Chesterfield County, South Carolina, is in turmoil after an inmate died at the detention center — prompting Sheriff Cambo Streater to call in SLED for a full investigation. In response, he’s already replaced the jail director with an interim leader and is bringing in outside experts from the state Department of Corrections and the South Carolina Association of Counties to review policies.
