 3: become just because of hard work, and now instead of
- 44:33Speaker 3: just doing TV and talking to people in radio, you're
- 44:36Speaker 3: like on the red carpet, You're presenting your winning awards,
- 44:39Speaker 3: Like you know.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I still realls in the outfield though.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Honest with Jim, come on up, I'll get you on
- 44:46Speaker 3: the field for batting practice.
- 44:47Speaker 1: And we'll see how it goes.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Rival As a pro do you actually care? Do you
- 44:52Speaker 2: actually hate the teams you're supposed to hate that we
- 44:54Speaker 2: as fans, and for me, it can be college football,
- 44:56Speaker 2: it can be the major leagues. Obviously, we as Cups
- 44:59Speaker 2: fans really had trouble with the Cardinals that as a player,
- 45:02Speaker 2: is it really real?
- 45:04Speaker 3: Uh?
- 45:04Speaker 1: You know, It's funny.
- 45:04Speaker 3: When I first got to Saint Louis, I did I
- 45:06Speaker 3: knew there was a rivalry but the Cubs, but I
- 45:08Speaker 3: really was like, what is this deal?
- 45:09Speaker 1: You know, like I'm just got here. I don't know anyone,
- 45:12Speaker 1: so I thought it was all media driven.
- 45:14Speaker 3: And then I think the media can push it over
- 45:16Speaker 3: the edge, you know, if it's all you hear, and
- 45:18Speaker 3: then yeah, you learn to not like a certain team
- 45:22Speaker 3: or you know, especially in the in the league a
- 45:27Speaker 3: couple not this year, but a couple of years ago
- 45:28Speaker 3: or in the past, when we were playing everybody in
- 45:31Speaker 3: our division eighteen nineteen times, they got kind of sick
- 45:34Speaker 3: of it, and yeah, I could heat it, and yeah, definitely,
- 45:37Speaker 3: the Cubs Cardinals were a good rivalry for like, you know,
- 45:40Speaker 3: I think after my first second or third year it
- 45:42Speaker 3: started to really become real, like two oh three.
- 45:46Speaker 1: I think at three, they beat.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Us up pretty good at the end of the year,
- 45:49Speaker 3: and then we got in the fight, and then oh four,
- 45:51Speaker 3: same kind of stuff. And then you know, then you
- 45:54Speaker 3: start losing players, right, you start losing pitchers on their team,
- 45:58Speaker 3: you know, catcher My Colbertt.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Then he ended up going somewhere.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Else, all these different guys, right, and all of a sudden,
- 46:04Speaker 3: what you had left was like Soto and Zambrano, you know,
- 46:09Speaker 3: I mean, other than Zambrano, there wasn't much of a
- 46:11Speaker 3: rivalry left, and so I kind of went downhill for
- 46:14Speaker 3: a while. But I think you feel it because you
- 46:17Speaker 3: feel the fans, you feel the energy, and how can
- 46:20Speaker 3: you not love playing in that stadium, especially now?
- 46:22Speaker 1: It stems amazing?
- 46:24Speaker 2: All right, bonus question, best concert you've ever been to?
- 46:27Speaker 1: Holy cal oh man. I've been to so many now
- 46:32Speaker 1: it's crazy.
- 46:33Speaker 3: But you know, I just saw that I really fell
- 46:35Speaker 3: in love with, and it was in a really small venue.
- 46:37Speaker 1: It was Randy Hauser.
- 46:39Speaker 3: He played in like a small like pageant type of
- 46:41Speaker 3: thing that we just built a new place here in Chesterfield, Missouri,
- 46:46Speaker 3: and it's cool. It's like a little venue. It's really small.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Chase Rice just played there. I watched a bunch of
- 46:53Speaker 3: guys play there right after kind of got popped there
- 46:56Speaker 3: after COVID because you know, they weren't selling tickets and
- 47:01Speaker 3: so it was kind of cool. I'm going to go
- 47:03Speaker 3: see Cole Swindell this weekend. Here my best story with
- 47:10Speaker 3: Cole Swindell.
- 47:10Speaker 1: I love it. I got divorced and you know the
- 47:14Speaker 1: song you Ain't Worth the Whiskey.
- 47:19Speaker 3: So that was like the one to live by after
- 47:22Speaker 3: a breakup, right, You think about it like in your
- 47:24Speaker 3: own head and it's a funny story. So we're sitting
- 47:26Speaker 3: in a bar in Nashville. Was a couple of guys,
- 47:30Speaker 3: a couple of writers. One of his buddies, me, a
- 47:34Speaker 3: couple of the guys hanging out and was talking about
- 47:36Speaker 3: that story and just how it meant so much and
- 47:39Speaker 3: it was weird. I was like not saying like, hey,
- 47:40Speaker 3: I love you because of this, but I had known
- 47:42Speaker 3: him for a little bit.
- 47:43Speaker 1: I was telling him about the song and he's like,
- 47:46Speaker 1: I'll be right back, and I was like, all right.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Whatever, So now I'm talking to someone else and he
- 47:50Speaker 3: jumps up on stage and started performing the song.
- 47:53Speaker 1: I was like, this is really damn cool right here.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Those guys are so much fun to be around and
- 47:58Speaker 1: just so talented. I think it's really cool. Yeah.
- 48:00Speaker 2: The annoying ones are the ones that were great athletes
- 48:02Speaker 2: and then like they hurt something and they became a
- 48:04Speaker 2: country music like Jaco and great golf, or a collegiate
- 48:07Speaker 2: golfer hurts a shoulder becomes superstar Sam Hunt. College football
- 48:10Speaker 2: player becomes superstar Colswindow. I hate those guys because they
- 48:14Speaker 2: were so good at everything, and I like, I'm good
- 48:15Speaker 2: at nothing, and so and they're so likable as humans
- 48:19Speaker 2: that you don't really hate him, you're just really jealous
- 48:21Speaker 2: of them.
- 48:22Speaker 3: You know who's doing that now is Adam Waynwright. Adam
- 48:24Speaker 3: Waynewright sang the national anthem on an opening day and
- 48:27Speaker 3: he told no one I saw that. And he carries
- 48:30Speaker 3: his guitar with him everywhere he goes. And he's friends
- 48:32Speaker 3: with Luke, really good friends with Luke, and obviously Jason
- 48:35Speaker 3: and those guys.
- 48:35Speaker 1: But yeah, it's funny.
- 48:38Speaker 3: I don't know if this story is true, but I
- 48:40Speaker 3: was talking to Luke one day and I and he
- 48:42Speaker 3: was at the field, and I said, how did you
- 48:44Speaker 3: really get into playing guitar? Because I know you didn't
- 48:46Speaker 3: play as a kid, And he said, I got released
- 48:49Speaker 3: offer a cut from my high school baseball team or whatever,
- 48:51Speaker 3: and just picked up a guitar so later in life,
- 48:54Speaker 3: which I thought was awesome.
- 48:56Speaker 1: And Jason said the same thing.
- 48:58Speaker 3: As soon as you stopped playing baseball, he really got
- 49:00Speaker 3: like he's a hardcore baseball fan talking about a baseball fan.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Wow with the Braves, he's insane. Yeah, he loves a.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Good ball player too.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:08Speaker 2: When I stopped playing baseball, I just, uh well got
- 49:10Speaker 2: beat up more and studied. I mean that's basically what
- 49:13Speaker 2: I did. So and here we are. Well, look, Jim,
- 49:15Speaker 2: next time you come to town or one of the times,
- 49:16Speaker 2: I'd love to meet you in person. You know, just
- 49:20Speaker 2: been a massive fan for a long time, and you know,
- 49:22Speaker 2: even what you do now, you do a great job
- 49:23Speaker 2: at it. Like just like I don't know, man, I
- 49:26Speaker 2: just get jealous people who are good and good looking
- 49:28Speaker 2: at I don't know, I'm starting sad again here in
- 49:30Speaker 2: the You're not.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Doing so bad.
- 49:32Speaker 3: I mean, I'm I'm a beautiful wife too now and
- 49:35Speaker 3: things are good for you.
- 49:37Speaker 1: So, I mean, we listen to you every day here
- 49:39Speaker 1: in Saint Louis.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Love averages, That's what that was. Love averages pretty much, Jim,
- 49:43Speaker 2: huge fan, Thank you so much.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Just kept shuffling them around until you found a really.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Good one, just well just trying to Yeah, we'll go
- 49:49Speaker 2: with that one because I wanted to hear this, and Jim,
- 49:53Speaker 2: great to talk to you. I hope you have a
- 49:54Speaker 2: great day, and I would love to meet you sometime soon, definitely.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I'll come check it out when we come back into town.
- 50:00Speaker 3: We're going to be in town maybe next week sometime,
- 50:02Speaker 3: so come on, come back together.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Come meet everybody. We'd love to meet you.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Love to meet you guys too.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Thank you, Thanks for the time, Jim, appreciate it. Thanks
- 50:12Speaker 2: to Jim Edmonds. That's awesome. Like that's my day. Like
- 50:15Speaker 2: when everybody has a day, like a time where they
- 50:18Speaker 2: really thrived and took in every little kernel. Those days
- 50:23Speaker 2: for me, like when I was twelve through like thirty two.
- 50:31Speaker 2: That's a solid twenty years, right, that's a solid twenty
- 50:34Speaker 2: years where I was like, I knew how many games
- 50:37Speaker 2: behind everybody. I mean, it was all I lived. And
- 50:40Speaker 2: then baseball just got too long. Games are too long.
- 50:43Speaker 2: And now we're starting to get back a little bit. Yeah,
- 50:45Speaker 2: and they need because the game has fallen out of
- 50:49Speaker 2: favor because of our attention spans. There aren't as many
- 50:53Speaker 2: marketable stars, which then that's what sports is, marketable stars.
- 50:58Speaker 2: But I'm rooting for it, rooting for baseball back. I
- 51:00Speaker 2: love Jim Edmonds. The chase for the NBA title still

- 51:57Speaker 2: we did heating Celtics, Go Celtics. We did, Lakers and
- 52:01Speaker 2: Nuggets go Lakers. Probably not gonna happen. I'm kind of
- 52:04Speaker 2: cool whom everyone. I'm gona be honest with you. It's
- 52:06Speaker 2: for pretty likable teams.
- 52:08Speaker 4: You don't care at this point.
- 52:10Speaker 2: I'm moving for the Celtics' you, But it's pretty relkable teams.
- 52:12Speaker 2: I like the Lakers because I like Lebron. I like
- 52:14Speaker 2: ad I like see Lebron win another one. I like
- 52:16Speaker 2: the Nuggets because I think Yokich is awesome and he
- 52:18Speaker 2: doesn't get the respect he deserves, even from me, because
- 52:21Speaker 2: we just don't want I don't watch them enough, so
- 52:23Speaker 2: I like that. I like new Blood too, like small markets,
- 52:25Speaker 2: the heat. I mean, look at that story playing Gamesman Butler.
- 52:28Speaker 2: The Celtics. You that's all I care about Celtics.
- 52:30Speaker 4: Yeah, it's all that matters.
- 52:31Speaker 2: I mean, probably they're the least likable team. But because
- 52:34Speaker 2: the I'm rooting for things. Big softball weekend if you're
- 52:37Speaker 2: a college softball fan, like I spent a lot of
- 52:39Speaker 2: time talking about it. But in my family it's a
- 52:40Speaker 2: big deal because Patty Gasso six championships Oklahoma they've won
- 52:49Speaker 2: too in a row. I think they're going for number three.
- 52:50Speaker 2: They are more team in the country. They won easily
- 52:52Speaker 2: super regionals. Her son, my brother in law, is the
- 52:56Speaker 2: head assister coach at Utah, been there three years program
- 52:59Speaker 2: now for the first time ever, is hosting a super regional.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Wow.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Oh, he's legit.
- 53:03Speaker 4: I was wondering where you're posting so much about them.
- 53:05Speaker 4: That makes sense now obviously.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Yeah, he's legit. And and I talked to him. I mean,
- 53:08Speaker 2: I call him right after the game. It's the first
- 53:10Speaker 2: time they've ever won Super so and the Arkansas lost
- 53:12Speaker 2: sucked in the regional. So that's what's up. We're probably
- 53:16Speaker 2: gonna go to Utah this weekend to watch. We're that's
- 53:19Speaker 2: we're very that's Kaylin's sister. Yeah, they we're very close.
- 53:21Speaker 2: So I don't know. I went to the college Softball
- 53:23Speaker 2: championship last year, the World Series. How was that crazy?
- 53:28Speaker 2: Because Oklahoma won and I was there and we went
- 53:30Speaker 2: on the field, and like it was hard for me
- 53:32Speaker 2: because I wouldn't war Ocaoma shirt. I won't. I can't
- 53:34Speaker 2: wear oh and a U. But I did have a
- 53:36Speaker 2: shirt that said gasohs the goat okay and that I
- 53:39Speaker 2: can do that. I can support. It's family.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Do you say boom er sooner or never?
- 53:43Speaker 2: Okay, my lips aren't even going whatever strape it goes
- 53:46Speaker 2: to do that. Never would I do that. So that's
- 53:51Speaker 2: what's up. So softball, Uh, golf, watched a lot of PGA.
- 53:56Speaker 2: What about Old Block? Huh?
- 53:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 53:58Speaker 2: You know Michael Block. He we talked about the whole
- 54:02Speaker 2: on one that he hit that actually got him into
- 54:03Speaker 2: next year's He cried a lot, but he made me
- 54:07Speaker 2: sad when he was crying. People were making fun of
- 54:09Speaker 2: him for crying all the time, but I'm telling him
- 54:11Speaker 2: that was like real man emotional, Like good for you,
- 54:13Speaker 2: way to feel it, way to show it, let's go.
- 54:15Speaker 2: It's crazy. I think that was like his fourth major
- 54:17Speaker 2: he played in. He never made the cut. Yeah, but
- 54:20Speaker 2: isn't his fourth major? Yeah, Like everybody's acting like they
- 54:22Speaker 2: found him on the streets, like some guy walking around
- 54:25Speaker 2: with a golf club, didn't even know what number it
- 54:27Speaker 2: was showed up to the court. I mean, he's played
- 54:29Speaker 2: in for me. Granted, he finished top fifteen, and that's awesome.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Most of it. Everyone was like setting one thousand dollars
- 54:36Speaker 2: and he had a funny thing at the podium. We're like,
- 54:38Speaker 2: what's the most you ever won? And he goes seting
- 54:40Speaker 2: out thousand bucks and list of the course and everything,
- 54:42Speaker 2: and they were like, wow, you should do know that.
- 54:44Speaker 2: Specific goes, yeah, if you want end a one thousand
- 54:46Speaker 2: bucks you would know it too. Most of everyone before
- 54:47Speaker 2: that was five thousand. Oh wow, and he's like, you know,
- 54:50Speaker 2: he's a golf pro to public course. It's a very
- 54:53Speaker 2: nice public course. Put a public course, so it's pretty cool.
- 54:58Speaker 2: I ended up betting him to finish top ten. He didn't.
- 55:00Speaker 2: Oh I know, I know, I know. I bet him
- 55:04Speaker 2: to finish top ten, and then the last day I
- 55:06Speaker 2: bet Scheffler to come back and win it.
- 55:07Speaker 4: I was thinking about doing Scheffler.
- 55:09Speaker 2: Well, good thing he didn't.
- 55:10Speaker 4: He didn't not Brooks would blow it at some point,
- 55:13Speaker 4: so did I.
- 55:13Speaker 2: And I put one hundred bucks to win, like seven
- 55:17Speaker 2: hundred dollars, eight hundred bucks, and for a second I
- 55:20Speaker 2: was like, oh, here we go, Scottie. He started doing it,
- 55:24Speaker 2: and then he didn't do it.
- 55:25Speaker 1: No, any do it.
- 55:26Speaker 2: But you know, I don't really like the courses when
- 55:30Speaker 2: they grow the freaking rough that long.
- 55:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:33Speaker 4: The first three days were tough to watch, especially Friday
- 55:35Speaker 4: and Saturday. I think there was a lot of rain,
- 55:37Speaker 4: and I was like, this isn't good golf.
- 55:39Speaker 2: The guys are frustrated, Like the nineties NBA, A lot
- 55:43Speaker 2: of defense people running into each other like it wasn't fun.
- 55:46Speaker 2: It's like whenever defensive backs could hit wide receivers all
- 55:51Speaker 2: the time anywhere and not get past it. No, I
- 55:53Speaker 2: like to watch finess. I like to see points scored.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I like to see balls on.
- 55:57Speaker 4: The green, not in the rough.
- 56:00Speaker 2: No, I don't care if they go on the rough.
- 56:02Speaker 2: But and there should be a slight penalty, not strokes,
- 56:06Speaker 2: but you are it's a rough, little hard hit, not
- 56:09Speaker 2: the freaking weeds.
- 56:11Speaker 4: Did you see spiez shot out of the sand where
- 56:14Speaker 4: he put it over out of bounds and he was
- 56:16Speaker 4: all pissed off and he was like yelling at the
- 56:17Speaker 4: judge that.
- 56:19Speaker 2: I mean it was great. I saw one where he's
- 56:21Speaker 2: like hit a f and iron good, just that one.
- 56:24Speaker 2: I sent it to Eddie, so he obviously didn't have
- 56:27Speaker 2: a great here it is no, this is from the
- 56:29Speaker 2: tea box.
- 56:29Speaker 5: I'm gonna play this. He canna play about the fur Mike, Yeah.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Nance goes. I don't think you like that one. That's great,
- 56:44Speaker 2: that's funny, that's great. No, I didn't see the sand thing.
- 56:47Speaker 4: Yeah, his caddy, he was in the bunker right off
- 56:49Speaker 4: the green and he smacked it and it went out abound.
- 56:52Speaker 4: We don't even know where the ball went lost. It
- 56:53Speaker 4: went out of bounds. And then so he had had
- 56:55Speaker 4: another one and the judge was telling him where he
- 56:56Speaker 4: had to lie and going over all the rules and
- 56:58Speaker 4: he was just so pissed off. And his caty he's like,
- 57:00Speaker 4: all right, dude, let's go, like get it together, let's go.
- 57:04Speaker 4: And then he hits a great shot.
- 57:05Speaker 2: I guess they've been together long enough he can do that. Yeah.
- 57:09Speaker 2: I like Jordan. I played golf with him twice, hung
- 57:11Speaker 2: with am a little bit. Really nice guy. I never
- 57:15Speaker 2: seen him like what E fan, But it's hilarious.
- 57:18Speaker 4: John Ron was a little pissed off to you.
- 57:22Speaker 2: It's you have mics everywhere now, but still I think
- 57:26Speaker 2: I would still have the I would like to to
- 57:29Speaker 2: be able to let it go like that and like
- 57:30Speaker 2: that's really cool. It just shows he's human when he
- 57:33Speaker 2: plays golf. I like it because that's how we all feel.
- 57:35Speaker 2: There's a clip of Charles Barkley where he's playing golf
- 57:37Speaker 2: and he hits and he goes you. He messes up,
- 57:40Speaker 2: and he's like you fat mother, talking to himself, and
- 57:42Speaker 2: I'm like, I felt that. I must if I can
- 57:45Speaker 2: find that. It's so funny. But I like him. When
- 57:47Speaker 2: these world class athletes suck for a minute, I think
- 57:51Speaker 2: I found it. He's talking to himself hilarious.
- 58:00Speaker 4: So yeah, that's what's I just call myself an idiot
- 58:03Speaker 4: every time.
- 58:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just so, I just get quiet. I'm just sad.
- 58:08Speaker 2: I've been on a struggle bus lately, but I think
- 58:09Speaker 2: I got I'm feeling pretty good about where I am now.
- 58:12Speaker 2: I spent a lot of time thinking about.
- 58:13Speaker 4: It late nights.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Yeah, just grinding teeth because of it. I go through
- 58:20Speaker 2: bad ruts playing golf where I just like lose it completely,
- 58:25Speaker 2: where I'm like, which way did my hands go? Elbow's been?
- 58:27Speaker 2: What direction? And then I just can, usually with some help,
- 58:32Speaker 2: identify a couple of things, and then it's back and
- 58:34Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, but it goes from it's polar. I'm
- 58:37Speaker 2: never like, oh, I played bad eighty nine ninety, It's like, wow,
- 58:43Speaker 2: I played great eighty two or crap one hundred and
- 58:49Speaker 2: six no in between, no ine between n CAA twenty
- 58:55Speaker 2: fours ago. It'll feature actual players for the first time.
- 58:58Speaker 2: This is the video game, which is awesome. They have
- 59:01Speaker 2: Dynasty Mode, which is awesome. Don't think I can be
- 59:03Speaker 2: running with the raizor bag hardcore so college football players,
- 59:07Speaker 2: the actual people, not RB eight, will be the new
- 59:09Speaker 2: EA college football. There'll be the little guys we played with.
- 59:12Speaker 2: It's awesome, man, that is just some great news.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I love it.
- 59:16Speaker 2: I played, we played Mad got a Madden League, got
- 59:19Speaker 2: an NBA league. I did watch the Redeem Team on Netflix.
- 59:21Speaker 4: If you watch that, Yeah, the one that came out
- 59:23Speaker 4: last year. Yeah, yeah, it's awesome.
- 59:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 59:25Speaker 2: I did not expect it to be that good.
- 59:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 59:28Speaker 2: We had some issues with Stanley, our bulldog, where he'd
- 59:31Speaker 2: go to the mergency room and I just had I
- 59:32Speaker 2: sat in the merchant for six hours, so I took
- 59:34Speaker 2: some earbuds with me and just knew i'd be there
- 59:37Speaker 2: a while. Earbuds and a charger. I was ready to go. Yeah,
- 59:40Speaker 2: even though he was like convulsing and choking, got my
- 59:43Speaker 2: earbuds and a charger and we got there and he
- 59:48Speaker 2: went in did his thing, and I watched it I
- 59:52Speaker 2: didn't think I would care too much for it in
- 59:55Speaker 2: the way that I did, because I'm like, all right,
- 59:57Speaker 2: we didn't play well, we went back and played we won.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Who cares. It was so much better than that. It
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: was a story about all those guys coming together. Nobody
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: really wanted to play that Kobe stuff, like Kobe's like
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: five am going to the gym, and They're all coming
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: in from the club, and Kobe's like, I'm going to
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: the gym, and they were like, god, daangn it. So
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: they started going to the gym. It is great. I
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: didn't I thought it would be good just because I'm
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: sports fan. It was great. The Russia. I didn't even
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: know about the Russia. The United States maybe like seventy six,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: seventy four. I don't know where they put three seconds
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: back on the clock after the US wins the game.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: I didn't know that either until I watched that and.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Doug Collins makes the free throws to win the game,
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, they're like, no, no, Bob,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: even though it's over, put time back on the clock.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: They chunk in. The Russia's big man scores and wins
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: the gold medal. Yeah, I had no idea that was
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: the thing, and its crooked as crab. That's bull crab.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: In the US, I wouldn't happen, No, because we had
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: achieved America. It's really good. I can't say enough about it.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: I'm never a big Kobe game. I understood, I appreciated,
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: but man, after watching Redeemed Team, like I really understood
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: and appreciated, and they didn't make him soft, like, oh,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: you'd really loved Kobe. They were like, nobody liked Kobe.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: He's not that kind of guy. But I guess I
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: just saw what my intentions and goals always are. Just
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: freaking go to work and outwork everybody and eventually it'll
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: shake out. And if it hasn't shaken out yet, I
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: just haven't worked enough and for long enough time. It's great.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: I recommend it was really, really, really great. The Redeem
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Team on Netflix only been out of year. I guess,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: per Kevin, you made the one that came out in
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: two thousand and seven. Yes, Kevin, I'm just telling y'all
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: liked it.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: Making sure we're talking about the same one here.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: A right, final thoughts, what if, say, Kevin, you got okay?
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: This is how I know I'm getting older, right, and
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: getting old. I was talking to read about this a
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: little bit ago. And I work out five to six
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: days a week, keep in good shape, do all kinds
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: differ stuf, flifting weights, party or whatever. And I'm out
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: at the pool yesterday and I'm just laying there and
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: getting some sun and I go to just turn positions,
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: you know, from being on my back to the stomach,
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: and I pulled something in my back, and I think
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: to myself, what does how does this something like this happen?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: I think it's inactivity more than old. What do you
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: mean because when you were younger, you were doing more
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: constantly physically. I think if you just stayed going to
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: the same constant level, you'd still be fine. But obviously
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: you've slowed down a little bit, even if you work
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: out five or six days a week. I think inactivity
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: more than old because you're not old. Well you thirty two? Shoot,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: I got turds old and you and that toilet over
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: the house.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: I just felt like, really, just turning over, this is
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: gonna happen.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: What's gonna happen, though, is you're not gonna heal as
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: fast because I still go extremely hard as well. And
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: when something gets hurt, it pisses me off because I
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: know it's gonna be a long time before it's back
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: to normal. And you ain't seen anything yet, and I
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: haven't seen anything yet either, Like I just know what
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: I'm dealing with now. In ten years, I'll be like, man,
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: I wish i'd really appreciated what I was then. That's
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: the hardest part about being athletic and getting older or
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: still going hard is that when you do, like like
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: tweak something or it just doesn't go away. It's almost
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: like a birthmark, like my shoulder that I heard on
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars. It's just basically a birth mark.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Now I've heard it, I've heard it again and again
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: and again. It would just well not I've let done therapy,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: I've done everything. It is what it is. It's like
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: my face might be ugly, but it's mine. Read run
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: a video over there. What do you got? Get a thought?
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: I played thirty six holes yesterday and I regretted. My
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: body hurts.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I'm chafed in areas that should not be chafed.
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: It was rough, and so I think if I would
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: have started earlier, it would have been okay.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: But we didn't start until like noon. So but where
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: did you play thirty six holes?
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: It was u what was it called twelve stones up
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: in Goodlets Fidde. So a normal course, normal course, Yeah
- 1:04:01Speaker 6: it was. I mean yeah, it was a long course too.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: There was like four or five par fives and it
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: was a beautiful course. Though it's like superhealy, but I'm hurting.
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: Why the chafing of the soreness, the chafing of the chafing,
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: the soreness from working out for the first time and forever.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: But the chase. But you worked out other than the
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: golf course.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: Yeah, I worked out on Saturday.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: That's probably a big part of yeah, for sure.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: And then you go golf.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: It's like I'm play thirty six of I'm so hard, Okay,
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Like I get it. Maybe your sunburn or something. He's like, no,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: I'm sure of it. What you did before seven hundred squad.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: But no, bro, that's what it is. I think it's
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: the chafing.
- 1:04:42Speaker 4: Though.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Oh, let me end with this. I think this is
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: the most fun I've had watching the ANBA playoffs in
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: ten years, just with almost every like Kevin, I know
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: one of us, but you have you have a team involved, right,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I don't have a team. I'm talking about this as
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: a casual now more than casual, but not super die
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: hard NBA, Like I have been be a Sunday ticket
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: and I watched that. But this is the most fun
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: I've ever had watched the playoffs. Every team has a
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: storyline all most of all the series have been really good.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: We're at a place now where they're not. They're both
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: three to zero, but you're still invested because it's Lebron
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: and it's Tatum, so shout out NBA. Even it's the
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: most dramatic I've ever seen. The ping pong ball with Yeah,
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: now you've messed me up. I had to say, I've
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: never messed up until you said that. So and one
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: of my buddies, Steve, is a huge Spurs fan, and
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I was at dinner when they did the ping pong ball.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: They got it, they did the card. I guess we
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: didn't see the ping pong ball was all the car
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: flipped and so I didn't watch it live because I
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: don't care. And then I get a voice text and
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I hit it and it's just him going ah like
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: yelling it was him because he's a dire Spurs fan
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: and it was like the greatest for him. So NBA
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: pretty cool in my book this year. That's it all right,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: thank you guys, Thanks again, DraftKings Bobby sports is the
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: code all of us on social please because if we
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: get to a thousand read gets one hundred bucks. Oh
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: we ain't there yet. It shouldn't be that hard. Read.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: You gotta post more read I know I do need
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: you gotta go up there and post more like five
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: posts a day, right, Mike, Yeah, what they say do
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: a nude on there too? Of who though?
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: No chasing them?
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: All right, thank you guys, Hope you have a great day,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: see you later on. We'll go do another one this week.

- 1:06:26Speaker 2: we're off official capacity until like August, right, yep, maybe
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: the months January one, February, March, April, mate, June, July, August. Oh,
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: we don't even say that, are we. Then you just
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: announced something now I didn't announce anything anything. We think
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: we could be coming back. We haven't finalized the day,
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: but we're off for sure. After this we'll be doing

- 1:06:54Speaker 2: we're not even going to address that we said it
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: ever again. What exactly exactly?
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Thank you guys, bolly whistle there it is the theme
