  By

  you'll

  people
• 1:59
  to
• 2:00
  open
• 2:00
  up

  God.
• 2:01
  This

  minute
• 2:08
  that
• 2:08
  I
• 2:08

  God's

  not

• 2:13
  to
• 2:13

• 2:14
  but
• 2:14
  to

  complete.
• 2:15
  I'm
• 2:15
  going
• 2:16
  to
• 2:16
  put
• 2:16
  it
• 2:16
  all
• 2:16
  together.
• 2:17
  Put
• 2:17
  it
• 2:17
  all
• 2:17
  together
• 2:17
  in
• 2:18
  a
• 2:18
  vast

  panorama.
• 2:20
  God's
• 2:21
  Law
• 2:21
  is
• 2:21
  more
• 2:22
  real
• 2:22
  and
• 2:22
  lasting
• 2:23
  than
• 2:23
  the

  stars
• 2:23
  in
• 2:23
  the
• 2:24
  sky
• 2:24
  and
• 2:24
  the
• 2:24
  ground
• 2:24
  on
• 2:25
  your

• 2:26
  Long
• 2:26
  after
• 2:27
  stars
• 2:27
  burn
• 2:27
  out
• 2:27
  and
• 2:28
  the
• 2:28
  earth
• 2:28
  wears
• 2:28
  out,
• 2:29
  God's
• 2:30
  law
• 2:30
  will
• 2:31
  be
• 2:31
  alive
• 2:31
  and
• 2:31
  working.
• 2:33
  Trivialize
• 2:34
  even
• 2:34
  the
• 2:34
  smallest
• 2:34
  item
• 2:35
  in
• 2:35
  God's
• 2:35
  law
• 2:35
  and
• 2:36
  you
• 2:36
  will
• 2:36
  only
• 2:36
  have
• 2:36
  trivialized
• 2:37
  yourself.
• 2:38
  But
• 2:38
  take
• 2:38
  it
• 2:38
  seriously.
• 2:39
  Show
• 2:40
  the
• 2:40
  way
• 2:40
  for
• 2:40
  others
• 2:40
  and
• 2:41
  you
• 2:41
  will
• 2:41
  find
• 2:42
  honor
• 2:42
  in
• 2:42
  the
• 2:42
  kingdom.
• 2:44
  Unless
• 2:44
  you
• 2:44
  do
• 2:45
  far
• 2:45
  better
• 2:45
  than
• 2:45
  the
• 2:46
  Pharisees
• 2:46
  in
• 2:46
  The
• 2:46
  matter
• 2:46
  of
• 2:47
  right
• 2:47
  living.
• 2:47
  You
• 2:47
  won't
• 2:48
  know
• 2:48
  the
• 2:48
  first
• 2:49
  thing
• 2:51
  about
• 2:51
  entering
• 2:51
  the
• 2:52
  kingdom
• 2:52
  of
• 2:52
  God.
• 2:54
  Well,
• 2:54
  my
• 2:54
  friends,
• 2:55
  I'm
• 2:55
  really
• 2:55
  glad
• 2:55
  you
• 2:56
  joined
• 2:56
  me
• 2:56
  here
• 2:56
  today.
• 2:56
  And
• 2:57
  I
• 2:57
  just
• 2:57
  want
• 2:57
  you
• 2:57
  to
• 2:57
  gather
• 2:58
  around,
• 2:58
  let's
• 2:58
  get
• 2:58
  a
• 2:58
  cup
• 2:58
  of
• 2:59
  coffee
• 2:59
  or
• 2:59
  let's
• 2:59
  have
• 3:00
  a
• 3:00
  moment
• 3:00
  together
• 3:01
  around
• 3:01
  a
• 3:01
  table
• 3:02
  and
• 3:02
  in
• 3:02
  your
• 3:03
  earbuds
• 3:03
  or
• 3:04
  on
• 3:04
  YouTube
• 3:05
  or
• 3:05
  however
• 3:05
  you're
• 3:05
  listening
• 3:05
  to
• 3:06
  me
• 3:06
  today.
• 3:06
  And
• 3:07
  let's
• 3:07
  just
• 3:08
  talk
• 3:08
  for
• 3:08
  a
• 3:08
  minute
• 3:08
  about
• 3:08
  this
• 3:09
  passage
• 3:09
  of
• 3:10
  scripture
• 3:11
  from
• 3:11
  Matthew
• 3:12
  5:13
• 3:12
  through
• 3:13
  20
• 3:13
  and,
• 3:14
  and
• 3:14
  we're.
• 3:14
  And
• 3:15
  where
• 3:15
  Jesus
• 3:16
  says
• 3:16
  we're
• 3:16
  here
• 3:16
  to
• 3:16
  be.
• 3:17
  Salt
• 3:18
  bring
• 3:18
  out
• 3:18
  the
• 3:19
  God
• 3:19
  flavors
• 3:19
  of
• 3:19
  life
• 3:20
  and
• 3:20
  light,
• 3:22
  bringing
• 3:22
  out
• 3:22
  the
• 3:23
  God
• 3:23
  colors
• 3:23
  of
• 3:24
  the
• 3:24
  world.
• 3:25
  Then
• 3:25
  he
• 3:25
  talks
• 3:25
  about
• 3:26
  completing
• 3:26
  God's
• 3:27
  law,
• 3:27
  not
• 3:27
  demolishing
• 3:28
  it.
• 3:29
  So
• 3:29
  let's
• 3:30
  kind
• 3:30
  of
• 3:31
  work
• 3:31
  through
• 3:31
  that.
• 3:31
  Sit
• 3:32
  with
• 3:32
  that
• 3:32
  for
• 3:32
  a
• 3:32
  minute
• 3:33
  and
• 3:33
  ask,
• 3:34
  what
• 3:34
  does
• 3:34
  that
• 3:35
  look
• 3:35
  like
• 3:36
  on
• 3:36
  an
• 3:37
  everyday
• 3:37
  day
• 3:37
  when
• 3:37
  you're
• 3:38
  kind
• 3:38
  of
• 3:38
  tired,
• 3:38
  you're
• 3:39
  kind
• 3:39
  of
• 3:39
  worried,
• 3:39
  or
• 3:40
  you're
• 3:40
  trying
• 3:40
  to
• 3:41
  do
• 3:41
  the
• 3:41
  right
• 3:41
  thing
• 3:41
  for
• 3:41
  your
• 3:42
  family,
• 3:42
  your
• 3:42
  community?
• 3:43
  And
• 3:43
  to
• 3:44
  see
• 3:44
  what
• 3:44
  this
• 3:45
  means
• 3:45
  for
• 3:45
  us
• 3:46
  from
• 3:46
  a
• 3:46
  progressive
• 3:46
  point
• 3:47
  of
• 3:47
  view,
• 3:48
  let's
• 3:48
  talk
• 3:49
  about
• 3:49
  some
• 3:49
  points
• 3:49
  to
• 3:49
  ponder.
• 3:50
  Here's
• 3:50
  the
• 3:50
  first
• 3:50
  one.
• 3:51
  Salt
• 3:52
  as
• 3:53
  everyday
• 3:54
  courage,
• 3:54
  not
• 3:55
  gatekeeping.
• 3:57
  Salt
• 3:57
  doesn't
• 3:58
  dominate
• 3:58
  a
• 3:58
  dish.
• 4:00
  It's
• 4:00
  meant
• 4:00
  to
• 4:00
  enhance
• 4:01
  the
• 4:01
  dish.
• 4:02
  It
• 4:02
  draws
• 4:03
  out
• 4:03
  what
• 4:03
  is
• 4:03
  already
• 4:04
  good.
• 4:05
  And
• 4:05
  a
• 4:05
  progressive
• 4:06
  reading
• 4:06
  of
• 4:06
  this
• 4:06
  scripture
• 4:07
  says
• 4:07
  discipleship
• 4:08
  is
• 4:08
  less
• 4:09
  about

• 4:13

  clearly
• 4:23
  about
• 4:23
  racism,
• 4:24

• 4:25
  exclusion,
• 4:26

• 4:28

  us
• 4:29

• 4:31
  It's
• 4:32
  choosing

• 4:33

• 4:33
  that

  God
• 4:35

  in

• 4:39
  My
• 4:39

• 4:40
  me
• 4:40
  of
• 4:40
  this
• 4:41
  every

  time
• 4:41
  they
• 4:41
  make
• 4:41
  me
• 4:42

• 4:42
  They

• 4:43
  of
• 4:43

• 4:44
  to

• 4:48
  So
• 4:48
  is

• 4:50
  A
• 4:50
  second
• 4:50
  point

  to

• 4:52
  light
• 4:53
  that
• 4:53
  refuses
• 4:54

• 4:58
  Jesus
• 4:59
  says
• 4:59
  God
• 4:59
  isn't
• 5:00
  a
• 5:00

• 5:00
  to
• 5:00
  keep
• 5:01
  under
• 5:01
  a
• 5:01
  bucket.
• 5:02
  He
• 5:02
  says
• 5:02
  keep
• 5:02

• 5:03
  be
• 5:03

  LGBTQ

• 5:39
  immigrants,
• 5:40
  single
• 5:41
  parents.
• 5:42
  Light
• 5:43
  is
• 5:43
  not
• 5:43
  a
• 5:43
  spotlight
• 5:44
  on
• 5:44
  us.
• 5:45
  It's
• 5:45
  a
• 5:45
  floodlight
• 5:46
  on
• 5:46
  God's
• 5:47
  abundant.
• 5:48
  God's
• 5:49
  abundant
• 5:49
  hospitality,
• 5:50
  God's
• 5:50

  welcoming.
• 5:53
  So
• 5:53
  if
• 5:53
  you're
• 5:53
  a
• 5:53
  sports
• 5:53
  fan
• 5:54

• 5:57

• 5:57
  You
• 5:57
  know
• 5:58
  that
• 5:58
  teamwork
• 5:59
  matters
• 6:00
  more
• 6:00
  than
• 6:01
  any
• 6:02
  star
• 6:02
  does.
• 6:04
  Champions
• 6:04
  are
• 6:04
  built
• 6:04
  on
• 6:05
  teamwork,
• 6:06
  and
• 6:06
  light
• 6:06
  creates
• 6:07
  a
• 6:07
  team
• 6:07
  where
• 6:08
  more
• 6:08
  people
• 6:09
  get
• 6:09
  to
• 6:10
  play.
• 6:12
  Point
• 6:12
  de
• 6:12
  Ponder
• 6:13
  3.
• 6:14
  Completing
• 6:14
  the
• 6:14
  law
• 6:15
  means
• 6:15
  centering
• 6:16
  mercy
• 6:16
  over
• 6:16
  moralism.
• 6:18
  God
• 6:19
  or
• 6:19
  Jesus
• 6:20
  doesn't
• 6:20
  scrap
• 6:20
  the
• 6:21
  law,
• 6:21
  he
• 6:21
  completes
• 6:22
  it.
• 6:23
  The
• 6:23
  shape
• 6:23
  of
• 6:24
  completion
• 6:24
  is
• 6:25
  compassion.
• 6:26
  Imagine
• 6:27
  the
• 6:27
  law
• 6:27
  as
• 6:27
  a
• 6:28
  symphony.
• 6:28
  Jesus
• 6:29
  is
• 6:29
  the
• 6:29
  conductor,
• 6:30
  pulling
• 6:30
  all
• 6:30
  the
• 6:30
  parts
• 6:31
  together
• 6:31
  so
• 6:31
  the
• 6:31
  melody
• 6:31
  of
• 6:32
  mercy
• 6:32
  can
• 6:32
  be
• 6:33
  heard.
• 6:34
  Doing
• 6:35
  far
• 6:36
  better
• 6:36
  than

  the
• 6:36

• 6:39
  isn't
• 6:39
  about
• 6:39
  stricter
• 6:40
  rules.
• 6:40
  It's
• 6:41
  about
• 6:41
  deeper
• 6:41
  integrity,
• 6:43
  rejecting
• 6:43
  purity,
• 6:44
  culture
• 6:44
  and
• 6:44
  performative
• 6:45
  religion
• 6:46
  in
• 6:46
  favor
• 6:46
  of
• 6:46
  love
• 6:47
  that
• 6:47
  heals
• 6:47
  bodies,
• 6:48
  systems
• 6:48
  and
• 6:48
  souls.
• 6:50
  My
• 6:50
  wife
• 6:50
  and
• 6:50
  I
• 6:50
  take
• 6:51
  a
• 6:51
  hike
• 6:51
  in
• 6:51
  the
• 6:51
  woods
• 6:51
  sometimes.
• 6:52
  We
• 6:52
  sometimes
• 6:53
  end
• 6:53
  up
• 6:53
  picking
• 6:53
  up
• 6:54
  some
• 6:54
  trash
• 6:54
  or
• 6:54
  things
• 6:54
  that
• 6:54
  are
• 6:55
  out
• 6:55
  there
• 6:55

  to
• 6:55

  than
• 6:56
  what
• 6:57
  we
• 6:57
  found
• 6:57
  it.
• 6:59
  So
