- 0:42Speaker 1: Legs and gentlemen, may I have your attention please? The
- 0:51Speaker 1: show starts in five line eight seven six go shooting money.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Well, good evening, How is everyone doing? This is Shenett.
- 1:28Speaker 2: I haven't been on here for a while, and as
- 1:33Speaker 2: you can see, I just woke up as my work schedule.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I just wanted to check in with you guys. A
- 1:45Speaker 2: lot of it's been going on. I've been dealing with
- 1:52Speaker 2: a lot and doing a lot of thinking about everything
- 2:06Speaker 2: since the last time I came on. We know that
- 2:14Speaker 2: I believe it was in August. My co host has
- 2:24Speaker 2: have came home, so he's going through some change. He's
- 2:29Speaker 2: going dealing with some things with the parole board. So
- 2:38Speaker 2: hopefully in two weeks everything will be back to norm
- 2:45Speaker 2: But as far as myself, I just want to be
- 3:00Speaker 2: real with real with everyone. I have been dealing with
- 3:05Speaker 2: some some things where I want to just kind of
- 3:10Speaker 2: step away from it because it's beginning to get too
- 3:17Speaker 2: too much for me. With everything that's going on with
- 3:22Speaker 2: the current administration that's in there, with everything that's going
- 3:27Speaker 2: on with the young man in Texas, all of this
- 3:38Speaker 2: is beginning beginning to be just a little too much.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I was thinking about this the other day. Do I
- 3:51Speaker 2: want to keep going or do I just want to
- 3:55Speaker 2: give up? Do I just want to walk away from it?
- 3:59Speaker 2: And I had one of the man's reach out to
- 4:04Speaker 2: me that shinning and I was talking to him and
- 4:12Speaker 2: he asked me just to keep going because they have
- 4:18Speaker 2: got We had given them a lot of hope, a
- 4:22Speaker 2: lot of them wants to continuously get their stories out.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So now I'm trying to work out a schedule for myself.
- 4:32Speaker 2: You know, hopefully I can change my shifts because I
- 4:37Speaker 2: work at night. I work graveyard from eleven to nine
- 4:41Speaker 2: in the morning, and I got off this morning at
- 4:45Speaker 2: nine o'clock. I get home like at ten o'clock wind down,
- 4:52Speaker 2: and then I've been oversleeping. So this the reason why
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'm late is because I just remember I just woke up.
- 5:03Speaker 2: And that's that's becoming a problem, the whole grief thing
- 5:11Speaker 2: that people probably think that I'm all day. I'm still
- 5:15Speaker 2: stuck in grief. It comes and it goes. It's in ways,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but it's not as bad when I first started, so
- 5:24Speaker 2: I'm getting through that. Also, I want to send my
- 5:29Speaker 2: condolen since two Black Diamond in her family, letting her
- 5:37Speaker 2: know that since I know your pain. You know, I
- 5:42Speaker 2: know how you feeling and that you and your famili's
- 5:48Speaker 2: and my thoughts and prayers. I want to apologize to
- 5:57Speaker 2: my other sisters, Trevita for Trees Mission, just all the
- 6:08Speaker 2: other ladies that's on here. It's it just feels like
- 6:13Speaker 2: I'm dropping the ball. But I have a lot going on,
- 6:19Speaker 2: a lot Angela. I want to apologize to her. You
- 6:35Speaker 2: guys don't know everything that I'm dealing with, and in
- 6:40Speaker 2: due time I will reveal it to you guys. But
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's not it's not with about the grief. Like I said,
- 6:50Speaker 2: it comes and it goes on ways, and right now
- 6:59Speaker 2: it's not that I want to apologize to the viewers,
- 7:04Speaker 2: the ones that do tap in and listen to let's
- 7:09Speaker 2: talk about it, you know, for not being there and
- 7:19Speaker 2: to come on. I'm getting myself. I'm just like I said,
- 7:27Speaker 2: I'm just getting myself back, trying to catch my footing
- 7:31Speaker 2: with getting back to work. I'm working two jobs now,
- 7:38Speaker 2: going to school, and it's just a lot. Still fighting
- 7:47Speaker 2: for my husband Phil, still being a voice for him,
- 7:54Speaker 2: and like I said, it's just getting overwhelmed. Currently in Denver,
- 7:59Speaker 2: we had they had a situation where a officer shot
- 8:08Speaker 2: and killed an African American over there. And it's just
- 8:18Speaker 2: like every person that I reached out to pertaining to
- 8:25Speaker 2: the men's in Denver, they you know, they didn't, they
- 8:31Speaker 2: didn't reach back. But as soon as someone get killed
- 8:40Speaker 2: by an officer over there, everybody is now. They all
- 8:47Speaker 2: want to stand up for injustice, they want to speak out.
- 8:52Speaker 2: But why does it take for someone to lose their
- 9:01Speaker 2: lives for you guys to to speak out about the
- 9:05Speaker 2: injustice that's going on. That's becoming a big pet pee
- 9:14Speaker 2: of minds that these lawyers that's, oh no, we don't
- 9:22Speaker 2: get involved. But next thing, next thing we see is
- 9:27Speaker 2: your face standing in somebody's church talking about what what
- 9:38Speaker 2: what the next move? This is what needs to be done.
- 9:42Speaker 2: And I say to this, this is this is Schanette.
- 9:47Speaker 2: This doesn't have anything to do with the Crew podcast.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I say that you guys are a bunch of hypocrites,
- 10:01Speaker 2: because if you're gonna stand for justice, you're gonna stand
- 10:05Speaker 2: for everything across the board, not just when someone lose
- 10:11Speaker 2: their life. You gonna stand for all of it. You
- 10:16Speaker 2: not gonna just come and pick, try to pick and choose.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Oh I'm gonna go stand with this this family and
- 10:26Speaker 2: you wanna and that to me make it seem like
- 10:30Speaker 2: you're just out for the money. Anything that has a
- 10:35Speaker 2: dollar sign on it, that's what you're chasing. Instead of
- 10:44Speaker 2: looking at the facts all across the board, let's look
- 10:48Speaker 2: at the whole injustice system. You got men and women
- 10:56Speaker 2: that's in prison wrongfully, that's fighting for their lives to
- 11:02Speaker 2: get out. You got next month, you have the father
- 11:10Speaker 2: that's getting ready to be put to death for a
- 11:14Speaker 2: shaking baby syndrome. When the corner's office already said the
- 11:19Speaker 2: baby was sick, that ain't it didn't have he didn't
- 11:23Speaker 2: shake the baby. This is the third time they bring
- 11:28Speaker 2: this man up for execution. Last year was put on halt,
- 11:37Speaker 2: but now come October they're gonna execute him. An innocent man. Innocent.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Then we have a young man I really don't I
- 12:03Speaker 2: was following his case, but I had to stop because
- 12:08Speaker 2: it was making me sick because the hate that I
- 12:12Speaker 2: was seeing from all backgrounds, from everybody, the hate, it
- 12:27Speaker 2: was making me sick. And these are people I don't
- 12:35Speaker 2: know if they really understand they they talk about one
- 12:41Speaker 2: minute they talking about the love of God, then the
- 12:43Speaker 2: next minute they talking they spilling hate towards one another,
- 12:56Speaker 2: and I didn't know how to deal with that. My
- 13:01Speaker 2: heart goes out to the Anthony's family, Carmelo Anthony, the
- 13:07Speaker 2: things that they're dealing with old. He's fighting for his life.
- 13:17Speaker 2: He was placed in that position. He stunned his he
- 13:22Speaker 2: stood his grounds. But you have a lot of people
- 13:27Speaker 2: that believe that he didn't stand that it was too much,
- 13:32Speaker 2: that he shouldn't have did that. What do you think
- 13:42Speaker 2: if your child was in that position, would you want
- 13:48Speaker 2: your child would to lose his life? Cause it's a
- 13:54Speaker 2: it's a lot of things that's coming out. I know
- 14:02Speaker 2: for a fact if it was my child, he would
- 14:09Speaker 2: have protected hisself in can't nobody tell me when you
- 14:15Speaker 2: have a group of people standing around you that you
- 14:20Speaker 2: wouldn't protect yourself In another case that coming out of Texas,
- 14:32Speaker 2: they didn't broadcast this one where you had a I
- 14:42Speaker 2: guess the new word now is yt person on a lie.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Hispanic young boy, he poked him. That's another new word
- 15:01Speaker 2: they're using in the bathroom at school. His case can
- 15:10Speaker 2: get a lot of publicity, a lot of hate like
- 15:13Speaker 2: the Carmelo Anthony case is getting. Why is that it's
- 15:24Speaker 2: the hate it's the hate. Every time you see a
- 15:36Speaker 2: black male, any one of their cases come up. If
- 15:42Speaker 2: they don't have the money, we already know that theyre
- 15:49Speaker 2: going to present even if they do have the money.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It's all about who's sitting on that jury. It's all
- 16:01Speaker 2: about who's representing them. It's like the black man and woman,
- 16:28Speaker 2: we gotta we gotta, we gotta target on our backs,
- 16:34Speaker 2: all because of our color, all because God decided to
- 16:43Speaker 2: give us a color. I'm not no theologia. I'm just
- 16:51Speaker 2: a regular person. But I tell you one thing. I
- 16:54Speaker 2: know what my Bible says. We're all made in His image.
- 17:01Speaker 2: And if we were all made in His image, doesn't
- 17:06Speaker 2: that mean that the African American man, that the black man,
- 17:12Speaker 2: is the image of God. I would think so, because
- 17:25Speaker 2: that's what he said. We're all made in his image.
- 17:31Speaker 2: It's not one. We're not beneath n no other ethnic group.
- 17:36Speaker 2: But that's how they looked out at us. Can't nobody
- 17:41Speaker 2: say they don't. I deal with that on a daily basis,
- 17:48Speaker 2: daily basis, and I know we all do. I thought
- 18:00Speaker 2: I had my notes, but I can't find my notes,
- 18:03Speaker 2: So just bear with me. I'm gonna just hold you
- 18:06Speaker 2: guys for a few more minutes, and then I just
- 18:09Speaker 2: want to say this. I work for a company. I'm
- 18:17Speaker 2: not gonna say their names, and I had a meeting,
- 18:28Speaker 2: a one on one. Every month we have a one
- 18:31Speaker 2: on one, and I have some concerns, say asked, and
- 18:39Speaker 2: so Shinet, what is your concerns? Awre you like it?
- 18:44Speaker 2: Cause I only been with the company for five months,
- 18:49Speaker 2: and so you know, I was just like you guys,
- 18:52Speaker 2: got us saying this, quoting this thing because the state
- 19:00Speaker 2: and the mission statement, but nobody lives up to it.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I don't think that the company lives up to what
- 19:11Speaker 2: the mission statement is. And they said, well, why why
- 19:16Speaker 2: do you say that, Schnet, Because when I pick up
- 19:22Speaker 2: the team members and I'm moving to team members and stuff,
- 19:28Speaker 2: you guys tell us the greeters as as the bus operators.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You tell us the greet everybody that step their foot
- 19:37Speaker 2: on their Well guess what. I had a whole team supervisors, managers,
- 19:52Speaker 2: what get on a get on here with me, a
- 19:57Speaker 2: different ethnic groups. I was the only the only black
- 20:05Speaker 2: because I was the driver and I'm greeting them. Did
- 20:11Speaker 2: not one of them say anything to me. They just
- 20:15Speaker 2: looked at me like yeah, whatever, But they got on
- 20:19Speaker 2: there and or they came on and they act like
- 20:22Speaker 2: that they hear me, and she told me they don't
- 20:36Speaker 2: have to say nothing to you, and it kind of
- 20:43Speaker 2: threw me back, and I'm like, wow, so you want
- 20:48Speaker 2: me to greet them, but you don't want them to
- 20:51Speaker 2: say they can't they don't have to say anything to me. Well,
- 20:54Speaker 2: when I was coming up, what my mother told us,
- 20:59Speaker 2: what my grandparents parents told us, was when someone speaks
- 21:04Speaker 2: to you, you speak back to him because you don't
- 21:09Speaker 2: know what that person is dealing with. It's not hard
- 21:15Speaker 2: to say good morning, good afternoon, or good night, or
- 21:19Speaker 2: how you doing. It's not hard to say the words. Then,
- 21:29Speaker 2: my little grandson, five years old, his first year in kindergarten.
- 21:38Speaker 2: This year, little Trician, I guess little Trician up there
- 21:46Speaker 2: showing out because his mama got called home, got called
- 21:51Speaker 2: to the school because I guess he's not supposed to.
- 22:00Speaker 2: They turn in a blind eye when other little people.
- 22:10Speaker 2: He's the only person of color in his class, hitty,
- 22:18Speaker 2: so when he hits back, it's a problem. It's a problem.
- 22:35Speaker 2: They She was also told because she said Tristan was
- 22:41Speaker 2: telling her that Mommy, they don't want to share. So
- 22:46Speaker 2: she brung that up and in that meeting they told
- 22:58Speaker 2: her they don't have to share if they don't want
- 23:04Speaker 2: to share the ball and it's not their ball, it's
- 23:08Speaker 2: the school ball. They don't want to share the ball
- 23:12Speaker 2: that they're playing with, they don't have to share. But
- 23:17Speaker 2: when Tristan has things, when he's playing with things, they
- 23:24Speaker 2: try to make him share. What kind of sense does
- 23:32Speaker 2: that make. When we was coming up, we share. We
- 23:40Speaker 2: was taught to share. It was books out there on
- 23:43Speaker 2: how to share. But now in school you don't have
- 23:49Speaker 2: to share. These are five years old, these are kindergarten,
- 23:58Speaker 2: so you are ready instilling the hate in them. You started,
- 24:05Speaker 2: You start now, and then when they get up an
- 24:09Speaker 2: age like what I'm experiencing at where I work at,
- 24:14Speaker 2: that's the outcome. What Carmelo Anthony family is experiencing, that's
- 24:20Speaker 2: the outcome. All because of color of the skin of
- 24:26Speaker 2: our skin. And mind you, God said we all made
- 24:31Speaker 2: in his image. I hate the husband always tell me, babe,
- 24:49Speaker 2: don't don't get don't get your blood pressure up, and
- 24:54Speaker 2: I try not to, but sometimes we got to take
- 25:03Speaker 2: a stand for something. We have to take a stand.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I'm not telling you what to do with what to do,
- 25:18Speaker 2: I ain't telling you. You ain't got to speak to me.
- 25:21Speaker 2: That's the way I feel now since that that was
- 25:25Speaker 2: told to me. So I even told her then if
- 25:30Speaker 2: they ain't got to speak to me, well, I'm not
- 25:32Speaker 2: saying anything. Well, you been watched because our supervisor want
- 25:39Speaker 2: to make sure that we living up to the statement
- 25:48Speaker 2: that's double standard. And we see that. We see it
- 25:54Speaker 2: in the the justice system, we seeing in the school system,
- 26:00Speaker 2: We're seeing it in the workplace. We've probably been saying
- 26:04Speaker 2: maybe I just ain't been paying paying too much attention
- 26:07Speaker 2: to it, But lately I've just been paying attention to it.
- 26:19Speaker 2: And all of this is just coming and it's just
- 26:22Speaker 2: wearing on me, and it's and I know a lot
- 26:24Speaker 2: of people saying, oh, you should just let it just
- 26:29Speaker 2: fall off of you. How can we How can I
- 26:34Speaker 2: walk through walk and let all of this stuff just
- 26:40Speaker 2: roll off of me? Like I like I don't have
- 26:43Speaker 2: a car and spirit. Maybe I am too compassion. I
- 26:47Speaker 2: don't know why God created made me this way where
- 26:51Speaker 2: I have a lot of compassion, Why I feel a
- 26:53Speaker 2: certain way, why I feel that we shouldn't teach our
- 26:57Speaker 2: kids to hate one another. That if someone is playing
- 27:05Speaker 2: with a ball, don't take the ball from somewhere. That's
- 27:09Speaker 2: that's same thing in Carmelo Anthony case. Well, he was
- 27:13Speaker 2: just sitting there up under a tent from the rain.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And here I have my little grandson five years old,
- 27:21Speaker 2: get hit. He can't, he can't find hisself somebody. He's
- 27:27Speaker 2: playing with somebody, somebody can take it. But if they
- 27:30Speaker 2: playing with something, they don't have to share it. That's
- 27:34Speaker 2: double standard. And it's really getting starting to tee me off,
- 27:51Speaker 2: it really is. So that's another that's the reason, another
- 27:56Speaker 2: reason why I just like to forget it, because I
- 27:59Speaker 2: see the double standards, the double standards everybody. Oh, we
- 28:12Speaker 2: all need to stick together, that's true, and we are.
- 28:16Speaker 2: We're gonna fight, Are we gonna if we're want to
- 28:21Speaker 2: fight for against the current administration? Everybody speaking out the
- 28:28Speaker 2: side of their neck. Don't nobody want to stand with us?
- 28:36Speaker 2: The first people of color. Only time they want to
- 28:40Speaker 2: stand with us is when it benefits them. We have
- 28:48Speaker 2: some people that stands with the black community, but then
- 28:57Speaker 2: we have some people that only want to use us.
- 29:03Speaker 2: And a lot of the African American black community, it's
- 29:09Speaker 2: tired of it. It's tired. That hate is real. I
- 29:26Speaker 2: didn't you know when we was coming up in the
- 29:31Speaker 2: seventies and now when our generation was coming up, my
- 29:35Speaker 2: generation was coming up, Maybe we didn't see it as
- 29:40Speaker 2: much as our well, we didn't see it as much
- 29:43Speaker 2: as our parents and our grandparents. We didn't see it.
- 29:50Speaker 2: But boy, I'm seeing it now. My eyes is wide open.
- 29:58Speaker 2: The justice system doesn't work for the black man. The
- 30:03Speaker 2: school system. I'm sending it with with with my with
- 30:08Speaker 2: my grandson. Everything is double standards everything, and we as
- 30:17Speaker 2: a community. They probably say, oh, she's she's talking racist,
- 30:25Speaker 2: she's a race. No, I'm not. I'm not. I love everybody.
- 30:33Speaker 2: We was raised not to see color. But when you
- 30:37Speaker 2: have certain people that sees color instead of look on
- 30:42Speaker 2: the inside, because that's what the Bible said, God looks
- 30:46Speaker 2: on the inside, not the outside appearance, the inside. A
- 30:59Speaker 2: man to be judged based on his character. But you
- 31:05Speaker 2: have people judging us on our color, our skin color.
- 31:21Speaker 2: It's a lot to think about. Family, It's a lot.
- 31:30Speaker 2: It's a lot, it's a lot injustice. What does that
- 31:45Speaker 2: mean to you? How would you teach your kids, your
- 31:53Speaker 2: grandkids different or society that I hate that's out there.
- 32:04Speaker 2: How would you teach them? How would you teach them
- 32:07Speaker 2: to stand your ground their ground? How would you teach them?
- 32:19Speaker 2: How would you interact? How would you interact with other people?
- 32:34Speaker 2: I do, Like I said, I do apologize for my tardiness.
- 32:39Speaker 2: I do not. I do apologize for not being here
- 32:49Speaker 2: these last couple of my last couple of shows, and
- 33:00Speaker 2: in two weeks I should be back to myself. Just remember,
- 33:18Speaker 2: I love you guys. I love you guys unconditionally, and
- 33:25Speaker 2: I'm talking to my listeners. I'm also talking to my
- 33:31Speaker 2: sisters of the Crew podcast. I love you guys dearly.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I love you guys, and Angela, I love you too.
- 33:50Speaker 2: You guys stay pless as missionary apostle Angela Emma was say,
- 34:01Speaker 2: don't forget to drink your water and stay in your
- 34:05Speaker 2: own lane. Thank you guys for letting me get up
- 34:14Speaker 2: here and get some stuff off off my chest. It's
- 34:21Speaker 2: some of the stuff that I've been going through with
- 34:26Speaker 2: this hate. Stay woke, family, Stay woke, and stay prayed up.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I'll see you guys in two weeks. Have a good night.
