- 0:11Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Kilowatts of power. What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I am Brian.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I'm Roger.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I'm Joni.
- 0:44Speaker 5: I'm Misty.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I'm Jay.
- 1:00Speaker 2: It's been a while.
- 1:01Speaker 6: You probably forgot.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Who am I?
- 1:02Speaker 2: I forget how this works. Yeah, we've been rotating out
- 1:05Speaker 2: as our usual MO around here.
- 1:08Speaker 4: I've been working on Sundays, too.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, you've actually had a pretty long run.
- 1:11Speaker 6: And we were in Florida for two weeks.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah, and there was that.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Oh, so yeah, it's got most of the main crew
- 1:20Speaker 2: back here, so it's unusual for once.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Yay!
- 1:23Speaker 2: And by the way, what am I wearing? What is
- 1:25Speaker 2: this t-shirt I'm wearing? I don't know.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Greedo, bloody Greedo.
- 1:29Speaker 2: The Greedo, bloody Greedo t-shirt.
- 1:31Speaker 7: Movie Meltdown official t-shirt.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Because this event is so awesome, it needs its own t-shirt.
- 1:37Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying. You get the t-shirt.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Sharpies.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I need to readjust some sharpies, actually. But, yeah, actually,
- 1:48Speaker 2: because you asked earlier, you were like, did you get
- 1:49Speaker 2: T-shirts made up? No, actually, I didn't because I can't
- 1:52Speaker 2: afford T-shirts. I got T-shirt. That's awesome. Which is the
- 1:56Speaker 2: beauty of Cafe Press is, yeah, that you can make
- 1:59Speaker 2: a shirt. They're still a little pricey. Actually, not compared
- 2:02Speaker 2: to shopping at the mall T-shirts.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 2: But, yeah, I mean, for me, it's a little more
- 2:06Speaker 2: than normal, but, you know, to make something as dorky
- 2:09Speaker 2: as a Greedo Bloody Greedo.
- 2:10Speaker 8: T-shirt, so.
- 2:11Speaker 5: What's that website?
- 2:12Speaker 8: Online.
- 2:13Speaker 9: Oh, it's online?
- 2:13Speaker 2: You can get pretty much anything done. Oh, I need
- 2:16Speaker 2: a link for that. I set up.
- 2:18Speaker 10: Fapers.com.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe it is.
- 2:20Speaker 4: I'll forget it by.
- 2:22Speaker 11: The time I do it.
- 2:23Speaker 6: You will.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Not that we're plugging them, because they didn't give us
- 2:25Speaker 2: any money, but they did work with me on this shirt,
- 2:27Speaker 2: because I adjusted the artwork, which is why I'm not
- 2:29Speaker 2: even going to throw out the official, um, Yeah, I
- 2:32Speaker 2: did set up a shop because I have ideas for
- 2:34Speaker 2: many other shirts and not really any time to mess
- 2:36Speaker 2: with them and certainly not money to make mass quantities
- 2:38Speaker 2: of them. But there's one or two others that are
- 2:40Speaker 2: sort of in the works in my head that I'd
- 2:42Speaker 2: like to put out there in the Meltdown Boutique, as
- 2:44Speaker 2: it were.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Nice.
- 2:45Speaker 2: So, yeah, it's out there, but I'm not even going
- 2:48Speaker 2: to put this out yet because I'm not 100% thrilled
- 2:50Speaker 2: with the version. I think I want to readjust the
- 2:52Speaker 2: coloring on it before we throw it out to everybody, but... Yeah,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I just thought it was, you know, such a ridiculous
- 2:59Speaker 2: concept that I needed a T-shirt to commemorate this event.
- 3:02Speaker 6: You really kind of.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Got to watch that shirt, too, because Lucas has got
- 3:06Speaker 5: a lot of cronies out there.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 3:08Speaker 10: This is true.
- 3:10Speaker 4: He's going to be walking down the street with white vans.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Skrr!
- 3:13Speaker 5: You're going to be thrown in, bag over your head.
- 3:15Speaker 10: Bunch of nerds jump out.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Get him.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Really, if I'm going down for this, this cartoony drawing
- 3:22Speaker 2: of Greedo holding a butcher knife. Yeah, whatever, George.
- 3:26Speaker 10: It's not Greedo.
- 3:27Speaker 7: It's Greedo.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You need a freaking life if that happens, George Lucas.
- 3:31Speaker 2: That's all I have to say.
- 3:34Speaker 4: He's like my dad. He'll go after anybody.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah, really.
- 3:36Speaker 5: He'll send Lars after you. And then he'll start making
- 3:39Speaker 5: that t-shirt.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:40Speaker 7: He'll be like, wait, I thought, what?
- 3:42Speaker 2: He'll be like, this is terrible. Except, wait, I can
- 3:46Speaker 2: market it. All right, fine. Okay, it's my idea.
- 3:48Speaker 5: I'm going to change it to Lucas Meltdown.
- 3:50Speaker 10: Lucas Meltdown.
- 3:52Speaker 2: As long as he pays us, I'm fine. No, you
- 3:53Speaker 2: don't get anything.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Bastard.
- 3:55Speaker 5: This doesn't happen.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Why does he think he needs all the money?
- 3:58Speaker 6: He'll just CG in different characters.
- 4:00Speaker 7: That's true.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We'll all be Jar Jars.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:04Speaker 12: If this happens, please do not listen to the show anymore.
- 4:09Speaker 12: Something has happened to us.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Help us!
- 4:12Speaker 2: It's a fine line. We're arguably pretty close to Jar
- 4:15Speaker 2: Jar Weekend and we got it.
- 4:16Speaker 5: This is true. I'm surprised y'all don't just put a
- 4:19Speaker 5: muzzle on me most of the time. This is Roger.
- 4:22Speaker 2: We think about it. Anyway, ball gag.
- 4:26Speaker 10: I'll bring it next time.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I mean, what?
- 4:28Speaker 7: We don't have one of those.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So all that crazy news having been said, I guess
- 4:33Speaker 2: we can roll into this week's geek activities. Mine, I
- 4:39Speaker 2: did watch one movie in its entirety, but I'll have
- 4:42Speaker 2: to get into that later because it ties into the
- 4:45Speaker 2: whole big trilogy of terror here. But aside from that,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I guess the closest thing, and this is retarded, but
- 4:52Speaker 2: I thought it was funny because it shows you how
- 4:54Speaker 2: I factor everything into a movie somehow. The last two
- 4:58Speaker 2: days have been battling Mothra, or the descendants of Mothra Island, or...
- 5:04Speaker 2: It's funny that we brought this up last week. Pretty awesome.
- 5:07Speaker 2: We brought this up last week for some reason and
- 5:09Speaker 2: completely unrelated because this hadn't appeared until about two or
- 5:12Speaker 2: three days ago. We were talking about giant moths, and
- 5:16Speaker 2: Marlena went into how scared she was of giant moths,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and they were going to attack her face.
- 5:21Speaker 6: I don't like moths. They fly like they're broken.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Thank you, Selena.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So, sadly, I got that reference.
- 5:29Speaker 10: Because that show kicks ass.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But yeah, as of about two or three days ago,
- 5:33Speaker 2: giant-ass moths have invaded... In here. There could be one
- 5:37Speaker 2: lurking around right now.
- 5:38Speaker 10: Are they fluffy?
- 5:40Speaker 2: No, they're kind of dusty, as all moths are. They're
- 5:43Speaker 2: sort of dusty and annoying.
- 5:45Speaker 10: Are they just dust bunnies that have grown wings?
- 5:46Speaker 2: They could possibly be.
- 5:48Speaker 7: You've got to battle them within dust.
- 5:50Speaker 2: But, yeah, these things are huge. They're like three times
- 5:53Speaker 2: the size of normal. They're like about this big.
- 5:55Speaker 10: Holy moly.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Is that the body or is that just the wings?
- 5:58Speaker 2: That's the whole deal. That's them sort of parts.
- 6:00Speaker 6: That ain't nothing.
- 6:01Speaker 10: I grew up in the country.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:03Speaker 13: Tobacco mobs big carry-on small dogs still i don't want
- 6:07Speaker 13: them in my house these are like you know large
- 6:09Speaker 13: cuddly large tortilla chip size mobs and i'm.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Crunchy no one wants that they are kind of crunchy
- 6:16Speaker 2: because i i started taking them out right and left
- 6:18Speaker 2: i was not having them in the house so fricassee
- 6:20Speaker 2: up a pan.
- 6:22Speaker 6: It can't be any more annoying than some of the
- 6:24Speaker 6: pets you got.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Here yeah i don't like those either so One in particular. Anyway, so, yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 2: I just thought that was funny that immediately I was like, ah,
- 6:32Speaker 2: Mothra motherfuckers.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Die, die, die.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Anyway, that was.
- 6:37Speaker 7: Were there little girls that fell off the top of
- 6:39Speaker 7: his head?
- 6:39Speaker 10: Mothra.
- 6:40Speaker 2: No, if they would have started singing, you know, I
- 6:42Speaker 2: might have let them stay in there.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Until they hit the ground.
- 6:44Speaker 2: No, bastards. So the only other thing I've done aside
- 6:47Speaker 2: from the weird movie I watched last night was... The porn.
- 6:50Speaker 2: We'll get into that later.
- 6:51Speaker 14: Okay.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I finally found the elusive this channel, which Greg has
- 6:56Speaker 2: been telling me about this online, and I kept going,
- 6:58Speaker 2: where is this? Like, he would bring up the weirdest
- 7:00Speaker 2: shit that was on it, and I'm just like, where
- 7:02Speaker 2: is this channel? Is it only beamed to your head?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Because it seems pretty damn awesome, and I'm not getting it.
- 7:07Speaker 2: So I finally went and looked at it. Well, he
- 7:09Speaker 2: said that he was talking about what was on last night.
- 7:11Speaker 2: And I started, okay, I'm going to go find it
- 7:12Speaker 2: and scroll through every channel I've got here and figure
- 7:14Speaker 2: it out. So, yeah, it's awesome. It's a regular cable channel.
- 7:20Speaker 2: But for a regular cable channel, you know, it's pretty
- 7:23Speaker 2: damn cool. I mean, it's nothing but, well, to put
- 7:26Speaker 2: it in context, last night they were running a double
- 7:27Speaker 2: feature of The Return of Dracula and Curse of the
- 7:30Speaker 2: Swamp Creature.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Really?
- 7:31Speaker 2: This is what they do, like, pretty much all the time.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And in between them, they were running, like, old school cartoons.
- 7:36Speaker 6: Oh.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Like, how old theater style? I mean, that's awesome.
- 7:41Speaker 4: What channel is on what TV?
- 7:43Speaker 2: It's on cable. I mean, it's like a basic.
- 7:45Speaker 10: Yeah, it's on regular cable.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Well, not basic. Yeah, it's pretty high open. That's what
- 7:48Speaker 2: they were doing. They were hiding it.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So we're screwed.
- 7:50Speaker 10: We still don't get that.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't get that.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Huh?
- 7:52Speaker 3: Why?
- 7:52Speaker 10: The hospital gets it.
- 7:53Speaker 5: They have basic.
- 7:54Speaker 6: See?
- 7:54Speaker 10: They have the most basic. And Beetlejuice.
- 7:57Speaker 2: See?
- 7:58Speaker 10: And after Beetlejuice was, I can't remember.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Kind of passed out well they were they were running
- 8:02Speaker 2: ads for nothing but like all the like a whole
- 8:04Speaker 2: run of charles bronson movies coming up and each weekend
- 8:08Speaker 2: they do this weird cult thing going on and i'm
- 8:10Speaker 2: like for regular like commercial cable tv this is like
- 8:13Speaker 2: awesome pretty cool so yeah today uh roger they were
- 8:17Speaker 2: running star chaser really so yeah i mean this is
- 8:20Speaker 2: the kind of shit they're putting on their channel and
- 8:21Speaker 2: i'm like i i i think i.
- 8:23Speaker 7: Like this they probably listen to the show if.
- 8:25Speaker 2: What was my That's the thing. We brought up one
- 8:27Speaker 2: of the things inadvertently like a while ago I was
- 8:30Speaker 2: talking to somebody and now last week Greg watched it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: So I think we need to watch one of these
- 8:34Speaker 2: features that are running regularly. We're going to go into it.
- 8:36Speaker 2: But yeah, if nothing else, we should be getting sponsored
- 8:39Speaker 2: by this channel because, yeah, it's pretty awesome.
- 8:42Speaker 5: And we're already kind of plugging you.
- 8:44Speaker 2: We're friends, right? Well, we run, you know, we kind
- 8:47Speaker 2: of operate on the same network here. All the dorky
- 8:50Speaker 2: stuff we talk about, they keep playing. So I think, yeah,
- 8:53Speaker 2: they need to give us money. Seriously.
- 8:55Speaker 3: What do we have done, Greg?
- 8:57Speaker 6: We'd have to start actually paying for cable in the
- 8:58Speaker 6: first place.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like way the hell up there. It's like
- 9:02Speaker 2: 150-something on the box. You've got to have a fancy box.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Do you remember the old brown box with the slider?
- 9:07Speaker 5: It's just way up. You've got to go past the
- 9:09Speaker 5: end on that thing.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Like the wire box?
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: The one that was attached with a wire.
- 9:14Speaker 7: God, yeah, the big cord.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Oh, so jank.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Back in the day. But that was, I mean, the
- 9:19Speaker 2: greatest thing you ever saw when you were a kid.
- 9:20Speaker 7: There was like 32 channels or something. It was like mind-blowing.
- 9:23Speaker 2: If you were lucky.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Yes.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Just for everybody's information, I'm not stealing cable.
- 9:27Speaker 10: I have no idea what you're talking about.
- 9:28Speaker 8: Really?
- 9:29Speaker 5: This is probably like early 80s. Maybe to mid 80s
- 9:35Speaker 5: is when that was.
- 9:35Speaker 10: My first VHS player, VCR, was in a case. in
- 9:40Speaker 10: a big case.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Like a carry case.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:42Speaker 6: We had the carry case. We had the one you,
- 9:44Speaker 6: because we didn't have a VCR. We had to rent
- 9:45Speaker 6: them from the video store.
- 9:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 3: It came in the case.
- 9:49Speaker 13: My parents owned a video store and that's when we
- 9:51Speaker 13: ended up with like 12 of.
- 9:52Speaker 10: Them when they went out of business.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 9:54Speaker 4: My dad got one as a reward from.
- 9:57Speaker 5: His company for highest sales and it was I think
- 10:00Speaker 5: it was made out of stainless steel case. That was
- 10:03Speaker 5: back when they were like $ 300. Oh, I had that
- 10:05Speaker 5: thing for like.
- 10:08Speaker 4: I don't know how many years I've had that.
- 10:09Speaker 5: I've been never broke.
- 10:11Speaker 4: And then, uh, somebody gave it away.
- 10:14Speaker 2: They were way more than that. Like when they first
- 10:16Speaker 2: came out, they were like a grand. I'm like, Jesus,
- 10:19Speaker 2: looking back at that now, it's hilarious. First movie we
- 10:22Speaker 2: watched was the heavenly kid. oh wow followed by cannonball
- 10:25Speaker 2: run yes my uncle had the original one that was
- 10:29Speaker 2: like a two-piece unit that you the only reason it
- 10:32Speaker 2: was a video recorder was because it hooked up to
- 10:34Speaker 2: your video camera which was like the first wave of
- 10:37Speaker 2: those like home video cameras so you actually had to
- 10:40Speaker 2: cart it around like on a big strap on the
- 10:42Speaker 2: side of you while operating the camera with the other
- 10:44Speaker 2: hand and then To run it to the TV, it
- 10:47Speaker 2: had a separate box that was sort of like almost
- 10:49Speaker 2: like a tuner kind of thing. Yeah, it had two
- 10:52Speaker 2: separate pieces that sat on top of your TV. One
- 10:54Speaker 2: was the VCR tape part, and one was the tuner part. So, yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 2: it's ridiculous to think about now.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Yeah, because you.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Looked like a camera crew when you went out. So, yeah,
- 11:03Speaker 2: it's ridiculous thinking about that.
- 11:04Speaker 4: Now you've got a cell phone that takes six hours
- 11:06Speaker 4: of video or more.
- 11:08Speaker 2: And you can beam it directly across the world.
- 11:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Things have changed in a very short amount of time.
- 11:14Speaker 4: 20 years, things have changed.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Crazy. So, yeah, that's most of the run of mine.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Anything for you guys?
- 11:21Speaker 3: For us.
- 11:22Speaker 5: What would you want to go.
- 11:23Speaker 7: Ahead and talk about?
- 11:25Speaker 10: Galactica yeah yeah um i.
- 11:28Speaker 13: Uh i've been i spent 72 hours pretty much watching
- 11:33Speaker 13: battlestar galactica straight that's a sickness i believe well for
- 11:38Speaker 13: the for a.
- 11:39Speaker 12: While it's you know i mean i've had battlestar didn't
- 11:42Speaker 12: know eventually we were gonna.
- 11:44Speaker 13: Get to it i've never like i didn't want to
- 11:46Speaker 13: get into it because i knew i knew that i
- 11:49Speaker 13: was just gonna not sleep for like three days.
- 11:51Speaker 2: And yeah it happened.
- 11:55Speaker 12: But it's one of those things that, you know, when
- 11:56Speaker 12: you like something so much, you get excited when other
- 11:59Speaker 12: people like it.
- 12:00Speaker 7: And I'm like, yeah, that's awesome.
- 12:02Speaker 5: Yeah, Battlestar.
- 12:03Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, you like it.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Good.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I'm glad.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah, let's watch more.
- 12:05Speaker 3: All right.
- 12:06Speaker 5: So I'm not, like, dissuading you at all. Like, maybe
- 12:08Speaker 5: we should take a break or, like, do something else.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Or sleep.
- 12:11Speaker 7: I'm like, next disc. Next disc.
- 12:15Speaker 6: I bugged Starbuck until he took a picture with me.
- 12:18Speaker 2: I was pretty excited. That was old Starbuck.
- 12:20Speaker 6: I know but it was awesome and he looked annoyed
- 12:22Speaker 6: and he was wearing this ugly gay shirt he was wearing.
- 12:25Speaker 2: A really ugly shirt it's a loud shirt and he
- 12:27Speaker 2: does look very annoyed and that's what makes me happy.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Keith herring designed that shirt but i didn't buy any
- 12:34Speaker 5: of his stuff.
- 12:35Speaker 6: That's probably why he was annoyed he was like can
- 12:39Speaker 6: i get a picture with you he's like i don't
- 12:40Speaker 6: know are you gonna buy anything And I.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Was like, no.
- 12:45Speaker 10: I don't have any money.
- 12:46Speaker 6: I spent all my money getting in here, which I
- 12:49Speaker 6: didn't actually do because Bram bought my way because that's
- 12:51Speaker 6: when I won for the magazine contest. With the picture
- 12:56Speaker 6: of Leslie from Austin.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Woo, Leslie!
- 12:58Speaker 6: So, yay.
- 13:00Speaker 4: Yikes.
- 13:00Speaker 10: That was the end of my story. Starbucks! So, besides Battlestar.
- 13:09Speaker 10: I think that's enough. I think that pretty.
- 13:12Speaker 5: Much suffices, really.
- 13:13Speaker 2: How else do you squeeze more in in the middle
- 13:16Speaker 2: of that?
- 13:17Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 6: I don't think I'm awake for more than 72 hours
- 13:20Speaker 6: in a week.
- 13:20Speaker 10: Yeah, Adderall helped. It was a bad idea. Because at
- 13:23Speaker 10: the end of the 72 hours, I was like, if
- 13:25Speaker 10: I don't sleep now, I'm going to die.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Just say no, kids. Don't do drugs.
- 13:30Speaker 5: After we finished.
- 13:32Speaker 10: Unless it's prescribed to you.
- 13:32Speaker 7: It's kind of like, what do we do now?
- 13:34Speaker 5: Just say no, little bub.
- 13:35Speaker 7: So, I went to work.
- 13:37Speaker 5: And you were off?
- 13:39Speaker 7: Well, then there's, you know.
- 13:40Speaker 10: Home?
- 13:43Speaker 5: Like, I think I went to work and you were
- 13:45Speaker 5: off and I came home and you're like, I re-watched
- 13:47Speaker 5: the whole first season.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 13:49Speaker 13: It was the day after I got out of the
- 13:52Speaker 13: emergency room.
- 13:54Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 10: Is that related to these?
- 13:57Speaker 7: No, no, no.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Battlestar overload.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 10: Did you turn into a Cylon? I thought I was.
- 14:04Speaker 10: I had to make him.
- 14:05Speaker 2: She can do that with her eye though.
- 14:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Seriously.
- 14:08Speaker 10: I'm projecting right now. None of you are actually here.
- 14:12Speaker 7: I'm in a forest, but I think that was pretty
- 14:14Speaker 7: much it for our geek. But that's heavy geekery.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 2: You know, that's, that's again, that's, I.
- 14:20Speaker 10: Attempted to watch flesh for Frankenstein yesterday.
- 14:22Speaker 7: Well, you watched blood for Dracula.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:25Speaker 5: I was impressive.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I liked it.
- 14:26Speaker 12: Well, The Lest for Frankenstein is so much more just like, what?
- 14:32Speaker 12: It's like out there. I mean, I like it more
- 14:34Speaker 12: than Blood for Dracula personally, but it is just.
- 14:36Speaker 5: So far out there.
- 14:37Speaker 10: I got about 20 minutes in and I was like,
- 14:38Speaker 10: I can't do this.
- 14:39Speaker 7: I can't do this movie right now.
- 14:40Speaker 10: My attention span is not working.
- 14:42Speaker 4: I don't want to do it.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I think we need to work both of them in
- 14:44Speaker 2: here somewhere down the line.
- 14:45Speaker 5: I love Udo Kuter.
- 14:47Speaker 7: What's his name?
- 14:48Speaker 5: Udo Kuter?
- 14:49Speaker 2: I think he's going to be it.
- 14:51Speaker 8: Really?
- 14:51Speaker 2: I think one of the shows that's on the list
- 14:53Speaker 2: and he's starting to do shows. I'm hoping we run
- 14:55Speaker 2: into him at some point. Dude, he's awesome.
- 14:57Speaker 8: The end.
- 14:57Speaker 6: I think in the three weeks that we haven't been here,
- 15:02Speaker 6: we haven't done a damn thing.
- 15:03Speaker 10: We've watched Slack.
- 15:05Speaker 6: I'm in Florida, and we didn't watch anything in Florida.
- 15:07Speaker 6: Corey had adventures that have been well-documented in pictures.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 15:11Speaker 6: There was a photo booth involved that was not at
- 15:13Speaker 6: all comfortable.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I still can't picture it, and I don't want to,
- 15:17Speaker 2: because this seems like you should be in traction right
- 15:19Speaker 2: now of trying to get the Corey tattoo on your
- 15:22Speaker 2: leg and you in the same picture in a photo booth.
- 15:27Speaker 2: That doesn't seem humanly possible, or at least not by
- 15:30Speaker 2: anyone who's not in Cirque du Soleil.
- 15:32Speaker 6: It was not at all comfortable, but it was totally worth.
- 15:36Speaker 5: It.
- 15:38Speaker 6: We did manage to watch Defendor, which I was kind
- 15:41Speaker 6: of disappointed in.
- 15:42Speaker 10: It had its moments.
- 15:43Speaker 6: It was kind of fun. It had Woody Harrelson playing
- 15:45Speaker 6: a mildly retarded superhero.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 15:48Speaker 5: Defendor.
- 15:49Speaker 8: Defendor.
- 15:50Speaker 6: If you got it wrong, he'll yell at you. And
- 15:52Speaker 6: it was pretty much a black outfit with a duct tape.
- 15:54Speaker 5: D on it.
- 15:56Speaker 4: She means a mildly mentally challenged superhero.
- 15:59Speaker 3: P.C.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Clarification.
- 16:02Speaker 6: Oh, did I say retarded?
- 16:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Well, no, no, I mean, not as in, oh, he
- 16:05Speaker 2: was kind of, he was just a retarded looking spirit.
- 16:07Speaker 7: Yeah, he, like, medically, mentally handicapped.
- 16:11Speaker 4: A little slow.
- 16:11Speaker 13: Oh, what was it maybe with one of the Wands brothers?
- 16:14Speaker 2: Handyman? Oh, it's Blankman.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Blankman.
- 16:16Speaker 7: Blankman.
- 16:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 2: It was retarded.
- 16:19Speaker 6: I think they put all the funny stuff in the
- 16:21Speaker 6: trailers when you're watching it.
- 16:22Speaker 7: You're like, oh, yeah, they do that a lot nowadays.
- 16:23Speaker 2: There's more serious stuff in there.
- 16:25Speaker 4: You were thinking, hey, this is kind of like kick-ass
- 16:27Speaker 4: and you watch it and you're like, oh, it's kind
- 16:29Speaker 4: of more serious and sad.
- 16:30Speaker 12: It's kind of like that damn movie Click by Adam Sandler.
- 16:34Speaker 12: It looks like it's going to be funny.
- 16:35Speaker 7: I want to kill myself.
- 16:37Speaker 2: The Crazies, the remake.
- 16:38Speaker 5: Oh, how was it?
- 16:39Speaker 10: Oh, it's in the water.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Did you like it?
- 16:41Speaker 6: I liked it.
- 16:42Speaker 10: I actually did.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I really liked it.
- 16:43Speaker 4: It followed close to the original.
- 16:44Speaker 6: And it had Timothy Oliphant, who is gorgeous.
- 16:46Speaker 5: Yeah, he's awesome. He is totally awesome.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'm waiting to see if he actually ends up being
- 16:51Speaker 2: a really big star or just one of those that
- 16:52Speaker 2: kind of goes to waste because everybody seems to like
- 16:54Speaker 2: him and he's kind of poised right at that point
- 16:56Speaker 2: where he could suddenly like break through and become like
- 16:58Speaker 2: a really big star or he could just disappear in
- 17:01Speaker 2: like five years from now or like, remember that one guy?
- 17:03Speaker 13: He reminds me of the guy on, what's his name?
- 17:07Speaker 13: He was on the first Transformers.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Shia LaBeouf?
- 17:10Speaker 10: No.
- 17:11Speaker 2: We do this every time. He's way... He was in
- 17:14Speaker 2: the army.
- 17:15Speaker 5: No, that was him.
- 17:16Speaker 10: Is he married to Fergie now?
- 17:17Speaker 2: No.
- 17:18Speaker 10: No, it's not.
- 17:19Speaker 2: We do this every time.
- 17:20Speaker 7: The guy who slides on his back under the Transformer?
- 17:22Speaker 2: That's the dude from the Vegas TV show.
- 17:24Speaker 7: Yeah, he's from Las Vegas.
- 17:25Speaker 10: I thought that's the same dude.
- 17:26Speaker 6: I think the guy who's married to Fergie from Black
- 17:27Speaker 6: Eyed Peas.
- 17:28Speaker 4: Josh Deschamel?
- 17:28Speaker 10: Yeah, Josh Deschamel or Deschamel. I thought that was the same.
- 17:33Speaker 10: Something like that.
- 17:34Speaker 2: We just need like a poster board with all these
- 17:35Speaker 2: photos to keep these people straight. Like a family tree.
- 17:38Speaker 5: I need a picture side by side because I still
- 17:40Speaker 5: want to see it as the same guy.
- 17:41Speaker 10: It's not.
- 17:42Speaker 2: They look similar. And that was my thing. They look
- 17:44Speaker 2: so similar. I thought they were for a while too,
- 17:46Speaker 2: but no. Separated twins.
- 17:47Speaker 10: I wouldn't mind a threesome with both of them. I'm
- 17:48Speaker 10: just saying.
- 17:49Speaker 7: Separated twins maybe?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Quite possibly. That would be interesting.
- 17:52Speaker 6: I actually liked the crazies. Watching the original, it was
- 17:55Speaker 6: kind of slow for me.
- 17:57Speaker 10: Watching this one, they actually changed some things. So that
- 17:58Speaker 10: was kind of.
- 17:59Speaker 6: I guess I was okay with it. They took out
- 18:01Speaker 6: a lot of the military involvement. There's military, but all
- 18:04Speaker 6: the movie is the people in the town. Because we're
- 18:08Speaker 6: in the original one, it was half of them concentrating
- 18:10Speaker 6: on the army and how they're trying to fix the problem.
- 18:13Speaker 6: Whereas in this one, they don't really care about fixing
- 18:16Speaker 6: the problem. It's pretty much, you're going to get your
- 18:18Speaker 6: ass torched. Sometimes literally. There is a flamethrower.
- 18:22Speaker 3: It's nice.
- 18:23Speaker 6: But yeah, the end's kind of different. I'm not going
- 18:26Speaker 6: to say anything about the end, but Should I tell
- 18:30Speaker 6: them about my Slim Jim extravaganza?
- 18:33Speaker 2: I think you need to, actually, yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Yeah, don't eat Slim Jim right before you go to bed.
- 18:38Speaker 5: Is this like an extravaganza in your pants?
- 18:40Speaker 10: Do you have a weird dream?
- 18:41Speaker 6: It involved Jack Wagner, and I'm not really sure why
- 18:44Speaker 6: for him.
- 18:44Speaker 2: And not Macho Man. Yeah, I said beforehand, I was like,
- 18:47Speaker 2: your dreams are going to star Macho Man Randy Seth.
- 18:50Speaker 12: And I was really tempted to draw a goatee and
- 18:53Speaker 12: put a headband on and sunglasses and legs, and when
- 18:55Speaker 12: you woke up, you were going to roll over and
- 18:58Speaker 12: be like.
- 18:58Speaker 10: Oh yeah.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Then you realized I have two handguns on the side
- 19:01Speaker 6: of the bed.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 6: That would not be a good idea.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 10: Got you three minutes.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Three minutes of.
- 19:07Speaker 6: even in my brain he had to have like his
- 19:10Speaker 6: name flashed up so i would know that it was
- 19:12Speaker 6: jack wagner in my brain like jack wagner as starring
- 19:15Speaker 6: in misty's.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Dream i like that you buy slim.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Jill i like that you have a credit sequence in
- 19:19Speaker 2: your dreams that's pretty.
- 19:20Speaker 6: Only for him though apparently my brain want to make
- 19:22Speaker 6: sure i'm putting jack wagner in this bitch you're gonna remember.
- 19:27Speaker 2: That was my question because yeah you mentioned that online
- 19:29Speaker 2: i was like wait Jack Wagner? Like, has been actor,
- 19:34Speaker 2: wannabe rock star Jack Wagner? And you were like, yep.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I was like, wow, those are some bad Slim Jims
- 19:40Speaker 2: you had.
- 19:40Speaker 6: You didn't have any Slim Jim dreams about Jack Wagner.
- 19:43Speaker 4: No, I dreamt about being in Florida again.
- 19:45Speaker 6: Was Jack Wagner there?
- 19:46Speaker 4: No, Jack Wagner wasn't there, but I was running away
- 19:49Speaker 4: from her.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Hurricane Jack Wagner.
- 19:53Speaker 10: Hurricane Jack Wagner.
- 19:57Speaker 2: That could be coming this way.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Something had to do with involving that gas station right
- 20:01Speaker 5: outside of Alabama.
- 20:03Speaker 4: A bunch of rednecks riding down the street on BMXs.
- 20:07Speaker 4: in mullets.
- 20:08Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 20:09Speaker 6: That guy was riding against traffic.
- 20:11Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what it was. That guy was stuck in
- 20:14Speaker 5: my dream. We were bitching about this guy riding against
- 20:17Speaker 5: traffic on a BMX.
- 20:19Speaker 3: What?
- 20:20Speaker 7: On the side of the road or in the middle?
- 20:22Speaker 4: On the side of the road, but there's not enough
- 20:23Speaker 4: room on the side of the road to be riding.
- 20:25Speaker 5: I mean, there was maybe a foot from the white line.
- 20:29Speaker 4: Not even that.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Some places it was right on the line.
- 20:32Speaker 4: This was Darwin at work.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Yeah, kind of.
- 20:37Speaker 6: I know the rules of the road. You follow the
- 20:39Speaker 6: flow of traffic.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Yeah, go with the flow.
- 20:41Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 20:42Speaker 6: Other than that, we started to watch True Blood again.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Yeah, again.
- 20:45Speaker 6: And I realized how stupid Eric's hair was in the
- 20:46Speaker 6: first season.
- 20:47Speaker 5: It made the flow stop.
- 20:48Speaker 10: He had stupid hair.
- 20:50Speaker 4: And I tried to play Fatal Frame last night and
- 20:51Speaker 4: got my ass kicked.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Aw.
- 20:52Speaker 10: Because you were asking about some ghosts.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Ghosts.
- 20:55Speaker 7: He didn't take pictures fast enough.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I couldn't.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I couldn't.
- 20:58Speaker 4: I tried to run away from him, and he would, like,
- 21:00Speaker 4: fade out into the wall.
- 21:01Speaker 6: That's what you get for wearing a miniskirt.
- 21:03Speaker 5: And he just faded.
- 21:05Speaker 4: That's not my problem.
- 21:09Speaker 5: It's an awesome game, by the way.
- 21:11Speaker 3: It is.
- 21:12Speaker 10: It is an awesome game.
- 21:13Speaker 5: You know, I don't get the outfit.
- 21:15Speaker 4: I mean, you know, we're going to go to a
- 21:16Speaker 4: haunted house, so they're going to put on a miniskirt.
- 21:19Speaker 4: The shortest miniskirt you could possibly find.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, isn't this how you do it?
- 21:23Speaker 7: It's good to air that region out.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Anytime I go hunting for ghosts with Japanese schoolgirls, that's
- 21:31Speaker 2: the way it is.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 7: But other than that, it's a good game.
- 21:34Speaker 4: I still just didn't have... I couldn't sit and play
- 21:37Speaker 4: it that long.
- 21:39Speaker 6: So instead you played Halo and got nauseous.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I get VR sickness pretty easily.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Oh, do you? Yeah, so I played about a half
- 21:45Speaker 5: an hour and it felt like I was going to
- 21:46Speaker 5: throw up and I had to turn the TV off.
- 21:47Speaker 2: You should know by now. You know your experiences with
- 21:50Speaker 2: shaky cam. This is like a whole game of shaky cam.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I can't play anything that's like that. I mean, ever
- 21:54Speaker 5: since Castle Wolfenstein came.
- 21:56Speaker 7: Out for Atari Jaguar.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I would play it and get headaches and then vomit.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I remember having a weird reaction to Turok. That one
- 22:06Speaker 2: had a lot of... That was pretty early on. It
- 22:09Speaker 2: was pretty good, yeah. And annoying, because it kind of
- 22:13Speaker 2: does that with your brain.
- 22:16Speaker 6: I did go on a mission to try to find
- 22:17Speaker 6: a really bad movie on DVD, so if anybody out
- 22:19Speaker 6: there can help me, I want Fever Lake, starring Corey
- 22:22Speaker 6: Haim and Mario Lopez.
- 22:25Speaker 8: Oh.
- 22:25Speaker 10: Oh.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:27Speaker 7: That Jim.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:29Speaker 7: How has that Jim been lost?
- 22:30Speaker 5: You didn't mention the other Corey movie that you bought yesterday.
- 22:33Speaker 10: Oh, the one I bought yesterday?
- 22:34Speaker 6: I did buy The 00 Kid.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Oh.
- 22:36Speaker 6: Which I was excited about because they had it there
- 22:39Speaker 6: for the longest time, but they only had one copy,
- 22:41Speaker 6: and their one copy was $ 54. And I'm like, fuck that.
- 22:43Speaker 6: I love me some Corey, but I'll buy a bootleg.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Then I went there yesterday. They had two copies. They
- 22:48Speaker 6: had the one for $ 54, then they had one for $ 8.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Gee, which one do I want?
- 22:53Speaker 5: Yeah, the one for $ 8 had a better case and
- 22:55Speaker 5: was in better shape.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Did it have more features?
- 22:58Speaker 3: No, nothing.
- 22:59Speaker 4: It was the same videotape.
- 23:01Speaker 10: Same DVD videotape, my ass.
- 23:03Speaker 8: I'm sorry.
- 23:04Speaker 4: I'm stuck in the 80s.
- 23:06Speaker 6: So yeah, I'm totally watching that tonight while you're not home.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Maybe the other one was like first edition. It was
- 23:11Speaker 2: the same thing.
- 23:12Speaker 10: I looked.
- 23:13Speaker 6: They're both released by Lionsgate.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Autographed by the writer of the movie right before he
- 23:17Speaker 2: killed himself.
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Wow.
- 23:21Speaker 10: And Bo Hoskins. Bo Hoskins was in.
- 23:23Speaker 3: It, too.
- 23:23Speaker 5: Bob Hoskins.
- 23:24Speaker 3: No, Bo.
- 23:25Speaker 7: No, I don't know Bo Hoskins.
- 23:28Speaker 10: Bo Hopkins.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Not Bob Hoskins.
- 23:30Speaker 7: I love you, Bob.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I'm picturing Bob Hoskins sliding across the hood of the
- 23:33Speaker 2: General Lee right now.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Nice.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Bo Hoskins. All righty.
- 23:39Speaker 10: Good time.
- 23:40Speaker 7: That's a good way to end this.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 2: It's like reason to end this. All right. We will
- 23:47Speaker 2: take a break and be back with What's the Buzz?
- 23:50Speaker 3: But now you're looking.
- 23:51Speaker 15: At me You're the only one.
- 23:54Speaker 10: I can think of You're the only one I see
- 23:58Speaker 10: All I.
- 24:10Speaker 3: It's just a.
- 24:11Speaker 15: Little more time to be sure what I feel.
- 24:17Speaker 10: Is it all in my mind?
- 24:19Speaker 15: Cause it seems so.
- 24:21Speaker 9: Hard to believe that you're all I need.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Need a little excitement?
- 24:29Speaker 6: Saboteur Slim Jim!
- 24:31Speaker 8: Men, there's a drive-in movie full of juicy people!
- 24:35Speaker 3: Wow!
- 24:39Speaker 2: It's a trap!
- 24:41Speaker 16: Help!
- 24:42Speaker 3: It's Pick!
- 24:44Speaker 16: We've had it, men.
- 24:48Speaker 8: A pleasant aroma for you, but not for mosquitoes. Pick
- 24:52Speaker 8: is easy to use. Light it and forget it. Pick's
- 24:55Speaker 8: aroma keeps mosquitoes, gnats, and sand flies away.
- 24:59Speaker 2: So if you don't.
- 24:59Speaker 11: Want our company ever anywhere, just light Pick and see
- 25:03Speaker 11: what I mean?
- 25:05Speaker 3: Bye!
- 25:07Speaker 8: Pick is on sale at the refreshment stand now.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Andy Warhol's Frankenstein is here. Kiss him.
- 25:13Speaker 10: Kiss him!
- 25:19Speaker 1: Newsweek magazine calls it the first original Frankenstein in years.
- 25:24Speaker 1: A perversely fascinating movie.
- 25:26Speaker 11: Only clowns.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Oh!
- 25:31Speaker 10: Not.
- 25:32Speaker 5: Not so close!
- 25:34Speaker 2: I can't... Stop it! What are you doing?
- 25:39Speaker 9: Stop it!
- 25:42Speaker 1: Andy Warhol's Frankenstein with its swooping bats, severed limbs, hideous

- 27:13Speaker 3: Hello, creeps. It's me, the Crypt Keeper.
- 27:17Speaker 2: And you're listening to Movie Meltdown, the greatest.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Movie geek show on Earth.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Yes, it's true, we've all been hurt before.
- 27:37Speaker 15: But it doesn't seem to matter anymore.
- 27:41Speaker 10: It may be a.
- 27:45Speaker 15: Chance we're taking, but it always comes to this. If
- 27:50Speaker 15: this isn't love we're making, then I don't know what
- 27:56Speaker 15: it is.
- 27:58Speaker 7: Does anybody remember who in the movie The Boy That
- 28:00Speaker 7: Could Fly, who that boy was?
- 28:03Speaker 2: Sadly, I can't remember.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I was trying to remember. I don't know why I
- 28:06Speaker 5: came up.
- 28:07Speaker 2: He was barely in on anything else.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 2: The Boy Who Could Fly.
- 28:11Speaker 5: The movie The Boy Who Could Fly.
- 28:12Speaker 10: I've never seen it.
- 28:13Speaker 5: I've never seen it.
- 28:13Speaker 10: I've never heard of it.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Really?
- 28:15Speaker 10: It's... I got nothing.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I know the girl in it. She didn't do my
- 28:20Speaker 2: jealous either. I think she's like Lucy Deakins or something.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Early 80s?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Mid 80s?
- 28:24Speaker 7: Like 84-ish?
- 28:24Speaker 2: I don't think it was like early 90s. I think
- 28:26Speaker 2: it was 80s, yeah.
- 28:27Speaker 5: Are you talking about Astro Boy?
- 28:37Speaker 2: No, it was a boy, and he could fly. It
- 28:39Speaker 2: actually was a good setup. It gets sort of silly
- 28:42Speaker 2: by the end, but the whole first half of it,
- 28:44Speaker 2: it's like a lot of those kid movies at the time.
- 28:46Speaker 2: They set it up kind of serious and pretty cool.
- 28:48Speaker 2: And then at the end they're like, shit, how do
- 28:50Speaker 2: we do this now? Like, they don't know how to
- 28:51Speaker 2: end it, so they end it kind of... Yeah, it
- 28:54Speaker 2: was like Flight of the Navigator and like Explorers. It's
- 28:56Speaker 2: like they saw... He just flies into a building and dies. Yeah,
- 28:58Speaker 2: it's like they set it up so awesome in the
- 29:00Speaker 2: beginning and then they get midway through and like, oh yeah,
- 29:02Speaker 2: this is for kids. Let's throw some crazy stupid crap
- 29:05Speaker 2: in here. Yeah, so I'm just... That was another one
- 29:07Speaker 2: of those. They just didn't know how to end what
- 29:09Speaker 2: was sort of a good, really weird original idea.
- 29:12Speaker 10: I love Flight of the Navigator.
- 29:13Speaker 5: It was pretty cool.
- 29:14Speaker 6: I so wanted that little creature thing that hung around.
- 29:16Speaker 5: That weird eyeball, like.
- 29:18Speaker 6: No, it was a little guy who had a little
- 29:21Speaker 6: tail and little hands.
- 29:23Speaker 7: Little gross hands. Little grabby, clutchy, sweaty paws.
- 29:27Speaker 5: He kind of looked like a cross between a bear
- 29:30Speaker 5: with no hair.
- 29:32Speaker 7: Like Fuzzy Wuzzy?
- 29:33Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:35Speaker 13: Fuzzy Wuzzy always reminds me of Fozzy.
- 29:37Speaker 10: I don't know why.
- 29:39Speaker 6: But Fozzy can't hear him.
- 29:40Speaker 8: Know.
- 29:40Speaker 10: That's weird. It was Fozzy before he had, like... What.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Is the buzz? Jay Underwood.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Jay Underwood.
- 29:48Speaker 7: Okay.
- 29:48Speaker 10: That's Jay Underwood.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Which, again, I don't... Is there an image of him? Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 2: there is.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Okay.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Sort of, kind of, yeah. He did a few things
- 29:59Speaker 2: at that time and then disappeared. Same thing with the
- 30:02Speaker 2: Lucy chick. I kind of remember her, but she very
- 30:05Speaker 2: quickly disappeared off the radar. All right, then we will
- 30:09Speaker 2: actually move into What's the Buzz?
- 30:11Speaker 3: Groovy.
- 30:20Speaker 18: The wachowskis are back and a movie very unlikely for
- 30:27Speaker 18: them oh which i guess we'll get into have you
- 30:30Speaker 18: heard much about the wachowski.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Brothers and i'm using quotes right now yeah I hadn't
- 30:40Speaker 2: heard much about them and I guess I missed one
- 30:42Speaker 2: of the big stories which we'll get to at the
- 30:44Speaker 2: end if you guys haven't heard but first we'll do
- 30:47Speaker 2: this story the director is Wachowski who brought us the
- 30:51Speaker 2: Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer I.
- 30:54Speaker 5: Like Speed Racer I've seen that I hear visually it's
- 30:59Speaker 5: impressive enough to make up for the story shortcoming so that's.
- 31:03Speaker 10: Cool isn't one of them a chick now That's.
- 31:07Speaker 2: A whole other... What? That was the other weird issue.
- 31:09Speaker 17: One of the.
- 31:10Speaker 6: I can't even say their names.
- 31:11Speaker 2: The brothers.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:13Speaker 6: I guess we'll... It's a brother and sister, I guess.
- 31:15Speaker 10: Oh.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess we'll go ahead and jump to that.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Why don't they be the Wachowski brothers? It was Andy and.
- 31:20Speaker 10: The Wachowski siblings?
- 31:21Speaker 2: Yeah. It was Andy and Larry, and now it's Andy
- 31:24Speaker 2: and Lana?
- 31:25Speaker 7: Wait, wait, wait.
- 31:26Speaker 10: So Larry's sex changed?
- 31:28Speaker 2: Larry, born a male, is now living as a female
- 31:31Speaker 2: under the name Lana Wachowski or Linda, according to some reports.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Though somewhat.
- 31:35Speaker 6: That's just confusing.
- 31:37Speaker 8: Well, yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Right?
- 31:38Speaker 2: You wouldn't want that.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Pick a name.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Well, this is reports.
- 31:42Speaker 10: We can't choose our names.
- 31:44Speaker 2: So, yeah. Though somewhat female.
- 31:47Speaker 10: Tell me, Bubba. Stop.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Though somewhat female in appearance... Uh, he, she is, has, uh,
- 31:55Speaker 2: not officially on that. We know it's still sort of
- 31:58Speaker 2: questionable as to whether or not he's had any official
- 32:00Speaker 2: sex change operation type of behavior. Yeah. So very strange.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I mean, there's not like that's not going on a lot.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And you know, you even got like the Arquette sibling,
- 32:13Speaker 2: but that's pretty much the only reason anybody knew who
- 32:15Speaker 2: that person was until I don't.
- 32:17Speaker 4: Know anything about this Arquette thing.
- 32:22Speaker 7: Person.
- 32:24Speaker 5: We can talk later about it.
- 32:27Speaker 2: There's the other Arquette. There's like four now.
- 32:29Speaker 10: Wasn't he on a reality show?
- 32:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean, that's the only reason anybody knew
- 32:33Speaker 2: who that person was was because of that and because
- 32:36Speaker 2: of their name. He was in Scream.
- 32:39Speaker 4: Sorry, that's the wrong one.
- 32:42Speaker 2: No, you can't even make him an ugly woman.
- 32:45Speaker 10: No but this god no.
- 32:46Speaker 2: This is a i mean the that's a pretty big
- 32:49Speaker 2: name so it's i don't know i haven't seen a
- 32:51Speaker 2: whole lot of celebrities that are that you know recognizable
- 32:54Speaker 2: deciding to just change genders midway and that's that's kind
- 32:57Speaker 2: of a very interesting uh platform yeah i guess so So, yeah,
- 33:03Speaker 2: that having been said.
- 33:05Speaker 7: So the siblings.
- 33:06Speaker 2: The siblings, yeah, I guess we're not supposed to call
- 33:09Speaker 2: them the Wachowski brothers anymore.
- 33:10Speaker 4: They're making a remake of Glen or Glinda, right?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Kind of. They're heading down a road that had I not, again,
- 33:17Speaker 2: I read this first and before I'd even read the
- 33:20Speaker 2: other story and was like, this is strange for them.
- 33:22Speaker 2: And then I read the other story and went, oh, okay. So, yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 2: they're now shooting material for their next project called CN9,
- 33:30Speaker 2: including shooting material with Ariana Huffington and Jesse Ventura. Figure
- 33:35Speaker 2: those out.
- 33:37Speaker 5: Jesse Ventura.
- 33:39Speaker 6: What?
- 33:40Speaker 2: So the premises for CN9 will be set in the
- 33:43Speaker 2: near future and involve a homosexual relationship between an American
- 33:47Speaker 2: soldier and an Iraqi as war in that nation continues
- 33:50Speaker 2: in the future. I was like, okay, that's kind of
- 33:52Speaker 2: a weird storyline anyway. But now it's even... What the fuck?
- 33:56Speaker 2: I guess a little more appropriate? I don't know.
- 33:59Speaker 7: Sounds like they might be going off the deep end.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe so. I mean, as if the two and
- 34:04Speaker 2: three in the Matrix series were deep enough. Yeah.
- 34:08Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I don't know what to do with that exactly. There's
- 34:11Speaker 2: a whole lot of confusing things going on there. Probably
- 34:13Speaker 2: in his life as well. That's... But yeah, and also
- 34:16Speaker 2: just a weird direction for them. If you take all
- 34:18Speaker 2: that out, it's like it's also supposed to be, you know,
- 34:20Speaker 2: not the crazy, weird, you know, over-the-top super CGI style
- 34:25Speaker 2: that they're known for.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Yeah, that they do.
- 34:27Speaker 2: But they're billing it as a less flashy cinema verite style.
- 34:31Speaker 2: So I'm like... they haven't done that in a long
- 34:34Speaker 2: like other than their first feature it's like there's really
- 34:37Speaker 2: nothing of theirs that shows them you know they can
- 34:40Speaker 2: even do that i mean they they did a good
- 34:42Speaker 2: job the first time out but yeah it's just kind
- 34:44Speaker 2: of weird that they're trying to return to that and
- 34:46Speaker 2: at the same time cross over into this special area.
- 34:50Speaker 5: Yeah i don't know interesting times very strange fun.
- 34:54Speaker 6: Times I want to talk about the buzz that I'm
- 34:56Speaker 6: excited about, which has been kind of a buzz for
- 34:58Speaker 6: a while now, but it's even more exciting that the
- 35:00Speaker 6: trailer is actually out.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Oh, God. Oh, yeah.
- 35:03Speaker 6: The Sharktopus trailer has made its debut this week.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yes, it has.
- 35:07Speaker 6: Sharktopus?
- 35:08Speaker 2: Sharktopus.
- 35:09Speaker 7: Sharktopus.
- 35:11Speaker 6: The new Roger Corman film starring Eric Roberts and a Sharktopus.
- 35:16Speaker 4: Yes.
- 35:16Speaker 10: Half shark, half octopus.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Half puss.
- 35:18Speaker 5: All awesome.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 6: It growls, for God's sakes. It goes rawr.
- 35:24Speaker 2: As it should.
- 35:25Speaker 6: I didn't know sharks had vocal cords and could make
- 35:27Speaker 6: any sounds whatsoever.
- 35:28Speaker 7: Or that they could conjoin with octopods.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Well, yeah, they also don't have eight legs, so.
- 35:32Speaker 10: It's a scientific thing.
- 35:33Speaker 6: They were creating the perfect weapon.
- 35:36Speaker 2: And the perfect weapon has, like, the vocal cords of, like,
- 35:39Speaker 2: a grizzly bear.
- 35:40Speaker 7: And no option of leaving the ocean.
- 35:42Speaker 2: No, it leaves the ocean.
- 35:45Speaker 7: How stupid of me to think this.
- 35:47Speaker 2: You and your logical science.
- 35:50Speaker 12: Oh, Roger.
- 35:51Speaker 6: Octopus legs and growls.
- 35:55Speaker 10: Do they stick and like.
- 35:57Speaker 7: Yeah, seriously.
- 35:59Speaker 2: There are arm motions going on right now.
- 36:01Speaker 5: They were basically awesome.
- 36:02Speaker 6: My roots cannot describe how excited I was the first time,
- 36:05Speaker 6: the second time, or the third time I watched this trailer.
- 36:09Speaker 6: And I'm still excited. I am excited. At the end
- 36:11Speaker 6: of the trailer, it says, Coming soon. And coming soon
- 36:14Speaker 6: is not fast enough because I want to see this
- 36:16Speaker 6: with every fiber of my being.
- 36:18Speaker 4: The soundtrack is pretty awesome, too.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Oh, that song they play, the shark-to-puss song.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Yeah, they have their own shark-to-puss song.
- 36:23Speaker 4: It's kind of a little surf-y kind of... Campy 60s.
- 36:26Speaker 14: Giant.
- 36:26Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 36:28Speaker 10: We're going to have to watch it later.
- 36:29Speaker 3: You know we are.
- 36:30Speaker 5: Okay. It's on.
- 36:31Speaker 10: It's on like Red Dawn. It's on.
- 36:34Speaker 2: The sad part is, last week I watched the indie theater,
- 36:38Speaker 2: the trailer for the Piranha 3D, whatever the hell.
- 36:42Speaker 10: Which I so am going to go see.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I want to see that too, but it's sad that
- 36:45Speaker 2: the Piranha special effects don't look any better than Sharktopus.
- 36:50Speaker 5: What?
- 36:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Piranha which has got a pretty good amount of recognizable
- 36:55Speaker 2: names and i'm assuming eric roberts eric roberts i'm still
- 36:59Speaker 2: surprised he's in that but still that's pretty much.
- 37:01Speaker 6: They got money for their cgs.
- 37:03Speaker 2: But that's the thing i expected a little uh i
- 37:06Speaker 2: mean for something that's making it two theaters and starring
- 37:09Speaker 2: all these people i thought well i mean that's the
- 37:12Speaker 2: thing you watch this trailer it looks like it should
- 37:15Speaker 2: be on the sci-fi.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Really back to back the shark.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Department Oh, yeah, it really should. And the thing is,
- 37:20Speaker 2: I'm not knocking it. That still looks awesome. But, yeah,
- 37:23Speaker 2: it looks so bad. The CGI is so bad in it.
- 37:26Speaker 10: I'm still going to be there seeing it, though.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I expected it with Sharktopus, and it's on the SIFI channel. But, yeah,
- 37:32Speaker 2: this is going to theaters. I expected a little more
- 37:34Speaker 2: out of this. But, oh, well, it's 3D bad CGI,
- 37:37Speaker 2: so I guess we'll go see that.
- 37:38Speaker 14: Who knows?
- 37:39Speaker 10: I'm totally in for that one.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yeah, if you haven't seen the Sharktopus trailer, go look
- 37:45Speaker 2: for it right now because it is pretty damn awesome,
- 37:47Speaker 2: I have to say.
- 37:48Speaker 5: Speaking of sci-fi, I forgot to mention, Misty and I
- 37:51Speaker 5: watched the, I guess it's kind of a steampunk version
- 37:54Speaker 5: of Beowulf starring Christopher Lambert.
- 37:57Speaker 8: Really?
- 37:57Speaker 3: Lambert.
- 37:58Speaker 5: It was.
- 37:58Speaker 6: And Mac from Lightcore. And Mac from Lightcore, yeah.
- 38:02Speaker 10: It was weird.
- 38:03Speaker 2: That's all I've heard.
- 38:04Speaker 5: Lambert kind of looking like, what's that guy that everybody
- 38:07Speaker 5: likes on.
- 38:09Speaker 4: The news reporter.
- 38:11Speaker 10: Anderson Cooper.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got kind of an Anderson Cooper look, you know,
- 38:14Speaker 4: going on.
- 38:14Speaker 10: Except for not hot.
- 38:15Speaker 5: But then he does a lot of flips and does
- 38:17Speaker 5: his usual bad Lambert dialogue.
- 38:19Speaker 10: He is way too old for those flips.
- 38:21Speaker 6: He's going to break something.
- 38:22Speaker 2: He's way too old for everything now.
- 38:23Speaker 5: They cut away to a stunt double all the time,
- 38:26Speaker 5: and then it's just kind of him, the guy's doing flips,
- 38:28Speaker 5: and then he just kind of, you know.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Sort of, yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 7: It's kind of funny.
- 38:33Speaker 10: I can't face, like, get his face in my mind.
- 38:36Speaker 10: What was he?
- 38:36Speaker 2: Highlander?
- 38:37Speaker 6: Okay yeah thanks i was like.
- 38:41Speaker 10: I know this name i.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Know his only real claim to fame he's in a
- 38:45Speaker 2: lot of stuff but nobody wants to claim the rest
- 38:47Speaker 2: of it yeah no nobody wants to claim the rest of.
- 38:51Speaker 12: It god what an abortion yeah yeah get a white
- 38:54Speaker 12: guy to play the asian god of thunder that makes
- 38:56Speaker 12: a lot of fucking sense right there it.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Does in america That's how we roll in this country.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Have you not seen The Last Airbender? They changed all
- 39:06Speaker 2: kinds of... I haven't seen that one either.
- 39:08Speaker 5: I don't want to see it.
- 39:09Speaker 2: There's a whole lot of.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Or David Carradine as the Asian guy in Crank 2.
- 39:12Speaker 5: CG Appa is so... I just saw the trailer and
- 39:15Speaker 5: I was like, oh, that's the worst thing I've ever
- 39:16Speaker 5: seen in my frickin' life.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Or David Carradine stealing Bruce Lee's part in fuckin'... Kung Fu?
- 39:23Speaker 4: Kung Fu.
- 39:24Speaker 2: It's been going on for quite a while now.
- 39:27Speaker 6: I want to watch Crank 2 again and that sucks
- 39:29Speaker 6: because that movie's horrible.
- 39:30Speaker 5: It's awesome.
- 39:31Speaker 10: I love it.
- 39:32Speaker 6: I just want to watch the Corey part again with
- 39:33Speaker 6: his got milk shirt. Nice jugs or something.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Nice jugs.
- 39:40Speaker 10: That's awesome.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Yikes.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Continuing, is there any more buzz?
- 39:43Speaker 2: No, there's plenty more buzz. Bring on the buzz.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Sidetracked and derailed.
- 39:47Speaker 2: All right, so this will tie into a very specific
- 39:51Speaker 2: faction of our geekery here. So after starring in I
- 39:55Speaker 2: Am Legend, about a world taken over by zombies with
- 39:58Speaker 2: sort of vampire-like traits, Will Smith is now set to
- 40:01Speaker 2: produce and star in the adaptation of what some say
- 40:04Speaker 2: is the original vampire. It will be The Legend of Cain. Cain,
- 40:09Speaker 2: one of the sons of Adam and Eve.
- 40:11Speaker 10: Dean Cain?
- 40:12Speaker 2: Yes. The ultimate evil is Dean Cain. You're right.
- 40:16Speaker 4: No, Cain from Legacy of Cain.
- 40:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:21Speaker 4: Why didn't they make a movie of that? That's a
- 40:22Speaker 4: cool-ass game. Make a cool movie. They just screw it up.
- 40:26Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 40:27Speaker 2: So, yeah, this would be Cain, the son of Adam
- 40:29Speaker 2: and Eve, the first murderer, if you will. And, yeah, lately,
- 40:33Speaker 2: you know, there's all kinds of crazy Bible stories. But, yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 2: in the recent years, they've claimed that he is the
- 40:39Speaker 2: first vampire, notably in the vampire... Why do they suck?
- 40:43Speaker 2: They need glitter.
- 40:47Speaker 4: Do you give piggyback rides?
- 40:49Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 40:49Speaker 6: I still want a piggyback ride.
- 40:52Speaker 2: You're going to kill somebody with that piggyback ride.
- 40:54Speaker 3: I will.
- 40:54Speaker 4: She tried to get me to give her a piggyback
- 40:56Speaker 4: ride in a big lot yesterday.
- 40:58Speaker 10: And you wouldn't.
- 40:58Speaker 9: No.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Oh, Lord.
- 41:02Speaker 2: So, yeah, most notably in the Vampire the Masquerade role-playing game,
- 41:05Speaker 2: and it's been borrowed for a lot of other vampire
- 41:08Speaker 2: stories now. So that's pretty much where the direction on
- 41:11Speaker 2: this Will Smith project is going to go. There's no
- 41:14Speaker 2: director attack, but the script is written by Kaylee Pinkett
- 41:18Speaker 2: and Dan Knopf, who is the writer of episodes of
- 41:21Speaker 2: Carnival and Supernatural.
- 41:23Speaker 9: Oh, nice.
- 41:24Speaker 2: So I figured you two would be schooled on this
- 41:26Speaker 2: because to tie it in, the Knopf guy who wrote
- 41:30Speaker 2: that episode of Supernatural specifically worked in that Dean and
- 41:34Speaker 2: Sam are direct descendants of Kane. So there's your geek
- 41:37Speaker 2: tie in there.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Nice. That's pretty awesome.
- 41:39Speaker 5: So who's playing Kane?
- 41:40Speaker 10: I like this.
- 41:41Speaker 5: Will Smith.
- 41:42Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, I don't know.
- 41:43Speaker 7: Will Smith's son.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Dean Kane is the ultimate evil, and Jaden.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Jackie Chan.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Jaden has to come in and kill people with a stake,
- 41:51Speaker 2: and Jackie Chan helps him. Yeah, this sounds great. I
- 41:54Speaker 2: don't know. I don't know what to do with it.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Is this sort of an interesting project, or is it
- 41:58Speaker 2: just more vampire stuff?
- 41:59Speaker 7: It sounds kind of interesting-esque.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I'll see the trailer and decide.
- 42:02Speaker 10: I'm pretty excited.
- 42:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I like the people involved. I mean, you know, I
- 42:06Speaker 2: think Will can do good movies, and I think he's
- 42:09Speaker 2: kind of good at that. So, I don't know.
- 42:12Speaker 10: He normally doesn't pick crap.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Well, if you discount the last couple of years. But
- 42:19Speaker 2: in the past, he was in at least fun movies. See,
- 42:22Speaker 2: I haven't even watched that one.
- 42:24Speaker 13: It's incredibly sad, and if you want to see Will
- 42:26Speaker 13: Smith cry the entire time.
- 42:28Speaker 7: I don't want to see that happen.
- 42:30Speaker 2: I'm thinking more of the Hitch movies.
- 42:32Speaker 8: Oh, God, yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 2: That run of putting that stuff out.
- 42:34Speaker 10: I like Hitch, too.
- 42:35Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I've avoided most of them.
- 42:37Speaker 10: I love it. It's Will Smith.
- 42:39Speaker 5: I do like Wild Wild West.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the Wild Wild West. He's had his down
- 42:44Speaker 2: points in the career, but he's usually pretty solid, so.
- 42:48Speaker 10: Don't talk bad about Will Smith.
- 42:50Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Big Willie Styles. I just want to know what happened
- 42:54Speaker 5: to DJ Jazzy Jeff.
- 42:55Speaker 8: He's dead.
- 42:56Speaker 9: Is he really?
- 42:57Speaker 2: No, he's not.
- 42:58Speaker 7: He actually still makes music.
- 43:00Speaker 2: We're starting that rumor right now, though.
- 43:02Speaker 4: Nobody cares about him.
- 43:04Speaker 2: He had an album.
- 43:05Speaker 10: Come out last May.
- 43:06Speaker 7: Yeah, it's really good, actually.
- 43:08Speaker 2: But everybody listening, go out on the internet and put
- 43:11Speaker 2: that right now. I want to see it in a
- 43:13Speaker 2: couple of weeks rotating around the internet.
- 43:16Speaker 7: DJ Jazzy's dead.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Dude, did you hear? Jazzy Jeff's dead. We'll be like,
- 43:19Speaker 2: we started that.
- 43:21Speaker 5: We started it.
- 43:22Speaker 2: So yeah, and then Jazzy Jeff calling.
- 43:24Speaker 7: Well, then we'll get noticed. That's how we'll get our notoriety. Just,
- 43:27Speaker 7: you know, bad press. It's still press, right?
- 43:29Speaker 6: It's just our random celebrities every show. And eventually somebody's
- 43:32Speaker 6: bound to catch on.
- 43:33Speaker 10: Or somebody's bound to die, and then we'll be right.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Then we'll get millions of dollars.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I love Betty White, but she's getting old. Don't talk
- 43:40Speaker 2: about Betty White like that.
- 43:42Speaker 10: Betty White's going to live forever.
- 43:43Speaker 2: She is a deity always.
- 43:45Speaker 6: Already she was up awful late for an old person.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Oh lord Okay, so this one, I don't know what
- 43:56Speaker 2: to do with. Paramount Pictures this week picked up an
- 43:58Speaker 2: original pitch by rookie screenwriters. Original pitch?
- 44:01Speaker 10: Hold on.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Yeah, no, they don't do those. Well, okay, original in
- 44:05Speaker 2: the Hollywood sense because they're cramming two movies together.
- 44:07Speaker 5: Nice.
- 44:08Speaker 2: But I give them credit. I don't even care who
- 44:11Speaker 2: these guys are. Nobody knows their name, but they sold
- 44:13Speaker 2: their first script, which was called Fuck You, I Win.
- 44:16Speaker 2: I give them points for that. That's pretty awesome.
- 44:19Speaker 5: It catches you. It kind of grabs you.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty awesome. Sadly, that's not the one they're making.
- 44:23Speaker 2: This untitled script is reportedly a mixture of the basic
- 44:27Speaker 2: story of Victor Hugo's The Hunchback of Notre Dame and
- 44:30Speaker 2: the action-adventure story that is being compared to the Pirates
- 44:33Speaker 2: of the Caribbean. So, yeah. I don't know.
- 44:37Speaker 5: A swashbuckling hunchback?
- 44:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 2: I'm like, that's a weird... Outer space.
- 44:41Speaker 5: Yeah, in outer space.
- 44:43Speaker 2: That's a weird combination. And with the exception of Joni's
- 44:46Speaker 2: intense love for that kid from Masked, It's really hard to,
- 44:51Speaker 2: you know, people don't respond well to the lead actor having,
- 44:54Speaker 2: let's say, an unmarketable face.
- 44:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Because I think that was the problem with the Disney
- 44:59Speaker 2: animated Hunchback. I mean, that was really the first one
- 45:01Speaker 2: in that run that sort of took a nosedive. I mean,
- 45:04Speaker 2: after they came back with Little Mermaid, it was just,
- 45:06Speaker 2: you know, bigger and bigger.
- 45:08Speaker 17: Smash, smash, smash.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it was like... And then the Hunchback. Yeah,
- 45:10Speaker 2: it was like Beauty and the Beast was huge. Lion
- 45:12Speaker 2: King was ridiculously huge. And then Hunchback... kids, do you
- 45:17Speaker 2: really want to see this weird-looking kid?
- 45:19Speaker 6: I don't like movies that get ugly people in it.
- 45:21Speaker 10: I watch movies.
- 45:22Speaker 5: Even ugly cartoons.
- 45:23Speaker 2: I want to see ugly people.
- 45:24Speaker 8: I'll go to Walmart.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Right?
- 45:25Speaker 10: Because they're prettier than people we know.
- 45:28Speaker 2: I want to see hunchbacks.
- 45:29Speaker 6: I'll go to Walmart.
- 45:31Speaker 10: Or apparently on Market.
- 45:33Speaker 2: We had one today, yeah.
- 45:35Speaker 6: Or the zombie.
- 45:36Speaker 2: The zombie on Bardstown Road. You were a good focus
- 45:39Speaker 2: group to go with because we're very superficial here.
- 45:41Speaker 3: I am.
- 45:42Speaker 10: I still dream all the time.
- 45:43Speaker 6: It's a good thing he's pretty.
- 45:44Speaker 13: And I didn't ever get the fact that Esmeralda was
- 45:48Speaker 13: a whore.
- 45:49Speaker 2: I didn't like that.
- 45:51Speaker 10: I was like, I don't like this.
- 45:53Speaker 2: I like that part, but they just didn't show the
- 45:55Speaker 2: good part. This is a stupid Disney movie. oh man
- 46:05Speaker 2: so yeah i i don't know that just seems like
- 46:07Speaker 2: i can see the you know the the victor hugo
- 46:09Speaker 2: end of it because he had pretty good grand scale
- 46:12Speaker 2: stories and i guess but if you're it depends if
- 46:14Speaker 2: you're gonna make the hunchback the action adventure star if
- 46:18Speaker 2: not maybe he's just there to be like you know
- 46:20Speaker 2: the igor of the you know the the big you
- 46:22Speaker 2: know He's a sidekick. The hunky swashbuckler goes around doing
- 46:25Speaker 2: what he does, and then he's got him there to, like,
- 46:27Speaker 2: carry his bags and shit.
- 46:28Speaker 12: And he's got plucky quips that'll, like, inject into every situation,
- 46:33Speaker 12: and people will be like, aw, he's nice.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Yeah, see, I could almost see that working. I can't
- 46:37Speaker 2: see the hunchback being the lead and carrying it.
- 46:40Speaker 5: You work at, like, that one Sherlock Holmes movie where
- 46:43Speaker 5: it was, like, Sherlock Holmes was just... kind of like
- 46:46Speaker 5: the face, and Watson was the real one who solved
- 46:49Speaker 5: all the mysteries and was smart, and Sherlock was just
- 46:51Speaker 5: a complete bumbling fool.
- 46:53Speaker 11: Yep.
- 46:53Speaker 4: You work it like that.
- 46:54Speaker 2: See, that could be interesting, too. I don't see them
- 46:57Speaker 2: doing it.
- 46:58Speaker 5: The hunchback, he battles all the monsters, and the good-looking
- 47:01Speaker 5: guy takes all the fame, and the women.
- 47:04Speaker 2: It's like Inspector Gadget.
- 47:05Speaker 5: See, that could be a little like that. If it
- 47:07Speaker 5: wasn't for that damn dog and that kid, he wouldn't
- 47:10Speaker 5: solve a damn thing.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Penny's awesome.
- 47:12Speaker 5: Penny was awesome. Her book was really awesome. Her book.
- 47:17Speaker 4: Her book computer.
- 47:18Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 47:19Speaker 5: Solved everything.
- 47:20Speaker 2: You know you wanted one of those.
- 47:21Speaker 5: Oh, I wanted Penny. What did you think he said?
- 47:22Speaker 10: When I was a kid, I was like, Penny, ooh.
- 47:25Speaker 5: She made me crotch feel funny when I was a
- 47:27Speaker 5: little man.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Yeah. Yes, it was.
- 47:30Speaker 5: Very much so.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Don't pretend like it stopped now. All right. So there's
- 47:36Speaker 2: many to choose from here.
- 47:37Speaker 8: Let's see.
- 47:38Speaker 2: We'll pick one or the other here. Do you want
- 47:40Speaker 2: some Amanda Seyfried or some Tinkerbell?
- 47:43Speaker 8: Amanda.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Okay, good, because nobody cares about... They're trying to do
- 47:46Speaker 2: live-action Tinkerbell. Does anybody care?
- 47:47Speaker 6: I think it's somebody that's way too old, too.
- 47:50Speaker 2: It's Elizabeth Banks.
- 47:50Speaker 10: Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 47:51Speaker 2: I like Elizabeth Banks.
- 47:52Speaker 5: Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 47:53Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Ouch.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Crotchety old Tinkerbell.
- 47:57Speaker 10: I can see her being Tinkerbell though.
- 47:59Speaker 13: Especially that short hair she has in those Timia commercials.
- 48:02Speaker 3: Yikes.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Man, if Tinkerbell needs some help in that area, I
- 48:07Speaker 2: think we need to give it up. So, yeah. Peek-a-boop.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 48:13Speaker 7: Oh, my God.
- 48:17Speaker 2: So the better option here, Amanda Seyfried, the star of
- 48:20Speaker 2: Mamma Mia and co-star of HBO's Big Love and basically
- 48:24Speaker 2: every girly movie they make these days.
- 48:26Speaker 6: She's so cute.
- 48:27Speaker 2: She will now be starring in a science fiction film
- 48:29Speaker 2: called I Am Mortal, which is spelled all funky. It's
- 48:33Speaker 2: I'm period mortal.
- 48:36Speaker 3: It's, yeah.
- 48:36Speaker 2: They have to spell everything funky now. They think they're cool. So, yeah,
- 48:40Speaker 2: it's a 20th Century Fox production. It is written and
- 48:43Speaker 2: will be directed by Andrew Nicol, whose past science fiction
- 48:47Speaker 2: films include Gattaca, which is actually awesome, and Simone, which
- 48:51Speaker 2: is another one spelled all funky with a one for
- 48:53Speaker 2: an I.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Screw all that.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Just spell words right. So, yeah, this story is set
- 48:59Speaker 2: in the future where people can avoid aging and live
- 49:01Speaker 2: forever as long as they can continue to pay. So
- 49:04Speaker 2: the story will focus on a man who's being chased
- 49:06Speaker 2: because his time is up and Seyfried will play a
- 49:08Speaker 2: woman that he kidnaps along the way. Is it just
- 49:10Speaker 2: me or is this like another crammy? It's like Repo
- 49:13Speaker 2: the Genetic Opera with Logan's run.
- 49:15Speaker 5: Yeah, i would.
- 49:16Speaker 6: Totally go for that shit i would.
- 49:19Speaker 2: Pay to stay young i guess but it's just that
- 49:22Speaker 2: that pay to stay young thing is so beaten to
- 49:24Speaker 2: death at this point i mean we've had two repo
- 49:27Speaker 2: movies and there's like 14 other the island and every
- 49:30Speaker 2: other movie that sort of ties into that so Which.
- 49:33Speaker 10: I watched recently as well. I'm sorry, I forgot to throw.
- 49:36Speaker 3: That in there.
- 49:37Speaker 4: What about Iron Sky?
- 49:38Speaker 7: Doesn't anybody care about Iron Sky? Yeah, that looks bad.
- 49:40Speaker 5: I want Iron Sky. I want Space Nazis.
- 49:43Speaker 7: Space Nazis from the moon.
- 49:44Speaker 5: If you haven't heard of Iron Sky, go to their website,
- 49:49Speaker 5: Iron Sky, and vote on them to get that damn
- 49:52Speaker 5: movie made.
- 49:53Speaker 6: You can sponsor it, too.
- 49:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 49:56Speaker 2: They're a lot of money. Right after you get... Right
- 49:58Speaker 2: after you give us a lot of money, throw a
- 49:59Speaker 2: lot of money at them.
- 50:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Get that movie made.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Nazis in space.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Love it.
- 50:05Speaker 7: So, yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 2: To round it out, we'll come back to the previously
- 50:09Speaker 2: mentioned deity. You know what?
- 50:10Speaker 17: You love it.
- 50:11Speaker 2: It's time for the remakes of the week. Or just remake, actually.
- 50:16Speaker 2: The remake of the week.
- 50:17Speaker 10: No plurals.
- 50:17Speaker 2: You only get one this time.
- 50:19Speaker 8: Hmm.
- 50:20Speaker 2: So, yeah. And this one I'm surprised they haven't done.
- 50:24Speaker 2: I actually was thinking about this recently, most recently yesterday,
- 50:27Speaker 2: because John Denver came on the radio, and I was like, man,
- 50:30Speaker 2: that John Denver was a cool dude, you know? I'm
- 50:32Speaker 2: pretty much alone in that thought, I know.
- 50:34Speaker 10: I love Jonathan.
- 50:35Speaker 2: He's so square, you gotta like him, you know?
- 50:38Speaker 10: Haircut.
- 50:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he's such a dork, you gotta love him.
- 50:40Speaker 10: He's like pure for some reason.
- 50:41Speaker 2: And he hung out with the Muppets. That's always a
- 50:44Speaker 2: big plus in my book, if you hang out with
- 50:45Speaker 2: the Muppets.
- 50:46Speaker 6: Are they remaking Final Destination? That's the first thing that
- 50:48Speaker 6: pops in my head when I hear you say it.
- 50:50Speaker 2: And I like that tie-in. I always thought that was
- 50:52Speaker 2: a clever tie-in for them. No, this one, but I'm
- 50:56Speaker 2: just surprised they haven't gotten around to this already. Warner
- 50:58Speaker 2: Brothers is now in the works to greenlight a remake
- 51:01Speaker 2: of the 1977 comedy Oh God. Oh, what? Which I
- 51:04Speaker 2: kind of, like it's been 77. I can't believe this
- 51:08Speaker 2: movie is big and recognizable as that they haven't done already.
- 51:12Speaker 2: So if you don't know, yeah, it had George Burns
- 51:14Speaker 2: as God, which he kind of was. We know that.
- 51:18Speaker 2: And John Vendor was the normal guy, and he ropes
- 51:20Speaker 2: him into helping him spread the word or whatever the
- 51:22Speaker 2: hell was going on. So, yeah, after following the reception
- 51:27Speaker 2: of her guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, the producer
- 51:30Speaker 2: hopes to entice Betty White to star in the remake
- 51:33Speaker 2: as God, I'm assuming. Hell yeah. People love some Betty White.
- 51:38Speaker 2: So at this point, I can actually see people getting
- 51:40Speaker 2: behind that just because it's Betty White.
- 51:43Speaker 6: How come people didn't love Rue McClanahan as much?
- 51:45Speaker 2: Because she was a whore.
- 51:46Speaker 10: Yeah, she was kind of whore-ish.
- 51:47Speaker 2: She was a man.
- 51:49Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 10: Oh, I love Bea Arthur.
- 51:52Speaker 4: I like Bea Arthur, too.
- 51:53Speaker 10: And the other lady.
- 51:55Speaker 2: The poor forgotten one that was the old lady, but
- 51:57Speaker 2: she wasn't really the old lady. And yet still died first.
- 52:01Speaker 2: So what are you going to do? So crotchety. They're
- 52:07Speaker 2: all pretty crotchety. Except for Betty White, because everybody.
- 52:09Speaker 10: Loves Betty White.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Everybody does.
- 52:10Speaker 2: So, yeah, as if that wasn't about, you know, kind
- 52:13Speaker 2: of hitting the nail on the head, the lovable human
- 52:15Speaker 2: that would, you know, now be the John Denver person
- 52:18Speaker 2: is Paul Rudd.
- 52:19Speaker 6: Who cares about Paul Rudd now?
- 52:22Speaker 2: Everybody does. He's in everything all of a sudden.
- 52:24Speaker 4: I don't care about Paul Rudd.
- 52:25Speaker 10: Who's Paul Rudd again?
- 52:26Speaker 2: He was cool, like, ten years ago, but... Or no,
- 52:30Speaker 2: more than that. No, he was clueless.
- 52:33Speaker 10: Yeah, his stepbrother in Clueless. Yeah.
- 52:35Speaker 2: I never saw Clueless. When he was in Clueless, he
- 52:38Speaker 2: was cool, but I can't believe it took him this long.
- 52:40Speaker 2: He's just now getting to the point where they're giving
- 52:43Speaker 2: him lead roles. I was like, that was a long
- 52:46Speaker 2: time ago. I was like, that's weird.
- 52:48Speaker 8: Anchorman.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Who is he in Anchorman?
- 52:51Speaker 7: He was a third. He wasn't Brock. He wasn't Frank.
- 52:54Speaker 5: He wasn't.
- 52:55Speaker 6: It's best to just let it go.
- 52:59Speaker 5: He's awesome. I like him.
- 53:01Speaker 3: I like him.
- 53:01Speaker 2: So, I don't know. I just think it's funny that
- 53:03Speaker 2: it took him that long. Yeah, I mean, to me,
- 53:06Speaker 2: he's definitely playing that same part over and over again.
- 53:08Speaker 2: He's always Mr. Nice Guy. So, I mean, I can
- 53:10Speaker 2: definitely see that working. This is one of those I don't.
- 53:15Speaker 2: look forward to it necessarily but at the same time
- 53:17Speaker 2: i think there is something new that they could do
- 53:19Speaker 2: with it it's been a long time there's definitely a
- 53:21Speaker 2: different way that they could take it especially if they
- 53:24Speaker 2: wanted to get kind of you know a little into
- 53:26Speaker 2: the heavier religious end of it which they probably won't
- 53:29Speaker 2: they'll make it a stupid comedy but i think there's
- 53:31Speaker 2: a lot bigger issues that they could you know make
- 53:34Speaker 2: a more interesting movie with that they'll probably won't is.
- 53:36Speaker 10: It a happy madison production.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Oh god i hope not It doesn't say, so I'm
- 53:42Speaker 2: sure they would have slapped that on there if he
- 53:43Speaker 2: had his name attached to it in any way, shape,
- 53:45Speaker 2: or form.
- 53:45Speaker 4: Probably.
- 53:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 17: All right.
- 53:48Speaker 2: So that will take us out of the buzz section
- 53:50Speaker 2: and into what I'm going to bill as the part
- 53:52Speaker 2: four in this trilogy of terror. So, yeah, I've forced
- 53:56Speaker 2: at least some of you poor bastards to watch, you know,
- 53:58Speaker 2: three of these movies. So the fourth one was such
- 54:02Speaker 2: a weird, strange little thing. I wasn't even going to
- 54:05Speaker 2: subject you to it. The fourth entry into this little...
- 54:11Speaker 2: Film Festival of Maria is a movie called Love Me
- 54:14Speaker 2: Like I Do.
- 54:16Speaker 4: 1970.
- 54:18Speaker 2: I think it was originally released in Sweden, if that
- 54:20Speaker 2: gives you a good idea of what kind of movie
- 54:21Speaker 2: we're talking about.
- 54:22Speaker 6: Hey, there are some good Swedish movies.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but in 1970.
- 54:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 2: In 1970 with a lot of naked people.
- 54:29Speaker 17: Yes.
- 54:30Speaker 6: There were some naked people in Cold Break.
- 54:31Speaker 2: That doesn't surprise me. Naked people in horror movies, yeah,
- 54:35Speaker 2: kind of go hand in hand.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Yeah, there was one called Made in Sweden. Is that
- 54:39Speaker 4: a Russ movie or anything?
- 54:40Speaker 2: I don't remember.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Nice.
- 54:43Speaker 2: So, yeah, the plot synopsis is, Sharon is a seemingly
- 54:47Speaker 2: content suburban wife with a nice husband, house, and family
- 54:50Speaker 2: until she discovers that her husband is cheating on her
- 54:53Speaker 2: with the neighborhood nympho. Yeah, you know you're in trouble when.
- 54:56Speaker 4: Sounds like an episode of Red Shoe Diaries.
- 54:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it kind of does. But you know you're in
- 55:00Speaker 2: trouble when one of the first lines that you get
- 55:03Speaker 2: in it is, please don't forget the pickles.
- 55:06Speaker 10: What the pickles?
- 55:08Speaker 2: You know you're in trouble. This is one of the
- 55:11Speaker 2: main lines they focus on right off the bat. And
- 55:13Speaker 2: even before the credits are over, Maria is shaking her
- 55:16Speaker 2: ass into the camera. And then, I believe not one,
- 55:19Speaker 2: but two guys grab her ass immediately. But did she
- 55:23Speaker 2: have a nice ass? Yeah, I'm not going to argue.
- 55:25Speaker 2: She looked good back in the day. And was freakishly
- 55:28Speaker 2: skinny back then.
- 55:29Speaker 10: She didn't have 70s ass? Because that's not hot.
- 55:30Speaker 2: No, no, she was normal. But yeah, but like 70s waist,
- 55:34Speaker 2: like she was like... fucking starving it's it's amazing how
- 55:37Speaker 2: skinny she is and then like the whole rest of
- 55:39Speaker 2: her is normal but like her waist is like freakishly skinny.
- 55:42Speaker 12: Disappears almost down to yeah it's kind of weird it's
- 55:45Speaker 12: like how do all those guts fit in pack me they've.
- 55:51Speaker 5: Migrated down to her cheeks yeah Slap her ass. She's like, oh,
- 55:54Speaker 5: it's my lungs.
- 55:55Speaker 10: It's my kidneys.
- 55:58Speaker 2: So yeah, last night I decided to take this upon
- 56:00Speaker 2: myself and watch it just to round out the show.
- 56:03Speaker 2: So we didn't have, you know, that's probably the only
- 56:05Speaker 2: other one I was sort of interested in watching.
- 56:08Speaker 6: I don't want to sit around and watch porn with
- 56:09Speaker 6: you guys.
- 56:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I figured. That was one of the
- 56:12Speaker 2: ones that would sort of detract. And it's not really porn.
- 56:14Speaker 5: It's like softcore.
- 56:15Speaker 2: It's definitely softcore. It's 70s softcore. Because, yeah, I noticed
- 56:20Speaker 2: early on you get... Well, right off the bat, you
- 56:23Speaker 2: get like... Within minutes, you've got one of the neighbor's
- 56:26Speaker 2: strips down in front of the entire neighborhood at this party. Nice.
- 56:30Speaker 2: And then, you know, gets naked and jumps in the
- 56:31Speaker 2: pool and... And you cut in and out with all
- 56:35Speaker 2: these other little lines going on. They're doing like this
- 56:37Speaker 2: little cut in with this old couple about all women
- 56:39Speaker 2: being exhibitionist and... They work in these other little... It's
- 56:43Speaker 2: almost like they're doing little clips from Laugh-In. It's like
- 56:47Speaker 2: they cut away to people and they're doing little... But
- 56:50Speaker 2: half of them aren't even jokes. They're not even funny.
- 56:52Speaker 2: They're making comments along the way. They're making comments about the.
- 56:56Speaker 12: So it's a commentary on their own movie while they're
- 56:59Speaker 12: making the movie?
- 56:59Speaker 6: Well, no.
- 56:59Speaker 2: It's on society. It's in between people dancing around and
- 57:03Speaker 2: the whole neighborhood of old people doing go-go dancing. They'll, like,
- 57:06Speaker 2: cut away to, like, a couple of people standing, and
- 57:08Speaker 2: they'll make, like, some sort of comment about, you know,
- 57:10Speaker 2: the way Republicans are. They'll make some sort of comment
- 57:12Speaker 2: about the economic state of the world. I'm just like,
- 57:16Speaker 2: what the hell is this? They sort of get away
- 57:19Speaker 2: from that as time goes on. But, yeah, it's very strange.
- 57:23Speaker 3: They're selling out!
- 57:25Speaker 11: You dogmatic, fanatic liberal. Now, you know very well us
- 57:29Speaker 11: conservatives have a terrible hang-up about sex. The kid tells
- 57:32Speaker 11: me he's got a chance to get rid of all that.
- 57:34Speaker 4: You mean you actually listened to what the kid had
- 57:36Speaker 4: to say?
- 57:37Speaker 11: A figure with a Ph.D. in basket weaving from his
- 57:40Speaker 11: black studies, he can join some hippie commune. And then
- 57:43Speaker 11: he can practice group sex now. Isn't that wonderful?
- 57:46Speaker 3: Group sex?
- 57:48Speaker 2: Gangbang?
- 57:49Speaker 6: Who needs it?
- 57:50Speaker 3: Three guys is.
- 57:51Speaker 6: Enough for me.
- 57:52Speaker 2: But, yeah, it quickly... I don't know. Back to the naked. Yeah,
- 57:56Speaker 2: there's lots of T & A, but the women in
- 57:59Speaker 2: question usually conveniently cover the downstairs business.
- 58:02Speaker 6: Okay.
- 58:03Speaker 2: So you can tell I think they were shooting for
- 58:05Speaker 2: an R, or at least keep it in most theaters,
- 58:08Speaker 2: because I think if you cross that line... yeah yeah
- 58:11Speaker 2: you get bumped to uh nothing but like porn theaters
- 58:14Speaker 2: so that probably and you know if if you're looking
- 58:16Speaker 2: for man goods you're in trouble you get a little
- 58:18Speaker 2: ass but you know all you get is tna in
- 58:21Speaker 2: this movie there's plenty of that but swinging junk yeah
- 58:24Speaker 2: if you're looking for that you're in trouble watchman in
- 58:27Speaker 2: there no there's no watchman action in.
- 58:29Speaker 4: This one no bubble and squeak Just a heads up if.
- 58:31Speaker 2: That's, you know, what you're looking for.
- 58:32Speaker 5: No bangers and mash.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Or looking to avoid it either way.
- 58:37Speaker 4: No cash and prizes. No cash and prizes.
- 58:39Speaker 2: So, yeah, it quickly moves into some drunk driving that
- 58:43Speaker 2: almost immediately moves into a police chase.
- 58:46Speaker 4: Almost.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it, like, lines up the tasteless areas
- 58:51Speaker 2: of entry here. Let's see. They throw in tons of.
- 58:55Speaker 10: Entry.
- 58:55Speaker 3: Entry.
- 58:57Speaker 2: There's a lot of that, too. It was funny when
- 58:59Speaker 2: I think back about asking her about this movie and
- 59:02Speaker 2: realizing what's going on in it. Because I hadn't seen
- 59:04Speaker 2: it at the time. Because, yeah, she's just big close-up
- 59:06Speaker 2: shots of her ass as she's naked gyrating on top
- 59:09Speaker 2: of this guy.
- 59:09Speaker 11: And I'm like.
- 59:10Speaker 2: huh, she didn't mention this in the movie.
- 59:12Speaker 4: I wondered why she got so uncomfortable when I mentioned this.
- 59:16Speaker 7: She didn't seem to, though, which is good.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Yeah, she just kind of was like, oh, wow, okay,
- 59:20Speaker 2: if you want to talk about that.
- 59:21Speaker 6: So, yeah, I was kind of surprised.
- 59:23Speaker 2: She was a good sport about it. She played along
- 59:24Speaker 2: with me asking about her semi-porn.
- 59:26Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 59:26Speaker 3: But.
- 59:28Speaker 2: But yeah, I think it was one of those, they
- 59:29Speaker 2: were just getting to that point of being able to
- 59:30Speaker 2: talk about all this stuff going on, sort of.
- 59:34Speaker 6: That's semi-porn. I picture two semis.
- 59:36Speaker 10: Like two 18-wheelers.
- 59:39Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 59:41Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 59:45Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 59:47Speaker 6: Wow.
- 59:47Speaker 4: Two trucks doing it.
- 59:48Speaker 10: The thing is, they're Transformers.
- 59:51Speaker 5: They start popping out.
- 59:53Speaker 10: When's that one coming out? Transformer porn. Transponers.
- 59:58Speaker 3: Oh, God. Oh, God.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: What's that knock-off company that keeps putting them out?
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: Transmorphers?
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Yeah, what's that company, though?
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: Oh, I don't know.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever that knock-off company is, they need to get
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: on them.
- 1:00:12Speaker 10: Lionsgate, listen up.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Oh, Lord. Oh, I mean.
- 1:00:14Speaker 10: How did it get there?
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: Semi-porn. So yeah, this semi-porn. They were just getting to
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: the point of being able to sort of mention some
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: of this stuff. So they're throwing in all these buzzwords
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: at the moment. It's like every couple of scenes they
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: have to throw in terms like nymphomaniac or they have
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: to discuss one of the housewives being frigid. So it's
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: like they're working in all these terms that it was
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: just sort of coming to the point where you could
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: almost mention them in polite society or the polite society
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: of a darkened theater at midnight somewhere where people were
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: getting it on. So, yeah, I don't know. You get
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: people saying, like, again, they're trying to make these statements.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: You've got a woman that delivers the line, I don't
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: believe in adultery, to which the guy casually throws off,
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: why not? I was like, alright, I guess if that's
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: going to be your attitude, we don't really have anything
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: else to talk about, do we? Why not? Speaking of which,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: this is the same character who, minutes later, rapes some woman.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: And then, casually, mind you, and on... To make it
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: even more insulting.
- 1:01:21Speaker 10: Casual rape?
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: He didn't have a problem with it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 19: Are you one of those rodents that think anything goes,
- 1:01:26Speaker 19: provided you don't get caught?
- 1:01:28Speaker 10: Oh, I don't mind getting caught once in a while.
- 1:01:31Speaker 19: You're a prized specimen of unmitigated gall.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: You better get your little gun.
- 1:01:38Speaker 10: While you still have the chance.
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: You wouldn't dare.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Oh, yes, I would.
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: And told her ahead of time, if that's what it takes,
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: that's what I'll do.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: And, yeah, then follows it up with the whole scene
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: almost becomes a joke afterwards. Like, she was sort of
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: okay with it after the fact. And I'm like, that's
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: even more insulting. I was like, what the fuck is
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: going on in this movie? So... Yeah, then it enters
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: into a big section of... And midway through, I'm like, well,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: that's the thing. I look up at some point, and
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, well, whatever. Is this almost over?
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: It was at the halfway point.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: I was like, oh, shit.
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm glad you did this to yourself.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Yeah, see, that's... You guys... Yeah, you're welcome. Because, yeah.
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: I feel like I needed to watch it. I'm glad
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: I have seen it, but... Even once you get, I mean,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: there's sort of the fun of the cheesiness of the
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: 70s and the outfits and the interior of their houses
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: and all that. But you get to the midway point
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: and it just becomes, you know, all the fun of
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: couples fighting.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Yay.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: It really is.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: It's just like a real relationship fights over and over again.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: I'm like, is this what I want to be watching?
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Get back to some go-go dancing or something.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: You're mixed up. What you're referring to is that warm glow, Latsa.
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: Money is playing with things.
- 1:03:24Speaker 19: Sex is playing with your body.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: Somebody else's. All games are boring in the end.
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: Oh, love is not a game.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: Hell no.
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: And money isn't a game to me either.
- 1:03:47Speaker 11: I'm ripping my guts out year after year and losing
- 1:03:49Speaker 11: more money every double shift I put in.
- 1:03:51Speaker 19: Your pride is hurt. So you torture me for some
- 1:03:58Speaker 19: obscure reason. Maybe you do it to punish yourself for all.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: Oh, spare me the head-shrinking bit. I'm not that sick.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Rape and arguing is not fun. Stop showing it to me.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: so i like this yeah and then it ups the
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: ante and you get all the fun of spouse abuse
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: yay so yeah it just it lines up all the
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: tasteless activities in this movie this movie an a plus
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: yeah yeah it's um yeah so freakishly weirdness it it
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: does it has all this weird like it at one
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: point towards the end the guy compares a marriage to
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: an old pickup truck and you know how it quits
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: working for you sometimes so yeah it i don't know
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: what it wants to do with this movie it's like
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: it wants to be semi-porn but then it also wants
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: to have some sort of message but then it also
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: just wants to push the envelope of how much it
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: can throw at you it's it's a 70s movie it's
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: one of those you know grindhouse kind of movies and
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: it definitely just plays all the notes it needs to
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: to sort of get people's attention basically so Yeah, and
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: tons of sex scenes, by the way. So at one
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: point I was like, this is just sex with the soundtrack. Like,
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: it would just cut from one scene of people doing
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: it to another, and you would have, don't get me wrong,
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: some awesome music going on, by the way. Total full-on
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: porn soundtrack. So, yeah. Oh, and Misty, it had your
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: tacky mirrors. The mirrors that you know... They were doing it.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: We talked about it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 6: I'm going to get me some of those mirrors and
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: totally do my whole bathroom.
- 1:05:33Speaker 10: Mirrors with like the cracks in them?
- 1:05:34Speaker 8: The gold.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: The gold flecks. If you were in a house in
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: the 70s, it probably had these in it.
- 1:05:39Speaker 10: My grandmother's house still does.
- 1:05:41Speaker 8: Yep, see?
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Sneak them out for me. It had those, and they
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: were doing it in front of them, so it kind
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: of ruins it for you. but some of those movies.
- 1:05:50Speaker 13: Always remind me of doing coke not that i've done
- 1:05:52Speaker 13: and or do.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: But if you're going to it's going to be off
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: of those yeah yeah.
- 1:05:57Speaker 13: I think it's because of uh forrest gump like forrest
- 1:06:01Speaker 13: gump with jenny did he do.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: Oh no jenny did she.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: Was like doing it she's like i'm gonna jump off
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: this building i'm blocked out that whole damn movie i
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: love forrest gump you don't like forrest gump no.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: You're stupid yeah So, yeah, notably the stars of this
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: were not just Maria, but the doctor from Blood Mania,
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: your favorite movie from two weeks ago. Yeah, he's like
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: one of the main husbands in it, too. So, yeah,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: we get a nice little reunion there. Actually, this was
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: made before. He's the one that by the end of
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: it has hooked up with everybody, much like Blood Mania.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: They're standing in a room, there's three women there talking,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: and they're talking about doing it with him. He's hiding
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: outside listening, by the way, but I realize as they
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: walk in, he's done it with everybody in that room
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: Well, that was in his contract.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: I guess, but then they all start.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Comparing and i was just like did i take notes
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: this yeah i was like this this this is a
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: weird scene and everybody in this movie's a slot so
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: yeah i don't know the the other notable star which
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: i if you're into the uh she wolf movies uh
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: i think it's diane thorn of the ilsa fame she's
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: actually this was i guess pre-ilsa but yeah the she
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: wolf of the ss yeah uh and she plays the
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: the doormat housewife the one that just sort of gets
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: strung along the whole time and He's screwing around on her,
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: and she still, like, wants to stay married and wants to,
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: you know, stay together for the kids. So, yeah, this
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: is a very weird movie, and if you want to
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: watch it for the experience of the 70s... I'm gonna pass. Yeah,
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: the weird combination of what they're trying to do. But, yeah, it's...
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: It really ends with a silly attempt at a happy ending.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: That's what really is kind of the, I mean, in
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: a movie full of people who are completely dysfunctional. Happy ending. So, yeah,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: in a movie filled with people that are completely dysfunctional
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: and screw each other over the entire movie, it tries to,
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: you know, wrap it all up with a happy ending
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: of many sorts. So, yeah, I don't understand. It's a
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: very strange idea, so... Yeah, there you go. There's the
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: fourth entry in the Trilogy of Terror.
