- 0:00Welcome to the RedTech daily podcast, powered by artificial intelligence.
- 0:06I'm Marguerite Clark, bringing you the latest updates in the world of radio broadcast and
- 0:10digital audio industries.
- 0:13In today's episode, we'll be covering Genelec's update to their binaural headphone app and a
- 0:17significant partnership boosting Malawi's community stations.
- 0:24First up, Genelec has rolled out an update to its Aural ID binaural headphone monitoring
- 0:29application.
- 0:31The new version 2.1 introduces powerful enhancements to streamline workflows and
- 0:36improve system transparency.
- 0:39This update operates as a virtual Macintosh sound card and is compatible with any brand of
- 0:44professional headphones, becoming a key element in Genelec's UNIO monitoring ecosystem.
- 0:50Available as an annual subscription or perpetual license, it empowers audio
- 0:54professionals to trust every detail of their headphone mix, whether in stereo or complex
- 0:59immersive audio.
- 1:02Now, let's turn our attention to Malawi, where community radio stations are set to receive a
- 1:07professional boost thanks to a new partnership with the Malawi Institute of Journalism.
- 1:13Historically, these stations have relied heavily on volunteers with minimal formal
- 1:17training, which has affected the quality of their output.
- 1:21This collaboration aims to change that by providing targeted training and internships for
- 1:26journalism students.
- 1:28Community stations will benefit from improved content and credibility, while students gain
- 1:33practical experience.
- 1:35The Malawi Institute of Journalism, the country's only dedicated journalism training
- 1:39institution, is setting up long-term collaborations with community radio
- 1:43broadcasters.
- 1:45According to MIJ academic manager Murray Siyasiya, the initiative will include
- 1:49specialized training in various aspects of journalism, including news writing, editing,
- 1:54and digital media skills.
- 1:57Additionally, MIJ FM will broadcast adverts and awareness campaigns from these stations to help
- 2:03them reach a wider audience.
- 2:05This partnership is already in place with three stations and aims to expand further.
- 2:10That wraps up today's episode of RedTech daily podcast.
