- 0:03Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time presented by
- 0:06Speaker 1: Prize Picks.
- 0:08Speaker 2: My name is Beaumont Jones.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Thanks for listening wherever you get your podcast. Thanks for
- 0:11Speaker 1: watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like, rate us, review us,
- 0:15Speaker 1: give us five stars. You only give us four stars.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm inclined to believe you are a hater. It is
- 0:20Speaker 1: Foxworth Friday somewhere. Dominique Foxworth, what's going on?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Chilling, brother. Happy to be here.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Hey, man.
- 0:27Speaker 2: How'd it go? Dominique did the playbook on Monday Night Football.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I loved it, man. It was funny.
- 0:32Speaker 4: It was, I did it a couple of times last
- 0:34Speaker 4: year and I was terrible at it. And he didn't
- 0:36Speaker 4: even tell us about it. Yeah. I mean, I did
- 0:39Speaker 4: it a few times and I really wasn't comfortable with it.
- 0:41Speaker 4: So I went back and studied the tape and got prepared.
- 0:45Speaker 4: And I thought, honestly, like, Well, I was going to
- 0:48Speaker 4: say I hate to pat myself on the back, but
- 0:50Speaker 4: I don't hate to pat myself on the back. I
- 0:52Speaker 4: tell you when the shit was shit, I tell you
- 0:54Speaker 4: when the shit was fire. It was pretty good, man.
- 0:56Speaker 4: I enjoyed it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: All right.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Well, look, we got a lot of football to get to.
- 0:59Speaker 1: But first, I have to ask you, NBA season started
- 1:02Speaker 1: last night.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Year 24 LeBron.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They got LeBron in a year 24 patch that if
- 1:08Speaker 1: I were him, I would decline.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Do they? Yeah, that's he gave up on the hair.
- 1:15Speaker 4: He came on home, which was a nice, which I
- 1:19Speaker 4: guess maybe he started doing that towards the end of
- 1:20Speaker 4: last year, but that with the combination of the year
- 1:23Speaker 4: 24 patch, I guess, I mean, not, I guess it's
- 1:25Speaker 4: definitely something you should be proud of.
- 1:27Speaker 3: You know what I mean? You got to boast out there.
- 1:29Speaker 4: I feel like that's a lot of my content about
- 1:31Speaker 4: LeBron is like how he's old enough to be like
- 1:35Speaker 4: Edgecombe's daughter's grandfather and stuff like that. And like how
- 1:39Speaker 4: his son is older than BJ Edgecombe. It's just all
- 1:42Speaker 4: about how old LeBron is. But he looked good, to
- 1:44Speaker 4: be honest with you.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I mean, he looked good for the age that he is, right?
- 1:48Speaker 1: And it is amazing that he could play at this
- 1:50Speaker 1: level at age.
- 1:52Speaker 2: 41 going on 42.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I will say this about him coming home. Him coming
- 2:00Speaker 1: home has shown why he didn't want to come home before.
- 2:05Speaker 2: He a little quadrilateral with it.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Like, it's just a little. He got a square head.
- 2:12Speaker 1: It's not quite a strawberry head. I went to high
- 2:14Speaker 1: school with a dude. He's called Head. And Head had
- 2:17Speaker 1: a strawberry, right? Like, his thing went out. And then
- 2:20Speaker 1: came back around. LeBron doesn't quite do that, but he
- 2:23Speaker 1: does not. This was he has an unfortunate bad break
- 2:28Speaker 1: on the hairline he got with the head that he has.
- 2:31Speaker 4: I also wonder, like, how the come on home community
- 2:36Speaker 4: feels about someone who was so resentful. Like, I get
- 2:40Speaker 4: that you just, you fight your own hairline and you
- 2:43Speaker 4: keep it for as long as you can. I'm at
- 2:44Speaker 4: that stage. I'm keeping it for as long as I can.
- 2:46Speaker 4: But eventually, I'm probably going to have to come on home.
- 2:49Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 2:50Speaker 4: But the fact that he just was like, nah, and
- 2:52Speaker 4: now all of a sudden we're supposed to accept you?
- 2:54Speaker 2: Nah, but you know what, man?
- 2:55Speaker 1: Deep down, any of us who've been there and knew
- 2:58Speaker 1: that our time was short and we was just going
- 3:00Speaker 1: to hold on as long as we could. we can
- 3:02Speaker 1: relate to it i wouldn't have come home as early
- 3:05Speaker 1: as i came home but i had to come home
- 3:08Speaker 1: because i'd moved to miami and the last thing i
- 3:11Speaker 1: wanted to do was listen to people talk about sports
- 3:13Speaker 1: at a barbershop i just i just had no interest
- 3:18Speaker 1: in it and then my man moved to miami and
- 3:21Speaker 1: he started going to i think it was a colombian
- 3:23Speaker 1: barber of venezuela and i can't remember which man but
- 3:26Speaker 1: uh they was just dropping a lot of N-words.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Right?
- 3:31Speaker 2: That's tough.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And Miami, you all get into some real awkward situations
- 3:35Speaker 1: with that in Miami. Like, I don't... As with everything
- 3:38Speaker 1: else in Miami, there are no rules.
- 3:40Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 3:42Speaker 1: But.
- 3:42Speaker 3: New York, the rules are pretty set.
- 3:43Speaker 4: Like, I've known since I was a kid that who's
- 3:46Speaker 4: fine and who's not.
- 3:47Speaker 3: And I.
- 3:48Speaker 4: The Fat Joe thing that people got upset about, I
- 3:51Speaker 4: was like, I thought we settled.
- 3:52Speaker 3: This a long time ago. Yeah, man. Like, I know it's—
- 3:53Speaker 3: I thought they was good.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, if you're not from up here, it seems kind
- 3:56Speaker 1: of weird, but you have to understand, those aren't Mexicans. Yeah.
- 4:00Speaker 3: They never tried to be. They also, like, fully embrace
- 4:03Speaker 3: that they with us.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, if you're Latinos, where you from, or Mexicans, nope, nope, nope.
- 4:08Speaker 1: We don't have that kind of rapport. We're not cool
- 4:12Speaker 1: like that. That's all it comes down to. Up here,
- 4:15Speaker 1: it's a little bit different. The locals have decided that
- 4:19Speaker 1: this is okay. And again, when you show up and
- 4:22Speaker 1: you're not from here, it's weird, but it gets back
- 4:25Speaker 1: to those four words.
- 4:26Speaker 3: You're not from here.
- 4:27Speaker 1: But I was like you. Every time it comes up
- 4:29Speaker 1: with Fat Joe, I'm like, we did not argue about
- 4:31Speaker 1: this at all in 1995.
- 4:32Speaker 2: We didn't.
- 4:33Speaker 3: This was fine. It was for all of them, too.
- 4:36Speaker 3: It wasn't just Fat Joe did get a special, like, pass.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It was like, yeah. Paul was on it, too?
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And I trusted my New York brethren. That's... They said
- 4:45Speaker 3: it was okay. It's okay.
- 4:46Speaker 4: It's different in Miami. I don't have that. I guess because.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Miami hip hop was a little later and it was
- 4:53Speaker 3: focused on butts. I didn't have the same familiarity.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But it's so interesting because Miami has a lot of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the same people that it's allowed to slide with here.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But in Miami, they got a different attitude about it.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Solidarity is not safe. The notion of solidarity is not
- 5:09Speaker 1: there as it is up here.
- 5:12Speaker 3: I get the sense that it's about them, not us.
- 5:15Speaker 4: I felt like the New York was like, we with them.
- 5:20Speaker 3: The Miami one was like, we not with them. I
- 5:23Speaker 3: was like, fine. We not mad, but I'm going to
- 5:25Speaker 3: need this word. That's all I need.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Let me tell you the motto of Miami for all
- 5:29Speaker 1: the groups, no matter who we talking about is, we
- 5:31Speaker 1: not with them.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 2: No matter who– what group it is that you're talking about.
- 5:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 2: We are with us.
- 5:38Speaker 1: We are not with them. But I will say this
- 5:40Speaker 1: for that game. And, look, we've seen this happen many
- 5:43Speaker 1: times on ring night where a team might come out
- 5:45Speaker 1: a little hot or maybe they get their doors blown off.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Like San Antonio basically had a ring night and they
- 5:49Speaker 1: got their doors blown off because Victor played terrible along
- 5:52Speaker 1: with others. But the potential of the Sixers– Ooh, you
- 5:58Speaker 1: saw it. You saw it there. The bright side with
- 6:01Speaker 1: them and LeBron is what LeBron not going to do
- 6:04Speaker 1: is try to force this. Like LeBron's not going to
- 6:06Speaker 1: try to prove to you that he can still score
- 6:07Speaker 1: 20 points a game. That being said, LeBron's going to
- 6:10Speaker 1: put up the worst field goal percentage of his career.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Like he's just like he's at that point of old
- 6:15Speaker 1: where I just can't shoot like I used to.
- 6:17Speaker 4: Right. He also was very clear when he couldn't shoot,
- 6:21Speaker 4: he was going to get in the paint. And I
- 6:23Speaker 4: didn't realize that Landry Shamit is not French. I always
- 6:26Speaker 4: assumed he was French because I don't know, like it's
- 6:30Speaker 4: the last name is like, I guess I should have
- 6:33Speaker 4: accepted that they was calling him Shamit.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Not shemay and i was like.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Lebron took it down there and then so lebron kind
- 6:43Speaker 4: of pushed him around scored on him and then gave
- 6:45Speaker 4: landry a shove down the down the court like what
- 6:49Speaker 4: he was supposed to give you one because you was
- 6:51Speaker 4: being a little overzealous in the paint hey.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I gotta tell you we mentioned that about landry shabby
- 6:55Speaker 1: you ever been to baracko yeah where'd you go baracko
- 7:00Speaker 1: marrakesh okay.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I I did a day of Marrakesh.
- 7:03Speaker 1: We set up a Casablanca, checked out Tangier, checked out Rabat,
- 7:07Speaker 1: did a few places in Morocco. Morocco, it's a few
- 7:11Speaker 1: different models in Morocco when it comes to, like, faces.
- 7:17Speaker 1: You got your DJ Khaled. You got your Colin Kaepernick.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You got your Neil Brennan. You know, your French Montana.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And I felt like there was a Landry Shabbat. I'm
- 7:29Speaker 3: looking at you. I feel you. I feel you.
- 7:33Speaker 4: But, I mean, the man went to high school in
- 7:35Speaker 4: Kansas City, Missouri.
- 7:36Speaker 1: No, but I was going to say, though, the Landry Shabbat,
- 7:38Speaker 1: given the French part, that could ease, like, I could
- 7:41Speaker 1: see the translation over. Now that you mention it, better
- 7:44Speaker 1: you than me, Sham Pipple that played for the Spurs.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I made him French, and he from Brooklyn.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's definitely on me because we was all
- 7:54Speaker 4: pronouncing it Shamit.
- 7:57Speaker 3: We never would have pronounced it Shamit if he was
- 7:59Speaker 3: actually French.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I mean, we was calling that dude Shampitty, which is
- 8:01Speaker 2: also not French. It was all on me. Also, I
- 8:04Speaker 2: want to say this about Sham Pipple. I saw him
- 8:06Speaker 2: last night.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Sham Pipple has obviously, he needs to come home, but
- 8:12Speaker 1: he's catching it dead in the middle.
- 8:14Speaker 3: It's right there at the top of his head.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It's happening.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But he keeps growing it out in the sides, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: they got more overhead shots than ever in basketball. And
- 8:22Speaker 1: you can see what's going on here. He's got a crater.
- 8:26Speaker 4: That's tough, too, because being that he's a basketball player,
- 8:29Speaker 4: don't nobody see that. But being that you're a basketball player,
- 8:33Speaker 4: everybody see that. So, like, day-to-day life, nobody ever notice it.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Well, that's like Kevin Durant, who has been– it's been
- 8:39Speaker 1: worse than we thought, actually. for quite a while and
- 8:43Speaker 1: it's just because he's seven feet tall that we couldn't get.
- 8:46Speaker 4: There and he also don't care which like honestly like
- 8:49Speaker 4: i i kind of feel kevin durant i'm not at
- 8:52Speaker 4: kevin durant level but when i see how ashy his
- 8:54Speaker 4: legs i'm like i'd be like that often and i
- 8:57Speaker 4: don't tell nobody.
- 8:58Speaker 2: Here's the thing about his don't care that is interesting.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Because we grew up with Rasheed Wallace as the don't
- 9:03Speaker 1: care guy.
- 9:04Speaker 2: The dude that they called in Philly, Dirty Rosh. My
- 9:06Speaker 2: roommate was from Philly.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I didn't realize when I got to college that everybody
- 9:10Speaker 1: from Philly knew each other in so formal fashion. So, like,
- 9:13Speaker 1: the idea, like, Rasheed Wallace would do it on television
- 9:15Speaker 1: to me. To him, he's Dirty Rosh.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Like, that's just what they called him.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But there was always something, like, kind of charming and
- 9:21Speaker 1: quirky about about Rasheed Wallace's didn't care.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Nobody went longer between haircuts and all that stuff. He
- 9:26Speaker 2: doesn't seem to do that now. But all of those things,
- 9:29Speaker 2: nobody did it.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Durant, it just feels much more like negligence rather than
- 9:34Speaker 1: a personality trait.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a fair point. I think you're right. It's that.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Rasheed Wallace knew that he was supposed to care, but
- 9:40Speaker 4: didn't care.
- 9:41Speaker 3: It feel like Durant is like, huh? What y'all even
- 9:44Speaker 3: talking about?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Well, Durant, it doesn't match your game.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Your game implies crisp line up and all of these
- 9:50Speaker 1: other things.
- 9:51Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Attention to detail.
- 9:53Speaker 1: It is. Yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 4: There are no mistakes in this game.
- 9:55Speaker 3: There's no nothing. No oversights.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Too busy hooping. Too busy hooping. But I know I did.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Sixers look good.
- 10:00Speaker 1: The Knicks fans are telling me they don't care if
- 10:03Speaker 1: the Knicks aren't good this year.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, we'll see.
- 10:06Speaker 1: We'll see how that goes in actual application. And shout
- 10:11Speaker 1: out to Tyrese Maxey. I do not like teams with
- 10:13Speaker 1: small guards. That small guard is cold. And they don't
- 10:18Speaker 1: even need that much out of Embiid. And I ain't
- 10:20Speaker 1: even talking about Oc. Young Oc in his first game
- 10:25Speaker 1: with the Sixers, he did what needed to be done. Oh, yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 2: Jalen Brown. Jalen Brown.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Biting my style.
- 10:32Speaker 3: You heard about that, right? What'd he do?
- 10:35Speaker 2: The harp?
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
- 10:37Speaker 3: You got a harp?
- 10:38Speaker 2: No, you know, I've been talking about the harp for
- 10:40Speaker 2: the longest.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Oh. Oh, man, you might have showed up. You showed
- 10:43Speaker 1: up a little late. You ain't know about the harp.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I must be.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Did you ever notice the old Right Time logo had
- 10:46Speaker 2: a harp in it?
- 10:47Speaker 3: I did notice that.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yes, because I've been scheming on a harp since 2013.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I've been talking about having somebody come in and play
- 10:53Speaker 1: the harp in the whole night. And honestly, I don't
- 10:55Speaker 1: mind that he got it first. I mind that anybody
- 10:57Speaker 1: might think that when I get my harp that I'm
- 11:00Speaker 1: trying to get like him.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I'm too old for that.
- 11:02Speaker 4: What's been holding you up from getting a harp? I
- 11:04Speaker 4: assume that they're not cheap, but you don't have the room.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I didn't have really the proper layout in the places
- 11:10Speaker 1: that I had for the harp. And I felt like,
- 11:13Speaker 1: and this is where I need to get my weight up,
- 11:15Speaker 1: that if I needed the harp, I needed to be
- 11:17Speaker 1: able to at least occasionally play somebody to come play
- 11:20Speaker 1: the harp. And I could probably afford it here and there,
- 11:23Speaker 1: but my sensibilities ain't quite in that space. But now I'm...
- 11:30Speaker 1: I'm hating, and I'm going to just stop talking about
- 11:32Speaker 1: all that stuff.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I'm not even going to do that.
- 11:35Speaker 1: I'm going to get my face right for serious topics.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Sometimes you just got to, oh, and then you bring
- 11:42Speaker 1: it back.
- 11:43Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 11:44Speaker 3: I feel you.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You and I have, we've been group chatting about the
- 11:47Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts situation.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I am in the.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I don't really know what happened here, but it doesn't
- 11:55Speaker 1: seem like he is agent and the team have beef.
- 11:58Speaker 1: So I'm kind of inclined to believe what the team
- 12:01Speaker 1: tells us. However, I am also inclined to believe that
- 12:04Speaker 1: the team don't feel good about what they did because
- 12:07Speaker 1: they sent mumbles out there to try to explain. They
- 12:12Speaker 1: said Nick Seriani out there by himself to explain something
- 12:15Speaker 1: we know he's not qualified to explain. And we know
- 12:17Speaker 1: that because he can't explain the offense.
- 12:21Speaker 4: Yeah, the Hurts stuff, to me, it's somewhat irrelevant whether
- 12:27Speaker 4: him and his agent are fine with the Eagles or not.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Like to me, there still has to be some sort
- 12:33Speaker 4: of investigation done. You have to find out to make
- 12:35Speaker 4: sure exactly what went wrong because like how things turned
- 12:39Speaker 4: out was bad. It was it wasn't terrible. It could
- 12:42Speaker 4: have been catastrophic. It was really bad and embarrassing. Fortunately,
- 12:46Speaker 4: there was nothing like terrible so we can move on
- 12:49Speaker 4: and forget about it. But like the union, I think
- 12:52Speaker 4: is going to get involved and make sure that they
- 12:54Speaker 4: do everything. a real investigation and figure out where the
- 12:58Speaker 4: ball was dropped especially if we're going to continue to
- 13:00Speaker 4: do these international games which obviously we're going to continue
- 13:03Speaker 4: to do these international games.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Yeah i don't i think i have like this broad
- 13:09Speaker 1: understanding of Blood clots, basically. I think all of us
- 13:14Speaker 1: know somebody at some point that's had some blood clot
- 13:16Speaker 1: and there's been a discussion about how to deal with
- 13:18Speaker 1: airplanes and everything.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Else that goes around it.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But it's kind of like I have to acknowledge just
- 13:23Speaker 1: because somebody hit their head in a football game doesn't
- 13:26Speaker 1: mean they had a concussion. I don't actually know that
- 13:28Speaker 1: much about these things. And I don't feel like I've
- 13:31Speaker 1: seen anybody properly explain to me. So the way this went, apparently,
- 13:36Speaker 1: is that Hurts got kicked in the leg in a game.
- 13:40Speaker 1: and he had what they call a superficial blood clot.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I guess you could see it, right? Like one of
- 13:46Speaker 1: those you could see at the top or whatever.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:49Speaker 1: They were dealing with that or trying to test and
- 13:51Speaker 1: figure out if he could play, and that was where
- 13:53Speaker 1: the he stayed up all night story came from. And
- 13:56Speaker 1: it sounds like he didn't stay up all night, but
- 14:00Speaker 1: it sounded like he was up all night, if that
- 14:02Speaker 1: makes sense.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Okay. So they tried to figure this out. They determined
- 14:07Speaker 2: that he was able to play.
- 14:09Speaker 1: And then to me, the real question is, then they
- 14:13Speaker 1: determined that it was OK to put him on a
- 14:14Speaker 1: plane to bring him back home, which all of us
- 14:17Speaker 1: thought was something that you were not like was supposed
- 14:19Speaker 1: to be off the board. Maybe I don't know as
- 14:21Speaker 1: much about this stuff as I thought I did, because
- 14:25Speaker 1: it wouldn't cost you anything to not put him on
- 14:27Speaker 1: a plane in that moment.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I don't even know if it was appropriate for him
- 14:30Speaker 2: to play.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:31Speaker 2: There's that part.
- 14:32Speaker 3: But the plane is the one where we.
- 14:34Speaker 2: All are like, hey, man, are you sure this is
- 14:35Speaker 2: what you want to do?
- 14:37Speaker 3: They put him on the plane. He got back.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And then a couple of days later, they found blood
- 14:39Speaker 1: clots in his lungs. And now we are where we are.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And I think the fact that we don't understand is
- 14:46Speaker 1: why there needs to be an investigation. But what I
- 14:50Speaker 1: do think is also worth discussing as a media thing
- 14:53Speaker 1: when we talk about it. Our acknowledgement that we don't
- 14:56Speaker 1: exactly know what's going on here either, and I feel
- 14:58Speaker 1: like it got dropped onto the outrage machine.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Where everybody knows more than everybody else about all the things.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So now it's in the outrage machine, and that's the
- 15:06Speaker 1: only room for discussion. The Eagles blew this, but I'm
- 15:10Speaker 1: not sure that it's as nefarious as I think it's
- 15:14Speaker 1: being assumed to have been.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that.
- 15:18Speaker 4: a lot of us and I'm included in this, my
- 15:20Speaker 4: knee jerk reaction when there's like an health issue with
- 15:23Speaker 4: the player is that the team did something wrong. Like
- 15:27Speaker 4: that's my like immediate knee jerk reaction. I take some
- 15:31Speaker 4: time to think about the process and then like prepare
- 15:33Speaker 4: the right things that actually say on TV, but they
- 15:36Speaker 4: have a history. Like, several individual teams in the league
- 15:40Speaker 4: as a whole has a history of not being completely
- 15:43Speaker 4: forthright with medical information and not necessarily caring about the
- 15:47Speaker 4: player's safety as much as they care about other things.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So, like, I don't think that's unfair.
- 15:50Speaker 4: I think it's irresponsible, though, to then jump to the
- 15:52Speaker 4: conclusion that you know they did something wrong because that's
- 15:57Speaker 4: a whole different thing. So I think that's why this
- 15:59Speaker 4: all comes up. And the introduction to blood clots for
- 16:02Speaker 4: me was Tommy Frazier in college. I remember that was
- 16:05Speaker 4: the first time I realized that blood clots were dangerous
- 16:09Speaker 4: because before that, all I heard was your blood clots
- 16:12Speaker 4: keep you from bleeding out.
- 16:13Speaker 3: It's healthy. You scab over and you're fine. They said
- 16:15Speaker 3: blood clots.
- 16:16Speaker 2: They help you.
- 16:17Speaker 4: It was like Tommy Frazier not playing in the Sugar
- 16:20Speaker 4: Bowl or whatever it was.
- 16:21Speaker 3: It was like blood clots. I was like... He ain't
- 16:24Speaker 3: playing for blood clots.
- 16:25Speaker 4: And so I think part of this is it's such
- 16:27Speaker 4: a rare situation in sports is like, and they were
- 16:31Speaker 4: overseas probably had something to do with it is like,
- 16:34Speaker 4: it seems like you need different experts. Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Well, that's the thing.
- 16:38Speaker 1: They said they were going to, they said, The way
- 16:40Speaker 1: the Eagles have reported it, it sounds like they did
- 16:43Speaker 1: what was reasonable for them to do. Now, the other
- 16:45Speaker 1: thing with blood clots, and this is for me, I
- 16:48Speaker 1: don't fully understand everything about playing with the blood clots themselves.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Flying with the blood clots, I understand. That's not what
- 16:57Speaker 2: you want.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But playing, I was always under the impression the issue
- 17:01Speaker 1: of playing with blood clots was the issue of playing
- 17:04Speaker 1: on blood thinners. And that once you start taking blood thinners,
- 17:07Speaker 1: you got to be off them for like three months
- 17:08Speaker 1: before you could play. It was not even so much this.
- 17:11Speaker 1: And I also wonder, like, I look at myself in this, like,
- 17:15Speaker 1: am I being naive? Is this one of those things
- 17:17Speaker 1: that requires, like, it's something that comes up a lot
- 17:20Speaker 1: when I talk to one friend of mine in particular,
- 17:23Speaker 1: but especially when I talk to lawyers about like Trump
- 17:26Speaker 1: and stuff around.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Him, that there's a level of dastardliness there.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Is it dastard? Is dastard the noun?
- 17:35Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? But there's a level of
- 17:38Speaker 2: dastard that they just can't get themselves to assume. Like,
- 17:41Speaker 2: they believe in the rule of law to a point
- 17:43Speaker 2: where they're like, wait a minute, you can't do that.
- 17:44Speaker 3: It's the law.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And it's like, hey, man, I don't know if you've
- 17:46Speaker 1: been paying attention, but this don't land with them. I
- 17:50Speaker 1: struggle to believe that they would put the dude on
- 17:56Speaker 1: the plane if there was a thought that That he
- 18:00Speaker 1: could die from being on the plane. That being said,
- 18:04Speaker 1: I did Andrew Marchand's podcast the other day. And the
- 18:08Speaker 1: point that I put there, something I always say to
- 18:10Speaker 1: my agent reminds me all the time when people do
- 18:13Speaker 1: things around work that I don't like is do not
- 18:16Speaker 1: assume malice when incompetence might be the answer. And if
- 18:21Speaker 1: the answer is incompetence and not malice, that is perhaps
- 18:25Speaker 1: morally superior, but functionally the same thing. Exactly.
- 18:31Speaker 3: And I think you're probably right.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I mean, that's why we keep coming back to the
- 18:34Speaker 4: same thing is we have to find out exactly what
- 18:36Speaker 4: happened at every step of the way, because like.
- 18:40Speaker 3: The result was terrible. The result was terrible. You put
- 18:47Speaker 3: a player's life at risk.
- 18:49Speaker 4: A star player at a marquee franchise at that, I
- 18:52Speaker 4: know it shouldn't matter, but it does because guys have died.
- 18:56Speaker 4: I played in a preseason game where a guy died.
- 19:01Speaker 4: You remember the Kansas City Chiefs situation where, was it
- 19:06Speaker 4: i'm embarrassing myself but this is the same point like
- 19:09Speaker 4: was it butler or yeah there was a guy who
- 19:11Speaker 4: came back like things happen yeah that are really terrible
- 19:14Speaker 4: uh and we move on from it you don't quite
- 19:17Speaker 4: forget the big things that happen to the big players
- 19:20Speaker 4: and they put them in a terrible situation like there's
- 19:23Speaker 4: no way around this was a terrible result and to
- 19:26Speaker 4: your point it could just be Stupid it could be missed.
- 19:31Speaker 4: They didn't have all the information either way. They need
- 19:33Speaker 4: to figure out how they're never in this situation No
- 19:35Speaker 4: teams ever in a situation again Where they're putting a
- 19:39Speaker 4: guy's life at risk for no reason not that it
- 19:41Speaker 4: would be better if it was like He was playing
- 19:44Speaker 4: in a Super Bowl. You had to go out there
- 19:46Speaker 4: that wouldn't make it better But this one like they
- 19:49Speaker 4: don't even gain anything from like from this they could
- 19:51Speaker 4: have put his ass on a boat they don't care.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Right like I meant and I mentioned this earlier briefly
- 19:56Speaker 1: but the greatest argument that the Eagles were incompetent on
- 20:01Speaker 1: this is them sending Sirianni out there by himself Like that,
- 20:05Speaker 1: that did a disservice to literally every person involved in this.
- 20:11Speaker 1: And this is an organization that I feel like we
- 20:14Speaker 1: think of as being one that's well run, or at
- 20:16Speaker 1: the very least.
- 20:17Speaker 3: They good at getting players.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Like you, you would think given this circumstance that this
- 20:23Speaker 1: is the, the chain of circumstances or the plan for
- 20:27Speaker 1: what we're going to do here. It doesn't seem very
- 20:29Speaker 1: complex to me. Hey, Jalen, um, We can't talk about
- 20:35Speaker 1: what's happening with you without your permission. So would you
- 20:39Speaker 1: grant us this and we will send our team doctor,
- 20:43Speaker 1: our trainer, whoever it is, medical person who knows how
- 20:45Speaker 1: to talk about this stuff because we got to explain
- 20:47Speaker 1: this to everybody. Are you cool with that, right? And
- 20:50Speaker 1: if you can't send a trainer out there, okay, fine.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Howie got to be out there. If Howie or Jeff
- 20:55Speaker 1: Lurie or one of those dudes has to be the
- 20:58Speaker 1: one that's out there, but what you can't have is
- 21:00Speaker 1: this motherfucker that ain't shaved in three days just sitting
- 21:03Speaker 1: there trying to figure out how to not answer no questions.
- 21:07Speaker 1: With that press corps, by the way. Now, you might
- 21:10Speaker 1: have been able to get away with that in Green
- 21:12Speaker 1: Bay or somewhere else.
- 21:14Speaker 2: And now, I haven't seen this part. Again, we talk
- 21:16Speaker 2: about this all the time on this show.
- 21:18Speaker 1: A team with the largest ecosystem of former players talking
- 21:22Speaker 1: about them. And they ain't been a team yet that's like,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I can't, I mean, a player yet. I can't wait
- 21:29Speaker 1: to tell you how wonderful the medical team was when
- 21:32Speaker 1: I played at blank. You just walking yourself into all
- 21:35Speaker 1: kinds of disaster when it's obvious.
- 21:38Speaker 3: You're in crisis. You know why you should know you're
- 21:40Speaker 3: in crisis?
- 21:40Speaker 2: Because your quarterback's career might be over.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Sign number one. I don't add to your point. I
- 21:47Speaker 3: don't get the point.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I don't get the reason for sending out the head coach.
- 21:51Speaker 4: I don't understand how you still don't realize. So like the,
- 21:54Speaker 4: the mistakes were made to get you in this situation.
- 21:58Speaker 4: How do you not recognize that this is a real situation?
- 22:00Speaker 4: This ain't an on the field situation. This is an
- 22:03Speaker 4: above like ownership situation. situation i i think you have
- 22:08Speaker 4: to come out with the owner and like medical professionals
- 22:11Speaker 4: and maybe jalen also if he's willing to do it
- 22:13Speaker 4: and like this and explain what actually happened having the
- 22:16Speaker 4: coach talk about it to me seems like uh another
- 22:19Speaker 4: unforced error and and somewhat disrespectful.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Not just any coach yeah that coach.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah that one that's.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Look, I feel like this happened with the Lions. I
- 22:33Speaker 1: think we can send Dan Campbell out there. At the
- 22:34Speaker 1: very least, Dan Campbell going to hit the vibes and going.
- 22:37Speaker 2: To be strong.
- 22:38Speaker 1: We're going to come out of that feeling like, I
- 22:40Speaker 1: think Jalen's going to beat this.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Right?
- 22:42Speaker 3: If nothing else, we're.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Going to come out there, hashtag hurt strong, hashtag hurt
- 22:48Speaker 1: so good.
- 22:49Speaker 3: We're going to be all the way, whatever it takes.
- 22:51Speaker 3: We're going to be out there.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Dan's going to have the boys ready to run through
- 22:54Speaker 2: a goddamn wall on Sunday in the name of Jalen Hurts.
- 22:58Speaker 3: You know that.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I just came away from that being like, no wonder
- 23:01Speaker 2: y'all don't be winning.
- 23:03Speaker 4: They have defied logic with the amount of success that
- 23:08Speaker 4: they've had in the recent years, considering all the variables
- 23:12Speaker 4: that are involved. And I'm willing to accept that this
- 23:14Speaker 4: is a different organization that will that Howie is more
- 23:19Speaker 4: in charge. Like the general manager is very, it's kind
- 23:21Speaker 4: of baseball-y in that way that the general manager is
- 23:24Speaker 4: more controlled than the head coach in some of these situations,
- 23:27Speaker 4: but it's a very loud and aggressive head coach, but
- 23:29Speaker 4: they've been like consistently competitive to the point now where
- 23:35Speaker 4: people are kind of surprised. And we offered them some
- 23:37Speaker 4: like benefit, benefit of the doubt that it's clear that
- 23:41Speaker 4: they didn't necessarily deserve as far as the team is concerned.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And then you get to this stuff. Like, I'm not
- 23:46Speaker 4: surprised that this is handled poorly because football teams are
- 23:49Speaker 4: prepared for a lot of things, but they aren't really
- 23:52Speaker 4: prepared for this, which... It's kind of embarrassing considering it
- 23:55Speaker 4: happens in this sport probably more than any other sport
- 23:58Speaker 4: where you have to have a real conversation about some
- 24:00Speaker 4: real shit.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Well, no, because they don't be having a conversation. They
- 24:03Speaker 2: just keep it moving, right? That's true.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Like you tell the story about when they airlifted that
- 24:08Speaker 1: dude off the field when you was in college, and
- 24:10Speaker 1: then you just move over to another field.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Or that time.
- 24:14Speaker 1: We thought somebody died, and once they got him out
- 24:17Speaker 1: of there with an ambulance that was not driving fast
- 24:20Speaker 1: and did not have lights on, and the boys just
- 24:22Speaker 1: started warming up.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Getting ready to go back. There's nothing in the.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Manual for this.
- 24:27Speaker 1: It's just wild considering how likely one would think it is.
- 24:31Speaker 3: But one.
- 24:32Speaker 4: Once them games hit on Sunday, boy, we forgive you.
- 24:37Speaker 3: We back. You give us that crack.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yay, man.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Right back.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Maybe we just out here making omelets, man. You know
- 24:43Speaker 2: what I'm saying? Like, that's all it comes down to, man.
- 24:46Speaker 2: We making omelets.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Delicious omelets.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Coming up next, the NFL is playing overseas, but overseas
- 24:54Speaker 1: they raising a ruckus. Find out what I mean coming
- 24:57Speaker 1: up next. The NBA is back on prize picks. Pick
- 25:03Speaker 1: a shootout in the West, a boards battle in the East.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Pick it all on prize picks available nationwide. So what
- 25:10Speaker 1: are you waiting for? What am I on this NBA season? Well,
- 25:14Speaker 1: I expect Victor to be on a revenge tour all
- 25:16Speaker 1: year long for the Spurs. So when he's in the lineup,
- 25:19Speaker 1: it's probably not a bad idea to select him to
- 25:21Speaker 1: go more. But just because the association is back doesn't
- 25:25Speaker 1: mean football is slowing down. Make your NBA picks like
- 25:28Speaker 1: points and rebounds, then add your football picks like touchdown
- 25:32Speaker 1: and passing yards, and put them in the same lineup.
- 25:34Speaker 1: The lineup possibilities are almost endless because everyone and everything

- 26:26Speaker 6: look ahead. Sunday night football, Seattle taking on Kansas City.
- 26:29Speaker 6: Sam Darnold's projection is set at 225.5 passing yards.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Per Go Moore.
- 26:35Speaker 1: The reason I say go Moore, I think Kansas City's
- 26:38Speaker 1: going to win. I think Kansas City's going to be
- 26:40Speaker 1: ahead early to keep it going. I think that's then
- 26:43Speaker 1: going to require Seattle to throw the ball more, and
- 26:46Speaker 1: that means same Darnold, on his way to a couple
- 26:48Speaker 1: of interceptions, is also going to throw more than the
- 26:51Speaker 1: allotted number of yards.
- 26:53Speaker 6: All right, thanks again. The prize picks use code BOMANI
- 26:55Speaker 6: to join in the action.
- 26:57Speaker 1: All right, we are back with Dominique Foxworth. The NFL
- 27:00Speaker 1: keep trying to make the rest of the world watch
- 27:02Speaker 1: football play. I can't think of much less French than
- 27:05Speaker 1: the NFL. Oh, I forgot. Not only did we send
- 27:11Speaker 1: the NFL to France this Sunday, we sent the Saints.
- 27:18Speaker 1: It is the Saints and the Steelers, which means a
- 27:21Speaker 1: gang of New Orleansians.
- 27:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:25Speaker 2: I believe that's how you say it, a.k.a.
- 27:27Speaker 1: WOTUS. They are going to be in their quasi-ancestral homeland.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And I think for the first time in their lives,
- 27:34Speaker 1: they will go somewhere that feels familiar. Because New Orleans
- 27:38Speaker 1: is nothing like anything else in the United.
- 27:40Speaker 2: States of America. And then the first time I went
- 27:42Speaker 2: to Paris, I was like, oh.
- 27:44Speaker 1: It was like that meme of Yachty and Drake where
- 27:47Speaker 1: they point at the computer and they'd be like, oh.
- 27:51Speaker 1: That's how I felt when I got there.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I was like, oh, New Orleans.
- 27:54Speaker 2: This explains why you're like this.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I get why we decided to send them over there.
- 27:59Speaker 4: And I know that new Orleans has like some, like
- 28:03Speaker 4: they claim France.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Does France claim new Orleans in any way?
- 28:08Speaker 4: Like, do, are they excited about the saints coming?
- 28:11Speaker 3: Well, They got other things going on.
- 28:14Speaker 4: But generally, do they care that New Orleans is coming
- 28:17Speaker 4: to France?
- 28:19Speaker 2: That's a great question.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Do French people go to vacation in New Orleans because
- 28:23Speaker 1: they feel like they just got to?
- 28:25Speaker 4: Or at least think about New Orleans as Paris in America,
- 28:29Speaker 4: in the same way that New Orleans thinks of themselves
- 28:33Speaker 4: as somewhat tied to France.
- 28:33Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I wonder what the French feel like about that. Because
- 28:36Speaker 1: as I've learned in my travels to different places, have
- 28:40Speaker 1: different places that they think of as, like, the place
- 28:42Speaker 1: to go. So, like, for example, I was told that
- 28:45Speaker 1: for Hawaiians, Vegas, like, Vegas is the thing that's nothing
- 28:48Speaker 1: like them. So they, like, they love to go to
- 28:51Speaker 1: Las Vegas. For whatever reason, I learned in Athens that they, like,
- 28:57Speaker 1: really have fantasies about Cuba or, like, Latin America. Like,
- 29:02Speaker 1: the idea of, like, you got to, I hope one
- 29:05Speaker 1: day I can go to Latin America.
- 29:07Speaker 3: I wonder what that, I mean, it was an old
- 29:09Speaker 3: movie or something? Oh, okay, never mind. Never mind.
- 29:15Speaker 1: If I had to guess, I know a lot of
- 29:17Speaker 1: cats that fantasize about Latin America.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Let me tell you why.
- 29:21Speaker 1: But there's something, I forget, the tour guide gave me
- 29:23Speaker 1: some explanation about something that happened culturally or whatever, but like,
- 29:26Speaker 1: that's their place. I don't know what it is for
- 29:28Speaker 1: the French. I don't know how they would feel like
- 29:30Speaker 1: if they showed up to New Orleans, they would see,
- 29:32Speaker 1: it's like this, but not quite like this.
- 29:36Speaker 2: But, For those of you who don't watch the news.
- 29:41Speaker 1: It's wild in their streets over there they protesting strong
- 29:46Speaker 1: whoever told us as Americans that the French were a
- 29:48Speaker 1: bunch of cowards nah they be ready to take it
- 29:52Speaker 1: to the streets and these kids like students out there
- 29:55Speaker 1: like school ain't good enough taking that shit to the streets.
- 30:00Speaker 2: No, I shouldn't make that.
- 30:02Speaker 3: I shouldn't. I shouldn't.
- 30:03Speaker 2: I shouldn't say that.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I don't think I should say that. Yeah, I don't know.
- 30:11Speaker 4: If you were that hesitant, I know that is a no-go.
- 30:16Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 30:18Speaker 1: The reason I was thinking it was I just seen
- 30:21Speaker 1: a link with Nicole Hannah-Jones talking to whoever the school
- 30:26Speaker 1: band is for the city about you going to do
- 30:28Speaker 1: something about this segregation, this, that, and the third.
- 30:31Speaker 2: We're over there in France. Nicole Hannah-Jones' daughter and all her.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Friends would have been in the streets ready to make
- 30:37Speaker 1: it happen.
- 30:37Speaker 3: France is different. They don't play.
- 30:39Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels like every couple of years they in
- 30:42Speaker 4: the streets for something. And to your point, like that
- 30:44Speaker 4: movie V for Vendetta, like that feels to me like
- 30:47Speaker 4: a very French movie where it's like, oh, we're in
- 30:50Speaker 4: the streets.
- 30:51Speaker 3: We're mask on. What are you raising the prices on? What?
- 30:54Speaker 3: One more tax? We're in the streets. We're mask on.
- 30:57Speaker 4: We're going to have them colorful smoke grenades. It's going
- 30:59Speaker 4: to be, it's going to be something. It's not tear gas.
- 31:03Speaker 4: That's just us smoking this shit out.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Hey, you ever been to Versailles? Nah.
- 31:06Speaker 2: All right.
- 31:07Speaker 1: I went to Versailles this summer. And I got up
- 31:11Speaker 1: in there and I was like, yep, some of y'all
- 31:14Speaker 1: had to die.
- 31:15Speaker 2: It took forever.
- 31:19Speaker 1: A couple of minutes inside there to be like, yeah, some.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Of y'all had to die. This is absurd. This is preposterous.
- 31:26Speaker 3: They would not stand for what we stand for.
- 31:28Speaker 4: No, no.
- 31:29Speaker 3: They would not stand for it.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Let me tell you, in the Olympics, where they had
- 31:32Speaker 1: that part during the opening ceremonies, where they had the
- 31:36Speaker 1: headless Marie Antoinettes, and that was them making sure, they
- 31:39Speaker 1: make sure the people in charge understand, we have done
- 31:42Speaker 1: it before.
- 31:44Speaker 2: And we will do it again. Bruce Bowen. We had
- 31:48Speaker 2: Bruce Bowen all here once.
- 31:49Speaker 1: And Bruce Bowen played in France when he first hit
- 31:53Speaker 1: the pros.
- 31:53Speaker 2: He played in L'Eau, France. And he said that day one,
- 31:57Speaker 2: they was in the streets.
- 31:58Speaker 3: The first day he got there, they was in the
- 32:00Speaker 3: streets about something.
- 32:01Speaker 2: And now the NFL. You think they're going to show
- 32:04Speaker 2: any camera shots of them folks in the streets?
- 32:07Speaker 1: You think they're going to bring the ruckus to the stadium?
- 32:09Speaker 2: Because I think I thought Boomer Esiason made that point.
- 32:11Speaker 3: He's right.
- 32:12Speaker 1: If I was with the cause, they brought hands up,
- 32:14Speaker 1: don't shoot to the dome in St. Louis.
- 32:17Speaker 3: To the inside of it. I.
- 32:21Speaker 3: I don't see why they wouldn't.
- 32:23Speaker 7: Well, I mean, they may not be allowed to, but
- 32:25Speaker 7: I think, again, you're more exposed to French culture than
- 32:30Speaker 7: I am, but I don't get the sense that they
- 32:33Speaker 7: police be regulating as aggressively as I police regulate because
- 32:37Speaker 7: they not letting them nowhere near.
- 32:38Speaker 3: The Super Bowl.
- 32:41Speaker 4: So that's on American soil. I don't know what they're
- 32:42Speaker 4: going to do over there in France. I don't know
- 32:45Speaker 4: if we just come over there and act like.
- 32:46Speaker 3: It's our soil or what. But here's the thing, though.
- 32:48Speaker 3: This ain't the Super Bowl. Right. This is just an event. Yeah,
- 32:52Speaker 3: but I mean, it's a big event. I feel like.
- 32:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's a big event.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I hear you.
- 32:56Speaker 3: But again, it's just not the Super Bowl. That's true.
- 32:58Speaker 2: That's all I'm saying.
- 32:59Speaker 3: That's true.
- 33:00Speaker 1: No, but the NFL Network, they're going to be showing
- 33:03Speaker 1: footage from the summer. They might show footage from the Olympics.
- 33:07Speaker 1: They're going to be showing people eating crepes.
- 33:11Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? They're going to be showing
- 33:12Speaker 3: them folks outside. They ain't even going to show them
- 33:14Speaker 3: smoking those cigarettes.
- 33:15Speaker 2: They're going to be out there drinking their coffee, all
- 33:18Speaker 2: that stuff outside.
- 33:19Speaker 4: They ain't nothing happening. They're going to show the Eiffel
- 33:22Speaker 4: Tower 10 times. But that'd be so dope if they
- 33:24Speaker 4: cut the commercial break instead of the Eiffel Tower. It's
- 33:27Speaker 4: just them people with them black masks going, getting ruckus.
- 33:30Speaker 4: What if they play that music going into commercial? Like,
- 33:33Speaker 4: this is live international series from France. They just out
- 33:36Speaker 4: there chanting some shit in French.
- 33:38Speaker 3: Right. How many times y'all going to show us the
- 33:40Speaker 3: Mona Lisa?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Right? Like, imagine your job, your job at the NFL
- 33:45Speaker 1: Network is to get there a couple days early, go
- 33:47Speaker 1: get us some drone shots.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Go get us some stuff that we can throw in
- 33:50Speaker 2: the package. Nah, nah, nah.
- 33:54Speaker 3: That's a pretty good job, actually.
- 33:55Speaker 4: I get to go there early, and all I got
- 33:57Speaker 4: to do is record the Eiffel Tower and get out
- 34:01Speaker 4: of here, get some pictures of that Walda.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And, and, and, hey, man, you walk around with a camera,
- 34:08Speaker 1: you can turn that into all kinds of things.
- 34:12Speaker 3: That's what I hear.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Well, this is going to be a little dark.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:17Speaker 1: But I was reading a book, Edna Buchanan, she worked
- 34:24Speaker 1: for the Miami Herald for many years, but she wrote
- 34:26Speaker 1: a lot of crime books, and she wrote a kind
- 34:28Speaker 1: of memoir of sorts of her time in Miami, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: she was talking about some dude, and it's dark because
- 34:34Speaker 1: he turned out to be a serial killer, but she
- 34:37Speaker 1: made the point about him that he used to do
- 34:39Speaker 1: all kinds of stuff to get women. I can't remember
- 34:43Speaker 1: if it was scams or exactly what, but anyway. He
- 34:46Speaker 1: gave up all those other things that he was trying
- 34:48Speaker 1: to do because he figured out nothing worked better than
- 34:50Speaker 1: a camera. He just had to pull up and be like, hey,
- 34:54Speaker 1: I would love to photograph you. And it was like,
- 34:56Speaker 1: worked every time. So you over there in France and
- 35:00Speaker 1: you got professional cameras. I'm saying that you could use
- 35:06Speaker 1: that for different reasons. Not for the reason that cat
- 35:09Speaker 1: was doing it.
- 35:10Speaker 3: I got you.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I got you. He abused a good thing. You know
- 35:14Speaker 2: what I'm saying?
- 35:16Speaker 3: I think that for a lot of guys, the icebreaker
- 35:18Speaker 3: is the hardest part.
- 35:19Speaker 1: Yes.
- 35:20Speaker 4: And that camera is an automatic icebreaker. Because you don't
- 35:23Speaker 4: know what to say. You can't just walk up on
- 35:25Speaker 4: somebody and say, hi, my name is Bob.
- 35:27Speaker 3: But if you're like.
- 35:29Speaker 4: hey, we're shooting some stuff. Are you comfortable with this
- 35:31Speaker 4: going down? You shoot it like, yeah, I want to
- 35:32Speaker 4: make sure I get you this footage.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I feel like the camera's number one. Dog
- 35:38Speaker 2: is number two.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Well, dog, man.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Well, see, no, I see the dog is number two
- 35:43Speaker 1: because you can use the camera to warm up somebody
- 35:46Speaker 1: who perhaps was not necessarily interested. Right.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Right. You can't just.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Walk up with the dog. That's not a, the dog
- 35:53Speaker 1: can take you a lot of places. Yeah. Right.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Number three, sneaky one.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Really?
- 36:02Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I remember we went to Daytona when Daytona was a thing. Yeah.
- 36:06Speaker 1: We went to Daytona in 99, and one of the
- 36:08Speaker 1: homies had snake. Snake work every time. They'd be scared
- 36:11Speaker 1: of the snake.
- 36:12Speaker 2: That's the thing. The snake work, whether they're interested or not.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Right? Because if they're like, oh, no. Now, some people
- 36:17Speaker 1: are just going to be revolted by the snake.
- 36:19Speaker 2: But I watched. It was cash money. It shouldn't be
- 36:23Speaker 2: that easy. A lot of those things just shouldn't be
- 36:26Speaker 2: that easy.
- 36:27Speaker 3: I mean, they.
- 36:28Speaker 4: Say that you can bond better in those high-stress situations.
- 36:33Speaker 4: And so you bring that snake around, some people feel
- 36:36Speaker 4: very stressed. I would have said I would doubt the dog,
- 36:39Speaker 4: but I feel like the dog is a culturally specific experience.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Very true.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Because back when I had a dog, the people who
- 36:47Speaker 4: came up to me they never had done their edges
- 36:50Speaker 4: before let me say that they were not they come
- 36:53Speaker 4: oh he's a cutie baby and it wasn't always necessarily
- 36:56Speaker 4: like looking to open the door for me it was
- 36:59Speaker 4: like oh i'm really here for the dog why are
- 37:01Speaker 4: you here i.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Tell you what's funny my so my brother and i live.
- 37:04Speaker 1: In the same neighborhood my brother and his wife they
- 37:06Speaker 1: live a few blocks away from me and whenever i'm
- 37:09Speaker 1: walking streets my brother They ain't no people, man. They
- 37:12Speaker 1: all kind of, hey, such and such, they can tell
- 37:14Speaker 1: you things about people in the neighborhood, so forth and
- 37:16Speaker 1: so on, da, da, da, right? I'm proud of myself
- 37:18Speaker 1: that I know three people's names in my own building.
- 37:19Speaker 1: They be knowing people in the street. And my brother
- 37:22Speaker 1: is a more, he's more extroverted than I am, right?
- 37:27Speaker 2: I'd say that. He's more likely to wind up talking
- 37:29Speaker 2: to strangers. But he explained to me, dude, it's the
- 37:31Speaker 2: dog part.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Like, once you become part of that, everybody just kind
- 37:35Speaker 1: of bounce around.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Like, Ryan talks about that at the kid park, you know?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I'd just be out there for dolo. You know what
- 37:43Speaker 3: I'm saying? I look like I am a wild card.
- 37:49Speaker 3: It's absolutely true.
- 37:51Speaker 1: If you are a man without a cuddly dog or
- 37:54Speaker 1: a woman to vouch, you are a wild card. I
- 37:59Speaker 1: was watching, when I came in, it was on Instagram.
- 38:01Speaker 1: It was a comedy bit from, I forget her name,
- 38:03Speaker 1: but both her names start with J. She's on Abbott Elementary.
- 38:06Speaker 1: And she was just talking about just how, like, guys,
- 38:08Speaker 1: you know you're dangerous, right? Like, you have those guns, like,
- 38:12Speaker 1: for each other. You know, you do understand this. She's like,
- 38:15Speaker 1: you know, when I go outside, nobody's worried about the
- 38:17Speaker 1: boogie woman. The boogie woman sounds like fun. You worried
- 38:21Speaker 1: about the boogie man.
- 38:22Speaker 3: That's a quality bit.
- 38:23Speaker 4: It's something that I also notice pretty routinely, and it's like,
- 38:27Speaker 4: once you go out of a certain age range, people
- 38:30Speaker 4: aren't scared of you anymore.
- 38:31Speaker 3: So like, I would dress differently in order.
- 38:35Speaker 4: To make sure people knew, like depending on where I
- 38:37Speaker 4: was going or what I was doing, like the concept
- 38:39Speaker 4: was like, all right, I'm cool, you ain't gotta worry.
- 38:42Speaker 4: This is my uniform to let you know that you
- 38:44Speaker 4: ain't gotta worry. And now it's a different type of
- 38:47Speaker 4: worry because it's like he might be crazy. Because you
- 38:50Speaker 4: can't be a 40-year-old man walking the streets doing work
- 38:53Speaker 4: hours in sweats.
- 38:55Speaker 3: What you out here with no dog or nothing? What
- 38:57Speaker 3: you out here doing?
- 38:58Speaker 2: Hey, man, none of us have earned the benefit of
- 39:00Speaker 2: the doubt, unfortunately.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Agreed.
- 39:01Speaker 1: The other homies have messed it up, right? None of
- 39:05Speaker 1: us have earned the benefit. That is one thing that
- 39:08Speaker 1: social media and all these movements of the years have
- 39:10Speaker 1: taught us is bad. I understand that we got to
- 39:13Speaker 1: be careful and I do think there's something to be
- 39:16Speaker 1: said about the idea of promoting the idea that there's
- 39:20Speaker 1: something inherently wrong about masculinity or inherently wrong with men
- 39:25Speaker 1: and all of those things, right? I do agree that
- 39:28Speaker 1: we kind of need to be careful of the messaging
- 39:30Speaker 1: while also understanding we are a menace.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Bit one, gumbie one. We got to do better.
- 39:37Speaker 4: I mean, I think the thin line that we have
- 39:40Speaker 4: to walk is like. don't talk bad about men, but
- 39:44Speaker 4: understand why women act the.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Way they act. It's like, that's the two different things.
- 39:48Speaker 3: It's like, we got, we got some making up to do.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Things I used to assume were racism. I just
- 39:53Speaker 2: can't do anymore.
- 39:55Speaker 6: Boom.
- 39:55Speaker 3: That's exactly right. That's exactly right.
- 39:57Speaker 4: I was the same way where it was like, like
- 40:01Speaker 4: nah she just.
- 40:02Speaker 3: A woman and like the amount of.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Phony smiles that I throw out cause like I'm in
- 40:06Speaker 4: New York a couple times a week walking around in
- 40:08Speaker 4: Soho the amount of phony smiles and I work late
- 40:11Speaker 4: some nights I'm walking through the streets and women are
- 40:14Speaker 4: also going from place to place at midnight and I'm
- 40:16Speaker 4: coming from work to my hotel the aggressiveness that I
- 40:20Speaker 4: smile at these people because I look, I know, I
- 40:23Speaker 4: know that ain't nobody out at this hour because I've
- 40:25Speaker 4: already changed out of my suit. Ain't nobody out at
- 40:27Speaker 4: this hour dressed like I'm dressed that you want to
- 40:29Speaker 4: be because it ain't worth.
- 40:30Speaker 3: The risk to you.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it ain't worth the risk.
- 40:33Speaker 3: I feel you. Todo es posible. If they cross the street,
- 40:37Speaker 3: I don't think twice. Go right ahead, ma'am. Nope, nope, nope.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Do what you got to do. By all means. You know,
- 40:42Speaker 3: I hope you have a nice night.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:44Speaker 3: I get it. I get it. Bless you, sister. Exactly.
- 40:48Speaker 3: That's where you got to start taking it to.
- 40:51Speaker 2: And that's the thing.
- 40:52Speaker 1: With black women, we got that means of, like, that's
- 40:55Speaker 1: the real, like, I see you, sister. Right? Yeah. We
- 40:58Speaker 1: ain't got no way to talk to white women to
- 41:00Speaker 1: put them at ease in that same way.
- 41:02Speaker 2: We ain't got it, man. We just got to be like, hey, man,
- 41:04Speaker 2: I don't know. Look, could be anything. I don't know.
- 41:07Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 41:08Speaker 1: You know, I ain't lived her life. Like, that's the
- 41:10Speaker 1: thing I find that I say about women in a
- 41:12Speaker 1: lot of ways. Hey, man, I ain't lived her life.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:14Speaker 4: And I think that taking that extra precaution, if it's fair,
- 41:18Speaker 4: I was trying to think of an analogy.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Like, where would I be that.
- 41:22Speaker 4: I feel like I have to be, like, extra safe
- 41:25Speaker 4: and I would understand, like, assuming something about someone.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:29Speaker 3: But it's just.
- 41:30Speaker 4: I think that Chappelle did a bit about driving on
- 41:33Speaker 4: the subway with money with a briefcase full of money.
- 41:36Speaker 3: That was the most, that was.
- 41:38Speaker 4: The most excellent and illuminating thing about what it feels
- 41:41Speaker 4: like to be a woman, because it's the same thing
- 41:43Speaker 4: is true.
- 41:43Speaker 3: If everybody knew.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I had $ 10, 000 cash in my pocket, I will be
- 41:48Speaker 4: scared of everybody.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes.
- 41:51Speaker 1: And everybody knows it's how it works by definition. You
- 41:57Speaker 1: walk it around with $ 10, 000.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Like it is. Okay. Moving on.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Oddly feminist segment. It was. It was. It was.
- 42:10Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw this story. Make sure
- 42:13Speaker 1: I get the names right. A lot going on there
- 42:15Speaker 1: with Tennessee Titans. And they released, his name is Jordan Elliott.
- 42:21Speaker 1: He's a defensive tackle. He's a defensive lineman, which is
- 42:25Speaker 1: a topic that we have brought up on this show.
- 42:27Speaker 1: And it's somewhere germane to where this story is going.
- 42:30Speaker 1: he got into it with J.C. Latham, who was an
- 42:34Speaker 1: offensive lineman at practice. Well, okay, let me start this.
- 42:38Speaker 1: They told us that he was off the team and
- 42:40Speaker 1: there was an incident on Thursday. On Tuesday, they said,
- 42:43Speaker 1: is this it on Thursday? And so, you know, he's
- 42:45Speaker 1: not going to be around no more. And everyone's like, huh,
- 42:47Speaker 1: I wonder what that incident was. And apparently, my man's
- 42:52Speaker 1: been going through some things, but he got into it
- 42:54Speaker 1: with J.C. Latham at practice and he left practice but
- 43:01Speaker 1: he wanted to return with that thang. And I want
- 43:09Speaker 1: to make sure I get proper credit. Timmy Horn. No, no,
- 43:13Speaker 1: Timmy Horn got the game day elevation.
- 43:14Speaker 2: My fault.
- 43:15Speaker 1: This article does not have the name of the teammate
- 43:17Speaker 1: that stopped him in the parking lot and talked him down.
- 43:22Speaker 1: It's a good thing they talked him down. He still
- 43:24Speaker 1: had to. I wonder if a good player did that, Dominique.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Do you think he gets to keep his job? Let
- 43:31Speaker 1: me see how I can answer this. If Jalen Carter
- 43:36Speaker 1: tried to go get the tool and come back into
- 43:38Speaker 1: the parking lot.
- 43:40Speaker 4: I'm just trying to be careful with how I answer
- 43:42Speaker 4: this to make sure I could say that.
- 43:50Speaker 3: It would be fine.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Hypothetically.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Hypothetically.
- 43:54Speaker 4: If something like this may have ever happened in a
- 43:57Speaker 4: situation with a very talented player, I could say that
- 44:01Speaker 4: it's more than likely that nobody ever hears about it
- 44:06Speaker 4: and nothing ever happens.
- 44:07Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Possibly. I'm guessing.
- 44:10Speaker 2: Got you.
- 44:10Speaker 3: Complete hypothetical.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Sticking in the hypothetical realm. It was John Franklin Myers
- 44:17Speaker 1: who stopped him.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Hero.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Brother, look here.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I'll never forget when Javon Belcher, for the Chiefs, who had,
- 44:29Speaker 1: at his home, killed his wife. I can't remember if
- 44:31Speaker 1: it was his wife, but killed his woman, killed his kid.
- 44:35Speaker 1: Basically came to the facility to say goodbye to the
- 44:38Speaker 1: coaches before he killed himself, which he ultimately did. And
- 44:41Speaker 1: Romeo Cornell went out there to talk to him and
- 44:45Speaker 1: try to talk him down and everything else. And I
- 44:46Speaker 1: have I don't care what you think about Romeo as
- 44:50Speaker 1: any kind of head coach, whatever it was that I've
- 44:53Speaker 1: always looked at. That is like, Hey man, you went
- 44:55Speaker 1: out there with that dude that had nothing to lose.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And that could have been, that could have been the
- 44:59Speaker 1: end for you. And you went out there and tried
- 45:01Speaker 1: to do something like shout out to you. And John
- 45:04Speaker 1: Franklin Myers is not the same situation. Cause shout out
- 45:07Speaker 1: to him. Cause let me tell you something. When I'm
- 45:09Speaker 1: there and when buddy went to the parking lot and look,
- 45:12Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 45:13Speaker 3: All right.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Many of us listening to this, have been in a
- 45:19Speaker 1: circumstance where there was a scuffle, and then the scuffle
- 45:22Speaker 1: was stopped, and then somebody went to the parking lot.
- 45:26Speaker 1: And it's very difficult to explain, but there's just a
- 45:29Speaker 1: feeling in the air, this motherfucker about to come back
- 45:32Speaker 1: and shoot up the spot. And when you have that
- 45:36Speaker 1: feeling in the air, when that guy goes to the
- 45:38Speaker 1: parking lot, you go to the parking lot too.
- 45:41Speaker 2: But you don't follow him to his car.
- 45:43Speaker 3: You go to your car and you depart. Yeah.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I would never have tried to walk.
- 45:52Speaker 3: Hey, hey, brother.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Hey, brother, what's going on, man? Let me talk to
- 45:54Speaker 2: you for a second.
- 45:55Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 45:55Speaker 2: In fact, I'm trying to figure out how I was
- 45:57Speaker 2: only one person.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:59Speaker 4: You know how it was only one person. Everybody else
- 46:01Speaker 4: was like, nah. I mean, I'm yelling, you ain't got
- 46:05Speaker 4: to do this, bro. As I'm scooting. That's what I'm saying.
- 46:09Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 46:09Speaker 1: If he go come back to here, I don't know
- 46:12Speaker 1: how we not all going.
- 46:13Speaker 3: To the there.
- 46:15Speaker 4: When the type of person who believes that the game ain't.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Over at the end of regulation... Like, whatever our altercation is, like,
- 46:26Speaker 3: it's over. Let's shake hands and go to our locker room.
- 46:29Speaker 4: He was like, nah, it's overtime, no matter what.
- 46:33Speaker 2: He was like, it actually hasn't started yet.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Fair point.
- 46:37Speaker 2: There's nothing quite like when somebody breaks up the fight.
- 46:40Speaker 3: Nah, it's cool. It's cool. Nah, nah, nah.
- 46:42Speaker 2: I'm fine.
- 46:43Speaker 3: You know what?
- 46:44Speaker 2: Let's get out of here and get a little pep
- 46:45Speaker 2: in they step.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Oh, no. This is not over at all.
- 46:49Speaker 2: This is not at all what I thought it was.
- 46:53Speaker 4: I've thought about this before, and I'm not that guy.
- 46:59Speaker 4: I've been in altercations. I don't know how people maintain
- 47:03Speaker 4: that level of, like, fury.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 47:07Speaker 3: Right? Because, like, I'm mad, I'm mad, I'm mad.
- 47:09Speaker 4: The time it takes me to run here and go
- 47:12Speaker 4: back or whatever, like, by then, I'm.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Like, all right, well... We figured some things out. Like,
- 47:16Speaker 3: I would have cooled off.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Like, if I could see someone in the moment, right
- 47:20Speaker 4: in the moment, you got something on you, I could
- 47:22Speaker 4: understand getting high to that point where you lose it.
- 47:25Speaker 3: But I, not me, I can't go all the way.
- 47:27Speaker 3: I'll start thinking about repercussions at that point.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Dominique, what position did you play?
- 47:31Speaker 3: Exactly, right?
- 47:32Speaker 4: I was a cornerback. I was out in the suburbs.
- 47:41Speaker 4: I am not from the trenches. I did not play
- 47:43Speaker 4: in the trenches. I don't have a trench mentality, which
- 47:47Speaker 4: they do in there.
- 47:47Speaker 1: And once again, this is a conflict between a defensive
- 47:49Speaker 1: lineman and an offensive lineman.
- 47:51Speaker 2: And the offensive lineman is like, oh, what got into
- 47:53Speaker 2: that guy?
- 47:53Speaker 1: Like across the board, everybody's kind of like, I mean,
- 47:56Speaker 1: it really wasn't that deep.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Can you believe that when you.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Put out that clip your show put out that clip
- 48:02Speaker 4: of me talking about like jokingly but in a place
- 48:05Speaker 4: of truth talking about the differences in these positions i
- 48:08Speaker 4: got some pushback people's like you don't you know not
- 48:12Speaker 4: like that this it's like look yeah i'm generalizing but
- 48:15Speaker 4: more often than not i know what i've been dealing
- 48:18Speaker 4: with i've been around this.
- 48:19Speaker 2: You're like dude you don't even go to this school
- 48:21Speaker 2: right right like you're like you don't even go here
- 48:25Speaker 2: you know Last thing before we get out of here.
- 48:29Speaker 3: You are a.
- 48:30Speaker 2: Big Jalen Den.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Jaden. Den.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 48:34Speaker 1: See, that other one done come in and messed everything up.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You're a Jaden Daniels guy, and all my film guys
- 48:39Speaker 1: love him. All you guys that are about to process
- 48:42Speaker 1: say he is excellent. The question of him, obviously, is durability.
- 48:45Speaker 1: But can that boy not count? How did this happen again?
- 48:50Speaker 1: I don't know whose fault it is, and it's not entirely.
- 48:52Speaker 1: Maybe it's partially on everybody. I think we would agree.
- 48:58Speaker 1: But the throwaway on fourth down to me was kind
- 49:02Speaker 1: of a come on. You got like nobody out here counting. I.
- 49:08Speaker 4: So the thing about the thing about a lot of
- 49:11Speaker 4: these recent decisions for them is we get caught up
- 49:14Speaker 4: in trying to divide up the blame when I think
- 49:16Speaker 4: we need to isolate each conversation and put all the blame.
- 49:20Speaker 3: On everybody.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Since you brought up Jaden, and I think he's the
- 49:23Speaker 4: most relevant one because I think those other two guys
- 49:26Speaker 4: probably not going to be in the roles anymore going forward. So, like,
- 49:30Speaker 4: all right, Dan Quinn blew it. He made mistakes. He
- 49:32Speaker 4: didn't understand.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I don't care. Dan Quinn not going to be a
- 49:34Speaker 3: head coach anymore. Like, he's done.
- 49:37Speaker 4: And same thing, Blau, the offensive coordinator, he's going to
- 49:40Speaker 4: have to take a step back and he work his
- 49:41Speaker 4: way back up to being an offensive coordinator again soon.
- 49:44Speaker 4: The one person who is a superstar and will continue
- 49:47Speaker 4: to be a superstar who had really inexplicable, like... late
- 49:52Speaker 4: game or important situations. Cause the first one wasn't late game,
- 49:55Speaker 4: but he has some late game errors also, but who's
- 49:58Speaker 4: had these inexplicable mistakes. Yeah. It's, it's Jaden Daniels and
- 50:03Speaker 4: it matters because he's going to keep finding himself in
- 50:06Speaker 4: these situations. If you notice, we give a lot of
- 50:08Speaker 4: credit to Purdy and he deserves it. And Kyle Shanahan
- 50:11Speaker 4: for functioning a high functioning offense, despite all these injuries.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels don't got nobody.
- 50:17Speaker 4: They said his offensive line was inoperable during training camp
- 50:20Speaker 4: after Laramie Tunstall got hurt, and then.
- 50:22Speaker 3: More guys got hurt after that. In the course of this.
- 50:25Speaker 4: Game, they lost Trelon, Burks, and Scary Terry. Guess what
- 50:29Speaker 4: Jayden did? Kept moving that thing down the field. Like,
- 50:32Speaker 4: he's an excellent quarterback, but.
- 50:35Speaker 5: He has some tough, tough, tough processing in those important
- 50:40Speaker 5: like game situations, which the problem is the difference between
- 50:43Speaker 5: like really good, great quarterbacks is the ones who take
- 50:47Speaker 5: advantage of those situations.
- 50:49Speaker 4: Those are the ones that are like legendary. And he
- 50:51Speaker 4: has the ability to be that if he can stay
- 50:53Speaker 4: healthy and he could figure out like what down it
- 50:56Speaker 4: is and what decisions to make on those now.
- 50:58Speaker 3: All right.
- 50:58Speaker 1: So I hate to be this guy, what guy, this guy, however,
- 51:04Speaker 1: I still don't get how this didn't happen two weeks
- 51:06Speaker 1: in a row and ain't nobody got fired. It can't, like,
- 51:09Speaker 1: it was highly, this last one on national television. But
- 51:12Speaker 1: these were two highly embarrassing, indefensibly bad endings. And I
- 51:16Speaker 1: am shocked that no one seems to have, at the
- 51:19Speaker 1: very least, got to pay a fine.
- 51:22Speaker 3: Like, you know, like James, let me tell you this.
- 51:24Speaker 1: If James Brown ran that franchise, it'd have been a
- 51:27Speaker 1: new drummer in this motherfucker.
- 51:28Speaker 3: I just don't, I just, I just, you know.
- 51:31Speaker 5: Pawns!
- 51:32Speaker 3: I just don't understand. I'm nobody.
- 51:35Speaker 4: Despite the success of James Brown, I'm not sure that's
- 51:38Speaker 4: the barometer I would use to make my decision.
- 51:41Speaker 3: You know what, James? You know what?
- 51:42Speaker 2: That was a buttoned-up operation over there, boy.
- 51:44Speaker 1: Tight!
- 51:44Speaker 3: I tell you this, it wouldn't have happened twice. I
- 51:46Speaker 3: know that much.
- 51:47Speaker 1: I would....
- 51:59Speaker 4: I guess it's two questions for me is you expect
- 52:03Speaker 4: someone to go because that's how we normally do things.
- 52:06Speaker 4: And like, you think that that's fair for somebody to
- 52:08Speaker 4: pay the consequences, but also like, do you think that
- 52:11Speaker 4: makes you better? And if the people who are responsible,
- 52:15Speaker 4: because I get the sense that the, uh, it feels
- 52:19Speaker 4: like Dan Quinn is not involved in the offense very
- 52:22Speaker 4: much at all. And also he handed off the defense
- 52:24Speaker 4: pretty much to Durante Jones and he's kind of graduated
- 52:27Speaker 4: to the CEO situation.
- 52:29Speaker 3: And like, who are you firing him?
- 52:31Speaker 4: Because he hired someone who couldn't function in that situation.
- 52:36Speaker 4: We're going back to the Giants tie. because it doesn't
- 52:40Speaker 4: seem like he was involved in that communications at all.
- 52:43Speaker 4: So you're firing him because the guy he hired or
- 52:45Speaker 4: because the quarterback who's played football his whole life, who
- 52:48Speaker 4: should understand this scenario did something absurd.
- 52:51Speaker 3: And so like, I'm not saying that you shouldn't, but,
- 52:54Speaker 3: Who then steps up?
- 52:56Speaker 4: Are you better off after that?
- 52:58Speaker 3: And so I'm with you. And maybe it's just, we
- 53:00Speaker 3: got to pay the consequences.
- 53:02Speaker 1: You can't have it two weeks in a row.
- 53:05Speaker 3: That's all I'm saying. Two weeks in a row.
- 53:08Speaker 1: I throw this other part out here and I'm kind
- 53:10Speaker 1: of spitballing here. So I'm curious your thoughts.
- 53:14Speaker 2: It feels like the coaches more than ever, Like, we're
- 53:19Speaker 2: a long way removed from this, but I think there's
- 53:22Speaker 2: some people that might be young enough listening to this
- 53:24Speaker 2: that don't know that quarterbacks used to call all their
- 53:26Speaker 2: own plays, which is not something they should have done,
- 53:30Speaker 2: to be clear. But the quarterback used to be the
- 53:33Speaker 2: offensive coach, basically. It was, like, literally coach on the field.
- 53:36Speaker 2: That's what it was.
- 53:37Speaker 1: And the process is dialed back, back, back, and now
- 53:40Speaker 1: you got it to where they can get in their ears.
- 53:43Speaker 1: and tell like Sean McVay basically telling Jared Goff exactly
- 53:46Speaker 1: what to do until the sound goes off in the
- 53:48Speaker 1: helmet and the coach is almost the quarterback at this point.
- 53:51Speaker 1: The way the general managers in baseball are now the managers.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Like it's trickled all the way down. And I wonder
- 53:56Speaker 1: if to a degree, since coaches in so many ways
- 54:00Speaker 1: have held these quarterbacks' hands in the ways they have,
- 54:03Speaker 1: does that lead to perhaps in these moments where decisions
- 54:07Speaker 1: need to be made like that, that they are not
- 54:09Speaker 1: properly trained To jump up and do the thing.
- 54:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:13Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not asking rhetorically just to be clear.
- 54:16Speaker 4: I think that that's a reasonable theory. However, there's something,
- 54:25Speaker 4: some level of awareness is like, I understand we don't
- 54:29Speaker 4: read as a society nearly as much as we did
- 54:32Speaker 4: in the past.
- 54:34Speaker 3: But I'm going to need you to be able to read. Right? So, like,
- 54:38Speaker 3: I'm with you. I understand. Because you have that support.
- 54:43Speaker 3: And that's fine.
- 54:43Speaker 4: Like, my memory and all of our memories are a
- 54:46Speaker 4: little bit worse because we can look stuff up.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Like, my sense of direction, putrid.
- 54:51Speaker 4: My dad could have got us anywhere in this damn
- 54:53Speaker 4: country where... without a map, I can't get to places
- 54:58Speaker 4: I go all the time because I'm dependent on my GPS.
- 55:01Speaker 4: Google knows where I am all the damn time. And
- 55:04Speaker 4: so like, I understand that this, the same phenomenon could
- 55:07Speaker 4: be happening in their heads. However, I understand how the
- 55:12Speaker 4: roads in DC work. I can get myself home. Like,
- 55:15Speaker 4: I feel like that's the same thing. It's like, it may,
- 55:18Speaker 4: it may take me twice as long as if I
- 55:20Speaker 4: had the GPS, but I'm going to get there. Eventually
- 55:22Speaker 4: there is a base level of football knowledge that your
- 55:25Speaker 4: quarterback got to have. And I love Jane Daniels. I
- 55:28Speaker 4: think he's incredible. Rooting for him is great, but I
- 55:31Speaker 4: can't lie to him. I can't, I can't stand up
- 55:34Speaker 4: here and say, this is all on the coaches. Nah, man,
- 55:37Speaker 4: you know, you can't fall down. You know you have
- 55:40Speaker 4: no timeouts. You know you can't fall down. You also
- 55:42Speaker 4: should know that you can't lay there lifeless.
- 55:45Speaker 3: For three seconds. That's tough. You know on fourth down,
- 55:48Speaker 3: might as well take a shot.
- 55:49Speaker 4: And we see quarterbacks do this because they want to
- 55:51Speaker 4: save their stats sometimes where they throw it out of
- 55:53Speaker 4: bounds on an important situation. I don't think that's what
- 55:56Speaker 4: he was doing because I was doing that game like
- 55:58Speaker 4: you mentioned on the playbook with– Brian Hoyer and Brian
- 56:02Speaker 4: Hoyer made the point that like what you do in
- 56:04Speaker 4: that situation is you just rifle it at somebody like
- 56:07Speaker 4: throw it so hard that nobody can catch it you
- 56:09Speaker 4: make it a flag because you know we're not gonna
- 56:12Speaker 4: catch it if anybody if you throw it hard as
- 56:14Speaker 4: shit only person that might catch is the person who's
- 56:16Speaker 4: looking at you who catches for a living the other
- 56:19Speaker 4: guys it's gonna be incomplete and also if it's intercepted
- 56:22Speaker 4: then you tackle them and they're still backed up that
- 56:25Speaker 4: one was like half situation so it didn't matter nearly
- 56:28Speaker 4: as much but it was a big one too.
- 56:30Speaker 1: Jayden Daniels needed to be glad Ryan Fitzpatrick wasn't working
- 56:32Speaker 1: that game, boy. Like I said, say you wouldn't be
- 56:36Speaker 1: at Ryan Fitzpatrick.
- 56:37Speaker 2: Who was that that he was crushing? Bo Nix.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Bo Nix.
- 56:41Speaker 1: For playing Cowardly Football. And Keefe to leave was like,
- 56:43Speaker 1: you don't have the right to talk about that. You
- 56:45Speaker 1: was too sorry. And I'm like, nah, nah, I disagree
- 56:47Speaker 1: on this. Ryan Fitzpatrick made a decision that, like, this
- 56:51Speaker 1: is how we do things.
- 56:52Speaker 3: That's exactly right.
- 56:53Speaker 4: The one thing you can't say about Ryan Fitzpatrick, you
- 56:55Speaker 4: may say that he wasn't successful, but you can't say he.
- 56:57Speaker 3: Played cowardly football.
- 56:59Speaker 1: No.
- 57:00Speaker 4: No. And I, yeah, to be clear, I think that
- 57:03Speaker 4: he wouldn't have said that about Jayden Daniels.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Nope. Because Bo Nix wasn't produced at all game.
- 57:08Speaker 4: Like he'd have said in this moment, Jayden Daniels made
- 57:11Speaker 4: a really dumb mistake or was cowardly. But the rest
- 57:14Speaker 4: of that game, Jay was dragging them boys around.
- 57:18Speaker 1: Terrible fact. You're not talking about this on text. And
- 57:20Speaker 1: none of us think it's his fault. Last nine starts, 0-8-1.
- 57:25Speaker 3: And sadly, the one is the most embarrassing one.
- 57:30Speaker 4: I would rather be, yeah, 0-9-1 than have that terrible one.
- 57:35Speaker 4: I'm sure Jaden Daniels wishes that Scadaboo held on to
- 57:38Speaker 4: that thing and they kicked that field goal.
- 57:40Speaker 2: That's a great point. Dominique Foxworth.
- 57:43Speaker 1: Check him out on the Dominique Foxworth Show, available on
