- 0:00Speaker 1: John Jay and Rich. Alia's a good morning.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Good morning you guys. I am calling again just to
- 0:06Speaker 2: ask for a prayer for my daughter who just boarded
- 0:09Speaker 2: a flight to Tennessee. She's only fourteen, so it's scary,
- 0:14Speaker 2: and I really appreciate the prayers you guys do for people,
- 0:17Speaker 2: so I thought I might as well ask for my baby.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Sure, what's in Tennessee? Why is she going alone?
- 0:22Speaker 2: It's her best friend. This is her fourth summer going
- 0:25Speaker 2: out there, so yeah, she's a lucky girl.
- 0:28Speaker 1: All right, let's throw a prayer at her. All right, Osie,
- 0:31Speaker 1: I have a great day, Thanks for calling in.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Thank you, bye guys, Bye LeeAnne.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Good morning. You're on the air.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Hey, John Jay and rich and Kyle and Peyton, Hilie.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I was I have a story to tell you, guys.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I was listening to the podcast and on Stacks and Hacks,
- 0:50Speaker 3: John Jay, you were talking about a new trend and
- 0:53Speaker 3: wedding crashing, and I wanted to tell you guys that
- 0:57Speaker 3: I did this. I signed up to be adding crasher
- 1:01Speaker 3: or an extra i'll call it at somebody's wedding.
- 1:05Speaker 4: You did this because of Saxson Hacks. Like you went
- 1:07Speaker 4: to the website and signed up.
- 1:08Speaker 3: No, I had done it before. Oh okay, it was
- 1:11Speaker 3: like in May I did this, but I heard you
- 1:13Speaker 3: talking about it and I just wanted to tell you
- 1:15Speaker 3: my experience because it was really cool but also super weird.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 3: It was this website called not a Wedding Crasher dot com.
- 1:23Speaker 3: I found it like on TikTok or something. It came
- 1:25Speaker 3: through you know how your fyp is. And there was
- 1:29Speaker 3: this couple that was getting married in Gilbert and they
- 1:32Speaker 3: were looking for people to come to their wedding as
- 1:35Speaker 3: basically extras, like I think you know you mentioned maybe
- 1:39Speaker 3: the venue has a minimum spend or like they have
- 1:43Speaker 3: to have so many tables or bar tab or whatever,
- 1:45Speaker 3: and so they if they need to fill seats, they
- 1:48Speaker 3: hire people. And hire is though not the right word,
- 1:52Speaker 3: because I had to pay, which for me like dinner
- 1:54Speaker 3: and a show. I don't care. I'm going to get
- 1:56Speaker 3: food and I get to see a wedding. That sounds cool,
- 1:59Speaker 3: but I did it has to apply to be part
- 2:01Speaker 3: of their wedding, Like I had to go through a
- 2:03Speaker 3: background check and like sell out an application and talk
- 2:06Speaker 3: about like why would be such a like why do
- 2:08Speaker 3: I want to do this? And what do I bring
- 2:10Speaker 3: to the party and I'm just like, well, I'm a vibe.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I love love.
- 2:16Speaker 1: That's awesome. I never heard of that before, Saxon ACKs.
- 2:25Speaker 1: So what happened?
- 2:25Speaker 3: How was it? It was really cool? It was It
- 2:29Speaker 3: was a small wedding in this cute little venue in
- 2:33Speaker 3: Gilbert and they were an older couple. I mean older,
- 2:37Speaker 3: I'm older, but they were. She was a flight attendant,
- 2:40Speaker 3: he was a pilot. They've been together for eighteen years.
- 2:42Speaker 3: They're finally getting married. They had a really cool, blended family.
- 2:46Speaker 3: They had a very like, just diverse crowd. It was
- 2:49Speaker 3: fun and it was There was no alcohol, which was
- 2:52Speaker 3: which fine with me, which I think if you were
- 2:54Speaker 3: going to do this and provide strangers alcohol, there may
- 2:57Speaker 3: be a bigger risk. But it was. It's just such
- 3:00Speaker 3: a cute little thing and it was just a big
- 3:02Speaker 3: celebration of this family. Everybody was in such a good
- 3:05Speaker 3: spirits and loving on everybody. It was. It was really cool.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So how much your friend, how much did this cost.
- 3:11Speaker 3: You for this wedding? It was only twenty five dollars,
- 3:15Speaker 3: but I've seen some of them as much as one
- 3:16Speaker 3: hundred or two hundred dollars, depending on the venue. And
- 3:19Speaker 3: they're like, because they have them all over the US,
- 3:22Speaker 3: and that was the only one in Gilbert. It's a
- 3:24Speaker 3: very new company that's starting.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Okay, so you go to this wedding at Gilbert, you
- 3:28Speaker 4: pay twenty five dollars. You just you went by yourself.
- 3:31Speaker 4: You go, you bring somebody.
- 3:33Speaker 3: I went by myself.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Okay. So you're sitting there. Eventually like do they know you?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Walk in and they're like.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Oh, you're Leanne. You're the one from the wedding crash.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Your website, like they know who you are.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Well, what's funny is I saw the groom first and
- 3:44Speaker 3: I didn't know who he was, Like, I have never
- 3:46Speaker 3: met them. So he like went to give me a hug,
- 3:48Speaker 3: and it was this weird kind of like do I
- 3:50Speaker 3: handshake you? Do I hug you? And I didn't even
- 3:52Speaker 3: know that he was the groom, but he had must
- 3:54Speaker 3: have recognized me from my application because he was like, oh,
- 3:57Speaker 3: it's so nice to have you. And then as I'm
- 3:59Speaker 3: sitting there, I recognized that there were other people that
- 4:02Speaker 3: like could just kind of tell there were other crashers
- 4:05Speaker 3: and I, and so we started to kind of like
- 4:08Speaker 3: wait connected. And so there were three other girls that
- 4:11Speaker 3: were there. There were there were six of us total,
- 4:14Speaker 3: but I noticed three of them right away. Was like,
- 4:16Speaker 3: well wait we we all kind of don't look like
- 4:18Speaker 3: we belong. And so we became friends and we sat
- 4:21Speaker 3: together and we did all the things, the photo booths,
- 4:24Speaker 3: the cross road puggle about how well you know the
- 4:27Speaker 3: bride and groom were making wild guesses about how many
- 4:31Speaker 3: guests they.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Have, and they so crazy.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I had. I took it so seriously. I wanted to
- 4:39Speaker 3: have like a backstory in case anyone asked me, like
- 4:41Speaker 3: how do I know the bride and groom? And so
- 4:44Speaker 3: I was like I was like, oh, yeah, me and
- 4:45Speaker 3: Bev we go way back. We used to play bunko together,
- 4:48Speaker 3: like I had a whole like land out story.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Well, you sound like a great guest. What did you
- 4:53Speaker 1: get food wise for your twenty bucks?
- 4:56Speaker 3: Oh it was just pizza and salad, but it was
- 4:58Speaker 3: it was really fun.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Have you touch base with the bride and groom since
- 5:01Speaker 1: the wedding?
- 5:03Speaker 3: I have? She texted me pictures and then I was
- 5:06Speaker 3: with her and she would I asked her who provided
- 5:09Speaker 3: her macarooms? And yeah, it's so cute. I've got new
- 5:12Speaker 3: friends out of it. You know what on the weekend.
- 5:15Speaker 1: You gave me an idea. I wonder if you could
- 5:17Speaker 1: pull this off.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Like, let's say you go to that website, like we
- 5:19Speaker 4: hold a fake wedding and we need we need guests.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So we need three hundred guests and they all pay
- 5:26Speaker 4: twenty five bucks each and they come to they they come,
- 5:28Speaker 4: We throw a little buffet, some people with little pizza,
- 5:30Speaker 4: and you make some money.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Fake wedding, getting married? Huh, who's getting married? We just yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 1: we just get two people fake. May someone actually wants
- 5:39Speaker 1: it to be their wedding.
- 5:40Speaker 4: I wonder if I could do it, Like if I
- 5:41Speaker 4: need people to show up to the event. Yeah, you
- 5:43Speaker 4: could be the bride.
- 5:44Speaker 3: There we go.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Because you don't because you're you're not at the wedding, right,
- 5:50Speaker 4: you just went to the reception, right? Or did you
- 5:52Speaker 4: go to the church service?
- 5:53Speaker 3: Oh? I went to the whole thing. It wasn't a
- 5:54Speaker 3: church service. It was an outdoor like venue where they.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Have there's all one one done, like one big thing. Yeah, yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 4: I don't do that at the Haze. Sure, on a night,
- 6:02Speaker 4: on the one of the slow nights, she's got nothing
- 6:04Speaker 4: going on.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Nothing, nothing ever happens here on Tuesday afternoon.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Tuesday afternoon, twenty five bucks a pop we need, and
- 6:09Speaker 4: we can promote it on the air.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Let me know, all right, I'll get addressed and everything.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I'll be there all right.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Leanne, you are awesome. Thanks for sharing that with us.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah, of course
