- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to Denver's Morning Show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: With Nina and Josh.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Mix 100.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Josh, we made it through yesterday, our big TV debut,
- 0:10Speaker 2: if you would call it.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:12Speaker 2: We were on Fox 31 yesterday with Denise Plant for
- 0:15Speaker 2: A Great Day Colorado. We had our little segment there.
- 0:17Speaker 2: We're going to post it later on today, just in
- 0:19Speaker 2: case anyone missed it. We were just there, just basically
- 0:23Speaker 2: talking about the new show and the things that we're doing,
- 0:25Speaker 2: and it was pretty cool.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Yeah, we got a little tour of everything, see how
- 0:30Speaker 4: their new station works and all the behind-the-scenes stuff.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I always think that's kind of neat because... Huge space.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It was gigantic.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Massive.
- 0:37Speaker 4: But we see them on TV all the time, but
- 0:40Speaker 4: to see the behind-the-scenes and there were so many different
- 0:43Speaker 4: makeup areas and make sure everybody looks so beautiful on TV. Yeah.
- 0:47Speaker 1: It was really fun to get the behind the scenes
- 0:48Speaker 1: and everybody was so nice there.
- 0:50Speaker 5: Yeah, most definitely.
- 0:51Speaker 2: So thank you to everyone over there at Fox 31
- 0:54Speaker 2: and Denise Plant for having us at Great Day Colorado.
- 0:58Speaker 2: So Josh, lots of rain this morning. It's been raining
- 1:01Speaker 2: since yesterday afternoon.
- 1:03Speaker 1: You know what?
- 1:03Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm going to talk about this right now.
- 1:05Speaker 4: Humans are like never satisfied. And I'm going to talk
- 1:08Speaker 4: about myself here because all I've done is complain about
- 1:11Speaker 4: how much I hate the heat. And it has been
- 1:13Speaker 4: so bad lately, right? Until I wake up this morning
- 1:17Speaker 4: and I get in my car and I'm.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Like, I'm so cold. It's so wet. I hate everything.
- 1:21Speaker 1: What's going on? Shut up.
- 1:23Speaker 4: And I noticed that while I was actively doing it
- 1:26Speaker 4: on my drive in this morning.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, hold on. I'm going to
- 1:29Speaker 1: be that person.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Colorado needs this wet rain so badly. And on top
- 1:34Speaker 4: of that, I think they're getting snow in the mountains
- 1:36Speaker 4: right now, which.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Is also what we need.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yes, we need that. In the middle of my drive in,
- 1:41Speaker 4: I was like, okay, you know what? Be thankful for today.
- 1:43Speaker 1: We have rain. It's cool out. It feels like fall.
- 1:46Speaker 1: And I love that. And I'm content and I'm happy now. Well, good.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I caught myself in the middle of a complaint and
- 1:51Speaker 1: I didn't like that.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I mean, we forget sometimes. And because it is such
- 1:55Speaker 2: a drastic change, it's been 80. It's been way too hot.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Seriously.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Up until now. And so, yeah, just throw on the
- 2:01Speaker 2: seat warmers if you got them. If not, you know,
- 2:04Speaker 2: just put on the heat. It's okay. Especially this early
- 2:08Speaker 2: in the morning. It is so much colder. I turned
- 2:10Speaker 2: both on. I have the heat warmer and my heater
- 2:12Speaker 2: on today.
- 2:13Speaker 4: When you drive in at 4 in the morning, it
- 2:15Speaker 4: is much colder than your 8 a.m.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Drive in. I'll just say that. Yeah, definitely. And the
- 2:19Speaker 1: sun's not even up yet.
- 2:20Speaker 2: No, exactly. So maybe the sun will be able to
- 2:23Speaker 2: peek out today. But I have a feeling it's going
- 2:24Speaker 2: to be all cloudy and rainy all day today.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Dreary, yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we'll see. We have so much
- 2:31Speaker 2: to catch up on on the Celebrity Quickie. Surprisingly, a
- 2:35Speaker 2: lot has happened. Well, today I thought it was Thursday.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Last Tuesday.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Yesterday was Tuesday. You poor thing. I'm going to call
- 2:42Speaker 1: you out a little bit here. You have no idea
- 2:45Speaker 1: what day it is. I don't know. You show up
- 2:47Speaker 1: and you're like, okay, Thursday. What do we got to
- 2:48Speaker 1: do today? And I'm like, I don't know.
- 2:50Speaker 2: You're like, no, no.
- 2:50Speaker 1: No, it's Wednesday. Today is Wednesday. You just looked at
- 2:53Speaker 1: me like, what are you talking about?
- 2:55Speaker 5: Yeah, my world just came crashing down.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You poor thing.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It is only Wednesday.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Oh, goodness.
- 3:02Speaker 2: That's okay, we're gonna get through it. We're at least
- 3:04Speaker 2: halfway through it. Almost halfway. Well, whether you see them
- 3:08Speaker 2: as celebrities or not, influencers are just here. They're here,
- 3:12Speaker 2: they're everywhere.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Everywhere.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Everywhere, okay. And they're not quite celebrities, but they are
- 3:20Speaker 2: constantly on our feed. We know who they are. And
- 3:23Speaker 2: maybe you know Jules LeBron. Very demure. Very mindful.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Oh, is that the one that did that?
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I was like, I know LeBron James.
- 3:31Speaker 2: No.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Different.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Okay, okay.
- 3:32Speaker 5: No, their name is Jules LeBron. They're from Chicago.
- 3:36Speaker 2: And this is the person that came up with that
- 3:39Speaker 2: TikTok on their way to work. And it went insanely viral.
- 3:42Speaker 2: And since then, they've.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Become an influencer, beauty guru, gone on brand trips, all
- 3:47Speaker 5: of the above.
- 3:48Speaker 2: But Jules also very much needed some dental work done.
- 3:53Speaker 2: from some past substance abuse issues that they had.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Teeth were just rotting in their mouth.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So this influencer put out a video in a GoFundMe online,
- 4:03Speaker 2: and it was very much criticized by a lot of people,
- 4:06Speaker 2: but it didn't blow up until Jeffree Star kind of
- 4:09Speaker 2: came into play on it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Jeffree's big.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Jeffree is big.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Jeffree's big.
- 4:13Speaker 2: You know, huge in the beauty industry and makeup industry,
- 4:15Speaker 2: and Jules LeBron also does makeup, and kind of knows
- 4:19Speaker 2: Jeffree Star, and they're not friends. And so when Jules
- 4:23Speaker 2: put this GoFundMe out there to help fix her teeth,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Jeffree Star went on the attack and was like, you're
- 4:28Speaker 2: an influencer, you can't be coming on here begging for money,
- 4:32Speaker 2: which we understand, but the way Jeffree did it was
- 4:36Speaker 2: in not such a great way. And people were calling
- 4:39Speaker 2: him out as well. It was very much just like
- 4:41Speaker 2: a lose-lose for all of that. But after weeks of
- 4:43Speaker 2: fighting online, Jules ended up getting her dental work done.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Okay, well that's good.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah, so she had to cancel the GoFundMe because of
- 4:52Speaker 2: all the criticism that they were receiving, but it looks
- 4:55Speaker 2: like this dentist in New York just went ahead and
- 4:57Speaker 2: did it for free, which is like half of what
- 5:00Speaker 2: being an influencer.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Is, right? Yeah, all you gotta do is say, do
- 5:03Speaker 1: my dental work, I'll talk about you. There you go. Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And this story blew up so much that, yeah, she
- 5:09Speaker 2: got the recognition. I mean, when she got the hate
- 5:11Speaker 2: and the criticism from Jeffree Star, that blew it up
- 5:13Speaker 2: more than what the video would have done on its own.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 1: I don't know. What do they say? No bad publicity.
- 5:20Speaker 1: There's no such thing as bad publicity. Right.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 1: It'll help you out no matter what. I don't know.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I have a.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Bit of a problem with any type of influencer going
- 5:29Speaker 4: on there and begging for money just because you're like
- 5:31Speaker 4: sure dude you have brand deals you have these things
- 5:33Speaker 4: you are making money especially if you have a certain
- 5:35Speaker 4: amount of followers if you're like i'm just starting out.
- 5:37Speaker 2: And jules has openly talked about some of the the
- 5:40Speaker 2: big brand deals that they've received like thirty thousand dollars
- 5:44Speaker 2: at one point i.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Don't like that where you brag not brag but talk
- 5:47Speaker 4: about what you've already received and.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Then you're on there like hey if i could just
- 5:50Speaker 1: get some money like.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Which is a lot.
- 5:52Speaker 1: I don't love that. I don't love that. But hey,
- 5:54Speaker 1: you know what? You got your teeth fixed. That is awesome.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I do want to talk about Michael Jackson.
- 5:59Speaker 4: He's back in the news because he had that iconic
- 6:01Speaker 4: Super Bowl halftime show way back in the 90s.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I believe it was 1993.
- 6:04Speaker 4: And it kind of set the tone for like what
- 6:09Speaker 4: nowadays Super Bowl halftime shows look like.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It was a spectacle, right?
- 6:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:14Speaker 1: It's Michael Jackson. Obviously, it's going to be.
- 6:16Speaker 4: But now he's going to have a documentary kind of
- 6:20Speaker 4: showing exactly what went into that. It's called Spectacle, Michael
- 6:24Speaker 4: Jackson at the Super Bowl, and it will stream on Hulu, ESPN,
- 6:27Speaker 4: and many other ABC, a couple other broadcasting companies as well.
- 6:32Speaker 4: In February of 2027, Jackson performed at the Rose Bowl
- 6:35Speaker 4: in Pasadena, California in 1993, and the show is widely
- 6:39Speaker 4: regarded as one of the greatest halftime shows of all time.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I've actually watched that several times just because it was
- 6:45Speaker 4: such a separating factor from what they used to look like.
- 6:48Speaker 4: It's kind of like, BC and AD type thing. I mean,
- 6:51Speaker 4: it really was because he is just that impactful in
- 6:55Speaker 4: the music industry, right?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Truly. I mean, people still talk about it. The audiences
- 6:58Speaker 2: still talk about it. Performers still talk about it. It
- 7:01Speaker 2: just like being such an inspiration.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So yeah.
- 7:04Speaker 4: The whole thing about him where he was like, no
- 7:07Speaker 4: one starts the music until I take off my sunglasses.
- 7:09Speaker 4: And he stood there for 90 seconds of just silence.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Like the dude's the goat. I love it.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I'm going to be watching this again. It comes out
- 7:17Speaker 4: right before the, the actual Super Bowl. So this is
- 7:20Speaker 4: going to come out in February of 2027, and the
- 7:22Speaker 4: Super Bowl is February 14th, so Valentine's Day this year.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I'm going to be watching it. I think everybody else should.
- 7:27Speaker 4: I loved the new Michael movie that came out this year.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, the not documentary, the movie.
- 7:32Speaker 4: The movie, yeah, and there's a part two coming out,
- 7:34Speaker 4: I believe, either next year or the year after that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: So I'm all Michael Jackson-ed out right now, and I
- 7:38Speaker 4: love it.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It's funny. He has such a big resurgence right now
- 7:42Speaker 2: just because of that movie, and a lot of kids,
- 7:44Speaker 2: a lot of little kids are so... He is a
- 7:48Speaker 2: very interesting person in the life that he lived. And
- 7:51Speaker 2: the dance moves and the costumes and all of it.
- 7:54Speaker 2: And I have a feeling there's gonna be a lot
- 7:56Speaker 2: of Michael Jacksons for Halloween this year.
- 7:58Speaker 1: My nephew is eight, nine? Eight or nine years old.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And he is going as Michael Jackson this year.
- 8:05Speaker 2: There you go.
- 8:05Speaker 1: They loved the movie.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I'm like, dang, you guys, you were born decades after
- 8:09Speaker 4: his music was hot, you know?
- 8:11Speaker 2: Exactly. Watch out for all those little MJs running around
- 8:15Speaker 2: for Halloween this year.
- 8:16Speaker 1: It's happening.
- 8:17Speaker 2: So Josh, yesterday was an exciting day because we were
- 8:21Speaker 2: on Great Day Colorado at Fox 31. We'll post up
- 8:24Speaker 2: the clip a little bit later. But that is also
- 8:26Speaker 2: when we were leaving when the rain started. And I
- 8:29Speaker 2: feel like it hasn't stopped since. And we're happy about
- 8:32Speaker 2: the rain. We love the rain. We're excited for it.
- 8:34Speaker 5: We need it. All of our dads are all saying
- 8:37Speaker 5: the same thing.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Boy, we needed it.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 8:41Speaker 5: We'll take all of that.
- 8:43Speaker 2: But on my drive in today, you know, I'm driving through.
- 8:47Speaker 5: And I'm like, oh, man, this is the start of everything.
- 8:50Speaker 2: You know, some precipitation coming in and hopefully we get
- 8:53Speaker 2: some snow later on this winter. And as I'm driving in,
- 8:56Speaker 2: I'm like, you know, we'll have to watch that on
- 8:58Speaker 2: the roads because.
- 8:59Speaker 5: Early morning driving, it's that much colder, right?
- 9:02Speaker 1: The ice, yeah, the ice will get you.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And I have slipped on black ice before, and so
- 9:07Speaker 2: I'm also very like, I gotta watch myself.
- 9:10Speaker 1: You're very aware, yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm very, very aware about it now just because
- 9:13Speaker 2: I've had that experience in the past. And I'm driving,
- 9:16Speaker 2: I'm driving, and then all of a sudden, for the
- 9:18Speaker 2: first time on I-25, I see a Waymo.
- 9:22Speaker 5: And it is going so slow.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Oh, are you serious? Okay, it's like the old grandma
- 9:28Speaker 1: trying to drive. Like, I can get there.
- 9:30Speaker 2: It's so slow.
- 9:33Speaker 5: I had never seen one on the highway yet.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I don't think I have either.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I've just seen them on side streets here and there.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Did it get lost?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, right.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Poor guy.
- 9:41Speaker 2: But this was the first time I saw a Waymo
- 9:43Speaker 2: in Colorado on the highway. So super early morning. There
- 9:46Speaker 2: wasn't a lot of cars around. But every car that
- 9:48Speaker 2: is going on the road, we're just flying past this Waymo.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Speed limit 65.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It is going so slow. And so I just start
- 9:57Speaker 2: laughing just because at how hilarious it is that every
- 10:00Speaker 2: car is just zooming past it. But then I was like,
- 10:03Speaker 2: oh no, what is a Waymo going to do in
- 10:06Speaker 2: the snow? Because I was thinking about the snow with
- 10:09Speaker 2: all the rain coming down.
- 10:11Speaker 4: That's the million dollar question here, Nina, is that's kind
- 10:15Speaker 4: of why they were the... the city that they're testing
- 10:19Speaker 4: all of the snow out with.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Wait, really? They don't have it anywhere else with snow?
- 10:23Speaker 1: Mm-mm. I mean, in California, no, they don't really have
- 10:25Speaker 1: the snow where they're at. That's what I've heard. And
- 10:27Speaker 1: it's in Vegas, too.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Colorado's really the first place that they're going to be like, hey,
- 10:30Speaker 4: we're testing this out to see if it can get.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Through the snow at all. Yikes. I know.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 10:35Speaker 4: And if you're already saying it's going four miles an
- 10:38Speaker 4: hour on the highway in the rain.
- 10:40Speaker 2: It was so slow, Josh. It really was. They need
- 10:42Speaker 2: to get the Waymos in Colorado. They're going to have
- 10:45Speaker 2: to get them snow tires.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I don't even know.
- 10:48Speaker 2: There's no other way.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Can a battery-operated car or a self-drive car, I don't
- 10:52Speaker 4: even know what you call it, if a self-drive car,
- 10:54Speaker 4: can it put itself in four-wheel drive?
- 10:57Speaker 5: Does it have four-wheel drive?
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't know. You have to. In Colorado, or at
- 11:02Speaker 1: least all-wheel, right?
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I don't know.
- 11:05Speaker 1: You just made me so nervous.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We should all be nervous. I am just waving the flag, alert, alert.
- 11:11Speaker 2: We should all be thinking about this. If you see
- 11:14Speaker 2: a Waymo and it's snowing, stay far away. Or, what
- 11:18Speaker 2: if the Waymo, it gets stuck? I foresee them getting
- 11:22Speaker 2: stuck and blocking up traffic lanes.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Help, help. Hell, I don't know. Like, I don't know
- 11:27Speaker 1: what you do. What do you do at that point?
- 11:29Speaker 2: I don't know. But yeah, as I was flying past
- 11:32Speaker 2: the Waymo for the first time on the interstate today,
- 11:35Speaker 2: I was like, what is going to happen when it
- 11:37Speaker 2: starts to snow? And it is starting to snow right
- 11:39Speaker 2: now up in the mountains. So it's a matter of time.
- 11:42Speaker 1: We're so screwed.
- 11:42Speaker 2: It's bad. I'm nervous about it.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 11:48Speaker 2: the office today, like Sundance Film Festival. It is coming
- 11:52Speaker 2: to Boulder in 2027 for the first time. They're moving
- 11:55Speaker 2: it out of, where was it, Utah, Salt Lake City?
- 11:58Speaker 2: And today is a huge day for fans of Sundance
- 12:02Speaker 2: and everyone who is excited that it is coming to
- 12:04Speaker 2: Colorado because... Ticket packages actually go on sale to the
- 12:08Speaker 2: public today. So these ticket packages, they're actually bundles for
- 12:13Speaker 2: multiple days and multiple viewings of movies at Sundance up
- 12:17Speaker 2: to 10 different movies in one package. So the prices,
- 12:21Speaker 2: they are doing their thing, let me tell you.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Their pricing?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Uh-huh, they range from $ 275 for student bundles, which isn't bad,
- 12:30Speaker 2: but that is for the students, to $ 4, 500 for a
- 12:36Speaker 2: pass with unlimited screenings during the second half of the festival.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Okay, well unlimited, that's kind of cool.
- 12:43Speaker 5: That's only for the second half of the festival. That's
- 12:45Speaker 5: only for half of it, dude.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Okay. I'm just trying to keep a positive face.
- 12:50Speaker 2: On right now.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Right, right, right, right, right, right.
- 12:51Speaker 2: No, it is exciting that it is coming to Boulder
- 12:54Speaker 2: and to Colorado. And this is the first time, and
- 12:57Speaker 2: it's going to be a huge deal. I'm going to
- 12:59Speaker 2: even try to get out there, because why not?
- 13:01Speaker 1: Well, I don't know, Nina. Let's be honest. This is
- 13:04Speaker 1: a bougie event. It is.
- 13:05Speaker 4: This is something that is for the people that really
- 13:10Speaker 4: enjoy film and how it's put together and all of that.
- 13:15Speaker 4: And that is a very high-end thing to enjoy.
- 13:19Speaker 7: For sure.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Right?
- 13:20Speaker 2: No, for sure it is. This is something that could
- 13:22Speaker 2: absolutely be held in Aspen, but I'm so glad it's
- 13:25Speaker 2: in Boulder because it's closer. But listen, here's the thing.
- 13:30Speaker 2: If you're like, oh, there's no way I'm going to
- 13:32Speaker 2: go because you're hearing these prices, well, the good news
- 13:36Speaker 2: is that these are just the bundle prices, and that's
- 13:39Speaker 2: what's on sale today.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Single film tickets are going to go on sale later
- 13:44Speaker 2: at the beginning of the year, January 8th, with prices
- 13:46Speaker 2: starting at $ 37 for a viewing. That I could do.
- 13:48Speaker 1: There we go.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Exactly.
- 13:50Speaker 2: So you can still go, but those just don't go
- 13:54Speaker 2: on sale until January. But for today is the first
- 13:57Speaker 2: day where some type of ticket sales happen for those
- 14:00Speaker 2: who are looking for multiple viewings to pay those higher prices.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But I will say a lot of these packages... do
- 14:06Speaker 2: include like 10 tickets that can be transferred to other people.
- 14:09Speaker 2: So you could split that price with other people as well.
- 14:13Speaker 4: I feel like that's kind of like any festival thing
- 14:14Speaker 4: that you can go to then. Like you don't have
- 14:17Speaker 4: to just pay all of it yourself. Get six or
- 14:19Speaker 4: 10 friends.
- 14:19Speaker 8: Yes.
- 14:20Speaker 1: All chip in a little bit. Okay, that's not as
- 14:21Speaker 1: bad then.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That's fine. So it's totally affordable. You can still go
- 14:25Speaker 2: and participate in the first ever Sundance in Boulder.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Well, this is a really cute story here.
- 14:30Speaker 4: A teen's lemonade stand that started out couple years ago
- 14:34Speaker 4: has grown into a $ 5 million charity event helping kids
- 14:38Speaker 4: in need. So Peyton Obert, she is a girl that
- 14:41Speaker 4: was inspired by a teddy bear that she received from
- 14:44Speaker 4: a do-gooder, essentially, during a hospital stay when she was
- 14:48Speaker 4: a little baby. She said that she wanted to help
- 14:50Speaker 4: others some way, somehow, and she found out that launching
- 14:53Speaker 4: a lemonade stand back when she was just eight years old,
- 14:56Speaker 4: it raised $ 768 at that time for children's toys. Now,
- 15:00Speaker 4: A few years later, this has expanded into charity work,
- 15:02Speaker 4: raising over $ 35, 000 to help children in need. Peyton's Lemonade
- 15:07Speaker 4: Stand became an official nonprofit, growing to an annual fundraising
- 15:10Speaker 4: of about $ 170, 000 by this year.
- 15:13Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Unbelievable.
- 15:16Speaker 4: So now she has stands that operate across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky,
- 15:21Speaker 4: West Virginia, Maryland, and New Mexico. The organization has collectively
- 15:27Speaker 4: raised $ 5, 000 million dollars, and get this, it is all
- 15:30Speaker 4: for distributing toys, food, clothing, books, and school supplies to
- 15:35Speaker 4: children who are facing different hardships nationwide.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Wow, that's amazing.
- 15:39Speaker 4: This is just a little girl who saw a need
- 15:42Speaker 4: that was answered for her, a little teddy bear back
- 15:44Speaker 4: when she was in the hospital, and now wanted to
- 15:46Speaker 4: do good and help other people.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Essentially across the nation.
- 15:50Speaker 2: No, these are multiple states, multiple regions.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Exactly. It's a beautiful thing.
- 15:55Speaker 4: And I think that we can all kind of take
- 15:57Speaker 4: something away from what Peyton has seen.
- 15:59Speaker 1: She saw a need and fulfilled it.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Yeah. And I think that's a beautiful thing that we
- 16:02Speaker 4: can all take from a little eight-year-old who has started
- 16:04Speaker 4: doing this. And, yeah, she says she has no plans
- 16:07Speaker 4: to stop this. She wants to keep doing this probably
- 16:08Speaker 4: for the rest of her life. I mean, she started
- 16:10Speaker 4: something at such a young age. Yeah. And it's become
- 16:12Speaker 4: so profitable, not even for her, I'm saying to help
- 16:14Speaker 4: other people around the world.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I love it. I think that's great. So hats off
- 16:18Speaker 1: to you, Peyton.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Yes.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Thank you, Peyton, for doing the work. Josh, I don't
- 16:22Speaker 2: know if you're aware, but yesterday we got a new governor.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Did you know that?
- 16:26Speaker 1: No, I didn't. What happened to our current one?
- 16:29Speaker 2: Well, Angelique Tolbert, an eighth grader from Sky Vista Middle
- 16:33Speaker 2: School in Aurora, won governor for a day. This was
- 16:37Speaker 2: a contest that was hosted by our current governor, Jared Polis.
- 16:43Speaker 2: It was just for the day. And she attended cabinet meetings,
- 16:47Speaker 2: questions from the media. She signed a proclamation saying, declaring yesterday,
- 16:52Speaker 2: let students lead day. So this is the first year
- 16:55Speaker 2: that Governor Polis has held this contest and done it.
- 16:59Speaker 2: And so he wants to continue it. And so he
- 17:01Speaker 2: let her sign that proclamation to continue it. But because
- 17:04Speaker 2: this was the first year he did it, he couldn't
- 17:07Speaker 2: help himself. He said the submission videos were so strong
- 17:10Speaker 2: that he picked two winners instead of just the one.
- 17:14Speaker 2: And coming up, there's going to be another eighth grader,
- 17:16Speaker 2: Weston Hancock from Ridgeline Middle School in Windsor. He's going
- 17:21Speaker 2: to have his day in the governor's office in just
- 17:23Speaker 2: a couple of weeks. But I think it's so cute.
- 17:25Speaker 1: That's awesome. I have one question for you, though.
- 17:27Speaker 2: What's that?
- 17:28Speaker 4: In eighth grade, did you care about any political thing
- 17:32Speaker 4: in the entire world? Like, I just feel like the eight,
- 17:34Speaker 4: like the very, very cool.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Okay. Very cool. If I'm an eighth grader sitting in
- 17:38Speaker 1: meetings all day.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I would hate my life.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Okay, here's the thing, Josh.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I'm just saying.
- 17:43Speaker 2: You and I are very different than these other kids,
- 17:46Speaker 2: I feel like, probably.
- 17:48Speaker 1: What, are you saying they're going to be more successful
- 17:49Speaker 1: than us?
- 17:50Speaker 2: Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying.
- 17:52Speaker 5: 100 million percent.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so good job, kids. Keep up the good work.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Don't listen to Josh. You're doing great.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I tried.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You're doing great out there. I am ready for this
- 18:04Speaker 2: week to be over only for, like, one main reason.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Why is that?
- 18:08Speaker 2: Well, because next week we are starting the Mix 100
- 18:12Speaker 2: Cash Clock. And I'm just excited for that.
- 18:15Speaker 4: I mean, we literally get to make people's day by
- 18:17Speaker 4: giving them money. And I don't think there's anything better
- 18:21Speaker 4: than that.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Like, I'm not kidding. There's nothing better than making someone's
- 18:23Speaker 1: day with that.
- 18:23Speaker 2: No, for sure.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Hey, just take cash from us, please.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. So we're giving away $ 10, 000. All of that
- 18:29Speaker 2: winning starts Monday. So we just got to get through
- 18:33Speaker 2: this week.
- 18:33Speaker 4: Okay, Nina, so I was thinking about this earlier. I
- 18:36Speaker 4: was eating out of a can of Pringles. And it's
- 18:39Speaker 4: always funny, when you try to get to the last
- 18:41Speaker 4: couple chips down there, my hand always gets stuck.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I can't reach it, so I have to just tip
- 18:44Speaker 1: it back and drink the chips. Right.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Okay, so that was last night. And then this morning,
- 18:49Speaker 4: there was a story that came out about Pringles. And
- 18:52Speaker 4: it has nothing to do with chips. It's the weirdest
- 18:56Speaker 4: thing I've ever seen in my entire life. They just announced, Pringles,
- 19:00Speaker 4: the brand, just announced that they are doing.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I can't.
- 19:03Speaker 7: Even say it.
- 19:03Speaker 2: You're like scaring me right now. I'm like, what are
- 19:05Speaker 2: you about to say?
- 19:06Speaker 4: Because it's so out of left field, it doesn't make sense.
- 19:09Speaker 4: There's a spooky contest that Pringles is doing, and it's
- 19:11Speaker 4: called Once You Drop, okay?
- 19:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 19:15Speaker 4: It is offering you the chance to be buried in
- 19:19Speaker 4: a Pringles can urn.
- 19:22Speaker 1: What?
- 19:22Speaker 4: You just have to sign their will and testament to enter.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 19:28Speaker 4: It's the craziest thing. You can spend essentially eternity there.
- 19:33Speaker 4: in a Pringles can of your choosing if you win this.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Which is also funny because- Because that's.
- 19:37Speaker 5: Something that a lot of people really, really want.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's kind of different. I was going to
- 19:44Speaker 1: say cool.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I have so many questions.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Please, ask away.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Pringles is running a contest. For someone who is going
- 19:51Speaker 2: to eventually die.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Well, I mean, we all are, but yeah. I mean, yes.
- 19:56Speaker 2: But then to create an urn out of a Pringles
- 20:00Speaker 2: can so that you can be put into the urn. Like,
- 20:03Speaker 2: what is the win here? The win is the Pringles urn?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Is this like a customized thing, I guess?
- 20:10Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a customized Pringles urn. I mean, you can
- 20:13Speaker 4: make it whatever flavor you want it to be.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It's fine.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Solely up to you. So let me just, let me
- 20:19Speaker 4: give you a background really quick. So once you enter,
- 20:21Speaker 4: you go to once you drop.com drop dead, you can
- 20:25Speaker 4: sign up and then you commit to wanting to be
- 20:27Speaker 4: buried into a Pringles can of some sort.
- 20:29Speaker 1: And honestly, the deadline's coming up here. It's coming up
- 20:31Speaker 1: at October 22nd.
- 20:32Speaker 4: So you only have a few more days to do this,
- 20:35Speaker 4: but is this something like, okay, let me ask you,
- 20:38Speaker 4: Sorry to think about your death.
- 20:39Speaker 1: That's okay. Do you want to be buried or cremated?
- 20:40Speaker 2: I probably want to be cremated. It's cheaper environment.
- 20:44Speaker 1: All of it. I have an urn for you. Shut up.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Here's the thing, Josh. Okay, this contest is mostly silly
- 20:51Speaker 2: to me because couldn't you just bury anyone in a
- 20:55Speaker 2: Pringles can?
- 20:56Speaker 5: If they're cremated, you just throw them in a Pringles can.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, but this is a literal urn. So it's like,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I think Pringles cans will. Like ceramic? Yeah, so like
- 21:04Speaker 1: Pringles cans will dissolve after years.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Deteriorate eventually, yes.
- 21:07Speaker 1: They'll deteriorate, yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I don't know, the grand prize winner is going to
- 21:10Speaker 4: receive an after lifetime supply of Pringles.
- 21:13Speaker 3: What is the point of that?
- 21:15Speaker 4: What do you mean? Which is technically two lifetime supplies
- 21:19Speaker 4: because they are going to give you a can of
- 21:21Speaker 4: Pringles every week for the rest of your life for
- 21:24Speaker 4: the next 200 years.
- 21:25Speaker 1: That's what they're saying.
- 21:26Speaker 4: So you and your next of kin will receive the
- 21:29Speaker 4: Pringles can. And so they actually did the math and
- 21:32Speaker 4: it's essentially $ 30, 000 worth of Pringles if you do that
- 21:37Speaker 4: for the next 200 years. You can also get this
- 21:40Speaker 4: award up front in cash. So you could do that.
- 21:44Speaker 4: But then you also get the Pringles can earn with
- 21:50Speaker 4: personalized engravings, metal in there worth around $ 600.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I mean, it's an urn.
- 21:55Speaker 2: It has your dead body in it, so you don't
- 21:57Speaker 2: really need to sell that for $ 600 elsewhere.
- 21:59Speaker 4: But also, think about this. So 200 years worth of
- 22:02Speaker 4: free Pringles... You can also have your grandkids be like, look,
- 22:05Speaker 4: Gam Gam is in this, and it's a nice little
- 22:07Speaker 4: personalized Pringles can.
- 22:09Speaker 5: I'm hungry now.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I think Pringles needs new marketing people. I think that's
- 22:14Speaker 2: what needs to happen.
- 22:15Speaker 1: No, I like it.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Oh, the celebrities keeping us entertained for days. And in
- 22:22Speaker 2: this case, Selma Blair keeping us entertained for at least
- 22:26Speaker 2: this past week.
- 22:28Speaker 1: She's been trying her hardest like wow it's.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Been a lot for Selma unfortunately so she was charged
- 22:35Speaker 2: this past week with two felony assault charges against a
- 22:38Speaker 2: police officer and a nurse After she kicked the officer
- 22:42Speaker 2: while being detained and bit a nurse trying to help
- 22:44Speaker 2: her at a hospital after she was kicked off a
- 22:46Speaker 2: flight for fighting the flight attendant.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Which is, what are you doing there?
- 22:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Those are the people that are there to literally help you.
- 22:56Speaker 2: To help you. All of those people. I don't understand. Yes,
- 22:58Speaker 2: those two felony assault charges against her right now. She's
- 23:02Speaker 2: going to have to be going to court in the
- 23:03Speaker 2: next coming months. But even though she has a lot
- 23:06Speaker 2: going on right now, I mean, on that flight, she
- 23:08Speaker 2: was traveling from L.A. to New York for work and
- 23:11Speaker 2: she's straight back at it, taking no time off. She
- 23:14Speaker 2: is back to work. mostly because she has to pay
- 23:17Speaker 2: for these upcoming court cases. Yep. But... Poor girl. I know,
- 23:22Speaker 2: I know. I will also say that Selma's lawyer did
- 23:25Speaker 2: put out a statement saying that part of the reason
- 23:28Speaker 2: why she went on the attack and was just mentally
- 23:31Speaker 2: not well is because she recently suffered a head injury
- 23:35Speaker 2: and she had missed some medication before going onto that flight,
- 23:38Speaker 2: which could have had an effect on her as to,
- 23:42Speaker 2: you know, why everything happened the way that it did. So,
- 23:46Speaker 2: I mean, I don't want to make fun too much
- 23:48Speaker 2: because it obviously sounds like she was going through some stuff. Yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 2: most definitely. But she is back at work at the
- 23:54Speaker 2: same time. And I almost wonder if that will not
- 23:59Speaker 2: help her case. If you're mentally unwell, you're physically unwell,
- 24:03Speaker 2: and yet you're still continuing to go to work, that
- 24:05Speaker 2: doesn't sound great for you.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Well, and you know what I heard?
- 24:07Speaker 4: She already pleaded not guilty to following these on-flight fights.
- 24:12Speaker 4: And so I would assume that she's going to plead
- 24:14Speaker 4: not guilty because of the head injury and maybe being
- 24:17Speaker 4: off her meds.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Like, you can use those as, like, hey, you know what?
- 24:19Speaker 1: I wasn't in my right mind.
- 24:20Speaker 2: It was a medical thing, yeah.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It was a medical emergency type thing.
- 24:23Speaker 4: But that being said, if it's a medical emergency and
- 24:25Speaker 4: you're back at work virtually the next day or within
- 24:27Speaker 4: the next couple days... You're right, that could really hurt
- 24:30Speaker 4: your image a little bit.
- 24:31Speaker 2: You have to look at everything, and a judge is
- 24:34Speaker 2: going to look at everything. So we'll just see what
- 24:37Speaker 2: happens with Selma Blair. But I mean, this was a
- 24:39Speaker 2: shock to a lot of people just hearing that this
- 24:42Speaker 2: happened and it was such a violent thing and just
- 24:45Speaker 2: the way everything went down.
- 24:46Speaker 1: It was definitely interesting.
- 24:48Speaker 4: And if she is really going through something like we
- 24:50Speaker 4: hope she gets the help she needs, because that is
- 24:51Speaker 4: definitely a horrific incident.
- 24:53Speaker 2: But a part of that is taking time off of work.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I understand money and financial and you need that.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Totally.
- 24:59Speaker 2: But also you need to take care of yourself before
- 25:01Speaker 2: you just.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Go to work.
- 25:02Speaker 4: But it's also like if you are trying to use
- 25:05Speaker 4: the I wasn't in the right frame of mind thing,
- 25:07Speaker 4: like don't call in sick to work one day so
- 25:09Speaker 4: you can go play hooky and go to a Rockies
- 25:11Speaker 4: game and then come back the next day and be fine.
- 25:13Speaker 1: You got to play it off a few days.
- 25:15Speaker 2: A little bit.
- 25:15Speaker 4: All right. I want to talk to you about Kelly Clarkson, Nina.
- 25:18Speaker 4: She is back and it is not looking good for
- 25:22Speaker 4: her at all. So Pablo Torre, he is a guy
- 25:25Speaker 4: that is all over social media right now because he
- 25:28Speaker 4: obtained the footage of of the in-store pretty woman moment,
- 25:33Speaker 4: if you will, between the art store and Kelly Clarkson
- 25:35Speaker 4: that we have all been talking about this last week.
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yes.
- 25:38Speaker 1: It does not make Kelly look good.
- 25:40Speaker 2: No.
- 25:41Speaker 1: At all. I want to ask you, did you see
- 25:42Speaker 1: the footage already? I did.
- 25:43Speaker 2: I saw it this morning. I had to watch the
- 25:45Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 25:46Speaker 6: What do you think?
- 25:46Speaker 2: I watched this guy on the podcast kind of try
- 25:48Speaker 2: to break it down a little bit. It's interesting because
- 25:52Speaker 2: the video footage is less than five minutes.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, the whole interaction, it seems, with them is like
- 25:58Speaker 1: two or three minutes.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Yeah, from Kelly Clarkson walking into the store to walking
- 26:01Speaker 2: out of the store, it is just less than five minutes.
- 26:04Speaker 2: When she first walks in, she seems entertained by everything
- 26:07Speaker 2: that's going on.
- 26:08Speaker 1: She actually picks something off the shelves, like, I'm going
- 26:10Speaker 1: to buy this.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, well.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Or she's looking at it.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I think this art shop, it's very interactive, and they're
- 26:16Speaker 2: very go-ahead... play with everything, touch everything, give everything a
- 26:20Speaker 2: feel or whatever. And so that's what she was doing.
- 26:22Speaker 2: And she was looking around. And this shop, by the way,
- 26:25Speaker 2: very tiny, very small.
- 26:27Speaker 4: Like 800 square feet. It looks so small. It looks
- 26:29Speaker 4: like what every other New York apartment looks like. I mean, tiny.
- 26:33Speaker 2: It is tiny. And it was busy. There was a
- 26:35Speaker 2: ton of people there, including Kelly. And she had her
- 26:37Speaker 2: two kids with her. And they were looking at some
- 26:39Speaker 2: of the stuff on the walls. And eventually, when she
- 26:41Speaker 2: gets to this art installation, this bird that this whole
- 26:44Speaker 2: thing is over, She does ask a question. She finds, like,
- 26:47Speaker 2: the store manager or the owner or whatever and talks
- 26:50Speaker 2: to him. I looked at the clock, Josh. It was
- 26:53Speaker 2: less than a minute that she was talking to him.
- 26:56Speaker 2: And he must have said something that she didn't like
- 26:58Speaker 2: that caused this whole thing because, again, she was only
- 27:01Speaker 2: in that store for less than five minutes. minutes.
- 27:04Speaker 4: Well, and it looked like their interaction, at least from
- 27:06Speaker 4: the part that I saw, it looked like their interaction
- 27:08Speaker 4: wasn't volatile. Like, it wasn't like people yelling at each other.
- 27:11Speaker 4: He was kind of nodding in approval. They pointed at
- 27:13Speaker 4: the wall, which I'm assuming is where the bird was.
- 27:15Speaker 2: And there's no audio at all.
- 27:16Speaker 1: No, no, no. This is all like CC footage.
- 27:18Speaker 4: It's kind of blurry. It's not great footage, but it's
- 27:20Speaker 4: just what their cameras picked up. It just looked like
- 27:23Speaker 4: they had a relatively normal interaction. And then he walks
- 27:27Speaker 4: off like to go help another customer essentially.
- 27:29Speaker 2: And then he is and he's talking to another customer
- 27:30Speaker 2: while the remainder of the time that she's in there.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:33Speaker 4: And so with that, she kind of like still looks
- 27:35Speaker 4: at the wall and then walks around and then you
- 27:37Speaker 4: see her put whatever she had in her hands back
- 27:39Speaker 4: on the shelf in the store and then kind of
- 27:42Speaker 4: make her way to the door. And that is when
- 27:44Speaker 4: I think things soured because she makes her way to
- 27:47Speaker 4: like the entrance, turns to, I believe at this point,
- 27:50Speaker 4: the man at the.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Cashier, the cash register.
- 27:52Speaker 2: It's right by the front door.
- 27:53Speaker 4: And she, you see like pointing and kind of like
- 27:56Speaker 4: stern talking to.
- 27:57Speaker 1: You can tell. Like how my mom talks to me
- 27:59Speaker 1: when she's mad at me.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and you can tell some words are said there
- 28:02Speaker 4: and then she kind of like walks out in a
- 28:04Speaker 4: huff a little bit yeah and it's that at that
- 28:08Speaker 4: point that i'm like okay i think that's when the
- 28:09Speaker 4: words were said right then even the store owner came
- 28:12Speaker 4: out uh yesterday and said hey i'm worried for my
- 28:15Speaker 4: employees safety yeah because of what she's done and what she's.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Said they're getting threats so with this.
- 28:21Speaker 4: Whole thing lasting less than five minutes i need to
- 28:24Speaker 4: ask you is this a karen moment is this a
- 28:26Speaker 4: true karen moment of someone who's never been told in
- 28:29Speaker 4: their life Told no in their life.
- 28:30Speaker 2: I think it might have been a Karen moment.
- 28:32Speaker 1: I do.
- 28:33Speaker 5: And I love Kelly Clarkson. She's insanely talented.
- 28:35Speaker 2: But I think this was just a moment for her
- 28:38Speaker 2: where she maybe heard just the answers she didn't want
- 28:41Speaker 2: to hear about that bird or whatever it was. But
- 28:44Speaker 2: that's the thing is we don't know what was said.
- 28:46Speaker 2: But when she was talking to the manager, like you
- 28:48Speaker 2: had mentioned, it didn't seem volatile or... bad or anything
- 28:53Speaker 2: at all and then when kelly was leaving yeah she
- 28:55Speaker 2: talked to that attendant and then she left and when
- 28:58Speaker 2: she left one thing i did notice there was another
- 29:00Speaker 2: woman there just a regular customer who was nearby obviously
- 29:03Speaker 2: an earshot of all of this and after kelly left
- 29:07Speaker 2: that woman kind of like sharply turned around like what
- 29:10Speaker 2: did she what did you just say i noticed.
- 29:11Speaker 4: That too yeah so there was two people kind of
- 29:14Speaker 4: standing in the doorway with her a little bit off
- 29:16Speaker 4: to the side And they both, there was a man
- 29:18Speaker 4: with her, and they both.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Looked kind of like.
- 29:19Speaker 2: They both turned and looked like, dang.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Like, dang, what just happened, essentially?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Like, what did you just say?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Like, did I just miss something, you know?
- 29:24Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 4: So I think it could really just reflect poorly on her.
- 29:28Speaker 4: And I'm so anxious. I want her to reply in
- 29:31Speaker 4: some way to try to save face.
- 29:32Speaker 1: I mean, and she has been.
- 29:33Speaker 4: Because she's been doing this the whole time. She is
- 29:36Speaker 4: not sad or short on words here at all. She
- 29:39Speaker 4: wants to reply. So I can't wait to see what
- 29:42Speaker 4: she says, if she says anything at all, or just apologizes.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Oh, gosh.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Josh, we need to be on this. So please keep
- 29:48Speaker 2: up with it.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Oh, I got my eyes peeled. Don't worry.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Josh, I was going through my DMs because my social media,
- 29:53Speaker 2: my Instagram specifically, I has still been blowing up from
- 29:57Speaker 2: that Bruno Mars video that went viral a couple weeks ago.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Oh, that'll never stop. Yeah, that'll never stop.
- 30:01Speaker 5: No, it literally is constant. I'm like, do I have regrets?
- 30:04Speaker 2: Kind of.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Please stop.
- 30:05Speaker 8: Yeah, no, seriously.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Can you turn your notifications off? I'm wondering.
- 30:07Speaker 2: Well, my notifications, I'm not, like my phone's not blowing up.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Oh, thank God.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I do turn those off, but every time. Your battery
- 30:12Speaker 2: would be like. Yeah, exactly. Every time I go on Instagram,
- 30:16Speaker 2: it is just constantly Bruno Mars stuff. And I have
- 30:19Speaker 2: all sorts of like weird DMs too.
- 30:22Speaker 1: You know, one time I got like 600 likes on
- 30:23Speaker 1: a video. Just letting you know.
- 30:25Speaker 2: That's impressive.
- 30:27Speaker 4: You with your 8.9 million likes and views and everything.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I'm like, I got 600 one time.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Listen, it wasn't because of me. It was because of
- 30:33Speaker 2: someone else's goodies.
- 30:35Speaker 1: You know what they say, sex sells.
- 30:36Speaker 2: That's true. Very true.
- 30:38Speaker 5: And it does on Instagram as well. But I was
- 30:40Speaker 5: going through my notifications.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I'm going through my DMs and, you know, just deleting
- 30:44Speaker 2: all the spam that's in there. But then I came
- 30:46Speaker 2: across an actual DM of a guy named James. And
- 30:49Speaker 2: he heard our What's the Drama last week.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Oh, love it.
- 30:53Speaker 2: And he was like, okay, if this is something that
- 30:55Speaker 2: you guys are going to be doing, I might need
- 30:57Speaker 2: your help.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And then I asked him to send me a voice note,
- 31:01Speaker 2: and this is what he sent me.
- 31:03Speaker 3: My best friend has turned into a monster.
- 31:05Speaker 2: A monster.
- 31:07Speaker 4: Uh-oh.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:09Speaker 2: And it's a best friend situation, so that's a little concerning.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Well, yeah. I mean, you don't want a best friend
- 31:14Speaker 1: breakup or something, right?
- 31:15Speaker 2: Listen, boyfriend, girlfriend, that's one thing. Especially when you're young,
- 31:19Speaker 2: you're going to go through them. It is what it is.
- 31:21Speaker 2: But your best friend, that's supposed to be for life.
- 31:24Speaker 4: No, losing your bestie, I think, is always worse than
- 31:27Speaker 4: any type of boyfriend-girlfriend relationship breakup.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Like, genuinely.
- 31:30Speaker 2: A hundred percent.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Save the drama for your mama.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Oh, my God! Oh, my God!
- 31:37Speaker 6: Or for Denver's morning show, I guess.
- 31:39Speaker 2: I love all the drama. What's the drama today?
- 31:42Speaker 6: What's the drama today?
- 31:43Speaker 8: Do it for the drama.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Here's Nina and Josh. James in Westminster, dealing with some
- 31:49Speaker 2: best friend problems and... Yeah, that can be a little
- 31:53Speaker 2: bit tricky.
- 31:53Speaker 5: So James, tell us what is going on.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Okay, long story short, my best friend has gone through
- 31:59Speaker 3: a lot over the years, and he's a different person
- 32:02Speaker 3: than he used to be. He's so insensitive now, and
- 32:05Speaker 3: I don't know if I want to be around him anymore.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Well, I mean, OK, hold on.
- 32:08Speaker 4: We all go through like, you know, ups and downs,
- 32:10Speaker 4: different changes into adulthood or whatever. And you say like
- 32:13Speaker 4: he can be, I don't know, insensitive or whatever. Is
- 32:15Speaker 4: he just joking around or is this like crude kind
- 32:17Speaker 4: of rude humor?
- 32:18Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, it started that way. A little bit
- 32:21Speaker 3: like crude humor. He would say something outlandish. He'd give
- 32:24Speaker 3: him a side eye, but he just doesn't care. It's
- 32:26Speaker 3: gotten worse. Halloween is coming up and he wants to
- 32:29Speaker 3: do a group costume, but I'm not comfortable going out
- 32:31Speaker 3: in public like this.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Oh, God.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Oh, okay, okay. I need to know. I'm actually afraid
- 32:36Speaker 2: to ask, but I do need.
- 32:38Speaker 5: To know what is the group costume that he wants
- 32:40Speaker 5: to be?
- 32:41Speaker 3: So he came up with the tiger that just ate
- 32:43Speaker 3: a dude last week and the corpse.
- 32:45Speaker 6: Yo!
- 32:46Speaker 4: The corpse?
- 32:48Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. And that's the nicest of his ideas lately.
- 32:51Speaker 1: The nicest?
- 32:53Speaker 2: What else does he have?
- 32:54Speaker 3: So he's also proposing Gypsy Rose and her mom because
- 32:57Speaker 3: they saw it on the internet.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Oh, jeez.
- 33:00Speaker 3: He wanted to do Kanye and Soulja Boy because he
- 33:03Speaker 3: wanted to run for president. It's too much for me.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds like a lot. This is a lot already.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Everything you've thrown out right now, this is almost too much.
- 33:13Speaker 2: I kind of get it. But if this is your
- 33:16Speaker 2: best friend, how long have you guys known each other?
- 33:18Speaker 2: Is this something that you can talk to him about?
- 33:22Speaker 3: Maybe. We've known each other since elementary school. Like I said,
- 33:26Speaker 3: he's gone through some hard times where life is just
- 33:28Speaker 3: not fair to him. And it's made him into this mean,
- 33:31Speaker 3: bitter person that I don't enjoy being around anymore. But
- 33:34Speaker 3: he's my brother. I have love for him and I
- 33:36Speaker 3: can't just drop him, but I can't do this Halloween stuff.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Jeez, dude. I don't know.
- 33:40Speaker 4: That sounds like a pretty tough situation. I don't know.
- 33:44Speaker 1: Maybe you could make like an excuse to not spend
- 33:46Speaker 1: Halloween with him.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you're an adult. You don't have to do stuff.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I told him I was thinking of going to
- 33:52Speaker 3: Chicago for Halloween, and I can't really avoid the trip,
- 33:55Speaker 3: but I might do it anyway to avoid that conversation. Oh!
- 34:00Speaker 1: Jeez!
- 34:01Speaker 2: I mean, you've got to be able to talk to
- 34:02Speaker 2: your friend, though. If this is your best friend you
- 34:04Speaker 2: have known for years and years and years, you have
- 34:07Speaker 2: to be able to have these tough conversations sometimes. And listen,
- 34:11Speaker 2: if you're not able to, maybe it is time to
- 34:14Speaker 2: break ties.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Oh!
- 34:16Speaker 1: That's bad. That's a bad situation to be in, Nina.
- 34:18Speaker 2: It really is. And James, I do feel for you
- 34:21Speaker 2: because those ideas that he came up with are insane.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:26Speaker 2: But it sounds like you need some help. Do you
- 34:28Speaker 2: break ties with your best friend who's kind of switched
- 34:31Speaker 2: up their personality on you? Or do you just bite
- 34:34Speaker 2: the bullet and you talk to your friend?
- 34:37Speaker 4: I mean, look, I love James. And I think what
- 34:39Speaker 4: he said is very poignant. That being said, with all
- 34:42Speaker 4: the Halloween costumes, there have been decades of, What?
- 34:45Speaker 1: I'm a mouse. Duh. That type of thing. The more
- 34:48Speaker 1: risque people that dress up. Right. I'm kind of digging.
- 34:52Speaker 4: I'm kind of digging the scary ones.
- 34:54Speaker 1: I kind of like it. I know, James. I'm sorry.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I might be flipping on you.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. I think that this
- 35:01Speaker 2: is just more an issue between the friendship, James and
- 35:04Speaker 2: his friend.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I think we just need to have a conversation with
- 35:07Speaker 2: him almost.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Or just dump him.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Or just dump him.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I don't know. Look, we got a lot of texting calls.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I think we should get to the calls right away.
- 35:14Speaker 2: Okay, let's get to some calls. Justin, good morning. How
- 35:18Speaker 2: are we feeling today?
- 35:20Speaker 8: Good morning. Feeling pretty good. How about y'all?
- 35:22Speaker 2: We're good, but we're trying to help James out here.
- 35:26Speaker 2: What does he do right now with this whole situation
- 35:28Speaker 2: with his friend? Does he try to talk to him
- 35:31Speaker 2: about the costumes, or does he just drop him as
- 35:34Speaker 2: a friend, or does he go along with the Halloween costumes?
- 35:37Speaker 2: What would you do in this situation?
- 35:40Speaker 8: If he's not feeling comfortable, he should absolutely talk to
- 35:43Speaker 8: his friend. I mean, he said that they've been friends
- 35:45Speaker 8: since elementary school. And with a friendship like that, you
- 35:49Speaker 8: should be able to talk to that person and be
- 35:51Speaker 8: able to compromise with each other. But if you can't
- 35:55Speaker 8: and things are actually getting that bad, then I would
- 35:59Speaker 8: have to say dump them. But I don't think it's
- 36:02Speaker 8: that bad to where they can't talk it through. I mean,
- 36:04Speaker 8: if they're best friends and brothers like you claim, they
- 36:07Speaker 8: should be able to talk it through.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I just don't like the idea of dumping, because you're right.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Like you said, he has been friends with him for
- 36:14Speaker 4: so long.
- 36:15Speaker 2: He calls him his brother.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Yeah, to break up and have that friendship break up
- 36:20Speaker 4: after so many years, I mean, that's over this.
- 36:22Speaker 1: This is such a little thing in the grand scheme, right?
- 36:25Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 36:26Speaker 8: It's so little. I don't think it's worth ruining a
- 36:29Speaker 8: friendship of... of that.
- 36:32Speaker 2: A lifetime friendship.
- 36:33Speaker 8: Or something like this.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Yeah. No, you're right, Justin. All right, man, we got
- 36:36Speaker 1: your vote. You are saying try not to break up.
- 36:38Speaker 1: We appreciate you calling in, man. Thank you.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Thank you. Yep.
- 36:42Speaker 6: Good day, guys.
- 36:42Speaker 1: You too, man. Thanks for calling in.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 36:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I guess a conversation is definitely needed. But it
- 36:49Speaker 2: kind of sounds to me like James has maybe talked
- 36:51Speaker 2: to him before because he knows that he's going through stuff.
- 36:54Speaker 1: About other things. Yes. Yeah. Exactly.
- 36:56Speaker 3: All right.
- 36:56Speaker 1: So, so far we have try to talk it out.
- 36:58Speaker 1: I like that. One for try to talk it out. Okay.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Let's talk to Alicia. Good morning, Alicia. How are we
- 37:04Speaker 2: feeling today?
- 37:05Speaker 7: I'm good. It's rainy.
- 37:08Speaker 6: It's Yeah.
- 37:10Speaker 3: I love it.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Oh, the cold, rainy weather. Oh, it's my best friend.
- 37:13Speaker 1: I love it so much.
- 37:14Speaker 8: I'm ready.
- 37:14Speaker 7: I'm ready for the snow. I'm with Josh on that.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I already like you, Alicia.
- 37:19Speaker 3: All right. Awesome.
- 37:20Speaker 7: Okay.
- 37:20Speaker 4: So how are you feeling on this whole thing? We
- 37:22Speaker 4: know James is really upset by this. Do you think
- 37:24Speaker 4: they can talk it out? What are your thoughts?
- 37:27Speaker 7: I totally think they could talk it out. Like, I mean,
- 37:30Speaker 7: I texted in for like, I've known my best friend
- 37:32Speaker 7: since we were four or five like okay and we've
- 37:37Speaker 7: had her ups and downs yeah we've had her ups
- 37:39Speaker 7: and downs and I mean they're girls family and she
- 37:43Speaker 7: would do the same thing for me like if I
- 37:45Speaker 7: was going through it and she's really been going through
- 37:48Speaker 7: it the last couple months so if she was like
- 37:50Speaker 7: oh I want to dress as x and y or
- 37:53Speaker 7: whatever I gypsy rose and her mom like yeah.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Are you so you're saying go along with it then
- 38:00Speaker 4: because she's been kind of going through it are you
- 38:02Speaker 4: you're gonna you're gonna accompany her with this Oh, I.
- 38:05Speaker 7: Would totally do it.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 38:08Speaker 4: I love that, first of all. But even if you
- 38:09Speaker 4: hate the costume idea, you're going to go along?
- 38:12Speaker 7: Yeah, I would do it for her.
- 38:14Speaker 1: Alicia.
- 38:14Speaker 7: She would do it for me.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Yep. You're a ride or die. A ride or die
- 38:18Speaker 2: bestie right here. We love that.
- 38:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I would do it in a heartbeat.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I want to be your bestie. What the heck? You
- 38:24Speaker 1: sound like such a good friend.
- 38:26Speaker 2: No.
- 38:27Speaker 7: She, like, I thrive off, like, dark humor when I'm in, like,
- 38:31Speaker 7: really bad states. And she does too. So I feel
- 38:35Speaker 7: like it's just like one of those things where it's like,
- 38:37Speaker 7: that's going to make me feel so much better. Even
- 38:39Speaker 7: if I like, if it sounds horrible to other people,
- 38:42Speaker 7: it's going to make me feel better. And I'm going
- 38:44Speaker 7: to come out just happier than ever.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Alicia, you're hilarious. So you're that person.
- 38:51Speaker 2: You're not only the ride or die, but like you,
- 38:53Speaker 2: you thrive off that dark humor. So you're down for it.
- 38:56Speaker 2: Would you have a conversation though with your friend of like, Hey,
- 38:59Speaker 2: Your personality's changed a little bit. I know, like, we'll
- 39:02Speaker 2: have fun this Halloween, but can I help you in
- 39:05Speaker 2: other ways?
- 39:06Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 7: We're brutally honest with each other. That's good.
- 39:10Speaker 1: You need that.
- 39:11Speaker 7: We'll wake up the next day and be like, girl,
- 39:13Speaker 7: that was so wrong.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Well, that's good. All right.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Okay, so we have one for try to have the
- 39:17Speaker 4: conversation now, one for go along with it.
- 39:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:19Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Alicia, thank you for your call.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 39:22Speaker 7: Yeah, of course. You guys have a good day.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Thanks, you as well.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Okay, so we're tied. This last call is incredibly important.
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah, very interesting. I know. I mean, I'm glad Alicia's
- 39:32Speaker 2: a ride or die, but I don't know. Part of
- 39:34Speaker 2: me is just like, if this person has changed and
- 39:36Speaker 2: they no longer fit in your life, maybe leave it
- 39:39Speaker 2: at that.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Maybe, but I kind of like the going along with it. Like,
- 39:43Speaker 1: I kind of do.
- 39:44Speaker 2: I don't know, but that's your face in the photos,
- 39:46Speaker 2: and you know people are going to be taking pictures
- 39:48Speaker 2: of you in video.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Wear a mask. Wear a mask. You're good.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Okay, the tiebreaker phone call. Debbie, we're on the air
- 39:57Speaker 2: right now. We're talking about James and this whole costume situation.
- 40:01Speaker 2: What do you got to say about it? What would
- 40:02Speaker 2: you do in this situation?
- 40:05Speaker 6: Well, I'm having a really grumpy morning, so I'm like, done.
- 40:08Speaker 6: I'm done with it.
- 40:10Speaker 2: No, no.
- 40:11Speaker 6: You don't understand. You don't understand. Okay, I'm going to
- 40:14Speaker 6: change my name and pretend you didn't call me Debbie, okay?
- 40:16Speaker 1: Okay, perfect.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Sarah.
- 40:18Speaker 1: No cursing, though. I'm just going to preface.
- 40:20Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 40:21Speaker 1: No cursing.
- 40:21Speaker 6: No cursing.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Okay, I know you're in a bad mood.
- 40:24Speaker 6: I'm sorry. People I know, listen. I'm watching four dogs.
- 40:28Speaker 7: Okay.
- 40:29Speaker 6: I took them all outside to go to the bathroom.
- 40:32Speaker 6: And I came in, went upstairs for 30 seconds, and
- 40:34Speaker 6: they all just did all their business on the floor
- 40:37Speaker 6: in the house. And I got in the car, and
- 40:40Speaker 6: I heard your, you know, go with it. I'm like, no, uh-uh.
- 40:44Speaker 6: I'm done with you.
- 40:44Speaker 8: You're out of here.
- 40:45Speaker 2: We're done with the dogs.
- 40:46Speaker 5: We're done with his friend.
- 40:47Speaker 2: We're done with these costumes.
- 40:48Speaker 6: We're done with everything today.
- 40:49Speaker 2: We're done with everybody.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:51Speaker 6: But in general, I'm a happy person, but I'm done
- 40:53Speaker 6: with that.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Today's just not your day, Debbie, and that's okay.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I feel Sarah.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Sarah.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I feel so bad for you, Sarah. Fake name Sarah.
- 40:58Speaker 3: There we go.
- 40:59Speaker 6: Thank you, Sarah.
- 41:00Speaker 1: I feel so bad.
- 41:01Speaker 4: First of all, I am so sorry about that, but
- 41:03Speaker 4: I also love how, like, you are just not giving
- 41:05Speaker 4: anything today.
- 41:06Speaker 1: You're, like, absolutely effing... that like.
- 41:08Speaker 2: No drop him as a friend we're done here we
- 41:11Speaker 2: just don't need this in our life today.
- 41:13Speaker 6: No longer a people pleaser we're done okay.
- 41:16Speaker 4: There we have it you know what Sarah thank you
- 41:18Speaker 4: for the call thank you.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Sarah Mike incredible she's like just be done with it.
- 41:24Speaker 1: Yeah you know what okay so hey you know what
- 41:26Speaker 1: james be done with.
- 41:27Speaker 2: It i guess i mean we got a few other
- 41:29Speaker 2: texts in on the text line and someone says do
- 41:31Speaker 2: what works for you if this person no longer serves
- 41:34Speaker 2: you be done with.
- 41:36Speaker 4: It i like that i'm kind of like the no
- 41:38Speaker 4: craps given attitude right.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Now right and sometimes as an adult that's what you
- 41:42Speaker 2: got to do things change your personality changes lifestyle changes
- 41:46Speaker 2: And you have to drop friends. I've dropped family members,
- 41:50Speaker 2: all right, for way less than this.
- 41:53Speaker 1: No shame.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Oh, that's me, though, you know.
- 41:56Speaker 1: I guess we drop them.
- 41:59Speaker 5: I think that's the.
- 41:59Speaker 2: General consensus, James, is that you kind of drop them
- 42:02Speaker 2: as a friend.
- 42:03Speaker 4: James, also let us know real quick, man, whenever this happens,
- 42:06Speaker 4: and follow up.
- 42:07Speaker 1: With us, okay?
- 42:07Speaker 2: Yeah, please. I'm so interested to hear about the rest
- 42:10Speaker 2: of it. Three things you need to know before you
- 42:12Speaker 2: go into the office today. Like Colorado ski resorts, they
- 42:15Speaker 2: are getting a little crafty after a bad snow year
- 42:19Speaker 2: last year. A lot of the time people just couldn't
- 42:21Speaker 2: even really enjoy themselves on the slopes. And so Steamboat
- 42:25Speaker 2: Springs is building a half pipe out of dirt to
- 42:29Speaker 2: later cover with snow for the skiers and boarders who
- 42:33Speaker 2: want to use it. So this is actually kind of
- 42:36Speaker 2: a good idea, and I'm surprised we didn't do this before. Well,
- 42:39Speaker 2: we used to have so much snow before, so we didn't.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Have to worry about it. Well, I'm not going to lie.
- 42:41Speaker 1: I thought we always did that.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Like, I thought we always had the built-in half pipe,
- 42:44Speaker 4: and then snow just covered it.
- 42:45Speaker 2: I guess not.
- 42:46Speaker 1: They actually made that out of straight snow?
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah. So this is going to obviously use less snow,
- 42:51Speaker 2: and it's also going to help Steamboat in particular that
- 42:54Speaker 2: is doing this. It's going to help them open their
- 42:56Speaker 2: park sooner. For skiers and boarders. So the pipe is also,
- 43:01Speaker 2: because they're constructing it with this packed in dirt, they're
- 43:04Speaker 2: going to make it steeper and longer than before to
- 43:07Speaker 2: help competitors actually get to train on it and do
- 43:11Speaker 2: their thing.
- 43:11Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 43:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 43:13Speaker 1: I like that a lot. I love Steamboat.
- 43:14Speaker 4: It's one of my favorite places in all of Colorado
- 43:16Speaker 4: to go, whether it's the summer or the winter.
- 43:18Speaker 1: And skiing Steamboat is one of the best things about it.
- 43:20Speaker 2: It's so nice out there.
- 43:22Speaker 6: Yes.
- 43:23Speaker 2: What else do you got, Josh?
- 43:24Speaker 1: Oh, sorry. That was the end of the story. I
- 43:25Speaker 1: know how to listen. There we go. Okay. You know
- 43:28Speaker 1: why I'm preoccupied right now, Nina?
- 43:30Speaker 4: Because a woman has literally transformed her home into the
- 43:34Speaker 4: biggest nightmare of my entire life.
- 43:35Speaker 1: What?
- 43:36Speaker 4: So, Claudia, a Chicago-based woman, has now changed her entire
- 43:41Speaker 4: house into a monarch butterfly sanctuary.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Oh.
- 43:46Speaker 4: If you have listened to this show at all, you
- 43:49Speaker 4: know that is a massive fear of mine because it
- 43:51Speaker 4: comes from the Butterfly Sanctuary. Nothing against them. They're beautiful creatures.
- 43:56Speaker 4: I love what they do. They're awesome. I just like
- 43:59Speaker 4: to see them from a mile away.
- 44:01Speaker 1: That's it.
- 44:01Speaker 2: You are terrified of butterflies, moths, anything flapping around with wings.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Yes, and there's so many reasons as to why. But anyway,
- 44:08Speaker 4: she has taken her neighborhood home into a monarch butterfly sanctuary,
- 44:11Speaker 4: planting native milkweed and wildflowers to support a species during
- 44:15Speaker 4: its nearly 3,000 migration trip to Mexico. Now, I understand
- 44:19Speaker 4: they have to fly so far. They migrate because the
- 44:22Speaker 4: cold weather here, supposed cold weather in the United States.
- 44:25Speaker 1: It's a beautiful thing that she's doing. Really, it honestly is. However...
- 44:29Speaker 1: I cannot imagine doing this.
- 44:31Speaker 4: Thousands of monarch butterflies will come and stay at her
- 44:34Speaker 4: house to feed and rest for a little bit before
- 44:37Speaker 4: making their trip down to Mexico.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Oh, that's so sweet, actually.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's beautiful.
- 44:42Speaker 4: I mean, genuinely, it really is. She is a co-founder
- 44:44Speaker 4: of Women for Green Spaces, which is a partnership with
- 44:47Speaker 4: Chicago schools that just helped. Native plants and animals thrive, essentially,
- 44:51Speaker 4: in the Chicago area. It is amazing. What she's doing
- 44:54Speaker 4: is the Lord's work, okay? I'm not saying anything bad
- 44:57Speaker 4: about her.
- 44:57Speaker 5: You just hate everything about it.
- 44:59Speaker 4: It's just my literal house of horrors, and I will
- 45:02Speaker 4: never go there, Claudia. I'm so sorry, but what you're
- 45:04Speaker 4: doing is awesome, and we applaud you.
- 45:06Speaker 5: No trips to Chicago for Josh.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Good Lord. Absolutely not.
- 45:10Speaker 2: So you have probably seen this story, this video. It
- 45:15Speaker 2: is horrifying. A man fell out of his seat on
- 45:18Speaker 2: a roller coaster in Georgia just a couple of days ago.
- 45:20Speaker 2: He did pass away. And he has been identified now
- 45:24Speaker 2: as 42-year-old Hassan Kareem of Atlanta, Georgia. And since this accident,
- 45:29Speaker 2: it was at a Six Flags. Six Flags has shut
- 45:32Speaker 2: down several rides across the U.S. I even found out
- 45:36Speaker 2: that SeaWorld shut down a ride who was made by
- 45:39Speaker 2: the same company, that roller coaster, that uses the same
- 45:42Speaker 2: seat design. And it seems there's still an investigation going on,
- 45:45Speaker 2: but it seems that the seat design works. was the problem,
- 45:49Speaker 2: that his seat wasn't locked in for whatever reason. It
- 45:52Speaker 2: came undone, and that's how he fell out during this ride.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I hate this.
- 45:56Speaker 8: I know.
- 45:57Speaker 2: It is just terrible. This story is just so frightening.
- 46:00Speaker 2: This is your worst nightmare. Anytime you go on a
- 46:02Speaker 2: roller coaster.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I mean, Nina, why do you go to Six Flags, Elitches?
- 46:05Speaker 1: Why do you go anywhere? You have fun. We're having fun.
- 46:07Speaker 4: With your family most of the time. You're going with
- 46:10Speaker 4: people you love and care about to have a good time,
- 46:12Speaker 4: have a few laughs.
- 46:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 46:13Speaker 4: And this tragic event happens?
- 46:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:16Speaker 2: So out of major precaution for everyone's safety, any ride
- 46:20Speaker 2: that has been manufactured by this company with that seat design,
- 46:24Speaker 2: they're done right now.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Honestly, probably a smart decision.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Absolutely it is. And the man who had passed away,
- 46:30Speaker 2: who fell out of his seat, Hassan, he lived an
- 46:32Speaker 2: amazing life because they finally identified him. So he survived
- 46:37Speaker 2: and beat cancer twice in his life. On top of that...
- 46:42Speaker 2: He actually just survived. It was three weeks ago. He
- 46:44Speaker 2: survived this fiery car crash with his daughter. Literally, the
- 46:48Speaker 2: car was engulfed in flames. It was the most insane
- 46:51Speaker 2: scene ever. And that was just a couple weeks ago.
- 46:54Speaker 2: And I hate to say it, Josh, but just hearing
- 46:57Speaker 2: his history, and I'm not trying to be disrespectful or
- 47:00Speaker 2: gruesome here, this sounds like a Final Destination script.
- 47:03Speaker 1: Everything that you just said, absolutely.
- 47:05Speaker 2: It really does.
- 47:06Speaker 1: That's horrific. I mean, it really is.
- 47:08Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I mean, and also, like... To survive all of that.
- 47:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:14Speaker 1: To go the way he did.
- 47:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 1: It's just kind of how life is comical, you know?
- 47:20Speaker 2: Life, yeah. You just never know what's coming at you.
- 47:22Speaker 1: That is crazy. For sure. My goodness. What a sad.
- 47:26Speaker 3: I know.
- 47:26Speaker 1: That breaks my heart. It really does.
- 47:27Speaker 2: It really does.
- 47:27Speaker 1: For the family. I believe his family was there at
- 47:29Speaker 1: the time at the park.
- 47:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure they were.
- 47:31Speaker 4: And that is a heartbreaking thing to see because I'm sure...
- 47:35Speaker 4: What they saw was absolutely horrific.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Oh, gosh, yeah. I couldn't imagine. So, yeah, like you said,
- 47:39Speaker 2: our heart and well wishes go out to his entire family.
- 47:43Speaker 2: And I'm just glad that those amusement parks, they've taken
- 47:45Speaker 2: down the rides for now out of precaution.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Yeah, they're doing the right thing. You have to.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. Josh, lately I have been driving my husband insane.
- 47:56Speaker 7: You?
- 47:58Speaker 2: How?
- 47:58Speaker 8: What? Me? Never.
- 47:59Speaker 7: How?
- 47:59Speaker 2: Never. And I can tell he is just so annoyed
- 48:04Speaker 2: by me. And he's mentioned some things about it, but
- 48:08Speaker 2: it's more passive aggressive now at this point.
- 48:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you reached a point, right?
- 48:12Speaker 2: You reached a point.
- 48:13Speaker 6: Exactly.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 48:14Speaker 2: So I'm trying to be better, but I know exactly
- 48:16Speaker 2: what it is that he is getting annoyed by. But
- 48:19Speaker 2: it's because I will switch out shoes. I will wear
- 48:22Speaker 2: a different pair of shoes every single day. And I
- 48:24Speaker 2: have a terrible habit. of when I get home, I
- 48:28Speaker 2: kick off my shoes right at the front door, and
- 48:30Speaker 2: I just leave them here, there, everywhere.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Somebody else's problem.
- 48:34Speaker 2: Exactly. And it's usually my husband's problem, and he is
- 48:37Speaker 2: so sick of it. He started just, like, taking my shoes,
- 48:40Speaker 2: and he'll throw them. I have separate room for my
- 48:43Speaker 2: whole closet.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Good for you.
- 48:45Speaker 5: I'm that girl.
- 48:46Speaker 4: You are.
- 48:46Speaker 2: So he, like, just... chucks them, like he just throws
- 48:49Speaker 2: them in that room, and then they're all over the place,
- 48:51Speaker 2: and then I get mad because I'm like, don't throw
- 48:53Speaker 2: my shoes, some of these are expensive.
- 48:55Speaker 1: He's like, don't leave them out. Yeah, exactly. In the
- 48:58Speaker 1: first place.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Exactly, so we're not necessarily fighting, but he's being real
- 49:02Speaker 2: passive aggressive, and he's just throwing those shoes everywhere, so
- 49:05Speaker 2: I'm trying to be better at that. But there are
- 49:08Speaker 2: so many things in my life, Josh, that I've had
- 49:10Speaker 2: to change for my husband because he's extremely type A,
- 49:15Speaker 2: the organization with this man. And it's like, I'm lucky
- 49:18Speaker 2: that he's not the opposite.
- 49:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:20Speaker 2: A total slob.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 49:21Speaker 5: But there is a point where it's almost too much.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 49:25Speaker 2: And like from from showering, Josh, we have two separate
- 49:29Speaker 2: we don't use the same shampoo, conditioner, body wash, any
- 49:32Speaker 2: of that. We have two different shelves because heaven forbid
- 49:37Speaker 2: I use his shampoo and the shampoo and conditioner radio
- 49:40Speaker 2: ratio is off or I.
- 49:43Speaker 5: Don't close the cap.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Okay, that's annoying, though.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Or I put the shampoo back not in the right place.
- 49:50Speaker 1: There's a spot for it.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Or it's backwards.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Okay, I'm on your husband's side in every single thing.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Are you really?
- 49:55Speaker 7: Stop!
- 49:56Speaker 1: Everything you're saying right now, I'm like, well, that's wrong.
- 49:58Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 49:59Speaker 4: I know your husband a little bit, and I hate
- 50:03Speaker 4: to say it to you.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I agree with him.
- 50:04Speaker 2: No!
- 50:05Speaker 4: I'm very type A, too, and it's funny. You know,
- 50:07Speaker 4: you were just talking about it. You get into a
- 50:08Speaker 4: relationship for a certain amount of time. And the cute
- 50:12Speaker 4: little things that were like, oh, she's cute, she doesn't
- 50:14Speaker 4: put her shoes away at the beginning, are now like,
- 50:16Speaker 4: I'm going to rip my hair out because you leave
- 50:18Speaker 4: your shoes everywhere.
- 50:19Speaker 1: And it's the same thing. My girlfriend is just.
- 50:23Speaker 4: So relaxed when it comes to the timing of things. Nina,
- 50:26Speaker 4: whereas for me, I am like, I need to be
- 50:30Speaker 4: on time. And to be on time for me.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Is early, right?
- 50:32Speaker 2: It's a big deal for you.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Massive deal. I'm just like that.
- 50:35Speaker 4: I think it shows that your time is more valuable
- 50:37Speaker 4: than someone else's when you're late to things.
- 50:38Speaker 2: I've heard that before and I think that's cute, but sometimes.
- 50:42Speaker 1: And I get it. I get it. Sometimes there's no
- 50:44Speaker 1: excuse and you just have to be late to something.
- 50:46Speaker 1: I understand that.
- 50:46Speaker 4: Well, anyway, so You know, Princess Pilot flying around and
- 50:50Speaker 4: she had an overnight here in Denver. She's like, hey,
- 50:52Speaker 4: you know what, I'm gonna be back. Would you wanna
- 50:54Speaker 4: see each other and hang out? I'm like, yeah, of course, absolutely.
- 50:58Speaker 4: That being said, she told me a completely different time
- 51:02Speaker 4: that she was supposed to land, right? I'm sitting here, like,
- 51:07Speaker 4: ready for that. I make other plans to go because
- 51:10Speaker 4: I had a dinner plan, okay, with my family.
- 51:12Speaker 2: In the meantime, yeah.
- 51:12Speaker 4: In the meantime, and I'm, like, in the middle of
- 51:15Speaker 4: eating my soup last night because it was rainy and cloudy,
- 51:18Speaker 4: in the middle of eating dinner, and I get a text,
- 51:21Speaker 4: I'm here.
- 51:22Speaker 2: She got there early.
- 51:23Speaker 4: I landed early. Aren't you so proud of me? And
- 51:25Speaker 4: I'm like, No, not at all. Honestly, I'm kind of
- 51:28Speaker 4: annoyed right now because I was.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Going to go pick her up.
- 51:31Speaker 5: You had like a mouthful of soup and she's like, okay,
- 51:33Speaker 5: pick me up now.
- 51:35Speaker 1: I'm literally like, what are you talking about? Like we
- 51:37Speaker 1: had plans.
- 51:37Speaker 4: I thought I had like an hour and a half
- 51:39Speaker 4: left before I could actually go pick her up. That
- 51:42Speaker 4: being said, I ditched the dinner early because I'm a
- 51:45Speaker 4: fantastic boyfriend.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Look at you. I'm so kind.
- 51:47Speaker 4: I scarfed down my soup, basically drank it, burned my mouth,
- 51:51Speaker 4: called it good, went and picked her up.
- 51:52Speaker 1: We honestly, it was fine. We had a great night.
- 51:54Speaker 1: It was fantastic.
- 51:55Speaker 4: But that being said, I'm like, The cute little things
- 51:58Speaker 4: of you not telling me when you're gonna be here.
- 52:00Speaker 5: She didn't communicate with you.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Not at all. And that's starting to get a little
- 52:05Speaker 1: bit less cute. We'll just say, I'm not gonna say annoying.
- 52:08Speaker 2: It's a pet peeve.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Just less cute.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Okay, less cute.
- 52:11Speaker 4: And I'm like, it's gotta be so relatable because I'm
- 52:14Speaker 4: sure there's a thousand other things that people... who are
- 52:17Speaker 4: couples for a long time, are like, oh, it was
- 52:19Speaker 4: so cute when we started dating, and now it sucks.
- 52:21Speaker 4: And I want to hear those. So 303-691-1649, text us,
- 52:25Speaker 4: call us, whatever. Let us know the little things that
- 52:27Speaker 4: used to be cute that are now just completely annoying
- 52:31Speaker 4: from your partner.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Because you have said them, I've said them. There's a billion, right?
- 52:34Speaker 2: There are. We already got one of those text messages in.
- 52:37Speaker 2: My pet peeve with my husband is that he insists
- 52:40Speaker 2: on centering the kitchen sink faucet with the two basins.
- 52:44Speaker 2: And I walk by and slap it over just to
- 52:46Speaker 2: get the look.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Okay, that's funny. I always want mine on the right side.
- 52:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Because that's where I do most of my dishes.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Right, but that makes sense. I think I agree with
- 52:56Speaker 2: Rose having this pet peeve with her husband because if
- 52:59Speaker 2: you turn the water on and it's in the middle,
- 53:02Speaker 2: the water's just going to go everywhere.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Yeah, actually, Rose, I hate your husband. I'm sorry. That
- 53:07Speaker 1: makes no sense. Why would you do that? No.
- 53:10Speaker 2: We are wrapping things up here in the studio, but...
- 53:13Speaker 2: We absolutely must admit our wrongs before we leave.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Always.
- 53:18Speaker 4: It's the most humbling part of the show, but we
- 53:20Speaker 4: enjoy it, and you seem to enjoy it, too, because
- 53:22Speaker 4: you love correcting us. So this is the one that
- 53:24Speaker 4: I got wrong today, and I've just flip-flopped so many
- 53:28Speaker 4: times on it, but it's the.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Whole Kelly Clarkson story. We talked about it.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Earlier, and just how it's a total he said, she said,
- 53:35Speaker 4: or she said, the store said thing.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:37Speaker 4: And I just don't understand, after watching the video... how
- 53:42Speaker 4: people can put the blame on the store now. And
- 53:45Speaker 4: I was wrong because initially I was like, hey, I want,
- 53:48Speaker 4: you know, Kelly Clarkson is a saint. We love her,
- 53:50Speaker 4: her TV show hosting skills, her singing ability. Like she
- 53:54Speaker 4: is an amazing woman.
- 53:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 53:56Speaker 1: That being said, I think now it's kind of showing
- 53:59Speaker 1: that she is a little bit of a Karen sometimes.
- 54:01Speaker 2: She had her Karen moment.
- 54:03Speaker 1: I'm not saying this is her all the time, but
- 54:05Speaker 1: I think she had a moment. You're right.
- 54:06Speaker 4: What you just said, And I was wrong, because initially
- 54:08Speaker 4: I was on her side. I have completely flip-flopped for
- 54:10Speaker 4: now until the next thing comes out. For now, I
- 54:13Speaker 4: am on the store's side. And I think after seeing
- 54:15Speaker 4: the video footage, she just kind of flipped and it
- 54:18Speaker 4: was all on her. Then directly putting the store on
- 54:22Speaker 4: blast right after she walks out of there.
- 54:23Speaker 2: I mean, she was in that store for less than
- 54:26Speaker 2: five minutes.
- 54:27Speaker 3: I know.
- 54:28Speaker 2: And then to put a message out to all of
- 54:30Speaker 2: her millions of followers.
- 54:32Speaker 4: Millions.
- 54:32Speaker 2: That is pretty crazy.
- 54:34Speaker 4: Yeah, so it is a little bit of a Karen moment,
- 54:36Speaker 4: and I was wrong on that, but we'll see what
- 54:38Speaker 4: happens tomorrow.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I might completely flip-flop and change. I'm not sure.
- 54:41Speaker 5: I know, it's different every day.
- 54:42Speaker 1: I'm waiting for her response, right? It seems like it's
- 54:45Speaker 1: what's been happening.
- 54:46Speaker 2: It has been, and she's been very vocal with all
- 54:48Speaker 2: of this, so I'm sure we will get a response
- 54:50Speaker 2: from her today.
- 54:50Speaker 1: Or an apology letter.
- 54:52Speaker 7: Ooh!
- 54:52Speaker 1: So we'll see. We'll keep you updated. Nina, what did
- 54:54Speaker 1: you get wrong?
- 54:55Speaker 2: I got wrong. We talked earlier about Steamboat Springs and
- 54:58Speaker 2: how they're trying to get creative with They're creating a
- 55:01Speaker 2: half pipe out of dirt. And then they're going to
- 55:04Speaker 2: cover it with snow for skiers and snowboarders to go on.
- 55:08Speaker 5: And you had said, like, I thought they already did that.
- 55:10Speaker 5: And I was like, no, they don't.
- 55:11Speaker 2: No, you were right. You were right. They already did
- 55:14Speaker 2: do that with the dirt, but they're putting in a
- 55:16Speaker 2: new one.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I was going to say, that's so much snow, Nina. Yeah, no,
- 55:21Speaker 1: it totally is.
- 55:21Speaker 2: I was like, no, they just packed in all that snow. No,
- 55:24Speaker 2: I was wrong.
- 55:25Speaker 4: I love being right. This is the best Wednesday ever.
- 55:28Speaker 4: I'm never, ever, ever right about anything. So to feel
- 55:31Speaker 4: vindicated here, I was like, I guarantee you. I was like,
- 55:33Speaker 4: I have basically lived in Steamboat for many years. Pretty
- 55:36Speaker 4: sure they put dirt up there.
- 55:37Speaker 2: You're like, I know there's dirt under there.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 55:40Speaker 2: But yeah, they're making a new half pipe. It is
- 55:43Speaker 2: going to be steeper and just bigger. It's going to
- 55:45Speaker 2: be for more experienced boarders who are able to use it.
- 55:49Speaker 2: And then, yes, they'll cover it with snow.
- 55:51Speaker 1: I love today. I was right and.
- 55:53Speaker 6: You were wrong.
- 55:54Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Whatever, Josh.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Look, it's so rare, okay? Just let me gloat for
- 55:59Speaker 1: one time.
- 55:59Speaker 5: You can have this the one time.
- 56:01Speaker 2: Thank you, Jesus. And we're getting out of here.
- 56:04Speaker 5: We'll talk to you tomorrow and later on today.
- 56:06Speaker 2: Watch our socials. We're going to put up that video
- 56:08Speaker 2: that we did our interview yesterday on Great Day Colorado.
- 56:12Speaker 2: So that will be up on our socials. And I'm
- 56:13Speaker 2: also going to be talking to Tom Papa. I'll have
- 56:16Speaker 2: that interview up soon as well.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Yeah, keep an eye out. We got a lot going
- 56:20Speaker 1: on on socials.
- 56:21Speaker 2: Yeah, make sure you're following Mix 100 at Mix100Denver. And
- 56:25Speaker 2: Josh and I, we're out of here. So we'll talk
- 56:27Speaker 2: to you tomorrow. Angela Cortez is coming in next. You
- 56:30Speaker 2: have a great rest of your day.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Goodbye.
- 56:33Speaker 2: Bye.
