- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: What is up, everyone?
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: What is up?
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: It is tea time with Robin, it's your lunch time vibes.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: What's going on?
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: Hi Robin, how you doing?
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I knew it.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: I am so excited.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_02]: I am so excited.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's crazy, isn't it?
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: We wait all this offseason and all this and boom.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's here.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's coming on and it's starting off with a bang of a game.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_02]: Talk about a bang of a game.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: Like, God, you couldn't slide us a little bit, but no, you had to start with the big dog, like the Ravens.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: We are back, it's great to be back.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: But before we get into this game,
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: a little bit of a house keeping.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: So, found out on Saturdays, we talked about that, a Carter, the Wayne Carter, tore his A, his Achilles, my bad, his Achilles, at practice, will miss the whole 2025 football season.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: I, like, hit you with the left jab.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: I don't
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was ready silence for so long because between the last preseason game and the first regular season game, there's that extra time and they don't talk.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: They've nothing, nothing, no information comes out.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: It hit me out of left field too.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, whoa, what happened?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: So, wow, huh?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: to people.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I get, you know, it's not a lot of stuff that great, whatever, you know, he's, you know, one of the pieces, but he's a rotational piece and give it how it was when it came to drafting who they draft and maybe push him down, you know, the chart a little bit, the dev chart a little bit, but still he was a rotational piece and now that rotational piece
- 2:38[SPEAKER_02]: was so, why have you bring this guy back?
- 2:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm glad they brought back Jordan Phillips to be quite honest with me with you.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like, now you can plug in a vet who knows his defense who, you know, who also to, you know, can just come in and play right now.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not too happy right now, but, and I know,
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: He wasn't gonna make or break the decision when it came to the game, but it's still a rotational piece, a depth piece for me.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_02]: That it's just, come on, guys, this is the first game.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: Can we be healthy?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the whole preseason training camp, all of it this year has been injury plagued to say the least.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: As far as Dwayne Carter is concerned, he may have ended up on the inactive list for a lot of games.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: That was me.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: He may have ended up inactive anyway, you know, they only dress 45 whatever it is.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: So his role may have been somewhat limited to begin with, and we've talked about Dwayne's situation before.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Dwayne was a third round draft pick from Duke.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Lots of expectations and not a lot of productivity last year.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: Excuse me, coming into this season unremarkable during training camp and during the preseason.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't see much that stood out about Dwayne Carter,
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: this team tends to give guys a long leash.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Think about people like Cody Ford.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God, Cody.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: He's still playing, you know?
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: Which is amazing.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: Which is totally amazing to me.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: But when he played for the bills, he was very up and down, often injured, but they did not give up on him.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: He stuck around.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: He stuck around.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: He stuck around.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: And that tends to be the way this franchise deals with draft picks.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: They will give them a pretty long leash.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: And so they're going to have a really, really long leash with Dwayne Carter because now he's going to have to come back not only from the Achilles, but let's remember it was complicated by the fact that they were
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: right.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: So in addition to the rehab, he, okay, we're going to rehab you.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Are we rehabbing you for this position or that position because it does make a difference in terms of size.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: They like those guys at the one technique to be at least 300 pounds and, you know, pre-corked out.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: Um, when it comes to Carter, so Carter's still on a rookie deal.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: This is just third year, right?
- 5:57[SPEAKER_02]: This would have been his third year.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_02]: Then he's going into his fourth year rehabbing the injury.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: Is it his third year or is it his second year?
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember I think this is third if I'm wrong.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_02]: Um, can someone check that for me, please I appreciate that.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is third.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think I could be wrong.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_02]: It might be, it might be a second.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_02]: You might, you're right.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_02]: It might be a second.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: But still, yeah, either way, the expectation where this year, dude, we've got to figure it out with you.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_02]: It was a year to figure it out.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: It took a while for Ed Oliver to hit his stride at that position.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, they didn't ask him to be a one-tech defensive tackle, which is another whole, you know, subject, because of what happened.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: For example, with AJ Appanesa, they mess with his body so much.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: The first couple of years, he wasn't really settled in his position.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: And even now,
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes I would consider him pedestrian and you don't even notice him in the games.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: So I guess the other question I have for you about Dwayne before we move on.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of wondering what your thoughts were about when you have a player that you've drafted.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: How long is too long to hang on?
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: Ooh, that's a good one.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: Let's put the quarterback aside because apparently the quarterback now is two years or you come off from a year.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I don't know.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: And thank you, John, John, please like and share this as well.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: I want to appreciate that.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: I would say, ooh, I would give it three years, three years, because it also depends on injury.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: I will give me three years.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: And with Twain Carter, this is going to be complicated because this is a second year, this is second year.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, good.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: But still, it's going to be a complicated recovery in terms of how you rehab him.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: Are you rehabbing him to be a bigger man or a three technique?
- 8:22[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll have to wait and see.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: But the jury is out for sure.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel bad for him in the sense
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: he's not going to have the opportunity to show any growth this year.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: So now it's all going to be about what is he going to be like when he comes back, right?
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is a this is the Raven's fan right here.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, what's up.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: All you're doing.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: glad you're here, Tray.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_02]: We'll get to the Ravens and I said we'll just have to do some some house cleaning right now.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: Look at look at look at look at
- 9:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, they're in the building.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's definitely going to be a great game.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_02]: We're definitely going to talk about it.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: We just got you right now.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: They also brought back Gabe Davis signed with above low bills.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_02]: Apparently there was other sources or other teams that were offering him but wanting him rather, but he wanted to say with above low bills.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how true that is
- 9:29[SPEAKER_02]: people saying that's not true.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: You know, whatever, out, if it's other teams that wanted him, awesome, but he chose to come back to the Buffalo Bills, and Bill's mafia was all up in arms about this again, because why don't we just bring back, but I've seen Isaiah McKinsey bring back, Isaiah McKinsey.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: to be quite honest with you, if you have to choose between a practice spot person and gave Davis, I'm going to pick gave Davis over a practice spot.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_02]: Clear.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he can't play right now anyway, because he's heard.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's still recovering.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see this the same way.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of bills fans were like, oh, where are we doing this?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're not asking him to be wide receiver number two.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's going to be wide receiver number seven or three.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to be four or five.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: He's not even.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: This is not also it's a, I'm sorry.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: But he gets a bad rap because he's a good blocker.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now to see drop passes.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he drops too many passes.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: That is a true statement.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: But at the same time, he's made some incredible plays.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I think for bringing him back at the practice squad level, and we talked about the same thing with Jordan Poir.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: You've got somebody who knows the system, who understands the offense, why wouldn't you want him as a seventh wide receiver or whatever?
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Where's Christopher?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: I would rather give it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Chase Claypool.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_02]: No, I mean, everybody has their opinion about cave.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'd get it told to tell tapping, gave, I get, yeah, I get it, I get it, I'll just say I get it.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: And we can move on.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to be spending my time on.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: They also revealed, let us know who two captures going to be one on offense, one on defense, Josh Allen, of course, intro Bernard.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: What's that?
- 11:49[SPEAKER_02]: I liked.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: Tromboneard.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: I like the fact there's two, even though when they have their meetings, whatever, they have more than two.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: What they have a leadership council?
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: And it's pretty specific in terms of how it operates.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought it was interesting.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: They went with two last year and obviously decided that they liked it that way.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: But it worked better that way for whatever reason with their leadership council, et cetera.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: So it kind of made sense to me.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing surprised me.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's like why would of course, you have Josh Allen on offense and on defense, you know, you're going to have, why wouldn't you have the inside linebacker.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: The guy is the quarterback of that defense.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Why not.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I get before how it was because I have the captains up here.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: I get it.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: It was a head DM dog as they had at Oliver.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Gabe Davis was a captain.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: See Christopher.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: So I get why they did too.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: I understand it.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Let's move on though, because we have a big game on Sunday night at the end.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: We spent on the team.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh wait.
- 13:03[UNKNOWN]: I forgot.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: Oh God.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is all like we're at a fantasy.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_02]: I am our first.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: Get some music going.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm my bad my bad.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: We just talked about this and I totally messed it up But we're gonna spill some TV for when you want to the big game Cause you know, we got a spill the tea here we go All right
- 13:39[SPEAKER_02]: All right, Robin, I forgot building a team, but I want to fill the tea about something I seen.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't understand.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I get there's narratives out here because that, you know, narratives run the NFL, right?
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: You know, they got the narratives that the MVP, she got the narrative Josh can't get.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's not even a narrative.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, a thing you can't get over.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_02]: chiefs, but you know, got the narrative of of Sean McDermott's article coach, but I'm seeing this about Sean McDermott had a presser.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: He had a presser.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: He was speaking about the Buffalo Bill's and the culture here and what he's tired of in the narrative that he's tired of seeing and someone took that presser and that clip and turned it into a narrative to where he
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: the chiefs will not win another Super Bowl.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, here's the thing.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to do this anymore.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: We have football now.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to create narratives anymore.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_02]: There's football now, okay, guy?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: So if you've seen it and you know what I'm talking about, we don't have to do that anymore.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have to come up with these narratives.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have to make up these fake, like clickbait stuff.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: We how did they come out with that from that I haven't Robin I seen it and I was just like, okay, let me watch this again quick.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_02]: Nope, no, that's no, that's not what no teacher.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: I have a question is bullshit.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: You see me, do you see me too, right?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: No, I didn't actually, you didn't see the video.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: I got to show it to you later.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_02]: I got to see it.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: It's Robin.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to be like, okay, we got football now.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to do this anymore.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: But what is your spiel the T, Robin?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: What's your spiel the T?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: But my spiel the T is truly not about NFL football.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's about what happened to arch-maning.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: played and arch had himself a game that he'd rather not remember for the most part.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: It struck me because you and I've talked about this before with respect to young people, but here is a kid who the expectations could not possibly be greater for like no pressure.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: of quarterback in the country.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: So much pressure and then at top of it all.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: And this is what got me thinking was the stuff that I saw on social media.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just like you and I were talking about young kids and in the age of social media, how much more difficult it is to navigate, to turn that stuff off.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's baloney.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: And far beyond for me, honestly, to feel a tremendous amount of empathy for somebody that's had a silver spoon in their mouth or whole right.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that part of it for me is that I'm kind of like, well, whatever, but then I think about the game that he had, arch and
- 17:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he's going to come through, which is fine, because he's got four and a an inch and I'm not concerned about him at all.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like it.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, my spill the tea.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the amount of media pressure that's put on people, the expectations that are put on people.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 17:33[SPEAKER_00]: They're young people, right?
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're young people.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: And we should be a little bit kinder, I think.
- 17:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think, and we are.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's my ability.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: And in Sandra, I'm guessing from what you're saying right here.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_02]: You've seen the video.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that video.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_02]: And seeing what Sean Dermit was trying to do.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: And what he said,
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: It had nothing to do with Kansas City at all.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't know how that guy.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even know that's what you were talking about.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: I saw I sent you to you.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, I saw that video that had nothing to do with Kansas City.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't do with Kansas City.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: So I kind of went back and forth with someone and on X Twitter.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: They were, but also to, I think, anything attached to Sean McDermott, people pile on.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I was saying?
- 18:33[SPEAKER_02]: They pile on, well, how dare he say that?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: And anybody couldn't come away from that little vignette by McDermott and not see the authenticity in him.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: He cares about, Buffalo, he cares about Western New York.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: He cares about the reputation that the community has across the country that he thinks is just unfair.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he has, he has assimilated himself into the Western New York culture.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's completely immersed.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, I wrote about that a little bit.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: You did.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: in article on the blog on the Buffalo fan base blog if you're interested.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: The point is
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: It meant so much to him that he expressed himself and then you saw at the very end right like he was starting to get really emotional and he was like, you know what I want to I'm going to go there and then he proceeded to go on and I was like, Sean, just back up because they're going to take they're going to clip it and they did they clipped it and they made it into a Kansas city thing and it had nothing to do.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Kansas City absolutely nothing to do with Kansas City everything to do with the Buffalo Bells everything to do with the Super Bowl and that's what it was But speaking of Super Bowls and Kansas City and two teams that sometimes cannot get over the the hunt when it comes to Kansas City is us and the Ravens and we have a matchup again I'm Ravens flock where are you?
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: I hate to see them so early, but
- 20:18[SPEAKER_02]: It is here, it is here.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: It is eight o'clock at high mark, home opener.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm nervous.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure, yes, I'm excited.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's the end, this will be the last time that we will see, well, now it might not be the last time we see the Ravens, because once we see them in the playoffs, again, then we are done with that chapter and then we're going into the new stadium.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: But right now, eight o'clock on Sunday, I hate it.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_02]: I hate it, I do.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: I'm nervous, Robin.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: Can you tell?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'm nervous about this freaking game.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'll talk you off the cliff.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Come on, it's too early for this shit.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: But what do you think I have a question for you?
- 21:07[SPEAKER_02]: Is it too soon?
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: Is it too soon, Robin?
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: How important is this game for the fobills?
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: Number one sees down the line.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: How important is this game?
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's big.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's very, very big.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: But here's the thing that I,
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that people, because you know Bill's fans, were histrionic, we just aren't.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_00]: So if we lose this game to the Ravens, is it going to be the catastrophe that you know everybody on social media is gonna talk about if we lose to the Ravens in the opener?
- 21:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think it will be a catastrophe.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_00]: Do, and I'll be just blunt because, you know, I just love to be blunt.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: at you.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I see big problems for the bills in this game.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: Partly because they're going to be missing a big part of their defense in Michael Hoyt.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: We've got three rookies on the defensive line.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: God love them.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to be, I swear to God, I'm going to say a rosary or two for Dion Walker on Saturday night because I hope he turns into a
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: a wrecking ball.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's what the bills are going to need, but I don't think it would be a catastrophe if the bills lost this game.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: The ravens are a more talented team.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: They're returning players.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: They have a few areas of deficiency that they're worried about.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_00]: Just like we do, our corners, their corners.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_00]: Isaiah likely is not going to be playing their tight end.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: Who has tremendous
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I, the bills haven't played much in the preseason, the offensive line hasn't worked together much.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: We have a very up and down record in opening games over the last five years.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_00]: So it could it could go down to the wire.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_00]: It could it could be a wipeout.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: The ravens could mop up the floor with us.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: What do we have to do?
- 23:24[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about that in a minute, but my, I'm being realistic about this.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: I have tremendous tremendous amount of respect for the Baltimore Ravens.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they are a tremendous organization.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'd like Jim Harba has been a stable force there for.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: ever.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: And they put out good teams year after year after year and they draft well.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I've got nothing but respect.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm worried about this game.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_00]: There's ways the bills can win it for sure, but they're going to have to bring their A game.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Um, last year, Ravens played the bills in single high safety a lot.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: Um,
- 24:14[SPEAKER_02]: And this is why you brought in a Josh Palmer in Elijah Moore because they can handle that man.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_02]: They can get separation.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you too.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Like you said, with the Ravens, the Ravens are returning 11.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_02]: of their 12 often on the office decide one of their exposure tightens will not be playing as likely.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he's playing.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they're full back as playing either.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: You could let me know if he's not playing or not flock and Ravens flock.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_02]: I heard I've seen that he wasn't practicing.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_02]: Also to they picked up some more defensive guys like they picked up
- 25:00[SPEAKER_02]: Malachi starts who I want it for the Buffalo Bills, but they kick them up.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_02]: They also hit they got in Kyle Hamilton.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I can't like you right now, Flock, but I love Kyle Hamilton.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: He can play safety and a
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Robin.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_02]: Rose with every penny, he's worth every penny and plus more if he wanted to get more.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: He's worth all of that.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: He is, he is the God.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's a stud.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: He's a God.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: He like, yeah, he's the God.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: The Raven's defense is very, very good, very good.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: Every level they're good, every level.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they went out and got Michael Green, a pass rusher.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: So for me, I would say this.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: I know Josh had time last year when they played them.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: Josh had time and they really couldn't get to Josh like that.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: So Josh had time to, you know, to do his magic back there in the first two quarters.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_02]: A second, second, clap, it was different.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_02]: And I know we're hearing the fact that if we had more time, I'm hearing that they beat themselves, the Buffalo Bill's so much didn't beat them.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: If you want to play that card, that's great.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: But also, too, there were still a minute in some change on the clock.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll just, you know, we'll just leave that as at what it is.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's a very, they like to blitz in from Josh Anne, and Lamar Jackson.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: They are good when it comes to blitzing.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_02]: If you wish these guys, they will find the hot-read and kill you.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: I will be very, very comfortable if I wasn't relying.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not saying that they are.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm saying for me.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm afraid when it comes to our third down, we can't get off the field.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: And that was our Achilles heel last year as the Buffalo Bills cannot get off the field.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_02]: Third down, killed us.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_02]: We were last maybe.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: So they have to get off the field.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: They have to get off the, you cannot allow Lamar Jackson just to carve up the defense, I mean, the offense, the defense, I'm bad, the defense back there.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: I would rather.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what, how would you want it to be done to you by air or by one of us?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_00]: That's your poison.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: Pick your poison.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's one guy though, who gives me hope in terms of our defense.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: And if he has himself a game,
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think it could be a different smaker.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_00]: Because one of the things we know about these games with the Ravens turnovers are key, turnovers are so, so key.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: And we haven't seen the kind of Matt Milano who we've seen in training camp and the preseason and the word
- 28:32[SPEAKER_00]: is that he looks as good as he's ever looked.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: He could be a difference maker for the bills.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's the one guy on defense that I think might just be a difference maker.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I look to him for turnovers.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that's a big... So you're saying, Matt Malano on defense.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll say that too.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say Matt Malano on defense.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: We went out and got these defensive players on the line.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to meet you too.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_02]: And I always say, I forget about Joey Bosa.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: I forget that we have a Joey Bosa on this team.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: I totally forget every time that we have Joey Bosa.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to meet Joey Bosa this time.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_02]: Even though it's week one, and I don't want to put too much pressure on it because I know, I know, Raven's fuck.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: I know you guys are.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: The media is hyping up as, and maybe your fan base is hyping it up to as a revenge thing, as a, you stole that from us in all of that.
- 29:40[SPEAKER_02]: I, I get it, but I don't.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_02]: They, you stole something that was, you took something away from us.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, if you're mad at the Buffalo bills, you should also be mad at Lamar Jackson and your defense.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: Because turnovers is what really,
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: took this to a different level when it came to this game.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, but let me get back to, I think that Matt Milano will be the Difference Maker.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_02]: And also, too, I also believe Palmer and more if more plays will also be because we have, I mean, our why receivers are going to have to win on the outside.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have to win.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you brought these guys in here to do that.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, to step up and do that.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: For sure.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: Um, what else do I, I mean, oh, you're kicker and special teams to me is going to be a very important element to when it comes to this game, because I know they just signed someone a plot returner, um, and I know, uh, Bass is.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: Can we have a conversation about Bass?
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Let's have a, we, we'll, build my favorite bring it in.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think we need to have a conversation about Bass.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's time guys.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to be thinking about Tyler Bass this whole season.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like I thought about tire bass less season.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to think about Tyler Bass.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_02]: So now I'm coming into week one.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Think about freaking Tyler Bass in special teams.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's good that we have a new coach that has experience because this is what we need.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to take some time with special teams.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_00]: It always does that part of the game takes a few weeks for special teams to really start to hit their stride and we'll see what happens, how quick are to adjust to any miscuse that may occur
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: So I share your indigestion about special teams and highly, yes, I don't know what to think the pelvic soreness because you know the medical person in me is like, you know, your pelvis is such an integral part of kicking that that's that's like having the quarterbacks throwing arm.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_00]: right it's it's the same kind of deal.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: And you know how bills fans are we don't want to have to worry about our kicker.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: No, right we don't want to have to worry about a kicker because after the 90s we don't want to have to worry about kicking.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_00]: God I don't have to worry about if I hear wide right one more time I you know I'll completely lose my mind.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: But the point is
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: a chronic problem with his pelvis, and if that's the case, then the longer you go on in the season with the situation, the harder it's going to be.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: Do you cut bait?
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know what the cap implications would be in terms of, I know last year, it would have been,
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's a factor, but he, but they didn't even try anyone out, Robin.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't, I don't know if they did, you know, in the guy, did pretty well, but it was like, Oh, well, Tyler's fine.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: So let's go.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: And then the last kick, um, preseason, he missed it.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: But everyone prior to that, he made.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: So then it start flaring up on the last hit.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly what I think happened.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly what I think happened.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: word is this something we're just going to deal with for the rest of the season come on.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's figure this out.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_02]: I love the team or online is top three and the league cook has 4.1 yards per game last year.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: I will bet the over on Sunday.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: You heard of here, guys, and you are betting people, bet the over on James Cook.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would bet anything Dean says, that's good.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, not what I would say, because you know, I know, I don't just think or like all over the place.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_00]: I can't talk about this game, can't be.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's our emergency kicker.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't trust that.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: Jim, I don't trust that.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm doing my trust that.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: I get me out of here with that.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'll say this again when it came to the special teams Buffalo bills give up a special team touchdown Three years out of four And This is making me feel warm making me feel so warm inside Again, we'll say this.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: Me and Robin will say this.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: We've said this off air.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: We'll put it on here.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_02]: Just do it.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_02]: We'll do it
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: We are not convinced that the Buffalo Bills are going to win this game, we are not, and I'm fine with it, I'm fine with it.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's a regular season game.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: If the bills lose, it doesn't change anything for the rest of the season.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: You move forward.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully face them in the playoffs.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's more important to win that game than it is during the regular season.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Even though the matchups and the number one seed and all of that kind of stuff is very important.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think people should lose their minds.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't because this bill's team this year on defense, especially, has so we're relying on three rookies on our defensive line.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know that land in Jackson actually is going to probably play very much.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe he'll get some snaps.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_00]: He could be inactive for the game.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: But we know Dion Walker's gonna play, and we know TJ Sandler's gonna play and both of them are good.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: Both of them have great potential and everyone knows how much I love Dion Walker.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I have visions of him blowing up the middle of the offensive line for the Ravens and running Lamar all over the field.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I hope.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: You are right, so if, so that's why I think this game is more important to Ravens because if you have a few games are crazy, they are crazy and if you don't get out to a good start, you can be behind quick, so I totally get it, I understand it.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even think of it as, you know, I try to do gay by gay because I can't give you emotional of this to this to this, I don't, I can't do that.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: But for me, I just think when it comes to your, your roster is top tier.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's up there with Philips, it's the best of the best.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not saying.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: You can't be beat because I think if anybody can do it, it's Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: Sure.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: Josh Allen.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: We're sure.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_00]: There's so many question marks this early.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: How much can you expect the rookies to be wise when they don't know what it's like to play in the NFL?
- 37:41[SPEAKER_00]: So how intuitive are they going to be able to be?
- 37:46[SPEAKER_00]: Are they
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: Are they going to be able to be in the right place at the right time this is going to this is you know what this is going to come down to Discipline football.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I have no no your gaps just be no have your eyes be where they're supposed to be Dear Henry is going to challenge all of that because you are not you don't want when it comes to dear can Henry he is going to challenge the fact that You have to trust yourself
- 38:13[SPEAKER_02]: trust the fact that this whole training camp has put you in a position to be disciplined.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to be, it's, it's, I'm sorry to say it even though it's going to come down to, yeah, who has the ball.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_02]: But I, but for me, it's disciplined is disciplined football and.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they got to create turnovers, you know, I will say because this is the first game of the season and I hope to be able to say this throughout the season, but I love Dion Walker.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if y'all know Robin loves Dion Walker guys I can't I can't even put it into words five years It's been 84 years.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's been five years that we've talked about wanting a large
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: defensive tackle at the one technique position.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_00]: And Dion Walker checks every box and hopefully is going to show that being taken in the fourth round was a steal.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I truly believe this guy could be so good at this level in the NFL.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: On your defensive side of the ball, what God do you think that is a defense?
- 39:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, defense outside of the ball.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: What player do you think is your weak link if you're still here?
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Because for me, on the office side of the ball, if we're not careful, it could be
- 40:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because Spencer Brown, I'm not saying Spencer Brown is deaf.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_00]: No, but he also has a temper and tends to get penalties in our opportune times.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not saying that the weak link of he can handle his own.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_02]: Don't get me wrong.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: But if you have a bendable past Russia, I don't know if Spencer Brown can do well with that.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: I do he's tall he's 69.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's pretty stiff.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a bad back.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's already had one back surgery.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you answer it's great.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_02]: If not, um, maybe he walked away from his phone to Delaware.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's watching his front.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, again, I'm excited about this game.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_02]: I also, like I said, we don't have the bills when in this game, but if they do, I will eat my words.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have a problem with eating my words.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_02]: But again, this is going to be a fun, exciting game.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_02]: The bills are back, Buffalo.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, football is back.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: We have a game tonight, y'all.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_02]: Y'all!
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're listening right now, this is dropping on Friday.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Philadelphia one.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really care who wins this game.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just watching me because football's on football, baby Yeah, but we have a game tonight, and I'm excited and you have anything else to say for the team in Brazil That's Friday, right?
- 41:47[SPEAKER_00]: The Chiefs Chargers That they put a divisional game in Brazil
- 41:54[SPEAKER_02]: They had doing some crazy stuff this year.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: Crazy shit.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like you hit right off the bat, night one, boom, the bills and ravens.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_02]: Hit you with the bat.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's definitely gonna be late guys, thank you.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is all I just did.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_02]: I got nothing.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: got nothing else.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you guys for tuning in.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: Always like this was fun.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_02]: Always fun.
- 42:20[SPEAKER_02]: We are back.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're back baby.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: We are back.
