Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Dove All Daily, presented by jing Jack.com and fueled by brass, tax, coffee right now.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: We are taking a look at the Jaguars passing offense and doing a kind of statistical breakdown of my expectations for this passing offense heading into 2026.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: We are less than a couple weeks away now from training camp getting kicked off.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: I will be there officially got the
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: credential approval yesterday.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: So that's very exciting.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I did this earlier in the year.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: Things have changed a little bit for me since then.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: And so I wanted to revisit my expectations just from a statistical standpoint for the Jaguar as passing offense, looking at all the different receivers, all the different targets.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: And then ultimately what that leads to
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: in 2026, excited to get into it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.

- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new Duval gear.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: You can also hit that high button.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: The way I did this was taking a lot of statistical information from each player's career and trying to apply that to kind of the context of what is currently in place with this Jaguar's Office, which of course is a
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of talented receivers, a lot of mouths to feed, a quarter back that I think is playing at a high level, very comfortable in this offense, an offense that is really, really well designed and coached by Liam Cohen and company.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: So basically, I think
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: You're not seeing any like insane insane numbers from an individual standpoint, but you are seeing some very big numbers from the group as a whole, and some big performances from a couple of receivers in terms of like total output.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: here.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we can go ahead and dive into it.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: I do have Parker Washington leading the Jaguars and catches.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think based on what he was doing last year, what we've seen early on this year in the off season, what we will see in training camp.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think Parker Washington is going to be a player.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars want to feature early and often he and Trevor Lawrence have a strong connection, right?
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: And
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: He has the ability to catch screens, to catch short passes, you know, zero to five yards, intermediate, you know, 10 to 20 yards and beyond.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: And he has the ability to go up and get contested catches.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: He has the ability to separate as a route runner as well.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Parker Washington just overall has the most complete game of all the Jaguars receivers right now.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he leads them with 80 catches.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: And just under 1,200 yards, which I mean, that's a big chunk of change.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: He had a bunch of receiving yards last year, let the Jaguars in receiving last year too, despite only being a full-time starter for like half the season, a little over half the season.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I have him at 80 catches, 1,180 yards, and nine touchdowns, leading the Jaguars in,
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: catches and yards and touchdowns being tied for the lead when it comes to the receivers.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: So up next is BTJ.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: BTJ was an interesting one to kind of decipher because I basically what I did to project him out is I eliminated weeks one through 12 of last year.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I went and I combined his averages from weeks 13 through the wild card round with his rookie year.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: because I think that those two samples are more indicative of what you'll actually see from Brian Thomas Jr. where weeks 13 through the wildcard round, he wasn't featured the way he was as a rookie.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't featured the way he was earlier in the year, but he was still a piece to the Jaguar's passing offense.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will be more than that.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think he'll be featured a little bit less consistently than he was his rookie year, but ultimately that got me to 70 catches for 1100 yards and nine touchdowns and I did round these numbers like if it was 72 catches I made at 70, if it was 73 catches I made at 75
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: around it a little bit just for the sake of the ease of kind of reading these numbers off and talking about these numbers, but I haven't, again, 70 catches 1100 yards nine touchdowns.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: How did I get to that?
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: So he's averaged like 14.65 yards per catch throughout his career.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think that number will go up.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: It was 14 point.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: seven has rookie year 14.6 last year or could be switched.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think he will have the highest yards for catch of his career this year, because I think the Jaguars are going to emphasize hitting him on the nine ball, hitting him down the field on the vertical plane heavily this year.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: So I think he's going to average, you know, a little over 15 yards per catch this year on 70 catches, which I just don't think that he's going to have the same level of volume as Parker.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: In certain games, I think he could lead the Jaguars in receiving and will lead the Jaguars in receiving and targets and all that.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: But I think consistently throughout the entirety of this season, obviously, assuming health, which is not a safe assumption.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: that's all we have to go off right now for the entire group.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington, I believe will lead them in targets and catches.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he'll have more easy catches like
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: shorter catches.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Then BTJ, I think BTJ's average depth of target will be higher than Parker Washington, which also leads to Parker, you know, being able to get more catches because some of them are less difficult to complete attempts.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: But BTJ, 70 catches for 1100 yards and also nine touchdowns.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think by virtue of his deep targets, there's going to be
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Couple more touchdowns than probably you would expect from Brian Thomas Jr. because I think he's just gonna get behind the defense a couple times and nobody's gonna be able to catch him.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: There was a bunch of opportunities last year for Trevor Lawrence and BTJ to connect on those types of passes.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes BTJ wasn't able to haul in a catch.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes Trevor Lawrence missed him.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that chemistry will be much improved this year.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's already looking a lot better than it ever has so far.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's gonna carry over to training camp too.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: And that puts Jacobi Myers at third when it comes to yards.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't with the same amount of catches as Brian Thomas Jr., 70 catches, and that's based on his career based on what he did in Jacksonville last year.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: 70 catches is slightly lower than what I would have just projected him out from a statistical standpoint.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: But I think,
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: the emergence of Parker Washington and Brian Thomas Jr. eats into Jacobie Myers a little bit and the fact that Travis Hunter was not playing when Jacobie Myers was here also eats in Jacobie Myers numbers a little bit.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I haven't had 70 catches.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: He would have been at more like 75.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: based on what he did in Jacksonville last year.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: But I haven't got 70 catches, 850 yards and three touchdowns.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: A very good, useful, helpful season for the Jag Wars.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's gonna pick up a lot of first downs.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think in a lot of situations, he's going to be the Jag Wars.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Number one target on half to have it downs.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think he's going to be very good.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think he has the same level of down the field threat.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: that a Brian Thomas Jr. or a Parker Washington does, which is why you see the total number of yards and touchdowns significantly less for Jacobi Myers than the other two, even though his
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: target rate and the amount of catches is identical to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: I just don't think he's going to have the same yards per catch, the average step of target all that type of stuff.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_00]: So those are the big three and that's an impressive big three right there.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean that's three receivers combining for I think that's over 3,000 yards just between the three of them 1180 plus 1100 plus
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's just over 3,000 yards receiving between those three, which is fantastic.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I think if you had two of those guys, instead of all three of them, you would see even bigger numbers for two of them.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: But because you have the ability to spread it out between your top three receivers so evenly, given the
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: Circumstance, game setting, matchups, all that different stuff.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're going to see a very balanced grouping there when it comes to targets and catches.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Tighten, Britain's strange.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Based on what he was doing last year, and then just a little bit of an uptick in production because I think the Jaguars are going to use him less as a blocker and more as a weapon.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: I've met 65 catches 750 yards and five touchdowns.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's a big time receiving season 4 A tie-dend.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like insane volume, but again, for Britain's strange to have insane volume, I think you would have to cut one of the other receivers out of the picture.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't know how any of these guys gets like a hundred plus catches just because there's so many mouths to feed.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to do a good job spreading the love around, spreading the targets around.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Britain's strange is going to be the recipient of a bunch of targets, catch a lot of footballs, and be a very productive tie-to-end for the Jack Wars.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, also still having that edge that he'll bring at times in the run game.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then that gets us to my fifth leading receiver for the Jaguars, which is Travis Hunter.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: And look, if Travis Hunter was playing full-time, why do receiver?
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: I would have him higher.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't know how much receiver he's going to play.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Is it going to be 90% of the snaps?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: Is it going to be 80% of the snaps?
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Is it going to be 60% of the snaps?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: I do know, I feel very confident he's going to be playing as much corner back as
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, do they need him to be their number one receiver or number two receiver or number three receiver?
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: They really don't need that in my opinion.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's why you see probably a higher percentage of snaps at the corner back spot this year than wide receiver, but I still think there's going to be a lot of receiver snaps.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's going to catch the football a good amount.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't met 50 catches, which he had 28 catches last year.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: You might say, well, he only played seven games last year.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he had 28 catches, you're only given him 50 this year.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: How does that add up?
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he was playing a lot more wide to see where Dan corner last year.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: And you also had one game, his last game.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: that did a lot of the heavy lifting on those receiving numbers.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: He had eight catches in one game against the Rams.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Before that, he had six games where he had 20 total catches.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think the Jaguar is gonna use him a lot.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's gonna get 50 around 50 catches this year.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I have him.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: being targeted in between four and five times per game, I think that that's a reasonable number given the fact that he's not going to be on offense all the time, but he's still going to be heavily featured when he is on offense.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I haven't between four and five targets a game, 50 catches six hundred sixty yards.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: I just up to the average depth of target.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: and the average yards per catch for him because it was pretty low last year because a lot of the stuff early on in the season was just like put him in the slot and have him run a choice route and it's an underneath short completion pickups and easy yards get him in the flow of the game type of deal.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to be targeting him more down the field this year.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm at 50 catches, 660 yards and five touchdowns.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: And then we get to the running backs plus other anslayer receivers.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think that those numbers are going to be lower.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: Then they were last year.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN is such a talented receiving back.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying basal student isn't orally quint Alan isn't.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: But I just don't think that they need to feature Travis ETN or they need to feature the running backs in the passing game to the same level that they did last year.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_00]: five receiving targets.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: That needs to be like most of your targets like cause those are your best players.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: They just start and they're receiving game.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington is a company who might as Brian Thomas, Jr. Britain, Strange Travis Hunter.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: They should be getting the vast vast majority of all of the targets and focus in the passing game.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: So running back's plus other anti-lary receivers, which means, you know, basal to and Lee Quint Allen,
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Rodriguez, I don't think he's going to be targeted much.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Nate Borkerture, Tanner Coziel, if like CJ Williams or Josh Cameron got any targets, stuff like that.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: I have 50 catches there for 400 yards and three touchdowns and that one was really difficult to kind of get a good grasp on, but that leads Trevor Lawrence to having a massive
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: thinking probably tack on five to six runs.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, so that's going to put him right around 40 touchdowns again.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to have a higher completion percentage this year.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's just going to be much more comfortable in the offense, much more comfortable with his receivers.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: And that that completion percentage is going to jump up.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to have.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: just under 5,000 passing yards this projection kind of has them at 4,940 passing yards on 385 completions, which those numbers are gotty, but I expect the Jaguar is passing offense to be one of the very, very best and football based on everything we've talked about today, and again,
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: just the fact that Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence are entering year two together that's going to pay dividends in a big way with all these receiving targets with all these weapons and talent on the offensive side of the ball.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's where we're at.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's my projection here going in to this 2026 training camp here.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to get kicked off in less than two weeks on Wednesday.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: July 29th really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content don't forget like, subscribe.
