- 0:00We identify ourselves with the constructed ego personality that
- 0:04we have assumed. We have certain ideas, feelings,
- 0:09relationships, preferences, desires, ambitions, fears, and
- 0:14motivations of various sorts. We treat this ego personality as
- 0:19a unified whole and do not usually investigate the varying
- 0:24ways we respond to situations or the internal conflicts that
- 0:29arise between our desires, for instance, and our rational
- 0:33minds. Sometimes we struggle with these
- 0:36conflicts without recognizing that they represent separate
- 0:39parts of the being that each have their own motivational and
- 0:44need structure. For instance, we have a desire
- 0:48for a certain food, but our rational mind tells us that it
- 0:52is not healthy for us to consume it.
- 0:55Or we are antagonized in a situation and our first reaction
- 1:00is to express anger and fight, while our mind tells us that it
- 1:05is going to have negative consequences and we should
- 1:08simply walk away. There are endless numbers of
- 1:12such conflicts within our being. Shrioro, Bindo and the mother
- 1:17describe these variances and conflicts within the being as
- 1:22resulting from different parts of the being that have their own
- 1:25separate evolutionary development and powers and which
- 1:29do not always agree with each other.
- 1:32The constructed ego personality attempts to avoid recognizing
- 1:37the inherent conflicting motivations between the
- 1:40physical, the vital, the emotional, the basic mental and
- 1:45the higher mental consciousness, as well As for those who have
- 1:50awakened to it the promptings of the soul.
- 1:53The psychic being, which becomes an organizing factor for all
- 1:58these diverse and divergent parts of our being once we have
- 2:02identified with it and begin to accept its guidance and
- 2:06direction as the source of our external beings actions.
- 2:13A disciple asks You say that it is necessary to establish
- 2:17homogeneity in our being. The mother responds quote.
- 2:24Don't you know what a homogeneous thing is made-up of
- 2:27similar parts? That means the whole being must
- 2:31be under the same influence, same consciousness, same
- 2:35tendency, same will. We are formed of all kinds of
- 2:40different pieces. They become active one after
- 2:44another. According to the part that is
- 2:47active, one is quite another person.
- 2:50It becomes almost another personality.
- 2:54For instance, one had an aspiration, at first, felt that
- 2:59everything existed only for the divine.
- 3:02Then something happens, somebody comes along, one has to do
- 3:07something and everything disappears.
- 3:11One tries to recall the experience, not even the memory
- 3:14of the experience remains. 1 is completely under another
- 3:19influence. One wonders how this could have
- 3:22happened. There are examples of double,
- 3:26triple, quadruple personalities altogether unconscious of
- 3:30themselves. But it is not about this I am
- 3:34speaking. I am speaking about something
- 3:37which has happened to all of you.
- 3:39You have had an experience and for some time you have felt
- 3:44understood that this experience was the only thing that was
- 3:48important, that had an absolute value.
- 3:52Half an hour later you try to recall it.
- 3:54It is like a smoke that vanishes.
- 3:57The experience has disappeared. And yet half an hour ago it was
- 4:03there and so powerful. It is because one is made of all
- 4:07kinds of different things. The body is like a bag of
- 4:11pebbles and pearls all mixed up, and it is only the bag which
- 4:16keeps all that together. This is not a homogeneous
- 4:21uniform consciousness, but a heterogeneous one.
