- 4:37Speaker 3: you can control.
- 4:38Speaker 2: That's your effort.

- 4:46Speaker 3: be the hardest worker in the room. Watch what happens,
- 4:50Speaker 3: and that's your morning mindset for this Tuesday. Got something
- 4:53Speaker 3: that's inspired, you share it with us. Perhaps maybe it
- 4:56Speaker 3: will inspire us all in this space tomorrow when you
- 4:59Speaker 3: get up. Toby and Chilly in the morning. Here at
- 5:01Speaker 3: ninety seven point one was Chef m We're coming up next.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I had a very tearful moment in public while going
- 5:10Speaker 4: to the middle school open house for my song last week.
- 5:13Speaker 2: You got weepy?
- 5:14Speaker 4: I actually did, But there was a very specific thing
- 5:17Speaker 4: that happened that triggered the tears, and I'll tell you
- 5:20Speaker 4: more about that coming up in just a few minutes.
- 5:22Speaker 4: On ninety seven point one, wash Ff and then Chili wept.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Ninety seven point one was Chef m Orre Toby and
- 5:28Speaker 3: Chilly in the morning. So do tell why did you
- 5:31Speaker 3: break down in public and start getting very weepy and
- 5:34Speaker 3: misty eyed and such?
- 5:35Speaker 4: It happened during our open house for my son's middle school.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Toby I found myself not being able to picture him
- 5:43Speaker 4: in that environment, and it crushed me.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Why right a passage, he's growing up. He's no longer
- 5:50Speaker 3: in elementary school.
- 5:52Speaker 4: I know the same thing happened when he was starting kindergarten,
- 5:55Speaker 4: and I was just overwhelmed trying to picture this little
- 5:58Speaker 4: boy in this big school. How is he going to
- 6:01Speaker 4: navigate it all? And I honestly didn't think I would
- 6:04Speaker 4: cry again until his high school graduation, because that's like, oh,
- 6:07Speaker 4: he's kind of you know, flying the coop or leaving
- 6:09Speaker 4: and going on to bigger and better things. So I
- 6:11Speaker 4: was kind of caught off guard. We were in the
- 6:14Speaker 4: library during the open house and I was in the
- 6:17Speaker 4: corner getting some information about some class loads, and he
- 6:21Speaker 4: went off and just started mingling with kids that he's
- 6:24Speaker 4: never met before. And there's something about my son trying
- 6:28Speaker 4: to make friends. It's a little challenging for him, and
- 6:33Speaker 4: seeing him try to navigate that, you know, trying to
- 6:36Speaker 4: make small talk with these kids and how they're reacting
- 6:40Speaker 4: to him or not reacting to him, it was just
- 6:43Speaker 4: something that it got me very emotional because all I
- 6:45Speaker 4: kept thinking was, oh God, I hope middle school doesn't
- 6:48Speaker 4: eat him alive, like, I really hope he can do this.
- 6:51Speaker 3: Middle School can be a lot of things to a
- 6:53Speaker 3: lot of kids. I mean, it's where things start to evolve.
- 6:56Speaker 3: But you know what, at least he was proactive trying.
- 7:00Speaker 4: He was definitely trying.
- 7:01Speaker 3: He was getting out in front of it, which is
- 7:04Speaker 3: a good thing, which is a sign of growth.
- 7:06Speaker 2: He took it upon himself to go forth.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And say I will attempt to make you my friend,
- 7:13Speaker 3: and if you don't want to be my friend.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well that's fine, I'll find another one.
- 7:17Speaker 4: I hope that's his attitude. That's fine, I'll find another one.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Part hasn't come around yet, and that is what I
- 7:24Speaker 4: hope will happen.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Give it time.
- 7:26Speaker 3: It's got all summer and the rest of this year
- 7:28Speaker 3: to figure it out, and then he'll hit the ground
- 7:30Speaker 3: running in middle school.
- 7:31Speaker 4: We're gonna have to make a little friendship boot camp
- 7:33Speaker 4: for him.
- 7:34Speaker 3: In the meantime, I'm gonna go and order some Kleenex
- 7:37Speaker 3: on Amazon because I have a feeling we might need
- 7:40Speaker 3: it for you, just in case.

- 11:20Speaker 3: of Things and Chili. Why don't you share with us
- 11:22Speaker 3: this interesting number?
- 11:23Speaker 4: Platonic Valentine's cards to friends or family have gone up
- 11:27Speaker 4: thirty percent in just a year, so friends are now
- 11:30Speaker 4: getting nearly one in five cards. There wasn't so much
- 11:34Speaker 4: of a thing when I was single. The whole Gallentin's
- 11:37Speaker 4: thing was fairly new. But now it's a huge thing,
- 11:40Speaker 4: and as a matter of fact, gen Z and young
- 11:41Speaker 4: women are leading the shift towards partner free celebration.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Ah, partner free celebrations, Chillie, When you were single, what
- 11:49Speaker 3: did you enjoy most about beings?
- 11:52Speaker 4: I actually loved having that time with just friends. Now
- 11:56Speaker 4: I don't have that as much. It's hard to designate
- 11:59Speaker 4: or carve out time for just the friendship component.
- 12:01Speaker 3: What about you? When I was single, I enjoyed being
- 12:04Speaker 3: partner free. It was like Pinocchio. I've got no strings
- 12:08Speaker 3: to hold me down and I could hook up with
- 12:10Speaker 3: anything that I happened.
- 12:11Speaker 2: To be around.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Oh anything, Okay.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean look, I mean, I'm not saying I'm
- 12:15Speaker 3: proud of it, but it was something that I did
- 12:17Speaker 3: as a single person, and I did not wake up
- 12:19Speaker 3: the next morning with any regrets.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 12:22Speaker 6: Oh?
- 12:22Speaker 4: Yes, I understand.
- 12:23Speaker 3: What about you? Eight six six ninety seven forty three
- 12:26Speaker 3: sixty one. You're listening to us. You might be single,
- 12:28Speaker 3: maybe you're not, but you're longing for the days when
- 12:31Speaker 3: you were single. What was it about being single that
- 12:35Speaker 3: was just so amazing to you? Your favorite thing about
- 12:38Speaker 3: being single? Caitlin, you're currently single in Fairfax? What is
- 12:42Speaker 3: your favorite thing about being single?
- 12:43Speaker 5: Definitely my autonomy.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I don't like having to answer or check in with anyone,
- 12:49Speaker 4: kind of just doing whatever I want.
- 12:50Speaker 2: That's valid.
- 12:51Speaker 4: So where are you going to be going for Valentine's Day?
- 12:53Speaker 5: Wherever the wind takes me?
- 12:55Speaker 3: Well played, Caitlin, Well played. Now what's your favorite thing
- 12:58Speaker 3: about being single? Eight six, seven forty three sixty one
- 13:02Speaker 3: is the number?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Give us a call, tell us we'll talk again in minutes.

- 13:16Speaker 3: I know Valentine's Day is this weekend. Yes, we figured
- 13:19Speaker 3: we would celebrate those who are single and ready to
- 13:22Speaker 3: mingle as it were now. Earlier we were talking about
- 13:25Speaker 3: this number.
- 13:26Speaker 4: You found that one in five people actually receive a
- 13:29Speaker 4: Valentine's card for friendship. It's becoming more and more popular
- 13:33Speaker 4: that it's a platonic holiday as well.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Right on eight sixty six nine two seven forty three
- 13:37Speaker 3: sixty one is the number talkbacks wide open if you're
- 13:39Speaker 3: signed in listening on your iHeart app Lauren and Capitol
- 13:43Speaker 3: Hill on Capitol Hill, would it be in or on?
- 13:46Speaker 2: Anyway? Your single thought?
- 13:48Speaker 4: The best part about being single is I don't have
- 13:50Speaker 4: to find body hair anywhere in my home.
- 13:52Speaker 6: It's really nice not having to deal with that.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Lauren, Thanks, I think Chili, What does she mean by
- 13:57Speaker 3: hair everywhere?
- 13:58Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure she's talking about the clippings when you
- 14:01Speaker 4: shave in the sink and if you don't rinse afterwards,
- 14:05Speaker 4: that could be a little gross.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to clean that up.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Not every guy leaves it that way, but some do.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, Brianna listening to us right now in Gaithersburg.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Hello there, your single best part about it?
- 14:17Speaker 6: I love being able to do what I want without
- 14:21Speaker 6: having to tell anybody where I'm going what I'm doing,
- 14:24Speaker 6: and being free to make plans as I see fit
- 14:27Speaker 6: without having to coordinate schedules.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Brianna, thank you. Is is that a thing? Coordinating schedules?
- 14:34Speaker 4: You mean freedom in general? Yes, it's definitely a thing
- 14:37Speaker 4: when you're single.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Freedom, Yes, freedom. Why do you like being single? What's
- 14:44Speaker 3: your favorite part about it? Give us call it eight
