- 2:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's been he's been up.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: They've been working.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're getting the late pickup.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: 8 o'clock's the late pickup.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he they started, they started last night.

- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Oh, big money, big money.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, for this all volunteer organization, right?
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Big money.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: You know, all volunteers.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: And is and it and is Paul a of judge?
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: Joel.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: Joel.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: Joel.
- 3:19SPEAKER_02: No, Joel is not a judge.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: I'm a video maker like Steve.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Joel, Joel does art like you.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: He's an artist.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:27unknown: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: He said he's a video maker.
- 3:30unknown: Yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: Is he gonna make a video of the parade?
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: No.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna set up the stage.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna we're gonna set up the stage for the judges uh and stuff like that.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: And how many how many floats are there for them to judge?
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Uh well, there'll be there's about 78 entries.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: But they weren't really be there aren't really any floats almost at all.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: It's just like dumb people like advertising their bank or their church.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: Well, oh, or like cool, well, there's lots of like horses.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there's horses.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: There's probably like three horror, three or four horse groups.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Um there'll be a couple neat floats where people have done something for the community, you know?
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: Because there's like the kind of float that's just an advertisement that you're just like, look at me, I'm not really here for you.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Then there's a few where people made something interesting for people who are watching.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Actually do something watching.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: So that's I like it.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's the kind I like.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's the kind we all like.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: But it takes time, like it takes time and money and people envisioned.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, there's ways, you know, there's ways you can be efficient, but yeah, generally it's a lot of work.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: And that's you know you're making art or you're making something for as a gift, you know.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: You know, that's what it that's what it takes.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: Or you could just make something really cool that advertises something local, you know, because then you get the best of both worlds.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, if I had a pizza place there, I would say, oh, let me let me give you guys a couple thousand dollars to make a cool float and then put our name on it, you know.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: That would be a really good yeah, it'd be a good thing.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And and um You'd love his pizza place.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, I like I like pizza.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: He has pizza place.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: His pizza place is is a work of art itself.
- 5:05SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: Like, like the whole thing.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: Do you still have the tower of jungle or the the fountain of jungle, the mountain of jungle?
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: I mean the mountain of trash.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: It's called the oh, you're I know what you're talking about.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: You're not talking about the fountain.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the fountain.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: Well, we have the fountain of junk, yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: Well, I tell you, if you're gonna make some establishment and people are gonna come there, might as well make it an interesting place to be, right?
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, that way people come for the atmosphere as well as the food.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: You know, you know, you're trying to make it uh you you want to make it a good place for people to work, a good place for people to things for people to see, a place for artists to gather.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: We do live music every night.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: We have a rotating artist in the dining room.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: So you you get a lot of local art, you know, which is always what make helps to build community.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, it sure does.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: That's a really cool thing.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Nice move.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: And his, yeah, he's got like, do you still have the van there?
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: So the van he got married in.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Um, I didn't get married in the van.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: Well, no, I mean you got you you you got married.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: We drove the van away after we got married.
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: So they've gutted it and put it like dining experience in there.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: So and that's sitting right out front.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: You can sit in the fan and eat.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Whoa.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's so fun.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, the whole thing's cool.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: You gotta check it out.
- 6:17SPEAKER_02: You would dig it.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: And then you've and you've done every inch of the outside of the the um in tile.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: Like he's tiled the whole thing, the whole restaurant.
- 6:28SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Mosaic.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: But it's but it's not finished yet.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: It's it's uh it's got another couple years to finish mosaicing.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: But I I I yeah, I I do have a kiln full of tiles I'm about to pull out today, and then I got a you know, another 20 square feet I can go do.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Wow, you're not gonna get bored.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: No, no, that's the whole idea.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: It's like keep it, keep it going.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Uh performance art always.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: But I'm thinking today, like I'm I'm really d I'm really today, I'm I'm struggling.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I I wanna, I'm thinking I might grab my grill and go up there and make hot dogs for the staff today, like in the parking lot, just cook hot dogs.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: And that would be kind of and then everybody customers say, Oh, what you know, I want a hot dog, and like, well, when it's not for you.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: But you know, but you're grilling in the parking lot because it's 4th of July.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: So then the staff gets to eat the hot dogs, and then the people that customers get to eat pizza.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: I think you should do that.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think I should do that.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I gotta just throw the grill in the truck and and then some and some uh coals because it's easy enough, you know.
- 7:32unknown: Yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: And it's and it just it makes because they they uh actually the the general manager I said, hey, maybe get some barbecue for everybody there or something.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: He's like, Oh, we already got hot dogs, we're having hot dogs, but they're just gonna put the hot dogs in the pizza oven, you know.
- 7:46SPEAKER_01: And that's fine.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Outside with with a hat, like a with a red, white, and blue hat.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: And it's America.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's not a bad idea.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: Okay, wrap it up.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Okay, good to good to be here.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Good for America.
